    The tech that came out to do the work was great. Fast, friendly, and professional. He completed the work quickly. Scheduling the appointment was tough because it was rescheduled twice for no apparent reason. When you rearrange your schedule to be home during the day, you shouldn't have to do that more than once.     Updated on 10/14/2021: We were very happy with the ultimate repair to our refrigerator although the “wait time” for assignment and then the ultimate repair took an excessive amount of time. Fortunately, we have another refrigerator in our garage which made it easier to ‘get along’ with the extended wait. And unfortunately we now have a new issue, error code “Er FF”, which the initial technician believes is just a defective seal ...and just a coincidence vis-à-vis timing. We have opened a new claim for that issue...# **.

    Called and was set up with an appt. several days in advance my air had been out for two days before calling, told them I was a senior and had breathing problems, they gave me a number to call see if I could have it pushed up, I called the number and was told to text the address and what the problem was that I was having and as I was a senior with medical problems. True to his promise the a/c man was able to come sooner than first mentioned, was so happy to see him as I hadn’t slept for three days because of the heat in the house way over 99%.

    CHW needs to screen their contractors better. Most never show up or show up late, others leave the job unfinished. Contractors sent by CHW are incompetent and lack work ethics. It’s very disappointing, especially when we move our schedules around to accommodate their visits.

    Tried to cancel my warranty and get a refund for the remaining 22 months, and I expected a refund of maybe $500-$600. I was told it would be $136. The last 2 times they sent a repairman they said it was not covered, So I was out $45 for each of the 2 visits without a repair. So I guess I am stuck with them until my contract runs out.

    J Rod Mechanical was pretty aggressive and responsive, they showed up the very next day for the service. However, we are still waiting to see if the system was fixed properly in the next 30 days or so. CHW has sent some really bad companies, some of them came, collected the service fee and disappeared. You should have all of your approved Technicians work fast like this one.

    This has nothing to do with the repairman. He was great but I remember when I called and signed up with you guys I asked if every part of the appliances are covered and the guy said everything is covered so therefore when this man came out he did everything to check to make sure that everything was right And the only thing he said he couldn't claim was the door which had apparently leaked and it was bubbling up and had rust coming out of it Am a and I do considered that part of the Refrigerator And I can't imagine if that's very healthy having rust coming down the door of your refrigerator so as I said the man was great but I think your service is not because I think something should have been done about that and apparently doors aren't covered which is absolutely ridiculous because if it's bubbling up and rust is coming out of it that means that it's leaking somewhere or it is Letting air into the freezer part 2.

    It has taken 3 months for you to get a repairman out to fix my refrigerator. Sears finally showed up and could not find anything wrong with it, but suggested that we leave more space at the back of the freezer for circulation. NOPE There is STILL water collecting on the bottom shelf and in and under the drawers at the bottom. You cannot store anything in a drawer that accumulates 3 inches of water in a weeks time. I want it fixed or replaced!

    I understand that as a member of Choice Home Warranty, there is a contract which obligates the company to pay claims under the terms of the contract. However, they make it very difficult to file a claim and respond to issues or questions. If you call the claims representative, they do not understand complicated issues. I have had to repeat myself over and over and over. If there is a problem, it seems as though they are reading from a script. If it is a serious issue, there are not supervisors to deal with, or even managers. They have "case managers" that you can make an appointment with in the future to discuss issues, but that does nothing when you have your home filling up with water, or air conditioning that is down in a heat wave. Sorry to experience that this company has NO customer service orientation. They read from a book. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!

    I would just like to say that my air went out, I called, they give me an appointment with Des Moines Heating and Cooling.     My experience with the technician who came to my house was excellent. My experience with CHW was 3 out of 5 at best. That score is only because I finally talked to someone in the US. The people you have outsourced your call center to are inept. I called trying to understand the breakdown to the bill and was told I had to decline the service before I could talk to someone about it. Wrong answer. I did finally call CHW sales line and was connected with Trestan and he helped tremendously. If not, you would have gotten a 1 star.     Thermostats were not installed. I waited 1/2 day for someone to come out and they didn’t even call me until I called them and asked where the Technician was and apparently he took the day off.     I informed Choice Home Warranty towards the beginning of July that my HVAC system had died, resulting in temperatures that would get and stay above 90 degrees in my house, even in the middle of the night. This is a dangerous environment for my pregnant wife and our furry golden retriever (dogs run hotter than humans), which I informed them of. After stressing these harsh living conditions with them almost daily for three weeks, it took them until the end of July to order the necessary equipment to get the matter resolved.

    It got so dangerously hot while we were there that there were days where we had to pay to stay at an Airbnb nearby, which costed us hundreds of extra dollars just to escape the heat. This is in addition to the $4,000 that I had to cover out of pocket to fix things they said they would not cover to get the HVAC fixed. This is not including my annual home warranty fee or the $75 service fee. When I voiced my frustration to Choice about this, they told me if I didn't like it, I could just quit (and lose everything in the process). I wish I was joking, but their customer service can be not only unprofessional but cruel. In my opinion, I would definitely not recommend them.

    On 7/11 we had flooding in our kitchen. I contacted Choice and we couldn’t get a Plumber fast enough so we contracted one on our own. He said our dishwasher was leaking badly, under the drain. We contacted Choice again, to get an appliance repairman. One did not come until 7/23! By then, the dishwasher was moved out so restoration could begin, now the problem is being attributed to a pinhole in the tub but the leak was the drain, You won’t honor the claim now. The time it takes to get service with your repair companies is unreasonable. We no longer fell confident recommending Choice and likely won’t renew in November.

    We are completely dissatisfied with Choice Home Warranty and would NOT recommend it to anyone! Our dryer stopped working on July 9th, so we contacted CHW to schedule a repair. Unfortunately, they couldn't send anyone for almost two weeks (7/21). Not good for a family of six who need clean clothes! CHW was supposed to arrive within a window, and we were told that the service person would call prior to arriving. Ten minutes into the window and prior to being called, my dad (who was going to let the service person inside due to a minor being the only one home) drove past the service person on our street as he was leaving.

    My dad asked him to come back as the service person had arrived only a few minutes prior and never called first. He refused. Now, after being LIED TO several times when they told us they'd be able to give us an earlier time slot and would call back to give us a date/time, we are told me have to wait until AUGUST 12th! I've never had a home warranty company who over a month for a repair.

    I have objected to the denial of this claim in which you say that this didn't occur within the time of my contract. I have no idea when my furnace, hot water heater, or any other appliance will decide not to work....especially my air conditioner. I had a new capacitor put in 3 years ago as well as new fuses and Freon and the unit was working up until July 18. There was no abuse of the unit since I live alone. I am 81 years old with a bad heart and have a pacemaker, so this will leave me in a medical danger with no air conditioning. This is no different than my claim of a stopped up toilet a couple of years ago that you covered. The toilet is the same age as the air conditioner and I'm sure it took years to stop up. So just cancel my policy.

    It seems over the last year that instead of processing the claims we have turned in they’ve all been rejected because they were maintenance items. You said the roof was a maintenance item and I just spent $2800 fixing the roof that included two coats of the white rubbery stuff. You also do not have approve the payment for a replacement garage door opener and runners. Again and you said it was maintenance that the motor burned out and not regular problems. In addition when we had problems with our stove you guy came and said he couldn’t do anything because it was a maintenance item and not something broke on the stove.     We had a really bad experience with Choice Home Warranty. We had no ac for 3 weeks and when we called they would just give us the run around or tell us that the technician had not sent out the quote. It does not take an ac company 3 weeks to get a quote. We ended up calling the tech guy that came out and to our surprise they had indeed sent their quote over and he basically told us Choice Warranty was not wanting to pay it. We had to literally fight a whole day over the phone to get them to approve the work order. I cannot believe this is the type of treatment they have towards their customers.     Well I can say that most of the Supervisors was nice, most of the ones that answered the phone were no American and read from a screen and just made me mad and caused me to waste my time on the phone, until asking for supervision and they could be understood (but only kept putting me off). There is no sense anymore. Should have to make arrangements to have repairman come to their house on 7 different occasions. All the repairman that came to our house was very professional and wanted to help, but hands were tied due to Choice Home Warranty not wanting to cover things. And we had to wait 14 days to get repair done. In the end after 30 plus calls CHW finally replaced my unit with $ 900 that I had to cover.

    I feel that your claim department services for the Technical review is a joke. As far as my experience this time the tech showed me his findings before he forwarded it to Choice and it stated that as far as he see the compressor wasn't working due to fair wear and tear over time. And less than 30 seconds he got text saying claim is denied and they will let me know in two hours. I did a follow up online and it was denied due to #2 not fair wear and tear. As a member for over 6 years I feel that he or she is trying to save money to keep a job by not paying for the repair. I am not someone that failed to service their unit. l services my unit two times a year.

    After having a service technician out to repair a plumbing back- up on June 5, 2021 the problem continued. The former company kept putting me off and said their equipment to fix the problem was broken.     I am a senior citizen who has used your service one other time (drain clog) since I purchased your service and still have over a year left on the contract. I requested service on my air conditioning unit on June 29th and a technician arrived on July 21st. We had no air during the recent heat wave! Fortunately Magic Mikes was an excellent company and made repairs to my satisfaction.

    The problem arose when a request for payment of parts (other than Freon 22) from Choice was declined based on a judgement call from a photo where you concluded that the unit was not maintained properly. This appeared to me to be an attempt by Choice to avoid their part of our agreement. The York heat pump sits outside on a slab adjacent to the house, and even though it is an older unit, it was rebuilt about 5 years ago and has been well maintained internally since then! At this point, I would probably not recommend Choice to anyone unless we can come to some accommodation.
