The work was done excellent by the installer. I had to put more out of pocket than I was expecting, total $1800. Outside compressor was covered but not the inside coil replacement. Also I was without air-conditioning for about two weeks.

My first experience with Choice was great, The sales rep. I dealt with was Seth **, who answered all my questions and was, I admit, a great salesman. I originally was just comparing different companies but Seth convinced me to sign up with Choice by offering me some great incentives.

Although the technician who responded to this claim was excellent and I would use him again. I certainly don't understand the reasoning for the denial of coverage even after reading the statement. The drain for my ac unit was obstructed and the water flooded the water closet, the floor underneath and under the wooden floor which began to warp--and will likely need to be replaced. This was a claim for simply clearing the drain. Not a pre-existing condition, not abuse, not normal wear. What is the purpose of this policy if not to cover this type of unexpected expense? This cost an additional $60--not really that much, but I am concerned about the likelihood of future claims being denied. BRW

I have all of the correspondence if anyone would like proof of this. We moved in our home over a week ago and had a leak in the wall. They have dragged their feet and done everything they can to make excuses to not fix this leak. The first plumber that they hired to come out here never showed up and when I contacted him he said he would no longer work with this home warranty company because they are not paying him. I then hired my own plumber to come out. He gave a diagnosis. When he found out who my home warranty was he said he was not interested in working with them so he bailed. They got another plumber to come out who was willing to do the job. They have now asked for my home inspection and every time I ask for a follow up they say it's going to be another 24 hours. We still have a leak in the wall and it's been over a week with 100 plus Temps outside.

I contacted Choice Home Warranty because I had a leaking pipe under my home. Since the leak was under the house, it was not detected until I had my yearly termite inspection. The plumber came and repaired the leak within 30 minutes. The pipe is no longer leaking. All is well.

Have been pleased in the past couple of years but this year was not so good. I had a dishwasher that was leaking water and Choice sent a internet company who sent out a brand new employee alone and he had to diagnose by phone with his boss who ended up being completely wrong and claim was denied. I got my own plumber to come and he said it wasn’t what the first techs said. Totally unrelated. I have not gotten reimbursed another $85 for my 2nd opinion which was right. And then I’m told I get a new dishwasher but it was actually a e-gift card from Lowe’s for $265, which won’t even buy any new dishwasher at Lowe’s, keeping in mind I also have to pay the installation fee. And I am still without a working dishwasher 7 months later. Not impressed and may cancel my account over it.

Great service. It was fantastic having a lady plumber. I felt safe having her in my house. The clogged drain was difficult to clear, but she said she “never gives up”, and that was true. She didn’t give up or give excuses, she got the job done.

Alex was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. He came out on a Saturday which is rare, diagnosed our ac unit's problem and contacted Choice to make sure he was providing us with all the service benefits. He continued to check to make sure our unit was cooling properly before he left.

The technician that came to our home to assess the situation and diagnose the repair needed was awesome. She was able to accomodate my schedule and expedite her trip to our home. Washing machine would not run through the cycles. Technician was able to fix it within about thirty to forty five minutes. The technician advised he was going to change my window of time because I didn’t answer the phone when I returned his call. I told him that was unacceptable so he kept the appointment as set for my window of time. When he arrived he didn’t introduce himself so I introduced myself and asked him what was his name. He was not at all personable but was efficient. I did not receive a receipt for the work order or payment. I would recommend him to a friend with hesitancy.

I WAS HAVING HSA home warranty and then I look to change it due to a delay in service. A Choice representative called me and told me to, "Cancel with HSA and come to us. We will take care of your issue." I have to cancel HSA and after taking their insurance I come to know they cheat me they start excuses. I put remarks on their Twitter page they blocked me from there. Because they don't know people know their reality. They sent the link for rating then right away after you sign with them so customers have not yet experience the service and give them 5 stars. They are manipulating the rating system. Now I request to cancel and refund. Also they keep excuses and taking time. This is the worst ever home warranty and advise customers not to go with them because they block all those from their pages who writing the truth about them.

He was very polite and had it fixed in less than 5 minutes. I was thinking I paid 60 bucks for 5 minutes I was kind of mad, but then he wanted a picture of it and I found out it was leaking. So he had to come back and that took longer. Working good now. Thanks.

Choice was quick to respond to my initial claim. We will see how the next few days go. Hopefully, the technician will get our GE washing machine running and in good shape before August 6th. If the technician is unable to fix the problem, hopefully, a new washing machine will arrive promptly.

You always find something to deny! And you won't send the money that you owe! Now you have the stupid rule about having to set a 15 minute appointment with the case manager and they hang up on you at the end of the 15 minutes whether you've resolved the issue or not!

On time, nice and fixed with claim being approved. Service charge rate has gone up significantly. And monthly rates have increased. Hopefully they don't increase more so that it still pays to keep the warranty. Only negative was amount of time to get claim picked up by a provider.

The technician came when he said he would and seemed to really know what he was doing regarding central air conditioning units. Fixed it within minutes. And we finally had some cool air on a warm day. Would highly recommend him.

I had just begun checking for a new home warranty service. The one I had was canceled in June. The service was unacceptable. After looking you folks were rated the best. My son uses someone different and had plans to contact them also. But the man that I talked with here was excellent. Answering all my questions and offering prices and options I could not refuse. We were pleased with his service, but it has taken over a week to get the part needed to fix it. We need it much sooner in this 100 degree temp. We were not happy about the way the home warranty company refused to pay anything on our 26 year old water heater replaced 2 weeks ago We spent 700$ on it.

You sent out one of your contracted well people. McKay in carson city. He worked on the pump and found some things wrong. He fixed them and left. Now I get a message from you saying claim was denied because preapproval wasn't obtained by Mckay. You need to work with McKay and get this resolved.

HI, I have had my policy for about 1 year. I struggled with my washer 6 months ago and put in a claim, and paid my co-pay. Then with the same struggle for the past few months I put in another claim and this time the repairman declared the washer needing replaced, and put in a notice to Choice. I promptly received an e-mail which was supposed to give me an e-certificate to Lowes for a replacement, but to my surprise, it will take another 30 days to receive the e-certificate to get the washer.. :| Really!!!! Not sure I am going to renew my policy, I have not be 100% satisfied.

It has not yet been installed, but up to this point in time the service has been very good. I would suggest that the breakdown in charges be more explicit, so that the customer can make a better judgment &/or decision as to what they want to do, and not feel compelled in going one direction only. Other than that GREAT SERVICE.

Howard C., representative that helped me, was very professional courteous & knowledgeable with the products & services he offered. He answered all my questions & was very patient. Technician superb. He tried to help us save our beautiful shower tile by going through the interior bedroom wall to access the leak. They dried the claim because of the concrete. When I told him to go through the tile, I was told I had to appeal it online....24-48 hour wait for response. This is a standard procedure on every claim I have made in the last 3 1/2 years of the 5 year contract they talked me into buying in the beginning.

Young man by the name of Chris came to solve problem with disposal. He was very friendly and worked to make sure disposal was working before he left. He checked in with his company re everything being approved before work was completed. At this time, it seems my disposal is working as it should. Complaint: Had to repeatedly state my issue because automated system seemed to have difficulty in grasping description of problem with disposal. Thank you.

The service tech from WorkRite appliance was great. He explained things in detail and quickly diagnosed the problem. The only issue for me is CHW is issuing an e-card to me for Lowe’s for replacement. I wanted a check to go to the store of my choice.

2 out of 3 times I’ve attempted to use my home warranty was declined. Choice Home Warranty sucks and I’ll never renew again. Huge waste of money. They never cover the most needed repairs on your home and then you’re out the warranty money, plus the co-pay, plus the new repair. My technician on my service was very helpful though.

Stove can’t be fixed and to buy another will cost $890 but they only want to pay $398 and it’s a coupon for Lowe’s!!!! So needless to say I’m very upset! I can’t even buy any new stove for that much less a replacement for that amount. Not to mention I have to buy from Lowe’s which I don’t shop in!!!!

I signed up with Choice 2020 December. I was not pleased with former co. I had not used Choice for 6 mo. When I needed my dryer repaired I called Choice. It was handled quickly & smoothly. They came next day & repaired my dryer in less than :30 minutes. Service was very, very good & was completed in one visit. Thanks much.

It took 2 trips and 4 days to get my air conditioner working and the temperature outside exceeded 90+ degrees and my family had to sleep on the couch and mats during that time, as it was too hot to stay upstairs.

I called on Thursday to log a claim and got no response until I called Monday morning. On Monday they assigned a technician for a 5 hour window between 3-8 and they never showed. On Tuesday I called back and they couldn’t get a hold of the technician so they put the claim back in the system and I wasn’t reassigned until Wednesday. Finally someone came Thursday morning. Thankfully he was very polite and quickly fixed the issue. It took a week to get someone out. In the meantime water was leaking all over my kitchen floor from our refrigerator. I feel my $65 fee should have been waived because I basically had to call to get attention on my claim and I stayed home for an appointment that didn’t happen when I had other things to do. I’ll be worried if I ever need help with a more critical system/issue.

My AC froze up and I had water all over and it's 83*. I got on my computer and put in a claim ticket online. It was fast and easy. I thought it would be Monday before I heard anything. since it was Thursday night. To my great surprise and joy, I checked my email in the morning after a terrible night and someone was due at my house in just hours! The Tech was able to test my system and discover it was in need of a little freon. It's the next day and I am grateful the house was cool last night.

My rating is based on the repair of our AC system. SO FAR, our claim is 8 days old during the hottest spell of the cooling season to date. The system seems very slow and so far, confusing as to the back and forth with your company and the tech assigned. Communication with us as the customer have been somewhat confusing also. We have to keep emailing questions. And so far, we have no fix date to repair the problem. We are lucky that friends have loaned us AC units and we had to go and buy a 3rd which frankly was not in our budget. Longer story short, today is the 9th day and all we know is the claim is approved except for any "non-covered parts" which is also somewhat confusing. Needless to say, we are just getting a bit frustrated with the process so far and still a bit "confused".

It is sad when something breaks, and so nice when it is fixed by a efficient professional repairman. I have nothing more to say, the repair was perfect. Last weekend had rain, wind, and cooler temps. My indoor temp never was higher than 83 degrees.

I got my claim # and have received an email telling me to expect another one giving me information with who to contact to come look at our unit. There was no pressure from Choice Home Warranty sales team - a plus for them. They were very polite and informative. I have had to utilize my warranty with CHW approximately 8 times in 8 months. The claims range from fixing toilets, fixing leaking dishwasher, to fixing then having to replace garage door opener and finally, costly replacement of major components of my air conditioning system. Assignment of technicians has been prompt. Dishwasher leak was repaired per CHW order to the technician, even though CHW’s own criteria indicated that the aging dishwasher should be replaced not repaired.
Toilet #1 running - technician dispatched turned out to have “fixed” toilet with the cheapest possible replacement flapper which didn’t solve the running toilet problem until after the expiration period of the guarantee. Had to pay another $65 service charge for re-servicing by a new plumber who fixed the problem properly. I changed my review of the “poor” plumber to reflect his poor servicing. The new plumber dispatched did what the first plumber didn’t do - replaced problem AND peripheral parts with the highest quality parts for my aging Koehler toilet.
Shortly thereafter, my 2nd toilet experienced the same “running” problem. I requested that the better plumber dispatched. CHW obliged by dispatching the requested plumber who fixed it right the first time. (The bad plumber is still on their dispatch list as I recently found out.). Next my 25 year old garage door opener broke. A good company was dispatched and he recommended replacement due to the age of the opener and the probable difficulty in finding a replacement belt. CHW refused to accept the technician’s recommendation and ordered him to replace the belt only. It took him a while to locate a replacement belt but once it finally arrived, the belt was installed but the opener still did not work. CHW finally approved opener replacement as originally recommended but it was not of the the same quality as my original opener. All of this caused considerable delays in getting the garage door opener operational.
Then in April, living in the Deep South, I noticed that my air conditioner/heat pump system was never cycling off. I submitted a claim. It took several days for the technician to schedule an appointment due to the weekend when the company is closed. I had to stay in a hotel for the weekend due to the oppressive heat. Once the technician replaced the capacitor, the compressor exploded. Fortunately a “cool” front had moved in but it ultimately took a total of 3 weeks for me to resume operation of my air conditioner. Even though the weather was fairly mild, the humidity build up in my well insulated home made living in it extremely uncomfortable and impossible to sleep well at night.
Evidently researching a new compressor purchase and the % of the cost that I had to pay that was acceptable to CHW (this was news to me) caused a long delay before the air conditioner could even be ordered. Then there was the delay in receiving the new A/C and then installing it. I was unhappy with CHW’s handling and haggling with their own dispatched A/C expert over this unacceptably long period. Thank goodness it wasn’t the summer. I do not have family locally and could not afford to stay in a hotel for this extended period. I also was surprised over the co-pay required. The original salesperson had said that this contract covered comparable replacement of my appliances if they couldn’t be fixed. There was never any mention of co-pays.
I am currently researching switching to another company but I haven’t been satisfied with the alternatives. CHW is highly rated but I advise, “Let The Buyer Beware”. I’m ahead of the game when I look at cost/benefit but I wish the salesperson had been more realistic. I recommend that potential customers read the fine print, not set your expectations too high and realize that these companies will do their best to minimize their costs at every opportunity. If you view the contract as being better than not having one, I think you’ll be satisfied with CHW, especially if you have aging appliances. Remember to maintain those appliances that should be regularly serviced. Don’t be afraid to document your experience within the claim online every step along the way - the good and the bad. I think I’m going to stick with CHW at least for now.

Unit has a Freon leak in the copper tubing. Freon was a bandaid, could not fix, I had to pay, paid my regular 45.00 and 250.00 for Freon a few you will have to Pay also and this is the third or full time, what does the insurance binder say and what good is it? He says unit should be replaced.

I came home from work on a Tuesday and discovered no hot water. I input the service claim early Wednesday morning. Later Wednesday received notice of a service call on Thursday after 5 due to my work hours. However the contractor did not contact me or show up on Thursday. He did call first thing Friday and explain that he was covering an emergency call and was out of service until very late. He did arrive around 6 pm on Friday and discovered he needed a part to repair which had to wait until Monday but he did fix it then and operating well now.

My water heater was leaking from both of the water connections on top of the heater and running down the outside onto the floor. I filed a claim and Choice Home Warranty sent a plumber to access it. Then they denied the claim saying it was leaking from the tank. I appealed explaining if it was leaking from the tank, the water would be coming out at the bottom of the heater instead of clearly leaking from the top connections so they sent another plumber who gave the same diagnosis as the first that it was leaking from the connections on top, yet they refused again to repair or replace it. I have pictures of the leaking connections on top of the heater. My family has been without hot water for two weeks now with no fair resolution. I realize that it is a 75 gallon water heater so it will be expensive to replace, but if I don't get at least a reasonable cash offer for partial replacement cost I will be forced to take legal action.

On July 23rd repairman from Sears visited around 9am. Repairman came in with a flashlight, no tools, stayed less than 30 minutes, said could not find serial # collected $75 and left. Did nothing, number was on back of stove. Took several calls to get someone back here on 29th. 2nd repairman was excellent and did a very good job. Highly recommend 2nd person. Maybe wait was worth it, doubt first repair person could fix anything.

My air conditioning stopped working on a Thursday. The workman came out immediately, but he had to let the unit unfreeze before he could fix it. He was supposed to come back the next day. It was 95 degrees in my house. The appointment was then postponed to Monday (by Choice?). Then I got another message from Choice that the appointment was postponed again until Tuesday. Fortunately, the repairman showed up anyway and got my AC going again.

Called on Tuesday 27 July because my central air conditioner stopped working. Had a tech from L&F HVAC out on Wednesday afternoon and he informed me that it was the motor. Job was approved on Thursday 29 July and Lance from L&F was here today to do job. Job would have cost over $1500 but all I had to pay was service fee of $75.

This day 7/30/2021 started on a good note due to the positive experience I had while speaking with a representative at the Choice Home Warranty Office. Upon our initial telephone conversation we discussed the submittal of my Claim to request service to my Air Conditioning Unit to my home residence. She was pleasant, polite, courteous and professional. She also displayed a great deal of respect to the customer. Her knowledge of the Claims process was impressive and she ensured me of prompt and fast service. I was also told that an email message would be sent to my email address within 4 hours of my Claim to alert me of the name of the technician, date and time of service. I am very pleased as a CHW customer to know that my AC Unit will be back up and running very soon.

My experience with CHW has been trying to say the least. Your company consistently places the burden on the customer, e.g. find your own technician to having to wait unreasonable amounts of time. This also extends to calling to find out status of claim and being placed in a queue for extended periods of time. I am still waiting to have my dishwasher replaced since May because CHW chose not to fix it. I was told I should go ahead and purchase a new one and I would be reimbursed with Lowe's Gift Ecards instead of receiving a check for the small amount CHW said they would pay to replace it which does not work for me. I need the money upfront in order to purchase a dishwasher. More than not, In my numerous calls to CHW, I have been told conflicting instructions, so it is clear CHW'S administrative structure is broken.
I have 2 homes and purchased a contract on each, but will not do business you with folks in the future. Please stop sending me nonstop emails soliciting my business. You could not pay me to sign up. An online article from 2020 says it best "the company (CHW) is now battling a state Attorney General's lawsuit, a Better Business Bureau alert, and more than 5000 BBB complaints." You won't be in business much longer at this rate, nor do you deserve to be. I'm done!

Repairman came and said microwave needed to be replaced. CHOICE said they would give me an e-card for $191.00. I looked all around town and could not replace for that price. I waited one week to talk to a representative and he upped the offer to $249.00. I accepted the offer. I was told it would take between 2 and 4 weeks to receive the e-card. I will have been without a microwave for 3-5 weeks. Not a very good service plan. Not happy with CHOICE. This is the first claim I have made!

Initially I was very satisfied with CHW based solely on how fast the claims were responded to but lately that has changed. I am going to outline the main problem I had which I had to end up solving myself on yesterday. I called in for an AC problem, I was dispatched a very competent gentleman from Honora's Home Improvement. He came on time, did the troubleshooting and narrowed the problem down to a breaker being bad in the panel. The breaker is only for the AC system outside. He told me that CHW would not allow him to change the breaker because he was not an electrician although he was perfectly capable of doing so. He told me he would send in his diagnosis to CHW and another tech would be dispatched to finish the job. He said there would be no further charge since this is part of the same work order. After he did his notes he texted me back the work order number so I could make reference to it when I called in.
When I contacted CHW they told me my first work order was closed and a new one would have to be generated for an electrician and I would be needing to pay again. I attempted to explain to the situation to the first young lady I contacted who spent the entire time eating chips and when I told her she needed to combine my tickets she hung up on me. The next person I got seemed to understand but just generated a new claim which stated I would be responsible for paying an electrician to finish a job I had already paid for. I also talked to a supervisor, he called me and his whole thing was listening for silence and then stating his point of view. That became obvious when I said something that agreed with one of his points in the conversation but after I stopped talking he started to debate his point as though I did not agree, I had to stop him and tell him all over again. He resolved nothing.
I had to have the breaker repaired on my own or wait another 6 days for a technician to show up and change the breaker for which I would be charged. Not to mention we would be without AC in temps over 100 degrees! This weekend the recommendation is to not leave the house because it is going to be so hot! So naturally I had the device repaired myself in order to restore the AC for my family. This behavior was atrocious and uncalled for, there should be some way to speak to a person that has the ability to help when a customer has an unusual problem. Not a bunch of guys who appear to have been trained by Jack Sparrow (notorious Pirate for the uninformed) who's famous saying was "take what you can, give nothing back".
I understand the ideal play from a warranty company perspective is customer pays you monthly, customer files claim which is typically some small issue, contractor fixes issue and customer pays them which leaves payment to warranty company as profit. Great, I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is not having someone with decision power and compassion available for conversation when there is an extenuating circumstance.
As a sidebar, adding a selection for a re-visit on the website in addition to the file a new claim button would be helpful. I had an issue with that as well (A tech came out to fix my icemaker and now each time you use the water dispenser the kitchen gets flooded, waiting on a return visit for days now). Filing a new claim results in a new charge! Turns out you have to physically call and talk to a human, who is no more than a data entry person, about your problems. Let's see if this gets addressed...

Because Choice was unable to locate an electrician in St George because no one wants to work for them, because they make it too difficult for the service person or the homeowner to get paid and are too hard to work with, I turned to an online site and Barton Electric responded immediately. We had a burned outside wire causing problems all around the house. Roy found and fixed it within an hour. Choice won't reimburse me because Roy is a one man show with no computer skills to battle thru Choice's stupid website. I HATE CHOICE! THEY SUCK COMPLETELY! Very difficult to place a claim. I made 6 calls trying to talk to an actual person and was either cut off or redirected to the same automated message. When I asked to be connected to a manager, the automated message said there was not a manager on duty. My technician was good, but arrived at the wrong time. Customer service needs to be improved. My husband and I have had this service since we moved in our new home November 2019. We've never had to place a claim. The technician recommended was great. He was timely and very upfront with the condition of my water heater. Due to the age and condition he recommended a new unit. Choice would only approve replacement of a part for an almost 20-year-old unit that clearly needed to be replaced. My husband and I chose to have the unit replace because that's the best thing to do. At this point in time I see no reason for this home warranty service as it did not save any time or any money. I could have called a plumber and paid full price for a new hot water heater on my own. Not sure will be renewing. Thank you.

The repair took longer than expected and the cost out of pocket was more than expected. I should have read the fine print. Have 2 claims. Was told I had to replace washer, not them like I thought. Was given a claim officer that sent email with link, that did not work left several messages no return call. Tried email and that didn't work. Have been without washer since 07/16/2021, and still no resolution. I ask for different claim adjuster, got no reply. Also had ceiling fan to be replaced. Technician came and assessed but couldn't get ahold of them so he had to leave. Have heard nothing since.

Really simple...My city is under heat advisories as a heat wave has lingered for a few days and continues. My AC goes out in the middle of the day. After making sure there wasn't anything I could do or able to resolve on my own, I easily file my claim online with CHW and in less than 24 hours of my AC failing, well I have AC! I didn't request an escalation to get quick visit from the repair company or anything of the nature due to the extreme weather. This by far was the quickest response I've received from any home warranty company I've ever used!!! My experience has not been great. I was not able to get to talk to my case manager on my claim. I was told that my claim was denied because my equipment had a failure prior to the effective date of my claim. Well my claim started 22 July 2021 and my claim was 24 July 2021. I have not received a call from my claim manager to dispute this or discuss the situation.

Legendary Energy was amazing. They came next day after my claim (thanks Choice Home Warranty). They could not get on roof due to storm. They made another appointment with me right on the spot and declined the copay until the day they return to fix the air conditioning. They returned as promised within a two hour window. Our air conditioning system went out Sunday night and we placed a claim. The air conditioner repairman came on Tuesday and repaired the a/c on the spot. The a/c repairman had parts in his work van and was able to immediate fix the issue instead of having to wait for parts to be ordered and setting up another appointment. Great service.

The senior rate and the five year warranty and extra year with upfront payment. Worth the investment on an over 400,000 dollar house with 65 dollars for service. A very good thing.

When my washer broke, it was 7 years old. I called Choice and they couldn’t get the parts so they replaced the washer! They also fixed my ice cube maker in a refrigerator that was 7 years old! I’ve come to the conclusion I won’t buy GE anymore. Thank heaven for Choice Home!

It took Choice Warranty almost 2 weeks to find a technician to repair my garage door. The garage door was not usable during this time so it was very inconvenient. Once they found a technician they came the next day and resolved the problem. The technician was friendly and communicated well. The reason for the lower score was the wait time. But once I received a technician I was happy with the results.

Technician arrived on time and completely replaced the unit. He noted whoever previously installed the arm on door did backwards and fixed that too! I’ve not always had good luck with repairman, usually they come and assess the problem, and then have to set up another appointment to come back to fix it. He did all of this in one service call. Works wonderfully. Great job!

I submitted a claim at 8:30 am for my A/C system that quit functioning. The repairs were complete and the A/C functioning properly at 10:30 am. It’s very hot here lately, so getting the A/C repaired promptly was a priority for me. They exceeded my expectations and had the repairs completed expeditiously, within 2 hours of submitting the claim. Awesome!

1st repairman came on Monday when appt was for Tuesday. We were not here on Monday. This error caused a week’s delay before another repairman was sent. In total we had to wait 11 days for service. VERY INCONVENIENT and I know I could have gotten the washer repaired much sooner without this CHW.

Every claim I have made with CHW is always resolved in an efficient and effective manner. We have an older home and the systems and appliances are also a little old. CHW keeps us covered for the service and breakdown on those older systems. This gives me and my family peace of mind that we have CHW.

First, your dedicated claim reps denied my claim. Second, we set up two (3:45pm and 4:30pm) 15 minute claim discussion meeting and neither claim rep came to the meetings. I sent additional pictures today to both reps. I have not heard a word. The pictures showed exactly what the service tech described. The accumulator hit the condenser coil. This caused the leak. The leak was NOT due to rust or corrosion as the reps assumed.
This is from the Tier 1 service ticket: "Arrived and spoke with h/o. Found us unit really low of refrigerant 22. Due to age of system I recommend replacing it. Found accumulator has hit condenser coil. No trace of refrigerant though it has been leaking for a while. 1 1/2 ton split heat pump for us bedroom and office. Needs to be replaced by a small unit less than 42” long." Tier 1 is Choice Home Warranty's chosen service provider. CHOICE NEEDS TO REPLACE THIS UNIT PER OUR CONTRACT.

The repairman was very nice and thorough. He advised we needed a new tub for the ice maker. He advised he would have to get it approved and would call the next day and advise what was happening. He called the next day and advised he would drop off the tub the next day. True to his word he was here.

Your Home Warranty policy is not worth the paper it is written on. It is a total waste of my money. Your conditions for repair or replacement of the items under warranty is impossible to accomplish. I would not recommend that anyone purchase your warranty.

Had to wait 4 days for service Technician. CHW gave a very low $ amount toward replacement. Paying with E-check within 30 days. Where can anyone buy a new refrigerator for $730? Wasted time with Choice and location of technician in this time of stores having to order out of stock appliances. Cannot get a frig before 8/5/21. CHW need to speed up their process. For real!! Not happy about inability to store a simple item as milk!!!!

If you ever have something that needs replacing you can bet that your claim will be denied. Worst company I've dealt with and we'll be cancelling the contract with them.

Choice took 5 days to find an ac tech. My house was 92 degrees.You refused to pay for surge protector so if ac gets struck again whole unit will blow, so more expense on your end. Stupid decision you made.

Original Service Provider did not contact us. Phone number for the Service Provider would not connect. Service Provider was a no show on the day of the appointment. Was assigned another Service Provider who did show up but could not do the repair because a part needs to be ordered. Too much time and energy was required to even get a Service Provider to our home. This was a first time claim and it was not a good experience and does not speak well for your company.

Technician was knowledgeable and helpful. The dishwasher was fixed and running like new. He arrived promptly and worked quickly. The young man was polite and explained what was wrong and how he would fix it. When the work was done he ran the dishwasher and then cleaned up any mess that was left.

I am displeased with how Brittany ** handled my claim. I am very satisfied with how Ms. Peta ** handled my claim and I give her 5 stars. However, I am displeased with how long it took CHW to settle my claim and the length of time that I will have to wait to get the eCard from Lowe's - 1 month, very unreasonable. I don't agree with having to purchase from one vendor. If CHW is giving me a partial payment to replace my stove, I should be able to get the check and shop where I choose. I have never shopped at Lowe's. Unsatisfied customer on this claim.

Extremely happy with the response time to my washer which CHW decided to credit me for a replacement. $343 seemed a bit low, but the problem I have is I will receive the gift card for Lowe's and was informed it could take up to 30 days??? Somehow it seems to me this credit could be emailed and I could go and buy my replacement today.

You guys must be the cheapest company in the world.. We had problems with our ice maker on the fridge recently and it took two and a half months to fix it. Totally bad form and very unprofessional. Now with the ac, same thing, nickel and dime it to death. Totally ridiculous. At this time we want to discontinue service with Choice Home Warranty and want a full refund of our money. We've had it with you and want to sever all ties. Please send us a refund of all our money.

Very friendly and helpful sales staff. We are in the process of purchasing a new home. The agent I spoke with explained everything very well, and let me know which was the best home warranty for our needs. He did try to upsell an extended policy, which he explained and it did make sense to get it. But we were just not ready for that yet. He was friendly, a good salesperson because he didn't try to push me into it. I will be more likely to be a return customer even if I have to pay a little more in the future, than to be pressured. Was pleased overall with the service I have received so far.

This is my second claim that has been denied. I filed claim in May of 2019 for my A.C. Unit, the repair people came out and put Freon in and everything was fine. Last week AC began to run constantly and not cooling. Filed claim July 26,2021. Repair people came, said unit was not installed properly. Where that came from I have no idea. My A.C. System was put in New in 2016. I think you are using unethical practices. Plan to cancel my policy.

Timely response to AC malfunction when heat index reaching over 100F. Vendor arrived on time and resolved issue while on site, getting me back up and running. The tech who arrived on the scene wore protective gear including shoe covers, was professional, polite and apparently competent. The tech also explained the challenges ACs face during extremely hot and humid temperatures making it very important to perform timely service of my HVAC units.

John the technician zeroed in on the problem in quick order and solved the problem like the professional that he was. Very cordial and polite personality. An entire wall had lost electricity and John suspected the GFI circuit to be the potential problem. It was located in a very strange place that the homeowner didn't even know where it was. John found it and replaced it with a new one. Problem solved!

I called the customer service line and spoke with a representative named Kevin. He was rude and very unprofessional! He also hung up the phone on me because I asked him politely to allow me to speak and not talk over me! If it was an accident he would of called me back like other companies do after a disconnection.

I have a property in NYC & I live in PA. They came, took payment & looked @ what needed to be done & left. This is 2 weeks ago. Still waiting to get the job done. Appt made. I travel to be there and then get canceled by the plumber @ the time they were supposed to arrive.

Claim case - **. I have 3 year CHW. I had AC not cooling issue. Technician came after 4 days and told me, AC is too low on refrigerant and took deductible and went away. CHW told me that, I have to do leak search since it's not covered. I paid for leak search from my pocket. Leak was in coil. Now CHW just said, leak in coil is due to corrosion, as per contract line F1, it's not covered. CHW already know that, coil will always show corrosion and they always have this reason to deny your claim. I challenged them, how can CHW say, leak is due to corrosion without checking?
The case manager assigned is not to help you, but they are there to say NO for your claim. I wanted to escalate, but no escalation number or contact. I opened new case and resolution manager agreed to help me to send another technician, but I had to pay again for deductible. Ultimately, I paid $2000+ from my pocket for coil replacement. If this insurance is not covering your high risk cost, then what is the use? I cannot cancel this service and get my money back as well. Since they said, I will get $0 if I cancel the service!!! I would not even give 1 star to CHW.

Updated on 08/15/2021: Customer service rep. was very friendly & patient in helping me process my claim to have my washing machine repaired. The Technician from Priority Appliance Repair arrived at the time scheduled & he was very efficient & was able to find the problems that caused my washer to no longer work. Choice Home Warranty agreed with the Technician that my washer would be too expensive to repair & are giving me a Lowe's eGift Card to purchase a new washer. I am very pleased with the efficiency of the whole process, from filing a claim, having a very efficient repairman check it out, & getting funds to purchase a new washer.

Fellow was nice enough, but my A/C unit flooding with water wasn't a qualified issue for some reason, so I had to pay the $75 service fee on top of the $200 to fix the issue with the unit itself. So far this warranty is worthless.

At times I’ve had to wait 3 months for an appointment. They don’t cover everything that I was lead to believe before I purchased the warranty. My washer quit working, so Choice told me to replace it but only offered me half of what a replacement would cost, even though my “appliances” are covered through them.
