    Well, I was impressed by the reviews. My Freezer in my side by side Refer died. Now To get my first tech appointment was 2 days from my call. The repair was not good. 5 repair trips later and an other repair company. By the way 6 repair trips total 3 no shows, No phone calls or message. Finally Choice said, "We will pay you off." To replace my built in unit it will cost $12,000.Now my unit was 24 years old. They gave me $800. I did not expect over $2,000. So beware. My first call was Aug 22nd. I have not received my check yet.

    Our cooktop burner failed, and within a reasonable time, the technician arrived and verified the issue. He did not have part with him and could be two weeks before he could return with the parts. Fortunately, there is more than one burner. Not real fast, but he is a nice guy. Requires the customer to block out at least two time periods, four hours apiece, to get the work done.

    I’ve been a Choice Home Warranty customer for years, paying over $730 per year plus $100 per service call, and I’m extremely disappointed by how my recent claims were handled. My oven was 30 years old and the springs/hinges on the door were done. The door would slam down without my leg holding it up...they did a virtual visit and told me that it wasn't covered. That was the 1st strike. Now, my washing machine lid cracked after 10 years of normal use — a clear wear-and-tear issue, especially since this model has a plastic lid (unlike older metal ones).

    The technician Choice sent clearly stated in their report: “Replacement of the complete lid assembly is required to restore safe use. The cause was ‘time of usage,’ which supports a wear-and-tear claim. There was no user damage or misuse.” Despite this, Choice denied my claim, stating that “opening and closing the lid over a 10-year period cannot cause it to crack.” When I appealed, case workers Shanika R and Sylanna H refused to provide the name of a manager or claims supervisor, making escalation impossible.

    This experience shows a clear pattern of taking premiums but denying valid claims. I’ve cancelled my policy and will be moving to a competitor. I will also be exploring class action options, as I believe this is a widespread issue among Choice Home Warranty customers. Recommendation: Avoid Choice Home Warranty at all costs...go with another warranty company. Their customer service is unhelpful, their denial reasoning is unreasonable, and their process lacks accountability.

    My husband picked Choice Home Warranty. We’ve been using their service for four years. I just call them and submit the claim over the phone, and it's easy.

    All of the contractors have been fine, except for one. He never showed up. He kept saying that he was a little busy, and he never came. I called them back and they told me I could pick my own, and then they’d take care of it. I like the comfort of knowing that somebody will come and take care of my issues.

    I called Choice Home Warranty to cancel the policy. They cancelled the policy without giving refund nor agreeing to serve the policy till the last day. The agent just hanged on me saying, "Your policy is cancelled." I again called them and this time Choice Home warranty is saying, "You should have first get the refund and then cancel the policy." Now we cannot do anything. Very bad experience.

    To Homeowners – Avoid Choice Home Warranty at All Costs! If I could give zero stars I would! To start, they have the absolute worst customer service! I had a charge on my credit card that wasn't authorized and when I called they told me I had to speak to a specific department and would get a call back within 24 hours. After making this call with the same answer and no calls back multiple times, I canceled my credit card to ensure that I wouldn't be charged again. Canceling my card sure got their attention and miraculous my call was answered and transferred to the very same department they originally told me they couldn't connect me to.

    Once I had someone on the phone they informed me that no refund was going to be made because I canceled my card instead of contacting them first. Even after explaining that I had tried to call multiple times to resolve it with them first before canceling my card I was still told there was nothing that was going to be done and I was not going to receive a refund. It was only $50.58, but makes me wonder how many others this happens to? Bottom line, with all the other home warranty companies out there stay away from Choice Home Warranty!

    While living in Florida, we had excellent service from Choice. However, after moving to Indiana, the service has been unsatisfactory. We waited 4 weeks to get the washer repaired. Our gas stove never recieved a service call because they couldn't find a technician to look at it. Then I had built-in microwave that wasn't working. After 6 weeks, someone came and looked at it, but Choice declined the claim with no explanation. I am so disappointed because I had prompt, quality service in Florida, and then it changed this year in Indiana.

    The refrigerator went on the blink and had to be replaced, which isn’t surprising given its years of functioning. CHOICE’S monetary offer for the replacement was satisfying; however, the offer came in the form of a Lowe’s e-Gift Card, which was unacceptable to us. We had to go through the process of contacting a claims person and explain our concerns and thereupon were able to have the funds sent in the form of a check. I do believe it would have been better business for CHOICE to have given us a choice, up front, of choosing how we received the replacement funds rather than have to go through the process of contacting a claims person.

    When I purchased this plan, I was talked into buying the most expensive plan. I paid 1 year in advance. I was told it even covered pre-existing. Well, I finally had to make a claim and it was not pre-existing!! I had a separate HVAC company come check my system out and they told me it was immaculate. I have a company clean my system every 6 months. I can’t do it because I am a totally disabled Veteran. Well, it was determined even by the company that Choice sent out that it definitely was not pre-existing.

    These companies told me that home warranty companies make their money off of DENYING CLAIMS. They are usually only good for appliances. Well, Guess what?!? CHOICE DENIED MY CLAIM. I contacted them and they told me it was denied due to existing problems. They said I could file an appeal. Well even though I was lied to by their representative about pre-existing claims being covered; and I might add that this was not pre-existing, they DENIED MY CLAIM.

    I was conned into purchasing the top-of-the-line policy and paid 1 year in advance. I plan on filing a suit in Small Claims court and making a complaint to the Attorney General’s Office for Community Affairs. We have pictures and a gauge reading to support my claim. That was yesterday and this morning as I sit here, I have a new complete HVAC system being installed. The representative for CHOICE sent me somewhere in India (I believe). Everyone at CHOICE were very RUDE TO ME. Once again, this is how they treat the Disabled Veterans. I am 75 years old this Sunday and feel they took advantage of me. ALSO, I am a Cancer Patient.

    I’ve had Choice Home Warranty for two or three years, and they’ve been good. They come out quickly, but it also depends on whether they have to order the parts. And I also liked the technicians. They were good. The only thing is, I don’t understand how they said they’ll replace something if they can’t fix it, but you still wind up having to pay. Because I had to get a new hot water tank, and I had to pay so much. And they didn’t explain anything to me.

    I had a problem with my air conditioning, and Choice sent out a technician. He noticed what the problem was right away, a little device on the AC that was sticking. They told me they had to flush the AC out of Freon so they could fix that. My friend who does this kind of work checked it out for me and said that the Freon is not contaminated. I can flush it out, capture it, and put it back in. But that’s not how they did it. Of course, the old systems have the very expensive Freon. I had to put out $1,400 out of my own pocket, something I never had the impression was gonna happen. It’s working now, but I’m not happy.

    I didn’t feel like they were upfront with me. It took a long time for me to get somebody out, and it took about two weeks before they got the part. When I called, Choice and the contractor pointed fingers at each other. I wasn't happy with that either. When I asked Choice about what I had to pay, they said, “Read your policy.” It’s got so many clauses and fine print that they should have said what section it was and what it specifically said. They never did that. There’s been other things that they have done that I’ve been happy with. This one here was a big one, and I was not happy. I’m looking at possibly other avenues now.

    Submitting the claim with Choice was very easy, but I did have an issue the first time. I had a sewer problem, and the guy that came out here looked around, and told me there wasn’t anything he could do because there was no access. I called my direct person and he sent someone else out here to do the job. He also reimbursed me the money that I spent out of pocket because it was something that Choice covered. Maybe Choice shouldn’t use that company anymore because they were absolutely useless.

    The lady sent out here to do my lock, though, was awesome. And the other person who was my direct contact has s been very good. I’ve had no problems out of Choice. Everything’s been okay with me so far.

    This company is a total scam. When I bought my plan the gentleman was crystal clear, I pay $75, and if they can’t fix it, they replace it. This is not true. When my water heater had to be replaced “my part” of the cost was thousands. I paid a lot more through the warranty than I would have on my own. Then the water heater leaks and they denied the claim saying I had “water damage” and my policy only covers normal wear and tear. Well what made it leak? Then I disputed it and got a call from one of the nastiest people I’ve ever spoken to. I didn’t even argue with her. She basically started the conversation telling me to piss off in the rudest possible tone. I’ve had other claims. It can take weeks, no exaggeration, for them to get someone out. When my water heater broke I waited 18 days to have hot water again. They don’t use reputable contractors either, it’s like they find these folks on Craigslist.

    Do not use Choice Home Warranty. I had an issue with water heater and they wanted to send somebody that was 2 hours away and was not even licensed to do plumbing repairs. It was just some guy with a truck and a ladder in his reviews were but 2.5 Stars with nothing but complaints. This is how Home Choice warranty operates. They send out non-qualified people to save money while ripping you off. You are honestly better off just paying it yourself or paying somebody else to do the work that you know in your family. You've been warned. Do not use Choice Home Warranty. Same with American Home Shield. I've had them both. Choice Home Warranty is garbage. I would absolutely 100% not recommend them

    This is my second term with Choice. I first signed up three years ago, and they did what they said they were going to do, so I decided to go back with them and purchased another three-year contract.

    Prior to this last experience, everything had been great. I could call, speak to a real person, and they would transfer me to someone who took my claim information. This last time, I was not happy at all. I was dealing with AI and the process was redundant. It seemed like the goal was to push me to submit the claim online. I am at work and can’t do it online. I need to be able to make a quick phone call and get it done. If this is how things are going to be going forward, I’m not happy with that. There needs to be an option to speak with a human without waiting forever, particularly for elderly customers. Communication is everything.

    I’ve been lucky as far as contractors go. I haven’t had many issues. They send people who appear to be competent in what they're doing. The most recent contractor didn’t speak English, so we had to communicate using his phone, which wasn’t great. In a household where ages range from 60 to 94, being able to communicate is a need. The dryer is working for now, but I may need to call back because it feels like it’s getting too hot.

    I also had an issue with a microwave claim. The vendor they sent out said it was pretty much unfixable. Instead, Choice gave us a $400 Lowe’s gift card, saying it was the equivalent value based on the age of the microwave. It was a GE Profile microwave, and $400 wasn’t enough to replace it, which was disappointing.

    I haven’t had any problem with Choice. The techs came out and fixed my issues with no problem. When my air conditioning went out, they came out and did that. They also came for my oven that went out and had to order a part. I’m so glad my oven is fixed because now I can cook and bake.

    It’s not difficult to contact them. I pay the little copay for the deductible. They give a set day and the name of the company that will come out. If I wanted to contact them on the best time frame, I could contact them and let them know what time would be available for me. One time, they said somewhere between 5:00 and 6:00, but I moved it up to 4:00. I also don’t like it when they give me 8:00 to 12:00 as I’m retired and don’t get up early. I tell them I’m available anywhere between 10:00 and 2:00, and they’re satisfied with that time.

    When the technician Munszer saw our report on two appliances and the service calls on two different times, he called and came by earlier than expected. It did not take long to tackle two appliances for which we had called: loss of the ice maker in the refrigerator and lack of the heat element in the dishwasher. He explained what would be needed and the length of time it might take to receive the replacement parts. He was both courteous and informative.

    The service providers they contract with are not all great. I've had a plumber and a washer machine technician that caused more problems after they "repaired" and Choice Home Warranty won't do anything about it. I should have looked at reviews of the people they were sending prior because I'm not the only person that has had this experience with the companies they assign. You're probably better off saving money aside for repairs and choosing your own provider. Moving forward that's going to be my solution instead of paying for a home warranty.

    The response was quick and professional. I wasn't completely satisfied with the amount given. I know it is a used appliance. The contract states they will consider the size options and give a wholesale amount for replacement. To replace the appliance new would be about 2800 so to offer 818.00 is what I would call below wholesale. I was given options to purchase opened boxed items which were more expensive but what I would consider wholesale value at around 1200.00, which is still low but acceptable since you can replace a like item with a like item. Many times open boxed items are damaged in some way. I'm not sure about recommending the company but I have to choose one to leave the review.

    The two gentlemen who came to service our plumbing issues were polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and proficient in doing their job. I would have appreciated hearing from them via phone or text after the appointment was set by Choice Home Warranty to confirm the appointment time as I had a conflict with part of the time during the 4 hour window and needed to let them know so they could adjust accordingly. I did leave 2 voicemail messages, one on the weekend and the other on the Monday before the Tuesday appointment but had to call again Tuesday morning to reach someone to let them know. The receptionist said she’d let the crew know about my timing issue but that she didn’t have time to check voicemails as Monday it is their busiest day. While I was attempting to tell her the reason why checking those would have been helpful she told me to have a nice day and hung up on me before I could finish what I was attempting to tell her.

    I signed up with choice warranty based on Google search recommendations. I had the worse experience. I had septic tank pumping add on. I called to have my septic tank pump. The person that came did not speak or understand English very well. He dug a hole in my yard and said the tank was deep and he had to have a machine. He never looked, opened or made contact with the septic tank, then I get an email that the claim was denied. I called and they told me it was based on the inspection. Ok first of all, I didn't call for an inspection (which isn't covered by the way), I called to have my septic tank pumped. #2, even if that was the case, somebody is lying because there was no inspection.

    He didn't even see or open the tank because he said it was too deep and required a machine, #3, they never came back with a machine and to top it off he did not even fill the hole back up with the dirt he removed so I had a big hole in my yard. For me, CHOICE, was definitely not a good choice. I'm still trying to understand how a claim can be denied for something I'm paying for extra. That's cut and dry, no inspections, no questions asked, pump the D*mn tank!

    Terrible! Had to fight tooth and nail for them to cover minor plumbing repairs (kitchen sink pipes needed to be revealed, dishwater water valve handle was broken). They claimed that these were not "normal wear and tear," but nowhere in their contract is that term defined. Basically, it's just whatever they say it is or isn't. After numerous appeals, they finally relented, but this was after many hours of phone calls, emails, etc. We ultimately decided to cancel them. (Boy, that was a CHORE!) They the the repair costs from our refund, so ultimately, we got ZERO benefit from them. We finally decided to not buy any more home warranties. This was a very BAD Choice Home Warranty.

    I don’t even know where to begin. Well I bought home warranty prepaid for 3 years! (first mistake) Fell for the reviews and I think they’re fake!! They only cover very and I mean very basic repairs! After filing numerous claims over the 3 years I still keep paying 75 $ at a clip for service calls only to either be told I didn’t do preventative maintenance!! I have invoices, always had techs check routinely year after year! The house is ~ 12 years old! This scam of a company always found a loophole to avoid covering repairs! Oh and god forbid you need a replacement part? Never stocked or on back order. They will hit you with $ 75 trip charge for the same item!!!

    Lame company that will cover items like light bulbs lol. Oh that’s always covered. Contract is written by very smart lawyers that make it so you're denied coverage! I bet this company’s owners are riding high w denying claims! All the time!!! As an ex my a/c motor and I have 2 identical units and on one of them the motor went out! Life span of typical motor roughly 10- 11 years! They denied the claim!! Maintenance! And I have records!! Always been anal about PM.     ***** Do not do business with Choice home warranty. ***** Choice home warranty, a New Jersey based company which has been aggressively and repeatedly calling my cell phone number during regular business hours Monday to Friday and asking for information to sign up and finish purchasing home warranty for my home, even though I never signed up or initiated any contact to begin with.     I am currently experiencing significant difficulties, as I have now been without a functioning water heater for seven days with five children in the house. I opened a ticket and the form asked me what appliance needed the service. So of course, I selected the washing machine again. I put in the notes that the tech said I needed a plumber. Still, you sent out the same tech. I paid $75 for him to basically just tell me to open a new ticket for a plumber. It seemed a waste of time and money. There must be a better way to handle confusing, overlapping services than this. I don't know what you can do for me now, but I thought you should know it was frustrating.     My refrigerator crapped out on a Thursday night. Called Choice at about 3pm after having an electrician put in a new plug that the breaker kept tripping. He plugged in fridge and tripped again. Choice was quick to answer, sent help next day. Great guy, he said fridge a goner! By 7pm I received and email that they agreed and offered me money to replace. I thought it was a fair deal since the fridge was 25 years old. I called the next morning because I thought I could go get another fridge, to find out it would take 30 days to receive the money. I am a senior on SSI and have custody of my grandson, by this time the food in my fridge was starting to smell.

    I don't have access to funds and so I had to apply for credit at Lowe's to still end up buying the cheapest fridge they had and by the time they added all the delivery and install and removed of old fridge it was way over what choice offered me. But I have to have a fridge so I will have to pay it. They will be delivering on today on Sunday. Most of my food has gone bad now. Put as much in coolers but the freezer all thawed out! I would give Choice a 5 stars for their service but the 30 days wait for some people is not possible on a refrigerator! Everything else was great.

    I have Choice Home Warranty service for last 13 months. While I would hate to have an appliance breakdown but it happens. My Washer was broken and electric stove was out. On both breakdowns they charge $75 for someone to come and visit which is fine but they never have someone responding within 24 or 48 hours. On both occasions it took them at least 5-7 days before someone showed up and that doesn't include repairs, it's just to assess. All repairs require approvals and that is more days.. Not a reliable option.

    ⭐️ If I Could Give Negative Stars, I Would. I’ve been a customer of Choice Home Warranty for over five years and have paid them thousands of dollars in premiums. Every time I’ve filed a claim, they’ve failed to cover even close to the full replacement cost. This has happened with multiple appliances — including my refrigerator, washer, and dryer — where the reimbursement was less than half of what it actually cost to replace the items.

    Most recently, I filed a claim for an 18-year-old microwave where the handle broke off, and they refused to pay anything, claiming “neglect.” After years of loyalty, it’s clear to me this company looks for every excuse not to honor legitimate claims. They’re quick to take your money but slow to help when it matters. Save yourself the frustration — run far away from Choice Home Warranty. There are far better options out there that actually stand behind their service.

    The estimated and technican is good but CHW don’t want to pay money and let me pay too much for copayments, the copayments are almost same to buy new AC unit on the market.     I rated a 3 since the care I received actually deserves a 1 for unacceptable. I don't know who runs the business but between Choice and the contracted LLC the experience was horrible. My initial call on Friday, received an appt. on Monday for my furnace..No communication if I did not call and was a no call, no show on the appointment. Once I was rescheduled it was not even the next day. It was the following day, Wednesday, October 15th! My birthday between 6pm - 8pm. They did show and the Technician was truly thorough and knew his craft! He was pleasant and did call to let me know how long he would be after leaving job before me.

    Overall..I would prefer a better service...But to be honest most service has diverted to this unacceptable customer service. I pray that you all get better with service that we work hard to pay for. If you need help with being better at Customer Service let me know. I can assist. Looking in to a possible new Home Warranty Company. Kudos to the Technician! I would recommend if thing get better.

    I think the repairs to appliances and HVAC systems have worked well. However, my microwave quit working and the technician determined it would cost more to fix than a replacement. The allowance of $194 for a replacement was less than a similar model on sale so I was out $ 75.     If I could give a zero, I would! Had Choice and paid upfront for 5 years of protection. My hot water heater broke, they found a way NOT to cover it. Then a copper pipe leak, again they did NOT cover it. Finally my microwave blew up and after a lot of aggravating conversations with them they had a microwave delivered to my house, but would not pay to have it installed! That was the last straw, it was an argument but ultimately received a refund for the 5 years worth of payment! I wouldn’t have them cover my dog house, they’re scammers and absolutely useless!

    I've been given the runaround for weeks trying to get my dishwasher replaced. After two paid claims, they finally decided it needs to be replaced. I had already informed them that it wasn't working, and an electrician confirmed that the issue wasn't with the electricity or wiring. Instead of addressing this, they sent an appliance technician who immediately verified that it needs replacement. In 2025, a dishwasher costs at least $350, and the model I currently have is priced at $519 from Frigidaire. They sent me a gift card for $279 to Lowe's and told me to buy the dishwasher, install it myself, and cover the delivery and labor costs. Are you serious?

    I strongly advise against using this company; they are a scam. It's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone via messenger or phone unless you call or message multiple times. When you do call, you can't speak to a representative directly; you have to leave your number and hope they get back to you. They also expect you to coordinate with the service companies yourself. What’s the point of paying for an appliance warranty if they don’t cover anything and make you do all the work? Update a month later, still never got the gift card or a check. They keep calling me to renew my warranty, yet haven't even paid me for claims? I tell them that on the phone, they transfer me to 3 people, and the last person always hangs up after saying hello. This has happened 4 times now. Do NOT use them.

    I always recommend Choice to all my friends and family. I have had zero issues with getting my claims processed and everything is fixed very timely. I purchased this plan after hearing about it from a friend. I did not have anything I expected to break but before I got the plan, my washer had broken and I did not know who to contact. Person I did could not fix it and charged me $250. I ended up buying a new washer. My friend then told me about Choice and how they send over qualified repair people and if they could not fix, I might be able to get a new one covered under the plan. So, I got the insurance for "in case" and I never imagined I would end up needing it like I have.

    Just 4 months after getting it, my downstairs A/C went out (the inside unit). Then 3 months after that, the upstairs inside unit died. Choice replaced both. Had I not had Choice, I honestly do not know how I would have handled the replacements. You just never know when something will break and I prefer to pay the cost of the insurance for peace of mind.
