Lousy service. Doesn't matter how small or large a claim is, there is always some way for Choice to NOT honor a claim. The companies that are sent to repair anything always seem to be able to convince Choice that the product was not maintained or the parts or not covered or everything needs to be replaced and forget about doing this. I have paid for 7 years of service and have not received any service because you guys let these contractors convince you that something major is wrong and of course, you are happy to not honor a claim.
These guys then charge ridiculous fees in addition to the deductible that must be paid and customers end up better just calling some random contractor. These guys evidently know exactly what to say to get claims denied. Then they can get the initial fee plus whatever they can conjure up as a charge to do the job outside of Choice. Then, Choice is ready to send an explanation of why the claim can't be honored. This is a hot mess!

My first experience was wonderful which prompted me to renew. My second experience was a lot of miscommunication that cost me a copay for zero (0) work. I recommend a repeat back of any changes and make sure the changes are noted in the new appointment.

I highly recommend this company for home warranty. I have logged multiple claims over the period of 3 hours for my rental property, and all of the claims were resolved at satisfactory level. I already renewed my existing contract for another 3 more years.

I am very dissatisfied with Choice Home Warranty for the following reasons: 1. I had 2 plumbing problems to be fixed in one service call. To my surprise I was charged the service fee for each problem. The person sent was NOT a licensed plumber--he was a "handyman". He did not fix one problem although he charged for it--his excuse: it was a maintenance issue. He offered to do the maintenance for $400 (I declined and subsequently called licensed plumbers who quoted $110 to $200 for the service).
2. I expected licensed professionals to respond to claims--not a handyman who would deny coverage, keep the service call fee and then offer to fix something at twice the highest quotation I got from licensed professional. 3. Trying to cancel contract--can't be done on internet, nor by customer service--must wait for call back from cancellation department. This will give an idea of how Choice treats their policy holders.

I have to admit that I'm disappointed that I had to pay the plumber $701.00, which includes the service fee to replace a water heater. Not at all what I was expecting here at the holidays. What is a warranty for. The heater was installed in April of 2024. The heater was supposedly under warranty from Home Depot. Then Home Depot prorated the heater, CHW didn't cover the pan, ...blah, blah, blah! I still don't know what CHW covered. I'm seriously wondering if the warranty is worth the money if I'm going to pay out of pocket anyway!

I am very pleased with the coverage of the Policy and I have been very satisfied with my requested repairs. However, I am not pleased with your telephone system when calling for service. I called this morning for repair and the automated Customer Service Representative asked several questions regarding my request. The call for service was very frustrating because she talks too fast and I had to ask several times for her to slow down, but of course that did not happen. After getting the information requested, I called back but had to start all over instead of being able to continue where I left off before hanging up.

My claim was denied. First of all the furnace was the issue and a technician had to run through several steps to fix it. I will be making an appeal on this case. Terrible insurance for expensive items. The customer service people were friendly and helpful.

Outstanding ONE DAY service. Southwest Doors & Gates provided outstanding service and found a possible issue which they corrected on the spot. The technician also adjusted the door clearance and lubed all components, and took time to show me where to lube at 6 month intervals. I learned a lesson.

Nica LLC diagnosed the issue I had with my dryer very quickly and it had the part I needed available. He changed the part, and it worked better than before. It took about 15 mins total time. My tech was very knowledgeable, nice, kind, and professional.

He was a very nice man he was doing a great job. He took pictures and made comments on the toilet what he could see when diagnosing the problems. He said he lived in Abilene too. He said he hears that the authorization could be accepted today and it could be scheduled today. He said but its upper to my warranty insurance. The same day I got scheduled the next day.

I don’t think that’s a technician that came to repair my dishwasher really tried to repair it. Also, when I dispute it the amount of money they were giving me to replace my dishwasher. It was less than 50% of the current price of a dishwasher that were comfortably replaced the one I had. They only offered me $272 which was $250 less than any dishwasher at Lowe’s. I am very disappointed in the person who was handling my claim dispute, I had to continually try to contact them, and they never reached out to me on their own when according to the website, they were supposed to contact me when they were assigned my case very disappointed in choice warranty company. I don’t feel they are fair and their adjustments when replacing appliances, fortunately, in the past, I had reparable technicians who really tried to repair what was not working in my home.

The ac heating technician was spot on with his diagnosis. The fortunately, the system was deemed to old to service and the board needed was denied by the company and Choice. I am now in dispute with Choice. Unfortunately, the winter time comets and the season is now cold. Several misfortunes here. Choice can do better. I certainly have a Choice in home warranty service.

So far all my claims have been approved and completed. The only issue so far is the inconsideration of the companies you have hired. Twice now two different companies showed up after the 4 hour window, without a courtesy call to inform me of their tardiness. When I try to call and confirm either no answer or the voice box is full.

The person I talk to was very professional and knowledgeable. I had know issues except for the fact I was very disappointed with the amount of money I was given to purchase the replacement for my dishwasher. The part was not available to fix the one I had so I took the $272 I was offered. I went out to replace the dishwasher and I was shocked at the prices. I ended getting one that had the same features and would have paid $700 on sale, it listed for $899. I then ask if they had any dishwashers that was marked down in price because of dents or scrapes, we paid a little less and brought the one with the dents. I disputed the charge but was told he talked to the team and said he could go no higher. Because of this issues I can not recommend Choice Warranty.

Save Now Cooling was wonderful. Arrived early for the appointment, communicated well and clear, installed the new equipment quickly and efficiently, and made sure everything was working properly. They were great to work with. I was so pleased that I am planning to have them do my twice per year A/C maintenance program.

I have never been more disappointed with a company than I am right now. I’ve spent two weeks trying to get a simple warranty claim approved for an inducer motor on my heater, and the experience has been nothing short of exhausting and unacceptable. First, I was overcharged and had to wait on a refund just to even get my account fixed. Then, when my heater failed—with an internal explosion, no less—the warranty company denied the repair, claiming it was due to “lack of maintenance.” This is simply not true. My licensed HVAC contractor even stated he has never seen an inducer motor denied because it’s a mechanical part that can fail at any time, regardless of annual maintenance.
Meanwhile, I am sitting here in a freezing home, with no heat and a toddler, waiting for someone at this company to do the right thing. I’ve done everything required as a homeowner, and instead of help, I’ve been given delay after delay, excuse after excuse. It’s unacceptable for a warranty company to leave a family in the cold, especially when the issue is a clear mechanical failure that should be covered. If you’re considering using this company, think twice. The lack of support, accountability, and urgency is unbelievable. I just want heat for my family. Instead, I’ve been fighting a battle I shouldn’t have to fight. Not impressed, not satisfied, and absolutely not recommending this company.

So far, so good! I called to open a new claim. I was greeted nearly immediately. No longer wait on hold. The representative I spoke to quickly transferred me to claims. The claims representative took my information and within a very few minutes my claim was opened and I was very happy with the speed and accuracy of the process!

Lonnie Boy Plumbing Company was good. Happy with their service. Only complaint was that it took a week for service to be scheduled. My situation was not urgent but had it been, a week would have been way too long to wait. Hard to believe they couldn’t find someone sooner.

It's been 4 weeks and the work still isn't finished with my dryer. They promise to return calls or texts and I received none. I would like to switch to someone else or have Choice Warranty give them a call. They could at least gave me some updates on the progress of everything. Taken way too long!!! There is no receipt. Seriously, what a joke. The price shoots up $25 right in the middle of the contract, and when I try to cancel, I’m told I’m locked into some mysterious five‑year deal I never even knew existed. Oh, and good luck getting anyone to actually come out — that’s like pulling teeth. Now, apparently, I have to contact agents to come out for repairs. CHW only assigns agents. Not sure what the point is. I am told to pay the guy $100 for coming out and also pay them for the repairs. I may as well pay someone to come out and save on monthly payments.

I made a claim to replace a burned out sump pump. The contractor they assigned is not local to my house, actually almost an hour away, the contractor is professional but unable to complete work in a timely manner. advised backed up on work. I am now 1 week after the date of making claim. Called CHW and was told issue is "availability". I blame CHW for poor handling of claims and contractors.

Was with the company for several years with 2 claims. This last claim they tried everything in the book to try not to reimburse me for a problem that I already paid for. They said they would give me half back like they were doing me a favor. They are also the ones that told me to get my own contractor because they couldn't find one. Very nice, on time, cleaned up after himself, and explained everything he was doing and showed me problem piece that he replaced, had to get at hardware store but was back in reasonable time. Called before he left shop and called when he got here which was nice cause gave me time to get ready, he was in and out which shows he doesn't take advantage of your time and is efficient.

Having a problem with Sears services. They changed date for returning tech from Dec 3rd To Dec 9th trying to communicate with but absolutely impossible. Tried with chat and that too is almost impossible. Already paid the fee to first tech, still waiting for detail of arriving parts but was told by original tech that he would return Dec 3rd supposed to be today but they changed that to Dec 9th. Now, I don't have a clue and their notifications system is impossible. I CAN'T FIND ANYWAY TO COMMUNICATE THEM. Can you advise please. Or maybe you can tell them to call me @** or the lady at the house @ **. I REALLY NEED TO KNOW SOMETHING OR ANOTHER REPAIR VENDOR LIKE THE ONE THAT SERVICES MY DRYER 3 WEEKS AGO. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

My heating system has been inoperative for five days, requiring a part Sears estimates will not arrive until January 3rd. This extended delay is unacceptable and presents a serious health and safety risk, especially with current weather conditions. My attempts to resolve this with Choice Home Warranty have been compounded by conflicting information and incorrect guidance from your representatives, forcing me to seek temporary accommodation.

My mom experience with the tech was good, my experience with the Choice Home Warranty claims person was not. The claim specialist repeatedly interrupted me while trying to explain what’s the tech told me while at my house. I became so frustrated I had to hang up.

I am a current CHW policy holder and my gas water heater claim has been a nightmare. Normal cost for a 50-gallon water heater in my area is about $2,200, but CHW only approves $835 and forces contractors to follow their price limits. This pushes inflated “non-covered” charges onto homeowners — they tried to stick me with $1,400 out of pocket. CHW also uses low-rated contractors who often are not properly licensed or insured. When I asked for proof of insurance they refused. 1 month later my water heater is still not fixed. Be very careful with CHW!

I’ve had for 2 years. My experience with them has always been great. I’ve had multiple clams and all the technicians were great. My only issue is when sending out the e-gift card to replace an item, that card should be sent with the approval email from Choice.

Our technician was on time, knowledgeable and fixed the issue in about 90 minutes. Checked all avenues until the problem was solved! The process from start of the claim to finish took a very long time. We have used our warranty 3 times this year with our new home and the time that it took for them to assign someone was really unreasonable. That part of your service really needs to be addressed and adjusted. If it were a huge emergency we would have been stuck for over a week.

I put my claim in on Friday night and on Monday morning a technician from Pro Price Heating & Cooling, LLC was here. The technician was very nice and professional. He arrived on time and explained what was going on with our A/C. He was able to fix it in the one visit. Thanks for the quick response and for fixing my A/C.

We like the prompt response whenever we request services needed at our home. It is easy to submit work orders online. The waiting time to get a response from the technician to provide the service is not long based on the needed service. We have not experienced anything that requires emergency services, so I don't know how long would it take for you to respond. I am hoping to be as speedy as the previous services we had requested.

Living in a home that’s almost twenty years old, most large home equipment and appliances are aging. We opted several years ago, by a friend's recommendation, to sign up with Choice Warranty. We’ve never regretted it. Repair companies that were sent, were professional and competent. Choice has been timely in response and their coverage is extensive. Not having a warranty company makes no sense when outside repairs can cost hundreds even thousands of dollars for just one appliance.

I had a leak under the kitchen sink and I thought I was going to be forever to get someone to look at it. Put request in CHW and T&T Plumbing was dispatched and showed up within 48hrs later. Not only did technician show up earlier than scheduled but fixed issue within 30 minutes. Very impressive.

I submitted the claim Tuesday morning at 11am and someone was here to fix it at 1:30pm. Best service. No issues whatsoever. Fast. Efficient. Friendly. They have never refused any of my claims. They always respond with a couple of hours regardless the time you enter the claim.

Submit a claim on a GE oven and a Sears technician got here 3 days later, which is really great, the technician ordered a temporary sensor and lower heating coil, another technician came 1 week later, installed parts and left, the oven didn’t heat. Got and appointment from Sears and that technician called and canceled, finally got the first technician back and now we have an over that heats and works properly. All this took 3 weeks, not Choice Home Warranty fault.

Choice was able to dispatch and approve a plan of action right away! Their choice of contractors are also great, sending someone reputable, bonded and insured. Right now we're just waiting for the claim to be completed. We are yet to see what is covered in our benefit.

This is the biggest scam company of the century! If the repair is large they will get more technicians to come out until they find one to say what they want to hear so they can deny the claim. When I asked for a copy of the technicians report they said there was no report, that it was all done verbally. This is ridiculous!!! Even an idiot knows there is a report when someone performs an assessment. Liars!!! The claims person they connect you to has a well rehearsed speech about what to say and what not to say. Please don’t waste your money on this non-reputable company!!!

I came to Choice home warranty after they offered better deals and service from my previous home warranty company, the first few years they covered things without issue, but as of the last 3 years they have denied every claim for the dumbest reasons. The latest and final straw was my oven's baking element went out and they claimed spillage inside the oven cause my baking element to go out. As in they think liquid penetrated a sealed metal box to get to my baking element underneath, and when I called them out on it, they changed their reason to say it was extreme heat…. It’s an oven, it gets hot…. Ultimately would never recommend them to anyone, they were great for a while, but since 2021 they have been awful. They have also increased premiums every year and service call fees, so essentially paying $100/month for the middle service tier. That’s a lot of money I wasted hoping they would start being good again.

Tech who analyzed our problem quickly discovered the problem, he did not offer to fix it or recommend what I should do. Neither did Choice offer to help me find out who improperly made the last repair. All CHW did was deny my claim as usual. Choice is more interested in denying my claim instead of helping me resolve the problem. If I could get out of my contract and receive a prorated refund I would do so immediately.

It took a bit longer than the 24 to 48 hours they advised to get someone scheduled, but I live in a small town, and I am assuming that is the reason. Once they did get someone scheduled, I received an email from the contractor for the date. He called that morning to confirm the time. He was a great guy and fixed the situation promptly, explained what had happened, and was just really nice.

I was really pleased with the customer service and professionalism Seth from Smooth Air Heating and Cooling provided. He explained in detail what needed to happen to complete the job, as there was a broken part that held the water for the radiant heating. Unfortunately, with an older heating unit, I had to wait several days for the part to arrive. Once the part was delivered, Seth called me immediately and scheduled me for the next morning, just in time for the cold front we were about to receive. Again, Seth and his crew were very quick to take care of the job, and always remained professional.

As always you guys came thru for me. The plumber did smell of lots of cigarettes and he really didn’t know why we had the leak. But hopefully it was the shower head and the leak has stopped. He also informed me we may need cocking around the tub. But he said they don’t do that. Strange.

Filed a claim for a leaky water heater 10/19/25 and it’s now 12/01, 4 different technicians have been assigned to the claim, still waiting for new water heater. Customer service claims it’s normal to wait 30 days for problem to be resolved. Beware of contractors as Choice states they are independent contractors and they have liberty to charge what they feel it’s appropriate. It’s impossible to cash out due to no transparency in their cash out policy.

I have a warranty with Choice Home Warranty. My heater is not working. I contacted them about a month ago to be sure it would be resolved by the cold weather. Well, it’s now 22’ and snowing and I don’t have heat! They kept rescheduling my service call, then a tech came out and attempted to work on unit for hour and half. He burnt the wires and told me he had to send someone else out with more experience on this unit. Then he disconnected so I would not have a fire. The next tech came by and sat outside in his van, but never entered my home and determined unit had to be rewired so I was informed this was not covered. Now Choice and service company are both refusing to help. I am not able to find email for headquarters or CEO. I’m in a wheelchair and it’s cold! They refuse to help.

Thanks to Home Warranty my ice maker was ready for Thanksgiving. Whenever I call I am helped in a timely manner. If I have to wait for a call back it is not very long. They give me my reference number and all is well. They contact the service company and our appointment is set up. They're here within a few days and I'm always with their service.

I've been with Choice Home warranty for over 5 years now. At first, it seems like they would find any excuse not to cover anything. But something has changed for the better. They have been very easy to deal with and all of the trades people they have sent out have been excellent. It is nice to know you can get things fixed that have failed so easily!

I had a hvac contractor come and fix my igniter. He cleaned everything and saw rust. He said the inducer motor leaking. I called choice. Your guy said same. Then you denied me. The guy sold me policy said you always fix/replace. Scam. I will tell everyone thru media.

Had the policy for nearly a year with no claims. Called my first claim for a motor on a macerating toilet going out. They denied the claim as “system not covered by terms of service”. When I called and pointed out the coverage was “toilets and their related mechanisms” they said they “only cover toilets that use gravity and not a motor” and since it wasn’t a standard toilet it wasn’t covered. When I told them the word “standard” is not included in their contract they said it’s “assumed”. When I said I specifically mentioned this toilet in my phone call to sign up they said they “can’t control what sales said”. Go with another company.

It was so easy to file a claim online for my shower that started to leak on Thanksgiving and was able to get help on a Saturday to get it repaired. So much happier with this home warranty company than the other one I had! The last company I was with I had to wait for hours on the phone and it was an absolute nightmare so glad I made the change!

I had to call for emergency service for a clogged drain and this ** company tells me They do not reimburse charges. I doubt if I will renew my contract. If I had known this was going to be the case I would have never signed up.

I really liked both technicians especially the one kid who came on Thanksgiving eve. He arrived in the evening and changed out my garbage disposal in less than 30 minutes. When I hired hundreds of contractors throughout my career as a maintenance manager for one of the Largest companies throughout the US. I would of hired him myself. I did have issues with the warranty department at Choice Warranty.

When having an appliance repaired, there is no problem with getting it fixed in a timely manner. When it comes to water heaters, there is NEVER a tech in my area. The refund process for older adults can be a challenge. This has always been a problem to find someone to do work for CHW.

Keep calling periodically to see what’s going on and he’s telling me he’s trying to find the part but to no avail and now it’s December 1 2025. Washing machine's still not fixed. The representative telling me it’s after 30 days. Nothing they can do. Mind you the supervisor is just as unhelpful as the representative. Is still not fixed and they’re telling me over 30 days they can’t cover it. Did not fix the door latch. Totally satisfied. This company is garbage.

The whole point of getting the warranty is to use it when you need it. The Water Heater has been leaking and it's been 5 days, and they have not assigned any technician. This is the worst home warranty company I ever had worked with. I live in Midwest Michigan and I discovered my furnace wasn’t working around the 1st of October. I submitted a claim and it took forever for them to find a vendor to come out to my home so I opted to take their reimbursement policy and the first company I called on my own was able to come out the same day and I submitted the diagnosis and choice asked for something that the company didn’t provide and they wanted me to pay for another service call and pay for it.
Choice contacted the company and didn’t like what they said and denied to reimburse me for the service call so I had it re opened to have them find a vendor of their liking. They did and they came out and fixed it after 3 weeks. It worked for 1 day and I called the vendor back to find out that choice fired him and he told me that choice refused to pay him for his work and he threatened to sue them so the fired him.
Meanwhile I have no heat and they couldn’t find a replacement vendor so I asked for the protocol so I wouldn’t violate their policy and they would pay my claim. So I found another vendor and they came out the same day and they fixed my furnace and choice denied the claim. They gave me the reason of I had it fixed without their permission when all that happened was from the 2 hours diagnostic they tried a new motherboard and it worked. They claimed that they had a wide range of vendors which was a lie. They don’t pay their vendors or honor their claim. They look for reasons to deny. This is the most unethical company I ever had worked with. Tell everyone never to choose Choice. They SUCK!

Our experience with the tech was good, however we are very disappointed with the coverage, we purchase a home warranty to help to repair or replace large equipment. We had expected that the warranty would cover a large portion of the cost of replacing furnace. However the reality is that we were $2,000 out of pocket, for a repair that I was quoted elsewhere a total of $3,900. At this rate it would seem that I may have paid more than Choice.

Updated on 12/01/2025: I have been trying to find out how we are supposed to get our new dishwasher and no one will get back to me. Here we go again. No follow-up. I will not renew our contract when it comes up for renewal. The last time you gave us 3000 dollars to get a new air conditioner, which cost us 15,000 dollars.
Now you do not ask us where we want to get our new dishwasher. You tell us you are giving us an ecard, but do not respond when I ask how we are to get the card. Where is the card? How do we retrieve it. I haven't had a dishwasher for over a week now. I could have gone and bought one by now and had it installed already.

Choice Warranty sucks. I truly believed that having this insurance would cover the installation (if item needed) to be replaced. Instead going to be given a gift certificate or paper check which does not even come close to actual cost of item. Now I have to carry it from store and pay someone to install it. I am a 70+ yr old woman with hardly no strength. So I cannot do it. From now on when contract is up going to American Shield Warranty where they take of their customers. Even Techs that have come to my home agree. Choice Home Warranty SUCKS!!!!

I have been a customer with CHW for a couple of years and have 12 properties with them and have probably had that many claims filed with them. They are the worst ever. I found that sub contractors do not want to work with them because they say CHW will not pay them when promised, I believe this because I have had several of them tell me the same stories. I can’t get appliances fixed because they can’t find a person who will come out and work for them, so as a customer, you are setting for weeks or possibly months with broken system.
I’m going on third week with no heat in a house with an elderly 90 year old woman living in it and no heat!!! They DO NOT CARE. I have begged them to send someone out. This happened to the same lady last winter with CHW doing the same thing. I have houses in Florida and Arkansas and CHW has the same problem in both places. The subs tell me “I won’t work for CHW! Call me if you want more examples of bad service," I have plenty of bad experiences to share with you. **

It took almost a month to finally decided to replace our dishwasher after the technician couldn’t find parts. Then only to get an offer of $272 to get a new one. You cannot replace a dishwasher for $272 anymore. We will more than likely be canceling our home warranty. It doesn’t make sense to have it.

I am extremely frustrated with Choice Home Warranty for repeatedly sending the same technician who has been unable to resolve the ongoing issues with my heating system. This ordeal began back in September when I first experienced problems with my thermostat connecting to the outside thermometer. Since then, my heating system has been malfunctioning, and despite the technician's multiple visits—at least four—I woke up this morning to find myself without heat yet again. He has replaced nearly every part of my oil furnace, yet the situation remains unresolved.
What adds to my frustration is the cold and dismissive response I’ve received from Choice. When I expressed my concern about the upcoming nights dipping into the 20s, I was shockingly advised to purchase space heaters as a temporary solution. Even when I requested to escalate my concerns to a supervisor, my request was denied.
It’s disheartening to feel disregarded as a customer, especially when facing such a serious issue during the winter months. Choice seems unwilling to address the problem effectively, insisting on sending the same technician until he deems the issue unfixable—or I can opt to pay another service fee for a different technician. This company appears to lack compassion for customers struggling without heat in their homes, and I’m truly disappointed in their lack of commitment to resolving my situation.

Quick & Easy fix. Last company to install AC forgot to reconnect a wire to heater. That was PLATINUM REPAIR. So spent $75 unnecessarily!! The current tech was good. However appointment was changed from 8am to 1pm to 11am to 4pm. But repairman showed up at 8:30am.

Save your money. Whatever you'll pay in monthly fees, just put into savings account. These jokers Took 6 months to get 3 techs to look at our fridge, the whole time they took their monthly payments each month. We lived out of two ice chests, buying $5 of ice every other day to keep food and medicine cold until we were finally gifted 2 mini fridges from a friend. 31 days after last tech "cleaned" and got it running a bit, fridge is back to doing same thing. They refuse to reopen claim, refuse to waive increased fee to open new claim. They refuse to escalate to a higher manager. They should've replaced the fridge if they couldn't get a tech. 6 months was 5 months too long and we're still going.

Choice sent an excellent plumbing expert to fix my toilet where the water was flowing for at least ten minutes before turning off. He quickly solved the problem and never complained about the lack of access, the lid of the toilet being below a fixed shelf. It was excellent value for money as I paid only the down payment. I've had Choice on several occasions to fix problems and can highly recommend them for their consistent good service. Before Choice I had another service plan, but Choice are definitely the best.

He was grumpy and did not explain that he was completing dry wall repair only, no plastering/texturing or sanding/painting until he was finished with dry wall only. He was careful not to break anything in the refrigerator and explain how to repair texture, etc myself. I thought that the drywall repair completed the entire job. Not I have to pay someone to complete the entire job. I am out of $400.00 for a refrigerator error cause by a representative send by Choice and refrigerator repair for icemaker remains incomplete.

It took 2 different visits before the ice maker was fixed. The first tech said it needed a new board and ordered it. Said when we got it to call for another appt. In the meantime, a 2nd visit was scheduled. When the visit day finally came, the tech said the Freon was gone. He Put in the Freon and that night it started making ice. Nothing was ever mentioned about the new board nor did we receive it. It doesn’t seem like any communication within the company. The worst part with this company is waiting for the visit, usually at least a week out and then not knowing if it will be fixed or not. The Sears techs are the most knowledgeable. I don’t think I will renew my contract with. Choice warranty. I'll.

Choice addressed our claim request for our A/C cooling unit with updates that kept us aware they were working on our case. The service Tech came out after contact was made with them to assess the issue. After narrowing down the problem, Choice advised us of the options to decide on for replacing the cooling unit. We accepted, and Peter & River went to work that morning and was done by that evening. We had guest over the holiday at that time, but no one had any complaints. We had a garage door spring break on my house on a Wednesday. We made the report about an hour later they had dispatched a company for the same Friday. Which is to be expected since it was a Wednesday evening when I reported. This is an inconvenient repair because our car was stuck in the garage for multiple days. The company they dispatched rescheduled for the following Wednesday, so we went an entire week without a car.
They also changed the times of the appointment, which is frustrating to train stay home in an accommodate. The garage door spring was broken, but however, the bearings on the rollers were bad. Choice only agreed to replace the spring in that the bearing a little frustrating since we have multiple pieces that are bad. Overall, the door is fixed for now. And everything is working back to normal.

Terrible company. I placed a service call for what I thought was a leaky toilet. $100 toilet service call. So plumber comes out and reseals the toilet. But the leak was actually coming from the shower. So in order to get the leak fixed, I have to pay another $100 for a shower leak service call. I am not a plumber. Just because I thought the leak was coming from the toilet, the plumber should have diagnosed the correct problem. Every time I place a service call, there is an issue with the service. Choice Home Warranty is terribly disappointing.

The technician was very professional. He let me know what he was here to do and the cost then asked to be directed to the job. The toilet flushed, but as told it was a inconspicuous clog. He snaked it three time before a slender paint brush appeared. The second job was a disposal in the sink. It was busted and had damaged the under the sink cabinet. I was surprised he had to convince the company and then pass the phone to me for an approval after a third visit with this problem. All along everything was explained. It was a messy job in a tight spot, but he cleaned up as he went along.

I've been a CHW client for close to 20 yrs. First and foremost the ROI is without question a bargain if you purchase a multi-year plan. The ease of submitting a claim, response time it takes to have a local contractor onsite is well within acceptable limits. This particular review was only awarded 3 stars. The initial claim was denied because there was inaccurate info regarding the existence of the original manufacturer's warranty. (10 yrs for the original owner, 5 yrs for second owner all from OMD). Once I was provided the cause of declination I contacted CHW to clarify this error, I was told that I had to provide proof of warranty details. My only complaint is simple.....Someone took the time to research the warranty info in order to provide an initial no response to the claim. Why not be sure and make an effort to find the correct info and not put that responsibility on the claimant. Fortunately the repair shop was able to assist with locating the correct info.

Travis, the installer, did a great job, but Choice was terrible as home insurance company. My garage door motor broke and it was a screw drive. But they only cover a cheap chain drive-TERRIBLE. There has got to be a better company out there that will at least match the product that has broken and repair it accordingly.

Choice Home Warranty charged me $85 for the diagnosis on why I had 2 toilets constantly backing up. When the tech told them it was calcium buildup in the toilet p-traps from being over 25 years old and that the toilets needed replacing, they denied the claim as "not covered". When I asked them to show me in the contract where this issue was excluded, they could not. As I read it is is clearly covered and and not in the specific list of what is not covered. In the last 2 days, I have spent more than 3 hours on the phone with 3 Case Managers who all said different things but all denied the claim. To me says this company does everything they can to deny claims at every chance they get, even going against the service providers they provided.

When I called for a service for my refrigerator that was not cooling and freezing I was told the technician will come in couple days. I think the service should be done urgently, same day. Good communication. He called early morning and gave me an approximate time he’d be here. Then he called again when he said he’s enroute 30 minutes away and he showed up about that time. He did a quick job for the repair. It was only to get the garbage disposal rotation but I tried for 15 minutes couldn’t do.

Customer’s time is precious and should not be wasted. ETAs should be communicated so that customers can take care of other business during waiting period.

But with one telephone call to the Central Services LLC arrival was a day earlier 25 Nov and completed within the hours of arrival. They have been fair and quick in their response to all my claims, although not all claims have been honored by CHW. In each case when they did not honor, it was clearly explained and reasonable. Our repair technician, John, is always efficient as he has been to our home on a previous call. He makes our repairs and we don't have to worry that it is not going to work. We wish he could respond to every call. He also explains every repair so that we understand what he has done to fix the problem.

Some times it may take a while to get a repairman here. Currently our fridge/freezer isn't working as it should. We're about to lose all our food...and it may take up to 48 hours to get a repairman here? That is not good! In a case like this a repairman should be on the way in just a couple of hours.

Company does not honor the contract to repair or replace. Paid a $100.00 for a repair to come out and tell me that dryer is too old to repair. Even your ads make the the claim it doesn't matter the age of the appliance. Honor the contract. Fix or replace. Case manager doesn't answer my calls. When I appealed the case.

Great, but did not fix problems. Had plumber come out and something is wrong with dishwasher. Appliance person is coming December 1 to look at it again. Hope this time it is fixed or the unit is replaced. I have not been able to use the dishwasher for a long time.

The unit started making a noise on Monday. I filed a claim, and it was assigned and scheduled within an hour and fixed the next day. This was my first claim with Choice Home Warranty and I am very pleased. I am happy to have switched from the old company. This was excellent service from start to finish.

Choice Warranty claims are only good if you have standard appliances. If you have mid to high end appliances they will only pay out for standard appliance replacement. For example my oven is $2998 on sale and they only offer $861 for replacement. So if you have higher end appliances I would stay away from this company. People are polite but sales made it sound like they would replace with similar product. Also you can go online and repair your own for the usual price of a repairman coming out (Service Fee) and still not get it repaired.

Our service technician was excellent. Told us what needed but did not have part but it has been very cold so he temporarily fix it so we would have heat. He said since the weekend was here he could not get the part till Monday and he would be here around 8am. And he was here at 8 took him a short time and it was fixed. I would recommend Nick to anyone. Very sweet and caring. True Value was also very informative and kept us up to date.

RED FLAG!!! I want tell anyone looking for a home warranty company don't choose Choice Home Warranty. From the start the repair technician are sent with understanding that they will get service fee and extra from customer if they state item are outside warranty. So the customer is forced to pay for service fee and over $350 or more for repairs. If you are in need of new appliances during the service call then customer is buying, Not Choice Home Warranty. Buyers Beware! Choice Home Warranty will buy or replace anything state on their Policy.

The technician was knowledgeable. Would have been very acceptable if I could’ve gotten a final fix on something as simple as a little part for the Spicket kitchen. I am appreciative, though that the repairs are due today, a day after the initial call and that everything will be fixed before the Thanksgiving day holiday.

The technician, Dean, was very nice, but when he told me that Choice would not cover the call and I still had to pay the $65 fee, I was not happy. It cost me $490 for what was supposed to be $65. I need an explanation & a refund. I just renewed my contract, but now I'm having second thoughts.

Only because you can't go lower. First claim was denied after telling us to find a repairman. They couldn't. Second claim is currently in limbo after their no show repairman claimed a usable link. We had our furnace worked on and I have to say the young man that came out was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He was with Patriot Heat and Air, a retired vet. I'm certainly happy to see that our vets are being utilized. Also, my mother has a Choice Warranty on her home and has had retired vets come to her home to fix things.

The only good thing to say about Choice Home Warranty is that they provide a high quality of contractors to provide repairs and services. All of the contractors have been excellent. However, Choice Home warranty is completely dishonest in my experience and opinion. An electrical repair was denied "because the wiring is in the wall." Could not find this exception in my contract. Besides where was the wiring in a house supposed to be? My air conditioner needed to be replaced as it completely stopped cooling.
CHW said they would only pay for the condenser coils (the cheapest part of the unit) and I would be responsible for the evaporator replace, freon, code updates and labor. Could not find this in the contract as it clearly stated that the entire unit was covered. Now, I find out that the "covered" garbage disposal is covered only if it leaks, not if it quits working. So, I ask what is the use of this "warranty"? My view, it was a waste of paper that it was printed on and certainly a waste of money!

I've had choice home warranty for about a year now. I purchased the policy because I did buy an older home. The first time I used them was for my air conditioner. Unfortunately, they said they could not repair it. Because of previous damage done 2 by the previous owner, so I was very disappointed on that. I Have called them twice so far. For my washer and they have fixed it both times the second time couple weeks to be fixed because they had to find a part, but they did find the part and I'm thankful for that. Overall, it's a good policy, especially if you're not the handyman type.

The tech that came to assess my pool booster pump was great. He was nice, on time and experienced. He quickly assessed the issue with the leak and submitted the claim immediately to Choice Home Warranty (CHW). Having been with AHS for several years prior to becoming a customer for CHW; I was impressed on how quickly CHW reviewed the technicians submission and approved the work for the repairs. With AHS I would have to follow up with them multiple times and still nothing would get resolved. Thanks AHS for the quick turnaround.

The online portal is easy to use. The only problem I had was the service provider didn't show up and finally contacted me late in the day (appointment was for the morning). Hopefully, the service provider improves their service. We ended up resolving the issue ourselves. Hope that the service fee is refunded.

The fan in my refrigerator broke. I call Choice Warranty right away and the technician showed up the next day at 10:30AM. He had the replacement fan in his truck and fixed it right away. Excellent and quick service which is exactly what you need when the fan breaks in your fridge.

I put in a claim for my washer. When sending over my claim to whirlpool it was coded dryer. the service tech came out to fix the dryer. After 4 phone calls and an email to the company they finally sent out a tech. The tech was in his personal vehicle wearing a track suit. Not tools. I felt unsafe. When he was finished he said he was ordering the part. An hour after the repairman left I received an email they are not covering my claim. They said improper use. If it was improper use, why would the tech say he is order the part. I requested a full refund from Choice and they refused. I would not trust the company. They send techs that are not professional and they do not back up the insurance. They will fix it or replace it. That is a lie. I am a single mother with one child. How could I over use the appliance.

Technician was good. Choice decided to replace microwave. Just gave us a gift certificate for $194 towards the purchase of a new comparable microwave. They cost hundreds more. Additionally we have to pay for uninstallation and removal of old microwave plus delivery and installation of a new one. This will cost additional hundreds of dollars. I am very dissatisfied and angry with Choice.

We had an issue with the lighting in our bathroom. We contacted Choice Home Warranty to submit a claim. The process was very easy to do and we were assigned an electrician very quickly. The electrician assigned was Sean from Power King Electrical who came out on a Sunday and replaced the light motion sensor light switch that had blown. He fixed the issue in no time. He was very professional and friendly. I was very pleased with the service and the responsiveness of Choice Home Warranty. So glad we switched to Choice and will be continued customers.

The 2nd a/c tech did a great job. The initial tech didn’t complete the job thus requiring an additional call out. I feel I should not have had to pay an additional $75 service charge. Please provide a 75 dollar refund to me for having to recontact the company.

There was a slight hiccup on the scheduling, but the vendor was very accommodating in helping me get an appointment that fit my schedule. I was initially given an appointment time of 8 AM on 11/18, but the vendor set the appointment at a window of 11:30 to 2;00, then it had to be changed to a window of 3 PM to 6:00 PM. Since I could not be here during that time they re-scheduled to 11/20 at 8 AM, and they were right on time, had the part on their truck and were gone in an hour. It all worked out great, and I am very happy with the service.

As we do like Choice Home Warranty this time our experience wasn’t as efficient as usual. It took a day to assign a plumber. Then that plumber wasn’t even contacted to CHW for 2 years. So now we have to wait until another company is assigned. When another company was assigned they did come out and fix our plumbing stoppage. Each time I had to contact CHW regarding the amount of time for service and to let you know the plumber wasn’t contracted with your company anymore.

With the dryer it was really quick and it runs like a charm. With the 2nd fridge we are on our 3rd call back and it still isn't working correctly. Every time we have put in a claim there has been a quick response. Seems like they shot for the smallest fix it possible and hopes it works. We'll keep trying. CHW is very easy to operate thou....

The tech from Sears home services came out on time (within the window). Quickly ran a test and determined that the part needed was no longer available. He advised me that the information would be sent to Choice Warranty and they should contact me within 3 days. I called Choice 5 days later, only to find out they had not received the tech report from Sears. I called Sears and they said it was sent. Called back to choice and was told the issue would be elevated and looked into. A few days later I got the notice that Choice received the report, and as the washer is 15 years old, they would offer me a Lowe's gift card to purchase a new machine.
