After checking the operation of the clock/oven control it was determined the control was defective and needed replaced or repaired.     Fraud Fraud Fraud alert. Choice Warranty upped my service fee without warning and denied my claims saying it wasn't wear and tear like I stuck my hand in my ice maker and broke it or melted the piece on the dishwasher. I will be leaving and looking for another home warranty company.

    I would reevaluate how effective (being able to measure) or genuine you are regarding your “commitment” to providing your customers great service. I recently submitted a claim for a leaking water heater. First, it took almost four days to get someone to our house to evaluate the leak. The technician concluded that we needed to replace our 20+ year tank water heater. Choice Warranty agreed to replace our “tank” water heater with a tank water. My wife and I are about to become empty nesters, and want to install a “tankless” water heater. After a discussion with At Utah Home Services, I was told that Choice did not approve the replacement of our water heater with a tankless unit. Furthermore, that you would not cover a PENNY of the install for a tankless.

    I will install a tankless water heater, and pay for every penny of it. Choice wouldn’t even pay for the cost of a tank water heater, and I pay the difference. It has become VERY evident that what is reasonable to you and I are vastly different. I paid over $1300 in cash for the warranty. That was the last time Choice Warranty will see a penny from my family OR any family that I can share my story with. Unfortunately I am stuck with this warranty for over another two years. Buyer beware!! I have absolutely no faith in the services you provide. If you can’t even pay for the cost of a tank water heater, then what can I expect when my stove, refrigerator or furnace needs replaced.

    Our experience with Kintex Plumbing was five star. Our experience with CHW was not. We received a computer generated appointment from CHW and and stayed home but no one showed up. When I called Kintex they said these appointments are not accurate and we needed to make one through them. We did and their service was great. After that we got another appointment from CHW that was also incorrect. So we needed to confirm with Kintex again.

    Since this was a "Recall" I didn't expect I would have to interact with the Contract Company A&E Service Technicians, whom I contacted by phone, spending about 30 additional minutes on an issue that was supposed to be taken care of several weeks ago when the Technician first came.     Our experience with contractor was good even though a leak could not be found, at the time. They gave us a suggestion to try and if it doesn't change anything told us to contact them and they will come back out and dig deeper to find the issue. The warranty company should contact contractors by phone instead of email to schedule day/time for appointments. Our contractor was overbooked and we had to reschedule, on the day they were supposed to arrive.

    Ok first off the response time for someone to address my claim was excellent. Less than 24 hours before a company was scheduling an appointment. Where my dissatisfaction came in was once the company that CHW picked, and sent to my home (a company that CHW obviously trusts) told you that my water heater needed to be replaced. CHW solution was to patch it for now, then just fix it again because it was going to break again. CHW wanted a temporary fix to something that was not going to last as stated by the people that Choice sent to me.

    Now I could understand if I picked the contractor, Choice being like wait before we replace. Not only that it was days before Christmas and I had no hot water. I had people coming to my home and you wanted me to wait 'til next month sometime for a part to come in to do a temporary fix. That was totally not acceptable. I had to purchase a water heater on my own. Now the company that CHW sent out did the work and did a good job but I had to pay them over the service fee amount because CHW wouldn't pay. At that point I was like why am I paying CHW. I could have just called a plumber myself and just paid them. If I had been on a month to month plan I would have cancelled it and went to another company.

    We purchased the home warranty and used it twice for the same appliance. The second call it was deemed not fixable by the claims dept. It seems they don’t really want to fix things that are broken, just give you a settlement for less than half the price of replacement for an appliance that is two years old. It’s not worth the price of the yearly warranty if they won’t replace the unit that’s broken. Oh and you only get one choice for settlement, an e-card for a specific home store…Won’t be renewing that’s for sure.

    Our washer has been working for almost 5 years. It started to leak. The tech came and showed me the leak and said it could be fixed. Choice emails the next day that they would NOT cover the washer because it was DAMAGED.?? My wife and I are 74 years old and nobody we know would damage the washer. It just leaks. Where it is leaking is internal to the machine and you could not hit it accidently or do anything to it without taking the unit apart. They could say this about any appliance in your home and you have no recourse. Rip off, fraud, you pick the adjective that describes this company.

    I'm disappointed in the service I received! Customer service representatives speak poor English. When you buy the warranty service you speak to someone in the United States that speaks very good English! Afterwards when you call the customer service that's when there's communication issues. Where you're trying to understand each other. I went a whole month trying to get a contractor out to my house. Finally someone came and then I was denied the claim after they sent another company out.

    I've had another warranty company before I changed to this company. I switched to this company because a friend of mine told me about it and she was saving money! It's not worth it! I'm not happy with this company at all! Their contractors have very poor ratings! And one of them didn't answer his phone when I called. It went straight to voicemail and the voicemail was full! And I was told the first contractor was unable to handle my job and they had to sign someone else to me and wanted me to pay another copay.

    Referred Plumbing company - excellent. Choice Warranty - very dissatisfied. Submitted claim for broken water heater on 12/15/21. Claim processed for leaking water heater and was denied, received denial email 12/20/21 with instructions that an appeal could be submitted via email. Received email from case manager Sylvanna ** 12/21/21 at 8:33 am indicating I could call her. I did, not available, would call back.

    As of 12/24/21 4 pm CST no response. I contacted referred plumbing co on 12/20/21 about denial and scheduled a replacement install for 12/24/21 at 8 am. Work was completed as scheduled in less than two hours. Technician was surprised that warranty company would have denied my claim as there was no way the water heater could have been repaired. What good is the warranty if it would not cover an unrepairable situation. Went over a week without any hot water. Appears that Choice Warranty is what they say they are a "For Profit" organization. Will never trust Choice Warranty again.

    The warranty is decent. The biggest problem I've run into is there are some things they just don't cover which is not made clear. When you buy a home warranty it should cover everything in the home. But there's been two experiences where I have way to go well that particular thing in your home is not covered such as when they were repairing a handle. They couldn't exactly figure out what the problem was and then just change it to "we don't cover that" which was unsatisfactory. And the second time I had a leak in the tub and the guy came out and said that they don't cover if it's anything to do beyond the plumbing, if there's an actual leak or crack in the tub they don't cover that.

    There needs to be a lot more transparency and to what is not covered rather than the way you was pitched to me is it covers everything inside the home. Well the tub is inside the home, and a shower handle is inside the home, shower doors are inside the home which have also been told and not covered if they ever break. I would rather pay a little more just to have everything covered and not have to pay this guessing game of what is and what is not covered. If I ever found a company that just said you pay a flat fee everything is covered I would rather have that company than the guessing game I've had with Choice.

    I used to be with Old Republic for years and they were more expensive but they also covered more things and were very clear on the things they didn't cover, and that's what's choice to warranty need to better transparency as to what they do or do not cover or simply raise your rates and go to a plan that is a covers everything inside the home plan like it's pitched not with all the little loopholes that you find out months or years down the road.

    Basically, my experience started out very poorly. The first tech arrived with no tools or diagnostic equipment. He spent a few minutes staring at the dryer and decided it was the fuse. His partner was mostly concerned with getting his service fee. They left with the statement that an "expert" would be sent in a week to fix. When the expert arrived, he also had no tools or even the fuse or any other parts for that matter. He said not fuse, but either motor or fan belt. and he left.

    By the way, experts were from a medical imaging company that does this as a sidelight (HA!). They never came back and the claim was reassigned. This tech actually did what the rest were supposed to but his recommendation was that due to age and amount of work that would be needed he recommended replacement. We did accept that although the amount of money offered did not nearly come close to replacing the dryer we had, but by this time we had been without a dryer for a month. The CHW (Clark, I think) was courteous and helpful. Needless to say, the first group Quantum Diagnostic Imaging should never be used again. They are useless. I hope they are better at repairing medical equipment than dryers for the patients sake.

Refused to fix the problem with toilet because I was not responsible for problem. $290 later the issue is fixed. And the $85 service fee plus $63.25 monthly payment. And to make matters worse, somehow the shower knob breaks (yes technician says he didn't touch it). After having to make another claim they finally agreed to fix it after I get the part. Luckily I was able to get the part for free and CHW will pay for the tech to install it when it arrives. Tech told me this, haven't received any information from CHW yet.

It was a clear example of how not to show a sense of urgency, how not to attend to a need, and how not to do a small bit more to complete the job.     The reason I'm giving this only a "satisfied" is that we had to wait all day for the technician to show up. Original scheduled time was between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Erica in the office kept me advised as to when the technician would be there. She told me that they had an emergency repair that would put us out until between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. The technician finally showed up after 7:00 PM.

    I am more dissatisfied with Choice Home Warranty than with the technical team. It appears that the vendor that you chose is a very small vendor with only a couple of people on their staff. It was impossible to contact you on the phone because of long hold times. I would have liked to have spoken with somebody at choice warranty and had a choice of two or three vendors to choose from. I at least had a choice of vendors from my previous warranty company, and I'm seriously considering asking for a refund of the remainder of my $2200 and choosing one of your competitors.

    As a customer of 2 years, I do not recommend this company because they are not customer service oriented. During my tenure, I experienced problems with their contractors who did not want to service my appliances, contractors who did not work with Choice Home Warranty due to nonpayment, delayed work on appliances that took up to 3 months to repair, and in general, the inability to speak to a person immediately when there were such problems. The agent would take my information for someone with any authority to contact me in 2-3 days.

    Yet, my premium increased from the original price of $122 monthly the first year to $135 monthly the following year to $160 monthly projected for 2022. I have decided not to renew due to these issues. I tried calling 10-15 times to discuss my policy but was unable to reach anyone in billing or membership. Interestingly, despite their unresponsiveness, they have continued to bill me and increase my premium. I DO NOT recommend this company because of their poor customer service and unacceptable customer sensitivity. They always try to sell you annual and multi-annual contracts which serve their purpose and not the customer's.

    I've had great experience with CHW thus far. I had a water heater go out and CHW sent a contractor who didn't submit diagnosis until days later! Meanwhile I have no hot water and out-of-town family came in. I took matters into my own hands and learned I could replace the part from the local Lowe's. Simply replaced 2 thermostats myself! Contractor should have had replacement parts handy or went to Lowe's or Home Depot! Needless to say he shouldn't be used again.     Choice has been very frustrating for me. Major things happen and I dread calling the warranty company because it takes too long to get someone out. No hot water starting 12/13 wanted to send someone out 12/24! After hours of dickering with people in Philippines and NJ able to use my own plumber. Took days to get it in and for it to be denied. The Choice claims guy flat out lied and said the pex pipe was physically damaged. Not true, my plumber even told him there was no physical damage and that the part failed. Now I’m waiting to appeal the decision.

    I have seriously disliked having Choice Home warranty and dread something going wrong because I have paid them over $1,300 and having to wait longer for a Tech to come out and then getting it approved!! They sell you on worry free by having the warranty, not true it causes more worry and stress! They say fix or replace broken item, not true they have an F16 rule that they only pay for the cost of the for example: built in microwave, they do not actually replace it, they just cut you a check for a lesser amount and you are still out a working microwave!! You must go and buy a new one and pay to have someone install it!! Buyer beware I have remorse!!

    The wait time for the first appointment, in my opinion, was too long but since there was no urgency I did not request an earlier appointment. I then was managed by a virtual assistant. I was told that my appointment needed to be rescheduled. I am not sure what would have happened had I not called.     Dishwasher replacement. When purchasing the home warranty plan, I was never told that installation would not be covered. I was also never told anything about only being given wholesale price for reimbursement of appliances. How am I to buy wholesale?
