    I was told my dishwasher was to be replaced, but I only got limited funds to replace it. I haven't received any funds yet because I ask to speak to a counselor. I canceled the request to speak to the counselors and I requested the funds you allowed me to get and I'm still waiting for the Lowe's card so that I can purchase a new dishwasher. I didn't read the small print on the agreement. Question - why say that you will replace and give only half the funds for the purchases? I don't get it. I have already paid for the item by paying your monthly fee. When I receive my Lowe's card I will re evaluate my experience with you.

    Choice has been very timely in getting repair technicians out to my house ASAP when they were needed. This has been greatly appreciated, especially when some of our problems occurred during the busy holiday season. The only thing I can imagine them improving is having automatic claims notifications being a little more detailed - for example instead of just saying "your claim was approved" it could tell me what the claim is exactly "your claim to repair X item and replace item Y was approved." That would have saved me the trouble of having to call Choice to ask an associate what exactly the claim covered and didn't cover.

    The response time for CHW to get a technician was much longer than hoped but The gentleman who came to inspect the appliance was knowledgable and informative. He correctly anticipated the failure of the control board to be expensive enough to warrant a replacement. The amount initially offered by CHW was hardly enough to pay the labor cost of replacing a built in appliance let alone the cost of the appliance itself ($329). On appeal the amount was increased to ($1080) close to 50% of the cost of buying the cheapest comparable replacement appliance I could find ($2333) but still puts me out of pocket over $1700 once I pay for the new appliance, labor to install and taxes.

    I am quite disappointed with CHWs performance relative to what they offer. This is the third item I have had issues with on claims from Choice. The other two they refused to pay at all. On top of all of that, based on conversations with multiple technicians that I have had to call myself when CHW could not get someone, they apparently either pay the techs poorly or refused to pay them as well. This makes it so that the techs do not want to respond if they know you have a Choice Warranty.

    Working on my commercial freezer. My freezer broke down and quit. Oregon they ran out of Freon. Has got a hole in it someplace.     I would like to suggest that for seniors on a fixed income/budget, it would be nice to cap their monthly premiums and not increase them each anniversary date especially if they have needed and used the services very little. We started about 3 years ago at a monthly rate I believe of around $40 some per month with a $75 service fee. In 2020, it increased to $50 some per month and either a $75 or $85 service fee and last year 2021 we started paying $60 some per month plus $85 service fee. Therefore, this year at our anniversary date, it will increase probably about $10 per month to $70 something. Don't know if the service fee will increase again.

    I know you can prepay a 3-year warranty for around $1400 something or make over $300 per month for about 4-month payments, but that is not always easy for seniors who are paying their increased utility bills, increased health premiums, increased medications, increased food bills, etc. Plus, there is no discount available for seniors who are veterans and served our country. Is it possible for the company to review and look into this for seniors? Thank you.

The reason for four stars is that the service tech wrote "power out" which I already knew.     When I purchased the insurance I asked multiple times to different folks who were attempting to get me to sign up for coverage if the deductible was all I would pay if a system needed to be replaced. Each person said yes, my only cost out of pocket would be the deductible. Turns out, that was a huge lie. They only cover up to $500 for repairs/replacement and install.     On 12/24/21, I sent a message to CW that my washer was not working properly. On 12/26/21, I rec'd a call from the technician saying he was coming between 5p-8p that evening. I never rec'd an email from CW about this appointment. The technician came and advised me something is wrong with the washer transmission and he is going to recommend that the washer be replaced. He said I should hear from CW about the allotment i will get within 2 business days. On 12/28/21, I sent a message to CW asking why I haven't heard from them yet. Their response was they have not yet rec'd the technician's diagnosis.

    Later that day on 12/28/21, our dryer stopped working and I sent a claim request to CW. I did receive an email indicating the technician will come on 12/29/21, between 11a-3p. When no one showed up by 3p, I contacted the technician and he said they are running behind and someone will be to the house between 5p-8p. At 5:30p that evening, I called the technician again and he said he was in Lancaster finishing a job, then going to Harrisburg then he will be at my house. At 9p, I tried to call the technician to see where he was, there was no answer. The technician never came.

    Early the next morning, I called the technician and he said that the technician who was supposed to come to my house was involved in an accident on the way to my house. I asked why I wasn't called and the person I was speaking to said, he himself only found out earlier the next morning. I can understand that the accident to priority but a call would have been appreciated. The person I was speaking to said he would come later in the day between 5p-8p.

    The technician showed up, made a couple of checks and indicated that some electrical component burned out so he was going to recommend that the dryer be replaced to. He said he would send in his report that evening or early the next day. I asked him about the washer diagnosis and he said he turned it in the day after he showed up for that which would have been 12//27/21. I told him that CW said he had not yet turned it in.

    I waited until 1/3/21 and still had not heard anything from CW about what I was going to receive to replace my washer and dryer. The excuse I got was they still had not rec'd the technician's diagnosis. I told them what the technician stated that he had sent them. We could not wait for CW to get back to us with their allowance as we had out of town company, a small child and laundry already piling up for a week. So we went to Lowe's and bought a new washer and dryer and scheduled delivery knowing what the technicians diagnoses for the 2 machines was going to be. On 1/5/21, I contacted CW again and again they stated they are waiting for the technician's diagnoses for, now both machines.

    On 1/06/21, I spoke to Customer Service Supervisor Fernanda. She was toeing the company line saying she can't do anything until she gets the diagnoses for the machines. I told her we can't wait and she said I should have rec'd a new email indicating that they were scheduling another company to come to the house to look at the machines. I advised her I did not receive an email so she told me that they were scheduled for 1/20/21 (2 weeks from then). I told her we are getting the new machines delivered on 1/8/21, and the old machines were going to be taken away. She told me, if that happens then CW will not send us any replacement value for the machines because a technician hasn't reported in to them yet.

    I told her, "That's ridiculous. Technicians have been scheduled 3 times to come and look at the machines and one time they didn't show. He told he was he was going to tell you, that they needed to be replaced and we can't wait for a month to replace them." She said, "Sorry but those are the rules." I told her, "Well the rules need to be tweaked because I'm sure the rules did not consider the current circumstances." She told me by me replacing the machines without authorization, I violated the contract. I told her I did have authorization. The technician that CW hired and represents advised me he DID send in the diagnoses, he did tell me he was recommending that they be replaced and no one should be expected to wait a month to replace necessities such as a washer and a dryer! I told her it shouldn't be on me if CW lost the diagnoses!

    I asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me she is the highest employee I could speak to. I asked her again to let me speak to someone higher in the chain of command and she said there was no one. I told her, like CW was lying to me by telling me they didn't receive the diagnoses, she is also lying about there is no one else I can elevate my complaint to. She said she will transfer me to the Resolution department which I gladly accepted because I found her to be, not exactly rude, but not understanding of the situation and trying to resolve it. She simply was sticking to what she felt was the process without any compassion for the situation.

    I then spoke to Daniel from the Resolution dept. Within a few minutes of explaining the situation, he offered me $275 for BOTH machines as their replacement value without the diagnoses. I felt that was ridiculous because I just spent $2k on new machines and $130 for the technician to look at both so I was actually only getting $145 for both machines. What's the sense of getting a warranty plan if the replacement cost was not worth my while? I counter offered and stated if they'd give me $500 for both machines, the matter would be resolved. He said he couldn't do that. Now, it seems funny that he immediately offered me $275 for both machines not knowing anything about them but had no discretion to meet my counter offer. I then asked to get out of the CW contract that I had purchased to cover 3.5 years for $1344.00, which I paid already. He stated he could cut out 1 of the years and refund me $644.

    I accepted because I want to stop dealing with a company that tries to rip you off and make me feel like I did something wrong when all I was doing was cooperating, paid my obligations on time and all I wanted what was what I was due, a reasonable replacement offer for the broken machines and a timely response from CW, neither of which I got! Your company does not come through with what they promise to do, quick, pleasant and reasonable replacement values to replace machines. I am going to further pursue other avenues until I recoup all the money I have spend and compensation for all the time I have wasted dealing with your employees!!!

    I am very upset with the service from Sears. They were assigned to me on Dec 11 for washing machine repair. A repair came out on Dec 13, assessed the problem and ordered the needed part. After the part arrived, another repairman came out to fix the problem on or about Dec 23. HOWEVER, he said all the parts needed were not ordered so he ordered additional parts. On Jan 5 a repairman came back over to fix my washing machine (3rd visit).. He arrived at my house (my husband saw him sitting in his truck through the window). He never came to the door. H said he was looking over the work order and determined that he couldn't do the work alone, but needed help. He said he was going to list me as a "not home" and try to get some help and come back later in the day. Well, he never showed up.

    I tried to call him a couple of times, got no answer so I left a couple of messages to see if he was returning to my house to do the job. Never heard from him. I called the number on my work order and the lady assured me that he would return on that day. Well, he didn't. I called again today to reschedule an appointment. I got an appointment for tomorrow, Jan 7 between 1-5pm. I called Sears directly to be sure they would be sending an adequate number of men to complete the job. Hopefully they got everything in order and will show up tomorrow and fix my washing machine. Although I do recommend Choice Home Warranty, I do not recommend Sears repair service.

    The technician that troubleshooted the furnace issues, found the gas valve not working. He said the gas valve needed to be replaced and the valve will have to be ordered. As he set in our driveway to get authorization and order the part. We were under the impression the furnace would be repaired as soon as the part arrived. Later on, that same day, we received an email stating your company would not cover the gas valve replacement. We are making monthly payment and a service charge for your company to troubleshoot the problems and the homeowner has to pay for the repairs. To me, that is NOT a good meaning to the word, Home Warranty! In the meantime, the temperature is in the 20 degrees range nightly. We have used your company before with no negative issues. This is the first time we are asked to pay for the repairs on normal wear and tear equipment.

    We asked for service to fix a kitchen sink handle. They would not fix without me finding some part for the sink. I didn't realize that it was my job to find all the parts to get the job done. The guy wanted us to go to some town 20 miles away to get the part or order it. Okay, and while we wait for the part. I don't have a kitchen sink. Do I pay another 60 when the part comes in???! The tub also had a leak on the tub faucet. I tried to turn it so it stopped leaking. The plumber and Choice said that it was not covered. The tub had been tampered with so they were not going to cover the cost of fixing the leak. Again, I'm just suppose to wait days on end for this to be resolved. Rip off!!!

    Two jobs and neither of the jobs were fixed. The tub cost the 60 bucks for the service call through Choice and the plumber charged 250 on top of that. I'm better off calling a local repair guy. Save myself the 60 dollars and pay him certainly less than 250. I have two more years of this service, but I will not be recommending this to anyone that owns property that I know.

    I signed up with Choice home warranty in July 2021. My air conditioning unit stopped working in October. The first company that was sent out, never showed up, did not call to cancel or reschedule, nor return any phone calls. The second company that came out was phenomenal! The unit was assessed and report was sent back to choice home warranty. However, there is not been any resolution to the problem. The HVAC company has been sent out by choice home warranty on three different occasions and choice home warranty continues to request more information regarding the unit and CHW continues to request "evidence" that the unit is broken and cannot be repaired. The HVAC company has submitted the items and it's been almost 3 months and there has not been any action by choice home warranty to move forward to replace the unit.

    I'm disappointed with choice home warranty as it seems that they are stalling by asking for more documentation from the HVAC people who are experts in the field. GGII HVAC has complied with every request. Choice home warranty had positive reviews which is why I signed a contract with them however they are failing to meet their policy and commitments. I thought that they would be better than this and live up to the reputation that they claim to have. It is my sincere hope that they take action by the end of this month (January 2022).

    Do not be misled by this company's promotional deals. There is a reason they are cheap and it's proven by their lack of customer service and their fraudulent ways. When you put in a service call the contractors they hire are very unprofessional, left a mess after the work they did and didn't even bother cleaning it up. They didn't have the proper equipment to do the job which they admitted to and didn't fix the problem. I didn't even feel safe having them in my home. I called to complain and the claim specialist with Choice Warranty basically told me there was nothing they could do and were not sending anyone else out. I cancelled my policy with them and bought a policy through another home warranty company. They transfer you to a manager who tries to convince you to stay with them and offers you all kinds of promos. I declined the promos and confirmed my account was no longer going to be charged going forward.

    The next month they charged my account and I was told the manager put in the notes that I accepted a promo offer which I didn't. The customer service representative told me that they would refund my account and cancelled out my policy which I requested and have in writing. I called back a month and a half later to follow up, only to be told by one of their managers that there would be no refund and there was nothing they could do.

    It is unfortunate that it took almost one week to get a service to my house to fix the problem. Choice assigns a technician, but does not allow the client to find a sooner service that can meet the need. I contacted 10 other plumbers that were able to service our house within two days, but they were not vendors of Choice, so I waited six days for a plumber to come and fix the problem. It would be nice as a client who pays Choice to warranty my house to have a list of approved technicians in a situation like this. I was told it is a systems problem. Quite disappointing.

    I was very surprised to find out that cover all did not mean cover all. My water heater has a small leak and the heating elements would not heat the water. For that reason I was told it would not be covered. I have been a client since 5-3-2019 and this is the first time I have used it. I am paid up until 5-3-2025.     Once problem was resolved everything was fine.     My experiences with the technicians sent to my home have been very good. When the result was that of making a repair, my experience has been good. However on my most recent claim it was decided that a replacement was needed. This is where I have an issue. Any other "Warranty/Extended Warranty" you purchase: such as Auto Extended Warranty, Cell Phone, Electronic Extended Warranty, you may have to pay a deductible, or a "service charge" but the item is repaired or replaced with a something of equal value. In this case, the company is not REPLACING the dishwasher, they are giving me a check for the WHOLESALE cost (which I am not able to by at wholesale rates).

    In my particular situation, the company is issuing me a check for only $246 when the absolute cheapest dishwasher available is $330 plus sales tax, delivery and installation fees. In total, I am looking a bill of at least $450-500, and the company is only giving me $246. I do not understand how this is supposed to be a "Warranty". To me this is a RIP OFF. The case managers response was simply "per company policy..." and kept referring to a policy that I was never made aware of when speaking to the sales rep, was never provided, and never even told where I could find it. So it is really easy to refer to a policy that the customer has never been provided to defend how the customer is being cheated out of at least half the cost of replacing the unit.

    I have had to call to talk about claims and they have been difficult and uncooperative about what needs to be repaired. I had a plumbing repair done, and a second plumber came out for a clogged drain. The second plumber pointed out the first repair was done incorrectly. Choice did not acknowledge that and has stated it needs to be a whole new claim and I'll have to pay the service fee again. Which I don't find to be fair. The second plumber also stated he couldn't snake the drain because of the way the plumbing is arranged, so Choice has stated it is outside normal wear.
