    I had a clogged kitchen sink on the side with my garbage disposal. No matter what I tried to do it would not work. I went online to file a claim that night, the 15th of Feb. The appointment said the 17th but the plumber called and asked if I would be home that day, the 16th. When I said yes he was at my house within an hour. He had to snake it out. He was very pleasant to speak with. He kept working as we spoke. If I needed a plumber again I wouldn't hesitate to request the same plumber.

    I explained in details the location of my spa. I was told that it was ok but would have to pay an additional fee to cover. This I did. Then when I had a issue with the unit, I was told it would be two to three days to get a tech out. With numerous calls, emails and almost three weeks a tech was assigned. The email I got to inform me came late the evening before the tech was to come out. There was no time to reschedule, so I had to miss out on a prior appointment. I had to be home when the tech was to arrive. Poor customer service. Now you have denied service. That's what the three weeks was for, to find a way to deny.

    The roofer that came out to investigate why I have a leak in the roof came up with all kinds of improper things that were done to the roof including hail damage, but they would be happy to replace the roof, so therefore the claim was denied so I got another roofer came out. He spent 20 seconds up there. There was a nail not a roofing nail but some other type of nail that had backed out half an inch and was holding open a shingle. He caulked it, left, didn't charge me a thing. The leak was fixed.

    Mike who repaired dishwasher did a great job. However getting done is another story. Per email I received the repair was scheduled for Tuesday between 7:00 and 11:00.     I called in to get an appointment to have my hot water heater looked at because it didn’t seem like I was getting hot water long enough. It seems to take your company a long time to get somebody to come out. The company did come out and said I needed a new coil. They said they would have to get back with Choice warranty and get the approval and would be back out the following week to replace it. I never heard back and after two weeks I called back to Choice and they said that they didn’t do business with that company. I said, "What do you mean you don’t do business with that company? That’s the company you sent out and that’s the company I paid the $75 fee to. What we don’t use that company?" And the woman said so she sent somebody else out. They came out yesterday. They told me my coils are fine so now I don’t know who to believe.

    The water heater was going bad and the tech said it was developing a leak. It was determined that I didn't flush it and it had sediment in it. I get my heater maintained and flush through my maintenance company every 6 months. I also paid $12000 for a new commercial fridge that they couldn't fix. They are in the denying business, not the helping business. Careful which company you choose....

If we hadn't kept following up on our policy and our claim, we would still be waiting for policy details, and for someone to come out. We got different answers from each Choice representative we spoke to. My husband had to spend most of an afternoon on the phone with Choice to get you to send the tech an actual work order. Basically, my husband did a big part of your job for you, and that's not right. I have a suggestion: develop a concierge-style service, especially for claims, so that your customers work with the same 1 or 2 people. It would provide consistent, more efficient service.

    I’ve only just signed up with Choice Home Warranty and while I so appreciate the service from the sales representative, who gave me what seems to be a very good deal as a senior, I’m really not sure if it will be a good deal given that I do not have a dishwasher, a garbage disposal, or a garage door opener. I do have a washer and dryer, but I’m not sure if it’s covered on my plan. One reason I’m not sure is that there is no physical paperwork provided for policies and when I clicked the link provided for additional information to go to their website for additional information, it’s asking for login information I was not provided and no set-up of account was available. I’ve left a message for a callback today to set that up. I would be more comfortable with a hard copy of my policy, in any case, and I understand that is not available.

    There were also some difficulties with communication initially (a number of texts were sent by CHW to set up a time to get a quote that when I responded, each reply came back that it was a landline.) After agreeing to try CHW I received only one policy confirmation in my email and had to call back to get the second one sent, which has an information error and will hopefully be corrected today. It’s a bit of a bumpy start and for the reasons listed above, I’m still on the fence.

    The plumbing claim it was set up for almost 2 weeks after I called. My neighbor was able to fix it and I called to cancel it. I called Choice to have it cancelled because there were 2 appointments set, one couldn't make it I wasn't sure who to call. Then two weeks later a tech called me to say he was here (Mobile) from Mississippi to fix my plumbing. I told him I had cancelled it with you.     During the first visit, the repairman seemed very polite and knowledgeable. I assume he fixed the issue with the dishwasher (I haven't used it yet) but he left the filter for it in a bowl on the counter. I cleaned it but didn't know where the part came from. He offered to pick up a new fridge filter when he picked up the part for the icemaker. Before he left that day, he put the old fridge filter back in saying he didn't want it to leak while I waited for his return 3 days later.

    Upon his return, he replaced the part for the ice maker, said he didn't get a new fridge filter but again removed the old one leaving it on the counter and started to leave. I asked where the part I had cleaned belonged, and he said in the dishwasher. He then put that part back and left. When I walked back into the kitchen, I realized not only had he left the fridge filter on the counter he also left the ice maker container on the counter. I would expect all parts to be put back in place before you leave a job as "finished". Very, very disappointing.

    I have had this warranty for 10 months and never filed a claim until a few days ago. Filing the claim easy.. Then scheduling someone to come out easy.. However 1st issue was the time frame they gave me was opposite to time frame they told the company so I spent my entire day waiting on them. Repair guy came and pretty easily diagnosed compressor not working on older refrigerator so temp is around 50 (obviously can’t use). So he said I would hear something back from CHW the following day.

    Well after hearing nothing I messaged CHW and they said they were waiting for the repair company so I then had to call them and find out what was going on (seems like I’m paying for a service that I have to do the leg work on) so CHW decides they are going to give me 1/2 of what a new refrigerator would cost so again not so helpful and to make it even worse they said it would take up to 30 days to get the gift card from Lowe's. So now I have to be without a refrigerator for up to 2 months because lowe's delivery time is a month out. I know many people with home warranties that run a lot smoother than this one so I will be getting information from Them and calling around. I would not recommend.

    I put in a request for service which was handled right away. The tech even came out way earlier than stated in the email. Was knowledgeable and did a good job.

    Got an email saying that you were going to replace my washer and I'm thinking great. Then the trouble started. I was assigned a case manager Lydia, I called her 4 times and sent 3 emails over the week and no response. I called again to your office and voiced my displeasure with her. He said he would get me a new rep. Lydia must have been told about this because she did finally call that afternoon. I was only offered 547$ for replacement of my washer. I can't touch one for that price. Lydia tells me that your company replaces equipment at wholesale cost. There is no way for me to buy it wholesale so I'm going to have to come up with the rest. Bait and switch if you ask me. The ads all say you will repair or replace the item not give you a bit over half the cost.

    Then the kicker, it will take up to 30 days to even get the money to replace the item. In the era of electronic transfers there is no reason to take this long. So now I'm stuck going to the Laundromat until I get the money. If this was my heating unit in the dead of winter I would have to wait 30 days to get money for that what would I do? I'm sure hoping none of my other appliances break now. I thought I had peace of mind having this policy but I was wrong.

    My central heating system broke down causing carbon dioxide to leak into my home. CHW denied my claim. It's been 25-50 degrees ever since my unit broke. My home is cold as ice. I'm an elderly disable citizen plus a widow. CHW sent me an email stating that an explanation for me to refer to my Terms and Conditions Section C; however, I meticulously and keep all of my documents and I reviewed all of my documents and I have NO document that lists Terms and Conditions of what CHW is NOT responsible for systems not listed under terms of service.     I only have the complaint of calling for service on my appliance three different times within a year. I’ve paid 2 times for service fee. My refrigerator is having same issue and is damaging my floor with leaking. Meanwhile, my refrigerator is not being replaced. I was told that the service person has to put this in as a reoccurring issue but Choice sends out different companies each time and give no history of previous issues or repairs. This is a negative for the company. If it is about insuring, then the company should insure and not try to go the cheaper route each time. A replacement would have given about a 10 year warranty from the store purchased from. This would keep me from calling for 20 years at least about the appliance. Why is time and money being wasted on repeated issues. It makes no sense. It’s cheaper to replace than to keep going through the same cycles and the customer in turn is happy. Think about it.

    Microwave repair. Extremely disappointed at the outcome of my service Kyle. My microwave cannot be repaired and needed to be replaced. Although the contract states that Choice is responsible for replacing and installing a new microwave, I was told that I had to pay for the installation myself.     I purchased this coverage approximately two years ago and have had 3 claims. First was for a garbage disposal. IT was not covered because they said that part was not covered that was actually part of the disposal. 2nd claim I had to wait 3 months for them to fix our grill. The first technician they sent replaced a part and it worked for 4 days. They sent a second tech out and he said the part was improperly installed by the first tech and he could not fix it because they didn't carry the part. We ultimately found our own tech to fix it which took a month to get reimbursed.

    Now my 3rd claim was a roof leak. Roofer they sent out let us know some shingles blew off and was submitting the claim. They denied the claim because they said they were improperly installed. Now I am in the midst of an appeal to get this reviewed. I was with American Home Shield for 6 years and yes they were more expensive but all the hidden exceptions I have experienced with this company are awful and I am dropping them. I have the Platinum Plan. YOu would never know it though.

    I've been a customer for several years under your old plans that have a ton of exclusions. I haven't always had the best time with you and felt like I was wasting my money but kept my policy in case of a major emergency. I was told at one point that I was grandfathered into the rate and co-pay in order to keep me as a customer and that wasn't true. I talked to several salespeople in an attempt to get price worthy of a longtime customer and they were mostly less than helpful unless I paid the year in full because of some quota I'm sure.

    The person who is my "account manager" was the most helpful and I did end up paying a year in advance for a lower price despite not really wanting to do that.     I just purchased a Choice Home Warranty at what I thought was a fair price. I initially wanted to pay monthly but the person I was dealing with talked me into paying for the 13 months up front for a better price. Which is fine but then offered me a deal for 3 1/2 years coverage and when I turned that down he became somewhat pushy and condescending asking me why I didn’t want that coverage.

    At this point I’m starting to wonder if I even want to do business with you. You would be best served if your people didn’t act like the quintessential used car salesman. When I said no to the extra coverage he was terse and short with me. I understand that they’re probably paid on commission but sometimes they need to accept no for an answer.
