    I really liked how fast CHW responded to my claim. Within 24hrs in submitting my claim I had a technician out to see my appliance. Unfortunately it wasn't repairable. I am thankful that CHW is giving me something towards replacing my fridge and although it's not enough to replace it entirely it's still a good chunk of change to help buy a new one. My only wish is that they had emailed me a gift card so I can shop right away. I was told it could take up to 30 days which to me is a long time without a fridge. I might buy a mini fridge in the meantime.

    I agreed to purchase this warranty so that I only had pay a monthly fee plus a deductible for each transaction. Well my water heater leaked excessively where it caused a flood in my house. The technician came, ordered the water heater. I then get an email saying that I would have to pay 500.00 or I could not get the heater. Why did I get insurance if I would have to pay that amount of money. They have me in a no win position for I need hot water. I am considering canceling my contract and going with nj gas unless something is done.

    I've had a one really bad experience but Choice has stepped up and fixed it for the most part and taken care of me for it. They have fixed my AC, washer, dryer, fridge, and sink. When my AC broke one guy came out, messed it up worse causing bad damage which still has not been fixed. Both fans still need to be replaced because he left the cover ajar and it was sucking in dust which got all into the unit and the motors according to the next tech that came out. He fixed the problem (AC still not coming on) for free but never replaced the motors which was now making noise.

    I also now had to get the coils cleaned because of all the dust which costed me 120.00 extra. They don't do this, and you have to do it to keep up with you AC anyway so I just went ahead and did it early. This really ticked me off, but with all this said when the motors go out I know they will replace them. The only down fall is I will be out of AC for a few days till it comes in or heat depending on which one fails. Nonetheless, they jump on whatever needs to be fixed and their prices are great.

    In lieu of replacing my washer, they offered me a monetary replacement dollar amount of $343. The price of a low-end comparable model is $450-550. Choice was unwilling to increase the dollar amount claiming the contract language. I call it misleading and false advertising. Beware before you sign a contract with Choice. I paid for a 4 year contract in good faith.

    One buys this kind of policy usually based on price. When a need arises, you think "did I make a stupid penny pinching decision". Anyway, It's easy to get on line and find the prompts to get a claim started. Then you receive an email with the name of the repair tech along with a time and date of arrival. (A phone # is listed, if you need to reschedule.) A "I'm on my way" phone call is received and the tech shows up to begin his inspection of the issue. After the analysis is explained the plan of action is reviewed and the work is completed. Just pay the contracted amount and the tech provides your receipt for the completed job. Easy.

    I called on January 21st to get service for my washer, Choice home warranty sent out a repairman the next day. Took my money for the service call and left, 3 weeks later 3 different companies say they were coming out for same problem. Never did... Call after call to Choice ask for a supervisor to call because each time I talked to rep I got a different answer. After 5 weeks another company finally comes out and says I need a new Washer. This Washer is only 2 years old. Paid 575 for the washer new, Same washer on sale for 600 now and Choice home warranty will only replace it for 346 (that what they said they can buy it for, but will not buy it for me and I can not get it and this is how they treat their customers). I would tell everyone to avoid this company.

    The technician sent out to our house was great. You, however, are the worst warranty company I've ever used. A drain pipe rusted through and is leaking, because iron rusts. You however, denied the claim because you exclude coverage due to rust, never mind that rust is normal wear and tear. Very dissatisfied. If my appeal is denied, I won't renew under any circumstances and will advise as many people as I can not to use you.

    This last claim was the third time a repair was not covered. "Repair or replace" has a lot of exceptions. Sorry I believed the sales rep and did not read the contract word for word. I probably needed a lawyer to explain all the exceptions.

    You as the warranty company was very responsive and did your job. However your repair tech did not properly do his. The problem with my dishwasher was a melted wire connector and wires for the door latching mechanisms. He did get the correct new parts a whole wiring harness. But he never installed. He just cut the connector end off of the new harness and spliced it on the old wires. To me this is not a safe practice and should not have been done. Especially on a device that involves the use of water.

    Highly NOT Recommended. I would like to give "NO" stars as it's not worth it. People working at Choice Home Warranty are very rude. Our stove wasn't working, out of 4 burners 3 burners are not working. Choice sent two technician to double check the issue. Both the technician mentioned that all four infinity switches and stove glass top needs to replaced. With that said, our oven door had some issue. According to Choice Home Warranty, door doesn't fall in "Normal" Wear and tear issues and hence they couldn't repair or replace the stove.

    When escalated by us, we were assigned case manager AZFAR ** for our Stove, who was the most rude person to talk to. He kept on saying this is not Normal etc etc. and same issue. We added the technician on our call who provided the report. He asked the technician what's the cost of repairing the switches and stove glass top. When technician told him the cost of the repair work, he mentioned to us, that this is not normal situation for repair and this comes under safety. If this is not normal then what is a normal situation. If the case manager says this falls under safety issue, it highly needs to be replaced or repaired. I would highly recommend NO Choice Home warranty, if anyone are considering.

    The agreement gives the company the choice to pay you a small amount towards replacing the unit instead of repairing it. In my case about only 25% of total cost of replacing the wall mount microwave with the same or comparable unit. They don't pay for delivery, removal and installation. The fund comes in the form of Lowe's e - gift card and it takes up to 30 days. If you want to object to that you have to make appointment with the case manager which takes up to 2 weeks sometimes. At the end when you talk to the case manager you have to haggle for a few more dollars and they respond that the reimbursement is based on the wholesale price. I asked if They can ship the same unit to me if they have access to the wholesale price they said unfortunately they don't do that. The employees on the phone are courteous and polite.

    I called to purchase a home warranty yesterday. Spoke with representative Miles. Courteous and a good sales person, so I agreed to purchased for one house. He asked if I had an additional house I needed a warranty for. At first I said no. But he convinced me to buy for my second home, I asked what additional discount IF I buy for two homes. Miles first offered bigger additional discounts if I purchased for 5 or 6 years.

    I declined, not wanting to commit too so many years until I see if I like Choice Home service. I was offered If I purchased a the second warranty same price I would receive an additional senior discount if I was over 55, well I am 60. I agreed, and bought for my second home. I gave him my credit card info. After a while I received an email confirmation. HERE’S where things are wrong or missing. I did not received a receipt with total amount minus my senior discount, the confirmation or coverage detail page does not show my senior discount, does not show correct policy effective dates/end dates, I was told 14 months for each policy, does not list the roof leak coverage I was sold, and no policy wallet card for my second house.

    I need to have ALL correct information in writing. Today, I called two times, two different numbers trying to reach my sales representative Miles. Both times I called the rep who answered said they would have to transfer me to Miles' ext. Both times no answer for Miles just a VM with but no name. I hope my messages were left on Miles' extension? Also, I felt like the reps that answered, since I wasn’t buying from them they couldn’t assist. No return call from Miles yet. I hope this is just a mix up that will be corrected right away. If not, I'm afraid it’s not a good indication of Choice Home Warranty customer service.

    We received a Choice Home Warranty as an addon to purchasing our home. I now wonder if Realtor get a large kickback just to get us into the system. We used the warranty once. The fees for coming to our home to assess the problem were high. Once approved, the service person informed us he had a personal issue and did not know when he would ever come back out. Choice would only send another service person without another fee. We had the issued fixed by another company at less cost than the original evaluation fee. Once your warranty expires, be prepared to be inundated by renewal solicitations. We have repeatedly said we will never renew, but yet we continue to be harassed. We have had 5 contacts this morning. Just don't sign up. Never sign up even if it is free!

    We have had CHW for the last 2 years for our house and rental property. We had a plumber show up in an unmarked vehicle. He was on the phone with someone trying to figure out what was wrong. My husband knew much more than this so-called "plumber". This was not our first time seeing unprofessional technician from CHW. We paid service call fee and he took pics, we didn't hear back from either CHW or the technician for a week. I had to be the middle person to figure out what the hold up was. Basically my plumbing leak went on from 2/7 to 2/22 when This claim was eventually denied due to improper installation and is not up to current code.

    Our house was built in 1960. We asked how is it supposed to be up to current code? What's the point of getting warranty if they don't do anything even unless e it's not use if it's up to current code. We filed about 8 claims between the 2 houses over the last 2 years. The majority of denied claim was due to system failure: they only cover failure caused by wear and tear. When I tried to call to cancel renewal, the call ALWAYS gets cut off right after they transfer me to "cancellation department". I also noticed that they are no longer on BBB. They probably had really bad reviews and had to take themselves out of it. You should notice how there is no google review either. Very shady. We hope to get our money back if we ever get someone on the phone.

    Plumbing problem. We were told we needed to wait 10 days for a plumber! As you can imagine, we needed help within 3 days at most. We had to hire and pay for a local plumber on our own. The reimbursement process was not honored because their notice was sent at 12:05 a.m.! Therefore, when I woke up (CST) I attempted the reimbursement process at 8:35 a.m. and CHW refused our request.     Preston, the Tech from G-1 Plumbing was on time, conscientious & courteous. He corrected the drain issue to the extent he could with the equipment he had. He also installed parts to correct the 2 running toilets. I do not believe he was sufficiently knowledgeable with the inner parts/components of my tub faucet to stop the leak. The leak was worse afterwards. He submitted a work order to CHW with his recs. I did not fully understand what CHW's response was. CHW acknowledged the faucet needed replacing but said it was under a "builder's warranty." I built my home in 2005. After 17 years I doubt there is a warranty. I asked Preston to cancel the remaining faucet work order. Next, I called a Friend who was familiar with my faucets & builder. He came out, cleaned the inner faucet cartridge & stopped the leak. He did say the cartridge needed to be replaced. I paid him out of my pocket.

    Home Warranty companies I have used, CHW is the third, tend to contract single owner/operators who will work for less because they need the work/experience to grow their business. You get what you pay for. I have used other businesses to do home maintenance/AC/appliance work & they all say they have been contacted by warranty companies but they refuse. My personal experience has been, warranty companies and what they will cover are inadequate for big ticket items & not worth the hassle & time to repair.

I currently have two claims open. One I made 8 weeks ago for my oven, still waiting for it to be fixed. The other is for my furnace.
