    I contacted Choice Home Warranty about some plumbing and electrical problems in my home. The plumber came the next day in the late afternoon to see first and will come back the following day to work on it. The following day, he came and fixed the problems. GREAT JOB! Except one item that he needed to use the "drain snake," for the shower drainage. With that, I needed to call the office. I tried to call the office several times and left messages.     I had AHS before and the monthly charge and deductible were really high and they took forever to make a decision about anything. Choice is inexpensive and fast about decisions made.     CHW has taken great care and I been with them past 3 years nearly. And have made total of 2 claims till now. And made a claim for microwave and was given $191. To have it installed itself cost avg of $140. And after having a tech come in and them not providing the product themself since it was to be replaced they offered cash and I mentioned them even the cheaper one is $300 if they could consider At least a installation cost since they go by product wholesale price as what would cost them fair enough. But if they can’t provide the product and have to pay for the tech visit for what?? They should be able to Install too as I paid the deduction for the visit charge. Or be offered installation cost as 3 years is a long time to be with 1 company and not be respected for the loyalty.

    The technician was great. He/we hoped Choice would fund the repair since we liked our washer. Choice said, "No, we'll replace it," but then gave us a ridiculous low-ball offer that wouldn't even reimburse us 50% on an el cheapo replacement model. It's now several months later, we bought a new washer costing well over 3X what Choice's offer was. We are still waiting to settle. Choice's "we'll replace it" policy apparently comes with strings & caveats that were never explained in their sign-with-us literature. It feels like a bait-and-switch scheme.

    The technician that came to our house did his job well. When he called Choice Home Warranty, the representative kept putting him on hold and asking him the same questions over and over. He was on the phone for 45 minutes and never got an answer for our problem. After being on hold again for 20 minutes, the tech had to leave for his next appointment. He said other warranty companies had the problem resolved in 5 minutes, he was very surprised at how your company reacted to our issue. My son called your company to ask what was going on and we could hardly understand the rep's English. He offered us a cash settlement over email that will not replace our appliance that cannot be fixed. We finally accepted it because we cannot afford to pay another technician to look at it.

    CHW pays for nothing. I had a leaking water heater reported to CHW and initially was told it was not covered only the electrical portion was covered. I immediately told them I wanted to cancel my newly renewed policy and was sent to the resolution department, where I was told yes my water heater was totally covered I was then offered a reimbursement option which I opted for to replace my water heater. This allowed me to get a reputable company near me. I was told how to do the claim, That company came to my house gave me the bill which I uploaded on to the CHW site but what was offered was half of the replacement cost.

    I stated I wanted to cancel my contract and was informed that basically this home warranty scam is nothing more than a savings plan ie if I cancel my 3 year policy, they will deduct any repairs that I have made in the past as well as a administrative fee of 50$. I wasted my money getting this company warranty. I will not be renewing my membership. I wish I would have stayed with my original plan to cancel, but I listens to a person who is paid to get you to change your mind…I guess hindsight IS 20/20. However in lieu of that what has transpired I will be verbally spreading the news.

    I'm not happy at all with the process of the claim for replacement of my kitchen cooktop, Choice warranty is not installing my new cooktop, they rather give me the cost of replacement which is $371 leaving me instead of installing a new one claiming they don't pay to install only to replace, this is not a cooktop/oven combo that I can just plug in the wall. I have two separate appliances a wall oven and a cooktop that sits in the counter space that cut off for it. For me to go buy the item and hire a licenced electrician to do the job it's going to cost me an arm and a leg. It should be replaced and installed by your technician at no cost to me. I hope you can cover the labor to replace my appliance.

Do not know if that should considered as appliance. Where and how the "appliance" is defined?     The salesman are liars and to me the customer service representative are just as rude as they are. I wouldn’t suggest them as a company to go with if you value your family and peace of mind. I just signed with them and I’m three weeks into the agreement and want out, but the crazy thing is there is no one to answer the phones that care enough to handle your claim. So I feel stuck.

    Very dissatisfied with my service agreement with this company. I filed one claim with them and they disapproved it. They said the failure was because of poor maintenance on my part. They will do anything not to paid a claim. I paid them for 42 month worth of warranty ($1512.00). Had the policy for 1 month and 7 days. The first month you are not allowed to file any claims. They charged me a $50 admin fee + $42 prorated policy for the 7 days when I cancelled my policy. Also I had to paid $65 to the tech. that can out to diagnose the problem. A $157 lesson learned. Don't use these people, you will lose just as I did.

    Mohammad called me after I already got off the phone with someone and he was very pushy on the phone with me trying to get me to sign up. When I said I needed to talk it over with my husband he also didn't like that and continued to try to get me to sign up when I said off the bat I just talked to someone and was JUST LOOKING.     Communication between the client and Choice is horrible. My hot water tank went out on Monday afternoon. I sent in the claim that same day. A tech was assigned, and scheduled for the following day. The tech sent in his recommendations for replacement. I received an email that I was going to be responsible for $600 to cover modifications that were not covered in the warranty. The modifications were an expansion tank “which is code”, and a flexible gas line. These have to be done in order to replace the tank, and in my opinion should be covered by the warranty.

    I inquired about the charges numerous times through my case manager. I was unable to reach him despite leaving home several messages and emails. The only information I received was an email to dispute the charge. If I elected to dispute the charge, the claim would be on hold. The first available spot the rep had was into the next week. I couldn’t be without water for that long. The job was finally done on Friday. I continue to get notifications that the equipment has been ordered and approved for replacement. Another example of their poor communication process.

    For a company that states 24/7 service, that is not necessarily the case. All that said we had our service request picked up by the next morning. When the technician sent in their report, it was denied. Had to appeal the choice because a water tank is mechanical, doesn't just store water. The company that we had to pay out of pocket for to replace stated that Choice had approved 5 other units that week and one was really sketchy on approving. We have a young child and couldn't wait for them to decide what they preferred to pay for or if they would pay.

    While the initial diagnosis appointment was prompt (within 48 hours of submitting claim), my follow up appt to actually have the problem fixed had to be scheduled 3 weeks out. In addition to this, I can't even be sure I'll be able to keep this appt, as I received an email that the main part needed has been delayed and is being searched for. So for now, I am only giving 3 stars. To be without a major appliance for 3 plus weeks is NOT a convenience.

    Cancelled my AHS warranty due to poor service and poor business practices with vendor. CHOICE first requested Mr. Rooter who refused to come. I sent complaint to them to Texas Plumbing Board, they were found to be charging for licenses they were not pulling. I was sent a refund for the fraud from Mr. Rooter without apology. (They installed original hot water tank.) Then the second plumber was Henry ** who came from Beaumont and drove 3 hours to diagnose issue. Requested $750 to do job. Rheem supplied part under warranty. Choice would not Pay Mr. ** for time, labor and travel. So he refused. I then had to find my own plumber to do the work and seek reimbursement from CHOICE. Still awaiting final determination on reimbursement. This is NOT the point of having a home warranty. Very inconvenient!
