    My claim was denied for a reason the technician said wasn’t an issue. The technician even went back and told Choice the reason for denial wasn’t a fact. Choice wouldn’t even rereview. The appeal process is bogus. Case manager wouldn’t let me talk and basically said she was just there to answer questions and not get anything resolved. I cancelled my home warranty after 3 years. A waste of money.

    You want My honest opinion.. here it is! Do not waste your money on this scamming company. They tried to fix our $3500 Samsung refrigerator 3 times (putting us out of a fridge for 2 months) and then offered us 900 replacement to buy us out.. The second time is just now happening. Our water heater went out.. They said, "Oh we will replace it but you have to pay $355 to the plumbing company for uncovered costs to replace your water heater." I could go out and buy my own water heater that Is a good brand and 50 gallon for almost that cost!!! Great company to use if you want to blow your hard earned money.

    Mohammad arrived at my home. I took him to my pool pump. Again I mentioned that my pool pump motor will not come on. He tried himself to turn it on and did not turn on.     They do not readily provide repairs but they try to get manufacturers to provide parts first or get the customer to pay extra to finish the job. Instead of authorizing repairs at the time of the service call, they often deny repairs. After submitting an appeal, they then authorize the work. The service company has to schedule another visit. When they are good, they are very good. When they want to try to save money, they try to shift the expenses to the customer.

    I chose Choice Home Warranty after doing research and knew that it was better than Landmark. I chose to get a quote and was called by a guy who advised he could not send me a quote that I would have to sign up to get the coverage documents to review. After agreeing to switch he then began a push for extended plan costs payments. I explained that due to the economy I could not afford over $3000 for 5 yrs. Then he dropped it to 3.5 yrs. I finally agreed but he kept talking instead of just signing me up. This pushy lingering sales technique is irritating.     I just canceled my policy with Choice home warranty. My first claim was for a ceiling fan. The technician said it had a bad motor but never came back out to replace it after I requested them not to bring me a generic white fan but something that was similar to what was previously there. I contacted customer service and it's been 4 weeks since this started with no response. My second claim was denied for my AC. The technician came out and disconnected my unit so now it does not come on at all when my issue was that it was not blowing cool air. Their retention team will try to convince you to stay because they save you money, but they do not choose the best companies to work with from the two instances I had with them. You're better off saving some money away for maintenance needs. I was very dissatisfied with the coverage I received.

    I paid $75 for someone to come out here to tell me that my door is not covered. When I called in I told them exactly what the issue is and that it was the door not the opener not the springs or the hinges. I feel like I could have been told at that point that it's not covered instead of making me pay $75 then wasting someone's time to come out here and look at it when it's in the code that it's already not covered.

    The tech sent to our home was friendly, professional and did a great job. We will definitely use this company again. However, Choice denied our claim to fix the A/C, and did not accept our claim for our broken sump pump that the A/C condensation drains into, even though it states in our policy that the sump pump is covered. The language in the policy is not clear, does not distinguish between types of sump pumps, and therefore misleading. It took over 90 minutes on the phone and transfers to numerous people before I got someone who could explain why the sump pump is not covered, then tried to sell me additional coverage for it, and I would have to wait 30 days before I could put in a claim to fix it. Thanks, but my basement will be flooded well before that, so we are again paying out of our pocket for a repair that should have been covered by the warranty.

    The most recent claim I had with CHW was for them to fix the leak that was in my garage for my outside water and it ended up being three separate leaks. The plumber had to get each one authorized before he could continue. They denied the third leak initially, but then after realizing that it was on the inside of the property, they went ahead and did the claim. It went pretty quick. It was all done before he even left. He got it all resolved that day.

    The technician came and fixed the leaking faucet. After he left I noticed a small water drops coming from the water valve under the sink which the technician damaged by accident. CHW refused to pay for its repair stating it was rusted hence not covered. After much haggling CHW agreed to pay about half of the cost which is not fair.

    I am in my third year with Choice home warranty. I must say they do great in getting timely response for maintenance requests. HOWEVER, when it comes to assisting the repairs of my air conditioning system I am totally displeased. In 2020 I had a problem with my unit not cooling and was told I had a possible leak And this was the baseline analysis to determine how bad the leak is. No repair was accomplished. Choice sent a technician out and added Freon and the system worked fine.

    In 2021, same scenario and again was told by the technician that only could add Freon. Again, no repair to the Freon lines. Now I have the same problem and Choice denied my claim saying the lines are corroded and my system is not covered. I refuted the claim and ask the claim manager why the line was not repaired and she told me it’s because they have no paperwork from the technicians. I have no further recourse with Choice so I will take my matter through the Better Business Bureau for a solution. I am deeply disappointed with Choice.

    First, they respond to you quickly. But, the authorized department made the story and found all the ways to avoid paying the money. In my case, the permitted technician told them the electrical system of a 17-years-old water heater was broken. It's worthless and unsafe to repair. I have the report in my and also submitted it to their system. But their authorization department kept saying the technician told them the water heater was repairable and only reimbursed me $315.5. I have all the documents to approve the truth. But the only response I got was that their authorization department talked to the technician, and the technician told them they only needed $315.5 to fix the issue.

    I talked to the technician; he told me he never said that to Choice Home Warranty. The fact is that the Choice Home Warranty representative was very unhappy when he said the water heater was not fixable. The Choice Home Warranty Authorization Department lie about the conversation and refused to call him again. I have everything in writing to approve my claim, and they only use the "fake conversation" to support them and kept telling me that Choice Home Warranty has the sole right to determine whether to replace or repair the unit. I have all evidence in my hand, and I will pursue my right in court.

But my Choice Home warranty case manager told me that the warranty company can't replaced my refrigerator but would pay me according to their evaluation. Their evaluation was much less than the price of my refrigerator. It was less than 50% of the price of my refrigerator. Also he told me to wait for a month to get a check from them and I am still waiting for the check. Don't buy warranty from them.     The experience with Choice has been nothing less than horrific. After numerous calls and attempts to get service the first technician provided when called by myself after he failed to show, I called him and he stated he was never informed of any work assigned, the second technician was a no-show, whom I requested Choice to call for themselves and as such he told them he was unable to do the work. The last technician, who of note, specialty is Home Cleaning as indicated in his company name came out and changed a $15.00 switch, but indicated the motor was shot and would need replacing he believes. However, he went on to say, he did not believe Choice will approve or cover as they are difficult to get reimbursement and or coverage on most items.

    SO I have paid Choice $900.00 for absolutely nothing but aggravation. When I called them, I am usually on hold up to an hour. The members are often rude, unprofessional and frankly do not care. I have been hung up on twice, while they attempt to transfer me from one member to the other. How they are reflected as the top in Home Warranty services is baffling!

To my great disappointment, Choice Home Warranty did not honor their promise to this consumer when my above the range microwave became inoperable. This outcome is very disappointing and unacceptable in my opinion. Because of the way CHW dealt with the repair technician and with this customer, they have received the lowest rating available. I will not recommend CHW to anyone who is looking for home appliance insurance.

    One technician came out and submitted a report to Choice. Choice then said I had to buy the condenser for $893 plus pay the technician $1200. Then Choice cancelled that technician and sent out another. This time I only had to pay $1300, which I agree with. I should not have to pay for the condenser, even though it was an upgrade, because they did not make the old condenser. All of this delayed repair of my A/C for a week when it was 96 degrees here.     As I was looking at Choice Home website, a phone call from FL rang, it was Josh calling me from Choice Home Warranty!! I had already decided to purchase a home warranty policy for our home. Josh was very polite and we settled on adding a couple of appliances. Josh ask if anyone in our house was 55 or older, I told him I was 65 & my husband was 68. He discounted the policy a little bit because we are both Srs. I gave him my credit card info and was emailed the policy.

    But....Then Josh gave me the “sales pitch” that they can extend our policy for the same price as I just agreed to pay if I would pay for 5 yrs in advance!! Otherwise the price will increase every year and cost a lot more in the long run!! I told him I was not interested because we have our house on the market to sell. He then really ramped up his sales pitch, demanding that I buy this extended policy because it is such a great deal!!! I tried to explain to him that I was not interested in doing that.     I filed a claim by phone regarding replacement of my heating and air conditioning system. I was not happy with the process, because I never spoke to a human being - just recordings. I did not receive a verbal acknowledgement that my claim had been accepted. I tried to call the Choice sales person from whom I purchased the warranty and left several voicemail messages, but he did not return my calls. However, within a day or two, I received an email confirmation that my claim had been received and the company which would do the work was Jordan's Heating and Air Conditioning along with their phone number and the date they would come to my house. I talked to Jason Jordan, he confirmed the appointment and he came to my house at the appointed time.

    Jason evaluated my problem, took pictures, and said he would let Choice know that he thought the unit needed to be replaced. Within another day or two, I received an email from Choice confirming that my claim had been accepted and how much my out-of-pocket cost would be. I accepted the terms in the email, the equipment was shipped to Jason and he replaced my system in a very short period of time. So, I was not happy with the mechanics of filing the claim, but I was very happy with the processing of the claim and the work that Jason did. Based on this experience, I will recommend Choice to my friends, but I do think the filing process could be improved.

    1. Original Tech was located in Florida, not Colorad where we live. 2. Claim was then passed onto a Colorado company. This Tech was on site 3.5 hours waiting for a call from Choice Home Warranty, regarding diagnostic results that had been passed on by the Tech. Your agent called after a while and advised this tech can be paid $65 and leave as claim was now rescheduled for Mon 23rd with another company. Reason given was the tech on site had advised he did not have parts. This was incorrect. The Tech had all parts in his vehicle. Tech once again had to call your company again with results of diagnosis. This resulted in another 45 min delay. End result job was completed as required. Overall we were very disappointed.

    I was told they would be out on a Tuesday morning from 7am to 11am. They did not show because when I called they said it was scheduled for Wednesday from 7am to 11am. It turned out that the hours are from 8am to 12noon. Repairman came on Wednesday at 830am and now I am waiting for it to be authorized to do the repair.     After having a legitimate complaint and asking for an appeal the appeal mgr. refused to understand. I was told to get my own contractor which took me three days. The person I spoke with said it only takes 10 minutes to get approved. After 1/2 hour still no approval. Finally almost 2 hours they denied. The mgr argued with me and I told her I was told 10 minutes or less. Nowhere in America do you ask a contractor to stay and wait just under 2 hours. Now I will present my case to the NJ Attorney General. I even told her I would settle for half of the fee.

    I bought their 6 year plan up front in my new house, had an issue with my AC unit and it took them almost 3 days to send someone out. It was working but hardly blowing at all. The tech they sent it left the unit pulled apart, first claimed it was just low on coolant and when pressured on why that would result in poor airflow he didn't answer. Then he claimed the system had a block again. Everything was coming out cold. It just had poor airflow.

    He then proceed to use the hose on the side of the house and not shut off the water, I didn't find it until I went to brush my teeth for bed and found out there was no water (I have a well system). He left it on for over 5 hours so I shut that off and wait a while to reset the well pump but he's created another problem for me. Choice said they won't cover the repairs he wants to do and frankly I don't trust what he's said not to mention my system is sitting here completely not working now and torn apart. When you call choice they will transfer and hang up on you claiming it's an accident, they send you to a company offering credit vouchers when you ask to cancel and you can never speak to a manager or the cancellation department directly. I even tried reaching out to the sales guy and he is the one who sent me to the credit voucher line. Like seriously?! Stay away from this company.
