    This was my second time having to make a claim within 6 weeks and just as before it was easy and trouble free. My only issue was with the contractor who was assigned the repair having to return almost two weeks after the initial appointment as parts had to be ordered and delivered. But once the parts arrived and the technician returned it was smooth and timely. It would also be nice to actually interact with an actual person at Choice sometime but still good service.     I would never recommend this company to anyone. I bought the insurance bought the extended sump pump coverage and then my sump pump went out. When they sent the technician out to review it he indicated that the check valve had failed. The claim was declined because they said check belts were covered which is stupidity. You cannot install a sump pump without a check valve. It is one of the main parts of the sump pump. I then wanted to cancel my insurance and the sales clerk kept putting me off trying to get me to keep the insurance for a percentage payment of the claim. I kept telling her just to cancel it and she kept trying to talk. We're service I ever got. Worse people to ever deal with and I will not recommend them to anyone.

    My air conditioner failed and needed to be replaced. CHW approved the replacement of the air conditioner but not the parts to make the air conditioner work. I thought that was totally ridiculous that I had to pay $3000 out of pocket so that they could install the new unit. I kept getting the run around about when the unit would be delivered, they kept trying to blame the technician, when in actuality if they had just let the technician use the equipment they already had, I would not have had to spend a whole week in 90 degree weather with no air conditioning. I'm very dissatisfied as to how the whole situation was handled by CHW. I had given friends their information but now I will definitely tell them to look elsewhere.

    Fine print in my contract says you do not have to replace my broken appliance, but have the option of sending me a gift card (or smaller amount of cash) for an amount NOT NECESSAARILY enough to buy a new appliance, but a pittance to use towards the purchase of another appliance. And even then, the amount for a gift card must be used at Lowe’s towards the purchase when received (around 2 weeks from now). Meanwhile, I cannot use broken appliance.

    I was happy with the serviceman who came and fixed the problem and replaced the connector but was not happy how long it took to get him here. I called Aug 1st A/C not working in 90 plus degrees weathered. I'm 80. Have broken foot. Wear hot boot. It took way too long to get help from CHW. I was upset that l had to leave town with a closed up hot house after a week of endurance because nobody had come yet even after making several more calls. I feel l was taken advantage of because l had already paid 3 years in advance last year so l was stuck with you. I'm glad you finally sent a technician, it got fixed, and only cost me the copay. I hope next time l need service it will be taken care of promptly. An apology to me for the miserable time l spent without a/c would have at least made me feel like a valued customer.     I had Choice Home Warranty for the last 3 years and submitted 4 claims till now. None of my claims were approved. Every time my claim come under the exception and then I have to argue with the case manager. Only once did I get half of the amount for my approver but still, I had to pay $400 from my pocket and for other claims, I always had to pay the full amount from my pocket along with their service fee as I need to pay to technician visit.
    * Worst company.
    * Stay away from them.

    * Every claim has an exception (Like Dishwasher motor, tap leakage, water pressure value malfunction, toilet leaks)

    This is the worst company. Poorly run. They will tell you anything and lie. Nothing is true with them. They try to blame the customers for everything. Yet you're paying 50.00 plus a month and a 65.00 service call. And they can't even send out a plumber to clear a line. They have no one because no one wants to work for them. They will send you in circles and give you a lot of run around. Lip service all the way. They don't want to pay and they don't have anyone to service the homes. Why would anyone want to use this service. It's a joke. I even put a review on their Facebook page and they took it down and they also removed any comments from being made or message them.

    They are thieves, liars and cheats. Do not use them. Underhanded unethical company. Go get your own plumber. It will be cheaper and less headaches. Their stupid claim protocol. A joke. The whole thing is disgusting. I finally got my own plumber. Worthless company makes me mad that anyone can put up a fake business in this country and take advantage of people. The people that work for them are the worst. They need to be shutdown. All of these warranty companies are a big hoax.

    The technicians have been great thus far. However, I am not content with the fact that Choice Home Warranty is not going to replace the faucets with "like" items I currently have. They have directed the technician to replace with regular (cheaper) faucets. My opinion is that CHOICE could have contacted me and offered to at least share the cost with me with "like" faucets.

    The experience was going well until your salesperson would not listen when I told him I didn't want to hear the six your policy info... He disregarded my wishes and continued to speak and then his tone became rude... I understand trying to sell the product, but when you are told no, the conversation should cease...     I been researching home warranty companies for a while now. After seeing a Consumers Affairs page listing the top recommended home warranty companies, I filled out the info to get more info on the top 3 listed. Minutes after filling out the form, CHOICE Home called me. I HATE this. Just send me the info and let me make my decision at my leisure. Anyway, I talked with the rep. First he (lied) about the rating, saying it was 5 stars. Um, no dude. I'm on C.A. website and your company has 4 stars. Ok, I let it slide. He tells me about the plan and I ask questions. Although they cover my HVAC system they don't cover maintenance. That doesn't make sense, because during routine maintenance is when I can find out potential issues and get it repaired on the spot.

    My biggest gripe with them and all these home warranty companies is the hard sell, upsell and not enough time to evaluate their program. They're determined not let you get off the phone without a sale. So if they feel like they're losing you, then they want to talk to their manager to see if I can get you a better price if you sign up today move. Why not just be transparent and upfront?

    Then once I got the lower price, he tried to upsell me to a 3 or 5 year special deal contract. So instead of approximately $500, it's $1,500 - $2,000. Once I ballacked at that amount. he said he could give me a payment plan. "I'll think about it, I don't even know if I will still like your company after 1 year." "But if you sign up for the additional years, the price is locked in," um ok.

    Then lastly you get a 30 day money back guarantee. BUT YOU CAN'T USE THE POLICY FOR 30 DAYS. Why not make it a 60 day money back guarantee so I can actually try your service. If after 30 days I decide I want cancel, I get my money back minus any service fees, $50 admin fee and prorated adjustment. Then today, I get a call from CHOICE trying to upsell me on "free home security." Although the equipment is free, the monitoring is not and costs more than I'm presently paying CPI. So I just wanted to given others the heads up on how these Home warranty companies operate so no one is surprised.

    I had Choice at my house when my Cafe double oven stopped working. They sent out 3 different technicians and none of them fixed the problem. All of them called GE and were supposedly told that it was the motherboard that was to be replaced. ALL of them replaced the circuit board and none of them worked! Finally they told me that they couldn't fix the oven and that they wouldn't replace it. After numerous calls to Choice's office I sued them in small claims court and win a $9,900 default judgment. I am still trying to collect the judgment after 3 plus years and have been successful to date. I then found out that they are being sued by thousands of customers across the country. They have a terrible reputation and yet Consumer Affairs rates them second. Your credibility is ZERO with me.

    My situation may not be able to finish with 200 characters. I will briefly share my nightmare situation with CHW. My Hot Water tank situation drag over a month and I had to make a complaint with BBB in order to bring them to the negotiating table. I feel that CHW is not a Consumer friendly Warranty Company. They will try to save $$$$ for themselves until such time they will ask the same Company to visit the Consumer residence. After the third visit then CHW will look your Contract then they will make a decision in favor of CHW.

    Once they denied my claim three weeks later then CHW will give an option to tell them why should I feel that CHW should reconsider my claim. I have to mentioned here the lack of professionalism with the two Claim Managers. I have left 3 voices messages with one of the claim managers' voice mail but no response from her. I'm so sorry to say this is where the Managers' lack of Professionalism kicks in. These Managers will come up with very interesting stories to avoid to chat with the Consumer for 15 minutes. They only give 15 minutes Phone appointments. CHW will send an email with Two Claim Managers' names for my case. They will asked you to choose a date and time. When I follow everything according to their email I would say my appointments is PDT time. When I send a follow up email to one of the Claim Managers asking her to please confirm my Phone appointment at 11:45 AM on 07/27/2022.

    I might add here the day my phone appointment which was on 07/27/2022, I received a text reminder text message and confirming my appointment is at 11:45 AM on 07/27/2022. First text messages came at 11:15 AM and the second reminder message came at 11:40 AM. No response from the assigned manager at all. On the day of my phone appointment, I received an email from the other manager who's assigned, indicating that "we have tried to contact you but no response from you and due to PDT and EDT confusion." Please reschedule my phone appointment.

    I checked my missed calls log and there's no missed calls from CHW. Then I tried to get hold of a Manager who's above these two managers and finally I found one and She claimed that she's one of the senior Managers. After I explained to her my situation she confirmed my second phone appointment on 07/28/2022 at 11:45 AM PDT. I also mentioned to this senior Manager about the two reminder text messages and she said that just a computer generated text and I told her If your computer recognized my correct time and date. This Senior manager said due to PDT time and EDT time there was a confusion. I said computer didn't have a confusion at all. No calls from CHW claim managers on 07/28/2022 either.

    This has been going over a month now and I decided to get hold of BBB. I managed to file a complaint then CHW responded to my complaint that I filed with BBB. CHW offering me $100 for the repair cost. CHW offered me $100 with two months free dues after I rejected. I had to change my payment method and I was waiting how CHW is gonna handle my Payment situation. CHW also mentioned the only way I get my $100 if and when I update my payment method. I responded via BBB rejecting CHW offer for the second time. BBB informed me case closed "Answered Unsatisfied".

    I have been a loyal member with CHW. When I purchased my plan two years ago the Sales person said "Do not worry. You have our back and everything is fully covered". When I got the agreement what's covered in bold letters and what's not covered in regular print. When I tried to get hold of the Sales person who sold me the plan and he's no longer with CHW. If I didn't file a complaint with BBB they would have left me with no explanation. My Hot Water tank is 80 gallons and CHW covered up to 75 gallons. This part is in normal print in the contract. I said I'm willing to pay the difference but nobody in CHW willing to work with me. The two responses came from CEO's office. I felt Consumer Affairs should aware how CHW handle big expensive ticket items. I have a lot of respect for the Consumer Affairs. I used to buy the Consumer affair Magazine.     CHW responds very well for my recent major problem with my A/C repair/replacement. Overall very happy with the coverage even though we had to pay over $2300 to replace my entire A/C system however considering a new unit cost between $7-$8K even though we thought we were 100% covered CHW was fair. And their customer service was very good. You definitely save money with them when a repair is needed and have peace of mind on repairs.

    BUT in Florida don't expect your A/C to be replaced or even repaired in 24 hours it takes typically 2-3 days to even get a A/C tech out to your home. And about a 7-10 days to replace any major parts. Still very worth having and Bennet and Sons especially Patti, Deanna and Angel were very professional and AWESOME. BUT the crown Jewel was Tim the A/C guy who installed our new unit was just AMAZING. Tim was very thorough, professional and experienced. Plus Tim really CARED!!!!     Great for little repairs but if something major breaks... like in your ac... they will find a reason to deny the claim. Contractors are hard to find due to Choice going back on their repair approvals. Longer wait times for homeowners to find an accepting Vendor. They will approve for instance leak stop (freon was low). Choice approved to put leak stop in unit ($145) and add freon. They decided not to cover the freon after the repair and will only pay for the leak stop. That did not work so technician had to come back out. No problem. Technician came back out and Choice approved a leak search ($150). Found a leak in coil and approved the repair. Now that the repair has been made and billed they no longer are covering the Leak Stop... since it didn't work nor are covering the leak search. I don't understand how they do this ALL the time and get away with it. These charges are now on me since the work was performed.

    Hi, We were offered a free inspection by our Electrical Company. When they came, they found that the “run canister”, was not operating and it needed to be repaired. So I made an attempt to speak to someone at Choice to see if it would qualify for a repair. I could not ever get a person to speak to, so I set up a claim, thinking I could talk to the person when they called to set an appointment. The call to set up the appointment was also a voice mail, so I canceled the appointment, thinking I would have to pay $65 to get my question answered on top of repairs if it wasn’t covered, so we just paid the electric company to repair the a/c. Needless to say, it was a frustrating situation. Please give your customers a way to speak to a person with questions, and not just a computer.

    I've had this warranty almost a year. Did not expect any problems, but unfortunately our dishwasher died. I had to find someone and pay the bill myself because they couldn't find anyone. The dishwasher was beyond repair so they offered me about $250 to buy a new one. You can't touch ANYTHING for anywhere near that price. They finally agreed to give me $600, which still wasn't enough. Next my fridge stopped chilling. They sent out a great technician from Sears Appliance Repair who quoted just over $800 to fix it (retail cost to fix would be almost $3,000). They flat out denied it claiming that we misused the fridge causing a part to break and that caused other parts to go bad.

    We are retired adults who know how to use a refrigerator. We believe that when a previous repair was done on the fridge (several years ago), that technician probably broke the piece but it was never noticed. Then, several years later, the unit starts breaking down. But no discussion, just a flat out denial. We have one other claim that a tech is coming out for this week. Guess we'll see what excuse they use to deny that one, too. I would recommend anyone looking for a home warranty company to find a different one. I will not be renewing my warranty when it expires.

    Having Choice Home Warranty, I like being able to get things fixed. Sometimes it's not as quick as I like for it to happen, but it eventually happens. I haven't been dissatisfied, but twice, I got dissatisfied with their service. But overall, it's doing okay. I had a problem with my air conditioning. It took them two weeks to get it back up and running. We were suffering in the house with heat for a couple of weeks. Once they came out, they diagnosed it and then they had to order the part.     If you have an electrical problem, DO NOT expect Choice to repair it for you. Yes, they will send an electrician to change a circuit breaker but nothing beyond that is approved. The electrician they sent out said I needed new wiring on a particular circuit. Cost was $1550.Choice declined it. These are wires inside a wall. No one has touched these wires since the house was built. It's just wear and tear. But they refuse to stand behind their warranty.

    I have been dealing with my GE dishwasher turning on & off then completely stop working since February 2022. The situation still has not been corrected & every time I call I have to wait forever then get a new claim number which makes me have to pay another service. You made the serviceman order more parts again, for which I now am waiting AGAIN for the parts to arrive so they can be installed. I find this very unfair along with dissatisfied.     JFK plumbing was sent out to work on my toilet which was back up. The Company you represented was excellent. They was the plumber that explained why this was not covered under my plan. Yes you sent out a reason that only a technician could understand. When I tried to find exactly why this wasn't covered. I wasn't understanding at all.     Don't waste your money on this scam company. They will most likely fix your faucet for $85 service call fee which you could pay directly to some handyman and get the same fix, but if some major stuff blows out forget about it. Water collection pan in my AC air handler rusted and leaking water which eventually shuts down the unit. Tech who came didn't bother to check the pan material even though I insisted and put his notes that it "cracked" assuming it was plastic.

    CHW was happy to reject my case due to "damage or misuse/abuse" stating if plastic cracked it was due to some damage. No matter how I tried to convince them it was a steel one indeed, nobody cared - they had a formal reason to decline coverage. I heard many baseless statements from their service managers about "non-moving parts not covered", "that part not covered" etc which was lies since their agreement boldly states "all AC parts are covered if failure occurred due to normal wear and tear".

    What is rusting if not wear and tear? How can you prevent a metal piece exposed to water 24x7 by design from rusting? What kind of maintenance would have prevented this? Nobody cared to pick up a phone and actually call that tech who put initial notes in. Assigned case managers were helpless, not sure what their function is if they have neither interest nor power in the claim process. To wrap it up, they will make up any silly excuse you can or can't imagine to deny your claim if it's significant.
