    My first claim with this company and I have been waiting 3 days to get a contractor assigned to repair my bathtub leak. The only responses I get are “You may hire your own contractor and we’ll reimburse you in 30 days” which is an unacceptable response and e-mails asking for a review after each status request call I make.     We currently have 6 different plans on 6 properties. We have been trying your services. On two different occasions your technicians never showed. On one had to wait another week and now on a a simple repair (microwave) you are spending more on parts then replacing the microwave (your cost maybe $200). Technician says he has no control. On a different property 2 calls to determine that a Air conditioner needed replacement. $65 each call plus paying extra parts. Please don’t advertise that it converts it all. It appears to us that you look for every opportunity to charge the consumer. Not sure how happy we are with this insurance product as yes it is saving some money but please tell your sales people to report the truth. Your sales peoples need more training on selling your product. We bought the top of the plans (platinum) but still have expenses on top of the $65 or in one case $130. Think I might try American Home Shield. Maybe their plan works better.

    Received appointment emails that weren't actually set up. Called company about the appointment, said they had to set date and time, not Choice. The company worked with me and got someone out. Better communication is needed between Choice and the company they choose to use.     It took about 8 weeks to repair my A/C when all it needed was a capacitor replaced. As for my Boiler the clock is still running. It's been about 6 months and nothing has happened yet other than at least 2 broken appointments and 2 technicians saying it needs replacing and a 3rd giving a replacement cost. No heat or hot water for 6 months is not acceptable but I am at their mercy. What can I do?

    Choice warranty is only here to take your money. They expect you to be an expert on how to fix your appliances, but if we were all experts then we wouldn’t need a warranty we would just fix it ourselves. Lord forbid the homeowner, who’s not an expert, gets the diagnosis wrong…you’ll be paying that tech fee over and over again because I mean you (the homeowner) should’ve known that the burning smell permeating throughout your home is the blower motor going out. I wouldn’t recommend that ANYONE uses choice warranty. Customer service doesn’t listen to you so you’re out of luck there. You just have to ride their wave and be happy with whatever service you got. I bought a 3 year policy with them, but I am actively looking for another warranty company ASAP! Choice does not make me feel comfortable as a customer

    I would advise everyone to run from you. You change stories and refuse to show contact wording to back up your positions. Not customer friendly.     I bought the Choice Home Warranty plan being told that I would find this warranty better than any other because when something breaks that CHW will either fix it and if it can’t be fixed, CHW would replace it. I come to find out that … just like the other home warranty plans, CHW is no different. CHW's idea of “replacing” a broken component is by saying that I can pay for the part and labor.     The home warranty company sent a plumber out quickly to check on my hot water heater. The plumber was fantastic. Warranty company is difficult to work with. It’s been over a week and I still have a hot water heater. Everything is automated in their system. There’s no way to talk to anybody who knows what they’re doing unless you call the person who sold you the warranty. If you try and call service they have information that’s bad and tell you the wrong thing. If you get assigned a case manager they may not follow up with you.

    I was very happy with the technician who repaired my garage door. I would give him 5-stars, but my score is lower only because Choice Home Warranty spent at least an hour of his time once he arrived at my house. I am very aware of how warranty companies, much like insurance companies, spend more time and effort denying or minimizing coverage to the detriment of their customers. My dissatisfaction is due to the fact that Choice Home Warranty did not cover the full cost of the repair on the automatic door opening system. I was left paying the largest portion of the repair cost because even my platinum level warranty contains language that exempts Choice Home Warrants from paying for the wheels needed to lessen the tension that strained the gears in the motor. I plan to appeal Choice Home Warranty’s denial. I just bought this house with a certified inspector signing off on all of the mechanical systems in the house.

    I've been very pleased with Choice though I’ve had a couple of hurdles that I’ve been disappointed with. But all in all, compared to what other experiences friends have had with other home warranties, I'm very satisfied. I like that they have a quick response. I have two issues I've had repetitively. My washer was still having the same problem and I I didn't know that I had to call within the 30 days so I wouldn't have to pay again. When I did three claims, I had to pay again and the same gentleman came. He said it was the same problem. I paid the service call and after that, Choice offered to pay me the washer but I didn't because my washer cost twice as much as what they were offering me. When I called back, my offer already expired. I disputed it and nothing ever came of that. I never got a response or my money, and I'm still without a washer.

    Updated on 08/19/2023: James ** from Choice Warranty came yesterday, August 18th and checked the outside unit, inside unit, checked all vents to see how they performing. He determined that my unit need some refrigerant. He added the refrigerant and checked to see if that was the problem. Apparently it was because it is cooling so much better.

    I have six policies with Choice and my experience has not been too great. Don't expect to be covered every time. A lot of times, they deny claims. You can do a claim online or call it in.     Choice Warranty offered me free roofing and an extra 6 months, if I rejoin their company. I spoke with Greg **, he stated for me not to worry, that once I get my policy everything would be on there on the contract. I think he thought that I would not read the policy because it so much to read. I asked him to make sure my daughter and I were in the policy because we both travel and one is always at home. Once I read it it did not have my daughter's name and the roofing was not put on the contract.

    I called him several times and left a message concerning what I have found after reading the police and noticing those thing were not put on all 3 policies. I called the choice warranty 1-800 number and spoke with other person and she was able to fix the names on the policy, she stated that she could not change the police but that she would transfer me to him. Left a message again and he still has not called me.

    I got a phone call from Choice warranty stating that with the policies we have that we can have free equipment for an alarm system and that we just have to pay a monthly service and he quoted the prince. I told him no because I am cancelling my plans and he asked why. I explained above and he said he will call him and let him know and call me back next day by 6 which he did and still I told him he never called. He said just a minute I am walking over to tell him, he came back and said that Greg will be calling soon and will call me tomorrow.

    Next day he called me again and said that the personnel talk to him in person and that Greg stated he was going to call me. I did not get the service of the Security because I was lied by Greg **. I called him again and he has not respond as of today the September 25, 2022 at 11:18 a.m. I need my policy cand and refunded, as no one is communicating with me, hope someone is actually reading this and will call me so we can solve this issue as it was told to me by Greg **.

    I have always had a wonderful experience with CHW, but this experience was a little frustrating. We had a plumbing problem where we had to turn off all water to the house. I submitted the claim online on Monday (9/19) and then called customer service and explained the urgency. I was told that our claim would be labeled Priority so a technician could be sent out right away. I called 3 times on Monday and was told we were at Priority status. At the end of the day on Monday, no plumbing technician was assigned, and we had to stay in a hotel. On Tuesday morning, a technician was assigned but for a week later (9/27).

    My husband called the plumbing company directly to see if they could come earlier, and we were told the earliest they could come would be on Friday (9/23)--we had NO WATER. The plumbing company told us that CHW did not list our claim as a Priority. If our claim had priority status, then they could have come sooner. We ended up in a hotel for 4 days because we had no water. On Friday, the plumber came and fixed the problem in 20 minutes--it was an easy fix and took very little time, so it is frustrating that a technician could not be sent on Monday or Tuesday to fix the problem. I don't understand why CHW customer service told me that our claim was Priority status and the plumbing company said it was not. I have never had a problem in the past with CHW, but this claim was frustrating to say the least.

    The irresponsible attitude of CHW recently shows how much CHW ignores the difficulties its customers are experiencing. CHW customer service keeps repeating the message that it always contacted the contractor when talking about the difficulties the customer is experiencing and only to wait for 24 hours. In the claim status of the website, there are no updates on what the consumer has said, the promise that the case manager they promised will call, or the promise to return the service fee and connect another contractor. My contractor is Sears (A&E) with no response at all. If you read reviews about this company, you'll see just how bad it is. I think that CHW will go out of business by partnering with a company like this.

    We purchased our home warrantee in June and we placed our first service call September. We were advised that we would receive the name of the company, phone number and Technician's name within 4 hours. After 6 hrs. we had not heard anything further from Choice or the A/C company. I called and was told that a service company had not been assigned to our service call and they were trying to locate someone to respond. Then we received notice that a technician we arrive sometime on Thursday, 72 hours after our initial request. We finally received service 23 hours after placing the service request. We live in Florida and in September the temperature is pretty high. A 36 hour response time is unacceptable. (the technician rearranged his schedule to fit us in) If it was any other appliance a 3 day response time wouldn't have been an issue. The technician was great, but Choice's response time was a disappointment.

    Choice found ways to deny over half of my claims. Some were approved but it's like rolling the dice. My last two claims were denials and then a third, they sent a plumber out, I paid my service fee and he never came back to fix the problem. When I called Choice for help, they said the case was closed and I would have to open up a new claim along with another service fee. How is that my problem?

    In fact, they just recently denied another claim and when I called to appeal, their rep was condescending and got progressively rude, put me on hold for over 5 minutes and finally disconnected the call with no attempt to call me back. This was the last straw for me...I will not deal with anyone who literally treats customers like children. It's quite obvious once you've dealt with them a few times that their top priority is to deny. And because it's entirely their decision and they can't be held accountable, there is no true appeal process - once their answer is no, then it's NO! I would caution anyone considering Choice to do your research and check a variety of review sites and the Better Business Bureau for truly honest experiences.

    I could not be any more disappointed in how this process has been handled, and it isn't even concluded yet. We have had another claim with Choice and it was handled very professionally and in a timely manner. This claim is neither. I talked to five different people from choice yesterday and two today. Each time I was given a different explanation and answer. Twice yesterday I was told the parts needed for replacement were in but the technician just hadn't picked them up. The other three times I was told they weren't in and it would be 3 to 5 business days before they arrived for the technician to get them. In these calls I was interrupted, I was hung up on, I was placed on hold mid-sentence, and overall spoke to incredibly rude. If some of the people I spoke to were my employees I would not want them representing my brand.

    I approved the claim on Tuesday September 20th and 4 days later the parts have finally been ordered. I was told they were arriving the 21st, I was a told they had arrived the 21st, I had been told they were ordered on the 21st, and now I am told that they are ordered today on the 23rd. Any reasonable person should be able to see that there is apparently a disconnect on the part of choice when I cannot get a straight answer and that answer is constantly changing. I get that a claim changes as time goes on but not in the order that I was told. It seemed as every representative I talk to contradicted the one before.

    Recently I spoke to a case manager yesterday, Brittany, and she told me the parts were available and the technician probably doesn't want to pick them up because he is trying to get the business directly for himself. She was very blunt about that. I let the technician know that the parts were available for pickup, and she informed me she would re-email the notification that they were ready to him. Today, the 23rd, the technician went to the location where the parts were supposed to be and called me from there because they did not have the parts nor had any record of the purchase order that choice had given them.

    I am simply at a loss. A loss for words on how unprofessional every phone call was and how the so-called managers handled this. I am at a loss how a claim can be put in a week ago and just today the parts are finally ordered which I am told will take 3 to 5 business days. I understand that choice home warranty is not an emergency service, however, this is entirely unacceptable when I put a claim in the morning of the 17th, I did not have anyone take my claim until the morning of the 19th. The technician came out on the 20th. And all of that time frame I understood and could accept. It's what has happened since that I find unacceptable.

    The technician has told myself and choice time and time again that he has the parts available and could get them and repair my unit on the 23rd or 24th. Choice rather have an upset customer When by the time this is repaired it will be at least 2 weeks from when I first put the claim in. Please tell me how that is acceptable for an air conditioning unit for a home with two children, two dogs, and two adults when the temperatures have been over 90 for 4 days straight. I understand that some things are out of one's control, But when the technician can get the parts and have the unit repaired within a couple days why wouldn't choice home warranty want to satisfy their customers? But the biggest downfall in this whole thing is the way that each and every person I spoke with talked to me and handled the situation. I am just simply appalled at how any can still have a job.

    Buyer beware. You will be paid wholesale replacement $$ and told to go shop retail prices. Terrible claim experiences from start to finish. When signing up the salesperson told me water softeners were covered...come to find out they aren't. Had a second claim on an oven. Was told it needed to be replaced. Lydia (case manager) says all you will pay is $338 for a new oven! You give wholesale claim payments but don't help with finding wholesale prices! You give a claim payment in form of Lowe's card, but Lowe's hasn't had an oven for $338 since the 90's. I'm stuck with a broken and unsafe oven, and the only option is to replace but I have half of what need.

    This is not insurance, this is a scam. Not a fair settlement. Not an honest company. This will go unnoticed by anyone who has authority to make changes, but at least this is written. Maybe it will help someone in the future. I will be cancelling my policy and using the returned premium to cover the gap between my claim payment and the actual cost of the cheapest oven available.

    He gave a possible schedule of arriving from 7A -6P. He arrived around 8A. He was well-spoken and got to work immediately. I showed him where I thought the problem was but we couldn't find it. He found it after about 10 minutes. It was a rusted and broken hose to the bleach holder that was leaking in the front of the washer. He called to try and find one but there was none to be had. He called LG, they had none and none on back order, I assisted him in making a temporary fix so that we could still use the machine while he said that he would try to find a replacement part. Finding one looked pretty bleak. He collected his $85 and left. Overall he was a good repairman. But since I paid my part of our agreement, when will you guys finish the repair job which I called you for?

    First, the contractor that did come was great! My problem is with Choice Warranty and their quality of customer service and competency with scheduling. No contractors wants to work with Choice! For my plumbing issue, the first contractor that took my job was actually not a plumber and he tied up my request for service while he decided he couldn't handle it, so it went back into the queue for another 24 hours while they tried to find a new contractor to take it. The new contractor scheduled it for Monday but Choice said the appt was set for Saturday so when he didn't come it looked like I "missed my service call" and I got an email to that effect.

    All Choice's misinformation since they had a discrepancy with when it was actually scheduled for. Then when the plumber who accepted it Friday for Monday appt time was going to come, I had to call them 5 times to make sure he would get credit for the call and paid for his work. After the call was finally completed, I got another call from another plumber saying they had been assigned my claim and would be out...but it had already been handled by a different plumber which means that Choice never did correct the appt assignment from Friday with the contractor that came...

    Needless to say, Choice can't get it together and their customer service and correctness of setting appointments and finding contractors is not good! When they do finally find someone to take a call and then they set appointments for wrong days entirely, or with contractors who can't handle the jobs, they aren't making it easy to work with them... Not for me and not for contractors. No wonder the contractors don't want to take the claims. Also, Choice tried to get me to do it via reimbursement when they couldn't find a contractor, but they cover so little (or cheaply) that I would get stuck paying A LOT more than $75 for a service call when the work that gets done far exceeds what Choice is willing to pay to cover.
