On Feb.1,2023 a technician named Dustin from Zolotco LLC arrived at my house on time to repair my garage door opener. Dustin was very courteous. I explained to Dustin the problem I was having with my door opener, he went straight to work. Within a short time Dustin had diagnosed and repaired my door opener. Dustin explained to me the problem and the repair and made sure I was satisfied before he left. Thank You Dustin and Zolotco LLC for your help. I also want to Thank Choice Warranty for honoring their commitment to good service.

Slow draining sink in upstairs bathroom was backing up and not functional. These folks did a very efficient job to both repair and provide guidance about the weekly maintenance required to keep the sinks thru-out the house functioning properly. I would highly recommend this plumbing service to anyone needing fast and efficient service.

I had been bombarded with calls from all companies. I originally made the call yesterday but wasn’t ready. This morning Ron ** called me and went through the different areas of the contract. He was professional, to the point and confident in the company standing behind me for anything that will go wrong w/ the house I just purchased. I compared a couple different companies and he clarified the competition never bad-mouthing other companies just the facts and I appreciate that. Thank you! I look forward to the move in now, and that I’ve made the right choice.

A recent claim for a bad microwave afforded me no input, no negotiation, no reasoning. The entire process was ridiculous. I was very displeased and voiced it to the claim people and quite honestly they did not care. I was not satisfied with any part of the process.

I am a new customer. I placed my order I think Thursday or Friday, it wasn’t an emergency however it was a little difficult to find a company to come out ASAP, they gave me a reimbursement option, this was great to know! Very pleased! Even more so that they did get a company and that company came out on Sunday when the appointment was set for Monday, which I did not have a problem with! Thank you!

Nick did a great job. He was fast and efficient. He showed up on time and cleaned up after himself. He took his shoes off too. I didn’t have to ask him to do that. Garbage disposal replaced and tested for any leaks. Great job all around.

I have 3 properties. Transactions have been favorable (minus 1 ongoing issue). For the money, this is a good value. The only issue is when you are coming up for expiration of the year, they start calling and calling and calling.

Eli did a very thorough job of explaining how your service works. I asked him to wait a day so I could do some research and he did not pressure me to sign up that day. I called him the next day and he returned my call in a matter of seconds. I agreed to sign up for a year and then Eli started the upsell. No pressure, just options. I agreed to the 3 year deal and look forward to utilizing your services. Thank you.

My technician was great, when he arrived he diagnosed the problem and had the part to repair it. I wasn’t happy about the 9 hour window. I was given the date and I was told he would arrive between 8 AM and 5 PM. That’s a little unreasonable to make someone wait all day!

Called Choice to report a ill refrigerator. Took a week to get a tech here for the repair. He worked over 3 hrs. Said he had to order a part but Choice hasn't called to OK it. The tech stated he will close out for today and Choice will be calling with more information. This is day 12 with a non-working appliance. The tech was very informative in explaining what the problems were.

We were denied any coverage on replacing our furnace. We have been paying this warranty for many years. This is why we bought it in the first place in case we had problems. My experience with Choice has not been pleasant or satisfactory. After waiting over 2 weeks for a repair man, it was deemed my dishwasher could not be repaired. After talking with several of Choice representatives, I received an e-mail saying "Congratulations" we are REPLACING your dishwasher. A $246.00 e-card to Lowe's would be given to me. Certainly that was not acceptable.. I submitted a request for a case manager to contact me. I have spoken to 4 people. Only one, (all others seem to read from a script & repeat over & over no matter what you say or ask) Dielliavissa **, was professional, listened and explained that in order to be considered for a larger replacement amount, certain qualifications had to be met.
I complied by sending pictures requested with serial number, style, dba etc of my present inoperable dishwasher. I have tried repeatedly to reach her to talk again, with only to be told over & over, that she is unavailable. I received a call 2 days ago saying $246.00 was indeed the amount I would receive. I asked 2 different case managers if they would give me the serial number of a dishwasher from Lowe's for that amount offered me, I would buy it. They answered with the monologue written script once again....
You asked me to be fair in my review. Now, I am asking you to please be fair and see that this e-mail gets to the proper executive handing all disputable claims. In fact, I respectfully request to hear in writing from that Executive giving me an acceptable replacement amount. Please don't insult my intelligence by trying to convince me that this settlement is FAIR so please be fair with me.

Spoke to US representative to file my first claim and the rep was friendly and professional and had a technician scheduled next day. The service provider was knowledgeable and professional and completed the work quick. Based on this experience, I’m hoping that if I ever need to file a new claim, I will get the same experience.

I was able to open a case online quickly and easily. A company with a technician was assigned to my case overnight (I had opened the case after business hours). The technician arrived and was able to diagnose the issue quickly.

Because I’m a single woman I have had a home warranty for 25 years on this duplex. I decided to compare rates and options before I continued with my other agency as they leaped the price significantly. Rob called me from my internet inquiry. He spoke English! I had spoken to 3 other companies already and didn’t see much difference. And had difficulty understanding some of them. The company I had been with had switched to phone sites in another country and I had trouble getting them to understand what I needed. Frustrating!! Rob ** kept finding new ways to save me money and to lock in the lower price for a few years. And he promised me that real people answered the phones if I didn’t want to do it online. Saving $300 a year with a fixed price MADE MY DAY!

After going thru several companies, I finally found someone to help me. I have been without hot water since Jan. 7th. When you are 81 years old & in a wheelchair, it's not easy to go that long without hot water. Choice took my claim & is having it fixed in a couple of days.

The technician came to my house on time and diagnosed the problem. A part needs to be ordered (if it is available). The process will proceed when that information has been ascertained. The technician was polite and respectful, and I believe good at his job. He found the problem right away and explained to me the process (which I appreciated). Nothing has been repaired, and I cannot know how CHW has performed. I think it is premature of CHW to ask before they have the status of my case and have consequently responded to me about that status.

I was shopping around for the home warranty policy and filled up my contact info. I was contacted by Rob ** on 01/31/23. He pushed to sell the policy by lying on terms and conditions. He told me there is no cap on coverage/item and when I see the policy it's 3000/item. It's not fair to sell policies by committing FRAUD.

The company assigned to repair the water heater was prompt and professional. Very happy with this company, but I'm not happy to wait 3-5 days for Choice to order parts for the repair company. Waiting this amount of time without hot water during the winter I believe is not acceptable. Please review your policies regarding parts and empower the repair company to use local business to obtain the necessary parts for quick repairs.

Took one star off due to a slight delay in scheduling servicing of my dishwasher and not being able to give an exact time until day of service. If I did not work from home it would have been difficult to be home all day waiting. But once the agent came, he was friendly and very efficient in figuring out what the issue was and correcting the problem.

My daughter said he was very polite and got to his inspection. I wasn't happy they declined to cover repair on a return pipe underground. What good is the coverage if it doesn't cover repairs when needed? It's not like I was underground causing a issue.

I will let them know that the company really responds fast to your situation and they do great work so the price is right. And you have nothing to fear or worry about. They only hire the best people qualify. I think they drug test all their employees so they rate them very highly and if they don't work out. Or if they have too many complaints than they replace them automatically so you have nothing to worry about. They only hire the best people possible.

It is hit or miss with the technicians they send out. We have had some really outstanding ones like the new HVAC person and the electrical company that they sent out today. However we had an extremely bad experience with the first HVAC company who took our fee, misdiagnosed the problem and left without fixing the problem and left us without heat for days. However, Choice did get a new company out asap and waived the fee. The only other criticism I would have is that if you have some sort of emergency you will need to pay out of pocket and not use the warranty. This is not a fast process.

I called choice warranty, and two days later I had a tech in my home taking care of my problem. Do you say that I am happy with the service would be an understatement. Created a claim and received an appointment within hours. Appointment arrived and the technician arrived in the stated time frame. Turns out the heater was working just fine and was going through a defrost mode when I believed it was not working properly. So, my claim was for not.

I am very pleased to have gotten a policy with Choice Home Warranty. I called this afternoon to gather information because my last home warranty company had engaged in some sleazy phone tactics, so I needed a new company. CHW was rated very highly by 2 magazines that I trust. When I called, Andy at CHW was very straightforward and clear. The process was painless and I liked the answers he gave me, so I signed up for a policy.

Please do not use this company!! They have poor business practices and will just blame the contractor they chose for you. The garage door broke and we filed a claim. We waited four days for the contractor to show up and when they didn't keep the appointment, I called the contractor. They informed me that they had accepted the work order but did not schedule an appointment and CHW knew this!! They said CHW does this all the time to them and then blames them for their own poor business practices. When I called CHW and complained, they reassigned the claim to the same contractor, sent me an appointment time and when I called the contractor they said they didn't have us scheduled for that day. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS SHODDY COMPANY BY BUYING A POLICY. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and guess who they blamed...the contractor. It's laughable at this point.

To be clear - The claim was assigned in just *over* the 48-hour contract period. However, I did not appreciate the initial repetition that 80% of claims are assigned within 4 hours when I suspected it would be longer. Then when I checked back in, I was told that that it was usually six hours. THEN, over 24 hours later, I was told 48 hours. While I am aware of what’s in the contract, CHW should not misrepresent the individual situation and overstate their abilities. I placed the claim midday Thursday, on Saturday was assigned an appointment for Sunday. Perfectly fine, but more transparency would be better. The plumber assigned was quick & excellent, (U B Plumbing, LLC!! Highly recommended!!) but I feel that CHW should have a larger group of companies available to pick up claims. I live in a well-populated area; this should not be an issue.

No power to one room. Technician called beforehand, made sure he had parts needed, then upon arrival assessed and troubleshot problem down to root cause. Replacing bad circuit breaker and in process made sure everything was working and to code.

Glenn's H/C LLC drove an hour and a half to diagnose my hvac issue. Keyshawn the technician was awesome. He knew what to look for and where. He was well prepared with the tools needed to do the diagnostic. He was very knowledgeable about the older system and answered all my questions thoroughly. The tech opened the freezer, took the shelves out, removed the ice and fixed the problem and cleaned up after performing the task only he could have done. My freezer does not make noises and freezes very well without overfreezing.

Pros: quick response time. Cons: I was very specific during the sale regarding replacements, since my sister had issues with her policy. The salesman promised that the policies had changed and the fee increase is due to the full replacement and other improvements to their policies. My washer broke down and the part wasn’t being made anymore, so they offered me money for the replacement. The problem was that they offered less than half of the money to replace it with a new one of the same make/model. Also, my glass cooktop cracked, it happened when I had all burners on. They didn't cover anything, because it was a physical/cosmetic damage even though it wasn’t my fault. The technician didn’t even bother looking at the bottom of the cooktop (downdraft vent electric cooktop), because he said that Choice Warranty wouldn’t cover cosmetic damage regardless of the cause.

Though the contractor sent to review my claim was straightforward and seemed knowledgeable, he immediately dismissed the views of the technician who had diagnosed the reason for the claim and spent a few minutes disparaging the company he represents. The initial technician gave instructions on how to view the issue he found. The Choice Home contractor's camera could not fit within the same gap, and he left it at that- no further effort was made to confirm the assessment. A separate local contractor who I called out the next day also had a camera that was too large to view the alleged crack, but took 10 seconds to bore a very small hole in the aluminum to enable a clear view of the situation. I'm unsure of the extent to which the Choice Home contractor is representative of the standard, but this was disappointing and didn't do much to change the perception that these contractors are incentivized to deny claims.

My technician diagnosed the problem with our Maytag washer and came already with the part to fix it. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Really amicable and professional. This is the 2nd time he has come to fix an appliance and he is exceptional at job.

Jeff Brinson arrived at my home and assessed the situation with the toilet. He checked the basement area where the water was coming through. He determined the wax ring needed to be replaced and did the same. He ensured the leaking had stopped, cleaned up his tools and left. He was friendly and professional. He answered all of my questions and served as a well qualified representative of Brinson and Son Plumbing and Choice Home Warranty.

The customer service is good. They answer the phone in a timely manner. But the technician are slow to respond when call upon. They will schedule an appointment and never call or show up and when you call they never answer. This is not good. So a contract should be given to a delicate technician.

Plumbrite tech Alex was great. Nice guy, good customer service, and good work. Same guys replaced water heater earlier in year and no issues. Would recommend to anyone needed plumbing repairs. I will call them again if in need of repairs.

After I filed my claim. 30 minutes later I get a text that if we were available and they could come out shortly. Sam the technician was very polite and knowledgeable. He replaced some parts and was on his way. Awesome!!!

The tech was flexible with my schedule and came and looked at the dishwasher and reported back to Choice. They decided that it was easier to give me a replacement and even though it is not enough for a new one, It is a good downpayment since the dishwasher was from 2013. I think they were fair.

IR ** was very courteous.. He promptly determine the problem with my dryer... The part was ordered.... When it was received..he called and returned to repair my dryer in 30 minutes.. I appreciate that so much. He was about to purchase a tools needed at Lowe's..when my husband loaned the tech what was needed.

When I called and asked questions I was not informed about the $65 dollar service fee for each diagnostic visit and the $3000 max in payments per year. The sales info was not transparent. That is not fair or right. I asked that the 1 month period for the new contract be waived as a courtesy to me and was transferred by customer service to another line. I was on hold a long time and no one answered that call. Not happy. Would not recommend company thus far.

It was very difficult to hear all of the information because they kept dropping their voice data. The agent tried getting closer to their headphones, then dropped the headphones and tried with a "Conference type" call using their speaker phones. Still kept dropping voice while they were talking to us. They had no difficulty hearing us though. At one point it was said on their end that it may have been because of our cell phone. NOT. They are the only ones who have mentioned that it may have been our cell phone. We use speaker on our cell phones a lot and have had no other issues.

Have clogged drain from bathroom sink. Technician wasn't able to unclog it. Now Choice will not pay for it stating that it was up and above normal usage. The technician had a plan to get it unclogged very easily but it involved in removing old pipes and replacing with PVC pipes and connect to the main drain. Choice would not pay. What's the point in having a home warranty when the warranty won't cover services. Now we are out of $85.

My microwave has been acting up not cooking right, then it failed. I did the warranty claim, found out the part to fix it is not made any longer so the technician said it needed to be replaced. Choice rejected the claim saying it was a power surge that caused the failure when the technician said the part failed because it is 22 years old. So beware.

Technician fixed the problem of having no heat in one bedroom; they will come back to replace the shut off valve that connects the steam pipe to the baseboard heater. Great job in less than half-hour. They plan to complete the final touches in April when the heating system is turned off.

The unit is running constantly and I explained this to him. Said I had coolant but that as far as the check went did not go upstairs to look at the unit upstairs, he did not have a ladder. Meanwhile the unit has not shut off. For some reason the unit shut off about 1 hour before he came and worked for awhile, still not blowing out warm air.

I placed a call on my furnace for a loud noise. They sent someone out and they said the motor was going out. Choice would not approve the repair because it was still functioning. 4 Days later it was snowing and I came home from work to a cold house. My sick 82 year old mother and I spent the night using space heaters, when we should not have had to. The next day they approved the repair. A previous call on dishwasher they wouldn’t repair because the hose was clogged.

Strand was very professional and quickly diagnosed the problem. However, Choice Warranty felt the repair was too expensive and offered me $357.00 to get a new dishwasher. I had to pay for the installation and removal of the old unit. My out of pocket cost to get a new similar unit was over $800.00. Great job Strand Appliance, terrible service Choice Warranty.

I have 2 outstanding work orders and neither has been addressed and resolved in 2 weeks beginning with a plumbing issue followed by a lack of heat in our home due to a non working HVAC system. Choice can't find a plumber after 2 weeks and the A/C service company can't get their act together. It is winter and no heat. One item (needs two parts) with the HVAC is the thermostat which needs replacement. The current unit is a Nest Pro. They will only install a $15 bottom of the line unit. So much for fix or replace, not fixing and not replacing. This would be like having your sofa stolen from your home and the insurance company telling you they will only pay for a cot to sit on as it can serve a similar function. Poor, poor, poor.

Appliance Appliance was sent to my home to fix my microwave and washer. They said the microwave needed a motherboard and then fabricated that I overloaded the washer and I needed a new spin basket. They also said I had something between the basket and the machine. They left no diagnostic paperwork. I was dismayed as the technician did not call me back as he promised on 1/16/23. I made a formal complaint to Choice Home.
Appliance Rescue came and fixed both items in less than an hour on 1/19/23. I did not need a motherboard for the microwave. It was fixed in 10 minutes. I did not need a spin basket but a drain pump. The misinformation that Appliance Appliance left caused me to have to pay for work on the washer. Their misdiagnosis caused this customer more money. Thank you Appliance Rescue for your true service and leaving me the diagnostic paper. You truly rescued me.

Fiore Plumbing repair service was excellent. The time it took to get an appointment was the worst. 3 days not 4 hours not 24 hrs... not 48 hrs.... this was a broken sump pump a needed repair and it took a very long time. As to the installation of the faucet/ and checking a repair made on a water valve by Ultimate Drain.. I had to pay Ultimate upfront of $200 to have them do the work... I should not have had to do that... I had a contract with you... You and via you had a contract with Ultimate and they stated you owed them a lot of money and would not complete what was needed unless I paid upfront which I did.
I want $200 refunded and I want to know how I receive this refund? Did Ultimate contact you on this cost? I have asked several times for an invoice from Ultimate and as of this date I have not received the invoice. All I know it cost me $200 even though you approved the valve which needed an adjustment and authorization to install the faucet... Please contact me about these issues **... First, I'm not a complainer but this was absolutely horrible, first I received the diagnosis, and they determined the long-term solution was to replace my microwave. They didn't research what type of microwave I had but wanted to give me 191 dollars for a 4 yrs. old Kenmore Pro Convection Oven that cost over 700 hundred dollars. I don't want them to pay for new microwave but I don't want them to low ball me either and then I was told I could only get e-card Lowe's card to buy a new microwave, I don't want to buy a microwave from Lowe's, I ask could I get a check in the company that I wanted to buy the microwave from and I was told no they couldn't,
Also after I had complained about the amount of money they were giving me then they decided to do their research on what type of microwave I had in up the amount they still wouldn't give me a check, so I call back after talking to another agent and he said, "Yes we can cut you out a check." So he took care of it, the next morning I got a call from another agent and I was told they couldn't honor my request and I could only get a e-card to Lowe's so I said ok because I didn't want to argue with her, after a hour of being upset about the whole situation I call back and talk to another agent and she told me yes I could get a check. So she change it back to me getting a check, I don't know what I'm going to receive in the mail when it comes. Just not right for someone to tell you that you can only go here. Plus the agent need to do their due diligence and properly research the consumer product.

However, the problem lies with actually getting a tech to respond, confirming the order and setting a schedule. At a decent price and the agent answer all my question warranty on all my appliances and set my payment up and what they cover on the policy he answer all my questions. I think I be happy with this company.

I haven’t given a high rating. As I put in my claim on the Thursday had to phone up on the Saturday to ask for progress. Had little response. Got an email about a different option then an email on the Sunday telling me that a technician would be at my house by Wednesday. He didn’t arrive until nearly fifteen minutes near the end of his four hour window. Not a good experience at all. Very disappointed.

I was given a prompt and professional service and caring for my needs from my furnace when it no longer heated, and my renters were away for a few days and by the time they got home, it was running, and they were very happy.

I was recommended to choice warranty by a Friend. I had a positive experience with the representative I spoke to (Maurice). I feel better knowing that my house is covered for 42 months and I now have the convenience of calling someone when or if I need to.

Did not care for the Technician that came to my home. Was not friendly. Didn't go over the repair after he was finished. I have no idea how to release the opener if ever need to manually open garage door. The handle that was hanging there is not there anymore. A pin was missing from when the mechanism broke so I had no choice UT to purchase a new track $250,00. I wasn't expecting to pay. Had I known that the track would have to be replaced due to a pin missing I would have left the door manual did I was able to afford to fix it. It would be better to be able to talk to a live person when calling for service call. I would have had a better idea of what to expect. Not real happy with this company.

Pleased with the rep that helped me. Had given lots of thought to find a home warranty package. Saw plenty ads with G Foreman doing your ad. Coverage was what I wanted and needed. Granted I hope I don't need it but if I should I now have it.

Submitted a claim on Sunday, Monday afternoon technician arrived and diagnosed problem. After a few unsuccessful attempts to get repair work approved, technician completed repair and the ice maker has worked great since then with no leaking water! Mister Fixer Handyman and appliance repair, Moise **, was EXCELLENT!

I made the warranty request online late in the evening. I received a call scheduling the service technician the next morning at 8:00. The tech was at the house at 10:30 AM and done by 11:30. I have a new garage door opener and the service was outstanding.

Tech was on time and solved the problem quickly. He determined that the flame sensor wasn't as clean as it should be. I will use them to do my annual maintenance. Good overall experience. The appointment was set up easily and for an acceptable wait time.

I went through the whole process of signing up and took advantage of different programs they offer to save money long term. I gave my card info and received an email that I was billed over $2500! At no point was it mentioned that I had to pay it all upfront - I was under the impression that everything was "monthly" because that was how it was constantly explained to me. Now I have an overdraft of my checking account and am working to get my money back :-( Make sure that if you are deciding to move forward with this company, be sure that you are on their MONTHLY plan before providing any payment information.

Do yourself a favor and do not hire this company. A few months back I contacted them to fix an issue about some water leaks I was having. In the lapse of three months, I have gone through three different contractors to fix this issue. The first one told me he couldn't fix the issue when I spoke with him so I don't know why he was even hired by Choice. The second contractor showed up and submitted his quote to Choice and he never got an answer from them to go ahead. The third contractor they assigned straight up told me they did not want to deal with Choice since they had submitted their quote and had never heard back from Choice.
Throughout this time Choice kept blaming the contractors for not submitting their quotes. I have contacted Choice about just getting a refund since they were never able to help me and they said they would have to cancel my policy and there was a fee for that which to me is ridiculous. I have already kept my end of the deal by paying for their home warranty service in full, so why would I be subjected to a cancelation fee when it is them that have not been able to do what they were hired for? Learn from my experience and stay away from this company.

The only problem I had was with our A/C… It quit working in the middle of summer (and we get it serviced every spring and fall per your rules by the company that installed the units). I contacted CHW and you were unable to get a company to come out to fix…So we contacted the installing company and they came out and fixed… CHW would not reimburse me… I would have gladly paid the difference.

The technician was great and appeared quite knowledgeable and helpful; my dissatisfaction is with Choice denial of the request to correct the problem; I understand my responsibility to change lightbulbs but these are not ordinary light bulbs. I am 76 years old and unable to figure out how to remove and replace these bulbs. They are very complex; I paid almost $2000 for this contract and you disapprove a $170 repair. Ridiculous!

Had to wait 3 days in the winter cold as my furnace did not work. When I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction and spoke to a supervisor I was told my only other option was to hire an independent contractor to which I would have to pay all costs up front, have the tech take pics at which time the claim would be reviewed and if approved I would have to wait 30 yes 30 days for a reimbursement. Your system is FLAWED.

My washer got broken and they were very responsive and professional. The technician noted what needed to be repaired and the next day the company sent me an email that they recommended and approved replacement. It is worth having a home warranty and I’m happy with their customer care.

They recognized the problem immediately. They were professional in their duties. I was originally advised it may be the compressor but it was the fan. They had to replace the water line because of the faulty fan. I just want to give them an A rating for their service.

Three week wait - One no show. I’ve had two requests. Clothes dryer and heating system malfunction - no heat. Let’s start with the heating system. It took two weeks to get someone to service the heat. It’s winter, so some sense of urgency would be nice. CHW stated they are having trouble finding a company. We live 25 miles from Charlotte! They will reimburse me if I want to get my own repair person.
The dryer also took almost three weeks to get someone out. Same offer to reimburse if we went with our own repair person. They were having trouble - again - finding someone. The first person they sent was a no show. They told CHW they found no issue! They were a no-show, so how could they find no issues? The second person found the heating element to be bad. 15 minutes later, the dryer was up and running. The vendors that showed up were great and fun to work with. But CHW lacks having a robust network and a timely response has yet to be seen. Helpdesk personnel are difficult to understand and agents are slow to comprehend the issue as they may be at offshore call centers?

The sales rep was so good giving me the discounts. He gave me such a good deal. They took 400 and some dollars on my credit card for three different payments and I'm paid up for 3 years. However, I've called several times as I want them to send me a contract so I know what is covered and if I have an account number that I have to give when I call. I haven't received it and I have already called twice. I left the guy who signed me up several messages and he never called me back.
I have a humidifier on my furnace that was not working. They said they don't fix those. So, I had to find my own contractor who fixed it. There's gonna be $200 out of my pocket. If I had that hard copy, I would have known what is included and what is not.

Renewed my plan with the company and still wondering why. The last repair by the plumber was good, no complain. Professional service. My previous repair for my kitchen light that did not work was decline. The repairman told me that the ballast had to be replaced. When I spoke with a case manager he said they were replacing the bulbs and that was not covered. I had to pay another repairman to get the whole light system replaced when the claim was denied. I don't think that was justified as it was not the bulb that was replaced but I had to get the light system replaced. Was not a happy customer as I think this claim should have been honored as it was not changing bulbs but the whole system.

Unfortunately, the contractor selected to do the job turned out to be unscrupulous and quite immoral at best. Be Relieved Heating and Air Conditioning, Company selected by Choice Home Warranty turned out to be unscrupulous in billing and service. I was charged $2385, for out-of-pocket expenses to have my AC condenser replaced under warranty.
Be Relieved HVAC initially refused to provide a itemized estimate for my out-of-pocket expenses. Upon pressing the issue, I was finally provided a detailed estimate of all cost. I was shocked to discover that Be Relieved HVAC's markup on parts and material exceeded criminal rationality. For example, I was charged $345.00 for a Safety T-Switch SS2 which wholesales for $9.50 and retails on Amazon for $16.50. Needless to say, after researching the price of every item charged, I discovered the average markup exceeded 400 percent. I contacted Choice Home Warranty of my situation and request a new contractor and compensation for the $75.00 service fee wasted on Be Relieved Heating & Air.

We were told we had to wait 30 days before we could claim any work to be done on our new policy. Finally, when our policy went into affect, we called in the microwave problem. It is a built-in, "the only type they cover, as we were told." Both the technician & us were perplexed when a late answer came back that "it was preexisting." No mention of that at the time of purchase. Now both the repair shop & us customers are wondering, how long is the waiting period really; it must be more than the 30 days we were told. I guess everything would be preexisting on day one, so how long before the warranty we paid for really applies? I have not gotten an answer on this. Long story short, the repair shop gave us a deal on fixing it, & took the time to understand our dilemma. We still paid out of pocket on our first claim, however.

I had water leaking into the refrigerator compartment, so I filled out a claims form online and couple hours later I was approved and a company texted me with information of the company and technician came out the following day. The technician was great and fixed the problem and that definitely made me happy. The people kept me informed throughout the whole process times and who would be here. Very professional man and no mess left behind. I’m certainly happy with CHOICE HOME WARRANTY.

I had some problems with my toilet running and the faucet in the kitchen was leaking. I called Choice and made an appointment. The guy came out and charged me $65 to tell me that the warranty was gonna turn me down because these are all pre-existing conditions. I understand that, but my house is 22 years old so everything that I would have fixed would be a pre-existing condition. So I don't understand the whole thing. I called Choice and they got some woman from I don't know what department. She said it was not covered because it was a pre-existing condition. That's why I canceled the whole thing. Also, they were rude and the whole thing was just nasty. I paid Choice but none of the contracts start until after a month, so I waited until after the month to make the service call. But that never happened with American Home Shield. The only thing that happened with American Home Shield was when I used them, they started raising up my rates.

We had a leaky toilet. The claim experience was good but everybody was busy. This was an emergency. Other than that, they worked it out and made sure the contractor got here. The tech was a good guy and he resolved the problem.

The first rep told me what the initial price was and said "You can get a better deal." He started giving me all these numbers and asked me, "Does that sound good?". I said, "Yeah" and he asks for my credit card number. I didn't realize he was going to use the card for the full six years. After he told me that, I said, "No. I'm a senior citizen and I can't afford $2500." He then said, "How about if you just think about it?" I said, "Fine, I'll think about it and I'll call you back tomorrow and cancel it."
I called back the next day and he said, "I'm busy at the moment. How about if I call you back in a couple of hours?" And I said, "Excuse me?" He says, "Yeah, call me back in a couple of hours, and then I can help you out then." I waited almost two hours and no one called me back. I called the credit card company to find out if I could cancel and the rep said I couldn't cancel because I had given the permission to use the card. A rep told me to use a different number instead and I told Choice what had happened with the first person. I was very disappointed with him. Other than that, the rest of them were excellent. I was put down to one year and a refund.

I had them in the past and service could have been a little better. They took so long to get someone to do repairs. Recently, I signed up at the beginning of the month but I haven't gotten my card and information from them. With them, in case something breaks down, I'm covered one way or another.

I got two cases with Choice, one was resolved and one is still ongoing. The first experience was okay. The second one is not so much because they only cover so much of the repair. That's my only downfall. I was under the assumption a lot would be covered underneath the warranty, but I'm finding out that a lot of stuff isn't covered as far as work being done or what's not covered and what is considered a liability. I have a hole in my ceiling and I can't get it done properly because it takes two days for something like that to be repaired with spackling. So I was denied on a lot of stuff because of it.
I had one of my pipes burst and I got that fixed with no problem. I was approved for that. But it left a hole in my ceiling. They don't repair the hole because I had a pipe issue. So now, I have to reapply for another claim to get the hole covered when the contractor had to open up the wall to get to the pipe. I'm still waiting for this other technician to call me to make an appointment to finally finish up. That's something that's been on my roof for almost two weeks now.
With Choice Warranty, you have to file a claim, then they hire a technician, and then the technician calls you to notify you for the appointment. But I don't have any idea how long it takes. I have to call and find out what's going on. I'm not notified if it's approved or not. It doesn't tell me on the application that it's been approved. Today, I had a call to find out if the quote for the job was approved. The insurance is only going to cover up to $600. So the only way I'm going to know is if I call or the technician tells me, "Okay, you've been approved." But today I had to call because I've been sitting in the wind waiting for someone to call me. I like to have an answer, not right away, but at least today. It shouldn't take more than a day to get an answer of any shape or form.

The salesman was really good but I'm not happy with them. My garage door opener's arm broke off at the door. Then I was told that the warranty doesn't cover the door. It just covers the motor. I paid $300. I should have known the warranty didn't cover the actual garage door.

The rep was very nice and they did not push me. I said to the rep, "Tell me what you have and who you use here." She told me and I told her to let me give it some thought. She said, "You got my number if you wanna call me back, or I'll call you back." I liked that they use local people. The price was 1,400 and something dollars I said it was pretty steep. The rep said "I can divide it up in three months in equal payments." And I said, "Okay."
It was very easy to sign up. The only complaint I have is that I should have been sent a hard copy of the contract in the mail. I'm 72 years old and we don't have a computer here. We're a rural town and our internet service is awful. It would be a big plus to say, "Let us send you your hard copy in the mail."

I have one claim for a water heater which is still in process. The contractor has yet to finish the repair. I sent them a text today trying to resolve but still I have no response. The only thing that's wrong with it is that it had turned off so I had to reignite the pilot. But I needed that part and I can't get it unless I get it from the company.

At first, I was discouraged because I needed to file a claim and they were making me jump through a bunch of hoops. The service provider had told them I needed a garage door opener. They tried to find a loophole to not have to take care of it for me. I got the feeling they were trying to get away with not having to pay my claim. They told me flat out that it wasn't going to be covered. The tech had to come back twice for the same reason and after the second time, they were gonna have him come back again. That's when I got very vocal and said he should not have to come back again. The tech had to repeatedly call them and tell them it's not working. Finally, they agreed they would cover it. If I had not been persistent, they would not have covered it. But they eventually paid for it so I was happy.

I got called by my electric company which takes care of my water bill and said I used 8,000 gallons of water. Choice sent a plumber who found there was something with my toilet. I also needed a new kitchen light and a new ballast. They put that on. Now, they're coming to repair my dishwasher. I've had very good experiences with the techs and I like Choice as my warranty.
