DELORDS INC. Sent a young man who was knowledgeable and showed us an easy fix for our problem with our garbage disposal. He was polite and very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Choice for sending him so quickly. I am very satisfied with how my claim went.

The company you referred was punctual they came out repair the washer, but it still didn’t work now. They have to order a pot a week later. I’m still without a washer and I had to go to the laundromat to spend $40 for that reason I won’t give you a five star. As far as referring to a friend I don’t know yet. I’m still waiting to have my washer repair and every time I call it takes a long time to get my appliances repair.

Filed a claim due to heater blower will not shut off and it gets a strange burning smell, have to turn the breaker off to shut the blower off, my claim was denied because they said the problem started before I had the home warranty which is not true, my heater, blower was working perfectly fine until the last week. I filed an appeal so we will see what happens. So if they refuse to pay my home warranty I paid the money for is useless. So not very happy with company already.

I was charged $75 for the technician visit and let me know that he needs to replace the heater motor. The worst came when the claim was denied by Choice Home Warranty. I'm not happy with this company. This is the second time that they refuse to approve a repair.

The Guy Appliance technician Richard was awesome and very professional. Richard Greeted me and my wife and went straight to the den and asked questions about the Amana clothes dryer. I told him of the issues and right away stated to troubleshoot and determined the timer was bad. He ordered it and will be in next Monday. Thank you.

We’re happy to have finally found a company that gets it. Everything went smoothly and efficiently. We would highly recommend Choice Home Warranty. Our clothes dryer went out and the technician guided us through the whole process as he worked to repair it. The cost to repair outweighed the cost to replace so Choice is sending us a voucher for Lowe’s to replace. We hope to remain customers.

Nothing is cover because they claim everything as a preexisting defect or manufacturer fault. I've had them for 2 regular repairs to my dryer and oven and both were not covered because them claimed it was a manufacturer defect. On 10 year old appliances.

I’m very satisfied with the service. I’m not happy with confusing emailed dates and times. I have used CHW services quite a few times and always am satisfied and never experienced scheduling of appointments as confusing. Brad was very proper, efficient, and explained the problem and possible future problems because of the size of the sink.

The tech was very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem very quickly. He was even able to fix the problem with parts he had already in his possession. The only problem I felt there was is that he arrived close to 7 pm.

This is my third experience using a home warranty company and by far IT IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE THUS FAR. I notified CHW on the 29th of December 2025 that my refrigerator was not working properly and it took CHW until 14 January 2026 to get a technician on-site to remedy the problem. THAT’S TWO WEEKS AND TWO DAYS. Repeated calls to CHW were met with abject indifference. In my opinion CHW is a terrible company with lackluster customer service. I WILL NOT RENEW MY CONTACT WITH CHW.

The plumbing came quickly and resolved the issue. The plumber was very friendly and explained all aspects in detail with the issues. Also the overall process was simple from raising the ticket to closure.

Called for service on furnace not heating 1/11/26. Technician assigned and arrived 1/13. Stated nothing was wrong. 1/14 Unit totally not heating again. Another tech came out, found part of problem and returned 1/19. Part replaced and worked for 6 hours. Technician stated motor definitely going out but warranty company would not replace until it was “totally” not working! 1/20 Unit totally not working with temps in the 30’s and I will not be available for the 12 hr arrival window until 1/27. Hate the fact that CHW will not repair broken units until they are completely non functional, delaying actual repair of system. They would place bandaids instead of repairing or “replacing”.

The ai assistant was great. My only complaint is I CAN'T do anything online because your website says my account got canceled. It makes it that much more difficult doing it over the phone. Otherwise I am happy with the claim service as to submitting a claim

Service tech was great. CHOICE claim was confusing. They gave me one date and then sent a change with another co. 1st company confirmed. I called CHOICE to verify vendor. They said 1st Co. While 1st Co here fixing my garage. I got a call from 2nd Company to confirm date. I told them someone else had come. Very Confusing!!!.

I submitted my claim and a technician was sent the same day. He told me he would submit the paperwork and he should hear back the next day. Unfortunately that took a week with no response from whom they sent. After a 2 weeks a different technician was assigned who fixed the problem the same day. Choice responded to my text, however, I felt that the first technician they sent was subpar and lacked integrity. While I understand that not all people in this area are reliable I feel the company should choose qualified and dependable technicians to send to your home for repairs.

Technician did not discuss issue. I feel that it important to the owner to discuss the problem. Other than that, the issue was corrected.. This has been the second time it has been repaired and feel that it should be replaced.

The technician was great! The appliance company has 5 star reviews, reputable and very professional and great communication from them with scheduling. Phone calls to let me know exactly when they are on the way. He was able to fix the issue. The parts were replaced and covered. He didn’t mind getting under the dishwasher as it was kind of tricky to access.

Washer issue was reported and within 2 days we had an answer. They couldn't find a service tech and we had to use a local technician. Which sped up the process and reached a solution - full replacement. Unfortunately, they only reimburse for wholesale. But hey, it still helps. More than satisfied, at this point.

The technician Abdul was very skilled and resolved the issues quickly. There was a part that was broken and he replaced it. Otherwise I had to replace the entire garage operating unit that would have cost me a lot. As Abdul was skilled he was able to figure out the actual issue and was able to replace the broken part. The technician was on time. He worked on the heat for over 2hrs.on Saturday. He had to order a part for the heat. He came back on Monday with the new part. The heat is working better. It gets warmer quickly.

This review is for Claim #** for our hot water heater. The bottom of the tank had rusted out and needed to be replaced. We discovered orange water all over the area in which the water heater was located in our garage. Some of the water had run into the garage storage room also. I submitted the claim on 1/11/2026 and needed to have the replacement ASAP, as we were hosting a Missionary family for a week beginning 1/13/2026, and would need hot water for bathing, laundry and doing dishes.
CHW assigned the job to TB Plumbing but said the earliest date for the tech to come to our home was going to be 1/14/2026. I called TB and CHW also sent an emergency request to TB Plumbing to work us in on 1/12. Even though it was a Sunday, TB Plumbing called and said they could get a tech to us on the 12th! This was great news, but there was a caveat. In order to get authorization for the replacement, it would still take as much as 2 days for TB to send the diagnosis to CHW, get approval and install a new water heater.
When I told them this needed to be done ASAP, TB had me send photos of our heater with all necessary information - make, size, model, serial #, as well as the damage. They offered to get a tech to us, bring the replacement heater on the 12th, but that we would have to pay up front for the entire job. A cost of ~ $1600. They would then submit the bill to CHW and whatever CHW would pay they would reimburse to us.
While I greatly appreciated TB's willingness to get this job done when we needed it, they also said there would be additional expenses in that cost that CHW normally does not pay that would end up costing us ~ $600 out of pocket! Because I couldn't be certain of a more exact amount CHW would pay, and since my husband and our neighbor have replaced water heaters in the past, and since we have a tight budget, which is why we have contracted with CHW, and rely on CHW to help us with these kinds of issues, we opted to purchase a water heater from Home Depot and install it ourselves. I contacted CHW and was informed that they would reimburse us, but I have yet to find out how to submit the necessary information to CHW for this reimbursement.
In summary, I greatly appreciated all the help TB Plumbing gave us, as well as the respect and pleasant attitude. They totally understood that we needed to be assured of what CHW would cover. I would highly recommend TB Plumbing and will contact them again for future plumbing needs. I am withholding my review of CHW for this project until I get reimbursed for our water heater. I believe we saved CHW $500-$600 by doing this ourselves, so there shouldn't be a problem. Stay tuned. NOTE: If you publish this, please do so in its entirety, including my comments on CHW. I was very pleased with Choice Home Warranty. I was with them for many years and to my own fault I went with a less expensive company and regrets were made! I soon returned to Choice Home and have been nothing but pleased with it all. The easy in making a claim, the prompt response time, and the service repairs.

Choice Home Warranty was a complete waste of money. At the beginning, they did fix a minor dishwasher issue, which made me believe the coverage would actually be there when something serious happened. I was wrong. After that, I had a water leak that they refused to cover. Most recently, when my heating system failed, they once again denied my claim after delays, runarounds, and hiding behind fine print. Being left without heat and forced to pay out of pocket for a major repair was unacceptable.
It became very clear that this company will cover small, inexpensive items but avoid responsibility when costly, essential systems fail. A home warranty is supposed to protect homeowners from exactly these situations—not abandon them. Because of these repeated denials, I canceled my policy. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to read the fine print and not expect real coverage when it actually matters.

Ice maker broke after 13 months after purchase and claim initially denied as to wear and tear. Claim department indicated that the contract language denies the claim under the wear and tesr section. Even though the damaged occurred after the manufacture’s warranty, Choice Warranty denied on wear and tear. The use of the product from its initial use is encountering wear, and that after the manufacturer’s warranty, the product should be covered from Choice Warranty.

This company is the best. I'm so glad I purchased plan. I called and they were out next day. The man was polite and very well trained. Co-pay was decent compared to other companies co-pays. He fixed my appliance, and When I called the customer service is great. This is best deal in price, service, trained technicians, and customer service. Shop around. You won't find any better. Watch out, some copays on cheap insurance. Copays out the roof. This company is everything you need.

Submitted a work order but was denied. I pay my payment every month but seem like there always a reason for not approving my work order. I'm probably going to cancel my plan. I'm not one that file a lot of claims but when I do it seem like I'm always denied.

Whenever I need to have a repair it gets prompt attention. I got a notice it would be a week out spoke with agent advise he would see if can be rescheduled received a notice will be here in 2 days. Very easy to get issue resolved.

My hot water tank went out so I put in a claim. Choice sent a contractor who found the tank was still under warranty. They decided I should pay additional money for them to remove the tank and take it back to Home Depot then install it. If it was not under warranty they would have to buy a new one but since it’s under warranty they want me to pay more money which is unfair. I still have no hot water. Paula **. Do I need a lawyer?

Friday afternoon the sewage pipe outside the house blocked up. Saturday morning I called to make a claim and get some help. The automated voice went through the information set-up and said Choice would find a contractor to assist. By Saturday evening there was still no response, so I opted for the reimbursement option - only to find out that Choice had to approve any contractor evaluation of the problem before any action was taken - and they only worked Mon-Fri. Having been unable to use ANY water in the house for 24 hours, I called a local plumber who was out within 30 minutes, quickly evaluated the problem and removed the blockage. I wasn’t about to wait another day or two for an emergency problem to be fixed. The fact that apparently Choice has no ability to respond to an urgent problem is very disappointing, and I will not be renewing my contract with them.

So far, my experience with CHW has been very positive. I’ve been impressed with how quickly they respond when I submit a claim and how easy it is to get an appointment scheduled. The technicians I’ve worked with have been excellent—professional, courteous, and clearly experienced. They show up on time, communicate well, and take the time to explain the problem and what needs to be done to fix it. I’ve also appreciated that they are respectful of my home and clean up after the work is completed. I’ve only used CHW for a short period of time, but the service I’ve received so far has been consistent and dependable. If this level of responsiveness and professionalism continues, I can confidently say it has been a good decision to have coverage through CHW.
Option 3 (positive but measured). I’ve only been a CHW customer for a short time, but so far I’m pleased with the service. The main thing I’ve noticed is the quick response time—claims have been acknowledged promptly and I haven’t had to wait long for a technician to come out. The technicians have also been professional and timely. They communicate clearly, confirm the issue, and explain what they’re doing in a way that makes sense. I haven’t had any major problems with the process yet, and scheduling has been smooth.
Because I’m still new to CHW, I can’t speak to every type of claim or long-term experience, but based on the service I’ve received so far, everything has gone well. Overall, the service has been efficient and the technicians have been courteous, which makes a big difference when you’re dealing with home repairs. If you tell me what CHW stands for in your survey (Choice Home Warranty? Cinch? something else), I can match the wording to the exact company name.

This Company is absolutely the worst from Sales, to Customer Service to the Executive Office! The company did a bait and switch and did not stand behind what the sales person told us. We purchased a multi-year contract and before we purchased it we asked the sales person what would happen if we ended the contract early. He said that we would get a full refund prorated and we even discussed an actual example of how it would work. When we cancelled early, we got back a pittance of what we should have received. We complained all the way to the Executive Office but the money hungry Executives don't care about doing the right thing! Don't believe a thing they say to just lure you in to purchase! Stay away from CHOICE HOME WARRANTY - They are HORRIBLE!

I had to select at least one star to submit this review. Otherwise I would give minus stars. This has been one of the **worst service experiences** I’ve ever had. Choice Home Warranty advertises that they “cover everything,” but in reality **they cover almost nothing** when you actually need service. Every claim turns into a denial. No matter what the issue is, they find some excuse to say it’s “not covered,” even though it clearly falls under what they promote in their coverage. The process feels intentionally designed to avoid paying for repairs. The **wait time is unacceptable**. You wait days just to hear back, then longer for a technician, and even after inspections are done, the claim is still denied. Customer service is frustrating, repetitive, and provides scripted responses without actually helping resolve the issue.
I paid for peace of mind and received the exact opposite: wasted time, stress, and out-of-pocket expenses. This company takes your money upfront but disappears when you need them most. I would **strongly advise anyone to stay away**. Save your money and hire your own contractor instead. At least you’ll know where your money is going. Choice Home Warranty is misleading, unreliable, and not worth it. Save your money.

Yesterday I noticed that my dishwasher was not filling with water properly and leaving the dishes dirty. This afternoon, I called Choice Home Warranty and was able to scheduled an appointment for this Monday morning. I am very impressed with the professional and quick response to my claim.

Put a claim in. The claim was processed. I looked to see was the part covered. It was and then 2 minutes before the clinician is to come into the property CHW sends a email saying my claim is denied. They make me pay $75 service fee for no service. I will be canceling both my policy for the inconvenience and rudeness of customer service.

Toma of Cascade Plumbing called me when he was able to come earlier than his appointment time to fix my toilet. He understood the problem right away and was able to fix it within 10 minutes. 1/17/26 Called Home Choice Warranty. Explained my Flex Zone Refrigerator Drawer was freezing all my food and I was not able to adjust the temperature. Fantastic communication with AI and within 1 hour I received a email stating that Fix Smart Appliance Services would be at my home on 1/17/26 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Received a call from the technician, Julio and he arrived within the hour. Julio adjusted the temperature and reviewed all his findings with me. All is working well and Julio is a fabulous technician. Thank you, Nancy

My tenant reported a leak on ceiling. Upon contacting Choice Warranty they scheduled the appointment and the next day the technician took care of the problem and recommended some ways to avoid the leak in future.

Technician showed up right in the time frame promised. Checked the outlets to assure they were working properly, then checked the breaker box. All was good but the breaker box is old and should be replaced. He submitted a request to CHW for the repair. Thank you CHW.

Couldn't wait 24-48 hours to have a leaking water heater called back about. Found our own technician, who did a great job. The process to document the work, submitting information to get authorized, and then submitting more to get reimbursed, is harder than finding a plumber and getting the heater replaced. Lastly, the reimbursement amount is less than half of the cost. We paid $1,120 for this plan and have only used it this one time. Our reimbursement is for $950. So, we would have saved money by not even having this plan. Fortunately, the seller of our home paid for the majority of the cost of the plan.

Che did not fix my microwave because grease was inside the motor turntable. This is a place I have no control over. I spoke to Leslie ** from Choice Home Warranty. She told me that they would not fix my microwave because grease was in that area and I don’t need to get a second opinion because they decided not to fix it.

I had just woke up and decided to text stop and cancel. Well Jesus was outside knocking on my door. So I invited him in and we started talking about my situation. Before he left my home he was so patient. Naturally it didn’t leak but Jesus said I’m trying everything before I leave to see if he could fix the problem and by him be persistent he found my leak while listening to my testimony about my past illness and how God left me here and all glory to Him. Truly grateful, thankful and blessed to have met this young man.

They kept refusing claims and/or tell me that it wasn't covered. I am an disabled elderly person that is on a fixed income (just from Social Security) and got this insurance to help me with repairs. Then I tried to cancel the policy via their "contact us" form on their website. They sent a "we got your message and will respond with 2 days". They never responded. Filled out the form again, this time I didn't get the email. Again, they took out the auto payment. By then it was the holidays and I didn't have the time to deal with it, so I waited until after the New Year. In the meantime, they took out yet another auto payment. Filed a claim with my bank, and at first they gave me back the money, then took it back out because I believe the company told them I never cancelled the policy. Now I have to get my son to call them and cancel the policy, I can't call them because I have trouble hearing on the phone.

If you plan on buying a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty, you need to read this! BEWARE! We first purchased their warranty on our home in Plymouth MA three years ago. We had a couple of small claims in which they took care of. So when we moved to South Carolina, and bought an older home. We continued the warranty on our new home. Even though the heating system, heat pump, was over 20 years old their brochure says no problem! However, when it was determined by a licensed contractor that the system had failed, they fought us tooth and nail not to pay the claim!!
There were many heated conversations between their claims agent and and our contractor's office. One in particular, ending in their representative calling the employ a bitch! And, they assisted they didn't know what they were doing, even though they not only installed the system 20 years ago, but maintained it! They asked for a video of the leak, When we sent it, they wouldn't accept it. They wanted a picture of the leak. After they got that, that wasn't good enough either. So, they denied the claim living us to pay the $10,000 bill.

I was surprised of the great changes you guys have made to your website. Putting in a claim is very fast and to the point, not like it was last time.... I'm impressed with your new system. Also, I didn't have to wait for someone to find a repairman and hopefully that repairman shows up when scheduled. Today, the GE technician showed up on time and when promised, and was able to fix the problem at hand and if the problem happens once again, he told me what steps to follow.

I am very disappointed that you allow a vendor to pick up a claim and then they can not come for a week or more to check out the issues. Is this the common practice with warranty claims. It used to be that vendor would address the issue within days and then get permission to do the repair. A client now has to fight to get a vendor out within 2 days to check out the issue. Please enlighten your vendors that they must check out within 2 days and if they cannot preform they need to pass the claim to a vendor that can. I, the customer do not control that part, Choice controls that and should be looking to protect the customer and not the vendor.

Horrible experience, waste of time and money. Had two policies, canceled first policy with a few calls. Now is over 30 days, over 100 calls, multiple emails and messages and no luck in canceling my second policy. They have no cancellation department now because I can’t get anyone to help me cancel policy. Now they renew the policy and started charging me after I explained to multiple choice reps that I was not interested. On top of all my calls I also received two or more calls every day for the last 30 days trying to sell me a new policy. They can sell me the service but no one can cancel it. Cancellation needs to be done in the last 30 days before policy ended, is impossible. I recommend trying to talk to the cancellation department before buying a policy, they will promise that someone will calm you back and you will be waiting for over a month. Don’t get scammed.

When my garbage disposal broke it clogged my pipes so I could not use my kitchen sink. I purchased the home warranty when I bought my home in Jan 2025 because many of the appliances were older and I did not want to face a repair bill right after purchasing a new home. My warranty was due to expire in Feb 2026 and I frankly was on the fence about buying the warranty again. When I called Choice about the repair they worked quickly to find a repairman who came out to my home and fixed the system the next day. The only charge was my $75 service fee. Needless to say that I purchased another warranty for 2026.

I joined this company in 2022 and paid up front the full cost for coverage till 2027. During the first 2 years when I needed them they came within 48 hours. Now, for the last two times I have needed them, I have had to wait up to 3 or more weeks for a plumber and a AC man! When they finally called to come they were on their way without 24 hr notice coming from Memphis. How do they know my schedule after waiting eternity for them to come? Currently, I am needing a plumber again to just switch out an old faulty faucet and a 23 yr old garbage disposal. I call for the service and I am told to pay $75 up front before they can come. When I asked when will they come I am told maybe within 48 hrs or "whenever they can find somebody".
I know there are over 100 plumbers in Jackson, TN. So, why so long? Is it because the plumbers in Jackson have had issues with this company? I do recall a option this company gives and that option requires the customer to find their own plumber or AC man provided the plumber or AC man fill out all the necessary paperwork...One plumber told me they do not have time for that, they have their own paperwork to complete. By now I am feeling let down and suckered into this HC policy and they are on my scam list!

Terrible experience with my first claim that I've ever filed in my life. My boiler was making a loud banging sound over the weekend. After doing some research, I turned it off right away and filed the claim on Sunday. Received an email Monday someone would be out. Nope. I live in the Northern Midwest. It's very cold in the winter! Tuesday the expert shows up. Boiler pump is shot. He's submitting the findings and I should hear soon. Thursday morning still no word so I call. They tell me I have to submit my inspection report. No one bothered to tell me this. No email, no phone call, nothing.
So I send it after work and then I finally get an email request to submit it after the fact. Mind you, this is 2 days after the expert came and 4 days without heat. We were in the single digits today and we'll be in negative digits this weekend. Also, you don't have the option to stay on hold with them either. You put your phone number into the queue and they call you back. I did this 5 hours ago to ask about a hotel being it's going to be bitter cold in the coming days. Apparently, I'm still in the queue because I'm still awaiting a call back. This should have been a priority! It's freezing outside, I have kids and animals! I wish I would have looked into this company a little bit more before going with them. Shame on me.

I have been Choice Home Warranty customer since 2021, they were used to be good. Two of my outlets in garage all of a sudden stopped working. I had put in a claim, technician came and I had paid my contracted fees to the technician. After diagnosing the issue technician/electrician told me that the Neutral has been disconnected, that could be because of normal wear and tear. Cable could have been gone bad over the years. Choice Home warranty declined my claim and told me that this is not normal wear and tear. Of course I don't have any tripped fuse on my electrical panel.
After speaking with claim manager Veanna **, she was very rude to me, and told me this is not normal wear and tear and it is not covered. And my case will not be considered. I even ask to speak with supervisor. She refused to get anyone else on the call and she told me she was the highest decision maker. I told her that I will write negative reviews, of you don't consider this request to think again and see how can outlet stop working normally? She said she won't consider my request and I can do what I have to do. So stay away from this company. They are trying to scam customer and try to take their money. Please do not go them anymore. Save yourself some money and go to other home warranty companies. I don't recommend this company to anyone, not even my enemy. And

After 20 years of service, my sump pump installed in the crawl space under my house stopped. A technician came out and inspected the pump and confirmed the impeller was frozen, the pump needed to be replaced. A claim with photos was submitted and ultimately denied because of the way it was installed. I talked to the technician and he said it was installed properly, the pump just gave out. The normal life expectancy is 5-10 years. This pump ran for 20 years. The installation was not incorrect in his opinion as it left the pit, it went up and back down to exit the crawl space to prevent water from returning. I appealed the Choice home warranty decision but they would not alter their review and denial. This is really absurd.
The system was inspected by the city when the house was built, by my home inspector when I bought the house and by the plumber selected by Choice Home Warranty. They all approved the design. Obviously the design did not cause the pump to fail prematurely, it lasted 20 years! I would not recommend Choice home warranty. I paid a lot of money to have the warranty. Denials like this show that they do not want to pay for claims if they can help it. They would not explain their denial further than their written denial. I will not renew my warranty.

I recently filed a claim with Choice Home Warranty for an electric tankless water heater shortly after purchasing my home. The unit repeatedly tripped breakers, made loud abnormal noises, and could not be safely operated. Choice Home Warranty was responsive, assigned a case manager, and sent a service provider to inspect the issue. I appreciated the communication and professionalism throughout the process. However, after review, the claim was denied because the water heater was determined to be incompatible with the home. Multiple professionals (plumber and electrician) later confirmed that the system could not be supported by the home’s existing electrical setup and would require significant upgrades to function.
The unit was installed prior to purchase and represented as functional at the time of sale, so the outcome was disappointing. Overall, the process was handled professionally, but the coverage limitations did not resolve a pre-existing system incompatibility. I recommend future customers carefully review policy exclusions related to installation and system compatibility before purchasing.

I was completely pleased and satisfied with the technician from True North Garage Door Service. I, however, was very disappointed to learn that my particular garage door opener was not covered by Choice Home Warranty. It would have been nice to read in my insurance policy that my particular garage door would not be covered; it should have been explicit. And if it did, that I would only be covered by only $250. Due to my insurance coverage, or lack there of, I will now have to pay $2,200.

7 year old Bosch dishwasher could not be repaired as parts were not available. Choice offered 270 for replacement which was not acceptable. Went to appeal, increased amt to 370 but would only issue e-card to Lowe's, which was not acceptable as we had already purchased new dishwasher that they needed to send check. Said they could not do that. After filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau they are sending check in the amount of 503. Terrible customer service, when your company says they will replace appliance if it can't be repaired and then offer amounts that are inadequate to replace appliance.

The Electrician came the next day after I submitted my claim, which was a day earlier than originally scheduled, He quickly resolved the issue, which if I hadn't been unsure of what breakers to move I could've easily avoided a service call and fee. Thankful that problem was resolved

I have used my Choice Home Warranty several times over the past few years for repairs on my washer, our 2nd fridge in the garage, and my pool heater, and all-in-all I have been happy with the service. My only complaint is that they go up on the monthly price every year that rolls around without any kind of notification or explanation. In 2023 I started with a complete plan around $67 dollars per month with an $85 copay. In 2024 it went to $79 per month with a $100 copay and now has gone to over $94 a month with the $100 copay. If it hits over $100 a month, I'm thinking about just putting the money in a savings account and using that fund if needed for appliance repairs or replacements.

I had a problem with amount of hot water in my shower so I assumed logically it was my hot water tank. But plumber said it was my cylinder in my shower mixer and that I could put in another claim and he would make another trip with a service call fee but they would not approve it because there was some hot water so it cost me $466 to fix. Not fair because dumb me thought not great hw would be hw tank. Choice warranty should reimburse me minus $65 service fee.

Choice suggested replacing the dishwasher with a discount on the appliance's remaining lifecycle. All home warranties are pretty much the same. You just have to be careful. Make sure it covers all of the things you need covered. For instance, my refrigerator ice maker broke and the in the door water feature doesn't work and while the service call was taken care of and the motor and the ice maker was taken care of the bucket that catches the ice and dispenses it and the water line were not covered. So I still have no water in the door and my ice bucket is broken so they don't cover everything. It's been my experience in the past that American Home Shield offers the best service.

While the warranty and operations still feel a little sketch to me, an appliance for impairment came out multiple times and eventually the dryer was fixed. All I had to pay was $75. So in that case it's definitely worth it because we basically got a brand new dryer.

The technician was great. He was neat, quick and efficient in diagnosing the problem and explained it would take 7 - 10 days to get the replacement part. I give Choice a one, however, because they say a failed digital read out is not normal wear and tear. Tell me how a digital readout can fail with out visible exterior damage. No cracks, scratches or dents. The read out just simply failed after 10 years of use. I have appealed the decision and am awaiting a reply. If they don't decide in my favor I will cancel my three year plus warranty.

I pay 55 dollars a month plus 85 dollars to come out to my home. I should excellent service, I was given missed information, I left the company a VM. Still no follow up. I asked for a early appointment. Was told by company my time slot was booked from 12-3. I scheduled my day around this appointment which was originally booked for 8 AM-12 noon. I didn’t. Proceed to call Choice Warranty to file a complaint and a manager told me that I was calling to vent.

In general your techs are totally incompetent. A few have been good but then they stop working for you. I assume this is because you don't pay them fairly. Thus you end up with the dredges. When you send a company tech, more recently, they are good. In the past some of the idiots that you've sent have made things worse and you then refuse to fix, not only the original problem, but the additional one they created. That sucks. I just spent weeks and an additional 100+ dollars arguing with you before you honored my cost of repair because you were taking the word of an imbecile, in business for a year, over a 50+ year established one. This waste of time also cost me a few hours, at 27.58 dollars per hour, of income. Also in the past you have, unjustifiably, refused coverage. At this time my wife and I are debating whether to renew or not.

I’m very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty. My refrigerator has been down for 8 days. The technician was great when he came on the 7th day. I’m extremely disappointed in how Choice has handled my replacement for the refrigerator. I pay $100 a month for my home warranty and I have coworkers paying $45 a month for their warranty. The difference is they get full replacement on their appliances no questions asked. The service they get is next day service. I will be getting $818 in a Lowe’s e-gift card in 2-4 weeks which is terrible response time especially for a refrigerator. There are no words Choice home warranty can say to justify this extremely substandard customer service. Up until now, I have always been happy with Choice Home Warranty, but this experience with my refrigerator has been terrible.

My first time calling in to file a claim. My garage door would not close. I was sent Door Posh. Bana called as soon as the claim got filed same day to set up an appointment. On the day of the appointment Mark the owner of Door Posh called with an ETA update. Showed up on time. Introduced himself and Moe. Mark explained in detail what was wrong and how to maintain not only the broken part that he replaced but after I asked him about another problem with the door he inspected the overall door and recommended the parts that needed attention. He explained how to maintain the door, tracks, etc..Both of them were very Nice, and professional, I would recommend them not only to myself but to friends, family and neighbors. I hired them to fix the other issues and I'm very happy and pleased with the price and the outcome. Great job Guys!!

The garbage disposal was leaking water out of the bottom. Submitted claim to CHW and they responded very quickly, approving the repair and scheduling a repair company. TB Plumbing called me to confirm the appointment date. TB Plumbing arrived during the appointment window time. The technician knew within one minute that the garbage disposal was leaking water. He returned to his truck, contacted CHW, and within 10 minutes had an approval to install a new garbage disposal. The technician came back in with a new garbage disposal, installed it and was done within 10 minutes.

I was not pleased with the results from the repair, still have the problem with my heating system, it was not correct, the technician said he was going to put in a order to upgrade this system, I never received a order to repair this system, this the third time I have called to have this problem solve, paying a 75.00 service fee and the problem have not been solved???

Terrible experience! Clothes washer died. It took them 3 days to find a tech to look at it. CHW said it was more cost effective to replace it. They made a fair offer but the only way they pay the claim is via Lowes e-gift card and that it could take up to 30 days to receive it. That was on 1/6/2025. It is now 1/12/2025. Still no e-gift card and laundry is piling up. I don't recommend CHW.

Year 24-25 -0 temp. No heat. Call choice, must wait. Finally allowed to call your local hvac guy, they arrive. Tell you issue. Call Choice numerous times. No one will answer you. Must pay tech or they charge you double as it is now overtime on weekend. Choice refuses to reimburse you.

Would like to say it took over a month to get my washing machine fixed. The first company sent could not fix it because they said they needed to have another person to help because it was a stacked washer and dryer. So I had to call back Choice warranty to get a company to fix my washing machine. The Choice Warranty got the ENA service LLC out in 2 days which was great. The technician that came was Evgenii ** was Awesome! He didn’t need another technician to help him to do the job! He figured it out how to do it himself! I would recommend him any time. I am 80 years old and live in South Florida, where it is hot. My home 4-ton AC stopped working and I called as neighbor who owns a licensed HVAC company to see if it could be quickly fixed. He checked the entire system and told me I have a gas leak in the coil. He said trying to replace the coil would be expensive and probably only a short-term fix. He recommended replacing the unit and suggested I go to my Home Warranty company...Choice. I called Choice on 1/5. A company was assigned and gave me a date of 1/7 to diagnose the problem. They then changed the date to 1/16. At this point, my house is now hot and I'm not feeling well. I tried calling them 3 times, left messages and never received a call back.
I called Choice and requested a different company and was assigned Sears Home Services. They were to come on Thursday, 1/8 and changed that to come out, Friday 1/9. After they left, I received a text from Sears that they would be back that night at 5:00 PM to repair the unit versus replacing it. Later that day, Sears notified me that they didn't have the needed parts and had to order them and the repair would be pushed off to Friday, 1/16. To make the experience even worse, Choice confirms the delay and notifies me that I will face an additional cost of $448.82 for "non-covered changes"!
Again, I am 80 and have already waited all week. Two companies I checked with said they could replace the unit on the same day! I called Choice to review the challenges and spoke with an agent, but all she could do, understandably, was tell me that the vendor texted me about parts. I asked being given an allowance so I could work with a local company that can fix or replace the unit in the same day, versus waiting another week. She told me she could not authorize that. I then asked for a manager to review all of this with and she connected me to a case manager. I went through all of the above, asked for an allowance, and he told me that the contract basically says that I have to wait.
Again, 'wait' means being in a house where the temperature is over 80 degrees for almost another week, when the problem can be fixed overnight! He had spoken with the technician and, at the end of the conversation, he said that I would be contacted by the tech in 24 hours with an updated timeline. That was Friday and I never received a phone call or text. I finally received a text Sunday night from Sears confirming Friday, 1/16, for the repair!
Despite the case manager's lack of concern about the extended physical conditions this delay is causing by pointing out the contractual agreement, I am again asking you to allow me to replace the unit NOW or extend an allowance towards a repair or replacement that I can get done by a local company. Please reverse this horrible delay...PLEASE!

Upon calling, I was dealing with a knowledgeable person who handled my problem very professionally. He set up an inspection, and I was contacted within thirty minutes. The inspection took place three days later and I was informed by Choice that I would be getting a new Dishwasher via a Lowe’s gift card. This was quick and easy. Excellent experience all around.

I tried to terminate my Choice home warranty. I called and was advised to leave a call back number. But the call back didn't happen within a reasonable time frame. So I called a number for new insurance contracts. Someone answered the phone immediately and offered discounts. When I explained that I wanted to cancel, he became upset and connected me with the cancellation department. The automatic answer was "Enter your call back number". I sent an email to info@choicehomewarranty.com. The automatic response was "You recently sent this e-mail box a message, however this email box is not monitored."

Choice was not helpful, and continually denied our claim. They refused to listen to common sense rational regarding the reason for our claim and the unit we made a claim on. Additionally Hannah **, our claims reviewer was zero help. She refused to listen or even budge on our claim and doubled down that a specialized part within our HVAC unit was not covered under their coverage implying that not only do you have to read the fine print of how something is covered you have to have detailed knowledge of how every system in your house works and what specialized parts are covered. All of which is understandably ridiculous for the average homeowner.

My experience in dealing with the agents is very disappointing. It takes a lot of effort to push back and have them LISTEN without repeating their trained responses. There is no flexibility and I get different responses when talking to a different agent. Yesterday was no exception. I was given instructions, which I followed and then agents gave me a hard time that I did the wrong thing. There is nowhere else for me to get attention so I am taking this opportunity to reach out to management about my unhappiness. It took tremendous effort to coordinate the plumbers and get approvals. I tried to work on this ahead of time, but that did not seem to hep matters.

CHW marketing team called and signed me up with their highly attractive monthly plan. The first time I called with an issue, they denied it saying it was a pre-existing and I had to hire an independent contractor to fix it and pay out of pocket. The second time, called with another part failure and again they denied it saying it's because of lack of maintenance on a 23 year old equipment regardless of the diagnostics from their technicians on both cases. Their priority is to deny your claims. You keep on paying for the policy to run their smart denial operation and for the technician's service calls. You lose more money and peace of mind by having them by your side as you would expect to get help in unexpected appliance failure and repair costs. Please don't buy into their marketing hype.

Worst experience I've had. Been with this company for 5 years now and have never had a major piece of equipment replaced. Having issues with dishwasher and Choice decided to total it. What they won't tell you is they give you less than half of what a replacement cost. It's a Scam and I won't be renewing after my contract is up and I wouldn't recommend.

Rep from Choice (Mario's Plumbing) was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous in diagnosing my problem. Took a couple of day but I did not have an emergency. What looked like a leak in a bathroom ceiling was actually not. Mario took down stained sheetrock and tested all surrounding areas for moisture. Followed up with checking my other bathroom to ensure there were no leaks.

Disgusting when your tech arrives in a van with no front fender, missing bumper and red mud as if he drives rural roads daily and never washes the van. Left oil spots on my new concrete. No uniform and red mud all over my wood floors from the mud on the tech's shoes.

Was skeptical before got home warranty as “fear of the unknown.” Contracted person couldn’t figure out our stove/oven so got a gift card comparable to the amount the about eight year old stove/oven was worth. In a sense already got a third of our investment back and still have three years to go on the warranty. Have a plumbing issue in process now that should be taken care of with just my service fee as well.

My garage door keypad opener & remote in my car were not working. The keypad was replaced but car remote is still not working. The serviceman was great but couldn’t figure out why. He thought there was some sort of interference causing the problem. May need a new opener. Choice had servicemen out the day after I reported the issue. Their response was great.

Tried to contact CHW every day for three weeks and never got connected. Repair guy finally came out, took my $85.00 and never came back. Continued to make contact for another month when finally told I was not covered even though I had complete home coverage. I requested a review on the denial by setting an appointment with a representative who never called at the time of our meeting. They texted me at my phone number to say that my phone number was not working. I want to cancel my policy but can’t connect with anyone or AI. I have since had to cancel my debit card to prevent more monthly charges. This company is a scam with incompetent people. The worst service I have ever experienced.

When I called for service, I had two sinks that were stopped up. Apparently, because there were two sinks, I got charged an extra $75. I also noticed a price increase on my Bill for membership. The technician you sent out was a good guy. He was professional and did his job really well. I'm just a little upset about having to pay extra for a service that was supposed to only cost me $100.

This is a review on Choice Home Warranty, not on the service provider who visited our home. Refrigerator started alarm on Dec 27. Contacted Choice that day for service. First appointment available was Jan 6. Refrigerator stopped working on Jan 1, but we were told they could not speed up the repair process. On Jan 9 Choice declared they cannot fix the refrigerator, and they will give $818 to replace the $10,000 refrigerator. First time to discuss this decision with a case manager is not until Jan 14. Horribly slow process without human interaction.

Was very pleased with the service provided. However, when receiving a text message to remind me of the appointment the next day, I noticed the time frame referenced was different from what was agreed upon the previous day. I immediately sent a text to confirm the time frame and was advised this was the updated time, which I was okay with. The next day I received a call from my son indicating the plumber was at the house which happened to be the original agreed upon time frame. Fortunately, my son was home and was able to let the plumber in. Had he not been home, this rating would not be what it is. Other than the scheduling mishap, we are very happy with the service provided!

Dichotomy of experience. The electrician is amazing and was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and informative. Choice Home did a horrible job finding someone to solve the problem. It took about 3 weeks to get electricity to my garage. Furthermore, the policy to only pay based on the first cost proposal is self serving, not customer oriented. Often the problem needs more evaluation after the initial assessment, but that comes out of the pocket.

I had a delightful experience talking with Maurice **. He was very helpful in giving me all information I needed and answering all my questions. In the process of me getting ready to make my initial payment to sign up, I was letting him know that I had just purchased my home last year. When he heard that he said "Well wait, let me see if I can get you more of a discount and let my manager know you are a new homeowner. We like to know that your home is covered". Maurice also inquired if myself or my husband was 50 or over. (I'm guessing that helped with the discount. Lol. But yes he came back with a lower price that I was even happier with.) My well pump went out on Sunday, December 21. I have a home warranty with Choice Home Warranty, so I immediately filed a claim via the app on Sunday. For four days, no technician was dispatched. I called and requested permission to use my own plumber due to the urgency of having no water. This request was denied, and I was told I had to use one of their technicians for diagnosis before any other option would be considered.
A technician was finally sent out on Friday, diagnosed the issue, and on Saturday, December 27, the claim was approved for $500. On Monday, the technician called me and stated he would not accept Choice Home Warranty, explaining he did not understand their process and did not like how they treat customers. This was not my decision—this was their vendor refusing to work with them.
I immediately called Choice Home Warranty again and requested permission to use my own technician. This time, they approved the request and instructed me to submit the documentation. Claim has yet to be approved. I made the decision not to wait for Choice to make a decision. I paid a contractor to repair the well pump on December 30th. My complaint is that there is no sense of urgency with claims. Not sure that they completely understand that having a functioning well pump is very important and vital to the home.
