    It is now 2 weeks and CHW refuses to assist. Put in for a service claim - Technician stated to me what was wrong - Informed CHW it was something different due to the Tech not wanting to perform the job due to where the location was. Not only that, he cracked my ceiling by stepping in the the rafter of the attic. So now I have a Fan that does not work and have to get someone in to fix the ceiling! CHW said they would send me pictures from the Tech in 48 hours. Never happened! Now I need to file another claim and waste another $65.00.

    Very difficult get qualified technicians, poor to sloppy workmen ship. Difficult to accomplish final satisfactory completion. Have had some experiences that were resolved ok. I stay with them and deal with the many times frustration for coverage of large items such as refrigerator etc. It is possible that they are aware of customer dissatisfaction are trying to improve.     I am irate! I've paid on this home warranty for 3 years and 2 months ago tried to cancel. They begged me not to and said "Wouldn't it be nice to get a check for $3000 next time something goes wrong?" which I knew would never happen but still - these are the tactics they use. So now my water heater goes out and they say there's a $600 out of pocket cost to me for non-covered charges. And it's a flat rate so they won't give me any breakdown of that these charges are. They assign a case manager who is supposed to help me come to a resolution - well this rude person named Shauntel ** told me she didn't know why I scheduled this call because this had already been explained to me last week and it wasn't going to change. When I told her she was supposed to help me solve the issue she started getting loud with me. So when I got loud back and said "Have a nice day ma'am" and hung up... Some case manager...

    So I called their contractor out of the blue as a stranger with no home warranty and ask how much to replace my water heater - $600 - water heater and installation included!!!! So the same amount as my out of pocket cost through the home warranty company. So that tells me I would have paid $600 to Choice Home Warranty and they would've paid it to the contractor (or possibly even a lower negotiated rate) and they would've broken even or even made money off the deal! I am irate!! I intend to contact every news outlet who will hear me - post anywhere online I can - I honestly don't know how these people sleep at night. It would be the lowest point in my life ever if I went to work everyday and ripped people off for a living!!

    I've had nothing but good things to say about Choice, up until 2 weeks ago. I filed a claim almost 3 weeks ago. My initial appointment, the tech was a no call no show. My appointment time window was from 3pm to 8pm. I made myself available and my day and time was wasted. The appointment was then rescheduled & the technician who came out, identified the problem & I paid my service charge of $75. I was then told by a CSR that I have to file another claim and have another technician to come out to tell me the same exact thing before my appliance is fix and also pay another $75. Right after I hit enter I received a call about a cheaper price for an Easter special from $53 a month down to $49 when I said, "I already entered it online." He said it was too late.     I would like to warn others so they don't get misled by the false and empty promises that Choice Home Warranty sales team offers. This company has two faces, the Sales one is bright, friendly and professional. Then, comes the Claims management team, where Choice faces off to show you that they'd do anything they can to refuse providing the service they had once promised and that is legitimate under the contract/policy. They will find manipulative ways to claim they are not responsible for the service and will try to support their false determination of noncoverage reliability by more ridiculous lies.

    You end up paying them the annual policy fees for the false assurance that your home is protected. Sincere advice here, STAY AWAY FROM CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!! You don't want to be let down at a time when you really need a decent and real Home warranty provider. One last comment here, I wish there was a zero stars rating option.     It has been over 24 hours since I have contacted Choice Home Warranty for an electrical repair. I need to have done. They stated they have no one in the area they have been able to contact to get it done. This is telling me that Choice Home Warranty must not be a company that's very good to work with and the contractors won't answer their calls. Choice Home Warranty apparently can't get it done and I'm doubtful that I will be renewing with them. Other than the initial email reply, they have made no effort whatsoever to contact me to keep me in the "loop". Very disappointing.

    Just had my 3rd disappointment with this company. This time it was a simple kitchen exhaust fan that they claim is covered. They covered the labor but not the replacement fan because they categorized it as an attic fan when it was a kitchen exhaust fan. They seem to go to every extreme to save money, offer unacceptably low reimbursements for replacements or like in this case refuse to pay anything for the actual fan with a burnt-out motor!     My washing machine stopped working mid cycle. I called Choice and was assigned a repair. The repair man was able to come day early but diagnosed the machine unable to be repaired. As promised in my contract. Choice advised the machine would be replaced in the form of a voucher to Lowe’s but it could take 30 days. I spoke to a supervisor who understood that we could not wait another 30 days so she is converting the refund to a regular check so we can go ahead and replace the machine now!!! She did this even without me telling her I’m 76 years old and just had double knee replacement so going to a laundromat is not possible for me. This is why I have Choice Home Warranty!     The technician arrived for his appointed time and was very helpful when he arrived. BUT it took YOU 18 days (!) to send him to our house. And then you denied our claim to replace a water filter. I specifically described in my original claim to you that the filter replacement for our Sub-Zero refrigerator is what we needed but you did not advise this was not covered. Instead I paid a technician $75 and he did not have the replacement part with him since you had not advised him what was needed. Bottom line: A waste of 18 days of my time and $75.

    After appointing a service provider you have a Bad practice of setting date and time for service appointments without the service provider actually having set a date and time to perform the service. Sat and wasted a whole day of my time waiting for a service technician to show up, at the end of the service time window I called the service provider and found that they had accepted the service order but never had scheduled a date or time. They were able to schedule me the next day. Today again I have a service scheduled for a different claim and it seems that the same issue is occurring again.     I purchased a 5 yr contract for approx. $4,000 and paid in full. I reported my leaking pool pump and failure on Mar 6, 2023. CHW replied online that they were searching for a qualified technician in my area and I would receive an email as to who and when that tech would be available. After two weeks with no response, and my pool totally green with algae, I initiated their reimbursement process. I called a local technician and he came and diagnosed the issues the next day. He had to respond to several questions and delays and more info needed before CHW would authorize him to proceed. This process took several more days. The day he was authorized to proceed, he ordered the new motor. He scheduled the installation with me the day he picked up the new motor. Installation went fine and I paid the Tech and uploaded the paid invoice to CHW website.

    I received a call today from CHW saying the upload went through and a check would be mailed to me in 30 Business Days - almost 6 weeks after I paid the technician. The time between me reporting the problem and the pool pump running again was over 3 weeks - unacceptable. Now I have to wait 6 more weeks to receive my reimbursement. This business model does not address customer schedules, budgets, or satisfaction. I asked for a direct deposit of the reimbursement amount and was told their process will not support that request. I asked the Tech why he and the other vendors did not respond to the open job request and he told me that CHW does not pay them for their work for often 60 Business Days, so the techs hesitate to accept CHW open work requests. I did FINALLY get my pool pump issues resolved but I have never been treated with such disregard by a corporation.

    The process and time it takes to get the issue resolved was outrageous. It took almost a week without Hot Water to get it fixed. The fact that you pay $60 a month on top of $85 for the service call and on top of that you are expected to cover the installation cost as well makes having the insurance a big waste of money.     While Saint Joseph has dozens of plumbers, after initiating my claim about a leaky faucet, according to policy, within 4 hours I was supposed to get a call from a plumber. I recall about 2 days later I got an email saying I could chose my plumber. The rules are as follows: I am to make an appointment for the plumber to do a house call to diagnose problem at a house call of $170. The plumber was supposed to go back to his office, put in an estimate for the work to be done. Choice Home Warranty then would decide if they approved the repair. I was then supposed to call the plumber and set up another home visit for another $170 house call charge to fix the faucet.

    The first time the plumber came to my house, he took the faucet handle off, said it was a gasket stem which he had on his truck so he simply installed, fixing the leak in about 20 minutes. CHW staff very rudely told me since I didn’t get an estimate first, they wouldn’t cover it. They preferred to pay TWO house calls at $170 each and waste everyone’s time for a less than 20-minute repair.

    I have been extremely upset over this. The rudeness of at least two customer service representatives shows me what kind of company I’m dealing with. I called to tell a representative how much the bill was going to be AND I said I would send a copy of the bill as soon as I got it. The representative very rudely told me they don’t believe a customer’s word and would not speak to me. She was being so rude I just thanked her for her time and hung up. If it’s 100 degrees out and my air conditioner quits working, will I have to wait days or weeks for a repairman to come out twice? This thought is terrifying. I have had more than one serviceman tell me they never work directly with home warranty companies because they don’t get paid. I am going to be optimistic that I will be reimbursed for the minor repair I had done.

    The initial contact was polite and fairly fast; a technician came out and explained the repairs needed on our built in microwave. Choice then came back and said they'd "replace" it instead and is giving $191 credit at Lowe's for this purpose. Cheapest basic built in microwave at Lowe's in our area is $249 plus $149 installation. Queried Choice about this and they said they would not do more, nor would they repair the existing microwave (apparently too expensive). The claim agent said "replacement" value they offer is not the same as what we can buy it for, nor do THEY go buy the replacement, nor do they pay for installation, and that I should have read the fine print.     My over the range microwave quit heating. CHW sent out Fix Smart to repair or replace the unit. Fix Smart said they needed to order a part. The next day Fix Smart told me I needed to order the part under warranty. The reason I purchased CHW was so that I did not have to worry about repairs or ordering parts. Samsung, LG, Whirlpool or other brands will not provide a consumer with a part under warranty. They need to verify the part is required.     Choice has always been there when I needed them. Customer service is first rate. I highly recommend them over their competitors. This is the first time using them for a septic issue but expect everything to go smoothly. Suspect that the septic may need to be drained.

    Basically told to “take it or leave it”. I was given a replacement offer that wouldn’t even pay for the most basic of washing machine. I was referred to a case manager who wasn’t willing to hear anything I said, told me I was yelling at her (I wasn’t), and told me that’s the end of our discussion… Take it or leave it.

    First, let me state that I have had good experience with this company in the repair of a dishwasher door and a previous refrigerator issue. Some of this appears to depend upon which contractor the warranty company is using. Some are better than others. I am extremely disappointed Regarding the issue of my air conditioner, which has been unusable for almost a week now. Both my own air conditioning repair man and the company sent by Choice came to the same conclusion. There was a leak in the copper coil in the air handler. When I signed up for this policy, I took a sigh of relief because I felt now I had protection. In fact, the policy I bought was for 3 1/2 years. Now I was told as I was denied any help with my air conditioner that their fine print states that they do not cover rusting or corrosion.

    If you research copper pipes, you will find that they are extremely aversive to corrosion And have a life expectancy of up to 40 years. This air conditioner is approximately 10 years old. I feel as though I am being given incorrect information to substantiate lack of responsibility by the company. I have filed a claim to dispute this.

    I was miss led! I was Interested in the one year plan. He put my credit card through for a 6 year plan. We were talking about the 6 year plan but I kept asking if there was a payment plan for it. Good thing that I picked up how much my card was charged! I would be very upset to see an over 3,000 charge. Once the issue was brought to his attention, he was very reluctant to change it. I knew I was OK because of the 30 day change your mind policy.

    Wait time to process the e-Lowe's card should not take 30 days from the time I first filed my claim and accepted the offer.
