    I have paid my monthly dues since 2016 in good faith that I would have my home covered. I requested service on March 1, 2023 on a washing machine. CHW advised me that they could not find anyone in my area for me to find a serviceman. I pay this warranty so that I do not have to deal with it. They finally find someone to service my washer and as of today 4/18/23 it is still not fixed. How many people can go without a washer for a month and 18 days? Then we have an issue of my air conditioning going out. It seem as my refrigerant has all leaked out and my unit is out of date enough that they can’t legally put more in so the unit has to be replaced. So they say it is not covered. How do you like that? It is not covered. I guess all they will replace is what they want to replace. So it looks like attorney time! ☹️

    I filed a claim based on my spring maintenance check of HVAC system with reputable company, their tech related that I needed to replace motor on both inside and outside units. I filed a claim, received an email notification less than 48 hours after filing over phone. When HVAC expert came out, he checked out my electric furnace motor (while I watched) and could not find anything wrong with it--not making any noise or showing signs of needing to be replace, same with outside unit.     We had our dishwasher go out and we called Choice. They tried to find a repair person but could not so they offered us a reimbursement option. Choice can never find a repair person to come and check out our breakdowns, so they leave it up to us to find someone and then we are left holding the bag until they decide what they are going to do. This last repairman charged us $125.00 and Choice is to only charge us $45.00, so we also lose on this. Now they said we need a new dishwasher and we are once again waiting to see how much Choice is going to allow on a new dishwasher. It is going to cost around $1,000.00 for a new one like the one we have now and I know Choice is not going to cover that much along with reimbursement of what the trip charge is. We have been very disappointed in Choice as I have had to argue to get almost everything I have gotten from them as they don't want to cover very much at all.

    This is not against the technician Haywood that showed up on Friday 4-14-2023, and it's only because of Haywood that I didn't cancel my warranty plan. The bad feeling started with waiting all day on Tuesday 4-11-2023 for my original appt to fix my electric stove. I followed all day showing where I was for the appt and it said the technician would arrive at 2:58pm. When it got to that I was the next appt and the time changed to 3:11pm that the tech should arrive... And then I got a phone call and I'm thinking that it's the tech, and it wasn't the technician, but someone calling me after waiting all day, and making sure I was home that the appt needed to be rescheduled to Friday. I took off from work to make sure I was home, and then waited all day since the appt times are from 8a-5p, and then following where I was on the list, and then at the last minute after waiting all day I'm told the tech isn't coming.

    How is this any way to do business, and then not be told why the appt is now rescheduled. To top it off, I then was given another appt with that crazy 8a-5p time frame...which is crazy. Like I said I was going to cancel my warranty after my stove was fixed, but the technician Haywood made me change my mind. He was at my property at 8am, and went out of his way to get the part since he didn't have it with him... So the rating isn't against him, but Choice Home Warranty because of how they handled my original appt.

And when we called Choice there was little to no attempt to make things right. I would add that when I called (Edward called) and gave a solution that I found fair (namely that since the ball had been dropped twice by your company, if we stayed as customers and this happened again, we get a FULL refund) I was told that things happen and you could not stand behind your product to that degree…but trust you. Only because we lose over 200 dollars for the one month of coverage we have had, due to your policy, did we just not just leave and take our money back.     This is my first year of warranty with CHW. I do not have any issue until March 2023 but in March my ice maker started issues. I call and get it fixed (though it took three visits of technicians and time consuming as the contractor did not diagnose the correct issue on first trip).     Where to start. The communication between Choice and tech to me was very poor. The tech was very hard to get ahold of. Never returned my calls. Always apologized for everything. Took them 3 times to fix my AC. Had a major gas leak. I turned it off till they showed. They added a condensation trap and not a new line. Which caused the Gas leak. Line was now too short and old. Took them 3 times to fix. Plus Choice, you did not cover anything. I was told my AC was under warranty. I saw $100 off. But with my warranty I still paid with tech visit $625. Out of pocket. So I kinda upset with warranty. And the customer service is out of country and not very sensitive to the customer situation. And very hard to understand.

    The technician was wonderful. He did his job. He show me a picture of my washing machine when he took it apart and there was a hole in the drum and he stated that the company would either replace the drum or I would get a new machine. After he submitted his conclusion I received the email stating that the issue with the machine was not covered. I don’t understand because where there was a hole in the drum there’s no way I could have damaged the machine, so in my opinion, it should’ve been covered and I appeal the decision, once again, the technician took his time to examine the washing machine. He was very thorough, trustworthy and efficient. He appeared to be knowledgeable and very kind. My issue was not with a technician. It was with the decision that Choice Warranty made not to fix nor replace the washing machine and this is my very first time using my service while the technician was here.

    I called five people. I referred them to Choice Warranty. I base their decision on how hard the technician was working and his explanation of the warranty company. What I’m asking is that you rethink the decision you made pertaining to my washing machine. I need it and it’s really an inconvenience not to be able to use it. The technician fixed the other two appliances, the dryer and the refrigerator even though we still have to get the seal for the refrigerator! Thank you for your time.     The first tech (chris) was excellent getting to the root of the problem that was a heating element issue. He quickly changed the heating element and all looked well. He did advise that the dryer vent needed to be blown out to safely use the dryer. After leaving the area, the dryer was started to see if any heat was working, after a few minutes the dryer indicated there was a E1 error, and the system shut down. I spoke with the tech by phone after he departed, and he advised that I do not use the dryer until the vent was blown out. I had the vent blown out and the dryer still indicated an E1 error.

    I contacted Choice and another tech was scheduled to see what the error was. Kyle came and after checking several things it was decided that the thermistor (?) was bad. Kyle did not have a replacement and he will have to order the part and have it sent to me. I received the part on 6/13 and I am waiting for another tech to arrive on Monday 6/17. Efforts on my behalf to get someone out here before Monday did not work and I am waiting for the thermistor to be replaced.

    All in all waiting for several weeks to have a dryer repaired was not good, I believe that the Chris the first tech should have checked further along to see if the thermostat or thermistor could have also been bad, it would have saved a lot of time. But can understand by replacing the heating element, he figured that may have been the issue. I do believe that a $45 dollar payment when the 2nd tech arrived should have been covered due to problem not solved. The $45 dollar payment for the new tech I believe will be covered due to a return for a new thermistor replacement. Overall, hopefully the problem will be solved, I will know on Monday 4/17 if E1 error indicator has been repaired.

    I’ll admit scheduling the appointment for diagnosis of the problem was very quick. Our hot water heater needs to be replaced and we were notified of that on Thursday. Issue took place Tuesday. It is now Friday and the water heater Choice HW ordered is on backorder. I had to call the service company to verify this and have them add a comment to the portal. CHOICE did not follow up! I the customer had to. I’ve had to call multiple times to see if they will outsource purchasing the water heater from another vendor. I’m now told I need to wait until Monday for an update.

    The point of having a home warranty is for this to be a seamless and hassle free experience. That has certainly not been the case. Hot water heater broke on Tuesday. It is now Friday with no ETA for a new one (ETA for the one on BO is May 11th). I am told to wait until Monday to see if they can find another one after which we have to schedule the appointment with the servicing company who is completely booked. I will never work with this company again.

    Choice Warranty is not worth the time to type this experience. I'm losing money just commenting. I was blatantly lied to about coverage when I purchased. I paid for the additional Spa coverage when the Scamsman told me that because my components were above ground it would be covered. I specifically asked more than once because the contract worded it differently. About 2 months ago I had a leak. I filed a claim and they sent someone out. The pipe was loose and he tightened it. I paid the fee and that was that.

    I noticed 2 months later that it was leaking again and overheating. Filed a claim and it was rejected. I was told above ground spas are not covered. I told them it was just serviced by one of their partners. They told me since it was just loose they overlooked it. WHAT??? Why I wasn't told then it wasn't covered? I repealed and was told that it's my fault for not reading the contract. I told her I did and questioned the scams man and he explained that the access to the panels are above ground so it is covered..

    Choice Warranty didn't care and told me it's my fault and they could take the spa off the contract so I could continue. Please tell me why I would do that? I told them I wanted to cancel immediately and I need to talk to a supervisor to file a complaint. She told me, "I cancelled your policy" and hung up on me. If you choose them make sure you validate and re-validate. They play word games and don't hold their people accountable. Choice Warranty is the absolute worst home warranty company I have dealt with in my life. No respect and are only out to get sales.

    We had couple of issues in our house. 1. Plumbing vent on the front yard was blocked with sticks and other debris because of which the water was flowing backwards on to the front yard. Choice did sent out plumbers to fix the issue and they used snake to clear the clog and thanks to choice they approved the snake work after the plumbers diagnosed. 2. The other issue we had was with the AC /Heater. We have two zones in our house. One is first floor and the other on the second floor. Second floor was not getting any heating or cooling so we had choice home to diagnose and fix the issue.

    They sent out a guy who came in and told us that there was a dampener issue but for time being he fixed the issue and told us that the dampener needs to be replaced. Choice home declined the claim and we don't know if the issue will still occur or not. This is the reason I have given them 4 stars. Dampener is not an expensive item and it takes not much time to replace. I don't know why choice home won't include this part to be replaced.

The only reason the first one was finally approved was because a VP with CHW got involved.     Called and open the claim on a Monday after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes. Couldn’t find a technician for me until Thursday. The technician couldn’t get here until Saturday. The policy that I purchased states that a technician would be dispatched within 24 hours. That is not accurate. I would not use Choice Home again.

    I called because my HVAC maintenance company came for my bi-annual maintenance check and told me I needed a new air conditioner so I called Choice to have someone else check my air conditioner. The technician who came checked the unit in the attic and outside, changed the thermostat, tested the air conditioner, explained everything, showed me the part he changed & told me it was fine for now and to run it when the weather got warmer this week.

    A little disappointment. The showers needed to be re-cocked and this wasn’t covered. I already have to pay $75, plus the surcharge to swipe my card and monthly payments. I had to pay an extra $100 to get this done. Doesn’t make sense that it’s not covered.

    It is now 2 weeks and CHW refuses to assist. Put in for a service claim - Technician stated to me what was wrong - Informed CHW it was something different due to the Tech not wanting to perform the job due to where the location was. Not only that, he cracked my ceiling by stepping in the the rafter of the attic. So now I have a Fan that does not work and have to get someone in to fix the ceiling! CHW said they would send me pictures from the Tech in 48 hours. Never happened! Now I need to file another claim and waste another $65.00.

    Very difficult get qualified technicians, poor to sloppy workmen ship. Difficult to accomplish final satisfactory completion. Have had some experiences that were resolved ok. I stay with them and deal with the many times frustration for coverage of large items such as refrigerator etc. It is possible that they are aware of customer dissatisfaction are trying to improve.
