    I feel like this with most warranty companies. Basically there never seems to be real urgency by the service companies. They don't seem interested in actually fixing anything and one of their first questions is always, "How are you paying your service fee". They just want to get in and out. You're lucky if they spend more than 10 minutes trying to diagnose the problem. Not to mention our appointment was rescheduled twice and it took over two weeks. When working with Choice warranty on the phone or their service, it's great but I've had two service calls and they both weren't great. Definitely didn't feel like things were actually addressed.

    I submitted a claim for AC after it had been running longer than normal, and the temp wasn't changing much. Only one degree cooler overnight. In Georgia. In summer. Two days went by without any appointment, the end of the 3rd day I got an appointment FOR 10 DAYS LATER! So I asked if I had to run it 24/7 for 10 more days, and they said if we tried to check with another vendor, we'd "have to start the process all over again." Unacceptable, and incredibly inefficient process. Why not reach out to local vendors, and WHEN you get availability dates, THEN secure the earliest appointment??? I have called again, and was told the technician would call me... it's been two more days, and no one has reached out. I will NOT be renewing.

    On 5/8/23, my garage door wouldn't open due to the a broken spring. I contacted my Home Warranty Company to file a claim and was provided the information of the repair Company that would be coming out to check the door. I called the Company and explained what had happened and the owner/tech asked me to send pictures so that when they did come they should have had the parts to do the repairs. On 5/11/23, the owner/ technician came as promised, but was unable to do the repairs that day as he had multiple jobs in the area and waiting to get the approval from the Warranty Company would have taken up valuable time. ( That was my only disappointment ), so I had to wait until 5/15/23 for the repair to be done. Enrique, the technician, called to give me a heads up as to when he would be arriving and once he did come, got the job done quickly. I have to add that Enrique was very pleasant, and quite professional. He gave me tips on how to keep my garage door working properly, and I appreciated his advice so for future service if I should need it, I will be contacting them again.

    I submitted a claim to Choice Home Warranty (CHW) because my Air Conditioning (AC) unit was not working. A technician was dispatched to check the AC unit and said that the AC compressor is broken and needed to be replaced. The technician filed a claim to CHW to replace the AC compressor. However, CHW denied that claim stating, in part, that "catastrophic failures that predate the standard life expectancy are caused by one or multiple issues that indicate an abnormal operation or malady in the system" and that "failures that occur due to abnormal operating conditions or catastrophic events are excluded from coverage." I submitted an appeal stating that the AC unit is located outside of my home and I have not touched or altered the AC unit in any way and that the AC unit did indeed fail due to normal wear and tear.

    The AC unit itself is over 9 years old and the life expectancy of most AC units are between 10-15 years old. So, the age of the AC unit is within the range of failure due to normal wear and tear and should be covered under warranty. Because my AC unit was not working and CHW refused to cover the replacement as per the contract, I had to find an external technician to replace my AC unit at an out of pocket cost of $2,000. I had another claim for a broken microwave that also should have been covered but was rejected by CHW. I will not renew with this home warranty company again. What's the point of paying for the warranty when they never approve any claims?!?

    After lots of research I decided to go with Choice Home Warranty. I was able to negotiate my monthly payment from $58/month down to $50/month and a deductible of $85 down to $65... They say if it's too good to be true it probably is... Well they're right. The first time we needed to make a claim because the handle on our primary freezer broke we were denied. The policy clearly states that All parts are covered under refrigerator/freezers when due to normal wear and tear; after paying our $65 deductible we were denied because the way that the handle broke it appeared to be because of customer fault not normal wear and tear. The handle just broke off in my hand and the appeals agent said she didn't blame me but the break in the piece itself appears to tell a different story. They denied the claim. I canceled immediately.

    Technician knowledge and knows what he is doing. Unit low on freon. With the Home Warranty I thought I only had to pay the Technician $65 Service fee. However, he would put freon in as needed unless I paid him $150 per pound of freon used. Two pounds equal $300. The charge of $365 is not a home owner warranty price. I shouldn't have to pay no more than the $65 Service charge. What is going on is a customer rip off. I should have $300 returned to me. I probably need to report this to the Better Business Bureau.

    I want my 85.00 back because the people you sent to put my garbage disposal in cause me to incur a 85.00 charge for my dishwasher. They turned the water off and didn't tell me or turn it back on.     I’m starting to see a pattern of denial with my claims. First was my A/C unit. Somehow the only fault that denied my coverage just so happened to be what was wrong with my AC. Yep word for word the contractor must of been psychic. So I lost the service fee and hired someone else to fix it. 2nd, my torsion spring for my garage door broke. The contractor said that he replaces them all the time and should be approved ASAP. Nope, somehow mine was deemed not regular wear and tear. No one can explain to me why that got denied. I purchased a 4 year paid up front contract and I never get any of my equipment fixed. To pour salt on my wound I even asked the rep who helped me with the claim if my torsion spring would be covered before I even filed. Tired of losing 65 bucks every time and he said yes. I paid a couple thousand to this company and they only take more and never fix my equipment. Wow, how do you sleep at night?

    Our refrigerator failed the early hours of May 18. We did some troubleshooting but could not get it to work. We contacted Choice Home Warranty (CHW) who immediately set up a claim. Much to our surprise, within minutes Technician/owner Dewey ** of 417 MARS LLC texted us with a time and date for a service call on May 19! He came three hours earlier than the scheduled time and in a matter of minutes diagnosed a failed control board. He immediately left the house saying that if he can find the part he will come back or if he has to order the part it could be several days.     I found water leaking into my garage. Choice covers drywall and plumbing per my policy so I opened a claim. Three days later a plumbing company showed up and found a lot of moisture in the drywall but would not find the leak because they were not authorized cut holes in the drywall. The plumber sent out a restoration guy the same day and he mapped out the extent of the water damage and in doing so found the leak behind the washing machine. The cold water valve was faulty and was leaking water behind the box.

    When I disconnected my washer to move it the leak got worse so I shut the water off to the house. I called the plumber to have him come back out to fix the broken part and he was supposed to get back with me the same day. By end of day he never reach out to me and so I had no choice but to cap the leak myself or not have water in my house. Not having water is not an option so I capped the line as well as cut the worst of the damaged drywall away from the area. Long story short, Choice made me open two claims for plumbing and drywall and charged me two deductible and has now refused both claims. They would rather leave me without water in my home or let water actively spray into my home for at least a day or two than pay out a claim. Their only justification is they won’t repair it because I as a homeowner touched it first.

    While I was very pleased with the Tech that was sent to home I am very displeased, angry and beyond upset with Choice Home Warranty itself. HISTORY: 05/11/2021. I called and reported that my dishwasher was tripping the breaker, smelled like it was burning, and melting my plastic dishes. TODAY: 05/19/2023. I once again called and reported that my dishwasher was tripping the breaker and that the garbage disposal tripped if you accidentally used them together.

    Truthfully the TECH that was sent to my home was very professional, smart, dressed nicely and had excellent rapport for customer service. The Tech told me he was going to recommend replacing the dishwasher as the parts to fix would cost more than the dishwasher was worth. Said I should hear within 24-48 hours what decision was made about the replacement. I actually received an approved amount for the dishwasher in the amount of $246.00. I'm not sure what cave Choice Home Warranty has been hiding/living in but you CANNOT PURCHASE A NEW DISHWASHER FROM LOWE'S FOR $246.00. Needless to say, I called and talked to a "senior" representative and was told that the amount I was awarded was standard for the dishwasher. Again, needless to say, I was getting very upset and TRIED to explain the scenario as I saw it.

    Being naive/without wisdom, lacking knowledge (not doing my homework) in the transition of/from being a renter to becoming a responsible homeowner; I thought 'Great! if something breaks I'll only have to pay $65.00 to get it repaired.' Let's just say THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN!!! The cost of Choice Home Warranty for 2 years was $580.00 and honestly was paid for in the closure of my home loan. Still believing that Choice Home Warranty would help protect me if an appliance broke I pre-paid for the subscription until 07/30/2025. That premium was $1350.00.

    OK so now I have invested $1930.00 in Choice Home Warranty not to mention paying 7 (seven) service calls all for the DISHWASHER. So now I've PAID CHOICE HOME WARRANTY $2385.00. And I AM ONLY ALLOWED $246.00 for a dishwasher that had problems for 2 YEARS!!! I'm beyond upset, feel like I was taken advantage of and very gullible being a new homeowner. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! HOME WARRANTIES ARE A SCAM.

    Choice turned down even a share of responsibility and expense for refitting my a/c unit. Claiming rust is what caused the failure. The service tech Choice sent told me every evaporator coil over a year old shows rust, but that is surface rust (like the superficial rust on your car frame), and did NOT contribute to the evaporator leak. Observing rust is a convenient ‘cop-out’ so Choice can deny any a/c claims. I’ve been with Choice for about 8 years. Why don’t we prorate my current 5 yr contract and just part ways? I will certainly not be a good referral going forward.

    The repairman recommended getting a replacement for my refrigerator. I had a stainless steel refrigerator. Choice offered less than $1000 for replacement and to send the money on a Lowes gift card to be mailed in 30 days. A gift card limited my options to purchase another one and I had to fully pay out of pocket to replace the refrigerator up front.     After doing a lot of research I called and spoke to someone to ask them about what was actually covered by the warranty. It turns out that I was on one of their websites that is designed mostly to "sell" - not give you all of the info you need to know to make a decision. If you Google "Choice Home Warranty," the very first entry takes you to choicehomewarranty.com, where there is actor Richard Karn and a heavy sales pitch - but not detailed info about what you might be signing up for. To the RIGHT of that first entry is a large company block with a tel # and THE EXACT SAME URL/link printed, choicehomewarranty.com...but this link takes you to a different site that is very indepth and just what I needed.

    The rep was patient with me for a while, but basically kept explaining to me that I was wrong, rather than listening to the confusion that their two different sites created. He said everyone knows to go to the company side on the right. I disagree. We read left to right, top to bottom, and the first entry in Google will be what people use 90% of the time. (BTW, he hung up on me when his patience ran out...) When I called the next day and got someone else, I had a totally different experience and signed up. Whew! Hopefully someone will read this and make it more customer-friendly someday so others get the whole story with just one click. (A simple fix? Just add a button to the "sales" site that says "Need more info? Click here." Also, it keeps asking you for your name, zip, email and tel - and then I got several calls that day from CHW reps....always annoying, especially after you've already signed up.)

    This is the first time since I been with Choice Warranty that they actually came through. I put two tickets in for my garage door and refrigerator. Both technicians came the same day and totally fixed the problem, even though one refrigerator technician has to come back, but it is well worth it. I was in total shock and grateful. It always took over a month for someone to even answer the ticket. Not this time, good job on this one Choice warranty.

    I was asked for specific time and dates of when my equipment was working properly. If you want to know if my equipment was working properly without issue the year before is fine but asking for a specific time frame was not necessary. I don't keep records of when and if my equipment was working properly. All I know is it was working last year without a problem. My suggestion is if you want to know if something working last year properly then that is all you need to know. You don't need a specific date and time, to me that was irrelevant to what is going on at the present time.

    Choice was prompt in assigning a professional to review our hvac issue. He diagnosed that a new thermostat was needed. Choice decided that they would not pay for it because it “looked” like its failure was due to pest infestation. The unit has worked with that thermostat for 20 years. Pests were NOT the problem. No discussion just refusal to pay. BEWARE. THEY FREQUENTLY FIND WAYS NOT TO PAY. This is not the first time they have refused payment.

    This has been a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE for the service call and replacement offer for our broken dishwasher. We had to go through 3 contractors before we got someone out to look at the dishwasher, then you offered us a RIDICULOUS offer to replace the dishwasher, then we had to argue with you which took over 2 months to complete. We are still waiting for our $65.00 refund of the service call. Weeks later. We are totally disappointed with your responses and your service, along with not being able to communicate via your website. You need to fix these problems.
