    I received a call from CHW requesting that I consider signing up. I informed the rep that I had already signed up the night before, he never verified before calling me. I asked if CHW had a senior and veteran discount and he stated yes and would transfer me to the proper dept. Surprise, I got sent to a phone bank! I left another provider because of the same issues, phone banking and no real customer support.

    I really hope CHW is not a get your money and leave the customer hanging to do their own research and contacting of the supplied vendor. Why would I pay someone $100 to give me a name and phone number and never have CHW follow up with the contractor to ensure the customer being attended to? Time will tell if I have find another provider.

    I have had Choice home warranty for over 3 years and I have only made 3 Claims. All three of my Claims have been denied. I filed a claim yesterday for a broken water tank on my toilet. Choice claimed that this was not normal wear and tear and denied my claim. This is ridiculous as this is beyond my I control. I will be cancelling my service with Choice Home warranty and switching back to American Home Shield. I had to pay to have the toilet replaced $900. The service that they provided was outstanding and they replaced my toilet the same day. Their customer service was above and beyond!

    In the past 2 years I reported 3 separate electrical related issues where I couldn't get power from an outlet. We were told to rewire, get a new box, service wasn't covered, etc. So.... When my far bathroom outlets went out, I called you again.. Hesitant my issue would even be fixed but I called anyway. . Lucky for me, you sent Scottt.. It turns out I had gfci issues.     Several days after I reported an electrical issue, a electrician was sent out after a week of reporting a claim! Upon his inspection he said there was no power going to kitchen and dining room lights plus one receptacle close to kitchen! Said may be a breaking wires, not sure needs further time and inspection as he was limited in his time on this visit! However when he submitted it to CHW they denied us saying do not cover accidental only normal wear and tear!! At this juncture we are not sure what the problem is, but was denied anyway before final inspection!

    Back in March I claimed my bathroom fan was not working so Choice sent out T&N to diagnose the problem. They said it was the wiring and left. My fan still did not work so I called Santiago and in just an hour or so fixed it - never going into the walls, but fixing the fan mechanisms themselves. I reported that to Choice - but they never acknowledged that the first diagnosis was wrong and never reimbursed The $632.28 I paid.

    The service men and I had a language barrier, but we did okay. The closet for the air handler which held the old air handler was left with holes in the wall. They literally had to rip it out. Where the anchors held the screws, the holes were left open in the wall. This was my broom closet, and this is no longer a broom closet. The outside air conditioner is great. No complaints. Sears was the first company that was supposed to come out on the 13th between 8 and 5.     I have been a customer more than 3 years. I never have bad experience like I have today. The technician come to my place, he said in order to check the pressure the HVAC he have to clean the coil and that's not cover by Choice, then I said ok after I pay $90 to clean the coil, the technician asking me to collect $65 my deduction and I did pay a technician. He start checking the pressure. He find that the Freon is low. He have to add at least 3 lb of freon. Then he said to me that have to be approved choice. I said, "For what?" He keep saying that have to be approved by the choice. I'm asking why I pay my deduction $65 just coming to check the pressure? Anybody can do that. He, "You said talk to choice."

    He left with $65 plus $90 for a cleaning service. Then I started calling choice to get someone to help with this kind of weather currently 97 degree. I start calling from 2:00 p.m. Eastern time up to 4:30 p.m. from one place to another place to one place to another place. They keep holding me and switch me from one Department to another. End of they hang up on me twice. My $65 went to the toilet. I need also as soon as possible regarding about this issue. And this is my claim **.

    They aggressively deny claims for flimsy and implausible reasons, and by their own agent's admission they look for any excuse to deny a claim, even if it's completely irrelevant. They denied a claim for a leaking pipe because, contrary to the info submitted by the plumber, they determined that the pipe was frozen. Never mind that the pipe was a drain pipe in an interior wall, and that the pictures of a "frozen" pipe were taken in July! They even claimed they could declare it frozen and exclude it as non-coverable despite the there never being ice.

    Finally, they claimed that the presence of soap scuzz on the outside of the pipe, deposited by the leak, is grounds for denial because scuzz build up on the exterior isn't normal wear and tear. Of course, it's not wear and tear at all, because it's not the cause of the leak, it's a consequence of the leak. Do not do business with these people. They do not act in good faith, they will try to violate the contract, and they are a scam!

    My pool filter is cracked due to normal wear and tear. The claim was denied because they state it is physical damage and the contract does not cover this. The physical damage is caused by the operation of the filter, not by something external causing the crack. This is the second negative experience I have had with Choice. Last year I had an AC unit replaced. While the company covered part of the cost, the technician they sent do not do a good job and apparently my system is not up to code. I would not recommend the company at this time.

    I had done some checking on CHW. Then when I called the agent already had my info. He told me the cost but I had to bring up the discount, and the free month. Then he said if I sign up then I would get the 85.00 service charge. But I had got that deal when I loaded my info into the web page and if you open the refrigerator door service charge would be 85.00. So truly he wasn't really giving g me a deal. Which at that point I had agreed to go with CHW. The one thing I didn't care for is the agent was quick to get off the phone. To me it was like his shift was over or it was break time.     The service provided is usually very good, but I have one complaint.. Our washing machine stopped working and parts could not be found to repair it. We need a washing machine, use it almost every day so we bought one from Lowe's. I was told they were going to offer us money to replace it. Waited a week or more to get a letter saying you would send us around $500 great news but we had already bought one from Lowe's! You did not send money. You sent an e-gift which is not very handy for us. We will have to use it at Lowe's? We are retired and very few times need an item from Lowe's.     I bought a policy in April and the gentleman took 3 hours of my time explaining everything. When he was done I said, "I will buy on the condition you send me your warranty contract by mail to review." He said he would want the same thing and that he would get it out right after I made the purchase. Mind you this was almost 2,000 so a LARGE purchase. I then called May 9th to say I haven't received what I requested...a hard copy policy. This is a warranty company and I have major difficulty reading online. I was told it had been sent in the mail and the gal said she would do it again.

    I gave it time and on May 30th I called to say I wanted it canceled because they did not send what I requested. I got a confirmation email in May and I still haven't received the refund... I cannot recommend this company as they don't DO what they say they will do. I am trying to make contact with someone in charge who can rectify and it seems impossible. Does not appear any HUMANS answer their phones. Don't be scammed like I have!

    Working with them is very painful and they will take around 1 to 2 months to fix the issues. For same kind of claims they will tell they open 1 claim but they open different for each similar claim and need service fee. Even after paying that it is not guarantee that it will be fixed. People who works there is also not friendly and waste company. Even if it urgent issue they take at least 2 weeks for fixing it. Until last minute you are not sure if this gets fixed or approved. Even lot of providers who comes with them sometimes they don't even respond because of how they deal with vendors. Sometimes vendor comes and looks at the problem and then no response after that. They will be keep re-assigning that claim to the same vendor even if they don't respond. I also heard so many vendors are not showing interest to work with this company. Please stay away from this company. I have also heard they take money even after you cancel the policy so please be careful.

    My Microwave Oven's door handle came off when I went to open the door. Choice Home Warranty refused the claim as they said it was physical damage. I asked for an explanation and the claims adjuster's explanation was ridiculous. Physical damage to me is hitting, prying, and dropping the microwave oven and not opening the door, and the handle coming off. Then I asked for a repair to fix the microwave as it was working for two weeks after the handle came off. They declined to send a tech to fix it. They said the microwave wouldn't work without the handle being fixed. I explained that it was working after the handle came off for 2 weeks. They still said no.     Choice customer service is very unfriendly and not empathetic when you need their service. The process is very long to get anything fixed as are the call backs to find out their long process. I even talked to a supervisor for clarity on the process and she was rude as she repeated the same thing 3 times about waiting for the diagnosis and finally on the 4th repeat she added that each technician sends their finding differently. Some have technology to send while they are at the property, others at the end of the day, and some take up to a week. My water heater broke where my 80 year old mother lives. The technician told her that it was not all going to be covered and that we would have to pay more than the service fee yet we are still waiting for the diagnosis, hopefully the end of the day. I do not recommended this company.

    I paid $2,700.00 for two policies. I put in a claim for an A/C unit that was covered under my policy. The A/C is old. Pioneer Air that CHW sent out said the compressor, condenser and coils were shot and the unit was over-amping. Clearly serious work needs to be done as it is not cooling at all. This is the function of an A/C. The claim was denied. I have tried to appeal and I have been continually put on hold when they said they were transferring me to claims, retention and sales (like ten times) where a recording has asked for my phone number for a call back. Then I am disconnected. In a week and a half, no one has reached out me. They are terrible.

    Choice Home Warranty has been AWFUL. What a waste of money, do not throw your money away. We moved to Texas and bought a home 6 months ago. 3/4 claims we have made have been denied. They find every single possible loophole they can to get out of covering things. First claim was a pool heater. After 6 technicians, 3 service call fees, hours of being on the phone talking circles with their representatives to try to get answers it was determined that we needed a new heater and they wouldn’t cover it. Then I called to confirm hosebibs were covered on my policy which the technician assured me they were under plumbing. As soon as replacement was recommended. Denied.

    Then the AC stopped working and the technician said we needed a new blower, circuit board & some electrical and of course, they came back DENIED. I have worked in Real Estate for 15 years, I will NEVER recommend this company to my clients. They are crooks. You might as well save your own money to pay for the repairs instead of putting it into a policy that covers nothing. Their customer service has been horrible! AVOID AVOID AVOID!     Plumber came out and turned in estimate for work on July 3, didn't get response till July 6, 2023. I had to call Choice myself to get answer. Plumber came out July 18, 2023, brought replacement faucet but was not comparable to the one we had. The one Choice offered was a $60.00 faucet. I went to buy a replacement for $100.00. Only $30 more than the one Choice wanted me to use. No way I'm using cheapy faucet in our nice kitchen. Plumbers were very professional. The second plumber sent estimate to finish work. Never got answer from Choice. I called Choice three times this week and left my number and no response to date 7-14-23. Shame, Shame re-off, you are not honoring your policy.

    Why have Choice Home Warranty if they find a loophole to deny claims. They lead you to believe things are covered that’s not. Get a savings account instead. The only thing they cover are appliances basically, I’m canceling Asap. The only positive thing about my experience was the technicians they sent out, very knowledgeable and professional. But their policy limits what they can do, have to submit online and wait for response from Choice if they decide to respond.

    I live in an area where Choice is unable to list vendors to help with my issue. In order for me to qualify for reimbursement for services I had to find a company that would agree to complete the online form. It was this process that was not explained by your representative clearly. I was given different instructions each time I reached out to claims. After more than five calls to Choice I was able to piece each call together to put my claim in. I have been a customer for several years and currently I am paying more than $700.00 yearly and this is my second time putting in a claim over several years.

    I would like to make a suggestion and that is, extensive staff training in claims is needed before connecting and working with your customers. My frustration level was off the chart just trying to get a leak fixed in the bathroom. Throughout this process I however remained respectful and finally got my claim through but feeling not sure if it is worth me to continue with Choice or to sign with a different Home Warranty Insurance.

    Because we live away from any large city it took a while before an A/C company was located to come check out A/C that was not cooling. Once he arrived he determined that the system was low on refrigerant and called Choice Home Warranty for authorization to add refrigerant. He added the refrigerant and it helped some but unit continued to run constantly.

    Now today the A/C breaker tripped and smoke was coming from the fan portion of the A/C. I have called again to get a claim going. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get someone out again. When the A/C guy was here the first time he said the system is old and wore out, in need of replacement. We will see how it turns out now that it is totally down and seemed to have come close to catching on fire.

    I pay every month and twice now I have had to put in a claim. It has taken days before they send someone to my home. In the meantime I am inconvenienced. The plumber that was here on Wednesday took a picture then left, said he had to get it approved.     I've been with Choice Home Warranty since 2021. All was good until my air conditioner went out. Instead of repairing the leaking coil they just kept on sending out service techs to put more freon in (each service call cost me $65) It recently got to the point where the recharge would only last a few days. My wife and I are in our 70's and we have had no AC for almost a month now. Choice has been non responsive. Since I live in Arizona I contacted the Attorney Generals office who confirmed that Choice is being sued by them. I also found out that the EPA requires that AC units must be repaired if the recharge exceeds 10% of the freon capacity. My unit holds 22 pounds of freon. Since May of 2022 they have allowed over 30 pounds of freon to be added to my leaking system. Choice is not the right choice.

    On July1, 2023, my water main broke inside my house. I had no access to this so I called CHW and filed a claim. At that time we were assured ( per our contract) that someone would be assigned within 24-48 hours. To date, no contact by the company unless I called them. We were eventually told on day 3 of the leak to hire someone for reimbursement. Never advised us they had a pre- approval process. Nothing. So we got the leak fixed and waiting on them caused over 5,000 in damages. Not counting the plumber who stopped the leak and they refused to pay.

    Here’s the real kick in the pants- the damage may have been caused by their assigned plumber who previously was at our house for a repair. (The main was stripped and ruptured). Tried to cancel they would not refund my money but made cancellation effective immediately and I just paid the bill. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! Rates are better but they send out unregistered technical people - business registered yes, perhaps experienced but in looking up the ones that came to my house not one was licensed in my state under their professional capacity. Not one.
