Champion has been great. I’ve always had good luck with my providers but Champion seems to be a little bit less money which is what I like. The reps have always been nice and had called them for basic questions. I would definitely recommend Champion to others.

I started with Champion not too long ago. The reps were professional and courteous, and the installation went smoothly. I wasn't there but I didn’t have to worry about a thing. So far, their service has been very good and it's been reasonable. I’m hoping to stay with them for a long time because I’m not big of changing unless the rates go very high again. Others should check it Champion.

Champion Energy is good. It has helped a lot of people, like me. The old company charged a lot of money, but now as I do it from this new company, they do it a lot better. Champion Energy's people do a good job. Four weeks ago, a different company was knocking on the door, but I don't want to change companies. I'm happy and doing fine.

I had Reliant before but I'm very happy with Champion now. I have over 20 accounts with them and every time I call, I talk to a person in the United States and they’re very helpful. They're also courteous. I call them, they take the information, they set up the account and the account is turned on. It takes less than five minutes. Most everything we have now is on a smart meter, so they just go through the AEP and then it’s turned on. Overall, their performance and reliability have been very good and I’m very pleased with their service.

I like Champion Energy Services. I also like the email that they send every week about the consumption and the weekly trend. The service installation has been very good and their free weekend program serves well. Last month when I was out of town, I missed several emails including the billing notice. After I got back, I received a call from their service agent and she was very nice and very patient. She reminded me that I should pay my bills which were overdue and she told me how to do that. So far, their service has been perfect and very reliable. Every time I need to be recharged, I know where to find the consultant. They have been very nice and it has been a seamless experience for me. I'm very satisfied.

The only interaction I had with Champion was when I signed up with them and it was great. I switched to them due to their cost and I've had no problem with their reliability and overall performance. I would recommend others to sign up as well.

Champion Energy Services was referred to me so I called to sign up. The interaction I had with their agent wasn't exceptional but it was okay. I told them that my address was in Republic Circle, which is a new housing development, but they said that they didn't have it in their system and what they have is Republic Loop. I looked online and it says Republic Loop so I don't know if I'm paying for the right house. Still, the overall service has been fine.
Every home has a unique electric service identifier(ESIID). It looks like ESIID for your property address at Republic Circle shows up as Republic Loop in the database. Since these ID's are unique to the property, you are all set in having your electricity set up at the right home.

We have initially used Champion Energy Services and we just continued on it. Their customer service reps' ability to help us was good and we felt very comfortable after explaining what we wanted. The installation was already done by the time we reached our apartment so it was good too. I would tell a friend to prefer them than other services.

I went with Champion and as far as usage goes, they’re comfortable to use. So far, it’s been great. My interactions with their team have been pretty much internet based. It’s fairly easy. I had some questions about logging on and they were pretty good about it. We’ve had Champion for two months now and have had no issues.

I had great interactions with Champion Energy Services' customer service representative when I was first getting it set up and they answered all my questions. I wasn't there during the installation but when we moved into our apartment, everything was working perfectly. We haven't had any problem with it like the power going out even when Harvey hit so I have been very pleased. It’s a very reliable company so I don’t see any reason why I wouldn’t recommend them.

My contract with my previous provider was coming to an end so my friend and I checked out the internet and Champion Energy Services' offer seemed like a better deal so we both went with it. My friend went in first and told me the name of the terrific rep. I called the rep and told her everything that I knew and she was really sweet. It was right at the time when the hurricane hit down here and her horses got hurt but she was still working. I never met a rep that was that nice. Usually they're busy but she was a very personable person and she's the very representative of the company. I flipped on with Champion Energy Services in November and they're better than my previous provider as they don't charge that much.

Champion Energy is a whole lot better than my previous provider, and I've only had them for a limited time. I bought a new home and it has been seamless. I called and spoke to their rep and she was well-versed on the products and the different options I had. It was a really quick and simple call and I was done. I love the weekly email updates with my usage and I feel that the system is a lot more user-friendly. Also, I like that they give referral bonus because I started referring them people and I didn't realize we would both get a credit.

I had Champion and then I switched, and then I went back since I never had any problems with them. Setting their service back up was really easy, and I like them compared to the other provider I used. I’ve been with them for four months now and so far, service has been great.

I had an awful experience with my past electricity provider but Champion Energy is the best. I got everything set up and I like the weekly update so much because there is nothing for me to feel cheated. They don't give bogus bill every month and they are reliable. For now, I'm satisfied with them.

Champion Energy's price per unit really caught my eye, it was the best deal. In addition, they have their headquarters in Houston and the flood happened on the same day I signed up. They were underwater but they still answered my call and were very sweet and calm amidst the chaos. They were able to answer my questions, so I was impressed. I signed up before moving into an apartment complex and when I got there my power was on. I got them about four months ago and all my bills have been under $40 every single time. I support them and I’m satisfied.

I went to Energy Ogre and they chose Champion for me. Compared to my previous provider, electricity is the same but the price is much better. I spoke to customer service when I set up my autopay and they were wonderful. The installation was transparent to me so I didn’t have anything to do. I've been with them for three months now and overall, Champion is cheap, but excellent. I would tell my family and friends to go with them.

Years as a customer with perfect payment history and outstanding credit score and many referrals sent...won't allow service for my company without a HUGE deposit! Seriously?!?! I pay every month on time and have a super high credit score and own my own company! No more referrals from me, and I will take my business to a company who appreciates and rewards people who pay on time and have good credit! (And let's add the threats and tone of voice from the man who called me to tell me I was being declined).

TERRIBLE COMPANY... I had my account set up on auto pay. Champion Energy would disconnect me randomly and I would have to call in and find out what happened thinking maybe there was something wrong with my auto pay account. Yea after the 5th time it was clear. I then noticed my monthly bills were going up significantly so I looked at the details of the billing.
THEY CHARGED ME DISCONNECT FEES. Every time I would call in they were like "Oh Im sorry. Yes you didnt deserve any disconnect fees" and credit me back. It started turning into a monthly thing. They said it was because they were trying out a new system. Never offered anything for the hours I spent talking to them... They would always say they will have a supervisor contact me. That never happened.

This company is the worst energy company I have ever had. I currently have their service and chose them because of their cheap prices. You get what you paid for the customer service is deplorable and the agents are rude and disrespectful. This company could care less about their customers or their customer's needs. The only thing this company is good for is their low prices. Don't be fooled by these low prices because they will charge you extra for anything under the book. The company is horrible and I would pay a few cents extra to have another energy company.

The service connection was prompt and the communications were courteous. I like the weekly energy consumption reports with the weather conditions shown underneath, so you could relate between personal consumption and weather demands. Champion had different plans, one of which is the month to month plan which I used since I will be renting the place for a year till I retire. I am recommending the service to my tenants and I would definitely use them again. All in all excellent service.

RUN AWAY! This company is a SCAM! I was out of town with ALL of my utilities turned off yet my billing cycle for the 2 weeks that I was gone the usage was equivalent as to when I was home. There was NOBODY at my place to run electricity to begin with. I wish someone had written a review like this one before I signed a contract with them and I had came across it. If you search the reviews for this company the majority of them are almost unreal saying they are happy, satisfied etc. Their customer service gives you the complete runaround as to why the bill is so HIGH! 300-500/Month with MINIMAL to no usage. My wife even got accustomed to cooking in the dark to save electricity. That's how sad it is. Terrible company. Please tell all your friends, family, acquaintances, and etc to save their money by refraining to partner with this company as their electricity provider.

A employee from Champion Energy came to our home offering their services. My husband thought would be great company and save money considering they compared our bills and also we wouldn't have to pay. Pass through charge was all included in our rate and we would yet still save money. After receiving our first bill we were floored with a 300$ bill. I called and had to ask what plan we were on because this was crazy and I also hadn't been left with a welcome package. Nothing was sent to me. Nothing. Well it's a go green for 3 years. Definitely wouldn't have picked that ourselves told them what happened and said "there must be a mistake can we switch to a different plan and we can keep contract for 3 years."
They did absolutely nothing to try and help us and we still have barely ever received a bill for under 200$. I don't own a huge home or keep lights on and AC down low. I've never had a electricity bill so high. I feel this company completely lied to us when describing their product and left out a lot of detailed information and absolutely no help from customer service. Oh and let's not forget when the weather was bad my husband couldn't work so yes we were a little late one month they disconnected our services without even sending a notice to us. No phone call email nothing. I absolutely hate this electricity company and wish there was a affordable way out.

This is not the same company I used to know and love. Every time I call now, agents are disinterested and not friendly. I got a bills for 4 days of service when I had not yet moved. That is not my responsibility. The Champion Energy I know and love would have waived that payment or set about fixing the inaccuracy, not told me I must have made a mistake. RIDICULOUS.

I have had superb service for the past two years. I just renewed after spending over an hour comparing, or trying to compare, the multitude of programs offered. Some were so complicated that comparison was impossible. I found the Champ Saver-24 fixed kWh energy rate the lowest that does not charge a base charge.

First of all, let me say that the person who helped me set up auto-payment on my (recently renewed) account (on the 4th of July) was simply delightful and professional. She was very helpful and cheery even while working on a holiday! Another reason for my response is to convey to you my one-item "wish-list" for Champion - and that is to provide your customers with an online option for setting up auto-payment. Every time I need to update my auto-payment method (when my card expires or when a new card is issued due to fraudulent activity), I have to do it by phone. (The problem is, over the 2-3 year lifespan of a credit card, I don't remember that your website doesn't have that option. And I waste time looking for the option on the website.)
BTW, you'll be happy to note that I've been a customer of Champion through several credit card terms! All the other vendors of services that I use have an online option. I must have spent about 30 minutes scouring your website for the "manage your payment options" button, but never found it, and ended up making a phone call. Perhaps an alternative solution (to making the option available online) would be to simply provide a prominently displayed message on your website informing your customers that the auto-payment method is available, but that they'll need to make a phone call to get auto-payment set up. That would have been a big time saver for me and would have been much appreciated. In closing, I'd like to say that I appreciate Champion's gimmick-free offers for electricity. This instills a sense of confidence for me in my selection of my REP. Thanks for lending an ear!

I have charted our electric usage for sixteen years, paying particular attention to problems. Champion Energy is the best provider we have had. Fair treatment and good rates are not enough because everyone says they provide them. Champion's weekly usage email reports set them apart. They are the first provider that we signed up with a second time.

You should take a look at Champion for an electricity provider. I was with another company for over 20 years. My sister told me about Champion and over the past two years I had one bill over $100.00. I had been paying the other company over $300 during the summer months. Check it out.

Very different process from where I relocated, so I needed assistance in making my decision. Rachael was the rep who assisted me. I called because rates for renewal were higher than shown when I searched available power rates. Rates for renewal are higher than rates for new customers. On phone call, learned a senior discount was available. Discount not shown on web page.

I am beginning my 3rd year with Champion Energy and have been very pleased with the rate I get from them. I'm happy with the ease with which I can pay my bill online and I like the easy renewal process. The thing I like most however is that Champion does not issue a penalty for using too little electricity like so many companies. That means a lot to me! I've always gotten a good rate for my service through Champion. I haven't had to contact them very many times but have found them very pleasant when I did except for one time. I called shortly after signing with them to ask why I was paying city of Houston taxes when I lived in the unincorporated part of Harris County. I was told initially that, that was just the way it was and nothing could be done about it. Two hours later some lady called me back and said those taxes would be removed and they were.

No hesitation whatsoever in recommending this electric service to others as we've done in the past couple of years. Champion Energy is the best!!! I have the free weekend services and I have been saving lot of $$$. I love how they send you weekly usage in an email. It keeps us informed on when and how much energy was used. I was new in Texas and did not have an idea at first about all the electricity companies so I was doing lot of research and after reading all the great reviews of Champion Energy it did not take too long for me to decide to call them. Customer service is awesome. It was very easy to set up the contract with them. I saved $25 on my first month's bill after providing them the reference, which I thought was sweet.

I switched to Champion two years ago when my provider increased the rate significantly at renewal time. I love having the fixed rate and not having to pay a higher rate because I use little electricity. I just renewed for another two years at an increased rate of 0.01 cents per kWh. I have never had one problem with the service or the billing. I don't think I have ever bragged on a electricity provider before.

Renewing after 2 years of great service. I have no complaints. Champion Energy does a first-rate job at a very competitive price. I had a salesman come by trying to get me to change electric companies. When he found out what I pay with Champion, he promptly excused himself and moved on. Champion has great customer service; 2 years ago, I made a mistake on my order. I called Champion, and they promptly corrected my mistake. Highly satisfied customer.

I've been with Champion Services for about 6 years now, and have no reason to change. Champion has some of the lowest rates in the industry and lots of green alternatives to choose from. One of my favorite things about Champion is that the billing is so easy to read and understand and shows you your avg. price for electricity each month including provider's fees.

I have been with Champion for about 3 years now and I couldn't be happier. On the rare occasion that I need to talk to customer service, the representatives are always pleasant and helpful. I especially like the weekly emails showing my usage. I recently received an email letting me know that my current contract was due to expire in April. I used the attached link and was able to look and compare the various plans. From that it was easy to make a decision and I renewed for another two years. From start to finish it could not have been more than a couple of minutes, it was simple, easy, and painless. I am a Champion customer for life.

About a year ago I switched from my former provider to Champion. Could not be happier. Each time I have dealt with personnel at Champion they have been very pleasant and knowledgeable. Plus, I have saved a lot of money. There may be some who are cheaper but this full package cannot be beat.

Several issues: a) The "Power to Choose" rates were not realized when clicking the "Sign up now" link; had to negotiate with Live Chat to get the advertised rate. b) Within seconds of agreeing to a renewal, I received an e-mail confirmation with an about 50% higher rate for the energy portion. The agent apologized and said it will be corrected by this morning. This has not happened yet. In summary, Champion basically tried twice to get a higher price than advertised/agreed to. I'm still waiting for the correction. Otherwise a Slamming complaint will be sent to the Utility Commission, NLT noon today and Champion lost a pretty good customer at the same time. PS: I retained a transcript of the online conversation.

I completed my 2 year contract with Champion and renewed for another 2 years! I continue to regret that I hadn't switched to Champion from TXU 5 years prior to when I did. I was continually referred by a colleague to Champion. Champion's pricing is extremely competitive. I moved to Dallas a few months ago and this was my very first time having to find an energy provider. I decided to contact Champion Energy due to the good online reviews, especially in comparison to other regional energy providers. I called them to get information, and I received excellent customer service. They carefully explained each plan and I ended up selecting the Free Time-12 contract, where I don't get charged for energy on weekends! (From Friday midnight to Sunday midnight). Two weeks ago I decided to move to another apartment complex, so I contacted them again. I was worried about having to pay a big fee for changing my address. However, they simply updated the address and move-in/move-out dates. It took me less than 5 minutes and I wasn't charged a dime! So far, I am very happy with this company and its customer service.
Also, you have the opportunity to immediately save $25 by entering a referral code when you sign up, and then start saving $25 every time a friend uses your referral code! I don't like to put my name out there and review products or services, but I am truly satisfied with this company and I am also curious to see if their referral program truly works. Sounds like a great savings opportunity for people with many friends or a strong social media presence. I will update this review if I ever end up getting the $25 referral credit.
UPDATED ON 12/29/2016: This is a quick update to confirm that I was credited the $25 referral discount, so I have actually only paid $11.00 and $16.00 dollars in the last two bills due to the referral code. I live in a one bedroom apartment (with washer and dryer inside), so my electric bill has never been over $40.00, but I still think this is a great deal if I can just get $25.00 dollars off every month or every other month due to online referrals and recommendations to friends and colleagues.

We received a call from Champion regarding switching suppliers. After a discussion, everything they told me sounded good... it was a discount program. I was told that the lower rate they gave me would be guaranteed for 4 years, which is what it stated on the email sent after agreeing to the service. Never ONCE did they say we were going to be locked in to a CONTRACT for 4 YEARS and can't get out of it unless we pay an astronomical termination fee. I only found this out after getting a separate bill from Champion, where most electric suppliers show up on your electric bill. Not only was that a problem, but the rate on the bill was at least 6 points higher than what I was given over the phone. They say this was due to PA taxes, which is most likely true, but our old supplier was still less... with the taxes.
So not only are we stuck with the contract... because we aren't paying the $2,350 I was told would be due to terminate... but we are stuck with a higher price and for 4 YEARS. This is ridiculous. I wish there was a way to get out of this. I was suckered in because I thought it was a discount program not a contract and that the rate was going to be lower than what we already had, which it was not. They were able to get us back to one bill but I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the rest of the situation!

We have used Champion Energy now for the past 6 months. They are very easy to work with, send reminder emails and have multiple options for payment of bills. Their rates are very reasonable and one of my favorite features is their weekly energy report, where I can see our energy consumption compared to last week, both in units and cost. It has helped us be more aware of what uses the most electricity so we can be more frugal.

Oscar helped me with my Champ Silver 24 renewal. I asked for (and got) a loyalty discount as I have been a Champion customer for 6 years. I also threw him a curve by asking for balanced billing. He told me about the pros and cons of this plan and then checked with his supv to make sure he got it right. He was very courteous and polite, making sure I was not irritated by being put on hold while he checked on the proper procedures. Yes, it did take about 8 minutes to renew my service with Champion, but I came out ahead and had a pleasant experience. I'm getting a better rate than I had previously!

I called Champion Energy today to ask for an extension. I was told I would need to put down 25% of my past due balance. I lost my job last month but now have a new position. My first pay check is 4 days past my disconnect date. (Disconnect is May 31st and pay check is the 3rd.) I have been a customer for at least 3 years. I have always had good customer service from Champion. Sprint and AT&T are working with me. I had hoped Champion would help as well.

Love the service - great prices. But renewal notice is too early - and makes you feel like your service will be cancelled if you don't act immediately. Wait until 1 month prior, please. Or include contract date in notification.

The standard process across all retail electric providers is notifying customers 30-60 days prior to their contract expiring and we adhere to that by sending you your notice via email and other communications to ensure customers don't fall off contract.

I contacted Champion several times asking for help to pay my bill. I did a payment extension through tomorrow and Champion will not help me any further because the new bill is due on the 20th. We don't get paid until the 29th at which time I could pay both bills entirely. I guess they think that the elderly can go without electricity. I am 86 and my husband is 88, I am on oxygen and he has dementia. We just needed the extra help to get us to the 29th, but Champion refuses. Not happy at all.

I just moved about 3 months ago and chose to go with Champion Energy because they are known for great service. I have the free time on weekends plan and it's awesome! I'm able to plan out my activities so that I can conserve and save during the week and do laundry, etc. on weekends. I also get free energy reports and energy saving tips every week via email, which are very useful. Plus, the cherry on top is the referral program, which is another easy way to save. I can honestly say I love this company and plan to stay with them indefinitely.

I will thank my LAST REPRESENTATIVE for allowing me to change this to a 1 yr contract. I wished the 1st rep. would have REMINDED me that if I turn 60 in LESS than 6 mos. that an 18 mo. contract is TOO LONG. You should have plans for people on disability income also, it probably would fall under A.D.A. acts. We show our proof of disability income, or a letter from S.S. therefore we qualify like seniors. Please consider this option for others in our community. We have very high medical expenses (gave this rating because 1st person was Not looking out in the best interest of me, and also slow paperwork). Don't mind 1/2 cent more (that's NOTHING compared to our medical).

I renewed seven days late because I had a death in my family. When I requested to have the new or old policy rate be applied to that time I was told that was not your policy. I find that really bad service and may result in a loss of customer at a later date but has definitely made a referral of this electric provider not possible. For the record my representative was very professional, efficient and knowledgeable which for me does not match the inability to satisfy my needs as a consumer in a resolution I'm sure would not be a great financial loss.

I was contacted (by phone) by a representative from Champion Energy on February 16, 2016. The purpose of the call was to let me know I was eligible for a lower fixed rate if I renewed my contract now rather than waiting till it would expire in August, 2016. I was very pleased to hear what my lower rate will be and told the representative to consider that offer acceptable to me. I received several follow-up emails confirming the renewal rate and giving me all the details about my plan. I appreciate being given the opportunity to get a lower fixed rate.

I was recently given an email that offered an early renewal of my current 24 month contract (Champion Silver Champion Saver 24). After comparing rates from two other competitors, I called the Champion Representative (Brittany) and she covered the terms and conditions of the renewal and also answered several of my questions. I renewed the contract with Brittany over the phone and received a prompt email confirming the renewal. The process was smooth and efficient. I have been a Champion customer for about 7 years now and always found their rates reasonable, the billings understandable, and their customer service is excellent. If comparing electrical providers, I recommend using Champion as a benchmark to measure all others against. I believe that you will find that Champion is always a top choice and a great service provider.

I had been using Champion Energy since July of 2011 and was very satisfied with their services and their rate. I would sign up for a yearly contract which I would receive an email prior to contract expiration and sent reminders for renewal. I relied on this to know when my contract would expire and when I needed to renew. The end of last year was a busy year for me and with lots of other bills, I again relied on emails to remind me of any bills or expiring contracts. I never received one this last July 2015 when my contract had expired so when I kept seeing my monthly bill go up I began to investigate why it was so high as my usage was not any more than previous years or previous months.
When I finally investigated further, I realized my contract has expired on July 2015 and I'm now on a variable rate which was considerably higher than my contract rate. I had contacted a representative from Champion on January 28th, 2016 to inquire why I wasn't sent an email, and she stated that they did send an email and I told her to tell me exactly when it was sent so I can check again if I received it on that date. Later after a brief hold, she said she couldn't find that email and that they no longer send emails. This basically put the nail in the coffin for me as I don't want to deal with a company that is unwilling to work with me regarding an important issue which is the raising of your rate. I cancelled my service the same day (I went through 5 months of a variable rate before I even noticed) and no one informed me of this. I will not be dealing with a company like this.

I've heard horror stories from numerous people in regards to choosing the right energy provider; some get gouged, some can't even get in touch with a customer service agent when they need assistance. Needless to say I was cautious when selecting a provider - especially with so many to choose from in my area. It's safe to say that I share none of the horror stories that many of my acquaintances experienced and I can thank Champion Energy for that. I've only had one issue that I can recall and it was an excusable mistake on their behalf.
We switched apartments at the last minute and even though we notified them we were still billed for the whole month at the apartment we were not living in. I thought I'd have to fight an uphill battle to get this issue resolved when in reality it was just a quick call to their courteous customer service department and the issue was resolved almost immediately with a credit posted directly to our account.
They also e-mail weekly home energy reports which is helpful if you are trying to find ways to minimize usage - It is kind of like a game now. I get the weekly report and try to decrease usage for the following week based off of the previous weeks report! I've never felt like I was being taken advantage of or overcharged for any particular reason. It is my belief that they truly value their customers, which is a rare quality for large companies have these days. Overall I'd recommend their services to anyone in need of a quality and dependable energy provider. I will remain a loyal customer as long as I can. Thanks, Champ!

I've been very satisfied with your energy service. Twice I've signed onto my account and tried to set up automatic payments: the first time, it wouldn't give me the option, and the second time, I'm directed to a unsecure outside source, and it only gives me the option of setting up a pdf file, etc. So, I stop there. Not sure why this is such a difficult task on my part to help you. Maybe you could make things a bit easier for your customers. Thanks.

Living most of my life in Texas, our family never changed electric providers from TXU. Fast forward to 2014, when my husband & I bought a new-to-us home & I decided to try Champion. Not only was the process simple, but the rate is SO much better! I chose the Champ Saver 24, so our rates were guaranteed for 2 years! There are no "gotcha's" & the few calls I've made to Champion have been handled professionally with a smile. I believe it is important to document via Internet our POSITIVE experiences, as well as the negatives. But our initial 2 years with Champion has been a positive connection, so I just renewed for another 24 months & the rate is even lower. And TXU's rates can't even compare. Champion Energy is great!

I put down a $350 deposit when I started using Champion Energy in, I believe, 2012. At my request, services were disconnected on Nov. 6, 2015, at which time I was told my deposit would be applied to my final bill and the remaining balance would be mailed to me by the end of Nov. On 12/8, I called to find out where my refund ($202.84) was and was told that it was deposited in my bank, which it was not. Then I was told I would receive it in the mail in 7 to 10 business days. I did not.
On Day 10, 12/18, I called back and was told the check started being processed on 12/9 and I should receive it in the mail in 2 to 3 weeks. He said he would call me back with more info after contacting accounting; no callback. Spoke to manager on 12/22 who said she would talk to accounting and call me back before 5 pm if she found out anything. No callback. Called 12/23 and was told that check was mailed on 12/9. Called again and was told the check had not been mailed out and she would pass along my inquiry to the supervisor.
It is 2 days shy of 7 weeks since my services were disconnected, and I'm waiting to even to get a CORRECT ANSWER about when I will presumably receive my money. Does Champion expect customers to just give up and never receive their refunds? Am I being lied to, or is this incompetence on their part? Either way, it's not good business practice, and I will not use their services in the future.

I have been very pleased with the services provided by Champion electric. I have had services for a couple yrs now with no issues. They always send multiple reminders when my contract is almost up. Bills have been considerably cheaper than when we had TXU services. Would recommend to others.

Champion Energy really disappointed me. We set up the auto pay and they never let us know that they cancelled it because we entered in a number wrong, so they did not want to work with us to fix that number. They told me that it is not their responsibility to let customers know when something is wrong, and I would know that if I read the small print. So unprofessional. We will never be using them again and advise everyone else not to. They do NOT care about their customers.

CRIMINAL COMPANY SWINDLERS. A shady looking salesman showed up to our door promising 7.5 cents per kilowatt hour. He said there was no hidden charges or fees, and that 7.5 was just that, nothing else except a few small fees. His name was **. He spoke to my wife in our front yard near our car with 3 other adults present as witnesses.
It was not until he signed us up for service, by standing next to my wife and coaching her on what to say, that we were handed a pamphlet that says the "average price" was 11.7 cents per kilowatt hour because he did not mention ANYTHING about the distribution charges that would be collected on behalf of Texas New Mexico Power Company on top of our energy charges (and neither did the telephone sales rep). We just assumed that was the "average price" of people in our neighborhood. While my wife was on his cell phone with the salesman less than 2 feet away, the whole time she was not informed by him or his company of the 3.7 cent per kw/h distributor charge.
So were informed through the mail, several weeks later, that our actual charges was going to be around 11.7 cents per kilowatt hour (7.5 kw/h for Champion Energy, and 3.7 kw/h to be paid to the electric distributor). I called Champion Energy's customer service to express my displeasure at being swindled by their face to face sales rep and the phone rep. They stated that since my wife verbally agreed to service, even though we have not signed anything or even received an account number, we would be responsible to a $250 early cancellation fee, and that they would notify the door to door sales rep's supervisor of my complaint, but they could not promise he would be disciplined at all.
At this point, I knew some fraud was going on and that the company was complicit. I asked her if she has spoken to her supervisor, and she said that it was her supervisor that had determined that I would be punished for being swindled. So after telling them (without personally insulting the customer service rep) that Champion Energy could shove the cancellation fee up their butts, I called Direct Energy (my previous service provider) to sign back up for service.
I spoke with Direct Energy, and explained to them step by step everything that happened from the moment the sales rep knocked on our door to the point I hung up the phone with Champion Energy's customer service line, and the rep with Direct Energy said that it was obvious that several state and federal laws had been broken at that point, and now a 3rd party investigation is underway. They could have admitted fault and canceled our service, and that would be that but because the entire company is backing up the fraud, they are now under investigation.
Sorry to hear about the experience you had your enrollment with Champion Energy. Our processes with door-to-door reps go by the rules governed by the Public Utility Commission so that customers cleary understand what they are signing up for. This is verified through our recorded phone conversations at point of sale stating the rates and associated termination fees. Also, your contract documents are mailed confirming all this information giving you the opportunity to cancel within three days after receiving it without termination fees.
After reviewing your recorded verification call we confirmed that the price quoted and accepted was 11.7 per kWh average price, based on 2000 kWh. It was then further explained that the average price is based on Champion Energy’s contract rate of 7.5 per kWh, plus delivery charges passed through at cost (all providers have these charges without markup).
As a courtesy we are waiving your termination fees.

I converted to Champion Energy from AEP because Champion called my home about three times a day. They are located in Texas and I am in Ohio. I expressed that I was unsure and they reassured me that they were the same as AEP except bigger and cheaper. My electric bill was not any cheaper. In fact, it seemed higher. I was with Champion for over a year and I had to sell my house due to getting married. My new home isn't where I can receive their services. I paid my final 500.00 bill and assumed I was finished. I received a notice in the mail that I owed $1525 for an early termination fee.
This, in my opinion, is absolutely ridiculous especially since I was never late making a payment nor have I missed a payment. How can I be penalized when I moved and cannot continue service??? Grrrrr. I have contacted two different people and from the company and both of them have told me they are sorry, that's the early termination fee. I was fined up until 2018!!!

I am really pleased with Champion Energy. I have only been with them for couple of months but I already see how great this decision has been. My monthly electricity bills are much lower than what they were in the past for the same usage. I am especially happy with some of the other features like the weekly reports that are sent to inform me about my usage/costs per week down to the hourly level. This gives me great insight into where resources can be optimally utilized. All in all a great experience. On top of everything else, they have a great referral program that entitles me and my referral to receive a $25 bill credit for being a customer. I requested in early summer to have billings placed on an average monthly basis. It was never done on the first request thus requiring me to pay the full summer bill. I requested again and it still was not done and I had to pay another high bill. A service rep acknowledged they dropped the ball the first time and then they said they could not get historical usage (which is false since Oncor provides this information). The third time I requested, I sent a complaint to the PUC. Champion apologized, but was unwilling to go through the hoops of making sure my next bill started a level payment, so now I have another summer bill at full price.
Additionally, service reps quoted on 2 occasions a level payment amount of around $90-$94/mo. I was advised on my third contact with Champion that both reps were incorrect and my level payment would be over $133/mo. I asked them to honor their earlier quotes and they refused, nor would they put in place a level payment on my most recent bill. I would change electric providers, but the pre-payment penalty for terminating a contract does not justify doing so. Poor customer service and hope that the delays in level payment requests were not done intentionally so as to collect the higher monthly charges incurred during the summer.
We apologize for the miscommunication in getting your average billing set up. It is set up now. The delay in setting up your payment settings was a mistake on our part and not done intentionally. All average billing customers are set up fairly based on calculations of your usage history. Thanks for your patience in getting this resolved. We appreciate your business.

I have made payments on an account held by another person in order to be sure everything is completed in a timely manner, but instead of having the credit card I OWN be saved under MY NAME it is automatically placed under the account holder's name. This not only makes me leery of ever using the online service again, but leery of the company itself. And I not only have to have the account holder's permission to remove my account, customer service will not change just the card on file to mine. This is completely ridiculous!!! Even if the payment was completed in accordance to your rules, Champion Energy is making payments from my bank account under someone else's name which is unacceptable. JUST CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE AND SAVE THE CORRECT INFORMATION!!!

I've been with Champion for about 5 years and it was the best decision for me! I was with a big Texas company for about a year and I was getting gouged by their high prices. They wouldn't let me out of my contract without paying $350, so I paid the money. In the meantime, I signed on with Champion. With paying off my "contract" in installments with the other company and paying my monthly bill with Champion I was STILL paying less than I was before! I've been very pleased with not only the customer service and the pricing, but also with the ease of renewing. It just almost does it for you. I love the weekly energy reports also!

I spoke to ** at Champion Energy about renewing my service contract. My current contract is for 6.4. I explained to ** that I had found a rate for seniors, as well as a couple of cheaper rates with other companies. With **'s knowledge and help, he secured a rate of 5.2. One needs to keep in mind this is the only rate that is negotiable with any provider. The delivery company controls the KwH rate for usage in a range and added base charge. On top of our price from a provider like Champion, you have PUC and sales tax charges. **'s effort is saving me $280 per year based on last year's usage. Thanks **.

Her provider was Reliant & even though she had requested a service transfer to her new address, it hadn't been done & we were in the dark. All she could get from them were excuses & attempts to change her plan. I told her about the good service I had with Champion & she decided to change. ** provided excellent customer service. They talked to us like people, not like robots reading from a script. As a bonus, we both got a $25 credit on our bills! A great company & I will continue to recommend.

I have been very pleased with Champion as my electricity provider. I receive weekly emails with my usage charted so that I can manage my use better, and with the dollar amount of electricity I used in the past week. This make a huge difference is me tying my home activities to the cost of that activity.

I was a Sharyland customer who was forced to start shopping around for a REP. Out of all REP's I looked at, Champion energy had the highest ratings. I chose them and have not had any problems. They were very friendly when I signed up. The referral plan is great also. After my 12 month contract was up, I renewed for 24 months.

I have several account numbers, I manage rental property and use Champion for all of my property including my home and office. The reason I give Champion a 5-star rating is I had no billing issues. The customer service reps I dealt with, **, were great to work with. And when It was time to renew they went out of their way to give me a rate to beat a competitor I was thinking about switching to, even providing me with spreadsheets for comparison. No other company has ever done that. Most companies save their best rates for new customers only. They lose you and then spend their time trying to get you back...what a waste of trees. Champion has the right attitude and I appreciate that and so do the rest of their customers; they have the best reviews by far.

Champion is wonderful. In the past, I have had to shop for a new provider every time my contract expired because the providers attempted to switch me to a more lucrative program. Champion actually contacted me and when I called they allowed me to switch to a less expensive program (I already had a decent priced program). It was a no brainer! By the way, I like their weekly reports on energy usage and cost, keep up the good work Champion!

I sign up for a price lock guarantee of $0.064...on the same bill it states that, "The average price you paid for electricity this month is $0.12439." Fortunately my worthless contract expires this June. If you are thinking of choosing Champion based upon their advertised rates...buyer beware!

I first switched because I heard a deal on the radio. This ended up to being a wise decision after looking at what I was actually paying with another well-named provider. I've been with Champion for 3 years now and I really don't have look at any others for pricing. Champion remains competitive with their prices if you don't use all of your wattage something that you should always look at. No doubt you've been paying a much higher rate and you thought you were getting a deal. Still a happy customer and thanks!

At Champion Energy we fully disclose the details - - what you get billed for is what you initially signed up for. Also, our weekly usage reports help customers avoid "electricity bill surprise" so you know weekly, even daily what your usage looks like.

Champion has been the best electrical service and VERY reasonably priced. I was with the major electric carrier in Dallas for 30 years and it was much more expensive for no apparent reason.

I was contacted by Champion Energy. They said they could save me money on my electric bills. They convinced me to switch. My first bill went up $250 alone. So after 2 months of increases energy bills I canceled and then was hit with a $1700 early termination fee. Please be aware if you sign up and are unhappy you will be hit with an exorbitant early termination fee.

As a commercial customer in Pennsylvania, your early termination fee is assessed based on your usage and the months remaining on the contract at time of cancellation. If you cancel after your three business day Right of Rescission, you will incur fees. We have attempted to settle this with you and hope that we can come to an agreement.

Moved out from California and have been with Champion for about years now. I've been completely satisfied with their service, the prices are very competitive, and their analytics help set expectations as to what your bill will be as well as what it has been for previous years. The referral program is also a great way to save, and help others save as well.

I have been a satisfied customer for a few years until I recently noticed a huge increase in my monthly bill. I never paid attention to the delivery charge until I noticed it was half of my energy charge on current bill. When I called and asked why my delivery charge went from $5.59 to $24.50 the Champion representative told me that the delivery charge and based on my kWh usage. I told him I was fine with that but I wanted to know why it increased so much when I had used almost the same kWh usage in June. His response was "Do you not understand what kWh usage is?" I know exactly what kWh usage is. What I was trying to figure out is why it had increased from .01 to .04. He told me my current delivery charge is .04 which I had already calculated. When I asked him why it went from .01 to .04 he told me it was never .01. I told him I was looking at my bill right now from June and my delivery charge was .01. He told me I must have signed a renewal then.
This company is not bad as long as you're a new costumer. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SIGNING A RENEWAL WITH THEM. You might get good rate per kWh but they will screw you on the delivery charge and your bill will end up being more than if you went with another company. Right now I'm debating whether I should wait until June to get out of my contract or just pay the $150 to get out now. This company could care less about long term customers.

We've been using Champion for almost 2 years now and are extremely pleased. In fact, we just renewed for 2 more years. The weekly power tracker emails are a great way to stay on top of energy consumption and the few times I've called in to customer service they have been excellent. However, I still decided to do some research with my renewal date coming up. Champion's rates are in the ballpark (not the lowest but not the highest), and, based on my experience, it made it easy to renew. If you plan on switching to champion, use my referral ID- **- when you sign up for 25 dollars off your first bill.

I PAY WITH CAPITAL BANK FROM MY TABLET, CAPITAL ONE CHANGE THE SYSTEM I PAY FOR MISTAKE 3338 electronic check. The same day I see my mistake, I call. They tell me 2 week. I explain need this money for eat, pay bills etc. Common sense!!!! No problem in 2 or 3 week Daniel tell the same day they to the supervisor. Last week or two week ago I call, the same!!! NO ONE MORE WEEK THEY SAY. 4 week OH Yeah today I call THEY SAY they send the check Oct 31 but the problem with this is the mail take 3 days and I need eat, pay bill and if I am late you cut my services or ask for more money. I going to ask for money from you too, you going to give more money? Sure no!!! I need my money!!!!

I have been a faithful customer of Champion Energy for 2-1/2 years. Prior to becoming a Champion customer, I had so many service and customer service problems with my previous provider. Since changing to Champion, I've had no problems with the service provided or with customer service. When I've had questions, customer service has been very professional, friendly and efficient in answering those questions. When it's time to renew or change my electrical provider I've researched the rates available from several providers. Each and every time Champion has had the best rates. Since I've never had any issues with the service provided and the rates are best, I always renew with Champion Energy Services.
Several friends and family members have had other energy providers with which they experience a significant number of problems - the most problems being with the customer service departments. Many have had service related problems that never seem to be resolved no matter how many times the problem is called in for assistance. A few of the people live in subdivisions that have the energy provider mandated in the Homeowners Association bylaws, so they are unable to change providers even though they have researched the rates, policies and services provided by Champion. Each person has found Champion to be far better in each area than their current provider yet they cannot change providers.
The others who are not locked into a specific energy provider have changed to Champion. They, too, have found Champion to be far superior to the previous provider and have changed to Champion. So far no one has regretted the decision to change. In addition to providing excellent energy and customer service, Champion has gone out of their way to work with ONCOR to ensure that the proper paperwork was filed, and approved, to ensure energy will be provided or restored to my home when outages occur. Champion understands the needs of their customers and ensure, to the best of the company's ability, that each individual customer needs are known to them and efficiently help those customers to follow each step to ensure energy to them when needed most.
I am very grateful for Champion Energy Services and the services the company provides. I'm also grateful to Champion's customer service department personnel for the assistance they provide each time I call in with questions. They take the stress out of any issue and make sure each concern is resolved to my satisfaction. I've not found many companies whose customer service departments can compare to Champion's. Thank you Champion Energy Services for the service that has been provided these last 2+ years. I look forward to many more years with Champion as my energy provider.

Champion Energy Services is clearly the best electric company. Not only are they ranked highest in residential customer satisfaction for the past 4 years by JD Powers, but they also make it rewarding to be a customer. They have offered contests in the past on Facebook (where I won TWO court-side seats to a Rockets game), and they also reward you for referring friends. So far, I have earned $75! PLUS, on occasion, they will offer discounts to local retailers: like getting $5 off at 59 Diner.
BUT, the most important thing I like about Champion Energy are their weekly reports. The reports show bar graphs on how much I am spending on electricity each day. This motivates me every week to save electricity, and also helps to give me an idea of how much my bill will be that month. In addition, it keeps my family accountable for the electricity we use. I forward the report to my family every week, so they know how much we are using.
Paying for electricity used to be a "surprise" because I could never anticipate my bill. One time, when I was off contract with another company, I actually screamed when I opened my electricity bill!!! I also remember my "single" days when I lived in Connecticut, I was afraid I couldn't afford the electric bill, so I would not even turn the heater or A/C on! Can you imagine? The weekly reports from Champion Energy help me to feel confident knowing how much electricity we are actually using each day. There are no surprises when my bill comes each month! And since then, I have never had to scream! Thank you Champion Energy! You ROCK!

I finally decided to switch from the electric carrier I had for more than 17 years and I cannot say how happy I am that I did. I can afford the bills now and the representatives are so nice and helpful. I cannot say anything negative about Champion and I am so happy to have heard about them on the radio. In the past, I would get nervous about my utility bill. Questions danced in my head if I was on target, conserving energy, and if it was within my current budget. Not anymore, the weekly report of Champion make my week so I don't have to be nervous anymore. It is a horrible feeling not knowing what your bill could be. I began using Champion Energy over four years ago. My wife had a falling out with TXU over getting her elderly dad's electricity turned on when he moved to his new location. We got on the internet and found Direct Energy and did a one year contract with them. However, we found that they did not meet our expectations and prices seemed to change. Then we found Champion Energy and they have delivered everything that they promise, no surprises with billing and rate changes when you have a contract. We liked Champion so much that my wife changed her dad over to Champion and put him on a contract and when she did, his electric bills were cut in half. Needless to say, I am very satisfied with Champion Energy. I am sent an email every month before my bill arrives that states what my bill is and I appreciate that very much. I intend to continue to use Champion Energy as long as they continue the service they have provided in the past. Great company.

I've been with Champion Energy for more than 3 years now. Their customer service is top notch. Also, their website for reviewing and making payments is very easy to navigate - this is a major plus for me. One of the best features that Champion Energy offers is the weekly home energy report which shows how much energy your household has consumed compared to the weather and the previous week's consumption. This is a very good way to monitor your usage. Overall, I've been extremely impressed with the company and would recommend them to others.

I'm satisfied with the service. It's the resigning that I have a problem with. Special promotional rates are only offered to new subscribers so it takes a bit of work on my part to get that rate. I came close to cancelling the service and signing for a short time with my former service just to get a better rate. Steady customers shouldn't need to do this. Some CSRs work with you on the rate but many really don't care. I called at different times and finally got a non-foreign person that was willing to work with me.

I lead such a busy life. Sometimes things get away from me. Champion helps me stay on top of my energy usage and my bills! If it weren't for the weekly usage emails, I know I would not be as mindful of my thermostat settings and turning out my lights. It is the little things they do for their customers that make them the best in my eyes. I am also sooooooo thankful for the email bills. Even with the emails my busy life gets in the way.... so Champion sends me reminders! What a life saver! I couldn't ask for a better energy company! I was with TXU for 30 years - boy did they have me snowed. Only after I switched to Champion would they offer me any deals. It was cash back but no lower rate. No regrets for changing service!

Since we switched (over 5 years ago), our bills have consistently been lower than our neighbors'. The service is great, and the option of having weekly energy reports has helped us think of new ways to save. I heartily recommend it. One of the most helpful things that I've found in using Champion energy was the ability to find fully renewable, 100% wind energy at almost exactly the same cost as conventionally-produced electricity. I had expected that choosing a fully renewable service would be much more expensive and was pleasantly surprised to find that was untrue. I'm also very happy with the 'smart meter' system that allows me to weekly track the energy usage in my apartment, so I can see how things like temperatures, being home for the weekend, or being gone affect consumption and costs.

I have really loved Champion Energy. I noticed the quality of service from my old provider had slowly declined, while prices continued to rise. Switching to Champion was easy and painless, they even helped me out when I ran into problems with my old provider. Champion energy weekly usage report is a great tool that helps customers estimates their monthly energy cost and it will also help customers go back to look on a specific day and which they used that day most to find out a specific utility that has high energy usage. Champion's customer service is great (not that I've needed to call that often!). Real people that actually answer the phone.
