Our neighbors had a pool built by Blue Haven. I spoke with them, told them we're interested in a pool. They sent a designer out and we went over some things that we wanted in the pool. And a few days later he drafted something up and gave us a proposal and some pictures. They arranged a pool loan. They just directed us to a company named GreenSky and I spoke with them and knocked it out quite quickly.
We waited about six weeks when they broke ground. Then they did the plumbing, the electrical and the finishing work. All in, it took about 12 weeks. It is a free-form pool and the back wall is elevated. The people at Blue Haven are upfront and they do a good job. The back end and the customer service and things like that are extremely slow but if a customer is prepared for slow customer service on the back end, then they should be fine. They were nice to work with and chances are, if we had to do another pool, we'd be far more prepared going in a second time around. But we're more likely to use them again.

Blue Haven sent their certified pool guy out with his laptop, saw what we wanted and we laid it out in the yard. They designed it all in one evening. It couldn't have been a better experience. It took about four weeks from the time they broke ground to getting it done. I got the app for the phone to control everything. So there’s an automatic chlorinator on it. There were a couple of little changes that I made along the way and they just knocked it out. As soon as I mentioned something here or there, they told me that could do it. They were good folks to work with and everything went smoothly.

When I got interested in having a pool, I took quotes from a few people and then reached out to Blue Haven and met with John at his office. We discussed the idea and the budget. We had another two or three meetings with my wife at the house, looking over where we expected the pool to be. All in all, it was great. There was a lot of communication and the design process was awesome. John came at night at my office one time and brought his computer to show the final project. We met at his office twice. He was always very pleasant, super helpful, really good descriptions and very transparent. Our interactions were awesome.
The construction went fairly smooth, but if there was a little bit more coordination on the front end then it could’ve gone smoother. We had a bit of a hiccup coordinating with our landscaping contractors around the start date. And it was spring time, so we were trying to cooperate with the weather too. So, the construction was pushed back a little bit from expectations and the process from start to finish took longer. And there were delays with concrete. But the contractors were respectful of us being in our property, and coming in and out where we have a giant dog. We broke ground in early March and the pool wasn’t completed until July.
We already had some pretty creative thoughts around the pool in what we wanted to do. When John came in, the hot tub was gonna be in a full corner and he pulled it out a little bit to give us some more inside square footage on the pool, which was really helpful. After that, it was collaborative. Me and my wife knew we wanted a modern rectangular pool with a swim-up bar area. And John was able to take our ideas and really make it work. He threw in the stairs and everything went really great. It was simple and that was what we wanted. The spa is incredible, too. The lights have been great also, and that was more of the surprise.
If someone asks about Blue Haven, I'll tell them to schedule an appointment and to go talk to John. He was very clear. He gave us a ton of details from the beginning. And we were new, so we didn’t really have a lot of information. He did a great job of painting the picture for us. In fact, I have a referral who’s asking me information already, so I’m gonna send it to them.

I recommend Blue Haven Pools & Spas. The young man who came out and helped me with the design was really helpful. I had a larger patio around the pool, a sitting bench on it and wider steps. The construction took four and a half weeks, and everybody was really helpful and they were all really good. The pool loan went through Frost Bank and they gave it to me really easy too. Blue Haven helped arrange it for me but then I had a good credit too.

When I got a new pool, Blue Haven’s designer came out with one design and then I looked at other stuff and gave him another idea. After he redid it three times, he had the design. He always answered my calls and my questions plus, if I needed help, he was there. I made changes and did what I wanted. It took four weeks to put the pool but the longest part was getting the permits which took three weeks. My pump leaked since it was done and the team who did the work came out and fixed it. We’ve only had three weeks with the pool so we haven’t really enjoyed it but so far, the SmartPure Ozone is good. Blue Haven did a good job and if anyone asks, they should get them. I referred three people to Blue haven already and when I build my new home, then I’ll use them again.

We like the thought of having an Ozonator in a new pool and Blue Haven was the only company that offered that solution. They were also recommended by other people who had used them. To design the pool, Blue Haven had somebody come out to sit down and talk to us about what we were looking for and how we would use the pool now and in five years, thinking about the family and then the house. And then their designer also helped us design the deck and every area in the backyard that we built around it.
Since we had just sold a house and had a little extra fund, we ended up paying for everything as we needed to. The construction took about 12 weeks and it was two weeks longer than we thought it was going to be but that was understandable. We had a lot of rain and some other things during the construction. Also, we ran into some difficulties with grading and drainage in the backyard, but Blue Haven came back with solutions that helped us get rid of those. And although we wished the pool was done smoother than it had, that was just normal. I build out restaurants and no matter what you build, you always wish it goes smoother than it does.
Still, Blue Haven did a great job. We like our new pool and we love the bubbler which we have running all summer long because we leave the windows open and it sounds great. We also have a tanning ledge and that is just awesome. And because of the Ozonator, we don't use as much chlorine so the water doesn't smell like it and we don't feel like we're coming out of a chemical bath. Additionally, they're good people too. Since I am still a new pool owner, there were times that we had questions and they had people come out the next day to see what we were talking about. I've also called a couple of times during winter and they were very responsive. I'd recommend Blue Haven to my friends and tell them that they do great products.

Blue Haven out of Metairie built my pool less than 2 years ago. First of all they concreted the plans completely upside down which my steps are on the other side from my porch walkway. Second the vacuum broke. I mailed it to them and they wouldn’t mail it back. I ended up putting out another $499 and bought another. I started having suction problems when starting my pool up this spring. I called and asked if they could come make a service check. After several phone calls to the Metairie office and promising to come and assured me they would call since I am 2 hours from them. No show after 3 or more weeks. I called the customer service in California who never contacted me back.
One day I went to the doctor and guess who came? No call before till they knocked on my door and no answer. I called the missed call 15 minutes and said, "Can you come back?" and he said no. I call the Metairie office once again to complain only to get the owner Robert who belittles women. Told me I could call Customer service till I’m blue in the face that he owned this coming. Needless to say I let him know what a crappy service set up he had sending workers out on a 2 hour drive service call not even scheduling with the pool owner. Did he think that I just sit home and wait. What I did was contact a pool company in Baton Rouge who referred me to another who was so helpful. I will never ever use Blue Haven in Metairie or recommend them ever.

Blue Haven sent a salesman out and he sat down with us and told us all about the different options that they offered, as far as the waterfalls or the choices we had for the pavers. But, we didn’t like him. I wanted to consider the depth of the pool to go from four feet to six feet, but he insisted that it would not be good and that I wouldn’t want that. He told us that we had to go with the designs that he had drawn up already and he didn’t let me make decisions. So we decided to get a price from somebody else. But since a friend of mine had such good results from Blue Haven, we decided to go with them and we signed a contract with the salesman but it wasn’t what I wanted. So when we went to Blue Haven office, we talked to the owner and he let us change everything that we had decided on and what we really wanted. Also, he took us out to his house to look at his pool and we liked him a lot.
Nancy, the lady they gave me for financing, did the application over the phone and the payment comes from Lendkey. Stephanie from the Blue Haven Office did a really good job in helping me pick the colors because I was not good with that. Matt, the guy that does the pool training class on how to keep the system working was really good, too. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable about the system and how it worked. And Darryl, the guy led the construction team through every phase of it, was phenomenal. They started installing in April and it was done in May, which was within the timeframe that he told to us. The pool had been in for almost a year now and he would still come to our house if I need him to.
On the installation, they were supposed to do the granite on one particular day but something happened with the company that they were using. So they had to go with another company that they had not used before. So, when they came to do the granite, they brought the trucks and the owner of the granite company and the owner of the pool company was there. All the people came to see how this new company was going to do in doing the granite on the pool. It was aggravating at first because the installation was delayed but the pool looked really good once they were done. The lighting of the pool is the best for me but I like the waterfalls too, and I love the vacuum system I have on it. I would tell my friends to use Blue Haven.

I worked for a builder and Blue Haven has done 20 pools in my neighborhood in the last year so they came very highly recommended. I knew nothing about building a pool and David, the gentleman who helped me build it drew up the plans. I approved them and it went nice, smooth and easy. I was very happy with them. David was a good salesperson and knew what he was doing. I had no issues with him and I would recommend him to other people. I'd tell them that I had a great experience with Blue Haven pools and I used David, give them his card and tell them to give him a call.
During construction, they had various crews that came out. They had a job site superintendent and a lady in the office that was the head of production and she was always in contact with me. It was the same way with the superintendent who oversaw everybody. When they had scheduled the work to be done, they were never late or disruptive. They told me I'd be done in April and it wouldn't get started until 1st of March because of the permits so I knew they were right on time. I never had any issues and I had a great experience with everybody.
I have a very small backyard and I wanted to fill it up but not overdo it so I have a basic pool. They showed me how to operate the SmartPure Ozone and I do day-to-day or week-to-week maintenance of the pool. I also have it tested every couple of weeks and they tell me what I need. I personally clean it and the Ozone is so easy to clean. My friends have asked me about Blue Haven in the past and they’ve come highly recommended by me and I can name 12 other people in my neighborhood that would do the same. Blue Haven is an excellent company and I’m very pleased with them. They stay in touch with me all the time so if I ever have a problem, I just pick up the phone and they’ll send somebody out to fix it.

Blue Haven went over what I liked, what my expectations were and my budget. They did the drawing right in front of me so they made it easy, and what they designed was exactly what I wanted. I wanted to pay cash so I paid based on what was next on the list, like when they were coming to do the screen, I paid the screen guy. Blue Haven offered a lot of things and made some recommendations but I kept it simple. I like the water fountains and where I can put the umbrella. I have a little tropical landscaping around the pool but this winter killed all my plants. As soon I replant them, which should be this weekend, I'm going to send them a picture so they can see the final product. I've told a couple of people about Blue Haven already. I had a really good experience and I can't wait for summer.

Our interaction with Blue Haven's design consultant was quick and easy. I designed the pool myself and we just went over the size of the pool. I also designed some water bowls which are my favorite part of the pool. The construction could have been done sooner if they didn't have so many projects. We had some weather delays as well. But I spoke with a supervisor and he was wonderful. Any concerns I had, he made sure that it was done correctly and to my expectations. In the end, the process took four weeks and it went well. The whole system is not very complicated to run. The whole machine is flawless and it's definitely worth the investment.

We are very happy with Blue Haven. Their design process was excellent. We changed our mind a couple of times and they went with the flow and helped us get exactly what we wanted. The construction, for the most part, went very smoothly and they were within the timeline that was set. There were a couple of very small glitches which were to be expected, but we had no complaints. Everybody worked really well and we were pretty happy with them. They took the time to explain things to us, what they were doing and why, and they did what they needed to do when it was time to do it. They were usually very responsive, too. If I called, I normally got an answer the same day. Somebody would also call me back and let me know what was going on. In addition, the screen company that did the screen enclosure was exceptional. They worked extra hours and came in on a holiday to finish up for us.
The hardest thing was that some of the crew members that came out didn't speak English. That hampered things a little, but we got through it and we could communicate. Plus most of them had at least one guy that spoke English. Other than that, we've been swimming in the pool every day and we're enjoying it. We have a shelf in the deep end that has jets coming out of it that we really enjoy and we've got deck jets that the kids are loving. We have a panel that's up in our bathroom, right inside from the pool that controls everything. The paving also looks great and we really like it. We would recommend Blue Haven.

Blue Haven was great. I sat down with Mike who is the owner, and he was with Keith. I told Mike what I was looking for and they made an appointment to come out to our house to plot it and see what the land looked like. He drew out close to what I had specified and they showed us the design. It sounded great and we went with it. They were always friendly, helpful and professional.
We were told that the construction would be about four months and it was almost exactly that, from July through October. First, they came and dug up the ground and all the grass. They then put some wiring which holds it the way it's supposed to be. They did the screen, the color and then the interior of the pool. The guys on the screen were very nice. Everybody did every single job. Everything went smooth and everything that we did was perfect. If we had anything we didn't like, they came and fixed it. We got a hot tub that has an Infinity Edge on it. We also got the pop-up cleaning system throughout and the leveler that keeps the water at the right level all the time. It's very easy and simple to take care of. It has everything we want on it and we're very happy with it. I highly recommend them.

When I called Blue Haven, somebody came out immediately within the week. It was through the weekend and he looked at the site where we wanted to have our pool done. He suggested a slightly different option which turned out to be much better. Then he explained what our different options were in terms of our budget, how big the pool was to be, and what would be the better possibilities for us given the parameters. That agent spent the better part of the afternoon with us. He was as thorough as he could be. The dates were set to start construction and how long it was going to take, but unfortunately, it started to rain. The pool was dug and we had to wait until the rain stopped eventually a few months later. Then they brought the different teams that were to take care of different parts of the construction.
The teams that they brought were friendly, very efficient, and professional. We appreciated that until the very end where we had to put the cover and the tiles. The only thing was there was a bit of a delay and that was after the rain. The pool was almost ready to be completed. The person in the office did not plan enough time to get the necessary materials for the next stage. The delay could have been avoided if the person had ordered the tiles or whatever was necessary on time. But all in all, I would give them a good A.
We started in September and the entire project lasted a few months. They did a rectangular shaped pool with a cover. We have a little fountain on the side of it. They also took care of the decking. We needed a little retaining wall and that was an addition to the pool because of the location, but that was not part of the cost. We are using the ozone feature and we are very happy with that. It was delightful to deal with Blue Haven. They were available to speak to, to come as needed, and to take care of whatever question my husband or I had. They were very responsive and I would recommend their services.

Blue Haven did my whole pool and it was awesome. I got quotes from other people. Some were higher and some were significantly lower. But the other companies couldn’t even show up to give me a quote. I ended up going with Blue Haven. They came right out. They gave me a quote which wasn’t the most expensive or the least expensive, but they jumped on it.
One of the other companies didn’t take measurements when they came out. The rep said they were going to send me a PDF that had all these pretty pictures of what my pool was going to look like. I was sitting there thinking, “Well, you didn’t even measure my yard.” But Blue Haven came out and they measured my yard, and then sat down. They had these little pool chips with different designs. I chose a design and then we just modified that design a bit. They had the measurements and I was really happy about that. They also made suggestions based on what I wanted. They told me what was doable and what wasn’t.
I had a really tight corner that they had to come around to do the digging so some of my brickwork was broken. They came out and fixed it. It was no big deal and they took care of everything. They even did us a favor. We wanted little extra concrete and we paid for the extra cost. I kept adding stuff at the last minute, and they were cool with that too. I stayed in constant contact with Blue Haven. If we had questions, we questioned it while the work was being done. I had an issue with their in-house company that they used to do my coping and tile. Their guy was really crappy and they got rid of him. I sent them pictures of an issue that I had and they sent somebody else out and fixed it.
From beginning to end, the process was 10 weeks. It would have been sooner, but my heater was late getting in. The pool was done in eight weeks. When they came and set the heater, I had to wait for them to come back again. Nevertheless, they finished the pool pretty fast. We got two weeks of swimming and then the weather changed. I'm looking forward to it warming back up. The pool is 16 x 28 and kind of hand-drawn. It's got a step where I can put two chairs and umbrellas in my pool and sit. I upgraded to a pebble finish and I'm just loving it. It's really beautiful. The light that they installed does about 600 different colors. It can also do a light show, which is nice. I got a little automatic vacuum cleaner which keeps the pool clean until the pool man comes on Mondays.
One company told me it was $50,000 for a basic pool. They were talking about the old kind of plaster with no upgrade. I got a whole bunch of upgrades for a little less than $50,000. I've read some reviews about Blue Haven that were not good, but it was not my experience. Everybody was wonderful, even to the point when it was time to pick out my tiles. Any issues or concerns I had, they came out, and they either handled it immediately or they explained what I may have missed. It was just really extremely good communication with them. I've recommended Blue Haven to a friend. He was trying to go the cheap route and I told him, the least expensive is not always the best way to go.

I went to the Blue Haven showroom and talked about what I was looking for. Then we talked about the measurements. They came out and measured the yard. The rep sat down and mapped it out in what style we were looking for: the depth, aesthetics, and how it aligned with the budget. We creatively designed the pool and I knew what I wanted visually. We built the pool about a year ago in springtime, so there were weather delays and different crews. They educated us along the way. Peter took over the lead on the construction, and he was informative. We were well-informed from the excavation process to laying the cement and the granite to the rebar.
Our pool is rectangular in shape. It's got a spa and some lighting. Maintenance takes work and it takes consistency, but it's not impossible. It's like taking care of the yard. The process with Blue Haven was pretty straightforward. We had somewhat of an idea what we were getting into, and it's about what we expected. However, I would've preferred if it had been done a little sooner, and some of the folks could have been a little tighter and proactive with communication.

I was impressed with Blue Haven. I wanted a pool and I got a lot of people who came out. But, Blue Haven's rep was the only one who drew it on paper. I had other companies that would do a computer model but they asked a lot less questions. The rep from Blue Haven did a really bang up job and was able to cut cost with us on everything. Also, he told us what we didn't want and what we did want, and that helped a lot. They knew what people want or wind up being happy with.
However, Blue Haven said that they would not make a very big footprint when they construct the pool but the rep constructing the pool said that they need to start telling people that they'll rip up the whole yard when they get out here. Even in areas that they weren't working on, dirt, debris and construction stuff wound up destroying that area. Also, I did not get the waterfall I had ordered. They had to special order it and it was going to cost them a whole bunch more money and they were going to have to jackhammer portions of the pool. They didn’t complain about it at all though. The only thing I was a little bit disappointed in was I ordered a sprinkler type and I got a single wave type, but it's not that big of a deal. Also, I wished that there were more decking options.
Other than that, it went great and we wound up very happy. It's a beautiful pool. They told me exactly what was going to happen and overestimated the time frame it was going to take. They estimated eight weeks and it was done in six weeks. They came out and did exactly what they said they were going to do. The design of the pool is like a kidney bean with an extra bubble or three circles put together. It is partially exposed out of the ground which is really cool-looking on the backside where the property slopes. They also did a beautiful job with the flagstone coping which is a darker shade of what the patio is.
I wanted to go a lot deeper but they talked me out of it which was a great decision. They said that if I have a 38 foot long pool and I go from 3 ½ to 8 foot, it'll be a terrible area and I'll hate it. We went with a 6 foot which I argued. They said that they'd do whatever I wanted but it was going to be ridiculous because it would just drop off so we just went with a shower pool. They never told me no on anything but they would push back hard on ideas that I had and they'd say that they'd do what I wanted but that would not make sense.
The impression I got when I signed up with the rep who helped design it was that this is a turnkey pool. Since having the pool built, I have found out that I have to put muriatic acid in the cement to reverse leaching which is causing the pool to have a high pH. One of the workers said that they just water wash it but the rep doing the acid washing said that he was putting about four gallons, which is another $30 a month, of acid to keep the pH down. If the pH gets too high for too long, it will start eating the plaster. I'm having to put a ton of effort into keeping the pH under control. I was a little upset with them at first because they said that they're were going to give me a balanced pool. Finally, the owner came out which I considered to be way too much in trying to make me happy.
I washed my hands off that realizing that I have to fight this battle on my own. There's never a time that I tested the pool and the pH is not out of range. I have to do it weekly and about a gallon every week or two in smaller doses throughout the week. I'm sweeping off that calcium that's leaching out from neutralizing it all the time. I wish they had explained that to me better. They told me the basics of what I kind of figured like I got to add salt, I got to replace the chlorinator every five years and I got to clean the filters every year. But, this pH problem that I've had has been a barrier and it has been expensive.
Nevertheless, the plumbing and design were top notch. They did things that we didn’t ask for like one of those little tanning ledges. They also put little pipe stands in there so we could put umbrellas. They knew that people like that and they went ahead and did it. At one point, the tiles that go vertical right under the coping of the water line were put in. My wife came home and said that it looked retarded and that they need to go vertical. The boss came out and said, “She wants them different. Pull them all off”, so they redid that. That was about three-quarters of a day worth of work and they didn’t bat an eye about it. They pulled them off and fixed it. They treated it like it was $50,000 job. Blue Haven did a really good job and they'd be the first people I'm going to be calling again. They were also on top regarding professionalism and craftsmanship. They were very competitive on the price as well.

We got a new pool for a new house and we turned to Blue Haven considering their reputation. When we went to their store, we listened to what their design consultant had to say and we were impressed. Then they came out and they showed us exactly what it was going to look like when it was finished. They also laid out the timeline and the cost. We availed of the remote system and heating. The remote controls the heat and the light with the spa in addition to the pool. The manager was very responsive and was on top of everything. He was also good at following up on any additional questions I had. The installation went smoothly and quick. I went to Blue Haven shop and they walked me through. They asked me questions, “What are you looking for?” They kind of sketch something up and then made some changes to it. And then I picked out my materials and what I liked and we talked about pricing and options. That's how the design process went. It might not be a custom pool but it felt like a custom process.
The contruction process went smooth. We have a small backyard and we were able to make sure that we had room to swim around and have fun and left the back space open so we could put plants within the enclosure. We love the new pavers. Everything about it is great. We’re pretty happy with it. But I did not like the screen enclosure company that was outsourced. They felt sneaky and tried to get away without permit. But the screen company was the only thing that I had a hard time with the whole time and Blue Haven straightened it out with them. Everything got resolved and got done in a timely manner. Blue Haven gave a great product, met all of my expectations and made sure we were satisfied with everything.

We went to the design venture, met with one of the Blue Haven sales reps and he showed us the different options we had. He gave me a price point and after that, they came out and got the scope of the yard to make sure they accommodated what I wanted. They outlined, drew it to get a feel for the yard space and literally within the next week or two they were digging. Getting a pool is like building a house. They show the bells and whistles and after you see that, that’s what you want. I didn’t have a lot of yard and it was a Greek warrior design that they custom-drew which has curves and edges.
We got a lot of the smart features such as the light, the upgraded remote control and the heater. We got all the bells and whistles on it and they sent someone out to give us the tutorial which helped us out greatly. It was worth every dime upgrading to the smart features. Overall, we were pleased with what we spent. It was more than what we wanted to but we were pleased with the outcome. During construction, Blue Haven did all the permits and walked us through everything. We had rain delays so taking that into consideration, they were done in about seven to eight weeks. It was a smooth process and we referred two other neighbors and one had already started building. It was a great experience and we highly recommend them.

I'm a sub and I've built pool enclosures for Blue Haven. I've worked with a lot of pool companies in town and I could have had anybody build my pool, but I chose Blue Haven since their scheduling is awesome and they build pools in a really timely manner. Joe was one of their sales consultants and we went around the backyard. We got to design the pool and put it together on 3D like a CAD and went from there. Joe was amazing. He was very informative and helped us through the whole process. He gave us the dos and don'ts and what we really wanted and how we were going to put everything. It couldn't have been a smoother process. From start to finish, it didn't take too long.
We got their pool this past summer. It has the lighting, a spa and all kinds of stuff. I also got something in my pool that I didn't know I had. We call it a smart pool and it automatically comes on and circulates the water through the thing so pipes don't freeze. The spa comes on in the middle of the night when the temperature gets to certain temperature and starts coming on. I'd definitely recommend anybody who wants to get a pool to use Blue Haven. I referred several friends to them and I know that several people have gotten pools from them already.

I went online and looked for pool providers. Blue Haven has been a part of a network of National. I checked with a couple of other people that had pools built by them and all of their reports were good. So I talked to Blue Haven. I had their representative come to the house. He looked at my backyard and listened to what I thought I wanted. He then started pulling up my ideas and drawing sketches that would meet my ideas. He had a nice software that showed what it would look like with the choices I made about the shape of the pool, the pavers, and the location in the yard. It was graphic. He was very knowledgeable about the support equipment, pumps, filtration, and the other systems. I’m very technical and I wanted to know about that. He was very helpful and understood what was going on. We then picked up the design and said to make it for me. And they did.
They had used subcontractors for the different phases of the construction. A crew came out, dug a whole, and put in the re-bar. Next, another crew came to blast the concrete in place. Those same guys came back after the concrete was cured and they put in the plaster and the pavers. Then we had a couple of guys that came up who did the plumbing and electrical reservation. I was told that they would be here Tuesday next week and I was really pleased when they were there exactly when they said they would be every single time.
I talked to every one of them and I’m familiar with a lot of things. I watched them critically, made sure they were doing everything right and questioned what they were doing. I was a real pain to ‘em and they did beautifully. I know exactly what it is they have to do and how to do it. They did everything right and I couldn’t be critical of them. Every move they made was smart and efficient. They are skilled people. I’m a tough customer and I’m very happy. I have the colored lighting. I also have a shelf with a bubbler. Moreover, I have a heater as well. I highly recommend Blue Haven.

I called Blue Haven and they sent out a guy to survey the outlay of the land and to design the pool. He was good, professional, knowledgeable and precise. He came inside with a laptop and it went over fine. Blue Haven had it all planned. They projected the pool into the backyard and what it would look like up against the house. It also went on with the plumbing, the jets and all the different add-ons I could get like a diving board. And everything went exactly how the guy had it projected on his laptop. Blue Haven also helped in arranging a pool loan for me. They have a lady that goes through the different financial options in different companies. I was turned down by the first one. But she was quick to get me another one and really made it easy. She had a list of different financial agencies and everything went great.
I went with a rectangular pool. But instead of salt water, we did that new thing called smart UV which uses less chlorine. With the usage of it, it kills most of the bacteria on contact. It gets injected right into the system and the chlorine uses it to spray down. In the summer, I only rent it about four hours versus 24 hours. I also got the smart filter and the control board.
The contractor came out and went over exactly where I wanted the edge and wanted to do the other placement and marked it off. Then they came out three days later and started the digging process. The whole construction process lasted for two months. We had several rainy weeks in there and they preferred it getting rained on a few times with packing the dirt around it. We had the machine to pack the dirt with and they backfilled that once again and let it get rained on once again before they poured the concrete around it. Some companies wouldn't pack it and once they laid the concrete, after about a year, the concrete would start to crack.
The construction team was great. I got the cellphone number of one of them and if I had any questions, I could call him. And if he didn’t answer, he'd call me right back within 10 to 15 minutes. I'm 100% satisfied and I'd totally recommend Blue Haven tenfold. I have a cousin who used Blue Haven also. Their chlorine consumption has been way low too and haven't had any issues with their pool.

Blue Haven came over to my house and measured the area. Then they showed on the computer how it was going to look and suggested the best design that will give me more proof for my money. The construction went fine and everything was one time. They always called and let me know one day in advance before they showed up. I also had decking and lighting installed. The whole project took eight weeks. I had a really good experience. However, before they installed the LED lighting, I asked them what the cost to get a different color LED light would be and it took three weeks before I had a response. I was thinking of getting multi-color LED lights, but by the time I got a response, they had already installed the one that we had arranged so I just left it like that.

We had Blue Haven build our pool and we had a good experience. We had their designer come out and he looked at our backyard, talked with us, listened to what we wanted and drew it out for us. He was very knowledgeable and had answers to the questions we had. We ended up having a lagoon-style pool with a tanning ledge and a seating ledge. It also has two bubblers, an umbrella holder and a water feature that stacks down with the waterfall. Daryl, who was our supervisor foreman, managed the construction. Without him and his expertise and professionalism, it would not have gone as fabulously as it did. Anything I called and asked about, he was there. He would email me or text me each time the guys would come out since we had two dogs and I needed to know exactly when they were going to be arriving.
There were several construction teams such diggers, plasterers, tilers, and pavers and everybody were great, except for the pavers. Darryl came out immediately and fixed the issue and told us that they would not be using those guys again because they were not good. The whole process took six weeks but it wasn't a problem since they told me that it was going to take that long. I love the whole pool. It's beautiful and exactly what we envisioned. I was very pleased with everything about the whole process and I would not choose any other provider.

For a year and a half, we were dealing with pool companies and trying to figure out what we were doing. We also interviewed a ton of them, and Blue Haven's rep, Pat, was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable. The construction process was pretty smooth. We were building a garage and cabana so, that was kind of a hold-up, then the weather was an issue, but nothing that we thought was Blue Haven’s fault. Everything went well and the whole process took two and a half months. If we had any problems, we contacted Bill and he was on it. He was very good. We did the colored lighting, the waterfall, a bar, a table, and the bubblers, but we did not have the smart features installed. It was a brand new thing for them so, there were some hiccups on getting it working. Blue Haven was reputable, they knew what they were talking about, and they followed through.

I met with the Blue Haven designer on three occasions. I'm opinionated so I knew what I wanted and he designed the pool based on that. We went from there and modified the design. Our overall timeline for construction, which was two and a half months, was within the expectation. Their workers showed up when they said they would and if they didn't, Blue Haven was very accountable in trying to get them on the phone and figure out what the delay was.
Their prices were also much better than some of the other local pool companies. I was afraid of overcharges or running the budget up 'cause we built a house before the pool but they were very accurate with their estimate and what they delivered. We had a waterfall fill over from a hot tub and ran into the pool, color quartz plaster, which is on a remote, and the LED light that's color-changing. Blue Haven also sent somebody out to educate us on everything. I would absolutely recommend them.

I’m happy with Blue Haven. Their design rep came out to the house, showed me where the pool is going to be and how other stuff was going to it into the yard. I enjoyed my visits with my designer. I did the shape in the pool, the plasters, the tiles and whatever goes around the pool. They talked about the pump, the heater and the mechanical parts. The construction went really well. Everybody was on time, worked very hard, stayed late and they did a really good job. I was encouraged by their allotted time, too. Blue Haven beat other estimates and I got a lot more. Their rep was willing to show up to give me the estimate and everything was faster. Also, they stand by their work. I would recommend Blue Haven.

We stopped by Blue Haven and told them we were interested in a pool. They asked what we wanted, but we were unsure. They said they'd just come out and get some measurements and start a few plans. They asked us what our easement restrictions were. I told them our backyard was wide open and we can do just about anything. Two days after they took all the measurements, they called and said that they were restricted and only had one option. They sent us the design and, knowing what our restrictions were, we loved it. We made a couple of small tweaks to it and signed the contract within a week. I did the pool loan myself but they gave me some recommendations of some places to go through.
We have the upgrade LED lighting and we got a fancy remote which we can do everything with if I'm in the house. It works great for me and helps with sweeping and vacuuming the pool. The dig happened the Thursday before July 22nd and we filled the pool Saturday after Labor Day weekend. However, timelines could have been managed a little bit differently if they can't control their subcontractor because the subs held them up. I talked to the Blue Haven rep and she understood my frustrations and she would try getting subcontractor out there but they'd work only when they were available. Nevertheless, Blue Haven had the best customer service you could ever ask for. I've definitely recommended many times.

Blue Haven put our pool in. We had a face-to-face in-house consultation. They designed it and showed it to us up on the 3D. They allowed making any changes if we wanted to so it was a discussion and we came up with the final design. The design was excellent. They did the excavation, then the field, then the rural inspection of my house from the city. And then, they got my process, then the tile and coping back-formation and for another plaster. The construction took around two and a half months to three months, and there were delays, too.
Our interaction with the construction team was great. We have LED lights in the pool and spa, and we have the jets that come out from the spa. Then, the fountains are there but I put the waterfall separately from the pool so it's not connected to that. The LED lights are my favorite. The pool also has the automatic on-and-off so it runs every day and it switches off at a certain time. We financed the pool and we had paid for it. Blue Haven worked excellently. I have written a Google review for them. I like the construction process and everything was fine. I would recommend them.

The design process for our new pool took us about a year. We have already talked to Blue Haven but then, we weren't quite sure about our decision so we talked to some other companies. Then, we called Blue Haven back after about a year. We told them that we wanted to have whatever was going to be appropriate for our pool. They put the package together and that's what we got. They weren't pushy and I felt like they listened to exactly what our follow-ups and requests were. They designed something that was very close to what we were looking for. We have added lighting and water features into it. The little jump rock slash waterfall is probably our favorite part.
Though we had a few hiccups during the construction process, it was no fault of Blue Haven. We had a few little weather delays which were out of their control. Then we had a few little things, like when they laid it out, we didn't expect it to be that way. So, after expressing our concerns, Blue Haven either fixed it or explained to us why. They were very informative through the whole process and they met our expectations. However, there were several times that we had several days with no activity and the weather was nice. We had to call them and when we did, they gave us an explanation as to why. But from an eager customer who is naturally excited to see a completed product, communication about certain delays could still be improved.

We have dealt with Blue Haven before at our previous home. This was our second time with them so I was familiar with their process. But I had a general idea of what we wanted for our new pool and so we sat down with them, they took our idea, then we looked at the materials and finishes and all the various options. They went back and did a very good 3D rendering as well as rough site design. We did nothing extravagant with regards to its special features, but we added a couple of waterfalls as well as one light that has a color feature to it. Also we had a raised sitting area on the back side of the pool, which is our favorite special feature. We liked what we saw in the design so we signed on the dotted line and board detail drawings.
Though the design process went really well it took about four months of construction. There was nothing we can do about it because it just rained every other day for two and a half months. But we worked with a really good project manager. His name was Bill and he was really responsive to our phone calls, especially when it was raining. If he didn't answer the phone when we called he was really good about returning our phone calls. We're really happy with the end result and we would recommend Blue Haven to friends.

I live in a small town with less than 2,000 people. When I first called Blue Haven I said to the girl that I spoke with that I've always had a pool and the above ground pool that I've had for 18 years broke. There’s no fixing it and I'm ready for an in-ground pool. When she asked me who I was and I told her about myself, she said she knew me and it made me feel good because I was dealing with small town stuff and it sold me. I was talking to three other dealers but this girl made me feel so at home. They offered to arrange a pool loan and I did that and they accepted me. But then I needed a couple more years to pay it off and the interest rate was going to be too high and I didn't need it. I’ve already applied on their website and so then we went with this.
The design process went fine and we wanted the pool in the same area. We then decided the pool shape and look that we wanted plus we wanted the biggest pool we could get for the area that I had. It worked and the construction went fine. When the workers got there, they all jumped on it. The guy showed me my pool and we worked it out. They painted lines on the ground and when I said that it looked good, they started that afternoon. They had that done and cleaned up. They did well but there was one little hiccup in the whole thing. I wanted a certain kind of coping and it was man-made. When they got it several of them were broken and it took three weeks to get them made for my pool.
It slowed them down because there were some pieces broken in shipment which wasn't Blue Haven's fault but they resolved it. After the coping came they got that done and everything seemed to move very fast and it was all good. They told me how long the entire process would take and that came in about 10 to 15 days but they made it before that. The people saw my pool on Facebook and they drive up here all the time to look at it and say that it's beautiful. I would recommend them very much.

Blue Haven built my pool and the experience was smooth. We met with the designer who came out and looked at the location. He made a drawing based on feedback that we gave him during his visit. And then the next thing he asked to do was for us to come to the office and review it and see if that's what we wanted, then pick out some surface options like different color tiles and colors of plastering. After that it was just waiting for permits to be issued and then once that happened they started digging a hole.
It was three phases. The first phase was digging the hole, the second phase was putting in the rebar and the granite shell and then the third phase was finishing it all out. It took a couple of months to do it although they advertised 34 working days. It was well as it could be expected. It's a small pool of about 11,000 gallons and it fits the yard. We have the waterfall and a plain chlorine system.
We had the pool designed to fit the space that it was going to go in. Initially as they were building and I was thinking, "This thing might be too small." But once they were done it's perfect as far as how it fits in the yard. We never built a pool before and we've owned houses that had swimming pools before but this is the first experience we've ever had. However after they were finished the pool light went out and initially when they did the start-up inspection the pool light was not working so they had to send somebody out to change a bulb. And then a week after that it went out again so I had to call customer service to have them come back out. But it hasn't gone out since so it must've been a defective bulb or something.

I have a good relationship with Blue Haven and have a second pool from them. I’m also very pleased with their service I had. The service people come out in a few days and sometimes immediate but it depends on what day of the week I call on. I always get an immediate response, no more than a few days. I have the service rep’s name and the number stored in my cell phone and oftentimes I’ll just text him with an issue, but I always forward a formal request through the email so it’s in the records.
There had been various small repairs and replacements of parts along the way since the pool equipment was installed. The repairs had all been done in a timely manner and caught by the pool service that we have. And when I went home last night, the repairman managed to get the pool fixed and everything looked the same. That was good news even though I have never talked with any of the people that came out and repaired my pool equipment since I’ve always been at work. I referred my next-door neighbor to Blue Haven and he had a pool put in too.

We got Blue Haven to build our pool and so we went to their office and picked out the colors and materials that we like. They helped steer us to things that would work, sat down and consulted with us. They have a showroom with the materials out and they also have books of materials and options. The standard features are the heated pool and colored LED lights, then we added the waterfall and some seating in the pool like benches. We were very involved with the design of it and we took the things we wanted. We really like the waterfall, the deep-end seating, and the sunning shelf. It's a ledge with about three inches of water on it, like public tanning ledges. They also suggested a bank for our pool loan and then we dealt with the bank directly.
We then had the construction from February 'til about the end of July. There was a lot of delays and a lot of it was due to weather so it’s out of their control. Also, a lot of it was unavailability of contractors due to other projects. The whole area got inundated with delays which then backed everybody up. I understand that it’s because of the weather but it doesn't make it less frustrating. We also had some issues after the pool was done that they couldn't remedy. After they plastered the pool and they uncast the plug to put in the drain, there was a leak on to the plaster and created a stain that's been there since the pool was built. They tried to address it but it's a permanent thing. And then there was confusion with the payment method and how much we still owe them. We bought turtle mural tiles for the floor and owe them about $200 but they haven't gotten back to us on that. It’s disorganized and the office end wasn't the best experience.
If we’re going to recommend them to friends, I would tell them the end product is good. Blue Haven knows what they're talking about. They know what they're doing but it was bumpy. It wasn't perfect but sure, there's worst out there. At least Blue Haven’s reputation can be trusted that if it goes wrong, especially if it's something big, they'll remediate it. But they let little things get past them, like the stain and the $200 we owe them. It's not really a big deal so they don't worry about it. They're not as detail-oriented as we'd hope that they would be, but they're very personable. The owner was very personal and being a salesman, he makes you want the product but there's no follow through sometimes. The technical people, those who build and service the pool, they're very competent and responsive. The issue is trying to communicate to the sales and office staff to get the technical people out. I'm satisfied with the experience but I'm not super happy.

Blue Haven renovated our pool and they did an exceptional job. The original stuff was 20 years old and it was completely re-plastered with a different bottom. All the tiles, coping stones and plumbing were changed. The project also included all new pool equipment like the pumps and filters, except lights because I had a wire problem that we're going to rectify later. When they came out the first time to look at it, Curtis, the general manager, said that before they went on with it, he had to tell me that to do everything I told them to do was going to run us about $40,000. It’s a big 40,000-gallon 20x40 backyard pool that's nine feet deep in the deep end. I told him that was okay and that’s what it turned out to be. And I liked that.
They finished in the same time frame that they said they would and the quality of the work is great. It took them about two months to finish the remodel, as I expected. We were operating under the premise of six weeks, but I knew it will be longer than that. We had some bad weather and it was a lot of work. They were also good guys to work with. The guy who did the tile work was an older gentleman and he was funny. The plaster team were in and out in a day, and the coping stone fellow took about two weeks. He did it by himself.
Also, I didn’t have to call or do things. I just left the back gate open for them then they showed up and did stuff. They also cleaned up really good. They had extra materials like flagstones that they moved into my backyard for me to use for something else. They left them since I paid for them which was cool. Ben was the fellow who I dealt with mostly and he was helpful and patient. He came back twice to help us with pool school, so I'd learn to use the equipment the right way. I would recommend them.

However, it didn’t finish by the time they said it would be which we had expected. They told us it would happen before Christmas, but it didn’t until March. The delays happened one thing after another and one of them was the inspection, while the other one was that they were waiting for the shotcrete guys to come. There were so many people that they contracted out that they waited on their availability since they were working on other pools too. Once they dug the hole, it was about a couple of weeks until they did the shotcrete, but it was really fast.
The fountain was also built and its shape and combination with the fire pit were good. We have the remote controls and the lights which were good as well. In addition to that, their team was good, helpful, able to answer all my questions and awesome with follow-up and follow-through. They also have a guy who repairs the pool even years after it was built which was the big point of having a big company do our pool. If something goes wrong, I have somebody to call. There was actually a leak in the pool where one of the construction people drilled a stake into the plumbing. When we came home, there was flooding in the backyard and it was scary. We just bought a new house and the backyard was what we nicknamed “the looner” landscape. It was totally open to suggestion and we went through five different designs until we got the one that we wanted which was designed by Jeff, the guy from Blue Haven. He was very accommodating to everything that we were telling considering that we’re budget conscious too. We pretty much stayed right on path with our budget and everything worked out fine. Jeff also told us to go over the original design from the first advisors we had and look at it over the weekend before we do anything. As soon as we got it back home, we went up on our upper balcony and realized it didn’t work. It was a very educational process and Jeff was really good at helping us out with it.
The design was great, and the dimension of the pool ended up becoming bigger than what we originally thought it was going to be but it was perfect. We had to jump through the HOA hoops that slowed us down a bit. But once we got it going, Blue Haven came in and removed one of our walls to get access to the back so they could get the equipment back there. We originally thought that we would have it before the end of the summer since we didn’t have any special orders that would slur it up. The process took four months and we’ve had our landscaper, who is also a family friend, in the whole process of the construction. I told them to take the time to do everything right which was our frame of mind, too.
Everybody from Blue Haven was professional. All the contractors who came in were very friendly and accommodating to whatever questions we had. We added something special to the pool. When we bought our previous house on short sale, we threw a lot of money into it when we did a big redo to the pool that was already existing but due to the size of the house and the property, the pool wasn’t the center of attention. This house and the property being bigger, we wanted the pool to be an accent and not the center of attention of the backyard. And Jeff really helped us out with that. The pool was off on one side of the backyard and Jeff said to put a nice little waterfall and waterfall pots that spill over into the pool. It’s not overbearing but it looks really nice. Somebody with that expertise can see that and that pushed it over the edge. Blue Haven gave us the best bang for the buck.
Elaine, our scheduler for the construction, kept abreast with us and let us know the different scheduling. I’m an airplane pal so I’m traveling all the time, and Elaine was very helpful in getting a hold of either my wife or I and even let us know what’s going on. She and KC were our points of contact who helped us get on the right path with it and get it squared away. Also, the contractors who put our paver in were artists. I was watching them work as I see them painting in their minds the pavers in different colors and I could tell that they took pride in what they do. Blue Haven definitely got a good grill on the contractors that they hire. We like our cover and we think it looks better than the other houses and better than the original covers that were built into the house.
We’re still in the process of getting the regimen down but it seems fine. Blue Haven told me to try it first and then we can always put saltwater, which would be similar to Florida where I’m. The pool is still very new and we still have landscaping going in our backyard. Besides, it’s starting to get cold here at night and the pool will be ready for the first summer next year.

After that, they did the deck then they did the plaster on the inside of the pool. The construction process took about two months. Blue Haven built my pool. One of their representatives came out, we talked about it, and they drew up plans. They showed me some different designs and we agreed upon what I wanted to do. We picked out the tile and the decking, and worked on different aspects of how we wanted the pool laid out - whether we wanted a waterfall or not, a Jacuzzi or not, etc. We took off some things because we didn’t think we really needed such as a couple of different waterfall features. The only thing I would have done differently had I known was to go with something else to be put around the pool. We put flag stone and it constantly chips.
There were some things that didn’t get done that I ended up having to do. When I finally read the contract in that specific area, it said that they weren’t responsible for taking care of certain things. If I had known that from building the pool at the beginning, I probably would have said, “I want this scratched. I want to do it differently.” Other than that, it was a learning experience. I built another pool when I was in California and at that point in time, they did everything right. I never had to ask them to do anything differently. But this is a different time and people do things to make a profit and cut corners when they can. And it was in writing. If I had researched it and not overlooked it, I would have been able to tell them to make some changes.
They were also a couple of mistakes. I had a couple of little plastic covers that go over the drainage thing and the valves for the spa. One of them goes over the automatic waterfall and they are very cheap. They pop off every once in a while in the sun and that’s just one of those hazards that they probably didn’t make completely circular. It doesn’t quite fit down in there and then the heat closes the lids. I have a couple of Labradors and they love playing in the pool. My son has a couple too so when they come over and they get all rowdy on the deck, those things pop off. I moved the lids around and it seemed to help for the summer but it’s not completely perfect. I had a discussion with Blue Haven about it and they said they were going to send somebody out.
Other than those, the experience was real good. They said that the construction was going to be three months but it was less than that. I’m satisfied with my pool and I don’t have any problems with it. My wife’s very happy. My thought was that it was going to be a little bit larger than what it is but I don’t blame them for that. It still suits our needs. I'd recommend Blue Haven. My ex-wife and her soon-to-be husband are planning. They’re having a house built here in southern Nevada and they want to have Blue Haven come over. We had some other friends that had moved from California out here and I talked to them about it, too.

I would recommend Blue Haven. They built our pool and it met our expectations. We worked with Dennis and he was good. I told him what I needed and what my wife wanted. He then worked us out some plans and showed us. My whole backyard was all concrete and I did all the demolition work. Then Blue Haven brought their excavation company out and dug a hole. They put the rebar in. I had to wait a bit of extra time on my HOA to give me the final approval of it and went through the inspections of the rebar with North Las Vegas.
Once everything was approved Blue Haven sprayed the granite in and it was just as planned. It looked just like what my wife and I anticipated. Then they went through the inspection process of the granite and the pool equipment and then put the phosphate to it. I had also a paved stone deck put in. The pool was completed right at about six weeks which was a couple of weeks longer than I anticipated but other than that it was perfect.
My favorite feature was the gas heater. The construction team also did a bit more than what was expected of them. They made it work with my planter box and then charged me the extra for it. Also every time I called Blue Haven up they answered my questions right on the spot. If the person that I need to talk to wasn’t in there they would call me back within one or two hours and answer my questions.

We had an issue with the decking so we called Blue Haven and talked to Shelly, who’s their warranty person. I sent her a few photos and she had the decking subcontractor out three days later. She was looking to have them out there sooner but it was my day off that day so she had them out there on the day that I wanted. The subcontractor came out and I showed the issue to them. They said they would take care of it and half an hour later, they were done. There was no mess left and the deck looks very nice. I would definitely recommend Blue Haven.

I built two pools with Blue Haven and I’m very satisfied with them. As a matter of fact, I just tried to give them more business to build my new gazebo that is my entertainment kitchen area, but they didn’t want to do it because that’s not really their expertise. The last time they came out was to fix the app that runs the pool from my phone, the OmniLogic app. They managed to update and fix it. It's perfect and they did a great job. Blue Haven is very on target financially. They don’t gouge people and they work with you. Elaine is fantastic, Bob is great, and Rick is awesome. They handled everything fantastic and I’ve told people to use Blue Haven.

Blue Haven didn't tell us that we needed to move the stuff in our front yard where they were going to come through. When they came to do the initial dig they tore the front plants out of the front of my yard and literally just plopped them there. Also they would come and then it would be like weeks before they would come back. They did the initial dig and then they started pouring. There were big clumps of plaster or concrete they used to do the first thing but was just left and I think it’s buried in my backyard. We were given a date on my contract that said when it was going to be done but they didn't hold up to their end of the contract.
They had to come back out, drain my pool, and refix everything because there was rebar that was coming through. In my contract we had explained to them what we wanted. I understand we signed off on everything but when we bought the pool the guy that we had didn't explain everything. We told him that we wanted the color-changing LED lights. We also told him that we didn't want a complete bottom plaster that was just going to be white because you can see all the imperfections on it. We ended up with non-color-changing LED lights and complete white plaster pool.
Also I've had them out a couple of times because some of my pool equipment had failed. The lights that change on my pool doesn't work. They've been out twice to do that. So far it works but I've had to have them give me a new remote control and they've had to come out to try to get it on different frequencies. Another major concern we had was that we needed a childproof gate on my pool or around it because we have a three-year-old child. That wasn't included in the price initially and we had to go back to have it redone. The guy that we had was a complete and utter buffoon and he no longer works there. There are some people that work there that are awesome but I would never in my life recommend Blue Haven to anybody. If I could go back and do it all over again I would never have them do it.

I was already getting ready to sign a contract with another pool company but I thought of going with Blue Haven because if I'll have any warranty issues, they’re a national company and I might as well play it safe versus going with a company that’s a little bit smaller. You never know if they could go out of business or something. However, the experience with Blue Haven was nothing short of a nightmare. There were a lot of things that were told to me that didn’t come through. It ended up taking quite a long time versus what I was told and it was unfortunate for me because I already made travel plans being told that my pool would be done in about two to three weeks max and it ended up being another two months.
I had to tell them numerous times that the contractors who came didn’t clean up after themselves. They left trash everywhere and I was a little upset about that. There were chunks of rock like still lying all around the perimeter of the pool and my landscaper was telling me like that they needed to get rid of the rocks. They did but there were also plywood and everything. Instead of them taking to the trash can in front of the yard, they just left it all in the corner of my house for me to clean up. Also, they start early in the morning which was fine but they were accidentally banging shovels on my window and I had to come out and tell them to be careful around the perimeter of my house.
They got the guy in there and they told me that my part of town doesn’t have a lot of caliche. I talked to a lot of pool experts and they told me that there’s no way in hell they would have known that there's caliche in there. I wasn’t terribly upset about it even though there was about fifteen hours of caliche digging that I had to pay for which screw my budget out of whack. Then the project came to a screeching halt for about a month and a half. I asked them when were they going to get it done and they said once they get the shotcrete appointment. It was only going to be two or three more weeks of wait.
There was a lot of conflict with their contractor and a lot of miscommunication as well. One person would tell me one thing from the place but another person would tell me something different and they weren’t communicating with each other. So I was upset because I paid for the entire pool upfront before which was a mistake on my end. I also felt like my questions weren’t really taken too seriously and that they didn't really care.
When I called and made complaints, the lady almost basically told me I was being a little ridiculous. I ended up having to take screenshots of text messages as proof of why I was upset and sending it to them. And she was like, “Oh, wow. Now I understand your frustrations...” instead of believing me from the get-go. Once they got the screenshots, they addressed them and ultimately, the pool finally got done. It ended up being a spectacular pool and I love it. I am happy with the pool. They did a very good job on it, but I just wish the process was a little bit easier. When you pay $56,000 for a pool, you expect it to be done to the utmost professionalism.

I had an issue recently and Blue Haven was able to take care of it pretty quickly. I noticed the problem on Saturday morning and they had someone come out on Monday to fix it. I wasn’t home when the technicians came, but I arranged to have my back keyed open. They called ahead to let me know that they were ten minutes out and I gave instructions for them to head around back where the equipment was. Then they gave me a shout when it was all done. I got home and tested it, and it was all good. They cleaned up any mess and I didn’t even know they were back there.
I recommend Blue Haven and have already recommended them to a couple of friends. They were reasonable if we wanted to make a change during our plans. They were negotiable and very accommodating within reason. Shelly is the person whom I deal with any issues and she’s really great to work with. She always gets back to me. If I had to leave a message or anything, she always returns my call which is good. Their technician, Chad, is also really great to deal with. He is super knowledgeable and he taught me a lot about my pool equipment. He is super helpful.

Blue Haven designed, built, and serviced the pool. I’m on a weekly service contract. We started through the end of the season so there was a little bit of delay because of wintertime. We started October and finished it in May. We both agreed to halt during the cold season. The designer, John, exceeded our expectation in every way. The construction crew did a professional job. They worked hard and finished on schedule and there were no defects or any kind of recall work after the installation. Also, I have a very good rapport with the service personnel. I’ve been very pleased with the service and have recommended them to other friends.

I had Blue Haven build my pool, and I've got their Smart cartridge filter and the OmniLogic control panel. The 1.5 horsepower pump is a Blue Haven too. The salt generator was Blue Haven brand as well. I spoke with the design consultant every single day. He came out and looked at the lay of the land and what I imagined. Also, I took pictures of pools I found online, all the way down to the color of the plaster to every component of the whole thing. He drew up a pool that would be functional, a shape and size that fit within the backyard. It looked fantastic on paper. He always answered the phone and came out to the house tons of times. He was on top of things as far as the whole process of designing to building it and making sure everything moved along as quickly as possible.
Blue Haven gave me an option to speak to somebody regarding financing, and even that person was great. It wasn't somebody who was trying to sell me on something. I did all the financing on my own since I had a better scenario of available cash and some financing. I was quoted eight to ten weeks for the construction to finish. We probably could have finished in five but it would have been pushing it. We ended up finishing about six and a half weeks total from start to finish.
Everything was a one-day process except the stone. That was a week because there was a lot of stonework. The pavers took three days because there was a lot of paver work to do too. Everything was quick, except for items like gunite and plaster that can’t be installed when it’s raining. I was able to, fortunately, be at the house on pretty much any given day, so I was able to ask quick questions. Or if they’re not here, I'd jump on the phone and call them. There were a few tweaks that we did throughout the process, from the building versus what was physically drawn as far as the patio decking but it was all good.
I like being able to just sit in the pool and turn on the heaters. I don’t have to walk over to the panel and make adjustments. That's perfectly one of the biggest things as far as functionality. Overall, they're all super nice guys, top quality people as far as their end-result product of each stage of the pool build. Their rep is actually a friend of several of my friends I went to school with. That made my experience even better because there was a personal connection as well. They were there to make things happen and the quality of what was done was top-notch.

He came out and scoped out where it would be in our backyard. They gave us a date when they assumed they’d be done, depending on weather and stuff because you can’t help the rain. Everything went as planned, and by July 4th we were open. So, everything went extremely well. I call their rep Cheryl if I have a problem and she’s right there no matter what. She can walk me through anything.
We have two small grandkids. When we first got the pool, my granddaughter was one year old and the sunny ledge was the best thing that worked for her. There's a safe place for them to go and they won't be in the deep end, and we love that. I like the gunite too. I don't have a liner and that makes a lot of difference. My brother has a pool with a liner and he has to replace it every four years and I don’t have to do that. Overall I've recommended Blue Haven highly. We have four friends who put in Blue Haven pools. One of them put one in last year in Kingfisher, and they had the same experience we had and used the same designer. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

We wanted the spa that overflowed into the pool and then we added the tanning ledge. It was awesome.
We wanted it done as a surprise for a family that was coming to stay with us for a few weeks. It was completed in August and it went along faster than I thought. Those guys work hard. They were here at the crack of dawn and they didn't leave until it's dark. They were detailed and everybody was excellent. Everything went smoothly which is great. The pool also has a feature where we can activate and work everything through my husband's phone like when you're sitting in the hot tub and he doesn't want to get out to change something. We've had numerous people in the neighborhood asking and coming to look at it, so hopefully, they use them too. It was wonderful to do business with them and we are definitely enjoying the pool. We worked with Blue Haven on a new pool and it was our first time having a pool. The design process was really good. We worked with Jeff and we met on two different occasions. The first one was for him to get our initial ideas and concept, and the second one was to go over what he had and make any tweaks and measurement changes. Jeff did a good job of laying out the package and how much everything costs. However, we had to go back and look at the color of the Pebble Tec that we wanted again because the paperwork that had that selection down was misplaced, but it wasn't a big deal.
They dug the hole prior to us closing on the house, which was an arrangement with the builder, so we could get the equipment in before they put up the walls, but we ended up that tearing down anyway so it really didn't save us that much in the long run. But because they had done the initial dig, we encountered a problem with our HOA here, which is Southern Highlands, and the other HOA which is Olympia Ridge, which are extremely painful to deal with when getting backyards approved. Each time the design was rejected, we would have to wait 30 days before they met again to resubmit a new design.
That process took us over six months to get done. I finally had Blue Haven set up a special meeting with the board and explain to them everything we were doing, show them pictures and help them understand. It would have been in Blue Haven's best interest to do that at the very beginning. Plus, they could have been more in tune and have a really personal relationship with the HOA in order to grease the skids so the approval process goes through the first time, and if there were any deviations required, we could have gotten that taken care of. Instead, we waited almost a year for our pool to get done, which was not acceptable. I own responsibility for some of the HOA problem, but the pool company could have taken on more responsibility and helped navigate those waters especially since this was the first time we have owned a pool and had to deal with that.
Another thing was Blue Haven had basically zero project management. They just did things and when they got done with something, then they would schedule the next thing, whereas if they were on top of it more, they could've had the next trade coming in. There were lost days, or weeks even, when the teams weren't here working and they could have been had Blue Haven scheduled them appropriately. That way, setting our expectation would have at least been possible versus saying it was going to take another month. How many pools have they built? They should know how long this stuff takes.
They deal mostly with subcontractors and have very few of their own people and staff. A couple of our neighbors have had different companies come in bulk and they seemed to get their pools done very quickly, relatively speaking. However, Bob was personally involved in resolving some of the issues we had and was on site quite a few times to ensure that. He also looked at things that were damaged during the construction of our pool and some paperwork. He was really good about being personally involved with that. Aside from him, Shelley coordinated some of the stuff afterwards and she was also good.
The subcontractor used all completely fake and concrete rock and Jose was accommodating when I wanted something tweaked. He did all the work which was great but his process took a long time because it was typically him and one other person working on it. However, when it came down to sculpting, that was more of an artist and really a trade versus just building something, and I appreciated the time that it took him. He worked diligently on 12-hour days to get it done and he probably would have worked longer, but the HOA and the security wouldn't allow him in the area after 6:00 o'clock.
The pool took a lot longer and there were a few headaches but I was satisfied with the end result. The waterfalls are my favorite, and they also built a Koi pond for us. We also have the Hayward control system and I can control the whole pool and spa from my thumb. The pool itself is really well-done too. It fits the space and blends into the environment really well. We wanted more of a natural look, which they were able to achieve.

We designed the pool with them and the guy who designed it did an exemplary job. There’s always 'shoulda', 'coulda' and 'woulda' but the design is working out for us. We moved in in December, we started the pool construction in February and we filled up the pool with water in March. I’m a heavy communications guy, so I made sure that I stayed in touch with the girl who’s handling the contractors to make sure that she knew, as much as everybody knew, what was going on and she can keep the construction moving forward. We’ve been happy with the pool that we got. They put in Hayward equipment which works really well. Blue Haven built me a pool. In fact, the owner of the company came to my house with these little diagrams, took a measurement of my yard and drew it out. They also have these pre-made forms of different shaped pools in different sizes which we played around with. Then we tweaked the design a little bit from there because I wanted my pool to be shorter than their standard. So we shortened it a little bit then bumped it up some place else. I paid cash for the pool and they worked very fast and very organized, though I wasn't quite prepared with the chaos that ensued. But when you dig a giant hole in your backyard and fill it with concrete, it causes some chaos. Then I had a gentleman call me, ask me my experience and I said they were great.

Blue Haven's design process exceeded my expectations. When Dave came over, I was kind of wondering what he was doing because he measured every inch of my backyard. I didn't understand the whole 3D picture thing. He was measuring between windows and everything else. Then within days, he called me and came down and checked it out. I had an idea of what I wanted then he propped the design up on the screen and that was well beyond my expectation. From the get-go, I was totally stoked about it. He had a wonderful idea and he did an exceptional job. I get compliments about my pool left and right when people come over.
Completing the construction was the only snuffle. We started March 27th and everything was as Dave promised me. And then we hit a snag. Nobody came for one week. I waited about a day or two. I called Aileen about it and she told me she forgot to call me because the decking around was on back order. I told her that when we put the order in, Dave checked it in and everything was in stock. That wasn't so important that I could have probably changed that.
Then again we hit the excessive heat and there was two weeks of no work being done. So I called and asked if the pool was going to be done for my birthday because the kids were throwing me a surprise birthday party. They said, "We don't think so." I told them that they gave me the initial no-later-than date as June 1st and it was already the 17th, and that I was little distraught with all of it that was going on. They apologized, but that didn't help me since it was already two weeks late of being completed. I told them I'm throwing a 4th of July party and I needed to have my pool done.
They sent the start-up guy to come on a Thursday. He was supposed to come a Monday and finish the inspection, but he texted me at about 5:00 in the morning telling me he was a little behind and couldn't come that day. I waited until 9:00 o'clock when the office opened. I called and told them he needed to come. They screwed up my 60th birthday party, and they were supposed to screw up my 4th of July. I told them I'm paying them cash money so I expected the pool to be done. And we were done on Monday the week before the 4th of July. Everything was good other than the construction part of it. If I would've known a week before, I could have changed the decking around. That wasn't something that I was dying for. Nevertheless, Blue haven was so easy to work with. I'd totally recommend them.

That was very nice and we truly appreciated that. Once that design was done, he handed us off to the supervisor who oversees the construction and makes sure everything goes well on that. We were most pleased and impressed with the construction management side of the pool, the communications and with all that being involved. Blue Haven also offered to help arrange a pool loan but we already had the money and contact.
During the construction process, phone calls were arranged first, introductions were done on the phone and then a meeting with Jerry, the person who was in charge of the process was conducted. Jerry was extremely informative and helpful. He was the only person I spoke with. Every day, before the guys or the crew would show up especially at the beginning, he would give us a heads up on what time they're going to be there and what the process was going to be throughout the week. Then the following week, it would be the same kind of phone call. So, there were no surprises at any point during the process. The project took two and a half months to finish.
We had the fountain, bubblers and colored lights. It's all driven now by the Hayward app that we put on our iPhone and the iPad. It’s called the OmniLogic system. That's nice because I'm not running around looking for the pool remote. It's always available at our hands and our smart devices. It was a positive experience and I’m satisfied. I would recommend Blue Haven 100%. Our designer is now gone, but I would tell my friends to go with the design and their most favorable experience will be with the construction or project manager, which is the most stressful part of things when it comes to a homeowner because you get to sit there and see what's happening.

The construction part of it was about this time last year, about the same type of weather. They came out one day and dug it. The next day, they had the plumbing and everything going on. The estimate was about a 30-day window, but the rain came a little bit and shut us down for a small period of time which was understandable. But after that, they were on top of it and got it knocked out quick. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience and I would recommend Blue Haven. I have a neighbor that’s putting a pool in right now. He went outside the system and tried to go with a private contractor. He's in his fifth month of trying to get his pool completed and it's been a nightmare for him.

We consulted a couple other ones before we went to Blue Haven. We walked in and sat down with the rep and went through things. We immediately said we wanted to do the construction. We were in the middle of building a new home so it was all rough and dirt. We picked our tiling around the top of the pool. We were that happy with their price and their promise of what they were going to do.
But we were out of town when the construction began and my son was overseeing things. There was a little bickering between my builder and the pool place about trash lying around. I cursed my builder out and a lot of the times, it's the pool people who had to clean up after my house construction people. They also had to subcontract the concrete. We were in a dry style and it looked okay but when we had our first rain in, the slope of the concrete was not going to the drains that they put in. It was coming to my house instead. I called Blue Haven and they contacted the contractors. They were out within a reasonable time and it was all fixed and corrected.
They always take care of things. I was new to the area and the reason I went with Blue Haven was that they had a store. The other ones were private builders. If I need something, the owner of the store in Bossier City brings it to my house 'cause she lives nearby. I get a little special treatment better. We consider them friends and we feel like family.
We like our pool very much. We have the bubblers, water misters in the pool and between the water misters, we have a bench sitting over there. We also put a heater in the pool and that's my favorite. I also enjoy the colored lights feature of the pool. The pool construction was non-stressful and we're very happy. We have other acquaintances that built with one of the other designers that I was looking at also and 10 months later, they still have problems with their pool. They were sorry they did not go with Blue Haven. And then I have a neighbor across the street that'd love the pool. I've told them that but he wants to do so much more than what I did to my pool. He's been shopping around for pools and he's leaning towards Blue Haven.

The design consultant from Blue Haven was good. We got what they have on special for the design of the pool which is fine with us. The construction began with them marking the pool where it's gonna be, and then coming with excavation, plumbing, concrete, stacking and tiles. It took about 45 days with no delays. Also, the team was good for the most part but there were a couple of things like the skimmer lid not fitting from what they installed. It took about a month to get a guy and do a 20-minute job.
Then, we still have an electrical issue. They run a new breaker for the power for this but two or three times a week, it flips the breaker and the pump shuts off. A different guy came out and had to order a part. I don't know where he's ordering it from, but I don't see why they have to get the parts if they can get something that's probably at a warehouse somewhere in the area. Two or three weeks ago, we made a call on a Tuesday asking when they can come and do the final inspection. They said Wednesday to Friday but nobody ever showed up nor called. Getting them to come back out and fix or check something has not been good.
The construction supervisor was such a nice guy. He suggested that when they're doing plumbing, I talk to that contractor to do this automatic fail-safe. They run one of the pipes from one of our water spouts outside under the ground and when we need to fill the pool, we have to go turn on the water spout. They ran to that pipe and don't have to run a house to the pool so we did that. But when all the construction was done and I was in the pool and needed to add some water, I went and turned on the spout to get the pipe. I was doing some other stuff outside and I noticed I might reduce the water but that pipe had broken. We need the decking and water was coming out from underneath the concrete decking. I told them about it and they said it's not part of the original contract and they're not gonna come and fix that. It was the contractor for the plumbing that installed that, so it will be their problem.
Bottom line is that it cost us $175 to have that part installed and it's not a big deal, so I don't have to use that. I could use a regular hose to fill but it was suggested by their guy to do this. The service was great and they were excellent but only until the pool was done. The supervisor got back to me pretty quick but after that, it's like they're done with me. When I was trying to get them to come out and fix some of the stuff, I called ten times and they said they'll get somebody to schedule and come out there. I'd get to a point where I'd sit outside of their office telling people to go away to see if they'll come and fix my stuff. The pool meets my expectations but I'd tell people to try somebody else.

We had a guy from Blue Haven come out and we told him what we were looking for. He went back and came up with a design, and then sent it to us. We went back and forth, tweaking a few things. We knew what we were looking for and he put it on paper for us. The construction process felt like it took forever because we did it over the winter. They came out, leveled everything then they started digging a big hole. The next thing we knew, there was rebar up and wood and it looked like a pool. They then did the spray concrete. All that was pretty quick. They had to run wiring and plumbing afterward. The very last step was all the tile and the stone. We did PebbleSheen inside. They filled it up with water and taught us how to do everything. Then we were swimming in it.
We have the Hayward equipment. Everything is done through the phone or iPad, which is really convenient. However, I would have liked to have had a remote. But that was not offered with what we got. However, the unit itself has a touchpad on it. But you have to walk out to it. Also, when we started out, we thought that it was going to be cheaper than it was. But we realized quickly that what we wanted was way above than what our budget was. And that was with everyone because we looked at a few companies before we chose Blue Haven. Everything worked out well though. It was a great experience, easy and we didn't have to do anything but pay for it. I would definitely recommend Blue Haven.

They came to my home, laid out what the pool was going to potentially look like, and had several visits. We came up with a plan that worked within my financial budget. It was amazing. The pool was finished in 10 weeks. We did it over the winter holiday and by spring, the pool was open and ready to go. Also, I have a salt system and it made it easier if there was a problem. It would let you know and it was user-friendly. I'd recommend Blue Haven. They provide an exceptional customer service.

I met with Peter from Blue Haven and told him what I wanted. I requested a Roman shape so, that's what I got. The construction of the pool was done within 10 weeks and it was very organized. George, the one in charge, took over the construction to make sure the pool was being built properly and on time. He was very good and answered all our questions. We got the pool school to help us maintain our pool but it went in one ear and out the other. So, we ended up hiring a pool person to do it for us. I told my friends to get Blue Haven if they’re looking for a pool and as a matter of fact, three of our neighbors around us already have their pools in the process by Blue Haven. It was an awesome experience and the best I've had. From the salesperson to the finish, it was great compared to trying to talk to other salespersons from other pool companies.

We requested a quote from four separate companies in the area and Blue Haven responded immediately and was able to schedule an appointment for us within a week. Shane came in person to examine the area. He met with my husband, they walked the patio and he answered my husband’s questions. He was very good in explaining things. He saw the vision that we had then they put up a quote together for us and sent it our way within a few days. In addition to the quote, we requested a 3D design. It took two days to get back and send it our way as well via email. We had some conversations about some questions and to modify some things.
We knew from the beginning that we were going to with them. It was very personable, they knew what they were doing and they cared. In fact, six months before we moved to this area, when we came house-hunting, we stopped by Blue Haven. We knew that wherever we ended up moving we wanted to build a pool. That time, they didn’t have a business with us but Brandy spent a good 30 minutes talking with us and answering questions.
When they started building the pool, they gave us a timeframe of eight weeks. We had some rain and they ended up finishing the whole product definitely in less than 12 weeks. We were behind by two weeks because we also added more concrete at the end. But we are very pleased. It was a great experience to work with them. And we love our end product. It looked better than the 3D model that they designed for us. It's very accurate. We have a spa that has water cascading from it into the pool. We also have a waterfall right on top of the jumping platform. We love those two along with the slide. We also have this remote that has a screen that tells us everything about the pool like the temperature. We can perform it from the inside the house so that’s pretty nice. Also, Blue Haven has always been very good in answering calls even on a Saturday or a Sunday for one thing or another. I have recommended them without reservations to all of my friends.

The design process was fine with Blue Haven and the guy was great. We had an elevation issue in my backyard and we were trying to come up with price analysis and the design I wanted. There were a couple of revisions but it was coming to an agreement of what I saw the pool would look like or what I wanted. It's a fine process.
Also, I was trying to stay within the budget, so instead of having Blue Haven do it, I had this other guy that Blue Haven had used for the border around the pool. It was a little difficult through that process and that was a little bit of a drag so, it had to do with the subcontractor that they usually use. It took a period of time and that really slowed us down. Then, the weather started coming and there were a couple minor things with some of the construction type of things towards the end. Sometimes it gets frustrating with a little bit of the construction process but that’s part of it. Then, there are other pools being built at the same time and only so many people can get to it.
I had a slide and I really like that I did it. But the coloring of the concrete is a waste of money. I'd probably do it myself. I paid $850 for not much material and some of the stuff that I'd have to touch up anyway. So maybe it's better that I did it myself. That way you have the material there to touch it up. But Blue Haven knew what they were doing and when you're putting a pool in, you got to have somebody that really knows what they're doing and all the issues that could go on with it. Also, I'm happy with my pool, I'm glad it's all done and my process with Blue Haven was really good. Everything was full speed ahead and it was a beautiful experience.

We met with Peter and he came out to our house on a Saturday and laid out our options, measured out the pool, and we signed the contract with Blue Haven Pools & Spas the same day. It was pretty quick and he was very knowledgeable and polite. Plus, we’re two women looking at a pool and out of all the companies we looked at, he was very willing to deal with us and didn’t need a man’s input. That made a lot of difference in our decision.
Three days later, we had the design plans and our options for tile, plaster, the waterfall and everything. They also offered a loan, but we paid in cash. Then the construction process went really smoothly and it was handed off to Mike at that point. He’s their GC and he did a really good job of contacting us and letting us know when he was coming out. They said it would take six to eight weeks and we were done within five. They ran ahead of schedule. They actually beat all their deadlines, though I think we just lucked out and things fell into place. They had their teams coming in back-to-back days and they did a great job. They dug the hole, put in the pipes and plastered it and it was basically done.
It’s a freeform pool that they just drew out, kind of like a bean shape. We have a waterfall in the shallow end of the pool. It’s a natural-looking rock. We also got colored LED lights which really light up the pool. Then we did pavers around the outside and at one point, we had already ordered so many pavers and they actually came back and made a little design suggestion change, then we added more pavers. The waterfalls is our favorite feature. But the fact that the pool plaster is very, very smooth, might be our favorite part in the pool. Sometimes they are rough, but this is the smoothest pool I've ever been in. Overall, they did a wonderful job.

The rep from Blue Haven came out, met with me and asked me what I was wanting in a pool. He measured my backyard and gave me some ideas of what he thought was good in the space that we had. He drew it up and emailed it to me. He explained that they made themselves available at any time that I had a question. They even gave me their cell phone numbers and I could talk to them after hours about stuff. We agreed on the plan and he did exactly what we wanted.
They came and dug the hole, marked it off and dug it. They had me sign off on something approving the shape. Then they came and put that wire in and sprayed in there. We have to keep wetting it over so many hours so it doesn't crack. Then they did the flagstone and then they let us meet with somebody so that they could pour extra concrete. They filled it up and they made sure the chemical process was right. They came back and checked it for several weeks to make sure everything was going okay. And then they came back and put some grounds up.
It's the best experience I've had building a pool. I've had people tell me that they would never do a pool again 'cause that was the worst process they’ve ever went through so I was dreading it. But I didn’t have that experience. I had a wonderful experience instead with Blue Haven. They were amazing and I've recommended them to other people. They made everything easy. I wanted my pool a different color than what they normally do and they helped me get it. Our pool also got two little squirters that keep the water circulation. I always wanted a pool and they made my dream come true. I didn’t think I could ever afford it or do it but they made it possible. If I sell my house and move, I will have Blue Haven do my pool again.

One of Blue Haven's salesmen came out and we discussed the size and shape of the pool. He was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Then, we started the construction in June and it took three and a half months but the process was very stressful. We had some miscommunication with some of the crews so we had a couple of delays. There were different crews that came out and worked on the pool. It had like a figure-eight in shape with the spa on the side. There were a couple of times when there were some miscommunications like when they did the coping around where it wasn't supposed to be. There was no taking it up and fixing it because we were afraid we didn't know what the process is gonna be if we made them take it off. Also, they didn't measure the hardscape correctly so they had to order more hardscape and we got the wrong one which delayed that. This is the first time we've ever put a pool in it and it's the last time.
Our pool is not even a year-old but it's chipping on the bottom which they said is really weird that it ever happened. We'd have to drain our pool and have them come in and fix it but we're waiting because we're using the pool. But they come as soon as possible if there's a problem. We also had them put in a tanning ledge and bubbles which are my favorite feature because they are very soothing. I really like my pool and it was good overall but I don't think I would recommend them. We're not even down to our final expectation because something happened with the plumbing and we weren't told that it passed the inspection. It's almost a year later and they still have to come back out. There's a lot of bad communication and mess up. I had to talk to the owner to get some of these issues resolved and I didn't like the general manager at all so if he's still there, I wouldn't recommend them.

We decided to have a pool put in after two years of much thought, prayers, and research. We got an estimate from Gary ** and we were impressed with the brochures and types of pools they build. Gary told us that if we had a diving board or pool slide install on our pool our homeowners' insurance would be canceled immediately. That was totally false after we contacted our insurance company and asked them. We decided on a free form midsize pool with a tanning ledge, water slide, upgraded LED lights, and large paver deck. Blue Haven started digging April 25th, and they worked very fast considering we had several days of each week of heavy rainfall. The gunite crew was very good, the coping guy named Leon is an artist with a stone saw. Sal the paver guy knew exactly what he was doing.
The many different crews had specific crafts and skills, the electricians, the plumbers, and the tile guys all did excellent work. The superintendent Darryl ** texted me every morning that a certain crew would be arriving that morning, he was very accessible and always followed up with any request or question that I posed to him. We initially had about 6 estimates from 6 pool builders in the preceding two years, and their cost were very inconsistent. We decided on Blue Haven after our research, reading reviews, and reading testimonials. We are 100% satisfied with our pool and Josh **, Kenny **, and Darryl ** are some of the most honest, trusted, reliable folks that we have ever dealt with.

I got three estimates on building a pool and then I decided to go with Blue Haven. The designer, Jamie, came out to the house and looked at what he had to work with. Then he came up with the design and he tweaked whatever we wanted to have tweaked. We got it all figured out and he did really good with getting us where we are today. Their installers were really helpful too. Brent was the superintendent in charge of the construction and there were two other guys. We started in November, but they had explained to me from the beginning, that once we get the gunite done, we would have to wait until the weather got better through the winter in order to spray in the plaster and to fill it up with water. It took two months that there was no progress, but they were really good and had done everything they could do.
The pool has an overflow waterfall with a bowl that holds five to eight gallons of water and then it overflows into the pool. The only disappointing thing about my pool was the cost and I paid in cash. Also, I updated the light from the all-white to the LED colored one. Then I had Blue Haven do a remote control to control everything so I don't have to run around the house to cut everything on. All those upgrades including the bowl cost $1,000 each. But all in all, we are very pleased with the pool. It was a good process and everything went well. I have also recommended two different friends to Blue Haven.

I came up with the preliminary idea of a 25 x 75-foot pool that my client wanted. We designed a 75-foot long pool for exercise purposes and to meet the Olympic standards. We gave that to Nathan of Blue Haven Pools & Spas and we had them design the pool, the depth, and the individual equipment. The major hiccup was weather though. It happened to be in the middle of the winter and we were in mud and a lot of dirt. Then, there were coordination problems. The bad part about Blue Haven is that they subcontracted with a plumber out in Oklahoma City, an electrician out in Midwest city and with a gunite concrete spray company out in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We were delayed in getting started but Blue Haven got on it.
I reviewed the entire construction process daily as it went. There were several mishaps in the last year and a half but every one of them was corrected. They got on them immediately and took care of it. My client said that he was more than happy with the way Nathan handled all the problems. It took them some time to get it built but as of yesterday, it’s 100% satisfaction from my client. I liked the pool's automatic floor pool cleaning system. It’s like about 45 individuals pop up spray valves kept underwater that move the dirt towards the collection process. My client doesn't have to vacuum the floor. Overall, Blue Haven was good. Other than the fact that we lost a lot of time, we got it done and we got it done right. I recommend them.

I'm a new transplant to the area and I wanted a national vendor - one that wasn't going to go out of business because so many contractors in Florida are horrible. The owner of Blue Haven who's also the design consultant came out to the house and we talked. I told him what I wanted and he drew up some ideas. We kinda threw some stuff around including a couple of adjustments, and the design came out beautiful. I've already privately arranged a pool loan with another builder and after speaking to Blue Haven, I quickly realized that the other guy didn't know what he was talking about.
The pool construction took about six weeks which I was really amazed at. I've had pools done before and I've never had one done in less than three months. So, six weeks was like lightning speed. Everything was done just like Blue Haven said they were going to do. However, doing a construction project on an existing home is never picture perfect and something does happen. I emailed Blue Haven's warranty department and they made an appointment to have someone come out and fix it for me, or walk me through something. Everything’s perfect now.
The way the pool's done looks very clean. The pool is all automated and I put turtles at the bottom of the pool for the grandkids. So, it's kinda cool. My favorite part of the pool is having 90-degree water naturally at night to go swimming with an ice-cold cocktail. I feel like I'm in like a Roman tub. I knew what Caesar felt like. It's really quite nice. I'm in in-home sales and I've referred Blue Haven to a lot of my customers. I tell them if they have any issues, they know Blue Haven's still gonna be in business in five years.

Blue Haven is a tenant of mine in one of the buildings I own. When we built our house here a few years ago, I had them design and build a pool for us. We used them to build an indoor pool at our home when we first started our home construction and then of course once that got to a certain point, there are outside works as well. But Blue Haven was always pretty well on top of their timing in the construction process because we had to wait for the builder and everything else. So as soon as the builder was ready, Blue Haven was usually right there. So that coordination went pretty smooth.
Our interaction with them was always good. There were only two people working there at the time. For the construction process, they used subs to come in there and get everything done. The design process was pretty old fashioned. We just told the designer our ideas and thoughts and he drew it on a piece of graph paper. So it wasn't really an amazing design time with him. But Blue Haven is very good at what they did.
The only complaint I would make is that they are a small operation. If they organize a bit better and has a better design process, they could generate a whole lot more revenue. In spite of that the finished product came out fantastic. We have a big gas fire pit beside the pool and then the hot tub is integrated. It's kind of an infinity edge pool, so all of those features are probably unique. We have a large pool and we pretty much operate the entire pool functions through either iPad or our phones, which is nice. We've got a setting on our phone for a daytime pool or a nighttime pool setting and it just turns everything on that we need with a touch of a button.

I worked with Kenny from Blue Haven and he came over to draw out what he felt would be the best design for the yard. Then we spoke a couple of more times after that, picked out the pavers and the colors of the unit and that was it. However I don't think that he had all the options in his trunk. I referred one customer to them who dealt with another consultant and has gotten much more choices. Kenny just pulled the pavers out of his trunk and I only had maybe three options on color. I also haven't gotten referral bonus that they told me I was going to get. I have suggested them to a friend, but it was more for the product itself and not for the people that I’ve come in contact with. Their products are fantastic and the pool basically runs on its own.
The construction process is subcontracted as from the people who build or dig the hole, the people who come out and pour the gunite and things like that were different teams. We went out there and saw the crew were fantastic. However, we had a couple of things taken from the backyard when one of the crew was out. We can’t say for certain that it was that crew but we let them know. We went out there and tried to say hello to them and they weren’t very friendly mainly because of the language barrier.
After the construction was complete, it was suggested to use a stone that we’ve used on our outdoor fireplace, which was like a masonry stone, all on our hot tub, instead of the pavers that we had picked out originally with Kenny. We ended up purchasing some extra stones to make that happen, which we agreed to. They promised us that once they finished, they would bring a crew back out and power wash the pavers and power wash the spa, but it still has not been done. The face of the spa has a lot of grout residue. We are friends with the owner of Blue Haven and they have assured us that they will get somebody out here. But we’ve almost been in our house for a year yet it's yet to be done. It’s kind of frustrating going out there and having spent $55,000 and it doesn't look like $55,000.

They have a pool designer who we meet with and he draws the pool that we're asking for and sends diagrams. We work it out until we get what we want and then they build it. They gave me a proposal and I agreed on it. And then they gave a construction schedule of when they're going to dig, pour concrete and approximately when they’re going to be filling and they held to the schedule. All in all, it's a good choice and it was a satisfactory experience. They did what they said they were going to do.

The design that Blue Haven Pools & Spas made for me met my expectation. We're really happy with our pool. We got a ledge and a little fountain. It uses saltwater, and it's pretty easy to care for. When they came to my house we sat down and looked at the area. Then they sketched out some plans and showed me the different options for my house. We had so many things that had to be done before the pool construction. I had an existing patio and some trees and things that had to be excavated. It took them a month and a half to complete. They were very upfront about everything, I didn't know how they were gonna do it with what we had but they did it and it's a hundred times better. My timeline with them was great. There were other things that were way off but once they started it was pretty quick. There were a couple of things that they had to fix, like the retaining walls and other things, but they got it all fixed.
To clean the pool, they recommended me getting the shark which is the best thing I've ever bought in my life. We also have the Ozonator from them and I don't know if it's due to the fact that the Ozonator puts chlorine in but it is much easier than my hot tub that gives me the nightmare. One time we've had tropical storms and mud had gone in my pool one night and I panicked. The bottom was full of mud and we put the skimmer in and the filter on high and I just had to clean the filters out after that. My pool has been really crystal clear the whole time other than that from the storm. I would definitely recommend Blue Haven to my friends.

I had an in-home consultation with Gary from Blue Haven here in Birmingham. We looked at some designs that we had actually seen online, and then he showed us some of his past projects as well as general layouts to some of the designs that Blue Haven does. He's a great salesperson who was very professional and had a great sense of humor. The owner of the Blue Haven here in Birmingham and I also talked quite a bit. He was also very personable and funny. His personality and his knowledge on his material hooked us in right away.
Beforehand, we had looked at the provider pools and we had somebody do the estimates. But ultimately, the entire experience starting from designing the pool the way we wanted it done, Blue Haven was better than the rest. From start to finish, the process took six weeks. I had colored lighting and waterfalls installed, and the stone coping is beautiful. The pool absolutely met my expectations, design-wise. We also enjoy the little tanning ledge area. It's nice for us to step on and get our feet wet if we just want to cool off without jumping in. I also have smart features included and it's making maintenance so much easier. I would absolutely recommend Blue Haven to anybody and I already have. They were very organized and we're very satisfied.

Blue Haven have higher quality products than others. Their reviews are somewhat mixed, but there were enough positive reviews for us to go with them. The consultants were courteous and to the point, though it took a bit of work to get them to want to use our design. However, there were a few things I wish that they gave a little more attention to and were a little more timely on. Also, once they were done, it’s hard to get back in touch with them. There were a couple of things I found that I had to get them to fix. But overall, they did a good job and we’re happy with it.

Blue Haven Pools & Spas was recommended to us by our house builder. And since we trust him, we went straight to them. Blue Haven's design consultant was very good. We were clear on what we wanted and they did exactly that. We also got a pool loan with their financing team and we're very happy with the result. We like that our lap pool is pretty simple and they did a pretty good job on the construction process. We had family coming over on December but they did their best to finish before that date and they did. I would recommend Blue Haven 100%.

We can customize the pool from Blue Haven which was one of the things we really wanted in a company. They came out and looked at the property and where we would be putting the pool. They measured what size of pool we could put and what our boundaries were. We told them what it was we wanted, what we are looking for and they designed it. Their design consultant that we worked with, Brandon, was very diligent in checking with us from the first inquiry to meeting with him through the process. He always responded quickly to our questions and he was another reason why we ended up going with Blue Haven.
They started digging in September and their construction team seemed to know what they were doing. We were able to start using our pool in May. We went through a dormant process during the winter 'cause we didn't think that it made too much sense to condition the pool then have it sit through the winter. The design has met our expectations. We have bubblers in the tanning ledge and I like the water feature. We also like the waterslide of the pool but I just wish it was a little bit different. We didn't realize that the curve on the water slide would be tight for adults going down and it can be a little bit challenging up towards the top. I would have chosen a different water slide had I known about that.
The only hiccup we had during the process was that we had a misunderstanding as far as whether the fire pit that we wanted was included in our pool price or not. But we worked through that and we were able to come to an agreement. They resolved it fairly quickly and we ended up going straight to the company that they used for landscaping and using them as well. Other than that, everything else has been great.

When I did some research, Blue Haven had good reviews from other people's experiences so I took a shot. The design consultant came to the house and asked what I was looking for, what my price range was and if I had more or less an idea of what features I wanted. Once I gave them that information they came back and gave me some options based on what I told them. I saw something that I liked and went with it. They also helped secure a loan for me.
For the most part, things went smoothly. Although the duration took three months, they were only at my house for a duration of three weeks. Every step they did is usually a day process. At the end of each day, they would finish something up and they would schedule a couple days later for someone else to come out to do the next step. They were good and professional. However, they have to come back and finish one thing up with my wall that they had to tear down to get into the backyard, and they haven't scheduled anything yet.
But, overall, the pool looks great. I went with some coloring to make the water a little bit more blue-like. The pool pump turns on and off based on a schedule but, other than that, all the other features are basic. I have the vacuum that cleans the pool. It's a simple pool but it meets the needs and the expectations I had. I would recommend Blue Haven. The process was smooth and painless. They're a good company and overall they meet most people's needs.

A guy from Blue Haven came and discussed the pool. He hand drew it out. Then, because it’s in a form in a book, I picked one. It was that simple. The design met my expectations but there were a couple of things a little bit off. I changed the depth of the water to 3 feet instead of 3.5 to accommodate my grandchildren, but as it turns out it's 3.5. They didn’t make it 3 feet even though I asked them to and reminded them. Also, when they’ve dug a hole in the yard, they've made a huge mess with lots of concrete all over the place. Even with shoes on, it's hard to walk out there.
They told me they were going to clean it all up but they didn’t. I even had to get a guy to come out. I'm too old to do that with the shovel and try to pile that stuff up or pick it up. I'm just mad that they didn’t come do it. Other than that, the pool was great. It's beautiful. We've had too much rain to get the concrete deck poured and we've been waiting and waiting for a month, but hopefully they’ll get it done this week and then we will get the landscaping going. I also like the LED lights, but it goes out constantly, never running, and is a pain to change.

I met with the Blue Haven team for the design process and we talked, sat down and sketched the plan out, and went from there. The design consultant was knowledgeable and good. Blue Haven would have helped arrange for a loan but we paid cash. My favorite feature of the pool is the waterfall and I have the SmartVac that cleans the water. Blue Haven is professional and I would recommend them. There were some delays in the construction, but nothing they caused. It was the best ever raining season in California with 32 days straight of rain.

We had initially been looking at a Blue Haven pool. I sent in a request for a pre-estimate and our designer came out and looked at our land scape and we told her where we wanted it. She said she was going to put together an initial concept based on what we were telling her and sure enough she came back and had a YouTube video and she made suggestions which we took complete advantage of. She designed the pool exactly how we wanted it. She was very punctual and she communicated well.
I had everything done prior to them getting at our place so when we were ready, it was a go. They came out, spray painted the shape of the pool on the ground, and we made a few adjustments with it. The next day they started digging and it took five weeks from that day to the time we put our bodies in the pool. The timeline was qualified with the fact that they said they can't do anything if it rained and would add time if hit a spring down there. They met every deadline that they said they would.
They were responsive when we filled the pool up with water and turned the pumps on. We have a bubbler on our tanning ledge that was not working and the guy said not to worry as sometimes the plaster would get in there. They went in and tried to bust the plaster out, it still didn't work. The guy that was in charge came back and told us that the pipe was too far for them to reach and so they have to take out the plaster and replaster the pool. They were out here when the pool was drained, and the only time it rained was when they came back to replaster it. They put a big tarp over the top of the pool, weighed down the tarp, put a blower underneath and they blew up the tarp so they could work underneath the tarp while it was raining to get the re-plaster done. It was pretty impressive and it didn't take a week to fix the problem.
Our property has a little bit of an elevation so it goes up from our back door and on the back, we could look out and see the wall as it comes around. We did a stacked stone wall with two waterfalls coming out of it along with the waterfall from the Jacuzzis. That’s beautiful, just the way our yard is set up. We have three waterfalls coming into the pool, a tanning ledge with a hole to put a number of holes and a bubbler there. And then one of the things that the designer talked us about was we were going to come out at the deep end of the pool and just come straight to the brick wall. But instead we curved it and put a curved seating area over there. That was her idea and we really like that. She did a great job in designing, something that was aesthetically pleasing and also functional.
Then we have a spa attached to our pool and we didn't want just a standard six jets, so we got six more added to the Jacuzzi in which there were two jets in every sitting station. It was completely new to them and so they did that but it's not quite working the way we wanted. We needed all 12 of the jets to turn on, but only six of them functioned and the other six were attached to the bubble. I've already got in a request for Blue Haven to come out and see what's going on.
Then the pool equipment included the wireless remote where I can see all the stuff on the pool temperature, the amount of salt and all that kind of stuff. I can also turn on the spa jets, bubbler, gas heater, the water feature, and the filter using that. And I can change the different light patterns with that remote. So for instance, my remote came up to check the salt sensor or self-sensor. I went in and cleaned the filters and the cell myself. But then I also noticed there's some water over there. I called the pool maintenance guy and he was here today. He said that it looked like they're going to have to replace the main motor as the ball bearings in it went bad. That would be something they could take care of under warranty. Blue Haven’s great and I couldn't have asked for anything better. We absolutely love the pool. I've had other people put Blue Haven Pools based upon our recommendations.

I’ve priced out 15 companies in the area and they wanted outrageous prices. They would try to give me the BS because they thought people from the north were stupid. I’ve been a builder too. I know since I could work out to what we need in the bag. They wanted me to put a separate wall from the pool and put the pool in. I told them they were crazy. They wanted almost $100,000 out of me.
Blue Haven was the last company. They forced themselves to come to my home and then we sat down for three hours. I liked the way Gary, the salesman, presented himself. He took the contract and said, “Thank you very much Joe. I’ll see you at the end.” However, I never see him anymore. I’m from the old school and if the person would sign a contract with somebody, he'd better try to be there in the beginning and in the end to see if everything was okay. You don’t just sign a contract and go away after that. That’s made me feel bad about it.
Everything is done over the phone now and nobody wants to go a new place that’s why I don't bother anymore. But the banister has to be replaced. It has gotten stains from the rain and from the repairs a couple of weeks. People would ask what happened to it when they come in. The gentleman that cleans the pool every week took a picture of it and Blue Haven said they would replace it. They put it on order now for about another two weeks. I’m still waiting for the banister and I’m still waiting to find out if they had a final inspection on it. But other than that, everything is fine. I’m very happy and I can’t ask for nothing better. They did everything the professional way from beginning to end. I’m very satisfied and I would recommend them.

Blue Haven had their developer or their software bureau go through the software that they have, and asked us questions and they incorporated that into the design. We paid for it through our bank and we got a built-in table, a sitting ledge, in-pool bar stools and a hot tub. The hot tub is my favorite part and then the tanning ledge. We use all of the pool's features. Its construction, however, took two years since we had a gas line that got hit and had to be relocated. It was outside of Blue Haven's control and when they got back to it, they met our expectations. They did a great job.

Ben, the sales rep from Blue Haven, was great to work with. He did a great job of coming over, planning the pool out and giving us drawings. It was great to see the renderings. However, in the middle of our process, right when we're about to sign the paperwork, the current owner died unexpectedly so we had to wait for a new franchisee to buy the company before we could buy the pool. Ben especially did a good job in keeping us posted on things and letting us know what was going on. It could all have been really frustrating and annoying, but it wasn't. I even remember construction guy sort out contractors and stuff like that with the new owner. We don't really have any complaints at all.
The construction took a couple of months and also went well. They were here when they said they'd be here and things were done when it said it was going to be done. We can control the pool with our phone and it's got an automatic sweeper, but I especially like its hot tub. It's great. They were really easy to work with and were nice, hard workers, polite and courteous. They keep their promises, had high quality and did an excellent job. I'd absolutely recommend them.

I liked my meeting with Dave and Manny, the design consultant and the pool installer from Blue Haven. The pool design met my expectations, too. They started with the construction in October and we put water in it in April. We had travertine and tile put on the top, and that was all done wrong. So, Manny took it all off and had to redo it. They tried to do the right thing and build it appropriately. However, I paid extra money for the darker plaster, but I've seen a couple of areas where it's pretty thin. The hot tub is flaking a little bit. That may be normal expected stuff with plaster, but Manny has been very receptive and he's gonna have to come out and fix that. Overall, it's been a positive experience with Blue Haven and I would certainly recommend them. They also helped arrange a pool loan for us and we had no problems with their financing team.

I wanted a pool and after talking with a couple of places on the phone, I decided to have Blue Haven come out. This was back in 2005 and I had a young gentleman come out. The design consultant was knowledgeable. He walked me through a lot of options and what extras I could get because I had never built a pool before. It was cute how they gave me little designs to compare how I wanted the pool to be based on what my backyard looked like. Then I got to spray paint the ground to plan how I wanted my pool to look and where I wanted it exactly. If I didn't like something, all I had to do was scrub it with my foot.
I got equity out of my house and I paid for it in cash. They started getting the permits and I didn't have any issues there except for once when I thought they were going to come out a certain day and they didn't, but it was just because of the weather. We had a pretty heavy winter that year so the permits got stalled and the construction process took three months. But I fully anticipated that and besides, it didn't get delayed in leaps and bounds. It was only a week or two and it was very nominal. The only thing that I didn't anticipate was with it being a rough winter, we couldn't do certain things with it being muddy. But in the end, it made perfect sense and I still benefited from that because the rain compacted the dirt more and so I had a really good foundation.
When I asked them to do something different for me, they accommodated me easily and without any hesitation. At the time, my son was still very small and he wasn't even swimming yet. He was one or two years old. The first step is usually a Baja ledge which is like stepping in a kind of wave, but I was trying to be smarter and I wanted my kid to benefit from it. I told them I wanted step number two to be my Baja ledge instead of step number one. So the foreman came out there on a week, got his big drill, drilled that out and made it happen for me. I was really happy about that. It's more than three feet long and that's my favorite feature now. The foreman was also very much in charge and well-mannered.
I have a waterfall and a love seat in the pool as well. Aside from those, I put in six-inch letters with my son's name and also a scorpion in the bottom of the pool 'cause I'm a Scorpio. All those things were in place and done really well. Timeliness and cost effectiveness still went well and what I purchased is what I got. I always say that the best thing in my house is my pool and I love it.
I have a solar portion in my pool and just eight months ago, I had a situation with it. I was impressed with the fact that after so many years later, I called them back and they didn't treat me like they were done with me. It didn't benefit them financially at all but they were still willing to help me. I really appreciated the fact that they were receptive to whatever questions I had and they were extremely courteous. There's probably a lot of other places out there but I had a great experience with Blue Haven. Based off of my experience, others will probably do quite well with them and I would recommend them.

I had built my second pool with Blue Haven Pools & Spas. The design consultant came out, we told him what we wanted and he had some good ideas. The process design and construction process were good plus it was a smooth process. Dealing with the consultant was really good and I was really pleased with everything as far as the design went. Blue Haven also put me in contact with the people for the pool loan who I dealt with after. It took four or five weeks to complete the construction, including the time to get the permits but it was on track. We have a lot of pavers and sitting room on the pool. I really like it and was more impressed with the buildup of the land including the way it worked out.
However, I had a problem with a coordinator. I called them and they were supposed to get back with me. Two weeks later and up to this day, they have not called me back. I just put a floater in my pool because it seemed like my coordinator wouldn’t work on it so I cleaned it out. It seemed they were done with me and if I had an issue, they wouldn’t want to get back with me. I was totally pleased with everything except for a little sloppiness on the tile work with the grout. They're good but their service is lacking. Other than that, it seems to be a good product.

This is my second pool with Blue Haven and I wanted them again because of the rapport I had with their reps the first time. This time, I got a chlorine-based pool with a lazy L-shape. I had them put the handrail for getting out and a standard light in it. The design consultant, Dave, was awesome and easy to work with. He was very informative, understood what I was talking about and went in detail. He did a really good job and the pool turned out exactly what I was looking for as far as the layout is concerned. But the person in charge of setting up the dates for the construction out-and-out lied to me. I was told the workers would be out at a certain time and they didn’t come out. When I called her about it, she denied it and tried to act like I was making up dates. I was very dissatisfied with that and we didn’t get along whatsoever.
I talked to Dave and though he had nothing to do with the set-ups, he went over and straightened some things out. It was to the point that I was going to cancel the pool and go somewhere else. I also talked to the manager of the Blue Haven store and he apologized and asked for another chance. Once the steps were done, I also had a lot of issues with the work of the pool. For instance, I had stone put around the edge of the pool and it was razor sharp where they’d cut and ground it. There were all kinds of grind marks and I couldn’t even put my fingers up against it without cutting it. I told the inspector that it wasn't right and he said that it’s the way they’re done. But I didn’t have that in my first pool and I had to fight him about it. He didn’t care.
Then, when the workers started to dig, they had all kinds of excuses for not doing it on schedule like having flat tires. When they parked the equipment here, which was their idea of doing something, they drove across the neighbor’s driveway and made cleat marks on it. The guy that lives there is a renter and he was complaining about people driving on his property that he didn’t give any permission to. When I called Blue Haven, the guy in charge of the digging denied that their men drove on my neighbor’s property. I told him to come out here to look and when he did, he apologized and made sure they painted a line on the ground so their guys wouldn’t cross over. He also said he’ll have their guys scrub the driveway if there were any more problems with the landowner next door.
The guys at Blue Haven also put my water system together. I put an automatic filling and they hooked it up. The next day, the sprinklers won’t shut off. Since it was a Saturday afternoon, I wasn’t going to get anybody at Blue Haven to fix it so I ended up paying my landscaper to come out here. He took the sprinkler apart and there was a bunch of blue sealer from when the Blue Haven guys put the sealant. It got caught in the lines so the valve was shut making the sprinkler run nonstop. I told the manager of the Blue Haven store about it and he told me to send them a bill and they’ll pay for it. But I paid cash to the landscaper that does the work on the side so he didn’t give me a receipt.
With the first pool I did with Blue Haven seven years ago, I didn’t have any of the problems. When they did the first pool, I didn’t have to go out there and check. This time, I had one issue after the other and this went on from when they started building the pool until it was finished. Dave helped me out tremendously and I couldn’t ask for a better person to step outside of his job. I knew his job was to design the pool then he walks away. But he told me to call him if I had a problem and gave me his personal number. He would come out, take pictures to show people of Blue Haven what was wrong and half the time, they wouldn’t even look at the pictures.
Overall, other than the designer, I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with Blue Haven. Because my pool was not high dollar, I was less important to them and treated that way. I had to argue with their people to get them out here to see what the problem was and fix it. But I shouldn’t have been the person to do that. When everything was all done, the final product is really nice but I would never recommend Blue Haven to do another pool for anybody because of that situation. It was ridiculous and the worst.
We are very sorry to hear about your disappointment with the BBB A+ rated office in Las Vegas re: your pool construction. However—except for your designer Dave—staff appears to have dropped the ball on ensuring a smooth build process on the second pool they built for you. Our understanding is that the local office has reached out to you regarding the concerns expressed here.

They were able to actually show it with the house and the background, so it's pretty neat and we ended up adding something during the design phase. They were able to do it and then we went back and we did it again to basically just sign off on it. We're pretty happy with everything. The pool has met my expectations. We did it in the winter and construction took about two months. We didn't have any issues with the construction crew. The self-cleaning feature of the pool is my favorite. If someone is looking to build a pool, Blue Haven Pools would be the way to go.

The design process of Blue Haven was short and sweet. They didn’t go into a lot of detail but we’re happy with the outcome. I like the spa and waterfall area. However, if we had to do it again, we’d look a little closer at it. He had to make the pool on two levels of the spa, a few feet above the level of the pool because of the topography of the ground surrounding us. And I didn’t like the way the steps turned out on either side because they’re very sharp and square and somebody could fall and hit their head on them.
There is also one thing I didn’t like about them. I have an in-floor cleaning system and it was not doing a proper job. So, I called to have it looked at and they blew me off and referred me to Pinch A Penny Pools down here. Blue Haven really did not stand behind what they did. They did an alright job on my pool but I wouldn’t recommend them based on that.

Jayme was very responsive to us which was one of the reasons we selected Blue Haven. They weren’t the cheapest but they would call us back in a timely manner. I told Jamie my theory that if people wouldn’t call me back during the design, they would not call me back if we had troubles during construction. It was a very good process and Jayme was also pretty flexible. He got us a lot of plans so I kinda kept tweaking and rotating the pool around a little bit. We signed our contract a couple days early but we had to sell another home. On April 21st, we sold our home and we called them up that afternoon and told them to proceed. They kept score and counted the start of work from the day they broke ground so it’s been about six weeks. But I started my clock the day I called them so it been eight weeks.
I had disappointments during the building process but those were purely on my own side, like not really appreciating how big of an impact digging a big hole in our backyard was gonna be and not having been through that before. There was mud all over the yard. But a friend who was here over the weekend complimented Blue Haven for how little they disturbed even though it was fairly significant in my mind. But it was good. I reached out to Jayme whenever I had a question or concerns. Brent was our project manager. They’ve both been good to work with. When I had severe damage to our sprinkler system, Brent said they were gonna take care of that. That was unexpected and appreciated. The construction went very well too and there were no problems with any of the workers. They just came and went as they wanted to.
The last two weeks, one thing I really liked is that every day that something was going on, Brent called me and told me what was happening and what they were gonna do. I got this feeling they did that because we were having a couple little minor issues. Prior to that point, I would come home and observe for the first time whatever was happening. But Brent calling me today, which is not even a two-minute phone call, and telling me, “Hey, we’re not gonna go, be over today. It’s too windy. We’re gonna be here tomorrow hopefully to do this and this” really helped me out quite a bit and it really went a long way to making me feel a whole lot better. I recommend that they do that with everybody in the future.
We bought the filter they recommended and they upgraded our plaster to a type of quartz which looks really nice. We also have a heater and the UV cleaning systems which sounds nice and modern. To date, they’re not quite finished yet but they put water in the pool over the weekend. They’re starting everything up today and they’ll be done by tomorrow. I’ve been very pleased overall and they've been good to work with. I’d recommend Blue Haven to anybody and I’d be happy to be a reference for them.

I have a Hayward saltwater system and I like the PebbleTec finish on the interior of the pool made by Blue Haven. During the design process, I called them and the gentleman came out. We discussed some of the things that I chose and would like to have. He made the black and white. He was a pleasure to work with and very educated in what he did.
During construction, they gave me dates and times. They were never late and they always showed up. The contractors they sent here to work on the pool were all a pleasure. They tell me my pool would be ready on a certain date and it was ready. I was fortunate because it didn’t rain so it didn’t hold up the building of the pool. They were right on the button no matter what. What they said was happening, was what was happening. I would definitely hire them in a heartbeat if I was to build another pool.

My family has been extremely disappointed with Blue Haven Pools and Spas. Building a pool should be a very exciting time for a young family but working with Blue Haven has been a nightmare. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect for Home Owners is disgusting. Our pool was final finished and we noticed today two tiles were cracked on the focal point of the pool. We called our contractor twice and pool seller and as always, no returned phone calls. And they rarely return to emails. When we do get a call back every employee always blames their lack of communication on some personal problem. I would NEVER recommend anyone using Blue Haven. In fact, I would do anything to sway people away from Blue Haven. I would like to be led in the right direction to someone in charge so no one is ever treated like this from Blue Haven again.

The design consultant of Blue Haven did a good job but one of the things they didn’t do was stress the importance of picking your materials early. I would have picked my tile, my coping and my plaster color at the time I ordered. Although those were probably options to me, I didn’t know how important it was to do that. The tile selection that they offered is at the bottom end of the spectrum. So, we went and did glass tile and it turned out gorgeous but it’s wildly more expensive to install than to buy the tile. They will be doing themselves a favor if they sent you to the tile store before you signed your contract then everybody will know what you want to put in and the cost. If there’s an up charge, you deal with it on the front end and that would make for a smoother, more enjoyable product.
It took a month before we figured out that you cannot get a poured-in-place white concrete in Orange County and I had to go and get pre-cast concrete. It took another month before we got it. They gave me a time frame of 9 weeks but construction of the pool took 9 to 10 months. We got frustrated and wanted to get stuff done faster but it seemed there was a lack of good management. The owner of the company knows what he's doing but he is nothing more than a contractor and he is only good as his weakest sub. His office should have a tight schedule and somebody with experience to know what they’re doing. To save a nickel or a dime, the plumbing subcontractor went with Chinese made pipes and connections. I told him I didn’t want that. I wanted American made ones. At the end of the day, we got a pool that we love, but there were things that could have been better.

We went to Blue Haven’s office and they got me hooked up with one of the designers. We told him what we wanted and what I was thinking about the pool. He then came over to the house and measured the yard. He had a lot of good comments and recommendations and knew what he was talking about. He also asked us some questions and then he went back and designed us a pool. He called us and said he has some ideas so he showed everything to us on a computer. The design met my expectations 100%. I like the cascades.
The construction team then painted on the ground, brought in a big tractor and dump truck, started digging it and it all took shape. They got part of the area dug and then put up a border around it and started digging it deeper. A different crew showed up after and did fine grading, tying steel and it just really clicked. We decided to hold up just a little while on the plaster because of the weather and we left it just a little while so the weather would cooperate with us. But I'd grade with it 100%. It made absolutely good sense, just right speed and time frame. They’ve done a real good job and left the site in good shape.
I'm in construction myself and I'm a pretty picky type guy, but they answered all my questions and done everything they said they’d do and I was very pleased with them. I've recommended them several times since then. I had a couple of people start talking about pools and gave them my designer’s name, David **. And I would recommend them to anybody, family or friend. It was an excellent experience.

Everybody we have dealt with from Blue Haven Pools & Spas was fine, from the salesman to the contractors. Everything went smoothly during the construction process and it was done when they said it would be. It took about six weeks to complete the pool and they cleaned up their mess. My pool has met my expectation. I got the remote for my pool equipment and the lights at both ends that change colors were my favorite feature of the pool. They've done everything they said they would. And when we had problems with the vacuum cleaner, they gave us another vacuum. I would recommend Blue Haven. In fact, they've also built a pool for my stepbrother and a friend of mine.

When Blue Haven came, we walked through what I wanted to do. John brought his computer and he etched it all out. He was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. We talked about a few things and he showed me the design on his computer and I was satisfied with it. After that, we all agreed on exactly what we wanted and he went back and made that into a formal proposal with all of the parts broken out.
From what I saw on the internet, Blue Haven was not the most expensive nor was the least expensive. I went on to the Better Business Bureau and started looking at people's comments. I was truly leaning towards a different company, but when I read the comments, we were going to Blue Haven. Once we agreed, we went out to their store and picked the paver and tiles, everything we wanted. We put a down payment and from that point, we were put on the dig schedule which was supposed to have started in March.
But our permit came in quickly so we moved to February which was very exciting. Bob, the project manager, explained that they were going to tear up the ground and mark it all off and that it was going to look like a construction site for three months. And he was very informative from what to expect and we were actually out of town during the dig which was kind of nice 'cause we came back and it was just a big hole. So I didn't have to watch the big equipment come between the home.
They sent us a big package in the mail that showed specifically each of the processes and they call them the draw. So that first draw you pay a certain amount of money, a percentage and then this is what takes place. And then it just followed that progression in there. I would call it an innovated master plan schedule and so that happened. Anytime we had a question I would call Tracy at Blue Haven who was always very informative.
The pool took 6 weeks to build. It was dug February and we swam in our pool the second week in May when we filled it with water. It was a long process, but it was well worth the wait. There were different construction teams coming in and out. Many of them were sub-contractors but with every single crew that came in, they were all very courteous and they all cleaned up their mess on their way out. My back yard is small, but we wanted to use up as much of it that we could to get a good size pool.
The whole set up is exactly what I had envisioned. Our pool is kidney-shaped and we still have some seating area. I liked the lighting system, which change colors and is kind of a disco at night. I love their water jet and I also got the screen over. I started wondering if everything pulled together. I'm very pleased with my pool and with the process. Maintaining the pool was not a problem and my husband does it right now. At the very beginning, he called the pool man a couple times and asked them questions. He also gets the water checked quite often just to make sure we're good to go.
Overall, Blue Haven was very professional. They were easily attainable if I had any questions throughout this process. They did not leave me alone. In fact, I need to get 10 gold stars to their project lead Tracy in their main office because she's the one who orchestrates all of this. I heard a lot of very, very scary stuff about building a pool from many different people. And it's a scary thought, you're putting a lot of money to your backyard and if you pick a bad contractor you can really become frustrated. But I would use Blue Haven again and I would definitely recommend them to anybody having a pool put in their backyard.

But we liked what Blue Haven had to say and their presentation so we went with them. The people that came to our house were about the best contractors that we used. They did what they told us they were going to do and came when they said they were going to come. They also built the pool in the timeframe that they said they would. They were on top of everything and they were responsive anytime we had questions or when we think something was not right. We love our pool and our experience with Blue Haven has been wonderful.

I can't say enough good things about Blue Haven Pools & Spas and the professionalism of the crew. They were courteous and very respectful of the rest of our yard. We have top rating and if I had moved and did it again, I would go right back to Blue Haven. Everything was fabulous. Every move and every step were communicated to us. Their design consultant was on the same page that we were on. The construction process of the pool went very fast. There were no delays. Every team that came out here was very professional. We went a little bit beyond what we had originally planned when the designer came out. We added the pavers, water features and the heater which ended up to be my favorite. We also have what I called disco lighting which was with the package, and we have all the different colors. Whatever they offered in the original package was everything that we wanted which was amazing.
I had several people in the neighborhood come over and looked. We explained to them that when we decided to see how much it would cost we had Blue Haven come out, we had Liner Guys scheduled and a fiberglass scheduled after Blue Haven, which was the first one out. We cancelled the other two. We didn't want to consider them. I have told many neighbors that if they were considering which one to have, Blue Haven was the way to go. We're so pleased with them. Between the pool and all of the things that we’ve done as far as decorating, I think it looks fabulous and if they would ever want to come out and take pictures, they’re more than welcome to do that.

We vetted six different pool vendors and a lot of pricing, then Blue Haven was what we decided was the best. There were a couple of processes in the construction. We had to do a lot of papers and then stuff around the pool. There was also a little waiting period between some of the approvals to run electrical and then sometimes there's a little gap and we had to wait again. But all in all, it was a very pleasant process. They busted their butts to get it done so that we could swim in two months after we signed contracts. It was all about Gary and his crew and the way they did things. They did a good job but we never know what's going to happen afterwards so it was really neat that Gary has been able to come back out here all the time as we needed him. We enjoy our pool very much and it's been a great experience.

The construction process took about three months from the time the pool was dug. It may have been a little faster but I had to slow down in the middle. I got sick and had to go to the hospital so they stopped a little bit. The dig and the layout was easy. I did LED lighting and double waterfall and I like it all. I got everything else that we needed and the final product met my expectation. It was excellent and perfect. And when I had to call them a couple of times, they’ve been responsive. I love that they never left me hanging. I would say to a friend that Blue Haven is the best deal.

Our Blue Haven consultant was very nice, helpful, and informative. He came and looked at our yard and made drawings. The design process was wonderful. We made any changes we wanted to make and we saw it right there on screen in front of us exactly what it was going to look like. I like the shape of the pool and I love having the waterfall. We also have the colored lighting. The construction team was wonderful. They were the best contractor we've worked with on our house. When we were having trouble with the cleaner as it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do, the team came back 3 times and got everything working properly.
Building out the pool was very organized. We've got an old fixer-upper and the team was there when they said they were going to be. If I had a question, they answered it almost immediately. They were very good to work with. They came and they dug, sprayed the granite and then we chose to wait over the winter and wait till spring for the plaster. And they did the plaster, we filled the pool and maintained it the way they told us to and now we're swimming in it. Overall, the Blue Haven team was very helpful from beginning to end and we ended up with a product that we're very satisfied with. In fact, I'd tell my friends to go for it.

We have some stains in the pool right after Blue Haven put something in at the end of July last year and we talked to them about it. They said they'll take care of it but it still hasn't got cleaned. Had a roundabout conversation with them on Thursday and promised to get out to do the spots. Then we also had an issue with some filter leaking and a light not working and finally got someone out to fix the lights on Friday. They had me contact Leisure World for the leaking filter and Leisure World is coming out Thursday to fix it. We also told Blue Haven that the flagstone was flaking a lot and looked like they had put down some bad flagstones but they're not going to do anything about it so I'm going to pay extra to have somebody come out and chip away the flaking and put a sealer on it. We even mentioned it when we first got into the contract last year and that we were worried about that.
Initially, Blue Haven's process and the design were fine. Everything was agreed upon but the only concern we had was the flagstone, but everything else was fine. There were delays in the construction process. We had made our selection for the tile and the sun ledge. But when they came out to put the little tile on the sun ledge, it was terrible. So they had to come and take it off but they didn't have the same tile that we wanted, so they had to get something that was similar. So we didn't get the tile that we really wanted on the sun ledge but then again we want to make sure it was put on right this time. They had to redo it and they finally did get it open. However, we still don't have the stains cleaned in the pool and I'm not happy with the flagstones. We were very patient but I was losing my patience. We worked great with them but they haven't followed up with the promises that they made and it put a little sore spot on me right now.

During designing, Blue Haven's sales rep Joe came out and spent four hours with us. We went over the layout in the yard and he showed us everything on the computer. A week later we did all our changes and Joe sat with us and helped us out. We also got their remote which is a nice feature and the pool's maintenance is fairly low. Blue Haven has been very professional and has a great crew. I'd definitely do it again with them.

The design consultant from Blue Haven came over and looked at the backyard. He told me everything that they were going to do and how it was going to be done. He was terrific. The pool design met our expectations. They also told me who I could go to for the pool loan and gave me the phone number, the man's name and it happened. I got the best rate I could possibly get.
They dug out the hole for the pool and got that prepped. Then they got the form up for the cement, then they came in and they graded my property and then they took out all the piles of dirt from the pool. The next day, the guy came in with the backhoe and dug it all up again. It went well. However, the only problem I have with Blue Haven is that first of all their project manager or their foreman, came twice for the entire four months that it took to finish this. Every subcontractor, the one who does the papers, the one who does the removing, the screen guys, the people putting the sand down, putting in the cables and the wires, none of them cleaned up after themselves.
When they were digging, I have woods behind me and they were throwing the dirt over the fence. The cement people, when they were coming in with the cement, there was cement on the street but it's finally wearing away now. And that foreman only came to check. When I didn't have the screen up yet, they had a netting around the pool so nobody would fall in. I also had splotches and the pavers were cemented to the side of my lanai. I made a pile of all the crap that they had such as the branches and rebar. Meanwhile, I'm freighting the property in the backyard and it doesn't seem right. This is got to be my fault because I should have said something.
But other than that, I like my pool. You can lounge on the shelf and there are about six inches of water and if you don't want to get out of the pool, but you don't want to be submerged, you could just lie down right there. That's my favorite. I also have the SmartPure Ozone feature. For the whole experience with Blue Haven, I should have done more homework, should have been more aggressive and more proactive. I shouldn't have held in a lot of stuff because my thing is, don't assume anything. Overall, I am very happy with my pool.

We started talking to Blue Haven in June and we were in by the middle to later part of August. I did the design process of the pool. I drew up my own plan and Joe just made a couple of changes then he came back with the finished product. Joe was really easy to work with. He let us know what was going to happen each step of the way and have taken out all of the tiles, papers and everything. He had it all ready for us and never missed an appointment. Everything went on schedule. We didn't have a lot of rain last year so we weren't delayed by anything. They also didn't leave anything to the imagination. They let us know where there might be some delays and kept us informed all the time. The construction team took care of everything and cleaned up after themselves. They were very nice gentlemen.
The pool design absolutely met our expectations since we stayed very simple. It was just for my wife and myself so we made it easy for us. We put a little hot tub in for our personal use next to the pool. It is well connected to the pool and screened it in. It's my favorite part and the pool itself for my wife. The design process went smoothly. We had our input and Blue Haven Pools & Spas' designer did the design. We were able to make additional input to make modifications in the design and then once it was completed, we agreed to it and it all went seamless. We had about three iterations of it. The construction process went slower than we expected because of all the rain. The only other thing I would have to say is that sometimes the scheduling was a couple of weeks late because several of their crew came from Oklahoma City and it seemed like we were the stepchildren and didn’t get priority on the schedule. We were not to decide with the schedule and we weren’t happy with the delay.
They started digging in February and we were swimming in the pool on the 4th of July. We have an infinity pool which is what we wanted from the beginning and that will be my favorite part. We also got the UV. But my biggest problem was keeping algae out of it, and I think that's everybody’s biggest problem. But We were very pleased with the outcome and everything went very smoothly. Blue Haven let us know what deadlines we needed to meet in terms of payments. Their communication was always spot and it has been a very smooth and quick process for us. We have recommended them many times.
In terms of design, we were able to go out to their facility a couple of times to pick out colors and different options. They had some stuff set aside for us when we got there because they knew what our style was and what we were looking for. They were also great in giving us some advice. When you walk into the living room of the house, the hot tub is the first thing that grabs your eye. It's my favorite feature of the pool. It's raised a little higher, built up with some stacked stones and was laid out in the middle of the pool. The construction, from when the hole was dug and when the pool was ready, took six to eight weeks. We had a lot of rain during that time, but we didn't have any major delays. Dave, the design consultant from Blue Haven, met with us and asked us what we were considering with regards to the pool and what features we want. He got some initial ideas and measurements on our yard. We were uncertain whether to do a hot tub or a slide. So we discussed with him the pros and cons of both these items. And we ended up going with the design he presented to us. We made some adjustments to it as far as the slide but it was a seamless and painless process with him. He brought some paint and drew a rough drawing on our yard and helped us visualize what the end product was going to look like. He was excellent and awesome.
We paid cash for this project and the construction process was good. We had some rain, so there were some delays but the construction team went above and beyond to work around that and try to get the project completed close to the deadline as possible. They were here working everyday they could. There was never a day that there was good weather that they weren't here working.
And we worked specifically with Manny from the construction team. He was accessible to any general pool questions as far as who would we call on this and that. He kept us up to date, was easy to get a hold of by phone and email and he's been responsive as far as getting back with me. He's been great about coming out looking at any little questions or concerns we've had and making recommendations. When we had a warranty issue on the ozonator, he came out and looked at it, ordered the equipment and replaced the ozonator. He's been amazing.
Our constructed pool has special features including flaming bowls. I also like the water fall feature, where the water would spill over from the hot tub and it's relaxing. We have the OmniLogic too and with this smart feature, it makes controlling the pool, like turning it into spa, nice and easier. I can check the temperature remotely as well. Our experience with Blue Haven has been perfect and I'd tell a friend to use them.

We've moved to a farmhouse with a lot of land and we have a lot of room to work with. We had a pool from 1995 to mid-2000. We loved it but my husband didn't get in it much but my kids and I were in it every day. When we had to move away from that house and then to rental places, we really missed the fun and wanted a pool that we could dive in and a lot of people could play. So we got a hold of Gary who's the franchise owner of Blue Haven here in Birmingham area. After calling a couple of contractors, he was the first one to come out. I sent him first a few pictures to give him an idea of the property then when he got here, he was ahead of the curve and had some great ideas already. We sat down and came up with a plan on the first day so we're very pleased with his work.
They began to dig on Halloween and they took great care so they don't mess up anything that they don't need to. And before long, they were putting the rebar down. We noticed he was putting a lot down and he went above and beyond what code would need so we feel really safe knowing that this is not from a standoff. They did the spray in concrete called Quikrete Shotcrete and got that all figured out. A lot of work had to be done with the coping, but he has an amazing set of crews that worked for him. We had blocks that had to be cut and it's very unique looking. The pool was one of the free forms but we wanted a very deep end and it has that tanning ledge in the shower room and a hot tub that spills over which is common now but we went larger and it's 42,000 gallons.
And because we wanted a diving rock, he put in that feature along with slide and grotto that were spilling over and it's really pretty. There are others out there similar, but I feel like ours is special. I like the waterfalls and it makes me feel at peace hearing all that. The lights are really cool because we've had a pool before but it's been several years and back then it wasn't LED and multi-color or could dance around. Our pool was completed on May 10th so it went well past the projected due date. Gary kept apologizing over and over because it was running late and it came down to the blue color paint or fiber glass, something to do with the manufacturer and it was back ordered. But Gary has been very caring about everything he touched and made sure it was all done correctly.

I really enjoyed the design process with Blue Haven Pools & Spas. I initially had Gary come out to the site and he did a little bit of measurement and prep work. But, the computer design that we did twice with Eme was great. I love the visualization that came with the program she worked with. We put in ideas to the design to be able to see it in real life and it helped us to decide. However, I wish we had incorporated a look of the screen in the pool because we had two different contractors. It would have helped us to see the screen in three-dimension so we could have voted in one of the things I didn't like about the screen. But, she was knowledgeable and professional. We were able to bounce ideas back and forth with them. We had a number of revisions until we got where we needed to be. When spending that kind of money, it's great to have a clear idea of what you get.
The construction process was comparatively well because the construction of my home went a little bit slow. The construction of the pool took about six weeks to complete. Blue Haven jumped in and everything they said they were going to do they did. If they missed something because of the weather or whatever reason, their rep was great to communicate what happened and what was next. It was the shining bright light in the midst of our very long construction process. They were accurate about the time frame of the construction too. They'd hope that a few things might have gone quicker but it went over Christmas and New Year and it went as expected.
One of the things that I noted during construction was that there was no drain in the pool itself. It was in the hot tub. This was before the concrete was in when they were hooking the piping. I've owned and rented homes with three different pools and they always had deep end drains. I pointed that out to their rep. He looked into it and said that it was something they don't do in Florida per code. But, it looks like in the current pool they're building in the neighborhood they're going to have a drain. That's the only thing I felt I got a whitewashed answer because they didn't want to have to go back and do work.
The spa spilled over into the pool and I got a fountain as well. The pool is automated and I got a remote that controls the drain valves and all those other stuffs. I love that the read out tells me the salt level which is something I could never figure out before besides going to a pool store. So far it has been awesome for maintaining the pool. It keeps the chemistry balanced.
I also discovered after moving that our lights were on the remote. It was a cool system that let you change the color of the LEDs. You can also turn them on and off. But, it was almost impossible to make that work with the remote. The remote was too slow. It doesn't work with the remote but as part of my pool and when I had the house built, I wanted a separate light switch for the pool. So I have one that works and I can do what I want. Blue Haven has been efficient, communicative and they did excellent construction. I would say to our friends that we had a good experience but that was us. So, do your research and be careful.

Had a very pleasant interaction with Gary from Blue Haven. He came over and showed some pictures of some previous pools that he had done then he drew for us one picture that we had in mind and we liked it and went with it. He is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about the product. Blue Haven didn't arrange a pool loan for us since we already had financing for it. Then Blue Haven informed us that they could start the construction in about two or three months.
When they started, the construction team showed up every day. If they weren't able to show up, they would call me and let me know why and they were pleasant to deal with. Gary would text letting us know what they're doing, every time someone is out, exactly how long the construction will take and the next process. They got the job done and did it right. From the time they dug the pool, it took them a month to finish the construction of the pool. In the pool they made, there’s colored LED lighting and a little splash pad or sitting area. It also has a sunbath sitting area which is my favorite feature of the pool. It has been an outstanding experience overall and we've referred a couple of different people to Blue Haven.

The design process was wonderful and we couldn’t have asked for a better process. The design was very clear and it is what we had in mind. Our Blue Haven rep, Greg, delivered and made additional suggestions which made our design even better. He is easy to work with, straightforward and knowledgeable. And we couldn’t be happier and had our neighbors mimic our design. The storm in California delayed the construction process for a few days and we needed to reschedule. It was still delivered on the time that was promised even with the rescheduled date.
The construction process took a month or two and when we started from the design to construction to Pool School, where they teach us how to use the equipment, we were on schedule. We like everything about our pool; the swimming lane, the waterfall and the area where my mom and kids can just wade. At the deeper end we have two benches, a cover preventing the bugs and all the little things to come out. We have a chloride generator, salt water, solar. Working with their design consultant had been wonderful. Construction went very smoothly too. We got really lucky with the weather and it only took about five weeks from start to finish. We're just having a bit of trouble with our papers but they were also very good with the follow-up. They even came back to work on something and we've had no problems with it. Our pool has the bubbler and the tanning ledge. Plus, we also have three of those things that shoot water into the center. We had an absolutely wonderful experience. If a friend asked me, I'd tell them to go with them, definitely.

Blue Haven’s design consultant, Mike was very knowledgeable about different pools and what worked. We then went with them because he proposed to put the auto cover in, instead of putting a fence around the perimeter. We didn't want a fence, because it would impede our site vision. He also had great ideas about materials that work together. And he tipped us on doing the interior in a darker color that would match the marsh water when it comes up. So, you kinda see that it was like an infinity pool, but you kinda get that sense still. So, I thought they were very, very awesome when it came to these things. Blue Haven also gave us the name of the guy that helped us put all the money to fund our extremely expensive pool. He was an independent guy that Mike had worked with before. And he was fantastic. He was super knowledgeable about setting up a loan and it wasn't very painful at all.
During construction I've learned that when you live on an island in Florida, everything happens super slowly. Blue Haven though were great about communicating that. Even with the delays I didn't feel like I was left in the dark. I think they had a project manager assigned to the team that was great and a scheduling person in the office who is always available. They are always very responsible which was fantastic. There was always someone to talk to and someone to explain what was happening. Especially, towards the end when we’re having issues with the auto cover. It had to all fit in line, so all must be set before the cover came in. Something with that schedule component took longer, but the cover turned out fantastic. It's been great 'cause it keeps a lot of stuff out when you're not using your pool.
I would definitely recommend talking to them and getting a quote. Their innovation and design and their keeping up to speed and what's the latest really helped a lot. When we had some issues with some pipes that weren't installed properly and we had leakage, they came out and fixed it. Blue Haven was great when it came to the warranty work and coming back out and fixing that. They were on top of it, which to me is definitely worth the extra money and the peace of mind having that, than going with some cheaper outfit just because the pool is less expensive.

Our experience with Blue Haven has been good. We had a couple issues but nothing that was horrible. Being a new pool builder, they never suggested to install a vacuum port so I had to put in a vacuum later on. Now, I have to run it through the skimmer. If I ever want a vacuum port, I would have to tear out everything to put one in. It was a very easy $200 extra install that would now cost me an arm and a leg to do. I always suggest to my friends that are building pools to make sure that they ask that question.
The screen was the most frustrating part of all. The screen company that Blue Haven hired took five weeks to get everything done. I'm still waiting on them to come out and seal around the edges and it's been four weeks since I told them about that. If I were to do it again, I would definitely hire my own screen company. But I couldn't blame Blue Haven because in their perspective, they hired this company and put it up to them to satisfy me. And when it was in a bad situation, Blue Haven put the pressure on them to get out there. Otherwise, the building of the pool went very smoothly. Most of the contractors were very polite and were willing to explain what they were doing every time.

We're building a two-family house for a condo project and we wanted a rectangular pool over there. Blue Haven pools came in with the lowest price and they were accommodating in terms of making the pool happen. They came out, dug a hole, and put in the granite, coping and tile. We also had them put some waterfalls in. Since we were building over there as well, it took us a while to get electricity. And so, Blue Haven wasn't able to get the pump running. Nevertheless, I was happy with the process and it went relatively quickly and smoothly.
Since the installation, the waterfall has been my favorite feature. There is also this shallow shelf to put benches in. It's a little space to sit in where you're in the water but it's not over your head. Rafael from Blue Haven helped us figure out how to put the benches in and helped us with the design of the shelf. The pool is not long enough to swim laps and so it's for people who sit in the pool and cool off. Overall, Blue Haven did a nice job and got the pool turned around quickly.

The design consultant from Blue Haven came over and talked about what we were looking for and then got back with us with drawings. He was helpful and listened to what we wanted, but he didn’t always do what we wanted. He cautioned us against doing other things that we had planned and gave us good reasoning behind it. Dealing with the financing team went smoothly. I filled out papers, sent them back and everything was done in a timely manner. Also, the construction process went smoothly and was done in two months. There was some miscommunication between the type of waterfall that was supposed to be there and what was gotten, and getting that sorted out caused some delay in our time schedule. They had to cancel us and our job got pushed behind others.
Something that stood out was when they came and did the layout, we had to tweak a couple of the edges to get it to fit where we wanted it to. The guy who was laying out the pool was more than helpful to assist us. There was some confusion as to how far the concrete was going out and what plants needed to be pulled up but everything was fixed. The construction team were all nice dudes who showed up, did their job and left.
I wanted a pool with water six-feet deep and I’m sure the pool is six feet to the top of the concrete, but the water’s six inches below that, so it’s only five and a half feet. That was a little misconceiving. Otherwise, I would’ve went with another foot deeper. I'm six-foot four and when I’m standing in the deep end, the water only comes up to my shoulders. Technically a six-foot deep pool should submerge up to my eyeballs. Overall, the quality of the pool and everything that we went through was a pleasant experience and everything was done perfectly to drawing. There were quite a few smart features and the little cleaner they gave us is pretty good.

The construction of the pool took a little bit longer and some of the tiles break apart easily. The installers went through the side of the yard and the neighbor wasn't happy. I had to fix the neighbor's pipes exit, their yard, drainage and change their grass. It cost me more than $3,000. The pool is fine but Blue Haven's service wasn't great. They didn't resolve it and anything I call about is not in the contract. I told them they made a mistake and they messed up something. I also emailed them but nobody responds.
I've never had a pool built before and the construction manager should know if their pump is across somebody's window or something that's going to be an issue. They should suggest me to put it somewhere else. At first when they came in with the design, the guy put it up somewhere else and he said if I wanted to change it, I can tell the construction manager. So I put it on the side of the yard and the lady neighbor wasn't happy because I didn't know it was going to be this loud. Right now, it seems to be okay because she hasn't complained again. I put up the fence but it was stressful. I wish I went with the first company because they told me straightforward they would fix the grass and if there were any issues, they would take care of it. But I went with Blue Haven because it was a little bit cheaper but they're not very customer-friendly.

The representative from Blue Haven came and I laid out what I wanted for my pool. He pretty much draw the design and submitted it for me. Everything was handwritten and done from scratch. So it was step-by-step and he was a pretty good and nice guy. Blue Haven also helped me with my pool loan. A third party company is doing the financing but it's great. The interest is high but I can't complain. Then during the construction process, their team had open access to my yard. At the beginning, it was delayed for three months because of the bad weather and rain but they started doing the pool back in June. They were done with it in about three weeks. They had difficulty when they were digging into the hole because it wasn't all dirt. It was pure rock that they were trying to dig out and I had to pay more for that.
It's a simple pool with a rock feature around the edge of the pool. I have the cartridge filters which I really don't like. They're a pain in the butt and it's better to put one of those sand ones with the dirt. It will be a lot easier for cleaning and maintenance while these are too difficult. But overall, time and everything was done to the expectations so my experience with Blue Haven has been pretty straightforward. They've been excellent and I'll recommend them.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They take your deposit, then go ghost. Ask questions about why the costs are, what was projected and get "That was just an estimate". Everything other than the pool contract is additional and done by fly by night contractors, should they ever show up. Ask questions and you get screamed at, hung up on, threatened and then ignored. If this was a marriage you would be able to get a restraining order from the abuse. Trust me, they don't care about you. Find someone who does please.
We are sorry to hear that you are so unhappy with service from the Virginia office. Across the Capitol District, thousands of homeowners enjoy their Blue Haven pool; the local team strives to make each client happy, and unfortunately, it is clear that they were unable to do the same for your family. We understand that the local team provided a couple of make-good items for the delay, corrected all items on the punch list, and that your pool construction is now complete and the final inspections were approved last week. As you have raised several concerns about your experience, a senior executive will be following up with the local office in greater detail about the matter to more fully understand what occurred.

The first company I worked with did a poor job to me. I cut date and even lost some money getting rid of them when I moved over to Blue Haven who helped me to get back on track and right the ship. I already had the engineering and all the good stuff done and Blue Haven even did a second topography for me at no charge based on the fact that I had one done but the other company was giving me a hard time about releasing it even though I fired them and thought I owned the engineering plans.
Pools are not fun projects but Dominic who was the salesperson I was working with was very helpful and always available. He was there every time there was work being done and was on site to meet me and go over everything. He remained available to me even after the project's been done for almost under a year now and I even go talk to him just days ago asking questions about the pool. We came in under budget from what I wanted so the time moves quickly outside of having to wait when the town has to come out and do the inspections. For the money I saved, I still saved enough with the loss to the other company. Everything they promised was delivered. The pool was all amazing and everybody who comes over our house loves it and says how breathtaking it is. I've recommended them to two friends already.

We scheduled an appointment with Blue Haven Pools & Spas. They came over and I told them what I wanted. Then our design consultant, Ed, drew up the plan and everything went well from there. I checked out a few different pools and companies and Blue Haven's cost was great. However, what I didn't get was a light in the spa but we resolved that when they were doing construction, though towards the end I didn't get the air bubbler in the spa. Other than that, it was explained to us really well and everything else was self-explanatory. Moreover, the interactions with their construction team couldn't have been any better. Everything was awesome. The whole aspect of the financing was very good too. We went to Legacy Texas Bank and people were great there.

My experience with Blue Haven has been excellent. They did everything I asked them to do and were willing to change it at any point in time. We ended up paying cash. It took eight weeks to do the pool. We wanted it done by Memorial Day and they got it done by then which was a big deal. That was the year that we had all the hail and a ton of rain. They would have been done in a month if not for that. Nevertheless, they were on schedule even through the hailstorm and the rain. If there was a delay they would call us and give us a heads up ahead of time.
Their construction team did everything they needed to do and they were quick. However, we had mud on the driveway. I called them and said that they left a bunch of mud out. And they were back within an hour to clean everything up and went all about their business. Their smart features were great because we're able to control it through our phone. I'm in a wheelchair so it makes it beyond better that I don't have to go all the way around. Everybody there was great. Their superintendent made sure all the jobs are going great. It's been a year since we've had it built and he's been back two or three times to make sure that I knew what I was doing and that we didn't have any problems. Overall, it was a great experience. We get what we paid for and we're extremely pleased with everything they did.

The Blue Haven's rep was a super nice guy. He was recommended to me by another friend of mine that had used their services and I really liked his style. He was very straightforward. He knew pools very well and he got the idea that I wanted for the pool in my backyard so I decided to choose them and I paid cash for it. He worked with me on different ideas, pricing and what I needed for the pool. He did an excellent job and I felt comfortable with him. The construction team was right on schedule through the entire process and I was extremely impressed. It was under 45 days and my construction rep that was assigned to it was always available. I asked a bunch of questions and he always had really good answers for them. He really worked well with us.
I added a heater, air conditioning system and a sun tanning area. I wanted a basic pool and I wanted a hole in the ground and put water in it. We looked at adding a remote control system but I had talked to other friends that had pools and had those systems on it, and they tended to be somewhat problematic. So, I can now walk around the corner and touch the panel and get everything done. We're enjoying it every day. I was really impressed with everybody at Blue Haven from beginning and end. They really took great care of me and I recommended them to several other people. I know another one of my friends has already used them for a pool as well and they're having a great experience too. I highly recommend them. It was down between them and one other pool company in my area after I talked to five of them, and I was really happy I made my decision to go with Blue Haven.

Blue Haven did an excellent job. It's the third pool that I've done with them. The design process looked simple and went smoothly. First, there were calls from the cellphone, then their rep came out and designed the pool. He also helped us pick out one that worked for our budget and size. Blue Haven met all our expectations design-wise. They also listened to our needs. We also got a light system and automatic chlorinator.
Blue Haven finished our pool construction in 10 days. I couldn’t believe it but from the day it was dug out, it took them 10 days to finish up. This is why I have a real good taste in my mouth. I work in the home inspection business and I worked with board inspectors and there's a lot of bad reviews about Blue Haven. A lot of people don't like the company, but I was totally impressed about everything they did. I’m also happy with the price. You get what you pay for. Communication was good too. I’ve got the phone numbers of the construction manager to the general manager of the local office and they were on top of everything. They always called before they show up.

I would recommend Blue Haven Pools & Spas all the time. I had them built my pool and it was all good. The design process was a very easy one. A salesman came and drew everything up the night he came to the house. I was amazed at how quickly he got to where I wanted to be with the design. He was also very helpful. Blue Haven was very reassuring, too, because there were stages where I was not sure of and they would tell me, "Once you see it finished, you're going to like it." And it was everything they said it was going to be. The construction team beat the schedule they told us last year. They were two or three weeks early. They gave us enough timeline to work with. They underpromised and overdelivered, which is a good thing. Everyone who came out here were very respectful and did a great job as well. The pool they built definitely met all my expectations.

We had the Blue Haven representative come out to our house and give us a rough estimate for a pool. He also came up with the designs and it was the best design for our backyard. Then, we went into the office a few times to add things and finalize the little things that we wanted. Also, financing was pretty easy. He applied for financing on a Friday and then on Monday, they had already approved him and everything was good. Then, they went back to Blue Haven, finalized things, called us and told us that we were approved. The construction was pretty cut and dry but it was supposed to be six weeks that turned into eight weeks because there were some rainy weeks in there. But they did the excavation and they did everything in order that the paperwork said that they were going to do. Everything seems to be just fine.
We love the waterfall and we really like the shape of the pool. We also have a big tanning ledge on it and we really like that part. Also, they sold us on this robot vacuum cleaning thing and we’re not too keen on that. That’s not our favorite thing. We thought it was going to be great and wonderful but we wish we have something else at this point. It was too bulky and doesn’t really get everything. But at this point, it’s too late to change anything because we don’t have a filter. Other than that, everything’s good. They were good, really easy to work with and were able to give us exactly what we wanted and our price range. Also, they were happy to do any changes that we wanted during the process. They were really good to work with and we definitely recommend them.

Blue Haven's design consultant came out to the house twice and we met with them at his place. We changed the design a couple of times based on what we thought we wanted. He accommodated every idea we had and came up with a great design. The construction took a while but that was part of our deal because we agreed that they could start in the winter and do what they could. It started before Thanksgiving and our yard was really torn up until the end of April. The delays were due to weather and cold. There were times, a month or so, that nothing was happening but we knew that because that was part of the arrangement. The pool costs more than what we wanted to pay but it's great.
We have the plaster and the remote as add-ons but we don't have those yet. However, I don't know how the plaster would make a difference and the remote is just so I can put something up around the pool equipment and I don't have to see it all the time. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommended them to somebody else who was also looking so I gave them our design guy's name and the company name and his contact information.

Blue Haven’s design process was easy and quick, and their pricing was excellent. Mitch, who was one of the six people that we had from Blue Haven, designed the pool on site. His design was great. The walk-through was good. The only thing that they could probably improve on is the communication between the contractors and Blue Haven. They were going to shorten our patio. I went out to speak to the guys working on the patio. They were all Spanish speakers and my wife speaks Spanish. The younger guy came over and I told him, “Here’s the master design diagram and it’s supposed to extend further. You stopped right here and then just doing some weird, lost shape.” So he called, got approval, and extended it. And he said, “You’re right. In the copy that we had showed, it has to be shorter. But you’re absolutely right on your copy. It’s correct.”
I am also doing a warranty request because the water was draining. Gary stopped by and he said, “No, do the drain. Your whole thing would be flooded.” But my neighbors talked to me yesterday and said, “Hey, when you have a pool, is my side supposed to always be wet?” I said, “No.” I want to make sure the pool is not leaking. Then the other issue I have is about Blue Haven’s contractor who did our irrigation system. That particular person contacted my wife and said he does landscaping too. He gave her a card. When she called him to come out and check on the landscaping, the guy never showed up. One time, he said he was hired by somebody. The next time, he said it was his birthday and he forgot. My wife took off work twice and he didn’t show up.
Since I didn’t understand the guy’s relationship to Blue Haven, I called them about it. And then a week and a half ago, the guy who owned the irrigation company was yelling at my wife. Since I specialize in consumer affairs, when Blue Haven called me, I told them, "Okay, I can handle this one in two ways. One, I can handle it in the backyard because the guy’s yelling at my wife or two, I’ll contact these guys before I take it any further because I am worried as well.” And Mitch was great. He calmed the situation down. The landscaping guys miscommunicated. They told us that they have messed up our irrigation system and that we didn’t have the right number of heads. They promised us some whole heads slammed out there. So as far as all that goes, everything was working. We never got an apology from the other guy, though.
Another part that I was concerned about is when we’re supposed to receive a chlorinator originally and it wasn’t on. So Blue Haven had to call the plumbers back out for them to add the inline chlorinator. But other than these issues, Blue Haven was pretty decent anytime I talk to them. They were very fast in creating our custom concrete pool. I love the pool’s design, the patio, and the recommendation they gave for the patio. I was bragging on Blue Haven’s timeliness and how everything looked to my next door neighbor. He got a pool and he was comparing. He paid way more than I did and mine was better than his. I would definitely recommend Blue Haven to someone, however, we’ll still have to see how the warranty request I made is handled.

At first, we wanted to do one design and then we changed because we wanted to move the pool to the back. It ended up okay but there was a point when we got other bids and I told the sales rep that we will no longer use Blue Haven. He then said, “Please give us another chance.” The whole problem since we started with them is the landscaping guy. He's horrible. He's such a liability but they keep using him. He called me one day because we needed to do some landscaping as it was part of the deal. He said, “Well, you contracted me.” I said, “No. The deal was that we would go with Blue Haven to use you but you're under the supervision of Blue Haven’s sales rep.” I did contact our sales rep whenever there was an issue and he dealt with it as he said.
In the property that we bought, you could not plant any trees up against the wall. There was an easement so we bought large concrete plots and planted trees in the pots. The irrigation had to go through the pots. Then Blue Haven did all the cement and they put in the pumps. They did the pool. They also had a guy that put the gate in and he was terrific. It worked well and they did a good job.
When we landscaped, if anything happens to the irrigation, there's a warranty. So when two of our trees were dying, I tried to call the landscape contractor and he said, “Oh, I'm going to have to replant everything. It's going to cost you time.” When I told my husband, he said, “Forget it. I'm going to do it myself. Just don’t call them anymore.” So my husband did it. The landscaper failed to show up at three different appointments. I had to take off work and I kept telling my husband, “Well, it's warranted. Why don’t we just call them?” But he said, “No. I don’t want that guy at my house anymore.” So if it wasn’t for the landscaper, the company was wonderful.
When we went to go into another bid, it was with their competitor, Desert Springs, which was recommended by my realtor. When they gave us the bid, it was for the whole thing including landscaping and the gate. I told the sales rep from Blue Haven that it was the other reason why we wanted to go with Desert Springs. So the Blue Haven rep accommodated us and helped us along. That's why I love our sales rep. He’s wonderful, but we're looking at the whole picture. I also love working with the construction supervisor, Jeff. So the only complaint I had was with the landscaping guy. Everybody else was fabulous and the whole process ended up being a good thing. Not just the pool but also the whole yard in our home and the landscaping. So I would recommend Blue Haven but I would tell people who go to them, “Don’t use the landscaper. Get your own.”

I was always having to constantly call and say, "Are we on the books for today? What's going on?" I could never get any update.
I would definitely recommend Blue Haven but one has to stay on top of them to get any type of feedback and know what they're doing when they're doing it. One part of our pool backs up to a 5-foot utility easement so they couldn't do decking on that side and were supposed to build up a wall but it didn't end up in the plans. They did the flagstone around it but the wall feature that we thought we were getting wasn't what we got.

We had several companies come out and because of the design consultant from Blue Haven, we were convinced to go with them because we told him what we wanted and immediately he said he couldn’t do it at the price we want. That was different because everybody else was like, “Yeah, we can do that.” It didn’t seem legitimate. Construction was promised at eight weeks and we did it within four. Every step was pretty professional.
The only thing is when the pool was finished, they told us we had to brush it for 10 days to get the excess plaster off. We’ve been brushing it but the plaster’s not brushing off like it’s supposed to. It’s been maybe a month. The one guy who came to show us how to work the equipment was real quick about it. We don’t know one thing from the other. He said to call him and he’ll answer our questions. We called him almost about an hour or two after he left but he didn’t answer. After the weekend, Blue Haven called us and said Dwayne told them that we called him and we have questions. In other words, Dwayne didn’t make the time to call us back. Blue Haven told me what to do but we’re still really confused about how to run the equipment and what not to do.
This weekend I called three of Blue Haven's contacts. Nobody answered ‘til this morning. Gary called and said if they go out here again, it’s going to cost me $200 or $250 and that we signed the paper. I didn’t even tell him about the broken cement plate they put because I was so upset. After paying $37000 for this pool, they’re not going to show me how to work it. But Gary agreed to come by if he's in the area.

The design process with Blue Haven was pretty smooth. Mike integrated our ideas with his. Some worked, some didn't. He made the adjustments that we wanted and he wasn't too pushy on what he wanted. Instead, he listened to what we wanted and that's what we got. We paid cash for the pool. They kept us informed of the time schedule and any adjustments that needed to be made with the schedule, we were informed prior to construction, which took six weeks.
However, I'm not happy that when we added a pool heater to it, we were not informed as to how much propane it would take to run it. So, we haven't even connected the heater. Also, as I was scrubbing the pool yesterday, I noticed that there was an area around the ledge where the flagstone is. I'm not sure if it's the weight of a flagstone that's causing it but it is already separated from the concrete. I was gonna give Blue Haven a call so they could come out and inspect it. Other than those issues, I've recommended them to a friend and I know one who had a pool completed by them.

The construction process took eight weeks. During our initial interaction with the construction team, we made sure that the perimeters were established and then we had minimal interaction with the actual person doing the work. We had weather issues but that’s to be expected with construction. They communicated very well with us at that time. Plus, the follow-up service and maintenance post-construction has been excellent. We saw a rep from Blue Haven and we had several iterations regarding the design until we signed basically the contract. The design part was not the best experience we had. The rep was more interested in signing the contract than explaining to us and advising us with the best. We talked to the guy and he came to the house to measure them. The first survey was wrong so we had to redo the measurements. We met the guy four or five times and after that, the process of digging the pool started.
The construction went well. There were some particular parameters here regarding access to the lot so they did as planned and as designed. It was a bit difficult because the lot is quite small and we are cornered by easements all the time. So the deal was to squeeze the pool on the small lot between the easements or the gas, electricity and the cable. We started roughly mid-January and ended early April. We more or less had good weather but it was pushed back one or two times due to weather or due to a gas line that has to be or reset somewhere. We lost 10 days or at least two weeks due to the fact that we have to reroute the gas line and it depends on the pool people. But overall, the construction went fine.
There was a variety of contractors – some were excellent and some were not as excellent as the others. I needed to be behind them all the time because they can do something really stupid very quickly. That was something worth noting especially with the flagstone, if you’re not on their back, they put anything anywhere. I'd know if it’s against a good logic but I was here all the time so maybe it was not a love affair between us. But we managed to get what we wanted and something important is that the superintendent supervised the work. The guy was absolutely excellent. He was here to supervise, correct and lead the teams. Most of them didn’t speak English and he was able to speak to them in Spanish. So that was a good experience.
However I was a bit disappointed that the sales rep wasn't more advising or offering options. We said we wanted a pool that's not cheap but not expensive. At least he could have given us an idea of what is there. He’d tell us a minimum, which ends up with some surprises. We said we wanted a relatively big staircase in the pool and he always said, “Yes.” But at the end, when the guy started to build the stairs, it was only 2-feet wide so it was a big deception. But the superintendent was able to modify that and gave us bigger stairs as originally planned. So I would say that the blank point is more the rep. He was not speaking enough with the design period. In fact, on the last meeting, we were feeling in his voice that he was pissed off with our questions on this and that and that we need to start on the pool now. We knew that he was fired after and I'm sorry about that but he definitely needs improvement.
But overall, we have a very good product and all the rest is good. The pool was absolutely basic with the usual stairs and a small place where you can sit down which is more like a safety thing. The only extra we had is the multicolor light. We also have the sole system and this automation panel. Then, I bought myself the YLS unit to pilot that from home and it is great. I like that a lot. It was not very happy with the system and the pool by itself but it seems to work like a charm. All that is done and is working perfectly. The superintendent walked us through a course on how it works and he was responsive when I had questions so that the pool is running. Everything is fine, for now, and I'm very happy. I would recommend the company.

I had three different vendors come out and give me some designs, bids and pricing and they sat down and talked with me. Blue Haven went to the county office in which I'm in to make sure that they had all the zoning right, and the two other prospects didn’t know much about the zoning and never took the care to go over there and find out. Blue Haven knew exactly where, what was appropriate for zoning in my area and what would and what wouldn’t pass permitting whereas the other one, we have to go in front of a board and protest. With Blue Haven, it was quick. They came in, took my idea, went to their offices, came back with an entire presentation, laid everything out and explained to me all the various different pieces of the design and what would and wouldn’t be acceptable in my township, so we went from there. It's very simple.
They told me the week they were going to start. They came out and dug the hole. Unfortunately, we had a downpour the next day, so we had to deal with the weather. As they went through the process, they were keeping me mostly informed of what was going on. There were a few times when I felt I needed to know more information. I was reaching out saying, “Hey, what's the next step?” You have that anticipation when the pool foundation is in. “Okay. It's been drying now for a week. What's next?” It was purely because of the way the weather patterns were and the most difficult thing for any new pool owner to understand when they're building is how the weather impacts the build. It was more of me understanding what steps were next, than it was Blue Haven. The construction process went fairly as planned and lasted for sixty days.
They had originally set out the expectation upfront that it would be around 8 to 12 weeks to build, so they broke ground at the end of April and based on weather and other factors, it was completed the end of June. My construction project manager was one of the most knowledgeable people that I'd had interactions with. He was good at explaining things like the foundations, what we are doing, how it was being laid out and why things were set the way they were. He explained the process multiple times when I inquired. He gave me his number to call anytime I had any questions or inquiries. He was fantastic and a great individual to work with. He used his knowledge and expertise to help me understand what was going on and how the pool was gonna work. He was very thorough and attentive to detail.
I just wish I had a bigger lot, but the way it’s laid out and based on zoning, there were certain things that we couldn’t do, so I'm pleased with what I have based on what pool design was available for my lot size. I was set at the very beginning and knew exactly what I wanted. I have the limestone coping which is fantastic. I have laminar jets which are like waterfalls, but they're jets that shoot water into the pool. They extended the deck and put a little knee wall in to add more depth to it, so all of those things turned out very well. All in all, it was a fantastic and great experience.

Our builder partners with Blue Haven on a lot of pools so they were recommended to us. While they're building the home, we could do Dig and Hold, which was a great feature. We went and met with Blue Haven’s designer and she had the specs for our yard and house and how it would sit in the lot. She did a 3D imaging that would show us different ways we could lay the pool out to maximize the backyard the best and it shows different shapes and materials. She was wonderful and knowledgeable. She spent a lot of time with us and gave us some good suggestions on the best layout. She knows where to go and see all the products, tiles, flagstone and different things that we ended up choosing. It was a few visits in person and we were able to see it very well before we said yes. We were building the house at the time and Blue Haven also got all the paperwork that the mortgage company needed so they could be part of the mortgage.
Once the Dig and Hold was done, we’re closing our house and we could go ahead and start, I was contacted by Blue Haven and was given a schedule of who would be here, when they would be here, what happens for second and third and what I needed to do to prepare the yard before they got here. They let me know if someone was coming. They would show up, do their job, clean up after themselves and then I would get the title company to release that check for that piece of the work and then they would move on to the next phase. It was very smooth and everyone showed up when they were supposed to and did a really nice job. We were very blessed and things got moved up a number of times which was awesome. We just had a big party here this past weekend and they finished last week. It was perfect.
The pool is custom shaped and there's a waterfall coming out of the hot tub. A back wall was raised up from the pool that’s tiled to make it look different, a little more custom and my entire backyard is pavers. They did that work too. And they recommended a landscaper who also finished last week and some cool features. They recommended some things I had never heard of before for the pool that made it a better pool experience. There are these jets that pop up from the floor and the stairs that push water and push the dirt towards the main drain, so I don’t have to vacuum or have one of those creepy crawly things in the pool all the time.
We were expecting the construction to take three full months but it took only two and a half. They moved a few things up and took good care of us. The woman at Blue Haven, Elaine made it all happen. She cared and she knew I was stressing about this party that we were having. My backyard was a disaster and right now in Las Vegas, everyone wants their pool done. I'm sure lots of people had parties but she acted like she cared about my situation and she made sure she scheduled as soon as she possibly could with everything and worked magic. And the construction crew were all nice and did a good job. Blue Haven felt like a family-owned company rather than a big corporation. I have the cellphone number of sales, the designer and his son who works at the place too. I text him a few times when needed and he was very responsive. I’d tell a friend to go with Blue Haven and that they did a great job.

The gentleman from Blue Haven came to our house and we walked through the design. He drew it up then we met at Blue Haven and went over what tiles we wanted to choose and the lining of the pool color. Then their financing people helped arrange a pool loan for us and they were very attentive. We did the basic pool and the construction process went well. They taught Chris everything and let him know everything that was going on as he was more at home when it was going on but everything seemed on point when they were saying deadlines.

When we had our pool made by Blue Haven, we had the design process with their salesperson and design team. We picked out the pool, got the quote, and the pool was already designed before I decided to move forward with them. They gave us a referral to a couple of banks. We ended up going with one of those since the bank that they recommended ended up being the best priced. It was a seamless and an efficient process. Construction has been fabulous and they finished early. They delivered everything that they said they would in time, and the people were wonderful. Everything was great.

I originally contacted Blue Haven at a different house. We lived somewhere else and a couple of different people gave us bids. But we liked the design expert Pat so much that we decided not to put the pool at that house and move to a different property. When we moved, the only person we called was Blue Haven because we knew we wanted them to do the job. Pat came back out, looked at our property and told us what design would fit nicely with the way our yard flows. We really enjoyed working with him.
Then the construction went great. They did it right alongside our homebuilder so we had the whole yard torn up. We have a lot of fixing because of the way the contractor had to access the property. We knew that we would benefit from building the house and the pool at the same time. We waited to do it as we didn’t wanna tear up what we had already made perfect at the other house.
We're happy with the suggestions they gave us. They told us to pump up our heater. Then we told them what we wanted to do with our pool and how we would use it and they suggested the heavy-duty gas heater, and we're delighted with the way it operates and performs. We did the ozone filter and the little chlorinator refill has been very easy to maintain. Then we thought to cut out some extras and did not do the remote as it was something that can easily be added later on.
During the process, Bill was our foreman for the whole project and he was really easy to work with, friendly, and continued to meet all of our needs and expectations. We were really thrilled watching them build it and knowing the contractors that they selected were the best in the St. Louis area. The only other thing I would say to anybody looking to put a pool in a yard is it definitely tears up the rest of the property. If anybody was interested in doing one, yup, it makes a mess, and yup, you just got to clean that up too when it's all done. That’s part of pool building with any contractor. As for us, we've had a very positive experience and we love everything they Blue Haven did for us. In fact, we've recommended them to a friend and they used them too.

I sat in Blue Haven Pools & Spas' office and they designed everything on a computer. The design consultant and I would verbally go back and forth and make changes. They came out and they spray painted the pool outline on the grass. If I wanted to make any changes, I can make them. They also introduced me to the supervisor of construction and they did it in a very timely manner. On the first day of digging, he thought that the design was bad for the shape of the yard so he made a change right there on the spot. It was a great change and I'm very happy that he did it. He was very responsive and was excellent. The construction process took about three months. They never lagged and they were always moving on it. If there were any delays, it wasn’t anything that hit my radar. Overall, Blue Haven did a good job and I like the little waterfall over the spa. It was a good experience and I would recommend them.

They decide to NOW let me know that I have to sign a waiver on the plaster in case something happens to it within the ***ONLY 1 YEAR WARRANTY** you receive on it. They said it is ONLY warrantied if you send water samples of your pool to a lab TWICE a month and maintain it on a daily basis. When asked about the "additional required maintenance schedule" needed to keep the warranty, I received no response.
I called the owner of this location. TYLER WORTHEY... who was so insanely rude and abrupt on the phone instead of trying to make things right after spending $55,000 with this company and they are already paid in full. He said for me to switch to another plaster that offers a *15 year warranty** I would have to pay almost $3,000 additional for the upgrade. I called the salesman for help as well and he says "We sell everything at cost so there’s nothing we can do." LOL... everything at cost? So you're in business for to breakeven? DECEPTIVE trade practice. The salesman will lie to you and tell you that most of their work is kept in house. LIE... every single part of the pool was subcontracted out to another company.
The ONLY positive thing about this company is the superintendent Jerry who has been at my house every step of the way and just a phone call away for any questions. At first I was worried about some of the other reviews, but I thought I'd give them a chance and hear what they had to say. I didn't realize how many pools Blue Haven actually does. It started with our sales guy/designer, Rob. He asked us a lot of questions about what we want and how we plan to use our pool. Then he explained everything about their smart pool system, and how it would help to take care of the pool for us. He looked at our yard and checked the elevation levels to make sure it would work for us. And he spent time with us to design a pool and spa area we could really use, and it was neat being able to help design our own pool. It's completely custom. I felt bad for Rob because we changed our mind about the design a dozen times over a few hours. And he held in there. A big thumbs up for Rob.
It was a busy time of year when we ordered, so they weren't able to get started for about 4 weeks. Once they did, everything went smoothly. Rob explained there could be delays, so I wasn't surprised when it took a little longer than expected. They have been a great company to work with. Whenever I have called with a question, either Rob or John would call me back pretty quickly. After a few months, I noticed a piece of stone that didn't seem right and I asked them to check it out for me. They got me on the schedule and fixed it within a couple weeks of my call. The thing my kids really loved is the pool looks just like the 3d drawing he showed me on his computer. The thing I like most is how easy it is to take care of. My neighbors are jealous! :)

Skeeter, David, Mark as well as ALL the other key construction workers, diggers, framing, plaster's, plumbing, electrical, sprinkler, pool pump installers... Everyone was professional and courteous. I recently had a pool with a spa installed - heater - lights in deep end and spa, coping and tile trim. My story is not like most of the others, in that my pool is intact and seems to be good. Issues - There were a lot of delays; we were told we would be swimming by June - got in late August about 3 weeks before we had to close it, but again it seems better than some other reviews I've read. My salesperson promised me the world, and a lot of it is just misleading. For instance, he advise that you get 100 free feet of electrical, which is true but did not mention the lights, although pre-wired count as 80 ft of that free amount. We specifically discussed the location of the pool being within 100 feet of my box and noted the electric would be free (cost me another $1,200) - so no matter what you are told, you will definitely need to pay additional electrical costs (plumbing will cost you more also if you get a heater - believe me).
Also, everyone's demeanor changes the second they get that check. Bob the salesman was at my house in February and explained we need a topographical survey. I mentioned it would be a while until that could get done as there was about 2 feet of snow on the ground. He said, "No, no, no that won't affect him - it will be done this week." That was BS - the survey could not be done over a month which delayed permit filing and ultimately was the beginning of delays. Also, we needed to chase our salesperson every step of the way. We were delayed during construction because the plumbing permit was not filed - further delays.
More of these kind of things really irritated us, but the most frustrating part of dealing with Blue Haven is that you are essentially buying a 50, 60, 70 thousand dollar pool over the phone. Once that initial deposit is given you will only meet 1 more person from Blue Haven on the day of the dig. He is there to walk you through the construction process and collect the next 40% of the payment, takes about an hour and that is the last time you will ever see a Blue Haven employee in the flesh. The rest of your correspondence will be done over the phone with someone in PA (for me at least, I'm in NJ). I was floored that no one from BH came to check any of the work.
My gunite was blown during the most torrential thunderstorm of the summer; I don't know what I'm looking at so I kept asking them, "Are you going to check these guy's (sub-contractors - all work is done 100% by subs) work?" -- Eddie, the construction manager, kept telling me yes - but BH never came out. As per the drawing and the contract, we were supposed to have a tiled wall between the spa and the pool - literally as the tile guys were working I got a call from BH saying they would not guarantee the pool if I tiled the wall; it need to be capped with coping. I had to run out and catch them before they got to the wall. OK - why was tile offered and sold to me in the first place? What if I was not home and could not stop the tile guys - would my pool not be guaranteed now?
The cover is a safety cover, but not what you're thinking - it is not an elephant cover - it dips onto the water just not the best as the salesperson will tell you. Honestly, the pool came out beautiful but I'm really worried about years to come because there was no oversight - fingers crossed. I would imagine dealing with any of these companies there will be frustrations - these were mine as they relate to BH - just trying to inform future buyers - it a major spend and we should all know as much as possible. Good luck.

First, I would like to say that purchasing my pool thru Blue Haven Pools has been the worst thing that I have ever done. There are many occasions of bad customer service but I will focus on the most recent. Our pool was replastered at our cost about 11 months ago. We have recently noticed that the pool light is being held by 1 screw. The other screws are there but cannot be tightened. I feel that this should be under their 1 year warranty since the light housing had to be removed so that the new plaster could be installed correctly. Today was the 3rd appointment that I had set because they do not show up when they said they would. They tell you that they will call you back and that doesn't happen.
I was so upset today when they wanted to charge me $95.00 for the service call even though I did produce the 3rd Addendum that showed that the new plaster was under a year old. I did raise my voice at the guys and will apologize to them if they ever come back; after all it was not their fault. If you would like to get ahold of me to discuss more issues I will be willing to participate. As of now, I will not recommend Blue Haven Pools to anyone. I have already told my story to all of my friends and relatives.

Due to us being on vacation we asked if our bid could be ready by that Thursday or Friday and they both said, "Oh, no problem.” Ms. ** gave me her cell phone number and said texting was her preferred method of communication.
So, Friday morning I text her as to the status of the bid so we can plan our day. At the time of the message it showed an instant read receipt which means the message was read. No response!! Sunday evening she text me that she was out of town with no cell service and didn't get the message until she returned home. I then in turn, did not respond. Monday evening she text again and said our bid was ready but she wants to "fine tune" it and will send it Tuesday Morning. Tuesday morning, no bid. Tuesday evening, no bid...
Wednesday morning she calls and leaves a voicemail to set up a time to meet with us. I proceeded to text her to tell her that we had accepted a bid from a company who followed up and was thorough with us and did as they said. I told her we were very unsatisfied with even the process of getting a price. No apology from her or anything except: "Ok thanks for letting me know, if you need anything in the future let me know." Called Blue Haven to get an estimate for a pool to be built at my home in New Braunfels, Texas. Joe ** was the salesperson I was given to and in our initial contact told me that their pools start at $38,000.00. I said "okay", I have no idea how much an installation would cost. He went on to state that anything that any add ons would be an addition cost. I also thought this was odd since, I have no idea what $38,000 includes nor did Mr. ** take the time to explain. I must say, I was apprehensive. However, over 40 years ago my family had Blue Haven build one in another part of the country, so I thought I would give them a call or should I say an opportunity.
Additionally, I asked Mr. ** if he wanted a copy of my survey, he stated no. We scheduled a meeting, he showed up on time. We went to my backyard where I showed him where I thought the pool should be placed (due to a pie shaped yard). This is where everything went crazy! I don't use the word lightly. He stated he could only go in one way which was over the main portion of a flagstone patio I had just put in late last year. He also said they, "Do not protect the patio surface and are not liable for any damage". I then explained to him that I met with another pool company (Cody Pools, no comparison of professionalism between the two) who stated that they would come in through the back corner and put down a base to protect the patio. He said they do not do anything to protect property. I then told him we didn't need to proceed. He grabbed his stuff went through the gate shutting it on me when I was right behind him.
I then asked for a number and name of someone in charge. He refused to give it to me and told me that the President would not talk to me if I called in because Mr. ** was their best salesperson. However, he offered that I use his cell phone to talk to the office. He then went on to say it was my fault for not telling him about my yard. This is the first I've heard of a customer asking for a estimate being blamed. I'm the customer, if he has questions, he should have asked. I then reminded him, I offered to send a survey. Finally, he stated he drove an hour to get here and it was a total waste of time. This by far is the worst salesperson I have ever encountered. If this is what the company represents, then I am thankful that I did not hire them.

Where to start: Bait-and-switch pricing to begin with, starting at $20K to reel me in, adding $7K for my customization, then other unexpected expenses ending up at almost $30K. Pool took many months longer to complete than promised, with only one delay being my fault to reporter with the color I asked for but didn't get. Snarly and difficult customer service; (insist on dealing with the owner); most calls or emails took them days to respond to if at all.
About 2 months after the pool was complete and on, I got no response whatsoever even though there was a one-year warranty. Technician was a know-it-all, often demeaning and arrogant, who really didn't know nearly as much as he presumed. Blue Haven Houston is essentially a "middleman" using outside contractors over which they have little control or leverage.
This excuse, and forecasted rain, were frequently used to vindicate themselves of delays. They also ruined my underground sprinkler system costing me thousands to repair. They cut through my AT&T fiber optic cabling causing me a 2-day TV/Internet outage. They forgot to install an overfill drain, explaining that this was not required of code.
The owner initially offered to correct this and install it, they ultimately refused to do it. We had a total mixup on colors, where I requested a deep blue but got turquoise, so I spent an additional $1800 to redo the plaster type and color. (To their credit, they only charged me their cost, and I thanked them for this concession.) They installed a sleeve for my pool cocktail table crooked, requiring them to tear out plaster and reposition the sleeve using a level in both directions, not just one direction. My waterfall leaked water out the back, and they did repair this.
I also had to negotiate to have them provide the wireless remote even though the contract wording was vague, yet this requirement was very clear when I made my purchase. They forgot to install a water fill pipe as was clearly explained I wanted to the salesperson. All in all, when you get excited about a Blue Haven coupon, make sure to go to a reputable competitor and get their opinion on their plan, equipment, and price before committing. You may end up being better off dealing with a higher priced vendor and saving yourself enormous frustration. In my case, I spent more than I would have paid to a quality pool company due to the bait and switch technique and having to pay huge extra expenses to get to where I wanted to go in the first place.

It's only after many years and having moved from the house where BH installed our pool that I can write about our experience without having a stress attack. They sub everything out and when there is a problem you can never get anyone to even call back, let alone address it. It was a horrible 9 MONTHS. YES, 9 Months! The pool surfacing as well as concrete decking was absolutely horrible. After months of complaining they agreed to "fix" it by redoing the plaster and putting stamped concrete over the regular concrete decking. It was WORSE than before and the idiots sprayed concrete all over our wood deck and lawn furniture in the process.
After many more months and threatening to sue (we were not the only ones - we were contacted by two other people with the same mess), BH agreed to tear it out and redo. It was then we learned that the rebar under the elevated concrete deck was not up to code and the whole thing would have caved in had it not been redone. It was the lack of customer service that was the bigger nightmare. Calls not returned. Lies told over and over. It is a really bad memory and I'm glad it's in the past. Just do an internet search for Blue Haven complaints and read up on this company. And then think about how many unhappy customers don't post to the internet!

If you pop in the manager is on a job site. Do not pay in cash like we did. Yo will not have any recourse. Problems: The pool leaks, the pool cracked, and grout unfinished. But the major problem is we had a $6,000 slide installed, with our package, and now the cement slab that it's on is sinking. They didn't pack the dirt before they poured the concrete. So now our slide has sunk 3" and we have a 2" gap.
Bottom Line: DO NOT HIRE BLUE HAVEN POOLS!!!!!!!! If you like controversy and extremely poor craftsmanship, then they are for you... In addition, they only hire non-English speaking illegals. Whatever you tell the original sales person will not get carried over to the project manager because their communication sucks, their contractors are lazy and sloppy and don't respect your house. They won't provide you a schedule as to when crews are coming to your house because they only care about getting paid first then scheduling the next step causing delays. They will put a lien against your home for the full amount of the pool and not disclose that from the beginning.
My story listed is just about 50% of the issues we dealt with just to get the point across. Our neighbor had a pool put in by Anthony Sylvan Pools and it was done in 30-40 days and they had zero issues with them and were provided a full schedule from day one as to when each project was going to start and be completed and any request they had, they were able to accommodate without any issues or hassles.

I have been promised over the past 2 months that our pool would be finished - I continue to be put off by the owners due to other projects. It has now been nearly 10 months - 10 months? That's absurd. I am tired of being lied to, then asked for money (which I have paid).

We had our pool built in 2008 with a new store in Spartanburg SC that closed down 8 months later. We paid over 45K. First the construction took 4 months behind, missed the summer. I will make the story short. 4 months after the pool was finished with 500-pound of stress, the tiles started to fall. The skimmers started to cave. They used a backer board that you use to lay indoor tiles. I was not at the site when this plumber was laying tiles, yes a plumber. I have called Blue Haven in Charlotte with any help. They say "we did not built your pool." I told them the one who build it, the alien took him. I called the head counter to speak to a robot that he discounted me. I will advise anyone to stay away from this company. You will be sorry. It will take me a book to explain what went wrong with my pool, A TO Z.

The subcontractors were great but dealing with Blue Haven Pools was and still is a nightmare. During the spraying the plaster process, the plaster people were going to spray white plaster. I showed them my contract that stated Midnight Blue LC0816. In broken English I was asked if I wanted it darker. I said yes, midnight blue. This process went on until I gave up. I am not the expert, Blue Haven is supposed to be. I took pictures of the pool as they begin to fill it up with water. I then sent the pictures to Blue Haven - No response. Today, almost a year later I still have a shade darker than white plaster but do NOT have Midnight Blue. I have been run in circles for months upon months.

First the wrong pool bottom (color) was put into our pool. I was flat out lied to by John regarding this. Now the pool is installed and they got the elevation wrong so my pool sits up higher than the ground around my house. They have the pavers sloping in TOWARD my L shaped house and it has flooded three times under a door and THRU the garage wall on one side and too many to count under the house crawl space. My husband has called/texted many times. We have been given the run around, but the final straw was today when owner Mark showed up after weeks at our insistence, with an hour’s notice while we were at work and was so rude and matter of fact to my husband. He said it was our fault bc we signed off on the elevation. Well that is ridiculous. We are not pool builders. We signed off on a scaled sketch of the shape and size and placement of the pool. We would not sign off on an elevation as far as knowing how that works and if it was correct as to not flood our house!

Blue Haven Pools in San Antonio, the office located off of 1604, is best known for exceptionally poor customer services. Do not walk away from this company, run like your pocket book and sanity are at stake, you will lose both.
My contract was to build a rather large 30x40 pool with lots of options and upgrades for a pricey sum of over $80,000. Yep, 80 grand - CASH. Contract called for completion within 60 days. OK, great. 1 May means I'll be enjoying my investment by 1 July, just in time for the holiday! Not so, this project took well over 120 days. Excuse after excuse after excuse, I finally had to drag the President of Blue Haven Pools to my home to show him the disaster in my backyard and demand action that was a waste of time and effort as it did no good. What Blue Haven is good about is collecting the progress payment, very aggressive in this area and I paid on time every time, no delays there.
So finally, after 120+ days, I had my pool. They even provided pool school a very fast 15-minute explanation of how stuff worked. The pool boy (instructor) said he would come back and we could finish but true to their customer service philosophy, he never came back. OK, so I'm not so smart, never owned a pool before, but tried hard to do everything right. That was a challenge, because the equipment was set up wrong, pumps were not working and when they did, were on high all the time. Calls to Blue Haven went unanswered, promise of return phone calls never happened, and when I could muscle my way to talk to someone, they were too busy. Sure they were too busy, they had my money, so what good would I now be (maybe good for references)? Many people have asked, response: don't walk, run from these guys.
I have had to hire a third party company to maintain the equipment because Blue Haven is not responsive. The good news is this company is authorized to do warranty work. Due to Blue Haven's refusal to do warranty work or even be responsive to my calls for help, I had to drain my pool - 27,000 gallons of wasted water. The 3rd Party Company replace equipment and set it up correctly, their customer service is exceptional unlike that of Blue Haven.
This company does not deserve to be in business and I strongly recommend if you are looking for a pool, find another company. You may pay a little more but you will be better served and able to enjoy your new pool without the frustration of dealing with a company where customer service is lost by rude, dishonest, and unprofessional staff from the receptionist to the owner. The owner should be ashamed!

We signed a contract in March for our pool. It got finished in the middle of May. We paid cash. The subcontractors were great but dealing with Blue Haven Pools was and still is a nightmare. We was given a permission slip for our neighbor to sign so they could drive on their little piece of gravel to get around our gas meter to have access to our back yard. They had dirt piled on our neighbors property up to their house, leaving them no access to their own back yard. They left open trenches from our gas and water meters all the way down the side of our house and in our back yard. It was unsafe for the neighborhood kids playing in the rock pile they left by the street. We begged Blue Haven Pools to fill in the ditch for 3 weeks so the kids didn't fall in and get hurt and sue us. I ended up getting out there and filling that part in myself.
It says on the back of the Contract that we would get a written schedule. We begged them for the whole time for a written work schedule. We never got it. It got down to the last $300 for the Service guy to come out and show us how to run the equipment. We have withheld paying that till they replace our neighbor's gravel that they tore up from the trench dirt being piled along their house. We only got permission to drive around our gas meter, not to pile dirt on their property and tear it up. Now they are withholding the 8 weeks chemical treatments. We paid $35,000 cash for our pool. They sent the wrong pavers and that took another week to get that straightened out. It's 1 job every week or 2. When they do talk to you all they know how to do is lie to you. Do not deal with Blue Haven Pool. That is the worse mistake we've ever made.
