This is the third time I have submitted a review/complaint about my bath fitters experience - I have called on my other problems - - now I will show the problem - I have had problems with the walls or inserts flexing and seam splitting - the remedy was to put silicon on it and leave - now I will complain about the original issue and the new ones with photos to show the problems and the sad repair of the problems - I had debated contacting my attorney but have held off... One last try pics to follow.

I was having my issues with my tub, the surround and everything that was in it. So I purchased new ones and had them installed. Sales rep was really good, very knowledgeable. The installation guy did an excellent job as well. He's very knowledgeable, very clean, thorough, explained everything that he was gonna do. He's very, very good.
I recommend Bath Fitters to everyone. I’m a hairstylist, so I tell a lot of people. They kinda give you that “oh, you had them?” kind of thing. I say, “Oh, no, they’re fantastic!! and they guarantee it for the life of the house. They’re really good people.” I have a couple of customers who mentioned they’d probably look into it. I tell them definitely... mention my name! lol. It made a big world of difference in my bathroom. I had other things done, but it started with the tub.

We have a friend that had used Bath Fitter and recommended it, and so a couple of years later we went ahead and did our bathroom remodel. We love our shower. It works great for us because we can get in and out of the shower versus our old bathtub shower, and it's easy to clean. Everything was positive and worked out good for us. The installation team did it in a quick manner.

I’m 80 years old and I wanted to take out the bath and put in a shower in my bathroom. I heard about Bath Fitter from a friend. I got about five references from them. I called each person, and I got a very good answer from each of them. All the people I spoke with are more than satisfied. I decided to purchase the shower from them in June.
The Bath Fitter salesperson was a very pleasant man. He knew his job. He told me what to expect and what he told me was just what happened. He told me in the beginning that there would be a delay because they have to pull a permit, but as soon as the city granted the permit, their worker would come. He also advised me of financing and I took his advice and got it done. Then, a plumbing company came and changed the plumbing. When the plumbing was finished, the city inspector came and inspected it. The day after that, their installation person came and put up the walls, covered it up, and put in the shower. Bath Fitter did a very good job.

We bought an apartment that had two tubs. I can't get into a tub because I am 88 and partly disabled so I needed something that I could get into without help. So I did a bath to shower conversion with Bath Fitter. When I called them, the sales representative was very nice and explained everything. And the technicians were also very helpful and very efficient. Although, their office isn't so efficient. We never got a bill from them and then we got a phone call from a finance company that we owed the money. They had an inexact address and so the bills kept coming back to them but instead of calling me to tell me that, they turned it over to an agency which did not make me happy.
If the office had been as efficient as the technical and sales department, I'd recommend them because it really came out looking very nice and I'm happy with it. I don't like receiving calls from finance companies to tell me I owe them money when I never got a bill. I just don't pay blindly, I want to get a bill and then I'll take care of it. Incidentally, I still have not gotten a single statement, invoice or bill from them. I was just really surprised that there was such a discrepancy between that part of their organization and their office.
Hi Lillian, thanks for letting us know about this. We've contacted GE Capitol, but we're not able to receive an explanation because we're not the client and there are privacy concerns involved. GE Capitol did tell us however that if you called 866-396-8254, they would cancel any late fees or charges because of the address error. Our local office will be in touch to assist you in anyway. We first learned about Bath Fitter at a local country market - they have a stand there. We did a little research then. We chose Bath Fitter to remodel our bathroom because they promised to put it in a day and they absolutely did. We purchased the tub, tub enclosure with the shower in it. They had it done either in July or August and it was our first Bath Fitter remodel. The sales representative was a very nice guy. It was the same thing for the installation team. It was just one guy. He came to install and did a fabulous job. Bath Fitter made a project that I was thinking would be difficult into something very simple and streamlined. It was a great experience and I’ve told everybody I know about it.

I had a bath fitter tub installed 3 years ago. I still love my tub, however, we are away 5 months out of the year and this year when we came back, we started having problems with the hot water. When you start the shower, you have hot water for about one minute, then it gets cold and we have to wait for the furnace to kick on before we start getting hot water again. This never happens with the kitchen or bath sinks, only the shower. Is this a bath fitter problem?

Our shower stall was poorly installed by a DIY'er before we moved into the house. The floor of the shower didn't slope down to the drain, so the water didn't drain properly and eventually the shower floor leaked into the basement. We called a remodeling company that we trusted and had used before, but they did not seem interested in the job. After coming out to look at the shower they never called back with an estimate, even after we contacted them again - perhaps they had "bigger fish to fry". We saw an ad for Bath Fitters and gave them a call. They came out quickly and gave us an estimate.
The salesman explained the procedure and all the options. He was very relaxed and we felt no pressure to sign, although the 10% discount if we signed before he left did give us an incentive to make a quick decision (a lot of contractors are doing that now). So we signed, and it took about 3 weeks for them to start the job, but when they came out they did it in one day, as advertised. Workers were very professional and did a very nice job, and cleaned up well. The shower is beautiful and we're glad to be able to use it again. Cost was $4500, which we thought was a bit pricey for a small shower stall, but we're glad to have a useable shower again. I'm sure it took a lot of material to correct the structural problems of the shower floor. Overall, we're very happy with the work they did, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends, if I had any.

We contracted for a walk in shower as well as a new toilet and new water shut off valve. The shower was done and is absolutely fabulous. We LOVE it. The rep who measured for the new toilet made an error and the plumber was unable to do the work the day he was scheduled here. He attempted to contact his supervisor and the supervisor didn't answer the call and didn't return the call. The supervisor still has not attempted to contact us to complete the work that was begun one week ago today. We gave a deposit for more than 50% of the work when we signed the contract in July and will happily pay the outstanding balance as soon as the work is done. Coworkers, relatives and Facebook friends all knew we were working with Bath Fitters. Everyone has asked how we like our new bathroom and we have had to tell everyone the shower is great, the workers were professional. But the job is not done and no one seems to want to call to finish it.
Hi Shari, thanks for reaching out about this situation. We're in the process of contacting your local Bath Fitter office in order to resolve the issue. We're glad you're pleased with your new shower and will work to settle any other remaining issues. Thanks!

At a fair, I filled out a consumer interest in Bath Fitters - I am interested in remodeling at some time. BF followed up, and the hard sell from this salesman was disgusting. The conversation was as follows: "Why couldn't I see them tomorrow?" Coming out next week is inconvenient for them because they will be in my neighborhood tomorrow. I told the guy he was turning me off with his pushiness, but he kept on plowing through. I WILL NEVER USE THIS OUTFIT. I can only imagine what I would have to go through had I let them in my house. They would not have left without a signed contract. Beware dealing with them. This is an old school hard sell, disregarding the customers needs.

Everyone was nice, from the salesman, the plumber, and the guy that put it in. I would recommend Bath Fitter to a friend. In fact I have and everybody likes it when I show it to them and they wish they had it. And I tell them to get Bath Fitter because I had a price from another person that was half as nice as they were, they were even higher than what Bath Fitter gave me, then another company was really high. I don't think Bath Fitter is as durable as what we thought it was going to be. It’s tantamount to a Hollywood set. Maybe in the long run it will be better than the fiberglass that we had or the ceramic that we probably would have installed. They put up these tub surround walls and everything else using like a glue pack in order to make everything level - they use a level and they'll shorten it up a little bit more. It’s probably not as durable. It might be in the long run, but probably not as durable as ceramic tile. But they gave us what we wanted. We wanted in and out fast, and it was two days installation each. But for that you pay probably twice as much as you would pay otherwise. They'll keep coming back and they'll keep fixing whatever problem you have, and that’s all covered by the double amount that is charged.
Every time you take a shower, do you wipe down the walls? I don't think most people do but if you want to keep on top of this stuff, you will do that. You either use vinegar and water to scrub it down, 50-50. Or you wipe it down each time. There’s no grouting. So that’s probably a better idea. But you better keep after it. Their installation people are wonderful. They really, truly know what they're doing. They do rely a lot on silicone caulk. And I guess when you're buying the product, you don't realize that as much. Overall, it’s something that we're still getting used to yet. And in the long run maybe it’s a smart idea.

After owning our home for 20 years and hating the 2nd upstairs bathroom with a hideous pink scalloped tub from the beginning, we had a Bath Fitter salesperson come in to give us a quote to remove the tub and create a walk-in shower. Loved all of the options and felt the price was appropriate based on the quality of the product, so we placed the order and 6 weeks later the work was scheduled and completed over 2 half days. The installer was very professional and took great care to protect the hallway and stairway carpeting as he was hauling out pieces of the old tub and walls on day #1. On day #2 he installed the new shower and we are thrilled. There was a small leak near the bottom of the glass shower door but a call to Bath Fitter's office and the original installer came back out and applied more caulk and no more leaks. We love the produce so much we plan to have our master bathroom shower re-done in a couple of months. What more can I say?

There is now a leak and I called for service under the no charge warranty which is supposed to last as long as I own the house. I was informed that there is a $95 charge for them to come out to look at it. This charge applies whether the problem ends up being with their unit and installation or whether it is another issue. Tub/drain leaking water on bathroom floor. In August I met with Salesman Jerrod. I explained problem and he sold me a tub for $2,500+, but I would have to have a Plumber fix the drain and he never mentioned that they would leave me with no tile above the tub. The Plumber said he needed to remove the tub to fix the drain. Bath Fitter's price to remove the tub was less than the Plumber so when Samantha, a coordinator from B F, called me I asked her if they could remove the tub one day and install on another so I could have the Plumber work on the drain. She said yes and would called me the next day. She never called me, so I waited one more day and called her. She was too busy to call me is what she said. She finally got a man to come out and remove the tub and that's when he told me that he would be leaving me without any tile for 1 to 1 1/2 feet above the tub. He said he was afraid that the salesman didn't mention the tile problem and that he thought they could fix the drain and give us a nice wall around the tub too. He left without removing the tub.
Jerrod came back and he was in a hurry, so he quickly wrote up a new contract for a wall w/ trim also. Now in the middle of September they called and said they would be out on Monday morning between 8-10 am. At 10:45 am I emailed Samantha because I had hear nothing from anyone or seen a person come to my door. She calls a while later to say that their installer took the wrong order and had already removed someone else's tub. They might be able to make it on Thursday. My husband had stayed home from work for the installation.
Hi Nancy, we understand you've canceled your order and received a refund of your deposit. We're sorry we're not able to continue your order, but hope you can make the necessary updates to your bathroom quickly. Thank you.

Bath Fitter resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I really appreciate they going the extra mile.
Original Review: Sept. 12, 2014
I have already contacted BF Long Island office, with no resolution to the issue and had to escalate to the firm's customer care. I got a liner replaced in July of this year. Great installation except for a gash by the drain. Sent the Long Island outfit of BF photos and they assessed that the liner had to be replaced. Three weeks later, last Monday, a tech with the new liner arrived. He was about half hour late passed the two hour window. Started working. Was quite sloppy. He not only didn't install the liner properly, it is not leveled, there is silicone all over, bended the wall liner molding and fill it with so much silicone that looks like a cream puff, and the drain is at an angle and not centered.
To make things even better, the sides of the tub have a give. Yes. You can feel the tub giving in to your weight when you stand by the borders and close to the drain. Talking about the drain, it flows slower than before, making your shower experience not so good when you have water to your ankles. The silicone seams are about an inch wide. The tech used his finger to even out the material and left huge seams instead of the usual quarter inch. This is cosmetic but still needs to be resolved. The tech was in such a hurry that he had me sign the paperwork before he was done. He used WD40 on the tiles; also, he broke one of the tiles as well, am talking the real tiles not the liner. And wd40 on the floor, I almost broke a leg by skidding on it. He was disrespectful to me, to you and to his work. He ruined my bathroom. He did a substandard installation.
BF Long Island office, specifically a woman named **, rejects my calls, does not return calls or emails and has no respect for urgency or peoples schedule. Told her I needed someone before the 15th, but I guess because this installation is on the house because the first and second techs did not do their jobs the way they should, she feels I can wait for them to send someone for an assessment. Bear in mind that she has pictures of the liner already. I told her that the 15th is not good. She ignores my request. I really need a tech to come over Friday or Saturday, if nothing can be done, Monday, but with a specific time, not a window.
This has to be resolved before something severe happens. I did mention this rep ** that BathFitter will be made responsible for any leaks resulting of the current installation. She really does not seem to care about the customer or the firm. In short, what I need from BF is to promptly: assess what is wrong with the angled drain, not leveled liner, liner that gives in when bearing weight on it, ruined molding and sloppy silicone application.
Hi Felicia, we appreciate you reaching out regarding the issues. We're glad that our technicians were able to resolve the problem to your satisfaction. If you have any other questions, please email us at customercare@bathfitter.com. Thanks again and enjoy your bathtub!

My husband was there on the day of installation. Excellent installation except we had chosen a particular wall pattern, a style of the wall, and they brought the wrong kind that day. So my husband called to ask me about it. I was really upset and I was like, "Oh God, we're going to be delayed because we're going to have to reorder this!" But they actually had someone drive right from the factory and the crew went and met them, and they went ahead and got it done that day. They made arrangements and some people went out of their way to make sure they got the right product.
So far, I love it. It's a great product and it has made my life easier. I don't get stressed as much about cleaning my bathroom now when I have guests over. It's really easy to keep clean without having those grout lines. I find it real easy to just take a little extra shampoo and squirt the shampoo on the wall or the floor, and just scrub it down using a sponge. I almost never had to get an industrial or heavy duty cleaner in there if I just keep up with it.

I'd stick with Bath Fitter because they're good. We had the walls and the tub done. The original tiles around the shower and stuff are falling off. I kept trying to put them back on but they just kept falling back off. So it was time to have it more professionally done. We're pleased with what we purchased. Their sales rep was very pleasant and nice. The guys explained everything that was going on. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

We have had a tub done by Bath Fitter for several years and decided to have a shower installed with surround a few weeks ago. The installation is done and we are enjoying our shower. Everything is working as promised and we would like to recommend Bath Fitter. The installer arrived on time, worked efficiently for about 3 hours, checked everything, cleaned up the floor covers, and went over everything with us before he left. We trust this company and know that if anything goes wrong, they will respond and take care of the problem.

I heard about Bath Fitter from a neighbor. I kept thinking about it and when I finally saw it advertised in the paper a few times, I called and made an appointment. I've been in the same condo for 20 years, and the shower really needed updating. I purchased the built-in seat and a big caddy. I'm an elderly lady so I really needed those two things, with new grab bars too. The sales rep was lovely and she kept calling me keeping heads-up. The plumber was great, he didn't take long at all and the installer was wonderful, very knowledgeable - knew what he was doing. I was very happy with it. I've had a lot of elderly people come and look at it and they really think it looks like a spa. It's so pretty. I've done my bathroom all in yellow and blue. It really looks nice and everybody loves it. It's very inviting.

We had a really good experience with Bath Fitter and everything turned out just as what we expect or even better. What they worked on was not really a bathroom to begin with. It was supposed to be a bathroom when the house was built but it was being used as a closet, and had been for some time. It had no plumbing but it had a window and you don't have windows in closets. And we had another bath which is fully functional. But what we decided was we may need a walk-in shower. So I had them come out and measure to see if this closet would work. And they did.
They had several choices and they would make it fit in the room I had. And now, I have a nice-sized shower and that's what I needed. They even extended the door that went in there to a size that would fit a walker if necessary. Besides the shower, they had to run the plumbing. I live in a house with a basement. And they were able to do that fairly easy since it was above the basement. They run all the appliance and everything to hook it up. And then I wanted to put a toilet and a small lavatory, pedestal, and they were able to that. It was a little questionable about the space but it worked out just fine so it's really nice. They were very professional. They did everything they said they would.

When the salesman came to our house, we were told that a tub put over our old steel tub would fit like a glove because they had at least 2,000 plus molds. It did not fit because it moves all around the sides of the tub when you are standing in the shower. The manager told us it was normal for it to move??? No, the salesman did not say that, he said it would fit perfect. The material we were shown that the tub and surround would be like was not the same material that was used and it is very thin and low quality material. The shelves that they installed were even worse. You can take your fingers and push them and feel them move. We were very upset with the whole experience and we wanted the whole thing taken out of the house as it is a disgrace and lowers the value of it. They would not do anything about it. The salesman tried to bribe us by offering a lower price if we kept it. Please do not get this company to do anything!! There are better quality tubs and surrounds at well known home improvement centers for an eight of the cost.

My bathroom is 30 years old and it looked horrible so I wanted to have it remodel the simpler way. I didn't want to tear down all the tiles coz I've already done tiling the floor and I know what a mess that makes. I like the thought of everything going over the tub. The sales representative was very informative and sold the product very well. She knew her stuff. I was very impressed with the delivery team with how they were on time. The guy that took out the plumbing was in and out within an hour, and then the guy who was to do the install came right at the time he was supposed to come and literally did a perfection of a job. They cleaned up. It took quite a long time to do and I was shocked that it would take that long, but the product itself proved that it was gonna be a worthwhile investment. I purchased the tub with the shower wall and the little thing to put in the corner for the soap and shampoo and I got a safety rail for anyone that wants to hold on to it. I'm very impressed with it, and all my friends like it too.

The reviews that we’ve seen locally for Bath Fitter were good, and after meeting with the sales rep we decided to let them do the work on our shower.
The sales representative was good. He was professional, he knew his products and helped us make some good choices... we did a full shower, three-shelves and some custom work job on our glass doors. Amazingly they had one person do the installation and he was very good. After the job was over, they brought out a nice little gift basket with some supplies, as far as squeegees and those kinds of things for cleaning glass, etc. They did some follow-up from their office, which was real nice that they called and touched base with us a few times and made sure everything was good.

We noticed that the grout in the bathroom was starting to deteriorate and thought about remodeling it. But we didn’t want to go through a mess of carrying it out. Then, we saw Bath Fitter’s little kiosk at Treasure Coast Mall and got interested in a type of design that is one complete piece on the walls, which would eliminate future grout problems. Also, it looked like tile so that it wasn’t just a sheet of plastic.
The sales representative came and gave a good presentation and we signed. The installer did a good job of installing. He measured and measured before he actually did any cutting or installing. It gave us a good feeling that he was being careful. Let me make one point though: The salesman kept saying that they clean everything and he knew that we were reusing shower doors. The installer didn’t clean up the bit of mold where the track originally was. Later, we found out that was not part of his job; they should have told us ahead of time. We thought he had better cleaning products than we do for elbow grease. I’m very pleased though that he left a list of cleaning materials that we could use. We took the time to remove the bit of mold ourselves and it did come out.
Over all, I’m very pleased with Bath Fitter. It’s a much neater way of getting your bathroom redone without the mess of carrying out tile, which would cause dust throughout your whole place.

Hi, While I'm angry with what transpired, I am satisfied with the manner in which the situation was finally resolved. I'd like to add that it was not just miscommunication and delays that caused the problems but ineptness. I have been told that even after measuring for the blind three times and seeing it over a half dozen times, the wrong blind was ordered!! This is a person who should be not be a supervisor or quite frankly, should have a job.
Original Review: Aug. 13, 2014
I had the most horrific experience with Bath Fitter of Keyport. (OGorman Brothers) The salesman, Mr. ** of Wall assured me that the product would be non-slip for my husband, former police chief Dan **, who has ALS, and it would be installed in 1 1/2 days. The installation took 3 days (beginning June 13, 2014) instead of the 1 1/2 that was promised and a layer of cement dust was all over the bathroom, adjacent room and closet because the installer didn't tape the door opening properly. The installer was late each of the 3 day installation and left early two of those days. This room is the living space of my husband, who has ALS. The floor of the shower that they installed was very slippery which put my husband in a precarious and unbelievably stressful situation. Also the base was crooked and had to be reinstalled. By day 16, they finally gave me a non-slip coating but almost two months later did not replace the curtain that was coated with cement dust, pay the cleaning bill or replace the defective and cheap shower head despite numerous phone calls about these items. The drain was clogged with cement and $240.00 later it is fixed.
Supervisor Mr. **, does not return most calls, texts, emails or acknowledge them. He is rude, interrupts, is insensitive to the situation, lies (even in the American Express documentation!!) and constantly says he understands and is taking care of a problem but doesn't, which puts me in a situation where I'm spending my valuable time calling and complaining. The stress that they caused myself and my husband is unbelievable. The installation and clean up time as well as the time that I have spend on phone call and emails, including this and several reviews and the American Express dispute, took valuable time that my husband and I could have spent together or with friends and family. The stress that they have caused a handicapped and dying person is unconscionable. They have robbed us of valuable time that we will never get back, not to mention they put him in a hazardous situation with the slippery floor then acted like they were doing us a favor by not charging us for the non-stick coating. The product was quite expensive but it is cheap.
The supervisor (Mr. **) and the installers were unprofessional and should not be in the business of installing bathrooms to elderly and handicapped folks. Do not use this company....you will regret it!!! Almost two months later I'm still waiting for the curtain, which Mr. ** has come to our home and measured for three times. He came here with a stock Home Depot curtain yesterday to cover for his failure to order a blind and acted like it was the correct size and type (fabric ribboned wood blind) nor were we reimbursed for the cleaning!!!
Each act of incompetence is costing us valuable time and costing Bath Fitters money. I have been yessed to death by the staff and finally called the owner yesterday who did not return my call. I only wish I had the time to detail this more clearly but I'm too busy caring for my husband. They have insinuated that the damage was caused by the volunteer workers that were at our home helping with construction and that we are under stress but I am a retired township clerk and my husband is a retired police chief and know how to handle very difficult situations. They have pushed us to our limit and legal action may be the only recourse. I have not had the time to hire an attorney to go after them civilly because I am the primary caregiver for my ill husband and we are trying to spend time together, but believe me, I will.

April of 2014 we had Bath Fitter of Albuquerque come and check out our 2 bathrooms we wanted remodeled. Set everything up and at the time some prep work was needed to be done, when the installer showed up (June 2014) I expected that the additional work was going to be done that day, guess what. We were told the other work should have been scheduled earlier and done before the installer showed (strike one). Even if the prep work had been done, the wrong tub and wrong shower pan had been ordered, plus there was damage to one of the walls that had not been found until that morning (strike two).
So, after reordering the material and I will say that some of the prep work has been done, the work was rescheduled for this week (August 11). The installer showed and began to do the work and found that the shower pan was not the right one again (strike three). FOUR months later and NOTHING to show for it except irritation!!!! Needless to say that we have had enough with this company and immediately cancelled EVERYTHING. Will not ever use again and highly DO NOT recommend Bath Fitter at any level!!

They did measure incorrectly though; that was one of the issues and so I did end up getting a new ceiling. And it was quite a job for the poor kid who did the remodeling because it's an older home, so it was quite messy.
I would like to have known that it was gonna be that messy and dusty coz I would have prepared a little bit better, closed rooms off or put things away. I had to throw a lot of my toiletries away because it was so dusty after they did the demo. Anyway, the person who handled the installation has been very pleasant, always on time and kept me abreast of what was happening, so it's real positive. I remodeled the front bathroom, a two-fold bath, which is the common bathroom. I put in new commode, new sink. I had shower doors in the front bathroom but I took them out and I filled them, all the little holes, and went back to the shower curtain assembly and just repainted everything. The wife, she came in and remodeled a lot of things, redecorated, so that was like a million bucks. When we came to the master bath, same thing. It was a shower-tub one-piece enclosure and the shower doors and everything else. But we decided, “Look, if we’re gonna do anything, let’s get it done right and shop around."
Well, I knew that any quality or better is gonna be 5, 6 grand or higher, but now the next question is, and the biggest concern right here, we wanted to go vinyl, we didn’t want to go stone because eventually that has a tendency to leak, and then what do you have? You have wood problems, you have floor, you have walls and every kind of problem. Other vinyl systems were multiple pieces 2,3,5,6... Now you got to deal with... the caulking or the silicone -- yes, it’s flexible. I know what the qualities of caulking is and of this and that. But we did not want to have the hassle of dealing with other joints. And Bath Fitters came up with the one-wall-piece system. What they did is plywood systems, and I love that.
I wasn’t in there all the time, but when I did pop in, these guys were impressive and the maintenance staff is bar none some of the best I’ve seen. They did an outstanding job. And they did everything that I asked. The professionalism that these guys handled it, I thought, “Oh, wow, these guys, they’re serious.” I’ve been in the building trade for over 30 years, so it was just an overwhelming job for me to do by myself, but to come in in two days and do what these fellows did was just phenomenal!

We went with them because of the fact that they didn't have to do any more caulking, the ease of cleaning the surfaces, and everything as detailed at the interview with the sales rep was the very thing that he said it would be. I had it done in January and had no complaints and no holes. It's awesome. It was an install over the bathtub. We did get wainscot for the bathroom too, so that was part of the whole installation. We had a great conversation going back and forth with the sales representative, something that not a lot of people like to do, but we both could trust each other and contact each other without harassing each other. The installer was very polite and from the time that he walked in the door to the time that he left, it was everything that they had described at the outset of the signing of the contract. He laid things out on the floor, cleaned up before he left and let you know what was going to happen before the next day. He was done in two days, which amazed us. I was very satisfied with the outcome.

Our bathrooms were becoming awful so we decided to remodel. We had a tub and shower downstairs and a shower upstairs done by Bath Fitter. There was someone in the house who needed a sit-down bath because they were sick, and they passed away, and after that, I redid the bathroom and had Bath Fitter come out again and put the tub in. All that took place within a year or two. The sales representative was very good ant the installation team was very, very efficient. They knew what they were doing. About 7 years ago, I had Bath Fitter put in a tub. They replaced a walk-in shower with one of their tubs. When they were done, everything looked nice until we went to remodel the floor. We tore up the tile that was there and found termite damage. The installers had installed the tub of boards that had termite damage to the point that they needed replaced. They did not say one word about this - just put tub in anyway. They had to come out and remove tub so that we could get floors fixed. Now we have had problems with shower rod coming loose all the time. We have fixed it back several time ourselves but would not stay - just had them out to house and they replaced it but we are still have problems with the tub and walls.
There are scratches and chips in the tub that will not come clean. There is a dark ring around the tub. No matter how many times you clean, it will not come off and we use the cleaning products they told us to even though I hate the smell of them. There are places on the wall that won't come clean also. The pull bar on the wall always looks nasty - has black stuff that runs from it. We paid over $7000.00 to have the bathroom of our dreams. What we got is the bathroom of our nightmares. There is also a chip in the silver part around the drain. That looks very bad. I'm going to be calling the BBB. I'm not happy!!!! Buyer beware.

The tub has been in there for a long time and it had glass doors on it which I hated. They kept coming off the track and it was a three piece surround and there's mold around the surround and stuff. So I thought it was time to remodel my bathroom. I went with Bath Fitter because of their lifetime warranty and if there's any problems with any part of the tub including the spigot and the plumbing, it's guaranteed for life.
My interaction with the Bath Fitter sales representative was very good. We looked through numerous things and I wanted something that was just going to be plain without crevices or indentations or something for mold to collect and he picked one out and said, "What do you think of this?" I said, "That's just what I'm looking for." So that's what we went with.
The installation team that came to our home was great. It was only one guy and he had it done in no time. He was good. I've seen the Bath Fitter commercials on TV. Also they had a little setup at one of our festivals here, in a town that I live in, and that's where we really got to talking to somebody about the company and we finally decided to let them remodel our bathroom. The sales representative came and explained to us what they would do, and then told us how much it was going to cost and everything. We ended up purchasing the wall surround, the tub covering and fixtures. I was not here on the day of the installation. My husband was, but from what I heard, the experience was fairly good.
We knew that this was a fairly old house that we're living in and we needed to think about the fact that we have older parents that come visit us all the time. They need a way to be able to get in and out of the bathtub easier, so a bathroom remodel was pretty much a good option for us. Plus, my husband has got some physical disabilities as well.

Our old tub and tiles were beyond touching up and were difficult to even keep clean. The new wall coverings, fixtures and tub are great looking. My only question is that no sealant was placed around the faucet where it comes out of the tub and no sealant around the water control fixture where it comes out of the wall. I don't know if that might lead to water leaking into the wall at that point or is there something behind those fixtures that I can't see that seals out water?

My kids had some issues with the ceramic tile in the wall section of my pre-existing tub. The pre-existing tub was probably 40 years old. So it was either have it redone in the manner in which they offered or have it reglazed. I expected the price to be more than it was. It was still a substantial amount, but for the quality and the warranty, overall, it was worth investing in. The only thing was, when I asked about the cost to have an additional panel made up to do the sealing of the shower area, if the price was more reasonable, I'd probably would have opted to have that done also. But it wasn't really necessary because the tile and grout in that area worked just fine. It was $700 or something for an additional panel and I felt that it was too expensive - it wasn't worth adding to the job.
The sales rep came with his literature and he answered all the questions that I had. He showed me all my options for the different styles, colors, textures of material. And the different plumbing option for the shower head, handles and such. I got the top-end shower enclosure with the glass sliding doors replacement. I got the walls. I got the cover that would fit like a glove over the tub. And then there was a couple little cosmetic things on the outside of the tub with the immediate walls that they also included in the price. The installation was done by just one man. He did it all. And he was there as long as it took to do the job - until 9 o'clock at night. They were prompt, courteous and clean and everything was good.
Overall, as far as everything involved in doing the job from the demo to the total installation, everything was fine. I went with Bath Fitter because I knew and liked the way their product worked.

So we wanted to do something more permanent, plus we wanted to improve the plumbing.
It was very informative, very professional, and done in a real quick and satisfactory manner. The sales representative was very informative, gave us all the information we needed to move into it, very cooperative in getting it done in a timely manner. And the installer did a really nice job. I had one minor issue and they showed up the next day and rectified it right away. They were very responsive. After it was all done, they also checked in to make sure we were happy with everything and if everything was satisfactory.
I just have a question: If we sold the house, can the warranty be passed? Because that's why we got it -- there's lifetime warranty on everything, the plumbing, the tub, liner... so if anything goes wrong, that's their problem, not mine?? (We did the tub liner and the full tub surround and the shower head. We also put an adjustable shower bar in with a separate shower head on a flex hose.)

The installation guy was on time. They were very neat and set up parts so they didn't get the floor dirty. Kept us appraised with what was going on, when the water would shut off and when we could turn the water back on. And explained the care and maintenance with the system to us really well. They said they would return my check but they cashed it instead with no warning. When I call about having my money returned (over $1500 I might add), I was told they were sorry and would fast track the return within 10 business days as it was their error. 10 days later, I was informed by the same people and rudely I might add that this was a corporation and now I am to wait 4 to 6 weeks. This is not a small amount of money and it was a company error but I was told that it was pretty much my problem and that's the best they can do. We were in the mall looking to put a new insert and a new tub insert and my wife said, "Why don't we go up and take a look at Bath Fitter." They had this little thing out there that had a bathtub and a bath wall. I said, "Gee, it looks pretty good." We were going to have somebody from Home Depot come out and give us a quote on doing it, and I had to wait over a week for that. So I called Bath Fitter and they said, "How about Thursday at about 2:00?" At 2:00 on Thursday, the guy was here. The young fellow really, really, really knew his stuff, as far as being able to sell the product. One of the things that really got me is that it's a lifetime warranty - that's everything: the faucets, any of the caulk... Lifetime, they'd come out and fix it and it wouldn't cost me another dime. And they said they would get it done in one day. I said, "Okay. How many people you got doing it?" They said, "One." I said, "Well, I'll believe that when I see it."
Anyhow, I signed up for it. The young fellow came out, threw down all kinds of tarps on the floor and took everything out of the bathroom, took it outside, put it in their truck, and when he left, that went with him. They already had the insert made for my size; it was actually measured for my particular house. The young fellow came in and it was a long day for him because he had to start out at the factory first and he didn't get here until 9:30. And it was 7:00 at night when he got done, and he did it all himself. The young fellow that put it in was fabulous and he knew his trade. Whenever somebody comes out and does a good job, maybe price is not really the best thing but the quality of the material and the work that goes in, then it's worth the price.

We saw the Bath Fitter commercials on TV and going back a number of years we saw one of their trucks parked in front of one of our neighbors houses and we were in the market to have something done to our bathroom so we contacted them. That was many years ago. Since then we've used them five times. They came in and did one. Then we did the downstairs. That's two. Then they put in the tank of water here for us that was three. Then they did the upstairs bathroom, that was four and we just redid the upstairs bathroom. So that's five.
All of the their sales representatives were very good but the last one was very knowledgeable. He knew his stuff and he answered all our questions. He made the sales pitch, the promotion and the proposal and it was fine. We signed up on the spot... There were five different installers in five different times, of course. They all did what appeared to be a standard procedure like protecting the floors and putting plastic over the windows. They all did their jobs and I don't think we have had anyone come back for anything other than re-caulking at some point but we were happy with the whole process.
They were very good. They are very capable, knowledgeable and neat. The only downside I must say is I find their pricing to be just a little too high. The Bath Fitter product was good and everything worked. There haven't been any issues with the water leaking. However, I was frustrated with their sales rep. My dad had a stroke and we initially talked to the salesman about a year ago. He came back in January for us to talk about it but Mom and Dad were not ready to do anything then and my dad was at a rehab facility. When it got closer to the time for him to be home, we called the salesman back and he was about an hour and a half away. I actually just spoke to a person who made appointments and he said that he could be there in about an hour or so. I leave my work to go meet the salesman and he has none of the paperwork from the previous measurements. We had to do everything again. Had he had called me before he came, I would have known to go to my house to get the paperwork and meet him at my parents’ home. It was very frustrating and he was not apologetic at all. It took him almost 2 hours to do it wasting my time.
When we got it all done and signed the papers, it took another 2 weeks and I had to follow up for them to make the appointment for the install. The person that came and installed the tub was very kind. My mom was there and he was very polite to her. It took him more than a day which was fine. We knew that it was a possibility and didn't have a problem with that. He was very clean. He cleaned up all the tools and supplies and put them in the shower so that they were out of the way of the toilet and the sink and my mom could use the bathroom. He was great. We decided that it was time to remodel our bathroom because the home is old. It was built in the 70s and the bathtub was in sad shape. It was starting to rust and it was either replace the bathtub, which is quite expensive, or modernize the whole bathtub, the walls and so forth and so on. We got special doors, sliders. The tile lookalike goes higher than the normal tiles. They did it in a couple of different forms and it looks very nice. It's got a handle in the far right hand corner. It's got a place for shampoo and soap and so forth.
The sales representative initially called me when the job was done and I said it looks very nice. And then about three or four weeks later, I noticed that I was getting some mildew around the drain. So I used some bleach with that and it went away. And I took a close look at it and it was actually cracked in the fiberglass that they used, where the drain is. So we called them at least three or four times to schedule someone to come out and look at it. I had my brother-in-law look at it and he's very familiar. He's a contractor and he says, "Yeah, it looks like either they used too small of a drain or they tightened it too tight, and that caused the cracking." Right where the water drops out of the spout, that's where it happens.
It happened again where I got mildew and called them again. I said, "You're going to have to look at this because I'm not happy with it." Finally, I got a guy out here. The branch manager came and he looked at it last week and he agreed that it's got these small cracks on the one particular side of the spout, the drain. So he felt that the only fix other than tearing it all up again would be to make a bigger fitting that would sort of hide the cracks and they will put some caulking underneath there so they won't get any works. I got a call from them today and they were scheduling a guy to come here on Monday in the afternoon to repair it.
As far as the installation, the workmanship is good, the caulking is very good, the doors are a little heavy and high, and the appearance is very nice. So if you were a five-foot tall woman, you would never be able to touch the top. You'd have to stand on a stool of some sort to clean the top of the chrome where the sliders are. You got to remember it's the slider on top of an existing tub. So you've got that height from the tub plus the sliders. The glass for the sliders is quite high, not the old, normal type, probably another 6 to 8 inches taller than the old-fashioned type of sliders that you would buy at Home Depot. I wouldn't even recognize the cracks hadn't it gotten mildew on it.

I'm not thrilled with it but I got to live with it now because I put the money into it. My experience with the sales representative was very bad. He promised all kinds of things that he couldn't provide. And when the little guy got here to install it, he said, "Oh, no, you don't get that, Oh, no, that doesn't happen." I was not a real happy camper. I had to have glass put around the top part of it and the glass door. She said she wanted to build a relationship with a new glass company so I had made an appointment with them.
They were supposed to come the same day Bath Fitters was here for the installation to measure and then come three days later or within a week to complete it. That company called me that day like an hour before they were supposed to show up and canceled the appointment. They asked me to reschedule. I said, "Not on your life." So I had to call another glass company that Bath Fitter uses on a regular basis and get them to come out but I couldn't get them to come out for a month and a half. I didn't use my new shower for a month and a half. It was a hassle. It was a nightmare I didn't need.

I love the new shower with bench done by Bath Fitter. It's the best thing I've ever done to my house since I bought my house. I went to a home improvement show and Bath Fitter had a display there and I talked with the lady there. I had talked with others because I had been looking about redoing my tub into a shower and I decided Bath Fitter would best fit my needs. The sales representative was wonderful. She knew what she was talking about and could answer all my questions. The installer was outstanding. He was very, very professional and he knew what he was doing. And I thoroughly enjoyed having him here in my house. He was great and cleaned up after himself. Anytime anybody wants to come and see my Bath Fitter bathroom, they are welcome to come because it's very professional and very well done.

We had the tub, the walls and the ceiling done by Bath Fitter. They were recommended to us by a friend who was in the plumbing industry. The sales representative came to our house just once. It definitely felt like it was a step-by-step selling process but he was a nice guy. He was doing his job. The installer was nice as well, and quick. There was some stuff on like the wooden floor outside of the bathroom I noticed, like little particles but nothing like overwhelmingly bad. However, we definitely are walking away with it feeling like it maybe overpriced even though we talked the price down. Maybe we should have shopped around for better prices because it was just very expensive. Our water makes a whistling noise when it comes out.
My husband had called and scheduled someone to come out and fix it. He came and he supposedly fixed it but then it still whistled. And then when he came out again, my husband didn't tell me when he was going to come so he came and no one was home. So we still haven't resolved the issue. It's like a high-pitched whistle.

Four years ago we had a bath install. Very happy and the staff were friendly and professional. SPOILER ALERT. We keep that tub clean but are starting to have mold growing around the caulking. BUT WAIT, the floor of the tub is popping up. It started at the back of the tub as a creaking, now the floor pops up wherever you step. Will it crack? Think twice folks, you get fooled when it's brand new.

We went to a home show in Charlotte and Bath Fitter had a display there. They explained what they did and it looked good so we went with it. We had one of them big garden tubs and we went with just a deeper, soaking tub that took up a lot less room. And they took out the tile in the shower and put the shower things up that they do, and we got glass doors. The sales representative's name was Sam. He was really good and thorough. He gave us an estimate and the final tally was about that. There wasn't any more money. He explained it quite well. Two guys came to do the install and they were pretty good. They worked well together. It took them two days and it worked out quite well too. They did the plumbing and the valves.
There was one problem. They subcontract out for the glass doors. It took three tries before we got the glass doors correct. The doors were big and heavy, and it kept falling off. And one time it started ripping the paneling or the shower stall. But Bath Fitter did come back and they fixed that so that they could put the doors back on. Everything came out in the wash, but it wasn't their fault. It was who they subcontract. It was a good experience.

I'm getting a little old in age now and having trouble stepping in and out of the tub. I fell a couple of times so it was time to take the tub out and put in a walk-in shower. My daughter saw the Bath Fitter ad in the newspaper or magazine and we called. The lady from Bath Fitter that came by and talked to me was very cordial and very nice. She explained everything in detail which made me happy. They sent one man and he took care of the whole thing and he was very knowledgeable, very polite, and did a terrific job. It was a very good experience.

It was past time to remodel and our shower area was all falling apart. I heard Bath Fitter was very good so I got them a month ago. The sales representative I got to talk to was fine, very courteous, very nice and very knowledgeable. The contractor was also excellent, nice fellow, very pleasant and very professional.

I have to say this is a CONTRITE company! I have received more sincere apologies than I expected. Best of all, our installer was here bright and early and is doing an amazing job, especially considering he's dealing with an old house with zero even angles. His supervisor came by to see how things were going and give me a lovely gift. Totally unnecessary, but very much appreciated. All is looking good and I'm anticipating a wonderful final project. These are nice people to deal with, even when having to deal with an angry lady! If there are any problems with the new tub, I'm sure I can get them resolved with no issues.
Just an FYI, ask your salesman to book an alternative date just in case.

I had an install scheduled for today and got a call saying my installer was ill and I would have to reschedule. I have planned my week around this day and moving it is a huge inconvenience. I have made two calls to my salesperson and have, as yet, received a call back. While I understand issues occur, it bothers me that there are no substitute installers and my schedule is disrupted because of it. I was told their installers are booked solid, but that should not be my problem. I'm hoping some sort of consideration will be made because of this complete disruption.
Hi Tammy, thanks for your review. We're so pleased the issue with your installation has been resolved! If you have any further questions, please write to us at customercare@bathfitter.com, thank you!

I heard about Bath Fitter through my sister. She had it. I decided to have them remodel my bathroom because I found it very difficult to get in and out of the tub. I got the walk-in shower. The sales rep was very good. They told me just what they would do and what to expect. I had no problem with them and with the one who installed it. I find the walk-in shower very helpful for me now that I have it.

I decided to go with Bath Fitter since one of my friends, a couple in the neighborhood, had used them and they were very satisfied. I’ve been thinking about remodeling since I moved in four years ago because the tub was always a problem and I wanted to make it a shower. One man came and did everything. I can’t say enough about him. It was the cleanest construction I’ve ever had in my home. The man was absolutely careful about everything. He was careful about putting his tools in the hall so he didn’t mark the woodwork or the walls. He was just great. Bath Fitter was a little more expensive than I had thought but the results are excellent. I’m angry with myself that I didn’t do it sooner and everyone that comes thinks it looks very professionally done.

I had a tub installed at my apartment by Bath Fitter. I didn't even bother looking for another remodeling company because Bath Fitter is very well known. I see them on TV and in magazines. The sales representative was very nice and so was the guy that put the tub in. I had no complaints whatsoever and they did a fantastic job. The tub looks beautiful. We haven’t used it yet because I’m trying to rent my apartment; it’s still open.

I had Bath Fitter install a tub and shower. I knew they existed for many years, and I knew exactly what I wanted and we needed something like that. I contacted another contractor but felt this was the best for the money. The installation team was very professional. I could tell he does this five days a week. He was organized and put everything in place - it's like clockwork. He was very good.
