    Having just had the system installed, it is going to take some getting used to. So far I like what I am seeing. The video and images and very clear both day and night. The deter feature is nice.     My account was set up improperly and my name was misspelled. The new install account wasn’t originally linked with our master account which created confusion all around until we got it fixed. We were on the phone for over an hour and transferred 8 times before it was finally resolved. It seems it’s not common for people to have multiple properties in different states. Ultimately it was a mixture of backend support, website settings, and mobile app settings that enabled the appropriate user experience to be presented. The pieces are all there but they just weren’t stitched together very well. It’s all working now except the quoted discounts weren’t applied for early payoff.

    We had an alarm system, cameras, keyless entry lock installed. While the service rep was nice enough, he did not activate the keyless entry. We are seniors and do not understand technology very well. Our daughter-in-law Adriana was there to make sure we received the right equipment but she had to leave before he was done installing it. The tech gave us the keys to the entry and said that Adriana would be back to teach us. Of course she was expecting to go over what the tech had already showed us, but instead, she found that he not only failed to teach us the system, he did not activate the keyless entry and he did not install the app on our telephones.

    Adriana had to call customer service to activate the keyless entry, teach us how to use all the features of the alarm such as the cameras, stay, emergency features, the keyless entry and she had to install the app on both my husband's and my phone and teach us how to use it. While of course she did not mind helping us, we were all very surprised that the tech thought it was a family member's job to finish his work.

    My installation assistant, Jaden, was wonderful; professional, patient and courteous. However, I was quite miffed when he informed me that part of the Installation process required taking out a LOAN for the equipment for the term of 60 months! A real loan where my credit report would have to be accessed. Either take out the loan or spend over $600 buying the equipment outright. I found it silly to take out a loan for this amount and opted to pay for it. However, shame on you Vivint! This setup was not disclosed when the sales associate first spoke to me. It places the consumer in an awkward position to choose and I didn’t appreciate this being sprung on me without the proper time to consider my options. This should really be discussed when the sales representative is so enthusiastically getting you to sign up. It left a really sour taste in my mouth for the company. And again, this was no fault of Jaden, who was great.

Still unsure what the monthly charges are for equipment and how and where to obtain buy-out of existing contract.     My technician was super nice, mannerable, and professional. He communicated well throughout the entire process. From calling me to let me know he finished another job an hr before my scheduled time to walking me through the steps of setting the Vivint system up. However, he was unable to connect to the internet on any of the Nest systems he installed, and on top of that he placed the nest system on top of another previous thermostat background. It looks very tacky. He did pretty much did the same thing with the smart lock. He replaced my original lock with a very bulky GOLD door handle/knob when the previous one was silver/nickel to match the house and other fixtures. I was specifically asked what color my door handles were just for him to still bring the incorrect one.

    To top it all off, my house is brand new. He left scuffs marks, dents, and dirt marks on the walls almost everywhere he worked inside the house AND he left all his trash from installing equipment on the floor. He continued to wear his muddy boots in the house after being told to remove them upon entering. I now NEED a paint touchup throughout the house after Vivint's visit. Just ridiculous!!
