    Jake ** was great and helped me put together a system that will accommodate my needs. Your install tech was not skilled enough to accomplish this task. He initially told me he could do the install the way I wanted. Then he didn’t have the right tools. When he left, my deadbolt was not installed, and one of my cameras would not stay online and still doesn’t work. I asked him to secure all the cables he ran under the house to the floor joists. He just left all the wire laying on the ground. He was supposed staple the cable to the door frame to hide it, but it comes through the wall and just hangs. This is right next to my front door (picture attached). Again, I asked him to secure it, but he lost his staple gun… Lastly, he tried to use a multi-plug under my house to power some outdoor cameras (picture attached) and this looks like a fire hazard as well as the plug doesn’t seat properly and the camera loses power. I am really disappointed with my install….

    I was rather in a hurry for the sales presentation, but glad I listened and signed up. The equipment is definitely an improvement from what I have had. So, so far, so good. I am happy with this system. I like the extra outside cameras. I like the way the system communicates with each part and the ease of operation on the associated app. I like that the thermostat is controllable from the app and it looks sleek and is an essential step to a smart home. I like the ease of use of the door lock (keypad) and that it can be programmed to speak, or not, to the home security setting. The main control panel is easy to use and looks great on the wall. In the short time I’ve had the Vivint system (1week) I can say I like it, a lot, the equipment, looks and ease of use.

    Lots of moving parts to coordinate, but after three tries the provider was able to get us set up. The final tech was very smart and knowledgeable but the first two techs were sweet but not able to get the system to work when our internet was not installed yet. I wonder if two trips could have been avoided with better information from the office before the wasted trips to my house regarding the lack of internet and what to do in that situation.

    I felt that I was forced into something that was not at all what they explained to me. Most of the details was left out until it was time to sign an agreement that had way more stipulations than I was lead to believe. First I was not informed that I would be applying for credit to purchase the equipment that I would be receiving. The representative only stated I would be paying a certain amount a month and whenever I wanted to cancel services I could do so with no penalty. Which is in fact not true. I would be liable for the equipment until paid off. Then I was forced into putting my banking info on the account. The rep hit the back button on the tablet and made me go locate my bank info and I felt really uncomfortable about this. When the technician came he better explained to me what was going on and that I am in a 60 month agreement.

    I'm not saying this a bad company but the representatives are very misleading and I myself personally will not be sending anyone to do business with this company. If I was told upfront that I was gonna have a hard pull on my credit and was not lied to about being in 60 month agreement then I would have had the opportunity to say yes or no, but I wasn't given the opportunity to. I was bamboozled by this sales representative if you ask me.

This was not the simple straightforward evolution. There a number of detours required for correct operation. Really no way I would have been successful.     Had problems from the first day. Don't have enough space to put all the problems with this system. First problem, main camera driveway, couldn't see at night, image to dark. They changed the camera after I complained. Asked the tech if internet went down, would the system still work? He said it would still record but the phone app will otherwise not connect. My ISP had a schedule outage, camera did not record and my vehicle was violated that night. If there's a power outages system will not work. With this in mind, people that know of this vulnerability can turn the power off the house to get access to the home. Still have many other issues. The system work intermittently. The finding are after the fact when checking the system it didn't record the event. The panel will not show any history but the current day. Very upset about the whole system.

    Overall the security system products & related services are great - a major upgrade from the archaic security system (ADT) we had prior. However, the sales guy knocked on our door at 7pm right as we were making dinner which was terribly inconvenient so he offered to come back earlier the next day. His first pitch was that we could do a trial of one or two new Vivint products and it would be added to our existing system for the trial, but before I knew it, he was getting us set up as new vivint customers and scheduling the full installation for that same day. I tried to stop and ask why we were getting the full system vs the trial products but the sales guy was not clear and brushed past my concerns. While this system is way better than what we had before & better value for only a slightly higher monthly rate, I felt like I was getting the run-around on being offered the products as a trial vs. installing and starting service with vivint (i.e. no trial).

    As far as install, the tech didn’t really take the time to explain what he was doing, what it would entail, and why. He barely explained the things I signed off on. To add insult to injury, he did not clean up after himself - he left drywall dust and wood shavings all over from installing the sensors on our doors. He left the empty boxes that the components came in all over our house. For being rated the #1 security company in customer service, I don’t think we received A+ install service. The tech seemed like a great guy and all, just poor training/etiquette.
