Their customer service is the absolute worst! I cancelled my service in May because I sold my house. They tried to charge me in September and I’m still fighting with them in November. Don’t sign up with them because it’s a bitch to cancel!

This experience was great. Working with Kenneth ** was pleasant. He was very professional and patient. He took time to truthfully explain the equipment, packages, fees, and promotions. I look forward to being a Vivint customer and would recommend the company simply from the experience with Mr. **, which is why this is a 5star rating.
However, I'm extremely disappointed with the agent that initially contacted me regarding services due to misguided information related to promotions, length/limited time with the promotion, package, etc. I believe that's it imperative that the FIRST interaction from Vivint should be truthful and not to just gain a sale. This can make it difficult for the person responsible for the installation as time is then spent to reverse and reexplain false information. Again, the experience with Mr. ** was amazing. Initial contact, needs work.

I called for quotes for cameras, motion sensors and installation for a alarm system. After speaking with the representative Barb I really liked her attitude and communication skills! We put together a really good package whereas my husband and I were pleased. The date for installing was fast and the installer was excellent. He assisted us in answering questions and was very knowledgeable about the equipment and installation. I would rate both the sales representative and the installer a 10. Very friendly, polite, respectful and professional. I have no complaints. Everything was explained, The tech, Lincoln, had showed me how to work the main monitor and he had also so helped me to set up the app on my phone and how to access the cameras. I was really pleased. And Nelson the agent that had signed me up did a great job of explaining and made sure everything ran smoothly. He also made himself available if I had any questions or problems.

Very unhappy. We have had Vivent since 2015. They came for an update/upgrade. The first time the installer came, he argued with us about what we were getting. He actually put his tablet in my husband’s face and said, “Look. Look,” treating him like an idiot. We told him we would just cancel and he could leave. My husband called Vivint to cancel and they corrected everything. The installer was scheduled to come back. He returned two hours later than the scheduled time. He wasn’t rude but he also wasn’t cordial by any means. He installed a new panel, a doorbell, and two cameras. No door sensors were installed though. It doesn’t make much sense to me to have a security panel but nothing to “alarm” them if someone breaks in. How will they know? What is the point?
When the installer left, he left his mess as well. Around the panel were all the boxes, scrap wires, and debris from drilling the holes. Around each of the cameras outside was the same. He simply walked away. I regret not taking pictures before I cleaned his mess. Also, since he was late arriving, we had to leave for a scheduled appointment before he finished. He told my husband that it was no problem. Our adult son was here to finish up with him. He complained to our son that he “really needed my husband to be there and he should not have left.” This is NOT good service from a company we have used for 10 years. We expected more.

Sales representative and installer were both informative, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the product. Both were able to address my questions and concerns. I had used Vivint about 10-12 years ago. We cancelled the account as it had gotten too expensive. Current pricing is much more reasonable.

I had the pleasure of meeting a young man that was promoting the Vivint security system. I'm quick to send people away but he showed me how clear the cameras were and his knowledge of answering all my questions got my attention. We ended up becoming a customer. The installer was friendly, quick and gave us a quick and easy crash course on how to use the app to manage the system. I recommend this company to anyone who is interested in protecting their home. I've already told a few people.

The tech did a great job explaining what he needed to do, and steps that needed to be taken. Overall very helpful. The only opportunity was he didn’t clean up after himself. There was wood shavings and debris from the wall drillings. My cats were very curious and started trying to eat the debris, until I cleaned up. Reason for 4 star rating.

I’ve been with Vivint for over 5 years and have paid more than $4,000 for equipment that has never consistently worked. Throughout my entire time with the company, we dealt with constant issues — sensors failing, devices disconnecting, equipment malfunctioning, and multiple replacements that still didn’t fix the problems. Despite years of frustration, none of this history seemed to matter to Vivint.
When we recently moved, we were told to leave our equipment behind because Vivint would replace everything at our new home. We followed their instructions, only to later be told that they would not be replacing the equipment as promised. Instead, they offered a small credit that didn’t come close to covering what we left behind, and we were expected to pay the difference out of pocket.
To make things worse, we were initially quoted a lower monthly rate, but when we called back to finalize the move, Vivint suddenly claimed that price was “no longer available.” No explanation, no accountability — just a higher bill and fewer options. After years of dealing with faulty equipment, multiple service calls, and constant issues, Vivint’s lack of concern or responsibility is extremely disappointing. The inconsistent information, broken promises, lack of communication between customer service make this company very difficult to trust. I would not recommend Vivint to anyone looking for reliable security or honest service

Beware. Do Not Deal With This Company. They lie to you and make up a false name of company to ruin you credit and go through all the steps then make up another name and do it again. I keep an eye on my credit and reported them they took it off thank god. No way they have a good a good rating with all the lawsuits against them. They are horrible people.

I had their systems installed at two addresses in Aug. 2025. The systems routinely failed to notify me of large animals (moose) in my yard, despite their claims that their systems pick up animals over 65 pounds. In addition, the system began failing to notify me about vehicles entering and leaving my driveway. Also, it would regularly fail to 'notify' me when I moved from my vehicle to my door, or vice-versa. In addition, they assured me that I would receive one bill, despite having equipment at two locations. That was NOT the case, they were billing me separately for each location. It took them over a month to remove the equipment when I notified them I wished to cancel service.

I have been a loyal Vivint customer for over 15 years. Following the sale of my home, I needed to cancel my service. What should have been a simple process has become an incredibly frustrating ordeal. I have made at least 4 phone calls, each one involving an endless script of questions and attempts to dissuade me from asking why I'm canceling to suggesting I transfer the service. Each call takes 10-15 minutes, yet the cancellation is still not finalized, and I continue to receive bills. My experience serves as a strong warning: while it's easy to sign up, canceling is needlessly difficult. I would advise anyone to consider this significant hurdle before committing to Vivint.

Literally so ridiculous! Complete scam. DO NOT buy. The contract are all scams. The salesman told me I have 30 days to return. I called within the 30 days and they told me I electronically signed a 7 days return notice which I did not. I remember I was very skeptical about the whole thing so I read what I was needing to sign carefully. I have a feeling they moved my signature around on new documents.

The system has just been installed, so I have not yet had the opportunity to fully utilize it. I am having problems with the backyard camera; it will not connect. I appreciate the technicians trying to complete the installation as quickly as they could; I wasn't pleased with them being on-site until 11:15 p.m.

If home security had an Avengers roster, Howard from Vivint would be front and center, cape optional but implied. He pulled up 15-20 minutes early, walked in with the calm energy of someone who knows he’s about to fix your whole life, and then proceeded to do exactly that. No upsell shenanigans, no tech-bro ego — just skill, patience, and vibes. He walked me through every feature like he was teaching a friend how not to get robbed by the universe. He even made the app setup feel like a victory lap.
Howard climbed ladders like they owed him money, wired things so clean it looked like architectural art, and didn’t leave until every camera, sensor, and notification was singing in perfect harmony. And when he said, “Call me if you ever need anything,” it somehow felt genuine — not the fake goodbye customer service energy we all know too well. Long story short, Howard didn’t just install a security system — he installed peace. The kind that makes you sleep harder than a toddler in a car seat. If Vivint has employee of the month plaques, they better start clearing wall space.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM, GET RING CAMERAS/DEVICES. I bought my second home about a year ago. We planned to use this home as a Airbnb when we are not using it. The vivant rep was very pushy to get me to sign up and pretty much flat out lied about what their system can do. I was very specific that I only wanted the automated door locks with key pad entry and the thermostat. The tech took all afternoon to install these items(i had to teach him how to match the keys on the Kwikset locks). We had nothing but issues after this. The connection to the main hub was very spotty. Half the time we weren't able to access the door bell cameras or change codes on the doors.
About a month goes by and one of my airbnb guests tells me there is an alarm going off. Turns out the idiot tech had installed water and fire sensors as well even though I only requested doorbell cams, door locks and thermostat. We live 1000 miles away and it was such a hassle to get another tech out there to remove these items. Vivant claimed they were going to reimburse me for the sensors they installed and charged me for. Never received that. To sum this up. This company is a joke. Their equipment barely works and it requires an expensive monthly subscription to work. So many better options out there. Steer clear.

I had a great install experience with Vivint! Our technician, Maurice, showed up on time and started asking what I expected from my home security system. I showed him the one we had installed years before, where it fell short, and what I wanted as a fix. He made some additional recommendations, but it wasn’t an aggressive upsell. I accepted some of his recommendations.
The previous company refused to install the camera on my driveway and another facing my basement door, stating that they would have to drill through the foundation. Maurice installed them with no problems. I also had connectivity issues in the past between the old panel and the attached sensors, and they persisted when the panel was replaced. This new system is fully connected and is more streamlined. That is, I have more control of every aspect of my system, where I did not have that same access with the old company.
Maurice also gave us a live demonstration of the security system, which went way beyond just showing us how to arm and disarm. This security system install was a refreshing experience compared to others I’ve had with other providers. The technician was well trained in all devices and didn’t have to call back to the main office to ask questions, which happened a lot before. I highly recommend Vivint, and I’m grateful to the sales representative, Daxton, who came by our house months ago to tell us about Vivint’s services.

Had Vivint for several years and they were ok - not great, not terrible. When we decided to move I contacted them to cancel service. I have NEVER had such a hard time trying to discontinue a service. We were no longer under contract and I simply wanted to cancel. They absolutely suck!!! They will continue to charge you and ask a million questions, why you are cancelling, can the next residents take over, where you are moving, none of which is their business and in the meantime they keep billing you. They tell you that it takes 30 days to cancel because they have to "review" everything. I will not continue paying for a service I cancelled over a month ago and I will never recommend this company to anyone. Charging for a cancelled service seems to me to be illegal?

The procedure started May 2014. We were lied to by salesman and found out after contract was signed, then it’s too late to cancel. We kept system until May 2025. Changed company and Informed Vivint of our change of service by email, US Mail and via telephone. And now 8 months later they have turned me over for collection. Know that the system is gone, equipment gone and they can’t monitor our home. Have talked to them, and they will cancel service if I pay the charges for service I don’t have. Talked to collections company and they knew nothing about my story! Apparently they lie to collections company as well. DO NO NOT USE VIVINT!

I would NOT recommend Vivint to my worst enemy. I have been a customer since 2019. In the early days, I had some type of system failure at least monthly. I would have to call in so they could reset something or download an “upgrade”. Their “go to” solution was that I could buy new equipment that was more reliable. I eventually paid off the equipment and called to cancel my monitoring service. They were quick to cut my fee in half so I agreed to try it a little longer. Soon another camera went out and the only solution was to by a new one. NO THANKS! I canceled my monitoring service. They billed me anyways.
I called again to cancel. They billed me again. There is no way to remove your credit card from the auto pay system and they obviously weren’t going to do it so I was forced to cancel that CC. At the end of the day, they took an additional 4 months of fees, disabled the app, and continue to harass me for payment. They are not to be trusted. Buyer beware!

I was on the phone with my bank, and I don’t have a doorbell. The Vivint installer knocked on my door and I didn’t hear him because I’m at the back of the house. He waited outside for 30 minutes. Then I read the text that they had sent me letting me know that he had been here and I called and asked if he could come back. Within 15 to 30 minutes, he called me and asked if I was home and could he come over and install the doorbell and smart thermostat. I told him yes I was here. He was here within FIVE minutes. Very nice young gentleman, he explained everything to me, let me ask questions and he answered them.
I can’t say how the system works because today is the first day that I have had it, but from what I have seen it’s going to be wonderful. The smart thermostat is really smart and the doorbell camera gives a very wide view of my whole front yard and driveway and it also lets me know if a package been delivered. If someone comes up on the porch, you’ll get notified and, if you want, you can have a two-way conversation with the person on your porch, or just yell at them to get away from your package. Our installer, Victor, is very competent! He is so knowledgeable and professional and thorough. He worked quickly and made sure he was not in our way. He installed wires in places that are out of the way, so the wires wouldn’t be seen. He and his assistant cleaned everything up as they went along. He made sure we understood everything before he left. He even gave us his phone number in case something goes wrong. I would definitely hire him again.

My installation was a nightmare. I didn’t get what was promised to Me when I agreed to go with Vivint. The Guy who did the installation did more talking then work too way too long to do the job. Once he started talking, He tried to upsell me nearly 5,000 more dollars. After him begging for drinks, he used my guest bathroom and totally backed up my toilet and didn’t tell me. I had to call a professional plumber to get it straightened. I asked for a supervisor to call me to this day, no one has called yet. One last thing, one of my cameras went off all night until the next day. It took them 2 days to send someone out to look at them. My advice go with anyone other than Vivint.

New panel doesn’t have much of a difference from the previous panel as far as features go. I was told that installation fees were waived. The activation fee was waived. I didn’t like that my credit report was pulled twice, soft and hard credit check in one transaction.

The Sales rep that came to my house to offer me Vivint was super friendly. Not pushy towards anything I didn't want. (He did offer still which is always nice). Answered all my questions thoroughly and also focused on being human and creating a friendship rather than just making a sale. Great person all around. As far as the installation of Vivint went I was super pleased. The install team was in and out all while respecting my home. The service was terrible. I've been with Vivint six years. My truck was broken into right in front of my house. The cameras didn't catch it. The techs has no experience. They came out multiple times for the same issue. Their answer to everything is to buy updated equipment. They regard for time.. appointment means nothing. Schedule the day off. My doorbell camera was lying on the porch when I came home. There was no call to tell me it was off line. I discovered it myself. Their response was, "Do you want to purchase a new one." It was placed less than a month ago by their tech for the second time. Negative star it was an option.

After going through a break in to my vehicle in my driveway Vivint was able to return my family’s peace of mind. After waking up to my package being stolen within 30 min of delivery and discovering that the only security camera that doesn’t work is the one by my apartment. After talking to the front office, they gave me the go ahead to put up a Ring camera. I immediately went onto Google. Found this company on Google. I called the number and got set up with an appointment very fast. The guy that came to my apartment was very friendly, very diligent, very nice and he explained everything word for word. Love the system, but, they're failing to honor our agreement. So, after 3 months, I'm cancelling the service. The sale and installation for me were both problematic. There were Vivint sales people competing against each other for my business which I felt was a little strange in spite of me telling them I was already working with a Vivint sales person. The install date was missed. They had to be called back after the initial install, and, finally, after only 3 MONTHS, a problem with billing. That was too much. We have been with Vivint for 7 years. How sad for us to recently find out how deceitful Vivint security service truly is. They promise you things over and over again but only to milk you dry. We were going to cancel our service when they talked us into a free doorbell upgrade and for an additional $169 they would upgrade our outdoor camera plus they would waive the technician's fee of $99. You tell me... How does $169 all of a sudden become $531.98 plus $31 in tax?

Do not buy into Vivint, their service is expensive and their equipment is cheap and substandard, so is their customer service. Hub constantly goes offline, cameras don't connect half the time, even when the alarm or went off the hub wouldn't cancel, the remote didn't cancel, I called and they customer service to cancel the alarm and they still sent cops to my house while I'm on the phone with them.. So after paying off the garbage equipment, we decide to cancel them all together. 3 hours, yes, 3 hours later we finally got it canceled. First "customer service" person wouldn't do anything, kept trying to save us money, get us new equipment, send a tech out but not terminate our agreement. After several calls transferred, and 3 way calls and calls to their bank. They finally got it canceled.. I've never felt more held hostage from someone I had been paying for service in my life.

Our experience with Vivint has been awful from start to finish. The sale was done over the phone, and I was told in writing that the installation fee would be waived and the equipment cost split into four payments. Neither promise was honored—I was charged the full amount in two payments and billed for installation anyway. When the technician came out, he installed only about 40% of the equipment, put both smoke/CO₂ detectors on the same floor (leaving other levels unprotected), and left us with ceiling repairs to fix. He was also rude and condescending to my wife. He never walked us through how to use anything, even though Vivint’s own contract requires it.
They confirmed a second installation appointment to finish the job but never showed up. For the third appointment, they promised—literally used the word “promise”—not to send the same technician, yet sent him anyway. He was in my house for two minutes, looked at the panel, set off the alarm, told me I’d get a refund and cancellation, and then left. No refund ever came. I’ve now spent more than 20 hours on the phone trying to resolve this. Vivint’s service has been dishonest, disorganized, and disrespectful from top to bottom. Save yourself the time, stress, and frustration—go with a company that actually values its customers.

I am writing to formally file a complaint against Vivint Smart Home due to repeated and unacceptable experiences with their customer service and billing practices. This is the second time I’ve encountered serious issues with Vivint. The problems include: Unauthorized overbilling: I have been charged for services I did not authorize, and attempts to resolve these charges have been met with confusion and resistance. Poor customer service: Representatives consistently lack the ability to communicate effectively, making it extremely difficult to resolve even basic issues.
Disrespect for customers’ time: Long hold times, repeated transfers, and being disconnected when asking for a supervisor are common. On multiple occasions, I’ve been routed to a dead line that simply hangs up. Lack of accountability: Despite numerous attempts to escalate my concerns, I have yet to speak with a supervisor or receive any meaningful resolution. It is unbelievable that a company operating in the home security industry—where trust and reliability are paramount—is allowed to continue treating customers this way. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated, and I am requesting that the BBB investigate Vivint’s practices and hold them accountable.

My technician’s incompetence caused significant inconvenience. He installed a sensor on the sliding door, rendering it inoperable. Despite my repeated attempts to contact him, he remained unresponsive. Consequently, I contacted Vivint, and a technician has been dispatched to rectify the issue. Vivint Smart Home misrepresented services and failed to provide essential equipment and support, leaving my household without a functioning thermostat and without heating or air conditioning for over a week. Vivint Smart Home contacted me under the pretense of a promotional visit for solar panels. During the visit, the technician offered to install a free smart thermostat as part of the home security system installation. At no point did the technician disclose that he would rewire my home’s thermostat to function exclusively with Vivint equipment, effectively disabling my ability to use any standard thermostat on the market. On October 23, 2025, my thermostat completely stopped working — the display went blank, and I was unable to control temperature, view settings, or use heating/cooling. I immediately contacted Vivint technical support, who directed me to Lowe’s/Vivint product support to determine a replacement.
I was informed that no compatible replacements were available in stores in Arkansas and that one would need to be mailed to me, with a 5–7 business day shipping delay. I requested expedited or overnight shipping given the circumstances (no functioning climate control), but was told this was not possible. On Friday, October 24, 2025, I received a DHL eCommerce tracking number (#**) — however, only the shipping label was created, and the package was never shipped. When I contacted Vivint on Saturday, October 25, they confirmed the warehouse was closed on weekends and promised to follow up Monday to ensure shipment.
By Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the package still had not shipped. Vivint representatives falsely claimed it was “in transit,” while DHL confirmed they never received the package. This lack of transparency, accountability, and urgency is completely unacceptable. My family has been left without heating or cooling for over a week, all due to Vivint’s equipment, poor communication, and deceptive installation practices.

We are very disappointed. We chose the smart thermostat as part of the package but once it was installed our AC stopped working. Another technician, which was supposed to be a manager, was supposed to come and fix the situation but no one came. We had to open some windows during the night to help keep the house cool. We haven’t even received a call or a message.

I lost my home as well as equipment in a fire. I called, informed them of this, they told me I had to finish paying off the loan with Citizens Bank for the equipment, no problem, I cancelled my service and Vivint a year later is still charging me for services not provided. 8 called and cancelled multiple times yet they still have been taking a monthly payment for service not rendered even Citizens Bank said the account was paid off and closed and vivint sales says I have to cancel the service, again they have not provided a service at that address since 6/24. They suck. Now I'm fighting for a refund and they keep giving me the run around. Filing a complaint with the BBB and get this they still try to sell me a package. How do they think it's ok to take people's money knowing they're not providing a service. It's called stealing. They suck

Complaint about Vivint. Botched Vivint Installation. I started the Vivint service in August 2024 with a fresh installation. However, about a year later, I started having all 4-door sensors fail. When I contacted Vivint, they discovered the sensors were from their competitor. Their installer botched Vivint's installation by failing to install their sensors. Instead of Vivint resolving the issue by installing the sensors included in the original setup, they wanted me to pay $200 for 4 sensors. After multiple discussions with the loyalty department, we got nowhere. I got offers to pay for the sensors, get three sensors free, pay for 1, and finally replace all the sensors for free.
Lastly, the loyalty person agreed to send an installer to verify the list of equipment installed and replace the four sensors. The next day, when the technician arrived, he installed a repeater and did not replace the failed sensors. The initial install issue has never been resolved, and after multiple attempts, I am forced to cancel with Vivint to get a reliable alarm system.

This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. Vivint does not operate with integrity, honesty, or fairness. It all began when I sold my second home back in 2022. I reached out to Vivint to cancel the service tied to that property and even provided proof of the sale — yet they refused to let me out of the contract. Their reason? Because I still owed on the equipment (which I was never late on), they said I had to keep paying for service at a home I no longer owned. They offered to move the equipment, but I already had service at my new home, and the new owners didn’t want it. Despite all that, Vivint made me pay for three years of service on a house that wasn’t even mine anymore. That alone says everything about their priorities — profits over people.
Fast forward to this year, and I’ve been trying to cancel my current service for over two months. I’ve spent countless hours on the phone with reps who each claimed my cancellation was being processed. On September 27, 2025, I even received an email confirming my account was closed — only to get another bill right after. When I called back, I was told that my “service term wasn’t fulfilled,” even though I’ve been a customer for nearly six years and signed a five-year contract. I forwarded the email proving my account was closed, and the rep agreed Vivint should honor it. He resubmitted the cancellation request — but days later, I got another email saying my request was denied. Every time I call, I’m told I can’t speak directly to a supervisor. The last rep said she’d “waive the past due” and “escalate” the issue — but I’ve heard that line before. Nothing ever changes.
At this point, I can honestly say Vivint operates like a timeshare — they’ll do anything to keep you locked in. It’s exhausting, deceptive, and absolutely not the mark of a company with integrity. My advice: stay far away. Save yourself the stress, time, and frustration. Vivint may sell security systems, but they offer no peace of mind to their customers.

Our installer, Mike, was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He faced a few obstacles in putting our home security system in like plug placements, and doorbell transformer that did not work, but he came up with a workable solution that may have slowed him down a little but certainly didn’t stop him. I could tell he was in pain from his back, but he pushed through to completion of the job like a boss. His work ethic is a rare commodity from the younger generation and is commendable.

I regret ever signing up with Vivint. From the very beginning, they have not been upright or transparent in their dealings. I attempted to cancel my account before the 30-day trial ended, but they refused to honor the cancellation. Instead, they agreed to provide several months of free service — an agreement they have failed to uphold. It’s now been three months, and I’ve been charged every single month despite calling multiple times to remind them of what was promised. When I first asked for a breakdown of the equipment costs, I realized I was charged over $1,000 more than the actual value of the equipment.
When I again tried to cancel, they claimed they would send someone to downgrade my equipment so the cancellation could be processed — but they deliberately delayed the visit until after my 30-day window expired, making it impossible to cancel. To make matters worse, Vivint ties their equipment purchases to your credit, which makes the cancellation process even more difficult and potentially damaging to your credit score. This company uses shady, unethical practices. I would strongly recommend avoiding Vivint at all costs.

Used Vivint for about 2 years but ended needing to move out for the KC area. We had signed the equipment contract from the technician since He said it was standard. Little did we know that there are no equipment returns and if you cancel, you have to pay for the f-ing expensive panel and doorbell camera. Something to the tune of $2000 even after making monthly payments for them over 2 years already. If you ask if you can return the equipment, they use 3rd party contracts to pay off the equipment so they say they can't accept the return of the equipment. Complete and utter ripoff and not upfront about the contract details if you decide to move in 2 years. So now we have a useless panel and camera that we paid $2k for and just sitting in a box in our garage if anyone wants it for $1.

Vivint is a rip off, run away as fast as you can. The call center is in India, or somewhere like it, where you can't get answers. They will not let you cancel without paying thousands of dollars. The equipment is shoddy, giving false alerts 24/7. When a warning is given, by the time it makes it to your cell phone, there would be trespassers would be miles away.

After equipment was installed the 2nd day the door camera went offline and we did the reboot on the system and it didn’t work. I reached out to my technician Joshua and he said that I need an electrician come out to repair the transformer. I tried to call him because I was instructed but he is not responding. He also stated that he would have to run a separate wire and have it plugged into the wall. I normally don’t do these type of reviews but I feel like the service could have been a little different if it had been someone a little bit mature. It’s a lot more I can say but I digress.

I had a second appt to replace the camera and the tech said he does not have the equipment. Alarm is worth it, but not the cameras! I have 8 cameras, I'm ALWAYS having issues with them, either they're offline when they're alerting you, not allowing you to view, or when you try to view they're loading, telling you to try again but the screen is frozen, or they reset your zones and time limits without you knowing. I constantly have to have technicians come and try to figure out the problem with no answers, either it's because I dont have an iPhone, or I don't have enough internet. I had the internet checked and I have more than enough! Technical support is in another country so there's a language barrier, they try selling you more $300.00 cameras when I already have the same model and I'm trying to cancel service.

I have had Vivint for almost 10 years now with originally signing up for a 5 year commitment. They constantly try to get you to update their equipment to keep you locked in. I had a bad door sensor a couple of years ago. I called them to cancel at that time but was told they would replace the sensor for free if I didn't cancel my service. The technician lied and signed me up for another 5 years even though he told the sensor was free. No they won't allow me to cancel without paying for the remainder of the contract that I never agreed to. Stay away from Vivint as they to trap you as a customer for life.

My installation was yesterday and was not the shining vote of confidence that I made the right choice. He was a nice guy, do not get me wrong, but I was not expecting a guy to show up in a beat up Hyundai, cracks the trunk and gets going. Broken English also made it harder to ask the questions I wanted and couldn’t get the introduction to the system I wanted for my family once it was setup. I was not in the market for a new security system, it just happened. Since retiring and learning to live on a fixed income, I realized how costly appliance repair would be or even harder to replace an appliance or air or heating systems. That’s when Choice Home Warranty had an ad on the computer, very tempting about repair or replace. At the cost of a service call.
