    I waffled a little between a 4 and 5 only because we have run into some adhesive issues with the sensors resulting in them falling down and triggering the window to show open. However a 30 second super glue job did the trick and we haven't had any problems since, their service otherwise ultimately earned them a 5. Three years ago an apartment complex was developed across the street from our neighborhood. It was of no concern until the complex decided to drop background checks and their higher credit requirement cultivating a demographic with lengthy criminal records and poverty.

    One night, our dogs were violently barking at our sliding glass door staring toward the dark area of the yard, as I looked out two hooded men saw me and hopped the fence to run away. Three hours later they returned, only this time I revealed that I and my wife were armed and prepared to dial 911 to call them an ambulance. This happened at 9pm. Imagine if it were 3am. We had a Vivint Security System installed mostly due to the familiarity of the brand with the commercials and billboards, but we had heard that some security alarms go off and they never receive a phone call from the business which we almost were expecting a little.

    Life has taken unforeseen turns and we now have our aunt with dementia living in our basement apartment. It has a separate entrance and occasionally she enjoys strolling outside at 2am. Over the last year she has tripped the alarm probably 15 or so times and not a single one did Vivint fail to contact us within 30 seconds of the code not being input. Not a single time did they call and become annoyed or frustrated at the repeated false alarms. We ended up purchasing all of the equipment and enjoy the $23 monthly service charge for SIM service in case someone got sophisticated and cut the Comcast cable out back removing internet access. All in all, we've never had a problem with the system outside of the early mentioned adhesive problems that have been resolved. Highly recommend.

    I was able to talk with someone at that number, which is their customer support number, who was able to help me cancel the service. Turns out the Door to Door sales didn't lie and wasn't misinformed, he had written down the cancellation date on the paper cancellation form provided with my paperwork. The Vivint customer support reps I talked to after the first one on the 26th of August were very helpful. The first guy I talked to didn't know I had signed up from a promotion, and I didn't know the promotion included the one week free trial, so I didn't mention that when I was talking with him on the 26th.

    Overall the system is nice, the only problem we had was a faulty smoke detector that began chirping and flashing a yellow light indicating a fault. Tried changing the batteries but when I put in the last battery after about 30 seconds it chirped again, and then triggered a fire alarm when I pressed the test button, I didn't hold down the button just a quick press and release. Other than that everything worked well, and we found out our elderly neighbor likes to weed our side yard that isn't fenced in, even though she told us where the property lines are...

    I was told by the door to door salesman I had one business week to cancel the free trial with no penalty. The night our system was installed we lost enough shingles in a windstorm to justify replacing the roof. We just got the bid to replace the roof and decided to cancel the system since we can't pay for the system, the roof repair, and still save a little money. Turns out I only had 3 business days and tried to cancel by one day late. Now we have to pay for the system and a new roof because a sales man was misinformed or lied to me. I am giving 2 stars not 1 because we do like the system, and I should have read the cancelation notice/rules before signing up and not just trusting someone. Won't recommend to anyone.

    This is the worst security company I've ever had the displeasure of doing business with. I greatly regret switching to them. We've had our system now for a few years, only because I paid to have a lot of cameras and sensors installed and don't feel like I have a choice but to stick it out now. The system never works, cameras constantly drop and every time you contact customer support to ask for help they say it's your fault and you need to reboot the panel for the 100th time, or it must be your internet, can't be their system causing the issue. Shockingly, their fix never works! I got to the point of demanding that they send someone to my house to fix the issue because every time I called they gave me the same runaround and we are paying for a system that doesn't even work properly. They flat out refuse to send someone, they don't care.

    We had a car stolen out of our driveway, the camera wasn't recording for some reason so we had nothing for the police. The same car got broken into a few months later, again no video recorded. A car got hit in front of our house and the people came to our door for help and we couldn't help them because guess what, the camera didn't record again! So when we actually needed the system it failed us, I called and complained and again, they didn't do anything. Finally I got someone to tell us we supposedly we needed a new SmartDrive, they said they'd overnight one and it has never showed up. That was over a year ago. Now, we've had a package stolen and when I try to access the recording it won't let me! Stay away from this business, it's a complete joke and they don't care about their customers once you're locked in.

    I wanted to give my experience five star, because the salesman was wonderful and my technician was wonderful. On the flip side, The salesman finished all the eDocs at 2030 Thursday night. Awesome. 2330, we are all sleep and I got a call and text from an unknown Florida phone number telling me that there was a technician outside my door to do a partial installation. My response was: “The hell he is. Absolutely not.” Daylights hours are acceptable. At that point and after the fact, an appointment was made. I simultaneously got a call from my neighbor saying that there was someone lurking around my vehicles. I explained to her about the Vivint technician, and she states that it was “unacceptable and creepy, and would ask that they not return to her house.”

    From a business aspect, we both know how important advertising, customer service, and professionalism is to a company. Especially with SO MANY competitors. A million dollar ad is awesome, but you are more than likely to get the bulk of your customers from word of mouth. My neighbor was a potential customer. Not anymore. How many people do you think she will tell of what she witnessed? That is detrimental to your company, and VERY unsafe for your young employees. Appointments and ETA notifications are imperative safety mechanisms put in place all over the country, especially in the Great State of Texas. People are fearful and on level Orange alert. We are an open carry state. Defending our homes without question. Put more thought into this for customer satisfaction, company longevity and employee safety.

    I also strongly recommend that Vivint ensures that they have solicitation permits issued by the city to cover salesmen walking door to door in “sizzle a bacon” heat. A lot of communities are NO SOLICITATION communities, and salesmen can be arrested on site. I applaud these young kids wanting to make a decent living, and I’m here for it. But consumers want to also see that employee safety is a concern as well, not just the bottom dollar.

    Installation has been a barrier to moving to smart devices for me personally, so appreciated that portion. Discussion was rather late at night for me since I work early.     We had an overall poor experience. We somehow wound up with a device on our purchase agreement that we were not told about and when we tried to have it corrected it took an extra long time to correct the issue and the sales rep we worked with stopped answering calls because it was after work. The install team was constantly running into problems and was asking us to help problem solve their issues which included them asking if they could take the chain off our ceiling fan to use for some purpose. They also did not do a thorough job cleaning up afterwards.
