    Installer was supposed to be here between 1100-1200 but didn’t show up at around 1:15. I understand other jobs can take longer than expected but a simple text or call would have been appreciated.     Technician that came out for installation was great. Super quick and easy process. Unfortunately they charged me about double what I was told back in July when I called to have services set up, not to mention, they charged the card that I had on file instead of giving me another way to pay, so now my rent money is gone until they can refund it. They seem to be trying what they can to make it right. Hopefully they will because I like the system, it's exactly what I wanted.

    The tech was professional. He explained how to use the system in detail. However after he left I noticed that my window detectors were not active. These detectors were already in place from my previous alarm company. However Vivint used all of my previous detector contacts anyway so that’s not a problem. But I need to have my home fully secured. If someone was to break in if they came in thru a window my home would not be secured and I wouldn’t be notified. I’m hoping someone from Vivint would contact me to correct this as I really want to love my new system and feel totally safe.

    This company has double legal remedy and leaves the customer open to just trust them. I was told some account named “Citizen’s Plus” would be owe for equipment. No interest and only $67 a month. Then my credit score takes a hit for a third party inquiry. I follow up only to realize I owe “Citizen’s One” a loan for the whole $4000. I this company tells me they lend money at zero interest. Of course Vivint just got paid about $4000. I don’t know how they can pay the person I am speaking to with a “Citizen’s One”, loaning money at 0% interest? Now I have two websites and two bills with another at Vivint for about $2,700 for 60 mo. Service and this is billed as advertised, but the total cost seems a little high for property theft protection, but personnel safety. Yes. We shall see?

    We've had Vivint for at least 15 years (and had APEX before Vivint bought them) - had great service and have even purchased more products over the years. We have Vivint thermostats and two fixed cameras. We've had occasional issues with the app being a little temperamental and our thermostats losing connectivity but tech support has always been able to help us resolve the problems.

    Unfortunately my recent experience trying to upgrade from wired to wireless sensors was less than seamless. When I called for assistance at night, I reached a very nice gentleman in the Philippines who couldn't tell me what equipment I already had (it's been 11 years since we moved into the current house and I didn't remember exactly where all the sensors were) and would've sold me 25 sensors for over $1,000 if that sounded at all logical to me, but I figured I'd call the next day and was quoted a price for just the 5 door sensors I needed.

    They sent a technician the next week who showed up at 8:00 AM on the dot, made a long personal call first and helped himself to a seat in my kitchen while he spent the greater part of 2 hours on the phone with the company trying to get them to understand not to charge me, but to add it to my line of credit. It was if they did not have the capability to make ANY changes during a service appointment which seemed really silly since I know they have extra equipment on their trucks. He didn't even get started until after 10:00 AM.

    I made the mistake of asking if he could install a 2nd doorbell camera at my basement door since we're going to be finishing it soon and that, plus the installation of 5 door sensors and a motion detector took him SIX hours for him to tell me he couldn't get the doorbell camera installed and that "the repeater was dead so somebody else is going to have to come out to try again." He said he would call me later that evening to try to set up a new tech call to keep me from having to call customer service again. Even he knew that it would be frustrating for me to call back. Well he never called and left a piece of the doorbell camera on my house.

    Then tonight, a week after this installation, my alarm panel is telling me my garage door sensor cover is loose so I called Vivint for assistance. By the time I come back downstairs and another family member has come through the door, it's now in pieces on the floor. The first thing out of the representative's mouth when I called is that she can charge me another $50.00 for a new sensor - "How does that sound?" And when I said it sounded TERRIBLE, she put me on mute and conferred with someone next to her who agreed that they would waive the shipping fee. What is that, $5.99?

    After all of the money we're spending on this system and the length of time we've been customers, there was absolutely no courtesy extended. In my mind, the sensor couldn't have been installed properly to be broken the very next week and on a high-traffic door. We enter and exit through this door so if the sensor isn't going to be able to withstand that, it's not worth it. The combination of these connectivity issues and now diminished customer service/tech support, we'll probably just go with ADT.

    We signed up for Vivint about 6 years ago and at first it seemed like a decent system even if it was expensive. The doorbell camera had a bad habit of catching tree movements but not people walking in the yard. The garage camera was about a 3/5 as it had a narrow field of view. About 2 years ago I got the "upgraded panel" due to some technical issues with the old one. Sadly due to other issues the garage camera wasn't working (not Vivint's fault) but the doorbell camera now only records if you stand right in front of it. No way to record anyone entering the property or anything else unless you have them set up a DVI recorder for the camera (not a standard option.) Expect people to walk all over your property with no idea when.

    The new doorbell also does not ring consistently and you have to make sure you reboot the panel monthly. You no longer have web access to the cameras and are required to use an annoying app that is lacking in tools and utilities that were available with the web. Pulling video (if you get any) is a huge hassle particularly if you want to be able to view them on PC. There is no way out of the contract for persistently broken equipment so expect to keep paying for a unit that consistently doesn't work if you choose to go with vivint. The app is incredibly slow and sometimes don't get notifications that the doorbell has been rung until 10-15 minutes after the person has left. (Great for avoiding salespeople, not so great when expecting company.)

    I had a very poor experience with the customer service line representatives I spoke with in the last month. My appointments were not kept and then pushed out weeks with no compensation or compassion behind it but gladly took my payment for the service prior to booking my appointment. I finally spoke with a supervisor after being hung up on by a male customer service rep. when asking for a supervisor and I was able to speak with Suzanne a supervisor and she finally gave me some relief and connected me with Emily who was equally as amazing and helpful and was able to set me up with a next day in-person technician to ensure I would be taken care of and not another failed call by the telephone technicians.

    The tech came out today early I might add which was amazing after my experience and gave me the help I needed and even repositioned my cameras to have better views of my property. He was very nice, respectful and prompt in his work and so for Suzanne, Emily and the tech that came (I did not get his name) I will leave a 5 star review. I am hopeful that with this review you can take this back to your customer service and appointment line staff and re-educate on basic human skills to avoid this happening to another person that is just trying to protect their home and make sure they are safe.     Okay so first, sometimes they will send someone that looks good and personable to make you sign up for this system. They go and talk about how other systems and this can be 2000$ or more but only going to be a certain amount of money a month. What they don’t tell you is that you are actually paying that much money for this system but you are paying to someone else not them for this system. Also, they only give you a 3 day return policy which is crap and I’ll say why later.

    So the person comes to install my system in my house and at first it was alright but then the door sensors he had to drill on the inside of my door frame and he messed up the first time and had to drill another hole again and it is still messed up because the door sensors still come out. Now my thermostat is messing up a lot and messing with my ac unit which also happened to my friend as well. Sometimes my door lock won’t lock all the way if I use my key or phone. The only good thing about this system is controlling it from your phone but if only it wasn’t crap and it still worked. Oh wait I forgot. Also I had gotten a car guard to put in my car and even after all the troubleshooting and everything it still never gotten to work. This is why they only give you three days to try out the product so you are roped into it.

    I switched from Cove where I was paying 25/mo because they also care about the military to and only had to pay a few hundred dollars for the system which I never had a problem with. My ring doorbell was also way better than this one. The only good thing about this doorbell is monitoring your packages and that’s it. With my ring doorbell yeah it didn’t monitor the package but least it was better at tracking people and cars that went in front of my house and I can actually rewind and see it at any time while Vivint doorbell only see who walks in your porch area and you can only see when they do. You can’t rewind to a certain time in the day and you can’t see anyone in front of the house at all. All in all I wish I never switched systems and now I’m stuck. I hate it and like even today it is messing with my ac unit again and I have dogs at the house and it’s warm.
