Horrible business practices!!!!! Do not use this company at all!!! They do not honor their contracts. They had technicians come to our brand new home, ruin our garage equipment, blame us for their equipment not working. When we asked them to pick up all the equipment, they told us we would have to pay for the equipment in full. Fast forward two years later, we are just trying to close the account completely after dealing with them for two years and they still want us to pay for their horrible equipment and suddenly found a Buy-Out promise to keep us from having to pay the monitoring services. If you get a knock on your door from these people, then please make sure you tell them heck no!!! JUST HORRIBLE!!!!! I don't understand how you can damage a brand new home, leave your trash in the home, and then blame the customer. Do not give them any of your money because you will be stuck with their horrible service.
In addition, we've had the alarm triggered a few times and no one ever was alerted. The smoke detector never worked. The house was full of smoke and nothing ever went off. They are just a horrible company and I hate that we ever even listened to the sales pitch. They claimed they didn't do contracts and that they don't stick you with something you can't get out of. THAT IS ALSO A LIE that they tell their salespeople to say!!!!

Chase was my installer and he did not miss! From his great customer service to the poise and knowledge he showed about the system. Could have asked for a better experience. I am pleased with the system and everything that came with it. I truly feel safe and at a convenient price.

The automated video survey at the end of signup was redundant and incredibly annoying. It was awkward with the sales rep standing right there being asked the same questions. I almost declined service based on the end survey. The sales rep was great; the automated survey was the problem.

Technician was great, very knowledgeable answered all my 100 questions. I feel very secure with Vivint. I absolutely love my outdoor front and back camera. Then, let's not forget the extra surprise on the front door!!!! Reader you will need to ask, but it's worth purchasing.

We had the greatest tech install our equipment, Ty. He was polite, efficient, and very respectful of our property. There was an issue with billing in setting up our account accurately, Ty continued to set up our equipment while remaining in contact with the billing/accounting department to make sure we were being billed correctly. We appreciate his determination and time spent to make sure the issue was resolved before he left. All the equipment was installed with such care it looks seamless and he even cleaned up after himself. It was refreshing to have a tech take pride in his work and provide excellent customer service. Cost too much. No options. Too long contracts. I have thirty days for the money. If one thing is off I will send it back. 2000 cost for your free installation. I think you are over selling your products for way too much money. It’s going to have to live up to your cost.

The guys were very nice and very polite. They let me know who they were and asked about my old system then went over everything about the new system. They saved me money and added a doorbell and camera. They went over everything, explained everything so I understood the system. They made sure I was comfortable with the system before they left. I would recommend this security system to anyone needing a system. I am very pleased with it and it really makes me feel safe in my home.

I would like to give 5 stars because everyone we spoke with was friendly, the installation went smoothly and everything is working great. However, the technician who came out to install spent over an hour collectively throughout the service appointment aggressively trying to upsell us everything under the sun, when all we wanted was the basic security system and 3 cameras. I get it, I've been in sales before and recognized all of his "overcoming customer objections" techniques, trying not to take no for an answer, but all it did was annoy my mom and myself to no end. Just install what we ordered, that's all we want!!

Due to time limitations, system orientation seemed a bit rushed for us “old” people. Otherwise installation was a 5-star. Appreciated the fact that the installer wore a mask and “booties” during the installation and cleaned every area in which he worked.

Guy was great guy doing his job. I felt pressured gentle way I wanted to take time to talk to my wife and I wanted him to get back to me. I wanted to get his business card. My wife was there so he mention she was there that we could go over the plan as he was telling us how it worked. He was sharing with us how it would work for us as we already agreed to this alarm. Eric was our installer. He was awesome and detailed about how it all works. As a security company I would make the passcode more private rather than telling him and him entering it. Also, app did not work at first.

The install technician was very nice so five stars to him. However, after five hours of being involved with this installation, I still do not have access from my phone due to a “glitch in the system” as described by customer support as it was recommended I call them whenever the system failed to work immediately following installation. Overall not impressed by this new system and it’s only Day One.

I have been a loyal customer over 5 years and for the last 6 months none of my devices have worked properly. I have tried three different time to wait for a 4 hour window for a technician to show and they never do or communicate that they will not be there. Every time I call in the previous representative does not update account correctly. Not the type to leave a review but people need to know how they operate.

The installment was fast and the system very easy to use even for the Sr. Citizens like me. Thanks. The tech went over again until I was comfortable using the system. I have no more blind spot surrounding my property.

Everything run smoothly and on time, the only issue I noticed, after I few hours, it was that he installed the doorbell but missed the sidemount. Because of that I don't have a wider view, and also, the camera at my garage have a blindspot.

The installer took the time to make sure everything was installed properly, even in cases when there weren't electrical sockets on outside walls for external cameras. He also answered all my questions regarding the alarm system. However, the sales person had not mentioned to me that the DVR to record camera footage 24/7 was out of stock and would be sent to me later. For me, this was the most important feature and was the main reason I selected Vivint over ADT. I was worried that a camera that captures 30 seconds or so based on motion or a person detected might miss certain events and I wanted the ability to go back and look any time on any camera. As of today, Nov 8, I still have not received the DVR.

Super impressed with Erik **, the guy that did our install. Knew everything front to back, super honest, really helpful and flexible. Best customer service I have received in a long time. I would have gave 5 stars. The indoor camera will be sent in about 2 weeks that only problem also this was not explain during the intake over the phone. A heads-up would have been better, not a surprise.

I had installation yesterday. The tech was good and we walked the job before he started. He ended around 6:15 and wanted to walk through the system. It was dark outside. So we didn’t look over the new items, just started going into how to use the system. I asked if we could schedule for the next day since it was late and I could tell this would take some time. The tech wanted to close out the order and we were discussing that too.
A few items had to be installed by another tech, so I recommended waiting on using the system until the final installation was done. It doesn’t seem like that’s possible because he’s contracted, so he needed to close out the order even though it wasn’t fully installed. This felt pressured and rushed (the tech was nice, but needed to close this job). So, as a customer, I’m left to figure things out in my own and walk the property at another time. To me, I can see the disconnect of hiring contractors who get paid once the work order is done, but that doesn’t set up a good experience for me as the customer. He needs to get paid. I want to know the job is done and don't what to sign a work order saying it’s done before it is. And I want to feel like my understanding of the system is important. My out is to cancel the service based on the warranty…but I don’t want to do that. I would say the service philosophy and the product image don’t go together.

I am very unhappy about the damage that my home incurred during installation. I had the tech step on my ceiling why in the attic that caused a crack and break of my drywall ceiling. I have holes in my wall due to poor decision making when installing equipment. Who places a panel to one side of a small wall and doesn’t center with other fixtures. He offered to move, but then I would have had more holes in my walls! Being apologetic is all good, but making sure these repairs are completed in a timely manner is most important.

I got the call that he was at my door while heading into a staff meeting. While I was frazzled and trying to pull it together on Zoom on my phone, he remained so calm and patient. The tech was great. His name was Eric. He was very patient. Customer service was bad. Lack of communication. They sent him over and the camera he had didn’t work on my old system. He spent an hour and a half getting thing switched over as in the old camera that they didn’t want me to use and getting the discount of 150 transferred over that I was promised!!!! My original conversation with Rusty I was given false information and messed things up bad. As I said my tech Eric was great.

We attempted to ask all necessary questions before agreeing upon service and installation. Unfortunately something specific we requested was not handled properly before the service/sales person arrived and it gave us pause in regards to going forward. Great service to set up. Super easy, called Saturday installed by Wednesday. They were very meticulous during install and did a great job cleaning up. Absolutely horrible. The price was not accurately explained. I was told there would only be a soft credit check then there was a hard check. The equipment was not all available. The installer was an incredibly nice and patient person, very professional. The rest of your organization was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Zoee helped to the best of her ability without transferring me around from rep to rep and she was nice. I am not pleased at all and would like someone from leadership to contact me immediately.

Had an alarm system and 4 cameras installed. Installer showed up on time, actually early and very informative from start to finish. Great product and solves my security needs in one trip. From the initial call to discuss what I needed to the install it all went as they advised me. They also provided 0% financing so I am only paying a little bit a month instead of a few thousand up front.

I read reviews on Vivint as I was looking to escape a horrible home security company. Vivint was quick to respond, offered a variety of options, had modern technology, weren’t going to sell my account to a company with zero customer service and had solid customer reviews. Our account rep was great. He let me relay my wants/needs and didn’t read me a canned script focused on upsells. Our installer was also great. Knowledgeable, professional while personable and funny in addition to being considerate of my home and time. Our interactions and experience have been awesome thus far. Vivint has kept to their word and have been very thorough. We are excited about the new system and look forward to checking out the other items they have.

To detail my entire experience with this company would require too much text and the reader will probably tune out, so I will summarize to keep it concise. I signed up for security services in November, 2020. The initial installer (Albert – I later learned he is a seasonal worker from out of the area) did a really poor job with the installation and had to come back (left my basement panel wiring in shambles, did not label the inputs at all, the doorbell was not installed correctly - there wasn’t enough power to the bell, he also miswired the thermostat - I called an AC technician out who troubleshot the system and told me that it was the alarm tech wiring error. When the installer returned, he tried to make me pay him money for gas, he also attempted to fill out the customer survey that rates the installation satisfaction - I had to demand that he delete it so I could complete it.
I spent an extensive amount of time on the phone during numerous calls back and forth with Vivint. I repeatedly encountered instances where one representative didn't know what a previous representative had state or committed to. I explained to them the budget that I had to work with and they assured me that I could get certain equipment within my price point. I decided to cancel the service and contract and was told that I was being given an exception to their three-day cancellation terms due to my experience. Several days later, a different representative stated that I could not cancel the contract and attempted to charge me over $600 more than the quoted price for the equipment, she and disregarded my repeated statements that I was quoted a specific amount - but none of that mattered, because I had canceled the contract.
I ended up making a complaint on a user radio and was contacted via e-mail that contained the following statement "I just wanted to reach out to you to let you know we received your feedback through our CEO Promise page on our website. We are currently doing some research on your account to make sure we understand the issue so we can get this fully resolved. I or someone on my team will give you a call as soon as possible. We look forward to speaking with you." I never received a follow-up to that e-mail. When I followed up with them (in writing), the times I did receive a response, the only reply was an instruction to call them.
In January, I was prepared for Vivint to come and remove the equipment. I intended to purchase a system that was on sale from Costco. For more than 11 months and no one ever showed to remote the equipment in their service remain activated until last Friday. I have read another review where the person stated that their service was left on and after an extended period of time Vivint circled back to them and said that because they have been using the service and they are responsible for payment. I'm waiting to see if they try this with me.
I do like the service, but my experience has been REALLY bad - and 2 of the 3 cameras have been frequently intermittently malfunctioning. They may be trying to wait me out to see if I would call them love my view about them is that communications need to be in writing. Other folks seem to have had good or mixed experiences with them - but mine has been BAD. Hopefully your luck will be better if you decide to take the chance.

I thought I would give this company a try through a sales rep. Paid $31 to start the process. This was in August. Tech came out, installed the sensors and panel. Tech stated he ran out of equipment for doorbell camera and two additional cameras and everything else was not installed as well. He left stating he would be right back once he pick some up. 6: pm came around. I called. Tech rescheduled us for labor day without telling us. They've rescheduled and from that day on numerous times. Tech sick or they didn't have enough staff for 2 months. I've been trying to cancel from day one. They told me my trial period was 3 days. First I've heard of this and HOW CAN YOU HAVE A TRIAL WITH NO EQUIPMENT. Today they charged my card without permission. I still don't have the system. Fraud at its best. Do not buy from them. It's a scam!!!! ****I need a lawyer asap.***

Updated review on 11/12/2021: I recently post a review on Vivint services about vivint putting the wrong person name on the account, who does not match the contract signer, and still the problem has not been resolved. Everytime I called I get a different person and apparently they kept opening new cases rather than following up on the case which is very frustrating. Vivint you know who I am. I'm tired of dealing with the different callers if they can't fully help me, the call kept dropping which I have to start over again with another new caller. My patient is very thin and I hope you will resolve this issue. I don't have time every week wasting more than hours trying to fix an issue you guys created. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. Please fix your service team because they are giving me the run about and I don't have time for this. I'm furious.
I have asked the supervisor multiple times and no one gave me the supervisor. I tried reaching out to the previous caller who helped but no one ever told me I needed to have the ID number so they can transfer to them until Dane informed me. The caller does not want to help you or follow up with you that is why they didn't give me their badge ID. It would have more simpler if only one person handle my case. Here I'm still struggle with this issue. Vivint has my email and number you can look up this case.
Original review: Vivint systems are great so far but Vivint service really screwed up my account and now I have to work extra miles to fix the problem they created. All contracts were signed under my name and I specifically told them my brother was going to be present during the installation since I have to work. I even signed the consent form. Everything went great and correctly. Then that night I checked the account and noticed the account holder is under my brother's name rather than my name. I tried to call and ask them to fix it since it was a mistake on their end. Then they have the ball to tell me that I have to get permission from my brother to switch the account name holder? Like really? He is not even the person who signed the contract?
This mistake is like letting us know anyone can be the account holder regardless who signed the contract. I have spent hours on the phone trying to fix a mistake they create and still the account holder has not been taken care of. If I really had that much time to spend with them I wouldn't need a security system. Not just that but the My Account for Vivint is horrible. I can't ever login without changing my password every time. Someone please assist me with what I need to do next. Rather if I get Vivint service through another contract, I shouldn't be treated differently. Overall their products are wonderful and the technician is awesome. Shout out to Paul. Again what really bring down the rating down is the service when Vivint made it difficult to fox a mistake they made. I hope this review get to Vivint. I was very disappointment in the service and still currently trying to get the problem situated.

Was an ADT customer and switch to Vivint due to better equipment and technology for less the cost. The security cameras have great quality and are able to zoom in 3x to view finite details. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is an ADT customer.

Less than 24 hours after purchase doorbell camera went offline. Contacted support through “chat” and was unable to resolve issue. Told that a technician could not be sent until the following Wednesday. After complaining I was told they would request Saturday (today) but I have not received any confirmation. The support is lousy.

Technician did a wonderful job, answered questions, explained everything, and worked through the sensors and with get it working perfectly. He explained the phone app and installed new software to get everything working. He was very respectful and checked all equipment. The system does not work already. I only gave one star because it wouldn’t send till I hit at least one star the technician left without fully checking to see if the system was working and it’s saying offline. This is not acceptable at all. When you pay for something only for it not to work at all I am not pleased.

Process was easy. Interface is excellent. App is intuitive. We were able to get an install within a week of calling. Our Technician, Joey was amazing. We just built a new house and our electrician installed equipment we found on eBay thinking we would save money and thinking our electrician would be the best to install. We were wrong and when Joey came out he kindly pointed out the issues and he fixed everything to make it perfect. We felt bad because I know it took time from him but he never showed in any way that he was inconvenienced and in fact seemed happy to get us set up in our new home with a nicely integrated system with our smart door locks, thermostats, and garage doors. We’re so happy and can’t wait to share our experience with our soon-to-be neighbors in our new development.

Updated on 11/11/2021: After 10 hours on the phone/chat with Vivint, they finally removed the system as they could not get it to work. Here's my issue - the customer service. You literally spend hours to accomplish the smallest feat like booking a tech appointment. HOURS! They have a trick where they say, "I have to get approval from a supervisor." This is usually where you get disconnected. They previously sold a lot of systems in my neighborhood. My experience was so terrible, I will make sure to post it on the neighborhood social media pages.
Updated on 10/30/2021: Once again I called and was told that my case was escalated to a 'local manager.' The LM would call me back to schedule my appointment for today (Friday the 29th). No one called so I had to call back today. I asked if the 'local manager' was even a position in my area. Apparently, it is not. I now have an appointment for mid-week. I made sure I got it in writing before the call ended.
In summary, it took 6+ hours and multiple calls to book a simple service tech. Once you buy this system, you may as well be on an island as they can't seem to service them. The customer service team is skilled in the art of misinformation and disconnecting calls. If my tech does not arrive - the system is going back. You have been warned - you will be alone with an expensive system if help is needed. By the way, I have not spoken to a supervisor. They don't take calls - they only call you back. However, as you can imagine - that does not happen.
Original Review: The salesman for Vivint was very very good. He sold me a 4K system (4K, I can't believe I spent that much). I then had a doorbell camera that stopped working. I then spent 2 hours on chat and 2 hours on the phone. The chat system is not efficient. As you move through the repair steps on your system - the app stalls and you have to restart the chat, from the beginning. I then called and spent hours on the phone. I was told that a supervisor would call me back - this never happened. I called today to confirm my appointment and guess what - it is magically missing. If they do not have a tech at my home at the scheduled time - I will be returning the system.

Vivint is one of the worst companies in the security business, I pay for the complete system to be installed on a new house that was pre-wired, they charged 680 to install a panel on a preinstalled new house, and never connected my window sensors. After 2 attempts to get a technician to come to fix the issue, they tried to charge me 50 to send a technician to come to program the panel correctly. When I requested to cancel and get my money back they said it was too late. I only had service for 2 weeks. This company is a rip off. Please run while you can. Also had their service at a business address, after installation I had credit since I paid 1200 for equipment that I didn't need, so I had credit on the account and they charged my remaining credit and credit card at the same time.

Vivint I don't know how on earth you managed to get all these high reviews but I'm certain they are manufactured. The cameras record 10-20 sec clips of nothing, cut off in the middle of movement so that you do not actually get to see what is going on. If a burglar knew anything about these things all they would have to do is activate the camera with movement, wait 20 seconds and then steal something and the camera would never see it. The connection is intermittent and we have the best ISP money can buy.
Oh and believe it or not sometimes movement doesn't even trigger the recording at all!!! The cameras go offline occasionally for no apparent reason and must be rebooted, the ability to speak through and listen from the cameras are also shoddy. You cannot zoom in on a recorded clip, only in live mode is this option available. The company will charge you if the tech has to come out for any reason even though you pay over a hundred bucks a month, and you are tricked into a 3 year contract!!! Be aware! Stick with Nest cameras and pay their 5 dollar a month monthly fee SO much better, and such a better deal! We have learned a valuable but costly lesson, don't make the same mistakes we made.

Excellent service. Very professional and very clean and tidy. No mess to clean. Beautiful sleek flat black security panel like an iPad and a beautiful new lock that offered a golden tone choice to match my door handle. Both were made by Kwikset. Would highly recommend. Everything was great.

The gentleman who installed my system was very professional. I asked for him to move From downstairs to upstairs. He said no problem. He had tips and was able to suggest items and work with me and home. The professionalism was among the best that I have seen in the last few years. James was awesome for installation. He was very helpful, professional, and informative. I have zero complaints about the installation process. I am still waiting on my doorbell camera and DVR, but he is coming back in a couple days. I am confident everything will go as planned.

The sales team and technician were precessional, honest, and informative. The install ran a bit late but that’s what worked for our schedule. If you're a new home owner, they will more than likely find you so do your research and come ready with questions. I believe the price is worth the product in the end as long as you're willing to make a 5 year commitment for the gear.

From start to finish everything went accordingly. No hidden fees and tech even helped me out with sensors when he was installing the system. Coming from ADT’s poor service, it was important to me to get all info upfront and I got just that with Vivint. I’m definitely happy.

Tech was respectful, helpful and quick! Rep was awesome! He sold us on the equipment. So far we are loving our new security system! Cameras are working awesome. Lock is great. Panel is the best I’ve seen, and thermometer is so energy efficient!! In love!!

Eric was informative and explained system to us. Plus explained pricing and service agreement that the guy on the phone did not. Still having a problem signing into the app, waiting to see if it resets overnight. Otherwise we will call customer service.

Layne did a great job listening to our questions and Alleviating any worries we may have had. He took the time to explain everything concerning camera placement and how it would look cosmetically. Very pleasant willing to teach. Little disappointed that you have to pay extra for video and smoke detectors. Feels like nickel and diming to death. The equipment is very good. But feel that it should cover all of the house in a package deal.
