    My experience has been overall 4.5 stars because the technician was so helpful on installation day. The sales rep when I first called was very thorough in explaining items and helping me get the customized package I wanted. He sent the information in a timely manner and was very responsive to any questions I had. The only problems I had with those conversations were some things said over the phone about being able to cancel within the first 30 days and the equipment would be taken and no other fees charged, which I learned is not the case; and no initial setup fee for a new homeowner which never made it to the invoice. The next contact I had was the actual appointment which took forever to set and then I was kept waiting and waiting for a technician to show up that never did and never got a call back that he was not going to show up. I was then texted to reschedule which seems very unprofessional and illegitimate.

    Finally I set up another appointment and then it was cancelled but by no means at Vivint's fault. The next appointment was made and the technician was beyond helpful, he wore his masks at all times. Was very through in his setup, explained all details, talked me through explanations and any questions I had. If there were any doubts he settled them and offered solutions. The overall experience was good other than the issue with the first appointment being cancelled the day of and no other solution to get it done that day by another technician.

    The only reason I bring that up is because in the middle of this past week a younger gentleman by foot came to the door as a Vivint rep and told me he could have set me up that day. But due to certain reasons he could not take me on as a customer until the appointment was cancelled + 2 weeks time. Which makes me ask why it wasn’t able to be setup that first day of the cancelled appointment. To summarize my issues, the communication via text and coming from different numbers and sources seemed very unprofessional, the cancelled appointment the day of with no effort to complete it, and finally the promises made with the initial sales rep that never made it to the initial invoice.

    My company bought the alarm system for our store. We also bought 6 indoor cameras, but the installer told us the cameras came in separately and that we would have to install them separately, on our own. The installer installed the main dash board for the alarm, the two door sensors, and a front broken glass sensor for the front of store window. This was done 10/2021. We were informed that the 6 indoor cameras would arrive within 7-10 days. It is now 02/08/2022 and the cameras have not arrived yet. We have called innumerable times, and customer services first says they were delivered by the installer, then they adjust and say they were returned to their warehouse and will be shipped again. We are paying installments for a bill of more than $3,000 and are not getting a response. Do not choose this company.

    The installation took almost six hours and they could not get the doorbell camera to work. Initially they said that it was not their problem and they would come back after we fixed the doorbell. After we called the solar rep and told them this was unacceptable because the doorbell worked before they started installing the system, they spoke to their supervisor and told us they would fix it. We have yet to hear from a Vivint supervisor. The technicians were very nice and respectful but they did not have experience or the equipment trouble shooting knowledge to remedy the situation immediately. Based off of my experience I would not recommend this service.

While we are only allowed four days to “complete our decision” of keeping the system, YOU need about six days (maybe) to get the materials to complete the installation.     Poor service. Our first appointment we were scheduled for a noon to 4 block. At 2:30 I got a call saying the installer ran out of inventory in his van so we would have to reschedule. Which is unprofessional. They know how many people are scheduled for the day and should be properly stocked. What a wasted day! The day they actually showed up to install. Once he put in the new thermostat, the fan on our ac would not turn off and we called him immediately. No help. I called him again on Monday (as we were without heat over the weekend) and he again just said he didn’t know. I called the customer service number to troubleshoot and they said they’d send a new thermostat and for us to install it when it comes in. Said it’s arrive in 3-5 days. It’s been 7 days and still no thermostat, nor has it shipped.

    We have been without heat for well over a week. With no remedy from them. Our hvac was working perfectly fine until he put in that smart thermostat. No company should tell us “I don’t know” and have no solution. If our hvac was working fine, then it’s obviously something they did. I give this company zero stars. I gave 1 star only because I couldn’t submit without it.

    My husband and I purchased a home with Vivint already in the home. I called to switch everything to our names and we were promised a refund of the activation fee if we canceled within the 2 week trial period. We canceled within a week because we were not happy with the customer service and products. I was told nowhere in the notes we would be refunded the fee. I made another phone call and that person reached out to Brandon, my sales rep, and he confirmed my refund. That person also confirmed my cancelation and would be refunded within 30 days.

    Two weeks went by and I am charged the monthly fee for the service. I called and was told it was being canceled (should have been already according to the previous person I spoke with) and would take 7-10 business days. I asked for proof of this and they told me they are “not authorized” to send me any confirmation of anything. This to me was very sketchy. I waited a few days and decided to call Brandon for some proof of cancellation. After all, when I signed up he gave me his personal Google voice number and said to call with any issues. So I did and left a message.

    The next day I call again and it said “my number can not be completed as dialed” I called from my husbands number and he blocked my phone number!!! That was the last straw and I called customer service again. Have you ever been on vacation and they rope you into a timeshare presentation and won’t let you leave? That’s what it felt like but over the phone! I told her I already canceled and after being very very firm and she finally transferred me and that guy was able to final talk to his supervisor and my services were canceled and I was told a refund was in process. I used the chat option for proof and was able to get the confirmation I needed. What kind of customer service blocks someone? Mind blown. Avoid like the plague!

    My install was a nightmare that I am still in now....I will cancel my account. If they don't fix the damage to my property and install the alarm correctly. This has been the worst experience I have ever had. Your installers need to be trained better. I would not recommend you guys to anyone.     So had a day and time scheduled for my install and no one showed up. No call no show. This is inexcusable. I reached out to my sales rep Jared. He was awesome.     I reached out to Vivint because one of my sensors was not working any longer. My alarm will be armed as "away" and I could walk in and out my back door. This is a huge security issue obviously. After having to go back and forth multiple times with reps from Vivint Support, someone was kind enough to send us a new sensor for the door. As my husband and I reviewed the directions and attempted to remove the old sensor, we discovered that we cannot. The sensor that Vivint installed is backward. There is a long portion that should be installed in the wall and a short sensor that is to be installed in the door. The Vivint rep installed these sensors incorrectly. Due to the incorrect installation, the sensor cannot be removed from the door.

    After careful review, we can also see cracks in our door from the installation. We have complained before that the installation was problematic and was causing water to get into the home. The tech that installed it, sanded the wood down on the door to ensure the sensor fit. When he did this (without our approval or knowledge), there is about a 1/2 gap that allows water to seep into our home when it rains. I reached out to Vivint to complain about this a number of times. We had 2-3 techs come out and look at the sensor before. They all stated it was fine. However, we now have a door that has damage and a sensor stuck inside. I won't even begin to discuss the water damage due to the door being cracked and shaved down.

    I am absolutely frustrated that I asked for help, filed a complaint, and all of this went ignored previously. We now need the sensor to be removed so that we can actually use the service and cannot do so due to the Vivint tech's incorrect installation. If they had helped us when we asked before, this problem probably would have been caught before.

    I started my service with Vivint on Jan 6th 2022. I was told by their sales department that in order to install outdoor cameras (qty 3) I needed to update my hub to the newest one. I asked if there will be any impact to the doorbell I had or thermostats, the sales person mentioned it shall be no issue. The next day, their technician was home setting up the cameras and new hub. After installation, I contacted their tech service because the 3 thermostats we have home wouldn't connect to our hub. They informed me that it would not work, because NEST discontinued their agreement with Vivint and the other Vivint thermostat I have is too old to work with Vivint. I called Vivint to inform them of my issue and they offer to install the 3 thermostats free of charges and fee.

    I recently checked my credit card and realize that they charged me for the thermostats. Plus in the interim, I have had to troubleshoots my cameras (3) on weekly basis. So much for a non DYI system. My monthly fee is $61/month (after tax) and I am still having to fix the system. In addition, I was charged for equipment, that If I knew updating to the new hub, would cause me additional fee, I wouldn't have done it. The installation part of the services was great, the post installation service very bad and customer services is very defeating.

    I’ve had the Vivint smart thermostat for a couple months now and was working ok. Couple hiccups here and there. Last night the thermostat dropped the connection to the app and the panel and stopped heating the house. Called customer service. They had me do a bunch of technical stuff with the wiring which already I thought was kind of off since it was continually shutting off breakers and connecting wires together. And it started working for a few minutes. Just to fail again and can’t adjust anything. Try contacting them again to find out the unit is bad and have to get a new one but they have to mail it because technicians don’t keep them with them. I have a baby in the house and now they say wait 5-7 days and we will try hooking it up again??? Don't think it’s worth having!

    The first technician that was supposed to do the installation, called me at the last minute, and rescheduled. Some conflict with his hotel room. Then he called at the last minute again, on the rescheduled day, to reschedule again. Talking about he was at his apartment in Memphis. At that point, I was too upset, so I hung up on him, and called and talked to someone in their customer service department. She scheduled me for another day and time with a different technician. He showed up on time, but the installation part was entirely too long. He had to leave to go get some of the sensors that I was supposed to have. Then, he had to leave again, because he didn’t have the doorbell ring that I was supposed to have. He didn’t get done until a little after 8pm. And the window time frame was between 12-4pm. He got the job done finally.

    We’ve bought this system and had it installed for less than 2 months. The cameras are continually going out and we have to always have a tech come to reinstall the software or make adjustments to get working service. For a $4000 security system this is not ok. It’s just as bad as Cox Communications. You’re paying for a service that does not work. Why am I being charged? This is the worst investment and do not recommend it.

I almost turned him away because the salesperson Dani who sold me the system somewhat misrepresented the coverage I would be getting for home protection.
