    Installation had a few surprises regarding placement and exposed cords in the house. Equipment seems nice and is functioning properly. At the end of the appointment I asked about our smoke and CO detectors and the person said they weren’t included. When I attempted to select the option in the post survey that said we hadn’t gotten all of our equipment, he forced me to change my response to say we had gotten all the equipment. I had a phone call I had to take and stepped away. He had already left by the time the meeting ended. I verified from my email that we were supposed to have the CO and smoke detectors. When I tried to call Vivint for help, they said the offices were closed and no one could help me. They gave me a non working number to call. Just another example of no one being willing to help solve a problem when it happens. I have not yet been able to reach anyone for assistance.

    We love the Vivint product, the variety of equipment, and the ease of putting together a package to meet our needs. The phone sales rep was a pleasure to work with, and the mobile app is very intuitive and responsive.

    However, there were some disappointments with the installation:
    - We informed the rep that we would like the panel installed on a particular wall, however the rep accidentally started installing on the wrong wall. They patched the holes, however we will now need to purchase touchup paint and finish the repair.
    - The rep did not confirm which doors we wanted to have a sensor on, and installed one on a wrong door, which essentially pushed us to have to add an extra sensor to our purchase (or remove the sensor and leave a large hole in the door/frame).
    - The rep attempted to clean up the mess caused by drilling into doors/walls, however we still needed to clean drywall and wood dust from our floors afterward (I cleaned most of the messes before taking pictures, however I included a picture of the sawdust left in the garage).

    - The rep didn’t not arrive with all of the requested sensors, and had to return on a second date to install the glass break sensor.

    Called a few times, first 2 sales reps were quick to close the sale but didn’t give option or info. Told them if deal I saw online and was told they don’t know about that and told me $49.99 was the only option if I have cameras. Wasn’t happy but called back and was told the same thing only because the rep was much nicer I signed up for service. I then received a text from a manager Brett ** that offered me a better deal to sign up for $39.99 but he didn’t realize that I already signed up with a different rep. I plan on calling and inquiring about the plan.

    All in all my experience with Vivint was good. The sales team were very nice & did their best to explain how the product worked to a technically challenged person. The installer was very polite & patient. He made sure I understood how to use the equipment. My only issue was that the whole process went too late in the evening. I didn’t know what to expect but I assumed since he didn’t start until 6:30PM that he would have it completed at a reasonable hour. He didn’t leave until 9:30PM. Had I known it was going to be about 3 hours to do, I would have insisted it be done earlier in the day, another day. The installer worked very efficiently, it just takes some time to get it all done.

    Ordering my package through Vivint was, by far, one of the worst customer experiences I’ve had with a large purchase. Their salespeople are deceptive and promise things the installers can’t do. There’s a lot I can say about my experience ranging from the damage they did to my credit score via multiple hard inquiries to the two hours I spent talking to customer support because my sales rep improperly configured my package to collect more than I was quoted. The takeaway is to explore your other options for security systems and understand that if you get Vivint, you’re signing yourself up to be at the mercy of a support team that is, at many times, dishonest and poorly trained.

    This install was honesty so friendly. While it did take a while, I appreciated the level of detail it came with. Watching my locks be replaced and all the sensors be synced and tested made all the equipment seem far more reliable.     Vivint is committing fraud! Two months ago I called in and canceled my account and paid them off in full! Today they took $8.74 out of my checking account. When I called them they said I hadn’t canceled because I didn’t email them when no one even asked me to do that! This is very poor customer service and that’s half of why I quit them, the other half is their equivalent never worked well, and they charge $55 a month for their service! I’ve already tore their things out and installed Google Nest cameras and I only pay $6 a month! I’m a hundred time happier with Google. I do not recommend Vivint!

    I can honestly say that dealing with Vivint has been the worst customer service experience I've ever had in any industry. It would almost be funny how atrocious it was if it weren't for the fact it's cost me so much time and money. I've never left a one star review before and I don't even know where to begin. First, I was happy with ADT in my old residence. I could've saved a bunch of money in cancellation fees if I would have just transferred service to my new home, but through reviews I felt Vivint might be better and I liked their smart home technology.

    The sales person told me they could reuse whatever existing equipment my home had. The tech came and left all the original equipment (hard wired sensors on all doors built into the house, glass breaks, motion detectors) and installed a new system over top of everything. So I had double everything and two panels. They drilled a hole through my house, gave up, and decided to put a camera elsewhere. They didn't tell me about this, I just found a new hole in my wall. They installed a one zone thermostat over my multi zone thermostat, leaving my bedroom and basement absolutely freezing for three days. I couldn't even sleep there as it was in the low twenties the following night. That left me with a $2000+ emergency HVAC bill.

    I spent the next couple of days bouncing around on hold between different departments trying to get this fixed. Everyone had different information. Some said they can't reuse the equipment. Some said they could. Some said maybe. I think it was about 6 hours total on the phone over the two days. All I was asking for is for them to come fix the problems with a different tech who had more experience. They couldn't get someone before my trial period was over, so I asked if they could just extend the trial period until after the issues were resolved. No. Funnily enough, after every frustrating phone call they ended it by telling me about their referral program, as if I would be in the mood to refer family and friends to go through the same ordeal.

    Since I couldn't be sure if I would ever get my problems fixed and I only had one day left to cancel, I called to cancel. Of course, then they finally got me to someone who could make some decisions and they agreed to extend my trial period and scheduled a new tech to come out that Saturday and fix the issues between 12-4. I was also told their claims department would be great and that I'd get reimbursed for my HVAC bill and get a handyman to come fix the holes.

    I received my confirmation call for my appointment Friday. I confirmed. I got a confirmation text in the morning to expect my tech between 12-4. I stayed home from work waiting for my tech. 4:00 came and went. I called and was told that my ticket was marked completed and they would not be coming as they couldn't find a different tech other than the original one who caused all the issues in the first place. However, they never communicated this to me until I called them after waiting around all day.

    My trial still ends this week even though the appointment was no showed. I'm going to be calling Monday to cancel and have them remove all of this equipment. Hopefully I hear back about my HVAC bill and they can patch all these holes in my house. Even if they were to extend my trial period for a new appointment, I have zero faith in this company fixing anything. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone; maybe only if I had a mortal enemy or a serious score to settle.

    Everything about my installer was great. We asked him to remove his shoes and he obliged. He installed everything quickly and explained everything. My only issue was with the cameras. In order to have a camera in the backyard we would need to run wires up our wall inside our living room and poke a hole to feed it outside since it needs to be plugged into an outlet. We will not spend good money only to be left with exposed wires (inside or otherwise). Other than that, I am pleased with our install.

    From beginning to end, we were satisfied with our experience with the Vivint techs and sales reps. We initially thought we weren’t going to go with anything, but the sales reps were kind & we wanted to at least hear them out. After going over our needs for home security & what their programs could do for us, we realized it was far more affordable than we had expected. The process did take some time, it was like buying a car, but not nearly as painful or expensive.

    The sales experience took about an hour, because we were shopping for what we liked out of what was offered. Then the tech did take a couple hours, but that is fully understandable, he had a lot of equipment to set up, and was very informative in the set up & usage process. It sounds worse than it was, but really all it took was a little time & then we were fully secured and ready. Our home now is a smarter home, we feel safer, we are excited about our new features like controlling our thermostat when we’re not even home, unlocking our door from our phone, and being able to monitor anything coming in or out and being able to see everything outside of our home. We’re very pleased and even more pleased at the great rate.

    Everything I was told about was a lie.... Was told they were compatible with my system I have now. Lie.. Told me they could install my door bell... Lie. Out of the whole system the only thing that was installed was the motion sensor which is pointless when you have a Cane Corso that's is 110 lbs that free runs the house when we're gone and the two door sensors. The whole system is absolutely garbage. Please come uninstall your ** and do us all a favor and drive this business in to the deepest hole in the ground and forgot about it....

    Confusing process. I received an email reminder that my set up was for 4/4, yet 2 different guys texted me 3/29 about different time setups same day.     Our installation technician was fantastic! He came in, explained the entire process to me, gave me all the information about how the payment process worked, the financing information, and information on any additional services or equipment we may be interested in and the cost for each item. He didn’t try to twist my arm or upsell me on anything, and listened to my concerns about making my my home as safe as possible. We ended up adding a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, an outdoor camera, and an additional glass break. He switched our plan around for us and ended up saving us money, which we really appreciated! He was patient and kind with my dogs as well as my 4 year old, who wanted to “help” him.

    My dog kept grabbing pieces he was trying to install and running off with them, but he was extremely nice, even though I’m sure it was frustrating. He fully explained how the system works, how we use it, who to call if we have any issues, and how long our service and device payments would be. K.D. Is an absolute gem, and should be valued as an essential Vivint employee. Keep up the great work, K.D.!! We love our new system and I feel so much more at ease when my husband has to travel for work. Vivint has given us all peace of mind.

    Install went well. Vivint app would not connect with My Q app. The app would not arm the house on the first day away.     I've never heard of this company, and the sales rep that came to my house did SUCH a good job telling me all about what the company offers, I was in shock and wanted it for my home.
