Dawson the salesman and Eli the technician who installed the system were both very professional and friendly. They both had a great knowledge base of the product and explained it well. We hope to be happy with our new system. We like how easy it is to use on our phones as well.

He was very professional from the phone call letting me know he was on his way, to the very end! Very thorough in letting me know what he was installing, going over what my monthly bill would be, recommendations and how the system worked.

Technician was friendly and knowledgeable. His work was very clean. The only reason it’s not five stars and it’s four is not because of the professionalism of the technician but just missing the doorbell camera. Me and my wife were super excited to have it but there seems to be a shortage issue. Other than that great technician and great product thus far.

Great service, sales person explained really good, went to the process and real easy to understand, the technician explain the work and told me every single step to set up the alarm and how to work the camera, plus they bought the contract from my previous alarm.

Justin, our Vivint tech, was very knowledgeable, respectful and a master of his craft! All around great guy. His suggestions were great and so were his instructions on how to use the system. Sharita came with best possible deal for me and worked with me. She is really good in what she does and then an hour later install team came and Manny is awesome in everything. Instead of using the position of the existing camera in the back yard, the technicians chose to drill a new without consulting with me first. I was told after the fact. Leaving the holes from existing camera open to weather damage. And damaging the inside dry wall, drilling a hole bigger than was was needed and Leaving excess wire untacked.

The chat agent Ana G was helpful and courteous but it would have been helpful to be able to speak with a live agent, now I have to wait till Monday to find out answers to my questions. Most companies have customers agents that work on weekends.

It has only been one day, but so far the system is very good. We went from the Ring security system to Vivint and it seems to be more technologically advanced and very user friendly. All devices are sleek and professional looking.

Reps were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. The setup process from signing the forms to the technician coming to install the equipment was very smooth. They walked me through the whole process to make sure I understood everything that was going on.

Our installer Jasmine ** was the best. Very knowledgeable and worked quickly and explained everything in detail to us. We are impressed with how to link all the different items up with the Vivint app. It is nice to be able to do everything with our front door, thermostats and have security while we are not there too.

Service has installed the Camera and the Alarm technician does nicely job and very clean jobs. Everything goes well with the service well explained with screen windows panels. I’ve never had a tech call or text me to get a preview of my problems before their visit. I bought a home that already had Vivint installed and they customized all of the equipment to our liking. Superb service.

I had an appointment to set up my system today and I can say that Alex did help get me started by communicating through text, there were issues with the pin setup and when I asked why there was an issue, his response was… “That happens sometimes”, seems to be working though, but he never walked through the system with me and I have devices, one of which is the front door lock that isn’t working properly! I tried to troubleshoot it with all the online tools and still could not fix the issue. I called the 800 for help and the lady on the phone had me going through all the things I already did and I could hardly understand what she was saying, heavy accent and the conversation became very frustrating.
I was asked to use Safari which is blocked on my phone and had to change my settings to get it to work, every time I was trying to explain something I was being interrupted. I wanted a tech to come out, since I did not get one in the first place and I never really got to finish the setup process with Alex who transferred me to an automated line to get my permit, even though he did not confirm we were finished. Very disappointed right now and I want a tech to come fix the issue at no charge.

I was skeptical in the beginning because I didn’t know what to expect. I used to ADT. It was pretty bad so I give a try to Vivint. Kris give a call. We talk about Vivint who I will work. I love the fact he explained everything about the system. I the most important for my is my kids' safety so Kris let me know that vivint system doesn’t base on the wifi and at that moment that was a totally yes for me so appreciate all the information that he provided about vivint. I’m so excited about receiving my new system.

My Agent was really good. My installer was superb. I feel much safer now that I have all the cameras, protections and even the smoke detector and thermostat with door keypad is super cool. Everything is official now that it’s all set up and ready. I kept their phone numbers to refer friends and family.

Vivint provided me a great service. I was lucky enough to have a technician in my local area, and my entire house and system was wired and installed the same day of purchase. The salesperson was upfront, honest, and personable. He succeeded in ensuring all of my needs were met. The technician was very nice and installed my entire home system in a short amount of time. Post-installation, he took the time to show my wife and I how to function the system on our phones and through the awesome panel. The system fits all of our needs and provides me a heightened sense of security for me and my family. I am active duty military, so when I deploy, I can be at ease that my family is safe. I would recommend this system to anyone and everyone!!!

We were interested in a security system. We felt we got more than we needed. The technician was at our home until after 1 a.m. We had to call today 6/10/22 for an itemized list of what was purchased. We also had our credit checked and we don’t like to use that. We asked about paying out right but we were told we had 0 interest. We are not happy to see several credit checks on our credit history. We also feel 4,000 is too much for the equipment.

Got paperwork done, got a tech the same day. He was professional, had all the equipment needed to set up all the equipment for the home security system. It was fast then anything I could have ever had experienced before. I will recommend to others if they need security. l hope they don't disappoint this new customer. I really don't know how it will work out so I will now see.

I'm satisfied with my decision to go with Vivint for home security. The install process was amazing: Cesar was at my house within an hour of signing my paperwork, which was very unexpected! He was professional, friendly, efficient, and informative. I was less happy with my experience with the salesman. I believed I was getting a motion-activated spotlight on one corner of my house, and the installer informed me there is no such equipment offered by Vivint.
My salesman also didn't make it clear that I would be entering into a loan for nearly $2500 for the equipment. It sounded more like a lease agreement I could cancel anytime without penalty. What I learned as I went through the paperwork is I now have a 5-year debt. I can cancel, but if I haven't paid off the equipment they will come remove it from my home. I went ahead with this because it's not unreasonable, but the salesman really didn't represent this well at all. I wonder if I could have procured similar equipment myself for less. I'm pleased that I can cancel the monitoring and keep the functionality of the equipment. I'm pleased that it was installed for me the same day I signed paperwork. Time will tell if I choose to recommend Vivint.

Can't say enough about Garrett **. He did an outstanding job, was able the handle everything that was thrown at him by an unexpected contractor that arrived at the same time of our install. I appreciate the coverage this system provides in-person and remotely. The video and audio capabilities of this system are of high quality. The alert notifications are accurate. The settings are intuitive and only require simple upfront instructions or demonstration from tech.

We just got our Vivint security system installed this week and so far we are extremely impressed with the entire system. Very good video quality and the entire system, including the app, works so smoothly. So far no issues to report at all. The app is even very impressive and we have our Nest thermostat connected to it.

I'm liking the whole set up but my cameras are always buffering and never really showing much. I do get notifications but that doesn't help if my cameras are always buffering and I can't see. I'm not sure about keeping them yet. We will give them some time and see if they actually STOP buffering.

Friendly guy came and quickly installed the items he had. There was a couple of things not here yet. He said they would be shipped and installed once they come in. We are still tweaking the setting and see how well it works later.

I told the salesman I didn’t have time to deal with it and that I did want to make the switch. He kept telling me he was done and then went on and he scheduled the install for that moment. I’m glad to have it but I needed it another day. I had to get someone to cover my shift caring for my elderly mother because he couldn’t make an appointment with me.

Very happy with the service. They were friendly and worked in a timely manner. They also cleaned up their mess before they left. Any furniture moved was put back in place. They even speckled a drill hole they couldn’t use.

Both the reps were nice and friendly. The rep that installed the cameras and door sensors did his job. He explained how to use the devices. The only issue was the sliding door sensor was not put on correctly and I was not able to lock the back door due to the sensor being in the way. I was able to correct it but that was about the only problem.

I was sold on this with the promise that the cameras were much better than the system I was using and that it would be cheaper. Every bit of that was wrong. It costs as much as my old system with cable tv and a home phone along with it. The cameras are not any better than what I had. I cannot link all my other smart devices in, it just tells me "this feature will be coming soon". The saving grace is that when I actually pay the few thousand to get the system paid off, it will compare to the price of what I was already using.

The products are great and with the lifetime warranty, if technology improves or equipment goes out, it’s replaced and upgraded free! The staff I met and worked with were great! As soon as I finished signing paperwork, there happened to be a technician in the area who was able to install everything the same day! I understand this might not happen all the time, but I was surprised by how quick their response was.

The installation guys were great but communication is everything...the salesman messed up my order then they didn't have all the equipment. Then my order went from one price to a completely different one...I was outraged then they didn't know how to cut a hole in the door to install the deadbolt...it was just a mess all around.

Just got install done. Installer Braiden was amazing and very professional. Only issues that we had were that some things were not told to us during sales portion by Luis. We were told that it was $0 cost to install. But then told we had to pay the monitoring fees before install. We were also told the window sensors would be in the package but we’re not on work order.

Overall we love the hub system and upgraded service from our old security provider. The draw back is camera access. I have had this service for a couple days and my camera feed to door and rear camera have dropped more than a handful of times causing me to reset the system.

Installer (Nick) was very thorough, asked our preferences and did his job very well and trained us to use system. Great young man; very hard-working. My biggest concern would be using a customer’s debit card as the only payment method and asking for a SSN. Very uncomfortable doing so.

Excited to have my system, but disappointed I had to schedule a tech to come back just hours after my system was installed. Power to panel is not connected. Tech can’t get here for a couple days, so I’m stuck waiting with no functionality (and a doorbell that doesn’t work). You have three days to cancel your service if you change your mind and I won’t get to try the service during that time since it’s not working and I have to wait for a tech to come back.

The first time we were contacted by Steve, the Vivint installer, was to verify the installation date and time along with a link to review prior to his arrival. The day of installation he again texted advising us of his approximate arrival time and arrived as scheduled. Steve was professional as well as knowledgeable and went about his work with quiet efficiency cleaning up along the way. When done, he helped us load the Vivint app, explained how to use it, and showed how it worked with the wall panel. Before leaving, he made sure everything was working and gave us the parts to our old system plus pieces of the new system that were not used. We were pleased and satisfied with all aspects of the installation and, as a technician, Steve’s abilities were second-to-none. The salesman and installers were professional and answered my questions. I would change the requirement to finance the monthly billing which is ultimately added as an outstanding debt on my credit report. It should just be set up as a regular bill to pay and still is the automatic payment secured with a credit card.

I am at the end of my 5-year contract. The monitoring service has been good but most of the equipment has failed.. Doorbell camera repeatedly but also glass break sensor and smoke detector (useless). Without even commenting on their ridiculous 3-day back out clause, the contract is brutal - you cannot get out of it unless you literally die. I have cancer and knew a few months ago I would not be renewing my contract with Vivint. I therefore did not get the cellular upgrade they wanted to install, literally a waste of time for them as well as me. They harassed me by phone 10x a day for months (mostly recorded Messages) despite me explaining to their customer service several times why I was not interested in having the upgrade done and that I would be cancelling service.
In the end I just ignored all their calls, including an actual security breach (cat knocked something off the counter and triggered the glass break) - assumed it was just another sales call. Ended up with half the police department at my house. Due to my illness I have submitted formal request to end service I asked to be excused from the contract for the last month or two, especially since their monitoring service apparently no longer even works due to the cellphone upgrade. NOPE. Not on your life. They tried to re-sell me another 4 year contract at $45/month. They re-billed my bank account again today. Hoping it's the last time. Also when trying to cancel they ask for specific personal reasons why you want to cancel. When a contract is up, it is none of their business why I wish to cancel. So, yeah.... bad taste in my mouth from this lot.

No "Out of Pocket" was misleading. It should be no up front cash outlay. Financing was easy though. The sales rep was nice and helpful. The technician worked hard in bad weather to get everything installed. I like that I can add more features later.

Sales guy Tanner was pretty through and likable. The install guys were quick but the main installer left for another job and left new guys. Which, we’re not bad. Just took a while to explain and test everything. Equipment works great and I like the price they have me at for everything. Could have lined up the hub a bit better. Photo included.

Our tech who installed our system responded quickly. He was there 18 minutes after the job was posted! Quick response which was nice since I didn’t have to wait another day to get the system installed and try to take off work. When he came in he was very nice. We have dogs and they barked the whole time. He was talking to them trying to calm them down and didn’t complain once about the noise. He worked quickly and efficiently. He was very knowledgeable on all of the products and helped explain them to me. He also intergraded some of our old equipment over to the new system. Made sure the cameras looked good. Showed me how to set them all up as well. Also had great conversation. Didn’t mind having a side conversation while working, never seemed annoyed at all. Amazing employee and glad to give him this review.

We have a pretty large package and our installer Calvin was AWESOME!!! Got everything installed, get us all setup and was very professional! I would HIGHLY recommend this to family member or friend. The only thing that needs to be worked on is the communication within the customer service department. I had people call people multiple times after already scheduling my appointment, I had to wait weeks before it was installed because my first appointment was canceled because of an issue of communication between the scheduler and our installer. It was worth the wait though.

Tad came to do a Vivint consultation on Friday around 5 PM. He made a great pitch with what equipment for our security system would best suit us. We made a decision to purchase Vivint, with the thermostat being part of our package. I didn’t realize the technician would come within hours of the same night (7 PM). I think because it was so late and he was so tired, the entire installation was rushed. The security pad above our front door was crooked and never fixed. Our installer left all cut wires in front of our security panel.
We woke up to the temperature being 75 degrees with multiple attempts to bring the temperature down. When we tried to turn down the temperature on the thermostat, the entire thing fell off the wall. We had to get another installer in here the next day, but even after I don’t believe it’s fully fixed. It’s embarrassing having to constantly hassle the company to have them come back because the work wasn’t installed properly the first time. If I had to go back and do it again, I would probably go with a company that has been around longer with more work experience.

Very friendly and professional installation. Our house had a few issues, especially with the type of HVAC system we have (ultimately incompatible, unfortunately). The installers nonetheless did a fantastic job with what we could, showed us where the cost would be reduced due to not having the two smart thermostats, and were extremely personable throughout the entire installation.

Nate came to my door around 5pm but my husband wasn't home from work yet so he stopped by later in the evening and spoke to us then. He was very informative and had a great demeanor. Got our installation scheduled for a half out later. The installer (I think his name was Ammon) was very professional and explained everything as he went along and even though it was very late at night he was still very positive about being there and seemed to enjoy what he was doing. I’ll be very honest. In this day and age I feel very uncomfortable with any type of door-to-door solicitation. For this reason I was very skeptical and hesitant. Especially since you have to provide a credit card and other sensitive information. I wondered the whole time if I was getting scammed or not by giving a young stranger this information. However, within minutes after signing the installers came to my house to install all the equipment.
I was very impressed with their courteous customer service. They were very respectful of my home and did an amazing job. They cleaned up after themselves and everything was done with precision. There was an issue with the doorbell not being in stock and they have to come back and install that later. I feel like this is something that should’ve been disclosed upfront with the sales people and that this could be a source of Customer dissatisfaction. Fortunately I had a lot of other equipment to get installed that took several hours but if someone was just getting the base package it would be a lot more disappointing to them.

Happy with my experience with Vivint Smart Home security system, so far. Unlike other competitors, their salesman did not give off the impression of just trying to sell a product. In my experience, there was no pressure tactics applied. There are other advanced features in the system that I’ve not even begin to use after it was installed. My wife inadvertently set off the alarm a few hours after installation and the response protocols showed the system works as advertised. Yes, you’re paying a premium but at the end of the day, I believe it’s a worthy investment in security.

Our salesman Trevor was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining the outstanding features that the Vivint system offered. When we agreed to buy the system, he called the installer, Adrian, who was at our home within 20 minutes. A very pleasant man, he went right to work, having all the equipment and tools he needed to do an excellent job. The wire runs were neat and straight. He used a spirit level to ensure equipment was level or plumb. He vacuumed up debris after drilling holes. When all the sensors, locks and cameras were in and working, he was thorough and patient as he showed us how to use all the features of our new system. I was truly impressed and could not have been happier with our finished installation. I have only the highest praise for both young men. They represented themselves and their company extremely well. But it was the sales person over the phone that was helping me. I think that the overall experience and service were okay. I do have a few points of constructive criticism and some overall takeaways from my experience. Tl;dr-mostly positive, though poorly timed experience. I would have had a much more positive experience and review if I had been given the time to consider options that I had requested. As it stands now, I cannot recommend the service to family due entirely to the sales tactics the company utilized, but would recommend their services from my experience thus far.
- Clarity. Service was clearly explained, cost was clearly explained, and what steps I would have to take were clearly explained. I know exactly what I would be paying, how I would be paying, and who to talk to about issues.
- Fantastic installation. Very honest and upfront about all my hardware options and features. Installation happened lightning fast.
- Price. Though the price will vary from customer to customer depending on features, I think the price of service is highly competitive and outweighs the slightly higher cost of hardware. Fantastic value from my limited experience so far.
- Technician Expertise. I’ll be brutally honest, I felt like I could trust the technician to give me honest answers more than the sales team. I knew exactly what was being done every step of the way, I understand the system, and he even took a moment to verify paperwork and ensure I knew what the cost per month was. He even explained in depth how the transition from my current security system to Vivint would go from a hardware perspective and I feel that in the 45 minutes or so he was there I had a clear understanding of the services and got excited to test them out and potentially expand service. Fantastic, fantastic experience.
Cons:- Timing. I would have preferred to have my afternoon free, but at around 7:30pm I got a knock on my door and it took until almost 10:30 before I was back to my own business.
- Pressure. I do not consider myself a naïve person and know that multiple salesman tactics were used on me. There was a lot of pressure to make a snap decision that I did not appreciate. Fantastic for making a sale, leaves a sour taste in my mouth and makes me question what the company values more, my security or my sale. If possible, more information and time to make a decision is preferable, especially when it comes to something as important as my safety and security. Especially since early on in the process I had indicated that I could not make a sure decision and that I was honestly interested, just needed time to gather my information. Some system to link initial contact with sale will prevent people like me from going through the motions just to cancel the next day.
- Professionalism. Two individuals came into my house to talk with me about the service. It was my understanding that they both are interns (awesome initiative!) and one was apparently new to the program, so I can be more forgiving. I do understand that shadowing may be slow, but while you are in a customer’s house and trying to make the absolute best impression possible, swiping on Tinder and watching social media during a time when I’m supposed to be getting sold on a product really hammers home the feeling that the sale wasn’t important at all to that person, let alone the product features.
