    The installer was sloppy with the install. Had to tell him more than once if he could rerun the wires cause they were not neat like he said they would be. Also drilled more holes than needed to check for studs. Overall not really happy with the install. Also didn’t show me how to set up the lock codes on the door either.

    We had Chad as a technician and he was really nice and helpful, we appreciate him. However we only got it installed 4 days ago and the camera has not been recording 24.7 like the Vivint vendor said, keeps saying person detected when no one has passed by (not even a car). We lowered the sensibility then it doesn't catch no one pass by at all.. We switched to Vivint from ADT because we were promised good service. At this point we are not happy with the service and regret switching over. We’ve already called and no one has came by to fix the problem.

My reasoning for changing is the price I will be saving After the equipment is paid off. My bill will be lower than ADT. I'm hoping this price range stays the same as I was promised no price increase... because that's the main reason I'm leaving ADT. Every few years their price goes up.     I just got my new Vivint system installed. It has so many features the other competitors don’t have. I live in a ranch style condo and they are very picky about what you can and cannot do to the outside of your unit. We had to get a little creative when it came to the dead bolt locking feature and my back door camera. I share the front porch with my neighbor. My old door bell camera basically showed their side of the porch. Now I can see down the sidewalk and out into the parking lot. The old one also did not record and now I will have 10 days of recordings. Alex the sales person and Austin the installer we so polite and explained everything. I am very happy I switched to Vivint.

    First of all it was a first class service. Every aspect from the sale to the installation was handled very professionally. Even though this is a five star review I did see a couple issues. Company issued DeWalt drills and mandated monthly monitoring fees. If you buy your equipment out right you do not have to pay for monthly monitoring. The cameras are second to none that I have seen and everything works.

    I got approved for a system for over two thousand dollars and all that was installed was the wall panel alarm, they keep messing up my order and making me pay separate prices for the camera to also be installed. Now I'm getting the run around on getting the correct system I first inquired about and when I told them to cancel the service because it's not right they're telling me that I have to pay a almost $800.00 dollars to cancel, the last time the guy was out here he was installing two doorbell cameras and no indoor at all.     Updated on 08/09/2022: Had security system installed with cameras and they say you can play back up to 10 days. From day one it will not play back. It is blank screen or it say video not available. We have Android phones. I tried to cancel the contract, but they said they are fixing the problem and it will be working soon. Called Vivint several time and they sent Technicians out and they all said it doesn't work very well with Android phone. Vivint said it's past the 3 day cancel so it will cost me $7000.00 to get out of the contract. But the system doesn't work, they just want money and they know it doesn't work with Android phones.

    They keep you past the 3 days and say they are fixing it and after the 3 day you have to pay the full amount to get out of contract. They will respond to this review to call them where they can resolve the problem. They have my number but they have already told me several time as soon as they get $7000.00 they will cancel the contract.

    Original: Salesman said it upgrade from what we have but it's a downgrade. Two panels, one downstairs and upstairs do NOT communicate with each other, you silence the arm to stay but the other one still beeps, the one upstairs is just a glorified key fob hanging on the wall, we had two panels one upstairs and one down stairs that was identical that would tell you what window or door was open or close (not a chime).

    Thermostat doesn't have a schedule on it so declined that. Camera's say a 10 day recording you go back to play and it says video not available, no information on main panel just arm or disarm and red or blue light. False alerts when you have something in your hands in front of the house it alerts you, you have a package delivered. Wished I never answered the door when salesman came by, it's not what he says. It's all a downgrade from other alarm companies.

    Vivint seems reluctant to provide any in person tech support. I am concerned that they are locking in customers who will be stuck with systems that are unsupported, yet who are unable to switch to other services without a massive contract exit fee. I am particularly concerned about the impact this will have on other elderly citizens.

    The denial of a service call was continual. They claimed that I could fix the problem "easily." (The problem, however, continued to change, but was always considered "easy" to fix without in-home tech service). The business' response was casual indifference, misleading claims of available service dates, misleading statements about the nature of the problem, and eventually, an extremely punitive cancellation process both in terms of length of time to cancel, number of stages to cancel, required methods of cancellation (both computer and phone), and the exit fee. Despite them punishing me for their not providing service, it was worth every penny never to do business with them again. I have spent over 5 hours on the phone with Vivint. They do not care to keep you as a customer. But they will make you miserable if you try to quit them.

    The person who came to do the installation didn’t do that good of a job and never put the smoke/carbon monoxide detector in. Said he didn’t have any with him and was supposed to come back! Also didn’t leave any sign and just put in one water detector as far as I can tell. Also, the camera on the back of my house is plugged into where my lighting for my back porch which he unplugged so now I have to climb up on something to plug the lights in! He didn’t know how to run the wires into the basement for the screen panel so with what he did doesn’t look very good. Getting in touch with the company to see if they can make corrections to his work. He also neglected to clean up mess he made. I included 2 photos of where I have to climb up to plug lights back in.

    The sales rep had no idea what the technicians could or could not do. We ended up having 4 different technicians come out and every time there was a new problem. It was extremely frustrating. The rep also told us that we could move the camera through the app which wasn't true. He also said one glassbreak sensor would be enough when in reality we needed 3. The sales reps need training on what the cameras could really do and where they could really be placed.

    Had we known what the requirements were for wiring them in from the beginning we could have been more prepared and not had to have 4 different technicians come out. Also every technician had a different problem. The first would say we could place one camera because of one problem. The next would say that's not a problem but this is. It wasn't consistent and it was very frustrating. Our last technician, Jon ** was amazing! He was able to figure out a way to get us what we needed

    It’s been 24hrs and so far so good. We have the lock, doorbell, 2 door sensors, 2 door cameras, and the fire/carbon monoxide detector. We’re a traveling family and though our neighborhood is pretty safe you can never be too safe. The technician was polite and efficient. I’d definitely recommend Vivint so far. No issues.

    Installation was quickly completed by polite, competent young men. No complaints. I have enjoyed the added security with the ability to watch my fence, where multiple people were teasing my dogs. Now I'm moving. I have to cancel, close, stop, whatever they call it, my account. My equipment is paid for. I was on hold 2 and 1/2 hours, and never was helped. I guess I'll have to resort to social media for help. I haven't noticed Snoop advertising for them anymore...Wondering if he got wind of this?

    I found the presentation to be very clear and understandable and address some concerns I had with my current provider. The installation went very smoothly and was able to utilize quite a bit of my existing system. I added exterior cameras which I didn’t have and also a much improved video doorbell. The indoor camera is very movable so it can be utilized for security while we are away or to monitor children or pets in different locations while at home. The quality of the picture is improved over my existing system and the outside cameras are easily adjusted using software to exclude frequent false positives such as people walking on the sidewalk of cars driving past my driveway. It’s really difficult for me to compare costs because I upgraded my system significantly from what I had. My homeowners insurance was reduced by a little over 200 dollars due to the additional security and smart home features.

    I moved into a house that had Vivint previously installed. I decided to give them a shot for my month to month security monitoring. However, I quickly realized they charged a log of money ($40 a month) for capabilities that provided us no benefit. In April of 2022 my credit card was compromised and as such the card they had on file was no longer working. I reached out to them, let them know I got a new card, my old card on file wouldn't be working anymore, and that I was no longer interested in paying for their services (even though I was month to month). They told me no problem.

    It is now July 2022 and I'm still being billed by them (to a card that is no longer valid) and received a late payment notice of $230. I've called them twice to make sure I don't actually owe that money as I requested to stop service 4 months ago, and no one can give me an answer. This last time I was transferred to customer loyalty (even though I cancelled) and they said "Oh we can't deal with that, that is billing" which is the department I had just been transferred from. These are con artists and do everything possible to make cancelling as difficult as possible. Use any service other than Vivint. If they keep pressing my late payment I will be contacting an attorney.
