    The installation of our new Vivint Alarm system went very smoothly. The installer was competent and very friendly. The instructions on using the equipment were complete and explained very well. Unfortunately, the installer forgot to leave our window stickers and yard sign. So, a week after our installation our only indication that we have an alarm is the stickers and yard signs of a Vivint competitor. Really want to advertise the right vendor.

    When I set up my appointment to have my install, I was told that I would by the person online and on the phone that I was getting half off the second camera I bought and that my monthly fee was going to be $50. Well the technician had no information on that and so I was charged only $100 off and getting charged $5 per camera, totally not what I agreed to when I inquired about Vivint. I was able to get the camera fees waived, but still didn't get 50% off my second camera. Also I was told on the phone that since I bought the equipment upfront I did not have to commit to a contract, once a again total lie and had to commit to a 60 month contract. Feel like you guys pulled a bait and switch on me. First impression not great. Installer was great and professional, but something must have gotten messed up between agreed upon terms and installation.

    Took way too long to install the system as the main hub was not doing the two way connection. Delayed everything I needed. Basically it was a 4hr installation where it should of only taken 2.5hrs. My fiancé who was listening through our ring system said that the installers were not very professional as they were talking about their personal life and going back and forth from the house as I was working inside. She has all the video footage and would like for me to file a complaint for the lag of time taken and unprofessional manner of speaking and talking on the job while lounging around.

    Salesman promised Garage Door(s) protection, a BIG item for me. Install tech says he couldn’t do it, my openers are too old. Salesman says Vivint doorbell cameras are better, they will show packages lying at the foot of the door - they do NOT, they don’t see that far down. Salesman says Smart Home Package includes motion detectors inside of the house, Install Tech never mounted them. Install Tech left a big mess behind, sawdust and wallboard dust everywhere he drilled holes, and empty boxes and plastic wrappers strewn all over. Salesman never left his contact number, so no other recourse to fix these problems than to call Vivint Customer Support. I called Vivint Customer Support and Kelly B. was very helpful and apologetic and scheduled me a Rush appointment to get another Service Tech out to correct all of the install problems, which is two weeks out. We will see what happens then.

    I was excited to learn that my new house had a full system already installed. The CS Rep was really helpful and friendly with my appointment. The activation was easy, but Alex was not great. I guess my system is active, but nothing seems to be working right. No cameras work, sensors are off, and the doorbell camera is not responding. Sitting on hold so long I had to hang up and being directed to a general number is not really my definition of good service; I am a brand new customer. I have a great system that I can not even use.     Man where do I start? Everything was going good until the tech guy came and did installation. The doorbells I'm happy with. Motion and glass break sensor I'm happy with but for the life of me I have no idea why he put almost a 1¼ inch hole in my wall. I was highly disappointed. He could have asked or told me, "Hey gotta drill a big ** hole" but nope. He just did it so now if I want out I'm gonna have this ugly hole in my wall. All he had to do was put monitor next to door, run wire down door frame but nope. Ok I know not anyone will read this but if you guys do I will be glad to send images. I'm at work right now.

    First off, I would like to say that the rep that showed up was very friendly, knowledgable but the installation process was an absolute nightmare. The first time they were scheduled, the installer checked that I wasn’t home and moved on. But when I called to complain and reschedule the address on the paperwork was incomplete (no street no) and he didn’t call me to try and figure it out.

    The second time somebody came out they still had the street name spelled wrong, but luckily the installer just put in the first couple letters in his GPS and it came up. When he got here there were mistakes all over the place, the physical address had a typo in it, and the billing address was complete nonsense, just said Grant street - no address, completely wrong zip code. It took him an hour and a half to get the paperwork enough right (there was still a major mistake in the mailing address) so he could start the install. All had to do is install 3 cameras and a medical necklace, and he was here for 5 1/2 hours! Let’s hope their equipment and service is a lot better than their call center. Not very optimistic. We’ll see.

    The sales pitch from the salesman was thorough and well presented. After hearing my objections to price, he said you can get 30 days no hassle trial. A simple pay and refund if you don't want it. This is where things went in a different direction. When we discussed the equipment and installation the sales person said since his installers are in the area he was authorized to give the doorbell, fire and co detection, and two flood sensors for free along with installation and a 30 day trial.

    The technician arrived was polite and efficient. My standard is could they do it better than I can, and he most certainly did. However, he did not have the flood and fire on the order but did give me one flood sensor. Further he said there was four cameras on the purchase but I only said two and he installed just the two. At this point I had not seen an itemized bill to see what I would be purchasing. I figured it would be around the amount I was financed for, and I was right. I still haven't seen an itemized bill and only saw the finance amount after I set an account with the lender.

    Doing a minimum amount of research over the next day, using Forbes as my source (they use this company during the sales pitch), I learned I am paying almost double what I should for the installed equipment. When I saw this I requested an itemized bill and still haven't received it. Also, the only cancelation policy is for three days from installation not the 30 days. I brought this to the attention of the sales representative and he said it's honored and we just need to communicate. This isn't the right approach. If it isn't written it isn't honored.

    The equipment is quality equipment but overpriced. I expected this to some degree, because this is a common theme throughout all reviews from consumers and professionals alike. I expect the price and experience for each potential customer will vary based on the sales staff that buyers encounter. As for me, my salesman has overpromised and under delivered on price, equipment, free products, and trial period. I understand everyone needs to make money and that I would spend more, but due to the behavior of the salesman I will have to cancel for a system I and my family see value and would prefer to keep.

    The disappointing part is that customer service is reflected during the sale and should be considered when evaluating customer service. My salesman has cost Vivint a sale because of simple mistakes. I don't think there will be resolution with this issue because every response on these review sites is a canned entry to call. I am but one potential customer lost so no value in correcting the sales issues. Learn from my lesson and mistakes potential buyers.

    The doorbell needs wires which I didn’t know because it says smart hub. Calling to speak with representative (20min wait) transferred twice. Not helpful at all. Horrible Horrible Horrible. I am still on hold to reach someone who can help. This is a very expensive service with horrible customer experience. Then when I ask to cancel I was told they are closed.

    The units were installed quickly, but it’s wasn’t particularly good customer service. The system was installed and there was zero instruction on how to use the system. I have very little idea what I have or exactly how to use it. I was told my sales person would come back after it was installed and go over things and that didn’t happen. I asked the young man who installed the desktop unit for a longer cord, he put one in and it’s still too short. This is not the service I anticipated when I signed it on the dotted line. I was expecting above-average service and right now, I am not even sure what I have and what it will do. So I’ve paid this money and essentially all I know I have is fancy locks on my door and an expensive thermostat I can program from my phone. Do I feel confident that I have made a wise purchase? No. Then, on top of that, the batteries in my motion detectors need replacing in less than two weeks.

    The salesman brought in a technician very quickly. While that was impressive there was no communication about if that worked for our schedule or time. The technician stayed three hours and still did not finish at 9:00pm. We live in a home built in the 1930’s and your technician's training was too presumptuous and lacking in consideration. Things were being banged on, drilled, stapled, hung on places with historical significance or aged fragility. We would stop him and ask him to try to redirect him or have a conversation and his usual reply “this is where this should go”. His questions about preference came after he already installed a piece of hardware. There was little explanation or communication about what was happening. It felt very intrusive and disrespectful to our home.

    We were told we couldn’t hang our doorbell camera on the shutter that was next to our door so he removed it and mounted the camera on the siding. The siding slat he mounted it to has the camera pointing upward so the camera’s effectiveness to see packages/mail on the front step is void. And now that it is hung, I see no reason why the shutter need removed. It would have hung level and square in the shutter just fine.

    We were not told wires would be drilled through our walls to the outside and stapled to the top of our 90 year old base boards. We were not told large holes would be drilled in our old doors. We were not told debris would be left on our floors. We were not told or asked of optional locations or solutions to hardware mounts or process. Your technicians need training when working on older homes. You cannot jimmy-rig/half-ass solutions for paying customers that take great pride in the restoration and care of their homes. Our home is our safe place and it did not feel safe in the hands of your technician.

    Installation was done same day as the consult. The installer, Ethan was very friendly and informative on the products. After installation, he walked me through all of the safety features my system had to offer. He made sure all of my questions were answered and made sure it was comfortable using the system before heading out. I'm very impressed by the quality of the product so far. My home feels safer and more protected with my new security system.

    From Vance knocking on our door to Phil putting the finishing touches on our cameras and installs, the service was great. Both were very straightforward, nothing was misleading. Phil was VERY thorough going through the setup process, did a great job installing (and cleaning up!) our system.
