    My experience with Vivint Security from the initial setup was great. Setting up the contract and getting established was superb.? Francis B is a great person. The installer though was late getting there and didn’t relay that if he was coming the next day after 5:00pm. He said that he was coming but didn’t show up. I called him…(Not him calling me) And he took the liberty to tell me that he was sorry and was out on another job with his Supervisor. But he would be on his way as they were finishing up. (6:00pm) He was a No Show! I’m disappointed especially since I’m paying a couple of thousands of dollars from your company and Gage the installer didn’t show up. Terrible installation Customer Service.

    The product is great, but customer service is terrible. I’ve been trying to resolve an issue for the very longest in regards to billing. It’s been about three months. I may still haven’t done anything to fix it. Make sure you record your conversations with them because they’ll tell you one thing and then they won’t honor it. I signed up for the DIY package and upgraded. I have a total of five cameras and nice nine sensors and they want to charge me a couple thousand dollars. Their product is so expensive. I was told I was going to get three months' free worth of service and a refund that I’m supposed to be expecting. More like a credit to my account and I still haven’t seen that. My monthly payments are more than my vehicle. This is ridiculous.

    I purchased a Vivint home alarm and monitoring system approximately 6 months ago. I've had 17 visits and from their service technicians and still they can't figure out why the cameras keep going offline. The last technician gave me the option to continue trying to figure out why the system keep going offline or to deem my system unserviceable and Vivint still will not cancel my contract and refund me the money I've spent on this worthless system. This system was over $7,000.00. I caution everyone to think twice before signing a contract with Vivint.

    We are a new construction home. Everything was going pretty well, before camera installation started. The drywall inside the garage got damaged. The attached image IMG_7098.jpg is what my builder has already patched the next day (and huge gratitude to them as they are not responsible for that damage whatsoever!). There was a large crack in the wall. The outer (stucco) wall was drilled, but when the technician couldn't drill through the wall I asked him to stop as I realized he didn't know how to proceed. The second cam was not installed (IMG_7101.jpg). I'd expect way more care during installation while also taking responsibility for damages and not a comment "I don't know, it just cracked."

    While the system is good with cameras and remote access, just hope you never have to contact customer service. I had an alleged alarm in which Vivint claims they sent a security company. There is no such visit shown on the cameras. Customer service is offshore which workers that are difficult to understand.     When I first reached out to Vivint, a customer representative reached out to me. I wasn’t able to complete the transaction that moment, so I ended the call. He was able to text me on my phone and asked me throughout the day. Additionally, I received several calls from the Vivint customer service line with different sales reps, asking me about getting services. It felt like badgering, and I was very annoyed. Despite this, I still had an agent come out to house as I needed security. I was told the initial cost would be around $30-$70 a month, and when I asked about equipment pricing, the customer service rep on the phone stated that I would determine that when the technician showed up.

    I didn’t really like that answer but accepted it anyway. When the insulation expert showed up, there were no markings on the car indicating that it was Vivint associated, and he was only wearing a Vivint polo shirt. He was not wearing any identification. I wasn’t happy about this, but did not say anything as I am a single woman who lives alone. He was very poor at explaining other details of the system, and did not tell me about a website that I could use to assist me. He was at my house for more than four hours, and when he left, he asked me to do a survey. The name corresponding to the technician on the survey did not match his, and he just shrugged it off and said that I would have to contact Vivint anyway to fix that if I was really concerned. I did not like the fact that I had to do financing with a credit card company to obtain my security system, either. I give it two stars for having a decent security system, but I was unhappy with the overall experience.

    Paid off the equipment balance in December. 12/29/2023 9:17 AM: Called to cancel monitoring service and was told I would need to pay out the remainder of the monitoring to the end of the contract. $450. I did not think this was correct per the contract. 1/8/2024 9:30 AM: Called to cancel. I was told again that I would need to pay off the remainder of the monitoring to the end of the contract. I read the contract verbiage to him that once the balance of financed equipment was paid this could be canceled with a 30-day notice. He said no but confirmed that I was right after talking with a supervisor. Only then did he and share the email address and required content to send in the email. Said we would pay the last month but be credited $25. This phone call lasted 1 hour and seven minutes. A cancellation email was sent at 10:38 AM. (These are two different interactions in which fraudulent business tactics were utilized.)

    1/10/2024 1:50 PM: Follow-up phone call to verify the email was received and processed. I was told the cancellation was processed on 1/8/2024 and would not pay another monthly payment. I changed the payment information to ensure there would not be any further activity in my banking account. 2/1/2024 3:56: Follow-up phone call to customer loyalty to verify the email was received and processed. They did not show it had been canceled. Reprocessed the cancellation documents. Assured me that it would be canceled on or before 2/9/2024. My access to the Vivint monitoring app was discontinued about this time.

    3/6/20214: 10:30 AM: Called customer service as I received an email stating that a payment had been attempted and failed. They shared that customer service does not show it as canceled on their side. They transferred me to the cancelation department and I spoke with Nicole who requested a supervisor to handle it. I was told that I would receive a $61 credit for the incident which hasn’t been received. 3/19/2024: I received a phone call from customer service stating the previous payment had failed and wanted payment. I explained the continuing circus and she requested a supervisor put this matter on urgent correction.

    3/20/2024: I received another phone call from customer service stating the previous payment had failed and wanted payment. I again explained the continuing circus and asked her to ensure that I would not be called again. Also, on 3/20/2024, I finally received an email verification that the cancellation was effective on 3/20/2024. (These are three more interactions in which fraudulent business tactics were utilized.) 3/22/2024: I received a bill from my local police department for answering a false alarm that originated 8 days prior. My grandson triggered an alarm on the keypad which I immediately cancelled. Because Vivint had not completed my request on a timely basis, this went to their monitoring which called the police and I was charged $100 for responding to a false alarm.

    A very nice young man introduced us to Vivint. He explained to us about cameras lights, broken glass detectors door opening and closing detectors, a special smoke detector, and a phone app. He helped estimate what it would cost for us, our interior access. We were interested, but not at what the monthly fee would turn out to be. He removed One camera. The smoke detector and recalculated bringing the monthly fee down to less than 100. I cannot remember if he explained that in 5 years the cost would drop. He had to call a manager a few times and I had to input information in my phone in all before the process was done six times. This was rather a little laborious. I'm 83 years old and not great at electronics. We made a deal after at least 4 hours. It was already close to 7:00 p.m. and I was surprised that he said a technician would come in 15 minutes. Well, I was not interested in installation after that already long day.

    The technician took longer than 15 minutes to arrive because somehow he had Northwest 35th Street instead of Northwest 35th Terrace. That was one of the reasons we redid the information on my phone. As I redid the information I noticed that it pre-populated with terrace, not Street. I do not blame this young man. I think it's something between the phone app and the company. In any case we rescheduled a technician for the following day.

    The technician was very nice, personable and competent. Installation took much longer than estimated which I blame more on our old house and the block walls than the technician. Again, it was almost 7:00 p.m. when he was finished and very little time was devoted to instructing us on use of the system. Also, I expected a yard sign or window stickers or something. I did not get them. He showed us how to find the company number to call and I probably will so that we can learn more about how to use our system.

    My experience with Vivint has been a really painful one. The rep came to my house last year saying they were out in my neighborhood doing a buyout from ADT as they had a promotion going on. I agreed and signed up with him and he asked me to call ADT and cancel service with them so he can forward it to customer loyalty so they can handle the buyout. NONE of this never happened and now I am stuck with 2 contracts.

    I have called customer service countless times and they keep saying they are trying to reach the sales guy's manager and no one ever gets back to me. They told me I needed to proof by a text message from the sales guy that Vivint was going to buyout my contract from ADT. My question is why will I switch companies if there was no buyout option. Their service is the worst. It keeps dropping throughout the day and I have to manually readjust the temperature 3 times a day. The installation over the garage is poorly done and I have to keep readjusting the camera because it keeps dropping and only capture my driveway. It won't even capture a car parked on the street infront of my house. And with all these, I am paying 2 contracts.

    I emailed customer service text messages of where I sent the sales guy my termination letter from ADT and they still told me it was not enough proof. Their equipment is crazily expensive too. I pay $60 for the equipment monthly and $38 for service which is almost $100 monthly bill. This company is a scam. Please stay away from this company. I recently got laid off and can't afford to payoff any of my contracts. It's a sad situation because I was really happy about switching and thought it was a great move. Please stay away from vivint.

    I spent no less than THIRTEEN HOURS being transferred between departments and waiting on hold to finally confirm cancellation of their system. I have this in writing. Five months later I am still getting multiple calls at 6am about the money they say I owe on a canceled system at a house I no longer live at. Rasaan came back that second day to be sure the system was working well for us and that we understood how to use it. By the way, I was actually working in my flower beds one of the times Rasaan returned; he borrowed a pair of gloves from me and helped pull weeds from under a tree where I was having difficulty cleaning them out!
