    Salesman was great and very thorough in his explanation of products. We purchased multiple cameras, the thermostat kit, and smart locks. The only complaint I had was the tech installed the smart panel with very tacky cords showing in a way that was not acceptable. My husband did bring this up and it was fixed to look more discrete and they patched the hole in my wall. After fixing that I was pleased with installation. No comment on service yet as we've on had for about 24 hrs so far.

    I’m pretty happy with the system. I wouldn’t say cameras, particularly in my carport are particularly sensitive to detecting motion though. I appreciate the whistling sound the cameras make, however, it does not always go off right away and depends on where you’re standing (even in the detection zone). Happy with the 24/7 monitoring, and the doorbell. I must say I’m disappointed with how the wiring was done. I wasn’t aware that cords were going to be visible and going down my walls. I really dislike that and wish I was told beforehand that that would be the only way.

    I was told “I can paint the wire” but who wants to do that? The outlet plate was not put back on properly and caused chips all on my paint. Not a good job done there and will have to have an electrician come out and fix it. It would also be important to note that it’s a safety hazard to put a plug right up against a surface that has fabric. When I came into my room for the night my outlet and Vivint plug was burning hot which resulted in my bed that was pushed all the way up against the plug to overheat. Please be aware that that is literally a fire hazard. Does Vivint not know how to install additional outlets? Or better yet hide their cords into the wall? Maybe I’m missing something- just would have liked to understand that process a little better.

    Installer was nice - didn’t love the bathroom breaks by both installers and being asked if he could keep his Gatorade kept in my fridge. Yes, I know, not very hospitable of me but I keep that reserved for close friends and family. I prefer for customer service agents to complete the job without much chit-chat or asking me questions like what I do for work etc etc. I will probably call Vivint to see if there’s different ways the cords can be hidden, but I have a feeling I’ll need to hire someone on my own, as well as hire someone to fix the awful job of ruining my outlet cover and surrounding paint. Overall 3/5 stars and I give the security system about a 4/5.

    To start, my installer was great. 5 stars to him. First I was called multiple times by a guy named Chris who said he sold Vivint and ADT but said Vivint was better. He supposedly was concierge for buying a new home. Was later informed he most likely works for Vivint and that’s their sketchy sales tactic. Chris then quoted me $68/per month and that would drop to $25/per month after equipment is paid off. That was to include the hub, doorbell camera, 1 outside camera, 3 door sensors, and a glass break sensor.

    Installer gets here and informs me it’s gonna be $124/per month and includes only hub, doorbell camera, 2 door sensors, and a motion (which I told them I couldn’t have because of large dogs). I ended up getting it all at the price I was quoted because I was gonna send the installer on his way. Mediocre security and sketchy tactics. I still might cancel in my 30 day window.

    The quality and images of the cameras are great BUT the price of the equipment is INSANE. It’s not worth the price they pitch you. Plus at least half the time my home doesn’t arm. The software is horrible on this system. I have filed for a refund but when you try to cancel it’s take 30 plus days for them to close your account and then more time just to schedule for someone to pick them up.

    Yesterday, a young man stopped at my house as I was just returning home. He told me who he was and his purpose for the visit. Next thing I know, I am signing up for a full home.security system, with cameras, new locks, new smoke detectors, . . . Too much to remember. Miguel, the young man, kept reiterating that they ask for flexibility in scheduling the installation. I mentioned to him that I needed to wrap it up, as I had to meet my son for dinner out. When I thought we were wrapped up, he told me that a guy named Justin would be at my house in 15 minutes for installation. I reminded him that I had to leave, and he said that if they had to reschedule, I would have to pay $500. Up to this point, I felt comfortable as Miguel and he had earned my trust. But, I told him directly that I felt like this fresh trust was breached, and that he should have mentioned it sooner, like when I told him about my scheduled dinner.

    My son brought over a pizza, the installers made quick work of their install and all was good. Justin went through the system, they cleaned up after themselves and were patient and efficient. I told Miguel that him not alerting me sooner about the install being that night is something I hope he can correct in future, but after thinking about it, I am sure that is his task was company policy. He was bright, well mannered, knew his stuff and made me feel at ease. I have security at an affordable price and would recommend your company to friends and family.

    Just like many others, the salesman showed up after 8pm, told us he waived all the costs and had the installers come same night to install equipment. Next morning I get an email from a finance company saying an acct was opening and they paid Vivint 4K. I tried to cancel immediately, which took massive effort. Was able to send my cancellation letter to them within in the time frame. I have now scheduled 3 different appointments, where the tech has not showed and not called. They said they cannot refund the 4K to the finance company until they receive their equipment back, but no one seems to come to get it!!!! I have only 20 days for them to get the equipment or I get stuck with charges. I am so angry and no one at customer service is helpful at all. My next call is to the BBB and the local DA.

    I moved into a home that already had roughly $2,000 worth of Vivint equipment installed and paid for. Curiously, I activated the subscription to enable their features. I did some research after the review (mistake) and discovered the slew of lawsuits and shady business practices Vivint has dealt with. Between that, their premium prices compared to competitors, and awful compatibility with third party hardware, I quickly called to cancel my subscription since it was a trial period.

    We are now on day 3 of trying to cancel. The phone call took almost an hour, over half of which was on hold between talking through 3 younger employees repetitively reading scripts trying to get you to stay. I feel so bad for them. They make you submit an email at the end of this just to top it all off. While this all may be legal, their business practices are infuriating to deal with. I beg that Vivint does not contact me any more after (and if) they even issue my refund, which I’m also sure will take a long time.

It was not until the technician came when we actually found out that we were paying over $5,000 for the system.     The selling point was good. The person doing the selling convinced me to purchase the service. Made it look good and I am satisfied but not to 100. Maybe to about 80%. The window breaking alarm keeps going off for no reason. It goes off when I’m not home and in places where I have no signal or can’t access my phone and the police comes. The back of house cameras keep going offline, keep rebooting the system but it keeps happening. Both things have me quite annoyed and I’ve even considered just getting rid of the service all together. I wanted at least a couple of weeks of service before giving out a review about it.

    Dissatisfied! I'm unhappy about after the tech installed my thermostat my new AC unit will not come on! It was 11:00pm when the tech finished.     If I could give 10 stars I would. From the very first interaction with Vivint (first was a chat on the website), I was impressed. The chat agent quickly answered my questions and scheduled a follow on call for the next day. The agent called on time and was very knowledgeable and professional.     Vincent stopped by while walking my neighborhood and I happened to be wanting an alarm system but had been putting it off because I knew it was expensive from the local bay alarm company that I’ve used in the past. After we walked the house for cameras I was stoked to learn I could get a thermostat garage door opener and doorbell camera all part of one complete system with the usual sensors and glass break and monitor that classic systems used. Then he called a service installed and they came 10 minutes after all the paperwork was signed! I thought that was awesome!

    Sharita came over we went over everything again and decided we should get one more camera just in case. She was the coolest alarm installer I had ever met and was very kind, quick, and professional. Her coworker Michael came over to help finish the job more quickly and he was awesome helping me setup the garage door app before we link everything into one app. Once Sharita was finished she took the time to walk me through EVERYTHING and I mean everything and then ask if I had any questions or wanted to know about more features and I asked about zWave compatibility which it is compatible.

    They cleaned everything up, explained why they were leaving boxes in case something happened in the next 3 days, better safe to have the boxes and not need them. I think the price is perfect for the level of service I received on install it was amazing. And I’m very thankful for the summer team helping me out. It was so cool to hear about vivint's summer program for college kids I think that’s great.     I can’t speak more highly of how knowledgeable Cody was and how efficient he was during the install process. We had a rep front Vivint come out a few days prior and told us we couldn’t install cameras in any of our back yard locations and that we would need to install a outlet at the panel location.     We had Vivint installed last year. We love the system; it keeps us safe. It alerts us to people on the premises, alerts us to packages that have been delivered and when someone rings the doorbell. I particularly like the deter alert that lets people know they are being recorded. With all the vehicle break-ins it helps to keep my vehicles safe. People see the cameras and also can hear the deter tone. The app works well and allows me to remotely view my home when I am alerted, also if I just want to check up on it. I am also able to arm and disarm the alarm remotely. All in all, it is a very reliable system. The installer was professional and ended up spending 3 hours installing the system and explaining to us how it works.

    For something so expensive, it should at least work correctly. I've had my system for 2 and a half months and already had two issues. First, garage door sensor wasn't working, technician came and fixed and it stopped working again. I wound up deleting it. Now, one of the cameras shut off and it couldn't be rebooted so I have to waste another day waiting for a technician. Even worse, customer service actually tried to sell me something else as a solution to the problem. Troubleshooting comes up with some crazy things for you to try to do as well. Ask around before committing to them.

    The tech drilled so many holes in my home and wired my home so bad that the manager had to come out and redo the whole installation process all over not to mention the price I was quoted and what I see in the app is so different that I know I'm not going to keep this service. He knew all the other systems because I had already researched them and he was incredible accurate.     I had time constraints today for the install and made sure the sales rep knew this. The install team was late but did keep me informed of their arrival. Install took longer than anticipated due to some unexpected issues but because of my prior commitments, I had to leave while they were still at my house. Still waiting for service technician contact info for the smart thermostat. Clean up post install could have been better given that they knew I had a young puppy in the house. Overall, nice techs who worked hard but install could have been smoother.

    Went from ADT to Vivint and before they started the estimated time of installation was 6 1/2 hours. Mine took 11 hours. He had trouble with running the wire through the attic for the outdoor camera. But I must say he was tenacious and got the job done. I haven’t had the system long enough to review, but it seems like I will enjoy using it.

    I had the system for about a month. The system is fine it is the support. I got a low battery message on my control panel 6 days after installation. The online help tips are horrible. When I called the first time I was informed the battery on the control pad has to be changed by myself and instructions would be emailed. Never got them, second call after researching and online said panel has rechargeable batteries why am I getting the warning. Then was told it was a camera with low battery and again up to me to change battery. So I asked to cancel my service, was transferred to retention was set up for a tech to come, and tech never showed up or called. The first tech appointment was two weeks after installation for a digital thermostat also a no show no call. The technical support is so inferior and I am sorry I got the system.

    Do Not, I repeat, DO NOT purchase this equipment. The salesman lied, lied, lied. He told us we would be in a 60 day trial period yet two weeks after having this equipment installed, we received bills. When questioned, they informed us it's for the equipment which is through some bank. This particular bank places it on your credit card so your score is impacted. In addition the salesman was supposed to video the transaction so that any discrepancies could be verified and he didn't so it's his word against ours yet how would I know about a trial if it wasn't mentioned. This company is out to con individuals plain and simple.
