    Don't do business with this company. I was a customer for 7 years and all they did was keep trying to upsell me. They charge 100 dollars for a repair visit. When I notified them in writing that I was canceling my service, they said we nt me an email that my cancellation had not been "approved". They continued to change me 100 dollars monthly fee on my cr we did card. Only when I went to the Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau did they credit me back 6 months worth of fees and cease charging me. Utah Attorney General's Office is the only way to go with these people.

    Hey guys. I was skeptical about getting this alarm system but I’m happy to report I am very satisfied with my whole process!!! The representative who I talked to over the phone whose name was Chris was awesome with telling me about pricing and equipment. Then he was able to get me a same day appointment, really but he did it. The tech came out to my house around 3pm and he explained in detail what he was going to do and was just as nice as Chris.     Vivint maybe good in what it is doing but, in my case, the story was bad. I made the mistake of my life to sign up with them for a service I did not really need but to try it. But to get out of it, it is a nightmare... Spent couple months trying to convince them that they are mixing my account with the house ex owner account, and they do their best not to understand and keep stealing my money. At the end when we came to agreement that I need to fill a cancellation request form and send it to them, I did and 6 months later they were still stealing money quietly like a little thieves.

    The conversation I had over the phone with Cory was different from what I actually received on my account.     I had a line of credit set up for Vivint with another company and did not realize it. However they decided to go into my checking account and take the full over $1800.00 even with the line of credit. They also decided to set me up on two different lines of credit because I purchased a couple more cameras. The sales person came out to inform me that the cameras were outdated and needed to upgrade. I should've done more research before agreeing. However I already had a line of credit and they ran my credit and set up an additional line of credit.

    The tech that did the installation informed me to trash the original cameras because I had the new cameras. He informed Vivint he did not tell me that, but I know he did. This is such an unethical company and if I could I would never, ever do business with them again. So whatever you do think before you do business with this company. They have some hidden agendas and they are a total rip-off. They only provided three free months of monitoring and does not hold their sales people and technicians accountable.

    Absolutely the shadiest, dirty, underhanded, worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is beyond atrocious. All they care about is money. DO NOT USE! They lied about how they would transfer our service, they required us to pay for service at an address we were no longer at, told us we had to pay for new equipment at our new address even tho they told us to leave our equipment at our old address, equipment we’ve also had to continue paying on and when I called to cancel, they charged me $167.86 to cancel but never canceled the service and continued to bill me. They are thieves! Do not use them. Do not trust them. They do not care about existing customers.

    The tech that came over to install the equipment was very polite and patient with me. He explained everything I needed to know and went over it as many times as I needed. He was also very accessible after the installation and helped me to trouble shoot and fine tune the system. I would highly recommend Keron (my tech). Customer service was a problem.     Pleased with installation. Next day got a message that there was a low battery on one of the sensors. 45 minutes using the chat for tech service. Very poor quality assistance. They finally had me sign out to reboot the app, which of course disconnected the chat without resolving the issue. Tried calling the 1-800 #. A woman couldn’t help saying it was a “MyQ” issue and not her problem. Gave me another 1-800 #, which ended up being for the MyQ medic alert and they couldn’t help with the sensor. I called back the Vivint 1-800# and got a different tech who could not see any notice regarding a low battery. Not too impressed with customer service.

    Awful. Horrible install job, lousy customer service and no way to get out of the contract now unless I die. I've been asking them to cancel only to be constantly sent to different people and no actual email where I can send a formal cancellation letter. The technician who installed our system was 20 years old and obviously doesn't own a home. He drilled straight into our exterior brick and our siding to install the cameras. He also left everything exposed - all of the wires are just hanging out of the wall. Now we have to pay thousands of dollars for this equipment and our home is forever damaged until we can fix it, not to mention, this looks like an amateur who has no experience completed the job. The system constantly freezes up or has to be rebooted. This happens at least once a day. We have asked for someone to come out to fix this only to be told we have to pay a technician to come out. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

    On August 21, 2024, Maya **, a salesperson for Vivint security systems knocked on my 80 something year old parent’s door. They were interested in changing security companies so wanted to hear what she had to offer. We were rushed through the process and not given the opportunity of sleeping on it and researching if we wanted a "better deal." Installation started at 7:30 pm, less than an hour after signing the documents. I left at 9 returning at 10:30pm to find the installer still there and refusing to leave until we signed a 5 year contract. Maya had told us we did not have to sign a contract, that it would be month-to-month. We were also told Vivint would buyout our active security service contract. So in duress they signed the contract so they could finally go to bed.

    However, a couple weeks later we find out they would only buyout a third of the other company’s contact. When we learned this we decided to cancel the contract but were railroaded into paying for the month of service they‘d received. We didn’t feel we should be responsible for this since Vivint never paid off our other security service (at this point we were being billed by two companies). It wasn’t until we used the key words ‘elder abuse’ did we finally get them to agree to cancel our contract with no money owed. Please avoid this company, their business practices are despicable.

    I had a misleading salesperson tell me I could get discounted items on my purchase and after hearing that the company was better since being purchased by this company that upgraded its equipment and didn't have the problems they had in the past.     Don't waste your money, the service is horrible. I'm calling the company at least once a month as the system shuts down. My front door will unlock on its own and then relock. I can never view my cameras when I'm home. I always get either a black screen for the spinning wheel. So anytime someone is at my door I cannot see or talk to them. I always call the company to address my issues especially about not being able to see my cameras when I'm home and they can never help me. This service is supposed to be for me to feel safe and secure which I don't, I think I feel more unsafe knowing my front door can unlock at any time especially if I'm not home.

    My installation professional was great. It said install takes 3-4 hours but she was done with everything including educating me on how everything works in about 1.5 hours. My internet didn’t have the appropriate speed for my cameras and she been told me what to do about that with my WiFi provider and now I’m all set. She was friendly, but professional with a great personality. She let me ask as many questions as needed and she didn’t leave until I was comfortable. I have her work phone number and she told me I could call her at any time with any questions so I wouldn’t have to wait on hold calling the toll free number. Now, that’s great customer service.     I was a Vivint customer for over 7 years. Sadly I must say how horrible this company treated us. My husband is veteran with some health issues. I myself have heart issues and problems with walking and other body functions. With this being said, every time over the last 7 years I asked them to come fix the issues and get our cameras working they declined. I’d ask for a tech they would tell me I’d have to hoop jump, I told them countless times I’ve rebooted the system (over the 7years doing this monthly, I don’t need to be told how to do it) they would tell me I must do this over the phone with me. I’d say can you just send a tech, it’s the panel. It’s been the panel every single time! (I’ve worked for security companies I know how this goes and what absolutely has to be done) Vivint would not send out techs!

    When I called yesterday to finally cancel my account for yet another issue - we had a delivery driver enter into property with signs clearly posted to not enter into the property without verbal permission from the owners. - it was not given. We have BIG Dogs, I do this for safety and to protect ourselves. The man ran from the dogs and left my gate open! My ten thousand dollar dog (he’s from a long line of show and we breed) we take our breeding business seriously, and would not let our dogs whom are intact without proper supervision and care. I was very upset that my cameras did not record - we paid for the last 7 years monthly! For our cameras to protect ourselves and what we have and love. Not only because of this did this company jeopardize my business but my family and the safety of my animals that I love.

    Now, I have no prove of this! Why would anyone pay for a company to protect them that isn’t doing their job! Coming from a family who risk their lives to protect others and protect our country, it’s just flat out sad that this company couldn’t have bothered to do what they said, which is a breach of contract. To say I’m highly disappointed with this company would not begin to describe how angry I am.

    On a separate note, we had Vivint years ago at my mother’s house I was 8 months pregnant when my mother’s house was broken into it! The alarm went off and no police were dispatched! Thank god my German shepherd could open doors and I pregnant scrambled to a phone and called the police. I then asked the police and Vivint- should I have asked my attacker to stop, so I can respond to the security company saying yes I’m being attacked! Let me tell you when someone is trying to rape or kill you, you aren’t trying to call your stupid alarm company! So again, Vivint thank you for not caring about human life or animal life but instead caring about lining your pockets with dollar bills. I run a small business, and if I did business this way I’d have terrible reviews and be out of business and rightfully so. HUMAN LIVES MATTER AND SO DOES WHAT WE LOVE. - Please just start caring about your customers of nothing else.

    I called Vivint to get information and ended up getting their service and equipment. I was worried about the coverage of their camera since they recommended only one for the front and my home sits on a curved road making my home kinda of wide and curved as well. I was told not to worry that the technician installing the equipment could add any additional cameras needed if need be. When the technician arrived he noticed the issue and tried to add the camera to my account but gave a total that did not match the initial quote if I were to add the camera when I spoke to the sales rep. The technician then removed the camera and gave me different total than I was quoted for the equipment that was going to get installed originally. He finally got it sorted out and finished his work.

    I am very happy with what was installed and Vivint service as well. When I called later that week to add the camera that I wanted to add I was told I would now have to pay $100 for another technician to come by and install the new camera. I did get a discount for the installation after explaining my issue but I would recommend getting all the equipment you need before the technician comes to install to avoid headaches. Also would love to have one bill instead of two one for the monitoring and one for the finance.

    I’ve been calling and calling and No One is returning my calls. I had a service call last month. All of a sudden my bill jumped from $40 to $106. I asked how was this possible. The representative claimed I added a DVR to my account. I stated, I didn’t add anything. He’s literally arguing with me to the point I ask to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor is saying the same thing. I ask him to look at my account and explain to me when I supposedly ordered a DVR. He places me on hold and then states, “This is strange, there’s no DVR on your account.” Then he states he has to speak to someone in billing to clear the matter up.

    It’s now been over two weeks! No one has called me and my bill still shows $106. This is by far the worst security company I’ve Ever dealt with. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. I’m hoping to get out of this contract. They overcharge for the equipment, the APP is horrible and their customer service is beyond subpar! Update: Now I’m being told it’s a technician fee. However no one disclosed there was a fee to send someone out. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC and the BBB this morning.

During the account setup, the agent assured us that our existing sensors would be compatible, but the technician who arrived was unfamiliar with them and suggested we pay for additional sensors. He also didn’t bring all the equipment we had been charged for, arguing that since we received a discount, we technically hadn’t paid for it so it didn’t matter if he didn’t remove it from the work order. 'Nour' ** was the Vivint salesperson who went door-to-door, told us he would give us a better monthly security service rate than what we had, but failed to disclose a $1,799 starter kit fee and we never got an itemized equipment invoice or total until a $4,030 bill was received. We already had a $4k security system installed in our home, there was no reason for us to pay that again. Total con job. Nightmare to try and get it removed.     I sold my house and called Vivint to cancel my service. They kept trying to get me to transfer my service but I kept telling them we didn’t want to do that. After about 20 mins of me telling them over and over again that I wasn’t doing it they finally sent me a cancellation email. I assumed it was over & done. 3 months later I’m seeing they continued to auto draft my checking account. When I called back, the same thing happened, they kept trying to get us to transfer our service. I told them we had a cancellation email and it should have been cancelled. After about 20 mins of arguing with them for continuing to take my money out of my account, I just hung up and called my bank to stop them from ever taking more money out of my account. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!!

    I have been reluctantly with Vivint for 2 years now. The doorbell goes off numerous times. Now after 2 years I am told they can no longer troubleshoot my system since the equipment probably needs to be replaced because it’s 5 years old. My home was built two years ago so that means they put old equipment in my home. My options? 1 - pay to have a tech come out and then charge me for new equipment 2 - “upgrade” and pay monthly for a protection plan and I can upgrade my equipment- which may be new or not. 3 - pay a disconnect fee since my equipment doesn’t work. This is a scam.

    The technicians worked diligently to set up all components and get it in working order. There were a couple of hiccups or miscommunications but to be fair, it was 10:30 last night when AJ left and our brains were basically squish. The technician today had to leave and come back because some things were forgotten but that was ok because it wasn’t that big of a deal. The technician arrived around 9:30 this morning and finished around 6 this evening. He even had his boss come and check on us to make sure we were satisfied with the job.
