From my first call to the actual installation, I was completely satisfied and impressed with my service. The equipment is great - we got the keypad door lock, doorbell camera, and garage opener. We have a walkout basement so I was uncomfortable with the fact that there are doors and windows that I cannot hear. Now I am notified when anything opens! From the kind service to the awesome equipment, I could not recommend Vivint more!!

Rick the tech was amazing. He came out after my aunt was having issues with her wall unit, he took extra time to assist her in resolving the issue.

I have been a satisfied Vivint customer since 2009 and have renewed contracts every two years. When Vivint called me on January 8, 2016, to renew my contract, I agreed as long as my very old Honeywell panel was replaced. They said that they were overdue in replacing it, and that staff would be in the greater Boston area in the spring to replace it. On February 15, my Honeywell system broke. When I called Vivint, they tried to troubleshoot, but said that it was beyond their capability. They offered to guide me to go through the box of wires and connections to see if it could be fixed; I declined that offer. They then said that they would be able to replace the unit on March 11.
I am a senior citizen who lives in Jamaica Plain, MA, a section of Boston that has a high crime/break-in rate. I have an alarm because my condo is on the first floor of a triple decker and my home has already been broken into, and I was robbed. Since Vivint could not replace the Honeywell before March 11, I said that they could nullify my contract and I would simply find another local provider. They declined. They offered to expedite the installation of my new unit, and promised to call me in the next 24-48 hours. They never called. Obviously, Vivint is more concerned with profit than with my security and safety. I find such a stance to be reprehensible. I will never renew another contract with them, and can only pray that my home is not vandalized while they are counting their money.

When I first moved into my home, a Guardian system was already in place. It was so complicated and confusing that I never took advantage of having it in my home and never used it. I heard about Vivint from a friend and I'm so glad I did. This is the most user friendly system I've seen. I've recently had to call customer service because I was receiving alerts that my system was not communicating correctly. The technician came out at no charge and had my system up and running in 30-45 minutes. Turned out to be a simple fix and I'm back in business. Great system!

From the salesperson, technician and customer service I was blown away on the quick and awesome service. I was looking to install an alarm in my office, spoke w/ Aaron ** in the morning and by 1pm I had it fully installed!! Stood by until finished, helped me load app and gave me a tutorial on how to use it. Feel really secure and in control in my office. Love that I can see cameras on my smartphone.

What I like about Vivint is that I can monitor it from my phone. The rep we dealt with was pleasant and upfront and I didn't feel pressured into it. The installer was also very nice and professional, and he walked me through everything. I had some issues the next day and both the salesman and the installer came out the following day and took care of those issues for me. I'm satisfied with the product, and when I get my next house I'll see if they're available again.

If you are considering buying Vivint, I beg you not to sign a contract with this company. They have terrible customer service, their equipment has problems, and frequently lie to their customers. This is my experience with Vivint, read it and decide for yourself if you want to risk doing business with them. I have 2 years left on my contract and I can't not wait to get a new alarm company that is honest.
This is my experience: My spouse and I were approached by a Vivint salesman at our home in Florida and given the sales pitch about Vivint. My wife and I are both law enforcement officers that frequently travel across the country for business. We were interested in Vivint and the products the company offered, especially remote access and remote camera viewing so we could check on our home from the "road". We were hesitant to sign a 5 year contract because we get transferred by our agency every 3 or so years and did not want to be locked into a particular company. The salesman promised "moving is easy! You leave all of your equipment here for the new home owners and we re-install all of our stuff in your new home for free! We do this because we hope the people that purchase your home will also stay with Vivint. Just call us when you get to your new home and we come install everything free of charge."
That sounded great to us! So we signed up for Vivint. We really enjoyed Vivint for over a year in our Florida home. It worked perfectly and we never had any problems. We were glad to have Vivint protecting our home and family. We recommended Vivint to any friend or family that would listen. Then we were transferred to Utah, and Vivint quickly proved to be a poor business decision.
We contacted Vivint to arrange for the install in our new home only to be told "sorry! That deal no longer stands. We change our company policy in December of 2014. You will have to pay $800 or so for a new install or you should have brought your equipment from Florida to Utah". We explained that was not what we were told when we purchased Vivint and the couple that had purchased our home wanted to just use Vivint and keep the equipment. Vivint customer service told us "tough: Pay the $800 for new equipment or get your old stuff back. We don't care, either way you have a contract and have to pay us regardless."
We contacted the people in Florida that purchased our home. After explaining the situation they decided they did not wish to do business with Vivint because of the way they treated my wife and I. (Vivint has now lost them as a customer). They mailed us all of the equipment to be installed in Utah. During this whole process Vivint was difficult the entire time, almost combative, and basically uncaring. They had their contract and really did not care if we had monitoring or not. Vivint continually wanted to charge additional fees to get our new home set up (again in contradiction to what we were told when we purchased).
Vivint has come to our house several times over the past few months. We still do not have working monitoring. We are paying every month for monitoring that we are not receiving. Our most recent technician came to our home and spent many hours attempting to get the system to work. He had to replace the Sky Panel because it had a fault (the same one Vivint gave us so much hassle about purchasing when we moved). The technician told us he would have to reschedule to get the system up and running and would call us back to reschedule.
Several weeks passed and we were never called back. My wife contacted Vivint to ask why our system was not working and to find out what was going on with the technician. Vivint told my wife "it's your internet not our products. Call back when you have your internet fixed". We called Comcast to check our internet, and were told our internet was in working order. Comcast sent a technician and he checked everything (we had never nor do we have issues with our internet).
I called Vivint back today to find out when the technician was coming and was told "oh sorry. Since you did not get him back within 60 days there is a $49 charge for him to come back." I explained that we have not had a working alarm system for over 6 months, that we did call to reschedule and were told to call Comcast, and "why should I have to pay because your technician failed to do his job right the first time?" After almost half an hour of additional discussion the company agreed to "waive the fee". I was sternly warned that it was my responsibility to ensure I was scheduled within the 60 days regardless of what the technician says (i.e. "I will call you back and reschedule") and that I would probably never have a fee waived again. This is in stark contrast to the no hassle, lifetime warranty, easy moving experience we were promised.
I beg you not to purchase from Vivint. They only care about their contract and fees. They do not care about your safety, their word, or if their product works. If you care about your family choose a different alarm company. My contract expires in 2018. I will be glad to end this terrible business arraignment. We have asked numerous times to speak with supervisors to try to resolve our issues only to be told "they are busy and don't have time". I have yet to speak with anyone above the front line staff. I had hoped to explain that all of the hassle is only causing me to want to leave your company. Why risk losing my business for the next 20 or 30 years over a hidden fee? If Vivint would allow me to leave my contract today I would gladly accept the offer. They are so terrible I am strongly considering paying the fee just to leave their company. Please please please do not make the same mistakes I made. Do not use Vivint.

We have the Vivint system in our home and recently purchased a vacation home and alarmed it as well. We feel the customer service and technicians are good. The system is user friendly and priced well. Would recommend the Vivint alarm system.

We purchased the package from Vivint that includes the doorbell camera, the medical alert, and the key to turn the alarm on and off with. During installation, the person that put in the doorbell camera couldn't make it work. I had to wait quite a while for someone to come out, and they really take time to find out what was wrong with the doorbell camera. And the tech finally made it work. If someone comes up on my front porch and they don't ring the doorbell, I can hear chimes to let me know that someone is there. If the wind blows or I turn the front light on, it chimes. It's all motion, and I like that.
But I had a lot of problem with that doorbell camera and right now, if someone rings the doorbell, I was supposed to be able to talk to that person from my phone and that doesn't seem to work. Someone from Vivint came out and replaced the doorbell, but just a little wire hanging out on the side of the doorbell, so I never called the person back. I got tired of dealing with a lot of problems.
But I'm satisfied with the service and the security system. I haven't done any testing yet to open up my door to let it go off. When I leave the house I have the door lock combination which turns the alarm on, and my husband's keys to the back door open in the basement. So one day, I left and turned the system on by hitting the buttons on the keypad, and I got a call stating that my alarm system was going off. I was wondering why was it going off with the backdoor open. I never figured that out. And the cost is more than what I was used to paying for. It's too much per month and I'm on a fixed income, but I still pay it and overall I have recommended them and will continue doing so.

We've got doorbell camera, garage door opener, fire alarm and a CO2 alarm. The Vivint sales representative spent quite a while with us, explaining the features and was very nice. The service is great. The technician came to install everything that day but the sales rep said that he wanted a light installed on the sign in the front. After they installed our control panel, it was hitting a cabinet door. It didn't before the technician left so, it wasn't his fault. They were supposed to come back and fix those things and we never heard anything from them. But those weren't a big deal to contact them again. One time, I set the alarm off because I came in the backdoor and I wasn't able to contact them. They were trying to talk to me through the control panel. They called on the phone and everything was fine. I like the doorbell camera. With Vivint, I feel like my home is protected.

I got a doorbell cam and the security system from Vivint. However, in the beginning of the year, my system stopped working and it took forever for somebody to come out. Vivint said that they didn't have enough techs so I was three weeks without my system. Why did it take so long to get my product fixed? And then for them to ask me to pay for it and keep my account current, why would I keep my account current with my alarm system not working? That just didn't make sense to me. Other than that, I haven't had any issues with Vivint. Anytime I needed them, they were there.

Vivint came knocking door-to-door and the representative was very knowledgeable. He laid it all out and we told him what we were looking for. An hour later, his installer guy was here doing it. He didn't really say too much, wasn't rude, and did what he needed to do and cleaned up after himself.

I'm a satisfied Vivint customer so far. I got their regular alarm service with video monitoring, thermostat and doorbell camera. The installation went well and the installers were quite knowledgeable. I had a couple of dealings with customer service and those went well too. I was calling up to request some extra signage for the house and they went over and above which was good.

I got one of Vivint's basic packages which has the Front doorbell and kitchen camera. The sales rep was very nice and the installers came, set the system up and did it all in one day. They showed me how to use the system and cleaned up before leaving. Then they came back another time and strengthened our signal which was nice. We were with ADT and they couldn't give us what we wanted. We sure have enjoyed Vivint's system. Everything was very nice and easy.

Vivint have great people. The salesman is a great kid and did a follow up. My wife decided we get three dimmers, doorbell camera, and a glass break. By the time we said we'll do it, somebody was there to install it in about an hour. Then we had an issue with the doorbell because it had gotten wet but the serviceman came out and replaced it so it was fine. He's a super nice guy. Also, if I lose power, my panel goes offline and that drives me nuts. But ultimately, I love the service and I’ve recommended them to several people.

Our initial installation service was done by a very friendly young man who seemed very well adapted to his job and was quick and efficient in his duties. After a month there was a problem with our system and another young man was sent out who fixed the problem and we oriented my wife and I on how to work our system as we were gone for a month after the initial installation and only used it for a couple of days. I would hire this young fellow anytime and any day for any job from sales to installation to management.

They tried to rip me off for 800 dollars claiming I verbally agreed to extend my 2 year contract to a four year contract. They laughed at me and made sport of me over the phone. They said they had me under a contract and if I didn't pay, they would see to it that my credit was ruined.

We thought about having a security system from Vivint due to the neighborhood having their signs out. We never even heard of them until the sales team went out. They showed us what they have, and I like the idea that everything is going technical instead of the old school alarms. The installers did a good job. All installations were clean and there are no holes in the walls. One thing that I enjoyed that they did was they cleaned up everything, even the little strips. It doesn't look like a shotty job.
We've had a couple of false alarms. We had one where I must have pressed the center numbers which set off a silent alarm. As soon as I did, the police showed up at my front door a couple of minutes after. So as far as Vivint and the police response, it was quick. I didn't even hear the police officer when he came up. It's cool if it was to ever be used for serious purposes. I appreciated the accidents that we had here like when my littlest one broke a glass and the sensor went off. Vivint has been professional and courteous, and I've appreciated it. The security system is good. We enjoy it and I've recommended them to some people.

On February 7, 2016 I notice that the screen panel on the security had gone dark. I called the service department and spoke with an Allyssa **, and my God was she detailed and professional. Got me setup with a tech by the name of Jason ** whom met his scheduled appointment on time and was the most professional tech that I have ever dealt with. He installed a new panel, reprogrammed it for me, installing all my previous infor/codes which were more than the average. I highly recommend this Security Company to all!! Great Job Vivint... Way to go Allyssa and Jason. You guys got me hooked.

Vivint's alarm system is good -- I have their doorbell camera, one indoor camera and sensors in all of the windows. However, I do get some glitches. I also had a horrible experience with them. They messed up in the beginning. There was a lot of miscommunication between the installers and the actual company. The installers showed up the first time and didn't have the camera. Then they showed up the second time and didn't have all the sensors. Because of the mishaps, Vivint promised me four and a half months free but they never honored it even when I called them. The sales reps send me from one person to another and then put me on hold. Then they said that they're gonna call me back but never did. Vivint needs to tighten up their communications skills with their service people and customer. Overall, their communication is the worst I've had. Their pricing for their outdoor cameras are also way too expensive.

My father had Vivint. At that time, they were having a special deal and were knocking on doors. He gave my name to the seller, and I bought the package which includes the camera for the doorbell, two cameras, door and window sensors, and the carbon monoxide detectors. I had two of the installation people went out here. Both guys were patient with explaining me through the process of the way everything worked, got me set up real good, and explained the app that they have on my phone.
I've been happy about the service because I use it mostly for my shop, which is in the back alley. I could see who's going in and what's going on. With the doorbell camera, I know who's going up to the door. I was always trapped in where I would get into different alarm system companies and they would never respond to my calls when I had technical problems. So far with Vivint, they have been on time and everybody's helping me out. I love the product and the teamwork.

I purchased a service package from Vivint which included a doorbell, backdoor and indoor cameras, window sensors and breakers. The sales rep I dealt with was knowledgeable and the installation team was efficient. But still, it wasn't the best experience because I had a referral fee coming and I had to fight to get that. My doorbell camera went out within three or four months, and it was six to eight weeks before they could come out and replace it, which was way too long. Other than that, the system is working and it's not going off when it shouldn't be.

The sales representative came once at our convenience, and was great and very thorough. The person who did the installation was great because originally we had booked with the sales representative to have a camera installed inside the house, and through speaking with the technician, he told us what we could have. He was patient and assessed our needs, which is why we adjusted our plan. He added a couple of things to make it a bit more suitable for our needs. He was knowledgeable and pleasant. It was a quick install, and he made the experience very nice.
The service has been great and I'm very satisfied. I like the fact that I can answer from anywhere, see who rings the doorbell, and if I want to let them in as well. I love the fact that I can also change my settings for my door. I can give a code to family members when I'm not home and I want them to come in. So, I can tell who it is and make sure that they can come in without having to be physically there to let them in. It's very nice that the system is interactive. I can use my cellphone to assess what's going on and put my alarm on if I forgot in the morning, or the fact that it arms itself every night at such and such time and I don't have to worry about it. These are cool features.
The couple of times that we had false alarms for different reasons, Vivint was quick to answer and prompt to verify everything. Every time somebody comes to the door, they ask about the system and I tell them it's Vivint. It's amazing, interactive, and totally worth it. I'm very happy with my service.

I called in Vivint because there were a few houses over here that had it. There were crimes going on around this area that I feel I needed something. The service package that I bought from them included a doorbell camera. The service and their sales rep so far, have been pretty good. The installers also have done a good job on installing everything and they even cleaned up.

I had a different security system in my home for seven years, which wasn't as updated as Vivint is, but it worked if I had an intruder in my house. Now when I got Vivint, I was not happy at the very first because I was sold the unit during the summer month. I had paid quite a bit extra for the cameras, the doorbell on the front door. Got all that done but things didn't work properly. The door lock on my front door almost fell off so Vivint came to fix it.
When the doorbell camera went out, they said that they would send their electrician here because the technicians are not certified to be able to go in to your electrical stuff. What had happened is, the doorbell thing had made it to where my doorbell transformer blew. Vivint said, "Oh, you have to wait until the certified technician comes to change that deal in there for you." Instead of doing that, I hired my own electrician and had him come here and he will do it. So I paid him to fix that problem, because if not, I had to wait for however long until they could get somebody that were certified to do it. I didn't really like that.
I had to get a new doorbell camera. I had a problem with the guy because he wanted to just use the doorbell that was previously in there instead of installing a new doorbell. He said something about soldering the wires back together. I said, "No! You need to put a new doorbell camera on it." Well, he told me that wasn't necessary. I got on the phone with him and told him that it was and I wanted it changed, so I had Ray come to get that done.
The next issue I had was because Vivint used my existing system's sensors when they installed the Vivint system, as they update this panel, sometimes they work with the older sensors and sometimes they do not. They had done the update and my sensors no longer work. When I called about it, they told me the sensors weren't working. They came out here and guess what, I have to pay for new sensors. $280 for the sensors to go on all my windows and doors. They were standing there telling me, "You really need the sensor on that." Well, I had a sensor before with my other system which was a lot cheaper than Vivint is. I paid it on a yearly basis for only $340. It did not have the smoke thing hooked up with it where if I had a fire, it would contact them immediately. However, if they went off, it was wired hard into my house and it would sound the alarm.
I had no idea I was gonna be spending $289 to get new sensors put on all my new windows because I wasn't told, "Hey, we're gonna hook up to your old system here, that at some point, it might update itself and these be no longer available." At that point, I was ready to have them pull the whole crap out. But if you do that, I would've had to call my other man to come and undo or fix whatever to put it back like it was. That's why I decided to go ahead and keep it. Now, if I had to do all of these all over again, would I have gone to the expense of doing it? Probably not with all the hassle I've had and I pay $70 a month for the service. Then I was also told that they would charge me for them coming out here and repairing things. I was like, "Really?! No!" So I've had a lot of problems along the way and a lot of the stuff wasn't explained in detail, but I like the system. I haven't had any problems in the last couple of months so I'm okay.

We've got a camera, doorbell sensor and door locks from Vivint. Their sales rep was professional and did a good job. The installation team came a couple of times because they didn't have all the parts but they were fast. The install guy didn't clean up very good and we had to clean up after him. But so far, the service has been good. There are times when they had issues and they come out and fix it right away. Anytime the alarms go off, we get calls instantly and we're happy with the response time. We've had other providers before but they never called.

My system was upgraded to wireless, and three windows in basement with sensors and one glass breaker. The technician Mr. Marcelo ** was very knowledgeable about his work, and also cleaned up behind himself. He explain to me how to use the Sky Control Panel and left a booklet for me to review. I would recommend Vivint to a friend.

A Vivint sales rep came late at night and told us about the packages, then we bought a service package from them which includes a doorbell and an inside camera. After we signed up, they had it installed within an hour and their installation team worked quickly and professionally. I got a doorbell camera, thermostat, monitors on all doors, motion detectors and two smoke detectors from Vivint. The sales rep was nice and explained everything to me. I didn't feel being pushed. He had a local technician in the area who hooked it up while we were doing the paperwork. The installer was great, quick and cleaned up after himself. He was concerned with doing a good job and making everything look nice. I was remodelling so instead of having him drill holes, I had plastic things on each side of the door so if it opens it breaks the connection. I enjoy the doorbell camera. If someone leaves a package or comes knocking at the door, I know who it is. Also, I like the smoke detector, the fact that if anything happens, it's not just an alarm going off, it is sent immediately to the fire company. I'm confident with their service.

I really had a good experience. I got locked out of my home. It was at night, a very cold one. When I called very angry and upset. When a guy name Logan answered. Listen to me run on and on. I had service with Vivint and my daughter has service with Vivint. She moved in with me and we did not need to service contracts at our new home. Vivint would not cancel one service, only put one on hold for three months. So we are required to have two services with this company when only one is needed. They are willing to combine the contracts and extend it for another year. And there was not a year left on one of the contracts. So basically they are saying "Sure we will help you as long as you extend your contract another year." Not helpful at all. I would not recommend this company at all.

We were in the process of looking for a security system and liked what Vivint had to offer. The sales representative was a bit persistent but very knowledgeable. I have the front door camera, garage overhead notification, three door sensors and two window breaks. The first guy that came installed everything with the exception of the window or alarm camera because we had a cat barbwire, didn't have a hard wire, and he was not aware that if all the wires get connected, there will be enough charge to do a regular hard wire tap. We had another guy come by and do that later on.
I like the panels. It's very modern and fitting to our home. We've had a few false alarms before where my wife opens up the garage and gets the alarm off and had people respond quickly and one time had the authorities here within five minutes, so that's good. Hopefully, there'll be more features in the future. I have recommended it to friends and I was supposed to get money or a different installation like a lock or camera as Vivint had mentioned, but I've never heard back from the company. Other than that, my experience has been excellent. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Vivint has been pretty good. The security package that my husband got includes a monitor, a key-chain, and a bell with the camera on it. He thought it was a good deal since he always wanted to have the camera there so he could see who was coming to the door, especially at nighttime. We had a couple of times when the camera went out. When the bell is rung, the camera goes on in my husband's phone, but it didn't. He then called and got it corrected, and it seems to be okay right now.

Vivint has been excellent in every way. I got the solar program first and it has been fantastic. Then I got the security program after with the doorbell camera in the front. I love every bit of it and the price was just right. It's perfect and I'd totally recommend it to a friend.

Installation took a few hours up until the night. The installers had a little mess on the ground but they cleaned it up. We control our Vivint system from our phones. We have the front door and indoor camera, and thermostat. For the most part and for the price monthly, it's a good system. I didn't like the fact that the front doorbell's lock started giving us trouble. I called for the technician to come back out and he told me it was going to be $50 to $60 for them to come out and repair it. I didn't think that was right for us to have to pay because we have it within a month almost and already have trouble with it. In most security places, it's for sure, they don't require that amount or any.

The sales representative was good, and the installation team was very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The installers walked through the system with me and showed me how to operate it. They also came back to make sure everything was going fine. But I constantly have problems with the equipment, and Vivint wants to charge me if they come out. I didn’t know that was in my contract but they said it’s in small writing that I’m responsible for it. Overall, the monitoring service seems to be fine. We installed it because of the camera. However I don't think the equipment is great.

Because we live out in Peckville, we have a motion detector and have all our doors and windows armed. We went with Vivint security package which my brother had service from. The sales representative helped us and was nice, as were the guys who installed the system. Installation happened fast and they cleaned up after they were done. It has been a really good experience with Vivint so far. The installation team was pretty quick, and the sales rep came by about a month after to see if everything was doing good. We were gone during the holidays, and a little fire started in our furnace room. The alarm company called the fire department. They were there within 15 minutes and basically saved our house from burning down. I'd definitely recommend Vivint to a few people.

A young gentleman was canvassing the neighborhood. I was not amenable to going ahead with a new service. I had ADT but I had problems with them and he came along and made Vivint's system sound so desirable I couldn't resist. He did everything he could to accommodate me and make me happy with the deal initially. He also made it quite certain that if I called him at any time he would return my call, which he did. The installation team was very good. They responded again immediately, went about their business in a professional way and returned when there were some adjustments to be made. I'm perfectly happy with the system.

The package we purchased from Vivint includes the camera for the doorbell, key list entry, Space Monkey, and smoke detector that calls the fire department. The sales representative was very nice and knowledgeable, and went over each of the features with us. I have a teenager at home so I like to be able to keep an eye on her. I also like the response time when something sets my alarm off and Vivint immediately calls my cellphone. That way, I know the cops aren't going out for no reason. I'm very happy and satisfied with the service. I used to have ADT and I hated them.

The package that I bought from Vivint included a doorbell that when somebody rings it I can see on that little screen thing that they gave me. It is cool since I’m by myself and I just can't let anybody in. I’ve also got the alarm system that goes off when it's activated when somebody opens the door and a bracelet so that if I fall down I can get help if I need it. So far, I’m very happy with their service. The people I've dealt with over the box had been very helpful. A couple of times, I hit the bracelet and it started yelling at me so I go to the box and there's a person that I can actually talk to and he said that I must have bumped the bracelet. Another time, when I called them up because I didn't know how to run the thing from my heat and air-conditioning, they walked me through it. The only thing I don’t like is when that alarm goes off, it is so loud I can scream. It's terrible but that gets my attention and I like that.

We've had our house broken into once before. A Vivint door-to-door sales rep came and told us everything that we could get with them, which we got the door locks, a motion sensor, sensors on all the windows, and the fire and the carbon monoxide alarms. Service has been good service so far. Vivint's been fast about responding to any type of breach or any alarm going off. Any issues we've had, they have been able to fix it right away.

We have the newest technology box on the wall, a doorbell, a glass break detector, smoke detectors, lamp lighting controls and all the door monitors from Vivint. We liked the sales representative but we're a bit disappointed in the end because we felt like it was a bait-and-switch type of sale. I wasn't interested at first but they continued to pursue us because they claimed that because we happened to be the president of our neighborhood association, they wanted our lawn to be a marketing site for their product, and that we were getting their security and automation solutions basically free. Well, that was all a hoax. It ended up being quite expensive. So although we liked the sales rep, we really did not like their sales tactics and it was disappointing.
The installation team seemed adequate but lacked customer service skills. They were more technical in nature and appeared to be fine in what they did. However, we would have liked a bit more warmth from him. In general, they seem to recognize what my needs and demands were and have been extraordinarily accommodating. It took a little bit of prodding on my part when we had a couple of issues and they were very careful at how they responded but came through when needed. Their equipment is very good however, they tend to be too expensive for the product that they offer, but basically they are able to do that under the guise of it being newer technology. I was initially concerned at the cost, but satisfied with follow through on issues.

I was a bit disappointed with the resolution of the last few phone calls, I think I waited from 3 to 4 weeks for the tech to stop by and without one of the security windows sensors. There were some type of no connectivity issue with the sensors that were shipped to me and I was frustrated because we (over the phone) could not come up with a solution and on the top of that as I mentioned, I was bypassing one of the sensors on my system. The Tech Alvaro, was great! He gained my trust in the company, his attention to detail and professionalism were unbeatable! He also recommended some features and devices/options to upgrade my system. I was delighted!

The service we get from Vivint has been good. Communication with the sales representative was all very positive. He explained the features and how best to set our house up because we have dogs, and it was excellent. The installer was very professional and fast, and answered all the questions that I had. Installation was very well done.
We’ve had a couple of false alarms and they’ve been answered right away. It's been easy to get things straightened out. The only thing that’s odd is that we had a false alarm last week, when the wind blew the door open because one of the doors doesn't seal sometimes, and my wife got a text saying that the police and fire were being notified. When I called the line to say it was a false alarm, I was on hold for 10 minutes before I got through so it was hard to cancel the police. They were able to cancel in time but it's funny that the only line you can go on is when you get put on hold when you're trying to talk to someone about an alarm condition.

What concerns me is that I have alarms on some windows and all doors, but recent burglaries in this neighborhood, even across the street from me, have burglars entering the house by cutting the screen and cutting the glass and entering that way. What good are alarms if they enter through cut glass.

We have the LED screen, doorbell with the camera, motion sensors and glass break sensors from Vivint. The first installation team put the doorbell camera on but they didn’t put it correctly so I had to have someone come back out and redo it. Other than that, I am satisfied with their service. I had to use them today when one of the sensors went off in my house and they called me right away.

I set up an install for Vivint service and agreed on a date for installation. They seemed to be a mix up for that date as Vivint did not show up for installation. After speaking with Vivint the next Monday, they straightened everything out and made sure I was satisfied with their explanation. My Vivint package includes an iPad-like monitoring system on the wall, a carbon monoxide detector, a smoke detector, a flood detector for the sump pump, three glass break that monitors the house, locks for all five doors which are all monitored, garage door with Vivint access, and a keypad on my front door to be able to get in and out. With all of these, we’re very satisfied. The Vivint sales rep I worked with was Aaron. If I had a small business, I would have Aaron come work for me. He’s a pretty positive guy and wasn’t too pushy. Moreover, the guy that came in here and did the installation was a pretty good guy too. Needless to say, it's an above-average experience with Vivint.

I bought a new house and since I didn't want to leave it unprotected, we had Vivint install alarms and a camera for us. Vivint’s system is working fine and I’m completely satisfied. It has smoke and monoxide sensors, first floor doors and windows and two motion sensors, and the whole thing is wireless. Their sales representative was very nice, well-informed and made a very good explanation. He was a good enough salesman to convince me to switch. One feature that made us switch from ADT was the wireless aspect. It’s been an excellent experience, both from the standpoint of learning what it involved and having it put in.

Just to clarify, this review is for Vivint in Provo, Utah. After more than 9 years of being a Vivint customer, I moved and contacted Vivint customer service that I wanted to disconnect my service which I had paid $39.99 for every month for 9 years. The new place where I was moving already had a security system so I did not need to transfer my account with Vivint.
Complaint #1: I was told that they require 30 days notice to cancel. I wasn't happy with this but agreed to it. Complaint #2: Since I was on automatic debit, I expected to be charged for one more month and that my service would be disconnected and the charges would be discontinued after that. I was surprised to see another charge for $39.99 on the second month after I cancelled. Complaint #3: When I contacted customer service I was told that they would credit my checking account. I waited a month and no credit was issued. Called them again, was told that it was not refundable because I cancelled before the end of contract. Not true- I had been out of my contract for several years and made no changes to equipment. They checked and said that they would send a check. Another month, no refund check. Today, I called them and told them to keep the money.
I was tired of chasing after $40.00 but that I would be writing a review. They were always nice, they were a good company for 9 years, but then wiped out my satisfaction with the company for a lousy $40.00. I would think twice before buying a security system from Vivint solely due to their lack of follow through. To me, they stole money that they were never entitled to.

My Vivint package included the keyless entry, the camera with the doorbell and the smoke and motion. The guy who sold the package to me was very professional and was really quick in getting it installed. All in all, Vivint is a great company. I love their product and I'm very pleased with their service so far. It's been a pleasant and a very quick experience, and I've recommended them as well.

I purchased a service package where I have the devices for the windows and doors, fire alarm, and breaking glass. The Vivint people explained anything I asked and worked diligently to get the system done even though it took us a little time. They did a good job. I've had it go off a couple of times and I called and told them, and they're okay with it. Everything seems to work all right. I have recommended Vivint to my daughter in a different town and she put a system in her house.

Our Vivint package includes a camera, doorbell, smoke detector, wireless monitor, two broken window detectors and door security. One of the things that we noticed after the service tech left was that one of the sensors was put on the wrong door. It was on the internal garage door and I wanted it on the external garage door. I had to get customer service to send somebody back out so we could swap that around. The installation team was fantastic. From the time that we signed the contract to about three hours, we were up and running with the whole new system. It was an outstanding experience. I was well pleased with the features that were offered and got with our system.

We have the newer, upgraded home panel from Vivint which includes door, window and glass break sensors. The sales representative explained everything to us and was very nice. The guy from installation was knowledgeable and in and out quickly. We have false alarms where we forget to punch the card and we open the back door and they've always been very quick to call and make sure everything was okay. It's been very good with Vivint. We have recommended them to some friends of ours.

I had to call one or two times for the bug issue that we had with the new doorbell camera and the installer had to come back one time due to that but it was resolved. I've got all the doors alarm, the smoke detector, two cameras and the glass breakage with my Vivint service package. The sales representative sat down with me and went over everything, how they worked, how things were recorded and how to troubleshoot if something happened. When the installers came, they asked where I wanted things, took it from there and told me the ideal spots for things. I'm very satisfied with them.

I am having a problem with the two cameras from Vivint. At first, when the doorbell is rung, the camera automatically show me who's there, but now it doesn't and I have to mash the button in order for the cameras to see who's there. Also, the back camera shows the figure of the person but you can’t see his/her face. But what I love about the system is if I go out and forget to put it on or off, it would go off, and they will call and check on me even though I rush to cancel it. Moreover, the ones who installed it were very friendly. I really like Vivint and have told some of my family about the company, but I don't say anything when it comes to the camera.

My Vivint service package has cameras, the doorbell, my alarm system and the sensors. The sales rep explained everything to me, how it works, and when they came to install, he was around selling more so he came too. The installer also showed me how to use the panel and explained everything else to me. It was great. At the beginning, my Wi-Fi wasn't working with the system but after a while it started working, so it's been good. I feel very secure when I go out now. I can check from my phone whatever is going on with my house because I got the camera, so it's very useful and I feel better with it.

We had a problem with the electronic lock on our front door caused by some renovation workers (not Vivint's fault) and the door lock failed on a Friday afternoon. Although the local rep couldn't find a field agent, Vivint escalated the problem through the system, pulled a lot of internal strings, and got the problem fixed for us as soon as was possible and much much sooner than they first thought possible. I am pleased that they made that extra effort to take care of things. I was a satisfied customer before but now I'm a very happy customer.

The sales reps were very courteous. The first one that came by didn't follow up, but the second one did and I ended up working with him. He had made a promise regarding if he could lower the bill with Vivint so I can go with them and that took some following up. I've got a security panel, a doorbell camera and the fire alarm that's tied into our smoke alarms from Vivint. I like the service a lot. Vivint had called me when I've had a couple of alarms go off when I'm cleaning my house or burnt something, and many people are intrigued by the doorbell camera when it rings on my phone.

I've had Vivint as the alarm system in my house for a few years. I've got alarms on my windows and the thing on the wall that talks to me which I like. The installers were very efficient in what they did and answered any question that I had. They didn't leave until they got everything done, so it was dark by the time they left. The manager also stayed until everything was working properly and then they walked me through all the things that I had, so they did a great job. And today, I was able to reach somebody there to get my alarm back in synced because I had to change a battery in one of my windows and somehow it got the system off and it wasn't working right, so I finally got somebody to get it rebooted back on, and now it's talking back to me. Anytime I call or anything, they give me the help that I need, but it hasn't been that often that I needed it.

I got the service package from Vivint that included the doorbell where I can see someone outside. Their sales rep was a very nice person and when I called him regarding an issue, he took care of it so that was a good experience. However, I had some issues with the doorbell because it rang when nobody's even out there. Every time I left the house, I got a call from Vivint telling me my front door was compromised. I don't know how they ever fixed that, but it hasn't done that in a while because I have never set it from the panel leaving the house anymore. They told me to start using the outside panel in the door or to use my key. Another thing is when I have someone ring the doorbell, I don't know how I'm supposed to look at them on the outside. But other than those, it's been good with Vivint and I'm a customer who's very happy feeling safe.

Three appointments to have a tech come to our house to fix the problem. The first appointment the tech never showed up and it were canceled, by Vivint, on the day of scheduled appointment. I wish we would have done more research before signing up with Vivint Security (search Vivint on BBB). Do not waste your time or money on this service. Their equipment is cheap and their customer service is horrible. If I could, I would rate Vivint Security with a big fat ZERO!

My daughter tried the security system and then enticed me to sign so I gladly did. The guy whom I first talked to and the installer were very nice and knew their jobs. So I'm very satisfied with Vivint. It's excellent. However right now the camera is off center and we can't see what's happening if we're away from home. In fact, we don’t get any pictures at all. There's no motion.

Our service package from Vivint includes an alarm that has some video, audio and an iSight. When their sales rep came to my door, he told me a whole bunch of things that weren't true, got my business and walked away. Their installation guy was also horrible. He installed the alarm then told me how he was in a big hurry and he had two other jobs he needed to get to. A lot of their technicians aren't very courteous too. Their service is really bad. You almost have to threaten them to get good service from them - it stinks. When something's going wrong they band-aid it but they don't take care of the problem. It's not a very good formula for customer service. However, they're coming around now and beginning to get better.

My husband was here when the Vivint technician came, and he was pleased. The technician was helpful and let us know that our camera wasn't the issue. We thought our doorbell camera was out but it was our doorbell. Back when we were getting the Vivint system, the sales representative was very friendly and courteous. We also were impressed by the man who installed our equipment. He was a wealth of knowledge, was not a novice, and we loved him. Vivint gets the job done and has great customer service. I got door sensors, motion detectors and a couple of cameras from Vivint. The sales representative was okay but was very pushy. The first installer was horrible. He insisted on installing the system at 9:00 o'clock at night, which was not a good time, but didn’t end up installing everything and some of the pieces were still laying here. He also put holes in my woodwork for the sensors and they weren't in the right place. I was pretty upset about that. They offered to fix it, but I'm afraid they'll make it worse than it is, so I took care of it myself.
The guys that came back to take care of some things has been great. And after the initial stuff was over, I haven't had any problems then. I've got a couple of issues that I need to talk to them about, but it's all basically on just my app, I can't get things to change like I wanted to. But that’s nothing to do with them. Overall I'm okay with Vivint and very pleased with the service.

The young man from Vivint that came door to door was very thorough and well-informed. He offered services that I did not have with my current provider at that time; in fact, he sold the system to five people in my block. The door camera's the big thing that I like. It was a little bit higher than what I was paying, but then I have the extra feature of the doorbell. I'm retired and it's nice for me when the door's shut to know who's at the door before I get up and answer it. The gentleman that did the installation seemed to have a little problem, and he had to come back and finish what he'd started cause he didn't have what he needed to complete it. My neighbor across the street had the same problem and she's had a lot of problems with hers, but they finally ironed it all out.
My experience has basically been pretty good, but recently I've not been able to get on my phone and see who's at the door because of the camera in the doorbell when I'm inside. I called Vivint about it and I had tried something they told me to try, and I just haven't had time to call back. But every time I've called they've been helpful, and the young lady that I talked to last tried to help me. I just wasn't able to accomplish what she instructed me to do. My email address has not changed in my phone and I'm technology challenged, so I couldn't figure it out. I'm gonna have to get a technician to come out and see what's going on, and I need somebody that knows more about it than I do to do that.

We have the doorbell feature and the monitoring system from Vivint. In the beginning, we were promised with the keypad on the door when they came. However, we didn’t get it right away so I had to call, and they finally came back out. Trying to get someone there seemed like they wanted us to sign up right away. Once we had to have the keypad installed, the gentleman who came was very helpful. I didn’t get the runaround and he went ahead and scheduled for them to come out the following day. Vivint has been pretty good and we’ve been enjoying the system so far.

I'm very pleased with the service package that I purchased from Vivint which included a doorbell camera, the smoke detector and glass break sensors. I would like to commend your Vivint technician Gary on his quality of workmanship and service shown during a recent appointment on 1/29/2016 to repair my front door electronic lock that I had recently installed and the installation of an outdoor camera. Gary took the time to educate me on the service and product I purchased and addressed my questions concerning the installation. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job which showed in his positive attitude and attention to detail during the repair and installation. I purchased Vivint's security system, the front door camera and the thermostat control. The installation team was very good. However, I'm only moderately satisfied with their services because some of their tools don't work very well. When something happens and I try to log in, the system is set so that I have to put in my username and password. And if I'm in a hurry or if I forget the password like I always do, my house could burn down before I can actually get connected to their system. It's not user-friendly in that sense and accessibility is not good. For that reason I would not recommend it to anyone else. I'd be happy if they can call me and fix it so it works better for me.

I live in Alberta, Canada and we had to sell our house and move. We can't bring our Vivint so I tried cancelling but apparently, I can't. I got to pay the buyout on it so it kind of sucks. The lady felt bad and wished she could do more for me.

We got the doorbell and the cameras on the inside from Vivint. Their sales representatives were pleasant, patient, good and professional. When the system was installed by their installation team, they didn't tell me anything. I had to call and find out how to put the alarm on and which one was for the window. I keep calling them every other week for problems - to get it downloaded, it updated, etc. But so far this month, I've not had a problem. I recommended them in the beginning to my sister-in-law but at this point, I would not.

I'm supposed to have three cameras at my house and they've only got two right now. So that's a bit of an issue. Their installation team didn't have all the equipment with them so not everything got hooked up. They keep making appointments and cancelling my appointments. They can't put in the rest of the services like they were supposed to do. I'm not very impressed with Vivint.

Everything’s been good so far with my Vivint system. The sales representative I dealt with was a nice gentleman. He told me what he had to sell, showed it and sold it to me. It was the same thing for the installation person. He came in and installed everything. I was making dinner and I gave him some. He was grateful for it. I had everything up and running the same day that the gentleman sold me the system.

We were with the company even before Vivint took over. Vivint is convenient and reliable. Our service package with them includes the doorbell camera with the sensors and the panel. The sales representatives we recently interacted with were nice. They happened to come by the house when we were thinking of getting an upgrade so we were able to do that with them. The installation team was thorough and explained everything I needed to know. They told me to call back for any questions. I did have some so they had to come back, but they were awesome.

I have the doorbell with the camera and the remote thermostat that I can play with on my cell phone. I also have motion detectors downstairs and up, and a fire alarm. The sales rep from Vivint was really nice and explained everything in detail. He told me what they were going to install. I got a great deal on it because they were installing a lot of them in the neighborhood. The installers were also nice and made me laugh. They're very respectful and they always had their boot covers on coming into the house. They explained everything too as they were installing it.

I was promised a 30-day free trial by the salesman, Kevin **. Instead, my debit card was charged for the monthly fee. Called 4 times, was promised a refund. Never rec'd a refund. Wrote a letter. In the last 6 months, 3 different collection agencies have been calling me. They say that I owe $2,000 plus dollars. I say that Vivint broke the contract by fraudulently charging my debit card. They have been reported to the Iowa Attorney General.

One of Vivint's salespeople wanted to park his truck in front of my house on the street, and he came to my door to tell me that and asked me if it was okay. We started talking and he ended up selling the system in my home. I had a preexisting, non-operable break-in system that covered all of my windows and my garage. And then I added the garage door opener from the pad and the front door camera. I didn't want anything fancy; I just wanted some safety because the house was already wired but the system that I had when I bought the home didn't work. I thought it was kind of a waste to leave all of that and not have it hooked up.
My biggest complaint about Vivint was the fact that when I started thinking about getting the extra door camera and the other extra features, I called and tried to contact the customer service but it was impossible. It was so frustrating. I called that same person back and told him, “I’m within my 72 hours, come take it out of my house.” And then their regional director called me back and quieted my fears by telling me, “Look. You have our phone numbers. If anything goes wrong, you call us.” Now I live in a daily fear that if anything goes wrong, I’m really not going to have anybody to call. As a matter of fact, if I would have an emergency, I would probably cheat press my pad like it was an emergency and then get a human on the phone. Because when I need help with my system, what I do is I pretend like I’m a brand new customer so that a human comes on to interact with me. Then I ask them the questions and they find the answers.
My biggest reluctance in going with Vivint is that there are plenty of companies that are owned locally here in the Lafayette Parish, Louisiana area. And the only reason I went with them was because I felt that they were a good company, they were 5-star rated, and they were a little bit cheaper than the other people in the area.

I and my husband purchased our system approximately six or seven years ago and have been very pleased. Four years ago, my husband passed away. Since that time someone tried to get into my lower level patio and I was never so relieved I had my security. I also have a panic button.

In 2014 my ailing grandmother was basically pushed into her deal with Vivint security. The salesman was going door to door in our neighborhood and came to our door, invited himself in our home and had begun to sign her up for their service practically without her consent. I actually told him we weren't interested to which he said, "This won't take long." and walked right in! She asked several questions all of which he lied to answer. He told her she'd be signing a month to month contract and could discontinue service at anytime, that might have been true but not without buying her way out of a five year contract (which he failed to mention)! On top of all that he told her that her credit was not good enough and tricked me (by claiming my signing was a show of good faith that my 70 year old grandma wouldn't rob them!) into signing the contract because I had better credit and was really just trying to help my grandmother gain peace of mind.
Recently my grandmother passed away and now I have been left to foot the bill. I am a single mother of three living in a house that I may not be living in much longer and just cannot afford to pay $1860 to be released from the contract. When I asked why they could not just come and take their equipment back and release me from the contract the account manager basically told me they would still send my account to collections unless I paid the $1860.
Now I am stuck paying $65 dollars a month so as not to have what little credit I have be ruined. I feel backed into a corner and was treated poorly by the account manager dealing with my case. Dealing with my grandmother's passing has been difficult enough and now I have to deal with these liars and crooks. I can't wait for this five year "month to month" contract to be over so I never have to deal with them again. I will tell everyone I know not to answer their door if they see a Vivint sales person standing on the other side.

I did have one problem with the installation because it messed up my door frame and I'm trying to get patched up. But I appreciate their great service and I'm getting my referral fees in another day since I referred a lot of people to them.

I got a ladder and removed the motion sensor cover and was surprised to find small ants living inside the detector. Took it apart and cleaned it up. Put it back together after sealing up the hole in the sheetrock where the ants were coming through. Hope this solves the problem. The technician said that was why the motion detector was going off for no reason.

My husband died two years ago right after somebody got killed in my alley...so I thought that having a home security system might be a good idea, with me being single and all -- it's a better idea than getting a gun. I had Monitronics before and my good friend has Vivint, and then the Vivint salesman moved into the house down the street and I think everybody on our block signed up. I now have almost the whole home automation type deal -- the camera on the door, Vivint Sky which I use to turn the alarm on and off from someplace else, control the heater and air conditioner, and I also got the glassbreak detector.
I love Vivint's technology, but I had a problem on New Year's day. We had a really bad storm affecting the power to the unit to the garage. The circuit breaker went off, then the battery started running down and kept beeping at me and not letting me get out of the house. I called Vivint to ask them how to turn off the beeping, because it was already 8:00 AM and it has been doing that since 2:00 AM. The guy on the phone told me what to do, but I asked them if they could come out and replace the batteries for me because I’m 70 years old and it is 10 feet from the floor to the box. They were willing to send somebody out to help me, but before they could, I was able to turn recharge them. But overall, I'm very pleased with Vivint. I feel very secure having this system.

I was warned by my father about door-to-door sales. They’re not always the greatest sale that one can get, and that’s what Vivint did. They pretty much tricked my wife and then my wife tricked me. I got the doorbell camera, automatic door locks, glass break detector, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detector. Once we got them in, we’ve had nothing but problems for the first couple of months. They don’t do any services. My screen was freezing up. They told me I had to turn my doorbell camera off when it was having a glitch and freezing up the alarm, and I had to call them. That happened for two months. They even gave me a $50 credit because it was so bad. And then the customer service girl told me the reason I'm having so much problems is because I only got four bars. She said, "You should have eight bars in your area.” So why would they sell me something that’s not efficient?
And then it ran out of warranty out of the 120 days. I complained to the lady down at the loyalty department. I told her my father is paying $11 a month with another provider for the same thing as I have while I’m paying Vivint $64.99. In my opinion they can charge people $64.99 for the first year but drop it down to $30 a month thereafter. $64.99 is a little high but $30 a month is a little bit more reasonable. She said $49.99 is the lowest she could go so I took it. Their services work but I think $49.99 is still too high and I still can’t afford it.
She said they can shut the service off for six months but it’ll be six months that I owe them to put on back to the contract. I told her that won't work. I also told her I was going through a hard time and asked if I can just pay $500 or $600 and get my alarm shut off. She told me I can’t do that. She was rude about me being on the contract. I signed a five-year contract and I’m stuck in it for another four years and four months still left. She told me if I break my contract, I have to pay the whole thing. Or I can not pay it and go to collections. She was just making me angrier. She said, “You can pay us $4,000 right now.” I told her “Well, if I have $4,000 I wouldn’t be calling you up saying you need to lower my bill.”
And then the other day I noticed when I close the door the metal plate isn’t on there and it doesn’t lock all the way. She said, "I’ll send somebody out there to fix your thing but I won’t charge you this time, but usually we charge $24 or $49." That's another fee for somebody to come out to my house to fix their equipment that I'm already paying. She said, "We can step you up another package and get you the thermostat and all this and upgrade you for $75 a month.” She was trying to keep on selling to me when I already told her that I can’t afford it.
Aside from the cost and the way the lady talked to me, Vivint is not doing any maintenance. They are monitoring the service but the equipment is actually doing it for them. They don’t come and replace the batteries -- I do all that. We’ve already went through eight AA batteries and we’ve only made it through eight months for the doors. So dissatisfied with Vivint.

I'm very happy with my service from Vivint. Their sales representative gave me a good deal on the start-up and pretty much everything has been good. I haven't had any problems. My experience with the technician was good as well. I love the convenience of being able to use my phone away from home and it would let people come in and out that need to do like clean my carpet and I don't have to be there. I also love the way that it does respond each and every time they start on to walk up in my driveway, it does let me know.

I heard about Vivint through a friend, and now we have their doorbell camera, the garage door thing where we can monitor the garage, and the smoke detector. All the stuff was included with the promotion they were having so we got it installed that day. Unfortunately they ran late during installation but overall, the service has been really good and I would definitely recommend Vivint.

Before I moved into my house, it already had sensors on the windows and doors but then I can't see out of my peep hole so I decided to get a doorbell camera from Vivint and also the little sensors. One of the sales reps was extremely nice and persuaded me to invest in the product and sent me a card in the mail afterwards. He went above and beyond his job. The installers were pleasant and moved the previous panel I had closer to the door and covered up the hole that was in the wall for me. When I had an issue with the panel, Vivint was very helpful and took me through each step in order to fix it. I am very satisfied with the service.

My roommate had the Vivint alarm system, and I also liked the service I had from them before so they continued the service. The installation team was professional and did the work quickly. They made sure that I understood what I was getting at. The garage opener for my house was replaced so the Vivint garage door opener/monitor doesn't work anymore. They came out and replaced it with the door lock at no cost for me, so that was nice.

We have the package from Vivint that includes the doorbell camera, the alarms on the doors, the broken glass alarm, the fire alarm, the camera down in the basement and the wall unit. Their sales reps and installation guys were very good and professional. When we had minor problems with the unit, we called Vivint up, they came very quickly and were pleasant. Their response time was very good - got a technician out very fast within a day and the problem was repaired without any trouble.

I’m turning my house into a smart house little by little so I went with a lot of the Z-Wave features from Vivint. The salesman that came to our house was a very nice guy and I enjoyed him. He was very prompt and got everything done quickly. The installers worked all day. Even though it was late at night, they didn’t seem disgruntled. It was a long drawn out process, probably midnight before they wrapped up, but they did a good job. So far, I definitely don’t have any complaints. Anytime I’ve needed any help, there's somebody very prompt to help. I felt like I wasn’t on hold a long time when I called in, and it’s been very helpful. I'd recommend Vivint.

The package I purchased from Vivint included flood sensor in the basement, sensors on the window, garage door, for the two doors that go into the house, and a smoke detector. Service has been very good. I had a problem with my panel and Vivint came and replaced it about a month ago. I have a very good experience.

The Vivint sales representative came across nice. He talked to me about different things and I felt a little interested so I listened to him. They were going around the neighborhood installing so the rest of the team showed up and installed the security system. The installation team seemed professional and polite and cleaned up after themselves. The service package I got included one door camera, the smoke alarm with a camera inside, and the panel. Most packages were outrageous so I just got the affordable one. So far, the system seems to be working and I haven’t had any problems at all. At night or when I leave, I turn it on and when I come home, I turn it off.

When Vivint was in our neighborhood, I had a sales rep come by and tell us about the different styles that they had and wrote down the prices. He asked me which one we would like and we started service from there. The installation guy told us which is which, how to work the touchscreen pad and who to contact if something went wrong. So far, the service has been excellent.

Initially, there was a mix up with my account with Vivint. I closed out my old account and I called them to give them information on my new account but for about two to three months I kept getting letters saying that I haven't made a payment for those months. However, I haven't gotten a letter in the last couple of months, so I'm assuming it worked itself out.
I have a doorbell camera and two motion cameras, one inside my house and one in my garage. The installation guy was great, really professional and did a good job. It was a weird situation 'because he came over on a Saturday and he was there until 10:00 on a Saturday night. Then when I had an issue with one part of the system, I called him back because he left the card the night he installed it and he was able to walk me through over the phone. I got his number programmed on my phone now, so if ever I need anything, I will call him. So far, I'm very satisfied with the service from Vivint and I've recommended them to my neighbor and a few of my friends.

The sales representative and I talked on the front porch for about 15 minutes, and then he came in. I showed him around the house and he basically stayed until the techs were finished doing all their installation – about 12:30 at night. So the entire transaction happened on the same day. The techs were great. They left the house cleaner than they came in. Though I wanted the panel on a wall on the dining room, but they said they couldn’t do that because there was no electrical there. I said, “How about the other wall on the dining room?” And they said, “Um, how about the wall in the living room.” So now it’s in an awkward location, but I have remote control so it’s okay.
So far, I’m mostly satisfied with their services. The only thing that bothers me, which I’ve called in to the tech support for a couple of times, is that the panel, my tablet and cellphone all ring the doorbell at different times. If the doorbell rings, I hear it on the panel first. Then, maybe two or three minutes later, it’ll ring on the cellphone. And then, maybe five to ten minutes later, it’ll ring on the tablet. So, that interaction with being able to talk to people at the front door doesn’t really work on the cellphone or the tablet. Sometimes it all happens at once, but a lot of times there’s a delay and that’s annoying. I think it’s resolvable but the last time I spoke with tech support, we were on the phone for 20 minutes and we still haven’t gotten it resolved. They wanted me to do a bunch of other things and I had to get on with a meeting at work.

The alarm on our front door doesn't work anymore, and we're also supposed to have a camera there. Then, the alarm on the back door alerts you after the thieves come in and close it. We don't have the system that would pull to show you when someone's at the door. Vivint lied, and they never came back. They ordered those things but nobody in the main office ever followed up. Their service is not good. However, the team who came to do the installation were like a family. I cannot say anything bad about them. They were wonderful. But I can't recommend Vivint to anybody. I need them to improve their service or we're going to take it down in another week or two, and bring in another alarm company.

I really like the Vivint security system but I have one big problem. When I first committed to getting the security system, one of the main reasons why I agreed was so that we could have the doorbell camera. But for whatever reason I can’t explain, they could not get the doorbell camera to work on my system. When the system was first put in, the guys did try to get the camera working and then after not being able to have the doorbell camera, I mentioned it to several people but nobody ever really followed up on it, contacted me, or to even say maybe we could try something else or get it in. I had to go and take the system without the doorbell camera and still pay the same price.

I'm not happy with my experience with Vivint. I haven't had it that long and I'm always calling because I keep having problems with the doorbell camera. I had company come over Sunday. They said, "We're ringing the doorbell, but nobody's answering!" so they had to call me on the cellphone. The service people and the sales rep have exceptional service but as for Vivint, I wouldn't recommend it.

There was a gentleman going around the neighborhood, and he sat down and talked to us about Vivint. We upgraded the system from what we originally had and everything has been good. The installation team was very thorough and very clean after installation making sure there wasn't any debris. They were very good, professional, courteous, and even checked to make sure everything was working well. They were fast and efficient. We're very satisfied with the service and highly recommend Vivint.

My Vivint service package includes the doorbell and motion detector for the garage. It's been good. However, I had to have somebody come out the other day to remove the doorbell because I put it in the wrong spot. I couldn't even have a storm door. And that cost me money. The people that installed it said it wouldn't interfere but they didn't know what they were doing because when the guy came out here to remove the doorbell, he found out that the fire alarm wasn't hooked up right and wouldn't work. We've been paying for 10 months and it was neither hooked up or working. The doorbell feature is definitely helpful though as it lets me see who's knocking at my door. I don't know if the price will be up later but I feel a lot from my money out of Vivint. I'm satisfied.

The tech, Ted I think, was truly a subject matter expert. He had the problem figured out and fixed in almost no time. He took the time to explain the problem and use of the system. He was not rushing but did not stay longer than he need which was good. He was even bothered by my dogs. Great guy. Vivint would be blessed if all the techs were as good as this guy.

We are very satisfied with Vivint. I wish we had known about it longer than that. When their sales representative first came, they were polite and knew what they were doing. Everything went well. It was the same with their installation team. My husband and I were talking about putting cameras around the house, for a little bit more security. Overall, it's a great experience. I have cameras inside and out that were included in my service package, and I'm very satisfied with their service. When my alarm sounds, the guys from Vivint are on it. With the other company that I had for six months, I had never received a call and didn't even know that my alarm wasn't working. However, I'm dissatisfied with their salesman because he promised me $100 if I would switch with Vivint - I never received my $100. He also told me that he was going to give me a month or two or another $100 if I would get my neighbor to sign up with Vivint - which I did, but he didn't. But the installation was good except the one on the window is broken. Overall, I had an excellent experience with them.

I am very impressed with the level of service that was received from Vivint through my online correspondence through Consumer Affairs. They were prompt to address my initial complaint and was able to get all issues resolved. Although I do wish that this service was received from the beginning through my original calls to the customer service line, I appreciate that in the end, Vivint took the time to look into the situation and work towards a resolution. Hopefully going forward, Vivint will be a little more transparent and up front with disclosing any fees associated with service calls.

Our keypad to our front door stopped working, so we called Vivint to have a tech come out and look at it. The rep on the phone offered an appointment that was 13 days out. We were a little shocked that 13 days out was the first time that they offered us, but oh well, it needed to get fixed. On our appointment date, the tech was late. He called us at the very end of our appointment window (literally with about 1 minute to spare), to let us know that he was running behind schedule. Eventually he showed up and replaced the door lock. We were a little annoyed, but it's ok. We understand that things happen, appointments run behind, no big deal. The door was fixed and that was the end of it... or so we thought.
About 2 weeks later, I check my bank statement and noticed that Vivint charged an extra $49, so I called to see why. I was informed by the phone representative that it was a service charge to have a tech come out and look at the lock. What??? Why didn't anyone mention the fee when we called to schedule the appointment? The representative's response was, "Oh, sorry, someone should have told you that." Are you kidding me??
I was over it, so I inquired about how much time was left on my contract. The representative had to transfer me to another department for that information. The new representative advised that I have a lengthy amount of time left and that in order to break the contract, I would have to pay out the remainder of what is left. After explaining to her why I was asking about the contract, she advised me that they do not charge a service fee if you schedule an appointment greater than 14 days out. That was when I learned that mine was 13 days out. Hold on.. so you're telling me that not only did Vivint NOT advise me that they would charge a fee to have a tech come out, they also scheduled my appointment 13 days out instead of 14? Wow Vivint... great customer service. Your company is awesome. Glad I'm stuck with you guys until July of 2018.

Started off a little disappointed with the communication between Vivint and I. Once the technician showed up and explained what needed to be done and did all he could with a great attitude. We talked to a representative that also did a good job and got me to a supervisor after doing all she could. The supervisor got on the phone very concerned and helpful with great customer service. So my hats off to these three people who I would love to hire them all to represent my company. So job well done.

Signed up less than 2 weeks ago, still missing equipment at my home. Disconnected 3 different times with customer service and had an installer cancel the appointment on me with no notice. Doorbell camera not operating at all, still no resolution, and was also told I'm on the wrong monthly plan and that I would receive a call back and that was 3 days ago and still waiting. This overall experience has been horrible. Sorry I just didn't go with ADT.

The product is great and service is too, as long as you want to stay with them. I had the service for several years. I called to cancel because I am moving to assisted living. It was very difficult to accomplish. I was transferred to multiple people who kept offering me extensions or discounts. They questioned why I would want to leave my family unprotected, scare tactics? Then I had to submit a letter in writing and wait 30 days. They charged me for another month even though the system was only active for 7 days of that month. Then they wanted to charge me to remove the equipment they put in my walls because I was no longer a customer. The "customer care" representative was not at all helpful. It left a bad feeling about this company.

The sales representative at Vivint was cool and informed me fully on the system, what it was going to entail and the cost required. Also, their installation team came and explained stuff very, very well. The guy that installed the alarm system personally called and made sure that everything was cool. That was awesome. But I was surprised with the cleanliness during and after the installation. The stuff that was left over and all my other parts were strewn about my work bench. Nothing was organized at all. I was annoyed by that, but it wasn't that hard for me to clean up.
However, I'm having a problem with the trim on one of my windows, which is now falling down. It's hanging over my window and looks ridiculous. Another concern is that their sticky stuff that they stick on the back of the sensor is so off my sliding glass door and I can't get it to stay on there. So I haven't had my alarm set in 20 days. We were afraid that the sensor was going to fall off and I was going to get charged for a false alarm as it already happened once. I set the alarm the other night for the first time in three weeks. Because of these issues, it’s frustrating. Overall, the company is great and they're good people.

Very pleasant young man. Had no problems reinstalling my system. Answered all my questions in a very courteous manner. Felt very comfortable having him in my home. The only problem I encountered was when I was trying to make an appointment to have my system reinstalled. I was put on hold so many times, I truly got frustrated and I'm a very patient person!

We purchased Vivint's doorbell camera, carbon monoxide, fire and window detectors. When their sales representative came that day, in less than an hour they had already installed it. It's been good so far. However, I have noticed a delay when somebody rings the doorbell or sometimes we can't hear it. But other than that, it was an excellent experience. I've recommended them to my sister.

The features that came with my Vivint package were the doorbell camera, security, smoke alarm and outdoor camera. It was a little bit expensive though. The representative I dealt with was knowledgeable, but in retrospect, I think it was a very hard sell. The first installation team was not very good. But subsequently, the guys who came out to correct what the first guy didn’t do in the first place were very good.

My experiences with Vivint have been excellent. Their help response to rebooting and giving instructions on how to reset our main panel was quite good. The installation team was good and efficient as well. They didn't take long installing the sensors and setting everything up. We have recommended them to a friend.
