I've got all the doors alarm, the smoke detector, two cameras and the glass breakage with my Vivint service package. The sales representative sat down with me and went over everything, how they worked, how things were recorded and how to troubleshoot if something happened. When the installers came, they asked where I wanted things, took it from there and told me the ideal spots for things. I'm very satisfied with them.

Our package includes the doorbell camera, the device that monitors the heat, etc. It does what it's supposed to do and it’s easy to get set up. The sales rep answered the questions that we had.

The whole purchasing experience and installation went above and beyond my expectations. The system was easy to operate and puts my mind at ease. I have had an alarm system at my house for over 20 years but it doesn't measure up to the technology that is offered by Vivint.

I am having a problem with the two cameras from Vivint. At first, when the doorbell is rung, the camera automatically show me who's there, but now it doesn't and I have to mash the button in order for the cameras to see who's there. Also, the back camera shows the figure of the person but you can’t see his/her face. But what I love about the system is if I go out and forget to put it on or off, it would go off, and they will call and check on me even though I rush to cancel it. Moreover, the ones who installed it were very friendly. I really like Vivint and have told some of my family about the company, but I don't say anything when it comes to the camera.

My Vivint service package has cameras, the doorbell, my alarm system and the sensors. The sales rep explained everything to me, how it works, and when they came to install, he was around selling more so he came too. The installer also showed me how to use the panel and explained everything else to me. It was great. At the beginning, my Wi-Fi wasn't working with the system but after a while it started working, so it's been good. I feel very secure when I go out now. I can check from my phone whatever is going on with my house because I got the camera, so it's very useful and I feel better with it.

Vivint has a good system and it's doing what I want it to do. I think it's a little expensive and I had a few problems with it, but overall, I like it. The sales rep was very good because I purchased it. And he was really nice and had a lot of information. On the other hand, the person that installed it was on time, very courteous and explained thoroughly how to work it. I'm satisfied.

We had a problem with the electronic lock on our front door caused by some renovation workers (not Vivint's fault) and the door lock failed on a Friday afternoon. Although the local rep couldn't find a field agent, Vivint escalated the problem through the system, pulled a lot of internal strings, and got the problem fixed for us as soon as was possible and much much sooner than they first thought possible. I am pleased that they made that extra effort to take care of things. I was a satisfied customer before but now I'm a very happy customer.

The sales reps were very courteous. The first one that came by didn't follow up, but the second one did and I ended up working with him. He had made a promise regarding if he could lower the bill with Vivint so I can go with them and that took some following up. I've got a security panel, a doorbell camera and the fire alarm that's tied into our smoke alarms from Vivint. I like the service a lot. Vivint had called me when I've had a couple of alarms go off when I'm cleaning my house or burnt something, and many people are intrigued by the doorbell camera when it rings on my phone.

I've had Vivint as the alarm system in my house for a few years. I've got alarms on my windows and the thing on the wall that talks to me which I like. The installers were very efficient in what they did and answered any question that I had. They didn't leave until they got everything done, so it was dark by the time they left. The manager also stayed until everything was working properly and then they walked me through all the things that I had, so they did a great job. And today, I was able to reach somebody there to get my alarm back in synced because I had to change a battery in one of my windows and somehow it got the system off and it wasn't working right, so I finally got somebody to get it rebooted back on, and now it's talking back to me. Anytime I call or anything, they give me the help that I need, but it hasn't been that often that I needed it.

We have a Vivint service package that includes monitoring, some cameras and AC control. The sales reps were good and the installer was friendly and knowledgeable. He knew what he was doing and everything was working the way it's supposed to. We've had the alarms go off and Vivint has always been quick to come over the control pad to find out if we're okay and what's going on.

I got the service package from Vivint that included the doorbell where I can see someone outside. Their sales rep was a very nice person and when I called him regarding an issue, he took care of it so that was a good experience. However, I had some issues with the doorbell because it rang when nobody's even out there. Every time I left the house, I got a call from Vivint telling me my front door was compromised. I don't know how they ever fixed that, but it hasn't done that in a while because I have never set it from the panel leaving the house anymore. They told me to start using the outside panel in the door or to use my key. Another thing is when I have someone ring the doorbell, I don't know how I'm supposed to look at them on the outside. But other than those, it's been good with Vivint and I'm a customer who's very happy feeling safe.

Three appointments to have a tech come to our house to fix the problem. The first appointment the tech never showed up and it were canceled, by Vivint, on the day of scheduled appointment. I wish we would have done more research before signing up with Vivint Security (search Vivint on BBB). Do not waste your time or money on this service. Their equipment is cheap and their customer service is horrible. If I could, I would rate Vivint Security with a big fat ZERO!

My parents had Vivint Home Security. I got it too and the sales rep did a good job. The installation team was in and out pretty quickly. They explained everything and made sure it was working before they left.

The Vivint salesman was very professional, yet friendly and engaged. He knew the product he was selling and let us know what to expect from the upgrades. The workers that installed the upgrades were knowledgeable and friendly. They went through all the steps of showing us how things worked, and knew the answers to all the questions asked. Great experience. We have been with Vivint for over 4 years now and just upgraded our system. This company and their technicians are very professional and accommodating. Scheduling the service was a breeze. The sales rep made sure to give me all the information I needed to choose which program was best suited for my needs whilst saving me tons of money in the process. We have the two door locks, the doorbell, fire alarm, motion detector, the camera and some window alarms in our Vivint service package. Their sales rep was a real nice guy. The installers were good too. They came that same day, installed it quickly, and did a good job. It's been a great experience and everything works.

My daughter tried the security system and then enticed me to sign so I gladly did. The guy whom I first talked to and the installer were very nice and knew their jobs. So I'm very satisfied with Vivint. It's excellent. However right now the camera is off center and we can't see what's happening if we're away from home. In fact, we don’t get any pictures at all. There's no motion.

Our service package from Vivint includes an alarm that has some video, audio and an iSight. When their sales rep came to my door, he told me a whole bunch of things that weren't true, got my business and walked away. Their installation guy was also horrible. He installed the alarm then told me how he was in a big hurry and he had two other jobs he needed to get to. A lot of their technicians aren't very courteous too. Their service is really bad. You almost have to threaten them to get good service from them - it stinks. When something's going wrong they band-aid it but they don't take care of the problem. It's not a very good formula for customer service. However, they're coming around now and beginning to get better.

My husband was here when the Vivint technician came, and he was pleased. The technician was helpful and let us know that our camera wasn't the issue. We thought our doorbell camera was out but it was our doorbell. Back when we were getting the Vivint system, the sales representative was very friendly and courteous. We also were impressed by the man who installed our equipment. He was a wealth of knowledge, was not a novice, and we loved him. Vivint gets the job done and has great customer service. I kept triggering the alarm before and it was no problem for them if I have to call them for anything. Friendly service over the phone. We’re all about customer service.

I got door sensors, motion detectors and a couple of cameras from Vivint. The sales representative was okay but was very pushy. The first installer was horrible. He insisted on installing the system at 9:00 o'clock at night, which was not a good time, but didn’t end up installing everything and some of the pieces were still laying here. He also put holes in my woodwork for the sensors and they weren't in the right place. I was pretty upset about that. They offered to fix it, but I'm afraid they'll make it worse than it is, so I took care of it myself.
The guys that came back to take care of some things has been great. And after the initial stuff was over, I haven't had any problems then. I've got a couple of issues that I need to talk to them about, but it's all basically on just my app, I can't get things to change like I wanted to. But that’s nothing to do with them. Overall I'm okay with Vivint and very pleased with the service.

The young man from Vivint that came door to door was very thorough and well-informed. He offered services that I did not have with my current provider at that time; in fact, he sold the system to five people in my block. The door camera's the big thing that I like. It was a little bit higher than what I was paying, but then I have the extra feature of the doorbell. I'm retired and it's nice for me when the door's shut to know who's at the door before I get up and answer it. The gentleman that did the installation seemed to have a little problem, and he had to come back and finish what he'd started cause he didn't have what he needed to complete it. My neighbor across the street had the same problem and she's had a lot of problems with hers, but they finally ironed it all out.
My experience has basically been pretty good, but recently I've not been able to get on my phone and see who's at the door because of the camera in the doorbell when I'm inside. I called Vivint about it and I had tried something they told me to try, and I just haven't had time to call back. But every time I've called they've been helpful, and the young lady that I talked to last tried to help me. I just wasn't able to accomplish what she instructed me to do. My email address has not changed in my phone and I'm technology challenged, so I couldn't figure it out. I'm gonna have to get a technician to come out and see what's going on, and I need somebody that knows more about it than I do to do that.

We have the doorbell feature and the monitoring system from Vivint. In the beginning, we were promised with the keypad on the door when they came. However, we didn’t get it right away so I had to call, and they finally came back out. Trying to get someone there seemed like they wanted us to sign up right away. Once we had to have the keypad installed, the gentleman who came was very helpful. I didn’t get the runaround and he went ahead and scheduled for them to come out the following day. Vivint has been pretty good and we’ve been enjoying the system so far.

I'm very pleased with the service package that I purchased from Vivint which included a doorbell camera, the smoke detector and glass break sensors. I would like to commend your Vivint technician Gary on his quality of workmanship and service shown during a recent appointment on 1/29/2016 to repair my front door electronic lock that I had recently installed and the installation of an outdoor camera. Gary took the time to educate me on the service and product I purchased and addressed my questions concerning the installation. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job which showed in his positive attitude and attention to detail during the repair and installation. I am very pleased with his work and the care he took in helping to make my home safe and giving me peace of mind.

I purchased Vivint's security system, the front door camera and the thermostat control. The installation team was very good. However, I'm only moderately satisfied with their services because some of their tools don't work very well. When something happens and I try to log in, the system is set so that I have to put in my username and password. And if I'm in a hurry or if I forget the password like I always do, my house could burn down before I can actually get connected to their system. It's not user-friendly in that sense and accessibility is not good. For that reason I would not recommend it to anyone else. I'd be happy if they can call me and fix it so it works better for me.

I live in Alberta, Canada and we had to sell our house and move. We can't bring our Vivint so I tried cancelling but apparently, I can't. I got to pay the buyout on it so it kind of sucks. The lady felt bad and wished she could do more for me.

We got the doorbell and the cameras on the inside from Vivint. Their sales representatives were pleasant, patient, good and professional. When the system was installed by their installation team, they didn't tell me anything. I had to call and find out how to put the alarm on and which one was for the window. I keep calling them every other week for problems - to get it downloaded, it updated, etc. But so far this month, I've not had a problem. I recommended them in the beginning to my sister-in-law but at this point, I would not.

I'm supposed to have three cameras at my house and they've only got two right now. So that's a bit of an issue. Their installation team didn't have all the equipment with them so not everything got hooked up. They keep making appointments and cancelling my appointments. They can't put in the rest of the services like they were supposed to do. I'm not very impressed with Vivint.

Everything’s been good so far with my Vivint system. The sales representative I dealt with was a nice gentleman. He told me what he had to sell, showed it and sold it to me. It was the same thing for the installation person. He came in and installed everything. I was making dinner and I gave him some. He was grateful for it. I had everything up and running the same day that the gentleman sold me the system.

We were with the company even before Vivint took over. Vivint is convenient and reliable. Our service package with them includes the doorbell camera with the sensors and the panel. The sales representatives we recently interacted with were nice. They happened to come by the house when we were thinking of getting an upgrade so we were able to do that with them. The installation team was thorough and explained everything I needed to know. They told me to call back for any questions. I did have some so they had to come back, but they were awesome.

I have the doorbell with the camera and the remote thermostat that I can play with on my cell phone. I also have motion detectors downstairs and up, and a fire alarm. The sales rep from Vivint was really nice and explained everything in detail. He told me what they were going to install. I got a great deal on it because they were installing a lot of them in the neighborhood. The installers were also nice and made me laugh. They're very respectful and they always had their boot covers on coming into the house. They explained everything too as they were installing it.

I was promised a 30-day free trial by the salesman, Kevin **. Instead, my debit card was charged for the monthly fee. Called 4 times, was promised a refund. Never rec'd a refund. Wrote a letter. In the last 6 months, 3 different collection agencies have been calling me. They say that I owe $2,000 plus dollars. I say that Vivint broke the contract by fraudulently charging my debit card. They have been reported to the Iowa Attorney General.

One of Vivint's salespeople wanted to park his truck in front of my house on the street, and he came to my door to tell me that and asked me if it was okay. We started talking and he ended up selling the system in my home. I had a preexisting, non-operable break-in system that covered all of my windows and my garage. And then I added the garage door opener from the pad and the front door camera. I didn't want anything fancy; I just wanted some safety because the house was already wired but the system that I had when I bought the home didn't work. I thought it was kind of a waste to leave all of that and not have it hooked up.
My biggest complaint about Vivint was the fact that when I started thinking about getting the extra door camera and the other extra features, I called and tried to contact the customer service but it was impossible. It was so frustrating. I called that same person back and told him, “I’m within my 72 hours, come take it out of my house.” And then their regional director called me back and quieted my fears by telling me, “Look. You have our phone numbers. If anything goes wrong, you call us.” Now I live in a daily fear that if anything goes wrong, I’m really not going to have anybody to call. As a matter of fact, if I would have an emergency, I would probably cheat press my pad like it was an emergency and then get a human on the phone. Because when I need help with my system, what I do is I pretend like I’m a brand new customer so that a human comes on to interact with me. Then I ask them the questions and they find the answers.
My biggest reluctance in going with Vivint is that there are plenty of companies that are owned locally here in the Lafayette Parish, Louisiana area. And the only reason I went with them was because I felt that they were a good company, they were 5-star rated, and they were a little bit cheaper than the other people in the area.

In 2014 my ailing grandmother was basically pushed into her deal with Vivint security. The salesman was going door to door in our neighborhood and came to our door, invited himself in our home and had begun to sign her up for their service practically without her consent. I actually told him we weren't interested to which he said, "This won't take long." and walked right in! She asked several questions all of which he lied to answer. He told her she'd be signing a month to month contract and could discontinue service at anytime, that might have been true but not without buying her way out of a five year contract (which he failed to mention)! On top of all that he told her that her credit was not good enough and tricked me (by claiming my signing was a show of good faith that my 70 year old grandma wouldn't rob them!) into signing the contract because I had better credit and was really just trying to help my grandmother gain peace of mind.
Recently my grandmother passed away and now I have been left to foot the bill. I am a single mother of three living in a house that I may not be living in much longer and just cannot afford to pay $1860 to be released from the contract. When I asked why they could not just come and take their equipment back and release me from the contract the account manager basically told me they would still send my account to collections unless I paid the $1860.
Now I am stuck paying $65 dollars a month so as not to have what little credit I have be ruined. I feel backed into a corner and was treated poorly by the account manager dealing with my case. Dealing with my grandmother's passing has been difficult enough and now I have to deal with these liars and crooks. I can't wait for this five year "month to month" contract to be over so I never have to deal with them again. I will tell everyone I know not to answer their door if they see a Vivint sales person standing on the other side.

My service package from Vivint includes three cameras, a glass break sensor and a garage door roller. I did have one problem with the installation because it messed up my door frame and I'm trying to get patched up. But I appreciate their great service and I'm getting my referral fees in another day since I referred a lot of people to them.

I got a ladder and removed the motion sensor cover and was surprised to find small ants living inside the detector. Took it apart and cleaned it up. Put it back together after sealing up the hole in the sheetrock where the ants were coming through. Hope this solves the problem. The technician said that was why the motion detector was going off for no reason.

My husband died two years ago right after somebody got killed in my alley...so I thought that having a home security system might be a good idea, with me being single and all -- it's a better idea than getting a gun. I had Monitronics before and my good friend has Vivint, and then the Vivint salesman moved into the house down the street and I think everybody on our block signed up. I now have almost the whole home automation type deal -- the camera on the door, Vivint Sky which I use to turn the alarm on and off from someplace else, control the heater and air conditioner, and I also got the glassbreak detector.
I love Vivint's technology, but I had a problem on New Year's day. We had a really bad storm affecting the power to the unit to the garage. The circuit breaker went off, then the battery started running down and kept beeping at me and not letting me get out of the house. I called Vivint to ask them how to turn off the beeping, because it was already 8:00 AM and it has been doing that since 2:00 AM. The guy on the phone told me what to do, but I asked them if they could come out and replace the batteries for me because I’m 70 years old and it is 10 feet from the floor to the box. They were willing to send somebody out to help me, but before they could, I was able to turn recharge them. But overall, I'm very pleased with Vivint. I feel very secure having this system.

I was warned by my father about door-to-door sales. They’re not always the greatest sale that one can get, and that’s what Vivint did. They pretty much tricked my wife and then my wife tricked me. I got the doorbell camera, automatic door locks, glass break detector, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detector. Once we got them in, we’ve had nothing but problems for the first couple of months. They don’t do any services. My screen was freezing up. They told me I had to turn my doorbell camera off when it was having a glitch and freezing up the alarm, and I had to call them. That happened for two months. They even gave me a $50 credit because it was so bad. And then the customer service girl told me the reason I'm having so much problems is because I only got four bars. She said, "You should have eight bars in your area.” So why would they sell me something that’s not efficient?
And then it ran out of warranty out of the 120 days. I complained to the lady down at the loyalty department. I told her my father is paying $11 a month with another provider for the same thing as I have while I’m paying Vivint $64.99. In my opinion they can charge people $64.99 for the first year but drop it down to $30 a month thereafter. $64.99 is a little high but $30 a month is a little bit more reasonable. She said $49.99 is the lowest she could go so I took it. Their services work but I think $49.99 is still too high and I still can’t afford it.
She said they can shut the service off for six months but it’ll be six months that I owe them to put on back to the contract. I told her that won't work. I also told her I was going through a hard time and asked if I can just pay $500 or $600 and get my alarm shut off. She told me I can’t do that. She was rude about me being on the contract. I signed a five-year contract and I’m stuck in it for another four years and four months still left. She told me if I break my contract, I have to pay the whole thing. Or I can not pay it and go to collections. She was just making me angrier. She said, “You can pay us $4,000 right now.” I told her “Well, if I have $4,000 I wouldn’t be calling you up saying you need to lower my bill.”
And then the other day I noticed when I close the door the metal plate isn’t on there and it doesn’t lock all the way. She said, "I’ll send somebody out there to fix your thing but I won’t charge you this time, but usually we charge $24 or $49." That's another fee for somebody to come out to my house to fix their equipment that I'm already paying. She said, "We can step you up another package and get you the thermostat and all this and upgrade you for $75 a month.” She was trying to keep on selling to me when I already told her that I can’t afford it.
Aside from the cost and the way the lady talked to me, Vivint is not doing any maintenance. They are monitoring the service but the equipment is actually doing it for them. They don’t come and replace the batteries -- I do all that. We’ve already went through eight AA batteries and we’ve only made it through eight months for the doors. So dissatisfied with Vivint.

I'm very happy with my service from Vivint. Their sales representative gave me a good deal on the start-up and pretty much everything has been good. I haven't had any problems. My experience with the technician was good as well. I love the convenience of being able to use my phone away from home and it would let people come in and out that need to do like clean my carpet and I don't have to be there. I also love the way that it does respond each and every time they start on to walk up in my driveway, it does let me know.

I heard about Vivint through a friend, and now we have their doorbell camera, the garage door thing where we can monitor the garage, and the smoke detector. All the stuff was included with the promotion they were having so we got it installed that day. Unfortunately they ran late during installation but overall, the service has been really good and I would definitely recommend Vivint.

Before I moved into my house, it already had sensors on the windows and doors but then I can't see out of my peep hole so I decided to get a doorbell camera from Vivint and also the little sensors. One of the sales reps was extremely nice and persuaded me to invest in the product and sent me a card in the mail afterwards. He went above and beyond his job. The installers were pleasant and moved the previous panel I had closer to the door and covered up the hole that was in the wall for me. When I had an issue with the panel, Vivint was very helpful and took me through each step in order to fix it. I am very satisfied with the service.

My roommate had the Vivint alarm system, and I also liked the service I had from them before so they continued the service. The installation team was professional and did the work quickly. They made sure that I understood what I was getting at. The garage opener for my house was replaced so the Vivint garage door opener/monitor doesn't work anymore. They came out and replaced it with the door lock at no cost for me, so that was nice.

We have the package from Vivint that includes the doorbell camera, the alarms on the doors, the broken glass alarm, the fire alarm, the camera down in the basement and the wall unit. Their sales reps and installation guys were very good and professional. When we had minor problems with the unit, we called Vivint up, they came very quickly and were pleasant. Their response time was very good - got a technician out very fast within a day and the problem was repaired without any trouble.

I’m turning my house into a smart house little by little so I went with a lot of the Z-Wave features from Vivint. The salesman that came to our house was a very nice guy and I enjoyed him. He was very prompt and got everything done quickly. The installers worked all day. Even though it was late at night, they didn’t seem disgruntled. It was a long drawn out process, probably midnight before they wrapped up, but they did a good job. So far, I definitely don’t have any complaints. Anytime I’ve needed any help, there's somebody very prompt to help. I felt like I wasn’t on hold a long time when I called in, and it’s been very helpful. I'd recommend Vivint.

The package I purchased from Vivint included flood sensor in the basement, sensors on the window, garage door, for the two doors that go into the house, and a smoke detector. The Vivint sales representative came across nice. He talked to me about different things and I felt a little interested so I listened to him. They were going around the neighborhood installing so the rest of the team showed up and installed the security system. The installation team seemed professional and polite and cleaned up after themselves. The service package I got included one door camera, the smoke alarm with a camera inside, and the panel. Most packages were outrageous so I just got the affordable one. So far, the system seems to be working and I haven’t had any problems at all. At night or when I leave, I turn it on and when I come home, I turn it off.

When Vivint was in our neighborhood, I had a sales rep come by and tell us about the different styles that they had and wrote down the prices. He asked me which one we would like and we started service from there. The installation guy told us which is which, how to work the touchscreen pad and who to contact if something went wrong. So far, the service has been excellent.

Initially, there was a mix up with my account with Vivint. I closed out my old account and I called them to give them information on my new account but for about two to three months I kept getting letters saying that I haven't made a payment for those months. However, I haven't gotten a letter in the last couple of months, so I'm assuming it worked itself out.
I have a doorbell camera and two motion cameras, one inside my house and one in my garage. The installation guy was great, really professional and did a good job. It was a weird situation 'because he came over on a Saturday and he was there until 10:00 on a Saturday night. Then when I had an issue with one part of the system, I called him back because he left the card the night he installed it and he was able to walk me through over the phone. I got his number programmed on my phone now, so if ever I need anything, I will call him. So far, I'm very satisfied with the service from Vivint and I've recommended them to my neighbor and a few of my friends.

The sales representative and I talked on the front porch for about 15 minutes, and then he came in. I showed him around the house and he basically stayed until the techs were finished doing all their installation – about 12:30 at night. So the entire transaction happened on the same day. The techs were great. They left the house cleaner than they came in. Though I wanted the panel on a wall on the dining room, but they said they couldn’t do that because there was no electrical there. I said, “How about the other wall on the dining room?” And they said, “Um, how about the wall in the living room.” So now it’s in an awkward location, but I have remote control so it’s okay.
So far, I’m mostly satisfied with their services. The only thing that bothers me, which I’ve called in to the tech support for a couple of times, is that the panel, my tablet and cellphone all ring the doorbell at different times. If the doorbell rings, I hear it on the panel first. Then, maybe two or three minutes later, it’ll ring on the cellphone. And then, maybe five to ten minutes later, it’ll ring on the tablet. So, that interaction with being able to talk to people at the front door doesn’t really work on the cellphone or the tablet. Sometimes it all happens at once, but a lot of times there’s a delay and that’s annoying. I think it’s resolvable but the last time I spoke with tech support, we were on the phone for 20 minutes and we still haven’t gotten it resolved. They wanted me to do a bunch of other things and I had to get on with a meeting at work.

The alarm on our front door doesn't work anymore, and we're also supposed to have a camera there. Then, the alarm on the back door alerts you after the thieves come in and close it. We don't have the system that would pull to show you when someone's at the door. Vivint lied, and they never came back. They ordered those things but nobody in the main office ever followed up. Their service is not good. However, the team who came to do the installation were like a family. I cannot say anything bad about them. They were wonderful. But I can't recommend Vivint to anybody. I need them to improve their service or we're going to take it down in another week or two, and bring in another alarm company.

I really like the Vivint security system but I have one big problem. When I first committed to getting the security system, one of the main reasons why I agreed was so that we could have the doorbell camera. But for whatever reason I can’t explain, they could not get the doorbell camera to work on my system. When the system was first put in, the guys did try to get the camera working and then after not being able to have the doorbell camera, I mentioned it to several people but nobody ever really followed up on it, contacted me, or to even say maybe we could try something else or get it in. I had to go and take the system without the doorbell camera and still pay the same price.

I'm not happy with my experience with Vivint. I haven't had it that long and I'm always calling because I keep having problems with the doorbell camera. I had company come over Sunday. They said, "We're ringing the doorbell, but nobody's answering!" so they had to call me on the cellphone. The service people and the sales rep have exceptional service but as for Vivint, I wouldn't recommend it.

There was a gentleman going around the neighborhood, and he sat down and talked to us about Vivint. We upgraded the system from what we originally had and everything has been good. The installation team was very thorough and very clean after installation making sure there wasn't any debris. They were very good, professional, courteous, and even checked to make sure everything was working well. They were fast and efficient. We're very satisfied with the service and highly recommend Vivint.

My Vivint service package includes the doorbell and motion detector for the garage. It's been good. However, I had to have somebody come out the other day to remove the doorbell because I put it in the wrong spot. I couldn't even have a storm door. And that cost me money. The people that installed it said it wouldn't interfere but they didn't know what they were doing because when the guy came out here to remove the doorbell, he found out that the fire alarm wasn't hooked up right and wouldn't work. We've been paying for 10 months and it was neither hooked up or working. The doorbell feature is definitely helpful though as it lets me see who's knocking at my door. I don't know if the price will be up later but I feel a lot from my money out of Vivint. I'm satisfied.

The tech, Ted I think, was truly a subject matter expert. He had the problem figured out and fixed in almost no time. He took the time to explain the problem and use of the system. He was not rushing but did not stay longer than he need which was good. He was even bothered by my dogs. Great guy. Vivint would be blessed if all the techs were as good as this guy.

We are very satisfied with Vivint. I wish we had known about it longer than that. When their sales representative first came, they were polite and knew what they were doing. Everything went well. It was the same with their installation team. My husband and I were talking about putting cameras around the house, for a little bit more security. Overall, it's a great experience. I have cameras inside and out that were included in my service package, and I'm very satisfied with their service. When my alarm sounds, the guys from Vivint are on it. With the other company that I had for six months, I had never received a call and didn't even know that my alarm wasn't working. However, I'm dissatisfied with their salesman because he promised me $100 if I would switch with Vivint - I never received my $100. He also told me that he was going to give me a month or two or another $100 if I would get my neighbor to sign up with Vivint - which I did, but he didn't. But the installation was good except the one on the window is broken. Overall, I had an excellent experience with them.

I am very impressed with the level of service that was received from Vivint through my online correspondence through Consumer Affairs. They were prompt to address my initial complaint and was able to get all issues resolved. Although I do wish that this service was received from the beginning through my original calls to the customer service line, I appreciate that in the end, Vivint took the time to look into the situation and work towards a resolution. Hopefully going forward, Vivint will be a little more transparent and up front with disclosing any fees associated with service calls.

Our keypad to our front door stopped working, so we called Vivint to have a tech come out and look at it. The rep on the phone offered an appointment that was 13 days out. We were a little shocked that 13 days out was the first time that they offered us, but oh well, it needed to get fixed. On our appointment date, the tech was late. He called us at the very end of our appointment window (literally with about 1 minute to spare), to let us know that he was running behind schedule. Eventually he showed up and replaced the door lock. We were a little annoyed, but it's ok. We understand that things happen, appointments run behind, no big deal. The door was fixed and that was the end of it... or so we thought.
About 2 weeks later, I check my bank statement and noticed that Vivint charged an extra $49, so I called to see why. I was informed by the phone representative that it was a service charge to have a tech come out and look at the lock. What??? Why didn't anyone mention the fee when we called to schedule the appointment? The representative's response was, "Oh, sorry, someone should have told you that." Are you kidding me??
I was over it, so I inquired about how much time was left on my contract. The representative had to transfer me to another department for that information. The new representative advised that I have a lengthy amount of time left and that in order to break the contract, I would have to pay out the remainder of what is left. After explaining to her why I was asking about the contract, she advised me that they do not charge a service fee if you schedule an appointment greater than 14 days out. That was when I learned that mine was 13 days out. Hold on.. so you're telling me that not only did Vivint NOT advise me that they would charge a fee to have a tech come out, they also scheduled my appointment 13 days out instead of 14? Wow Vivint... great customer service. Your company is awesome. Glad I'm stuck with you guys until July of 2018.

Started off a little disappointed with the communication between Vivint and I. Once the technician showed up and explained what needed to be done and did all he could with a great attitude. We talked to a representative that also did a good job and got me to a supervisor after doing all she could. The supervisor got on the phone very concerned and helpful with great customer service. So my hats off to these three people who I would love to hire them all to represent my company. So job well done.

Signed up less than 2 weeks ago, still missing equipment at my home. Disconnected 3 different times with customer service and had an installer cancel the appointment on me with no notice. Doorbell camera not operating at all, still no resolution, and was also told I'm on the wrong monthly plan and that I would receive a call back and that was 3 days ago and still waiting. This overall experience has been horrible. Sorry I just didn't go with ADT.

The product is great and service is too, as long as you want to stay with them. I had the service for several years. I called to cancel because I am moving to assisted living. It was very difficult to accomplish. I was transferred to multiple people who kept offering me extensions or discounts. They questioned why I would want to leave my family unprotected, scare tactics? Then I had to submit a letter in writing and wait 30 days. They charged me for another month even though the system was only active for 7 days of that month. Then they wanted to charge me to remove the equipment they put in my walls because I was no longer a customer. The "customer care" representative was not at all helpful. It left a bad feeling about this company.

The sales representative at Vivint was cool and informed me fully on the system, what it was going to entail and the cost required. Also, their installation team came and explained stuff very, very well. The guy that installed the alarm system personally called and made sure that everything was cool. That was awesome. But I was surprised with the cleanliness during and after the installation. The stuff that was left over and all my other parts were strewn about my work bench. Nothing was organized at all. I was annoyed by that, but it wasn't that hard for me to clean up.
However, I'm having a problem with the trim on one of my windows, which is now falling down. It's hanging over my window and looks ridiculous. Another concern is that their sticky stuff that they stick on the back of the sensor is so off my sliding glass door and I can't get it to stay on there. So I haven't had my alarm set in 20 days. We were afraid that the sensor was going to fall off and I was going to get charged for a false alarm as it already happened once. I set the alarm the other night for the first time in three weeks. Because of these issues, it’s frustrating. Overall, the company is great and they're good people.

Very pleasant young man. Had no problems reinstalling my system. Answered all my questions in a very courteous manner. Felt very comfortable having him in my home. The only problem I encountered was when I was trying to make an appointment to have my system reinstalled. I was put on hold so many times, I truly got frustrated and I'm a very patient person!

We purchased Vivint's doorbell camera, carbon monoxide, fire and window detectors. When their sales representative came that day, in less than an hour they had already installed it. It's been good so far. However, I have noticed a delay when somebody rings the doorbell or sometimes we can't hear it. But other than that, it was an excellent experience. I've recommended them to my sister.

The features that came with my Vivint package were the doorbell camera, security, smoke alarm and outdoor camera. It was a little bit expensive though. The representative I dealt with was knowledgeable, but in retrospect, I think it was a very hard sell. The first installation team was not very good. But subsequently, the guys who came out to correct what the first guy didn’t do in the first place were very good.

My experiences with Vivint have been excellent. Their help response to rebooting and giving instructions on how to reset our main panel was quite good. The installation team was good and efficient as well. They didn't take long installing the sensors and setting everything up. We have recommended them to a friend.

We bought a service package from Vivint that included everything and it's been horrible. The camera was our whole reason for getting the package and it hasn't worked since I've bought it in May. It's been trouble since day one, and they have horrible customer service. Their technicians have been here a lot but they couldn't make it work. It would work and then it wouldn't. They said it's defective and I need a new one but Vivint doesn't have a replacement.
And then a few weeks ago, I heard my jeep alarm go off and I thought someone was messing with my vehicle. I went out and couldn't see anything. The next day the guy across the street came over and told me how his vehicle got broken into. So I looked into my cameras but they don't work. Now he's getting a system but I told him to not go with Vivint because obviously it's not the right thing to do. They said they'll reimburse me when they replace the camera. No replacement yet and in the meantime I still got to pay my monthly bill. They phone for money all the time. They have horrible customer service -- when you deal with their people, you deal with 10 different people. I paid my bill and then someone else is calling me to pay my bill and I have to tell them it's paid. I would never deal with Vivint again. They know I'm not happy.

Vivint makes my life easier and safer! I use their services for my home and business and could not be more pleased. They have THE best pricing and make the install process completely painless. Other companies charge outrageous fees for installation and equipment, Vivint doesn't charge a thing. Their technicians and sales representatives are always friendly, honest and accurate. The technician that installed my system was very courteous and made sure to explain how all of my equipment works. Their system allows me to control security at my home and office from my cell phone. I will never use any other security company!

I had a very pleasant experience with the Vivint representative who knocked on my door. Included in the package I availed from them is a main panel in the kitchen, a doorbell that takes pictures and videos when somebody comes to the front door, motion sensors for the backdoor, and a camera that I can place in the house so I could keep track of things like a pet sitter or a cleaning lady. Their installation team came as promised, put in whatever they needed to, and everything seems to be working the way they told me they would. However, through no fault of Vivint's, I tend to be lazy about using the system.
The system connects to my phone so it will alert me even when I'm not in the house. If I arm the house, it will alert me if anyone comes to the front door and if there is anything really suspicious, Vivint gets in touch with the police. I haven't had any real emergencies but If I did have to get in touch with them, for instances when I was a little confused or lost, they were very helpful, honest, and easy to get hold of.

So far, I’m fairly satisfied with Vivint. We had one of their representatives come knock on our door and the installation team came and took care of it all in one day. They went over everything with me. However, I still have some questions about some things I’m concerned about but I’ll just wait until something happens then I’ll call them because everything’s running fine right now. Our service package included the fire, theft, carbon dioxide, and video for the doorbell. We travel a lot and lots of times I forget to close my garage door so it was nice to know that I can check to make sure I’ve closed it whether we’re away or anywhere I want. In fact, I was in China and still able to check my house and that was cool.

We have a door and an inside camera included with our service package from Vivint. The only complaint I have is that the system is not compatible with AT&T U-verse modems, and we’re constantly losing our Wi-Fi signal. They gave me a fix, then I called AT&T and they’re supposed to open some ports on the modem, but they don’t want to do it so we continue to have problems with it. If I’d known it wasn’t compatible, I never would’ve taken it. Other than that, we’re satisfied with it and we’ve already recommended it to friends.

The sales rep was nice and very polite. He answered any question I had and seemed very good at what he was doing. The installer came out and went through everything. He never messed around. He was very nice, got his job done. However, I sometimes hit the wrong button and the system doesn't give me time to clear the code. There's no clear button where I can clear the code and start over before the alarm goes off so I'm sitting there trying to get the device to turn the alarm off while the alarms are screaming in my ear.

I looked for a year before deciding to get the Vivint Security system. This is the only security system that I saw that had a camera in the doorbell. Not only can you see who is at your front door but you can talk to the person who is there. It doesn't matter where you are, you can see the person and talk through your phone. Getting used to the security system has caused me to set it off a couple times, like opening the back door for the dog in the morning and forgetting that the alarm system is on. A real person not a recorded voice comes through your main box to check on you. The Vivint Security System just makes me feel safe, kind of like a cozy pair of slippers.

I heard about Vivint because my friends had it. I like it. The installation team were quick and efficient for the most part. I have the doorbell camera and an indoor camera, and both are really convenient. I also like that I can do the automatic lock from my phone. It's really nice.

We had a very pleasant experience with Vivint. We have the alarm system and the front door camera. We had to have Vivint come out and redo the glass door sensor because it came out, but aside from that, the service has been good. The sales representative was really nice and informative about a lot of things. The tech who came out the initial time and the time when we had to have the repair was really helpful. He gave us a different type of system and recommended a couple of other things on how to use our system a little bit better.

I called Vivint because there were a few recent break ins in my neighborhood, and I was trying to evaluate all the top security companies and get a system installed fairly quickly. Vivint has a very competitive installation package. Though I found out once the tech arrived the terms had not been completely explained by the sales rep. We sent the tech home and I called Vivint back to work it out. Two of their reps and the second tech who came out went above and beyond to rectify the situation and meet our expectations. So far we are very happy with the system they installed, and overall I was very happy with the service we received. They seem like a great company.

We've been satisfied with Vivint's services except we've been rethinking that maybe we don't need to have a home security system, and we're a bit dismayed to find out that we've got to keep it for five years before we can get out of the contract. Other than that, they all did a fine job.

We recently purchased Vivint Home Protection and we are very pleased with it. We can see what goes on anytime of night or day with our phones. It is an awesome thing to have. At night we arm our house and we feel very safe. We are connected to the police department and the fire department which is a great thing. We would recommend Vivint to everyone.

We love our Vivint security system. I like it because I can set it from my cellphone. It's one of our favorite things. When I leave to go somewhere, I can get in my car and just pull it up on my phone and set it. And then, when I get home, I can also disarm it on my phone. In addition, the installer who set it up was very quick and knowledgeable. He knew what he was doing and he tried to do it without making a big mess where he had to drill onto the wall to install the panel. Where he placed the sensors and everything else, they were not sticking out where everybody would see them. Compared to other security providers, Vivint seemed to be more technically advanced.

I've been with Vivint since June of last year, and I'm very satisfied with their services. The sales reps were very respectful and professional, while the technicians were pleasant and knowledgeable. They always had to do only one trip, and took care of my problems. I didn't like the fact that I had to wait long to get someone to come and fix my issues, but other than that, the service has been great and I feel very secure.

We purchased Vivint system, they came in and put alarms on the doors, overheads and smoke alarms. Now we've lost contact on our telephone system, so sometimes I have trouble with that. One day we forgot to turn off the garage door. When we came in, they greeted us on our little box telling us that there was an entry and asking who we were. It's doing what it's supposed to do and I appreciate that.

After they set up the system, the sales representative called us periodically to see if everything was going okay or if we're having any problems. There was a lot of follow-ups which we were really pleased with. The installation team were excellent. They were really professional, quick and knowledgeable. They had a few issues setting up the system but they stayed late and made sure that they had it done. Everything was working properly before they left, which was really good. It was a good experience and we're happy.

The representatives of Vivint are always very kind and trying to help. I don't have anything bad to say about the customer service at all. Unfortunately, except for the indoor camera, I had many problems. At the end, I had to replace it twice. So, I'm concerned because I feel like the equipment is not that reliable.

I researched all the Home Security systems out on the market. I currently have Comcast for Cable and Internet, so I figured I will try them out because having one bill and the monthly fees associated with the package that included a couple cameras was similar in price each month, roughly $60. Customer service was not that great with informing me of what I was going to get with the Plan. When the technician came out he said they make that mistake often with not informing clients with what they are getting, less than what was explained. Also, the equipment is sub-par. So I cancelled the job!! I had Vivint as my overall number one from original research so they were my next call.
The Salesman I spoke to was very easy to talk to, explained everything clearly and accurately. I scheduled an appointment with the Salesman, he worked around my schedule (very nice to get that, as we know others like Comcast give big windows and don't cater to your best availability). I got multiple follow-ups to remind and confirm the appointment, excellent. The Technician, Aaron, showed up right on time!! He was very personable, he actually was from out of state filling in for a technician out here in the SF Bay Area. That means a lot for a company to make sure areas even as far as state to state will be covered. I enjoyed talking with him, he is a very nice guy.
I was receiving a central station, doorbell camera, inside camera, 3 door sensors, and a glass break sensor. He explained everything thoroughly throughout the job and touched on everything again at the end. The equipment is definitely state of the art. Perfect sized touch screen central station, very easy to navigate (exactly the same setup as the app you download). The doorbell camera is amazing, it covers 180 degrees, great coverage. Cool feature is when the doorbell rings you get an alert on your phone for when you are outside the house. It allows you to get a live video of who is there and also allows you to talk to the guest. For instance, if UPS is there I can tell the driver to leave a package around the back.
You also get the live video monitoring on the central station if you are home. I have a custom home with all the wires built into the walls. I really like how Vivint runs the wires to the central station in the wall. Keeps a very clean look!! Everything is wireless!! All the sensors are very discreet. The tech, Aaron, got me on the phone with someone in the main office to confirm everything was set up and explained to satisfaction, which it was. I will refer Vivint to all my family members, friends and neighbors. Too bad they can't get Aaron, but by the look of how smoothly ran this company is I would bet everything all their Technicians are just as great!! Well done Vivint. I am very impressed!!

We are so happy with the ease of using the system. We can arm & unarm the alarm with one finger. I'm having a little trouble getting loaded onto my phone, I have been very busy with other things in my life right now. I'm sure when I get time I will get it just fine. So far we just love Vivint. I already had a security system, but I needed the protection from Vivint's medical alert because I've had a stroke and I live alone. The sales rep was outstanding. The installation team was very kind, respectful, knowledgeable, very helpful, and did what they needed to do. I had issues at my home during the first week that I had the system. A young man was ringing my doorbell and knocking on my windows, and we got a picture of him on the camera. The police came out and looked at it, and found out who it was. The young man came and apologized. I recommended Vivint to my daughter and she now also has it. I was so excited about the company so she signed up too.

While the Vivint security system looks like a great deal with cool features, BEWARE! Customer service is horrendous. They won't come to your home to help you out but they can't seem to answer questions by phone. We begged them to come and then they didn't show up and claimed they had no record of a service call in the system. The key fobs do not work. They don't care. The whole thing is a joke. Going back to ADT where they care if you are actually able to use their system and if you need help they are at your door in a blink of an eye.

We got Vivint's doorbell camera, thermostat and the doors and windows sensors. The initial representative was great but the equipment never worked properly like it should. They were out of stock with the camera and he said someone should call me when it comes in stock. I never got a call and it was almost 30 days. So, I called them and it took almost two weeks to get there with the camera. Had I not called, nobody would've called me about it. I then started getting notifications every two minutes so, they walked me through how to disconnect that and now, I don't get notifications on my phone. What's the point of me having the camera with no notification? I feel I'm paying for a service that is not even there. It was too much of a hassle to call customer service. I'm a disabled person so I can't stay on the phone for 40-50 minutes. It's too exhausting for me. I'm very dissatisfied and it was frustrating.

I've had Vivint for 11 months and I haven't had any issues. Everything is good. I got the doorbell camera, the link to the access panel inside the house with the viewing screen, and indoor camera with sensors for all doors and windows, the glass break sensor, and the Space Monkey digital drive. The features are pretty neat. The fact that I can monitor what's going on and adjust the temperature in the house using my phone from other locations is great.
The people have been very helpful and customer-oriented. The sales rep and the installation team both provided me their numbers so that they could provide anything to me and make sure my experience was good. The sales rep was very knowledgeable with the systems and worked towards what would benefit me as opposed to just whatever was the flavor of the day for what he was trying to sell. He did me a good service. I'm in the military and there was a discount that he was able to get for me for all of the features I added. Installation team was great. They took care of everything and explained it as well. They were fast, friendly, considerate and cleaned up after themselves. A lot of times these companies come in and leave a lot of waste once they're done, but Vivint had it all cleaned up.

Vivint got nice equipment. It's nice that the lady answers over the wall set rather than the phone ringing. I've only dealt with them one time. My little girl made some noise and it was so loud it set the alarm off for glass breakage. The lady called right away and I explained it. They’re very prompt, courteous and do what they say. Before using them, we had ADT. We had a guy here in Florence that worked through ADT. Their relationship must have went flooey because all of a sudden we got a letter from ADT that said we're not theirs anymore. The whole thing was a real pain in the neck. But the people with Vivint were real good. I'd recommend them.

We purchased the alarms, monitoring, fire alert and Carbon Monoxide monitoring from Vivint. Their sales representative came the next day after we bought it to make sure everything was good. The installers had to come back and install some equipment they did not have. One other time someone had to come and fix it and the people who have come to fix things have been especially nice. Our experience has been good and easy. However, it took them two weeks to come out when we called them when something was broken.

After moving from one house to another, we took our home security with us (Monitronics). We became dissatisfied due to a problem which continued to happen. The alarm keep going off. They said they would fix it but it was never fixed, so when Vivint came along and said they had a better security control, we said "Well we just renewed our contract with Monitronics." The salesperson said that Vivint would pay for one year of our service, since we just signed up for a three year contract and had two more years to go. So we took him at his word, we paid off the Monitronics contract which turned out to be $847.50. I contacted Joseph the sales manager three times. He said the check was on its way. You know the saying (THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL). 5 months has gone by and now he will not answer my calls.

A sales representative from Vivint came over and because the installation crew was in the neighborhood at that time, they installed the system within the day. There were a few little kinks in the beginning, but overall, the system works great. We can monitor our house remotely from our phone, iPad or computer. Their telephone customer support is very good, too. They've got two different departments and they've been able to resolve any problems that I've had.

I purchased the alarm system from Vivint which included the doorbell camera, fire alarm and carbon monoxide monitor. Their salesman and installer were good . I gave the installer a hand of where I want to put the stuff but he knew what he was doing. Another thing was we had trouble trying to set up the account. It was about four months before they actually took money out of my account because the lady took down the wrong account numbers. Other than that, it was okay.

We had a salesperson from Vivint going around the block and one of my neighbors referred me to him. Unfortunately, that day was a very busy one since it was graduation day. I was in a hurry and needed to leave so I didn't get the proper training on how to use my alarm system. He said he would be back later that day to sit down with me, but he never did. I wish they were be back in town and stop by. Right now, the only thing I'm using is the lock panel. My front door is nice and I just enter the code to go in. I love my system because of the convenience of unlocking and locking my door, but I dislike that I haven't really used it because I don't know how to work the alarm.

My husband likes the camera, doorbell and the apps on the phone from Vivint, so we chose them over another home security provider. The sales representative was really good and very friendly. The installation team came later that night and they were awesome. They cleaned up after themselves and explained everything thoroughly. The rep told us that if we referred somebody and they sign up, we'd get a $50 gift card which we did. Our friends signed up, but we haven't heard from him.

A friend who already had Vivint recommended one of their salesmen come by and see us. There had been some break-ins in the city at that time and so it looked like a good time to get it. The installation team did their job well. I have no complaints. We did set the locks in the hallway but that was a little too far from the doorbell camera so we had Vivint come back and remove the box from the hallway and put it up closer to the front door so the doorbell camera would work. That's been the only problem. I'm satisfied with their services so far. The doorbell rings no matter where I am. It's on my cellphone.

We really like Vivint. My sons also had it and we actually found out about it through them. My mother is elderly and lived alone so we got it for her and we decided we'd get ours too just because of the neighborhood we live in. Our town is very small, it doesn't have a lot of crime, but we live in a not-a-really-great neighborhood and full of rentals that people are coming in and out of. It's expensive but yet, it gives us the safeguard of knowing that it's okay. We turn it on every night when we go to bed and having the sign in our yard is enough for our community to not have people break into our house.
Moreover, the installation team were very friendly but if I had the most complaint about anything, it's that we didn't have enough time to sit and go over what kind of things we can do with our system, what came across our screen and why, and if we're out of town, how we turn it on or off from our phone, because it was late. It was probably about 10:30 at night when they got done. I didn't really get good training on it. We don't know how to use the system like we should.

We added the camera for the doorbell in our Vivint package as well as two cameras. Their sales representative was very good and professional. The installers came on time and everything was done fine. We used to have the thermostat but it is not compatible with our AC system because we have it under warranty so we had to put the old panel back. Right now, we only have the alarm, cameras and the doorbell camera. We're very satisfied.

When I signed up for Vivint I did not realize I was signing up for five years until after I had signed the paper and now I'm stuck. I should've been told that before I signed the paper. The guy was a hell of a salesman because he walked in here and I signed that paper, and it's something I never do.
When my doorbell rings, it takes about 20 minutes before it rings on my phone. I do see the outside and I know that I could talk to somebody if they were on my porch. The camera is so sensitive that if my flag flips in the yard, it says there's somebody on my doorstep and I'm not pleased. I had someone come out here before my time was up without me having to pay for the trip and they did their magic stuff. I have not called them back yet because if somebody comes out here, I'll have to pay for the trip. I have not called either to see if I can get anybody to help me over the phone.

The products are amazing. It does have some hiccups but they're fixable. The only problem is that it takes forever to get a technician out here to help you. You can't leave customers waiting for more than a month to get a problem fixed. I never got a discount or anything for the wait, my house was unarmed for a month.

We like the services from Vivint, and that we can go outside and our door locks automatically. But I don't like paying $35 for something that's supposed to be put in properly. Other than that, we don't mind it. In fact, I have recommended Vivint to a friend.

Have used three different systems since living here and I am more satisfied with VIVINT than any of the other systems. The price of monthly service is very reasonable and except having to replace a battery or two have had no other problems. When I have accidentally failed to turn off the alarm just to run outside quickly they called. Has been very nice and understanding.

My neighbor used Vivint. I was having problems and so I was wanting to get an alarm, so I asked him about his experience and got his information. The Vivint sales reps were all good. The only negative was at the beginning, they led me to believe that I was going to get more of the package than what I actually got. Installation was good. When the man found out that they promised me that they were going to give me a bigger package than what they will give, and because I was really scared from some of the stuff that had happened, he hooked up a whole more of my windows than he had to.
One time I was outside of the house and had driven off, and my dogs were locked inside the home. I realized I had tripped the alarm when I left and I didn't hear from Vivint. I figured that was because I had turned it back off that they realized that I had just tripped it. I have good experience and would recommend Vivint.

My service package from Vivint included the doorbell and in-house cameras and their normal door sensors. I’ve had a good experience with their sales representative. I like that he knew the job and what he was talking about. The installer was really good and seemed passionate about his job. He was trying to sell equipment and sold me the doorbell camera. Vivint's services has been really good.

The Vivint sales rep I spoke with was accommodating. I told him any conversation he had with me would probably be better suited if it was with me and my wife who would make the decision together and he came back at a time when he could sit down and talk to both of us about the system because we had been debating on wanting an alarm system. I remember being leery about anything from a door-to-door salesman but the rep was very professional, and gained our trust. The tech that came in was very good. We had a lot of weird problems as I’m kind of techie and I had all kinds of crazy technology stuff going in there that interfered with the installation. He was super helpful and helped me work with other problems. We really like our system and I would definitely recommend Vivint.

I had quite a bit of problem with the installation team but everything got fixed and so far I like the service. My only problem is the app and being able to delete videos. You can only delete one at a time. It’s kind of stupid how it works. I pull up the video feed and hit “List all the saved videos” and then delete it. And then I got to end my session and then go back in to delete another one. If you delete more than one, it gives you an error message. I should be able to delete all that I want and then get out of the video portion of it.

I am completely unsatisfied with Vivint. The system works fine. The guy that came in and installed the system was awesome and helpful. He used to follow up with us every once in a while to see how we were doing. What's horrible with Vivint is their website, phone app and customer service. The phone app, sometimes, will give false alerts. For instance, it will tell that the garage or front door is open/unlocked but when I checked, it's completely closed/locked. It's very not trusted. I always have to double check everything.
When I go to their website it won’t let me log in. It said my email address isn't verified but I've been on their website plenty of times to pay my bills monthly with them. Last month I made a payment and tried to set up auto pay. Before I submit it, it says, “Do you want to make this an auto pay with this credit card?” I selected yes. But it didn’t do anything. It logged me out saying there is still something that I have to set up. I tried to log back in and, again it said that my email isn't set up. This month I get a notification saying my bill wasn’t paid last month, so they didn’t even process my credit card. Now I owe them for two months and I tried to log in again but it tells me the same, that my email is not verified. I get so frustrated. I've already talked to them and told them I would never recommend their service. I'm stuck in a three-year contract with them unfortunately that I can’t get out off, so I have to deal with it.

We have a very positive and overall a pretty good experience with Vivint. The house we bought had a pre-existing system and Vivint was able to come and tie-in. When I talked to the installer about the need for glass breaks, the way he pitched the product made sense. So we had that included in the service package we purchased, along with the door sensors, motion sensors, their security panel, and a couple of cameras because we have small kids.
Both the sales staff that I dealt with and the installer were exceptionally patient in dealing with a pretty tough schedule. At the time, we were trying to move out of one house and into the house we’re in now and we had a real tight time schedule. They were really good about making sure we would be home and working with our time frame. Also, they had a back order on one of the products we wanted and were very good about telling us.
The app that they use, though, is somewhat herky-jerky. It’s a little glitchy and sometimes it won’t pick up. Also, sometimes it doesn’t necessarily show that I’ve disarmed the system but when I walk inside the house, the system is disarmed. I suggest to Vivint that what would help the app experience from the user’s side is if they alerted us such that if we got more than five miles from home, per se, and the security system wasn’t on, a little reminder should pop-up on our phone saying so and then it would give us an option to arm. I think that’s user-friendliness and I feel that if they would do a redesign or a recent update on the app, they would find that more users would appreciate those features.
We had one time where our housekeeper set off the system and the response time they had was exceptional. They had me and my wife called in under a minute. Someone at their home office was able to converse with me and my wife and our housekeeper all at the same time so Vivint could verify that it indeed was not an emergency situation and a false alarm. That kind of rapid response is always appreciated.

We like the platform of Vivint. We have teenage girls that can be home alone because both of us work and thought it was a good time to get a security system so when they come home they can arm it and we'd feel a lot safer between the time they get home and the time we get home from work. We got the doorbell camera. Also, we have the interior camera that looks at the front door inside. Rep was great. She explained and showed us everything. We didn't have any complaints other than they sold us the doorbell camera and they turned out to be out of those and we didn't get them for a couple of months. I contacted them and complained about that and they credited us a little bit off of the price to make up for it. They made it right and it was all good.
The installation team did a good job but some of the installers were little sloppy on the front and back door. The sensor wasn't completely flushed so it wouldn't let our doors close. We called a tech to come back out and fix that and he did. That was a little bit annoying, but not anything terminal. Also, we were having issues with the front door lock and they wanted to charge us 50 bucks to come back out and look at it. I was disappointed about that because we're not past the one year mark and I thought that if it's not functioning it would be under some type of coverage.

I was looking for a good, reputable but affordable home security company and I found it with Vivint. The 800 experience was great and the installation even better. Our tech took time to review our needs and made suggestions based on them rather than increasing sales. He also was especially patient explaining everything to my not so computer literate husband.

A friend of mine recommended Vivint because he was happy with the service. Now I have Vivint in my home, too, and I’m very happy with them as well. A couple of times, I forgot to return my alarm, and they were very quick and helpful. The young guy who came to install the system explained everything. He was very good too. The price that I pay for my security system is very fair. I never had any problems for the last seven months I’ve been using it. The cameras and the applications on my iPhone work very well, and I’ve no issues at all with the company. I recommended them to my friends and they already got the system too.

I am pretty happy with Vivint so far. I don't have any complaints with it right now. I had a previous home security provider but it was hooked into our landline. You have to worry about your landline. So I like Vivint being wireless. And I like that I have a camera where I can see who’s at the door and I also the idea of the lock on the front door that I got with it. The installation team went through it pretty good. I have no problems with it.
However I had is one time we had a bad thunderstorm and for some reason it set off the glass breakage on one of my windows. It had a glass break alarm over our bathroom window and it didn’t have any other sensors on it. For some reason this bad thunderstorm we had was enormous enough to set off that alarm, but I don’t know why. It does concern me that if I'm gone and we have a bad thunderstorm, it may set off the alarm and nobody will be home.

The first couple of months that I had Vivint, I recommended it to three friends and they all bought it. But now I'm dissatisfied with it and my experience has been painful. It was the basic security system that I purchased first. Then I purchased a doorbell camera, an indoor camera, and some glass break sensors. I had existing thermostats and I also added a deadbolt. The first month, I was able to use my deadbolt from my app at my panel. After that, it stopped working so I had a technician to come out. They called and said they were coming out. The day came but nobody showed up. Nobody called, too.
I didn’t respond back for a while then I set something else up again. They committed to the appointment and came back out. The technician said, “Well, I don’t have the tool that I need. So you’re going to have to reschedule another appointment.” I did that and that was in December. He said that something was interfering with the frequency of the z-wave which is the frequency the deadbolt runs off of and that there’s no way they could fix it. So I eliminated that from my contract but I was still getting billed for it. I called back a couple of days ago and set something up again. I had to talk to a different department, which was customer loyalty, but they were closed for the day. I talked to a supervisor and she said that she would call me back at 7 p.m. the next day so she could put me in touch with customer loyalty. No call.
I called the following day. I finally got a hold of somebody and was on the phone for an hour and a half. They said it’s settled and I got them to send me an email confirming that. They did but I’ll see when my next bill comes. At this point, the contract is null and void on their side if they don’t fix my issue. They can come out and get the equipment and I can be done with it. I don’t feel threatened at my house but when I’m not here, I want peace of mind. However, this is not fulfilling the needs for my family. It’s not worth the headache. I have a couple of nice-sized dogs that do a better job at security in the house anyway.
It was nice how they described the system and how it first worked. Everything was really neat but then it went all downhill from there. Customer service has been friendly but they don’t resolve much of anything. Sometimes my app will still lose the communication with my panel. There has been some times where it’ll say that it disarmed on my phone and I have walked in and it had set the alarm off. There are a lot of bugs and glitches in that system. They need to revamp it and really do a lot of research and development. They start trying to sell it just for the visual of it. They don’t really talk about the technical problems that they have.
