    I've had Vivint service for about 4 years now. It all started with a cold call. As it turned out, I had been in the market for a home security system. My work has me traveling frequently, so I thought it was time. The Vivint rep explained their service, and demoed their smartphone app. That was very impressive and convenient. I signed up, and was pleasantly surprised that the system was installed and up and running within 30 minutes of me signing the paperwork. Whenever I've had questions, the reps on the phone are always able to help. Thankfully, I've not had to call them, or worse, them call me very often. However, there have been a few times when the alarm has gone off because I didn't arm it correctly, and Vivint called me within seconds of its activation. It makes me feel secure knowing I have them watching my house.

    The sales rep from Vivint was eager to sell and to help us. He tried to give the explanation of the service and we like it. We got the cameras from them. My only complaint I had was that the guest shed at the first floor of my house had no coverage. I called the office and asked them to set up a sensor and they said they will check it out, but nobody came to help us. Other than that, the system works fine.

    Original installers were a 3rd party hired by the company to do the installation. The hook up was done incorrectly to begin with and we were not told the exact capabilities of the equipment which had to be within a ten foot area of the cameras in order to get good reception. Our home is made of cement block with plaster covered walls. The signal could not penetrate the cement construction. Customer service handled what they could do very well but we still have the issues... Company's fault, not the customer service employees. They did their job well. Also the company tech sent out to work on the problem was, at last, excellent.

    Sometimes, when I push the buttons of my Vivint system for the front door, it won't open even if I push them again. I have to jiggle the door until the button flashes red and then push the buttons again before it opens. But most of the time, the system is okay.

    I'm very pleased with the product that I have with Vivint. It's awesome and I let everybody know about it. When I'm at work and when somebody rings my doorbell, I can look right at my phone and see who that is. I like that and I feel very safe. But at first, I had about 10 service calls because I would keep getting alarms saying that it was battery low. That was a little frustrating, but now everything is working fine and I'm satisfied now. The sales representative who came to my house was very awesome and helpful. He took his time with me and I really appreciate that. The installers were very knowledgeable and helpful.     My boss had Vivint installed and I got it installed too. I got everything plus two extra cameras. I've had ADT before, but I wanted the camera features because I'm single and never home. Everything was good with the sales reps, but there was one major issue with the installation team. They unplugged the plug when the installer was plugging the system and never plugged it back in but everything got right so I just let it slide. Overall, it was good.

    The hardware is cheap (had several sensors replaced in the first two years, and I had to pay for the parts), batteries only last a few months, and it takes a long time to get thing done.     The Installer Id # ** was very professional and knowledgeable about the products. Through no fault of his own it took the tech 3 hours to complete the job. This was because of customer service giving me the wrong information. I feel this is a tactic Vivint uses to sell more products once the installer arrives. Although the sales representatives' supervisor approved the extra points of contact at no charge... I feel this could have been avoided if I would been informed before I made the decision to use Vivint as my security system.

    The sales rep was friendly but again misleading in the facts. I also ask about any specials regarding activation fees and was told there were not any at the time. I attempted to call back less than an hour after placing the order because there WAS a $99 off activation special found on the website which was not expiring until 13 hrs after the installation (I did receive the special only after placing yet another call during the install).

    I added the doorbell camera which quit working on day 4. I now have to take time out of my work schedule to have someone come out and I don't have a working doorbell. I was told I would have 2 weeks instead of the standard 3 days to change my mind. I want the 2 weeks as promised! Please feel free to call me regarding this order.

    A friend of mine told me about Vivint. I purchased from them the doorbell camera to know who's at the door and the garage door opener as it's convenient to have one. However the application for the control of the system is glitchy. I’ve been needing to call them because we’re now living in the house and seeing how the security features were installed, their locations need to be changed. I have never had that type of system before. The doorbell camera was installed in the corner of the wall and it doesn’t give a good view of the whole doorway. I can see who’s at the door through the panel, but the panel is right beside the door which is awkward. The panel needs to be moved in the living room.

    This week, I was discussing this issue with a friend who also has the system and my friend was telling me who to call and I might get to tell them to come back and move stuff around. The system only needs a little tweaking and - we also need a simple camera in the house which should be part of the package instead of having to pay extra for it. Apart from that, the system works well and does its job. I would recommend Vivint but those things need to be adjusted.

    We had just moved into our new home and not before long, a salesman from Vivint came by and walked me and wife through what services their company had available. As soon as we decided on the package we wanted which included monitoring, glass break sensors, cameras, thermostat and door lock, we had installers on site putting up the equipment. I like the fact that I didn't have to make a separate appointment for the installation. They had installers in the area that came out immediately even though it was 7:30, 8:00 o'clock at night and the two gentlemen who came by were very efficient and knowledgeable. I've had a couple of instances where the alarm was triggered and their control panel would not allow us to disarm the system - I had to call customer support to get them to turn it off and send an update to the system - but other than that, I've had an excellent experience with Vivint.

    I love my security system. I have a doorbell and living room camera, and several glass breaks. I live in a condo that has lots of windows. The installation team was great. They came out the same day I called them and every time I've called them for different reasons, they've always been very friendly. On the other hand, my welcome mat was stolen off my front deck a couple of months ago. So I looked on my doorbell camera because it's pointed right at my front door and I thought I might have some footage of the thief. It didn't record that happening for some reason. I had called Vivint and asked if there was a glitch or maybe it wasn't working properly. Not that I was going to solve any crime with that, but it was interesting that it wasn't recorded. That was the only thing that was a little concerning because I thought it was recording 24/7 whenever there was motion detected. But other than that, I've had no issues and their service has been great.

    It has been a good experience with Vivint, but at the same, it has been really bad. Good because every time that I have problems with the alarm or something goes wrong, their reps call me right away. But I’ve been having problems with the door lock and we already called. And last time, they were supposed to send someone to fix that but they never called back and never told us exactly when they’re going to be here to check it out. Another problem is the window sensors - sometimes they’re armed, sometimes not. Also, there's a problem with the garage sensor. Every single time that we’ve called, they always try to fix it over the phone, when it’s easier if they send the technician because he knows exactly what he needs to do. But before that, everything was perfect.

    Vivint is top notch security. We have a doorbell camera, glass break monitors and two smoke detectors. We also do the temperature through them. We also have older monitors from a different system which they transferred over as well. It was a little rocky in the beginning because Vivint didn't have a lot of service people out here, but ever since everything was corrected, it's really good now and we don't have a problem. The sales reps were great, too. Lastly, we caught people knocking on our window and doors late at night and they ran away. We took a picture and posted it up. So, we're very happy with Vivint.

    A young man from Vivint stopped by our house to give a demonstration. He was absolutely fantastic. We liked it, and we bought it. The man that installed it was excellent. He showed us everything, was polite, and neat as well. We have a key padlock on the basement door, a crash of a glass shutter in the kitchen where the big bay window is, and a doorbell camera that lets you talk without going to the door. When we go on vacation or some place, it rings, and I can look and answer through my phone. Although we had a problem where we couldn't lock the basement door on our cellphone, that got solved. The server is excellent, and I'm really satisfied.

    We tried talking neighbors into it. We also called our son who lives in Nebraska and talked him into getting one, and so we got a $50 credit. Vivint works good. In fact, it almost scared our daughter-in-law to death. She came over to our house and heard it go off. She had our password to the back door then, but she went in and didn't switch it off, so it set the alarm off and the police came.

    We have been a Vivint Customer for 5 years, loved it. To begin with we have a large home with 5 of their door locks, 12 window sensors, 4 fire/smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, indoor cameras, glass breakage detectors, in all around 31 sensors. We pay 66.00 per month, and up until about last year Vivint's response time and customer service was awesome... We thought we would upgrade to their latest outdoor cameras, doorbell camera and garage door opener. Well they sent out the first guy who stayed 10 hours, we had to ask him to leave at 8 pm due to the fact he could not get a single thing working, plus he knocked out our entire system. So after 10 hours we had nothing.

    I called them and customer service was cordial. I explained that they should not charge me the 466.00 they had planned to charge and if possible could someone please help us be able to lock and unlock our doors since their tech had left us with no system and unable to lock our doors! They were very nice and we did get the doors locked. I spent over an hour with them on the phone telling them that the Tech was a very nice man but had not been able to get anything to work. They rescheduled a more advanced tech to come out the next day. Well in the middle of the night 1:00 am to be exact, the system started chiming a doorbell (all night long).

    The new tech came out the next day... He spent 6 hours fixing what the first tech had failed on, plus all of the things I had discussed with customer service was ignored and they didn't bother letting the new tech know what he needed, so he did get the alarm to work but couldn't had the garage door or the outdoor cameras because he had no clue he needed to do so. He went thru 2 panels while there and attempt 6 hours. Had us up and running... Well until 3:00 am when this panel started flashing and hasn't stopped flashing for 2 days now. We are so exhausted from this experience that we are looking at other companies such as Frontpoint. We used to love Vivint but they changed... They were awesome but now, they are out of touch, and their customer service is just lacking. They are nice on the phone, but they don't listen, they don't care, and they can't get the equipment to work! I'm so so disappointed!

    Vivint reps knocked on my door and they've been very good. However come installation day, the installer put a nail through his thumb and went to the emergency room, so somebody else came back the next day and finished it. In addition, the panel went out after about a couple of months so I called them. They wanted to charge me a service call and I said how can they charge me a service call when it’s only been installed for three months. After a little bit of a hassle, we went back and forth and they finally came out and put a new panel in without charge.

    My representative gave me all my equipment for free including the space monkey (which I don't use). My Bill $69.99 a month until a few months in now I"m being charged for the space monkey use which was free. This is false advertisement & fraud as Vivint is taking additional money from my financial institute that isn't theirs. I text my representative. He says "yes the space monkey was a part of the free equipment" (this rep is really nice - this isn't about him). The equipment locks, don't lock and haven't locked appropriately from the beginning of service. The techs have been out twice to fix things. Now I'm to pay $49 for service on equipment that hasn't work from the start. The last tech even said the equipment isn't connecting with the door right and said it's the door. Now why would I have a service that isn't working with my door and it's not securing my home? Wow. Unbelievable.

    I recently had an Vivint sales associate stop by my home to sell me their home security system. It sounded like a good deal, as all the equipment ($1500 worth) was free so I let them in to assess my home. I ended up buying the system and installation was scheduled for same day at 6 pm. Installation technician didn't show up until 8 pm! He finally started installing the equipment and after taking my old system off the wall, advised me he would be unable to put the new system in its place and to "just put a picture over the giant holes in my wall."

    When I said I didn't want the system anymore his story changed and he was able to put the panel where the old one was but according to the technician the only place to plug the system in is in my garage, but the sockets only worked when the lights were switched on. I was not impressed and he said, "You could just keep the lights on all the time or unplug the lights (which required a ladder) when I wasn't using them." I again told him that I didn't want the system if that was the case and he worked another avenue.

    When he wasn't complete with installation by 10 pm I asked him to leave and to come back the next day. He didn't listen and left a little before 11 pm. When he returned the next day he finished the installation. I trusted him in my garage alone, which was as big of a mistake as going with Vivint. Shortly after he left, I went out to my 1978 Corvette to run errands and found a 2 foot scratch on the driver's side rear panel over to the bumper where it appears he drug his tool belt. I filed a police report and advised Vivint of what happened and they asked me what I wanted them to do about it.

    Lastly, I checked the mail today and received a notification that said I had to PAY the police department for my security system. I have no idea where the $60 a month that I am paying to Vivint is going when I have to pay the local police department $25 for them to respond. This is by far the worst experience I have had as a homeowner. Please if you are looking for a home security system, go with ADT. I had them at my last home and I did not have a single issue.

    Although we had a security system in our previous house, when we built a new home, we didn't get one thinking we might not need one and it cut back on our expenses. But then we had a break-in before we moved in this new house while we were sleeping at about 5:00 in the morning. We weren't aware that two young guys broke into our garage, into our two vehicles in the yard, and stole stuff. We've also heard of lots of break-ins, especially with seniors and then from another house up the street, and the people are bolder now. So we realized that we should get a security system.

    The sales guy was very good and explained everything well. He came back a couple of times when he was in the area to check things. The guy who installed the system made a little hole in the wall and missed the place where he wanted to put the hole. When the salesperson came back, he wasn't happy with it and he initiated a complaint. Vivint sent me money to cover the damage. So they took care of it to our satisfaction. The people who came were very friendly and nice to deal with.

    We got a doorbell camera at the front door and a camera that sits on the window ledge inside in one of our back rooms that covers the back area of the house. We have the Space Monkey and we also took an emergency medical alert device for older people so that if we're outside and fall, we just press the button.

    The service is good. We like the front door camera. We've had good luck with it because we've had people come to our door when we were away. We were down in Omaha and Nebraska last June and from the app on my phone, I heard a doorbell ring which was pretty neat. I checked the camera and saw there was man standing with a package in his hand. Then another time, the Bell Alliance people came and I was able to speak to them, and it was good. We find the front door camera to be an excellent feature. The camera at the back functions well in the daytime. But it's not showing me anything at nighttime, only lights reflecting back. So I want to get it checked and I've been meaning to call a technician to come and have a look at it. Maybe I'm supposed to press or hit a button at night for the nighttime feature.

    The Space Monkey doesn't seem to work. When I go online and hit the feature on my computer, there's nothing there, like it's not collecting the information it's supposed to be saving. Vivint told me it would save the information, documents, pictures, files, and everything from my computer. It's another reason why I should be getting someone in to check these things.

    Other than these, the system itself works. I especially like the fact that we can check the system remotely. We set it off when we're leaving. We don't set it up much when we're home unless it's only one of us here or if we're going to bed at night. For the most part, we find the system useful and a good thing to have. I'm very pleased with the service that I've received from Vivint and would recommend them.

    Everything's been really good and worked pretty much the way it's supposed to as far as service is concerned.     I got Vivint's service package that includes the doorbell cam, all windows and doors, and a camera on the mantle. I've got teenagers so I had these features. So far, the service is good. However, the batteries on the doorbell seem to run out without giving me ample warning. When my kids get off the bus, they can’t unlock the door without a key. I wish I got some type of message that says they’re running low. It’s working and all of a sudden it’s not working and the kids are calling me. Also, the keys on the outside that you push don’t light up. I wish there was light when you start pushing them when it’s dark outside so you could see them when you push them.

    The guy that came out and did the install was nice and got set me up. However, he said that they were out of the doorbell camera at the time and he’d get back with me shortly because it was a new product. I didn’t hear back from him so I called Vivint and they sent somebody else out to put that in. I think a whole month went by but I was paying for something that I didn’t have. Nevertheless, I’m satisfied with them. But the competition’s getting better now. I hope the prices would come down.

    I’ve had some issues with the system that have since been rectified, but it took a lot of phone calls and frustration on my part to get the things corrected. It left a real sour taste in my mouth. My system was down and remained down for over a month for no fault of mine and no reason whatsoever because they couldn’t get anyone here to fix it. It was right around the holidays and the time that you would need an alarm system when people are going to break into people’s houses so I wanted it fixed as soon as possible. I was told three days and I accepted that, but it wasn't three days. When I called to say I want it to get fixed, I escalated the call and it wasn’t resolved. I had to wait. They credited me because I demanded that I’m not going to pay for an entire month that I didn’t have service.

    I don’t know if it’s just staffing issue. It took no time at all to correct the problem, but it took a month to get a technician here. That’s not good business. But the people that I spoke to were friendly and helpful. I’m a fairly new customer and I’ve had the service less than a year so it hasn’t been that long and I haven’t had any issues up to that point. Also, there was one time when they charged me for something that wasn’t my fault, it was their technician's, but it was handled fine. My service up to the last incident was fine.

    The package I purchased from Vivint includes a doorbell camera, a second indoor camera, motion detectors, and a fire alarm. I also have the front, back, overhead garage doors, and my upstairs window monitored. I've been happy with all of them except for the doorbell camera. It's gone out three times, and a couple of times they came in and fixed it at no charge. However, the last time it went out, I was charged for the service and I don't think that was right as it hadn't even been a year that I've had the system. The reps have been fine, though, and the installation team was great too.

    My 85 year old mother wears her panic button around her neck faithfully. She fell in her tub and pressed the button for emergency help and received nothing. She lay in her tub for 4 hours until I stopped at her house. She could have died! I called Vivint and they would not tell me why Vivint doesn't send anything telling her that her button was not working.     If my previous comments don't make you think twice, consider the fact that the solar industry has dozens of large sales/installers of solar panels throughout the country. The lease of a system is based on an average cost of $25000. The sale is based on an average 20 year lease where the solar leasing company gets a 30% tax credit on that cost basis. As a former leasing executive I find the law surrounding the installations doubtful. The equipment is attached to real estate but considered personal property. Any time fixtures become attached to real estate they become part thereof and hence property rights flow to the mortgagor.

    Without obtaining a mortgagee waiver the property passes to the mortgage holder and passes from the lessor. The lessor (solar installer) has no legal right of replevin or rights to rental payments under law. At the very least the issue becomes vague and worthy of court review. Another reason to beware on top of the question as to the viability of the entire financial arrangement.

    A Vivint salesman came up to the front door and said he can give me a better system and use what I already had from another alarm system and cheaper. Since I had multiple alarms going off from the other company and they don't actually tell me why, I decided to get a service package from Vivint which included the doorbell, the monitoring on all my windows and doors. The sales representative was good. He was at my house at 7:00 o’clock. I said yes at about 8:00 and by 8:50 installers were there, and they got it all installed before 11:00 o’clock. I did have to call them back because they got a system that didn’t quite match with the other system, so they need to convert a box. I called at 9:00 in the morning and they were out there by 10:00.

    I like Vivint's features and that they have the thermostat, the doorbell, and the cameras. They also get so quick on everything, even with the service calls whenever I've had the alarm go off three times this month and every time they call the cell phone within two minutes. But I dislike the newer features and that the doorbell camera is not quite working. Overall, they're professional, caring, proactive and quick to respond.

    The other home security company that we had was raising their rates. We got a better deal with Vivint and we're happy with it. They take a picture when somebody rings the doorbell and my husband liked the idea of being able to use the camera to see who is at the door when we are in Hawaii or up on the mountains or somewhere else. The system works and does what it’s supposed to do other than the furnace glitch. My husband was going to call them again because the system is hooked up to our furnace so we could control the heat when we’re not home from my cell phone but we’ve had two instances where the furnace was just running.     Vivint's thermostat works really well and I like it. I also have the cameras and security system as part of my service package. However, I've been having a lot of problems with the front doorbell camera as it often gets disconnected from the server. The camera is poor, but they come out to fix it and get it back on in a timely fashion, but it keeps doing it. They need to install a new camera as I think the problem is the product they used for that. All the installers were great, but the first guy who came did not clean up all the drywall dust where they had to drill. I could tell that he was a contractor and wasn’t an in-house crew. Then a second guy came and fixed everything, and he was great. Vivint's staff have a quick response time and they try to help the best they can so I'm satisfied with everything, except with the camera.

    Vivint replaced two sensors from my old system including my garage door. I also got the doorbell camera, the wireless fire alarm, and the smoke alarm from them. They pretty much made the previous system that I already have better. I was always with ADT and it's a good company, but I wanted to try a different company. So I told Vivint to give me a few hours to think about what they were offering since it sounded too good to be true, so there has to be a catch. I was not under contract with ADT anymore, so I went with Vivint after I did some digging around. I was impressed with their service the very first day because I was messing with the sensors in my house and I was tampering with my sensors and I got a call, which was pretty good and it is something that ADT never did.

    The guys who came to install the system were professional, and I was there with them while they were doing everything. I was asking them a bunch of questions and they were pretty knowledgeable. Vivint's system is pretty good, I have a pretty good contract, and I like it. I don’t know what their technology is going to be in five years, but I'm pretty sure that what I have right now is going to be obsolete and I might continue with them still. Overall, Vivint is awesome.

    Our Vivint service package includes the camera and the thermostat, the glass breaks and the sensors on the garage doors and on all the windows downstairs. A lot of these features are what we have from our previous alarm system. But with Vivint, I love being able to access information on an app on my phone, and I like the camera on the doorbell. These are the two biggest selling points for me.

    I'm satisfied with their services, even though it's a little pricey. We have had some issues on our front doorbell with the connection being lost, so sometimes we have the camera and sometimes we don’t. They’ve been out to fix it once, but I'm going to have to call them again. I just wish the repair worked right the first time. But still, the people at Vivint have always been positive from the sales rep to the installation people and then the gentleman who came in for the initial repair. I have no problem with their customer service, but I wish the system would work right the first time. I have had a friendly, positive and efficient experience with Vivint.

    I'm not home all the time so I need the peace of mind to know that somebody’s looking after my home when I'm not there. I looked for different security systems and I narrowed it down between Vivint and two others. I got Vivint's whole bundle - a doorbell camera and another camera, a glass break, and door sensors. So far, it's been generally good. I've had a few hardware problems where they replaced the panel where it's been freezing. Other than that, I'm happy with Vivint. Even if I'm away, I can check and see what it looks like outside by looking at the camera. I'll know if someone rings my doorbell. They're very nice features.

    First, let me say that they only got a star because I could not post with zero stars which is what they deserve. Vivint is the worst company I have ever dealt with - If you are considering signing a contract with them - DON'T - You will regret it. We had a 42-month contract where we were completely bound to this company that offered little to NO customer service. Our system never worked properly and when they came out to fix it they wanted to charge us more than the $78.00 that we were already paying monthly. One incident we had was the "automatic" thermostat turned on the heat (middle of summer in Florida) and my three English Bulldogs were extremely overheated by the time we got home from work and found our house at 94 degrees.

    On another occasion we had a small fire and fortunately we were home but Vivint called and said that our system was showing a maintenance error. This does not reassure me that our house is being monitored when we are not home. When I cancelled the service in December 2015 in writing by mail and then called to personally make sure they received my cancellation - I was told "YES", they did receive the cancellation. Then, I checked my mail yesterday and there was a collection letter from Vivint for $194. I called to speak with a manager and was given an Accounts Manager name Chance today - he was like speaking to a robot who kept repeating himself and clearly reciting a script that he was reading. He said I never cancelled.

    What a joke this company turned out to be. It is really sad that companies have become so difficult to work with. Vivint tops that list - I would never recommend them to anyone - EVER. We also had friends who had their service and also had trouble with the service and trouble disconnecting the service. They are scammers.

    The package I got from Vivint included 100% cellular service, which is one of the main reasons I went with them, and the controllability from a smartphone. We travel quite a bit so we wanted to be able to let dog-sitters or maids in and out of the house and monitor them. The installation crew were very professional and knowledgeable about the equipment except for the garage door opener. They were unsure about it because it was brand new, but they got it installed and working. I did have a problem with it once after and I called the support line off of the app and they walked me through what to do and got it repaired. We didn’t need to get a technician involved so it was helpful not to have to wait for someone to come out.

    The doorbell cameras are very good added feature to the system because I use them quite a bit with the automatic capability of locking and unlocking the door. I would like to add second doorbell cameras because I have two main entry doors to the house. So if someone rang the doorbell in the front of the house, I could have a conversation with that person versus the side of the house. At the time when I signed up, it was not a feature so I don’t know if it is now.

    The timing was perfect to get a security system because we've been having some trouble in the neighborhood. So far, I've been impressed with the service. When the dog set the alarm off, Vivint called and checked on me. We've also had some trouble one day when I was on my way downtown and we had set off the alarm without realizing it. Vivint called my next door neighbor and she told them not to worry about it. I then called Vivint via phone and they unlocked, unfroze and rebooted the system. So whenever I call, I get through them very quickly and everything's taken care of.

    Every time I've talked to Vivint's staff, I've been very pleased. They’ve been very nice, personable, knowledgeable, and patient. The sales rep who came to our house was very nice and charming, and the reps I talk to on the phone are helpful. They walk me through my concern and don't act like I'm a complete idiot if I can't do it. The installers were wonderful, pleasant and courteous. There was one guy that was very experienced training the other guys, and all were working fast and furiously doing what they needed to do, and cleaned up after themselves.     We had a little trouble with Vivint when we first got the system because the camera was faulty. We weren’t too satisfied to begin with but they replaced the camera and so that helped. I only had to call them the other night to reset my box because it said it was under maintenance but never got updated. We went through that and it worked okay so now I’m happy about it.     Vivint's service was good. Everyone came out and took care of everything. They've been professional and did everything they said. I've been fine ever since from the installation to the service and equipment. The only problem I have is I referred one of my friends to them. The guy came out late at night, never ended up finishing the installation and that was only a second alarm. He made a mess out of the wall and driven holes in there. My buddy said he tried calling three times for the manager and left a message, but they never got back to him and nothing was taken care of.

    He called me up complaining how aggravated he was with the service guy. And all the guy was worried about was leaving and he didn’t have things that he needed. They explained to my buddy that they were going to have a truck and everything he needed, and it was going to get done. I wasn’t happy about that because I referred one of my good customers. I own a locksmith business and I've run it for 32 years. I get a lot of people that ask me about alarms and stuff. I didn’t appreciate that they were rude to him and I would like that looked into and see why they didn’t call him back. If that doesn’t get resolved, I won't give them as a reference because that looks bad on me. I started referring people and now I'm having problems which I don’t like. They're calling me up complaining and anytime I refer someone, I'm going to hear about it if something went wrong. But for me, I haven't had any problems with it and it's been over a year.

    Vivint's sales representative was professional, easy to reach, and explained the levels of service to me. Their installation team was good although we were having issues with the camera and the guy who installed it was supposed to come back, but he didn't. He told me to get in touch with him so I kept contacting him for a couple of weeks instead of contacting the company, and that gave us the delay.

    It took about two months for the camera to get fixed. I contacted them after stating that I couldn't get in touch with the tech who installed it. I had told them that I paid the full amount and my camera wasn't working. They told me to contact them again when it was working, but I never got the difference. I still paid $75 during the two months even though my camera wasn't fixed. I was also a little frustrated with them because my car got broken into a couple of months after I got their system. But then they helped me fix the system's sensitivity and I haven't had any issues since.

    We got Vivint's regular package with the thermometer, doorbell and indoor cameras, and the fire alarm. The sales rep who sold it to us went through everything and he was great. We spent two and a half hours asking him a bunch of questions and him showing us what the system entails. So far, talking to the sales rep was the best experience that we've had​. As for the installer, it took him some extra time to install the system because the wiring in our house was not correct, but he was very good and he cleaned up his mess.

    Vivint's services have been okay, although we've had some challenges, especially recently, with the app on my phone. Whenever I pull up to my house and try to turn the system off before my little 4-year-old runs inside, we have to sit there for four minutes while I try to connect to my home. Also, we had to have a service tech come out three times to fix the connections. But aside from these, their service was as expected, and I've been happy. There were a couple of things that they could improve on, but I'm not afraid to refer them to somebody else. In fact, I've already referred two people to Vivint.

    We had our system upgraded by a door to door salesman last summer. Paid $100 for upgrade, no problem. Didn't think of it at the time, but an account manager called a couple days later saying that buddy was supposed to be doing new installs not upgrades. Seemed odd call, I was fine, but obviously it triggered something with head office. Discovered a couple weeks ago (9 months since upgrade) that since the upgrade I was being double billed on credit and checking account each month. Wasn't too upset, called to resolve it, billing office closed, they took all info and asked me to call back during office hours. Seemed a bit odd they didn't make an effort to call me, waited a week or so, sure that they would call but no.

    Called them back and buddy said he'd investigate. Received email saying I would be issued refund email, but he couldn't call b/c their system won't allow calls to Canada? Called back today a bit frustrated saying that in addition to the refund I would like the $100 upgrade refunded as well, due to fiasco and their extremely poor customer service and lack of loyalty for long term customers. Buddy said "no! Expect cancellation when our contract is up!" This has taken an unacceptable amount of time to resolve, and by the way, the upgrade isn't worth the price. Our doorbell with video sticks out like a sore thumb (no casing, sticks out about an inch from siding). Everyone asks why it looks so bad, and panel is glitchy (door locks, thermostat aren't consistent, even though programmed).

    Vivint is a very well customer-oriented company that's willing to go that extra mile to take care of you. We're really loving our Vivint system right now. A Vivint guy came knocking on our door one night and my wife talked to him. I thought she knew him but she thought I knew him, so we talked about it.     The service package included the indoor monitor, the camera on the outside doorbell, one that has a smoke detector, and three door alarms. Every time we'd call the sales rep, he would check into it and things were taken care of real quick. He led us in the right direction. The installation guy was a young Hispanic gentleman who was super nice and very professional. And then the customer service is exceptional. Once we figured out the system and how our cable hooked up because we've got a lot of electrical surges in our area, everything was great.

    In August 2015 a Representative of Vivint came to my home selling a "New" "Better" security system than my current ADT Security. At that time I was in the process of selling my home (Real estate sign in yard). The representative said Vivint was new to area and wanted to get into our area. I explained I was selling my home and did not want to be obligated for a lengthy contract. He at this time said we could cancel the service when we sold our home, that the wiring and equipment would still be in place for future homeowners.

    Upon selling my home I called Vivint and cannot get this cancelled. They have been very rude and stated I will either pay for five years or I need to solicit someone to take over the contract. I am in the process of hiring an attorney due to the fact I had witnesses at my home when their salesperson sold me the system... I would not recommend this company to anyone and will report to the BBB and any other site with reviews.

    I had a quick experience with Vivint because we were looking at the time when the door to door sales people came. They were professionals, did a good job, and explained everything in detail. I'm away from home quite a bit and I wanted my wife to have more security and I can control it from my phone too.     I got the motion detectors, two doors with alarms on them, the camera on the doorbell, and the monitor. We were thinking about getting them and Vivint happened to be in the neighborhood. We are gone quite a bit and out of town, so we felt like we needed something. Most of their sales rep had been pleasant. The installers were great and nice, very helpful and efficient. The service so far is good. My husband is real bad in going out and setting the alarm off, and Vivint calls me. They’ve always been real nice about it. However, we had a problem with one in the garage that monitors the garage door and when I called, the gentleman told me we don’t have anything like that. It is hanging right there at home. He kept arguing with me and it was quite a nightmare. But other than that and being a little expensive than others, everything has been great with Vivint.

    I submitted a cancellation of service request on February 3 of 2016. Vivint sent me a confirmation email indicating my request was received and to give them 2-3 days to process my order and also that one of their team member will be contacting me soon. On February 5 the alarm was trigger and it went off. Vivint contacted me and I ask them to don't send the police. I also indicated Vivint's representative a request of service cancelation was already submitted on February 5 and I was put on hold while she was pulling out my account information. We got disconnected and Vivint sent anyway the police to my old address and never called me back again.

    I received a letter and fee from the Miami Dade County for false alarm a week later and contacted Vivint immediately. I found out then that my account was still active after my request of cancellation was made verbally and in writing over a week ago. I expended two days calling them and getting different answers from different members until finally Robin at extension ** told me to go ahead and send them an email with copy of the letter I received from Miami County and told me also Vivint will take over the fee for me. On February 23 I sent them an email and attached Miami Dade county letter too. Vivint sent me then a confirmation that my email was received.

    For my surprise I received yesterday March 14 another notification from the county for the same issue that Vivint told me they will take care for me. I contacted Vivint just to be told they didn't receive my email from the February 23 but they got the one from March 14. How that can be possible if I have the confirmation that both emails were received by them??? After being told by Vivint that they will pay the fee Miami Dade County is charging me for false alarm, Vivint sent me an email denying my claim. I want to add also that the electric power was cancelled on January 23 and the alarm battery was dead at the time it went off on February 5. Their customer service is horrible and their lack of cross training is notorious.

    Worst experience with any company. I sold my house and tried to cancel the alarm and was told it was cancelled but they sent me to collection 3 separate times. Now they tell me there is nothing that can be done and they want me to pay 288 to resolve and then they will cancel me. I haven't had the house or alarm in a year and a half. Oh yea and there is no supervisor I can talk to.

    Since initial installation in 2011 there have been nothing but problems with Vivint. Didn't receive camera because tech did not know how to install. Still have problems with door lock. Last time tech was supposed to come out didn't show. In past 6 months spoke with 2 managers, can't cancel services unless they receive letter or email. Have letter dated 2/24/16. Claim they didn't receive and will not cancel. They are holding people hostage. 5 years of lousy service and we still can't cancel. THIS IS CRIMINAL.     We moved into a new home last week. I did my research for home alarm companies. Spoke to at least 8 of them including few local ones. All the companies offered the same monitoring with the almost the same price. Vivint is $60 a month with a doorbell and door lock. Jason was our rep and Justin was our tech. Both awesome people took their time to explain everything. The system is up and running, no issues so far. The only sucky part is they let you try the system out for only 3 days. With all the high-tech stuff they offer I doubt anyone returns their service. The point of getting home alarm is you must feel safe. With Vivint we feel secure and safe when we sleep. It's a great company. Do your research. Don't fall for those 19.99 deals. For that you must have a home line which is another $25 so pretty much adds up to the same thing. Good Luck.

    I'd been thinking I needed some sort of security system as I live in an older neighborhood with older residents. They're not getting any younger and as they get older they'll either die or move into nursing facilities which means their homes are going to be sold and I have no idea who's going to buy them and this would change the neighborhood. There was also a time when my oldest granddaughter was living with me and she had a boyfriend who became very very obsessed with her to the point that I had to call the police three times.     My best friend thought that Vivint would be good for me since she put it in her home. Since I have people in and out my home, I thought the cameras would be beneficial, but it's not. The router keeps kicking offline every time there's a little bad weather, and I can't use it. I'm never home and so it's hard to get somebody to check it out. So I feel like I'm paying $85 for nothing. It's been like that for a couple of months. Vivint sent me a second set of cameras and they keep telling me that every time it kicked offline, it's doing something to the cameras which I don't understand. I travel a lot with my job so I haven't even installed the new cameras yet. The inside cameras still won't work because they need to be changed out again.

    I have the system for a year now and I could count in one hand how many times I can use it. I tried to call the sales rep to get tech support or any kind of assistance with the service, but he never replied. I felt like it was enough that he sold me the system and now I need to deal with tech support myself. The two guys who installed the system were good and commented that if I couldn't get in touch with anybody and I needed some assistance, I can contact them. But I don't feel the need to do that.

    To have this much complications with my equipment, which I think would be a bit more advanced, makes it cheap. If they'll tell me they'd send me two more and to throw the other ones away, then it means they're buying cheap stuff and that's why they're not working for me. They didn't solved the problem. Customer service needs to improve a little more.

    I have two cameras and one at the front door, which were quickly installed. I have the ability to check who the visitors were from my phone at work. Vivint's service isn't very good after they sold the program. I called them because all the time there is a battery out somewhere. But I guess it's because they used our same system and that's been a pain. Somebody came out and said that they don't have any service people and that they can direct me on how to do it myself. I said okay so we worked through it that way. We’re still using the system but if I had to do all over again, I wouldn’t do it.

    We talked about having an alarm system for quite a while for the safety and security of our home. A Vivint salesman came in the neighborhood, and we purchased the service which includes a front door camera, five door contacts, a garage door opener, motion detector, glass break, and a wall panel. The sales rep was very professional and arranged the installation the next day. Installation was done professionally and in a very timely manner.

    The Vivint system has been easy to use and provides the security and safety that we were looking for in a total system. We were also able to put on a heating and cooling system. We were worried about the alarm system interacting with our heating and cooling system but there was no problem with the connectivity of either. We also like the remote features using our apps on our smartphones. If we go away, we can check and see how things are going and that’s the security that was promised. One time, we forgot to close the garage door, and we remotely lowered it. It's easy to set the system remotely.

    Although I love the system, I’m having a little trouble with my motion detector on my camera. Sometimes I’ll have a person come to the door and they won’t register. Today, I dropped the sensitivity from 50% down to 35 and it stopped registering but I still want it to detect the visitors when they come to the door. Overall, the system provides exactly what was advertised and we’re very pleased with the exception of the camera problem.

    It's been frustrating and the Vivint system doesn't work half the time. When I disarm the garage door and open it, it says I have three doors open and I know I only have two. Then the garage door also opens and disarms by itself. We can arm it. We drove off somewhere and my wife put the phone in the glovebox. When we came back, she turned the phone on and was going to disarm the house and it’s already disarmed. It happens quite a bit and we didn’t know how long it’s been disarmed. I told Vivint that this has been when we first got it and the guy said that he didn't see it disarmed. He didn't believe what I was telling him but he was nice about it.

    I am very satisfied with the service. I have the doorbell camera, glass break protector, and all those sensors. I thought having these features is convenient because when I'm not home, I can see my dogs to make sure they're are okay and that the feeding lady comes to my door. It's also a good price because ADT was super expensive.

    The sales rep was a cool guy and he's the only reason that I referred other people. But I don’t like that when I refer a friend, I have to physically call in to get the discount. It should just be added to my bill. I shouldn’t have to call, wait to talk to somebody and get it credited to my bill because I refer people all the time and every time we have to call. It would be great if Vivint could fix the referral thing.

    The installation guy was nice, thorough and helpful. The thing I didn’t like is that he wired my front door even though my house is already pre-wired for an alarm system and attached the garage doors. So it sets the front doors open even when it's the garage doors that are opening. They said they can't do anything about it.

    I bought a doorbell with a camera from Vivint. However, I should have kept my ADT because Vivint is more expensive and I should’ve read the contract a little better because I’m stuck with them for five years. I should also have had my husband sign it because he was over 70 and I could have gotten out of it but I’m okay with it. I just got to call them for them to come and adjust my doorbell. People can hear it outside when they ring it but I can’t hear it inside. Nonetheless, I'll recommend them.

    Terrible online info. Could not find my current model, software version of panel and cameras. Why not? Could not get information on upgrade, i.e., resolution, coverage area, and could not compare... what I have to what I might want. Why can auto and IT industries provide comparison specs but Vivint cannot offer a simple fix? Most frustrating part of dealing with Vivint. Reps are outstanding but lack of information for due diligence is absent. Shame. Needs to be fixed. Second point. Just upgraded panel and cameras from Classic to Sky. Wasn't aware I had to get new app for my iPhone, iPad, & computer. Then lost connectivity to new cameras. Setup was not seamless and I am still trying to figure out how I can use cameras to monitor my 95 yr Mother. Poor, poor!!! Please fix!

The installation people were nice, too, but were very late, and they didn't install everything correctly. Our package includes the alarm system, space monkey, a doorbell camera and then devices for the windows and glass break detector in the basement. Their sales rep was very personable. I didn't realize when we're signing up that they were going to install it on that day. As soon as he left, three people came and worked until 11:30 P.M. I finally had to tell them to come back the following day because we got kids and we got to get them in bed and we also got work the next day. Overall, I'm very happy.

    I got an offer from Vivint to try their new system, and since we were just about to move into our new home, it worked out well. We have the camera at the main entrance, the keyless entries to the garage and the main doors, motion detectors, and we use the mobile app. We've had a couple of instances where they had to come out and upgrade a couple of things. When we had an issue with the garage door not locking on the panel or on the remote, they came in and installed a boost, so that the signal could reach down. We have a large home and that has secured that issue. And with any questions we ever had, the walkthrough has been fine.

    I also love that my phone rings wherever I am, whether in the United States or traveling internationally. I freak people out when I talk to them through the speaker because they don't know who's talking to them. I've had FedEx come in, and I just tell them to leave the package. They look around for a while before they do that. When the cleaning people come earlier than anticipated, and I'm still in bed, I tell them to give me 5 minutes and I'll be right down. It's very helpful, also to know when our kid comes in and out of the house at wee hours. He does get caught on the camera, so that's probably the greatest thing. And anyone who's with me is enamored by it. I've been almost like a salesman telling them all about it. I have friends who say they have to get Vivint, and that it's pretty cool. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied.

    We wanted security because we were only two women in the house. We have Vivint's Space Monkey, cameras, door and window alarms, and break-the-glass alarm. I’m not happy now because I’ve moved and I can’t get them here until the 12th of this month. I’ve been without it since January. Vivint's team were very apologetic, though, and they fixed the problems. Also, I got false alarms when the person who was living with us went through the panel trying to change things, but we got them straightened out. I was at work when my alarm went off and the police got there before I did.
