I had my Vivint system installed a little over a week ago and couldn't be more pleased so far. When I first called to learn more, I had a lot of questions and the sales rep was very knowledgeable and did try to push the product on me. I felt comfortable and decided to give it a try. I was a little uncomfortable up until installation because of the contract period and some other reviews I read. The installation tech was super helpful and made me feel very comfortable. Immediately my discomfort went away. It has been installed for about a week now and working perfect. No issues at all and the home automation is really neat. We accidentally set it off last night and had a call within 30 seconds and received notifications on my cell right away. Great product, even better service. Highly recommend.

The salesman from Vivint was a real good guy. I liked how he sold the service to me. Being a salesman, when somebody else is trying to sell you something, you have this automatic instinct of critiquing everything he's going to do so I started critiquing him and everything checked out good. When I told him to come back because I was busy, I was sold after he left. He respected what I was trying to tell him.
The lady who installed the system was really nice and everything was efficient. I could tell she knows what she was doing and as far as having somebody in my house, she was very professional. I like the quick access and hook up. She pulled her stuff out and started hooking everything up. I couldn't believe it. She's a good installer. I got two cameras and all the sensors. Everything is on and I'm very satisfied.

We were building a new home here in Altus and one of the doctors that I work for was having Vivint installed. And while we were building the house, one of the fellas from Vivint was making the rounds in the neighborhood on new houses. That’s how we purchased it. My service package includes doorbell camera, camera inside the great room, motion detector in the hallway and keypad on the outside garage door. So far, the service is good. However, we had power outage for about two days here in Altus because of storm and it went on battery back-up and I used the generator. When the power came back on, we had to reboot the system. I called Vivint and we walked through it in about 10 minutes. The salesperson was great. It was a great experience with Vivint.

We got the thermostat, doorbell camera, smoke alarm, windows and door sensors from Vivint for added security and convenience. Everything has worked as it should. I'm satisfied completely. Their installation team came in and got it installed in a timely fashion. It was effortless on my part and a good transaction. I've recommended them.

I got the service package including the camera in the front door. Vivint's service had two selling features: the first is the camera on the doorbell so that we could see whoever came to our front door and the other part is the fact that it would notify our cell phones and they could also speak to the people that were at the front door even though we weren't at home. I had a little difficulty with the signal when it first started, and they came out and put in a wifi extender. Since then, we haven't had that many problems with it.

We got Vivint's doorbell camera, keyless locks on all the doors, motion detector in the garage and flood sensor on the pump. The remote door locks (being able to lock them with phone) was very convenient. However, we're not very satisfied with one of the door locks, and with the flood sensor as it hasn't been working for a long time. They keep telling us it's not reading. On the other hand, everybody has always been good.

-- FRAUD-- This business is a huge scam. I called them on January 2nd 2016 inquiring about their home security system. They spoke with me and said they would see if their company is available in my area. She came back and said it was and she can proceed with my order. In order to do so she would need to complete a credit check in which I gave her permission to do so. (A credit check is not good for your credit score by the way) On January 8th 2016 I received a call and a text message from this company asking me to call them to confirm my install which was scheduled for Monday January 11th. On that same day I checked my credit card and noticed they had taken a payment from my credit card, which I thought was strange because I hadn't even had my install yet.
When I called to confirm my appointment they made a point to inform me that once they take payment I am in a 3.5 year agreement with them, something that I wasn't aware of when I ordered the service BUT was going to be ok with since they seemed like a good company and I was happy with the security equipment I was going to get from them. On Monday January 11th. I booked off work so I could be home for the installation. I make a pretty decent wage so missing a day of work is missing a good chunk of money off my pay cheque. They were coming between 2 and 5pm and at 132pm I received a call from them letting me know that their service isn't available in my area and they weren't coming.
Now I have to change my credit card, because they claim I am in a 3.5 year agreement with them that THEY didn't even hold up their end of the contract by installing anything. I'm worried they will continue to take money from my credit card every month. Please be aware of this company. They commit fraud, will tell you you're going to get free equipment, take all your information, take a payment from you before you even have their service, then on the day of will call you to tell you they can't come and install their equipment. I called to speak with a manager or supervisor and got the runaround... 5 hours later and still no call back from anyone from this company. So far they have scammed me out of 80.00 and even tried to sell me 240.00 more in equipment on the phone. Thank God I didn't pay for that!!! Please be aware of this company.

Vivint took way too long to get installation done. The equipment are not for free so don't let the salesperson talk you into something that is not true. It took them three to four visits to complete installation. This company does not live up what they promise in their sales pitch. So disappointed when I tried to get out of the contact within 24 hours. I was told that I needed to send an email, which I did, but later received a letter telling me that I owe them over $1,000 for equipment. Also, the amount I was given for my monthly payment went up by $40.00 without any written or verbal notice. At one point I was due a refund, later I was told that they can't find it in the system; they are not a very honest company and tried to give you the runaround. I just wanted to put it out there that they are extremely dishonest.

With Vivint, we can come in any door we want to since we can now remotely turn off the alarm system. Before, we only had one alarm panel to come in and out of our house, and we couldn't leave mostly due to the arming and disarming of the old system. We always had to come through our garage and when we came from the door from the garage into the house, where the alarm panel was, to turn it off. I also love having indoor and outdoor cameras. Moreover, whether I'm home or not, when somebody rings the doorbell, the doorbell rings on my cellphone and I could talk to him.
In addition, their sales representative was nice and awesome. He's very intelligent and he answered all of our questions without any hesitation. The minute we had asked him to verify if it's right before I signed the contract, he answered us when we went over the contract with him. The installation team was very knowledgeable, polite, and clean. They were in and out in no time. They didn't take much time when they needed to explain the operating system. I recommended Vivint to a couple of people, and one of them has installed it.

I always get great service, however, I’m having a lot of issues with my doorbell camera. The doorbell camera is the main reason I got Vivint, and it hasn’t worked about a week in December and still isn’t working two weeks into January. This is the fourth time now since I’ve got it that they’ve had to come and do something with it, it keeps going offline. They said it’s because my panel box is too far from the front door, so they’re going to do something to try and fix it tomorrow. Other than that, I don’t have any complaints. Anytime I call, they always try to help me as best as they can from the phone.

We're happy with Vivint and until now we don't have problems. We used to have another one before which was also good, but we like this one too especially for the door. We've already recommended it to people--my sister and brother and they already have it.

Prior to using Vivint, I have used another home security provider, Guardian. So far, I haven't been too happy with the service with Vivint, so they would come out negatively when comparing the two services. For instance, some of the equipment that was promised was not installed until months later, after receiving the service. When I called Customer Service to explain to them and let them know how frustrated I was, I wasn't getting anywhere. I spoke to a couple of different supervisors and then they were able to grant me a little bit of a deduction for the months that I did not have the service because of the contract that I signed, stating that I would have certain equipment which I did not have because it was on backorder.
Every time that they would say they were coming out to install the equipment, they wouldn't even call to say, "Hey, we didn't get it in. We're gonna have to re-schedule." So, they would just send an email saying, "We're coming out" and they never show up, and then I call and I say, "Hey, what's going on?" and they say, "Oh, well, it never came in." So that was one experience I had with them.
The other experience that I had so far with them is having negative signals on the panel, like it will tell you that a sensor isn't working or that something's wrong and you have to bypass it, and then I would call them to troubleshoot. I was on the phone with a rep for about over an hour trying to troubleshoot a problem. It seems as though the panels that they put on the windows are very flimsy and cheap. I suggested putting a little more work into those pieces because merely cleaning the window knocked off the magnetic part of the sensor completely and I didn't even realize that that's what it was. That may or may not be something that can be improved, but it seems like there's not a lot of communication going on between the company and the customer because for that one piece of camera equipment, I was waiting for months and nobody was able to help me, and nobody seemed like they wanted to help me.

Vivint's system features are fine but their app is atrocious. They need to work on that because sometimes we are unable to view or to arm/disarm the alarm system. If you use them going through your cellphone, it's a little hard to do sometimes because it's not picking up. Apart from that, the system itself is good. But the back-end of it is what’s off.

We got the doorbell and indoor camera, smoke detector and all that good stuff from Vivint. I have upcoming teenage girls and I want to keep them safe, especially if they sneak out or sneak anybody in. Their sales representatives and installation team have been good. However, the alarm was set off the other night by mistake. It went off and Vivint said they were going to contact me but they never did.

I haven’t had any problems with Vivint and customer service has been good. The installation team were extremely professional and we were very pleased that there were no hidden costs. The sales rep was real upfront about how much it would cost and what he said that we would pay was what we spent. That’s contrary to the experience we had with ADT so that was refreshing. Overall, it's been terrific.

I'm gone a lot in the summer time, so I decided to purchase the general home security deal from Vivint. So far, I'm pleased with everything. However, the initial salesman lagged on with his little promise to give me a wireless camera. It took three months, but I finally got one. The guy that came to install the products was great. He was courteous and knowledgeable, and showed me how to use the products.

We have a doorbell camera included in our Vivint package. We decided to have this feature so that my wife will feel more secure if someone is at the door at night. The installation team was great. They were very professional and did a great job. They were quick, clean, they didn’t leave a mess and it looks nice. There were a few things that the salesman said that turned out to be incorrect. For instance, he said that we would be able to communicate with someone at the front door with our keypad on the wall, the control panel, but it turns out that it isn't correct. Also, he said that if we had a problem, we could just yell help and the keypad would hear and would call for assistance or something of that nature.
I have recommended Vivint to other people. The only other thing that I don’t like is that I have to continuously log in to the app. If I log in and do something, I have to log back in the next day. It would be wonderful if there's an option to just log in to the app and not have to continuously log back in every time I open it because I have a lock on my phone anyway.

Vivint has sold me products I absolutely required then showed up and told me I couldn't get them (nest thermostat). They have sent installation men that were dressed in outside clothes and smelled like marijuana. Though the 3rd installation guy was exception thus the 5 rating. The people on the phone have been wholly inconsistent on what I am told I can get and nobody really offered to make it right ultimately like a reputable company would with the type of mistakes they made.

The guy from Vivint that stopped by here one night had a brochure and was telling me about their service packages and the features I can add, so I decided to get the doorbell camera. I also have the thing from my phone to plug my AC. The installation team came to my house and took about an hour and a half to install the system. The only thing I didn't like about it was some of the guys that came to the house made a huge hole in my wall as they couldn't find the stud. They just kept removing the Sheetrock, and I told them, "Hold on a minute." I shone a light in there and showed them. We got the monitor over the hall so if something happens that I got to remove it, I got to fix that hole. But other than that, everything was fine. So far, the experience has been good. One of the kids dropped something in the room and set the alarm off, and the reps from Vivint called. I showed their product to folks at work as well as how it works, and they think it's pretty cool.

We had a salesman from Vivint that had come to our house when we were building it and we were interested. He told us about the glass breakage which appealed to us and my need to make sure that we were safe and showed us the doorbell camera. He really went through all the products, and the ones that really stood out are the ones that we took and thought that we just had to have. He came back a few months later and we were ready to buy at that point, and he sold us right at the front door. We are not disappointed with anything that we got since we use everything daily.
We went with the doorbell camera, which we love. We have the security camera outside and two cameras mounted in the house. My husband already knew he wanted something on the outside just to catch the driveway and visitors that come up and some inside cameras as well. We had window breakage sensors installed and they are great. We also went with the air conditioner panel that allows you to work your air conditioner from your app. My husband was sold on being able to turn the air conditioner up and down.
The installation team was great. Both my husband and I were going back and forth every hour to check in, and he was wonderful. He cleaned up his mess. He got here after lunch and was gone by about 5:45. I got home at 5:30 with the kids. The same man came back a few times when we needed some help with the equipment. We had some WiFi issues and they helped us fix those and made sure our cameras stayed online. I had to have him come back twice. We kind of knew him a little bit and also got to deal with him again.
We had a little bit of an issue with the doorbell camera as there was a defect. The reps from Vivint said they were going to replace it. Ours completely stopped working and a completely different tech came but they put us on a month-long waiting list. They only apparently have one tech that runs a certain region. That tech showed up and we were right down the road at a party. We called Vivint and said, "Hey we're just a few doors down. Let them know when he rings the doorbell. We're gonna know because it shows up on our application. And tell him just to give us a call or wait a minute, we'll be right there."
We were here within about a minute and a half and he was gone. Never called. Vivint couldn't get the man back on the phone and they put us back on another month-long waiting list, which somehow got canceled and we had to go back on another month-long waiting list. We called on our doorbell issue on the second week of September and didn't have a resolution until the week before Christmas, getting three failed appointments. We kept getting the same guy. And I'm like, "Don't send me that guy anymore. Send me somebody else. Maybe we'll get a better result." And they were like, "We don't have anybody else."
But he was wonderful when he got here the fourth time. I don't know if it's a scheduling conflict or there's a need for Vivint to hire more people. We were on the verge of just paying to cancel out of the contract just to prove our point. It was very frustrating that it didn't seem as great as everything else was. This was the complete opposite. Their customer service was great and apologized profusely, but they could not bump us up any higher and we kept having the same tech. I don't think it was an in-house tech. We're happy now that it's fixed but hoping that any other problems, we've got a two-day turnaround at max. Vivint is very responsive but they were not with this.

We’ve had very good experience with Vivint. We had ADT first and we changed our minds because of our neighbors. I’m assuming other systems are copying the same thing so that most of them have the same thing but we're very happy with Vivint. They are very approachable. If I have a problem, I call them and sometimes I don’t even have to. They call me if there are any irregularities in the system which I really like. Not like other systems, they install it and then I'd never hear from them. Of course, when the light goes away it’s not their fault. But other than that, it’s okay. The only thing I wanted to ask Vivint is if I can talk to somebody that’s ringing my doorbell when I’m not home. I don’t know if we have that feature, but other than that I am so pleased with it that I have recommended it to other friends.

I learned about Vivint because a guy who worked for them knocked on my door. I pretty much got the complete package—the three cameras, the smoke alarms, and the rest that were there. And so far, it’s been good. The fact that I can be in Knoxville, Tennessee and talking to somebody ringing my doorbell, has been impressive. The Vivint sales and installation teams were wonderful - they were there on a Sunday evening.

So far, so good. I haven't had any problems. The only thing was the front door bolt lock, but it's been fixed. They're quick to response. So other than that, I'm satisfied with Vivint.

I love the Vivint alarm system. Sometimes I'd have a little issue with the doorbell, but when I call, I get great service. The installer knew exactly what to do and they were in and out in no time. When my friends come over, they can't believe the size of the screen and how neat it is. It has all worked out well and I've been very pleased.

I love the camera at the door that's included in our package and I like the doorbell rings on our phone. We’ve had a couple of little accidents as far as setting the alarm off and Vivint has been prompt. Our experience with Vivint's sales and installation teams has been great and we were impressed. We’re happy we have Vivint and I’d recommend them to anybody. It’s a lot more money than what we were used to paying, but at this point, it’s worth it.

The system is working good, and we’re satisfied. The young sales guy was good. He’s very persistent, but was pleasant and got his point across. The installation team didn’t show up when they were supposed to. They were running a month behind and I was disappointed in that. Other than this, it’s okay and I’d recommend Vivint.

I first found out about Vivint from a friend and they were very happy. And so we called the rep that she utilized, he came out and we hooked the system up shortly thereafter. We have a lot of antiques and we decided that we really wanted to protect our house. So the camera at the front doorbell was a big deal, as well as having a remote camera that we could move around. Also the thermometer, being able to control the temperature from almost anywhere on our phones, those were the big features. Furthermore, their sales representative was outstanding. We got a Vivint home security system in August of 2015. We are a young military family and we recently had our first child. A man came to our door and made us an offer, that we at the time couldn't refuse. I like the idea of having some sort of security protection while I'm home alone with the baby and my husband is deployed or tdy. However, we thought the 70 dollars a month was too high. I'm a stay at home mom right now, and we live in a very tight income. Aryan (salesperson) gave us his verbal guarantee that by using the smart thermostat we would save at least 42 dollars a month on our energy bill. So we decided to get the system because with that savings we could afford it. Well, that has not been the case. We have seen no proof of savings on our energy bill. I called Vivint and they said that guarantee wasn't in my contract. Of course.
I didn't, for some reason even look to see if it was written in the contract. I just trusted his (Aryan) word to be true. Stupid mistake on my part. Now Vivint isn't willing to do a dang thing to help us. They made me call the salesperson myself to try and get him to verify that he gave us that verbal guarantee. Of course he never answered and never returned any of my phone calls. He doesn't want to get himself into trouble by saying he did indeed give us that guarantee.
I contacted Vivint again and was told they sent him an email explaining what was going on since not even Vivint could get a hold of their own employee. I'm still waiting (1 week later) for someone to contact me. I'm outraged. We were vulnerable and we got swindled. That salesperson knew we didn't think we could fit it into our budget and that's why he gave us that phony money saving guarantee. My husband goes to work everyday to protect his country. And he just wanted to be able to protect our family as well while he's away. We may not have a lot of money, but my father in law is retired military and he does. He's contacting a lawyer over the matter. Thanks for nothing, Vivint.

A Vivint sales person came to my door and told me about it. We needed a security system so we purchased the programmable thermostat, automated garage door, and the automatic locking of the front doors. We like the services and being able to do everything from our phone, but we've had a lot of issues with them like our panel randomly disconnecting to the internet and just not connecting so we can't use our doorbell camera. Even the people that installed our equipment couldn't get our panel to connect to the internet. We've also had a lot of the app's unresponsiveness when we've been trying to do stuff for our house.
They had a guy come out and give us another modem. It worked for a little bit but now, it's on and off whenever it wants to. I've called customer service multiple times saying that I really prefer not to pay full price for something that doesn't work and they can't fix. They told me that since I haven't had their service for a year, there is nothing they could do for me. Overall, it's been pretty good but I still think we're paying too much for what we're getting.

Vivint had a crew going through the neighborhood, offering free installation to switch over from our current provider (which at that time was ADT). The sales rep happened to be the manager. He said when I get within a year of my three-year contract with my provider, or when I get out of the contract, to give him a call back and they will honor the new install. I called them back to see if he was still there and they followed through on their promise to me which was they would install the system for free and I would just pay the monthly fees and be in that three-year contract.
A guy did the installation but didn't provide a whole lot of consumer education about the product. Hence it was a learn-as-you-go-along for me with their system. I was initially really pleased with them. And then I started having issues a month later. I went through a period of time when my systems completely shut down and didn't have any service. I also started to periodically get a little bit of hits and misses here and there. I knew the installer was a contractor but I also thought it was really interesting when the Vivint representative told me they normally have to come behind the contractors to fix the system since they don't install the system right.
Most recently, I had a problem with the opening of my front door via the mobile devices. I have my sister staying with me for a little bit. She's paralyzed and we have providers that come in and out of the house. When the system started to fail and we couldn't remotely open the doors, I called Vivint Customer Service and they blew me off. So I wound up calling the office of the president or CEO and they sent a guy out a few weeks ago. He came in and took at look at the system, fixed it, and now we're back on track.
So I like their service overall. If I have any issue, they send out a Vivint technician, which is something I'm comfortable with because they do seem to have more knowledge of the system and are willing to show me what I need to do to maintain the system, or tell me what the issues are so that I don't run into the same mistakes again. An example of this is the technician who showed me which side to plug the lamp module in as well as the difference of the two unlabeled sockets. Now I know what to look for if I move that device again. I think they’re more responsive than ADT. It’s definitely less expensive and I think I get more bang for my dollar using Vivint.

One of our Vivint sensors had a battery that went bad and there was nowhere around here that had it. Vivint eventually sent a battery but in the interval, we didn't have security for several months because we couldn't turn the sensor on. They also had the heat hooked up backwards. Nevertheless, I'd recommend Vivint.

Vivint's service has been good so far and everything was fairly smooth sailing. Their sales reps were knowledgeable and helpful and the installation team was nice, although they came quite late at night. But they were willing to change or fix things for me. I talked them into putting the glass break alarm somewhere else because I didn’t like where they thought it should be, and they were more than helpful of finding another spot that was workable.

We have Vivint's camera at the front door, the phone app where we can turn the alarm on and off and adjust the temperature, plus the little key fob. The camera on the front door has been wonderful because we know if somebody has been to the door, rang the doorbell and actually know what's there. For instance, if we’ve got something delivered, then we will know it’s there. There’s been a few times when we’ve called the neighbors and say, “Can you go over and get this, because it’s been delivered." We love the service so far. We like that their sales reps were very knowledgeable and not pushy. We did have a power related problem with the system but we got it fixed very quickly over the phone. The installers were very neat. They cleaned up everything and took away the old stuff. They were very friendly and went just where they were supposed to. We are extremely pleased with Vivint.

I have one of the better packages with the doorbell camera, thermostat, 911 assist, those warning things, and smoke detectors. The service has been wonderful. Everything works great and any problems or issues we’ve had with it, Vivint has been prompt in getting them resolved. I’m satisfied.

We have nothing but respect for Vivint. Their installation guys were great and we love them. They came and set up the system, and they also came right back when it didn't go well, since my husband is very particular. We even set three fire alarms off and every time, their staff were so polite. The first time the alarm system was not turned off when someone went to get the newspaper. The second and third time happened while we were cooking. My sister has Vivint, too, and she loves it.

I’ve been very happy with Vivint. I have the doorbell camera, two indoor cameras, the touchscreen panel, some glass breaks, and some door and window sensors. I also have the automatic locks on the door. When I get an alarm, they respond very quickly. I had a friend of mine accidentally set mine off, and they responded something quick. I also had an issue with the doorbell, but their guys were quick to fix all of their stuff. I was able to get reimbursed because I had to get an electrician to come out to fix the doorbell. They took care of that and they kept in contact with me. The photo feature that I have on my phone has also been pretty good. All the guys I've interacted with were great. They were prompt when they came over and they taught me how to use everything.
I had another company before this, but I’ve been pretty much enjoying Vivint lately. I love their equipment more than anything because it’s more modern than a lot of other companies that’s out here. Other companies still have the little dial-up pads that they work with, so I’m really loving all the digital stuff because it's very simple.

The package I purchased included the video doorbell and the two video cameras in the house and the garage door. The installation team was very efficient. So far, the service is good. Vivint quickly called one day when I accidentally set the system off myself because I forgot to disarm it. They have always returned my call in a very timely manner. I called for a booster because the house is big and the system doesn’t always work for the garage door from my phone. It has not been as easy as I had hoped it would be. When we’re an hour away and I can’t let someone in to the garage door or check to see if it’s closed or open because it will stick one way or the other. And a lot of times the garage door is open which is not good. I haven’t had real good luck remotely controlling the system. I’m not sure if it’s the satellite signal, but at home it generally does good. Overall, I really like the system and the experience has been very pleasurable.

The concept is remarkable and that’s the whole reason why we signed up for it. The way Vivint presented it to us, the way that it's supposed to work is great. When we signed up we knew we're going to pay twice as much as what we were spending before on our services. It's nice to have a little app in my phone where if I forgot to set the alarm, I can do it right there in my phone. I'm driving with my phone app in the driveway, I want to turn on or turn off the heat, turn on or turn off the air conditioning, that’s all great.
However, we've had nothing but problems with Vivint. We had it initially installed in March and we're still having problems with it. Every time we turn around the doorbell camera or the home base box is offline and the doorbell just rings all by itself. The reason why we signed up for it is that we live outside the country for several months out of the year and it's one way for us to efficiently keep an eye on our house without having to depend on neighbors or other people to keep an eye on things. My husband and I are in Italy and both of our cellphones start ringing because of the doorbell, but then we can't access the function to either answer the doorbell or to speak to whoever is on the other side or even just see who’s on the other side because it says our box is offline.
There are factors that are working very nicely, but these are the things that we really went with it for. We're paying Vivint about twice what we were paying with ADT and the whole reason why we went with this was because of those additional features that we did not have otherwise. And I had not seen any other companies that offered comparable services and I didn’t even know they had comparable services. I had ADT in the house I lived in before, and I never had any problem with it. We're a little frustrated with Vivint and my husband has just about have it up to here with it. He’s saying if they cannot get this fixed and get it working like it's supposed to be working in the way they presented it to us, then we want out.

Am very impressed by Vivint's warranty service. Our rep had to travel 185 miles to service our unit and then return to the big city. The weather was not the best either. All was done without charge.

A couple of years ago, Vivint was coming to the neighborhood and somebody stopped to talk with me about it. I liked it but I already had something at the time. And so, I waited about a year and decided to go ahead and canceled my other thing and signed up with them. I'd prefer Vivint because they have more features and great stuff that I was looking for. Not to mention, my experience with the installation team was all positive. They were very professional and quick. Overall, I've been very pleased with Vivint.

I was ready for a change because I wasn't impressed with the other company I had. A fellow from Vivint came and showed me what they had. I listened to what they had and it sounded good so I went with them. The installation fellow was good, very knowledgeable and showed us everything. However, I was supposed to get three months free and they initially posted one. I had to fight and finally had to quit trying to deal with the guy that I got it through and had to deal with the office in order to get it rectified for the remaining two months. But other than that, the experience has been excellent.

Vivint sounded like a good deal and the sales representatives knew what they were doing so we gave it a try. The installation team showed us how everything works when they installed the system. We have problems with it every once in a while, but any time that we've had a problem, they came out and fixed it, so we're happy with them.

We've been having quite a few problems with Vivint lately. They have equipment failures and problems scheduling appointments since around August of last year. Our service panel for our alarm system exploded and it went down. We couldn't get anybody to come out and fix it for two and a half months. When they came to replace it, they programmed some of the sensors wrong and somebody has to come back out for that.
We also got a bigger doorbell that doesn't work very well. The problem is that our control box is too far away from the doorbell so it needs a repeater and we have been trying to get a repeater. Originally, we were told that they would assemble it to the house but it turns out the request was rejected because they said the technician had to come out and install it. That was before Christmas.
I'm a truck driver and my wife has her own business so the only day we have available is her days off which are Saturdays. But every appointment we have ever made since we had that system installed, nobody has ever showed up when we want to and we had to reschedule three times. After New Year's, there was supposed to be a technician who'd come out. We both waited and when he didn't show up, we called Vivint and they told us their technician was not scheduled to work that day. They turned around and we're now scheduled for the 16th.
We had moved twice in four years. We were in Carlsbad, New Mexico when we first got a Vivint system and the system was perfect. The customer service was fantastic and the technicians were unbelievable. When we sold the house in Carlsbad, we left the system there and the people took over the service. The very first thing we did when we bought the house in Arizona was call Vivint because we wanted it back. We moved in the beginning of May and our experience with Vivint started in June. It blew up in August and has been crappy ever since. At this point, I would not recommend it to a friend.

I recently had some stuff stolen from my house. Not while I was away, it was friends of family and friends of friends. Plus I also travel a lot and figured I didn’t want to leave my house unguarded. So I thought I needed home security and decided to go with Vivint. Their sales reps were all great. Their installation team was also really knowledgeable, entertaining and very personable. My experience went great with the installation of my security system. My only gripe was that the tech was sent out not fully stocked with equipment and now I have to wait a few weeks for the rest of my equipment to come in and get installed.

I chose Vivint because I didn't have to pay for any of the equipment. I have a smart garage door opener and am still waiting on the attachment that goes in my garage door since they weren't making the one that set mine at that time. I just wasn't very happy when the installation team took all of my locks and doorknobs except the thermostat, but didn’t leave all that equipment for me. And in the last month, it would take 45 minutes to an hour to get a notification on my phone if there is someone ringing the doorbell. Other than that, I have recommended Vivint to friends.

My ex-husband signed up for services with Vivint. Which were excellent. Absolutely no complaints with the equipment, the system or customer support. The issues I had with Vivint pertain to their billing and trying to get a refund. My husband and I divorced and sold the property that we had the Vivint System installed at. When it came time to discontinue services with Vivint due to the sale of the home, I was told by multiple representatives (3, to be exact) in customer service that I was still liable for the contract (even though I was just an authorized user and the account was in my ex-husband's name) and I had two choices: To either pay out the remainder of the contract (roughly 18 months) or persuade the new homeowner to take over the contract. I decided to "defer" the billing for 3 months and call back at the end of the three months to defer the billing again.
At the time of that phone call to Vivint, I was told by the representative that I was informed incorrectly - that I was NOT liable for the contract since I was just an authorized user, my banking information was to be deleted from the system, and going forward, I was not going to be billed for their services for a home I didn't own again. The very next day, I was billed by Vivint for $75.00. It took two weeks, multiple phone calls and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau of Utah to get a refund in the form of a paper check. In the response to my complaint to the BBB, a "Nathan" stated that along with my refund, all my banking information was to be deleted from their systems. I was billed AGAIN by Vivint for $117.32 this past Sunday, two weeks after I finally received the initial refund!
I called Vivint as soon I saw my checking account to be told by a rep that the proper department who handles that was closed and there was nothing he could do. He also informed me that banking information is "never" deleted by Vivint but he could place the billing from auto-bill to direct-bill. This is NOT what "Nathan" stated in his reply to the BBB! I called the next day, was on the phone for over 45 minutes, was reassured that the refund process had been started and that I would have to call back the next day to confirm that my billing information had been deleted. So, I called the NEXT day to check on the status of my refund to be told that my refund was "rejected" by the auditing department. No, my banking information was not deleted. No, there is no one to speak to in the auditing department. No, there is no supervisor to escalate my complaint to. No, there is no way to contact "Nathan".
Dead ends all around with no resolutions except to file another complaint to the BBB of Utah and start writing reviews like this. I had to go to my bank, request a stop-pay (and paid $35 for that!) cancel my debit card, open a new checking account and have Vivint, Inc. blocked from making further debits from any of my accounts. This whole experience with Vivint's refund policy had negated any positive things I could ever say about this company and I will never ever recommend to anyone shopping for a home security system.

We decided to go with Vivint because of my son’s recommendation. The sales representative was real friendly. The young man who installed it had a bit of trouble with it. We couldn’t get the camera at the front door to work. He worked on it for two hours. Thought he had it fixed and then after he was gone it didn’t work. When they finally came back to town, they worked on it again a couple of times. The camera works, but for some reason, the battery at the front door that lets you know that the door is open and closed runs down within about two weeks, three at the most. I replaced it several times. The other batteries in the doors that open and close haven’t ever had to be replaced yet, so there is an issue with the one at the front door but I don’t know what.
The installation team was always friendly and courteous. They were certainly nice young men. You could tell they get frustrated a little bit every once in a while but I would, too. There was some update that needed to be done in part of the installation which they had failed to convey to the young man who did most of the work. Then there was another young man that came and he’s the one who got the camera working finally. That was after about the third visit. Overall, I’m happy with Vivint.

The Vivint system hasn't worked as advertised since the day of installation, so I'm having a horrible experience right now.

The installers were great. There were some voltage issues that we had to get fixed on our side and they came back the day that we had contacted them and installed the rest of the stuff.

My sister had Vivint and I also got a service package from them which includes the doorbell, window monitor and wall monitor. Their sales reps were easy to contact but they don't know the service. Moreover, the installation team was very courteous but they were very swift. They installed it very fast and I was impressed with that, but they did not really explain what might happen. They were in a hurry trying to tell me how to operate it and I didn't get it so I was very frustrated. Moreover, I'm not very impressed with the door lock. I put the keypad on the door on and it was supposed to unlock when I put the number in there, but it didn't. And when I opened the door, it sounded my alarm and the monitor screen is locked. I'm very dissatisfied.

The service package I purchased includes the doorbell camera, the visible little keypad, the motion camera, the thermostat and safe animal. I got them because I have a son who stays home by himself after school. It helps to see when he got home and what he was doing while he's home. So far, I'm very satisfied with the alarm system but not with the safe thing. The sales representatives and the installation guy at Vivint were really nice. The installation team was only one guy and he was fast, cleaned up the mess and got in and got out.

We just bought a new house and we wanted to be sure that our family is safe so we got Vivint. We have the doorbell camera and video camera. Overall, we are satisfied with Vivint but not with the sales rep. He was a nice enough guy, but his follow-up is very poor. He made this deal and that was the end of it. So I don't bother phoning him anymore because he never gets back to me. Instead, there was a guy who came to the house when we were having some issues during the system set up, I phone him now cause he's very helpful.

We want to put an alarm on our house so I got a lot of stuff from Vivint. The alarm and the cameras, the doorbell camera, all the door things to monitor the doors, a fire alarm, fire detector and smoke detector. My level of satisfaction with their service is the top. Moreover, their sales guy was fantastic. He made a couple of visits to us to answer questions. And the install team was on time, did a great job, cleaned up. Overall, I think it's a great company. I'd recommend them.

The Vivint sales reps were very knowledgeable and the installer was courteous. We're having a lot of problems with the camera. They are not hooking up with the cellphone and keep going offline. It happens all the time and now I can't even check on our house because everything's offline.

My neighbor had Vivint and we're using them for security service. Their sales reps are outstanding and I had a great interaction with their installers. Vivint provides a 21st-century technology for home security that's really needed and I appreciate it. I have the video monitoring, glass break services and an app that I can look and lock the front door on.

I've been with Vivint for a few years. Never have had any issues with my old system. Had a chance to upgrade my system with the new Sky panel with the auto door locks, indoor Cam and Doorbell cam, which are awesome!!!. Can't begin to tell you how please I am with this package. This addition to my already existing package makes my home security complete. Like to take a moment to commend the installer (Chance) on a job well done. He seemed to be a very seasoned installer, took his time to explain the new additions of the package all the way to the New Sky App. You need to keep this guy around. I'm very satisfied. A+++.

Vivint offered me an opportunity to be a hub home for the internet service so I took it. I'm very happy with their services. Their sales rep and the installation team seem to be fine. Every time I had a question, I got it answered. All in all, I would recommend them.

We just bought our home in VA, but did not move in for a month. I called Vivint and they were understanding. No pressure to purchase until we moved and I called to set up installation. The tech, Justin, was so friendly, professional and thorough. The equipment is easy from home, away from home, cellphone or if I'm upstairs, I can easily secure my home and control the up & down stairs thermostats. Very nice! We have our own security code and code word in case we accidentally open a door without deactivating the home. I love the cameras and the motion detectors, in which I get notifications for! 5+ stars!!

We haven’t had an alarm system ever, so we decided to get one from Vivint. The sales rep came to our door, and talked with us about the system. He explained everything and after that, the installation team came in. The installers stayed quite late in our house – it took them until 1 o’clock in the morning to finish the installation and they cleaned up after themselves.

Vivint entered us into a 5 year contract unknowingly and when we moved, I was unable to cancel the contract even though no one told us at the time it was a long contract. The contract was not explained properly. When I called to get a copy of the contract, I was given a hard time as to why I wanted a copy of my own contract. I had my account placed on hold while I moved but was still charged and had to call several times to get refunded. I find this company very sneaky and they have poor customer service and business ethics.

Vivint's sales representative was amazing and super friendly. His sales pitch was one of the reasons why we ended up switching to them. I have the doorbell with the camera that I can talk to people through and I am able to turn those lamps on and off inside my living room with my phone. I've had nothing but positive experience all the way around. If I had any questions, I call and get answers right away. I've already recommended them to five or six people.

I got the package from Vivint which includes the camera for the doorbell and the touch panel, and then the apps on the phone. I also got the monitor, the smoke alarms and the glass breaker. I'm extremely happy about everything. The sales reps were great, pretty down to earth, fun to talk to and joke around with. As far as the installation goes, it was pretty smooth and quick. The installers were helpful after everything was set up as far as directions. The only gripe that I had was when the guy installed the router. He forgot to plug up my router which went to my cable boxes to my U-verse but I figured it out and fixed it so it wasn't that big deal. I definitely recommend the service of Vivint for sure to anybody looking for any type of home security.

While the person I was speaking with in customer service was fantastic and went above and beyond her efforts to assist, the problem was when a false alarm fire detector went off and resulted in emergency response being contacted. We did manage to cancel. However shortly after we cancelled we received a call from an emergency responder who was dispatched. He said they were calling as a courtesy. During my conversation with the responder I learned the incorrect emergency responder was dispatched. The responder informed us we should immediately contact our security service and update our emergency service with them... I did and they informed me they were unable to update because according to their information the correct emergency service info is associated with our account but they would look into the matter further. This is to say the least unnerving...

I switched to Vivint to update the technology of our home security system. Compared to my previous provider, Vivint is better and more user-friendly. I have more access to what’s happening within the home with my telephone, where I can connect, download the app and see what’s going on. We've called Vivint to go out here a couple of times because the battery was going out on the panel, and they were very prompt in coming out and replacing that. We had another issue when we had a power outage for over eight hours, which drained the battery, and they were very responsive with that. Vivint's very excellent, and we’ve recommended them to several of our neighbors.

My husband works out of town and I wanted some peace of mind. The installer had to come back because one of my sensors wasn't working properly but my interaction with them was good. The two other guys didn't understand the question I had for them about the temperature device but the last guy was really helpful and knowledgeable. He told me it's the way that the program worked and that it wouldn't accept certain numbers. Not everybody knew as much as him, so I had him program it. My satisfaction with Vivint services has been good and I would recommend them.

I had two other security systems before selecting Vivint and the technology that they have is better. I think that's what attracted my wife to it. She is the one who did everything. She is a technology person and she liked the options that Vivint has. They showed up at the door about quarter to 8:00 at night, did their pitch and talked to my wife, and they started the installation about 10:00 the same night. The only thing that was negative was they told me it's gonna take an hour, but they were there about four hours - until almost 2:00 in the morning.
Also, it took a while to get the fire protection because apparently, the person who did it had to be an Ohio-certified person and the people who did everything else didn't have to be Ohio-certified. So it took two or three weeks for somebody from Vivint to come back out to put the fire protection in. But, I'd still recommend them and I already did to a couple of different people.

He assessed the problem - corrected it in a fast and efficient manner and even helped me restore my Vivint Sky access on my telephone as I am not very technical efficient. I'm gonna be travelling a little more and it'd be nice to have some home security, which is why I purchased from Vivint. We've got the thing that detects broken glass and the smoke detector from them, and so far they've been very on the ball. The sales people were good. They were very clear and they described the equipment very well. The installation team was in and out of here pretty quickly. They had some issues that they had to deal with, but they dealt with them and did a nice job for us.

The Vivint sales rep ran through the whole setup of the product so we signed up. The installers were quite professional, and were in and out in a few hours. They were missing one of the door's lock system and they came back and did it.

The biggest complaint that I have right now is that the package that I purchased included the doorbell that has the camera and the motion sensor. It records everything and it's all well and good, but I think it's a little over-sensitive. What I wind up with in it are almost a month's worth of videos on my phone under the Vivint recordings. When I review them, I see that a lot of it has been triggered by cars passing by on the street or my neighbor opening his garage door. So I go to delete the videos and you can only delete them one at a time. I would like to see Vivint update their software to where I could go through all the videos that are recorded and once everything looks fine, I'd be able to just select all and delete.
The initial installation team did a very poor job. They almost burned my house down. It overheated, so Vivint sent out another tech rep who was more experienced. His name was Mark and I felt very comfortable with him. He had to rewire a lot of things and fix everything that they initially messed up. The feeding frenzy of getting new customers is what I attribute it to, and that's basically the impression I got from Mark also. He told me that we were not the only one, so he had to come in and follow-up on a lot of their initial installs and correct a lot of mistakes. But since Mark came in, everything seems to be working well.
I would caution new customers to approach with caution. The guy from Vivint that came here was a super salesman - blow hard, big mouth. And if I had to do it all over again, I'd have thrown him out of my house and we probably wouldn't have a system now. I didn't care for him because he was way too pushy. I tried to ask him questions, and the next thing I knew, he ignored me and he talked to my wife and my son. It's like he didn't want to answer any of my questions. Also, 60 bucks a month for their service is a little pricey, and I'm torn now on whether or not I'm going to extend after. I got sucked into a five-year contract, which I wasn't really thrilled about. But I've been happy with everything so far. The wife feels safe and the system works well though it's a little expensive.

We had to have a couple of technicians back out after the installation. They damaged the house, and they had to do a damage claim. We were going to cancel our service, but a rep from Vivint gave us a discount price for the life of our contract and it can be seen in the notes. But when we called Vivint because we were going to be charged the regular price, they would not honor the discounted price that they told us because we did not cancel. I pretty much got a phone call which said "If you like to cancel, we will waive the charge to cancel but that’s the best we can do for you." So overall, I’m not a happy camper with Vivint.

I had a guy come to the door to offer a security system. I told him I wasn't in the mood ( I had lost my partner 3 months prior and I already had a system). He would not go away until I let him in to give his props. He told me Vivint would pay for me to give up ASG. That I would have a 1 yr. contract with them and if I didn't like it that I could cancel. So I said ok. I will try. He asked if I would sign the contract, as I began to read, he stated "everything I told you is true, could you please sign this, I have to get home my wife called and we need to take our daughter to the hospital". With that said I signed it.
When I went to cancel after the year, they told me it is a 5 yr contract and to get out I must pay the remaining 4 yrs. When I told them the representative told me it was for 1 year, I was told he no longer works there due to other complaints of the same. My system has not worked for 6 months and when I go to the website, it is always down. I have told all of my friends and neighbors about this company when they asked me how I liked Vivint (they were looking for a good Security System). I told them to go with another company. If this was the last company I would never get it again. They have all went for another company and I will do the same. This company is not BBB credited as reps will tell you. Stay away!!!

Right now we’re satisfied with Vivint, but when they first put their system in, we weren’t getting feedback off of the front door camera. This went on for about two or three months. Sometimes it seemed like it was working, sometimes it wasn’t. When we called their customer service about it, they began to ask us questions - if they had an audible alarm, if we come in and had to set it off, we’d be able to hear it. We knew that there had been several times because not being used to an alarm system, we had come in and gone for a couple of hours cutting it off and it never went off. They got to checking the thing and found out that it wasn’t online and that it wasn’t hooked up right. The reps from Vivint did not put any door things on it where we could open the doors.
So they sent a guy out after four months and he got everything working properly. He was very experienced, professional, and knew what he was doing. At that time, the customer service said that they would retro us back because we’ve been paying 70 dollars a month. I already paid about four months’ worth so they went back and made things right. They gave us one month or so. But for four months, we didn’t have any service at all. If there was some way I could’ve gotten out of it right then, I would’ve gotten out. From what we have learned since we put the system in, the price is pretty high with what we got to start with. It also takes a long time for a technician to get here if something goes wrong.

I had a wide system with ADT before. I had been looking into their wireless system -- the pulse system. At the time, that system was more expensive than I thought it should be and Vivint was more competitive. I had a conversation with their installation team about the products, components and its usage. They cleaned up after themselves.

My experience with Vivint was great. I had a doorbell camera and I like it. When I'm inside my recording studio, I can see who's coming up to my door. Everybody who sees my camera is fascinated by it. I'm gonna gather 12 people here and have a Vivint sales rep to pitch this and show them how it works for me and see if I can get some sales. I have talked to a rep and I have a person here who got it when I introduced him to it.

My father had Vivint before. I had ADT at the time so I forgot all about it but they came door-to-door and he reached out my memory. My interaction with them was pleasant. The whole setup was amazing. I had some follow-up with the same group of people that came around trying to sell as they also made sure everything was working and all needs were met. The customer service seems to be okay. It's maybe more expensive than it should be but the experience has been good.

I've had an excellent experience with Vivint. I have an outdoor camera, front door and smoke alarms, a house necklace and back door and window sensors. Everything was good with the sales representatives, and the installation team was very quick and knowledgeable about their product.

Vivint's service, for the most part, has been fairly good. However, their service response at times is slow. When there were issues, it would take 4 weeks before we could get a service person out here to resolve it. But I really like their system and it was installed quickly. I had a camera, a doorbell camera and smoke alarm. I didn't expect that it would be installed the same day I bought it though it went a couple of hours, but it was fine.

I got the cameras, the alarm system and the AC thermostat from Vivint and I'm mostly satisfied. The installation guy was okay for the most part. The only concern was when he installed the dead bolt onto the front door, he left some of the door shavings where he had to re-drill the hole. But the Vivint sales representative was very personable and knowledgeable of the equipment. I even referred a few people.
Moreover, the response team when the alarm goes off are really great. I've had an issue where it went off and I didn't answer my phone and they contacted obviously my emergency contact person and she got in touch me. Also, there's this one case where it went off because one of the doors wasn't closed all the way as it was really windy. I was close to my house and the Vivint guy stayed on the phone with me until I got to the house and everything was okay. My only issue would be when people ring the doorbell and the camera picks up. It seems like when I try to go on the app, it just takes a long time to load. By the time it's loaded, people have been already left.

I got the doorbell camera, doorbell timer and garage opener from Vivint. They are great people. Even when I call on the phone, whoever I talk to, are all wonderful. I recommended a friend of mine recently and she got Vivint's service. She came to my house and liked the service, saw the features and me opening my door through my phone. When she got there, I wasn't home, and I was able to let her in because I knew she was coming and I was running late. I let her in from where I was and opened my house for her instead of her waiting in the car. She was really impressed with some of the features and decided to get one.

I saw Vivint on an episode of Undercover Boss and got their service package which includes a front door camera, motion camera for the indoor, motion sensors, glass break and a CO2 monitor. I am absolutely satisfied with the service, it is exactly the way I wanted it to work. The original salesperson was great and knowledgeable. He laid everything out and it was very easy to understand. I have gotten back with him on a couple of occasions to check with some other things about some systems. We were able to use a lot of the existing equipment that I had. Every other company that came to my house said they couldn't do that. The installers came and said, “Yeah, we can use those motion sensors. We'll just hook it up to our system and everything will work.” And they cleaned up everything. I couldn't even tell they had been there.
We were out of town and the neighbors accidentally tripped our motion detectors so the alarm went off. We received the call but were out of service range on our cellphones so did not answer and could not give the password. Vivint went ahead and dispatched the county police that came to our house and walked through it with our neighbor. It was a simple mistake, but the process worked and I was happy that it worked. We were the first house in our subdivision to have Vivint installed, and I am extremely satisfied with it. I highly recommend the company and service.

Right now we have a problem with Vivint. My cameras keep going out and the system is not working properly. When someone was walking up to the doorbell, it would go off and when you open the door, it wouldn't let you know that the door is open. I am not satisfied.

So far Vivint's service has been disappointing. I've got the camera on the doorbell and the door lock that locks from the panel by them and law enforcement. The installation team was very good, but we've had numerous interactions with their sales rep because we've had a few problems with the system. Most of it has been taken care of, but there're still some stuff that happens. The doorbell rings constantly all day long even when there's nobody there, or it'll show someone on the front porch even though there's nobody there. Those are the two main things that we got it for and it's not working very well for us. I've talked to somebody from Vivint online. I told him I was very dissatisfied with their service and I would certainly like to get out of my contract, which of course they weren't gonna let me do. That’s when they came back out and tried to fix it, but it hasn’t been fixed.

My door lock failed after only a year to a year and a half of use. The company wanted to charge me to replace the equipment, which I did not feel I should have to pay as the equipment did not last long. An appointment was made and a rep came out and could not replace it with the same color as he did not have it on hand so he installed a temporary lock system. The rep stated that he would come back and replace it with the correct color as soon as it came in and to call him in a couple of weeks, which I did. We made an appointment time and he did not show or call. I continued to call him for a couple of weeks with no return call. I finally got hold of him and he said he would come out on a specific date and that he would call the day before with a time. No call.
Over the last year and a half, I have had consistently poor service and have received nothing but excuses and it appears that the company does not care... Until I go up the chain and have to request to speak to someone with authority. I also requested a call of 30 minutes prior to arrival for the latest appointment so I did not have to be tied to the house... And not have someone show up as in the past. I found out from the rep that they don't have to call, which I found astounding since I was told they would. When the rep showed up to replace the system was within a half an hour of the end of the appointment window, I called VIVINT to find out what was going on. The supervisor I talked to could not tell me anything and told me that he may not show up at all. Again, I was amazed!
I have regretted signing up with VIVINT and have told multiple people to stay away based on my customer service experience. I have had a couple of positive experiences but that was following poor service, which should never have happened to begin with. VIVINT touts itself with outstanding customer service which is completely the opposite from my experience.

The sales representative from Vivint must have done a good job because I got their system at my house. I had no problem with their installation team. They were all good. I had asked them at the time to give me a price on an outside camera, but they didn't have it. But I know they got it now and I will probably get it too.

Someone from Vivint knocked on our door and was extremely friendly and upbeat about the system. Their installation team was great! The only thing we regret is not getting the camera in the house. Because my husband is out of town two weeks a month, I felt creepy about him looking in on me. Now we're going to California every week for a couple of days, thinking about buying a second home and we wanted to keep a better eye on our home, so we may add it on later. We've had nothing but a positive experience with them and have recommended them to friends.

After calling in November to see what the necessary steps were to cancel our service. I was told by an account manager there that we needed to email them a cancellation letter and I said ok. I asked if any other payments would be taken out of our account and he said November is the last payment. November 28th the day our contract was up I emailed them the cancellation letter and then received a reply saying it can take 2 weeks to process.
Today I look (December 29th) and they took out another payment. So I called and another account Manger named Jackie who always had an excuse for everything said, "Well because you sent the email on the 28th of November, which was the day our contract ended your account doesn't actually cancel until December 28th." It takes 30 days to cancel an account and if any payment is due between that 30 days they will take it. We never had anything good out of them. Their equipment didn't work half the time and they didn't give me a key to my front door, so if the batteries die your soul and when I called to complain about the issue they want to charge a service fee. I don't recommend them to anybody.

I got a bunch of door panels from Vivint which are all wired with sensors and an interior camera. I also got a doorbell camera and a doorbell button. I wish I had more. My buddy signed and he got the same deal I got at the time and he got an outdoor camera and a glass door opener. He got all his doors still pinned. I'm a little upset about that but I couldn't change it. I even had to pay extra for the doorbell button. The whole experience had been good for the most part and service has been great. Technicians were the best. I'll recommend Vivint.

Our ADT had just expired and a sales rep from Vivint was at the door, so we found them by accident. But their sales rep was good. The installation team was quick and fast, and they talked me into some things. However, there are minor issues with their system. I had little time dealing with them because it wasn't fully explained to me how the system worked, but that was a minor mistake. And now, we're seeing a software issue. The account is under my name but my wife and I share the same account. When I called, I made two accounts and for some reason her own became primary. We're still trying to figure out why my password can't be reinstated or why I don't have a second account on it. So far I've been waiting about two weeks for them to call me back and I haven't heard anything.

During the sales visit, we specifically asked about the potential sale of our home and whether service could be ended without complication. The sales person told us that we would have three options: take the equipment with us, leave it for the new owner or terminate service. All without any financial responsibility on our part. We received an offer, notified Vivint of our intent to leave the equipment in the home since the purchaser wanted it to remain and was told to have the new owner call to set up a new contract or take over our existing contract. We gave that information (it was in an email from Vivint) to the realtor to pass along to the purchaser. The purchaser contacted Vivint within a couple weeks of closing, but Vivint failed to follow up and Vivint continued to take the monthly fee from our account.
We called Vivint several times and was told everything was being taken care of, but that we needed to send a formal written request to end our service. We immediately took care of that, but got charged again. This went on from May til August of 2015. We assumed everything was finalized since Vivint did not collect their monthly fee during the months of September October and November. However, Vivint collected another monthly fee in December, 2015. We called and spoke with a representative in the moves and takeovers department, was told it was collected in error and that the charge would be reversed. We requested an email confirming the call. No email was sent and the fee has not been reversed. This experience has been costly, both in time and finances. We are now considering legal action to put an end to this situation. We would not recommend Vivint to anyone.

There was a severe storm while I was away several hours. When I returned there was an alert message and continued beeping. I called the 800 number for instructions to turn off the beeping. The attempt to tell me how to check about the battery problem was determined to be a matter that needed a technician. That was scheduled for Monday since the problem was happening on Friday, Christmas night. I came home to find it at 8:88 p.m.

Vivint knocked on our door 2 years ago and signed my 90 year old dad to a 60 month contract while I was at work. Well, the system stopped working on 12/16/15. I called Vivint on 12/28 to see if they can fix it. I was told that the panel must have lost signal and I should open it to help reboot of system. I did not have the right tool so I was instructed to knock on neighbor's door at 10 pm for help! Since I did not want to do that, I was told someone would be out January 15th! So, I called the next day to cancel and was told my dad signed up for 6 yrs. He doesn't remember yesterday or signing that agreement. The very nasty rep told me that they would credit us but I tried my best to explain that I don't want credit, they need security but he refused, to listen. I told him that Vivint took advantage of an elderly man and we are not responsible for your system failure. His only response... CHARGE OFF!

I called Vivint on Dec 14, 2015, for home security, then I realized that I still have contract with my current security for another 6 mos. I called them on that same date to cancelled the installation, and also asking to refund my first payment back. Then I called them back on the next day, if I'm not mistaken I talked to the manager, I forgot her name, I asked her if she can give me a confirmation email for the refund, and she said she will guarantee it herself that I will get my refund. I wait for a week, still nothing. So I called them again last Tuesday Dec 21, 2015, they promised me the same thing. So far still nothing. I did called again this morning talked to Martha, I got the same promise, that the money will be back in my account within 3 to 5 days. Another 1 week wait. This is just not right. They are pretty fast taking the money from me, but take so long for me to get my money back. What a rip off.

Our service package with Vivint has the doorbell and indoor camera, glass sensor at the sliding window, as well as the garage sensor at the door, and we're able to lift it up from the application. Only the door lock system - the keypad - is missing, but we got almost everything. Their sales rep did a great job and we were happy with our interactions with him and still are. He was also there with the install tech who was very knowledgeable. The tech did very good work and he was very clean. So far, Vivint has worked out good and I have it set up so it arms by itself. A couple of times, we've opened it by mistake, and they have called or texted us right away. I know that they are really monitoring all the time, which is very good.

I was recently talking with the reps from Vivint through the Vivint control panel because my front doorbell continues to ring when nobody is there. I thought it was because I had a flag that might be blowing in the wind. I took that down and it still decides to ring periodically, so we turned the sensitivity way down to 25% on the front doorbell so hopefully that will take care of it.

We gave up ADT and switched to Vivint because they offered a better deal and gave us the cloud that we couldn't get through ADT. We have motion sensor lights, cameras inside and outside the house and the standard stuff that came with it including an alarm bracelet in case I have a fall. We had some problems at the beginning but they came right out and took care of it when it was installed.
I love the fact that I can do things from my cellphone with the system. I can see exactly who walked up to the door and who was at my house. Everything works except we don't know why our doorbell rings when we open the door. It doesn't set off the alarm, just the doorbell. We've talked to Vivint about it a couple of times and they don't have any explanation. They thought it had something to do with the draft. Everything seems to be fine, and I’d recommend Vivint to anybody. We’re very satisfied. We still have the sign in the front yard and we keep it up out in the front so that it lights up at night.

I received a notification that the battery was low in my motion detector and within hours all of my other sensors failed as well. By the end of that same day, nothing worked in my home. I called the customer service line and they couldn't help with anything. The first available appointment was not for another 2 weeks!!! That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for my home alarm system to be back up and running. Very disappointed by this horrible service.

I went with Vivint because of the equipment and the features that they offered. We didn't have any service, any paid monitoring at that time, so that helped decide to do it. I talked with the installer while he was doing the installation and that went very well. I like Vivint and wanted to get some of their equipment but this would have made it more expensive to where I wouldn't be able to afford it.

I heard about Vivint from my nephew who works for them. My purchase included the thermostat, the camera doorbell, the lock, a camera inside the house, a smoke detector and the shatter proof detector. I wanted to give them no star, but that rating was not available. I had Vivint install a security system in my home. After the tech left, the panel kept saying that the back door was open. It was closed, the sensors did not meet at all. She left it like this. I called immediately and asked that she come back to fix it. I was told by the customer support person that he could talk me through the procedure to fix it. When I kept telling him that the tech needed to come back, he kept saying that I could fix it myself. He finally said that he could send her back on January 12th, three weeks later.
In the meantime, I could not use my system as the closed back door would set off the alarm. I placed another call two days later when the deadbolt would not work. Same bad service. I elected to cancel my service. Miraculously, they could come the same day to pick up their equipment but could not come for three weeks to fix the same defective equipment. I do not recommend them. Very poor customer service.

Our service agent was prompt and thorough during the visit. It was a follow-up call from our initial install and being passed around the call center multiple times I was skeptical. It is too often notes to managers are due to poor service, but I just wanted to say how great our call was handled from a procedural and customer service standpoint. Good job on the recruiting. Vivint sales representatives were a great bunch of guys and we loved them. We had a direct, door-to-door Vivint sales presentation and we took everything that was available - the whole package with the full alarm system and water alarm. The installation team was knowledgeable and courteous but a little rushed. When they put the system in, they had lots on their plate so we got the basic information. There were probably some things they could’ve explained a little bit better and they could’ve spent more time. Last month, we had a water alarm that went off that was most appreciated. It was after midnight and the call came in from the Vivint control center there. They called us right away and the timing was great. We were able to respond in a quick manner and saved us a significant amount of damage, which was a plus. It was well worthwhile.

The salesman from Vivint was excellent and the installation team came within minutes and had it installed that evening, and that was a good job. The only trouble that we had after was that the doorbell cam was on backwards. They never followed up. I had to follow through and then there were troubles with installation on that and it took several needed phone calls to get that straightened away, so that wasn't a good deal. But other than that, I've been really happy.

I’ve been with Vivint now for at least two years. I got interested because their people kept coming around to my house even with a “No Soliciting” sign. After the third one that came by, instead of me fussing him out and making him get off my property, I heard his pitch and it sounded decent. I went from there. The installation team that has been here has been really nice. They not only talk to me as a customer, they also gave me some advice of what I can do and have actually made friends with a couple of guys.
I have the two cameras, the ones with night vision and motion sensors. I recently purchased the doorbell camera because I really like that. When I see something new, I try to inquire about it and try to get it, with my wife’s approval, of course. I love the home monitoring system. It’s gotten better since I first got it in 2013 and I’m really pleased with their customer service. I heard there are some new things that are going to be coming out in the near future that I would like to get into. I also told the last guy that came if they could do something about the camera - If they could combine the night vision camera with the rotating camera, it would be perfect.

It was good interacting with the sales rep from Vivint. Also, their installation team were very informative, able to answer questions and help you out with what type of system or what you should have in your home to protect your home. I had an excellent experience with both personnel that came out to the house and that have come out continuously. I've recommended the system to several people before I even got it.

Just a quick note to let you know why I continue to patronize Vivint home security. Cory **, field service pro, installed a new panel for me without any hiccups or confusion. He explained everything in great detail and all with a genuine smile! He even squeezed a doorbell camera installation at the last minute too. Oh, did I mention that this was on December 23rd?? About 42 months ago we had a team come through neighborhood. They explained everything about the system. We liked what we heard but I was also in the middle of looking for a new job. I was told by the team that if I moved they would work something out with us. We went ahead and had it installed and were happy with it until I got a new job and moved out of state. We called and I was told that I had two options, get the people that were going to rent the home from us to pay or pay it myself. Well they did not want to pay so I was told I had to pay so I told them as soon as my contract was up that I was done.
So 42 months later I have not missed a payment and we called to remind them that we are done were get transferred and had to wait 45 minutes on the line to be told we needed to send an e-mail. They gave us that e-mail and we sent on the 7th. So we thought we were done. Well not so fast. We get a call today Dec 23. saying that we have the fire department responding to our home, (another false alarm) so we were shocked and called them and were told that it could take up to 30 days for that to go through and of course they took their monthly payment again without a contract or my authorization. I believe they have a good product as long as you’re willing to pay for it but once your contract is up and want out be ready for long wait times on the phone and they will get at least one more payment that you do not want to make. I'm not happy at all with the customer service or how we were treated.

We had the camera and all 27 zones done in the house from Vivint, because they’re not capable of installing into the existing system. While it was an excellent experience interacting with their installation team during the day the system was installed, it was a negative experience with their sales representative. I've canceled 37 accounts with them and we're on the verge of being canceled because since day one when the system was installed six months ago, it’s still not operating properly. It worked for three hours and it shorted out. Then they had us hire a special electrician to come out and do some massive wiring. He got it working and the system works right now, but I’m scared to set it because it goes off every half hour. It’s too sensitive now. Vivint haven’t completed their job.
I've left a message for the owner of the company and we're posting on Facebook not to do business with them through the military because I'm a commander. I called their corporate office and talked to a real nice gentleman. He said he'd get back but never returned the phone call. They have over 975 complaints last year on installing systems and aren’t capable. Their doorbell system doesn't work properly in Brandywine, Maryland area. I'm already recommending to the billionaire at ACN not to do business with them because I’m actually building the largest American Legion in the world and they crapped on us. They don’t do anything for veterans either. We’ve left 47 phone calls; no one has followed up. They’ve been out here 29 times to repair the system. Instead of sending me someone out they gave me credit to keep me quiet because they found out who I was. I've had the system almost a year and I haven’t had to pay a bill one time.
The system, if it worked properly, is the best on the market; you can’t break into it. I just retired from NSA and I break into security systems and Vivint's system is one thing I would recommend. You can’t hack into it. I have some of the best hackers in the country and I can say that legally. The camera is no bigger than a pinhead and you can see 40 feet out to the street and 20 feet inside my house down to outside the house. Is that not impressive?

I'm very pleased with the services of Vivint. Their installer is a very professional gentleman and real quick with what he did. Everybody has been very helpful every time I've ever called. One time, there was an upgrade with the system and I needed a reboot, and when I bought new cameras, they helped me install the cameras and get them to connect. I've recommended Vivint to many different other people. It was a perfect experience.

We had an alarm that was here in the house when the house was built, and it was an old wired system and didn't function right. Vivint installed their equipment, which was like a hybrid between wireless and a wired system. They got it up and running and it worked fine for about a year and a half. It finally started giving me some trouble, so they came in and, in the meantime, we had the windows replaced. Once the windows had been replaced, they redid the whole system and upgraded the system for the video camera and everything outside, which I'm really having a good time with it. I'm also impressed with their customer service. They are great.
The only complaint I got is that Vivint had put one of those electronic door locks on the front door with the digital thing. Every now and then when I go put my code in, it doesn't take it. I have to press on it and then it will let me in. I feel that either something may be wrong with the unit or it may be wearing out. At some point, I'm going to call them up and have the unit replaced if it continues to give me trouble. I have recommended Vivint. My neighbor next door got them and my daughter's son-in-law has a system installed.

Vivint Security systems to me is better than ADT. Their response seems to be much quicker and they dispatch help faster. Their installers are very good at what they do. Moving my system from one state to another was very easy and fast.

About 5 years ago, a couple of Vivint representatives in our neighborhood came to our door and sat with us for about an hour and explained their way of home protection. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and promised new hardware for free, so it was attractive. I said yes, they came out and installed all the stuff and it all worked together and I was relatively happy with it. I really like their technology that they are using now where we're able to use our phones and integrate that into the entire experience and system.

When Vivint came around years ago, we were in a house and everyone in the neighborhood was in a lawsuit because of some faulty building. We don't want to install anything new when we're hoping to get out so they said, "Hey, look, if you move, just tell us and we'll move your system with you." That really sold us so when we moved, they also moved the security system and since the new location had more windows, I had to pay for a couple of extra sensors. I'm very satisfied with their service and I enjoy it.

Very pleased with employees – very professional and knowledgeable. And the service itself is great. What is making me have mixed feelings is the company's policy on backing up its equipment. I have twice had malfunctioning equipment which happens that's not a problem. The issue is the 50 dollars wanted to come and fix it. I had to throw a fit to get supervisors to credit this cost. If you want me to sign a 5 year contract and pay 60 dollars a month for this equipment you need to back up its functionality for that term otherwise don't make sign the contract. Other than that I have been very pleased. 5 stars except for that.

It's amazing how bad a company can be in this field. Vivint alarm company was a disaster from the beginning of just a quotation. We didn't even move further because was impossible just make an appointment or make them return our calls. After several intents and phone calls, we made an appointment for last Friday between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. And with a call in the morning to confirm the appointment, they never came, and we called again and they sound surprise and start to said was a mistake and we was never schedule that day. Somebody will call us in 30 min and nothing. Called back today and nothing. At this point, I will search for other company. I'm pretty sure this is a not serious company.

I called to report problems with my sensors. The panel kept says the sensor batteries was bad. It was going off on all windows and doors. I called Vivint and after they had me do several things, found out main battery was bad. This was December 20th. They told me it would be after the holidays before one could be sent out because their warehouse was closed for the Christmas holiday so I would be without protection till after the holidays.
Wow that is when a lot of break in occur but they was not concerned about their customer's feeling secure. I was very disappointed in this. I have referred several of my friends to Vivint but I would not do it again. After expressing my concern several times of having no security service I was not happy but what can you do... If they are making so much money they can afford to give their employees off over a week for Christmas we must be getting overcharged. I need to look into a different security company. They very clearly do not care about their customers safety...

We've really enjoyed Vivint's whole alarm system. Their team has come to our house several times and they've always been very professional and nice. Things didn't work when Vivint installed it. And they had to be back for 10 times and still sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The monthly service they put in our fee is outrageous for what were getting. It was not a very good experience.

I started off with the basic system from Vivint which includes the thermostat and door lock. Later on, we added the doorbell camera and some of the switches that control the lamps. The installation team is very knowledgeable. They left one old motion detector from the previous system installed and that failed within a period of a couple of weeks as it didn’t interface well at all. It set the house into an alarm, and had a police response. They opted to replace that at no charge. They said that they really should’ve replaced that at the time that they upgraded the system, that they shouldn’t have left one old one in the newer system. Everything went fine after that. They were very accommodating and apologetic. Vivint has been very, very good and they’ve gone out of their way to really do an outstanding job.
There is one area of concern and that is if a device fails and the home alarm system is at risk, being able to get a technician from Vivint to come out and resolve the issue was not as quick. I've waited two to three weeks to be able to get an appointment before anybody would be available. So if I had a problem today, it could be close to a month before anyone could actually come out, investigate and correct. We've had one major panel problem where the panel just literally nutted up and although they were able to get it resolved and get the system back online, they weren't able to solve the problem quickly.

I had my Vivint system installed today. The install was quick, only took 2 hours start to finish. I had the doorbell, 6 door sensors, 3 glass break sensors and one internal camera put in. My tech was very polite, thorough and explained everything to me. I love the system and feel 100% safer in my home now! Would definitely recommend!

Vivint went home to home in my new neighborhood. I got the whole works from them, the panel, thermostat, doorbell, camera, etc. Their sales representative and installation team were fine. The rep knew his thing, took care of it and finished it up quickly. The initial set up was fine too, but I had a rather terrible experience with a guy that came to set up my doorbell camera. They have an installation person who was astoundingly awful. But it's been resolved - Vivint took care of it so it's all good.

I'm very satisfied with the overall decision to purchase Vivint as I wanted an alarm system that is founded on quality in their devices and service. My motion detector doorbell has been a major plus as I've been able to monitor package deliveries and pick up from my front door w/out opening the door. My remote thermostat has been a pleasant surprise as I didn't know how often I changed the temps in my home. Now, I can change temps from my smartphone. There's 2 alarm functions that allow me to secure the home while in my home and secure it when it is vacant. I have no regrets in signing up and purchasing Vivint as my home security system.

My experience with Vivint has been good. It started off a little sloppy because they didn't connect the doorbell thing right and it took forever to get somebody out there. And when they did, it wasn't fixed right away. But that's been several months ago. Ever since then, I've been definitely happy with the alarm.

Everything's good from when we signed up and started with Vivint. The person that came to do the install was good. We got the doorbell camera, smoke and motion detectors, window and door sensors and the panel. We've also had a couple false alarms. One night my son was sick and my husband took him into the bathroom and have the shower on it. Because of all the steam, it set off the smoke detector in the hallway. And, they come through and see if we needed emergency. So everything's been good, we're happy with the system as a whole.

In November we moved from one home to another locally. I contacted Vivint to move our service that already was lackluster. They advised that they could move the service and since I mentioned that I was not impressed with the services I already had, the representative advised that our out of date equipment was probably the cause and he talked me into upgrading with a new 60 month contract. The install date was more than a week away, which was inconvenient, but none the less accepted.
That date arrived and Vivint called to cancel the install. Then proceeded to only offer times that no one was home for the install. I made arrangements to have my daughter to take off work one Friday and got everything scheduled. The install time came and went with no Vivint, so I called and found out that the install was never scheduled. I was furious at this point and was moved to what I was told to be the Customer Loyalty department and they got me an install date and time that was also inconvenient, but offered to have the installer come at the end of the time window (11am-2pm) closer to the 2pm.
I could take off work a little early so it sort of worked. I called a few days prior to the install to make sure nothing was messed up and the representative advised me that a window of 11am-2pm was just that and they could not have the installer come at a certain time. Magically he had an opening for the time frame I had originally requested 2pm-5pm. The installer came out about 3pm and started work. He got the control panel in and quickly put all the sensors up and found that the panel had communication problems, then found that the garage sensor was defective, then I noticed that the panel was not communicating with the door locks correctly. I was also informed that the thermostat that I had on the old system was not listed for the new system and I would have to pay $129 for one because I didn't bring the old one from my old house.
I was told to bring only the control pad for a $50 credit. The installer called and got that corrected, he also advised he would come back Sunday with new components to fix everything that didn't work on the new system. He left at close to 8pm. Not long after I went to bed, then woke up at midnight freezing. The thermostat (Vivint) said the heat was on heating to 72 degrees, but it wasn't. It was cold. So in the middle of the night I am up finding the old thermostat and reinstalling it so we can be warm. I am again left out in the cold by Vivint... Literally.
The only "compensation" I have been offered is a credit for the month that I paid when I didn't actually have service. I expect more from Vivint, but with the service I have had so far, I expect to be canceling my contract and probably being forced into litigation. Would I recommend Vivint to anyone: NO. There have been multiple failures on Vivint's part and I expect nothing but failure from this point on.

I could complain about the sales all day, but the service people who came for the installation were great. And then the service after that has been fine, I haven’t had any issues.

When upgraded, somehow my service premium was reduced to my previous amount. I asked why and was told because I had been a time customer. Now find out it was wrong so premium is going back to original amount, GET IT TOGETHER!

I had good experience with Vivint's sales representatives but I find it difficult to use. If somebody rings my doorbell and I want to see who it is, I have to sign in with my email address and that would take me five minutes to get it done. I would also like to have another panel in my bedroom like what I had with ADT but Vivint said I couldn't have one. I don't want to come down from the third floor of my house to my kitchen in order to arm my home security. I like to do it right from my bedroom where I'm spending my time. ADT gave me an extra panel when I had them and didn't give me any trouble, but Vivint doesn't so I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. I'm about ready to call Vivint and cancel my subscription and will go back to ADT.

First things first. Vivint "installed" my security system, assured me it was checked and operational and it wasn't. If I had not checked everything after they left I would have had no security. None of the glass break sensors or motion sensors work. The only thing operational is the door sensors. I ran all the diagnostic system checks through their panel and found this out.
I then called their phone support and she said as far she could see everything was correct and there was no problem. I insisted she stay on the phone while I ran the system check and then it was clear nothing was working. I asked whether the sensors should have display lights showing when idling. Yes, there should be a green light visible on the sensor units - not one sensor had any light visible. My big question is how can the checks and balances / testing this company have in place allow their install team to leave a customer with an inoperable system? It makes me wonder how many other homes unknowingly have the same problem.
More of the story if you're interested. The install team from Vivint arrived on time (good). First impression then not good. Both installers were 20 something's wearing jeans and t-shirts. I've not got anything against their age necessarily, but they looked very unprofessional - I want to feel that the team installing my alarm which is for the safety of my family is competent (bad). They then asked me what I was having installed. Have the work order at hand people. This was resolved by them calling HQ (bad). They had no ladder or steps to install the equipment and asked me for one. Come prepared.
This is more the fault of the company - equip your people (bad). They installed my glass detectors above doors and they are not correctly centered. Heard of a tape measure. Oh yes, the company did not issue this (bad). The installers were pleasant and friendly (good) but the millennials were not up to the job on this. Maybe, company HQ can splash out for some t-shirts and some form of dress code as well as things like ladders, tape measures and flashlights.
