The system has solid performance and mobile technology. My issue arose when extenuating circumstances caused my family to look at cancellation. Their cancellation policy states some specific items that can cause Vivint to release you from the policy or "other extenuating circumstances". In this case, my wife and I were both laid off following the birth of our child and needed to sell our house to live with family while on the job search. Vivint said this is not an extenuating circumstance and that if we cancelled we would owe over $3,300. Their recommendation was to get on Craigslist to sell my policy to someone else. After looking through reviews it seems getting released from your contract doesn't happen. I would have looked at this company for future homes if it wasn't for how they fumbled this chance to make a long-term customer.

Vivint's sales reps and installation team were very nice and professional. We have their camera at the front door, the fire and carbon things, and the slide doors. Everything is working great. With Vivint, it’s been very peaceful. We also don’t have to run to the door, and we feel secure.

The first few years we had a great experience however as time went on our equipment started having issues. The panel would frequently reboot which would reset all of the thermostat schedules. I eventually had a tech come out and replace the panel. The new panel rebooted as often as the old one but the new issue with the panel was that we couldn't get the app to control the various devices we had. The Z-Wave devices such as the thermostat, lights and cameras worked fine but the door open and shut and arm/disarm no longer worked through the app (iPhone & android or on a pc). What's the point of having a smart security system for your home if you can't even tell if it is armed or not when your away?
I got extremely frustrated with the support and the inability to fix their issue. There were several scheduling failures on their dispatch crew and I finally called to cancel my service. That's when I found out that I inadvertently, somewhere along the lines, renewed the 42-month contract. UGH! So now what? I pay for 2 service contracts because Vivint did not have the customers best interests in mind. A real shame. I called to give them another shot and although they said they can't let me out of contract, they could reduce my bill by $25/month. Alas, my bill is the same as it always was and when I called back to remind them of their promise, they don't seem to have record of our conversation.

I am satisfied with Vivint but my experience with them went sour and I decided to leave. I was already with Vivint for five years and I fulfilled my five-year agreement with them. When I wanted to get a camera, they wanted me to sign another five-year agreement. I wasn't happy with that along with other charges just to have a camera. I spoke to the manager and they weren't helping so I left. As I left, the supervisor called me and wanted to give me all the things that I asked for and by that time it was too late.

I’ve been with ADT since 2008 and we just recently moved to another location. I was going to stay with ADT, but when they came out, they didn’t really offer me anything. Right now, I have a doorbell camera and the cameras inside from Vivint and I'm very satisfied. They've been most top-of-the-line. Jeremiah and his partner were very professional, positive, and got everything done. I ended up cleaning up, but it wasn’t a big deal.
Another thing that I like is the fact that for if you're at home, get the alarm on and forget that you got it on then open a door and set it off and don’t get to the keypad in time, Vivint actually talks to you through the keypad, so you don’t have to worry about trying to find the number to call. They say, “I see an alarm going off. Checking to make sure everything is okay.” You tell them everything’s fine and they ask for your pass code. I love that feature. It is very user-friendly. I have a five-year-old and he pretty much does all the stuff for setting the alarm. He knows how to go through the app to arm the alarm.
The only thing I don’t like about it is that as soon as somebody pulls up to the garage, the chime always goes off. But I’m sure it’s just a feature where you have to go into the system and maybe change the sensitivity. My mother-in-law saw how the setup was, and they were like, “Oh, this is too much,” but now, they have Vivint. You can’t beat it. At $52 a month, I get all those features, the service and the 1-800 number and if I don’t have access to the phone, I can always go online through the chat center. They've taken care of everything.

We had an alarm system then my husband wanted to upgrade so we got Vivint's service package which included a keypad on my front door, a sensor on my garage door, and an access of the system on my phone. Their salesman was very nice. The installation team was really good too and they came the same day that the salesman was here. We just had to wait a little bit for them to finish up another customer down the street from us and they were here within the hour. We were all set up by that night. Every time I’ve called for questions, their reps have been really good. However, I’ve always forgotten to ask how far away can we be able to set the alarm on my phone if we forget to set it. But other than that, everything’s been great so far.

The service techs are very professional. Only negative comment I have is the monitoring fee is a little expensive and frontline support is not very knowledgeable.

I got the security system from Vivint and then bought several home automation features later on. I’m very satisfied with them. I’ve had several interactions with their staff and everything's been positive. They installed the system the first time and I recently called them again to inquire about new features. I got a Vivint system and decided to get some additional services in my package because that's what it made it not your average alarm home monitoring system. The sales rep was good and very knowledgeable. The sales pitch was a bit pushy. I also don't know if that was the sales rep's style or the style of Vivint in general. The house that we have had a pre-existing system, so there were some issues in trying to put the Vivint system in the same spot of the panel. It was a bit complicated. The installation guy was very professional and did troubleshoot a number of different things. He really put in a lot of effort and we appreciated that. I've been very satisfied with their services.

I loved the young lady Priscilla that discussed the opportunity of a Vivint system with us to the people who installed it in a very timely manner and were so polite and cleaned up after themselves, to the customer support when we had questions to the technician that came out and made sure our system was running properly! I was initially contacted by Eric ** as he was canvassing our neighborhood. He explained what he was doing and it piqued my interest since we'd been thinking about a security system due to some break-ins in our neighborhood. I invited him in and he explained exactly what they would install, where they'd install and why they'd put it where they were going to do it. I said we'd do it and asked when they'd be able to do the job. Surprisingly they were able to it that evening. David the installer did a fine job neatly and finished in less than 4 hours. I'm very pleased.

I was charged erroneously and Vivint refused to refund my money. I cancelled my membership in March 2016 by email and called to verify in April 2016. Our contract was up on 5/27/16, but I was charged $73.30 on 5/26. I was told that since the payment was taken on 5/26, they could not and would not refund my payment. I disagreed with this and said I will not pay for an entire month's of service when I received 24 hours or less or service. After refusing again, I am disputing with my bank as this is a HORRIBLE way to do business!

Living in Fishers is great, but I’m a single woman by myself. And so, I decided that, “Hey, why not have some protection?” I had heard a lot about Vivint. In fact, I got it when it was called APX - that’s how long I’ve had Vivint. And I just feel more comfortable with it. I feel a lot safer. They provide signs that you can put in your yard, and little stickers on the window to indicate that this is not where you want to enter. And I just like the idea that the alarm will go off if anything happens, and then, the police will come.
The sales reps and installers are all stellar. It's not just professionalism, but they have a human touch. They don’t just treat you like a number. They’re patient, and they take their time and listen to your questions. And if they can’t solve it, they’ll find someone that can. But, most of the time, all the customer service that I’ve received, everything’s been resolved in that day within minutes. And they also give me updates that’s in the products that they have available for me. I really trust them. ADT tried to seduce me before and offered a plan. They were talking about what they offer versus Vivint and I don’t see it.

On 2 occasions we have been called by our son, as we were heading out to meet with friends. He told us that Vivint had called to say that our house alarm was ringing. On both occasions we returned home to find that the door was locked and the alarm had been turned off by Vivint. Julio contacted us to say that he would come to our house to check out the problem. All seemed to be okay but he installed a new door box to ensure this problem would not occur again.

The Vivint sales rep who came by the house was extremely engaged, definitely knew all their system's features, and are well aware of the features of their closest competitor. They also took care of getting everything installed in a timely manner. For automation purposes and because of the functionality of the touch panel and mobile app in the new system, I switched from my old, landline-based system to have a wireless system. Vivint also offered me a deal to install everything and upgrade most of my equipment for free. The installation team showed me how to use the system, got everything installed as expected and was able to get all of the stuff that was existing from the old system hooked up with the new system and working correctly. It's a good experience and I'm satisfied.

The reason I opened my door to Brooke, the sales lady was that I had seen "Undercover Boss" on television. Anyone who cares about his/her employees that much has to care about Vivint's customers. Even though AT&T wanted to sell me essentially the same system, Vivint's system was all inclusive, and both the sales lady and the technical treated me as an important person. Follow-up is very important to me. Brooke has followed up (today), and is going to follow up at least twice more to ensure I am pleased with the system's capabilities and operation.
I am an Air Force Colonel (retired), and am used to managing up to 500+ people at a time. Also, I am a pilot with over 6500 hours. I understand the importance of having a system easy to operate, and one that is reliable. You seem to have just that. Keep up the good work. The other companies cannot reach the height you have set the bar. I'll spread the word.

I have contacted Vivint 6 times since the beginning of May. My father passed away in March, and I brought my mom to live with me. I purchased the security service while I was living alone and wanted peace of mind while I was at work and the house was empty. Since there is always someone here now, I haven't used the alarm since. When I called to cancel the service, I was told that I was in a contract, but never did get specific details regarding the term. As I do not recall renewing the service, I asked for some proof, either my signature on a contract or to listen to the call where I agreed to the new term. I have had Vivint for years and thought I was in a month-to-month agreement now.
Despite multiple attempts at getting a resolution to my request, I am still paying for this service that I am not using. The closest I got to a resolution was when a rep called me back after "getting authorization" to access the computer that contains the audio files. When she called me back, however, she told me that the computer system was down. I'm tired of calling, waiting on hold, and getting the run-around concerning this issue. I have used this service for years, but this experience has made me feel like Vivint is only interested in collecting my monthly payment, and not in working with me to resolve this issue. I have been with Vivint for over five years and I could not be more satisfied with the Vivint alarm system or its monitoring. I was experiencing some minor problems which were brought to my attention by Vivint, (such as low batteries signals and such). I got an appointment within 2 days and the most efficient, professional, and courteous technician came out and saw to all my needs. I could not be more satisfied. I highly recommend Vivint to anyone who needs alarm protection.

The young man you sent me was very sweet and respectful. Had lots of patience explaining step by step about my alarm and also my phone. I am 78 years old and I understood everything. I have Vivint at my two homes. I have three doors with alarms and fire or smoke alarm service. I’ve been with them for 10 years and so far, the service has been great. Back then, it wasn’t Vivint - it was Apex, and the sales guy brought with him a lot of information. As far as the installation people, I had no problems. They got everything installed. Everyone’s been great.

My name is Mark **. I have been with Vivint for 9 years and recently had problems with my home security to where I needed tech support. I called them with the alarm codes explaining my problems so they offered to send a tech out to fix the matter at hand. I talked with them on what it was doing and they listened and responded that they were willing to help get someone there right away. And right before the conversation ended with them offering a scheduled date they asked if I was interested in resigning for an additional 3 years because I was out of contract... I said "well let's get my alarm fixed quickly like you offered and I will consider another contract because I have been with you for this long already."
Then I got slapped in the face with a crappy response of quote: "Well sir it's gonna take a week or so to get anyone out to service your alarm." I was shocked and asked "why suddenly are you not interested in protecting my home and family because I would not resign a verbal contract over the phone?" I talked with them almost begging for a sooner appointment than a week and they said "sorry sir we just don't have anything available." So I don't resign so my house is now unprotected while I'm still paying. I don't think so Vivint.
So I desperately agree to their terms and in 4 days a tech was supposed to show up and fix it. And a tech leaves a tag on my door saying he was there knocking from 8:28 AM TO 8:50 AM. There was 4 people in the house at that time and there is no way-- possible WAY all of us did not hear him knock. Just another lie because I didn't resign with your unprofessional business tactics. I trusted Vivint to protect my family and home and Vivint let us down deeply and destroyed my trust in them. So this is my way of encouraging everyone to stay away from this company and anything that say Vivint. PS I strongly suggest you read all of these complaints... I wish I would have. :(

I will say first off I have not purchased anything from this company and I likely will not! Why? All entrances to my neighborhood are clearly marked with No Solicitation signs and yet three teams of Vivint employees have been going door to door through my neighborhood Soliciting for Vivint's service. Of all companies I would think a security company would understand the dangers and reasons for a no solicitation rule. But not Vivint as they blatantly disregarded the neighborhood's wishes. Worse, though they had ID badges displayed when asked for a business card or flyer with Vivint's information - the gentleman stated they do everything on a tablet and could not provide paper copies. Before writing this I checked with a friend who recently purchased a security system from Vivint and they said they were originally approached in the same manner.
Again, I cannot speak to the value or performance of the equipment or service. I can say when a company does not abide by the simplest of rules I will not trust them to abide by any rules, including those they themselves may state, especially when they cannot or will not provide any written documentation at the time a purchase is made. And NO, a document emailed after the fact is not sufficient as it may not state the same things or may contain exclusions not provided at the time of purchase.

I got Vivint three years ago and I’m not really happy with what I’m paying for. I don’t have windows that go up and down. I’ve only got one sliding window downstairs, a sliding door, front door and something else that’s armed, and a small window on my basement because my condo is structured very differently. I’m paying a lot for that, which is fine. But then I asked about cameras and that was another huge price. I’m moving in about five months to Jacksonville, Florida and I will not be taking the security device with me since I have ADT in Florida with my ex-husband who’s a police officer. This with ADT was from eight years ago and we had cameras and everything else.
Vivint's service is great, though. They’re trimming the trees and the vibration must’ve set off the alarm, which is fine because I was home. I thought when we were installing the cameras and the motion sensors that actually opening the window would set the alarm off but it's not because it's the vibration, and to me, that’s very discouraging. And so I’m not going to spend any more money on getting the sensors installed or getting anything else changed. But the customer service has all been great, outstanding and exemplary. I’ve got family out in Oklahoma and I know a lot of people in the Midwest, and Vivint has all been so wonderful. It’s a lot for the little things that I’m paying for but it’s not a bad product.

Vivint is a great company. We got the camera, doors, home automation and alarm in our service package and we're greatly satisfied with them. There's just a couple of hiccups here and there, especially once you move since you're already locked in a contract. If you ever get this done after moving, it’s a hassle. But other than the moving issues, we don’t have any problems with them. They respond fast even on false alarms, so we’ll probably be there for the long run.

We just had a Vivint Security/Automation installed this evening. We have just began to play around with all the settings but we wanted to review the Vivint Team Members that did the sales and install of our system. We had Sheldon as our sales rep and Kaden as our installer and both were excellent. They were friendly, knowledgeable and both seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. The install was quick and clean and we were ran through the system. Everything was demo'ed and we were given contact numbers in case of questions or issues. If the system works as well as the people we dealt with I am sure we will be life-long customers. Good job Vivint on putting a focus on hiring great people!

I signed up for Vivint and have all my doors and windows done in the package I got from them. The sales representative was nice and then the installation team was good and professional. I was also able to access my alarm system with the phone app. Everything is working the way it’s supposed to. They’ve been pretty good.

The sales representative from Vivint was amazing. There was just a few things I was a little frustrated with. I have solid oak doors and they drilled a hole in it to put the sensor in the door. I wished they would have said, "Hey, do you mind if we do this?" because they have ones that glue to the door rather than drilling into a solid oak door. I also not let them drill into my walls so they put a molding for the cord to run through to plug in, which was okay, except that it was super crooked so I redid it. When I have a problem, they get right on it, but I've had problems where I've walked into my house with my alarm alarmed three times now and it doesn't trigger anything. So somebody could break into my house and be stealing everything with the alarm on. But Vivint fixed it and gave me a month free so they're trying. This is my first alarm system so it's a learning experience.

First off, to readers of this review, I am sorry for my grammar throughout. I was at work and in a hurry to post this while on my lunch. Vivint Smart Home sales rep shows up at my house and was very friendly. That is the only good thing I experienced. The rest was horrible. Sales rep went through his stuff and naturally I was interested because home automation sounds cool. Well we get to the 3-day cancellation form and other crap and while going through it he kept saying the words "extension" and "extra days". At this point I was trying to keep my big dog from constantly jumping on him and keeping my daughter from doing anything stupid and getting hurt (she is 2 so need to keep an eye out for her). Well sales rep took advantage of that and kept saying "extension" and "few extra days for weekend" and we will worry about the extension later, that basic form is 3 day and extension would come later.
Well later come and we do an extension thing where he needs a check. After and even before extension thing, because the tech was there and I wanted the sales rep to clarify and I was making sure I understood everything, and also to fill my wife in when she got home. I asked the sales rep multiple times, upwards of 5 times, "If my wife and I decide we don't want Vivint at all and we want to cancel before being locked into anything, and without being charged, I have till May 18th 2016 to call or do whatever needed to cancel?" Sales rep each time said "YES THAT IS CORRECT." Even had the rep write down on his little sheet that he left with me to explain things to my wife about the extension and he did. So I call on the 12th to cancel even though I thought we had till the 18th to do that, but since we were going to be out of town that weekend and I just didn't want to forget I made sure to call in advance.
When I call I was informed that I am calling a day late and that the extension bull crap wasn't true. Well my first call was while I was at work so I didn't have my paperwork in front of me so the customer service rep says "Well since you don't have any evidence to prove otherwise we can't help you and to cancel you have to buy out your contract." That I have had for all of one day at the total of $4,200. I told the rep "I don't have that much because I just bought my house 2 months prior and honest to god I don't have $4,200 just lying around, that all of my money went into my new house."
So he says "Let me call your sales rep and we can have a 3-way call." So we get my sales rep on the phone and at first he says everything should be fine to cancel, but then the customer service rep butts in and says "No he needed to cancel yesterday not today because even though he said something about an extension I told him there is nothing in his paperwork that says that." So then the sales rep says "Oh wait, you're right" and he starts making up an excuse for how the extension was only for the payment not the contract. That is where I jumped in and stated that when the sales rep was at my house he didn't state that the May 18th extension was only for the payment and, that when I asked him about cancellation anytime between the install date and the 18th before being locked into a contract and each time he said "Yes that is fine."
So at this point it is an argument between me and the sales rep until finally the customer service rep had the sales rep hang up then. (Call was being recorded I should add.) We continue the call and he says "Well now that we have the just the sales rep stating that he never said anything about an extension of the contract just the payment date you are still going to have to pay $4,200." I told the rep that was bull and that I don't have the money and he said it wasn't his problem. I then asked if it says in the contract that "It is OK to confuse and lie straight to your customer's face" and again the service rep says "Sir we have it recorded that the sales rep said he didn't do that." I then asked what about the recording of me at that same time stating that, that was exactly what he did. Service rep just said "Sir we have him on record." Then all the rep kept saying was "We have him on record" and "You have to buy out your contract."
At this point I was mad as hell because this company is telling me that to cancel I have to buy a piece of paper they could easily rip up for $4,200 or keep the service and make monthly payments to them instead of making sure my family has food or clothes, or even a roof over their heads. Vivint is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I strongly recommend that anybody thinking about home automation or security to not go with Vivint unless you want to be lied to and taken advantage of for $4,000 or more. You can honestly buy your own security and home automation stuff for cheaper and maybe find a handyman at your local church willing to put it up for you.
Vivint sucks. Please I want everybody to know how evil and crappy this company is, and I am using choice words because if I could describe how horrible they really were and still are being, my review would be taken down in 5 min for graphic and imagery and language. Please people I beg you. Read this and understand they don't really care about your protection or anything else. All they care about is how can we lie and make some get locked into a 5-year contract.
Side note: After having Vivint at my house. The weekend we went out of town my wife's bike was stolen from our front porch, which is weird. It got stolen right after Vivint came to my house because my wife's bike sat there for 3 to 4 months without it being stolen or anything else on the front porch. Another Side note: The tech didn't know how to use a flex bit and drilled a hole right through my exterior wall, and now Vivint is trying to rush me into accepting a claim before I can have a professional come out and look at it.

We had been discussing to get a security system because we live in Niagara Falls, New York which is not the safest community in the world. I really wanted to do this then, lo and behold, the Vivint salesman was making his rounds in the neighborhood and we invited him in to explain to us how a security system works, how the monitoring works, and what parts of our house could be protected. The young man was very informative and helpful. It sounded exactly what we're looking for so we signed up and here we are many years later. We have the door protections and the motion detector inside the house and we've been quite happy with what we have.
We have not upgraded, however, we got an email saying that there was a key fob that was available where you could disarm from your vehicle and I would have wanted to upgrade to that because being where we live, sometimes when I get home from work, I may not want to go directly in the house. I may want to go into the driveway and hit the snow shovel. But I have to go in the house, turn the alarm off, then I have to go back out to the garage. At that time, the key fob was like $100 but I can't coerce the other member of the group to fork over the dough for it.
Other than that, we've been very pleased with the performance and the response when the alarm has gone off. It was more than I expected. The alarm has gone off one time and scared the creepers out of us, but the police responded, reassured us and we felt great about that. All the other times that the alarm has gone off where Vivint has contacted us are usually when I've had a relative house-sitting our pets for us and they've messed up the keypad.

The Vivint sales rep that we dealt with was pleasant, very polite and professional. He talked us into getting the system so we bought the doorbell camera, which I liked because I can see who's at the door without going to opening it, and the fire alarm that doesn't go off with just smoke, which is wonderful. We have the Life Alert wristband too. Their installation team went through the house to see where they would place things to help with break-ins and they said the living room was protected by the lanai. So they had a window breakage unit in the lanai and it's amazing that all the windows in the lanai plus the living room window that faces it would be protected by this one unit.
I feel much more comfortable especially during the night. Even with the dogs that we have, if someone managed to get in, they could still do damage. My husband had actually thought about discontinuing it because it’s an extra bill, but I told him that we are not discontinuing it because it makes me feel safe. We did have accidental door openings while the alarm was on and it teaches me to think before I open the door. I've had wonderful response on the unit itself whenever it goes off and the Vivint people are on there and would want to know if everything’s all right. Vivint’s an excellent service and I’m completely satisfied.

I'm not really happy with Vivint as our alarm system, but I'm okay with it. The problem is that the reps don't know what they're doing. They said the camera was gonna work with my system. It did not, so they made me upgrade which I had to pay for. Then, we got some more cameras and those cameras didn't work with the system as well. They said that it was with the wrong camera, so they had to take out my cameras again. Every single time they put a camera, they're putting holes in my wall. So they put new cameras in and eventually, they got them to work.
They're monitoring three of my buildings and if I have to go to a fourth building, I probably wouldn't use them just because they don't really know what they're doing. I would have never had Vivint prior to the people that had them. But there was a guy who was sent out who was pretty nice. When the installation team came out, he did the work that they gave him. But they didn't give him everything, which was really not his fault. And he had to come back again when they finally gave him everything.

The sale guy was not pushy and worked around my work schedule to come sit down to see what would best fit my home and price range. He explained everything thoroughly, and was very professional. He got the installation team at my home within the hour after I decided to switch to Vivint, which was great, so I did not need a second appointment time. The installation team set everything up within 2 hours, and cleaned up after drilling in the walls. Before leaving they explained all the new equipment and how to use the app, so when they left I was confident to use my new system. Besides having a great Vivint team, all the equipment and installation was free! All they required was my first month payment. I already recommended Vivint to 2 people and I have not even had the system for a full 24 hours! Definitely worth it!

Great customer service, great company! I have their alarm system with a smoke detector, door monitors, and a camera monitor and absolutely love the service so far. The installer was very professional, had given some advice on monitoring systems, and had worked it with the smoke detectors. He had someone with him that was in-training and they had a lot of respect for each other. And so far, everything has been great. We’ve had a couple of fire alarms go off – they were false. And each time that I’ve talked to a few reps, they were very courteous and very knowledgeable about the alarm systems.

First heard about Vivint from my neighbor who had a system installed. My wife had wanted a security system for a couple of years, but we never went bold with it until recently, and I'm very satisfied with Vivint. Their price is reasonable, the system is of good quality and the set up was fantastic. The installation team did a good job and they were very good and neat. When I had a couple of questions when the system was being installed, I called and they came the next day and answered my questions. Although we've been having false alarms from the motion detector in the living room when my family and I were on vacation and my neighbor was taking care of our cat. Maybe he was doing something incorrectly. But since I've been home, it's been okay.

I had no problems with Vivint until I went to cancel. I phoned in to cancel and they told me that I would have to submit my cancellation notice by email. Fine, I submitted it by email but then get an email saying I had to phone in. So I phone in and they said there was a 30 day notice. Again, I was fine even with that. I notified them on April 29 so I would expect them to only bill me until May 29. My billing cycle is the 25th. So imagine my surprise when they withdrew another full month. I called them to get it sorted out and get my money back but they said it was company policy not to refund it. THEY ARE CROOKS.

We used to have ADT. Then, Vivint came to the neighborhood. In the service package, the alarms and glass breakage features are included so that I don't have to shoot somebody in the middle of the night. Working with the sales rep was good. At first, the installation team had little problems getting everything to work and then they had to come back the next day but the installation all worked out. Sometimes I forget to start off the alarm in the morning. I let the dog out and Vivint calls right away. Plus, I needed a new sign and the other key fob got smashed in the winter time and they sent me a new key fob with no charge, so that was good.

I have two smart home feature package from Vivint, as well as two motion sensors, the glass break, and all the doors. The former homeowner had the service, and even though he took the equipment with him, I still continued the service. But two of my rooms are not protected at all with Vivint, and I have talked to them about it. It's going to cost even more if I'm going to do it, which is quite unacceptable to me. It needs more equipment. They don't offer enough equipment and it's an outrageous price to do it. But I knew I needed a security system and I like the sound of Vivint at first. But after doing research and after I have Vivint, I don't like the features that I have with them. I really don't like Vivint at all.
In the beginning, I called them and asked how much it would be, and I thought that was a great price so I got into the contract with them. And then six days after I have the installation done, I started looking into the security system and I realized that I'm paying way too much for what I've been getting for the device. I then called them up. I figured that like most companies they have a 30-day money back guarantee but now with Vivint, it's only three days and nobody mentioned that in the beginning. So, they scammed me there. They don't give you any time to try out their system and you're locked into your contract as soon as those three days are up without paying for the rest of your contract.
They didn't disclose that information to me. According to the law, they're supposed to but that doesn't mean they always follow the law. It made me really unhappy and I've even called them to try to cancel, but they wouldn't do it. They lowered my price by about $10, but that was all they would do for me. I would not recommend them to anybody and honestly, everything they did, you can do it yourself for a fraction of the price. In the end, it's going to be around $3,000 with Vivint, whereas you can do it yourself and have basic monitoring for around $500.

Vivint provides a more upscale security you can appreciate... with newer but more user friendly equipment than other companies. I was looking to get a camera for my house because my son put a doorbell camera on his house for a certain price. Since I’ve been with Vivint for a long time already, I was wondering if they’d do the same thing for me because I pay the same price. But Vivint said they didn’t have them yet and will take two weeks before they'd have them. So, I’m still waiting for them to install. Other than that, everything is great.

Our experience with Vivint so far has been excellent. Will was our salesperson. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our installer was Jake, and he worked well with Will. He arrived early. He was able to answer all of my questions. He demonstrated a team player behavior. He was polite, cordial and willing to get the job done. He made sure all connections were working (even though my home was a mess). He offered a workable solutions to placing the camera even though the house was built in the 70's quickly and efficiently. A Vivint sales rep visited my front door and I got interested in what he said. The experience was positive but I didn’t agree with it right away. I wanted to check it out, do my Googling, find out about the legitimacy of the organization. Then I called their rep and he knew what he was talking about. I got their thermostat control, camera, and a motion detector which I changed to a window detector several months ago. The guy that installed the system did a good job. The last rep I spoke with on the phone was extremely cordial and knowledgeable and I was impressed. I like the idea that if I go for a walk, I come back, I just take my phone out and open and close the door. Also, I'd check the system box and check what the temperature is outside which is easy. Stuff happens and people occasionally have break-ins so I feel better that I have the system.

I looked at what Vivint had to offer compared to ADT, which I already had, and made a decision to go with the former. I have all the current electricals so I didn't get the carbon monoxide from Vivint, but I do have their fire protection. Transitioning to Vivint was hard due to lack of communication with their personnel. One person started it and could not complete it. Another technician came out but did not have the proper tools and equipment. I, nevertheless, did have a few months free because of that. Overall, I'm happy with Vivint. I'm just a little disappointed with their price compared to some other systems in my area that offer the same tools. I have recommended the Vivint system but I do tell people upfront that there are some cheaper systems.

It’s been three years ago since I got Vivint and I like the results with them. I've called them many times and they‘ve taken care of the problem each time. They have been very good. My only problem is that I keep getting messages that something’s wrong with the box on the wall and they have to call in. Also, many times I come in the front door and my buzzer won’t go off. So that bothers me. I’m out on the road and don’t have time for me to stay or have somebody come over, so I haven’t had any time to have it fixed. But Vivint has been a reactive company. I’d recommend them.

When we had the salesman come into our home we were excited about the product. When we signed the paperwork he failed to mention it was a 5 year contract. We were in a rental home at the time 3 years ago. Now we want to cancel the service but have to pay $1500 to get rid of it. We are actually paying for someone else to use this system because they don't want to take it over. We have paid over $1800 and have to pay another $1500 to cancel. This is absolutely a ripoff. I know we have paid for the equipment several times over. Just beware when you sign because it's for 5 years.

I moved into a new house and wanted a camera and so far, Vivint's service has been good. Their sales rep was knowledgeable. My back camera wasn't working so he recalled it and got a new one. He told me I didn't need to worry about it and that he'll make sure everything works before he leaves from there. He explained all the information over to me and when my wife came home, he went through the whole thing over with her as well. With the system, I can access my cameras and lock-unlock my house online from my smartphone. Overall, great product, pricing, and service which I was impressed with. I have referred Vivint to two of my neighbors.

I have a sore feeling with Vivint because their installation never fully completed. We're missing a garage door sensor that I paid for and my request for some cameras to be installed on the back and the front of the house was never fulfilled. From that point, I lost my confidence with Vivint. I never got a callback stating that it's not off of back order or if they have more cameras in. If they had, I would definitely have bought it and if they installed it, that's additional money right there for labor. Now that I'm trying to sell the house, I'm not interested in any of those things anymore. It's up to the person who's buying the house as to what service they're going to get from Vivint. The console is fine and the application on the phone works great, but the preliminary introduction and installation were never followed up on. Vivint definitely needs to address that.

I have had a difficult time getting Vivint to work with auto pay. I have gotten behind due to that issue and they have worked with me to get caught up. The systems all work perfectly in my home.

I needed security being a single 65 year old woman so I purchased the Vivint system. One time a 20 year old 275 lbs. guy walked in my house without me knowing and the system didn't record it. I was ready to cancel it until the Vivint service guy came and showed me so much more stuff that I didn't know were in the system. He was great. Still, I am not at all happy with Vivint as they are the most expensive there is. I'm paying $60 a month compared to $39.95 that others have advertised on TV.

I purchased a package from Vivint which includes the security window, doors and an alarm system, thermostat and camera. It was cheaper than the one I had from ADT so I went with it. So far, the service has been excellent. The technician support was very good. They're very informative and they helped me with answering my questions. Moreover, installation went smoothly. The installers installed it, explained it and everything was fine. They did it all in one day. I would recommend them to other people because of their customer service. It's been a great and excellent experience.

I was told I was signing a work authorization. In reality I was signing a contract. Something that I stated I did not want to be under or participate in Numerous times and even as I signed what I thought was a work authorization for the installation of equipment. It was supposed to be on a month by month basis (as I only needed it for 8 months). Even when it came to the phone call he told me he would make the adjustment to the contract to make it month by month. I'm now locked in to a 42-month contract costing well over $2000.00. (Btw, the contract automatically renews itself once expired unless you write in and tell them to stop the renewal). Something I did not want or need. Do not sign a contract with this company. You can get the same service and "deal" they offer on a month by month basis with a different company. My experience with Vivint... Dirty, underhanded, sneaky, bold faced lies. Don't sign up with company.

At the end of our customers' initial agreement term, their account goes into month-to-month service (as opposed to renewing the agreement automatically) unless a written cancellation request is received. What a great experience. Even though there were a few hiccups with some things at installation. My installer got things corrected fast and even came on his day off to finish the job. He went way beyond the job description and finished the job. He was very friendly and professional. I love Vivint and my new system. I feel safe and can trust my system to protect my home.

I love our VIVINT home security system. It is really nice to be able to check on our home while we are away. The only thing I would improve is the speed of the app. When someone rings our doorbell I am at our door answering it before it loads the video of who it is on my phone.

We purchased our house at the time and crime is going up in our area, so we have a motion detector and the door alarms from Vivint. It's been good, but our initial setup was not great. The girl spent three and a half hours putting two door locks and two window sensors and they still didn't work right. She put a window sensor on an un-opening window in the middle of my living room. She was totally inept at what she was doing. They also didn't tell us half the stuff that we needed to know so I wasn't very happy with that.
After that though, it was good. The service guy that used to be our neighbor at the other place we lived in came out and was great and the last guy that came was really good as well. They explained a whole bunch of stuff and were a lot better than the initial people. Maybe, they must give better training for the people that come door-to-door and install. Also, I wish there was a bit more functionality in the system that we have. I don't think our current control panel lets us be able to set the temperature and the schedule, but I don't want to pay for an upgrade right now. Aside from those, Vivint is a good system overall.

The Vivint guys were going door-to-door back then and I invited one of the supervisors in and told him that the unit that I had was outdated. I told him if they met the price, I’d switch over. He was a little bit over but they took care of it and offered me those door things where I can open the door with just putting in the code. I can control the system no matter where I’m at - the temperature, who comes in and out. Once in a while I call for certain things and they’re very helpful. Then yesterday they sent me a message on my system that there were some people that are going door-to-door offering security systems, to be on the lookout for people that are not honest, that say they’re from Vivint but aren't. They let me know what's going on any time something happens. My neighbor across the street got it too and they’ve had it as long as I have and we’re both happy with it.

Vivint was doing door-to-door and offered free installation. I purchased the security system, thermostat, carbon monoxide and smoke detector, and the alarm on the garage door so that when I'm in the house and even if my alarm is off, I'll still know if somebody goes inside the house because it will say the garage door is open. The installer answered all my questions and downloaded and showed me how to use the app to control the thermostat on my phone. Recently, I needed a new thermostat because the prongs at the bottom that holds the batteries in broke off. Vivint sent somebody out and he came out at the time they said. Every time people from Vivint come out, they've always been very professional and informative. They know what they're talking about and what they're doing.
I feel safer and confident when I leave the house. I recommended Vivint to my sister and she ended up getting the alarm system. When I moved, Vivint reinstalled the alarm system for nothing. However, when I asked for another sign because my yard is so big and I wanted to put it way in the back so it covers the people coming in from that way, I was told the signs are $15. It would be nice if they can provide an extra sign when moving.

We had our home broken into so we got Vivint's security system. The sales guys were nice and very helpful. The installers put in the camera doorbell, the door sensors and the motion sensor inside. They've been great and very helpful too. I now have a smartphone so I have to figure out how to download the app on my phone. On the other hand, there’s a little light on the door pad on the inside. It’s green when you don’t have it locked and it’s red when it’s locked and it blinks. It goes out all the time and we’ve changed the batteries several times. We’re having to change the batteries a lot in order to get that to work. Other than that, everybody at Vivint has been very informative and polite. I really like the service and my experience has been great.

We previously had Slomin's Shield but we liked the idea that Vivint was wireless - that we're not relying on the telephone lines. If one cuts the telephone line, the other system would have failed. But Vivint does not rely on that. The installation team was very cordial and friendly. They were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. However, I find that it's quite expensive for what we have. Moreover, the front and side doors have the combination lock and the batteries run down quickly and need to be changed often.

Hi. We got our system install. Love it. Very happy. Our tech was fantastic but did leave a mess of sawdust from drilling. Granted he was here till 11 pm but should of been swept up. Other than that he was fantastic and knew what he was talking about and was great.

I’m very satisfied with the services of Vivint. They’re really good. There were a couple of times I set off the smoke alarm because of the cooking or burning incense and they called immediately. And also one time, I didn’t know that I had a raccoon in the basement. I came back home and I couldn’t see it at first and then I heard it moving around and saw it downstairs. The system picked up the movement and it was confirmed that there was something down there. Vivint was accurate about it.
I haven’t had any problem with our old alarm system but I just wanted the update to be able to have monitoring through the iPhone and cameras. I have my camera put right where my dog sits, so when I’m gone, I can check to see how she’s doing. Back then, ADT didn’t have it and that was the reason why I wanted to switch to Vivint. ADT have cameras but it's not an alarm.
Also, the installer of Vivint was really cool. He did the installation in 45 minutes and some of the stuff he had to put in was a new install. Eventually, when I get my garage cleaned, I want to install one of those cameras out there. I also like the fact that I can add additional devices with Vivint. I've recommended Vivint to people but I live in a real bad area and most people would go with Vivint but they just don't have the money to do it.

We were unhappy with the security service that we had and we’re looking for something new. Vivint guys came to our house on a walk-by so they came at the right time. They have an awesome sales team and good installers. We had them install the doorbell camera and motion detectors. I had a problem with the apps for Blackberry at the time but all have been fixed. They have a good service and they're a great company to deal with. I'm satisfied.

Vivint's installation guys were good. They showed me everything about the system. I purchased the thermostat, front door lock, back door and window sensors, smoke, and glass breakage. I'm all into home automation and I like the setup better than just the regular security system. The service has been very good. The only problem we've had was a backdoor sensor. They shipped one out and I still had a little trouble with it. But then they shipped another one out and then we worked through it. It took about an hour, found out it was on their end, but everything was good after that. I'm very happy with Vivint's service and with the technical support.

Only problem was that smoke alarm would come on every 4 or 5 hours every day even though service was scheduled 4 or 5 days before service on 5-16-16 at 4 p. m. I had called & was told that the alarm was shut off until detectors were replaced. I didn't want to call back & wait almost an hour before I could talk to a HUMAN BEING! My wife, dog & I were aggravated with the alarms & had to wait until the smoke detector were replaced!

I've been with Vivint for six years and I have the camera and door lock from them. When I have calls, they’ve been there for help. Right now, I need somebody to go check my doorknobs because I already put new batteries and they don’t want to work. But overall, it's been good and I'm very satisfied with them.

I got camera, window break, temperature control, and a medical alert pendant from Vivint. I got it because my mother-in-law has been sick and she's been in and out of the hospital. She comes and stays with us every now and then. We thought it might come in handy with her. It eases our mind. Also, it didn't take long for the installation guy to put everything in. We already had Vivint in this house when we bought it, and we just upgraded the package. We had to call customer service for the batteries and they were very helpful. The only thing we’re having a problem with is when the doorbell rings to our phones, there’s about a five-to-ten-minute delay. I don’t know if it’s the system or if it’s our phone. But still, Vivint has been excellent.

Vivint was good from the get-go, from the salesman that stopped at our house to service reps to when the alarm went off because I forgot to shut it off before I came in. Their installation team stayed to work really late to get everything setup. The app has a nice feature. I work almost 20 miles away from where I live and I can arm and disarm the system from where I'm at. I also like the tornado warning because our weather alert radios our city's alarm system don't always work. I've recommended it to several people. There's a lot of people in our town that have it now since we started with it.

Over the last 4 weeks I have attempted to resolve a false alarm which occurred on occasion at my front door sensor. After four calls and Vivint sending a new sensor the problem still existed. Talking with the last technician I asked for a tech visit to my home. I was initially told this would cost $99.00, but was finally told they would waive the fee. Tech visited the home and was able to resolve the problem. I did have to call and have a duplicate front door sensor eliminated from my system, but overall we are very happy with the service Vivint has offered.

After signing up for Vivint Home Security, we were not told the system conflicted with the Internet company we had (AT&T). A few techs came out to try and fix the problem and they tried to do it over the phone but we ended up having to switch to another internet provider so it wouldn't disconnect 50 times a day. Everything was working fine after that.
We set up installation for a few cameras and were told to have a check ready for installation because they couldn't put it on the bill. I had the check ready and when the guy came to install them, he said he couldn't do it unless we had a crawl space in between the 1st and 2nd floors. 2 months later, they billed me and automatically deducted the price of install and 2 month of service for the cameras. My husband called and was hung up on by the customer service rep. He called back again and was placed on hold for over 30 minutes and he finally hung up.
I called and was on the phone for 45 minutes. I was promised I would get a refund in 2 days. I called back 2 weeks later when I still hadn't received a refund and was told it could take 3 weeks. I called back after 3 weeks and was told it wasn't processed right. The next month's bill came and they deducted the monthly charge for the cameras AGAIN!!! I called and was told it would be refunded in 2 days. I have called multiple times since and still haven't received my refund. Today, again, they have promised me a refund in 2 days. I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm sure I will be charged again for the cameras that I don't have.

I purchased a package from Vivint which included a doorbell camera, inside sensor, glass breaking sensor and door sensors. It was the best package deal at the time. When I called due to an issue, the sales rep was able to help me. He got me to the other personnel so I can get all the adjustments needed. The installers were also very polite, efficient and did a good job. I've been pretty satisfied with the service so far, even though I had a few issues at first. But as soon as I made them aware of it and was ready to deal with them, they were all dealt with promptly.

Every time my contract comes up for renewal, they offer me features and more items to include in my $50 a month contract. We've had several issues with their equipment, but they came out to service it and our interactions have been pretty good. They're very helpful and showed up in a timely manner. In general, the people at Vivint have been very knowledgeable and they answer questions. There’s never any question on their identity - they come up in an orange and white truck, and they’re in uniform. You never have to wonder who this person works for, which is kind of nice nowadays. We got the fire alarm, two window alarms and the door alarm from Vivint. We had Brink's before but everything was pretty expensive, and the salesman from Vivint came and gave us a deal. We could get two free services with the installation so we picked those ones. The sales rep was very professional. He's probably the only sales person I can remember that actually got off my porch after he knocked on my door and wasn't in my face. So that was huge for me. It was installed the same day that I got it. The team was doing a neighborhood sweep and did great.
The only problem I had was I had a speaker box up in the corner of my living room that they were not able to connect to the system for some reason. So the only alarm I had had actually come from the alarm panel itself by my door and it's never been an issue. It's loud. So far, the service is great and I love it. I've never had any issues with them whatsoever. Also, Vivint is very quick whenever the alarm goes off.

The package that we got includes a doorbell camera, two cameras and three sensors, motion sensors plus door sensors. The install was great. We just called and they sent somebody out to install it. He was clean, professional, went through the system with me and answered all my questions. Anybody that I deal with from Vivint is very personable.
When the doorbell rings, it takes forever to send a signal to look and see who's at my doorbell, and by the time I do, they're gone. It's not a fast response and we have fast servers through Verizon. So, very unhappy with that because if I get an alarm, I want to see who was there. Also, the batteries on the front door don't seem to last long enough. I hope they have a more powerful battery even if we had to pay more for it. I'd like to replace them every year or nine months rather than four. One time, somebody came out on a call and we were charged $25 for it and it was the system that made it do that. But since somebody came out, they can't do anything about it. Aside from that, everything else is fine.

They have summer crews that travel around selling a product they then service only during the summer. I have had 2 different outages of 6 months and 4 months. When I tried to cancel they say "buy out the contract or we turn you in to collections."

Vivint caused me a whole lot of money. When I first got the Trane, a heating system, they had a lot of young technicians come over. They hooked up the system wrongly. Their box (as far as heating or thermostat) wasn't compatible with my system. Vivint even told me that those guys were trainees. They were just really going by color code. Red to red, white to white and so on and so forth. They didn't know it and it almost caused me about $1,600. I paid $100 fee for insurance fee but it happened twice so I ended up paying the heating and air conditioning place again. I tried to get them to pay but they said, "No, we paid it once. We pay it no more." That went on and it took me probably about half a year to get $100 out of them.
Aside from that, I am satisfied with Vivint because their quick response is really a good deal. The Vivint system sometimes goes off without a notice and something might have happened like the wind blowing. They will call (the people are real nice) and I like that. I appreciate them also for the security, as far as calling and making sure that everybody is okay.

I got the alarm pad, 24-hour security, motion detectors, glass break and smoke sensor from Vivint and it's been excellent. Their sales rep was very clear and understanding. He explained everything and made a few modifications. I was accommodated and he followed up. Their installation team was also professional, thorough and taught us how the stuff works. We completed our contract and signed up for another two or three years for monitoring. I have no complaints.

The salesman from Vivint set up an appointment to meet with us. He came in, talked to us about the system and its features and asked what we needed and what we'd be interested in. We purchased the package that has glass break, door sensors and doorbell camera. Their sales, installation guy and call center have been helpful and courteous. The installation guy came in, did the installation, and showed us the system. He was clean and professional. We're satisfied with Vivint.

I got the window and door sensors, glass break sensor and the panel because I like to know what door is being opened and who's opening it even if I'm here. The reps were professional and knowledgeable. They pretty much gave me what would satisfy me. I made sure that every windows and doors had a sensor. At first they said, “Well, it only comes with the ones that we offered you but don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of that for you at no extra charge,” and they did. So that was wonderful. The installers were nice, knowledgeable, professional and fast.
I've never had a problem with Vivint and I'm happy with the service. I love the features. They give me the peace of mind when I’m not here. Vivint responds quickly if there's an accidental alarm, which we usually do. We forget that the alarm is set and we open the door. The response is fantastic. I don't plan on going to any other alarm company.

I asked the sales reps a lot of questions so that I can be aware of what the system is and they were able to answer everything. I'm very satisfied with Vivint's service. I sometimes make mistakes by not taking the time to come in and turn off the alarm, and they respond quite quickly. I'm an elderly person and they have patience with me when I ask maybe dumb questions. They clarify every aspect of my question so it satisfies me.

The people from Vivint came in and taught us so much. We have the cameras, the motion doors that tell us which door is being opened and the monitor for the alarm, that also tells us the weather outside. The installation team was friendly, helpful and they did what worked out better for me. When I didn't know where to put the system to monitor the alarm, they suggested where and they explained why. They were awesome and great in explaining everything. The only problem is they're not local. However, whenever there's something that has happened, not just when the alarm goes off, Vivint calls us and takes care of the problem right away no matter how far they came from.
Ever since the last technician from Vivint came in, everything was fantastic. The only thing I am not crazy about are these cameras. They're working properly but I just don't know how to record if I need to or if there is a function that you can record throughout the day or if you can go back and see what happened that day. We had a break-in two years ago during the Easter Sunday and we were in the church. They didn't take anything because the alarm probably scared them when it went off.

The Vivint rep, Angel did a great job updating my new panel and replacing the sensors. His work was fast and experienced. He also took time to familiarize me with the new features. My only disappointment was that the doorbell transducer that I presently have is not compatible to your camera doorbell. I have had the system in my home for 3 years and have had to have most of the system disabled to stop the system from malfunctioning and calling the police or fire department. At this point I'd just assume the house burn down.

Our Vivint service package includes a couple of automation. We have a thermostat, front door lock and then we have a glass break center, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. We needed these features since we’re in a remote location. When I found Vivint online, I got called and then got set up with somebody who came out, showed me what was there and then they came back for an installation about a month later. The person who came to install knew what he was doing. He was efficient and did his thing. The system is working fine like it’s expected to do. Overall, I've had a great experience with Vivint.

Vivint is a really good company. There's an alarm service, camera monitoring, and temperature control in the service package I got from them. It was for the overall convenience and safety that I needed these features because I have a child. So far, the service has been great. The sales rep was professional, explained the system's features to me, and made sure I understood. The installers were also professional and identified themselves. They explained everything in detail -- what goes on and what I need to do, tips, and tricks -- and showed me little ways I can do to make things a bit better. Customer service was great. I've never waited on hold for more than a minute or if someone called and I'd called all different hours, these are peak and non-peak hours.

I have Vivint's basic package and they included the camera later on. It was a friendly gentleman who installed the system. With the camera, at least I'd able to see through a window when I'm away. However, it doesn't work now, so that’s a disappointment. I haven't contacted Vivint, though, as I've been too busy. But I do like the fact that they respond quickly through a number of ways such as by cellphone, email, and calling. And although there's always room for improvement, I would recommend Vivint to a friend.

I have everything except the door camera from Vivint security and so far, I have the highest satisfaction I can get with their service. Their sales rep was very professional, persistent, and was very honest about anything. The installation people came in the time they said they would, checked everything was working and were gone. I would highly recommend Vivint and their service technicians. My technician was prompt, polite, knowledgeable. When I answered the door he immediately held up his badge and introduced himself. With Vivint, we have a window alarm, a door alarm, a motion sensor, a carbon monoxide alarm, an indoor camera and the deadbolt that has the doorbell with a camera in it. We already had the ADT alarm system before, but Vivint was offering the same package for the same price with the addition of the doorbell camera, which we thought was an innovative feature. We've been pretty satisfied and we haven't had any issues with our alarm system. One of our smoke alarms went off and set off the alarm, and we got a call from Vivint pretty quickly, so that went pretty well. The installer was real friendly and answered all of our questions while he was installing everything for us. Our main panel had an issue with Wi-Fi after he left, but then we had another installation guy come and he fixed that for us. They’ve all been great whenever they’ve come out onsite.

I got Vivint's security system with the standard features and the thermostat. The house needed to have a security system. It also definitely needed a thermostat. You want to be able to heat the house before you get home or have it off if you’re not going to be there. The reps at Vivint are great. They typically fix whatever issues I have quickly. The people who came to install were good as well. The installation was quick. Once it was done, they explained what I have, and left me their number and service department’s number. Vivint has been very good as I know their system works. When we had a hairdryer smoke in the house, everything worked. They called my cell phone really fast. It's been a very satisfying experience, and I’m very happy with them.

I am not sold on monitoring alarm services but one of the things that sold me on Vivint was the core add-on equipment which could be very beneficial in the near future. Representative and installation personnel were very professional, courteous, knowledgeable of the equipment and have the patience to explain to the prospect customer the benefit of their services. We wanted an alarm system and called ADT. They came out but the first thing the technician for ADT said was Vivint is better and told us to switch to Vivint. So we decided to purchase the package from Vivint which included two cameras, the front door camera or the doorbell camera and the inside camera and the sensors. We have the window smashing sensor, motion sensor, and sensors for the doors and windows. We got these features because they were the best deal and we wanted cameras because we wanted to make sure we knew who was outside or in case if they try to rob us, we got them on camera.
So far, the service has been very well and we're very pleased with it. The reps were very friendly and explained everything to us. Everything turned out to be what the sales technician said. The technician was very nice and installed everything well. He did everything that we wanted. The doorbell was very outdated so when he tried to put the new doorbell camera in, it blew the transformer, but he then went in and bought us new doorbells. He was a very nice man. It's a very wonderful experience.

I would first off like to thank Vivint for having my family being a part of their family. I would also like to thank Brody (badge # **) for a excellent sales service. My family wasn't ready to purchase a new security system until Brody sat down with us and went over all of the equipment and what each one does, then he took the time to explain to me how much each equipment would cost and save me vs buying it at a local store. We live in the country and we have four kids, and I live on one of the main roads. I wanted a security system to be able to secure my home away, and from my sister’s on the West Coast, I can do it with my phone remotely. And if one of my kids goes out the backdoor, I would know that something’s going on or someone’s coming through the backdoor. We have the video camera inside, the thermostat by remote and the electronic front door from Vivint. In this day and age, it's all technology. And to have my home on my phone, technology-wise, I can just click in and check my kids. It gives that urgency. So having it on my phone is one of the biggest benefits of having the system.
I was referred to Vivint by the captain of the fire department down the road. The Vivint sales rep was great, wonderful, and really explained everything. Within the first 10 minutes, my wife and I knew that we were gonna do it. And he was very kind and generous too. He offered up the Space Monkey with it, but it's not working and we're trying to get that fixed. Four installers came out and they were totally awesome, nice and respectful. Any questions I had, they took the time to explain them as they were working. I'm a farmer so they came at the wrong time, but yet they were very fast and efficient. They knew my urgency.

My kids stay home alone in the afternoons after school and this summer they’re going to stay home with their stepbrother so I wanted to keep my eye on them. I bought an alarm system from Vivint and the service package includes a front door lock with the keypad on it, a camera in the living room, a window break, and front door and back door sensors.
The installation guy was really nice and explained everything. He stayed there until I knew how to work the system properly and even showed me how to explain it to my kids so they would understand how to use it. He even knew who my kids were because he was the one that installed the system at their dad’s house, and the kids remembered him. I’ve been pleased with Vivint and so a coworker of mine switched to them from her old alarm system. The only thing that we’ve had trouble with is our front door lock. We’ve had to adjust it a couple of times in order for when we shut the front door for it to close properly. But other than that, we haven’t had any major issues.

It's been great with Vivint. I have the window sensors, video, door alarm, and Space Monkey. They recommended these features and I said it sounded good. I'm really happy with the service. At first, I wasn't sure it was going to be worth the money but they've been really great. Installation was fast and the team that did it was thorough. They knew what they were doing and didn't leave a big mess. One time we left the door open, about to head out for a trip. A rep called me about it and was really nice. She didn't make me feel like I was an idiot for leaving the door open. They have very professional people. My neighbors said that whoever we got, they would trust and they went ahead and got Vivint too. Our neighborhood now has a lot of people using Vivint.

My Vivint security system is rocking along and doing pretty good. Their installation guy wired up all the sensors that were already here from another company and he also explained the system to me. I chatted with him a little bit and he was congenial enough. Their sales rep was also a nice fellow and I enjoyed talking with him, too. I’m satisfied with Vivint.

Wife and I had a Vivint Smarthome security package installed. Brian was our sales rep. After an awkward introduction via the local police department, Brian followed through in a professional and courteous manner, and we had our security system up and running in a matter of hours. The technicians were friendly and polite also and made sure that we were completely happy with our new system and stayed to make sure that we understood fully how our new system works. We had a motion detector when we first installed the Vivint system over three years ago. I had a rescue kitty and she was hopping about when I wasn't at home and setting if off. So we had to take the motion detector down. The reps were very kind and patient with me when we were trying to figure out why the alarm kept going off, because my cat had actually been here with me for several years before that. They also put in the new carbon monoxide detector for me. They did a good job and the service was excellent.

The initial installation was not coordinated very well for customer comfort with timeframes but then the installation improved toward the end of the weekly install. Was more impressed with the installers than the sales person who was pushy.

I have first known about Vivint eight years ago. I’ve got a remote-use door lock, CO2 sensors, and break sensor from them and the experience has been great up till last year. Their sales reps are typically good and the installation guy was awesome. Vivint’s service has been good, but then they kind of forgot to answer the phone.

We had a Vivint security system in the past and felt it was time to do it again because we're getting older. Everything is upgraded a lot better this time. We got the camera, glass breakage detector, and all the doors and windows are covered. The sales rep we talked to was young and he was learning. He probably said a couple of things that didn't come out true but I let it slide. The installers made the corrections that needed to be made, but the problems were more on the billing issues. I told the sales rep in the beginning that I didn't want automatic billing but that's what they ended signing me up for. It wasn't a smooth transaction and I wasn't happy with that part. But I'm happy with the product and service. When the alarm goes off, they're on top of it within 15 seconds. I get called or texted and I also get follow-up emails.

I am so pleased that I replaced my ADT alarm system with VIVINT SMART HOME SECURITY. It is now clear to me that my home security system by VIVINT is much more knowledgeable than ADT representatives. I am a current U-verse business customer with AT&T. I reached out to them regarding their AT&T home digital security system. Unfortunately for them they didn't return my call as promised so I reached out to VIVINT... DONE DEAL!!! It's been over a week after having my system by VIVINT. Now AT&T digital home security wants to call me. Really???

The Vivint installation guys came out and wasted a whole day of my time. I had to take all the stuff out because they said it wasn’t compatible. I’ve been trying to schedule a tech to come out here and place my stuff, and I have had numerous emails that have been unreturned. I won’t use them again.

For the most part, I’m quite happy with Vivint. I got the thermostat control and the monitor that's worn around the neck for emergencies. We also have a camera in the kitchen, and a lamp or two that go on and off depending on the switch. I’m not totally satisfied because of the thermostat control as I’m not sure how to work that yet. I have a little problem in getting the right temperature and my daughter handles that all the time but their service is very effective and I’m glad we have it.

I had never heard of this company before. When the sales reps came to my home and gave the none rehearsed sales pitch I was instantly sold. Purchased the system and the rest is history. I did not have to wait for a technician two days later. It was like "Johnny on the spot". The technician came in the matter of minutes to install. All were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I have never meet the sales reps nor technicians before this day. It was as though I knew them all my life. Just an awesome group.

The Vivint staff at the 1-800 call center were wonderful to me and helped me troubleshoot a camera issue. Our field technician Andrew was extremely knowledgeable, articulate and professional, and corrected our minor issue quickly and also walked me through the Smartphone phone app. which is amazing. We have recommended Vivint to several family members and feel very safe with our system.

I'm pretty happy with Vivint. I got cameras, door handle, door locks, automatic lights, a panel, and glass break. I had quite a few problems in the beginning with the service guy because we had problems with our doors and our cameras. Vivint just kept sending the same guy out and he didn't do what he was supposed to do. There was a time when I contacted him in the way that he told me to contact him through text or email and it took him two months to get back to me. I was getting really frustrated so I finally called the main number and they sent somebody different and everything was good.

I have no complaints with the service from Vivint. I have the premium service package and I have had them for a few years already. They didn’t come out to install it. What happened was I’ve already had it and someone came out because the lady on the phone told me that the old panel would have to be replaced when I renew the contract. But while he was here, he troubleshot everything, gave me some batteries and stuff, and said "No, it’s the same panel."

We've been very satisfied with Vivint's service. They've been very responsive and very dependable. They've done what they said they were going to do. We have the sprinkler system and all the glass breakage. The only problem we have is we got some glass that's rather sensitive. It sets the alarm off when you sometimes drop a commode seat or just bang something. We had them come out and make an adjustment. They were out here in a hurry and did a great job and it's been good ever since.

I had been talking to several security companies but never signed up with one as either I didn't like their price or contract. Then Vivint showed up at my door and I liked their contract and the price was right - it was bang for my buck. I have all my doors, garage, glass break covered by the Vivint package. I also have their window system, and I have all the contraptions of my window as they're efficient that way, but I don't the thermostat because we had just remodeled our house and already had CO2 detectors.
When I first got the package, my husband set off our door system as the alarm was not disabled before he went and opened the door. Also, I was breaking frozen cheese with hammer and had set off my glass break alarm, but they were right there and right on the spot so I'm extremely happy with them. The guy that sold us our equipment was right on top of his team. He had one team member that was in training and there were problems with him, so he was let go that very day, but the rest of the others were extremely efficient. I even took them over to my friend, and she cancelled her other security provider and installed the same Vivint system in her house.

Vivint's rep on the phone didn’t know what they were talking about and gave me the wrong information. It almost made me spend money that I didn’t have to spend. They said I needed to use a thermostat and I needed to have a new panel. And that was completely wrong. If the installer hadn’t told me that I didn’t have to spend it then I wouldn’t have known.

Two Techs called at my home to determine what my issues were with the security system. Pablo and Scott were very customer friendly, recognizing we were not too familiar with it. They were able to identify the problems, replaced right away the broken items, added a relay to let the door camera/chimes communicate appropriately with the control panel, and then took the time to ensure the smartphones were programmed correctly and that we understood how to use the application to our best advantage. When they completed their visit, they cleaned up the mess they had to create when there was some additional tooling required on the door lock. Feeling so good about being adequately informed and our home secured. Thanks Vivint for such great onsite techs. They can make or break your business with their approach to the customer. These guys know that and speak well for your product line.
