    I have Vivint's smoke detector and sensors on the windows and the doors. Their reps were good and they explained the service levels clearly. The installer was very professional too. The only thing is I tried to cancel the service a while ago due to unemployment, but it was quite impossible to do so. Other than that, everything has been good.

    I would not recommend this company to anyone. We are lied to in order to get the services hooked up. If you move, they will only suspend your service for a 6 months and will charge you again to hook everything up. They were not helpful in the moving process. I called several times in order to find out what to move and how to get it all taken out of the home. They never came to uninstall anything but charge me to re-install it. Not to mention that I had to call several times and was on hold for almost an hour.

    My experience with the product itself has been neutral but it is instead my experience dealing with the company that dictates my review. Through the 2 weeks or so that I have been in contact with Vivint, I realize that the company cares absolutely nothing about the customer and exists purely because people get sold long-term contracts door to door or through other forceful/predatory tactics. It started innocently enough. As a new home owner and new parent I was willing to try their service out. During the installation the tech drilled a thumb sized hole through my exterior siding from the inside of the house. I was told someone would be in contact with me. The first contact Vivint made to me is about my negative response to an automated email asking for "my feedback on my recent service visit". After which I started a claims process with them...

    I was told to submit a quote. I received one to repair the damage close to the condition prior to the install... When I submitted the cost to Vivint, I was contacted and offered about HALF the value of the repair. Also adding insult to injury was a clause included with the settlement that I have to "Take it and be quiet," and remove any negative reviews (which I had made none of at that point). The only explanation I was given for the level of compensation offered was that my damage was cosmetic (seriously??) and the cost to repair (fill the hole in my siding with silicone) was cheaper and that they wouldn't cover the cost to fix the problem like I had got quoted. I tried to negotiate a less insulting offer and was told my only further option was seek legal advice.

    It just seems ridiculous that for a few hundred dollars, a large company like Vivint can't offer more than a half-ass repair as the only level of compensation to homeowners who have been wronged, but have no problem locking them into several thousand dollar contractual obligations. It sadly seems this company cares more about bad reviews and publicity than making things right for their customers. My recommendation to ALL people is to avoid dealing with Vivint as the level of customer care is brutal and the company will NOT act in your best interests, in spite of the sales pitch.

    Do not get scammed. Their equipment is junk! We always have trouble with cameras thermostat. Equipment is so cheap it never works. Always on the phone troubleshooting with customer service. Then they want to charge you $49.00 to come fix their cheap junk! Do not buy! They also lied about contract. They tell you 24 months and they changed it to 42 months.

    I LOVE my new Vivint Smart Phone Security System. Some of my favorite features include being able to: See on my iPhone (whether I am home or not) who is at my front door. See movement outside my home because of the outside cameras. Lock or unlock my home from my iPhone. It is really nice to drive into my detached garage and unlock the back door so I can quickly move from the garage to the inside of my home. Turn on/off lights in my home from my iPhone from inside/outside my home. It is nice to be able to turn on lights in my home as I drive into the driveway. Change the thermostat temperature from my iPhone. Being able to begin cooling my home before I arrive is a nice feature. Monitor activity at my home (both inside and out) because of the constant updates from my Vivint Security System about activity in and around my home.

    I have trouble with the mobile app on of Vivint and I don’t think it's reliable. I can't trust it because every time we go to leave, half the time when I come back, it won't turn the alarm off. It just sits there and it does the circle on my phone. It never comes up to say it's disarmed and I have to turn my phone off and reset it and then when it comes up sometimes it's turned it off and sometimes it hasn’t. I have the same problem with the door lock.

    I received a visit on this past Saturday morning (25 June 2016) from a young man named Jacob who was in my neighborhood, and noticed that I did not have a security sign posted, like many of my neighbors did. He introduced himself very politely, and asked if I had ever heard of a Smart Home system. I told him that I had heard of similar systems advertised on TV and radio, and that my wife and I had talked about checking into one for our home. Jacob was very knowledgeable on the subject, and had some additional information, along with a short video that was very informative. I invited Jacob in to talk about the Smart Home system, and I liked what I heard.

    I won't go into specifics on the package I was interested in, but suffice it to say, I was very pleasantly surprised at the amount of equipment and service I was offered for very little out of my pocket. I was very interested, but short on time, as I had guests on the way, and was leaving a few days later for vacation. To my delight, Jacob made a quick phone call, and Tyler (the installer) showed up ready to work. Tyler had my system installed and running within two hours, and had already showed my wife and I how to use it. He helped us set it up on our phones, touch panel, and iPads. We got the voice activated system with Alexa (through Amazon), and we were controlling lights, the radio, the thermostat, and the security system before our guests arrived. We have been very impressed with the system so far, and will give it its first real long distance test this week. Thanks Vivint for helping us join the Smart Home family!

    We purchased a service package that includes the doorbell camera, smoke detector, and glass break from Vivint. So far, their services are good. My interactions with the sales team has been good as well. The installation team was very knowledgeable and if somebody wasn’t, they’d send someone who, later, was. But they seem pretty knowledgeable of what they were doing and if they didn’t know something, they would get on the phone to get an answer or check with someone.

    We had problems with the transformer since it kept blowing every time we plugged it in. We went through about four transformers and eventually got one that worked. We got reimbursed for the ones that were blown so we got a credit on our account, which is good. Currently, we’re having problems with our doorbell camera and we've already had several interactions with the customer service team about this. We called and let them know and sometimes the camera will come back on and recently it’s gone off. We haven’t had time to call them back again.

    Our daughter snuck out and we wanted to keep her inside the house so we got the system. I asked people at work what security provider they use. I have coworkers and friends who use Vivint and I had been to their house and noticed their systems. So we got camera in our living room and a doorbell camera. The sales rep and everybody on the phone was super nice and detail oriented. I really liked that. The only thing that bothered me was that they somehow magically enrolled me in an automatic draft situation and I wasn’t receiving a paper bill. It was automatically drafting out of my account, which I didn’t really want. I would rather be in control of that and pay it myself. It doesn’t mean that I want to kill a tree and get a piece of paper in the mail. So I got that fixed after the first month of it withdrawing.

    The guy who came to our house wanted to chat a lot and he didn’t give us the Vivint sign that goes in the front. He could’ve used his time a little bit better. He sat down on the couch and talked to me for 20 minutes. We're just talking about our families and that’s cool, but he’s a stranger and it was a little bit awkward since he sat down. I was like, “Okay, this is cool. I’m not trying to be rude, but finish doing your job.” We didn’t get the Vivint sign until we had to have somebody come actually back out to the house because our system wasn’t updating on its own.

    We've had a couple of hiccups here and there, but I think it maybe more of our wifi’s fault rather than theirs. One of my favorite features is when it tells me that the electricity goes out of my house, that’s really nice to know because we have a big freezer and before we had the system, I lost $400 worth of meat because of it. So now it tells me and we leave 10 minutes from work so I just run home. I really like that feature and I recommend them to people all the time.

    I own a Home Health Care business and I was extremely pleased to learn that I could buy a pendant similar to LifeAlert for a one time fee of $60. This is a bargain as the separate systems cost at least $32 a month with a six month minimum. I have so much peace of mind with that pendant and the camera which will have two way communication with the next software update. This is huge if you have your parents living at home with you or you want to monitor them from afar. Another huge aspect is that you can program the system to chime if a door opens... That's really handy for people living with a loved one with Alzheimer's or Dementia. There are several clients that I am going to what this system with.

    We had another security system but we liked what Vivint had to offer at that time when the salesman came in. We got the doorbell camera a while back but I had a little trouble with it. It kept losing sync with the panel. I finally got the panel upgraded, then they said I needed stronger internet, so I got that as well. It's been working okay now except that it doesn't alarm us on motion. Another issue is the panel that I put in above the garage where we walk in has a light - green or red - that lets us know if it's armed or not. However the panels I have in my bedroom and in the front door that we never go into don’t have lights. My other system had those lights so whatever panel we looked at, we could tell if it was armed or not. I could be laying in my bed, looking at my panel and be able to tell if it's armed or not without having for me to look on my phone or go to the washroom where the garage door is at and look at that main panel. I'd like the company to upgrade those one of these days. Nevertheless, all the representatives have been cordial.

    First off before you buy into this company do your research. We had just moved into our brand new home. The very day one of their salesmen came calling. The pitch is that since we are in a upper end new neighborhood they have decided to "sponsor" our home just so we can have one of their signs in front of our house for the purposes of advertising to other passersby. I was willing to talk to the representative but told him to come back later since we were still busy with the move. The rep pulled up his calendar and said he could come back Monday (a holiday). I said "No. Lets do later in the week". The rep replied "Oh I am going on a sales trip to Colorado Wednesday. How about Tuesday?". I agreed to make time Tuesday.

    Tuesday came and the rep showed up, but was disappointed that my wife wasn't there. I said I could pass all the info on and to proceed with the meeting since he was going to be out of town after today. The rep then pulls out his phone and says he has since postponed his vacation, but his wife is now mad at him. "Vacation? I thought you were going on a business trip?" But we could now reschedule a time when the wife is there later in the week. I said "No, I have all the info and I will talk it over with her and we will call you." After 20 mins of pushing him out the door he presses 3 time to just show up later in the week. These are the type of sales tactics I can't stand, especially since I have a slight background in sales.

    A few weeks go by and another rep shows up at my door. I tell him that I have already spoken to a Vivint rep and I didn't like the $65 monthly charge, in which he proceeds to jam his foot in the door. Forcefully giving me his pitch that he is with "Corporate" and can save me 40% off. 10 minutes later, he comes up with a $59 a month figure that is less of a system than I had worked out with the previous rep. Finally he throws his hands up in the air and says "I don't think you are 100% committed", smiles and walks off.

    Pro: Vivint and some of the nicest looking and most tech advanced equipment on the market. Equipment is free with $99 install. Originally $199 (wink, wink). Cons: 5 year contract. The rep will go out of their way to steer away from any contract talk. Good luck trying to get out anytime sooner. $60 a month service fee, and you get to monitor it on your cell phone. You can find another service for $20 a month. Extremely pushy sales people. You thought certain religious orgs were bad. I have read their customer service is just average. Vivint just isn't the type of company I would choose to do business with. Their sales people are well trained but pretty slimy when it comes to actually disclosing the truth at what you are getting into.

    I had Vivint over 6 years. At first they were great. I would recommend to my family and friends. Towards the end and now that I'm discontinuing the service, it's a nightmare. When I called to cancel my service, I was told I had to write a letter. Then I wrote a letter and I was told I had to call. The representative was beyond rude and hung up on me when I wasn't persuaded by his half price offers to stay. Now that I'm finally done, getting out, I have been charged for 2 months of service.

    I was told when I called about the charges that it was apart of my contract to be charged one more month, but I would be issued a credit... over a month later no credit and I disputed with my credit card company and I just saw another new charge!!! This is an absolute nightmare. Get Arlo, you won't have to deal with this garbage company.

    The quality of service I've received isn't even what I would consider mediocre, AT&T has better service and I left them for poor customer service after over 10 years as a customer. I have been bounced from person to person and I have been told my issues would be resolved, yet your company only does their job half way. The ONLY positive experience I've had with Vivint was with the installer, Joe, who was super kind and courteous, prompt to follow up, and I liked and can count on him. It.s because of Joe that I'm even giving you the benefit of the doubt to email today.

    When I signed up for Vivint's services the representative wrote out this awesome list of the things I wanted to secure my home to include free moves for the life of my contract as that was a huge part of me even agreeing to the contract as my wife and I will be moving in 2 years for work relocation. Your representative told us there was a $198 install fee, which I immediately told him, I was no longer interested then, I already have ADT and I'm not going to pay another install fee. So he said he pays half and that we would be responsible for $99 of the install fee. I agreed I would be willing to pay the $99 install fee only. When he called Vivint to verify the offer is real he told me they would say the install fee is $198 and I am to agree as he would be paying half, which was obviously not the case.

    As we were setting up the account, he told me he needed an payment account on file. I asked the representative if they would Vivint charging the account right away and he said that it was just to hold and that I could pay with whatever method I chose and I had 10 days to do that. My wife and I expressed the account information given was NOT to be used for any other purpose than to complete the info needed for the contract. So, you can imagine my anger when I check my account the next day and see Vivint withdrew $278 from that account and charged me a $25 return check fee, because that account didn't have funds in it as it's only used for making my car and insurance payments monthly and NOTHING else.

    I immediately contacted your company, was bounced from person to person, and finally spoke to someone who said they would refund my account. I waited 10 business days, still no refund, so I call back a few days ago and was told the money was refunded to my Vivint account and the representative I spoke with the other day said she would refund my bank account within 24-48 hours, here we are several days later, and still no refund in my account.

    I sent the above information to Vivint's legal department and was contacted by someone who offered to cancel my account. I needed to verify with my wife that was okay and he said he'd call back the next day and send me an email so I could contact him directly. That was a week ago, no call and no email. I filed a complaint through the BBB. I want out of this contract with no further financial obligation and will NEVER do business with this company again! I will tell everyone I know to run far, far, far away from Vivint.

    I’m not happy with how it has been hard to get Vivint out here to fix something that’s not my fault. It’s taken way too much effort on several occasions and without someone wanting to charge me. Although, in the end, somebody makes the right decision and sends somebody out to take care of it. It’s a fact that batteries wear out so fast. It’s just the way it is and they don’t tell that. The batteries in the door locks are only used once or twice a month and they have to be replaced every couple of months. This has not been a really good experience. When I had a window fail they said, “Well, it’s not our problem.” And I said, “Well, yes it is.” So, there again, I had to get to somebody else to make the decision. So, somebody came out and fixed it. But it’s way too much effort and probably I will switch because of this.

    What really sold us on this home security system was the mobility app that you can download onto your cell phone and communicate with your home security system. Several people have told us that they are paying more for their security system and have less features than us.     My service technician/field agent was great, patient, experienced, knowledgeable and took the time to explain the equipment and all possible options I have with the company. Did not make me feel uncomfortable in my home, and friendly with my family without being unprofessional. He gets 5 stars! The issue I have with Vivint is their hold times with telephone calls are so long. Just to get an answer took at least 40 minutes and that was the technician calling (not that he told me I was waiting for the answer too). I also experienced these incredibly long hold times. It seems that the hold times are always longer when specifically waiting on the "moving" department.

    We signed up for a security system with Vivint when we owned a home in Michigan and never had any issues as we never had to contact customer service before. Since then, we've relocated to Florida. Before our move, we contacted the customer service line to find out what we can do about our system. The representative informed us that since we were still under contract. We'd have to move the system with us. We were okay with that as we were happy with the service, but because we were renting an apartment for the first year we couldn't have the system installed during that time.

    Our account was placed on a 6 month courtesy hold after which we had to pay our monthly fee. The same service representative also informed us to leave all the existing equipment in the home we sold, including the panel, all the sensors, cameras, door lock and thermostat. He informed us that's how they hope to gain a new customer and that when we move into a new home we would get all new updated equipment as part of their $99 relocation fee. According to him, equipment varies from state to state as regulations could be different. We did as we're advised.

    Fast forward 14 months, we've moved into a new home and tried to get our system set up again. It's been nothing but a nightmare. Every time we call the company we get a different answer and not a single representative can find notes from ANY of the previous calls. In fact, Sabrina, the rep we spoke with just a couple of days ago has informed us that people have been getting fired for not taking notes. Here is what they want us to do to get a new system installed: According to Sabrina's words, leaving the panel and equipment in the old home is their old policy at this moment. So even though we were instructed by the company representative to do so, that no longer applies and we have to pay for it, since they have new policies now.

    In order to get service installed we have to pay $500 for the new panel, more for all the other equipment if we chose to have it installed. And the $99 move fee they originally told us about. Our monthly price will also go up from $49.95, which we are under contract for, to $68.99 because that's their new price. Our only other option is to renew our contract back to 60 months, we have 24 left, and at that point we can pay $200 for the new panel, more for extra equipment, the $99 move fee, and our price will still go up to $68.99.

    This is all very different information that I got from the last representative I spoke with. He promised me 4 times he was taking notes into their system as I had to have my husband call back and set up service since he's the primary on the account. He also informed me of the policy change about leaving behind the old equipment, but said our cost would be $200 for all new equipment, they would void the $99 move fee as a courtesy, and he never said anything about the monthly fee going up. He also never took any notes as none of this information exists in Vivint's system.

    We are extremely disappointed with this company and will never renew the contract with them. We have gotten nothing but false information and horrible customer service who have treated us as if we did something wrong when we followed their instructions. They clearly change their policies however they chose to, to get more money from existing customers. I would not recommend this company to anyone. In fact even though we still have a contract with them, we are planning to pay if off and get a security system from a different provider. Stay away from the scam artist.

    Last year there were several break-ins and things happened in the neighborhood, and my husband got a little bit older and can't hear anymore.     ADT had to use a phone line in order to use their system while Vivint did not. I was not going to pay for a home phone line just to get a security system so I went with Vivint. I have the carbon monoxide and smoke detectors because I wanted to keep the house a little more secure. It was 8:30 pm when the installation guy tried to come out for the first time. I told him there was no way I was staying up while he did it. The second time he came out, he was running a little bit late but he still showed me all the details and took time to make sure I understood everything before he left.

    Last summer a salesman sold Vivint High Speed Internet, Telephone Service, Security System, and DirecTV at a real bargain price. This was just before football started (NFL) and our team is out of market and rarely shown on other channels. Too Good to be true? It really was. After a month of horrible phone service we get a letter saying that Vivint's tower in our area is not working and they need to cancel the phone and internet service. That should have stopped their deal but instead we were stuck with their alarm system and had to contract Century Link for phone, internet, and DirecTV. I told them what happen but they told me I'm stuck with their security system for 5 years even though the package of goods were broken by them.

    I didn’t realize I got Vivint until I had done all the essential work and then they told me who they were. I was tricked. I'm not really satisfied with their service at all. A lot of things were not explained including who they were when I called for the service. I was calling for a different security service. It was also done for the church, but when I wanted to switch names on the account, Vivint told me that there will be another charge. They would have to start a whole new account for the same church and that would be an extra fee. That was a part of the ripoff.

    The service package we got from Vivint included the door sensors, a few window sensors, and the sensors in the main hallway. Every door has a sensor. We're very pleased with them. They've given us a couple of breaks in our charge. My husband is a stickler, so he's like the business person that does everything for the family, and he probably thinks he should get a better price because he's been such a good customer.

    But they're good and I like them. We've tripped the alarm in trying to get in, and the police was dispatched a couple of times until we got it right. The Vivint reps have been very courteous and helpful. They know now when the alarm goes off, but they still were right on it. We verify all the information for them, and they ask us if we're okay. We do have a code that if something's wrong, like if we're being robbed or if we feel we're in danger, we can give them that code.

    For the most part, we're satisfied with them. We've gotten several calls from their competitors wanting us to switch. When they find out how much we're paying, they usually call us back. Then my husband questions them enough to where they back out because they usually can't beat Vivint's price or the service that we get. We're planning on getting all the windows with sensors, but it's going to have to be a good deal for my husband, and hopefully nobody will beat Vivint in giving him a good price when he decides to do it. I would definitely recommend Vivint to a friend. We actually have done so, to our neighbor across the street. She came over and asked us what we think about the Vivint security system, and we told her that we liked it, and she got it too.

    I've had this company for a couple of years. I now need to cancel. I sent a cancellation notice through e-mail, mail, and over the phone. Vivint will not let you cancel. They said they never received my e-mail or letter. When I try to cancel over the phone, they continuously put me on hold and hang up on me. I have spent NUMEROUS hours and days trying to resolve this. They will only pick up the phone if you are willing to pay the bill. To this day, I am still struggling to cancel my account.

    After calling multiple times and being sent the wrong part at least 3 times even after speaking to a supervisor a service man came out and quickly fixed our door only because he carries parts with him rather than order them from the office because he never gets the parts he orders... If it weren't for him coming and fixing our door in literally minutes we would have disconnected Vivint.     So I had someone come into my home to do a demonstration. He needed a credit card on file in case I decided to choose this company. After the demo, I told the guy I am NOT interested, remove my credit card on file and DO NOT charge anything to my card. He assured me that my card will not be charged. They only charge cards AFTER the installation is completed.

    Next day, I see a charge pending on my card! I called the company and gave them an earful! They claim a refund will be done and I should see it the next day. Well today, the charge is no longer pending, it has gone through on my account. I called my local police department and filed a police report and called my bank to dispute the charge.

I requested a supervisor and this troll says he doesn't have one. Good thing I was not in close proximity of this guy cause I would've socked his disrespectful **! He goes on to tell me that a paper check was mailed to me on the 14th from Utah and I should get it today. WTF! What planet are you on? It does not take 2 days for mail from Utah to Maryland! Mail from ATL to Maryland takes about 4-5 days, so please, cut the **! Why would a paper check be mailed to me when my card was charged?!

    DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFO, CREDIT CARD INFO OR DEBIT CARD INFO! This is how the reps are paid. Once your card is charged, the rep is paid his/her commission. This is why I don't trust sales people at my door because of sneaky frauds such as these people. It's always that one dummy who messes it up for others.

    I got the thermostat, the door locks and the security part of the Vivint system. What appealed to me was being able to remotely lock and unlock the door and reset the thermostat if I needed to. The installation team was very efficient and they answered my questions. However, there was supposed to be a camera and they were not able to set it up. They sent someone back later but they never got it to work, so I got another remote door access pad instead. However, the pad is a little high for me. It would go off even though I know the right code and it didn't always register completely. They told me to use a stylus and it worked perfectly after that.

    I've talked to Vivint about extending my contract because it's going to be over in a few months and they're not willing to go down very much at all. All the things they put in have been more than paid for over and over again. So, I feel that they're a bit too high. The fact that I've paid my bills on time and done all of that part, I expected or hoped that they would negotiate something more reasonable at this point. Now, I don't think I'm going to continue with them. I've got all of their equipment and I don't know that I can use it. Other than that, their service has been very good.

The satellite on top of my roof gets getting moved with the wind so the service is inconsistent. But when there's no wind, service is quick and that's what I need. However, one has to actually experience the security to realize if there are other needs and I would like to have added a couple of other features once we got the security system, but the fee is astronomical to do that. I'm now stuck in a contract that I'm not pleased with the product and the service. This company is out to get your signature and then drop all personal contact with you after that.

    I would have recommended this company ONLY if they had called me back as requested. If you read this review, I hope you consider carefully about what you are signing. It looks good on paper, but the customer service and process of cancelling are the worst, and they do everything they can to avoid contacting you within that 30-day deadline. They are known nationwide, plus outside the states and you couldn't do better than this...and I have referred others...no happy. System is great.

    I am so frustrated, angry, and disappointed in Vivint. I had an account with them for years and had good quality service with no problems. In fact, in August 2015, I was still using them and was no longer under contract. One summer night in August 2015 a young man named Chris representing Vivint, stopped by and informed me that I could get outside cameras for just a few $ more a month. I was very interested in the outside cameras because I live on the north side of Pittsburgh and we were having our cars broken into. Chris said he would have to send me covers that would arrive in about a week for the cameras so they could be used outdoors. I signed up and locked into a 5-year contract.

    We are now in June of 2016 and I was just informed today June 14, 2016 by Miranda from the company that they don't have outside covers for the cameras! Backing up to August 2015, I contacted Chris by cell for about the next 4 months about the covers and every time he had an excuse why I didn't have the covers yet (out of stock, delivered to wrong address, company was incompetent, etc). He finally stopped answering the phone so I called the company twice and was told by Patrick and Michael that they would send me the covers. They would give me 6 months credit ($60) for the cameras since they haven't been used and they would credit my account $25 for my frustration. Now, each call to the company takes hours so this is not something you can do at work.

    Today, after Miranda transferred me to a manager, Justin said he could not do anything. I needed to call the "Slams Team" but he couldn't switch me over because they weren't open yet. So I called back and a man Samuel talked to me and said I can't get out of the 5-year contract. I told him I would NEVER have renewed my contract because I wanted the cameras for outside. The best they could do was credit my account $10 a month ($100) and return the cameras but I cannot get out of the contract because they upgraded my panel in August. I explained "I would not have upgraded anything if I was told the truth that the cameras were not usable outside" and that "I was fine with the old panel. I still have the old panel, so put that back on" - of course, they can't do that.

    I asked Samuel if he was the "Slam Team" and he said no, but he was talking to them. I asked if he would transfer me to them. He informed me they could not do anything else. I needed to email Vivint. Now, when I looked back to see if they ever credited my account in January, I find out I've been double charged for 10 months! I have to say I had a technician here today. Wes was very understanding and helpful and tried to do what he could. My question is, if they promised outdoor cameras, why hasn't ANYONE offered to switch them? This contract is based on lies that I have to live with until 2020 without the security I thought I would have.

    UPDATED ON 06/15/2016: Spoke to Coleton tonight for 58 minutes. They were double billing me for the past 10 months. They will reimburse me that money, around $500. They will reimburse me $100 ($10 month for 10 months) because I didn't have the use of the cameras. All that is fair. Here's where it gets good, here are my choices: purchase 2 outdoor cameras at $249 each and honor the 5 year contract or honor the 5 year contract. I explained I already paid $159 for the cameras when I signed the contract and I would have never signed the contract without outdoor cameras. I told them I filed a complaint with you and I will probably get a lawyer. He said that is within my right to do that.

    When we signed a 5 year contract with them, we told them that we were going to be moving after 3 years so there would be a period of a year or more where we would not need their services. We were told that it would not be a problem and it would only take a phone call to put the service on hold indefinitely until we bought another house and reinstalled the system. When we moved and sold the house, the system was uninstalled but customer service told us that they can only put the service on hold for 6 months, after which, we would get a monthly charge whether or not we used it. If we cancelled, we would have to pay the whole 2 years' worth left of the service all at once.

    After multiple phone calls to customer service and emails to the higher ups and being completely ignored, we've given up on the ordeal and decided that the company is horrid and we are never going to sign another contract with them. Would definitely not recommend Vivint to anyone who doesn't want to get screwed. We're currently still getting monthly bills for a system we're not using.

They answered any question I had and explained everything and made sure that I had plenty of time to make a decision. They were really good.     When I first got the system my wife was happy with the system and was ok with costs. After a year of paying for a system, which I now can get cheap, there's no way out due to way contract written. The camera no longer works and I don't want to pay just to have someone try to fix over phone. I never received replacement for the lamp on which was recalled and the front door lock did not last one year without problems which now are getting worst. The people in past were very helpful - Vivint's only saving grace. Still got a full year of the plan. Can't wait to get out. Would not renew contract. Way too overpriced for what you get in end especially since the system can be bought for far less elsewhere. Should have done my homework. Never would have done it.

But that's not the reason I want to review. The system is every bit as good as it was described.     The sales pitch was reasonable. The installation coordination was poor due to inaccurate scheduling resulting in a few more calls to coordinate the service. The point system for equipment was confusing. Controller needed to be installed twice. Cameras have not worked. Called technical service to get help and they said the work reboot the system which has not work for about a week. Submitted a question online and got an email asking for more info resulting in further delays and still not working. I have ADT in our primary home and have very few problems and pay less than Vivint. I would have placed an ADT system but they are not providing to service in the mountain environment. Still waiting and not pleased!

    I bought a service package from Vivint that included the thermostat, the touch screen panel, and the thing where one remotes in and adjusts the thermostat and close the doors in the front and the garage. I also have some window sensors and motion detectors. The sales representative was very nice and friendly. The installation team made sure and asked where we wanted the things put. They suggested places to install the sensors and were very good. However, I got a lot of alerts that say my door is open but it really isn't. It makes me freak out when that happens because I think it is. I wanted to know if they ever do system maintenance. Other than that the experience has been great so far.

    I have attempted to call Vivint every day for the past two weeks and speak with someone about moving my service from my current residence to my new one and have had NO luck whatsoever. On each of these calls, I am able to speak with someone that says they are transferring me to the "moving" department, and that's when I am on hold for at least 20 minutes or longer. I have tried the live chat feature on their website and they are little to no help either. They say that I just need to continue to hold and wait for someone to answer in that department and that they cannot help me with my issue. This process is becoming very tiresome and extremely aggravating. I am almost to the point of taking my business elsewhere due to this.

    The main purpose of having Vivint is so I won't have to worry about break-ins, and they're doing a good job for me. I signed up with them through a gentleman who came to my door and offered Vivint's services, but I wasn't in a position at that time to go with them. So when I moved, I contacted him and then he made arrangements for the installation. My interactions with him have been good and the installer showed me how to use the system which was rather simple. Vivint isn't overly intrusive into my life and the less I have to do with it the better for me. As long as the system works, I won't have any problems with them. Vivint is a great company to have.

    I wanted more security and also wanted to monitor my home as I go on vacation. I purchased Vivint's Space Monkey, two cameras, and got all my windows and lawn secured. Their sales rep was very courteous and presented himself very well. However, the first representative I got in touch with talked quickly and I couldn't understand half of what he was saying. He was just trying to sell the product. The installer was superb.

    The thing I was a bit disappointed about was I thought one of the cameras would be an external camera but I ended up with two indoor cameras because the guy didn't have one. I wish I had that external camera because I do have one for the bell, but the entrance is too dark so the outside light is brighter and I don't have too much recognition of a person's face. The sales rep gave me his phone number so I'm thinking of calling him about it, but I know they'll charge me $10 or more.

    Another thing was I was on vacation and all of a sudden my cameras went offline. The system was working. I didn't know if it was because my internet is flaky but eventually, the cameras came back online. Also, I showed the system to my next door neighbor and what I could do with it and she liked it. A week later, a Vivint guy was around and I told him that I had showed the system to my neighbor. I was told I would get some sort of credit, but I never put it through because I don't know exactly my neighbor's name. She didn't include that I recommended her. But in spite of that and all of the abovementioned issues about the sales rep and cameras, everything's good and I would still recommend Vivint.

    We’ve got the security door on top of the service package that we purchased from Vivint. So far, we’re satisfied with their service. The first time the system was put in by their rep, it was above our fire stove. We had trouble with it. He came back and moved it over on another wall, and we didn't have trouble with it since then. It was fixed with no wires showing. He has done a good job.
