We got a Vivint security system and we're very happy with it. The sales representatives were very courteous. They were here to sell it to us and install it all at one time and they did very good.

Vivint has been good and I'm happy with their service. We have their basic package and the team who came to install it was awesome. They came in about 9:30 at night and had it installed within 25 minutes. The system works well although we had the keypad changed once. But other than that, whenever we get a call or need something done, we can call them and it's taken care of right away. So overall, our experience has been very positive and I have recommended them to a few people.

I was very pleased from the service call to the technician that installed some additional devices to our home system. They were primarily to assist my husband when I was not at home, and give me peace of mind. The technician was neat, tidy, courteous. He explained the process and the product usage easily to us. He made sure we knew how to use the items.

Since the installation of our easy to use Vivint security and monitoring system our family feels 100% safe and secure in our home, especially in today's day and age with increasing crime rates. From motion detection, audio, HD video surveillance, full control of lighting and devices, gives us ease of control from any location. It can be controlled and monitored by our PC, laptops, tablets, cell phones or by the master panel itself. Monthly monitoring costs are absolutely cheap and appropriate even for us on a fixed low income. All of this automation, security, lifetime warranty, excellent customer service and absolutely knowledgeable service technicians, I would pay twice as much. Thank you Vivint for working with our family, and our budget in order to keep us safe and secure whether we are home or away.

A friend who has Vivint told me about it. Right now, I’m starting a business and I have a very small shop so I need something to cover it up to keep my tools safe. I got a couple of motion sensors and a main door switch, and I might be needing more stuff. The system is good and very easy to use and to keep track. I like it and I haven't had any issues.

I have been dealing with this company for about 2 years and have always found them to be very professional and understanding. We put the system in for my 90-year old mother and even when she sets the alarm off by accident they are very kind with her and if it is set off they are right on the phone with her being very supportive.

The service that the two representatives provided was very professional and they were both very nice. I felt very knowledgeable about the system and the app as well. Vivint Smart Home has given us a great measure of peace and security in our rural home. Each year acreages and farms suffer large losses from the theft of expensive equipment, even very large equipment disappears in the middle of the night while residents are asleep even with their windows open. Someone had attempted to take our Bobcat one night while we slept...remarkable, but true.
Aside from the obvious security monitoring, I care for my geriatric mother. The medical alert button gives me enough reassurance so that when I go out shopping, I know that she can access EMS if she collapses or falls. This is peace of mind for both her and myself. She has stated that since getting the medical alert pendant, she no longer feels extremely anxious when I have to leave the house for a short time. In addition, the inside cameras allow me to keep apprised of her status, as well as monitor and help her when she needs to be guided through kitchen-related tasks. Since her stroke, she often is unsure how to use the microwave, so by accessing the camera and talking to her on the phone, I can totally guide her through the process. For her and for me, it is almost as though I am right there with her.
Adding onto our system was easy as well. We identified a few more pieces of hardware that we wished to acquire, and Vivint was able to present us with two reasonable payment options from which we could choose the one that best suited our situation. I am extremely happy with my system, its capabilities, and the automatic future upgrades to the camera firmware that will be coming in the fall. Furthermore, since the fire, flood, freezing, and entry alarms are monitored, my home insurance company was able to award me significant yearly savings in amounts that make this system almost pay for itself. As you have probably already surmised, I am an extremely satisfied customer and delight in recommending Vivint to others. The smile on my face in the attached photo says it all!

Vivint came through our neighborhood and the rep was great. He showed us a different variety of packages and we chose the one with the camera, key lock, all the doors and windows alarm, and the glass break. The installation team was perfectly fine. We love the service.

I have Vivint's security system and it's been good. I really like that I can lock it from my phone if I'm somewhere else or I can check the video cameras on my phone. I also like that I have the automatic lock connected to my system with the keypad because when I unlock that, it disarms the code and that's very beneficial. The only thing was in the beginning when I had people come by and they turned out to be fakes. They were with another company and were trying to steal from Vivint. I called Vivint and they didn't know they were out there. I had another person come by and he said he was with Vivint. He showed me his badge, but I didn't believe him since I thought he was supposed to have a car and he didn't have one.

Clint was great. He knew what he was talking about, listened to my needs and what I was able to do. He did not push me for anything! He simply explained my options and I chose what was best for me. Today my wife answered the day to a completely inappropriate and creepy sales guy. Jacob asked, "How does your husband feel about you answering the door to strangers?" Jacob wanted to know when I would be home and what I did for a living. Jacob went on to ask my wife if she remembered his name and was making her feel very uncomfortable with his questioning and body language. Vivint, for the sake of your company you need to ditch Jacob the door knocker ASAP.

They are rip off. My cameras continue to not work, they trick you into 2 year contract without telling you all the details. If you cancel before your contract ends you get charged the remaining balance. They took a deposit out my account without my agreement and was not willing to refund my money. I do not recommend them to anyone.

We talked to a Vivint sales rep in person and everything went fine. The installation team told us about the upgrade or something we had to download, that we had to find out on our own by getting step by step assistance over the phone. There were a few times where I had to call and get assistance over the telephone and I can recall twice where the person on the phone was not very knowledgeable in what I needed. I have to wait for a long time to get somebody on the phone or for her to go get answers to, or they told me to go online and pretty much try to look for assistance myself. In other time, it's been great.
The past two weeks, the system had stopped recording outside activity with one of our security cameras. Eventually, I accidentally opened up the door before alarming the house and the system went off and we can get a call that we would normally do so I need to call and see what's going on and I'm sure we're updated with bills. But overall, they are good.

My husband and I have been talking for over a year now about how we wanted to secure our home with some sort of security system. When we finally bought a house in June 2016, we had talked more about it but could not decide what to do. We were dead set on not using a big name company because we didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. It just so happened that we had a gentleman from Vivint come and approach us about using their system. I thought we could just give a listen and my husband so sure that he wasn't going to want to use them; turns out we both bought into the system and so far we are in love.
From the beginning, the service was phenomenal. We enjoyed the guy who signed us up along with the guy who installed everything. Both were extremely professional and very efficient in what they do. The price was better than we would have ever guessed and the options that come with it are even better. We are very pleased with what we went with and are even happier that we feel more safe and secure in our home.

I had an existing alarm system in my home. However it didn't fit my needs anymore especially when it came to Smart Home Technology that exists today. Based on a friend's recommendation I contacted a VIVINT sales representative and within a couple of hours they were at my door. After presenting me with potential options and answering all of my questions as to what was available and how it would work with the current equipment I had in my home I was satisfied and decided to make the switch. Within thirty minutes the installation technicians were at my home and very quickly and professionally reconfigured my current alarm system to work with the VIVINT technology and installed all of my Smart Home options that I had chosen.
The total installation took approximately 90 minutes as the technicians on site without a doubt knew exactly what they were doing; even answering all of my questions regarding the installation and the system as they worked. After the installation a technician then showed me how the system works both through the in home panel they installed (very nice panel) and through my Android phone. I have to say from my point of view extremely easy to use, to the point that after the technician left I quickly added the app to my wife's Android phone and added her as a user to the system without any issues. My wife wasn't even home. I just called her and quickly walked her through the installation and login through the app and she was able to use it immediately. I have only had it a day but I am extremely pleased with the system.

Nobody from Vivint has ever told me that the batteries needed to be changed in the windows and doors so I've called and they'd charge me to send somebody out here to show me but I told them nobody showed me that in the first place. So there's been some issues like that, but the people who have actually come out to help have been wonderful. Their sales rep was very nice and their installation team showed me how to use the product except how to troubleshoot. It was a satisfying experience but costly.

I'm a techy person and keep up with the latest technology. This company and its employees are very knowledgeable, gave great advice and recommendations. The only thing I wasn't too excited about was the 4 year contract commitment and some of the products they offer are more expensive when committing to the 4 year contract. I feel companies in which believe in their service and products shouldn't have you commit to a contract. Great service and products create loyalty. If they brought down prices more on the actual products and removed contracts...I would be calling and recommending this service and their products to everyone I know.

Prior to meeting Tino our sales associate we had already scheduled an installation to begin service with another company. He asked for an opportunity to review our order and in doing that he not only provided us with amazing customer service, he also helped us save hundreds in installation costs for our business. I had a security system before and it went on sometimes in the middle of the night. One time my daughter-in-law called me and she said that the police is at my door and that my alarm went off. I told her that I didn’t set it off and the dog’s asleep as well. I had a hard time convincing the police that I didn’t do it and that was when I knew it was time to change my system. The rep from Vivint was very nice. I got a service package from them that included a doorbell at my front door and I can see who the person is when he opens the door. I love their system and I’m satisfied with their service.

My mother is 85 years old and suffered a fall which led to her developing seizures and some dementia. For safety reasons, we had to find a residence for her that included long term care and active senior care. As such, she had to sell her house. We had no problems canceling all of her many accounts associated with owning a home EXCEPT Vivint.
My mother sold and moved out of her home back in July 2015. Since that time we have been trying to cancel her account with Vivint. They keep taking money from her account and customer service keeps telling me a different story. At first I was told that she had no contract because it expired back in 2013 and all I had to do was to send an e-mail to the cancellations department and they would cancel the account. This never happened, so I called the cancellation department and the person then told me that I just need to wait 1 billing cycle and the account would be cancelled.
Once again this never happened, so I called back and the lady told me that the account could not be cancelled because my mother gave a verbal agreement over the phone. When I asked to hear the verbal agreement which they said they recorded, they said I had to speak to a supervisor. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they said I couldn't because they were busy. I was then told to send an e-mail with the subject line of "escalation" to customer service and they would call me and let me listen to the recording. I got an e-mail back saying I need to contact the cancellation department which is the department that told me to e-mail them in the first place. Of course, as usual, it was not an e-mail address I could reply to.
On Vivint's website, they state the following: "At Vivint, we understand that sometimes the unexpected happens. We also know that when the unexpected happens, changes must be made in your life. Because of that, Vivint is proud to offer a cancellation policy that is sensitive to unfortunate circumstances. If a death, bankruptcy, transition to an assisted living home, or other extenuating circumstance is the reason for your decision to cancel Vivint, please call 1-800-216-5232 x5020 for assistance. When you call, please be aware that circumstances that would consider you for special cancellation require specific documentation. Calling in does not always result in being released from your Vivint agreement. Special cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis."
This is the number I have called and time and time again I get the run around. My mother is very fragile, has a fixed income and can not handle this kind of stress. She keeps seeing the amount being deducted from her account and can't understand why this is happening. It is heart breaking to see my mother so upset and I can't do anything about it. Despite all of my efforts they keep taking money from her account. This is in spite of the fact that she recommended that the new home owners use Vivint. So I believe they are getting payment on the security for the same property from 2 different sources.
I tried cancelling the payment on the side of the bank but since this type of transaction is initiated on the side of Vivint it has to be stopped by Vivint. I have been brought to the point of yelling at customer service. I have brought to the point of crying. I can't believe that a company would behave this poorly. The wording on the website gives the impression that they care - at this point I believe they only care about the money.
Anita, we do offer special exception cancellations for medical conditions and moving to a senior/care facility. You will need to send a doctor's note and a letter from the care facility to socialcs@vivint.com confirming your mother's condition and residency. Once this documentation is received it can be reviewed for cancellation of the account. Thanks!

The installers the company sent to set up my system were kids. They were very young and very immature. The first clue that it was going to be bad is that they installed the panel on a living room wall instead of the entryway I requested! If that wasn't bad enough, they put a hole in the wall next to the outlet. They couldn't get the garage door function properly working and finally gave up. They didn't give me hardly any guidance on how to operate the system and told me if I knew someone who had the system I could learn from them.
I was told by the salesman that I would get a keychain fob that I never received and was supposed to get a lighted sign but never received it either. Another technician came to fix the garage door and it still doesn't work properly. Also the doorbell function only works remotely from certain areas. I honestly wish I hadn't purchased it, but I'm stuck for over 3 years with it. I wouldn't recommend it especially the doorbell and garage door functions. Total rip off in my opinion.

My wife and I had a Vivint system installed in our home and it is great. We love it. The system has a nice iPad type panel on the wall and everything is right at your fingertips. Really easy to use. Plus we have the app on our phone and we can control our whole house anywhere in the world - lock and unlock doors, watch our cameras live feed anytime, adjust the temp, everything. It's great. Plus our doorbell has a camera in it so if we are not home and someone rings the doorbell, it will come up on our cell phone and we can see who it is and we can talk to them. Pretty awesome. I know right. Lol. I would recommend this system to anyone. And the sales reps and the techs and very nice and they run you through everything and make sure you understand and know how to operate your system. Thanks Vivint. We love you guys. You are definitely considered family to us. Thank you again for keeping our house and family safe.

The tech (I believe his name was Wes and if it wasn't I apologize for not remembering) was very professional, helpful, cleaned up after himself and very patient in explaining the steps I need to use for this alarm system. I have had two other alarm systems and I am very very satisfied with the product by Vivint. Thank you for doing such a great job. I have already recommended Vivint to other customers.

The only one negative experience was when the installation team was here and they installed the sky monitor too close to my thermostat for my air conditioning. We discovered before they left it was causing the air conditioning to run excessively because of the heat from the panel fooling the thermostat on the HVAC system, so the only solution was to move the thermostat which they did. It kind of tore up the wall and all they did was put some quick patch on it and there’s a wire sticking out, a piece of cardboard and some pitch patch on my wall.
I’ve also been having some issues lately with the outdoor cameras they installed, but it worked fine for about 2 months. There was a service guy here on Friday and he told me that everything is in the wrong place and that we need to move the panel closer to the front door to where the devices are. My idea was that I should be able to have the same service I had before in my other system which they said they could match but if they can’t fix this, then they’re not meeting my expectations. But other than these concerns, everyone I’ve talked to at Vivint has been very polite and easy to work with.

So far, I'm very satisfied with the service and systems I got from Vivint. I have two units. The one in my primary home has the sensors on all the doors and windows and the panel. And the one in my other home has the doorbell camera, motion sensor and another camera inside. The sales reps were very knowledgeable, very well presented and answered all my questions. Also, the installers were very fast, courteous and worked really well. It's been very easy with them and they're a very good company.

We switched to Vivint after having a bad experience with another provider who mistreated our house and then tried to upsell us products we didn't need. Vivint has been the exact opposite. Caleb our salesman was low pressure and very engaged in helping us find what we really needed. The price he quoted us up front is the price we paid and he over delivered what we got for that price. The design of the system is so much more sophisticated and intuitive than our previous provider. We felt respected during every part of the process and we will be Vivint customers for life I feel. Very satisfied.

Had the system installed in 2013 and since the first day we had issues. First was a cracked door from the installer putting in the bolt lock. Reported it but they never fixed it. Now 3 years later they say they won't fix it. Not happy. Next was the thermostat was installed wrong and was shorting out. Reported that as well. No tech ever came to fix it and eventually the short fried the thermostat completely and led to the furnace fan being shorted out. Had to call an outside furnace guy to come in and fix the furnace and installed a new thermostat that was not a Vivint one. Several other issues happened. Seized locks, broken sensors and more. It is one of the worst services I've ever had.

I was looking for a home alarm system and looked up on which ones were the best security system for a home. Vivint came up at number 5. I called them, but they wanted me to do the installation all by myself. They were just going to send me the kit and I'm like, "I'm not doing it by myself. I had to incorporate it with the one I have." I was going to call a different one but I liked Vivint because they had the doorbell alarm that notifies you. That's the reason why I called them from the get-go. The home service is good so far and I'm satisfied with it. I haven't had any issues calling anybody to come out or when the alarm is going off. I feel secure with it at home. If I have an issue, I know I can just push the button and somebody will answer.
The guy that came out at first, that was his first installation. He was here from eight o'clock in the morning to almost two o'clock in the morning. It took him all day to install it. He was having all kinds of issues, so that wasn't good. Then when they first put the monitor in, where it says the weather part, it was supposed to be in color but it's showing all black. I've called Vivint and talked to the guy about it. They tried to reset it but it's still the same. Also, the cameras weren't working well and there is a little problem with the doorbell where they can't hear me. They came out to fix it, but it still hasn't been resolved. I just gave up on that as far as having anybody come out as I'm always busy.
Vivint also quoted me a different price. It was supposed to be $60 and with everything now, it's $76. I called and talked to somebody with Billing last month and nobody ever got back with me. Their rep said that he was going to call my sales associate to call me about it and they never did. I recommended Vivint to my brother, then he figured out all the issues I was having so he canceled it and went with another company. I wished we did a little bit more research. We would have gone with somebody else at this time.

I have Vivint's security system for about four years now, and I'm fairly satisfied with everything and the ease of access. The installation team did a good job. Everything is fine, and I haven't had any issues, so I've recommended Vivint to my neighbors.

I'm not happy with the entire Vivint experience. So I canceled it. The cameras never worked, thermostat didn't work and it's taken two weeks to get my money back!!! I've done everything that Vivint requires for a refund. I was told 2 days it's been 5 days. I want my money back! I'm tired of waiting for my money and I'm tired of dealing with you. I sent an email to Mark ** but he hasn't responded to my email. I'm getting extremely upset with Vivint. I just want to move on. If have to get a lawyer involved I will.

We were blown away with how great our experience with Vivint was! The salesperson took his time to explain everything thoroughly and didn't pressure us. The service package I purchased includes alarms for fire, glass breaking, and theft. The sales representative was extremely friendly. The installer was nice as well and wasn't over-talkative. He said something about getting our batteries for free too. I had a very pleasant experience with Vivint and I've already told a couple of people about them.

I love my Vivint product. The biggest feature that I love most is the doorbell camera video/audio. That's the greatest thing ever. I feel very secure with it. The sales rep was Matthew and he is with AV Guys, while the technician was Zachary and he did the install. They worked together and they both showed me step by step so that I could understand it on my level. Zach worked really hard and was outstanding. He worked fast and didn't drag around and kill the clock. He was very efficient and explained every little thing to me that I asked him. The only tough thing is that I pay $66 a month and I would love to see the monthly dues get down on the $50 range. But I'm very pleased with the product. Overall, my experience was great all the way across the board. I promote them online because I believe in promoting good products and good service.

So this is my first alarm system. Heard from them through friends and watched Undercover Boss. Lol. The people on phone answered all my questions. I called next day with more questions they answered and I then booked appointment. They made me a package that was exactly what I wanted plus more. They gave me friendly reminders about my install date. The installer was amazing and was careful in the house. He cleaned up his mess and made sure everything was working great. I am so happy with what they offer and all the technology that they have - also their amazing lifetime warranty. They are more expensive vs others but you get way more stuff and you can't put a price on your family's safety. Overall very impressed and would recommend them to friends and family.

Everything on the installation check list was completed with the exception of a incompatible router which was to be installed in 4-5 days. At first it was thought that alarm issues would not be responded to because of the inoperable router, but a self set alarm immediately brought response from Vivint agent.

I felt this is one way I can spread the word out there given the company will not listen... DO NOT GET VIVINT HOME SECURITY!! I have been with them now for 11 months and have been unhappy with them for 11 months. Can't get out of the agreement for another THREE YEARS which would cost me over $3,000. I chose them for the advanced technology that they offered.
I got the protect and control package that allowed me to pick 2 advanced options. I wanted the doorbell camera and outdoor camera given we live in the country. They installed the doorbell camera after one month but was told that the outdoor cameras were on backorder. I was then told 4 additional times when I called back over 5 months that they were still on backorder... all while paying for the 2 cameras. After speaking with multiple customer service reps, managers, and spending hours on the phone, I still don't have an outdoor camera, which is the main reason I went with them. Bottom line: Very expensive, Horrible customer service & they straight up LIE to get your business.

I had never heard of Vivint before my sales representative knocked on my door. He was not pushy or invasive and explained the entire home security system to me. He also stated sold systems to my neighbors and their reasoning behind installing the home security system. The best part is if I move I leave the old system and have increased the value of my home and get another system installed in my new home for free! I'm extremely happy for my new home security system!

This is my second time of being with Vivint, but I cannot say that I was ever disappointed with them not being timely and letting me know what was going on. Their reps are cordial. I have made them angry at times, yet they remained calm. I don’t have anything against them notifying me, but now my problems are physical such as vision. If they told me they emailed me, that might be a possibility because now I cannot read the computer. Yet they have answered any time I might have a problem with the system and they're very good. I'm satisfied with all of that, except I don’t like their billing and the fact that I don't understand the contract. Also, every time you call, you get a different person to talk to and I didn’t like that. But I like the service I get now.

The people that installed our Vivint system were very pushy. Their sales rep basically introduced the system to us and before we had a chance to digest what was happening, there were two individuals coming and drilling holes in our walls to get it installed at ten o'clock at night the same day their salesman did his pitch. I would like to have a little more time to think about it. We were trying to get the kids to bed then and they're doing the install right then and there. Also, I have no proof but I find it highly suspicious that about a week prior to them showing up, my car was rummaged through and that's never happened before. But so far, I'm satisfied with their service.

I have had nothing but horrible customer service with Vivint! I took over an account two weeks ago, and every time I call I end up on hold 30 plus minutes. To be exact this morning I was on hold 58 minutes to ask one question about my plan. For two weeks of experience with them it's pretty sad that I already hate their service and regret ever taking over the service when I bought my house! I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Today we changed security services from a good company that I was pleased with to a better company VIVINT. The biggest difference I can see is the quality of the equipment. The keypad display is large enough for my wife and I to read and use easily. The cameras make a huge difference in our ability to monitor who and what is going on around and inside our home. We jumped to a really high-end security system. So pleased with the install, and the results of the install.

The salesperson was very pleasant and informative. Has made me feel safe and secure. The technicians were very professional and did a wonderful job getting the equipment installed. Arriving at home this week the panel was beeping six beeps every minute, announcing my fob (or panel) battery was low which I had changed six weeks ago. A call to the main office turned off the system and I replaced the fob battery, but then was unable to reactivate. Busy lady that I am, I felt it was worth calling our local representative, Chris, who was here on a call some time ago. He suggested the main number was the method to use, and the main office rep was very courteous and set me up with an appointment for the next morning. All is well. The system is reactivated, and I only had to make two phone calls to resolve the problem. I am very pleased with the service, although I don't know why the panel told me I had to replace the fob battery. I know it will work now in any case, and it was not an expensive battery to replace. I could have called the main office and asked that question, which might have resulted in an even speedier repair.

This tech was very knowledgeable. Explained everything to me. The man that installed the system did not tell me how things worked. Told me to play with the system. And the lady that came out showed me how it worked. Fixed the guy's MISTAKES. I feel he needs more training. She is a person to keep around.

I had Protection 1 and didn't really like them, but couldn't get out of the contract. I have three big plate windows in my living room, and I never really knew for sure if they were on the alarm system. The Vivint representative who came by the house told me they have a product that can pick up shattered window as well as a doorbell and door lock. They told me the price and also that they were going to give me a check for $500 to send to Protection 1 to get out of my contract with them. I did it and so I now have Vivint.
The installers were really cooperative. They told me to run through the system and afterwards asked if I was comfortable or if I want them to go over a couple more items. I love the doorbell. I've been gone and I get this little ding on my phone when somebody is here. A lot of times, they're gone by the time I get to it because they only ring it once. Still, I have a picture of who has been at my front door and I really like that. However, when somebody rings the doorbell, I can see them on my keypad but can't talk to them. They must have the technology so that I can do this and don't have to open the door to talk to somebody outside ringing the doorbell. Their customer service people told me that they have a lot of people inquiring about that and they're looking into it. I am very pleased with the customer service as well as the company, and have recommended it to many people.

We spend our winters in Florida so we were interested in a security system. Some of our friends subscribed to Vivint and referred us. The installation was very neatly done. We had the motion detector and glass breakage features set up. We were also amazed at how quickly they installed the system and put the security things right in the door frame. We particularly enjoy having the system with the thermostat so that we can control the temperature in our absence through the icon on my phone because we're in Florida three or four months out of the year. We needed to keep track of how things are going in the house and that I can have peace of mind and look at my icon and know the temperature in the house. That's pretty wonderful.
We made one mistake and it went off when we didn’t intend for it to and we had a couple of township police officers come to the house. They do that once for free and after that they charge. We learned from experience what not to do. In addition, we had a power outage and got notified of that. That was really good to know in the middle of winter, so I contacted the neighbor to find out if it was still out. It was out a few hours and that can be crucial so the security system was very good to have. I did recommend our daughter in Chicago to try Vivint. She dropped ADT and signed up with Vivint.

The sales rep from Vivint came by and we bought the system. We have security, thermostat, fire and smoke detectors, and window sensors. They installed the system and it's worked ever since. They showed us how to configure it and have it tied to the thermostat. They even came back and helped us with a couple problems that we were having after the installation right away. So far, it's been perfect and we're very pleased. We renewed our contract with Vivint a couple of months ago.

I took over the account from the previous owner of my new house. When a (very nice, patient) tech came to activate my system, we had to call the company a few times and each time their own tech got put on hold for 50 minutes or more - and sometimes then transferred. It took THREE HOURS to get me activated, when all equipment was already installed in the house. At the end of that, with my patience tried, I was told for the first time that the high price I'd been quoted was good only with a five-year contract!
When I said I would commit only to two years with this terrible customer service, the poor tech told me he'd have to call the company, at which point I gave up and said I was cancelling. I was out of time so I asked the tech to have someone call me to come back and remove the equipment. No one called. Over the next couple of weeks I called a few times - getting put on hold each time - and spoke to someone who wanted to transfer me but I refused to wait anymore and asked again for someone to call me. No one called.
I finally just emailed someone there to say, "The ball is in your court. I didn't sign the contract, so you can't bill me. Call me when you want your stuff back." To this, I got a response saying I would have to call their "award-winning customer care" to cancel and to please see the attached cancellation policy. And that they are only an incoming call center so that's why no one had called! As I write this I've been on hold for 19 minutes and no one in the "cancellation" department has come on the line yet! I've rarely seen such an incompetent customer service system - even for their own techs!
Debbie, we definitely understand your frustration. Our Customer Loyalty team is our only team that works with cancellations which is why you were instructed to contact them. They are available 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM MST Monday – Friday, and 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST on Saturday so if you are experiencing high wait times you can try calling at a different time.

I was very happy with Vivint from the first phone call to the end of the install. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, and I now have a nice high tech security system for my home that does everything I need it to do. The doorbell camera really sold me. The touchscreen panel is very easy to use, and I can manage my home from my phone.

After months of trying to replace the Vivint fire alarms (service people either came unprepared or never showed up), I had the joy of meeting LEVI! On time, professional, good attitude and did what was needed to happen! LEVI also reset one of our thermostats (somehow had turned off the fan) and made sure everything was in working order! Vivint... my advice, clone LEVI to ensure customer satisfaction! Tito **, manager came by too - nice touch for customer service!

My house was robbed, and I have security system with Vivint. I have camera in the bell, the person touched twice the doorbell and nothing recorded. The Vivint sent a technician in my house and the absurd comes now, the technical said someone deleted the video. That is my wife and I have access to the video nobody, someone's own Vivint came into my house and steal me, and now nobody wants to take responsibility for what happened theft.

Vivint has been very responsive. The technician was professional and helped me to get the system back in sync. He also helped to install 2 additional sensors, when one failed during the visit to fix my door lock. The one visit was able to accomplish all of the items that needed "fixing" and the technician was prepared with everything.

We got the doorbells, camera, garage door opener, and the front door lock from Vivint. The sales rep explained everything to us and showed us how to use it all. The only thing that I was a little bit disappointed at is that I was hoping I was going to be able to connect my cameras to the actual system itself, and I was not able to. So now I'm paying for my security system for my home separately from my cameras. I emailed customer service and haven't had a response back, and that was about three months ago. Other than the cameras, we really enjoy the system, it works the way it's supposed to.

I like Vivint and it lets you know what doors or windows are open. It has a lot of features, but it doesn’t give you that real home security feeling. If the window is broken and a door is not jarred, it should have triggered the alarm. I don’t have the window sensors, but I tried it myself and it doesn’t work on a broken glass. It won't protect you, so that’s not really secured. But if you open a window or a door, you'd break the contact.
I know people are spying their way around things and they make so many gadgets now. You think you’re 100% secured, but other people got more knowledge than you have to disarm your system. I had a couple of times that my garage system had been opened by other people and I wasn’t aware of that until it happened. I came home and my door was open and it shut my alarm system down before they could control it all by themselves, and I couldn’t do anything with it.
Vivint should figure out some way to put something on the window as it shatters or breaks so that the people that are looking at it doesn’t realize that I know that there are other ways to get in to any place. Most of the time I’m home alone and I would like to feel more comfortable, and a shatter feature would be a little comfort for me because it's a vibration thing.

Their system never worked from the start and when discovered they lied to me trying to get me to believe it has only just stopped working. They refuse to acknowledge their system did not work. They were rude in answering some e-mails about this and would not answer some e-mails. They refuse to unlock panel even though I have paid the full contract amount to them. They refused to refund money for loss service.

We had our system in only one week and everything was going OK so far. We had to cancel because we thought we were out of our current contract with another company but it was extended due to a recent upgrade. Anyhow, I love the cameras and everything but trying to watch previous recordings took a long time to sync. Also the feature to control the A/C from the phone was not working. Other than that, everything worked to our expectation.

We love our new security system!! From the initial low pressure sales presentation to complete installation, the entire process couldn't have been easier. Our salesperson Max was extremely thorough with explaining everything and how to operate our new system. Max came to our door around 5:30 p.m. and by 11:00 p.m. that same evening we had everything installed, and up and running. We love being able to control everything from our smart phones. We got a camera from Vivint, along with the touchscreen panel on the wall, where you can open and unlock/lock your doors, and open your garage door. The sales reps explained it pretty well. The guy who originally came by to install took his time. I, myself, had to get the door to work right because the installers didn't put the plate in correctly. Everything didn't line up right on the front door. We tried to automatically lock the door with the code and had to lift the doorknob to get it to lock.
Also, the camera that we ordered was supposed to be in within a month and we wound up getting it at least four months later, although I had already paid for it. The reps told me that they didn't have the thing yet and I'd get it as soon as it came in. But nobody ever came by or mentioned that the camera had come in until I called to complain about it, and then magically it was in. We had to call them or we probably never would've gotten the camera.
We've had two or three times where we had issues with our security system and had to reset everything. But our stuff, for the most part, has worked. However, my major complaint is the ridiculous amount of money they want you to pay ($3500) to get out of your contract with them, even if you're moving due to your job. Our neighbors across the street had a hard time with them and wound up paying them back to get out of their contract because they could never get their stuff to work right. Vivint is not very reliable.

We're very pleased with Vivint. We had researched reviews on them and found out that they had very good reviews. They seemed to be not difficult to work with and are accessible and very manageable to reach out to. We got the security system and thermostat, and we're very satisfied with the service so far. The installation guys were very friendly and thorough. They left with the whole kit and caboodle and we have if for three years now. I have six kids, so every time the alarm got set off, the guys at Vivint were right on top of it. We live in the middle of nowhere and they quickly respond.

After they knocked a hole in my wall to install their Skypad controller, the digital thermostat was not compatible. One of the main reasons for the purchase of the system. The installer was not knowledgeable on the install. All he knew how to do was drill holes. He shorted out my wifi system and really screwed up my heating/cooling system. He started work at around 4:00 pm and left at 11:30 pm and the wifi was down and my heating/cooling system was not working, plus the entire alarm system did not work.
I stayed up until 3:30 am the next morning working on the cooling system to get it working again. Went to bed and got up at 5:00 am to get the wifi going again after another 2 hours work on it. Had to have the wifi working so the so called alarm system would work. Called customer service to report and they just brushed me off saying that I pretty much had it fixed, so what is my problem. Stay away from them. They pretty much wrecked my home and told me tough ** on my complaint.

A friend of mine who has Vivint told me about its features and the various services provided, and I was very impressed. I then purchased a service package that includes the security device, thermostat, doorbell, and camera. I also have the flood, carbon monoxide, motion, and broken glass sensors. I can see what is happening in my house on my cell phone when we’re away. If somebody rings the bell when I’m away, I can see the person on the door. I’ve got very useful features, and I'm very satisfied with the service.
I had several communications with the people at Vivint. I called them for the installation of extra sensors. They also provided a fob that I can use to arm and disarm the house, and for emergency purposes. The installer was very professional. He asked me where I wanted the system to be installed, and I showed him the basement and then the main house. I was very impressed with the installation. It took almost eight hours, and everything was tested and explained to me. I appreciate Vivint's reliability and quickness. I can speak to somebody at Vivint whenever I need to and the response they gave me has always been outstanding.

A Vivint rep was walking in our neighborhood before and we had already planned on getting it so it worked out in his favor. We have animals with us so it’s nice to have security when we’re gone. We could check on the cat, unlock the door and set the alarm with our phone as well as monitor people when they come out and do stuff for us. Their installation team was alright but there forever and some of the parts didn’t work so I had to get it worked on. My first couple of months were messed up but now everything works except for some of the batteries as they die fast and I have to keep replacing them. Overall, I’m cool with it. They knew what I needed done. We covered my baby’s room and have motion sensors right next to our room. We also got the camera in the living room and dining areas. Everything seems to be perfect and I’m happy. It gets everything that I want done and it’s affordable.

A Vivint rep came to my house and asked me if I was interested in a security system. I got the package for the doors, windows, and the smoke alarm. They seemed like nice features to have. It wasn’t going to cost us anything to have the system added to our house. All it was going to be was the monthly bill and that seemed to be a fair cost, so we decided to sign up. We bought the service seven or eight years ago. About two months ago, we moved so I’ve had two different interactions with their installation team. They were friendly, courteous, and were very well determined to get the job done right. I was very appreciative of that.

Vivint's security system has been alright and we never had any problem getting a hold of anybody. However, when we moved up in the Kansas City area and wanted the thermostat, they said they couldn't hook it in because it was on something else. Then we moved to Olathe and they couldn't do it here either. Now, we control it with our hands and don't have a remote. But other than that, we don't have any complaints.

I had Vivint years ago and then I had ADT come out. ADT talked me into going with their system. However their system was going backwards and after that contract ran out, I went back to Vivint. I called and requested a sales rep. I'm very satisfied with Vivint. It's a great company and seems to be much more advanced technologically than ADT. I got a motion sensor as well as alarms for the front and back doors and the windows. They did a very professional installation and cleaned up after everything they did.

We had our alarm system installed in July 2015. It took several techs to get the system installed in working order. We kept having issues with the camera system not working. After repeated calls, I was sent parts (that I installed) to assist with the problem. After months of the system not working properly, I requested a tech come out and fix the problem. The tech determined the panel was too far away from the wifi and needed to be moved. Vivint should have never installed the panel in the original location. I was charged for having a tech come out and move the panel even though they installed in a location that caused the issue. I called to complain regarding the charge and was told they could give me a minor credit but it was in my contract that I would be charged.

I researched all of the available home security systems in my area, and Vivint had the best overall ratings. I was not disappointed when the installers came out to my home to install my Vivint Sky system. They answered all of my questions while they were at my home and I even ended up purchasing two more security features, the exterior camera and the front door lock. They also helped me determine between the broken glass feature and the window sensors. Overall I am pleased with the system and the fact that it does everything I expected it to.

We got Vivint security system in the doors and the windows, the home cameras, and the Sky panel. The person that I initially dealt with provided good customer service. He was quick to give me any number that I needed and follow up on any email that I sent to him. The only issue that we had was with the technician. He left all the boxes piled up in our master bedroom and he never returned to finish what he was supposed to finish. So, we had a second technician come out to put in another panel that we needed upstairs. Another problem was the technicians didn't clean up after themselves.
Vivint accommodated us for our troubles that the technician left us with. The customer service has been top flight to this point. All in all, we're satisfied with the product. It was worth it. We wanted to add a few more features but we're hesitant with the installation charge that they wanted to give us. We don't feel we have to pay the installation fees every time we want to upgrade the services. I think it's absurd.

I've been very satisfied with Vivint's service. It has worked well and the one time I had a problem with my box, we got it cleared up. The control panel went out when they made some change in the service. It locked mine so I was without service for a couple of days because they had to get something before they could get it fixed. And then I received a credit on my bill the next month. Their reps took care of everything. They made sure I understand what was going on. We tried a manual reset first before we had to put in the call for a serviceman to come out. He knew what it was going to be. But I think there was something he didn’t have and he waited for several days but then it was fine. The installer showed me what he was doing and what he was going to do and went over the system again with me. We tested it and made sure everything worked like it was supposed to.
The system is really easy to use, to set, to change the volume, to make any changes needed on it and I know that it worked. It called the sheriff one time however, they did not have my cellphone number on and so they called my landline phone and it was turned over because the alarm went off and I wasn’t quick enough to stop it from being called in. So I know how quickly they responded. They came to my door and I had to tell them it was my fault it went off. I also didn’t realize that they didn’t have the right number to call me but I took care of that and gave them the correct number because they only had my landline. So I know it works and that the sheriff does respond. And I feel sure, if I ever needed a medical help, that that would be okay too.

The installation team was very pleasant. The system does what they say it will do but when we moved and I transferred our Vivint security system to our other house, I couldn't get all the window units to work. So I am dissatisfied that I don't get all of the service that I paid for. I spoke with the serviceman who was out here but he said it is what it is and they can't hook it up to the other units.

Overall system is pretty cool with our new home. We have and still are experiencing the nuances of our personnel device integration to work with the system. I can't believe I fell for a door to door salesman. They said we were a "test" neighborhood so that for $99/mo we would receive free home security products and just pay the monthly fee for monitoring. They said it's a limited time offer and we had to take them up on it while they were in our neighborhood, that the offer would not be given to other people ("So don't tell your neighbors about the price we are giving you") and that next month the price would be the cost of materials, installation and $150 per month for everyone else. He stated that we had until Monday at Midnight to cancel -- 3 business days plus the weekend -- so we went for it. He ALSO told us to lie to the company during the phone consult and state that he had a name tag on, which he didn't. (Red flags galore.)
Immediately, problems began. The thermostat that we wanted couldn't be installed, the back camera ate up our internet speed, and the front camera was worthless unless someone was two inches from the door. The rest of the stuff they installed was super basic plastic door/window monitors. What seemed like a great idea and bargain quickly turned sour. Even the salesperson straight up lied, saying we would be able to turn our oven on remotely, which was not possible in the least! Error codes popped up within the first 24 hours with the security features & the installation of everything took two days.
Feeling buyer's remorse upon waking the day after they sold us and immediately installed products from 7PM-11PM on a Thursday night, I went to FedEx, paid $20 and sent our cancellation notice to Utah. They still came out Friday to fix the back camera, despite clearly stating we cancelled. It was like they knew ahead of time that no one REALLY cancels.
Fast forward to Monday, the day we had to cancel by midnight given the three day rescission -- they received my cancellation at 8AM per my FedEx confirmation. I had my husband also email them at 5PM with the photo of the cancellation document and mention that they had received the paper version via FedEx. On Tuesday, they emailed us stating that the cancellation was received that day -- Tuesday, day 4 of the contract. TOTAL GARBAGE. My husband had to call and fight with them to cancel, which they flat out refused to do offering a discount instead. The most they offered was a $5/mo discount, which is still ridiculously overpriced for the services they offer.
DO NOT GET SWEPT UP IN THEIR SALES PITCH. This is a shady company and it is very difficult to cancel. Even mailing in the cancellation less than 12 hours after signing A contract was disputed. They still fought us on the matter. Hilariously enough, the sales guy mistakenly wrote July 27th instead of June 27th, so it was clearly received in time. (Plus the FedEx receipt AND email time stamp.. But those facts didn't matter to them.)
The company is a joke, the installers were a bunch of young kids who were friendly but obviously uninformed of the services the company provides, and I am appalled at myself for falling for them in the first place. Now we are out about six hours of installation time, $20, 1 hour in fighting on the phone, and over five days of anxiety riddled sleep. PLUS there are no less than eight holes to be spackled and repainted in our home after they drilled everything in. Do your research and do not allow them to install the day they come to your door. Buyer be warned!

I got the security system and two motion detector cameras from Vivint. During installation, the guy who came here was nice, friendly, pretty clean, and professional. He had little booties to put on and cleaned up all the mess. Then he just had to drill one little hole to mount out the system. I've had the system for a few years now, and every time I've had an issue, I was able to get a hold of somebody, and they sent a tech out right away to fix what the problem was.
The fire, freeze, and smoke detector probably saved my house from freezing one night. My heater quit working and I was working out of town so I wouldn't have been home for a couple more weeks. If I didn't have the system, I wouldn't have known it was messed up, so it probably saved me a lot of money. I've told quite a few people about it. The only downside is having to have Wi-Fi because a lot of people don't have it for some reason. I didn't have internet, so it was just another add-on as far as the bill goes. If there was some way the Wi-Fi cameras could do the work without Wi-Fi, that would be cool.

We switched the security system at the house to Vivint and I was real happy with it. They were offering things at home that we hadn't had before. I paid off our contract with Monitronics with $732.01 and I don't know where we go from here. We wouldn't have done if Vivint have a concern about the contract being paid off but we were told that if we switch that they would buy up the contract. I thought there was no problem but ever since we did that, it's just been a headache. Everything else has been wonderful except of this misunderstanding about them covering the rest of the contract with Monitronics.
I talked to so many people and we sent the contract to Vivint and told them how much I paid to buy that contract with Monitronics and we haven't heard a word. I don't know where we stand right now with them. Everything was great except that rep that I talked to who was cranky about the whole thing and wasn't cooperative with us being a new customer. My husband checked with them to make sure they got the contract that we sent. That rep said that she hadn't had the time to look over it yet for them to reimburse us for paying. We have wonderful credit and that was the reason I went ahead and paid off Monitronics because they kept calling about it and they were saying we weren't paying and that we had discontinued the service.
It has kind of spoiled having the rest of what we really like. If they can't do what they told us they would do, that nullifies the contract with Vivint. It has left a bad taste in our mouth. We certainly have appreciated everything, the camera and the doorbell etc. including the fact that they called immediately after I accidentally set off the alarm. There's been no problem. So overall, it has been a frustrating experience.

And I have been a Vivint customer since 2011. I have recently learned that since then, my monthly payments to your company have been credited to an incorrect account number. When the issue first arose a couple of years ago, it went unresolved and resulted in my service being interrupted. Somehow my husband was able to have the service restored; I am not sure if he paid the balance or how he made it happen. We have paid via our Bank of America bill pay from the very beginning and the payments were made on time every month and withheld from our bank account. About a month ago, I get a collections letter in the mail stating that the account is past due $205.00, after having made on time payments every month for more than the amount due.
After calling, being transferred numerous times to no avail, I contacted my bank and they contacted Vivint to set up a conference call. It was during this call that I learned thanks to my bank that the payments were being applied to the wrong account and your rep was able to see the account that the payments were being applied to and admitted fault with a promise to get the matter resolved. Nevertheless, an entire month later, I am receiving collections calls and emails threatening to take action if the account is not brought current, mind you, it was the Vivint rep that asked me not to make any additional payments until the matter is resolved and I followed those instructions. At this point I am beyond being extremely unhappy and disappointed with this process and I am asking you to assist in any way that you can. I have retained an attorney; however, I am attempting once more to get the matter resolved.

Brad showed up at our door yesterday and gave a very lengthy and detailed explanation of the products and services issued. He helped us decide which services were best for us by fully explaining the uses of each option. We then moved right on to install within 1/2 hour of deciding to go with Vivint. No waiting around for a scheduled window of time. After install everything the tutorial with Steve left us confident in using the new system. Very efficient.

I've had the system for one week and love it. It was easy to install and the techs were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. The camera equipment is superb and easy to use. I'm so please with the Vivint system and my purchase.

I am a VERY cautious person when it comes to my house. I have severe OCD about whether or not I locked my doors before leaving, but now that I have this, I could not be happier! The sales associate was very nice and accommodating and they installed the system not even half an hour after we signed for it! Great service, great system!
