    Salesmen was nice. Tech was nice. Finished in a reasonable time. He made sure his vape was charged by using my phone charger left out without asking. He left tools behind and instead of calling or him getting them he sent his friend to come get them at 9 pm.     The installation technician Grant was very professional and knowledgeable in his field! We really feel more secure and confident in our new system to take care of our investment when we are not home. Vivint gives us all we need in security and safety features that make sense.     This company is one of the most manipulative, deceptive, corrupt companies I’ve ever used for home monitoring. They have stolen from me for 3 years. I have proof that I haven’t used any physical monitoring for over 3 years. Provided proof recently that my loan was paid off and instead of canceling my contract like I asked, they send me to 4 different departments only to try to convince to pay for their services that I clearly don’t have or need. They offered me 3 months free after telling them multiple times the system is in storage and the goal was to cancel the contract. They lie repeatedly and throw around manipulative jargon hoping to exhaust you and you cave in.

    They tried to force me to pay another month of service just to cancel my contact. After I refused they refused to cancel my contract. That’s robbery. They hold you hostage and when you finally break free they want to charge you for your freedom. Can you imagine how much elderly abuse these people are guilty of. They disgust me.

    Beware of signing up for their trial, they are not ethical. We bought a house that had a unit in it. In December I called to see who Vivent was and understand services. Their sales person offered me a two month trial. I signed up. On Dec 9th the tech called to set up our system. I asked him about the terms of the agreement and he shared. At that point I decided it was more than we were willing to spend and we asked him not to activate our system and to cancel services. This call was recorded and Vivint has that call.

    Vivent started charging me in January. I assumed the first charge was for the tech call (he’d mentioned there could still be a charge for his time). Then there was another in Feb I initially missed, and then in March. After reviewing charges in March I called (early April). I called at 3 times and got the runaround. They are saying that because I signed their agreement (which I understood was for the trial) and did not cancel in writing (the call was recorded but they will not share it with me).

    I am held to the entire 2 year agreement. Remember, they did not activate my account. I’ve received no service which nullifies their end of the agreement anyways. To cancel the contract I would need to pay half of the life of the contract. Unless I get a Lawyer they won’t discuss it further. This is honestly the worst service I’ve ever had. They are stealing from us at this point. At this point, even if they provided the best security in the world I would never consider them as they have no ethics as a company.

Tech came back next morning to attempt to repair and still no air, even tried to put the old thermostat back on and still nothing works.     Worst Customer Service Experience – Avoid at All Costs. I’ve never encountered customer service as terrible as Vivint’s. The representatives were extremely rude and dismissive, and they make canceling their service nearly impossible. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone, being bounced around and repeatedly told I couldn’t cancel — despite having paid off my equipment a year ago.

    They ignored everything I said and kept throwing out excuses to convince me to stay, completely disregarding my decision. I had to provide proof that my cameras were fully paid off — and they still didn’t believe me. They even contacted the third-party bank themselves to confirm it, just to delay the process. After all that, they finally said my cancellation request was submitted — but then told me I’d still be charged for another 30 days without my consent. When I said I didn’t agree to that, they simply said I had no choice.

    To make matters worse, they forced me to verbally agree to misleading statements just to process the cancellation. If I didn’t say the exact words they wanted, they refused to proceed. Vivint is by far the worst company I’ve dealt with. Their tactics are deceptive, manipulative, and designed to trap you. I strongly advise anyone considering them to stay far away. It honestly makes me question why they make writing a review so difficult — almost like they know exactly what they’re doing.

He talked a lot about product but what sold us were the actual videos. Not only could we actually read license plates, we could get clear pictures of issues in real time, even from our phone from far away.     First and foremost, the technician brought his wife with him. They claimed she also worked for Vivint. They were nice, but also it was stressful for me to have multiple people in my house at once. Nothing was explained to me in detail. My garage unit still isn’t working to sync with Vivint and the sensor on my front door showed low battery and when I asked about that they told me it needed to settle in and would change. It never did.

    The guy made himself right at home and put his tools wherever he felt like - on my nice tables not taking into consideration that he could scratch them. He also sat in my chairs like if he lived here. They left my doors open multiple times not considering the air conditioner was on. It literally felt like Vivint hired random people off the street to come install my system. When they left I was stuck cleaning because the guy touched my white walls and left black hand prints everywhere. Nightmare for someone that is tidy..     Robert did a great job installing all the products but he hit a snag when trying to connect the SmartHub with the iPhone App. He spend many hours trying to debug and we had the same issue on many devices. They ended up installing a beta version of the software which seemed to work and fix the issues. Everything seems to still be working but it worries me that we are not on a stable version of software and one that is being tested in beta. I am worried that we might encounter issues in the future after our probationary period and the issues we originally had might return. With such a special issue it would be reassuring from your company that you will always be there if I need service because of this problem.     I would give them zero stars if I could. My experience started off great. The sales guy called to check in on my service that I have had for probably 7 or 8 years. He told me about a great deal they had to update my equipment and keep me right at the same price I was paying now. The day of the installation, the tech came out and instantly I could tell he didn’t want to be here like there was something else he wanted to do. He first complained about the amount of space next to my door to install the new larger camera. After I told him not to worry about it, I could get it mounted, he miraculously found a way to install it. I was getting a new panel that he hung up crooked.

    He connected all of the sensors but didn’t take not connect my Vivint thermostat to it so now I cannot control it from my app. As part of the deal, I was getting two new smoke detectors. The tech asked me where I wanted them and I said just where the current ones are. This guy literally hung two new smoke detectors next to the old ones. My house is only 1400 square feet, who needs 4 smoke detectors. I guess that is what I get for assuming but I thought he would take the old ones down and install the new ones in their place. I tried to use the chat function in their app to get the thermostat connected but kept getting transferred to another rep (3 people).

    Nothing they proposed would work to get it connected. Finally, the rep said they would get a tech out to look at it, but then we somehow got disconnected. A couple of days later, I texted the sales guy asking for a call but did not get a response. Waited a few more days and messaged him again. He was kind and understanding. He asked what day I would be available for another tech to come out. I told him the day I would be available and then it was crickets. 4 hours later, I texted to get an update and he told me he would message the local manager. 3 hours later and I still have not heard anything from them. I guess I’m going to have to bite the bullet and fix everything myself. I hear Nest makes a nice compatible thermostat.

    I had an awesome experience working with Tristan obtaining information I needed for approval and installation. The tech was late for the appointment (2.5 hours) and he had to come back a 2nd time because he failed to install 6 of the windows sensors I ordered, the glass break sensor and turn the outside camera lights on to my specifications. He was also late for the 2nd appointment time that he set up. However, all in all I am satisfied with my security system and I would recommend Tristan and Vivint to others. Tristan provides excellent customer service. The tech could use more training in that area (which is the only reason I'm only giving 4 stars). Thanks.

    If I could give it zero stars I would. I bought Vivint in 2023 and was a loyal customer that wanted to protect my home and children. I didn’t care how much I spent if it gave me and my family a peace of mind. I’m sure that’s why most families buy a security system. I paid 150 dollars for a professional technician to install it because I wanted to know it was done right. I also bought 3,000 worth of equipment. The fire alarm was installed right next to my guest bathroom. Since it was a guest bathroom the shower was never used. After my babies were born a year later I had some guests using the bathroom more often and the system kept going off for a fire alert.

    I called Vivint and they told me the fire alarm is set off by steam because the heat triggers it. Vivint knows this and informed me the system should have been placed 3 ft from the bathroom. When I asked if they could send a tech out to move the alarm for me they stated “yes it will be 150 for a tech to come move it”. EVEN THOUGH I PAID FOR THE PROFESSIONAL TECH TO PLACE IT CORRECTLY IN THE FIRST PLACE. AND the issue was a technician's error because he placed it in the wrong spot?! Tell me how that’s good customer service? They suck every penny they can out of you after they get you to sign on and don’t even protect your family from a fire. I’d hate to see how they would respond if someone broke into your home. They would probably request a fee to call the police for you… GO WITH ANYONE ELSE. I will never recommend this system to anyone of my family or friends.

    The technician was very polite and patient and was knowledgeable in his product. However, he was not familiar with the air conditioner that he was attempting to install the Vivint thermostat because the thermostat he could not install because he would have to change the wiring of the air condition so he suggested we call an air condition technician to do that. The technician said that the thermostat was not compatible with the air conditioning unit we had therefore the thermostat could not work unless he had to rewire the whole system of the air condition and that was costly. So will return Vivint thermostat. The AC person also said that our unit was top of the line and that particular thermostat was not compatible with it to function properly.
