I have fire and police features included in my Vivint service package. The company is easy to contact. Their sales people and installers were knowledgeable. It's been a satisfactory experience though I wish they reduced the price a little bit.

Loyalty and asked if I could get some equipment upgrades if I renewed for a 3rd contract. He basically told me no; the best he could do is send a tech out to make sure my old equipment was functioning. The tech came and all I got was a new basic fire detector. So I went ahead and ended my service. Even after I sent them the requested written cancellation letter and it was received, I STILL continued to get money taken out of my banking account. Their excuse was they will keep taking monthly payments until the account is closed on their end. I feel like they stole my money. And, according to them, there is NOTHING I can do about it.

Typically, when a customer would like to upgrade, we do our best to work with them to find equipment that would best work for their system and wants. If you sent in a notice of cancellation, it does take 30 days to cancel the account. During that 30 day period, the account will remain active and billable. Vivint is a good system. Our service package includes a thermostat, camera, and I have the alert necklace. We needed these features since I'm an 86-year-old lady, and my daughter lives with me but she works. We had another alarm system but it wasn't very effective so we didn't use it. We then got Vivint. I liked the feature of being able to see who’s at the door when they ring the doorbell. However, we were supposed to have one month free but so far we haven't had one. The salesman called me and said the second month would be free but they charge me for it. The service has been really good. But sometimes, the alarm goes off. We have two dogs and they stay in the house and when we set the alarm, they'll be on the couch and they'll jump off and that'll trigger the alarm. Overall, we've been well pleased with the system.

A Vivint guy came to the door and said that they were doing an install in our neighborhood. I had been looking for a security system so it was the right time that he did. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. I listened to what he had to say and I liked it. I have the doorbell where you can see the person when they ring it, an outdoor camera, and all the smoke detectors. They were real quick in installing the system and the installers were very nice. Then they went over everything with me and my husband and gave us a book and a phone number to call if we had questions. It's great and I'm very satisfied with the service so far.
Thank God I've never had to use it but I have triggered that alarm myself. It went off one time and I didn't make it in time to the touchpad. They called right away then I gave them the password and that prevented them from having to call the police. So everything they said they were going to do happened in that sequence and it was quick. I was impressed with that because that's what I got it for.

We've always had the security features but whenever we went out of the house with the old system, we had to push codes and run up the front door. But with Vivint, all we do is push the button on the front door that has the little picture of a lock on it and the whole house locks. And when we come home, we just push the code in on the front door and everything unlocks. We don't have to run to the pad inside the house and shut it down. Even if they cut the wire and if we lose power, we're still up and running. I had some problems about one of the detectors’ batteries which was running out and kept going off and they took care of it. Our interaction with their sales rep was very good. He gave us his cell number so that we can call him directly if we had any problems. Also, their installation team were all perfect. So far, we've been satisfied.

We signed up with Vivint originally a few years ago when they came through my neighborhood and then my husband decided he didn’t need it for a while and he allowed them to disconnect, and then I determined that I did need it so I called them back. I didn’t have any difficulties when I went back. The installation guy was very personable and was working through the summer. We talked about where the best place is for certain things. He came in with the intention of doing one thing and then as he talked about the security, I added a couple of other things. He handled that for me and he called back to the office. I told him what I was interested in and he had the equipment that I needed. He went ahead and installed it and everything was good. It didn’t take him long. He took me through step by step, showed me what I needed to do to get it on my phone, and my security. It was an excellent experience.

Two years ago I was searching for an alarm service and found Vivint online. I was being harassed by someone and I wanted a system that would work in case it was knocked off the wall. We got an alarm system from them and they can call me on the alarm itself if it goes off. The sales representatives, customer service department, and the installation team have all been awesome. I don't have any complaints with them at all. I'm satisfied with the service but I'm not satisfied with the cost because it's $54 a month and to me, that's an awful lot. When this contract is up, I will probably switch to something else.

I got all of the bells and whistles from Vivint because I was using ADT before and it didn't seem like I was getting my money's worth. The sales rep was courteous and descriptive about what I was getting and also with the price. He even gave me a check for $200 which I could send in to help pay off the contract when I was still with ADT. He knew what he was talking about and he helped me out, too. He told me things I didn't know was even possible with the system. Every time I needed to get in touch with him or when I was first trying, I was answered. Also, the installer took his time and he explained everything he was doing. He was good to work with. It's a really nice system that's not just a security system but also turns the home into a smart home. I'm really enjoying it and I would rate it highly.

Vivint has the best technology, customer service, and fastest monitoring response of all alarm companies! Apparently there are not many others that would agree with my positive review. Here is my experience as to why I am completely satisfied with Vivint: Fortunate for me, I have never had to deal with the door to door salesmen because I researched what I wanted and contacted Vivint myself to strike a deal that I was comfortable with. The installers were very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Well that was over 3 years ago, and now I just finished renewing with Vivint for another 3 years as they agreed to update my panel to Vivint Sky and add a door bell camera for a very reasonable sum. My monthly fees were even lowered by $20/month. Every time I contacted Vivint for support they were always very helpful and their equipment is top notch, leading edge.
Each time the kids accidentally set off the alarm they contact them immediately through the 2 way voice monitor to make sure everyone is ok. I had the service techs come back on 2 different occasions (over 3 years) to resolve issues upon which they replaced the devices at no cost to me (Equipment lifetime warranty. I now own equipment that has a 6 year warranty; can't get that anywhere else). I have been able to add a whole suite of my own Z-Wave automation devices to the system and customize it to suit my needs. Excellent system integration with multiple cameras, door locks, thermostats and Z-Wave switches. There is no other security system on the market that compares to Vivint's high quality equipment and superior customer service that I received time and again. My family agrees that Vivint is the best and we trust them with keeping us safe 24/7. Thanks Vivint.

We selected a Vivint package that was available and what we thought was most important. We have a single plug that allows us to program one light for when on “away”. It's also plugged into the Nest. We traveled to Mexico a couple of years ago and had our furnace go out. We liked the idea of being able to monitor the environment at home. The doorbell cam and the notifications that I get when somebody is at the door are awesome.
Moreover, the salesman was thorough, engaging and knew the product and the statistics well. Then, the installer came the same night and he was great. He gave us good information on how the panel worked and how to set it up. The staff was also patient with us when we made mistakes like when we walked out the back door at 6:30 in the morning not having disarmed the system. It's always a very positive interaction. However, when I set my son up as someone with administrative permission, he ended up getting all of my permission. I had to spend about an hour on the phone with a technician trying to redo my log-in password and reclaim the administrative permission from him back to me. It was a little frustrating but the service related to fixing the problem was very good. Overall, my experience with Vivint has been reliable, courteous, and very informative. I have also recommended them to my friends.

We've had a robbery here a couple of times out of our vehicles in the driveway so we have four video cameras, the motion detector, the DVR and also the wireless service from Vivint. We can use our phones to arm and disarm it. They had a good sales rep and the first installation was fine. The only thing I haven't been satisfied with was when they came and installed the two extra cameras that we requested. I didn't like the way the guy installed them. He seemed to be in a big hurry and drilled extra holes in the wall that he didn't have to, having them with gray putty on a white wall. I'm still fazed with having to paint that room again. I thought that he would get through the attic but he went through the ease of the house. Besides that, I'm really satisfied with the service.

Vivint has excellent customer service. They are very prompt and thorough, and it isn’t hard to use their product. I have a smoke detector and doorbell cameras included in my service package. The person who originally worked with me gave me some great deals. The only thing is when flyers came to my home after I signed up, I saw different promotions that they had, so I was disappointed that I didn’t get the maximum promotions that I could’ve gotten. The installation guy was very patient. He ended up being at my house for eight hours, which was very outstanding. He was hungry and everything else, but he didn’t complain. He’s very helpful, polite, and got the job done.

I have Vivint's monitors on the window and the system works. Their sales reps were respectful and patient and I didn't have problems with their installers too. I will recommend Vivint because the whole row of us in our street have them.

For safety and security reasons, I have a door chime, a motion sensor, window sensors, etc. from Vivint and I've been very satisfied with the service. I'm glad I switched over from what I had to Vivint. I like the panel box - it's better than what I had. It's been an excellent experience with Vivint.

Our package from Vivint included the doorbell and camera. Then I got another camera that I can move around. It's everything we wanted and overall, it's been great. Everybody's been really nice including the sales guy, Matt. The few times that we have set the alarm off by accident, Vivint's support center has called and checked on it and make sure everything's okay. I recommended Vivint to my son and he got it.

We have a small house and the security system we got from Vivint covered what we felt we needed. The service has been fine. When I had questions, I called and gotten an answer. The salesman explained everything very well. My husband had thought about getting a security system before, so we decided to get one on the spot. For the first few days, the Vivint sales team was easy to contact, but then when they left this area, I could not reach them anymore. I made one call and found out that they were no longer in the same state. The salesman traveled through the summer, and then when they were finished with certain neighborhoods, then they went back home.
I’m very upset about one thing with the installation, but I didn’t know at the time that it was a problem. We had an event to go to on that evening, so the installation team made sure they finished in time for us to go. They seemed very knowledgeable. The tech guy seemed to be good at what he was installing. Although, we found out later that he left two screws off of the main door that we use, so we had to have someone come back in and finish that installation.
In addition, the tech guy asked me where I wanted the access panel to be mounted, and I suggested that he could put it on the wall where I had numerous family pictures and the temperature control thermostat for our house. He installed it. Then about a week later when it got a little cooler and we didn’t have to have the air conditioning on anymore, I noticed that my thermostat was reading 84 for several days in a row. I knew that it was not 84 in the house, so we called the heating people that we use and we told them that our thermostat is broken. When the service man came, he was there for five seconds when he told us that there is heat generated from the panel and it should never have been installed right underneath the thermostat.
My thermostat was reading 84 because it was reading the heat that was coming out of the wall-mounted panel. I told the technician to put it there, but he should’ve known that it is not an appropriate place for it. There was nothing wrong with my thermostat, and it had to be moved to a different part of the wall. So today, I have to have drywall people coming to patch that hole up and a painter to come in and paint that wall. I am really annoyed that the tech person put the panel at a spot which was inappropriate. It was completely unnecessary. I’m really mad because I don’t know how much I’m going to pay for the drywall and the painting.
Vivint should pay for the drywall and the painting because it never should’ve been installed there. I’m okay that we have a service. There was a little bit of a learning curve for us. We have adapted to the system. In fact, I have told a couple of other people that we have a security system and we’re happy with it, but I am not happy with the technician who came and installed it initially.

Outside of the install guy, this company has been nothing but a problem. Doorbell camera does not work at times, the phone app is down at times, the automated garage door is broken and needs to be replaced. I call customer service to tell them my garage door opener doesn't work and the app is sending me an alert every 20 min telling me so. They tell me the app will continue to send me alerts until the system is fixed. The rep on the phone ran some tests and said the garage unit would need to be replaced.
The following week a tech shows up over an hour early for an appointment (didn't call ahead of time to make sure I was there. I was at work) and then left. The next day the tech shows back up only to tell me he doesn't have the replacement unit and it would take another week to order it... the same part the phone rep said would need to be replaced a week earlier. So yet another week of a broken garage door opener and text alerts every 20 min.

I had Vivint Security installed last week in my home. The security system itself is just fine. However the thermostat has not worked since it was stalled. Today is my 4th day without my AC working. Vivint is in no hurry to come out and replace the bad thermostat. I posted a negative comment on their facebook page and they removed the comment and never even contacted me. I have spent hours on the telephone trying to work this out. I finally did receive a nice good person this morning. However, I am told I still have to wait up to 72 hours to receive a phone call in order to schedule an appointment to have the equipment replaced.
On top of this the company did not install 5 sensors on major windows in my house after they conned me into a longer contract in order to receive the additional sensors. If all repairs are not fixed by this Saturday, I am most definitely canceling the entire service and going with someone else. This is just very disappointing. I heard Vivint was good. I had no idea their customer service was so bad.

I am extremely satisfied with the service that Vivint provides. A couple of months ago I called to inquire about an app and some other options, and they were knowledgeable and were easy to get in contact with. I've also moved my service from where I'm at now and all has been well.

We had a different alarm company years ago that Vivint bought out. We have the door sensors, window sensors, a fire alarm and a motion sensor. These features seemed to be the best to make us feel a little safer in our home or away from home. We've had wonderful service with their technicians. They've always been courteous, polite, very knowledgeable, and on time. However, we had a couple of false alarms which we were not happy with due to bad sensors but they were taken care of and their people are coming out tomorrow to check them. All in all, we're very satisfied with the service of Vivint and we've recommended them to our kids in California and they've got Vivint too.

Vivint's sales rep was very friendly. He shared a lot of good information and he convinced me to buy another service before my other service was up. So now, I'm paying for two services. I have the smoke detector, the doorbell camera, and the thermostat. And then there's a motion detector and then all the major doors have sensors and monitors on it.
It's a good system and I like that I can do everything from my cellphone. I work 50 miles away from home and if my doorbell rings, I can see who's there and I can even answer them if I want to. Yesterday, the power went out in my area. The system notified me about it and when the power came back on, too. What's happening at my house is at my fingertips. I can also unlock our house and I can adjust the heat. I've been very satisfied with the service so far. We had some problems initially with the payment but we've got that solved. The installers were also excellent. I was late on their list but they stayed there and finished it up that night. They did a good job and cleaned up after themselves, as well. I've been also trying to convince people to join them.

I purchased an alarm system with a remote from Vivint. If it goes off then somebody calls us and a mail notifies the police. The installation was good. They put the system in two years ago and I didn't have any issues. Vivint has a good service and I would recommend them.

The service package that we got from Vivint included monitoring 24 hours, smoke detector and sensors. There's also an app where I can go online and change the settings of the system, to arm or disarm it. We got these features to have somebody monitor our place because we're not home frequently. The service has been great and the sales rep that came was good and didn't over represent himself for nothing. There were not a lot of sensors that the installation team had to install. They only did an update of what our previous security company had provided like adding smoke detector. Overall, Vivint was very professional in their service. I've never had any issues with billings either.

I have the doorbell camera, a couple of cameras inside, and window sensors included in my package for extra security, knowing who's coming to my door. In case of a burglary, all images stay up in the Cloud and I can access them through my cellphone. I'm very happy with the service. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Vivint is a good company, however, they have a long wait time and I'm on hold forever. It's tough now if I call to add features. Also, I wish they would honor their referral program because I referred a friend of mine and I haven't seen my credit yet. It's been three or four months.

Poor product. I have been receiving email notifications that my backup battery is dangerously low for 3 days now. I called a couple of times and was assured that the system is connected to the main power source. I was told that I have to pay for a technician to come out that may have to pay for a new pack up battery. My issue is I only have the system for 144 days. I should not have to pay for faulty equipment. Will never recommend Vivint to anyone. I regret leaving ADT. I never had an issue in the 5 yrs with them.

We’re keeping Vivint because we can control the house from the gate, to the lights, and the thermostat. The sales rep that I talked to was cool. I only had one bad experience with a rep and already told somebody over at Vivint about it. When we were moving, I didn’t realize I had to take every part of the equipment with me. I had everything packed and didn’t have any screwdrivers and the guy was very impatient with me over the phone. On the otherhand, the installation team was great. Vivint worked with us. If I had false alarms, we get it over with and fix it. There was one time I had a problem at 3:00 in the morning and they helped me out.

Vivint has been accommodating and their service has been good. Their sales rep was a very nice guy and seemed to know his product. The gentleman who came to install it was also friendly and did a good job. He did the install in a timely manner. There were some things that he set up for us and told us how to use it. We were hoping to get the doorbell camera so if we were gone, we would be able to see who came to the front door but our house is old so our doorbell didn’t acclimate to what we wanted to put in. So we just got a camera facing our backyard and a camera facing our front yard and both are working out pretty well. We also have the motion detectors but sometimes we’ll get the notification that there’s a movement outside though we don’t see anything.
However, we have been in contact with Vivint because a representative told us that they would take care of helping us out with our old security system but it hasn’t worked out that way. They didn’t realize how much we still owed on our account so we’re just gonna work something out. It’s a pleasant experience nonetheless and I’d recommend Vivint to a friend.

The first salesman, from Vivint, who came to my door was being rude while the second salesman who came a year later had a better pitch, was very nice, polite, convincing and easy to contact after. He was very good at explaining what the system is all about as well. I got the service package that included the doorbell camera, motion detector in the basement, alarms for the two doors, garage door and garage camera, camera outside of the garage door next to the driveway, a flood detector in the basement, and a carbon monoxide or a smoke detector upstairs. We wanted a security system because there's a lot of break-ins in our area. We are in Hay Lakes and other people got broken in and their stuff stolen, especially out of the garage, with the bikes and quads.
It was very good with the installation team too. They were very polite, knew what they were doing and easy to contact. I could tell it wasn't their first time. I'm very happy with the system. I just think the motion detector downstairs in the basement might not be working. There were a couple of times I caught myself going down without disarming the system and the detector didn't go off. But it's not a big deal right now. Everything is working fine and, hopefully, it stays that way. Overall, it has been very satisfying.

I will never suggest Vivint to anyone. I received the wrong panel, no exterior sign, no window stickers and when I called to get it all corrected I was on the phone for over an hour and then I was promised a call back the next day to schedule a time for the installation of the correct panel and the sign and never got a call. So dissatisfied.

Vivint surpassed expectations. Their salesman knocked on our door and I asked questions. The conversations and returned calls were great and he was there 100%. With the way the world is nowadays, our own service package includes the cameras, the glass breaks, motion detector and the panel outdoor cameras. The installation team was a little bit delayed in arriving but they did the job and stayed as later than needed to get it done. It's been a good experience so far and I'm 100% satisfied. I highly recommend the sales rep, installation team, and the service.

I've got sensors for the front door, back door, and door going into the garage. We've got four windows that we can open and there's a sensor on each one of those. All the rest of them are the old original windows. And then, we've got motion detection through the house and on top of that, thermostat. It took them four times to set. And the first three times, they got it set. It was on heat when it should have been on cold. And it had the fan running constant just to try to cool it off, because we had it set on 70 and it was 78. So it was constantly running there for like a day and a half. We called them back the night they put it in, but they didn't get it set.
And then, we called them back two days later, because it gave us problems again. And they said, "Okay, try this." So I was trying everything. But it swamped, changed it around, screwed it up again. So they had to send somebody else out again. The third time, it did the same thing and they sent somebody else out and he fixed it. Now this last time, I had to call him because it went to auto on its own. And once it went to auto on its own, it caused our unit to quit and freeze up. Had I not called the technician that we use, it probably would have screwed it up.
Other than that, codes work, sensors work, and everything is perfect. My oldest who doesn't live with us, came, stopped to the house and get something to drink. And he knew what the code was because we told him. And we got a call from Vivint. The only problem that we had is from the time that he got in there to the time that they called. It was almost five minutes. For me, 60 seconds is way too long. A lot of stuff can happen in 60 seconds.
The reps have been respectful no matter what. They explained the prices and the system to us. The installers were very quiet as far as what they were doing. But when the thermostat went wrong, they didn't explain how to fix that. And they never have. They just came and explained it and here we are, I still don't know what to do. But the thing that we're worried about is we're fixing again into the colder part of the year and we're wondering if this thermostat is gonna end up messing up on us again, because we're gonna swamped with the heat. The last time we did that with this heat pump had screwed things up.

A sales rep with some guys came in our area as APX and went around door-to-door and got whatever business they could. There weren't any problems and the sales rep left me his business card and I called him sometime later but he was no longer with them. The technician came and we looked around and surveyed what was necessary. We also didn't have any problems with installation. They knew what they were gonna do, where they were going, and they went ahead and did it. So, I was with Vivint when they were still APX. We got external door alarms, smoke alarm, glass breaker, and a couple of window sensors. The service has been fine and everything works as it should do. It's a very good service and everybody's been nice when I speak to them.
However, the monitoring service that I'm getting now is expensive. Things have changed over the years and I know I could get the service now for less money. They provided the equipment but they've never done anything else since and I've more than paid for it in the six years I'm with them. I knew right at the beginning that they're more expensive than some others but, at the time, they were there when nobody else was. I've recommended them to several people. There's a thousand other companies going around doing it these days and so there are people banging on the door now and again. But, I've got the Vivint sign out on the front and it keeps most of them away.

We love our new security system. Everything works wonderful besides for the space monkey. I don't know why you guys offer it. It has slowed our WiFi down so much, no point in having it. We unplugged it and our WiFi has been working so much better now. But other the space monkey, we love the system.

Our Vivint service package includes cameras for the doors, an alarm for smoke and breaking glass. The sales rep was friendly and the installer was great. Other than that, it's been a mess. It doesn't seem like the technology can keep up because our phones continually go down. We've been locked out of the house. As it stands now, our front door lock doesn't even work manually and it was supposed to work where we could lock and unlock the door from our phones. They've been out here twice and nothing has even been resolved. Nobody has an answer as to why I have this and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't do it.

I got more or less every feature in the home security service package that Vivint offered, in order to have peace of mind and to know that there's always someone there to reach out to me. I haven't adapted the security system to my cellphone yet. So far, the service has been excellent and it's been very productive overall with Vivint.
The individual that came out and did the installation seemed to be quite knowledgeable in what he was needing to do. He also gave me a rundown on how to operate the system, which I appreciate because this is the first home security system I've ever had. Moreover, even though I told him not to bother with cleaning and that I would take care of it, he still cleaned up after himself.
I had one instance where I had closed the garage door and left to go to the bank, which is just up the road. My tires needed to be inflated, so then I had to go to a gas station to get air in my tires. All the while, I had forgotten that I had left something on the stove, and the house was full of smoke. So, I beat it back to the house and the alarm was going off, and there was someone from Vivint on the console trying to get my attention. Finally, I interceded and we successfully avoided the catastrophe. The Vivint guys were pretty well on top of the situation and I was so glad to know that. There's nothing like putting it to a good test.

Vivint came to my door and I purchased the wireless system from them. It went fine with their sales reps and I've no problems with the service but I wish they would identify their numbers. When I have an alarm go off, they call and sometimes I don't answer 800 numbers. I'm just glad I did answer at the time there was a false alarm.

This is the worst experience with a company. Technicians come out and nothing is ever solved. My last option is to cancel my service. I pay 59.99 a month, and was told I cannot cancel, but I can downgrade because I am under contract. I have to pay $99 in order to downgrade. It's sad they make me pay a fee, but charge me every month for services that don't work. I will never recommend them again.

The Vivint sales rep was a wonderful guy. He was very knowledgeable of the product and tried to get as much information to me as possible. The installer was great and was really adamant about making sure that I understood everything that was going on with the system and how to operate it. His personality was very engaging and I felt comfortable with him. I give him two thumbs up. He stayed for a while and had a problem with something but one of the managers came out and assisted with everything.
My package includes security, doorbell camera and two additional cameras inside the house. At first, every time I would come in the house or even try to set the alarm on in the house, the alarm will go off when I try to open the door. I got that adjusted but I would like to find out more about the features of the service than using it. Also, when the power went down once, I couldn't access the back cameras. But overall, I had a very good experience with Vivint and I like the service. I'm still enjoying my security system and I would recommend it to any of my friends. As a matter of fact, I have already recommended it to our neighbors across the street and about two weeks afterwards, they went and got the same system.

We've had Vivint for four years now. I have security service on all my windows, doors, and we have a panic button for my mother-in-law. We've had two service providers before, one of which was ADT, whom we weren't satisfied with. And my sister also had Vivint, and it was neat. As far as service and knowledge of the equipment go, they have to be top-of the-line. I would recommend them.
Their service reps are easy to contact and to communicate with. We had a couple of times we had problems with outages and we had to reset everything, but they were very helpful in step-by-step information. Also, my mother-in-law had an aneurysm, so sometimes she made mistakes of pressing the button, but the reps understood what was going on. Other than that, when something went off, we were notified immediately. The service reps have been very professional, like their installation team. They didn't leave a mess behind, unlike the first service provider we had. I like Vivint's payment service, too. It's automatically deducted, so I know that I won't overlook the bill. Overall, I have no complaints with Vivint.

We have Vivint's service package for our front and back door and a motion detector. We started traveling a little more than what we used to and crime has gotten a little bit worse in our little corner of the world so we thought it was a good idea. We love Vivint. The sales rep was a real good guy. He explained everything. The installation team did a good job. They came in and even cleaned up their mess. The one time that we had to use it, I had setup a big bomb in the house and the smoke detector went off. Vivint is awesome.

I have a two-storied house and by the time someone gets to the door, they're already gone and the camera alerts me within so many distances of the door, so I am able to see who’s there to determine whether or not I want to get down to answer it. Then Vivint came out in our neighborhood this recent time. The sales representative was very professional, friendly, and explained everything that I needed to know. There was no hidden agenda. I told him that I wouldn’t get it unless he could put me into a three-year contract versus a four and he worked it out. However, when I called up the contract is showing four, but I have three on the paper that he gave me that I signed.
I got a package that included a monitored smoke detector, doorbell camera, and a deadbolt lock that I can use a pin code to automatically lock or use my app to lock it. The installation team came out the very same day and he was super nice, very professional, gave me his number if I had any trouble within the first 30 days of him setting it up, and he was awesome. He got me hooked up within the hour. So far I've been quite satisfied and I enjoy the service. It's a little bit more expensive than other companies, but for the things that I got, I'm pretty pleased and secured with it.

I've been pleased with their response time when we had the alarms go off, and it's all been handled very well. My only complaint is the signs on the back of the house and in the front yard are both worn out. You can't read the lettering on them anymore.

Except around the house, they'll go off because they say that something's wrong with our sensors. But when I try to check it out, I can't find anything wrong with it. I don't like my experience with Vivint.

I used to be with ADT. They weren't as efficient as I thought they could be. I switched to Vivint and I'm satisfied with their service. My package included a smoke alarm, an entrance alarm, and fire alarm. I also got one of those alarm tags that one can hang around their neck. The sales rep was a nice guy. The installation team did a good job, too. They were reasonably quick, they didn't make any mess, just did what they had to do, and got on with it.

One star is too many! I've had a Vivint alarm system for over 2 years now and I wish I had never had it installed. A waste of my money. When it was first installed the motion sensors were triggered by our dogs. Those were replaced with glass break sensors and those got triggered also. One of those times a patrol just left a service report. Nothing filled out, no date or time. Just written "Please call Vivint". Was charged for it but was able to get this one reversed. The last straw was when the alarm system was set by my husband in the morning when he left, he leaves very early. I opened the door to let out our dogs and triggered the alarm. By the time I was able to shut it off the company had sent an alert.
I called to report it was a false alarm and had to wait for customer service. By the time my called was answered I was told that they may not be able to get a hold of the guard dispatch and of course I was then charged a false alarm fee of $25 because a guard showed up at my house. Why can't Vivint get a hold of the guard service to cancel a dispatch. These days most people have cell phones! I disputed the charge to no avail. There is no direct line for alarm alerts and when you do call you have to wait for the first available service representative. This system has given me nothing but headaches and no peace of mind like they said. So now I'm stuck paying for a system that is useless and unused and can't get out of the contract. I might as well flush my money down the toilet.

My daughter had Vivint and liked them, so I used them as well. Talking to their sales rep was good, but I've had some issues with the equipment. I just got my door camera back last week. It didn't work for two or three months. Getting a hold of somebody on the phone is hard when I wanna talk to somebody. They could've called sooner to check how the system's working. I'm not one to wait. I appreciate they called now but when I first got it is when I found out about bugs in the device. We had to have a new router, too. My Wi-Fi was drained because we didn't have enough power from the solar energy that we have through Vivint as well.
Their installers worked hard and did the best they could but when they left, they didn't clean up all the dirt and sawdust so I had to clean those up. Then the alarms went off on one of the devices in the bedroom. It had glue down at the center but had fallen off the window. I had to hold the device up and put it back in. It hasn't come off since.
After I got the system, my brother came and a week later, he got the things I got. He bought the same camera and equipment and put these in himself. Then there are apps where he can watch everything on his phone. I had to ask him to explain the system to me. I'm also paying a lot more than I thought. My parents have a system, which isn't Vivint but with the same stuff except for the cameras, and are only paying $19 a month while I pay $61 a month. I don’t wanna recommend it to others knowing they can get the same equipment and monitor it themselves.
But having somebody that can notify the police when there's a situation is a big aspect. It's a good system even if I haven't had to use it yet. I had set it off two or three times by accident and their response time was excellent when they called and I had to explain what happened. My wife likes the security system as well. If somebody would break in, they could kick our entrance door and break the glass out but it's nice to have the glass breaking sensor right there.

I live alone and I needed more security. There are a few people in my neighborhood that have Vivint and I know people who work for them. I got their security, thermostat and their sign that's posted outside the house. Vivint seems to be a good company to do business with and I'm completely satisfied with them.

We've heard good things about Vivint, and it was a really good deal.So I got their doorbell camera and Vivint replaced my thermostats with the two panels so that I can adjust those, then I have one central security panel and the press key lock at the front door. I can adjust the temperature, lock the door and do all that from my phone. I originally had a camera in the front living room, then I had a sales rep come and change the camera to the doorbell. She was extremely helpful and friendly. The installation team was there the same day as the salesperson, but the system was all hooked up by the time I got home. And then, when the lady came back, she installed everything herself and was there on time. She was really sweet. I was late but she waited, walked me through everything, and fixed everything that was wrong with it. Vivint has been excellent.

We have panel, a smoke detector, and fire detector downstairs. I have a subsidiary panel in the bedroom upstairs, so I'll be able to reset it if something happened. Originally, everything went pretty well. But we ended up with a couple of problems later on. And then, we had a fellow come in that really didn't seem to know what he was doing and he came back a couple of times to work on it.

I first heard about Vivint through neighbors. I didn’t really know much about Vivint. There was a customer sales representative that was coming through our neighborhood and it was in conjunction with a promotion. So we invited him in and we talked about the service. We like what Vivint had to offer so we decided to become a client. The sales representative was very professional, helpful and courteous and that’s how it was with every person who’s worked with Vivint so far. Our package has the security cameras, the doorbell camera, the smoke alarm monitors and the sensors. The promotion was where you subscribe and you can get an upgrade with the equipment. There was a $2,000 voucher. You could sign on and add certain features. Compared to our previous service, Vivint's was much better and there were features that we liked. I have recommended them to friends.
They are very prompt. Customer service and tech support has been great, very helpful. Every time that we’ve had an accident or the kids will trip the alarm, I get a phone call from a live operator via the control panel within a minute, checking in with me. There was one time where the system was tripped and we were not at home and I promptly got a phone call just within a minute of it happening. With other providers that we’ve had, sometimes there’s a lag between the alarm being tripped and the call, but it’s not the case with Vivint.

My installer was very courteous and seemed very knowledgeable. He even helped me get some extra sensors for free. However, 1 day after install my doorbell stopped working. I work full time and they initially could only find a day more than 2 weeks later that would work for an appointment to check it out. A few days later, their scheduling department called and got my new tech appointment moved up to a reasonable time. Once again a very nice and knowledgeable tech came out but stated he was unable to fix anything and that I needed to have an electrician come out to put in a new doorbell transformer. Vivint was generous and gave me a check for more than enough money to cover the cost, but it was another couple weeks before I could get an electrician out. Once I had the new doorbell transformer, I called again for another Vivint appointment to have the tech come fix my doorbell and doorbell camera.
Once again I was told there were no available times that would work for my schedule for at least 2 weeks but that the scheduling department would call me within 1-2 days to try and work out another time. About 5 days later I called back when I hadn't heard from anyone. They said they would call tomorrow and that they were very busy. Finally they called and I was able to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. I specifically asked by name for the tech who was there the last time so that there would be no confusion in regards to the wires coming from the doorbell transformer that he messed with the last time. They told me that they would send someone else. When this tech showed up, he said that he couldn't do anything and that I would have to get ANOTHER electrician to come out and figure out which wires were hooked up to what.
Luckily when the last tech was out, I saved his cell phone number in my phone. I asked if we could call him and he agreed. He picked up and was able to walk the tech through what he did and the doorbell was fixed. All of this took almost 2 months to complete, throughout which time I was paying for a service that I wasn't using. I find it frustrating that when you call to schedule an appointment, they can't give you all the options, there is a separate department for that and you can't speak with them the same day. It always takes several days to get them to call you back. Having the app on my phone is nice but other than Vivint giving a little more money than necessary to fix the transformer, they have offered nothing else in the way of restitution.

I have Vivint in both my residential and business location. My residential has the inside camera, a doorbell camera, and sensors on the doors. Then I have the alarm at my shop. The installers performed actively when they did the installation. Overall, everything with Vivint has been great and I'm able to see everything on my phone.

Vivint's service is outstanding. I had an alarm system before and the Vivint rep explained to me that if they were to cut my phone line that it would cut off my alarm also. Now, I have a box that's not hooked to a phone line, so they can talk to me directly and if my phone line was cut, it's not going to interfere with my alarm security. All my windows and doors are covered with a sensor and I have four motion detector sensors.

So far we are very pleased with the system. One note in the morning, when we are disarming the auto system we sometime get a warning that the system says that a device may not be connected. But then we can enter our code and disarm. Is this normal?

I am dissatisfied with Vivint. They told me that I was supposed to get the doorbell and the whole setup for $40 but the guy that they had come in said, "Oh, no. That's not part of the package." I had to pay extra money to get that installed. We just needed a doorbell because our door is downstairs to get into our office. We didn't really need the camera but they said that it all came included in the package. That's very misleading. I have called to put a complaint in and they said that somebody's gonna call me back but nobody's called me back ever. Their customer service sucks. Every time I call down there, I can't get anything done. It was a complete waste of my time. It pissed me off but I don't have time to go and change things up. I'm also into customer service business and they really have a serious problem.

The sales person at Vivint came by, and we started talking. Then, we decided to have it installed and they installed it on the same day. We have doorbell set with the camera, motion sensors and outlet that we can turn on and off from our phones. The installation guy was efficient. We went through him a couple of times and then he left a number if we had any questions. I placed a call back to them because I was thinking about pricing out adding a couple cameras to the system. But I never actually got a call back from them. They seem knowledgeable when I spoke with them and they explained their service levels too. We like the system and we like the service.

We live in a new neighborhood, we didn't know what to expect and my wife is a coward. We also take off for a few days, go ride somewhere, load the motorcycle on the truck and sometimes we're gone for as long as one month. We got Vivint and our service package includes the sensors for the front door, back door and breaking glass as well as the back up supply, intrusion, emergency distress, medical, perimeter doors and perimeter windows. The sales rep was a nice guy. He came in, explained stuff and hung around until the installers got here.
We have a false alarm once a month. Easily we get up and while we're up for a couple of hours we forget that we haven't turned off the system. The last false alarm happened when I just got back from a trip. I pulled up out front and pushed the key fob from the street. Apparently I was out of range and when I came in the door, I had not turned off the alarm. But I'm very satisfied with their service so far and I feel very secure.

We have had our Vivint for 2 weeks or so now. We like it but wish it was more reliable. In just the few weeks, we have had over 8 times when the app on our phones was down and therefore unusable. In addition, we have some of the best internet around this area, but still have many issues loading the cameras (live or recorded). We do live in a rural area so there may be better internet in town. The couple times we accidentally set off alarm, the monitoring folks called and were very helpful. The install technician was nice, informative and efficient.

I am very happy with my security system and outdoor cameras. We are completely secure now and I can see live video at any time from my iphone, with full view of my property. I had in the past, 2 ring.com doorbell cameras and experienced 5-10 sec delays on the motion detection cameras taking video. That often did not catch a person in full view, or a car approaching the garage. I now get full view and videos with little to no delay. Great overall system.

The sales representative was a friendly guy, and seemed to be honest. We had doorbell, glass break detector, thermostat and motion detector in our package. The installers did a good job. They explained everything to me, answered all my questions, took their time, and was patient. However, the doorbell seems to detect visitors when it's windy out. But other than that, it's doing great.

I found out about Vivint when I saw somebody coming around putting up an alarm system somewhere else and I asked him some questions. The package that I got had water sensors, a glass breaking, and motion detectors, and a thing that you wear around your neck in case something happens. The installation team did a good job. The hardest thing they had to put in was the doorbell and hook it into a wall. Other than that, everything was fine. Everything was good. The service is very good and I have no problems with it. I had a little problem with the door and they came out and fixed it. Their response time is pretty quick. The monthly fees are a little expensive. But my wife is suffering from post-traumatic stress. So, we needed it. It makes her feel safer.

The Vivint employee that installed the system in my house was fantastic. He did a full-on class with me and showed me how to do everything and it was perfect. I have the 24x7 monitoring camera and door camera. They're an excellent company, and I don't have a problem with them. Anytime I've ever had any issues with the system, I've always had prompt service, and everything is good. The girl that helped me with my keypad recently was topnotch. I couldn't ask for anything better. I recommend Vivint to everybody I know talking about alarm systems, and tell them how I'm very happy with it. It does the perfect job of keeping my house safe, and I'm very satisfied.

The installer while installing camera made the hole too big so that the wall plate will no longer cover up the hole. Sheet rock will need to be replace and the wall painted so it will match. They are refusing to pay but only 50 dollars to repair the wall which will not even cover someone coming out to give me an estimate since I live out in the country. This house was not damaged before they showed up to install and all I want is for you to stand behind your work and make it right. 50 dollars will not even cover the repairs.

The person who recommended me, has a lower monthly payment and she received a outdoor camera, doorbell & a inside camera??? When I contacted Vivint & spoke with them they she was paying 75. This lady has told me over and over that she pays $58 per month for 3 items. I only got a 2. That's not good for business???

I'm very satisfied with Vivint. In fact, I have one in my farm and I recommended my wife to get one in our house at Montgomery. At the farm is just an alarm and a smoke alarm while the one here in Montgomery is an alarm, smoke alarm, plus the feature of recording video on anyone who comes in. The salesperson explained all the levels of service to me. He was easy to contact and knowledgeable. The installation team were very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and showed me how to use the product. I say it was super great service.

I'm required by my insurance company through my homeowner's insurance to have a security system that's monitored because of the size of my house. I was with ADT before and then found Vivint through ACN. I saw what Vivint had to offer and the mobile aspect of it was really what pushed me over the edge to go with them along with the fact that they were able to use all of my existing ADT equipment and that it wouldn't cost me anything to switch over to them. I got their mobile access, the camera on the outside, window, door, glass breakage sensors, as well as motion sensors. The service so far is excellent and the mobile aspect of it is amazing. We've had numerous incidences where we went away on vacation and I've had cops at my door. I was able to talk them through because it was right on my phone so it's been great in that aspect alone.
I only had one incident with one of the technicians but Vivint's customer care team stepped right in. They stepped up to the plate and took care of the problem. The issue was that the first technician tried telling me that my smoke detectors would not communicate with the system, which was odd because it has no problems communicating with ADT system. That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me and he was trying to sell me something I was gonna have to pay out of pocket for. When a secondary technician came out, they found that it worked fine. Still, it's been a great experience.

I sold my home back in March 2016, called and cancelled my service with Vivint, did not get billed again until 6 months later. 9/25/16, I am billed $69.99 for a service that does not exist. So I called Vivint and talked to Richae ** who stated the service was never cancelled it was put on a hold to see if someone would take over the service. I told her I need it cancelled. She sent me an email letting me know what I needed to do to cancel service. I sent a cancellation email to the email address from Richae on 9/27/16. Never heard back so I sent the email again on 10/5/16. Still never heard back and was charged once again for a service that does not exist today, 10/25/16.
I called Vivint and talked to a supervisor who proceeded to tell me that I cannot cancel the service. I asked him where the service I am being charged for is as I do not own a home. He said it was turned back on at our old address. I told him that I do not own this home. His response was "oh well". I then proceeded to ask him if I have access to this system as I pay for it. He said yes. This does not seem legal to me. How can I have access to a home I do not own? He said that is where the equipment is at so that is where the service will be at. Does this seem crazy to anyone else but me??? If the new owners had any idea Vivint was doing this I believe they would be able to take legal action. I am currently disputing the charges and putting a stop payment on my bank account. This is terrible customer service and I will make sure everyone knows to never choose Vivint.

My installation hasn't been completed. The completion of the installation was scheduled two weeks ago. The installer was a NC/NS! I left work early to be home for their arrival and he didn't have the decency to call a new customer! Extremely unprofessional!! My install has been rescheduled for 10/2 after I had to call and see why the installer hadn't arrived. I'm hoping they arrive as scheduled and on time.

As I was moving to a new house, I decided to try Vivint. My son got their service years ago and he got a sign up a friend card that gave us both the discount. The security package I got includes window and door sensors, glass break, motion sensors, smoke, and fire protection. I was not always at home as much as I used to be in the past, so the house was vacant a few times. And I wasn’t familiar with the new neighborhood I'm in so I wanted to be secure.
When we first had the system in Ohio three years ago, the first installer showed me how to use the system. He was excellent and he walked me through everything very nicely. Although when we moved out to Oklahoma, we had a few problems. But Vivint has been very responsive to us. I only wish we didn’t have the problems, but they're taken cared of now. Overall, Vivint has good quality, they're reliable, and the control panel is easy to operate and fairly versatile for what I need.

With Vivint, I have access from my cellphone to monitor everything and have the doorbell surveillance and then one in the home, too. I can adjust my thermostat so it's pretty handy to have. I've had a few false alarms and they've always been nice and efficient. I've always had a very good experience with them. It's expensive, now that I've looked around but I live by myself so it's worth having. I could've gotten something cheaper but I've been happy with the service I've received.

After about two weeks of receiving the alarm system my doorbell stop working. My outlet in the house gets very hot. I unplugged it and replugged it back into the outlet. I'm thinking about cancelling the alarm service.

The installers were great, very nice and professional, and I felt really good about the work that they did. The service has been very good and we are very pleased with it. My house was robbed. I inquired about house protection and a friend recommended Vivint. I purchased their house protection and so far, it has been fine. Customer service reps were great, easy to contact and knowledgeable. They're very reliable. The young girl that came out here for the installation was okay but I didn't have any confidence in her. I complained and they sent another gentleman out who went through the whole system and made a couple of corrections. And everything's been fine since then. I have the medical alert that they gave to me at their final installation and have used that several times. They've always been right there when I needed help. I don't know how many times that they had to come down with false alarms but they have been very pleasant about it. I'm very satisfied with Vivint.

We bought our system after our house was broken into. It was expensive but the idea of home automation was cool. We sold our house but had to live in the in-laws for a while. When moving we asked what we had to bring with us. We were told nothing and that a new system would be put in the new place. When we finally moved in, I was then told I'd have to pay $250 to get a new panel because I didn't bring it. I fought for a while and the best they would do was a free new panel if I extended my contact to 42 months. I wasn't happy. I contacted the new owner of my old house and actually got the panel. Great! Let's call Vivint. OK it will be $100 to install in the new house. Huh? I didn't know that! Fine. "Oh your old system had 22 points. We only install 12. You can buy the test."
You've got to be kidding me! Nope! I already paid for them, was told not to bring anything and now I have to pay again? Unacceptable. The kid offers me 18 which is better but still no good. I talk to Dakota who is a supervisor. He offers to cut installation in half but still have to buy the remaining points. I am so fed up at this point. How many hoops will these guys make me jump through? I ask to soak to a manager. Dakota won't let me. Are you serious? I've been in the customer service industry for more than 15 years. I know how customers should be treated if I want them to remain a customer. This is not it. I'm done with this company.
They clearly don't value me as a customer. I'm sure I have no recourse here and will have to pay out my remaining contract. I don't blame the first kid. He was doing his job. I don't blame Dakota for the policy as he didn't write them. Refusing to allow me to escalate this is absurd and I would never hire him to work in my department. You guys need to take a page out of Target customer service. They treated me like a king this week while you treated me like a leper infested peasant. I can't wait to kick you guys to the curb and find a company that actually wants to work for my business. So glad I didn't choose them for my solar provider.

At the time when I got Vivint, I was gone a lot with my job and I wanted the added security for my house. I got it on all my doors, windows, camera, key fob, the automatic door lock bolt on my front door, and the 24 monitoring. So far, I'm 100% satisfied with the service. They’ve been very cooperative. They are eager to help me out. If I had any problems, they stayed right with me until the problem was solved. Pricewise, they’re one up a little bit more than I like for the same service that others offer. They need to watch their prices. Other than that, the service has been fantastic.

I got the Vivint package with the door lock, doorbell camera and the yard sign with the solar lamp. Those are important to me and the light adjustment feature is great, too. I get to turn the lights on from my phone. Their sales representative was nice and he has good customer service. The installer was behaved and the service he gave was really nice. He cleaned up after doing all the installation. And one time, when my system had a problem at the beginning, Vivint fixed it on my one call, and that was great.

I have a service package from Vivint that included window monitoring because I have windows that I wanted to be monitored. The Vivint sales representatives have all been very helpful. But there was an incident, particularly regarding auto pay, where I didn't agree with their representative, as soon as I realized what was going on. As for the installation team, they did what they were supposed to do.
Concerning the system, I had a glass break and my alarm didn't go off. Vivint called. But because Vivint's number is not programmed in my phone, I thought it was a prank call so I didn't answer the phone especially that it was at two or three o'clock in the morning. So I woke up to the police banging on my door, ringing my doorbell, and they said my alarm went off. I told them it did not. The phone call goes out, but I did not get an alarm message. Vivint needs to have the number that they’re calling from come up displaying Vivint in my phone so that we're aware. I did answer their call one time and their representative asked me if I was okay. It has been good overall.

Vivint was really good up until about 10 months ago when we had an issue with how long it took their tech to come out and upgrade our systems. By the time they came out we went to cancel our service and they said that our time to cancel it started back when we first initially ordered it even though it took two and a half weeks for the tech to first come out. It was a huge ordeal and we were not very happy with it. So right now we're stuck with it and when our service is done I'm not sure what we'll do.
I got it installed in January of 2016 and then just about three months ago in August, we moved. So all the stuff got moved in that six month period. At our other house, there were big issues of communication between the doorbell camera and the camera kept losing signal. And then the main issue was the push button entry on our door lock. And the tech said that he was adding these two modules to try to improve the signal strength But we didn’t have service at that time because of the issues.
The tech said to call back and explain that we didn’t have service and they’ll give a service credit. I called this guy and he tells me that they gave us all these modules and I replied that the guys put them in just trying to make the push button door lock work and not to make it seem like we were gifted all these things when they were just trying to make the system work and it was just downhill from there.
There are other systems out there that were cheaper, so we called to cancel and then they said they would provide some features. I said okay. Those are nice features and they're gonna throw it in and pretty much at cost so we went with it. Then we had an interaction with one guy that I actually ended up filing paperwork with Vivint and hopefully the recordings of our call were pulled up and he got fired because he was completely disrespectful. Overall, Vivint has nice service, but there are cheaper options out there that need to be considered.

I’ve had a client who bought Vivint and she liked it so we got it, too. We did the door lock and the doorbell but I don't care too much for it. A lot of times, I can't get through the doorbell to talk to anybody that comes to the door. As for the false alarms, instead of them taking over the whole system, they went through the wiring system but they finally resolved the issue about a week ago.

I have a Vivint alarm system one month ago. There are still problems with the system. Tomorrow is the third technician's visit. Hopefully they finally fix the problem. I paid more than $100 for installation and I have to pay $80 each month just for the basics. I already sign, but there are plenty better options out there. Look for it. Do not get Vivint!!!

Many months after moving from a rental unit I find I am on the hook for a substantial amount (many times the price of comparable equipment elsewhere) for the *free* equipment in spite of assurances from the salesman and customer service that if I gave proper notification moving and/or canceling would not be an issue. They clearly just meant not an issue for them.

System is clever and easy to use. Was disappointed with exposed wire necessary for installation but I can get over it. Only real deficiency is the fact that the cameras go offline from time to time. Installer said that is my problem not Vivint's. If this persists we may try another service.

I heard about Vivint from my best friend originally. I looked them up online, saw what they had to offer and got their regular monitoring thing. The guy who came out to do the actual system was great, very informative, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. But sometimes it seems like the audio on the actual piece of equipment itself isn’t that great and the words get choppy. Other than that, it’s good.

Vivint reps came by the house, I talked to them and I decided to go ahead and get it. I also got their door sensors, fire alarm and motion sensors. They told me it'd be best to put in the house when they came out and checked it out. So far, their service has been great and I've been using them for six years now. The only problem I have with them is getting the part of my phone work again because it doesn't always work and it kicked me out of it. So, I gotta call them back. I'm sure they'll get it straightened out. I just haven't had a chance. I talked to somebody when they called me up and tell me it's time to renew and I usually do renew it because I don't see the reason not to. They've upgraded the whole system because it was out-of-date. The only problem I have, which is my own fault, is not being able to call them and get the system set up again.

Very happy with the system and what was done. My only complaint is that the follow up is terrible. In fact I have tried to contact my sales rep numerous times to add more to my system but cant get him to call me back.

I had another security company before. About every couple of months or so, I'd set off an alarm just checking it, and I got to where I went over a six-month period, I was doing once a week setting off the alarms and they never contacted me. So, I called them up and told them they can have their equipment and forget it. Then David from across the street told me about Vivint.
The service is fantastic! There's been a half dozen or more times I've accidentally set the alarm off. I forget it's on when I get up early in the morning, open a window, and the next thing is that I'm getting a phone call. The people that call me are doing great. That alarm will barely start going and they're on the phone calling right then.
Plus, every one of the sales reps has been really good and polite. They'll ask me the few questions they're supposed to ask. I answer the phone, they'll tell me who they are and then I'll tell them the password and how I accidently opened that window. Also, the installation guy did great. It was one man coming in and he went over everything thoroughly really good with me. And he left me a card with his name and phone number. So if there's any trouble at all, I just call him and he'll let me right away and straighten it out. Everybody's been really good and courteous. I've told a lot of people, and a couple of my friends got Vivint installed in their houses since I got it put in mine.

We moved into a new neighborhood and really weren’t knowledgeable about it so we decided that having a security device would be a good thing. Our Vivint service package includes the camera on the doorbell, the pad and a couple of cameras inside the house, but we don't have the window things. We’ve been very happy with Vivint's service except with one thing. We can hear the person on the camera on the doorbell but we cannot talk to them and we’ve been telling Vivint about this a couple of times. In fact, a lady named Della who said she's a representative from Vivint sent me an email about a month ago and I gave her my exact thoughts on this through email explaining my complaints. She had not responded to me since then.
We know this is a high-end deal for the price that we pay per month. It’s still not working and nothing has been done. Their rep on the phone told me that, “Oh, it’s a bug that we’re working out.” Well, this bug has been in there for a long time and I’m paying $60 a month for not the complete service. I don’t know why Vivint doesn’t give me either money back or reduce the amount until this thing gets working. There are other places that are somewhat comparable like $30 or $40 a month.

Vivint is awesome, and I have no issues. Their sales rep was very good. He explained the different service levels to me, and I ended up purchasing the service package that has a camera. The installation team did a really, really good job as well. They were in and out, and actually came back a couple of times for something at my request.

We have two cameras for the back, a doorbell with a camera, and all the sensors on the windows and the door from Vivint. Their reps were very polite and very professional. They worked together and got the job done quickly that night. Everybody was very knowledgeable in what they were doing. Vivint also responded really quick when my wife triggered the sensor in the garage about three or four times.

I have been a Vivint customer for exactly TWO WEEKS. They have already wasted no less than 10 hours of my time. The first installation, which took 4 hours, was a complete mess and had to be completely redone from scratch, as the 2nd tech said. 2nd tech came today (3.5 hours) and lo and behold the tech left equipment behind, still shrink-wrapped in its packaging. He failed to install it.
When I called Customer Service, I was told, after speaking to the guy for 30 seconds, that I didn't need that equipment. It was clearly decided by two employees who spent more than 30 seconds with me that YES, it is needed. Spoke to C.S. earlier this week for 1.5 hours. Currently on the phone for over 30 minutes. I would never suggest this company to anyone. Speaking currently to a supervisor and he can't even connect to my system because 2nd tech didn't know what he was doing either. Two weeks with Vivint is too long. I am canceling today. Supervisor was supposed to transfer me to that department and GUESS WHAT??!! I've been disconnected!

We have the little alarm code box from Vivint and we've been very happy. Every time that the alarm goes off, we're notified in a second or two. They're on it quick. The burglar alarm respond to anything. One time our little dog sneaked out, and she activated the sensor. It was so funny. We were flipping out thinking what's going on. So, we looked on our cameras, and we could see her sitting on the sofa, she activated the sensor. Anytime we've ever had anything, they've always taken very good care of us. Everything was quick, good, and to the point. Keep up the good work. We don't plan on going anywhere.

I got my system installed on 10/8/2016 and on Vivint website. They have offer for new customer which is free installation, 50% off activation, 1 free automation device and up to $1500 worth of equipment. Well they put me on the $60.99 plans and the equipment I got are: a skycontrol panel, 1 door sensor, 2 glass window sensor and door camera. I told the sale guy that I want smart door lock and indoor camera. He then told me my total monthly will be $75.99. So I called Vivint back and cancel my service because I still on the 3 days free trial. The sale guy or the loyalty guy ask me why I want to cancel my service. I told him that I feel like I got rip off by Vivint. He asked me to tell him why I feel that way. I told him first I do not believe that all my equipment are add up to that 1500. He stated that everything I have is correct and started giving me the price to each individual item.
I was shock to hear that the skycontrol panel alone cost over $900 and since I have all those item added to it that why my monthly bill go up. So I end up canceling my service with Vivint because I do not believe that the panel cost $900!!! What I don't like about Vivint is that they don't show the item price. They added everything up and give me a total price after the 4 years contract which is very high $3,407.

My friend recommended me to Vivint under the "if you refer a friend, you and your friend get $50" offer but we never received the $50. Other than that, Vivint is a great company. The installation team showed me how to use my system and how to program it when I’m inside. They also showed me how to do the panic if something was to happen, to go ahead and put the secret code so that everything would turn off but it would still be on and will let them know that there was something wrong.
I'm very thankful for everything that this company stands for. Thanks to them I prevented a robbery. There was a robbery a few doors down and they tried to break in at my house. They stole my camera from the outside and they tried to rip out the doorbell but because it was screwed on tightly, they were not able to take it. Thanks to the videos I have on file, the robbers were captured and all the stuff including TVs and rings were returned. I'm very happy with the service from Vivint.

I signed a contract 4 months ago with the understanding that it could be cancelled if I continued to pay a higher rate, as I knew that I would be moving and did not want to continue the service. Now I'm told I have to pay off the entire contract at about $1200.00. The representative refused to discuss any other option for cancellation.

I decided it’d be time to have a security system so I got one from Vivint. I got a doorbell camera and an inside camera. A lady came out and set up my system, and she was out there for a couple of hours. The system itself is okay, however, their customer service sucks. I had existing window contacts, and they told me it was my responsibility to replace them. They said if it would’ve been their contacts, they would’ve changed them, but they were already there so they're not covered. Had they told me that, I would’ve had them change them all. In addition, the cameras don’t always pick up like they’re supposed to. I’ve had people come to the house and drop off packages and the cameras never go off.

We have Vivint's window glass break detector and cameras on top of their regular security system so we can keep an eye on our kids and our dogs. The service is great and any time something’s wrong with the alarm, Vivint would always notify us really fast. When my son set off the smoke detectors, they responded quickly.

Service is very bad. I was told by your service rep my bill would be $60.00 a month. When I got my bill it was $66.00. I was promised a free glass break in my house. Still waiting. Told people from your company it had to be after 6 pm. They keep on making early appointments. So if you think I'm happy I'm not. Fix these issues and make me happy again.

I feel safer at my house with the cameras and I can view areas from my phone. I have had a couple of issues with Space Monkey, but trying to get that resolved. Be aware that after 120 days there is a $50 service fee if they need to come out and fix something.

Vivint didn't have the doorbell cameras then when I got their system but I have window breaks, key fob, lights and a couple of other things. I’m a gadget person and I like those features I already had previously in an alarm system that I had when I moved into the house. It’s easier for me to go in and out and I don’t even have to have a key, especially the door that I normally go in and out of all the time. The installation team was awesome and they cleaned everything. But they had to come back because something wasn't right. They went through it, explained everything, and showed me how all of it worked. Everything now is pretty good, except my last encounter. I had something wrong with the monitor and they said it’s going to cost me to get it fixed. That I didn’t understand but I’ll do what I have to do when that time comes.

My daughter is part of an organization that offers Vivint as one of their services. We purchased cameras and the whole security system package for our church. The alarms are placed in different areas of our building, so somebody may come in downstairs and use their code and then forget or open the door upstairs because they don't have a key. So, it's been a challenge trying to train people how to use it. They also told me that we would have some type of automated computer thing called "Space Monkey", but we've never gotten it set up. But other than that, we are very satisfied with it. They are one of the best companies I've ever worked with. Every time I've had an issue and had to call, they have been wonderful about walking me through it or helping me with it.

I have three different alarm companies. I have ADT and a local company here in town, and I'm very happy with their service. But I wanted to upgrade because I wanted to use my smart phone. I wanted the convenience of having the cameras on my phone. Vivint has all the latest technology, so that's nice. I got the doorbell cameras, the alarm, and the panel from them. The sales rep was fantastic. I'm happy with Vivint and I like my Vivint system. So far, the alarm hasn't gone off yet, and that's a good thing. But I'm a little frustrated with my camera. It doesn't seem to log as much as I would like it to. But that may be due more to a technical error on my part.
At first I had some technicians that were not from Vivint. They were from the sister company. They took a good, working system out of my house to put that one in, and I was very unsatisfied with the system that they put in. However, I was satisfied with the guys because they were doing everything they could. They were trying to use some of my old equipment with the new ones, and it wasn't working. So, I was very frustrated that I went three days without an alarm and it was working when they came.
But then the actual orange van guys from Vivint came out and got the system working within 15 minutes. They've given me wonderful customer service. They've even called me and checked up on my system since then to make sure that everything's okay. In fact, I've gotten two calls and it's been quite a few months since they've called me randomly to check. I have referred other people to them, too.

We were led to believe that a free two week trial with the service was offered with no hassle cancellation, and no requirement to buy. Deciding to cancel the service after one week, we tried to call and cancel the service, not needing it. We have been given the run-around from the customer service representatives multiple times, and while trying to cancel the 'free trial', they instead charged our account $164. Without our permission. The sales guy requested a voided check upon initial set up in case we decided to go with the service, but other than that had not given any payment authorization or permission. This company is a scam, dishonorable, and complete liars. DON'T USE THEM.

We have an alarm system, doorbell camera, a Nest thermostat, interior camera, garage door opener and electric front door key included in our Vivint service package. Their sales rep was a very persuasive young man. I felt like it was a hustle, but I knew what I was doing. I did like the system and at that particular time, I was looking for something like that for situations where we would have to be away from home for a fairly long period of the time. The first installation group didn't do a very good job and didn't know exactly what they were doing. But the second group did great. Everything worked well.

We got the doorbell camera, thermostat, and sensors included with our service package from Vivint. We also have a backdoor camera and another one that they’re fixing now. So far, the service has been good, but it’s a little expensive, though. My mother had to call the customer service people at Vivint a couple of times, and she’s been satisfied. She says that they get to the point and help her out a lot.

My service package includes the doorbell cam, the air condition thermostat feature, window features, an extra camera, and I have the Alexa unit. I feel safer with those features and I like to have knowledge of who's gonna be at my front door and nice to be able to have a camera in there. The salesman and the guy who installed it were both awesome. They gave me a little pamphlet with both of their names and numbers in it and I've called both of them since I got the alarm. They've both have called me right back to answer my question. I got new wireless internet in my house and I had to switch that all over with Vivint, and it was really easy on my panel so I was impressed with that feature. One time though, I had an alert that there was a window broken but there really wasn't any and it's maybe only my dogs barking. But the service has been good so far.

I already had security cameras at my house but Vivint's system was more upgraded than what I had so I got their security package that came with a thermostat and cameras. I feel more comfortable with the system because no matter where I am in the world, I can go on my phone and pull up any image which has been done for that day or days prior to that. If I'm in Africa and somebody rang the doorbell, I can see it and they may think that I'm inside the house, so it's great. It's very convenient and impressionable.
The installers were very helpful and were there to answer any questions we had. They even offered to clean up after, though I did it myself as I wanted things done in a certain way. I'm very pleased with Vivint's service. They've delivered on everything that they told me and my husband. It's been really wonderful and it all started with their sales representative. If their reps continue the way they present themselves and the professionalism and expertise they have when coming to the door, Vivint is going to be very big in the upcoming years. I would recommend the company to a friend or a co-worker.

Paid on Sep. 23rd. Half of install completed at 2am. The install quality was poor, and has resulted in us either not using the system, or not being able to open one of our doors. Completion of install has been rescheduled 4 times. I'm waiting right now for the installer.

I sent an email earlier concerning problems on the first day with battery alarm and sensor falling off door. I was concerned about a 74% battery level on entrance alarm. I was also expecting to get copies of all documents that I signed. I did not receive an answer except email said they would forward to appropriate person.

We love Vivint. We had a problem with our main circuit board and they came out and replaced it. Something happened and it kept beeping then went offline. We were finally able to isolate that and fix it. It took a little while but we had someone from Vivint talk to us over the phone, and then we had to have someone come out and it got fixed. So now, it's fine. The Vivint installation team was great even at 10:00 o’clock at night. It took them about an hour to get everything. We had an old security system and we hadn’t been linked to the servers for a while, but they were able to do some modification. Vivint is a very professional company and they go out of their way to try and make things right. If they don’t get it right the first time, then they stay on it till they get it.
I didn’t know what I needed at first and Vivint sold us features for a camera and a thermostat. I thought my thermostat was fine but it turned out to be good. I don’t like being linked to a satellite but that’s the way of the world now. But then we had an air conditioning unit put in about ten months later and the AC installers took the old thermostat. I wish I could get it back because we could get credit for it.

I have cameras and sensors included in my service package from Vivint. The Vivint installation people cleaned and put everything on. Everything was great. I also open the doors with an app on my phone. The only thing is that I'm using an Android operating system, and when someone rings the bell, it doesn't instantly ring me on my phone. By the time that I click on the Vivint application and then try to open to see who is at the door, the person has already gone. I need to check the recording and see who was there. So, I don't see the benefit of that. Other than that, I'm happy with Vivint.

When Aaron came around our neighborhood to sell Vivint services I was reluctant to do so. I didn't want to be in a long term contract. Aaron told my husband and myself that if we ever moved and we could not get Vivint services at our new house that we would be let out of our contract. So with this in mind I got the service. The service was okay. Pricey for what we had. So we sold our house and moved. I called Vivint to cancel our service because our rent house has their own security system and we could not change it to Vivint.
The person I talked to told me I would have to pay on it for another 22 months unless I could find someone to take over the contract. Wait a minute. That is not what Aaron told me. She stated she couldn't do anything else and that was the end of our conversation. So I have continued to pay for something that I am not using. They didn't even offer to change my plan to the lowest offered plan. I had to call and talk to Cody for that to happen. They are "polite" but not very helpful. I told Cody the story and he just said "yeah" and put me on the lowest plan. I will be telling anyone I know not to use Vivint.

Our security system was installed 30 Sept. 2016. After 1 day the panel failed leaving no coverage for 48 hrs. The tech who installed the system did so without explaining or testing the sensors. The motion detectors were left on low sensitivity and offer very poor coverage. Only after I did some research while testing them on my own did I adjust the sensitivity. Another tech came out today and installed a new panel and completely inspected the sensors.
My other complaint is the person selling the product on the phone never disclosed anything about needing a designating plug for the panel. This was a major pain in the butt and an eyesore. It's also incredible that 2 different installer can give such drastic opinions on the sensors. The people at Vivint are very nice but I'm not convinced the product is one I feel secure about. I was told Vivint will allow a person to cancel before 60 days after initiating service. I'm leaning in the direction of finding another provider for my security needs.

Vivint is security for the family. We purchased a service package with thermostat, camera, and glass break sensor. We then had an issue with the thermostat and they came out, fixed it and upgraded the satellite thing that goes inside the alarm system. Their sales representative was very knowledgeable as well. He answered all our questions and was very attentive. The installation team asked me to verify that we had made the appointment and what the issues were, and if we had any issues other than what we had discussed over the phone. It’s been a very good experience and service overall.

I had a little trouble with the installation because they did some things wrong when they first did it and had to come back and do it for the second time. I also had some trouble with the system back in May when somebody had to come out here and replace the monitor but it didn't cost me anything. The only thing I don't like now, the price is too high. Having said all that, I've been pretty happy with Vivint.

I had understood that the outside camera had night vision. It doesn't from what I can tell. Please let me know if you have a camera that does have night vision. The camera defeats my situation. I wanted the night vision so I could see the driveway at night.

I've been fine with Vivint and it's been great. My absolute favorite feature is being able to control my air conditioner and lock all my doors from my phone. That's always handy. I can turn the air up when I'm gone and when I'm close to coming home, I can kick the temperature down. That's really helpful with the electric bill and keeping things at the right temperature.
They also have knowledgeable sales reps. My only disadvantage is the four-year contract. We're moving and gonna stay with my mom until we figure out which area we're gonna buy our next house. I still have a year and a half left in the contract which I'm gonna have to pay. If I have a two-year contract, I'd be out of contract and then we can do some sort of a different term. I would still have gone back to them when I get a new house, but I'll go with AT&T by then because it's not a four-year contract. Otherwise, I really have enjoyed my Vivint experience.

I had a lot of trouble with Vivint in the beginning and it was terrible. The Vivint rep that came to my front door made it sound like she was from the company that I had at that time and I didn't realize that until we got more than halfway through. She told me to give the installer the check which I did but he lost it. I had to write a letter to the corporate people and tell that everybody was telling me I needed to pay even if I didn't need to. But after all that, my experience with Vivint has been good. I have a medical bracelet and every once in a while, I set it off accidentally and their team members answer right away. Also, if we accidentally set off the alarm, they're right on.

Your technicians, on Friday evening (30 Sept) rebooted the system to make the door lock/unlock feature work. Unfortunately, less than 48 hours later, this feature is intermittent at best! As a retired electrical engineer I experimented with my smartphone and found that this morning, the door lock/unlock feature fails if I am more that ten feet from the door. I consider this to be a most important feature for myself.

I went online searching for the top alarm systems and found out about Vivint. Now, I have the smart home on my phone with a smart thermometer, the two smart outlets, and the door locks. It is extremely convenient to be able to control my system. I love the fact that everyone can have their own key code to come in with the door lock. It's been so convenient when my parents have the need to stop by the house and I was able to unlock it from work. The only drawback with the system is that the custom action only allows us to schedule stuff either every day, if not just weekdays or weekends. A whole weekend feature that we can turn off and on per day should be added. Despite that, I am still highly satisfied with it. I recommend it to everyone every time the alarm system conversation comes up.

Vivint is a great system. Their sales rep and installation team were both very good and professional. I'm pleased with the system and the service. Both the initial set up, along with the aftercare as well. Unfortunately, I've set the alarm off a couple of times usually through cooking, or not being aware that it was engaged. But their response has been very quick, which is good.

A rep named Barbara told me about Vivint. She knows I'm by myself so she told me it would be important. It was sold to me through a friend of a friend. They sent me some stuff online, told me to go through their website and walked me through. After they did that, they showed me how it'd be used. Before I moved I had just the locked door. Now I have the camera in the doorbell and the glass break detector. I loved it from the beginning because I can look and see what's going on when I'm not home. I had some workers there for a couple of days and I could see everything they were doing, making sure they weren't messing with anything like using some of my stuff when they weren't supposed to, and the system was very good. It's the greatest.

With the first contract we had with Vivint we had the regular panel with the door and window stuff, the shattered glass and the CO2 detector. Up until for the last four years, we had a great experience but the last couple of months have not been great because no one can seem to get us an answer on why they are charging us for two contracts since April. We’re in a second contract now. I talked literally to 43 different people in four weeks. We really like the actual alarm system but customer service has not been fantastic.

Vivint's customer service is frustrating. Here is the most recent experience which accurately reflects my contact with this company over the last three years. I've been corresponding (by email) with Shawn ** from Vivint. Prior to that (late August) he called to ask why I mailed a cancellation notice (in June of this year). I explained that the company is difficult to deal with - multiple departments that supposedly don't know what the other is doing, long wait times on the phone while being switched to different departments (today I was switched to three different employees in three departments), and a general attitude of apathy regarding their service ("Yes, we've been told our company is not doing well in the customer service department, or so our surveys have told us", and then that very same person won't return my call/email).
Shawn sent me an email on September 2nd offering a very good price for two more years of service, along with an apology on behalf of the company for the difficulties I've had. He also stated in his email that I'd receive a refund on my account because of the trouble with the cameras (yet another story). I replied and said it sounded ok and to let me know when I could get the last sensor installed (yet another story) and we'd go from there. I was encouraged because I've received several calls from Vivint since cancelling but they all ended with a mere, "Thank you", after hearing my story with no effort to apologize, offer a good deal on a new contract, etc.
Today is September 30th and I haven't heard a thing back (yes, he really is from Vivint). This is typical behavior (in my three years with this company). Today I called and discovered that there wasn't a record of our conversation, nothing to indicate we had spoken (or so stated Joanne, the first of three people I had to speak to). After being on hold, and switched around for approximately 20-25 minutes (common) I was able to determine that Shawn hadn't left any notes, that I will be getting a refund for one month (out of a three year contract) for the cameras that didn't work, and that I never want to deal with Vivint again. I was also told that I couldn't speak with Shawn as no one knew where he was and he probably wasn't working there anymore (I've heard that same excuse before).
TLDR: 1. Expensive contract (which can be overlooked but for #'s 2, 3, and 4). 2. Customer service offers help that they don't deliver consistently. They are polite but insincere. 3. Fragmented departments where it seems no one knows what is going on so I'm switched from department to department having to retell my story or ask my question numerous times. 4. Nothing but weak excuses and no improvement for the lackluster customer service although at least one employee admits the company is known for bad customer service. Thank you. The install tech was okay. He took longer than he should have, left twice and came back and then rescheduled to come back on a Sunday in the morning and then texted me that morning and said he couldn't come until the afternoon. He also forgot to give me the outdoor sign and told me for over a week that he was going to bring one by and still hasn't. He drilled two holes in two different walls and just put some white patch on it. Also he gave me almost dead batteries for the door lock that I had to replace 3 days later.
The system has been okay. I have a tech coming out today because the back door camera is not working right after just 2 weeks. The customer support hasn't been that great. I called in earlier this week and the customer loyalty agent I talked to could not answer my questions at all and said I should just talk to the tech when he is at my house about my account which I thought was weird since the customer loyalty agent should have my account info in front of him. The reason for calling the customer loyalty line was because due to the back camera not working I wanted to see if they would work with me to add one door sensor to the upstairs balcony door.
When the camera wasn't working we had painters there and he was able to, on camera, bring in a ladder and climb up to the balcony without being detected. I currently have two friends who have seen the system and like it but I am hesitant to refer them due to the customer service I have received so far. I feel that now that I am in contract the people I contacted could care less about helping me.

My home was left unprotected for a couple weeks now. The tech has never returned to finish installing cameras plus the evening he left, I armed the system and went out. 30 mins later I received a email stating my home has activity which the police came out. Another message stated the break glass has become unattached from the wall. I made several calls to the sales guy and the installation tech. No one has come back to fix this problem. I have not been able to use this system.

Vivint's doing a very good job for us. We use them for solar as well as security with cameras. We needed the security system because we're always on travel. We had a problem with the camera at one house and they came out and got it fixed to our satisfaction. They also installed a new camera. They have an excellent team and the only regret we have is we didn't use them sooner. We recommended them to our friends and they've opted to use them.

Vivint is a good company however, I've only had the system between April and June and now it's not working. I have to get a new doorbell camera. The first time they scheduled an appointment was on September 23rd. I got a call two days before telling me that it won't be that particular day, it'd be the day after. I had already called two weeks prior to the appointment. And then on the 23rd, I got a call telling me that they won't be able to do it. I have to wait two more weeks before they can get the camera out. They said that the inventory was low and they were waiting on the doorbell cameras. I don't mind, I can wait but I wish they would have let me know ahead of time because I had plans. So, I had to cancel what I had to do for two days straight to wait for Vivint to come out but then they didn't come. Now, they're supposed to come on October the 10th, Monday.
Aside from the doorbell camera, the panel also went out before but it's working now. We called them about it but it took them a while to get it fixed because thefirst three people I talked to kept telling me it was my wifi. So I kept calling my internet provider, only to find out it wasn't my wifi. By the time I got to the fourth person, she told me, "it sounds like you lost connection from your doorbell panel to your outdoor camera." So they sent a technician out who told me that the transformer went out. Then they sent someone to fix it and it started back working. Then another week or two later, this issue with the doorbell camera happened.
But I like Vivint so I would still recommend them to a friend. It's just that they need more people closer in the area, so that in case something like this happened, they can get to it as soon as possible. I know they're doing the best they can but it's the inconvenience for now because of the kids getting out of school. My oldest son is in high school and I don't want to unlock the door for him just assuming that it's him at that particular time coming home. Because when the doorbell camera works, I can actually see him.

We had a young man who was in our neighborhood and he was promoting Vivint, so we decided to switch from ADT. The young man who came in and installed it did an excellent job. Occasionally, the system will shut down, and we had an episode with it where our cameras were not working in our room. But I called one of Vivint's techs and he went through the stages with me, and we got it corrected. He did an excellent job in that regard. So overall, it’s been a great experience.

We have been long customers of Vivint at our other property, so when we were looking to upgrade our service at our second property we contacted them. My husband worked with a Sales Professional named Tyson ** and he advised of him of all our needs with the security system. He advised Tyson that our home has 3 levels and we had a security panel on the main level and in our master bedroom. At no time did Tyson advise that Vivint does not provide a secondary panel for the bedroom or another floor.
On the day 9/15 of the install the technician blew out the transformer for the doorbell while wiring up the doorbell camera. He said he "fixed" it and also plugged in a power source for the doorbell. We learned later that it wasn't fixed, that it no longer worked and the power source was pointless. When the install was over I asked about the secondary panel in the bedroom and the technician stated that Vivint no longer provided secondary panels because of the use of the mobile devices that can be used to control the panel. Unfortunately because my husband was not home, I assumed that he was aware of the no secondary panel since that was what we requested upfront.
The technician went through how to use the panel and mentioned in passing, "Oh by the way, you by law have 3 days to cancel the service. It's your right to have 3 days." This is how he stated the cancellation policy. Once my husband returned, not long after the technician left, he asked about the secondary panel which I told him none was installed. He immediately called the technician and asked what happened to the secondary panel and that's when he stated those are no longer available.
My husband advised the technician that we tested out how the system worked if we're upstairs and that the original doorbell was not working nor could we hear the alerts and the doorbell through the panel couldn't be heard upstairs. So my husband got off the phone with him and contacted Tyson via email to advise of the discrepancy between what we received and what we clearly stated we needed. Tyson responded stating that he was perplexed by the technician saying they didn't offer secondary panels. He went on to say that Vivint tends to shy away from the secondary panels but that occasionally he will still give them out to people who ask for them and have never been told that they can't be given out. He was supposed to have the support team contact us to discuss a good option for us and to have someone come out to fix the transformer so the doorbell will work. We never received a call from the support team.
My husband reached back out to Tyson the next morning and advised that no one ever contacted us and that he took it upon himself to contact them instead. They offered one window for that day, 9/16, which did not work for us and the earliest next available day was the following Wednesday 9/21. My husband reached back out to Tyson to see if we could get something before the 9/21. He responded that he'll see what he could do and then we never heard back from him again. The technician came back out and said there's nothing he could to fix the blown transformer, the doorbell will have to work through the panel and that there is no secondary panel. He went on to show us that there's another panel in production that is supposed to resolve our issue. He stated they've caught a lot of heat from customers about not having a secondary panel.
At this point he did not know the release date for the panel but encouraged us to call and inquire about it. He also looked to see if there was another location in our home to move the panel but then stated it would require cutting another hole in the wall and then leaving a hole where the panel resides now. We all agreed that was not a feasible option, for 1) it would be moved to the center of the house on the main level which is not near our common egress in and out the house, 2) the obvious costly mess it would leave moving it from one spot to another because who was going to then repair the hole in the wall.
Since that time between me and my husband we've spoken to at least 5 different "Account Managers" and 4 out of 5 knew about the panel that was in production but none of them knew when it was set to be released. I did manage to get one to tell me that it was supposed to be this summer but it got pushed back. Also during these conversations is when we were finally told the cancellation policy. That we had 3 days to cancel and so now we would have to buy out the contract for $2500 or transfer it to someone else.
The last person I spoke to, James with the Loyalty group, told me he was not aware of any new panel in production and if someone told us it was supposed to be released in the summer then maybe it's the summer of 2017! He only offered to credit us for 1 month of service because he understood our frustration but agreed that it wasn't a good idea to move the panel because it would be a costly repair. He then offered me an email address if I still had a complaint. I sent an email to customersupport@vivint.com and Courtney responded with the same lack of information in terms of a release date... The statement used was that we don't want to release something that will not work properly with your system. She went on to offer the same costly option of moving the panel and then gave me the link for the cancellation policy.
We are beyond frustrated with this whole process. This is for home security and no one we've spoken to seems to have any sense of urgency or care about the matter. Vivint wants us to make costly accommodations for their flawed product that was sold to us under false pretenses. And it's interesting that Courtney states they don't want to release something that will not work properly but yet they had no problem selling us something that was not compatible. Also they were not upfront and clear about the cancellation policy. Quite frankly we were strung along by Tyson with the belief that it could be fixed that we totally missed the window to cancel by the time we learned that there was nothing available now to meet our needs. Of course we still have not heard from Tyson and my husband has reached out to him again for assistance.
Again for this to be a home security company they have little interest in ensuring we are completely secure. We've stated multiple times that we cannot hear the doorbell upstairs, so we've come close to missing contractors and we cannot hear the door chime upstairs... This leaves us completely vulnerable. The alerts on the phone do not make a noise either. The first technician said they did away with the secondary panel because of the use of the mobile device... But what's the point of the mobile device if it does not alert by sound. So for a message to pop up and say "someone rang the doorbell" does me no good if I'm not looking at the phone and it does not make a sound. It does me no good for a message to pop up and say "interior garage door is open" if I'm not looking at the phone and it does not make a sound. This is why a chime is needed so we're not left vulnerable and have to walk around the house with the phone in our hand if we're away from the panel.

My package from Vivint includes the automatic door locks, one entering camera, an Amazon echo, some alarm triggers on some of the windows and doors. And then there's something to touch, glass breakage, on the windows. I'm supposed to have a thermostat and a trigger on the garage door but I haven't gotten those yet. They couldn't install them for one reason or another and I haven't called back to get them installed but I need to as it's part of my package. But I'm pretty happy with Vivint. The only difficulty I've had is that I'm still learning. I have to remember that when I open and close the curtain on my sliding glass door, it sets off the alarm if I had the system armed.
The other thing that's a little weird is that sometimes the app crashes when I'm trying to see who's at the door on my phone. It comes on about a couple of minutes after the person has come and gone and tells me that somebody rang my doorbell. It seems to be a little glitchy, but when I'm home, I can also just go and look. Vivint has features that I really like so I'm happy with it.

My doorbell sensor does not always pick up people who walk to my door. I have had things dropped off in front of door. Never picked up the person. Half time app don't work on my phone to watch clips or talk to person at door if they are picked up.

I have Vivint's doorbell camera and thermostat. I really liked the sales representative, and the installation team was really good. My doorbell isn't working currently, but everything else works good. I would recommend it to anybody.

I've been greatly satisfied with Vivint's service so far. The installers were great and cleaned up after themselves. I would like to add the doorbell camera to the setup I currently have which includes the security system with the inside camera.

On the app on my phone the cameras are really slow, it takes forever for the camera to load to answer the front door. So I can't answer the front door from my phone when I'm away.

This has been nothing but a headache from day one! Not even my 1st bill is accurate. I haven't had the service 30 days but now I'm stuck with no resolution to my problems. I have no issues with the reps that answers the call, they are polite and do the best they can I guess. I hate I'm locked in to this.

I learned about Vivint through my husband's friend. Everybody that I have talked to and have come out to my house have been really great. However, their equipment is not reliable at all. The app doesn’t work sometimes. I've had to call somebody out to my home at least seven times to work on my doorbell, we were syncing all the time. My cameras and the recording don’t work all the time as well. So, my overall experience has been mediocre.

Their sales rep was knowledgeable about the system and the guys that did the install gave us a great experience. I have live feed cameras and the door lock which I can unlock using my phone. I've had Vivint for 3 years now and I'm satisfied with the service provided to me so far. Everything was good.

A Vivint salesman came to the house. He answered all our questions and I enjoyed talking to him. He wasn't pushing anything on us. I ended up getting their service package which includes the doorbell and video as well as motion detectors on my doors and windows. The team who came to install the system were in and out. We enjoy Vivint's service, and would recommend them.

Echo doesn't arm system now. I changed my internet service on the 19th and now echo won't arm system. I did change the settings to the new internet setup and echo recognizes it but won't arm the system, when asked to do so. Echo did arm the system when first installed before technician left. But doesn't now.

I'd be glad to recommend Vivint to a friend because it's a good system to have at your home. If you have kids at home, you can watch them at all times. I'm very pleased with Vivint. Everybody we interacted with at Vivint has been pleasant and professional. Their sales representative was great and the service has been mostly good, but sometimes the main controller doesn't want to talk to my phone so we can't interact through the internet with our control box. It happens more than once a week and it really annoys me.

A guy from Vivint came to my house and asked if I needed a security system. He was upfront, and broke everything down so that I could fully understand what he was talking about. It was a good experience figuring out how to actually run my system, which includes the panel lock on the door, smoke detector, ice detector, and glass break.

Was informed by rep salesman Nick ** that I would receive a $847 reimbursement check for cancellation with previous alarm company. However I have yet to receive anything.

I was satisfied overall with the experience, but more options are needed for customers who are pet owners. I wanted the motion detector, but had issues with it after my cat would set the sensor off when jumping on or off the couch. With our previous alarm service, I never had this issue. We had to end up removing the motion sensor. If this could be regulated so as not to pick up under a certain weight, I'd be totally satisfied.

We love having a system. We got the doorbell camera and can check anytime someone comes to the door. I can unlock and lock my front door from my phone to let the neighbor in. We are enjoying it!!

When problems arise Vivint is very willing to correct it. We had some problems with the first install, with some of the door sensors not working properly, so a second technician had to me back out. But since then, they’re very willing and cooperative. We have had some issues with our phones connecting up with them but they've been resolved. When we couldn't hook up with our cellphones, they helped us and they walk me through everything. They put your panel in test mode so that you don't notify the police. But one time, a technician was out here and he thought he had put the thing in test mode and he didn't and it activated a silent alarm. The next thing we knew there were police outside. So it does work very well and it wasn't very long apparently before he had activated it that they showed up.
The only thing is when signing up, we got some of the stuff free but we had to sign a two-year contract. But the sales rep on the telephone didn't explain to us that it’s based on a point system and each item is valued at a certain point. Once I hit 14 points, then I have to start buying their items. When the installer came, he came up to us and said, "Well, you owe us this much more." I said, "Why? They didn't tell us we owed them anything." So he explained it to us and we said okay. It would have been better if it had been explained to us at the beginning. Apart from that, I'd recommend Vivint to a friend.

I called to have the services installed and I thought all would be great when we finished the call... Not so much. The sales rep told me that devices from my old system would work fine, so that left me not needing to buy a bunch of extra stuff. When the tech got here, he informed me that the cameras would not work so that left me only having the doorbell camera... Then we get to the sensors, same story, those would not work and I had to get theirs. They gave them free, but the catch, 24 month contract is now 36.
I called and asked for an outdoor camera in addition to the doorbell camera and explained my situation. The sales rep informed, "sorry for the trouble, we will provide you one for free and no charges would be associated." The day of the tech visit comes and the tech says, "I have an indoor camera for you, not an outdoor..." I ended up being charged for them coming to install the camera and I am still trying to get other stuff worked out. I will give them this. The system works well so far, has some cool automation and their customer service is decent. I work in a call center and do QA so I have high expectations when it comes to how a customer is treated over the phone.

My daughter installed Vivint, then told me about it. I already had an alarm, but I used to work for the feds before, so I like my place safe. I wanted to have cameras, alarms, and everything. It's been okay. However, sometimes I try to get in the phone so I could do everything through the phone, and it takes a long time. It doesn't want to come up. Also, it's one of the most expensive security systems. I found another one that offers the same thing they do, for way less, but I have to stick to my contract. Other than these, I've had no trouble with Vivint. I would tell friends that they will have to pay a little bit more, but would recommend it to them.

I got to know about Vivint from an "Undercover Boss" episode. I then got the biggest service package they had which includes doorbell camera, thermostat, and security since I've been wanting those features. Vivint's sales rep was very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have very fast and nice people in their installation team. Their service is excellent and I'd recommend this company.

I will say after talking to several people about my on going issues, I got to speak with Kayla she is the first person who I didn't want to strangle while and after talking to! She listened and didn't just make up an answer she actually told me exactly what was going on and if she didn't know the reason she didn't make it up! As of right now, I think we have a resolution and keeping my fingers crossed this is the last issue! I am going to update my star listing solely based on the fact that Kayla was so helpful! Fingers crossed!

I have had Vivint since January 2016 and from my first bill it has been billing hell!! I would not wish this nightmare on anyone not even my worst enemy! I am contacting my attorney to get me out of this contract asap. I feel that I live up to my end of the contract by having my bill drafted every month and with that said I think they should live up to theirs and bill me the proper amount every time. I call and ask why I'm being drafted almost double and everyone I talk to has a different reason. This has been an absolute nightmare that needs to end so I can get my home security with a trustworthy company!! And don't get me started on smoke detector installation... Needless to say I would never ever suggest anyone deal with this mess.

We've got the break glass thing, motion sensors, doorbell camera, touch screen keypad, regular secondary keypad, and window sensors from Vivint. So far it's been good and I have no complaints. They're better than ADT. The sales rep did what they said they were gonna do and it was all good. The installation took a while but went pretty smoothly. They've been a good company to work with.

Vivint accessed my Equifax credit report without my authorization. A Vivint representative admitted the access was unauthorized, but the company has not removed this information from my credit report despite repeated assurances to the contrary. I spoke with a representative from Vivint about setting up an alarm evaluation on my house. I provided the company with personal information to set up an account, but explicitly said that I did not authorize the company to pull my credit report because I was in the middle of a mortgage application. I was promised that the report would not be accessed.
Three days later I received a notification that my credit report was pulled. I spoke with the sales rep at Vivint who confirmed that the report should not have been pulled, and I was given a copy of a letter that Vivint claimed to have sent to Equifax requesting the removal of the inquiry. I spoke with Equifax several weeks later and was told nothing had been received. I disputed the report with Equifax who told me that they only record the access, and that I needed to speak with Vivint. I contacted Vivint again and was told the information was resent electronically. I again contacted Equifax who confirmed that Vivint had not requested the removal of this inquiry. I have been trying to get in touch with Vivint since then but my calls and emails have been ignored.

First of all, I am currently at home waiting for the installer to come install my outdoor cameras. This is the third attempt and each previous attempt the installer no showed without letting me know what was going on. He said it was due to the product being out of stock. However, a phone call would have been nice instead of me just waiting at home for an installer that would never show up. Secondly, the doorbell camera has too much of a delay to be practical. For example, we have had a guest ring the doorbell, I have answered the door - I saw them through the front window, they have entered the house and walked into the kitchen before we heard the doorbell through the main console.
Thirdly, our sales rep wasn't clear on what we would be receiving for our monthly payment. We thought we would be getting an additional device which apparently costs more than what he quoted us. Fourthly, it has been a month since we first talked with our sales rep and we have paid a full month's fee however, we still don't have all of our devices installed.

I have the SkyControl panel, Nest thermostat, two glass break sensors, one fire alarm monitor, garage door opener and Echo, general door and window monitoring and a doorbell camera from Vivint. I got whatever I could make work with the package. Their sales rep did a good job too. So far, I'm very satisfied with Vivint's service.
