At this time the features have been less than useful. Someone will ring the doorbell, and since they deactivated the main sound it goes unheard unless I am by the main pad or have my phone handy. The camera will not load on the app so I am unable to use the feature, therefore have no visual of who is at the door let alone respond through the microphone as demonstrated. The feature with the door lock was what I was most interested in for access through my main egress area. The door handle has yet to be installed and was told I will need to do this myself and the lock was left with me.
I do not have the tools or the know-how to install so half of my home is unprotected... the part of the home I was most concerned about mind you. Lastly, again with the app I have attempted to use multiple times to secure the home and get regular error messages, site maintenance messages, or app unavailable messages (and yes I am connected to Wi-Fi or have full LTE signal at the time of attempts). So far the product and system has been useless. All of this information was provided in the survey shortly following installation and have yet to hear from anyone.

Today marks the 14th day of the installation period, we'll probably hit 21 days, if not more. Not only is the system not installed, they somehow managed to cause a malfunction which disabled the business' furnaces. This is day 4 of no heat. The sales process was straight forward. Sold the dream. I was interested in integrating multiple systems that we had for automated locks, thermostat and cameras. Those Z-Wave locks (Schlage) we had? Those can integrate with the Vivint system no problem. How about those Z-wave thermostats (Honeywell)? No problem! We were dealing with a 12 camera closed circuit system, but because of panel limitations, only 6 cameras but they all record to the cloud. I suppose that's not much of an issue to consolidate.
Onto installation. Those locks the sales agent told you would integrate with the system, yeah, those don't actually work. You can rent those from us at an additional cost. The cameras? Oh you were mistaken, only 4 can record consistently, system limitation that the sales agent should have known better about. I'll totally disregard the infighting between the sales agent and technician as both cited sources regarding 6 simultaneous cameras. Even though your install date was pushed an extra date to accommodate another technician being present to help with the camera install, only one technician, so there's no way this install is going to be completed today.
Install techs come another day to install the cameras and setup the thermostats. Guess what? Thermostats that I was told were compliant, those too need to be replaced. That's alright, the technicians will just set another date to install the thermostats. They'll just provide a window of 8am to 11am. The business doesn't open until noon, so I suppose I'll just pay an employee extra for showing up 4 hours before work starts. All well and good, until I'm called at 10:30am to let me know that the technician they scheduled for the install is actually on PTO and wouldn't be making it that day after all. Just waste the time of my employee and my money to pay said employee.
Thermostats get installed, however no one felt it necessary to check if they functioned. That's alright, well have the NEXT technician who was called out to assist with the thermostat falling off the wall. Guess that ADHESIVE TAPE used to secure the thermostat to the wall isn't as long lasting as they expected. I've since been told that troubleshooting has indicated that it likely isn't a problem caused by their installation of the thermostats just a big coincidence that the heat cut out at the same time they were there. In the event they don't find conclusive evidence of the thermostat causing the malfunction, I'm responsible for all repairs.
As of today, they're searching for an HVAC contractor that can be brought on-site to review the issue. Still no thermostats, obviously. After having requested to speak with a customer service manager over a week ago, I was finally called by an unrelated one due to this most recent issue. I was offered a service credit an amount LESS than what my up front cost has been. Unfortunately, I'm not sure customer retention is on the list of their priorities. Can't say much regarding the service seems acceptable, however all the headaches being experienced really haven't given me an opportunity to evaluate.

I have been a Vivint customer for about a year and eight months. I signed up because I liked the features of their equipment (the control panel, etc.) as compared to other competitors in the market. Their prices are higher than the competition and I did not like being pressured into a long-term contract. While the initial installation went fine, I have had 3 door sensors malfunction since the initial installation. I have a very simple system with a control panel and a couple of door sensors and I am paying $50 per month. I checked online and it doesn't seem like I have all of the options that new customers are getting. The hold times for customer service are always extensive and I have had to call on multiple occasions.
Overall, their products are innovative but unreliable in my experience. The contracts are lengthy and the customer service is mediocre at best. You do not gain customer loyalty through contracts; you gain customer loyalty through great customer service and competitive pricing for loyal customers!!! I am now locked in with this company and they have no incentive to make me a happy customer. I'm sure they will respond to this and tell me to email customer support again - which is unacceptable.

Vivint approached my tenant at a property I own. The sales representative misrepresented the contract by telling the tenant they could cancel service with 30 days notice, however when the tenant moved out of state Vivint would not cancel the contract even though the tenant could not transfer the service and could not afford the service any longer.

Vivint people were going through the neighborhood and they knocked on my door a couple of years ago. The sales rep answered all of my questions and I picked the system which includes a lot of features. It is working so far and I haven't had any trouble. The installation was done in a day and they did a good job.

The entire experience with Vivint has been nothing but a hassle. The equipment doesn't work. The doorbell sensor sends hundreds of alerts all day long, the alarm has been set off multiple times, and we have not been called by the company. There is a weather alert notification that cannot be silenced, so if it's storming, plan on being woken up all night by weather alerts. They put a huge hole in the wall when they installed it, and they installed it in a place we didn't want it put in the first place. Every time we call with an issue we end up on hold for hours. Totally not worth the cost.

We have remote, motion sensor, door sensors, and a digital keypad in the service package that we got from Vivint. I walked the installer through the house. I was working with him to find out what was going to be installed. Everything's fine and I'm happy with Vivint.

I was checking up all the different systems that were out there, and the one I wanted could only be had through Vivint at the time. It’s a bigger display and Vivint had it for one year before they released out to everybody else. I checked the ratings and they were good. Vivint has been great, except that I have a problem connecting things up. I have to call the office and they gotta take some password off so I can get in it for two or three days. I was told when I bought the system that the system is mine but at the same time if it is, how come somebody else has got a password that stops me from doing things without me checking with them first. I was not aware of that when I got the system and they did not tell me that. But other than that, I'd recommend them and tell people that they need to look and see what they wanted as some things with Vivint were proprietary.

Compared to my old system, Vivint is a little bit more user-friendly. However, I was a little disappointed with the sales rep. I went to a friend's house who happens to tell me about their new system and it was Vivint. They have an added feature where they could see people through a camera in their home at the front door. I wasn't offered that. The rep didn't mention it at all. It would have been nice to explore. I happen to have two other friends who now have that package. I'm locked into a five-year agreement with Vivint at this time. When that's over, I definitely will explore other options and people who might give me a little bit more information about their product line.

The system has been great. The technician was friendly, professional and great about explaining the system. The access from my phone makes getting in and out of the house a snap. Also the camera gives added security so you don't have to open your door to find out who is on the other side of the door. This is definitely the system to purchase.

The previous house owner had ADT but I didn't want to go with ADT. A friend of ours referred us to Vivint and we assumed the same things the previous house owner had with ADT and Vivint was able to provide them all. The service so far has been fine and they've been, in fact, super cautious. I have the monitors on the windows and doors and a bird must have hit it and they had the cops rolling over to the house very quickly. We were out of town that time but it was a very quick response.

We have been a customer for a few years, and while the installation was great we have had issues with the panel and the wireless communication. They have tried to resolve it a few times but the results have been less than good. Since we were under contract, we lived with it. Now, we moved and want to terminate service and all support #s ring to "sorry this line is no longer in service". I am going to cancel the Credit card associated with this account and make them come find me. I spent a couple hours attempting to call.

I wanted a security system installed and I first called Comcast because they were offering it through the cable company, but it turned out that they weren't authorized at that time to monitor fire alarms in Massachusetts. I then called ADT and they didn't show up, and I was surprised that Vivint was the one who showed up. Their cost was a little more than what I had thought it was going to be with ADT. But we were going away on a trip and I wanted the system installed so I went ahead and got Vivint. My service package included the 24-hour monitoring for fire and break-in and a flood sensor in the basement. I needed these features because I'd like to have somebody watching over the place making sure that everything was secured -- I didn't want to worry about it. And if I was gone, the fire department would be notified to send somebody out right away.
We already had a system installed but it didn't have any kind of connection to a monitoring service. So, when the installation came in, they put in their box and had to update our existing system and it worked out good. They were able to adapt it and also helped me get a new replacement battery for our old system's box. Our battery was old and in the process of dying and they kept it for us. I was able to run over at Home Depot and buy a new one.
As for the system, it’s great and I feel secure in leaving my wife and grandkids. The service has been good. When there has been a false alarm, like burning something on the stove or a smoke detector that the battery had died and it started beeping, they were very quick to notify us. They were also helpful in resolving some concerns that I had with the smoke detectors. We had some new panel floors put in the house and as a result, we kept setting off the alarm system and the smoke detectors. They were able to help me isolate the alarms and sensors and turn them off when the people working for the panel floors were here. Vivint's staff were very supportive in that regard to help me get that handled. The technical team has been one of the nicest features Vivint has. They're very professional and I’ve been able to call them and get some prompt answers to my questions.

Their reps were good, otherwise we wouldn't have let them in the house. They got right busy and did a professional job, answered any questions we had. So far the service has been very good because we forget once in a while and go through the door without unsetting it and then they’ll call to see if there's a problem. Last summer, we found out that the battery was out. They told me which battery to get and put in, and I did that. A few days later, another battery went out. There was some kind of a problem that wasn’t being fixed with replacing a battery. So they finally sent a serviceman out and started checking, and they ended up replacing the whole system because something went haywire in it and so we were pleased with that.

So far, our experience with Vivint has been very good. We were outside when the guy from Vivint came to the door. He knew what he was talking about and was very pleasant. We signed on the dotted line at 9 o’clock at night, and I was surprised the installer wanted to install it that night. That was too late but they quickly backed off. In addition, it was odd that we signed and 10 minutes later, there’s an installer knocking on the door. But besides that, the installer was nice. He struggled to install it because there was more installation in the walls than he was expecting but he fought through it. It just took a lot longer than he wanted it to. He didn’t give up. We're very happy with the system. It’s nice to have a real security system compared to what we had before. The only thing I don’t like is it costs a lot of money and with the 5-year locked in deal versus the cheap internet one, I don’t know if I strongly recommend.

The Vivint installer was good. He installed everything where we wanted the equipment installed. He made a lot of suggestions on glass break monitors as opposed to just alarms when the window opens. He knew more about it than I did. Everything has been positive with them. We've had a lot of alarms going off. I ride a motorcycle and if I happen to start it up when the alarm's on, the vibration on the windows sets it off. I usually don't hear it because it's beeping inside the house. So I takeoff and then all of a sudden, we get calls that the alarm went off. So it has been more on Vivint being more patient with me than I am with them. I would definitely recommend them.
We've had it for quite a few years now and we've only had one negative thing. The alarm went off and my wife got a call and they put her on hold for 10 minutes and when they came back on it got disconnected. Then she called back thinking what if it really was an emergency, she can't even get through. They escalated the incident and the manager called the next day to apologize and explain.

Doorbell camera will record but there is a delay from when it records to when it notifies. Approximately 3 min delay. Also when trying to communicate with doorbell camera live there is like a 1 minute delay. The time it takes to get notified from when the motion is detected seems unreasonable.

I saw a few Vivint signs around our neighborhood and their salesman came to our door. That was two years ago and he was really good and very informative. We got the front door lock and remote. We also have a few rooms that have the window breaking feature. It's a basic package because we're not gone a lot and it’s a safe neighborhood. We just wanted a security wherein when we were gone, we could put it on. When we come home and it isn’t off, then we'd know there were no intruders in the house. We can change our temperature and that's been good for our son and daughter-in-law who both work. It has helped them to feel like it has lowered their power bills because they are able to control it away from home, so that’s good. Additionally, everything went really well with their installers. They were in and out very quickly and cleaned up any kind of little mess.

Vivint's features happened to be what fit our particular situation. Since we needed more security than what we had, we got cameras, thermostats, door and window sensors, and glass break included in our service package from them. I've never had any bad experiences with Vivint except when a couple of cameras went out. But they replaced those right away and everything seems to work well. And we haven't had anybody trying to break in. We got some sign up in the front yard so that deters people and that's helpful. The handiest thing for me is I can leave the house and I can arm or disarm the system with my phone. If somebody needs to come to the house and do something or if I've got a problem, I can disarm the alarm from my phone by just them making a phone call to me then I can rearm it when they're done. So I'm totally satisfied with Vivint's service and I'd certainly recommend them to a friend.
The only thing that I would make a suggestion on is if I have a certain door or window that I don't want to arm and if I disarm it, then I would like it to stay disarmed until I rearm it. The way the system is set up right now is if a door is disarmed and somebody opens, closes, and then opens it again, then the alarm goes off. We don't have many windows but I've got six sliding glass doors in the house and in order to get air through the house, I've got to leave the door partially open. We don't always have the heater or the air condition running and we like some fresh air so generally, the doors crack. With the least, little bit of crack, the system knows that the door is open so I have to disarm that door. But if I close the door and then reopen it, then the alarm goes off because the setting is not permanent.
If we get up in the middle of the night, half asleep, let the dog out, close the door, and then open it back up, the alarm goes off. We've had that happen several times. It would be much more convenient for me not to have to disarm that door every night because if I want to let the dog out and let him back in two or three times a night, I don't want to have to keep re-disarming that door before I can get back in bed. Both my wife and I have to get up so I can actually disarm the alarm and then she has to let the dog out, go out, and come back in then I got to rearm everything. I've got to reset it to bypass that door and it's time-consuming. I don't need to put up with it because when we leave, the system is gonna tell me that the door is open and not armed, so then I know I have to arm the door before we leave or go out of town. Unless I'm going somewhere and we're not going to be at home then, of course, everything is armed.
Also, if I go away somewhere and somebody in my family has to get to my shed door, I'd like to disarm that and leave it that way so if somebody needs to get something out of the shed, they can go in and get whatever they need out then go on without worrying about the alarm going off. I'm not gonna have to give everybody the code to get in because I could just give them a key and leave that door unarmed. In that way, there's one door that's lockable where they can come in and leave and stays disarmed. It makes no sense for the thing to rearm as soon as one opens and closes, then reopens the door again. A burglar doesn't know which door is gonna be armed or disarmed. I don't think it's unreasonable leaving a door unarmed if I choose to.
Another thing is that every time something goes off, Vivint calls my daughter, but she doesn't even live with us anymore. I went on their website the other day and the number showed my number but she's always the one who gets the call. Also, I'm not absolutely sure whether the system would work or not if for some reason our internet connection goes down. When the Wi-Fi goes down, I look at the control panel and it's constantly rebooting. We live in an obscure area where the Wi-Fi goes down occasionally. So, if the Wi-Fi is down and the system doesn't work then it's useless. I also don't know if I have to go through rearming everything if the system reboots.

I have motion detectors, breaking glass, door alarms, window alarms and heat control from Vivint. The sales rep was fantastic while the servicemen knew what they're doing and that's very important. They know their product, how to install it whether it's over the phone troubleshooting, and they're always available that way. I unfortunately had a panel go bad before a year of me even using it and so did the camera. They had no problem coming in and switching it out at no cost to me, and I appreciate that. I don't live in the house a lot and I travel for my job, so it's very important for me to be far away and be able to remotely turn lights on and off any time that I want to. I can also let people in remotely to do service work.

The installation team of Vivint had trouble trying to reinstall the box where it was. They had to reinstall it in another place and it got done. They were very pleasant and helpful in explaining everything. They also cleaned up after themselves except for the hole in the wall. My experience with Vivint was fine, however, if I had it to do over again I don't know that I would enter into a long contract at $79 a month. I wouldn't pay this much for security now that there are so many other options available.

We recently had a break in so we've been looking for a home security provider. So many times the people that come into my home to work, I've been a little bit uneasy with but the Vivint installers were really nice and I trusted them totally. They did a really good, quick job, not too much messed up or dirty. My only problem is that by the time I've been outside the garage or I get to the door, the alarm goes off so I can't do any stopping in between. I just need to go back in and add time between those two alarms.

I wanted a live cam, 24/7 option, a wireless security system, so I went with Vivint. It was very educational with the sales rep. We went back and forth on the pricing, and he was accommodating. The installation team was very professional, on time, very fast, and their work was very well done, with quick turnaround. The installer paid attention to every detail, gave me options, and even stayed late until night trying to educate me on every aspect of the system and the best possible ways of using it. So, it was pretty good. Then they came back the next day to make sure that they followed up with me on the system and how it works. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and do it all over again.

When I ordered it, I got the camera, the doorbell camera, the house camera, and the sensors and the extra box. The sales reps were very knowledgeable. The only problem I had was there was a glass break sensor that wasn't tied down tight and my alarm system went off at the middle of the night by itself. I fixed it by putting an extra screw. Overall, I would recommend it to a friend.

I like my new Home alert System. Peace of mind to have the home security at all times and the Alert wrist band tells me someone will know when I fall. I am pleased with the system. I told the sales representative Keenan that I already had a security system. He glanced at the service agreement and told me that he could fix it if they told me that I was under contract with the other security company on Monday. When I was able to contact the other security company on Tuesday of the next week, they told me I was still on contract for three more years, I contacted Vivint by phone and they told me the procedure for canceling my service with Vivint.
I was having no problems with Vivint until they came and removed their equipment from my house. The technician removed all of the equipment without any problems except for when he removed the door bell, he removed the door bell and all of the wires leaving me with only a small hole with no wires. I did not notice this until later in the day. The other security system came back but could not place the door bell for the missing wires. I got an electrician to come out and I was charged 650.00 to replace the wires in the attic by my door bell. I feel that the technician Ryan was unprofessional for removing all of the wires and that it was not my fault that Ryan took all of the wires, and that I should get reimbursed the 650.00 from Vivint.

NOTE: The installation guy, Nick was AMAZING. This review has NOTHING to do with him but has everything to do with my overall experience with Vivint. I ordered service and equipment and called to cancel before the installation date because I wasn't keen on the price. I spoke to a "Manager" named Richard who made lots of promises but didn't hold up his end. So, when the installation guy came out, I had to have him hold off until I got a confirmation email from ANOTHER associate of the changes that Richard promised to make IN the computer and in writing (which I never received until I called in and talked to another rep).
I was given a 30-day guarantee, but not all of my equipment was available until after my 30 day mark. So, how exactly am I supposed to know if I like the equipment when I can't even test it all out before my guarantee expires? It's a bit shady and bad business, in my opinion. I spoke to two representatives (Correy and Richard) before the installation guy came out and both said "We will make sure our install guy has all of the equipment in his truck." I didn't find out until after everything was installed that "it would be over a month until the garage opener feature would be added" because Vivint was out of stock. That should have been something communicated to me BEFORE the installation. Also, the light that is supposed to shine on my Vivint sign was not installed as promised. However, after texting my install guy, he promised to install it when he comes to install my garage feature.

Vivint was a little bit better system than the others and every opening in the house is covered by them which is important for me. The sales rep was very nice and very helpful, and I had a very positive experience. The same is for the installation team but I had one hiccup with the portal panic button. It didn't work. It was not paired up correctly with the system which should have been checked before the tech left. It has been corrected though.

We went with Vivint for their smart phone capabilities and their camera on the doorbell. The sales rep was really good in the way he explained everything. The installation team was good, too. We had one faulty piece of equipment, but customer service came and changed that right away. We haven't had any bad experiences with Vivint.

A Vivint sales rep left his card and I called him and he did whatever it took to get me over to Vivint from ADT. Everything he said that came with the package at the time we started came with it. It was too expensive with ADT to even get some features. I like the features I got from Vivint and I'm enjoying it. I recommended it and a friend just got it. Any interactions I've had with the Vivint team have been good. If I had any problems and when they sent someone out, it was taken care of and they usually come before the set time. They have great customer service all the way around. I don't sit on the phone long if I have anything or I want to ask questions. They’ve all been very knowledgeable and helpful.

I've had a few problems with Vivint's security system. They were able to get it going after the installation but nobody told me about how much speed I needed on my internet. They just hooked it up, it worked for about a week then it went out. My camera system wouldn't work on my cellphone and the keypad kept telling that we're offline. I can't see anything without the cameras. I don't even know if there's somebody ringing the doorbell because it's supposed to ring on my phone and without being online, it doesn't work. I contacted my sales rep and then he was able to get somebody to take a look at it. They did some stuff to get it working again.
About a month ago, we contacted another technician from Vivint. He told me that we didn't have enough power from the internet and that should have been checked up before they even installed anything or else we weren't going to be happy with it, which we weren't at the time. It's been a hit and miss on the features that we purchased. I'm happy with the features if they just worked. If they had told me upfront that my system wasn't ready yet, then I would have worked on getting the internet first and then with Vivint. When the system was working, it was good to see what was going on. When I've been on vacation, I could turn on the cameras and see who rang the doorbell. I was able to let my house sitter come in and check it out that way. Now, I'm having an upgrade on my internet to see if that will take care of the problem.

I heard about Vivint when I was with the former owner's company. When they switched companies, I just went on to Vivint. We have the monitoring with the door, the sensors etc. The box itself is a wireless box so it connects to when I need to change the filters. For the price that they were asking to change from one company to another, it was free and a lot of stuff was inclusive. So, that was great for me. I really love their service but their customer service really stinks. I was trying to upgrade to a doorbell and a monitoring system, which they have a package out now for $99, and they wanted to charge me $500 for that system because I already had a system. I was trying to explain to them that I've been with them forever so that makes absolutely no sense to me but they wouldn't do it.
I got on their website and contacted their owner. Of course, through all the bureaucracy, I know he didn't see my email, but the people who called me back didn't even know that the company had been traded a long time ago. I was further back on their company than they were. Overall, it's a very good product but I wasn't satisfied with their customer service and the way that I was treated, being a loyal customer. I was trying to get out of that contract this year, but I have another year to go so they wouldn't let me unless I pay.

A guy came to my door selling Vivint. Since there's nobody at home at certain hours, I guess I needed the system and wanted to have it. I do love my system, HOWEVER, this past Sunday, my thermostat would not kick on. My house was COLD and I have a baby!! I was on HOLD for OVER an hour waiting for assistance and NO ONE ever picked up the call to assist. This is UNACCEPTABLE!! I tweeted Vivint, sent a message on Facebook and never heard back until the following day. I understand it is a Sunday, but it is not OK for your customers not able to get a hold of anyone if they NEED help. I seriously contemplated setting my alarm off JUST to get someone from your company to ASSIST!!! I've only had the system for a couple weeks and to be honest, while I love the system and all the features, the customer service or lack thereof definitely puts a damper on things.

I'm really satisfied happy with Vivint. The sales rep was real nice and she wanted to make sure I was okay and everything was all right before she hung up. I told her I was fine - it was my mistake. The night that I opened the door and forgot that I kept the alarm on, they were right on it. I had the number in there and had it turned off, but they still called me. Also, the installers took their time to explain everything to me better than when I had the other alarm system. I understood everything before they left, so that made me happy.

I was happy with the service but when my contract expired I was not able to cancel. We were offered a free 3 month period to which my wife agreed and promptly forgot about. We then noticed automatic payment had been made online. My wife contacted the company and requested the service canceled, and they did not cancel but instead charged us for a second month. After the second charge I then called to cancel and was told I could not cancel over the phone but had to send an email that would take 30 days to process, and I would be again billed for an additional month even though our contract had expired and we had not agreed to any additional service. I sent the email to cancel then contacted my bank to have all further automatic payments canceled.
Then, several months later, I receive a bill from a collection agency for approximately $2000. When I call the company I'm told my account has not been canceled and that my account was automatically rolled into month-to-month billing and could not be canceled until we paid the past due balance (for the period after our contract expired) and the payoff amount of an apparently new contract through 2018 which they apparently placed us in that we never agreed to. Still trying to cancel and I feel like I'm being scammed at this point. I did recommend this company to friends when we first signed up because we liked the service even though the monthly monitoring cost is far too high. I now highly advise avoiding this company due to the nightmare experience I've had trying to cancel my service.

We have a thermostat, door cameras, smoke alarms included in our package. We needed to have these features because my husband is out of town a lot. Their sales reps are hard workers and the guy that did the installation was very good. He worked until 11:00 one night which was beyond what he should have. He did an awesome job. My package from Vivint includes a glass break sensor, motion sensors, and a doorbell camera. I wanted to cover the upstairs and downstairs, and the doorbell feature was nice because if somebody comes to the door, I can see who it is. The young guy who installed the system explained how it worked and did an excellent job. I've had instances where the system went off accidentally, and their team was right on the ball. The first time that happened was when we got the system. The lady came on pretty quickly, talked to me, and I liked it. She made sure everything was okay. The last time it happened was because of the sensors on all the exterior doors. I came in the garage to put a couple of things away and forgot to turn the alarm off. By the time I got in the house, it had already gone off, so I ran over and put the code in. It wasn't too long after that when she came right on the phone and asked if everything was okay. Vivint is well worth having.

The doorbell camera is not nearly sensitive enough or it is incorrectly positioned. Having had 3-4 deliveries over the past week, the doorbell camera didn't "notice" any of them. There was no alert stating that someone was at the door. Without having the remainder of my ordered products installed, that is all that I am able to comment about. Currently waiting for the garage door opener and wifi camera to finish being placed in the home. Lastly, there is such a time delay opening the app that it's nearly impossible to reach someone at the door before they walk away. Have not needed the alarm (blessing) so I am unable to comment about how reliable/dependable that service is.

I have monitoring from Vivint and they also gave me some sensors on my windows. I did not like the guy who sold the service. He did not come through with his promise. We were paying a certain amount for three months and they said they could beat that. But I noticed they have been charging me the same amount for the same time period. I will give them high remarks on their monitoring, though. I could not ask for any better than that. Sometimes we will forget and open the door that has a motion detector, and as soon as it does, they come on the little box in the house live. But as far as the sales and what they are charging me, I would not recommend them to nobody. That's how dissatisfied I am with their service. If I did not have a two-year contract, I would cancel them and go back with ADT tomorrow.

For the most part, Vivint's service is okay. However, the doorbell camera doesn’t work anymore. It did for a little while and then it stopped. I haven’t called anybody out for it because the last gentleman that came out to replace a simple sensor cost me $49 and he wasn't even here half an hour. I mentioned the doorbell camera problem to him but he said he had already instituted an update on the system and also said he couldn’t do anything about that until the update was done. So I'm not willing to pay $49 for somebody to come out to fix something that should be working all along.
We also have problems getting the app on our phones. We are quite often told that it is not available. I can be standing out in my driveway getting ready to leave and I hit “Shut my garage door” and to arm the system. Everything will start spinning like it’s doing what it’s supposed to do and next thing I know, it tells me “app not available.” After that $49 charge, I've given up on talking to any service people. I was not aware that I was gonna be charged that $49 until I got it on my bill so I’m not too happy about that. My husband and I are pretty much decided that if they’re going to do things like that, then we're gone once our contract is up.

I initially got Vivint's standard package then they came out and gave me three of those wireless boxes at the door and changed the equipment a little bit. Then I called them to see what it would cost to upgrade the system but we couldn’t come to an agreement so I left it as it is. Nevertheless, I like Vivint. I like the fact that they don’t always call me on and that they can listen to whatever is happening in the house without anybody knowing it. When I had a problem with the smoke alarm which kept going off for no reason, they sent somebody out and had him check the whole system and replace the batteries.

I liked what the Vivint sales rep explained and the convenience of their system so I got a security service package from them. The sales rep was really good and knew what he was talking about. It wasn’t just a sales pitch or a written line that everybody uses every time just like some of the others including the provider I was with before. The installation was also pretty good. It was a lot faster than I thought it would be. The installer did a good job and the system is working with no problems. I'm happy with what I have.

A friend of mine who has Vivint referred them to us. My husband works evening sometimes, so we got a doorbell camera, two indoor cameras, and the fire and security alarm. We’re very satisfied with the service. The doorbell camera’s what we use the most. It’s nice to be able to see who’s at our house before we go to the door. It was an easy installation. There was one gentleman who came and set everything up and it didn’t take very long. He also showed everything to us before he left. We’ve had a few false alarms with us setting it off, and we've heard back from them quick. We’re able to speak over the keypad to a representative to clear everything and we’ve enjoyed it. I’d definitely recommend Vivint to a friend. The experience with them was easy and affordable.

I have paid since June 2013 to Vivint. I have has some problems but had made it to the end of the Contract which was originally 12-1-2016. I received mail from Vivint Vice President welcoming me on-board. His letter verified my contract renewal date was 12-1- 2016. I called and e-mailed to cancel my contract and they decided the contract they have which was signed by a person other than me or my wife. I sent them a copy of my signature on my Ks Drivers License and my Photo ID signature for my Security Officer License. The Fraud man at Vivint decided my 2014 License was too current and although they both look totally different than what they have on the contract they want me to dance a jig rather than just let go!

I can honestly say that I have never in my 70 years of life felt as ripped off and cheated by any company as much as I have felt about this one. I pay $71 every month and the equipment has NEVER work correctly. I call and temporarily it will, but within days, it doesn't work again. I have called so many times without any positive changes happening that I have given up. I need security as I have been a victim of elder abuse and the thefts continue. Since I have installed Vivint, I have had well over $5000. worth of things stolen. At one point in time they even set a fire on my property. The alarm trips for no cause - when it is working and then, they send out security which I have to pay for. The bad news is they have me locked in a contract so I will be paying $71.00 per month for many, many more months.
UPDATED ON 04/21/2017: So today I received a phone call from Vivint because they noticed that I had given a poor review. The young lady that I spoke to suggested that I go on hold until she could transfer me to a department that could help me. I sat on hold for 15 minutes and then, when it sounded like what they were about to transfer me to another person, I was cut off. This is not the first time that I have been cut off when I called with a complaint; I'm beginning to think it's their strategy to avoid me. The thing that's interesting is they didn't bother to call back. There is no way I could've called them back because I wouldn't know which operator to ask for but they had my phone number. They're the ones who initiated the call.

14 days later, still no router and full functionality of system. We were told by the technician that he would bring a router to the house, he never showed. My husband called customer service and we were told that one would be shipped. I called and there was nothing shipped and no expedited shipping. 14 days of not using the feature we were most excited about... the camera being viewed on our cell phones. Not very happy.

We have only been able to connect to the home cameras for the first day after the system was installed. The home system doesn't stay connected to our Wi-Fi. I called about it and we are waiting on a booster router. The installers said we have 30 days to be happy with the system. If we still have connection issues, we would like to cancel services.

There were several break-ins around in our area and someone called Vivint wanting the security service. Since they were out here, they started going door-to-door and at that time, my fiancé and I talked about features of a security alarm. Vivint's sales reps seemed knowledgeable about the products and that's where my trust came in. One evening, their guy Tye showed up at my house and he talked me into the system. I had mixed feelings and I wanted to cancel it, but he reassured me about this and that. We got Vivint's little pad, the doorbell thing that triggers the recording, the extra camera that we can set up anywhere, and the glass shatter sensor for if the windows are broken.
But a lot of things that Tye told us weren’t necessarily true and when we first got the system done, there were a lot of headaches. When my installer came, he told me that a lot of the people that he installed the system for had a lot of problems. Tye told me that my specific camera was supposed to do this but the installer disagreed with it. He told me that if I would’ve gotten this package, it would do that but I have to set this thing.
Also when it came to us getting our first bills, we didn't get any and we looked for Tye. All of a sudden, we ended up getting slammed with a certain amount. He was supposed to be giving us $400 cash and we were supposed to deposit that into the bank and Vivint would take it out within 48 hours. He came back to give us the money but it was only $300. There was an extra $100 coming out of our pocket. We were told to put this in our account which we did. Vivint didn’t take it out of the account for well over the first month, so we had no idea what was even going on. Their people had to come back out here for our equipment too. Our little magnet things they put on the door fell. Vivint is fine for my first security system but I would not necessarily recommend them to someone else.

I've had an alarm system since I moved into my house, but I wasn't very happy with it. So I looked for another one and someone told me about Vivint. I researched about it and I liked the services that the sales rep offered when he came here. Then the installers came did what they had to do. When my alarm wasn't working, they quickly came out within the day that I called them to fix it and they didn't charge me a thing. I like my services now, though I needed a new one in my yard because the one I have there is all faded out and looks weather-beaten. We have our alarm on even when we're home at night and we don't have problems with it.

We were very happy with the initial sale and the install. So far we still have problems with the fire detector losing connection and also we still keep getting false alarms from the front door bell camera. We have changed the sensitivity settings several times but still it doesn't always record someone at the door or many times it will give false alerts every few minutes.

Since I've had this alarm it's been nothing but problems with the cameras. I've had one person come out on the 12th, an hour later I was calling him back because they still wasn't working. I have another person coming out next week because the cameras are still not working and I'm on a so called 30 day free trial but it's being used up with service guys coming out to fix the cameras.

From day 1 my cameras become offline at least once a day. Bothers me because what's the point of having cameras that are marketed that you can see from anywhere around the world which is totally false. Ordered my own router and company never sent.

We have a doorbell camera, a medical alert button, and a glass-breakage alarm from Vivint. We wanted the medical alert since my mom is elderly and she lives with us. It proves very helpful for her. However, the first people did not wire the doorbell camera correctly and it blew a fuse. Vivint had to send someone else back out to re-wire it again. The second group of people were really cool and I haven’t had any problems since then. Vivint's service has been great and their system is very easy to use. It's been an awesome experience.

My experience with Vivint has been good. Right now, I'm not in my house, my daughter’s staying there. A few times, we forgot we had the system, and we opened the door. Also, one of my grandkids punched the button, and the people at Vivint have been really nice and got right on it whenever it was accidentally activated. Their service has been great.

Love camera and doorbell. Delays in doorbell intercom however motion detector never misses. Delays in mobile phone when opening garage but it works. Wish timing were a little faster when disarming and arming. We are adjusting and hope to get service soon. Service appointment was a 2 week wait. Not happy with the two week wait.

Dealing with this company was probably the worst experience I've ever had with customer service. I called to clear up an issue and I was on the phone with 14 people trying to clear up the issue and cancel an account that never was active in the first place. I would not recommend this company whatsoever. I would suggest ADT well above this company.

Mysteriously, years ago, a day after my house got broken into, a representative from Vivint showed up at my door. I was curious how he knew my house happened to get broken into, but he said they’re just in the neighborhood. And at the time, I didn’t have anything because I'm only renting the house. I then got Vivint. At one time I was going to switch to ADT and when I called to cancel, they offered me way more protection for a little less money so I stuck with them.
One New Year’s morning, I woke up to my panel going off. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I had my ringer off on my phone since I was planning on sleeping in New Year’s day, and I got up and looked at it and it said it was the carbon monoxide detector in the basement. My daughter and my grandson were staying with me so I went down to make sure everybody was okay. I told them to get upstairs while I cleared the panel and I went back down. While I was down there, it went off again. I came back upstairs and as I was clearing the panel, I happened to look up the front blinds and half of the Des Moines fire department was out in front of my house.
Something happened to my furnace and it was dumping carbon monoxide into the house. The fire department came and checked my furnace, and they said there was a lot of carbon monoxide. They had to red tape my furnace because it was putting out too much carbon monoxide. Vivint did its job that day and I ended up getting a new furnace two days later. Before I was supposed to switch to ADT, I didn’t have fire alarms or carbon dioxide detector. Vivint then doubled my coverage and I got a carbon monoxide thing in the basement with a fire alarm, one in the garage, one upstairs, and a couple of extra things in my garage. I was happy. I would definitely recommend Vivint. In fact, I’m going to be recommending my little brother because he keeps asking me about it and I need to get a hold of him and get him their information so we both get a $50 credit.

We can turn the Vivint system on and off whether we're inside the house or out. We also have a couple smoke alarms. I'm satisfied with their service so far. I love Vivint and would recommend it to a friend.

I checked out a lot of things about Vivint before I bought my service package from them and there were quite a few good reviews. It's a good product and I'm glad I have it. My package includes cameras at the front door and in the garage, ability to speak microphone-type thing and recording activity at the front door. I like the device and enjoy the system but there are some drawbacks to it such as the price but that was my fault for accepting it. Another drawback is the slow camera response. Even though it's nice that I can see who's at my front door 100 miles away, sometimes when someone rings the doorbell, by the time I figure out who it is, they're already in the house.
Also, there was too much high pressure from the salesperson that many people from our neighborhood sent him away and were surprised that I signed up. But he did everything he said he was going to do as far as the temporary discounts are concerned. Then their team came very late at night for the installation. They also stayed late until they finished but that was on me as I wanted them to stay late at night. However, they drilled holes in the wall that exposed wire and resulted with the wire running across my wall and I was not happy with that. Other than that, I am satisfied with the service so far.

I pay for my parents home security system. I live in California, my parents live in Cedar Rapids, IA. My parents are 86 & 85 years old. A sales rep sat in my parents kitchen (ate ice cream with them!) and convinced my Dad to sign a 5 year agreement for a home security system. I have paid for the security system the last past 2 years (monthly fee). My parents have since moved to a smaller / 1 level secure townhouse. My parents no longer need a security system.
When I called to cancel the agreement is when I found out my Dad signed a 5 year agreement. Vivint's position... "too bad, contract has been signed. If your parents pass away, then their contract may be able to be voided." Come on! What type of company targets an 85 year man! He certainly does not need a 5 year agreement for anything. I guess if you really need the commission! The company should be ashamed of themselves.

I have had problems with my equipment since the first day. The cameras couldn't be installed due to rain so we set up another appointment. No call, no show so we set up another appointment. No call, no show AGAIN! My cameras are just laying on the counter. Since they never show up to fix the problems and finish the installation, we are going with a different company.

I've been with Vivint since last July. They put a camera and my little fall-and-I-can’t-get-up button, and the smoke detector and water detector. Vivint is a good system. The guys who came out did all right with the installation. However, the doorbell works but the door camera is terrible. If the internet goes out overnight, then when it comes back on, sometimes the camera comes on and sometimes it doesn’t. In fact, it hasn’t been on now for a week and a half. It just decided to go out. I tried to reboot everything like they tell me, but still, they don’t work.
It breaks down every few weeks so I just forget about it. They said I got to have the internet on. My internet is not on all the time, but it is supposed to be going to the cloud if a person doesn’t have the internet. They could still have a camera, I'm sure that shoots up pictures to the sky so there’s something strange about it. The guys have come around now three times. They sent a little fix a couple of weeks ago to everybody and it worked for a while. My sister has Vivint so that’s why I got the system. Her camera’s always working but her internet’s always on also. She doesn’t have any problem like I do. Somehow it might be because my house is so old that the electricity where you hook it to is from 1962.
The problem is that they hooked it up to an older doorbell and maybe the electricity’s screwy on it. I got to turn off the power for the bell. It might reset that way but I can’t get to the box right now. There's so much in front of it, and I can’t even open up the panel to turn off the electricity for the individual stuff. When they come out they have a hard time getting it going, but they eventually get it going then it works for a few weeks and then it’s gone again. Some guy came out and said they got screws. We’re supposed to insulate behind the screws so they don’t short out so he did that and then it worked and then they sent a fix down because they were having problems with them all over. And it seemed to work for the next day but now it’s not working again. I don’t want to even bother having the guys come out because it’s not going to last.
I don’t turn on the system that much at night when I’m sleeping because I had too many false alarms went off. I aged by getting scared. At one time, I sneezed really loud and the alarm went off in the middle of the night. And then I was shaking trying to get to the stupid box trying to find out if somebody’s in the house. They came and turned down the sensitivity.
Another time, a piece of metal dropped on the floor and it set off the ceiling thing. So now I only put the damn thing on when I leave the house. It has gone off four times accidentally. It scared the hell out of me because it always happened at night. So when I leave during the day, I definitely turn it on every time. I don’t forget, but when I’m home, I'm afraid to do something. I hate that sound. I don’t use the smartphone to check on what’s happening at the house even though I could. I keep getting notices from Vivint when somebody rang my doorbell, but other than that, I can’t see them. There’s no record of them anymore. I'm very dissatisfied on the camera. It keeps breaking. Other than that, everything's good.

I had contracted with AT&T first and I had asked them at the time if they did alarm systems as well and they said no but they recommended Vivint. I've been with Vivint for about a year now and everything has always gone smoothly. When my alarm went off, they quickly called me and made sure that everything was okay. So, it works as it should.

We want to protect our things on the inside and wouldn’t want a break-in. We called Vivint then someone else, but Vivint was quick to call us back. They're out in Oregon, had great service, did the less longer dance and talked really fast. We got the fire and the theft alarm from Vivint. But our plan is more costly than the others and we're required to do a five-year contract. Vivint was really quick to get that through but we have already given our card number and we couldn't beg. Our fault was trusting them and now we're paying for a plan that's severely overpriced for the convenience.
We told Vivint that we are Federal employees who just came back from overseas and we're more likely to be required overseas. When that happens, we're probably going to be required to pay this contract off before it's up. We're into the second year of our five-year contract and as soon as we're out, we're dropping Vivint because it's ridiculous. It's a ripoff and we will not recommend this to anyone. They're so money-hungry.
When we come to the door, though, we can hear the alarm. And when I accidentally set off the alarm, we had to run up really quickly to try to turn it off, but we weren't able to. Vivint called me through the console right away and we told them that we were here and gave our number. With the alarm, we have to be in the house and talk at the console with them. That is good because a burglar won't know that or the code. But for $90 a month and five years, that is not worth it. We had ADT before, paid $29.99 and they provided the same service as Vivint. We were locked for two years too. With Vivint, we're so screwed for nothing and also, we're the only suckers with a Vivint sign in our neighborhood and the only ones with the high cost. Vivint needs to benchmark and be more competitive. Buyer beware.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law had Vivint installed in their house. They never said they had a problem with it so we decided to try it. What happened was we were going to move the service down from my mother-in-law’s house to my house. My father-in-law died and she moved in with us so we were going to just transfer the service down but her stuff was a lot older, so we got all brand new stuff. The salesperson I talked to did a good job as far as telling me what I needed for the house.
The technician who came and set it up did a very good job. He was kind, courteous, fast, didn’t seem to have a problem. The only thing is, when we bought the service, I told them how many windows I had and all this stuff and apparently, they have a point system and a window is two points. So with all my windows, they told me there would be a certain amount of contact, but when they got there, they found that they needed almost four times as many or I wouldn’t be able to do it. The tech called the salesperson who then said to go ahead and upgrade us. They gave me the rest of the sensors and contacts for free. That was a very good addition.

There was a Vivint security system that was installed but not hooked up when we bought the house so we had it upgraded and put the service back in. The service is fine and I have no problems at all with it. Their sales rep was very polite and helpful. Over the course of the year that the service has been in, there have been some operator problems on my end but my interactions with Vivint's call center have been fine. They’ve answered everything. We’re satisfied with Vivint from sales to follow-up and I’m glad it’s here. I’ve already recommended them and there have been neighbors who have reinstalled or first-installed Vivint because we got it.

Vivint's rep, Davis, came to my door when they were going around our neighborhood. I got the doorbell, doorbell camera, a camera on the inside, the glass breaker, the fire alarm, and two thermostats included in my service package. The technicians that came to our home were very good. The panel is slow to react sometimes. When the alarm is on and we come to the door, it takes about two to three seconds for it to register. With our other alarm system, it immediately goes off right when you open the door. We're very satisfied with our experience with Vivint, though.

We got the basic package from Vivint. Their guys were around the neighborhood and I had two of them show up at the same time to install the system. When our account became due and we had to renew it again, I had to have the device moved to the front door instead of where it was by the back door. We use the front door and getting into the house, we have to run to the house to turn it off. If we use the front door, all of a sudden it'll start beeping. But other than that, their guys were great. They showed up when I asked to have that changed and did it perfectly for me.
One thing however was we came home from a weekend away and the system was making a heck of a noise. The battery was low. We had to check into that and it was the first time this happened since we've been with Vivint. Overall, it's been an excellent experience. They've been very good to us even when I accidentally opened the garage door to take the trash out and forgot to turn the alarm off.

I've had the service for 10 months. At first it was good. I don't know what changed but as of November 15th I no longer have access to my camera. There have been daily calls, multiple techs, camera changes, panel changes and a router added. I have had people at my home almost daily, so far no one has talked about giving me any credit and the camera still does not work. Today I had an appointment from 8-11a, and when no one showed I was advised it was from 2-5pm. When I called at 5pm I was advised the tech had called in sick but no one bothered to tell me and I needed to reschedule. This is the worst company I have ever been involved with. BEWARE. From what I understand they were under another name and had I known I would have researched and never entered into a contract with them.

Best system ever. The app on my phone lags a little bit and I believe you should have better promotion stickers saying of this home is protected and automated by Vivint to scare away would-be intruders. Your promotion stickers now do not inform people that this is a security system.

I've been a Vivint customer in other locations and this time, I decided to get the indoor camera and the door that can be remotely locked and unlocked. These features have been helpful. I could monitor my home from anywhere as far as the camera goes. There have been a couple of times when my dog set the alarm off unintentionally, but I was able to see that it wasn't somebody crazy that was in my house. It has been a really good service and I would recommend them.

I found a list online of the 10 best security systems and I got a call immediately from Vivint. The service package we availed of from them has devices on the doors and windows. If my windows are touched, the alarm goes off. I can also set the alarm with my phone when I'm away from home. When I first started, I set the alarm off a few times coming in from my garage into the house just forgetting. Then the last time it happened, a tech service responded. We talked and they ended up putting a 30-second delay on the alarm so that I have time to get into the box and turn it off. I haven't had that problem since then. Their staff are helpful, and always really courteous.

One of my boys has Vivint, and he talks about how much he loves it, so I kept trying to push my husband into it. My husband never wants to spend money, but I finally talked him into it. And then, my other son also got it because we had it and I kept telling him about it. He put it in after we put ours. I love everything with the system. I wish I could do more, but it's a little bit expensive. By the time we came around to having Vivint, it was more expensive than when my son got it. They might have just started, so he got a lot more things than we did and he still winds up paying less than we do.
I've never had to call the people at Vivint since I've never had a problem. I love their sales girl, though. She and I got so close, and we talked so much. The first installation group were messy and left everything behind and I had to clean up after them. Then we had the cameras put in later, and the next installation group was good. We love our security system. I hear so much around me that people break into homes and I always feel so much better knowing that I have the alarm system on. I feel a lot more secure.

I have the window sensors, glass break detectors upstairs and down in the basement, and the front and back door sensors. I had the panic button when my mom was alive and I'll probably be using it now. The Vivint system is a wireless phone connection. I'm very satisfied and happy with the service. Every time that the alarm has gone off, they right away contact me to ask me what's going on. A couple of times I've accidentally hit the panic button trying to turn off the alarm and right away they called me on the intercom asking if everything was okay.
On the phone, I've talked to several people whenever I've had issues. A couple of times the batteries were low and I didn't know what was going on and they walked me through everything. So I've been very satisfied because every time I've needed anything from Vivint, they're very helpful and patient because I'm real slow when it comes to technology. The installation team was very nice and made sure that they showed me everything. I was very happy with them.
A few years back, someone else came to the door saying how Vivint doesn't do things like coming in, monitoring, and checking their equipment. So I had put in an order to have my system switched and when I called Vivint to break my contract with them, they asked me why. I explained it to them and they said everything that the person had told me was not true. So I was very appreciative of Vivint opening my eyes to this fraud from the other company. They notified me that anytime that anybody tries to do stuff like that, I am to call Vivint first and find out before I sign any contract with other people.
I was really glad that they took the time to talk to me instead of just saying, "Okay, you want to terminate, that's fine." They told me about everything that they knew about people that were coming around this area doing those kinds of things and so it really helped me. I've told everybody that I know about Vivint. Whether or not they take it, that's up to them. But I do brag about Vivint. It's an excellent company and I would recommend it to anybody who would ask about home security. The only thing is I wish it was a little bit lower as far as the payments because at one time I seriously considered cancelling it out because I retired and didn't have checks coming every two weeks. I had to start budgeting more than I was before but my daughter told me not to cut it so I went ahead and kept the service.

Without my knowledge my husband got the system through Vivint using my social security, and my name but his debit card all without my permission and without my verbal or written authorization. My husband told me that they tricked him into giving my information since his credit was bad. My husband asked multiple times to vivint, "Do we need to call my wife first at work before we use her social?" They said "NO". They made a contract in my name without me knowing and without my authorization and they did not have my consent to do. My husband was scammed and vivint did identity theft using my information. They also had my husband forge my name upon install which my husband asked, "Doesnt my wife need to sign this tablet document?" Again they said no and just to write my name.
I found out it was in my name after 20 days of service because my city's police department billed me $32 to register the system when they did not tell this to my husband. My husband then told me everything what I said above already. I told my husband I did not want this in my name cancel this since vivint told him he had 30 day trial period until contract was locked in. He wrote email to documents@vivint.com to give notice of Cancellation and gave them the reason. And nothing happened.
We call vivint multiple times with different reps which was on a Saturday which told my husband where to email Cancellation notice and even stated we were under the 30 days for Cancellation and should be fine, just call back on Monday when that department is open. We did that many times and they said we had to pay whole contract or sell it on Craigslist. We said, "No, you scammed us and did identity theft and illegally obtained a contract in my name without my permission and without my verbal or written authorization and it under the 30 days trial period." Some reps said "no its 10 days" or "2 days" or "7 days" or "3 days" and said nothing about the illegal activity they did.
Lastly, I told them "I'm done saying this same thing over and over. Cancel it or I'm pressing charges." Vivint said "go ahead, talk to your attorney." I said "No not attorney. I'm am pressing charges on vivint for their illegal activities." Then they hung up on me. I then filed a police report, filed a better business report, and a federal trade commission report of all their illegal activity. Then found out day after I told them I was going to press charges on them that they charged my debit card that same day then hung up on us. How did vivint get my debit card number when my husband used his debit card and he canceled it that same day of the last phone conversation we had with vivint. So now on here. And I can not show proof of contract because they never gave my husband one. They said they will email it but never did.

I got Vivint's doorbell camera and the other camera that allows me to talk to my kid. I mostly talk to the kids and then see who goes through that door. I bought the Nest and the security door. It's smart to be for the wife when she's in the kitchen and someone rings the doorbell. She can look at it on the panel near the kitchen. The rep was very knowledgeable. I had a couple of times they have come out and fix a couple things there in the house. The service is excellent. When I asked for the security codes to be able to add others, they gave me the information. They were prompt and I was able to have it.

You will wait a very long time to talk to someone. They will not be knowledgeable and will not care about your problem. They lock you into very long term contracts and make them deliberately one sided, where the customer cannot get out for ANY reason. I believe they do this because they would not keep customers otherwise. Stay away - go with anyone else. Can't wait till we expire and I no longer have to play their game.

I had camera, locks, glass break and smoke detector, and the doorbell included in Vivint's service package that I purchased. Their sales rep was great and their installer was really good as well. However, my door lock gets stuck when I lock it, but other than that, everything has been okay.

One more time I am going to complain about this service. Over charging for monitoring, did not install anything more than a panel, complained numerous times about the alerts that I don't get! They upgraded my software and messed it up so it had to be done at again... My time to remove panel plug and software took forever... twice. Now my son stayed with me and I authorized him. He got constant alerts! I have never gotten one! Still cannot get alerts on my phone. My alarm went off and it alerted my son. I did not get the alert. Why am I paying $54 a month!! I have begged Vivint to give me a break as I am on SS... Once Chad told me he would take $10 a month off my bill... Never happened!

We got Vivint's service package that included two cameras, the doorbell, and those break-in deals and sensors inside, the ones on the wall. I was having trouble for a while and they came out about two weeks ago and put another modem and something else in there. The sales rep and the installation team were very good. The guy was really friendly.

I used Vivint for a couple of months 'til I got hurt and laid off from work. I was very happy with them. Their sales rep who came by initially and knocked at our door was awesome and not pushy. He also had five guys show up for me who busted out everything. I like that they're really responsive on their alarm calls and the fact that they came straight to my cellphone so I knew exactly what's going on. I even like them way over ADT because I always had equipment problems with ADT while I didn't with Vivint.

We were offered the door lock but when technician came to put it and he did not have the equipment or the training to complete the job as our door did not have the hole for the deadbolt. We are enjoying the other services that we got that were disappointed in the deadbolt feature.

While cancelling my service I was not told or aware that a 30 day period was needed to cancel their service. While talking to the rep over the phone he said it will be cancelled immediately. 30 Days later I'm still getting charged. So far 2 bills of $44.00. When I called and asked why, they said both periods fill between the 30 days. I called on Nov 2 2016. My billing Cycle is 5th of each month. I got charged November and December. While talking to a supervisor she repeatedly said it was within the 30 day period which based on these time frames is not. This was always an issue with this company. They find every way to swindle money from your pocket. I would stay away and go with another service.

I love my new system. I like everything about it. Everything was explained very well to me. The installer was great and helped me with everything I needed to know. I've been telling all my friends about Vivint. I got a glass break and a camera out at the back. I got a camera doorbell and another one on the inside at the back door. The only thing to complain about would be the phone that I'm using at the time because some phones are very responsive to the system, like a switch from a Samsung to a Google Pixel. Google Pixel was very responsive, but with the Samsung, when somebody comes to my door, I do not see them right away if at all.
I'm trying to alert the team that comes into the neighborhood to get to these new developments before anybody else does because Vivint is the superior choice and a lot of times people get bum-rushed like I did with other companies that aren't half as good. Vivint has the better system. I'm not only impressed with Vivint. I'm satisfied with them. I give them top marks all the way across the board. They are superior in every respect. And the sales representative that I dealt with was very professional, very personable, and they actually care. Professionals are rare today. And with that being said, I was very impressed and I didn’t hesitate to acquire that part of it for my home.

I got a baby monitor from Vivint and the service has been great. The sales rep is very knowledgeable. I'm very satisfied other than the system that I have is not adaptable. You have to buy a complete different system for the upgrade. At the time that it was sold, they offered the upgrade with the system but I understand it's not available now. But overall, Vivint is very good.

We have been looking around and talking about getting a security system and a Vivint rep came to the door. He was very knowledgeable and non-pushy, so we let him in and listened and proceeded from there. The installers were also great. They’ve done three installs for us because we’ve moved three times and all three have been phenomenal.

To be honest I love the system and safety the product offers me and my family. Everything works great and I feel very safe and secure. My issue is that I need to move and do want to take the system with me, only thing is at the moment my family does not know the exact location we will be moving to yet. I called at the end of November and advised of our situation; the representative advised to request a 6 month deferment, which we qualified for, the following week. So I called back the following week and was told that they do not offer deferments to customers who are within the first year of their service.
While I understand there are policies in place, I have a hard time placing my trust within a company that cannot tell me this in the first place. It is not that I want to end my contract, sell it to someone else or not pay at all - they will get their money. I understand that they have a lengthy 48 month contract that they require you sign up for and I am not trying to get out of it; I just do not want to pay for a service that we technically will not be receiving until we know exact location where we will be moving to. Very disappointed.

I can go on and on. But the most recent hiccup from them was I left a memo saying I need in my sensors installed as close to 11 as possible. Today December 5, the tech called and said he won't be Here until 2:40... Sounds expedited huh. The kicker is I signed a 5 year EXPENSIVE contract them.

Sell person Nicholas lied and played on words to get a new home security. Nicholas gave me 30 days free trial period. I was not satisfied with the service after 3 days and they debit my account and was not supposed to. Called on several occasion and the account representatives give false name and give different story about your account every time you call. They refuse to refund my money and to cancel my service. They continue to mislead me and returning my funds. I believe they are waiting for my 30 days to be up to say I can't get my money back. I emailed them to cancel the service and they claim they haven't receive it. Fraud.

We got the security system, thermostat, and the cameras from Vivint. We got these features to make sure that nobody is going to break in. We've had a few calls with the sales representatives at Vivint and they’ve been very helpful and quick to get our problems sorted out. The installation people explained how everything worked and showed us how to make it work. Also, they gave us numbers to call if we had any more questions. I'm very satisfied with their product and the help we had when we had problems.

Things were starting to happen in the neighborhood - people breaking into cars and other things like that. Our next door neighbors' house was burglarized while he was in it. We have a little boy in our house and my wife works from home. So we had Vivint install sensors on our two garage doors, our front and back doors, our downstairs windows, and one upstairs window. We also have a fire and carbon monoxide detector and then we have the touch screen control center in our house that has a camera. We have a doorbell camera and the keyed entry lock on the front door. The installers asked me where the best place to put the sensors so they don't have to cause too much damage and they didn't take too long. They went over the features and a couple of things on the control panel touch pad.
In addition, a sales representative came by to make sure the system was functioning the way it was. Within a month, we had somebody replace one of the sensors, but they were running late and we just canceled. We got new windows that I'd be installing and set it up myself. They called us from the little message center control panel and we talked with them a little bit. They saw us and everything was fine.
I'm extremely satisfied with Vivint. If somebody's coming in when the security system is armed, we'd know about it and they'll inform the police. That happened once. My brother-in-law came to see the dog when we're out of town. We forgot to let them know that the system was armed and we were out of cell phone range, so he had an unpleasant experience.
Vivint's staff knew exactly how everything worked. Everything was pretty simple in how everything communicated. There was one place where we changed the batteries on the door. The door sensors change batteries every now and then. They told us exactly what to do and everything worked well. They made everything very easy to understand or not to have too much interaction with the equipment. Their service does what it does and everything works. On the other hand, they asked us to sign up for a commitment for five years which we signed up to. I came to think about it and that's probably a little bit too long. That's one thing I don't like, but we plan on keeping it anyway.

Keep losing connection to the Vivint app on my phone. Sometimes cameras drop offline during the night. I check in the morning to find nothing has been recorded. Unable to view cameras. Overall happy with smart set up. I will be connecting lights and other devices very very soon.

A door-to-door salesman from Vivint came to our door and he was knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. The features of the system are all working properly. I like being able to lock my house and turn the alarm off and on with my cellphone and the added features of being able to customize it a little bit. Also, the installation person seemed to know what he was doing and everything seemed to work fine. The only problem he had was that a couple of the door sensors wouldn't connect with the control panel very well and he had to go back and get a couple of the doorknobs with the keypads. Those failed the first time and he had to come back the next day and replace those.
Furthermore, it seems to me that Vivint makes me pay for too much. Everything is an add. If I want this or that, it means more money. For instance, I wanted to be able to have our smoke alarms installed that would set off the alarm automatically. I would think that'd be part of a standard whole home package, but it wasn't. It would be another $5 to do that per month and it's a four-year contract. So, $5 times 48 months would be a good chunk of money.

We were going to have another guy put in a home security system but he didn't show up. A guy from Vivint knocked on my door and we went with him. We have their door lock and camera devices. I had an incident wherein I left the garage door open. I had a pain patch and took half a pill for my back issues then so I don't remember anything. Apparently I went back in the kitchen to turn the alarm but I didn't. I barely just got off the kitchen when I fell on the floor - the part from my waist landed on concrete, the top half on the carpet, and I also hit my head. The alarm went off again and this time, Vivint called my husband at work. My husband called our neighbor and by then the alarm went off the third time. My neighbor even heard it that time. I have two sheriffs pull up in front of my house where they found me unconscious on the floor. They took me to the hospital.
Thus having Vivint had paid off. I use it when my husband is not around and I'm by myself in the house all day. Right now, I have the garage door opener with me by my bedside so I can set the alarm in case I forgot to lock it. We even asked Vivint for another garage door opener which we gave to our neighbor so that she can get in my garage or turn my alarm off if anything happens. My neighbor is afraid of it so she hit the wrong garage to shut it off.

Whatever you do, avoid Vivint like the plague. They do not hold up to their agreements. We purchased a system from them which included an outdoor camera system. Since purchasing the equipment our vehicle has been broken into on 3 occasion... None of which the camera showed and yet our neighbor's security camera was able to show the criminals breaking into my cars without any issues... Makes me wonder if it's an "inside job".
Now to my point of this post. I wanted my money back since their system wasn't providing us with security, not to mention the cost of the property that was stolen from our vehicles, so I went to Vivint customer service and got nowhere with them. I went to the Better Business Bureau and within a couple of weeks Vivint agreed to some of my conditions which included reimbursement for part of the money I've paid them as well as allowing me out of my contract... This was back in early August. To date they haven't reimbursed me a penny, and on top of it they are still charging me every month. Now because they couldn't hold up their end of the bargain, I have to go back to the BBB again and ask for the case to be reopened. If you don't already use Vivint I would suggest staying far, far away from them.

The sales rep from Vivint was nice and the installation team installed the security system right then and there. I've had a few alarms but they're nothing serious. I'm teaching my granddaughter how to cook so there's a bit of smoke here and there. Vivint has been very fast at responding.

First week I had the Vivint security system, my next door neighbor decided to break in to my house while I was out of town. He couldn’t cut the wires for the Vivint system because it's on my cell phone. So my neighbors saw him and they called the cops. And I set the alarm off one time. By the time I got half way up the steps upstairs, the authorities were already at my door. It was an accident but the reps have always been polite about not getting mad at me for doing it. All in all, it's a good alarm system. I've turned down every other alarm system that’s come around and asked me about it. I tell them I'm happy with Vivint and I don't want to change it to anything else. I've talked to the reps in many different times and places and they're very polite. I've never had a good explanation of newer things that they had to offer so somebody's coming out to check my box on the wall and see if I need a different one.

I have a regular alarm and the motion sensor from Vivint. I have four outside doors and one outside window that are protected. I also have the bracelet for medical emergencies. I had trouble with that as it would all of a sudden go off without me touching it. In fact, the last time it went off, it was just sitting on the tabletop. I called Vivint and talked to them about that. They analyzed over the phone that it was defective and said they're replacing it for $60. It's probably in the mail right now on it's way to me.
The equipment, as well as my experience with Vivint, has been very good. Every time I contacted them, their reps were very friendly and able to assist. I'm 85 and a little bit clumsy. I had a couple of false alarms where I accidentally set it off opening the door without turning it off first. Their reps have been very understanding about it.

About 2 & 1/2 years ago a young salesman came to the door and my wife made the mistake of answering it. The salesman was very, very aggressive about telling me more information regarding Vivint, the company he was selling alarm systems for. I was very hesitant about signing up with a security system for such a lengthy contract. Honestly, the contract length seemed absurd. However, after about an hour of going through the detail, he reassured both of us (on multiple occasions) that Vivint is a very flexible company and getting out of our contract would not be a problem at all. Still, on the fence, he even paid me $100 cash (Crazy) to sign up. The deal seemed too good to be true.
A year and a half later, we moved to a very low-risk, gated community. An alarm system was not something we still needed. I called to cancel, and to my surprise, Vivint would not flex in letting me out of my contract at all. Absolutely no exceptions. When I told them about what the door-to-door salesman had told me, they responded with "he is technically not our employee and we cannot be responsible for what they promise." Therefore, here I am with a contract I don't need and can't get out of. I'm also scared when, IF EVER, I will be let out of this contract. I keep hearing stories from other reviewers that Vivint has automatically renewed their contract for another 4 years once the first 4 year contract expires. Crazy!

The one thing that sold me the most about Vivint was the doorbell video. At the time, my doorbell didn't work and they gave me another camera. I was very pleased with everybody. The installation team was very professional. The guys came in and told me what they were going to do. They did not leave a mess and the mess they did, they cleaned up. They showed me everything and how it worked at the very end. I knew the salesperson from a previous work and he was still just as kind, courteous and professional while he was explaining everything to me. He told me what the benefit was with what I was going to with Vivint. Sometimes we accidentally set the alarm off. I like the quick response of the alarm folks over the intercom to speak to whom they were actually talking to and that I do belong in the house.

We've always had good experience with Vivint so far. Working with the sales rep was good. Plus, the installation team was great. We only had one problem with Vivint and that was with my sister. She went from her home into a retirement home so she had to end up paying for almost a whole year for something she wasn't using and it was the owners of the house who did not want when she sold it; that was really wrong. We did too, that they should've let her out of the contract because it was not generally specific to her that she went to another place and it's a place where she doesn't need to keep paying. Nevertheless, Vivint did a good job for us, and I would recommend them.

I like the basic package that I got from Vivint. I like the camera, the smoke detector, and the features. We're somewhat satisfied with the service but my camera keeps going out even though everything is fine with my Internet. Also, I'm gonna call them as I need to find out how I can permanently delete all the photos on the phone because I don't wanna keep them. However, I don't think everybody should have been put into a five-year contract because if I move and I wanna take it with me, and they don't service out in that area, I still have to pay Vivint. That's one thing that they did wrong. A two or maybe three-year contract would have been good.

I thought Vivint was a good company until today. Today makes the third time I had to call and complain about low battery alerts on my system. They want to charge me to come out and replace batteries on a system that's just a year and a few months old. I had another alarm system in my house before so what they did was used my old system that's was in the house. Instead of them installing new stuff with the new system they used the old stuff to save them money and make you think you getting a deal. They refuse to come out and fix it for free. You would think since it was their fault for the installer not changing the battery when he put the new system they would make it good.
I wouldn't refer this company to no one else. My other service I had for over eight years no trouble. Switch over to this company you got to sit and listen to the alarm panel beep all night because of low battery sensors and the sensors are hard wired in. If anyone do still decide to go with this company don't let them use your old system because you going to get the short end of the stick. Make them put all new sensors. It's sad a billion dollar operation wanting to charge you to fix something they should have done right the first time.

We had some robberies and burglaries down the road from us and I felt that it was time to have home security. A friend of mine had ADT and I compared prices before I signed up with Vivint, and I'm happy with Vivint. The sales rep who came out was real nice and professional as well as the installation team. We had another home security service for years, but they never contacted us about updating anything and didn't seem concerned. We changed to Vivint, and the service costs a little more than what I paid for before with our previous service, but the security system has additional features, so it's good and I like it. It can be set remotely from our device or phone and we had the key fob, the fire detection, and the panel where we can get an alert on the monitor, even if there's a storm. However, I have to be very careful in the kitchen. I dropped a fork somewhere by the sensor, the alarm went off immediately, and then the Vivint guys alerted me. I heard them on the panel, which is neat. But there have been no false alarms, other than with those loud noises right by the sensor.
I had some interactions with the reps when I changed my billing information. They were very pleasant, responsive, and alert, and could accommodate my needs. The installation team were very quick and didn't leave a mess. I had good instruction from them. They explained how to set the system up on the iPad where I can control it from my device. If I'm in here, I can disarm and set the system. I mentioned to the Vivint guys that I might get a camera installed, but it'll be a while before I do that. Overall, Vivint has an excellent service, a good plan, and a good security system. I like that their system is not tied to the phone line, unlike my previous system.

Several times I cannot get into the system due to technical upgrade or problem. The worst one was someone ring the door bell and I cannot talk to him. It takes too long to login even when I try to lock and armed the system.

For many years that I've been with Vivint, they charged me $50. AT&T or ADT asked me if I want to switch to them 'cause it's less than Vivint. So, I told Vivint about it and they dropped the price to $10. They're good just like when my alarm went off and they already alert me. I'll recommend them to a friend.

On most experiences I have been on the phone with them for over one hour. They promise fixes, discounts, and prompt service which does not happen. I have been with the company for over three and a half years and I am currently a month to month customer after completing my thirty six month contract. Now after talking with two different departments they are refusing to let me cancel my account and after just getting off the phone with the billing department they have told me can't cancel my account either.
I called my credit card company a week ago and put a stop on them from being able to bill my account. Now billing department says they will forward me to collections in the next couple of months. I have emails sent to cancel and have verbally canceled my account. My wife said three and a half years ago "all reviews are bad. Don't go with them." I bought into the salesmen who's name is Adam and can be reached at **. All I can say is find another security company.

If you are still within terms of your agreement and would like to cancel, you will need to find someone to takeover your contract or your can buyout the remaining months of your agreement. My brother or my friend referred Vivint to me so I got their service package that included the security, the sensors, the thermostat and the doorbell video cam. The sales rep and I had great interaction and the installer was very efficient in his job. He spent a lot of time with me and then went through everything with me and answered all my questions even though I asked the same questions 45 different times. It was a great installation. My only feedback is the doorbell camera gets a bit sensitive to light. It would trigger if a car was driving by or if I had a visitor any time as the street light will come on. I had to change the sensitivity when the time changes. I did this two weeks ago and it's been working well since then.

The house I moved into already had Vivint installed. We used the same stuff they had. It's been really good working with their sales rep. Everything’s been really professional. The technician they sent out to install some doorbell cameras was professional as well. I tripped the alarm by accident myself and they called real quick, so I know the system works. We like some safeguard for when we're not home and someone tries to break into our home or if we inadvertently leave the door unlocked. We got Vivint's security system and the installation team was very professional, courteous and personable. Everything has been great and I'm very pleased. We live out in the country and I go to work early in the morning and my wife is home by herself. The reps from Vivint came by and we said okay. The security system worked well 'til my electric went off and then nothing worked right. My wife's phone works fine but mine quit working with the system. It's not Vivint's fault, I just haven't sat down to try to figure out what's wrong. Other than that, it has been a pleasant experience.

Somebody from Vivint came door to door and we got it. It works and we're happy with it. We have back and front door and then the smoke alarm. It's really good for what we got. The sales reps were very nice and the installation team was all good. They showed how to use the products but it was very hard to learn for me. I still don’t know how to do it with the internet. There was a problem sometime ago with the smoke alarm and hopefully it wasn’t disconnected. We unsigned it, they told me to wait, and then they sent a new one. Everyone I talked to and who came were super nice, so they're great.

We travel a lot and felt like having the smoke detector, window breaks and doorbell camera from Vivint was safer whenever we're gone. They have very friendly and helpful reps. We’ve only had a couple of incidents where they’ve had to call and it’s been a really good experience. The installer was really good and quick. I'm completely satisfied with the service so far. It helped save our house from burning down a couple of weeks after we had it installed. We had a malfunction with our stove and if it had not been for them calling me and calling the fire department, our house would’ve burned. We’re very thankful for it.

I live alone, and pretty much keep an eye out for myself. I have Vivint's key fob, wrist band and neck pendant, smoke detector, and the glass break detector. I have sensors on my shop and shed, and I have the panel. I'm very much satisfied with the service, so far. Whenever I have a problem or when I goof up and set off the alarm accidentally, I call, and they're right on the ball. This happens often because I'm always out in the shed doing something, and when I lean over, I set it off on my wrist. Everything that I've dealt with has been excellent. I have no complaints whatsoever. I had a problem when I installed my new air conditioning unit the beginning of October, and I didn't know if it was my thermostat or my air conditioner. They were on the phone with me for 45 minutes, troubleshooting something that had to do with my electrical box, and were excellent. They told me what to look for, to call the air conditioning tech, and he came right out and fixed it.

Our subdivision is relatively safe but we wanna make sure we hear it if someone is trying to come in, especially because my husband has hearing aids and we're deep sleepers. Vivint's service has been excellent so far. The only thing is when we open the garage door, we can't hear the alarm system if we're not inside the house. Once, my son had called us and said that people were coming over because we left the alarm on. We stayed outside, opened the shed and forgot about it. Twice we had someone come to see if everything was fine. I wish there was a bell that would ring if we walk out of the house and open the shed door not realizing the alarm was on and that we have to come back inside and turn it off.
But their sales rep was very thorough. The system was explained when it was presented to us though we're learning as we go with the system and look at the manual for reference. The installers were professional and excellent, too. They cleaned up after finishing the job. And when we contacted their team members to make sure everything is okay, they did it promptly. We're pleased with our Vivint experience. I feel very secure with their system. And my son also has it. He's got everything including the camera because he goes away a lot. He says he can make sure if his daughter has a boyfriend and whether this guy comes around or not. He loves the system.

Love the system. Had a male and female team come the first night but they didn't let us know all that could be done. They just did what was on the order. The next day a specialist came out to do the smoke detectors and informed security holes and made recommendations. We really appreciated him going above and beyond. System has been great since.

I called Vivint on 9/20/16 and informed them of our moving and would not be able to take the system with us. Was instructed to send an email requesting disconnection of service which I did. The next month in October, they deducted 54.00. I again called and spoke with a accounts manager who stated they did not receive my email. I resent the original email and he gave his apologies and stated he would have the money credited back to my account. No problems right??? Not end of the saga... I looked at my checking account today (the day before Thanksgiving :/) and 108.22 was deducted by Vivint. Spoke to a accounts manager again by the name Andrew and he said he would try and help me to resolve this ongoing nightmare. Story to continue...

I used to have ADT and when I heard about Vivint and how they have more features, I went with Vivint. I got the doors, windows, smoke alarms, glass breaker and the video camera, and they're perfect. I'm not very satisfied with Vivint. At first it all seemed really good. Even our neighbors came over to have a look at it, and I talked to other friends too. Setting the thermostat was the most amazing thing. However, when I set it to sleep at night, the temperature drops to save gas. It took me a little while to realize this was happening so now I have to go back and reset everything. For weeks my dog always needed to go out at 1 o’clock in the morning, and I disengage the alarm to go out the back door to let the dog out and it resets the thermostat.
The technician that came to install the Vivint system was very helpful and tried to explain things to me. If I had issues they gave a number and I could call them. But since then, they were supposed to send a technician over because of issues we’re having and I’ve never heard anything from anybody. Twice they sent emails to the technician in town to make arrangements to come over and nothing. The door grinds when we go to lock it, and then it’ll eventually lock but it won’t set the alarm. The technician came back and had to replace the door lock because the original key stopped working, and he couldn’t even reset it.
A Vivint technician also tried to talk me through resetting the camera sensor. The camera picks up the leaves twitching in the tree but not people walking towards the house, which makes it useless. The same goes for the doorbell camera. It only takes a video if somebody rings the doorbell, which is probably standard, but we had some people knocking on the door one night but we had no clip to see who it was. For $75 a month I’m wasting my money because not one of the clips shows people walking up the driveway. Unless they ring the doorbell, there’s no evidence. I just got back from the city and I’m thinking about cancelling the service.

I see ALL these great reviews and just can't believe it. I've been dealing with a issue back/forth with calling having to wait about 20-25 minutes for someone to answer then having to be on the phone for over a hour to be still where I was 2 days; problem not solved. For the money you pay customer service should be way better than this but like most things it starts out GREAT until you're locked it then they're NOT trying to get your business, they have your business and that's unacceptable. I will be looking forward to getting another security company and the threat about having to pay penalty for breaking contract; what about VIVINT not holding up to their end?? Get ready for the fight because I'm going to challenge EVERY dollar.

I've been with Vivint for about a year and a half. Included in my service package are sensors for three doors and some windows, a glass break, a smoke sensor, motion sensors, and a video camera. When I first got them, their people explained the service levels and everything in the packages. They also did a very good job in the installation. The service has been very good so far and we feel safer with having the house monitored. I have recommended Vivint to several and I think one of them picked up on their service.
One time, we had a salesman come by the house a couple of months ago. He wanted to know if we wanted Vivint. We told him how very happy we are with it and that we wanted to add the doorbell with the little camera to the service. Disappointingly, I didn't get any kind of price break even after being a customer for a while. We had to pay the full price of $200 plus. Then there was a different sales person that came by who must have not noticed the sign we had upfront. So we got to talk with him for a while and he was talking about different things without mentioning that off-brand camera.

We have the portable camera, carbon monoxide detector, and the doorbell feature included in our service package from Vivint. We needed these features for security, and if there’s ever any gas leaking, we would like to know. The sales reps at Vivint were responsive. When I call, they answer my questions. If there’s something that they don’t know, they would put me on hold and get someone else to help or get the information or they’ll call back. And then in calling back, they were prompt.
There were times when we forget that we have the system. We open doors or windows and they call us. There was one time when my niece was here, and she didn’t know the security code. Vivint sent an officer out because they couldn’t reach one of us. So, they are on time. They don’t just advertise and say they’re going to do things. They really call back. If something goes on and the alarm goes off, they don’t hesitate and they call, which is good because anything could happen. The customer service department is on their job.
The installation guy was wonderful. The company that I had prior forgot to hook up the phone line to the actual service company. The installer from Vivint hooked it up when he finished putting everything in. Also, the way he set the alarm up locks the panel once we close our door all at once, which is great. He fixed the alarm to where once I close the door, there’s a code that automatically locks it. I don’t have to go back to the alarm board and lock it a second time. Every time I open and close the door, the alarm automatically locks. The code locks in, and it locks the door, so if anybody’s coming, I don’t have to worry about them pushing it and then I happen to go and do another code.
Our experience with Vivint has been really wonderful. It's been great that I can see the person who is coming and hear the conversation within 180 radius. If someone’s coming on the porch, it picks up that person or the communications that go on. They alert you. I don’t even have to get up when somebody comes to the door. I can go on the phone and let them in. Their service is great. I wouldn’t change it. I wouldn’t have any other company. In fact, I told one of my co-workers about Vivint, and he already had it. Also, a lot of my neighbors and friends have already gotten two-year contracts with them, and I have spoken to some who said they will receive it once they get out of their contract from other companies.

Vivint's salesman screwed some stuff up at the beginning and he didn’t seem to understand what existing system was already in the house. I think he was disconnected from the actual technology but things got straightened out eventually. I also felt that I waited on hold a very long time when I called. The on-site service was excellent though. Their service tech has always been very good. Overall, I'm satisfied with Vivint. The technology seems to be pretty advanced.

We have a new pool and some kids so we figured we'd upgrade our home security system. With our previous provider, the equipment itself didn’t seem to be as high-tech as Vivint. When I reached out to Vivint, we came up with a package that I thought was fair. It was a little bit more than what I was paying but I thought it was equitable for what I was gonna get. I paid a good price for the equipment. So far, Vivint's service is good. We have no issues. They have a user-friendly technology so it is easy to use. The customer service is also good. The guy who installed the camera was very thoughtful about where to put the wiring.

Getting a hold of someone during the day is nearly impossible. I've been on hold for 20-30 mins for than once. After having the system for weeks I just found out that I need a permit to have the police come to my home. Yet no one can explain how to complete that task. I think the system is overpriced.

The salesman/installer was courteous and helpful. The installation of the equipment was quick and he was informative. But he did not have any signs for the yard and promised he would be by in a day or so with a yard sign. That was three weeks ago. We have not heard from him since.

Vivint's installation guy came within a couple of days after I talked with their rep and put the device quickly, gave me all the instructions and we ran through the program. He came when I expected him and everything ran well. In the service package that I availed, it included the sensors on all the doors and windows and a touchscreen control panel, which I like. It has also a smoke alarm and the key fob thing. I had a lot of these features before from another company but Vivint's system is more updated and involves wireless connection. The service has been great and I haven't had any false alarms. Everything went as advertised. I left it on for weeks and there hasn't been any problem with it, even when there was a bit of a power outage while I was gone. It never missed a beat. Vivint delivered on what they said and it's been without any kind of a hiccup at all. I'm happy with it.

I have the portable camera, flood sensor, carbon monoxide tester, and the smoke detector from Vivint. It would come in handy if something was to happen. Their service is excellent. Every time there’s a possible alarm that goes off, I get a phone call right away and an email. The sales rep was really good and helpful. He explained everything in detail. My wife usually phones him when we have an issue. The first installer was a little bit new. He didn’t really know 100% what he was doing and called another guy in the area and he came over and helped right away. Everything's been really good so far.

I had Vivint for 3 years and had a great product and security. Recommended Vivint system to friends and family as we loved the home system. However, when we sold our home, we transferred the system to the new owner. Through the transfer process Vivint has been unwilling to help in the transfer of the system and now has decided without any notice to start charging me for a system I no longer use or own the home. Not only was the customer service unwilling to figure out how to fix the situation which I am here giving them more business, they want to charge me for the full contract to close account since "I am responsible" for account.
Absolutely terrible service and anytime you want to try to figure out what to do they want to transfer you to different department. Will spend 2-3 hours on the phone with Vivint just to figure something out that should take 10 minutes. Instead of trying to figure out how to keep my business they want to take easy route and charge me. Was going to install home system in new home I am renovating building but now I am switching due to the awful experience with customer service at Vivint. If you plan on having no interaction with Vivint then this is a great system for you, however, if you ever have to speak with Vivint to fix something then I would recommend you look for another system to use.

The neighborhood I live in is not what it used to be and there's drug traffic, stabbings and shootings around so I got a service package from Vivint which included a motion detector and alarm on the front, back and side doors. I was completely happy that the installer went over the system with me and didn't make a mess. It's a relief and I feel safe knowing I've got the alarm system especially that I live by myself now, and if anybody tries to break in I'm going to know it. I'm 100% happy with the service. When I had a low battery alarm going off, I called them about it and they satisfactorily answered my questions.

My service package from Vivint has cameras and glass break features. I'm satisfied with their service, but I didn't like that I'm not able to bulk delete all the saved video clips. It has to be deleted one at a time which is a little hectic especially when there's a bunch of them. Also, the installers didn't replace the batteries when the initial setup was done, so I had them replaced. Knowing that the system was old, they should've replaced them. The guy who came out to replace the battery told me that I had so many sensors that had a low battery. I also found out that a couple of my sensors on my office and den windows were not connected and secured. But, it has been taken care of already.

We were visited by a salesman who said that they were in our neighborhood for a one day promo that we would receive "FREE" equipment for displaying the Vivint sign as advertisement to others. After selecting our "free" equipment, he said that they would install within the next 2-3 business days. It was NEVER disclosed that we had there would be fees associated with this installation, activation or what the term of the contract were, etc. when discussing service - due to the fact that we have had negative experience with long term contracts we told him that we would sign for no longer than 2 years. He scrolled quickly thru the pages explaining them verbally and had us sign. (My mistake for believing the guy and not forcing him to allow me to read them before signing.) It took a few days for installation to complete and we never received the carbon monoxide sensor we were promised.
It wasn't until my husband was transferred and we were selling our house - I called to cancel our service. It was a little before the end and I expected certain fees for termination but was shocked to learn that we were in a FIVE YEAR contract! Not only that! But that we had a three day period that we could have terminated our contract at no cost! We have been forced to freeze our acct and to move service to avoid the thousands of dollars we would owe for our "free" equipment.
But even though we followed their protocol for calling, scheduling removal of equipment and freezing the service, I am STILL being charged! When calling the guy stated that there was no record of our move? But yet it shows that we had a work order for removal of equipment?!? They even damaged the wall when removing! I have pictures! Beware of this company! They are fraudulent in their claimed. I am investigating how to pursue this with the federal deceptive practices channel.

Vivint came to my home to install the system. The guy installed a smart thermostat. The technician didn't turn off any power to the HVAC system, just simply removed my old one and installed the new one. My home is a new construction and is less than 6 months old. A week later when I needed to use my heat, everything stopped working. I called Vivint and their tech over the phone stated I would need to contact my HVAC specialist cause it doesn't appear to be an issue with the thermostat.
I called the home builders who had their HVAC specialist come out. The HVAC specialist found that due to improper installation of the thermostat that it blew my heating board and several other components in the attic. He stated when he arrived the breaker was tripped. He tripped the breaker back on and had me turn on the heat using the Vivint thermostat, and while he was monitoring the system, the board basically caught fire right in front of his face.
We contacted Vivint and their claims resolution department stated that in order to pay the $1800 repair cost, they'd need another HVAC specialist to look at the system because they didn't believe the thermostat caused the problem. My HVAC system is under warranty with the HVAC specialist who installed the system. If another company touches the system, it voids out my warranty for future issues.
I declined Vivint's request for another specialist to look at the system due to this. My HVAC specialist had another specialist look at the system to verify with the other tech had confirmed. Both techs from my HVAC company confirmed what the issue was and what caused it. They gave me an invoice to give to Vivint and Vivint still claims that there is no way the thermostat could of caused my issues. They stated they have an in house HVAC Specialist which makes them HVAC certified.
From what I was told by my HVAC specialist, the tech that installed the thermostat had to be HVAC certified which he was not. Vivint sent a second tech out to remove the thermostat from my wall and I told the tech what happened and he stated that they had a summer hire install the thermostat and that he should of cut power to the system before installing it because it would send multiple signals to the board and cause it to explode which is exactly what happened. I even told Vivint that their own technician stated that this was possible but yet they won't fix the problem.
They offered me a $500 dollar settlement which I declined. I informed the claims resolution rep that it wasn't fair that I had to spend $1800 dollars to get my system fixed and all they were willing to pay was $500. She then offered me $750, which I declined again. She stated since I declined that amount that she would have to close the claim. I sat in a house with a 10 year old for 2 weeks with no heat or A/C until I was able to find $1800 dollars to have my HVAC specialist repair the system which wasn't covered under my warranty since the Vivint thermostat caused the issue.
I then called Vivint to cancel the entire system due to the poor service and my experiences with them thus far and they informed me that I was outside of my 3 day trial period when I was informed by three different people it was a 30 day trial period. They stated they would come take down the system but they would not repair the hole in my wall where the system was, they will not take the system away from the home, and that I had to still pay for the system monthly or buy out the contract. I was very hesitant to get Vivint due to all the negative reviews I've heard from other people but I decided to give them a try. Biggest mistake ever. I'm out of $1800 dollars and have a hole in the wall of my brand new home that I must repair now. I expected Vivint to protect my home in the event of a break in, but they can't even repair the damages they've caused.

We are extremely pleased with the system. It has made it so easy to set and disarm our system remotely in case we drove away forgetting to set it. Knowing the garage door is shut is seriously important, and now we can from anywhere. Absolutely love the system. It's so simple to use by my wife who shies away from technology, but loves this one. We've had Vivint for many years and I'm not happy with it right now. The alarm would just go off out of the blue if we're not here. They will say that we may have a spider web out there, even though I've just cleaned it. I asked for them to send someone out and check that area. My husband is a police officer so he would also come home with another officer to make sure that nobody's in the home and there's nothing going on. But that's the only thing I'm upset about, I've been happy with everything else though I feel like since we're a long-time customer, we're not their priority right now and the customer service was not the same as it was in the beginning. But overall, we love the service, we really like the alarm a lot and we feel safe with it.

I became a customer of Vivint on 4/2013. I didn't have a clue my thermostat was faulty until a air conditioner problem in 7/2016. The condenser froze over. The air conditioner technician told me it was a thermostat issue and I needed to call Vivint. He explained although I had been turning off my air and heat it continued to run. I thought the increase in power bill was an increase from my power company.
I contacted Vivint and they sent out their technician, he confirmed the thermostat was indeed the issue. After explaining the issue to Vivint, they assured me they would take care of me. As instructed I sent a year of bills before allowing Vivint to install their security products to my house and all of my bills while being their customer. I received an email for Vivint's claims department two months later. They replied, after viewing my case it was decided that it was my fault for allowing a problem to persist that I had no knowledge of. As a courtesy they would reimburse two months of my year and a half loss.

Installation was great. Received text saying my check would not clear. Called my installer & he called billing. Still my check didn't clear. I called billing got someone who took 26 minutes to tell me nothing. Poor poor service. Don't you need my payment. Again my agent called again. Hope all is resolved. Your billing agent told me to go and check with my bank. Poor request... they have nothing to do with the problem.

My daughter had made some trouble and was running with some bad people. When I was at work, she brought people here in the home. She cut an alarm and they unlocked the door, but I couldn’t get off from work early enough. They broke in, destroyed my home and they’d taken a lot of valuables. So I called Vivint about the garage and the garage door. Also majority on my windows, I have glass break and motion detectors. And I’m looking for another home. If I get a bigger house, then I’m gonna want something more than just an overhead garage and the door if I want to be with Vivint for three more years.
In the beginning, I was going through a lot of mistakes that Vivint did. I upgraded and they charged me for it, which they said they would not. They were taking money out of my account and overdraft my account numerous times, but so far, it's been good, because they resolved the matter in a flexible time. Everybody has been wonderful and I’m very pleased. I love the service and I tell my friends that they can’t go wrong with it. However if there’s a problem, I have to wait about four days before the service gets taken care of. But they informed me that they were gonna have a base station here in Illinois.
The installer has been very knowledgeable and professional. He realized that I needed another box and he restored that because the one I had was much older. And the price is very economical. And if I had a health challenge, I could push my button. I have it near the bed because I have had several surgeries of aneurysm. And I like the fact that we could communicate through the box if there’s a problem. Vivint is continuously growing with all this new technology and I really enjoy that. It gives you a sense of security that it’ll be more difficult for someone to enter into your home.

We lived in Utah and the company that Vivint bought just started out at the time and we purchased it. Since we traveled a bit, we thought that Vivint security would be a safe way to go. Then six years ago, we moved back home in Pennsylvania and they also installed it here. The installer was very good. However, when he was drilling the little window by the door to put the system, it broke the window, but they fixed it. They're very capable people. If we had any questions, they always gave us the answer. My husband called not long ago because our motion detector needed a battery and he talked to somebody there. He was very pleased with his interactions with their reps. So far, we're very satisfied with their service and we've also recommended them to a friend.

We just recently got the doorbell camera, thinking this would be a great asset to us for when we are out of town. Well, the install took about 4 hours. The guy who was installing the new Vivint Sky and the doorbell camera, actually ended up somehow disconnecting my backdoor doorbell. Now it won't ring. We have had nothing but issues with the front door doorbell camera. We do not receive notifications in 'real time'. There have been times when people have rung the doorbell and it never registers, or when I am at work the doorbell rings on my app but I cannot answer it from my iPhone 6S. They say I have to be on a Wi-Fi system, but why I ask if I have a plan with Rogers and have internet access without going on my Wi-Fi system at work? Anyways, thought I would try going on the slow Wi-Fi at work and my app doesn't even work. I can't access my app at all.
So, I can't answer my doorbell when it rings when I'm not at home, sometimes people have delivered items to our home and there is no indicator of that. There are times when we have left the house and 1/2 an hour to an hour later it pings on my app. Definitely not real time, and I am sure I am not the only one that this happens to. Unless of course, the tech (who has been to my home before) just knows absolutely zero about how to install this properly. But even the support staff on the phone, are not all very knowledgeable (some are) but to tell me it won't work unless I am connected to a Wi-Fi on my smartphone??? Okay that is ludicrous! We are not happy and want this inadequate doorbell camera out. Obviously it does not work, or the tech didn't know what he was doing.

Calling Vivint Customer Service Support is like pulling your teeth one by one until you bleed to death. My door didn't open this morning when I got home, call Vivint to see if they can help me. It took more than 20 minutes for someone to come on on the line. While I explain to them my situation the guy told me that he want to trouble shoot my system, I said "no this has happen more than 3 times and I noticed that my door lock is not working properly. We change the batteries every two weeks, I need my door lock to be replace".
He then said "no problem but do you know that you have to pay $49 dollars for a technician to come and take a look at your system". I said no then he said "is on your contract". I said "I do not care. I need this fix ASAP", then he goes "let me check my system, we have appointments for next week". I said "what? I can't get in my house and you are sending someone next week." That is crazy and very poor level of customer service. Then I asked to speak with a manager but of course he transfer me to a supervisor.
Supervisor didn't care about my situation, then asked to speak to a manager, then they transfer me to another supervisor, explain the whole situation to him again and he told me the same. Every time I call vivint feel this way. If it wasn't for the contract that they make you signed, I would be gone. My experience has been bad since the first appointment of installation. Is it a government agency that regulates companies like Vivint, I have never feel that they help me with any of my situations, and I often feel if the grade of security that they said they provide is really truth, or you as a customer just pay for something that is not even happening.
So far I had spend 90 minutes today on the phone and my issue has not been resolved. Wish I knew how to get in touch with a VP of customer service or the company to really give him my two cents, of their customer service department and technical support. They should be a department of excellence, when you as a customer feel protected and you didn't have fight for a service or let it get to spend a lot of time to explain and explain and explain your problem with the system.

I recently started living alone and was feeling uneasy, even though I have a dog and the neighborhood is ok. My brother got a quote from Vivint and liked his options so he got Vivint to install cameras and door alarms. I went over to his house during the installation and was very impressed by the speed, knowledge of the installer and the customer service both in person and on the phone. A few weeks later I had my own system installed and I feel more calm and most importantly safe in my home. I love how I can use the app to arm and disarm as well as see any activity, and that my brother has access through the app as well if needed. I will definitely be recommending this system to others!!

I used to have Vivint a long time ago then I quit and went to a different company. Then when they were going through the neighborhood, the salesman decided to stop. I was talking to him and I liked the plan so I changed over back to Vivint. He and the technician were very friendly, very useful and ready to help. They also programmed everything in my phone because I didn't know how to do this extra thing. They've been great and I feel like they both went out of their way for me. And whenever I had a question, I would call the salesman and he was very awesome.
I have the regular basic routine features plus a camera at the door at the entrance which I didn't have before and I have enjoyed that because now I can tell if somebody rings the doorbell. I look it up on my phone and see who's there at the door and I can answer. I'm in Victoria but I'm away from home every once in a while, especially on holidays, and if the doorbell rang and I'm in Houston, I can hear it. I love that feature! That's my favorite. I'm very satisfied with the service and I would keep it as long as I can.

I got Vivint because of the area that I live in and I've been satisfied with them. I don't want any other service. Competitors come in and try to win over my service but and I'm not interested because I'm content with Vivint. Everybody there is well-prepared, courteous, and informative. I have the Vivint Alarm system for my residence and it is superb. I have IP cameras, Alexa, video door bell service and I love it. My house is like a futuristic version of itself. The reps at Vivint were knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful. I was having problems with my alarm going off and they came out, fixed that and turned it off so it wouldn’t come on until someone could get out to repair the system. The only thing I am dissatisfied with was that I saw an ad in the paper that said I could get an upgraded system, and I called and was told that I was not eligible because I already had a system. I wanted some of the newer things that go along with the newer system which my system is not able to do and provide.

We’ve had Vivint for a long time and we’re very happy with it. Their sales rep was very informative and answered all my questions, while the installers showed us how to use the system. If the alarm goes off, they’re right there to make sure we’re okay and they're there when we need them. The system has two volumes, one for the doorbell volume and then another one letting us know that the alarm’s on. Everybody has to make sure the bottom one is all the way up because the last time, somehow it got turned down. We can’t communicate with Vivint if the alarm goes off so they ended up sending a cop out to make sure we were okay.

I have the home security with my Vivint because my house has been robbed. The reps provided me with the information and the ones who came to originally put the system in my house were fabulous. It's very reassuring to have them at my home. One night, I had been locked out of my house so I had to climb through my window and right away, they popped over. They were very efficient and quick in responding. They also double checked to make sure I was okay in that incident.

I had a local security company before but I wasn't satisfied with their service. I have Vivint solar panels and the company was security oriented. Vivint has a very good security product. It has an economical price and that's the reason I switched from my local provider to Vivint. The installers were punctual, efficient and good representatives of the company.
However, Vivint's service has been lacking, so far. It's been a task to get any service men to come. They've not been very responsive. I had a number of calls and the first year, they literally wouldn't make any calls. I had to work it out frustratingly over the phone though I was able to do it. But this August, I had a problem and there was a serviceman who came in. He's very good and informed me that they were adding staff to the repair crew so my frustration should be alleviated in the future. Then when I speak into the doorbell, it's very difficult for people to hear it because the volume is so low. And there's no way to turn that up because I asked that repairman if that was possible and he said there's no volume control for the camera. If there is something in the future, I'd certainly like to get that changed.

I just lost my husband and I'm now living by myself. I live in a nice area, but I was scared so I purchased Vivint security system. My interaction with their sales rep was absolutely great. He was really good and was very personable. He explained everything and he didn't try to push anything. Since I'm not computer savvy, he went through it a few times with me so I knew what I was doing. He made me feel at ease. Their installer was really good too. He also showed me how to do things, and it made me feel comfortable that I knew what I was doing. Overall, I love it and I'm really happy with it. It's an excellent product with excellent people that work for them. If I had another house, I'd put it into that house. Anybody that doesn't have it should get it. It makes me feel very comfortable, and everybody that needs one should get a peace of mind with this.

When I first started with them, they weren't Vivint yet. Their sales rep was easy to contact and friendly and the installation team was courteous and showed how to use the product. They explained the service when I got the product and explained when it was upgraded too. They came around the neighborhood to check on the service and how things are and everything has been fine. I'm very satisfied with their service and product and I've had good work relation with them. They are a professional group and take care of their customer. I have recommended them to many neighbors.

I haven't had my alarm system in for a month yet and I'm already beyond livid with these people! From the ones who place the orders and installs to the managers are EXTREMELY RUDE. They don't let you speak.They speak over you. They don't want to do their job correctly or at all! They bounce you around to incorrect departments just to get you off the line. They rush you. They have no customer service whatsoever! I spent over an hour on the phone with them trying to fix my problems that were done from day one and everything I was told the day I scheduled my installation was very INCORRECT. The last person who I spoke to was a so called MANAGER. He was rude, he was rushing me, also he didn't care about my feelings that the prior employees have caused.
At this point I'm livid and in tears. I'm so angry and he didn't care. All he was concerned about was to supposedly help me to hang up. All he kept saying was that he didn't care what happened with the prior reps that he wanted to move forward to help me! They are very UNPROFESSIONAL, very RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL!!! I have never felt this way from any company. This is the worst company and customer service ever!!! Here's my personal experience and I wanna share it so everyone knows what they're up against before getting their system!
I needed to update my account as I was told I could do because they were too damn lazy to get everything done correctly the day I placed my order and installation date. I kept getting bounced around to every department because either they didn't wanna help me and do their job or it was really the wrong department. Anyway after being told that everything I was told was incorrect and I couldn't do anything to change or fix it I was extremely upset. The ONLY thing I could do was change my due date and payment information (what a coincidence that my payment information was the ONLY thing they could change) like I told the "MANAGER". It's funny how all of you guys are rude and disrespectful and how your customer service sucks and can't fix ANYTHING but yet you can change my payment information!
So once all of that was changed I asked the guy in billing what my bill was gonna be for Dec. He said I didn't owe anything til January so here I'm asking why til then what about Dec. He goes on about why it's til January so then I ask how much will it be because I needed to pay my month of service plus the prorated for the few days difference. He said he didn't know the add so he couldn't tell me. I'm like "but you're in the billing department you should be able to tell me" but he was stuck on not telling me. He said "I can't" then that he could then back to "I can't". By this time I'm over it. I asked to speak to a manager in which he goes "she's been listening to this phone call and I don't know if she wants to speak to you" so I replied "even better then because she's been listening to you being rude".
So it was very convenient for him that all the managers/supervisors were in meetings so he transferred me to some random department that transferred me to the up most rude and disrespectful so called manager. He didn't care that by this point I was done and was in tears I was so livid and couldn't believe that this is how they treat their customers! To finish it up the guy from billing told me my bill was due til Jan and couldn't tell me how much. So when I talked to the "manager" he told me my bill was due in Dec not Jan and was able to tell me how much my bill will be. I was so upset because he didn't care and brushed me off but it is what it is I just hung up on him! So to summarize it this company's customer service from A-Z sucks.

Zero stars is my review- Alarm panel not responding: no notification from Vivint but I checked the app on my phone and it confirmed panel not responding (I had to go into app to discover this - no alert). I called customer service, spoke to 4 people including a supervisor only to be told the earliest they could get someone out is Wednesday!!! (Today is Monday.)
The fourth person I spoke with was a supervisor who said he would try to get someone out sooner than Wednesday but it was unlikely to happen. I am totally dissatisfied with this service - it's my alarm system (not monitored it seems) not a kitchen appliance that can wait for 48 hrs! Basically I am without an alarm system until then... no smoke detector, no carbon monoxide sensor, nor do I the ability to report an emergency from the panel! I was told Vivint rely on the customer to report problems with the panel?! Really? I thought I was paying for a monitored system. I have had issues with lackadaisical customer service in the past - but this is outrageous.

I bought from Vivint a service package that has sensors for front and back doors, and a smoke alarm. One time when we went out and came back, we couldn't turn the system off. It was programmed wrong. I was disgusted about it and we shut the system down. I managed to see the sales guy the next day and he came in and gave me a glass break sensor to take care of the problem. We located the motion sensor and reprogrammed it. Since then, there were no more problems. Everything was good and I'm very satisfied with the system.

We had my daughter and my wife and my granddaughter staying with us. My son-in-law and I worked swing shifts. There were some nights when we weren’t there, so we went to Vivint and get the thermostat, the pad, Vivint Sky, and the mobile app. I’m very pleased with everything with the service, with the exception of the amount of time it takes to correct an issue.
I had a problem with the front door, indicating the door is unlocked. I’ve tried changing the batteries. I’ve called Vivint three times and we’ve tried resetting the main panel. Nothing works. So it seems like the front door lock is going to have to be replaced. That was well over a month ago and they can’t get anybody out here for another month. I live in a really sketchy neighborhood. I would be going over two months without that security feature. And if that were the case, I would not be happy at all. But, every individual I’ve spoken with at Vivint is very well spoken, professional and good. The installers they sent were very good as well.

I had Vivint in my old house and the sales guy then was amazing. He explained all the details and features. I left my security system and now I have some tenants living there who were willing to take over that service. However, there were some really bad experiences when I was moving my services. I did everything that was required but Vivint messed up the billing. They kept billing me instead of the tenants for two months. I had to phone so many times to fix this thing and I was very disappointed which it shouldn't be at that time because I did everything. We finally got that rectified but it was a very frustrating process. Customer service has a lot to improve on when it comes to proper billing especially when it's not the customer's fault when they mess up the system. The people there were even rude at points of time.
But on the other side, the monitoring personnel who always phoned whenever the alarm goes off are really nice, polite, clear and technically well trained. The response from the client representative whenever the alarm goes is really prompt and I highly appreciated that. One thing that the technician in my new home missed was that they didn't give any stickers or yard signs. In my old house they gave me stickers for the windows and doors. They also gave me a yard sign and they gave me another sign for the garage. My neighbor who is just a few houses next to me that also has Vivint’s systems installed has yard signs but I don't.
Other than that, with the technical side of the Vivint system, I'm very happy and that's why I'm still their customer. So far everything works well and I’m satisfied. At one moment there was a fire alarm which didn't work and I phoned back again and a technician was sent to fix that. I like that I can have online monitoring and I can look at things from my cellphone. Not many companies are providing that service. It also has a camera which can be viewed online and it did not require hard wiring into the telephone system.

My husband and I were leaving the country for five months out of the year so we got Vivint. Their service has been great. They've come a couple of times to adjust some things and other than that, they've been good. The installation was very quick. Everything is good with Vivint and I feel secure.

My house was built from the ground up so I had a local person do the alarm system at first. They were at the house before it was built. Something happened with them so I opted out and I went with APX, the company before Vivint, and then later on I just switched over to Vivint. I have one fire alarm that's in my basement, an alarm system on the doors, and the windows on the first floor only where I can open them up to a certain extent without them going off if I want to leave them up at night for air. If they get moved and go past that magnet, they'll go off.
There's all crap going on in my area. It's bad here! I hear gunfire all the time right down the street, around the corner and sirens all night and all day long. And there were muggings and break-ins in the news. One time, my alarm door went off at 3:00 in the morning. It was strange because I was still asleep. I have a baseball bat beside my bed but I didn't grab it. I just got up and walked calmly to the garage and shut it, hoping I could get it before the Vivint guys called. Well, I didn't. They had already called my neighbor because they couldn't reach me and the police came out and checked.
After that, I came back and went to bed and thought that it could've been a real intruder coming in my house and I didn't even act scared. The system is nice to have it if we go on vacation, which we've done a few times. So hopefully, the time won't come where I can't afford it as I also get a discount on my homeowner's insurance with the system. Their sales rep was trying to get me to re-enter another two-year contract for updating my house with the new digital box that they came out with instead of through the landline. He said that if I updated and got the two-year, they will come in and redo everything for free. So, I did and he said that it'd be the same price. He also gave me a deal on the carbon monoxide which I already have. He came back and put it in for free and it was $150 at that time. I still have the paperwork and everything that he gave me on it. But I'm just trying to survive right now and they're not making it easy.

During our discussion over the phone, the Vivint rep told me that he would take care of canceling my existing security system. He had me write out a letter, sign it, and date it. However, that didn't happen. Moreover, the street number was correct but the street name was incorrect. So, they had me with an address that was just a block over. The rep told me that he'll also take care of it but he didn't do that either.
So I called in, talked with someone from Vivint, and had that taken care of myself. Because the sales rep didn't send the cancellation notice to the other provider, I got charged. When I contacted him, he said he will refund me for it but as of today, I haven't received any. I texted him a couple of weeks ago and told him the things he said he would do but didn't, and also mentioned to him that he provided poor customer service. He then came back, said sorry, and said that he had gone to the bank and processed the refund through a check. I should've have seen a check if he did. So that just tells me that he didn't do what he said he did. He again told me that he was going to correct it two weeks ago but I still haven't received anything.
He also didn't inform me that when I signed up for Vivint, my account was gonna be debited really soon. So it took me by surprise when I saw that debit on my account. Another thing is that I was supposed to get a sign that's to be poked in front of my yard because I signed up with him and that I will get it at the day of install which was the same day that he sold the product. When I called him about it, he said it was going to come in a welcome package. I got no such package, it might have gone to the other address. And then, the last bill I got was about also $70 because they charged me two shipping fees for the sign I ordered. They never told me that I will be charged for shipping. When I called in to customer service, the lady said she was gonna give me a credit towards my next billing.
But aside from that, the installer of the system was good. He went through how to use the product a couple of times. It took a couple of times to get used to the system and how it works but now, I'm okay with it. I have Vivint's front and back door deadbolt as well as the doorbell with the camera on our front door. I have a security door and a double glass. I like the feature that I can see somebody without opening my door since it's easier. Everybody that I talked to at Vivint are very professional and courteous. Everyone was helpful anytime that I call.

I had ADT before but I've been wanting to get a system like what Vivint offers so I tried them. Their salesman was a real nice guy. We had the doorbell and driveway camera on top of our basic package. We got two of our vehicles broken into in front of our house so it would be nice to have cameras to go back to just in case. I also got the Space Monkey with it and the normal panel, the touch screen. If I do have issues, they call right away or answer the phone and answer all my questions or take care of any issue I have. It’s definitely on the higher end. Their installer was fast, efficient and courteous. He had me participate in where I want the cameras to be and how I wanted them, and he had me set them up. I definitely like my service so far. Overall, they have friendly staff and they give that feeling that they care about what they're doing. They're very patient and they don't try to rush anything.

I had an episode where I was by myself with two little grandchildren and I felt like the medical alert of Vivint would really help me. We also wanted the security of our house. We had a son living with us and since the system was a new thing, he forgot we turned the alarm on and it set off. One time, I also accidentally set it off when I pushed a button. But Vivint took care of it and I know it works. The sales rep and installation team were great. This is the first time I've ever had dealings with any kind of alarm system and so far, everything's turned out okay and if anything came up, it seemed like everybody was knowledgeable. I would refer them to anybody.
