    The tech was excellent, the camera, equipment not. The camera is initiated by motion, so a night bug can turn it on, but a person walking into the yard is not detected by the camera. Not happy! There are other products out there for less and provide better security. The sales people in the store really did a number on us. Disappointed with Best Buy to allow such selling tactics.

    Someone from Vivint came to the house and made a presentation and I bought it. I like to have the camera so I picked it. When it didn't work, they replaced it. Other than that I got the basic stuff, and I also got the remote. The Vivint installation team was knowledgeable and courteous. They're a little bit pushy on the presentation but I looked past that. I can't set the camera because of my internet service but I'm working on that. I've also had a couple of issues with the front door. I had to change the battery. I do have a door lock on the front door. Recently, it just went off for no reason. We never figured out why on that. As far as know I everything's working all right. I use my phone to arm and disarm when we're away. I'm disarming it several times. I had not armed it here lately. They've all been good. I'm satisfied with it.

    A salesman from Vivint came at the door and we bought a simple security alarm system from him. He was very knowledgeable, open and friendly. They are easy to contact and the installation team was courteous. They showed us how to use the alarm and they were great. They're also professional and done a good job. My husband sometimes goes fishing and then I'm all by myself. With the new security system, I feel more comfortable now. I like that there's security if anybody breaks in, then the police get called or I get called or whichever.

    The installer was fast and professional and everyone that I had contact with concerning the security system was the same. I can't believe how much stress this is taken off of me. Now if my autistic grandchild gets out of the house I hear him and can get there before he's made the Mad Dash! I was very surprised last night when the power went out and the backup battery took over! I got a message saying don't worry you are still protected for a few hours. I felt so secure that we all just went to sleep without a worry!

    The overall concept of the devices is great, however they rarely function properly. Only had the system for less than a month now and we have had numerous issues. Mainly with the Vivint app. It will not control the thermostat like it was supposed to. Also the thermostat will adjust itself at times and will not allow you to change the temperature back. We called customer support and they said it's an issue with the software and we just have to wait for the update to come out. Also now the door lock will not lock or unlock using the keypad. It's an ok system. Just has a lot of technical issues that really don't make it as convenient as it's supposed to be.

    A Vivint sales rep came by my house and the offer was reasonable. The pricing was better than the other things that I looked at. I liked the accessibility and it's really easy to use. For the most part, I've had great interactions with the sales reps and the installation team was fantastic as well. My only issue has been in the follow-up with getting things fixed. I actually have two accounts with Vivint, a commercial and a residential account. From a residential standpoint, they're absolutely perfect. The only downside has been from a commercial standpoint. I found out when they first created the residential, they definitely had some bumps too. They've been working on the commercial side and it's been getting better.

    When I got the commercial product originally, they sold me all of it, the cameras, the doorbell... But they were unable to install those and my sensor in a commercial building. So the communication between corporate and the installation team was one of the issues. When the installation team came, I told them what was going on with my mini doors and mini windows. They told me it would be fine, but in actuality, it was difficult. What they did was refund me the money but then we came up with other solutions and I still have them. Plus, the customer service is phenomenal so they have always been through a lot more to take care of the problem and shipping the system up and down the property.

    This company does not allow cancellation of a contract for their home security systems, even if the security system is attached to a house that ends up in foreclosure. Really? You expect me to keep making payments on security service on a house I don't even own anymore? I tried to find someone to take over my contract (ads on Craigslist and asking co-workers), but at $70 a month and a no cancellation policy, other people were obviously smarter than me when it came to trusting this company.

    We needed a security and alarm system for when we weren't around or if we were home. Vivint gave us the best options for what we needed and that's why we picked their alarm service. The reps came to the house and they explained everything. Their installation was when it was said it was going to be. It took less time than I thought. The installers were very knowledgeable. They showed me how the system worked. I felt very comfortable with the whole thing. I would recommend Vivint for an alarm system. However, we wanted to get their solar panel service but they didn't get back to us on that. We were disappointed by that.

    When I renewed with Vivint, a person had offered to provide a security system for me at a very low price. And when a gentleman came out to install that, there was a little miscommunication that he wasn’t aware of and he was gonna replace my keypad. I told the installer that was what we had agreed on and he told me he’d go back and talk to Vivint but the people at the field never got back to me on that. The people at their office are easy to get a hold of though.

    I have caught my salesman in 2 lies, first about being able to cancel within a week and 2nd by saying separate internet connection is not needed.     The installation took over six hours. The young man was very pleasant but it took way too long. Especially because we were told upon purchase it would be "very quick and easy". It knocked out our A/C which they did fix after a couple hours. That evening the system lost communication. Alarm not working. Next day I was told to delete the Firewall (?) someone has to come back to replace. The phone app has not worked at all. I am told, "It's been out all week". Really?? Is the system that unreliable? Also told, "After September, service will take more than a week since it is only one person in College Station." We will very likely ask to cancel if this type of poor service continues. Not a good start to this project.

    We just began Service with Vivint 2 weeks ago and our doorbell camera isn't working properly in the evening when I feel it is needed the most. I have called 4 times now. They are finally going to send a technician out but I have to wait an additional week for that to occur. When we agreed to have it installed you had a technician at our house within 30 minutes. I am extremely disappointed and don't believe I should have to pay for this month's service since it isn't actually working.

    I got Vivint's security, cameras and automatic door locks. I have lovely neighbors and there's a meth house behind me. I've had a very good experience with Vivint but on the other hand, they don’t come up here that often even though I see a lot of Vivint signs around the community so, it's very difficult when I need a service call. There's an instance when we were having problems with our panel and we waited several weeks for somebody to come which isn't a great customer service. They charged me $35 for a service call I have to wait for three weeks. It was their equipment that was faulty and I'm paying for them to come out. Dish Network did not charge me for a service call fee when they came out to fix an issue.

    But the last guy that was out was great - he fixed the problem. He even patched a little bit of the plaster because it created some damage from where they moved the equipment from. Also, there's a time when the technician came out in the middle of the snowstorm. They make every attempt to be on time but getting on their schedule is the issue. I've recommended Vivint to a friend.

    An agent called us and asked for an appointment, and then a few years ago, they called us and offered all the speakers and everything for when somebody opens your door. We didn't have that before, so I told my husband I felt we needed to change. I liked that better because of the service they offered. I liked the loud speakers and the signals that we'd get from the device that gets gas smell in our house. Then when it started beeping as it was old, they replaced it. They called and said they were coming, and they did it one time. The man who came over was very nice, too. Anytime Vivint has had to call me, it's been some reason that I did because I haven't had any other problems. I appreciate that Vivint was very kind about it and that they were patient with me. I am very satisfied, and I would recommend Vivint.

    The Vivint sales reps did alright but I would've liked to know more about what happens during alarms and if there is a break-in because it seemed like there isn’t much of anything done except the alarm goes off and they call here to see what’s going on and I don’t know if the police is even notified. I've got a motion sensor at my house that when they first put it in had a red light on it. I complained about it continuously and I don’t know if it works or not because the little light is gone whenever it’s activated. They’ve been to the house multiple times and had put batteries in it, which is nice, although it cost me another two years of contract just to have them put these freaking batteries in.

    Some of my neighbors in the neighborhood I had moved into were already using Vivint and they were telling me they're cheaper and how they don't have any issues with them so I switched from ADT to Vivint. I'm on military lease. My mother had more interaction with the sales reps than I had so I only had one thing that I didn't really like because the storm came through and blew my front door open so they had to contact her but everything turned out great.     I've been with Vivint since 2012. When I call for service, they come promptly and the technical support is good. They are also friendly. However, in the past few months, I've been aggravated and I'm thinking of terminating the contract with them based on a promise they made and didn't follow through with. It's hard to get anything in compliance about it. I asked to cancel the camera service a few months ago and have been told by the rep that they would lower my monthly fee from $50 to $40 and nothing has been changed at all. Every time I call they are not available or they put me on hold and then it's disconnected. It's bad and not right.

    We had ADT before and we weren't satisfied. And so, we changed to Vivint. I haven’t had any problems with them. We seldom set the security system because there's always someone here 24/7 but we're satisfied with their service.     The sales guy and installers were good. The only issue I've run into is I've been trying to get a hold of them lately and I just can't. I am in the process of moving and I'm trying to find out if how much or how long I'm still under contract for or if I can take it with me. I usually contact the customer service in the evening and I'm on hold for 20 or 25 minutes and that's when I hang up. I could do it in the daytime and it probably works better but I work. But Vivint's service is good so far and I like it.

    The installer do not do what they say. They will leave your home unprotected and the company customers service department are rude and only care about selling the product. Not helping with any issues. On top of all that the mobile app don't work that good. Keep forcing a close. Hard to see playback in widescreen.

    I have several Vivint units. The alarm was the first thing and the last items I added were the two cameras that are out in the back in a shed that I have rabbits in. They’re aimed at the doors. One is a walk-through door, one is an overhead door. I also have a panel here that sets the alarm every night when I go to bed. Plus, all of the lower windows in my house are on magnetic alarms. So, if somebody opens one of my windows, it’ll set it off. Sometimes the alarm’s set and I get up, open the door and set the alarm off. They’d call every time and ask me if everything’s okay. It’s just silly me but I think I’ve earned the right because I’m 76 years old. Then they say, “As long as everything’s good, we’re okay. We’ll just put it down as a false alarm.”

    Then I also started doing the Smart system but they wanted me to hire an electrician and I didn’t feel good about that. They should have their own people doing that. That way, if there’s any problems I know who to go to, not have a third party between me and them to resolve the problem. That way they have control over it. I expressed my thoughts about it but I never did go after it and find out what they had done, if anything. Also, I have a cell phone but it’s not one of the smart phones. So that would be up to me to upgrade it. Then one time I called them and asked them about getting started again and they were out of supplies. They’d had their business surge so much that they didn’t keep up with their demand.

    At one time I was thinking of putting solar panels up on the house. Vivint approached me about it and I had somebody come out and look at the roof. Then they set up a plan on what to have, how to have it and how many they needed. After that, I never heard from him for several months. Then I called him and asked, “What’s going on?” They said I did not qualify. And I said, “What the hell did you come down here and do all of the measurements for? Then you just didn’t contact me or say anything? All of a sudden I didn’t qualify?” There were so many questions that were unanswered in that process that I finally called and told them that I didn’t want to go any further with it. Not waste their time, not waste my time. But then they looked it up, came over and talked to me.

    Now I’ve been with them for six years and I’m still paying them $36 a month. That’s quite a few payments. Do I continue paying them for the rest of my life? The explanation they gave me was the equipment has to be paid for. I understand that but when does it stop? I have them on auto-pay and a month ago, I changed banks so I’m expecting a phone call or letter from them anytime to collect their $36. However, everything that they’ve done and I’ve had to have done, I have no problems with. They’ve been very rightful with me except with that deal with the solar panels.

    The issues aren't with the product so much as trying to get everything working at once. I've had the system in place for two weeks and still don't have a keypad that works. The tech that came to fix it last week didn't bring the equipment needed to do so. He said someone would be back the next day to fix it. No one came. I wasn't contacted and I waited all day. I had to call and set up another appointment. What I do have working I very much like and I really like the customer service when I call in. They are always extremely helpful. I can't rate this accurately until everything is working but I'm tentatively happy.

    We started with Vivint in 2009 and our security packaged includes the breaking of glass and smoke alarms. Vivint is an excellent company and every interaction I've had with them has been very good. They’re very knowledgeable and helpful in terms of working with problems. When there was a malfunctioning piece of equipment a year ago, they stuck with me in getting the equipment changed. Even though it was a long difficult process, I liked the aspect of that kind of care.

    I also had a difficult problem with the previous company’s equipment that wouldn't turn off no matter what happened. They sounded like sirens for the alarm. Vivint didn’t know exactly how to help over the phone and made suggestions. I would try those, and it was back and forth. Each time something was done, it would seem to have solved the problem, but it would start up again. I would call back in again, and I'd get a different operator. Each one picked up where the one before left off and said, “Okay. Let's try another approach.” They didn’t make me repeat everything, which was good. They tried to explain what they were doing although technology is not my thing.

    The problem went through two or three days before Kathy, an operator, found a way to turn it off. She figured out that I should pull out the batteries in the panel and start over. She was able to work down to where the problem was and when the equipment came, what needed to be done to install it. It took a long time to get that taken care of but all of the people who helped were excellent, very professional and did their best. For quite a while when we’re having bad weather and there were weather alarms, I would also get an alarm with the security system. I appreciated that but it doesn’t seem to do that anymore.

    They replaced the motion sensors since the old one that was on the wall wouldn't work with the new Vivint equipment. We had to change a lot of things around. Initially, what came was the wrong motion sensors and they had to get it out again. Also, something was shipped to me and it was broken when it got here. One of my neighbors was trying to help too because I don’t know very much about all that stuff. Vivint gave me a reduction in price with the equipment that finally arrived. I got a letter saying to keep it for future reference and it was about monthly payments, an update on that and how to check up on things.

    Vivint is a little more expensive than some of the other companies and it gets difficult the older we get because of our lowered income. Other than that, I don’t think that I could find an organization that seems to be so much on top of stuff and checking out things. Also, this doesn’t happen very often, but if the alarm goes off because of some mistake in the house or opening a door and not remembering the system was on, I know that within about two seconds, the phone will ring and Vivint is right there. It's about as fast as you could possibly get. That’s very, very reassuring and I really, really appreciate it.

    A sales rep came through our neighborhood. I was very interested in the system. Agreed to purchase what he described as a 2-year term contract. We are moving, unable to take the service with us. I called to cancel, but they informed me that I really purchased a 5-year contract. The sales rep mislead me to earn his commission and now it will cost $3000 to get out of the contract. I would NEVER have purchased a contract knowing it was 5 years given the fact that we are renting. Crew came in that night to install the units. The installers never installed the thermostat unit correctly and eventually had to remove it from the wall and use the old system. Also, the keypad door lock is a great idea, until the battery drops below 40% charge. You can't unlock the door through the app, they can't unlock the door through their system. I'm not at all pleased am looking into pursuing other options to get out of my contract.

    Disappointed that Best Buy allowed this company to push their product. Jeep was broke into right in front of camera that doesn't work between 12-5a.m. Same results after tech serviced. You pay $50 mos to watch live view and occasional clips of your things. It's luck of the draw whether you capture a theft. BTW, was told I only had to pay 3 mos and could have the service for life. That's only if you don't have any problems, I found out. If you need help, that's $190 hr.

    Available 24/7, nope- not true. They are VERY hard to reach. They are not all very friendly either. I did get 1 or 2 reps that were helpful. Don't EVER lose or forget your password either because all they can tell you is that "It's a word". Without this password, they will not help you... period. Vivint records clips, but your clips don't always catch the motion that activates the video record, then you have a lot of clips of nothing interesting. The frustrating part is to have gaps in clips, when you know there were cars or animals going by the camera, even after having it serviced. Not very reassuring. How can you have great footage all day long, but drop the ball at the prime theft time? *See video time gap pic.

    I'm very happy with Vivint especially if I have an issue. When I call up the 800 number, they're always good. Vivint is not cheap compared to comparable alarm systems. If you want a burglar and a fire alarm, you typically don’t pay $70 a month for it. It's usually much less. The one that I have in Philadelphia is 25 but it also doesn’t have a cell signal and it doesn’t control the thermostat. There are things that come automatically that you might not elect to do. I need that cell features for some concerns and you have to pay for that cell service. They may have another product that doesn’t have cell service but that was the one I bought.

    In my second home which is in South Carolina, I don’t want to use something that’s totally dependent on phone lines or internet. Recently, I had them relocate the smoke detector there. It gets hot down there in the summer and the upstairs smoke detector was right next to the staircase to the attic. Whenever you open the attic, this rush of hot air would come out and it would automatically send out a fire signal or a heat signal. We had to move that and the technician said, “Yeah. This really shouldn’t have been put here.” I've been putting up with this for a long time and then the smoke detector on the first floor kept going off like it needs a battery. It was exactly what it needed but you couldn’t replace the battery because it was old enough where you had to replace the whole unit. They have a shelf life or the technology has changed and I had to replace the unit. That was on me. They took care of the unit but I had to make a service call.

    Usually, if I call, they take $10 off the bill. It’s a good service and the support is terrific. The technicians that come are always good. I learn a little bit each time like I did not realize there were actually batteries in the door for the sensors. I need batteries and I kept replacing batteries in the monitor. That’s not where they were needed but that’s okay. That’s a little bit of my education not theirs.

    One of the Vivint reps came to our door and we got everything from him - four cameras, counting one at the door, all the wireless sensors for the doors and the garage, then the existing wired contacts we used to integrate into the system. It’s got a Carbon Monoxide Detector and smoke detectors. It also has a Smart Panel where I can control the system with my phone and it has a Smart Thermostat as well. I was in the security industry for many years and, to me, those things are important. It isn’t just about security, it’s also about being safe.

    But when they came in and installed it, there were some things missing. We didn’t have a copy of the contract and the one they had didn't have my signature on it. Then, they wanted to increase the amount. We wound up getting a hold of the rep and they confirmed it. And so, they went ahead and honored what we had originally agreed on.

    In terms of security, the installation team had been very good. Before we had four cameras that would pan and tilt. These are fixed, and they have night vision. The doorbell camera was also added. In terms of internet, the installer was okay as well. We’ve had more issues with the internet service than we have with the security system. Especially at first, we’d just lose signal. The hub is right behind my house and it's pointing past it. The tech said it was pointing in the opposite direction and he had corrected it. It’s still pointing a little bit past it but it works. All in all, service is pretty good. We also ran into a financial bind at one time. We called customer support and they were nice enough to put the collection on hold. They left the operation of the system and the internet working and made some adjustments to the bill as well. That was pretty cool.

    Sales guy (Felix) and tech (Andras) were absolutely great. We did have to have Andras come back three times after installation because the panel needed to be in a better spot, the doorbell, and the thermostat. Now, I don't know if it's coincidence or not but my (literally) brand new a/c unit started freezing the day after installation. I don't believe that the thermostat installed by Vivint works correctly - even after he came back to check it. The app doesn't match the temp on the panel ever. So now I've had to call an HVAC tech out. The panel itself goes offline more times than I would have expected for a brand new piece of equipment.

    This offline stage does not make me feel safe whatsoever. We have only actually set the alarm once or twice because we aren't confident that it will actually work or that if going offline will cause a false alarm that we could potentially be charge for. I'd like to recommend Vivint to my friends and neighbors but I'd be lying due to the lack of confidence in the equipment. Now we are stuck for the next 5 years. I'm a block captain of 2 blocks in my neighborhood and also on the board of our neighborhood association. I could have reached thousands of neighbors but instead, I will remain quiet about Vivint and continue to feel unsafe. I felt better just having my dogs be our alarm.

    We had Vivint and when we bought another house, we just transferred the Vivint stuff over here. That was three years ago, reps came to the door and we upgraded a little bit. My wife decided on the features. We have the windows, doors, motion sensor and a sound sensor for when the window is broken. The services has been good. We just had one little problem with the heat. One of the sensors fell off our sliding glass door because it got a little warm. When we had a couple things fell off like that and won’t work, the installer came back out and fixed it. One of the things they installed initially was a motion sensor which kept on going off and I couldn’t figure out why. Then they explained to me that it was the cats because they would jump off on the table. They shut the motion sensor down from their own office and we’ve been as happy as could be ever since. I have the app on my smartphone and it's a wonderful thing. If the alarm goes off, we can see what happened. The installers were also very professional and prompt. I've called Vivint for a couple of technical support problems like changing batteries in some of the sensors, and I've had the police and fire department come. I was changing the CO2 battery because I got a beep, and I didn't know I was supposed to call Vivint first. I just unplugged the unit, and they were trying to call me but my cellphone was upstairs.     I switched to the Vivint system in May from a very well known provider that I had been a customer with for the last 8 years. It wasn't until I switched that my former provider offered me comparable equipment and additional services that were provided upfront with Vivint. Needless to say, I still switched providers and went with the company that offered the upgrades instead of waiting for me to call and ask. All of the people that we worked with from the service representative that convinced us to change to the installation team were very professional and courteous. The equipment provides us exactly what we were hoping for with the enhanced features. So far my family and I have been satisfied with the products, services and app access that Vivint offers.

    PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Nothing but lies. I was told my system would be removed and transferred to my new house and ALL holes repaired. What I got was an incomplete, uninstall job. Holes left everywhere! Wires hanging out my door bell. I was LIED to. When I call back I am told, "We don't do repairs." Well the so called customer service representative said and I quote, "All technicians carry plaster to fix holes and will even paint it, you have it ready..."

    Well that was a complete lie. Now I am 24 hours away from closing and ANOTHER so called technician shows up. First, he doesn't even know why he is there. Second he was supposed to have a move kit. Please stay away. I am locked into a 5 year contract. All I can do is hope that no one EVER falls for this company's lies. And I post messages on their facebook and they delete them and block me. They are always deleting all the hundreds of negative comments but leave the two positive ones.

Their equipment failed which caused the system not to record. I requested my service be cancelled and even offered to send all equipment back including the cameras they made me pay for. The customer service came back on the phone and said they suggest I sign up for a 48 month contract and get 2 months free... excuse me? Did you not hear what I said? ...LOL. I cancelled my card because I refuse to pay for a service that does not work. If you are thinking about Vivint... think again. They have the worst service I have ever experienced.

    I've been with Vivint for four years and they've given me a lot of equipment. When I signed with them, they gave me a camera, wireless locks, a thermostat that I could control and the panel. They also gave me sensors for the back door, front door and a few windows. When I renewed my contract about a year and a half ago, they gave me all the window sensors, two more cameras, another door lock for the garage and its garage door opener. They also lowered my payment.

    The last time, they upgraded me to a wireless thermostat which is something that I can control easily. It controls the temperature and it helps save energy. And then the installation team was nice and they knew what they were doing. They've been courteous and they've done what they needed to do. I had an issue with the garage door which was not compatible with the system but it had nothing to do with the people that have come. They've been good every time I call and I would recommend them. Overall, I’m happy with Vivint and I would keep the service with them.

    And why in the world would Vivint give their customers a router that has a pre-programmed wireless security and won't let a customer change it to further secure their wireless network? We just had our home security system installed. They added another router Linksys E1200 set as AP (access point) to our network. Main router <--> Linksys E1200 (with vivint modified software) -- Vivint Smart Drive

    All household with Linksys router that came with their Vivint Security system all have the same wireless security format. People who are aware or knowledgeable can easily use this to access anyone's wireless network! What will happen to your customers who doesn't have any idea that all their devices are visible or accessible thinking that their network (main Router) was secure up until you added a low to almost unsecured wireless device? What will happen to elderly People who doesn't have any idea about all these? Will you be responsible if there is breach and information are accessed, accounts hacked, etc. because of the router (Linksys router with Vivint modified software) that you added to their network?

    We called several times to inform you about this, we even offered to configure the device on our own if you will give us an access to our router. We understand that it was designed to be dummy proof/reset proof, that's why we asked if you could send a tech. We are not the only customer in our subdivision, you have a lot!! Don't just secure our homes and left us vulnerable in other aspect! Make it right to your paying customers! if you don't want any problems like this after installation then send some tech who can configure the router with your installation team to set up the wireless network with your customer in securing the additional wireless router that you will add to their own existing network.

    Don't just secure the House, be responsible on the potential threat on the devices that you added on one's home, be mindful of the potential cyber threat because of your BEGINNER'S WIRELESS SECURITY SETTINGS. We're now in 2017. THERE ARE A LOT OF SMART COMPUTER ASSES OUT THERE!! I have no questions with the other equipment, securing my house was superb. But please look at all the possible threat that comes with what you installed.

    Vivint came door-to-door when we moved into our house, which was in a brand new area. We got the security system and a thermometer. I was around when the installation team was putting the system in four years ago and they were great. They explained everything and did what they were supposed to do. There have been a few times where it’s taken us about half an hour to explain a situation and they have been rather slow or they didn’t understand or else they didn’t know what we were talking about. It could have been somebody who was very novice on the phone. It all usually gets straightened out one way or the other. Most of the time it’s the thermostat, more than anything else, that we have problems with, but the guy came out one day and finally fixed it. I would definitely pass them on to the people I know if they were interested in getting a security system.

    I have been with Vivint for five years. After my three year agreement was up, my wife renewed to get a $20 discount per month. Well, now I want to upgrade my system. Not possible unless I pay over $1000. Why I couldn't get an upgraded system and go back to the $78 a month I was paying before, I don't know. So, I asked to cancel. I can't do that without paying for the remainder of my agreement, which is over $1000 as well. My neighbor got Vivint a few months ago, and got three cameras, a doorbell and more and pays about $100 a month. Why can't I just do that???? My three year term was up, and now I should be paying month to month, but they locked me into another agreement just to get a $20 per month discount.

    This is NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. My wife is a realtor and recommends Vivint to all her clients. No longer will that happen. After my term is up, I will immediately cancel Vivint. How can you treat a long term customer like this, when all I want to do is upgrade my system???? HORRIBLE... PATHETIC... And to NOT LET ME OUT OF MY CONTRACT BECAUSE OF A $20 DISCOUNT IS HORRIBLE AS WELL. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

    OK where to start. We have the system put in no problems. We need to change out two components not needed on the original work order. Multiple phone calls, transferred three times and on hold 20 minutes each time. When I get someone who can do something, I ask if I can have a back door lock at no charge in place of the two other items. They said there's a one time charge of $35. I said "that's OK, just credit me for the two items not needed." They say "not a problem. Vivint will credit you those two items and you can have the back door lock for free."

    Next I get an email for an adjusted amount of $15 a month, I'm guessing for the back door lock. I call customer service and I said "I'm not interested in paying the $15 extra a month. That's not what we agreed to." They did offer me a six month credit. I said that still has me paying $15 extra a month for 4 1/2 years. I am not doing it. For a $175 dollar lock that comes to $810.00 over the term of the contract (Just an FYI they use the same logic with the door bell camera. You can buy one for 200 dollars anywhere).

    Next I get an email about signing this new contract, I respond back to the fella and I say I'm not doing it. I keep getting emails reminding me to sign. I call customer service and I let them know I've only been a customer for a week and we can't get this worked out. I can't see it going well being a customer for five years. I said "cancel the system. it's too much of a hassle." I still don't know if they are adjusting my Visa. Oh well that's another fight for another day. For what they offer the alarm system is great. My experience is it takes 3 transfers to find someone, they may not do what they say. They follow a canned script. It's evident when you phone in multiple times. They do listen to you but they do not deviate from the script. Lack of service.

    I had ADT then and I was happy with their service. However, the gentleman from Vivint offered to upgrade my equipment and system for no fee so we took it. I was very happy with the way their sales rep presented himself and with their technicians who came by to install and make modifications to my system. Also, I’m very happy with the charges. It is less than $40 a month. And if we have a false alarm, they talk to me through the box which ADT couldn’t do. Also right now I do paper billing but I wonder if they would do paperless billing through the email. So far, everything’s positive and it has been a very good experience.

    I'm in a very low-crime area, but being by myself it would be more comfortable to know that the house was secure at night. I'm in a brand new subdivision and a Vivint salesman came knocking door to door and I got their little panel by the door, motion detector and sensors at the doors and windows. The installation team ended up having them moved from where it was originally put in because I didn't like it. It was out of the way and difficult to get to, although I had only been in the house about two weeks so I don't know where I really wanted it to. I wish we had discussed it more, giving them a little break.

    The salesman returned once just to make sure everything was still working. However, there is a couple of things that I think are a little rinky dink about the system. The magnetic or the little thing that they drilled into my door and put the little peg on which have the little piece on the other side of the doorframe on my front door has fallen out twice. If it's that easy to come out, I wondered how secure the system is. I'm not sure also if the house is secure if the electricity goes out. Other than those, it's been excellent so far. I'm very satisfied but not 100%.

    I subscribed with Vivint when they came to my door in 2010. I have the monitors, the motion sensors, smoke detectors, CO2 detectors, the glass breakage and I receive emails when the key fobs are engaged or not. I’m not real happy with them right now because when I phone them, the man comes on and gives his greeting and repeats it in Spanish, which is fine with me but then he asks how he can help me then goes through a long list of options. I have to wait for the whole list to be read off because I can’t interrupt and that’s very unlike a lot of answering machines. There are big pauses and sometimes you can’t even get through.

    One night, I was on hold for 20 minutes so I was very frustrated. On Wednesday last week, I had one motion detector that was giving me problems. It was beeping and wasn’t recording. I tried to replace the battery and that didn’t work. I called it in and they said they couldn’t figure it out so they said they'll bring me a new one instead and it arrived in two days by FedEx which was awesome. On Sunday, I opened the package to install the new motion detector but there were no directions with the whole thing. I called Vivint and 45 minutes later, a lady finally answered but she kept saying that they have so many products and she's not sure how to help me. She was reading all this stuff and she finally said to mount the device on the wall. However, there were no directions as to how to do that and it doesn't go back to the mounting I have. At that point, I told her to just send a service man.

    I was gone all day on Monday and when I came home, there was no message from Vivint that they’re trying to book an appointment with me. So, I called in and they said there had been no work order requested. That person I talked to was extremely helpful and said, “We can get you an appointment tomorrow. Which one would you like?” Yesterday, someone came and everything was installed. I don't get the same service I was having before wherein I could just phone in and it was a much faster and prompt system. Now, if I had an emergency, it takes too long to get through. The service has gone down and I hope it doesn’t go any further. It’s not as good as it used to be and I’m not quite ready to leave them yet, but I'm getting close.

    I had another company before and Vivint happened to be in the neighborhood so I switched. They were doing a deal through the neighborhood and frankly, everybody on my block has them. I liked the sales rep's presentation of it when he first started because he would stop on top of things for me. I got one key, the keypad and the little things that go on the wall on the back door, front door and then the hallway.

    I’m okay with it but I'm not totally super satisfied. I’m having too many issues with it and when you call them with whatever goes wrong with the system, they want to walk you through it instead of having a service tech to come out and fix it. It’s not helping because we need service people to come out. A lot of people can’t walk through the steps and it’s too complicated for some people. Whoever put the monitor on the back door, they didn’t put the stick on right and that’s why my alarm kept going off saying, “Back door. Back door.” They sent me another one, my son was here for them to walk him through the back door and he put it up right. They could come out and fix it, but they would want to charge you for it. I didn’t know that they charge you for them to come out to fix anything. I don’t like that and I don’t think that’s right. We pay for the system.

    Also, I locked myself out and I couldn’t even get in because the battery was out. I had to mess with it and finally, it got tired of me pushing the code. Then, I used my key from my bottom lock and it finally let me in. But if I hadn’t kept messing with it, even when the batteries go out, I can’t get in because we don’t have a key to where you push the keypad but we don’t have a key to that. But I can live with it for now and the installation was good until that back door kept going off.

    I’ve been with Vivint for a few years now and it's been fine. The equipment was free at the time that it was installed. It was down to monthly fees only. So, money-wise, the deal was pretty good when it was offered. The Vivint team is really good. One is a local guy and he does a yearly check with me, too. He’ll come knocking and check the batteries and the fire alarm. However, sometimes they’re a little quick, but it’s emergency situations. If I’m not close to my phone, I'm afraid I don’t always intercept the emergency call.

    I was doing a lot of cooking and the house was closed up and probably cold to begin with. It set off the fire alarm and I missed the phone call. So, I was on the line calling back and they dispatched emergency services here in the area. That was kind of a little crisscross there that could have been avoided. We have fire volunteers, so I hate to dispatch those guys if it’s not necessary. Another good offer was that they gave me the same rate when my contract was up.

    Vivint did absolutely one of the worst installments of a home security system that I've ever seen. They left wires exposed to an outside camera. They drilled through an outside wall into the inside of the hose and ran the wire down the wall instead of running it through the inside of the wall. They damaged my hardwood floors. Didn't wear booties like their competitors do. I had them remove the system and they did more damage!! They've refused to come fix it and will not speak with me on the phone. These people do not need to be in business!!!

    I enjoy my security system. However, I wish the recordings were longer. And I've noticed that it doesn't always record when someone comes into view of it. I walked by and other and I had no recordings for that day. Other than it recording when it wants to everything else is perfect and so very handy.

    Technical issue... I have an unobstructed view from the doorbell to the street so the camera picks up every single car passing by...about 200 everyday. Hard to sift out non-events from an actual event. Also had two occasions where someone rang the doorbell and I was remote and my phone acknowledged the doorbell but couldn't get me a clear visual till too late.

    Some of the worst customer service I've ever received. I had a "takeover" scheduled to get out of my contract. The person called that was taking over my contract and Vivint ran all of her information and said that she qualified to take over my contract. I was then instructed to give her my panel, my two indoor cameras and my doorbell camera that a technician was going out to her home to set it up and I would be out of my contract. I called the Vivint to make sure that she was FOR SURE taking over my contract before I gave her any equipment and they said yes, that she qualified, she was taking over the contract and for me to give her the equipment.

    A few weeks later I received an email stating that I was out of my contract. Then I got another bill. When I called to find out what that was about and I told him about the email the only response I got was that person was not authorized to send me that email. Turns out she did not end up following through with the takeover so I called the Vivint and they said do not worry about the equipment that if I found somebody to take over the contract or decided to have it installed that I would not be charged anything extra.

    I called to have it installed and now they're trying to charge me $299 for a panel. Or extend my 36 month contract to a 60 month contract and only pay $99 for the panel. I refuse to pay another dime to company who has that horrible customer service. It's hard to believe that a multimillion dollar company cannot front a $299 panel to a customer that is paying $70 a month for 60 months. I spoke with Daisy who was the head of the takeover department customer ID number ** and she couldn't help me either. When asked to speak to her supervisor she would not let me speak to anybody else. She said that she was the head person in charge for the takeover department. I would not recommend Vivint to anybody. If you're reading this for reviews take it from me. I've had nothing but problems with them. Don't do it!

    I've been having a real good experience with Vivint. I am satisfied with them. But I am really embarrassed also because a lot of times I have set the alarm and they send me the police and it's not really necessary. They've been really good about sending me a text to confirm that my alarm went off and there's no problem, and that I can contact them. If I call them, they answer my questions. And also the technician I had was good. I am comfortable having Vivint as my security provider.

    I was referred to Vivint two and a half years ago. We have the security service and it’s pretty good. It's what we expected and the guy who came out was nice and quick. We haven't had many problems with it except for the door sensor that sometimes tell us that our back door was left open when the door has just been opened and shut.     We contracted Vivint under the impression from the agent that It was a one year contract. Well, in the contract they put 60 months contract. We are trying to cancel the service and they are trying to make up pay for the remaining 52 months or to transfer the service to someone else at no cost. Nowhere in the contract, not even under termination/suspension clause states that penalty clause. Contrary, it stated that either party can terminate at any time. I called Vivint and two of their customer service "managers" disregarded me and were bluntly rude. One of them (Vincent) even cutting the conversation short when he was out of answers/excuses. Don't get trapped with this company!

    I had Vivint installed sometime last year. I love my system. I was referred to Vivint by a coworker. I love the features and the price however I recently started asking questions about things that occurred during installation. During installation, the installer did not remove my alarm panel but installed the skycontrol panel right next to it. He told me that I would have to get someone to remove the old panel. I agreed not knowing that it was his job to do that. Next, I noticed that my list of devices included a key fob. I didn't know what that was until today when I chatted with Vivint customer service. Apparently there is a key fob connected to my system but the installer NEVER GAVE US ONE.

    I am very disappointed. I spoke to my coworker who referred me to Vivint and she told me that (1) her installer removed her old keypad and installed the Skycontrol panel in its place and (2) her installer gave her the key fob. Two totally different experiences. Vivint scheduled an installer to come out to my house tomorrow however I am still very disturbed. My initial installer made a hole in my wall that he did not have to do plus he possibly compromised my family's safety with that missing key fob. I can’t imagine what he could have done with it!

    We signed up for Vivint security system last year after a sales rep came cold calling to our door offering the service and free equipment if we signed a contract and put a Vivint sign in our yard. From the sales person explanation to us, the contract guaranteed the equipment would be ours if we chose to move, which at the time we told him that us moving might be a possibility. Fast forward to this month (May 2017) and due to job and life circumstances, needed to move to AZ into a rental. I found the cancellation criteria online requiring me to send an email with a signature (no way to do it online) to request a cancellation.

    We then received a notice to call customer service. I called and explained we were moving, and would no longer need nor could we use or afford the system in the rental. They refused stating we signed a 5-year contract and we had to either pay out the remaining months (over $4000) or find someone to take over the contract. The customer service rep told us that the sales rep should have explained the contract (which he didn't) and our circumstances were not their problem and there was nothing they could do. So I am now stuck with equipment I can't use and service I don't want and a bill I can no longer afford. Not sure how this company is in business still with its shady sales tactics and horrendous customer service. Vivint is utterly horrible.

    I have security from Vivint. They emailed when I first got it but they didn’t really do what they said they were going to do. It took them almost two weeks to get a guy to come over and install the service. And then the day that somebody was supposed to come, they never showed up. I waited two weeks and all of a sudden they can pull somebody when I told them I didn’t want it anymore. But I still let them put the service on. The installer was friendly but he didn’t clean up after himself. The second guy was good, the one who came out a couple of months back when my panel stopped working. Now that they’re keeping up with everything, it’s been good.

    Salesman came to my home and gave a convincing sales pitch that I found to be acceptable. Paid $1,300.00 upfront for install. Installer shows up and begins installing monitor and door lock and door bell and door sensors. All the while telling me how I would be getting a survey about his impeccable service. He disclosed that he expected "10's" from me on the survey. The wood shavings are still in the floor at the back door where he drilled into the door and the door jam. The boxes and paper and basic trash is still lying in the floor where he installed monitor. Oh, he did tell me he wanted ME to get a vacuum to vacuum the wood shavings at the front door! I expected that there would be a small amount of professionalism, but I was sadly mistaken.

    I have had Vivint for five years now. The system is good and I'm satisfied and happy with it. But the new system is very slow. It doesn't take your digits as fast as it used to do. The old system was good to work with because as soon as you press it, it would take your digits. Also, I have heard from people who use ADT and they are more satisfied with it than I am with Vivint.

    Our service package with Vivint includes all the features including the window breakage except we don't have the automation and the camera. Their sales rep showed up on time and was very polite, courteous and explained everything in detail. Then the installation guy was very professional.     I've been with Vivint for two and a half years. We have door locks, monitoring, window security, the smart panel, and then the light switch thing that come on and off, but we have not upgraded. The installer was great, nice and pretty quick. We had a smoke when we left some stuff on the stove and it auto-dialed, and the Fire Department was here super quick, even though I was just next door. It was a couple of minutes when the fire was and they called. We got our code and reset the panel but it was so smoky it kept going off again. My neighbor told us that tech support could help us with that, but we did figure it out and got the smoke out and then it stopped going off. With Vivint, I sleep better and it's nice to know that they were responsive. So, I'm not super worried about fire anymore because the Fire Department is gonna be here before I even know about it.

    The features of Vivint security system were good. I've been with them for two years. I chose Vivint because my sister-in-law had it. I trusted them because she did. Their customer service reps were always very helpful as well. They did the best they can to fix my issues with the system. I've had technicians three times in three different houses. The first time, it was a whole group of young men that came out. They were pretty good, answered my questions, and installed pretty fast. They knew it was my first security system and I was scared I was gonna set off the alarm. They didn't leave until I felt comfortable.

    When I moved in December, I had somebody come in and install it. He was really new. He was very helpful but he installed my panel in my garage and it ended up not working out for us. So, the guy that came and fixed it was phenomenal. He tested everything to make sure every single sensor worked. He recommended where I should put some more sensors. He answered all my questions and he was incredible. Since having the system, I feel safe and secure. They're thorough. On the whole, Vivint is a really good system.

    Tried to cancel the contract and we still lacked 1 more month so I said, "Ok we will pay Feb 2017 then we will be done, yes!" No! I had to send info to an email address to cancel. Ok I did. March came around. They deducted from bank account. OMG, so I call again. I had to submit more paperwork to a given email address and then it would stop. Ok great! Nope got me for another $53.83. So I call again to stop payment and had a young man help. He was nice but he couldn't get it done.

    April comes and they get my deceased mother's account for another 53.83. So here is how I resolved it since I needed to keep bank account open. Log into Vivint electronically, added another form of payment a credit card, move the auto pay to the credit card. The checking account goes away and now they will charge the credit card. Then since my mother had passed and it was one of her cards I called and had a hold put on all charges for that card. Finally got them stopped. Clipped us for $176 before I got them stop... Bloodsuckers!!! Don't set anything up with this company on auto pay!!!

    I signed up for alarm monitoring services from Vivint in June of 2016. I was told that I had to sign a lengthy contract (48 months) but not to worry because Vivint was so flexible that I would never need to cancel. They told me that I could move the services (at no charge) to any new place I may need to move to. This was the only conversation that we had regarding cancellation. I was never told that I was not allowed to cancel for any reason, that there was any kinds of penalties for cancelling. When I knew that I was moving, I called Vivint to make arrangements to move the service to a new location. It was then that they told me that I had to pay a fee for the technician to install my service at any new location. I pushed back saying that I was never told that I would have to pay a fee to move the service and thought it was ridiculous considering that I never paid an installation fee for the original installation.

    I told them that I wanted to cancel the service then which they told me that I should try to find someone to transfer the service to because I would have to “buy-out” my contract. When I pointed out how inflexible Vivint was being after I was pushed into signing this contract because of its flexibility, they basically told me those were my only options. After months of trying to find someone to give this equipment and service to, I gave up and simply suspended the service until I could set it back up at my new address. I have since moved to a location that will not allow me to install the Vivint equipment or use the service. When I called Vivint to cancel my agreement they told me that I could give it to someone else, or pay the remaining balance of the contract (~36 months remain); same options as before.

    When I told them that I had no one to transfer the service to, they adamantly said that those were my only options… to transfer the service or pay the remaining balance of the contract. Then the agent proceeded to threaten me by saying failing to pay would hurt my credit. When I told him I didn’t like being threatened, he said me that he wasn’t threatening me, just pointing it out. It sounds like a threat to me. I immediately ended the call after that.

    They have lied to me to get me to sign up for the service and now that I can’t use it, want to penalize me. I can’t control the fact that my apartment complex will not let me install Vivint’s equipment or use their service. They have promised me things then never gone through with them, i.e. free installation but appears as $99 on my contract; promising me a free video doorbells and special camera monitoring but never provided it at installation; telling me that I could move the service without penalty but wanting to charge me a fee for doing so (after they told me there was no charge); failing to tell me about the ramifications of termination and not detailing it in my agreement; and, refusing to let me terminate my agreement because my apartment complex will not allow me to install the service.

    Vivint was walking down around our neighborhood checking to see if people would be interested in their security system. It seemed like the thing to do at the time was to give it a try. The sales representative came in after we invited him in and he explained the system to us. We didn’t check any others at that time and we didn’t know what it costs. Once we walked through everything, we got the monitors on the windows, doors, the motion sensor in the house and a camera inside the house. We’ve been happy with it. The cost is a little too much now, and I'll be looking around when our contract is up. But, they did a very good job.

    My son is subscribed with Vivint and I live down the street. I've been with them for two years. A Vivint representative was coming up the block recently and he saw that I was out in the garage. I got up and walked over and he spoke to me and said he had just been down at my son's house, asked if I had any problems, and I said "No." He was a salesman in the neighborhood. He was very nice and went on.

    My wife had forgot to disconnect the security system when we came in from lunch today and it went off. She can't seem to reach up there and get the numbers right. Then somebody came on and spoke to her and they got it straightened out. However, the camera is not technically up-to-date. It doesn't give a wide angle and it's not a clear record of movement in the house when the alarm is on or anytime. It's supposed to be recording anytime somebody moves in front of it. It's fuzzy and black-and-white, not in color. I've seen advertisements on other companies' new systems that put a camera on the front porch when anybody rings the doorbell and notifies people on their telephone, and people can speak to them and say "I'm busy right now" or something even if they're not at home. That would be nice.

    Overall I've had a good experience with Vivint. Sales and installation were fine and the only thing that looked odd was it was late, as late as 9 at night, and the guy wanted to install.     I have had a horrendous experience with Vivint. I signed up for a service and within my 3 day trial period I decided it wasn't for me. I contacted the person who had sold it to me at my house and asked how to cancel. I received no response so I called the 855 number to talk to someone. I told the woman that I wanted to cancel my service and today was the 3rd day so I needed to do it today. She told me that the department wasn't open so I should call back tomorrow. I told her, "My 3 day trial end today so I need to cancel today." She said that she would make a note of it in my file so everything should be fine. Finally the person who sold it to me texted me back. He tried to convince me to downgrade or give me a discount but I just wanted to cancel.

    The next day, after my 3 day trial was over, he texted back to tell me just to call the 855 number and they would take care of everything. I called that day and the woman I spoke to told me that I needed to take a picture of the notice of cancellation and send it to an email address. I took the picture the next day and sent it in. 3 days later I get an email saying that I didn't cancel within my 3 days and that I am stuck with this contract that I don't want or need because I was apparently I was supposed to send in the picture of the form by midnight on the day I talked to the woman on the phone even though no one ever mentioned a deadline for sending in this photo.

    I am planning to contact the Better Business Bureau and seek legal action, if necessary, to get me out of this contract that I ATTEMPTED TO CANCEL 2 TIMES WITHIN MY 3 DAY TRIAL PERIOD. The customer service person, Damian, that I talked to was constantly trying to talk over me and was not helpful in any way.     I had a different home security system before. Vivint had a better deal so I switched and I've had them for about seven years now. We've moved three times in the past, and their customer service people have been super helpful and the technicians are perfect.     I had Vivint in Hawaii and I enjoyed their service. So when I moved up in Georgia I made contact with them and it was, more or less, the same people I'm familiar with. So I decided to get the same features from Hawaii. The installation went easy for them because the home that we purchased when I first moved already had an existing system so all they did was patch into what was existing and whatever I wanted additional, they added to it, which wasn’t much.

    I’ve had alarms go off accidentally and had no problems. I just call in or they usually contact me to let me know and ask if there is a problem. I let them know that I set it off accidentally and they're understanding with that. Also, I’ve had to change out my batteries several times and when I call them, they usually show up within a week. They have a quick response and a great customer service.

    When we started with this joke of a company, Vivint, in Missouri, we were beyond thrilled. The customer service was stellar, zero complaints. However, we moved to Michigan four years ago and it has been a nightmare. Our first home that we rented when we moved here constantly had sensor issues, we finally gave up having them "fixed" because they would stop working again and this was on one of the main entry doors. Who can wait around all day every month for sensors that are always down? We felt like we were paying for a security service that left our home unsecured.

    My husband travels a lot and I want to feel safe with my two young boys. This was beyond disappointing. When we finally bought a house four years later and moved in a month ago we were thrilled to dump Vivint and go with another company. Sadly, we found out we have 36 MONTHS left on our contract. We sucked it up and tried to stay positive and give it another try at the new house. We have been trying unsuccessfully for SIX weeks to have Vivint installed. The first two times you guys canceled on us. Who does that? Then, Vivint finally shows up and says; "This house is too big for me to start on at 2PM." What? Our house is approx 2,500 square feet. The guy left. Or, you say you will be here within a time frame and then change your own time frame and either don't show up or show up whenever.

    Our kids have missed soccer, swimming, birthday parties just to get your stupid service set up. Vivint FINALLY came out last weekend (after trying to set it up for four weeks) and guess what? After 6 hours it was incomplete. Vivint couldn't figure out how to install a few cameras that plug into a wall and work via your wifi. Why? Are your installers that untrained or unqualified? They said they would be back today (a week later) from 8-11AM. Another wasted day and sooo many phone calls from beginning this process in MARCH! Did they show up today? Nope. Why would they? THEY DO NOT CARE. When we call, we get nothing but attitude and are told we can't get out of our contract. We get laughed at and the level of smugness is despicable.

    We live in America, right? We have rights and freedom, right? Well, if you sold milk and charged me for milk, I should get milk, right? We do not have security. We have paid for security that we didn't receive for up to 6 weeks when it was not installed here and now guess what? Our week-old new system with nonfunctioning cameras has three sensors that do not work. Once again, another house that I have to hit "bypass" to major sensor doors/windows almost every pertinent sensor to turn the "alarm" on at night. Pathetic. Unacceptable.

    I have never been treated so badly by your "managers" on the phone. Does anyone care? It's so weird. I want OUT! You have so many complaints. Do you Google yourself? Do you look on Facebook? Wow. I feel like I'm being held hostage by my security system. No help, no service, no produce, no security, no customer service, but I need to give you $$$ for the next three years? Beyond angry.

    I had an ADT security system before and it wasn’t working well for me so I needed a different one. I went with Vivint but the only thing was I had to wait a while for them to come over here to my new place to hook up the system but I understood because everybody was getting security systems or getting their systems reconnected after the flood. Other than that, their installation guy went over how to operate everything after he put the system in. He showed me how to go to the panel and do different things. He was really knowledgeable and was very helpful.

    Vivint is a great security system because you can speak through the intercom if something happens. ADT didn’t have that. If something was to happen, I will have to call 911. With Vivint, they will call in if the alarm was to go off and it is one of the features I fell in love with. Everything was excellent. It’s really a good security system and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I really love it.

    Vivint was already installed when we bought this house, but we called the company because there were alarm issues on our first day. They explained everything to us and we really liked their services so we told them we were going with them. They never changed anything and the guy who came simply installed one new equipment for carbon monoxide in the basement. He was really good and he explained everything to us because it was like $250 for that thing. He convinced us so we were happy with that.

    We are really good with their reps and once when we had a smoke alarm go off, they called us immediately but was only the smoke from my cooking. We are satisfied with their services. When we told friends about this little fire and the smoke incident, they were really impressed. They said they needed Vivint so that Friday, they called them.     Well, I switch from Monitronics (which was a mistake in itself) to Vivint in March of 2014. Approximately 1 year ago the battery stopped working, and I was told I have to pay something like $75+ for a technician to come replace it, and when I was with Monitronics they replaced one for free. So, I have not used the security system since, and my mom passed away last week, and I am needing to eliminate all unnecessary bills and this is something that I was paying on for my mother. I was told I signed a 48 month contract, and would not be able to get out of it without having to pay 400 and something dollars to buy out of it. I told the lady numerous times that my mom died, and I cannot afford it, because I will be taking over payments and bills in her house, plus I am not using it.

    The lady at customer service was kind of rude and said, "Well we can send someone out to fix the battery at no charge," and I said, "Well I don't need the service, and what if I was actually moving and not staying in my mom's place?" She said, "Well I can't let you out of your contract without paying it off which, again is like 400+ dollars." The answer she provided was not helpful whatsoever, and I am completely unsatisfied with this company. I heard about how poor their customer service was, and now I know it's the truth. I asked to speak with a manager and she said she worked for 14 years and knew that they would not be able to waive the deactivation fee, due to having 10 months left on my contract. I may just close out my account through my bank, because this is ridiculous, and I am definitely not recommending their services.

    Price was reasonable. System was easy to set up. Plus, they were supportive when I had a problem. I've been using Vivint's service for three years now. The recommendation of my sister who has their security system was the reason I chose them. Sometimes the phone app doesn't work and I have to adjust the temperature manually but I dealt with it. Also, the Vivint team has been great. The person who took care of installation did everything we asked and was very helpful in getting things set up.

    One day, we were having a problem and they couldn't send the new software update. I had to disconnect everything. I had to take the panel apart, disconnect the batteries, and turn the power off. Then, they had to reboot the system and it all worked out. However, it was 45 minutes of interaction with the person on the other end and I didn't realize that I had to do it myself. I wasn't prepared for finding where the connections were but that was fine and they walked me through it. Other than that, I've been pretty pleased with Vivint because I haven't had any problems that are notable. I would recommend them.

    My niece, sister, great nephew and I went with Vivint, so it's like a family affair. Up until yesterday, I was absolutely fine with Vivint, but it’s personally my fault. The sensor on the basement door has been nonfunctioning and they told me what to do but I can’t get my fingers up there to open it. I haven’t called them back to discuss it any further but I left and I might have used my key fob when I left around noon.

    I was helping a friend move when my niece called me and said that she was on her way to my house because Vivint had called the police because of my backdoor. My niece said, “I don’t know why you didn’t get her. Did you call her on her cell?” And Vivint said, “Yes.” I didn’t get a chance to call them today but I need to get my cellphone on the list for myself and then I need to have my neighbor removed because she’s no longer able to walk up the street so I have to make some changes. Their customer service was very good and their technicians were very nice. Overall, they’ve been extremely nice in trying to help me.

    I have had my security system less than a month and the customer service has been horrible. Vivint charged my account $67 about 2 weeks after the install. I'm not sure what this charge is for and have called 3 times and no one in billing knows either. Every time I have been promised that someone will call me back as to why I was charged $67 dollars. No one has ever called me back. I am very frustrated and mad. It's ridiculous that Vivint is taking money out of my account and no one knows why. This has been a very poor start for a new customer almost to the point where I want to cancel and report Vivint to the Better Business Bureau.

    When we first started out with Vivint, they had my wife sign the forms and not me although I'm the one who originally entered into the contract. Then, they gave us two defective thermostats and this is in the very beginning, October, 2014. Our entire home was running on electricity and it kept our heater on emergency electric so it was costing us $500 - $700 a month bill-wise for our electric service. They kept on the auxiliary pump because it wasn’t kicking on the heat pump during the winter time. But they replaced them so it was okay. They corrected that and gave us credit back for a couple of months. As time went by, it got a little better. Later on, we got a few more goodies as far as things that we needed like fire and smoke detectors.

    Then, within the last few months, I was prompted to talk to them about our garage door opener because AT&T offered it. Vivint said they have a garage door opener and I told the young lady that I was talking to that I'm pretty much onboard. They set it up for us to get the garage door opener, a new lock and a few other items such as automatic lights or lighter and their control panel or a phone so it will be fully automated.

    They sent a gentleman the first time who didn’t call us to say they don’t have our items. So my wife and I waited for absolutely nothing. My wife’s a physician/surgeon and she has to take a Saturday off in my place. It cost her time more than anything else. She’s taking time away from patients and each patient she might have to process might be anywhere from six to twelve pages. If she has four or five patients she has to round on that day, do the math on how much paperwork she has to do, electronic or not. Then she got to do dictation so a four-hour window for her means an awful lot. To sit there, come by and tell us they don’t have our items at all and they're on back order instead of calling us and letting us know is a no-brainer.

    I called and I was pretty upset. I talked to the customer service person and she said that they’re pretty much gonna tell me the same thing as far as what they do. They could set my appointment and that if I'm wanting a refund and I still want the items, they’ll give me my money back and they’re gonna take it again. That was not customer service. The installer was sitting right there who said that wasn’t good.

    Then, I spoke with the manager and told him to put me on the phone with somebody who cares. I was surprised that he said they can get me a $10 or $20 back on my bill. It’s not the money. My wife and I make well in the six figures. We could have paid for the system outright if we really wanted to. The bottom line is, don’t insult us with $25 and think it’s gonna shut us up. I hung up on him but what he didn’t tell me, instead of him trying to get the last laugh, is that when I hung up on him, the order was canceled. Another two weeks went by and we had an established date but nobody came by. I called them again and they said they don’t have a date for me and they don’t have anything on file. Magically, the notes disappeared and it made me look like I'm crazy. Somebody finally looked into it and said that when I hung up, that canceled out the order.

    What if I didn’t hang up and I went through a bad area and the call dropped? He didn’t have the decency to at least call back to finish my order. Another two or three weeks go by, we try and order this because we’re pretty much into it. They finally got the garage door in but it didn’t have the lock. They sent it and said they expect the client to install it themselves. But the lock was supposed to be there along with the garage opener and everything that’s supposed to be installed. The installer installed everything and did all the adjustments. He even fixed the panel and put it together right. The man did what he could to make it right. He’s doing this for Vivint so they’d look better but at the end of the day, it was just poorly done.

    I called recently and spoke to a young lady. We’re trying to get something established and she was saying they can’t get anybody out here because it is a lot but they can help me install or whatever the case may be and work out some deal. I ended up telling her that I think it's amazing that they're all good in their collection efforts. They have a system in place to make sure to follow up when somebody owes them money but when they owe somebody common courtesy and professionalism, they seem to fall short on that. Taking care of the client didn't seem to be something that was a top priority for them. This has not been a fun almost three years. It’s been a two-and-a-half-year ride in hell and it's horrible, to say the least.

    I moved into a house that has the Vivint security installed in it and called the company to have the service transferred into my name. The rep told me they could do it and gladly took my payment of $52. After processing my payment, the rep then tells me they cannot transfer the service to my name because I did not have the required verbal code, so the payment I made would have to be refunded and it will take 7-10 business days (no problem right?!). It has been 3 weeks now and I still haven't seen a single penny! I have called and called Vivint only to have them hang up on me or leave me on hold for a good while while they "look" at the account and see what's going on, only to have them "look" at the account for 15, 20 or 30 minutes and never get back to my call!!! The customer service reps for this company really really suck!!! Oh, and by the way, 'till this day I still haven't received a single penny!!!

    Called and cancel service to go with another company. Customer service never informed me to put cancellation in writing when I called. They denied the call ever took place. Vivint refused to reimburse me. They were not monitoring my home. They never called and reported to me that my system was not communicating with them either. They would send a signal out to test to the system. So they were not doing what they were paid to do. So why should they get paid. There has been times when I accidentally tripped the alarm myself during the time I switched to another security company and Vivint never called. This makes me wonder if they were ever monitoring my home.

    A Vivint salesman randomly stopped by my house one day and he gave me a deal. He was a really nice guy and he knew what was going on. The installation team was here within 30 minutes and the guy was pretty quick. They walked me through pretty much everything, all the apps and how it was set up. It's been great and I like the fact that I can add everything on my phone. But I was having some issues with the app. Three months ago I did an upgrade on my system and when I called the help desk, they walked me through it. I did a new download of everything and every single thing has been good.

    I stopped using Vivint for my home because of the pricing after my service contract was up. They didn’t want to discount or do anything until I actually canceled and then I got an e-mail saying that they would do it for half price. I didn’t feel I was getting value for what I was paying and they weren’t willing to do any upgrades or discount my current system after I’d been on the contract for even after the 36 months I signed up for. I still have Vivint at my business until October. The only reason I continue with them is because I’m under contract and I will review it at the time my contract ends. My overall experience with them has been positive until loyalty wasn’t a factor for them to keep me as a client.

    Vivint is a company that will leave you high and dry once you sign a contract. I have been ignored the last few days trying to get a resolution to a very simple issue. Once I told the account rep what my issue was she just flat out stopped responding. Our install was a week ago and still isn't finished. They apparently came to without all the equipment we agreed upon and left our home only partially protected. At this point as they have not fulfilled their end of the contract I'm ready to yank everything out of my house and go back to ADT.

    As far as the install... We got a doorbell camera so we could see the faces of people walking up to the front door. But they were nice enough to mount it on the exterior garage wall rather than the wall the front door is on. So it has a wonderful view of the neighbors fence and will only see a face if someone looks at the doorbell. As we all know a picture of the side of someone's head doesn't help much in identifying a person that kicks your door in.

    The camera in the backyard is mounted so high it only sees the top of someone's head. Again, not much help. Ordered 2 garage door controllers, only got 1.

    Supposed to be a contact on the side garage door, there is nothing there. No protection. The camera images are very clear. Probably as clear as the picture I get from all their dodging phone calls and ignoring emails. They don't care about their customers.

    I had a Vivint alarm system installed when they first started out in my area. First it was a disaster because it took them about ten months to finish the install. After about three years I saw that Time Warner had the same service for half the price of what I was paying so I called to see if they would match the price and they apparently tricked me into a contract extension without my knowledge. So now I sell my house and planning on building a new one and was going to have a Vivint alarm in the new house until I call to cancel the service until I'm able to get my house built and moved in. They tell me I'm unable to cancel the service. Even though I no longer own the property or anything else they still insist on charging me.

    So I finally call and get a supervisor on the phone who tells me, "No that's not right. You can get it cancelled. Just send in a copy of your lease. We will let you out." It's crazy to be charged for something you don't even own. So I send a copy of my lease and then call back and was told that it would take a month to process. Give it thirty days. 45 days later I call back and then was told by another supervisor that was wrong. They refuse to cancel it. DO NOT USE VIVINT!!! THEY WILL NEVER LET YOU CANCEL YOUR SERVICE. I had no idea I would be moving for one and two I had no idea they extended my contract. I have been given the runaround and lied to over and over again. This started in Feb and now it's almost May and I'm still dealing with it. They will lie to you to get your business then make it impossible if you ever need to not use them anymore.

    Vivint went out of their way and got me more than they were supposed to. I have the standard alarm, glass break alarm, the camera, and wall socket module for lights. But I negotiated with them, and now got the door lock deal. Plus, I got them down to three and a half years contract. Also, their service is cheap. In the past, if I have an issue, they were right there. I've even bought stuff on eBay and hooked it up. I called them and they helped me do it over. They're a pretty good company. I would go with them again.

    My husband was in the hospital and someone broke in my back porch. There was only one door between me and them. So I decided it’s time to get a security system. We have the basic security from Vivint including the glass breakage if anybody breaks the glass and gets in. It's fully covered. The sales rep from Vivint was very nice and helpful. He answered all my questions. Then, there were two of them who came to install and they were very good. They cleaned up their mess where they had to bore the holes. They swept up their dust.

    Also, Vivint has been really helpful and they were patient with me when I accidentally set it off when I first got the system. I set it off several times accidentally because I wasn’t used to it and they responded right away. One thing I was very pleased with was when my husband fell a couple of months ago. He broke five ribs and had a concussion. Instead of calling 911, I pressed my emergency button on my wall unit and they responded right away. The policeman who came out told me that that was the quickest response. It was quicker than 911 normally does and I was very impressed with that. I’m very happy with Vivint.

    We started looking at home security systems a couple of years ago. We did a bunch of research online and then ended up using Vivint. I like how you could talk to them through the panel.     We go away often and we like to have security so we can check it. Vivint didn't do it properly. They should have put the right stuff from the start and we wouldn’t have problems. They want to do everything as cheap as possible so they send the guy out two or three times even when they don't have the right stuff yet. And then finally, we get a false alarm and they said they're going to charge us for it. I said, "That's enough, we'll cut them off." They should know better. It costs them money and it is stupid.     I love Vivint's service but it was a very rough start. I moved into a new house, all new construction. When I initially had the service call, the installer made a lot of mistakes. He didn't give me a lot of information and didn't get me set up with the security password. So when I first had to call and ask a question, I was asked for my security password and I didn't know what they were talking about. It turned into a very long, rigorous process for me to prove that I was me. But once we got things ironed out, it's been fantastic.

    I got the system that offers basic security. I wanted the doorbell camera but unfortunately, once the service guy came and tested the wiring to my doorbell, I don't have enough voltage to use it so I had to go with another brand. It was a bit frustrating when I first had issues with my system and I found that the person I was talking to had limited authority. I've got passed on to this person and that person but it was because I got off to a rough start due to the very incompetent installer. But ever since then, it's been very pleasant. I don't have many interactions with their salespeople, which is a good sign and that means everything is running smoothly. I'm a satisfied customer.

    With the Vivint mobile app, I can go ahead and check the status if I'm away. I also like the wireless aspect of it so I don't have to have a wired AT&T phone line for the system to work. Those things are convenient. Also, it seems like the service people were very responsive if I ever had an alarm or having an issue. I just call them very quickly.

    From Vivint, we have the thermostat. We had a wired system within our house from ADT, a prior system. I tapped into that, and then I added some wireless modules to expand the system a little bit. The different feature Vivint has with ADT is that Vivint does not have status monitors or status pad systems at the doorways yet, at which different doors can tell me whether the system is armed or not. It would be a very important feature to have and I've called and talked to them about that. I can only tell that with Vivint from one central location. I have to walk across the house, past to that location and that's not a real convenient feature to have in a security system. Also, ADT had small status pads with keypads built into it at doorways. I can put them in and there’s a little red light there I could turn off and it sets the whole system off.

    We had heard about Vivint through a gentleman that my husband works with. We liked their overall cost. It was a lot better and more reasonably priced. We got the thermostat, carbon monoxide detector, and smoke detectors on both floors. We got it set up so if for some reason the furnace doesn't work and the house drops below a certain temperature, it notifies me. At the time that we got it, we had a really old furnace. My husband was away a lot and I was trying to take care of everything by myself. And with me working a lot, it was good to have that notification available if it was needed. We had techs come out and install everything for us, and they were very polite and cleaned up their mess when they were done. They were also very informative. They took the time to explain everything to me and help me with all the techie stuff like how to get it on my phone so I can monitor my home when I'm away.

    Vivint's services has been awesome. They are really good. We live in an area that gets high wind sometimes and it sets off our alarm when it shakes the garage door. And Vivint was very quick. They were on the panel before we even got out of the bedroom. We may have to update our equipment in a few years but we're planning on keeping their service. We really like it. We've already recommended it to several people who have been looking.

    Agent was very nice, and patience. However, I have had several issues within the past 6 months with my service. Camera has been offline too many times. Today I was very upset b/c my camera doorbell is not working so now I have to pay $49 fee for a tech to come out and fix it, I have to take off from work b/c they have no availability on Saturdays and I have NO doorbell or camera service for a week. If this continues I will have to cancel service and go to ADT or purchase my own cameras. So inconvenient!!! My fee should be waived or even better there should never be a fee for a tech to come out and fix a Vivint problem.

It's really upsetting since my settings are set on record. The batteries in the front door dies every month or sometimes more than twice a month because it's so frequently used. And this morning, I got a notification from the patio door about it. It would be better if Vivint came and changed the batteries in the system instead of just sending them to me, which I've never received.     The installation was easy and it went well. We were happy with the installers. So far, the system is good, except for a couple of really small things. One is, on one of the windows in the bedroom, the magnetic piece fell off, but they sent me a new piece. The other thing was when the electricity went off, the thing kept beeping until the electricity came back on. I called the company about it and they told me that I needed to take it apart, take the battery out of it, and it would stop beeping. However, when the system was set up, they drilled a hole in the wall to run the wire through and the wire fell back into the hole. I then had to fish the whole thing out of the wall when I had to take the battery out and it was a pain in the neck. But other than that, the service works great.

    Vivint sends a high-pressure salesperson to offer you a free installation. They don't explain that you'll pay $50/month. (That was 10 years ago.) After several years we decided to cancel the service. It was very difficult to cancel. Instead of meeting our request, they would transfer us to someone who would try to get us to stay. Finally, we succeeded though they always charge an extra month following the cancellation. But do they use that time to come and uninstall their electronic equipment. No.

    A couple of years later you'll find yourself waking up to a loud beeping because a battery inside the wall-mounted, wired, apparatus has died. Our electrician said Vivint should remove it. Vivint said they'd tell us how to do it ourselves and mail it back to them. This company is all about exploiting the customer. I looked at reviews in every state in which they operate: all have complaints about Vivint's high-pressure sales tactics and the difficulty of canceling their service.

    Before I agreed to a contract I asked if Vivint cameras monitored 24/7 not just off of motion. The representative told me yes I could always go back with my Space Monkey and check. My car was broken into on April 12, 2017 right in front of my house. I checked the camera, no footage. Space Monkey wasn't connected. But once the tech came out, he stated Vivint gave false information. It doesn't record 24/7. It only picks up motion sometimes. One rep offered a refund. Once I called back the other told me I had to have another tech come out and see if it's working. He was very rude and didn't want to refund my money.

    I reported this company to the BBB. Hopefully they can help. I am telling all of my family members not to sign or renew contract at all. The customer service is horrible. They treat customers so bad all I wanted is for them to come and get this equipment and refund my money and they're giving me such a hard time I haven't even had them for 2 months.

    We have our internet and alarm service through them. We need internet so might as well get it through Vivint as through anybody else and then the alarm service because we travel. We've been satisfied with service. Everything has been fine with the sales rep and installation team. The only feedback I have with the company is that occasionally they chose our house to be like a relay for internet service and then when that didn't workout and without letting us know they changed it to one of our neighbor's houses. The changes they periodically make sometimes cause our service to have to be rebooted and it's a bit of a hassle. If I was referring them to a friend, I would probably say be sure and check with AT&T and others in terms of cost.

    My friend said Vivint was good so I got it. But I regret it since day one. The camera's not working all the time and then sensors failing. And it's $100 a month when I can get a security system through local outfits for $20 a month. The guy came out and looked at it a few times and got it working for a week or two and it doesn’t work again. I haven't had any issues with the guy in town that services them. He’s been great. It’s just the equipment seems to be junk. It's had its ups and downs. I’ve had my wife’s vehicle get cleaned out right in front of the camera, less than 20 feet away, and not a ** thing on the camera. Why do I pay for it if someone can come out and completely clean out both vehicles in my driveway and not get any of it on camera staring at both vehicles.

    As my city continues to grow, so does the petty crime in it. I decided to install a security system after my neighbor's home was burglarized. He chose Vivint and I had some minor experience with the system from a friend's house as well. I had seen the equipment and I think it is top notch, so it was an easy choice for me. 3 days after everything is installed, I begin to run into problems with my indoor Ping cameras. The ability to two-way talk with others in the house is a great feature...if it worked. I discovered this feature after the installation was complete, problem was I could talk to them but they couldn't talk to me. I contacted customer support and they ran me through the process of factory resetting my cameras due to the panel receiving a firmware update. I completed the reset and everything worked fine. Few hours later, now they can talk to me but I can't talk to them.

    Contacted customer support once more, this time they had me uninstall the Vivint mobile app, re-install it, and make sure that the correct permissions were marked. They weren't, problem solved once again. The next day I got to talk to my kids through the cameras, they can't hear me. I uninstall and reinstall the app, check the permissions, still no sound through the camera. This time I set up for a tech visit to the house to check out the problem but have to wait 6 days for him. Love the service and all of the capabilities of the equipment, just wish they worked as advertised without having to uninstall an app everyday or go through the time consuming process of factory resets on my indoor Ping cameras. What is disturbing is, after reading a lot of these reviews, if the Ping cameras never really work as intended, I am afraid I will be stuck in a brutal contract for 5 years without working equipment.

    Don't ever do business with Vivint. They are a ruthless greedy company who will do everything they can to screw over their customers. Regardless of what their cancellation policy is or their statement about unforeseen circumstances, they will not let you out of your contract. We had to move due to my wife's job and sell our house. Because we rent now and Vivint can't provide their "services" to us at our new residence, they want the full amount left on the contract. What's worse, the person who bought our house said they would take over the contract and then never did so I can't even get the equipment back.

    What makes no sense is that their contract is to provide a service. Once they can no longer provide that service, they have no right to the remaining amount on the contract. The contract is for services, not goods, so when they can't provide the service, they don't get the money. For example, if you sign up for $49.95 per month for 4 years, they COULD potentially get $2,397 out of you IF they can provide that service to you for the full 48 months. Just because you have to move and they can't provide the service anymore doesn't mean they're entitled to the remaining amount that they could have charged you.

    They won't work with you at all, so you better hope nothing happens and you have to move because they'll try to hold you to the remaining balance on the contract. Greedy, rude customer service, terrible sales tactics, LIES. (At Vivint, we understand that sometimes the unexpected happens)... BS. I'm thinking that even when the customer dies they'll try to get their pound of flesh out of next of kin. Insensitive awful people. I wish I would have never answered the door when their pushy salesman knocked that day. One of the biggest financial mistakes I've made in my life. Please let my mistake be a learning experience for others and don't ever give them your business.

    My parents and some of my friends had Vivint and were happy with it, I didn't look further. Because I am a single woman alone, I have the basic security on the doors and windows, and the smoke detector. I called them when I had a problem and they scheduled someone to come out and walked me through telling me how to fix it myself. I did that and it worked. Then they had to replace my panel. I'm very happy with Vivint and I felt very secure. Anytime I've had an issue, they got on it and fixed it. The technician was good and he knew what he was doing and got it done. I also love their mobile app, it’s great.

    A relative of mine has Vivint. Their installation person did a great job. However, Vivint is not the best service. I had a lot of equipment issues a lot of the time. But I'm locked in to a contract. Also, their customer service could be a lot better. I can call five different representatives, five different times and each time I'll hear something different. They're not trained all the same way. It seems like they are all being trained by different people. It's frustrating.

    We had decided that we wanted to get some home security just to be safe. We were going out of town at the time and it felt safer if our house was monitored. We also needed cellular service because our home does not have a dedicated hard line for phone. At the time, Vivint had the best packages and their price was better than everybody else's. We have a 44-month contract with them and about 25 sensors in our package, and they monitor 24/7 which is nice. During installation, it was just one individual and it went well. He was very thorough and he did his business.

    However, the sales reps and the installation technicians don't talk. Our sales rep told us a lot of things that the installation technician then said either wasn't possible at this time or was not a promotion they're currently running. Also, we've had a couple of issues with some of our sensors not communicating with our panel and Vivint was not able to tell us why it's doing that. But, they've been very quick to contact us when the alarm had gone off. Thankfully, it has only been false alarms at this point. Overall we've been very happy with Vivint.

    I have made multiple attempts to make sure my service was cancelled after my contract was up. I have made phone calls, I have sent emails and I still receive bills. 5 months after my contract was up and I made it clear I wanted this service cancelled I received a collection notice in the mail. Needless to say I am at my wits end with this. I am waiting for an account manager to fix this situation. If they do not correct their mistake I will take further action either legal or maybe even NBC Responds. I'm sure the news station would love to tackle this consumer issue on the local news.

Their rep was very informative, laid everything out, built it out, said this is what it would be and it worked out. Then we had a lot of stuff to put in and it took 3 or four hours to install. Also, we had security before, so they took over all the security stuff as well. After installation, one piece of equipment went sideways and went faulty, but they came back out and replaced it. Everything's been fine since then.

    Purchased from them service package that includes the camera and the glass break and the motion. I needed more motion and I'm thinking we should put another camera in on the porch, but they didn’t have the outside cameras at the time. It's nice to be able to go online and be able to see what's going on at your house. I wish there would have been more motion put in through besides glass break because sometimes the person can break open the window and get in and still be in the room. He might not trip the one motion detector which is in the center of the hall. They have to go in the hallway to trip that, but that’s the only thing.

    Service is not so bad but I would rather have it monthly. That’s the only thing I don’t like about them. It's contracted in for two years and I don’t like being tied in for two years. Maybe a year, six months to a year, but not a whole two years. I want to be able to try other services to see if they're any good. Their sales rep provides very good service. Their service is excellent. How they treat people and worked with me as far as my bill. They're very, very cordial and respectable. They're a good company. The guy who installed it was all right. They're really good and I've recommended them to other people.

    I have Vivint for two years and I have a couple of motion sensors, door sensors, smoke alarm, and most recently, the doorbell camera included in my package. We got the doorbell camera because we wanted to record what was going on in our front. But, that was the thing I'm least happy with because it does not record all the time. We've had a couple of issues with it, the servicemen coming out and Vivint trying to charge us for the service call when it's obviously a technical problem on any issue. However, they have waived the charge but that was the least accurate feature.

    It was frustrating everybody a little bit where they thought it might be a technical problem or a software problem because a friend of ours has a camera also and they're having issue with it as well. So, everybody's a little stumped with that one. But overall, the techs that came to the house were fine. The cs reps that I've spoken to have been excellent as well. I also liked that I'm able to access the security system anytime and anywhere. So, overall we're satisfied and I have recommended them to friends.

    I got the equipment that I needed from Vivint at a lower cost and have had it for about four years now. I got the motion sensors for the windows and doors, as well as the fire and flood alarms. I had a battery issue which was irritating because the battery starts wanting to go dead once the electricity goes out. I've been disappointed about that because the gal basically told me that if I wasn't happy, I could buy one at Home Depot for $30. She said that the batteries are supposed to last up to eight hours, and if it were to completely shut down by then, they would get the notification saying that there was communication lost, and that would be the only way that they would replace the battery. That was the only negative effect from customer service.

    I also talked to them about my price before, as I wish the cost was a little bit lower because my dad had the equivalent system through ADT and he's paying about $29 right now, while mine is about $45. The price did go down a tad bit. They didn't go to the extent of what my father has, but they did, at least, make an attempt. But besides all that, the overall experience has been pretty good.

    I heard about Vivint from a friend of mine in Texas. So, I had Vivint in my home there and I decided to get it when I came to the Douglasville, Georgia area and then transferred to the new home where I am now. The sales representative that I had in Texas was good. I've always liked the way their panel talks. I moved into a neighborhood where the houses are a lot more in close proximity and they can hear that alarm when it beeps and it says “ooo-oop”. I had a little problem with communication when I was doing the deferment. But they rectified that in deferring the service a little longer. However, I’m trying to get used to the new panel. It's a bit different than the one I had before. But the one I had before wouldn’t work because it took the guys a long time and they said, “Well, we just need to go on and switch this out because it’s not working the way it’s supposed to.”

    The installer that I had with my house in Douglasville told me they were supposed to put a four-side hole and the man had a hole in there almost the size of the panel. The back of the panel has a 3x5 hole. I had to get that taken care of before selling the house. So, I told them no holes in the walls, no holes in the doors and all of that, so they put the different type of system in my new home where they can just be stuck to the wall, or there’s a couple of them that are screwed into the wall. They did good with my brand new doors because the system does what it’s supposed to do and I don’t have a whole lot of holes in the wall. Now I need to do have somebody go over the key fob. It’s not hooked up to the system right now. It was hooked to the other one, but because they changed the panel out, it’s not hooked up to this one and I forgot to tell the gentlemen when they came.

    I like the services and I intend to keep it for a while. They tried to get me an additional three-year contract, but I don’t want to be in another contract. I’ll keep the services after the contract is over, but that’s about it. Everybody keeps hearing my system and tried to figure out what they were so I have recommended Vivint. I tried to transfer the system to the new owners of my house in Douglasville but they didn’t want to because they were not familiar with the company. But I left an impression on them. They said Vivint was an option because someone said, “If you wanna be completely secured, ADT won’t do it and neither will Comcast. So, you need to go to Vivint because they’ll talk to you and your system will talk if you’re in trouble.”

    My friend used Vivint and had a good experience so I went with them. I purchased the door alarm which is all we really wanted. We didn’t need anything else. But, it's way overpriced. I wouldn't have even done it except it was right before we had our first kid. In a moment of just being scared about having a kid without a security system, we caught ourselves in the one month period where we would've made a decision like that. It works just fine for what it is, but the contract length is 43 months, which is totally bonkers. It's all my own fault. I'm not blaming anybody but myself. I'll never re-up. They can't pay me enough to re-up.

    The guy who came out and installed it two and a half years ago, he was fine and nice. He did a good. We've had a couple of times where, just through miscommunication, the alarm system has gone off, and they’ve been helpful. Even though it was a false alarm, they’ve been helpful. Then we moved across the country and got confused about what to bring with us. They told us we had to take our alarm panel so we did. We had to set up another appointment to get them to come out and that’s a $100. But the guy who I talked to this is last week could not tell me what it was going to cost. He said it'd be $99 plus a certain amount to put the little things, the door sensors on the doors. He couldn’t tell me if we would be charged for those other things. They’re coming later this week, so I'm going to ask them real clearly whether or not they're going to charge us or not.

    I used their mobile app also but since we moved here a few months ago they haven't even been out to install it in our new house. So I'm not using any of their services currently even though I'm still paying them. So that’s how unmotivated we are to keep it. But once they reinstall it, we'll probably use the mobile app. It’s good that we can access our security system at any time anywhere. It’s a plus.
