    I am very UN-HAPPY with the customer service. My husband and I have 3 systems, 1 at home and 1 in each of our business. We contacted customer service about our billing. We were asking if there is any way to get a cheaper monthly bill as our old systems were a lot cheaper than the Vivint. He was very rude with us, we then asked for him to book an appointment for a technician to come and remove all the systems in all 3 locations. He hung up on us!! We then called our sales person Kal and explained we are not happy, and he then also said he would help us, which again we haven't heard from him. We will NOT recommend this system to any of our business/personal friends and family! We feel that there should be some kind of break in cost when you sign 3 agreements within 3 days, especially when the salesman says just call in and they will give you a good deal. Just a scam to sell.

    I had your system installed in my home after a representative knocked on my door. At the time I was with ADT and was looking to upgrade. First of all she lied and told me I had 7 days to cancel, not 3. Secondly the automatic garage opener was faulty so our cars were trapped in the garage for 2 days. When the system was finally removed from our home after I called and demanded that they remove it after the first 24 hrs, my garage could not open.

    I had to pay a garage specialist $275 to open and free our cars from the garage and I have the receipts from that encounter. Now all I have for trying your company is holes that were drilled all over my house and a 275 dollar bill to free my cars from my garage. Thanks but I will never do business with you guys again and just remember that feedback goes a lot way. I will let others know of my experience. The sweet fast talking salesperson all of a sudden became evasive and rude once the system was installed and I have learned my lesson.

    I am very dissatisfied with this system and the customer service. I will not recommend this alarm system as an affordable one for families, how it was sold to me. The system is battery operated of which they need to be changed frequently. When I called to cancel because of how dissatisfied I am, I was told that I would need to buy it out right now $1600. I am certainly having a hard time trying to see how is this affordable. I was trying to cancel and arrangements to make payments. But apparently they don't do that? I don't believe this product quality and Vivint service is not anywhere near of what they portray to be consumer friendly satisfaction and affordability.

    After the installation of the new equipment, everything seemed to work fine. Now two weeks into the contract, I've spent a total of 8 hours on the phone with customer support to try and resolve the issues. Today I have an appointment scheduled to correct the faulty devices or the system. If the issues are not corrected. Vivint has my permission to remove everything and end the contract. I have been patient, I have calls logged, pictures, and video of all issues. My appointment window is 9-12, it's now 11:12. The technician will probably be late again. I have more to share, I Vivint or customers would like more feedback. P.S. This all stemmed from a theft in front of one of the faulty cameras. I found a big gap in the log files.

    When my previous company told me that I needed to get my system fixed, and it would be four weeks before I could get a repairman, I switched to Vivint. We now have a doorbell camera which we didn’t have before. It gives a bit more security. When we travel, we know who’s at our front door. We also have the phone app and it’s great. I could be in another state or city, and I'd get the call done right away, just, “Hello. Can I help you?” Or I can go out and if somebody has to do some work in the house that we trusted and we've had them here before, I can turn off the alarm and open the door for them. So, it works out well.

    I called their representatives to have two new contacts because I needed to put two new windows in, and the gentleman on the phone was excellent. The installer was very professional, very courteous and he wasn’t pushy trying to sell up their products. Overall, Vivint is a pleasure to have and they’ve been very good. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

    The people from Vivint are friendly and knowledgeable. I got a doorbell, door and window alarms from them. Their sales reps have all been good and their installation crew were ready and willing and were able to hook the devices up within an hour. Right now though, their system doesn’t work. I had new doors put in such that they would shut completely whereas before I had a gap in the door, so now I can't use the alarm system at all because it doesn’t recognize that the door is shut or locked.

    Don't know how you stay in business. Called at the end of 4 hour window to tell me you're running late (1200-4pm). I called at 5pm to find the status stated still running late. Reschedule for another day and you no showed! One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with!!! I'm pissed I can't give you negative 5 stars. Please be aware this company did not meet the 4 hour window on the first schedule installation and no-showed me the second time around. Don't waste your time.

    From the start: A salesman shows up to our door and starts giving his pitch. We were not interested, but he convinced us by feeding us lies. Told us we were signing a 2 year contract. It was a 5 year. Told us, "You can cancel at any time with a SMALL fee." You have to pay out the entire contract. Thousands of dollars. We moved a few months later and found a different home security provider that offered more in the way of equipment and service and was less than half the cost. NO CONTRACT REQUIRED. First off, if a company wants you to sign a contract it is a good indication that they are worried you will find out how horrible they are and want to force you to stay with them and keep giving them your money. Vivint falls under that category. Anyways, we called to cancel when we moved. This is when we find out we're in a 5 year contract not a 2 year contract.

    We tell them about everything their salesman told us and that we were lied to about everything. They said they are not responsible for what their salesman says. We ask to get in contact with that salesman and they tell us he no longer works there. We fought it forever and gave up because they simply did not care. They had our money for the next 4 years. So we move and have them come move our equipment and they bill us for the move. (Another lie we were told to get us to sign the contract that they do free moves.)

    Just recently I get fed up with the system again. Their equipment does not work how it's said to. Camera goes in and out all the time. Half the time we can't even view it. The Thermostat screws up constantly. We've had a few accidental alarm set offs and I would say 40% of the time we don't even get a call from them or anything. So much for the alarm I guess. The keypad lock on the front door is supposed to disarm the home when used. Alarm went off on our dog sitter after using the keypad. So that didn't work. I could go on and on. Anyways, so I call to do whatever I can again to cancel. The first time I call I'm told I have 4 months left on my contract and can just pay it off. I'm confused because I'm two years in on a 5 year contract (so they say) but I tell them I'm not paying it off. I just want it canceled because I've been getting screwed around for 2 years.

    I demand to talk to a supervisor and get told that one will call me in 5 to 10 mins. I wait an hour with no call and call back. Demand a supervisor again and get one after being on hold forever. Tell him all my issues and I'm not paying off the final 4 months and he says I have 2 and a half years left on my contract. So again I'm just getting fed lies and getting the run around constantly. It's 36 months first, then 4 months and now 30 months. Really??? After yelling and pleading and explaining to this guy how they are in breach of contract in so many ways, he absolutely refuses to cancel my service. I asked him to send a copy of the contract to me so I can go through it and show them (and my lawyer if necessary) everywhere that they are in breach of contract. They will not send it to me. I keep getting other documents that show how much I owe or something completely different than what I want.

    Again they are giving me the run around because they don't want to send the actual contract. Now I am going anywhere I can to tell everyone how horrible Vivint is. And I will keep doing so to help people avoid getting sucked into the scam they've sucked so many others into. Vivint is the absolute worst company to get involved with. They will make it sound so good but it's not. They are SCAM ARTISTS. Do not trust them. Do not do business with them. There are so many better options out there, I PROMISE. I am still working on getting my service canceled and will soon be getting my lawyer involved. It has seriously come to that. It's unreal.

    Some of the houses around here had been broken into. We got Vivint's basic security package. We've had it for over eight years and it has been great so far. I had a few problems but they took care of them right away. We had a motion sensor in the garage that was too sensitive. I called them and they reset it. They were very courteous and took care of it. Also, a few times we set off the alarm ourselves. They called and checked to see how we were doing. We had to give them the password but everything seemed to be good then. Every time we needed them, they've been there.

    I purchased the home monitoring for burglars from Vivint because we don't have a home phone in our house anymore. We have cellphones and this is one way that if you couldn't talk, you can get to the system and activate it and I’m very satisfied with the service. The sales representatives were down to earth, used plain text and didn't try to be all superior and knowledgeable. The installation team came in, did a good job, didn’t make a mess, cleaned up whatever trash they created and was on their way. I had to call a couple of times for technical support. They solved my problems very efficiently and they were very helpful and knowledgeable. The last one I came in contact with was amazing. He took care of the situation and it was great. Vivint is a very reputable company, centered on customer service.

    Monitoring

    I've had my service since December 2012. So far we've paid a total of $2,799.44. Pros: Excellent Security System and Monitoring Service. Cons: Cancelling Service. I cancelled my service because I've found a much better way of monitoring my home. The problem that I had was cancelling my service - they offered $5; then $8 and then $10 off my monthly bill. I told them that I wasn't interested and wanted my service cancelled. The CSR MGR said that my service began 25th of each month so another month would be charged to my credit card. I wanted my service cancelled on the day that I submitted, in writing, that they acknowledge receiving on July 31st.

    December 2012 - 42 Month Service Agreement at $49.99 per month. Currently on Month-to-Month at $49.99 per month. Requested Cancellation on July 31, 2017.

    Vivint Acknowledge Cancellation but will not cancel the service until September 24th. I had expected them to cancel our service by August 24th, the day before they charge our credit card account. They would have cancelled the service by August 24th if they had received notice by July 25th. I cannot recommend any company that is not willing to cancel service at a reasonable notice.

    On July 12th I cancelled the meeting with the salesman. On July 14th, he came anyway and convinced me to get the service. It was great to have your service until today August 2nd, when it was turned off because the salesman failed to notify the cancellation department that I agreed to the service (that is the explanation given by your cancellation department) which doesn't make sense because my alarm was activated 2 days after the cancellation so someone dropped the ball. I am now without security/protection for my home until at least 2 days from now. This is not acceptable to a woman who stays alone at night. I am possibly now going to cancel and you can come and retrieve your equipment if someone can't activate my service today.

    Initially, I wanted the outside camera but when the person came to install, they gave me inside cameras. So I sent them back. The installation team was nice but it was disappointing. They said they only offer indoor cameras but the salesperson told me they have everything that I wanted. And it was the initial reason why I went with Vivint at that time and I felt like they told me that just to get a sale. They couldn’t do anything because they didn’t offer outdoor cameras at that time. I've had the Vivint alarm system for a few years now and it does the job but their monitoring fees are a little high. Also, recently my alarm had gone off a couple of times. There was a thunderstorm, I wasn’t home and Vivint couldn’t do anything about it. Then the city where I live charged me for the false alarm and Vivint didn't seem very helpful when I called them about it.

    We looked at security systems online and researched a bunch of different options. We were looking for one that had some integration with our mobile phones, so we could control it remotely and also the ability to have cameras connected to it. We got Vivint early spring so we haven't even had it a year and it's been pretty good. Sales went smoothly and being there was nothing really unexpected. We knew what we were getting into based off of everything that we researched on the website. The installation was great and the representative that came and did the install was very polite and thorough in explaining everything and working with us, making sure all the items were installed how and where we wanted them to.

    We even had an issue with the doorbell camera since I have an older home so we didn't have electrical wiring for a doorbell. We had a battery-powered one and he offered to come back and do the install later if we decided to have the electrical done. I did and had an electrician come out, had the wiring put in and he came back and installed the camera with no additional charge for coming the second time so, we really appreciated it. But we had a couple of times where the system has reached out to us unexpectedly. Also, if there's activity out the front door, the camera takes quite some time to view the recorded footage from when there's been activity on the camera if you try to access it right away versus like waiting a few minutes.

    There's also a long delay on the mobile app to arm and disarm the system, like if I'm at my front door and I want to disarm it with my phone before I walk in so that the console would let me when I walk in my house. But I'm standing there for about a minute while the app tells me it's working on deactivating the system so I'm having some signal issues when I’m almost within range of the Wi-Fi. Also, the pricing is a little bit higher than some other options especially if all they need is the camera and not necessarily interested in the monitoring but we wanted the monitoring and I'd still recommend it.

    I first heard Vivint through a family member. I have the thermostat control, window sensors, fire, four cameras with the doorbell camera included, the monitoring app that can monitor everything, and lock them. The app is pretty good but the service had its ups and downs. We've had to call the service techs out more than I would have had liked to cover minor issues with the door lock not locking when you send the code. I had already called to have the kicker plate fixed for the door over a month now, and they still have not been out to fix it so it is really frustrating. I haven't really worried about it because I figured they should have called back.

    The company did not show that they value a customer's home. Technician had problem installing the alarm. And one day uninstall what he install nothing was cleaned up.     Somebody broke in the house and trashed it. I had surgery and I was having a bad back even before my husband passed. I left one afternoon and when I came back the next day, the house was completely turned upside down. My children wanted me to sell the house and leave but I have too many memories here. I was not ready to do that yet. My son said I need to go back and get Vivint because he’s been using them for years and he’s been happy. I have the camera and connections on the door, ring doors, motion detectors and the glass breaker. I’m very satisfied. I can leave home and check what’s going on.

    I was out of the country the other day and I could still see what was going on at my house. Except I have not been able to access the camera at all times. And especially at night, I get awakened and I'm a little bit antsy and I want to see what’s happening at the front. I can put on Vivint live and see what’s going on with the night because that works. But if I want to look back at something, let’s say what happened at 1:00, I can’t do that because it cuts off. In the evening by 9:00, it's off. Rarely am I able to see at 2:00. With technology, sometimes things happen. I would love to be able to turn on the app and see the front door and the range by the camera every time I wanted.

    Angelo, the sales representative, was excellent and he explained everything well. He was very professional, courteous and he said if there is any problem, I can always call back. I understood what was going on and he got the technician to come out. When there were a couple of snags, the technician was able to call in and the person at the office walked through and connected the thing that had not been put on the program. He also left windows from the program. It’s a good thing he decided to check before leaving me. I needed to call back and they walked him through and he was able to get it done.

    The installation team had to come out more than once. The first person came out because I was having problem, then somebody else came out and I had to call Comcast because I have everything else with them except my security. And the technician was terribly short tempered with the Comcast guy after they hung up on me. What Vivint wanted to change, Comcast explained to me that anybody could come into my page. But I don’t have the page, I’m not technology savvy. Anybody couldn’t hack my program and they were saying they’re not doing that because this is what it used to be. I'm not too happy with the comment of the person from Vivint that I’m not a top executive or somebody so no one would want to hack my program. I'm a normal citizen, but that was not called for. However, I’ve learned to choose so, I need to go by.

    He was the only one I was not happy with. The other people, I’ve been happy with because I’ve had problems over the time, they have been very professional, helpful and did what had to be done. I had to call when the lock didn't work with the camera in the front door. He wanted me to open the door to go outside to do that. I told him that at midnight, I will not be opening the door and going outside. So, I had to leave it that night as it was because I have two locks on the door. And then the next day, somebody came and corrected the situation. Every technician can’t come overnight but they’ll come the next day. When the technician was walking me through with the keypad and with what was going on, I told her I’m ready to get my job with Vivint as a qualified technician because she walked me through it and I was able to do whatever to solve the problem. I felt really good.

    I’ve heard of other people with other security companies but I wouldn’t change Vivint. Before, I had to stop with Vivint because I couldn’t afford it. Things went bad and my husband had stage four cancer so it got really rough. I didn’t do it because I just want to sit back and spend the money everywhere because everybody lacks security. But I came back to Vivint and I would definitely tell anybody about them. I’m very happy with the plan I have with them. I am as secure as can be with technology. I feel very safe, I can call up anytime and get the response. I have something to make me feel comfortable and I know that somebody cares.

    I have the doorbell camera, two thermostats, an indoor camera and the glass break motion with my Vivint service package. But their service is not so satisfactory. I've had an issue with the system since it's been installed and they've had to come out several times to fix it. As a matter of fact, it stopped working again. The push pads to the door to unlock it stopped working and right now, it says, "loss of communication". Also, the indoor camera is currently not working at all. These happened at least five times since I got Vivint a couple of months ago and they don't know why.

    The crime rate in my area has gone up for burglary. So, we wanted something there for our family. I've got cameras and some window breaks amongst some other things from Vivint. Their service had been excellent so far. The sales reps have all been helpful and gave me any information I need. If they didn't know, they would find somebody that did as fast as they could. The guy that came to install the system was very helpful. He didn't mind that I had dogs in the house and kids running amok, so that was nice. Overall, Vivint put my mind at ease with home security and they're affordable.

From the sales team that manipulates on the necessity of home security to screwing up and supposedly "Scheduling a technician for work when he was given the day off." Also lies about documenting notes that were not documented; in addition to the fact, if you want to cancel during the "ROR" you are under contract and will be required to buy the service anyway. An absolute ripoff. Buy your own cameras and do not use this company. I was referred by a family from a small town where you actually matter and people are courteous of your time and their service and integrity. Vivint is not.

    I have had Vivint for less than a month now & so far it's been TERRIBLE! The main panel freezes or disconnects it's 2-3 times a week having to be rebooted. (I have very high speed internet) My cameras go on & offline whenever they want. The doorbell camera hardly detects motion in front of it! My drive way camera only pick up motion here & there! The list could go on!

    On July 3 Shaun ** from Vivint came to my door and wanted to tell me about the Vivint SmartHome alarm system. I'm a retired police officer and was an ADT customer for 23 years and not interested in changing alarm systems and skeptical about a product I had never heard of. Shaun and I talked about the system and it sounded interesting, but I told him I would want to talk about it with my wife. Shaun came back the next day, July 4 and that day he was able to have our ADT equipment converted to Vivint, installed new keypad door locks and a new thermostat. Within 1 week of trying the new system we cancelled ADT. We love being able to control the house temperature from our phones, check if our doors are locked, turn on lights and see if our garage door is open.

    Today we experienced the quick response to a fire alarm by a pizza that started burning in the oven. I just smelled the smoke and a notification appeared that a fire was detected and Vivint would be contacting me. A calm, friendly voice instantly spoke and asked if we needed the fire department. I told her we didn't that we just burnt a pizza. I was impressed by the fact that when I got the notification all our doors unlocked and air conditioner turned off automatically. A great safety feature. By changing to Vivint we are saving money on our monitoring and have the convenience and peace of mind that our home is safe. I would recommend Vivint SmartHome and Shaun ** to anyone!

    Someone from Vivint came to our house. He's not just a salesperson, he's someone higher up in ranking. He was really nice and he showed us his home and how the system works at his house. He showed us on his phone how he could see what's going on in his house if he was not around. That helped us better connect on how we can use it. He not only told us what he can offer us but also what everybody else was offering. He mentioned the differences, similarities of the service and what we would get more. We were with ADT at the time and although we’re paying the same amount, Vivint offered us so much more so it made it easier for us to make that decision. The installers were very nice, very professional, in and out faster than I thought they would be. They installed the inside camera and the doorbell camera, too.

    Now, I can check on my phone to see what’s going on outside my house as well as inside my house whenever we have a baby sitter. We have small children now but we’re thinking ahead of time. If they ever have to come home and we’re not there, we can know that they’re coming in, when they’re coming in, what they’re doing and who’s coming in with them. When they become teenagers, it would be nice to check in on them and sneak a peek, too. Also, knowing that our home and family are safe, not having to run home to make sure who's ringing the doorbell or did my daughter come to the door. It gives us a peace of mind and that way we won't have to worry so much. It's priceless and it’s worth the money.

    The sales reps from Vivint were very good. We got their standard package with doorbell cameras and a camera on the garage. Their service has been good so far. We've had a couple of alarms go off. A cat set an alarm off in the basement today. Animals weren't supposed to set the motion detector off, but the cat probably played around and upset the setting. We also had a smoke alarm that went off ridiculously for several times on just a spill in the oven. It wasn’t a fire but it was a whole bunch of smoke because something was burning. So the alarm system did what it was supposed to do. We tested it and it works well. I would recommend Vivint to others. Overall, I'm very satisfied and happy as a clam.

    I was running out the door when the Vivint sales rep came in. I scheduled him to come back a couple of days later and he was awesome. He also followed up right after we got things set-up. I got the Nest system and I have the automatic door locks on the back, fire and carbon monoxide monitoring then the control panel.     I have 2 different service packages with Vivint based on the necessity of the 2 houses. Vivint is not a bad company but they need tweaking. Their sales rep and installation team were all good and the technicians are also knowledgeable. But, their filing system is screwed up so making changes with Vivint is not the easiest thing to do. The cameras I initially had in my home in Philadelphia were horrible and multiple technicians came out yet couldn’t find out the problem. I changed internet services, bought expanders for them, did whatever they asked me to do and it cost me money but still, the cameras didn’t work. They were blaming the internet for it but I didn’t believe it and lo and behold, it wasn’t so I was frustrated. Overall, they shouldn’t offer software and other things if they're not compatible or they can’t repair.

    Vivint is expensive and have terrible service! I don't know how they can stay in business. It took them almost a month to try and install their security system and communicating with them was worse than talking to the IRS if you can believe that! They made little, if any effort, to try and make it up and they lost a good customer. I am writing this review to let others know that there are much better options - VIVINT is a terrible home security company. Go somewhere else is my advice.

    My mother has Vivint and I also got them based on her satisfaction with the services provided by the company. My initial interaction with the service representative that I signed up with was good. However, the installation had been a little wacky. There were some configuration issues where I wasn’t able to use any of the equipment up until a month and a half after the initial installation. My A/C was hooked up incorrectly and the garage controller wasn’t compatible with my door, so it never worked. Then it took two different technicians to finally get my thermostat working and just to get the garage door removed. Although they did a pretty good job and they were accommodating, I just wish it had been fixed a little sooner. But once the installation was resolved, I haven’t had any issues otherwise. I have a sense of security and my phone is set up now with remote control. It has had a positive impact on my electricity bills too. So, it was all in a free install.

    My Vivint package has the regular door sensors, a garage door sensor and then I have one outdoor camera. I have kids so anytime a door opens that they could be going outside, I like to have that feature for the doors. And then, the outdoor camera is for security because I don’t want people to come in or near my house. It allows me to see and it’s a gift for those few other neighbors who don’t have cameras.

    I moved to Tennessee and moved back here to Alaska. The rep for this area has been so busy instead of calling him directly, I had to call the Vivint number to set up an appointment with him because he would never get back to me even though he said, “Hey, if you need anything just call me in my cell.” It took me a little bit to get it when I moved back in my garage door since it wasn’t working. I had to reschedule to get that fixed and but overall, the service has been okay. I would recommend them to a friend. They’re one of the better security systems out there that are well known and a lot of people use them.

    Signed up with these clowns 30 days ago. They made the equipment they were selling to me appealing so I took a chance and switched to Vivint... Never again. Had nothing but problems, cameras didn't work... Locked out of my house twice... Had techs in a bunch of times... Was told to upgrade Internet to fix the problem with cameras... did that and it cost more now and still doesn't work. Finally called and said remove your junk... but they want to keep their hands in my pockets so they won't remove and close the contract. Said they would take my cameras but continue to monitor my property...

    If that's the case I would never have switched companies as United Alarm did that flawlessly for 4 years. Options are... buy out the equipment that (doesn't work) or see if a friend will take it or family? Like I want to pass this garbage down to people I know lol. I do not want these people in my house and I do not want their crap on my property. All I want is to go back to United Alarm. I hate the idea of these people having me stuck in a plan with garbage that doesn't work. I will never deal with these people again after this contract is up. We will go back to United... They screwed me the minute they walked through my door. I'm disgusted with the set up... and disgusted with Vivint. Do yourselves a favor and learn from my mistake... Steer clear of Vivint... United has far better service... I will be telling everyone I meet to not buy from them. Forgot to mention that their product chews through our monthly data plan... and we have a huge data plan.

    Vivint is very professional, courteous, and did everything they said they would do. One of their guys had stopped by our home two years ago and now we have 2 accounts with them because we have them on both of our 2 homes. The sales reps were great and our service packages include the live monitor cameras, doorbell cameras, and more of the basic stuff at the other house. That way, we would be able to sometimes monitor things when we are away from the home. We're very satisfied with the service so far but I can't keep the system online with my phone. Most of the time, it breaks offline and has problems getting back online or connected to my phone again. I called about it but I didn't get it taken care of. I should have called back but because I drive a truck for a living, it's hard for me to do it. It's not Vivint's fault though. It's more of my end.

    I used to have AT&T and I didn’t like them. So I was googling alarm companies and I liked that Vivint was able to do the video cameras and the doorbell non-wired. The sales reps and the installers were very good too. The sales reps answered all of the questions and concerns that I had. And although the installers weren’t able to insert the window charms because it was a brand-new house and the builder installed another alarm company, they gave us something else.     I was trying to replace the current alarm company that I had because they lied to me for the most part. I only had a few months left on my contract and Vivint paid that off and then they offered me this package with free stuff like concert tickets. The sales rep was fine during the sale but we never heard from them again after we purchased the package. I thought he would at least call to see how the thing was working.

    The installation was quick and they did a good job but there's one little concern. They inherited some of the wired sensors from my old system so to me they own all that stuff and if something breaks I should get a replacement especially if it's just a little sensor that I have to pay for. But they want to charge me $60 for it and that's ridiculous.

    Also I'd like to see the main board be a little more interactive especially since it's wireless and not through the internet. Instead of just putting up the weather in a static form it could be a little bit more here's the radar, it moves. But I would recommend Vivint to a friend. I always do. Vivint is doing a far better job compared to the previous system. I purchased their service package which included the main unit, camera, doorbell and all the windows, the glass breakage and smoke alarms. We're getting ready to move so I may get some updates as far as adding some more equipment on.

I explained that I don't mind paying for the upgrade but I can't afford to pay upfront, so I asked about paying over time which 2 of my friends do.     Five years ago I purchased a Vivint system for a previous home. 4 years living in the home, we sold it. Upon selling, I called Vivint to find out about the system and how I should handle. They told me I could transfer to the new homeowners (if they wanted it) or have it moved to my new address. The new owners decided they did not want to take on the new system and I made another call to Vivint about our move. That move entailed our living in an apartment for a year and at the time Vivint was not in area and apartment complex would not approve equipment install. I called Vivint several times to again try and work something out, nothing from Vivint on trying to help "make it work." Meantime I also worked with apartment to have partial equipment installed so I could pay out the remaining 9 months on agreement.

    Called Vivint with this info. It took Vivint 3 months to find an installer from another state to come hook it up. During this time they did suspend payments, but kept adding months to my "contract." It was a "shoddy" install at best. The equipment always malfunctioned and upon calling customer service to find out why we were told by them that our equipment was outdated and perhaps we should upgrade. Adding more months and fees, we declined. (again, still in a temporary place) According to agreement, if Vivint was not in area I could suspend monthly payments until such time as I moved to a "possible" area where Vivint would be and have it re-installed (yet this adds "months" onto your agreement).

    Fast forward many calls, many months later (7 months to be exact), we move to another city and again, Vivint is not in area (at the time 2014) and our current insurance company stated that our security system must be patched directly to a 911 call center. Not an outsourced call center for discounts offered. So again, I could not use Vivint. I sent letters, emails and made phone calls, with a final letter being sent certified (3.2015) outlining my chronological dealings with the company because my initial plights fell on deaf ears trying to show Vivint where I felt as if we had fulfilled our agreement, I even went so far as to paying for 3 months I could not use or did not use the service to satisfy "the agreement."

    I never heard back from anyone at Vivint. Until, wait for it... Yes, my credit report, 2 years later. There has been no contact from Vivint at all to this point. The only thing negative on my report is this "delinquency." I'm disheartened by the lack of follow up, follow through and certainly by the nonchalant way they do business and needless to say would never recommend them to anyone.

    The salesman Otto promised the world - then also promised a 30 day cancellation - I had a few issues and when I called to share my concerns - I never received a return call - I opted to use my 30 day cancellation - and the company says that it is a 3 day cancellation policy - they call Otto who lies and says he never promised me this. Now I'm stuck with a company who does not return phone calls and does not honor its salesman's word.

    I live in a rough area because my wife doesn't want to move. Our house is almost paid for, so we couldn't move to a better neighborhood or a gated community but I live officially five blocks from my parents, which I don't want to leave. They're getting old. I almost paid almost $10000 for a custom made alarm system and I'm glad I didn't. That's when I went with Vivint. A salesman showed up at my house. He was a young kid and he's very nice and cordial. I told him, "I need this and this and I don't have to pay more than this." We purchased everything with the service package. He called the supervisor and we made some arrangement. They're a lot cheaper and it's been working out so good.

    The first guy that came was absolutely excellent. But one thing that I did not like is that the second technicians did not want to run wires through the walls. I called the supervisor and they approved to do the work through the walls. Also, I had a couple of technicians come out, help each other out and they finally got it done except for one camera. I submitted that to a guy whom I know does the 12 volts system and I asked him to give me about 10 feet to the cable so I can put it through the walls in my house. They took it in to my house and it was perfect. I was logged in with no problems.

    The outside cameras always see movement at the front of my house, at my front door and the side. There's always some kind of movement, so they're always recording things. But I am having a little trouble with one camera that's not recording. I wish the cameras were better quality. I don't mind paying for better quality cameras.

    These cameras are okay and they already caught a crime in an accident. The police came to my house that day and the camera caught it but when we zoom in, we can't see very good details of the face. We need either a 4K or at least 1080p camera. Also, the volume that we speak back to the doorbell is not even as good as the ring when people doorbell. When I'm in the bathroom or bedroom, I'd say "Hello, who's there?" And then sometimes I wouldn't even look, I just hit the button to activate it and start talking. I can hear them but they can't hear me. I also just got back from vacation and I don't think one of the cameras was recording to the hard drive. So maybe the hard drive is saturated already. But overall, the service is excellent and I'd recommend them.

Then, I've also made service calls with things that have not been working.     We were already considering a home security system when Vivint reps did a door-to-door solicitation and made a presentation. However, there were some questions that I had that the sales rep was not fully familiar with, like the difference between when arming and leaving or arming and staying. He was talking about the motion sensors and he mentioned that if you have a dog or you're gonna stay home, it’ll set the motion sensor off. I talked to the installation guy and he was very familiar with the product. He said that when you set it to "Arming Staying", it deactivates those sensors and that makes sense.

    Initially, it was also a little bit of a struggle and the system wasn't working. But I was able to contact the sales rep and he had a technician come out that same evening and they corrected the issue. I’ve also called a couple times for some issues with the panel that needed the update and they were very quick to respond and answer. They were very polite, courteous and helpful. Plus, being able to access and control the system anywhere at any time is great as well.

    Our Vivint package included a doorbell camera, cameras out back, a new thermostat, a system that can open and close our door with the keypad, which is nice, and the phone which we can use too. It's nice to have the camera and the fact that I can store the pictures in the Cloud so we can see who comes to the front. I also like the way Vivint set the temperature in the house which seems to work quite well and it's a little easier system to use than the Affluent system we had.

    And if we're not tired of their system, we didn't have to sign a five-year contract, which is nice. Their keypad here in the house is more advanced, so that was nice too. Some of these things that we do, we could get from other companies but they probably wanted more money, but I never checked.

    Their sales rep knows what he's talking about however, the installation staff got here at 9:00 PM, which to me was a bit high pressure, and they stayed until midnight. They shouldn’t be in the house when the day is done. If I were to do it again, I would specify that they should be out by eight o'clock at night and be done with their work. Overall, my experience with Vivint was reasonably good. We called back and the tech did come back. There were a few adjustments in some of the things and the system probably won't work as good because of the distance from the keypad to the door, or from the main pad to the door. And sometimes the lock and unlock don't work quite the way they are. The service has been reasonable up to now although sometimes it's not working quite the way it's supposed to, but it's getting better.

    Vivint overcharged our bank account $1,085.00 on 6/12/17 and again charged us on 6/16/17. We have been told since 6/14/2017 that our money would be refunded within 3-5 business days. It is now 7/25/17 and our money has yet to be refunded! We have spoken to over 10 Reps, and Supervisors. First it was "We see the error." Then it was "We don't owe you a refund," and now it's "We can't see what you paid. We need your bank statements!" What! How can you charge someone, and not be able to see what, and how it was paid!?! Customer Service Reps saying "WHAT and "Nah" Just horrible!! Every call taking over an hour yet we still don't have our refund. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Beyond incompetent!!

    We were sold under high pressure conditions to sign up for the 3 year contract for a security system. They rushed the install immediately after the contract was signed late that night and screwed up a number of things, including missing some window sensors agreed to and input the account number wrong. The year since we signed up has been ongoing issues including Vivint trying to charge 20 dollars for NSF fees due to them not inputting our account number correctly. The last straw was when they tried to charge me 49 dollars for a service visit when their main control panel suddenly failed and could not get it working again over the phone. The only thing this company cares about is separating you from your money. Terrible company. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    At first I got solar installed through Vivint in my old neighborhood in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey. When I sold that home and moved, I tried to get solar again but the section in town that I'm in has a lot of trees, so Vivint couldn't design a system for solar. But then I went ahead and got them for an alarm system. Currently, I have three accounts with them for my two business offices and my home. For the most part, I have been a very happy customer for the last six years with the exceptions of three times where my old system at the house needed to be revamped with new technology. I went for a month or so without the home being monitored and it took a long time for them to come out and get me back up. But since two months ago, everything's been working pretty well.

    My interactions with the reps and the technicians have always been very pleasant, too. There are two techs that I've become friends with so I usually I request them to come out when I need their service and I’ve never had a problem with them not doing what they're supposed to do. I also constantly refer Vivint to all my friends and family members. They have one of the best technologies out there. The app for the iPhone and the alarm panels, which are all touchscreen and in color, are great. Even their cameras have gotten a lot better which was a complaint I had in the past.

    The system was installed on 8 July 2017 and 24 hours later we received our first notification saying that the transmitter battery is low. We, unplug the transmitter wait a couple of minutes and plug the unit back in. The green light comes on and we are good for another 24 hours. Yes it gives a fault every 24 hours like clockwork. Then we get an automated phone call and one of the options is to press zero to be connected to a customer service rep, but the number is no longer in service. I called the phone number on the panel and the only time a technician can check the system is during the week and not after 6 when we would be home. We work during the week which I find strange since they first wanted to install it on 1 July 2017 (Canada day holiday) and then it was installed on a Saturday and now it cannot be checked on a Saturday. We like some of the features of this system, but if it does not work then you might as well come and take it back.

    We were with a different service provider that was really bad. Vivint sales reps came to our door and helped us get out of from the other provider and go with them. We went with their smart locks then, afterwards, we had ordered the surveillance cameras when those came out. The installers came, and they were not able to set them up because we were in the middle of a rental. So they came back a few weeks later and connected them but there was an issue with our Wi-Fi. They would not work so we tried to return them but they refused and said that there are no returns.

    So I paid $400 for an upgrade that went in the garbage and I was choked about that. Then they came out again last year and I had mentioned it to one of the guys. He said that if we have one of the old cameras, there's a recall on them and they can give us a new one. So we looked and found one of them, so we got one new camera that actually worked and we've had Vivint for five or six years now. But overall, they're pretty good.

    Within days of the extremely shoddy installation, our system was giving errors - at one point it wouldn't STOP audibly indicating there was a problem until we disconnected the entire system with the help of telephone support. The next day a more qualified technician "fixed" the problem. Within days, it's back to showing errors, cameras offline (3 of which come and go, one of which pretty much always stays offline), periodically the system shows that all batteries are low- none of which are reporting to the panel, and it's constantly chiming, AND the sky panel now just loses connection.

    The guy who came to my door nearly daily for weeks until we agreed to this system - is now not reachable. And I have a 5 year contract and thousands of dollars financed - so what's the recourse now since this didn't happen within the 72 hour ROR period? Couldn't be more disappointed with this system, furious at the cost, and without security protection in my home the majority of the time now.

    I was with another home security provider for over ten years. When I upgraded my system to include cameras and remote accessibility, everything went south. I had to use two separate apps and the connection would have to be reset constantly.     I got the doorbell camera from Vivint and an app on my phone where I can check our visitors. We’re currently renting a house, so I didn’t want to go overboard with the security system. The system we have shines on the areas that we needed to highlight, like the front and where our cars are at. The guy who set me up was very knowledgeable. He showed me the ins and outs, how to work things if something happens, and what we could do. Also, the installer was nice and helpful. He showed me everything and explained to me about the wiring of the house because I didn’t have a doorbell. He also told me what they would have to do if I want to get another camera added. He cleaned up after finishing too. Because I have a keypad on the door, he put back the original lock back in the box. He also told me what I need to do and who I need to contact if I move.

    When the control panel on the wall was self-rebooting, I contacted customer care but I didn’t get a lot of good feedback on what I should do as far as troubleshooting. They offered to send a tech out to see what was going on, but I was just trying to get some information because it scared me. If it's been rebooting like that while I'm at work, then my house isn't being covered. That's the only issue that I've had within the last week—trying to get information without having to get a tech to come out because I am at work and so is my husband. Since it’s technology, the system is going to have some glitches. Other than that, it’s very easy to work with. I love that I can see my home from my phone wherever I'm at. Because I have the keypad, I don’t have to give my sons a key. That’s convenient for me as a mom. I can also see them entering the house, so I know when they come home.

    Vivint's salespeople came to my door and they went through the whole system and discussed everything. Then they said I should have a camera by the door and another camera looking at the exterior yard. I told them I'm okay with that and to go ahead with the three cameras we discussed. But the rep said he could only put in one because there was a shortage of cameras and they were gonna come back in a month, in June, and put in the other two cameras.

    It was very good until I found out what really went on. June came and went, and they never came back. I phoned them and nobody seemed to know anything about it. Then the rep said he'll have somebody else install two more cameras and when I asked him to tell me a little more, he said, "Oh, we'll have to charge you." The system works fine with the one camera but I suppose you get a lot better with the two extra cameras, which I thought I’d paid for.

    They even took the lock off the door and put their locks on it and be damned if I can find the keys for them. There’s definitely a key for the front door lock and I’ve seen the guy had him in his hands. They were laying on the little dividers in there. There are about six other ones there from the original lock and I tried them all but none of them fit. So, I don’t know what happened to those keys but I never got a hold of them. The keys are minor but I’m a little PO’d about those cameras. It’s a nice little sales scam and I will be cancelling my monitoring with those guys. I had not gotten any satisfaction out of it.

    The Vivint rep came to my door and knew that I had a security system with somebody else, and he offered different packages towards their service. He had the system with him and he showed me his live feed of his front door and that he can arm and disarm his house from whenever he is. It was an interactive system where the only interaction in most of these alarm systems is if somebody's in the house. Those were the features that drew me in. I got the cameras, the smoke and freeze detectors and all the different sensors that I never had with my other system. I like the doorbell camera and being able to see whoever comes up. We've had one kid do a Nicky nine door on us and we found out who he was. Every once in a while the app drops out but other than that I'm pleased overall. I did a garage build and they came out promptly to put on a camera system on the outside so I can see if anybody's coming up to my garage.

    The installers were very knowledgeable and down to earth. They weren't trying to belittle any of the customers. We all knew what we wanted and they were very knowledgeable to help out and accompany how I wanted my system for my house. Being in the electrical division of automotive, I've got particular ways of doing things and they were right on cue with everything that I would have done so I was happy. I was more impressed with the way they did this install than the previous people we were with. That was absolutely horrible because they would put a panel on the side of the wall and put a telephone wire hanging from it down to the receptacle plug. They didn't even tidy it up and make an attempt to hide the wires. They slapped it on and out the door and got to their next call.

    But I never got that feeling with the installers from Vivint. They made sure that I was happy and knew how to use the system before they left. They work out their bugs and they work with the customers and they seem to be prompt even when I'm following up on the phone. They've got somebody there and they're quick on the phone. Also, their vehicles are professional. I had people once that was going to put a new furnace and an HVAC system in my house and they showed up in a plain Jane white mini-van and trying to rip me off for $20,000.

    However, Vivint's turnarounds to get to another call is a little bit slow. They need a little more staff within certain areas that they are to keep the product and the services up. I've been trying to get other people to come in to the system but it's hard because Vivint seems to be short staffed in trying to get these people to come and install. Overall, the Vivint security system seems to be fairly decent quality. The product pieces that they've got seem to be right on queue. They don't go to the bargain bin RadioShack and buy in their crappiest stuff to put on their system. They've got products there that I can trust. I use the light dimmer module quite a bit to turn up and down my lights in my home theater. It's a great feature and I can do it from my phone.

    I was working on a budget and I was trying to figure out what I wanted included in the system and what I didn’t want to include. I called the sales reps back and forth at least three or four times, adding and taking things off. They were not only professional but easygoing and they made the experience extremely pleasant. The installers were out as promised. They were prompt and got the job done. They were extremely courteous and professional. When we first started, I was on a $49 package. While the tech was out here, he explained to me that they may have messed up and that I should be receiving a $39 package. So I called Vivint and they explained that I was 100% correct and without me even asking, gave me a $25 credit towards the mistake. They not only fixed my bill, but they also credited me just because they made the mistake on their end.

    I got the windows and door alarms. I also have glass break sensors and fire sensors. The door locks are hooked into the application and I’ll enter the code so they’re quick-set, automated door locks. I have the Smart Home Thermostat as well. I like the Smart Home functionalities where I'm able to have the door locks, thermostat and the application itself remotely accessed from my phone. Overall, I've had an excellent experience with Vivint and they've been truly phenomenal.

    My Vivint package includes door and window sensors, the panels and two cameras. The only thing we didn't like was our doorbell camera that doesn't reach the street. We had in our neighborhood a string of break-ins recently and our camera never picked it up, so we paid all this extra money per month for the equipment and it didn't even catch someone stealing things that are at our mailbox that night. We had someone come out to the house to service it and we're told that if the camera doesn't reach us, we’d have to purchase a new camera for $300. Part of the reason we wanted Vivint was for this doorbell camera and it doesn't do what we want. Now, we're stuck in a five-year contract where our only option is to either pay to get out of it or purchase the $300 camera. Overall, I like the service but we weren’t really given what we were told we are going to get.

    My Husband and I got a Vivint security system the weekend we moved into our new home from a door to door salesman... He was fine and we kept it for over 5 years. We recently decided to cancel as their service is very expensive and we would rather deal with a local business. So we cancelled no problem and said our service will end in 30 days and no more payment will be take out of our chequing account. Fast forward 30 days and the payment comes out so we call and ask for it to be refunded when we are told multiple times that we have not fulfilled our 42 month (3.5 year) contract and that's why the payment was taken. When we pointed out that we are well over our contracts 42 months and asked them to do the math they still couldn't figure it out and by the 4th person we talked to they did eventually agree that yes - we deserve a refund on that and will have it deposited back into our account within 10 business days...

    Waited 2 weeks for that refund until we called back again and got the same runaround... it's like this is what they tell everyone no matter what. Long story short my husband talked to someone who said that the refund hasn't been issued and that they have talked to someone in the proper department and we will see that credited back to us within 5 days (this person was going to see that it was expedited). Waited 2 weeks... no refund. Called again. Same story but this time they were going to put it back on a credit card that I had not been using for years and cancelled... I asked why and they said that's how the payments have been coming out and I quickly told them that no they have clearly not been.

    After a while they said they will issue a cheque and expedite it again so we will see it in our mailbox in 10 days... waited 2 weeks no cheque. Fast forward a couple more phone calls later (we in total made 7 calls and were told essentially the same thing each time). I called again today wondering where my refund is... it still HAS NOT been issued. I spoke with a manager who emailed a department to check where the refund is and while I was waiting for a response with him he started to tell me the notes that the other 7 people I've talked to have made and they were FULL OF LIES... the first one said specifically NOT to refund the amount.

    The second 2 said that we think we're out of our contract but we aren't (which we went through OVER THE PHONE WITH THESE PEOPLE and they agreed that we were out of our 42 month contract). One said that our chequing account was closed which I also discussed and NO our credit card has been closed. They had been taking payments out of the chequing account for probably 2 years at least. I was VERY SPECIFIC when telling these people these things... I was on the phone for 40 minutes and was told that I have to phone back mid next week to get my answer. It's been 8 phone calls and 3 months and I still don't have my refund.

    DO NOT BY ANY MEANS USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE THIEVES. Their customer service people are very nice and make you think they are going to help you out and they have no intention of doing so. I will make my 9th phone call into this company in 3 business days and see if I will finally get my refund... my guess is no. Enjoy my 80 bucks Vivint. You're a terrible company with poorly trained employees.

    I live alone and I have a teenage son, so I have to spy sometimes. I had a Vivint camera outside and I was supposed to get another camera but their reps told me that I can get that later. I also have the doorbell, two thermostats and an inside camera that’s portable which I can move anywhere as long as it’s plugged in. The service has been good so far although I’ve had some hiccups when I signed up. I asked how I could get a white Echo and they said I could call back and tell them and they would send it back out. So I was waiting on that but when I called about it, the guy said they don't do that. And, my thermostat wasn’t working properly, it’s not cooling the way that it is supposed to cool. So, I called Vivint about it. And when I called my heating and air-conditioning company, they told me that I needed a new thermostat. So I said, I’ll just put the other thermostat back on here.

    Their sales representative was great and their installation team was great too. One guy had to call two or three more people in but the experience was good, fast and efficient. Vivint system is very easy to use and it's easy to find out what’s going on in our home. I’ve been recommending them. In fact, my sister is now looking into them.

Salesperson with a person training was very brassy, spoke over top of me when I was telling him I am not interested. Continued to let me know how my system is inferior to yours, how I need a police permit which I already know. Our conversation ended with when our door gets kicked in you will contacting us (Vivint) for your system and it will cost a lot more. Not professional, not polite and very pushy. I will never try your product.

    We had ADT before and we were not happy with them. It was a good timing that my wife saw an advertisement for Vivint. We just replaced what we had with ADT with that of Vivint's. Those are the features for the doors, windows, and magnets. We're considering a lot more, like the keypad thing and cameras, but our house is already under surveillance. I bought a system that I also used in Denmark, so I'm not crazy about having a secondary system.

    The installers were nice, polite and efficient. They were out of the door fast and my wife was happy with them. One of the things we liked was we could adjust the AC and heat over the app. However, mine is only partly working and my wife had issues getting hers to work. So, she called in this morning and tried to get it fixed. Apparently, the software on the wall unit touchpad was not updated. Now that it’s up-to-date with the software and apps, we're happy with it. It's modern, whereas ADT seemed very old-fashioned and a pain in the tooty.

    I got the door and window sensors from Vivint. I also have the cameras inside and outside and I tried to put the door lock but it doesn't work. These features are nice and I feel comfortable when I travel. When I call customer service, they answer quick but sometimes it takes 45 minutes to wait on the phone. And then I had one experience with one of the customer service representatives. He had the attitude and I made a complaint that time. He told me to go online and find the information. When I called them, these reps don't see anything. I asked them about the features of the outside camera and how it works in the winter but I didn't get the information.

    We had the first installer in 2010 and then another one came in 2-3 years later for three months. He was here January until March. The installers are very respectful, they do what I ask them for and they try to help and explain. When we call customer support or the technician and talk to anybody it's good but that one guy was challenging and disrespectful when I talked to him.

    The house already had a system in it but it was outdated so we brought Vivint in and updated. Crime in the Valley has gotten progressively closer so we got it just in case. I’ve got a doorbell and a backyard camera as well as door and window sensors. The service has been fair so far and the security system has been okay. However, I had a little issue with the company itself on something as simple as a sign. Over the wintertime, my yard sign was buried and then smashed in a snowdrift during snow removal. So I called customer service and I asked them if they could put me in touch with a local representative that I could meet somewhere and pick up a little yard sign, but they said they would mail it out. I waited and waited but it didn’t come.

    So I finally called back and at that point, they were all apologetic and said they were gonna upgrade it to a lighted sign as their way of saying sorry. It still took me two months at least and I never even got the lighted sign. Just promises made and never kept is all that amounts to. When they finally got it mailed to me, it was one of the little plastic yard signs and it had something to do with the fact that I have a post office box.

    They do things a little differently up here in Alaska. We don’t have a mailman who comes around to your house. We have what I call a bank of ghetto boxes up at the end of the block which is not very secure in my mind, or you have the option of going to a UPS store to get a Post Office box, which is what I do. But because of that fact, my mailing address is different than my physical address. So there were all kinds of issues with them mailing something to an address that wasn’t listed on their contract as where the system was installed.

    The installation team, on the other hand, was fantastic. They came in, did their thing, ran through the basics of the panel with me and were gone in no time. Everything went fine. As a matter of fact, they were a little early but that’s fine. There was no interruption of my schedule. However, I get notifications an awful lot on my front doorbell. I had looked at the 30-second video and a moth flies through my front entry way there and then it trips the camera. It’s pretty sensitive and I’m impressed with the system that way. It’s really good there but by the other token, with my backyard camera, my dog can walk around back there and it doesn’t set it off at all so I’m not sure on the settings of the camera. It hasn't been an issue yet but in the future, I may call for technical support on the panel as I’m not real clear on setting the parameters on the cameras.

    Vivint was doing a walk-through in our neighborhood. Aubrey, the sales rep, was a very nice young lady, very approachable and easy to talk to. I wasn't intimidated to let somebody in my house, not knowing what they were or anything like that. She really convinced me that I needed the service. The installers came by the next day and got me all setup. We had a few hiccups but they were able to resolve the issues that I had. I had an issue with an outlet not working, so they had to go a different direction for the camera. They did a really great job. They also kept my house neat, cleaned up after themselves, and were pleasant while they were there. Even though it was so late, they were still polite.

    I talked to one of the guys that installed it because I just had a question on a few features. He picked up and advised me on how to get through it or what I needed. I didn't have to wait to go through an automated system or get a callback. He was just very helpful and it was very prompt service. It's been making me feel secure and I haven't had any issues. It's also neat to be able to be at work and then the doorbell rings for mail and I can talk to somebody if I need to. That's the biggest thing that I like about the service is that I have the ability to watch the security cameras on my phone. Everything went pretty smoothly and if I had a question, I could call and they would simply walk me right through it. I'm completely happy with it and I've recommended it to a couple of friends.

    I have had a similar experience as many have while moving. I was specifically told by the installer when he knocked on my door (mistake #1) that if I moved during my contract that my contract would in essence end and I would not have to pay any more. He stated that this is a risk that Vivint takes but they are always confident that the new buyer will want to use the equipment and service so they take that chance. Well now that I am moving I discovered that is not the truth. They are wanting me to pay the remainder of the agreement. I did not get the installers statement in writing (mistake #2) as he explained it was standard policy so I believed him (mistake #3).

    They simply refuse to do anything and only reference section 21 of the agreement. Their legal team original said section 20 but corrected it later to 21 (not a lot of confidence in their abilities either). I will never do business with them and will no longer recommend their service no matter how unique and functional it was for me. My new system does most everything I need with the large overhead. So they are wanting me to pay for something that I no longer have or use while I pay for a different service. I never would have committed had I known this was their ploy all along. Buyer beware!!

I've had a couple of issues with some equipment that was placed in there that didn't work and the service I got afterward regarding that wasn't very good.     A Vivint salesman came to our door and talked with us, and we decided to check them out. We got the doorbell plus a camera for the three doors on the inside and a motion sensor in the house. However, the system didn’t work. They checked it out including the fire alarm and they weren’t working except the doorbell itself. We called them and tried to get people down here but it was like talking to the television. I kept the service close to nine months or a year and finally, I just pulled it all down then put it in a box. I sent them a registered letter that they have to sign when they get it and told them that we couldn’t put up with it and no longer going to pay the bill unless they fixed it. I didn’t hear a thing from them until about six to eight weeks when some lady called and we told her what the deal was and she said that they haven’t received the letter. But the post office makes them sign for it so I don’t know why they said that they didn’t receive it.

    I also told the lady that I had the equipment sitting on my steps at home and all ready to go but she refused and said it’s my equipment. They never got it fixed so I wound up cancelling it. The installation team also claimed they hooked everything up all right but we had people all around us that went with them that had the same problem. I hoped they would return my money back because their system wasn’t worth a damn. I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody.

    The salesman seems to have overpromised and under-delivered. He told us that we would see all kinds of savings in our energy bill and that we would be able to get at least $10/month off of our homeowner's insurance premium. Neither of those selling points have proven to be true. The installation was also problematic. The technician had to return twice to complete the installation process because it was taking too long and we had to leave before it was finished, twice. Furthermore, the system has been buggy: the app frequently doesn't connect with the system, the doorbell camera stopped recording after about a week, and now the doorbell doesn't ring inside at all. Disappointed all around.

    I’ve had Vivint a little over four years now and it has a lot of good qualities. I have cameras from them which I like and it's one of the reasons why I went with them. Their service was fine and their technicians were very nice. However, now a lot of different companies do the same service for a lot less. In addition, I wasn't allowed to make any changes or I would forfeit the deal that I had. At the end of four years, I called them to see if there’s a way to negotiate down my price because the first four years included all the equipment.     Some neighbor down the street stopped by my place and recommended Vivint. We have the door, camera, and some of the windows. The installers were awesome but I have to reset the camera every 30 days or more which I should never have to do. I had to do that three or four times and sometimes it jumps off the slammer. Someone could have messed with the camera on the front porch and it fell off. The screw came out and it fell out of it. They sent out a serviceman out to screw it but it broke when he put it up. He had to come put another screw in it. I wrote down the way that they told me how to reboot it so I can do it myself and they don't have to send out a service person. That's worth $49 or something to have somebody to come out and reboot it. I haven't done it in two months or so, so it has been holding off good this time.

    I’ve known about Vivint for a long time. I actually wanted it a year ago, but their guy never got back to me. He said he was busy with a client. Then, he was going around the neighborhood giving everybody different prices. He told me that he gave my neighbor a deal of $85 a month but my neighbor told me he didn't receive such deal. That rep also told me that he can give me a discount because they'd install all systems on the block at the same time, but he didn't show up or answered my calls. He was just lying through his teeth to everybody. Another neighbor told me they had him come back for the contract and then all of a sudden his price excelled to twice as much as it should be from what he said it would be.

    But the rep who came out and whom we bought the system from was knowledgeable and courteous. If he didn’t know what was up, he would find out pretty quick. We got their house and garage security. There have been some break-ins happening in Moose Jaw so I thought it would be a good idea to have it. Their installer was knowledgeable with his recommendations as to what to do and what not to do. He talked me through where the glass breaker and motion detectors should be. We have pets, so we had the motion detectors in the basement and in the garage. They were aimed so that the projection would be higher than a small pet would trip the alarm.

    So far I’m pretty satisfied. The only quirk that I’m finding is lots of times when I arm the house with my phone, I end up getting a message back saying, “House did not arm.” Yet I look and it's armed. I also get "House did not disarm" and I look at my phone status and it says it's disarmed. I don’t know whether to trust it or not because sometimes I get the message, and I am 10 minutes away from home. I also don't like that the board emits a lot of light. We put it in the upper hallway and when we sleep with our door open, it lights up the whole room. I like to sleep in a darker room and if there was a way to dim or turn the light off, I would. But overall, I would recommend them.

    I have the inside monitoring from Vivint. I had AT&T and I just wanted an upgrade. I wish I had gotten the doorbell camera and keypad when they were offering it for free at the time. Right now I want it but can't afford to pay for it. The sales rep was very knowledgeable because when he came to put in the features and he was telling me about the door, I told him that I don’t need it and I don’t want it. But then I accidentally locked myself out of my house and if I had the keypad all I would have had to do is just punch in instead of having to call a locksmith. That is why I regret not taking it. He tried his best to convince me to take it but I was adamant not to because I have never locked myself out. I've been living here for X, Y, Z amount of years and I never did, but that one day came that I did.

    A couple of days ago my keypad froze and I was in the process of going somewhere. I called and it took less than three minutes for the representative to unfreeze it for me. That worked out very fine for me. So far, I'm very satisfied with their service. I like that it doesn’t require me to have a home phone so I like that feature.     We have Vivint Solar and then there was this fellow who came and started talking about Vivint Home Security, same name, same logo, but they didn't indicate that it was a different company at all. He went through this list of things, and one of the things on the list is a $50 off my solar bill for having Vivint Home Security. At that time, I thought it was all the same company and I didn't know he was saying something he couldn't possibly guarantee. So fortunately for me, this guy actually wrote it down on a piece of paper. The installers showed up and put the stuff in but they forgot the control for the fire alarm, so I had to make another appointment and wait another week for them to come back and put that in.

    I had a standard service without the thermostat control because we're at home all the time, and I also didn't need the door camera since I can feel the door from the kitchen and there is an open area. We had it in for six weeks or so, and then we got the bill for the home security, but there was no discount for the solar. So I started calling up and found out that the companies aren't all connected. I first called the guy up and he said he meant that using the automatic thermostat control could save us up to $50, which was a total baloney because there’d been an estimate and that estimate is not valid for us because we’re retired. The rep knew that we were in the house all day and that we’re retired and he never said that before. So, he blew me off with his excuse. I called the company and the people there weren't ready to do anything about it. They just made their apologies and said that we had signed the contract so we're hooked up for five years.

    A friend of mine who's a lawyer told me to contact corporate, which I did. I sent an email and they responded very well, and the fellow there supported what I was talking about because I sent him a copy of the piece of paper that says $50 discount on solar in the sales rep's handwriting. So, corporate had no choice and they had to cancel the contract. Then he set up a time for them to come and take the stuff out and they never showed up. I have an email printed out specifically saying that the contract has been canceled and I will not pay anything. So I don’t care if this stuff rots in here or if they ever take it out. Overall, there's nothing really wrong with their company, but their sales rep is a lying jerk. They should fire him.

    In my neighborhood, there must be seven houses using Vivint. The guy that markets the product has been to the house and I've talked to him before. He was a very nice guy and he knew pretty much about it. At 8:00 at night, the installers were in my house putting up the system. That was within half an hour after the guy came to my house. The cost was a little more than I was expecting but everything seems to work okay. I got cameras and one of those key fob things which I put on a key ring. But the keys were pushing against it and it kept triggering in my pocket without me knowing it. So I took it off and now it's just lying there gathering dust on my dresser.

    With the old alarm company I used, I had a problem. They put up a glass break sensor in the house and my Japanese dog that has a high pitched voice caused at least one faulty alarm every month. I called them but they said there was nothing they could do. But now with Vivint, I don’t have that problem. I also discovered something that’s really convenient. I bought myself an Apple watch. It's a terrific little device and there's a Vivint app for the watch. I can arm and disarm from a distance wherever I want to be. I live in Pensacola, Florida and my wife took a trip to Washington State once and her watch went off 3,000 miles away. She called me and asked who's at our front door. The doorbell alarm went off and so I went out there and it was the mailman. It was terrific. Not only does it go off, it also shows you what's going on. Overall, I've had an easy experience with Vivint.

    We purchased Vivint for our home in May of 2015. We were very clear that we would likely be moving in the next 6-9 months. We were assured that the move wouldn't be a problem and our service would move with us. We sold our house in October 2015 and called to review what we needed to do to transfer service. We were told that we would need to remove all the equipment and bring it with us. That's not what we were told originally. We had already sold the house with a security system as an attribute, so we couldn't take it with us. Our new house wasn't ready yet, so we stayed with family, still paying for a service we were no longer using.

    We finally moved into our new house and called about adding service. We were told since we left our system at the old house we would have to pay for the new equipment at full price. Luckily my sister-in-law was moving in with us and we were able to transfer the account to her (that solved the equipment problem). Everything was fine until a year later when we received a bill for over $200 for installation (which we already paid) and for 2 months of service. We had been paying every month for 2 years with automatic deduction from my bank account so there had been no payment interruption. It took roughly 4 hours on the phone over a couple of days to "resolve' the issue". Apparently we were still being charged for our old address and they were saying we weren't paying at the new address (which doesn't make sense because we'd been here for a year and they were only charging us for 2 months??).

    Anyway... we spoke to several people and finally got it "resolved". Received a new bill yesterday for 2 months of service (installation cost had been removed) and I still had money pulled from my bank account for the June payment. So in summary... we were "mislead" about how moving worked and are continuing to be asked to double pay for this service. Between the moving calls and the billing problems, we have spent well over 10 hours on the phone trying to resolve issues from Vivint. I wish we never changed from ADT, this experience has been awful...

    I have had the Vivint Alarm system installed for less than 3 months and I began to initially experience problems probably within less than a week. I begin to notice that around the same time everyday my flood sensor would be falsely. I called Vivint and reported the problem that I was having and it wasn't until the 3rd or fourth complaint did they actually replace the sensor. Since then I have had problems with the motion detector, the cameras, and the door bell. I have repeatedly requested to be let out of my contract but they refuse to do so saying I did not cancel within the first three days. I believe the company should make an exception to the rule since my system appears to be faulty. Please let me know how do I get out of my contract without paying for it every month and return the alarm system.

    I'm satisfied with the actual service from Vivint. I like the doorbell, the camera on the doorbell and that I can do everything from my phone. I needed those features because I have little ones. However, I have not been satisfied with the billing. They quoted me at $39.99 plus the equipment and I got charged $49.99 for three months. Also, I was told I would get a month free because I just paid my other bill and I didn't get that. I've been talking to the one who sold it to us for the last two months and he's still trying to fix all that. He said it will hopefully be taken care of the following week. Other than that, our experience has been good overall.

    We bought a house and there was a Vivint system in it. We tried another one when we moved in because Vivint was too expensive. Although the other one was cheaper, half the price of Vivint, we hated it, and we ended up switching back. My husband is an IT security specialist. He couldn’t put his own system in, but he actually likes Vivint better. He likes that it monitors and that it calls the police if the alarm goes off. The guy who came here and installed the system was so respectful. He was right on time and walked me through on how to do everything and showed me some stuff that even my husband didn’t know.     We have Vivint for our home alarm and the service is awesome. The sales rep was excellent and he answered every single question. We did the deal on the spot. However, I wish the price was lower. It’s expensive but it’s good. And one of the best things is that I can adjust the thermostat from my desk at work. I can log in and if the kids left the house and left the air on 60 degrees, I can raise it up. I do not have to worry about it running for the whole day. So, that’s convenient.     Vivint: Cold, calculating and blaming. Bought home with Vivint system already installed. 1st call to customer service was five departments, three different prices, and 45 minutes of transfers. I accepted Vivint's phone promises and set up a date for installation. A Vivint local service tech called me, per policy, with estimate of installation time for following day. He discussed upcoming install but quoted wrong equipment "fire, carbon.." and I said, "no, am a single lady, what I asked for was break-in... not the fire/carbon... I already have my own - what I want is protection from break-in". Well, that got involved...

    Then techs called and rescheduled. They did their thing, it didn't seemed involved or take long, briefed me on panel but there was no offer of or walk-thru on equipment, I paid over five hundred dollars for equipment, up front, no contract. Less than three weeks later, just moved in, find two south window sensors don't work. I had house power washed and tried windows. First time to clean. Alarm was on but did not alert. I called Vivint in a serious of dismissive and what appears to be a well-groomed team of "denial, denial, denial... It's all you baby... Read the contract..." One fellow (Robert?) told me that I had to pay for my broken equipment because it was 'in the contract'.

    After lowering my blood pressure and after the call ended I remembered that I don't have a contract. I paid cash for equipment to avoid contract. Answer by rote, page seven must have applied to his answer to me. He didn't even look to see if I had a contract? "Tighten it up, Vivint!" You mighta left a 'out' for the cornered-in customer there. So answers for this less-than-three weeks into the contract and crazy-busy moving lady included: "you signed contract" (which I did not), "you broke sensors, a bunch of wires unconnected" ...uuuhhh where did THAT come from?

    "We can send someone over Next Week but you go ahead and pay your fee, even though we, who say we want to protect you, are NOT protecting you." THE Plot Thickens: So THEN I go check OTHER WINDOWS and they do not appear to have sensors or any detection. UHHHMMM... I got this system to have FULL PROTECTION, not just protection on two sides of the house. I was VERY clear on phone order and when techs were out here that I wanted protection in all areas of my home. They said I was "all covered" and I took them at their word.

    My complaint is the treatment I received on each phone call til, after about six calls this afternoon elevated the call to a supervisor. The supervisor, Steven, says now, "oh yah, I can get this 'fixed' by getting two free and, get this, pay for two more and get one free..." SO MORE MONEY... for a system that was supposed to be paid in full. I mean seriously... where is logic on me paying sensors for 'some windows' but not others on a one level home???

    It appeared lies and disregard on every level and I ended up saying "thank you" as they bent me over and are going to get two more fees for sensors after telling me I was all covered. Nicely done Vivint... Psychologists on staff? Or just soul-less customer (un)care? Crime Time podcasts will love this share :) You know... The ones who recommend "Safe Smart"? Yeah, that OTHER affordable company.

    The police had been called on my neighbor a couple of times. He kinda scared me a little bit. He didn’t do anything to me other than the words though. He also has five pit bulls and one of the dogs broke my arm about three months ago. When one of the Vivint guys came up, I was already thinking about the security system and he talked me into it.

    As I enter my front door and I put my security code in, it automatically turns off the arm feature. It's convenient and I love it. But if somebody’s pointing a gun to your head and says, “Put your security code in,” it shouldn't really turn off the alarm. If you're already in the door and the alarm is disabled, he can do whatever he wants. I didn’t realize this until I lost my house keys in my car the other day and I was like, “Oh, it turns it off?” But if I use my key, it won’t turn off the security code. I suggest as a little independent consumer that whether you use your security code or your door key, you should have to disable your alarm because somebody could come up behind you. They have a better chance if you’re using your using your code. Vivint should also look into this.

    Other than that, the guys at Vivint made it really easy. They have a great system of getting in touch with you and if you hit the alarm by accident, they’re right there. They talk to you and walk you through when you’ve done something stupid like I do all the time. I would recommend Vivint and give others my experiences.

    System hasn't worked since it was installed June 13, 2017. Multiple phone calls to Vivint support (nearly two hours yesterday), along with three visits by tech support, NOW they want a tech visit to replace cameras, but they have nobody available for over a week. Would not recommend Vivint at this point. Majority of time the cameras have not detected people going in and out of house, or car movements in driveway and garage. Cameras started strobing after recent update to 3.9. Buying a $250 Space Monkey from them has been their recommendation. Noticeable lack of communication within company. Tech visit two days ago perfect example - he didn't have specific information why he was there. Disappointed and tired of the days and hours of my time spent on system that doesn't work.

All the equipment he showed me said is free installation free. Don't have to pay anything, which I knew was bull. There was something involved. He says all the equipment and installation and everything is free.

    Says, "Yeah we're doing homes in the area trying to get people by just agreeing to putting sign out in yard for 5 years. It attracts more business so we do 5 houses in the neighborhood for free." I kept asking him. I said, "There has to be a monthly monitoring. There's no way it's completely free." "No it's completely free," he says. Anyways I said, "Let me see the contract." Wanted me to sign a contract without telling me and get stuck for 5 years at $39.99. Plus there was even charges for equipment, **. Most companies like ADT etc are 2 year contracts with free installation and equipment. Beware of this company going around people's houses.

    My interaction with Vivint's rep was good. I had the doorbell camera and a garage camera included in the package I purchased from Vivint. He said that they were so busy that they couldn’t add any more cameras at that time. They could schedule somebody to come back out later on in the year to do it, so that wasn’t a good thing.

    The installation was not that clean and professional-looking. I have a half a million dollar house and when they put the keypad in, he needed to drill a hole in the wall. He put a little bit of bathroom calk over it. It was that type of deal. The salesman said that if they had to make holes, they'll put putty over it and sand it. And I said that that’s not how to fix a hole in a wall. The guy was here so late. He left until close to 1:00 in the morning. So I ended up fixing it myself. Other than that, the only problem I have with the service is the front door lock, sometimes it doesn’t work. But overall, I'm satisfied.

    Vivint was on my street about a couple of years ago but I wasn’t ready for them. When my contract expired with Slomin's, I decided to go with Vivint. I like the automation feature and the part that I could turn it on and off on my phone. I could use those two features. I worked with their sales representative Gideon and he was very good and helpful. I contacted him to provide the services for me. He was able to answer my questions too. The installer was knowledgeable as well. He was able to explain to me how I could download the app and how I could use it. However, I didn't know that Vivint could install security on the windows. I found out that they do after the guy had done the installation. With Slomin's, I did have the security on the windows which I like and find more secure. So, I have to wait until I can afford to upgrade and get the windows secured.

    There was a young man in my block who was walking around offering the service from Vivint. One of my neighbors told him to speak to me. He was very patient with me because I am not too good with technical appliances so he went over how to use the machine and that same day, I signed up. I had a previous alarm and he removed it with no issues. I called him on two occasions because I was a little confused with the doorknob that you have to enter the password to get in the house. I was not sure if the alarm was activated or not when I enter the password. He went over everything with me step-by-step and told me that if I need him, it doesn’t matter if he's not in the neighborhood. He gave me his number and I could call him for whatever information I needed from him.

    I got the door camera because in the neighborhood at that time, there were a lot of kids coming from another neighborhood or block. So, I wanted to see the activity that was going on surrounding my house. The inside camera allows me to see how the dog is doing when I'm not in the house. I also got the thermostat and a portable camera that I can shift around in the different areas of the house. I see the convenience when I'm not in the house and I would know when someone is going to my house. My greatest accomplishment with the security system is being in my work, opening the door and telling UPS to drop the package inside. I love that. The guy asked if I was sure and I told him that I could see him and to put the package in. The system is one of the best investments I ever did in many years and I'm loving the service.

    We have Vivint's control panel, a doorbell camera, glass break sensors, motion detector and four door sensors. The guy that installed the alarm was nice but he was in a hurry and from where he pulled the cord through the wall, the sheetrock was chipped. Some of the door facings are scratched, where he took a big knife or a tool and marked into the woodwork so he could see where to drill. So, the sheetrock is cracked and the doors are marked on the outside of the door facing, which they shouldn't be marked. If you should put a sensor on the door, it should just be a sensor on the door, not a mark on the outside of it. He left and said he would bring by a sign the next day and he didn't. That took about three weeks to get that in the mail. We had to call a second time to get the sign sent to us, which shouldn't have had to happen because we already called once and requested it. We were told twice that it would happen and it didn't. So, that was not ideal.

    We're satisfied with the service but I'm concerned that we need more on the windows as far as contact on the windows and additional cameras outside. The one camera we have is the doorbell camera but there's not a camera on the other side of the house, where the other doors are. So, we're in the dark on that.

    I had a security system before with a local company. It was outdated, the monitoring wasn't very good and we were having issues with them. So I checked all the ratings of the Vivint system and the price comparability was really good. The rating online for their general service was better than what I was using and the cost difference to get my local provider to give me the same kind of system was double. The sales rep was awesome and he did everything he said he was going to do and more. He said he was going to come by in the week after it was all set up to see how we liked it. Also, the installer was really good. He was super informative, answers any questions, let me know how everything works, very expedient in his installation of all the equipment and got it all done.

    I got the regular security, the windows, door locks, glass break sensor, smoke alarm and a camera with the touch pad screen that's next to the internet. The monitor is really good. We've also had a couple of little hiccups from people watching the house while we're gone and they didn't handle it really good. Right after we got our system, our doorbell broke and it took them longer than they said it was going to have to come and fix it. The salesman handled it himself properly and he did a really good job.

    It was the service after that that seems to be tardy. They said they were going to be there at a certain time and I had to wait an extra week. Although compared to our local services, they're a lot better. Then, right after we got it fixed, the doorbell broke again within a short period of time and when they did the update, the internet connectivity wasn't that great. But overall, it's good. It's a lot better than the system I had before and we're really happy with the way out of it because it's easy to use and with how they change things. We also like the remote access a lot. I've been talking with my neighbors a little bit with that because I can talk to the microphone when they're doing yard work. I'm very satisfied and I'd recommend to anybody to use them.

    Vivint representatives knocked on the door, asked me if they could sit and talk to me about security systems. They were very polite but at first, I said no because we have many local security systems in Edmonton. I could not afford them and couldn’t commit myself. I was very restrained that I wasn't open to their conversation. I wasn't rude. But I was politely telling them my time. They said they understood but they had a promotion. And after listening, if I still didn't want it and want them to leave, they’d be okay. They wouldn't push the product or service. All they wanted me to do was listen to their promotion and 20 minutes of my time. I let the two boys into my house and let them sit down. And they explained and talked about their promotion.

    I gave them my name, phone number and address. They asked me to sign the terms and conditions. I signed it and they went away. And then they made an appointment for somebody to come and put the pad. They put one upstairs and one in the basement. Then they put the sensors and they went away. My people in Canada asked me, “We have very good security systems in Canada in Edmonton. Why would you go far away to US, and give the business to them?” I can't explain why I did what I did. But those boys came across very sincere and genuine. I wanted to give them a chance and see what they will do. Since then, I have been their customer. What impressed me the most was, even though their people are so far away in Utah and I'm in Edmonton, despite the time difference, every time I run into some difficulty and sometimes I wasn't even here, Vivint monitored my system.

    All the girls and the boys responded to my calls at different times. Nobody was rude nor ignorant. They all knew what they were doing. They all spoke to me very politely and respectably. They listened well. Vivint has not disappointed me. I went to many people to promote their business locally. When they're buying houses and when they're moving. I keep telling them that Vivint is a good company even though they are in Utah. One time, I was having financial difficulties. I called a loyalty group to defer my payments. I can't even pay them. They told me not to worry and that they will give me breathing time until I recover from my financial situation. They are very thoughtful, competent, respectable and alert.

    Vivint is very good. They will look after me. I have small grandchildren. When I put them in the room and then I fall asleep, I don't have to worry if there is an intruder or fire or some bad thing happening. Vivint will take care of me. That hope and that faith I have in their company. They’re building new houses and development in Edmonton. People keep asking me if I know of any good security system. I keep on telling them about Vivint. I can't force people and tell them to go to Vivint. But I'm passing on the information. I am happy with the company. Their people are knowledgeable, caring and they know what they are doing. Their employees have been good to me. As long as I'm alive and as long as I'm in Canada, I will be their customer. The company and their people have integrity. I have faith in what they do.

    Vivint's sales rep was good and helpful. He told us everything about each product really well and made us get more. We purchased a service package that has the doorbell, the camera, the outside camera, five door sensors and seven window sensors. We also got the motion sensor in the living room, the glass break sensor and the smoke alarm sensor. During installation, it's a little bit of a spaz but the tech was very good at getting it done right. He talked very rapidly and almost like he has ADD but everything worked out well. It took us some time to understand what he was trying to tell us about but we got to understand everything in the end. The outside cameras and the thermostat sensors were good. The only problem we had was with the doorbell. It went online and offline. I called once and reset it but it continued to do that. It worked out really well for us so it's definitely a thing we refer other people.

    We purchased a home that already had a Vivint system. The previous had setup the temperature controls that were too hot. We keep trying to change it but the system overrides us. Contacted Vivint and no one can help either because they can't find the property in the system or they need the contract owner's authorization. Funny how those tow things are dead opposite of each other. I said I was willing to evaluate the system but first I wanted to turn the A/C down (107 F outside). They refused due to policy. I explained to them that they don't have a contract with me and I am the owner of the home therefore they should not maintain control of the system. Again they said policy! That seems highly illegal. In order to take this any further they will have to contact the old owner and then I will have to figure out when that happens and then call them back and go through everything again.

    Meanwhile, both Vivint and the owner have access to the cameras and controls in my home. I might have been a customer but now it will all be ripped out tonight. Watch out consumers. Turns out that a service company can hold your new home hostage and it's their policy not to talk to you about it but you get to call them back several times if you like.

    My experience with Vivint has been one of stress, with a service that doesn't work properly, and sleepless nights, with my husband being laid off and Vivint not wanting to differ services. From the first they lied, the last guy that came in said the window alarms weren't made for the kind of window we have, and to activate the windows we needed to peel them off and put them somewhere else on the window. So eventually the sticky pads will wear, so our only other solution is to install a window breaking sensor of some kind. O and O the camera? The whole reason you even considered us, doesn't work outside. And the phone call I made to see if instead of getting a thermostat, as you just put a new one in, we could get you another camera, was a lie too. But that is ok cause I lied about them. They don't work OUTSIDE. This company sucks.

    A door-to-door sales rep from Vivint knocked on my door and sold me on their system. The tech came 20 minutes later and put the device in. I got the package that included a fire alarm, smoke alarm, motion detector, doorbell and a sensor on the other door. I'm satisfied with the service, though I get a lot of notifications and part of it is due to how my place is set up. The wind blows a tree in my yard and then I get a notification. A car drives by on the street, and I also get a notification. But I just ignore most of it and overall, I like Vivint's system.

    My system was disarmed this morning @ 0516 while I was in my home. I was completely shocked that someone could do this w/o touching my panel or having access to my key fob. I called technical support and one of the reps basically blamed me and told me that maybe I pressed the button on the fob. I explained that my keys were in the next room and I was the only one in my home. The rep really didn't seem to care about someone disarming my system from the outside. I can't believe that I had to ask to see maybe if they could trace it. I wouldn't recommend this company! I know that most alarms can be hacked but someone from this company should be more concerned about their products!

    My dad had Vivint. We also recently had something stolen from outside of our vehicle. So, we wanted some type of security. We got Vivint and used their doorbell camera, the panel, and an extra outside camera. The sales representatives helped make the process even much easier.     On June 28, 2017 was our installation. The installation took 2 days! - Over 10hours total. For just one camera, doorbell camera, 2 smart thermostats, and control panel. The install was 2hours late, cut both of my internet lines and blow out a fuse in my house at 10 at night. My husband had to go out at 10 pm and find a new fuse so our A/C would work. June in Texas, you NEED your A/C. He left my house at 1am and still wasn't finished!!! Then had to return the next day to finish installing the camera, which took over 3 hours. The installer just kept talking about his personal life during all of this! Maybe if he paid more attention to his job he wouldn't have made so many mistakes.

    The internet tech showed us how the bright blue internet cable that the installer cut. When the installer came back, we told him what the internet tech said. The installer just shrugged and said, "Oh." I called Vivint customer service to file a complaint, no one has got back to me yet! Then today I was checking my bank account and there was $200 charge that I DID NOT authorize. I called customer service again, found out they charged me for something that I purchased at the store with my credit card, so they double charged me. So I had to report an unauthorized charge to my bank, change my card and now have to contact all the other companies I had authorize automatic charges and give my new number to. All this in less than 10 days of the install, I am ready for them to come get their system. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced!

I spent 1.5 hours on the phone trying to change the accounts for 3301 and 3303 St. Claude to business accounts under the name New Orleans Vacation Rental Management with myself listed as the property manager. I was shuffled to various departments and had to complete and submit paperwork. Kresha ** followed up and said I had not completed the paperwork properly. When I asked her for clarity she was non-responsive from June 29 - July 5th. When she finally got back to me it was a runaround response and my request remains incomplete.     I was charged a fee which Vivint called it a Guardsman fee for a false alarm that never happened. Vivint said it was charged to me from my city police department for a false alarm but oddly enough my city alarm department does not show a false alarm and the local police department said that they do not know what guardsmen service they are talking about. They said they did not charge me anything and if they had it would have been charged through the city. I have spent days and hours talking to Vivint with no resolution and no reverse fee. I am currently in the process of talking to other alarms companies have these hidden "guardsman fees". Has anyone experienced anything like this?

    Since becoming a Vivint customer on 6/22/17 I've experienced two (2) major errors in the system setup and billing. 1. When connection the system, the salesman Dylan ** incorrectly entered/relayed the wrong information to the system installed which, at first installed... I had three (3) windows covered/alarmed, and nothing else. So I went from a totally secure house with ADT to a house with three (3) windows secured. 2. When signing up for Vivint, still being a ADT customer Dylan ** printed up a short cancellation note from me to ADT and had me sign. Assuring me that this is how cancellations are done to ADT. That was 6/22/17.

    On 7/3/17 ADT took the auto pay out of our account for the period 7/5/17 - 8/5/17. I called ADT explained and cancelled, would have done so if I knew it was going to be a hassle and an extra expense. I then called Dylan **, he assured me that I would receive a Vivint credit for the period of time ADT is continuing to charge me. That's nice but I shouldn't have been put in a situation I had to correct twice. Unsecured house/overpayment ADT. The Vivint installer is a trooper. 5 stars to Nick **. He was courteous, kind, professional and left the work areas as clean as they were when he started.

    Vivint's sales reps were good as well as the installation team. The tech stayed late at night just to finish everything in a day. We had a problem though. The panel was not connected so we called them and the person who installed went back immediately. The special features included in our service package were the pink camera, the doorbell with camera, the break glass alarms and the app. We have kids so we decided that we needed those features. I like the app but I like the pink camera the most. But sometimes, I can't hear the pink camera from my phone. They can hear me but I can't hear them and the sound is really choppy. However, Vivint has served their purpose and we are satisfied.

    Vivint has decent products. We got the camera on the doorbell, motion sensors, and window break sensors. We got the window breaks because Vivint can't put motion sensors in the main part of the house since we have a cat that runs around. The sales representative of Vivint was friendly and knowledgeable with the system, as well. The installer came the next day, had the system installed and did it properly, too. Also, the mobile app is nice and handy. However, they have poor tech support. They're happy to put stuff in so we can start paying them but they're not happy to fix it.

    We've had an issue with the volume on the main control unit and it's been a few months but that hasn't been resolved. The only resolution they told us was there's an upgrade available, but the upgrade causes more problems so we haven't done it. And then, they said they can give us a $15 discount for 1 month. But we're unhappy about that because we're paying for a system $60 a month, it's not working properly, and it hasn't been resolved. And $15 for a month is an insulting offer.

My wife's a little hesitant about it, but I'm pretty electronically literate. The installer took his time walking us through and he asked me if I'd like to walk it through my wife again. If he had to explain it again, he would. That was a very nice touch. He said I could call him directly if I have any questions.     Was interested in buying a system earlier in the year, but put it off. Has a salesperson come by the house, selling Vivint so I talked to him about getting the system. After a long discussion, he said the price would be $60 total, and the equipment was free because we were "advertising" for Vivint by putting up a sign in the yard. Also, if we weren't happy with the system within 30 days, we could cancel and they would take the system out. I agreed that, as long as it wasn't higher than $60, we would sign the contract.

    The next day we were billed $22.71 for the equipment and 54.49 for the Vivint service. I called the sales rep and he said he will take care of it and the cost would only be $60. The next day I called Vivint to see if it was taken care of and they said I signed a contract at that would be the cost. I called the rep again, and he said that he will talk to them, but to give him a couple of days to get it straightened out. I agreed. After a few days, tried calling the rep but he didn't answer my calls. Called Vivint and they said that it was past the 3 DAYS cancellation period and I was stuck with the contract. I told them I was lied to by their sales rep on BOTH the 30 day cancellation period and the amount! They were not interested in hearing anything I had to say, so now I need to take other steps to get this resolved! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH VIVINT!

    I have had NOTHING but problems with the system. I can't turn it on (use the security system) b/c it randomly goes off in the middle of the night for no reason. My children beg me not to use it. The cameras don't work half of the time, and I can't get it to connect to WIFI. It hasn't been connected for months b/c I can't get it to connect. I called and they wouldn't give me a discount, or let me cancel my account. This company is TERRIBLE!! When they came in to set up the system it took the technician DAYS, and wouldn't leave until 11 pm at night. We even bought him dinner when he was here. I am so upset, and tired of dealing with this company. I want to be out but I can't be. They won't even give me a credit or anything. TERRIBLE Service. DON'T DO IT!

    We got Vivint as we liked the idea of being able to have a bit more control over the thermostat which was the only thing that I cared about other than being able to control the system over the app. The sales rep was good. In fact, the very first day we got the system installed, he had come back out-of-town to help us because it wasn’t set up right. It was really hot at that time and our AC was not working. He stayed with us until a tech was gonna come into the area to fix it.

    The installation guy was good as a person but it may have been that he talked a little too much and wasn't paying attention to some of the things he was doing. Our experience with Vivint was rocky for a number of months because he did not install anything correctly. In every single time that we were out-of-town, the app would tell me that my door was open. And I would try to use the camera to see if my door was actually open or if it had been open, but the camera never worked through the app. I never could get into it. It wasn’t logging anything and it was never working.

    We had at least six technician visits and a technician had said that the guy put the camera in the wrong place that's why I can't see who’s approaching the house. The camera is facing my doorknob. They were supposed to move the camera and they never did so it's kind of useless. We were frustrated because we had referred two other people who signed up to Vivint's service. They had the same problem and that made me look bad. We have not been happy with Vivint. We just don’t wanna go through all the trouble of undoing it at this point.

    I had ADT on my previous home then a referral from a friend led me to switch over to Vivint. I already had a thermostat so I just did the panel and doorbell with them. The rep I initially talked with via the phone as well as the person who came to do the installation were both good. But I have to figure out some things on the doorbell. I don't know if the volume is not working or there's something on it that I don't know how to set up. I have to call Vivint and talk to support about it but I keep postponing then I forget.     I was with another provider and was having issues with them. I was looking for something that was better and found out about Vivint online. I got the doorbell, the smoke alarm, the thermostat, and the sensors on my windows and doors. I have been looking for something like those features for a while, but I had not made up my mind because of the price. I finally decided that I'm gonna do it and called Vivint's main branch. The service was not really good though. It took a lot of time for them to respond. I asked a lot of questions as I was trying to make up my mind on who I was gonna go with and the interaction with the sales rep was very positive nevertheless.

    I was impressed with the installation team, too. They were awesome and very professional. But one thing I didn't like about Vivint was that I had 72 hours to decide if I wanted to stay with them or not. And if something would happen a week after I've gotten it, I'd be hooked for three years and a half. I consider that illegal. The only legality was that Vivint made me sign a document and once I signed it, I was stuck with them.

    Except for the 72 hours things, I would recommend Vivint for the service which I'm happy with. I have talked to other people who are here in the neighborhood and they are satisfied with Vivint, too. The reason why I'm staying with Vivint was I had some issues with the devices not operating properly and the crew here in Baton Rouge is exceptional. I have never had a better customer service in my whole life in any service that I have ever had than this. If I have issues, I call them and they will take care of it. It doesn’t matter if it is a Sunday or a holiday, they will respond right away. They have me on direct contact and I appreciate that.

    Vivint's sales reps approached me one evening and we decided to go ahead with them. People were in town installing so they were there within the hour and installed the program, all the hardware. The people who installed everything were very professional. There was a couple of them there and they wandered about and did their thing. One of the salesmen was training me on the system and they were gone probably within an hour.

    We’ve got the security package, one doorbell, three doors and window closers on the garage, a water, floodwater and CO2 warning from Vivint. We're also excited with the furnace. We got all these features since we like to go on holidays. This way, we can monitor the house while we’re gone. Otherwise, we have to have somebody coming in and we didn’t have somebody reliable that we wanted to bother and have that person come in every couple of days for insurance purposes. So far, we’ve been doing all right. I had to adjust the sensitivity of that doorbell camera because it was giving us too many false alarms. I got a hold of Vivint on the internet, they gave me instructions to tune it down and everything seems to be working now.

    The installation of the Vivint equipment was fine but I had to call in to talk to a tech guy because some of the equipment isn’t quite up to scratch. It’s not quite working the way it first did and the coded deadbolt didn’t quite have the range. He was here till midnight and was trying all kinds of different things. He had his work cut out for him trying to get things sorted. That’s a little frustrating but the sales rep and the tech guy were good. Both did what they needed to do. There were some limitations in the equipment itself and it’s not their fault. Overall, it’s been good and I've mentioned it before to other people.

    Vivint came to my house and the sales representative was super friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I made them come back another time because I had to see if I could get out of my contract with the other company I was with. The installation team showed up a couple of minutes after my sales guy left and they were really good. They let my little daughter sit up in a chair and watch them set up. I got their service package which includes fire, motion, carbon monoxide, water flooding, and squeezing the temperature. The service has been good so far except one time when it sucked. I had an alarm on the weekend and it said that my back window was opened and closed within five minutes. When I got home to check it, the window was still locked. Still, the whole experience has been fun, easy and efficient.

    I wanted some security so I got a package that included the doorbell, indoor camera and sensors, window sensors and door sensors from Vivint. The initial set up I had was great. The guy answered any questions that I had and was very helpful. But I have an issue with my doorbell and I've been trying to reset it and it's still not working. I called in last month, a tech came out and looked at it. He did some adjustments but it's acting up again. Other than that it's a great service, very reliable, quick response, good customer service and overall good product.

    I see the same post every year and Vivint was mentioned to me a couple of times but I didn’t buy it until I had a need for it. There was a burglary in my neighbor’s house. I got it because it would make my house safe. I have outdoor and indoor cameras, the door and glass break sensors and the alarm system. But the video doesn’t last more than 20 minutes. Also, if somebody rings my bell and I’m outside my network, I can’t hear the person talk but the person can hear me. But when I’m at home and it’s connected to my network, we can hear each other. I complained about that a couple of times.

    I’ve also talked to the sales team when I didn’t need the door lock and I told them to come out and get it off. I also wanted to have a remote lock system for my garage. But they said that wasn't going to work because my garage opener is not set to their system. Then my bill was $65 but I learned they are currently charging me $69. I was trying to find out the difference. Somebody started explaining to me but I'm not satisfied and I just let it go. The techs are great and I had a very good interaction with the installation team. They were nice, very quiet and gentle guys. They did a very good job and I had no problems with it.

    My father in law is 76 years old and not in his right mind. A salesman told him he could have 2 months free trial. In 30 days he called to cancel and said he signed a 60 month contract. My father in law had no idea!!! Preying on the elderly is an ongoing problem and it's so sad. If they do not let him out of his contract we are going to the news and using social media to inform people of this company. Very sad.
