    We had a friend who was a Vivint salesperson and he contacted us. He was knowledgeable, kind and friendly, and the installation was simple and clean. It took them a while but I have the app where I can turn the lights and the security on and off through my iPhone or iPad. That's the most important to us. We probably may get cameras later too. Every interaction we've had has been wonderful. Vivint is worthwhile and the price is good.

    Vivint is really a rip off. Everybody lies just to make a dollar and hurt the customer. My system stop working on day 2. I call them the tech never show up so I called them supervisor like 5 hrs after the schedule appointment. The problem was my battery life was bad but it suppose to have a backup battery that suppose last up to 3 days. Then maybe three week later my panel went blank so came and switched it out. Then a month later my backdoor camera said offline. They came and switch that one. Then a week it did it again and tech on the phone tried to say it was my internet until I informed him I was told the system don't run off internet. They have their own system.

    Then said he'll send me an extender because my range it weak but I stay in a 960sq feet house and the outlet is only 3 feet away from the camera and it'll arrive in 5-7 business day so I refuse that because it would leave my house unsecured and boy he got nasty with so I asked for a manager and left me on hold for 30 minutes so I click over to call them back with him on the other end still having me on hold and reported his ass. Then while speaking with the manager he hangs up. Try to call back after I was somebody hook me up to with a manager. Oh he also said it would cost me 49.99 for a tech to come an ongoing issue with their system since it been pass 60 days since I got the system and I refused that as well. So the supervisor set a tech to come out the next day and waived the fee but nobody came so called them and schedule one of there to come out the next day.

    So he came and it took him about 5 hrs just to connect the extender because it was very hard for so if I would have let them mail me it I would have had another problem. Then I get my bill. They charge me anyway. I called them back. The representative giving the run around basically saying I'm lying. I'm steady asking to just review the recorded conversations. He still giving me a hard. Finally whoever review told him they did say they would waived it so he claiming he refunded my money. Never get a refund. They end up crediting my next bill.

    My other problem was my other camera stop picking up action around the same time everyday. The tech said the range was good after he updated my system. I suppose to had the old verse. My camera still don't pickup action after a certain time. So long story short my system never worked properly since day one. Any advice on how I can get out of this contract because mine don't work and never worked properly since day one and they trying to charge me a tech fee to fix their broken system which is crazy.

    One of the guys from Vivint came to my door and I liked how he explained the details and benefits. The installation went well and they were detailed on everything. They showed us how to use the panel, put all the sensors on the doors and windows and which ones we wanted on. I like that I can control the system from a phone. Even if I open my door on accident and the alarm goes off, they immediately call me so they’re always tracking them to ensure that my home is safe. It’s a good and dependable system.

    I got an alert stating panel door ajar. I contacted Vivint. I was told to try to close the panel door. It would not close. I was then asked if the battery was flat or swollen. The battery was swollen which caused the panel door to become ajar. I was told a service person would be out to repair the panel in seven days or maybe Wed, Thurs or Friday of the week I contacted them. So for 7 days I am without security. I had to unplug the system because it alarmed every 5 minutes.

    I started getting hang up phone calls from Vivint all day long from 8am til 11:30 pm at night. I again contacted Vivint and asked why I am getting calls that hang up all day long. I was told it was either because my system was disconnected and the only way the calls would stop is if Vivint took my number out of their system and when The system is restored I could call and have them reinstate my number. The second reason I may be receiving calls is because vivint electronically charged my account twice and I would be refunded within 3 days. I called customer service. A customer rep returned my call while I was out. She left a message to contact her. I returned the call. I was on hold for 30 minutes, the usual wait is 20 minute for any call to vivint. I was transferred 3 times only to be told the customer rep would get back to me as soon as she could. So far I have heard from no one for 2 days.

    Since the creation of our Vivint account, we have had various extensive issues that are in need of attention and resolution, or we will have no other choice than to cancel our service. On the evening of August * 2017, we had a meeting with our sales representative and his supervisor at our place of business. We informed them that we were interested in two systems; one for our home and one for our business. We were quoted that the alarm system for the business would be a total of approximately $40 a month total including service and equipment. We were quoted that the alarm system for our home would be approximately $50 a month total including service and equipment.

    We went over specific details and decided to get a system and service for both our home and business. We were told that the systems had to be paid for on auto-pay, so my husband gave the business credit card to pay for the monthly bill for the business account and I gave my personal credit card to pay for the monthly bill for the home account.

    The installation for the business occurred the next day. The technician arrived on time and completed the installation in a very timely manner. The installation for our home was to occur the following week. I had requested the first appointment of the day. The technician arrived approximately 3 hours late. Upon arrival, he was not able to install the panel where we wanted it installed and was told that the outdoor camera would take approximately 3+ hours to install as it was a very intrusive process. I called my husband to inform him and he told the technician that we were going to cancel. We informed our sales rep and he wanted the opportunity to rectify the situation. We agreed and rescheduled. Two technicians returned to our home that following Saturday.

    All appeared well until I was reviewing our monthly bank statement. There were 3 automatic payments made to Vivint during the month of August. August 9 for $39.99, August 10 for $9.49, and August 22 for $26.25. These 3 payments were all taken out of the business accountant. I didn’t understand why there were 3 payments taken out in one month, so I went on to the Vivint website and selected the chat option. I was told that I/my email was not on the account and that only my husband's email was authorized to access the account. I called the customer service phone number. I was on hold for 20 minutes before a representative answered, asked me for my phone number and then placed me back on hold. Another representative eventually answered the phone, asked me for my phone number, which I had to repeat several times, then he hung up on me. I attempted to call Vivint again.

    After holding for approximately 30 minutes, another representative answered. He was very helpful. After talking to him, I learned several things that were upsetting. First, that the business was not listed as a business and there were various pieces of information that were needed because it was a business, such as square footage, ceiling height, and building name and owner. Second, the business account and our home account were combined into one amount for the service/monitoring portion. They were to be separate. The business account was to be paid for from the business credit card and the home account was to be paid for by my personal credit card, as stated earlier. Third, the equipment charges were all taken out of the business account.

    Again, the equipment charges for the business was to be taken out of the business account and the equipment for the home were to be taken out of my personal credit card as stated above. Fourth, I am not on the account and neither is my card, according to telephone customer service representatives. Fifth, I was told that I could not receive a detailed bill for our business records, unless I wanted to call every month and request one. With 30+ minute hold time upon calling, this just isn’t feasible. Sixth, and most importantly, we were charged a lot more than what we were quoted. For our home, we were quoted approximately $50 total monthly for equipment and monitoring and $40 total monthly for the business. The gentleman I was speaking to, transferred me to someone in the financial department, who was to assist me and then was to transfer me back. Mid-conversation and before any resolution occurred, she hung up the phone.

    However, during our conversation, the woman I spoke to, told me that she would be sending me an email, with a form for my husband and me to sign to add me to the account. However, upon receiving this email, it was an addendum increasing the price of that which was originally agreed upon, not something to add me to the account. I also cancelled the auto-pay and asked them to remove any and all credit cards from the account. The woman agreed and said we would no longer be on auto-pay, all cards were removed and we would be receiving paper bills. Two days later, our card was charged yet again.

    I can provide our initial paperwork that includes my name on the account, my credit card account given to pay our home bill, and the initial statement with the agreed upon amount. However, there are no signed contracts with the increased price that we are now being charged. I was contacted by an "executive" customer service representative. Her correspondence was inconsistent and she eventually just stopped responding before resolving any of our issues.

    In addition, we now have a new dilemma. Since we had to cancel our credit card because of fraudulent use by Vivint and the bait and switch practice that was used on us, we are now having issues with Citizens Bank, the bank that Vivint used to finance our equipment. They will ONLY take a credit card payment and auto-pay. We have asked repeatedly for them to send us a bill and they are refusing. We were already overcharged fraudulently once. We can't afford to happen to us again, and we don't want to have to keep can't cancelling and reordering credit cards. If we can't trust this company to be honest, we cannot trust this company to keep us safe in our home and business. If these issues aren't resolved, we will be forced to cancel our account and pursue this issue legally in a court of law.

    Updated on 10/30/2017: On October 13th, I posted a lengthy review here of the horrible experience we are having with Vivint. Almost 3 weeks later and there still has been no resolution or ATTEMPT by Vivint to resolve the issue. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I had to reactivate the service with a representative and it went well. It’s convenient. When I first got it, it was one of the few ones that was more like a cell phone than a regular landline. Had major issues with installation, as the installer did not do anything I asked. Took the easy way out, did not want to put camera where I wanted, said too hard. Left wires along walls with 2 screws as anchors one after another, so ugly and unprofessional. Said he ran out of staples. Placed the doorbell camera incorrectly, camera angles were crooked on an outdoor camera.

    I have an ACN business and Vivint is one of my services that I can market to other people, but I use it for myself too. I have three properties with them and each one has a different package. The first property has a front yard and backyard camera, the second property has a front door camera and a thermostat control and the third property has front and backyard cameras as well as a thermostat control. Two of the properties where I have Vivint are investment properties so it was good to have the front and backyard cameras. We also had the thermostat control in the property in Florida where we do short-term rentals because renters in the past have cranked the temperature down to 58 degrees and blown away the condenser outside.

    The service that I have received from Vivint has been exceptional so far. Their sales rep are very knowledgeable. I have gotten the information that I've needed from them. Once, my investment property in a local area here had a problem with the internet service and they guided me through how to fix it. The only problem I have with them is that I wait 10 minutes on the phone for them. Vivint also responds very well. In my personal home, which has the front door camera and the thermostat control, we have my wife's father, who is 92 years old and tends to be forgetful sometimes. Since we had Vivint, there have been two occasions where he left something on the stove and it set off the alarms. Vivint called within a minute. If I had not responded to that, they would have sent the local fire department.

    When I bought a home in California, I decided to check to see if Vivint served this area since I had them in another state and they do. So I got the package for the house alarm to have the feeling of security. I looked for Vivint knowing that with every false alarm they would call us in seconds to ask what's going on. I had ADT and there were times when I accidentally set the alarm off and they never called. I had to call and tell them I set my alarm off and ask if they weren’t concerned and then they checked into it. Sure enough, they were behind.

    The Vivint sales reps have all been very professional and accommodating. They have provided the information that I needed and have answered the questions efficiently and accurately. The installation team was all great too. The only thing is, I called them back to get a couple of additional features, but due to the electrical layout of the house, they weren’t able to accommodate me without pretty much tearing up the house. And it wasn’t something that the installer guy could have controlled. I decided after doing a quick risk benefit analysis in my head that I didn’t want to tear up the house to get electric where he needed it. Overall, they were all great and I’m absolutely satisfied with the service.

    My experience with Vivint has been great. The installer was very knowledgeable and quick, and he helped me understand how to work the system. He even told me that if there's a problem, I could call him so it was fine. I have the doorbell and monitoring in my family room and hallways. I called a couple of times when I realized through my phone that my camera in the family room wasn't recording activities and that I was having a problem with the doorbell. We were able to reach their rep quickly and the waiting period wasn't that long. Their rep sent a tech out and figured it was a problem with the camera and they fixed it.

    When I first got their system and got false alarms, the lady I spoke with helped me to clear the system and sent someone to come out to work with the system. I haven't had any major problems since. I like the fact that it lets me know when the door is open or when it's ajar. And I like that if I forget to turn my alarms, I'm able to do it by phone. So far, I've had no problems with them. I've been able to leave my home and monitor my house while I was out of town, which was an awesome experience. It lets me detect when someone's coming near to my house, just like when my son came to check on my house, I could see that he was in my house.

    I was never told my free installation and hardware was a loan, I was told it was free! When I called the salesman he said he didn't know either. Only when I see the draft payments did I realize it was a separate charge and not part of the quoted monthly amount. I am very upset. Not sure what I am going to do, maybe get an attorney.

    It all began when the salesperson by the name of Santiago was selling his product. Everything went well until 2 days later what he promised us was a lie. He said that we would receive a $15 discount monthly, this would make my monthly payment $52 a month. I had to call about 3 different times, talk to different representatives and someone finally was able to help me. He was only able to give me a $10 off for the next 2 years or $15 off for only a year. I was not happy how it all began with a lie. Then about a week later my system had a malfunction. It took them a couple of days to be able to send a representative. I have a special needs daughter that is sensitive with sounds. My smoke alarm was beeping and they still did not send anyone even though I told them about her disability. This has been my worst experience. I had Monitronics for 6 years and I never had a problem. I will change companies as soon as my contract is over.

    I'm an insurance agent and several of my clients used Vivint's product. The simplicity was the reason I chose them and the installer I had in Rapid City was awesome. He’s installed two systems for me, one in my home and one in my office and he made both of them very simple. He was very courteous and clean.     I got my system installed about two weeks ago and I have been having problems since day one. I am constantly getting hundreds of false doorbell detections. I have called customer service on numerous occasions only to wait on hold for 30-45 mins so they can troubleshoot but not resolve the issue over the phone. After about ten days of failed troubleshooting, they finally decided to dispatch a technician who was supposed to replace the doorbell. However, he said that the doorbell did not need to be replaced but the settings had to be changed, which he did. After that, the false detections stopped but then I realized all other detections had also stopped.

    So I had to called customer service once again for more over the phone troubleshooting which resulted in the false detections again. So now, they have agreed once again to replace the doorbell but the next available appt isn't until October 18th. So basically, I will have been inconvenienced for an entire month with no attempt by Vivint to expedite my service call or to at least credit my account.

    I got a 24-hour monitoring service with Vivint and it's awesome. I'm very happy with our decision going with them. The products are pretty good. It's a little on the pricey side but it's all right. There was a couple of mix-ups with some of the appointments, but they did everything they could to make it right and make it happen. They got it taken care of in two days. The sales rep was also the one who came and installed the system and he was a pretty cool guy. He was very friendly and very helpful. I felt so bad because I had only ordered two cameras. They told me on the phone that I can add more stuff that I wanted to. So, I ended up having them install two other cameras. I had to run the power for the doorbell camera because where my door's at, they didn't work out. He didn't have one camera but he had another representative bring it right away.

    However, there were some mix-ups on the installation fee being waived and another fee being waived. It was taken off and then it showed back up, and it was taken off again. Also, my payments get taken out of my account and then I get something saying that I'm late or that I didn't pay, or it didn't go through. It always gets taken care of but that’s the only issue I've ever had with them. They take the payment out and then they send a letter that it didn't go through. But other than that, everything’s been pretty good and I'd still recommend them to everybody.

    In chatting online with a rep, I asked that my credit card be removed from the account, as I cannot afford their expensive system. I have made it known to the company, that with a recent job loss, a security system isn't a NEED for a family of five that is struggling. They did right by lowering the bill, but with lack of money, the bill itself, still isn't a NEED for my family. (Unlike food, water, shelter and clothing... a security system isn't the top on my priority).

    When I did ask for my credit card to be removed the rep told me that my bill would go into collections. I know this to be an untrue statement, as certain steps have to be taken for a bill collector to make attempts in collecting debt, so trying to 'scare' a customer into thinking they are going into collections is not tactful and against the law! In fact, it's against the law to make any unaccountable scare tactics unless the company is going to follow through with their promise. I would like for a supervisor to call me in regards to this issue as well as calling me in regards to letting go of the system that is definitely not a priority in my family's lives any longer.

I don't believe I was EVER told that I was signing into a 6 year contract, that was NEVER my intention. The so-called "FREE" installation isn't really free. When I asked to get my bill lowered from the $85.99 a month charges, due to our financial situation changing drastically, I got the "Well, you'll have to claim bankruptcy in order to not pay our fees." WOW... so I'm trying to make in this world so that I WON'T go into bankruptcy, and you tell me to go ahead and do it. I'm appalled at this company.

    It is less than a month. Main thing I can comment is be careful when you let in Vivint to market at your door. I was promised wholesale best price for signing immediately (false); no explanation of options got me to sign 5 yr contract; incorrectly noted I have 5 days to cancel and when I called, I was told no it is 3 days and I missed deadline so I have to have 5 yr contract. Basically they will lie and promise the moon to get you to sign 5 yr contract. It does look like they have more smart home option and free installation. They should stick to that in convincing people.

    Everything's pretty good with Vivint except for their mobile app. It's okay, but when the alarm goes off, the app doesn't function. It takes a couple of times to get the app to function and I have to close it, open it, and then close it. Also the batteries in their systems go out a lot. They don't last and then you have to pay for them to come in. For example, the carbon monoxide detector's batteries went out and they don't take regular batteries. I'm searching for carbon monoxide batteries and I still haven't found any. I have them both at home and at my office. The installation at my house was awesome. However, it was bad at my business. They tried subcontracting it to two different companies before finally coming out themselves. Other than that I recommend them.

    One of my friends had the Vivint security system and told me it was really good. I was with ADT before and I didn’t like them. Compared with ADT, the video surveillance of Vivint is much more accessible from your phone, and that’s what makes the Vivint system great. The service package that I purchased from Vivint included a water sensor, flood sensor, fire alarm, window sensors, house door sensors, and garage door sensors. The installers were great and it was all very good with the installation. There's a local guy with Vivint who comes whenever I call him and he does anything that I ask him to.

    The last time I called Vivint was to ask if I could get cameras so I can surveil my home while I wasn't there and if there were any special offers or promo deals to entice me to get this done. But the sales representative wasn’t receptive to what I was looking for. She wasn’t helpful and told me to call somebody else. It wasn’t a very warm conversation at all. That's not very good if they’re trying to push or sell their product. I was kind of sour after that, so I didn’t bother calling back to talk to someone else there.

    I live by myself out on an acreage and I’m not at home most of the time. My Vivint system works well and it is nice to have. I like having peace of mind when I’m away from home. If I order anything and UPS shows up, I use my app and unlock the door, then they set my parcels inside, and then I relock the door and reset my alarm. Everything with the Vivint system has been perfect.

    A Vivint representative was a very humble kid who tried to explain how the smart system really works. I already had ADT at the moment but because of the technology, I switched over. It was their phone system that caught my attraction. I really like how everything can be accessed from a smartphone. The installer was very good. He was friendly and he showed me how the alarm works. But the one thing I have a problem still is the Alexa system and the door lock. It’s automatic. It works sometimes and locks very easily.

    Sometimes, it gets stuck in the middle. I called them one time to tell them about that. Then, the installer came over and showed me how to reset it. When I reset it, it works very well. Then all of a sudden, it gets stuck again and then works again. Another issue is using the garage door opener using my smartphone. Sometimes it shows me the garage is open but in reality, it’s not. Sometimes when I use my smartphone to shut the garage, it doesn’t work. Technical issues aside, I already recommended Vivint to all my friends.

    Vivint was winding around through the neighborhood, going door-to-door. They stopped by, I talked to them and they showed me what kind of service they had. The sale reps weren’t too pushy. They gave me the information and I made a choice because I figured that the whole package together was what I needed. I had already been looking into life alert deal and that came with the Vivint system. Plus, Vivint's alarm system goes through a cellphone and it has its own cellphone. The cellphone goes through the internet then it goes to their computers and their computers go out through their cellphone. It doesn’t hook up to the old telephone lines so Vivint can’t be cut. I was in the process of getting rid of my landline so the cost of it, even though it was high at that time, it was still cheaper than a telephone line, alarm service, and the life alert, all combined together.

    After I decided to do it, they had two installers come over in about 15 or 20 minutes. They hooked everything up, all the sensors in the garage, in the doors, and what I wanted in the package. They tested it all out, turned it back to the salesman, and then they went their way. They turned it back to the salesman who came back and showed me how to operate the system. He tied it into the system and set up the passwords. Before he left, he made it sure the thing was proper and I knew how it was working. It was a pretty good experience and I’ve had Vivint for over four years. But I had some problems with it. I have modules to turn lights off and on and I use my cellphone instead of going to the panel. But since I’m handicapped, it’s hard to go to the panel to push the buttons.

    But they have an application where I just use my smartphone to turn on the heater or air conditioner and change the temperature, turn lights off and on and set the alarm for whatever I wanted when I go in so I don’t have to try and get out of the door before the thing sets it. It makes it so much easier than trying to go through the door and then close the door and get over to the panel. Even though the panel is right at the door, when the door is open, you can’t get to the panel. You have to step in the house and then close the door. That was the way the house was designed so they couldn’t put it on the other side.

    I also had a problem with the battery because the temperature had gotten cold. I called them up and they walked me through doing everything. Then if I couldn’t get it straightened out, they would send a repairman out. Four months ago, they upgraded the system to a faster cell service. Now the system works even better than it did when I got them new. It’s much quicker and responsive to the cellphone commands. It’s worked out much better so overall, I’m happy except for the price. The system sounded good and it was cheaper but I didn’t actually go on the internet and searched around to see if there were other better prices for the same service, which there was.

    The bad thing is they lock you into a five-year contract. If you decided you didn’t like the system or didn’t want it, it would be $5,000 to get out of it which is really expensive. They may not still do it the same way because there’s so much more competition. The other companies are advertising on TV more. I didn’t know that there were other services available at the time and that was another reason I went to Vivint. I didn’t have internet service because I live out in the desert.

    The only reason others are cheaper is because you install the system yourself. They send you the equipment and the sensors and then you hook them up. You don’t have the actual physical service. If you’re not that clever, it could be a real problem. You got to drill holes in your doors to put the magnetic sensors and the transmitter. With the Vivint deal, it was much better for somebody that couldn’t get down and do it anyway. I’m stuck with Vivint and it’s less than a year on the contract. But I’m not going to change anything because the system works good and their customer service is good.

    We have had nothing but problems since our system was installed May 2016. Each time something gets fixed another "security" piece of junk malfunctions. Cameras, doorbell camera, signal booster, control panel, clip storage and back door lock are some of the issues that I have had. I thought I purchased a system that worked well. Not so.

    Calling customer service is only more aggravating and does not resolve the situation. Their customer service techs work on a script and never vary to the customer needs - THEIR SYSTEM WORKS ONLY PERIODICALLY. I need a system that works 24/7. They will send out a tech to fix the problem but a security system should work without a service tech coming out to the house every 3 months. It is their option to bill you for the service call. Do not sign their 42 month or any other contract. Go with other systems that work well but do not have you sign a long term contract.

    When I moved into my new place, I had Vivint hardware already installed in my house. But the panel was removed by the previous owner so I got the newest model of panel. I talked to a gentleman when I was interested in purchasing the system and he was friendly, good and clear in speaking English. He knew everything about the system including all about the pricing. He was very fair and explained to me what my options were in terms of buying the system out front or if I wanted to make payments and go on a term, plus he organized the appointments. I have multiple automated door locks and sensors for door, window, fire, smoke, and flood. I also got the doorbell camera and a wireless one as well. When considering an actual security system, those things were the most important. Everything was perfect from the sales team to the service over the phone and my technician as well. I had a couple minor issues which were dealt with easily.

    During installation, it was done by the same gentleman because he is the only technician in my town. He was efficient and explained exactly what he was doing. He tested and showed me all the features. He even gave me his cell phone number to contact him if I had any questions at any time for the future. He came recently to install flood sensor which was on back order. And when he was at my house, he tested all my sensors and alarms again and everything worked all right. Their service and product are excellent. It’s tough nowadays to get a good product and value and having good service to back it up, but Vivint is here and I would recommend it at any given time.

    Getting Vivint seemed like a good idea after I saw them on Undercover Boss. My neighborhood is also changing so I opted to get their service. I spoke with someone over the phone and I was impressed with their representation of their equipment and their company. The installer who came out was very professional and had wonderful interpersonal skills. He was knowledgeable of the equipment, he installed it properly and ensured that all of the alarms were in working order before he left.

    I'm paying Vivint for 24-hour security and I have a camera for safety. In case someone would attempt to break into my home, the police will be able to see their faces and arrest them. So far, Vivint has answered my questions and responded to the alarm when it went off. So I'm very happy with them and I am 100% satisfied with the service I received. They've been wonderful and I will recommend them to my neighbors. They already have ADT so they'll have to switch but I let them know that Vivint has a very good product and is a very good company.

    Vivint has the poorest customer service I have experienced. They had an incorrect phone number which I had to call three times to change. I was supposed to get a free month for taking a morning appointment which never showed on my account and I had to call for that. The amount I was quoted for the system was not what it turned out to be. I had to call customer service for a credit on my motion sensor which took almost 45 minutes on the phone. In all, I have spent over 10 hours on the phone alone with them just to hammer all of this out. The second tech I had no-showed. I like the system, especially the app where I can arm and disarm from my phone and my first tech was AWESOME, but the customer service experience is so bad, I would not go with them again.

    I've had Vivint for 4 years now. I got the doorbell camera and the in-home camera from three different Vivint people who sold them. All of them, along with the installation team, were good. The only problem I've had is when they put my system in, I get a buzz on the phone every time I turned on any of my light switches. I’ve asked several times about that and a couple of people said that that's just how it is. The way they connected it might not be right but I'd rather get a buzz on the phone to know that it's working and I'm used to it now. Also, I used to get several alerts that a visitor was detected within 3 minutes after I leave home. It was irritating but they might have fixed it already because I don't get it anymore. Overall, my experience has been great and I would keep Vivint for the duration that I have the house.

    My Vivint package has the door feature, house glass breakers and one camera inside. I already had a system but it didn’t offer these features and I was interested in the additional features such as the SkyControl panel or the indoor camera. When I had a notification on my panel that I didn’t quite understand, they called and they reset the panel. When I have a problem with it I would just call the 800 number on my panel.     We are used to having a security system and our previous home had one for 30 years. But the people that we were dealing with are no longer in business and Vivint is the first one that came along. Our next door neighbor signed up with Vivint before I did and he recommended it. Also, two or three people in my neighborhood have signed up with them. We have the basic service which they monitor every month for six years now and we also got fire alarms. The services have been good so far. But, we found out that their price has gone up and this is a wireless system. We're paying twice the amount from the last people that monitored our service. Other than that, we've been satisfied with Vivint.

    I have had Vivint for over a year and a half and had nothing but problems. Door bell camera went out and they want to charge me $49 for a service charge to come and fix their equipment. Should have read the fine print. Their equipment always fail and you have to wait at least 45 minutes just to talk to someone. I would advise everyone to stay away from this company, I am stuck with a 5 year commitment. What a sham.

    I was suckered into signing a 5 year contract and am over 3 years into it. I liked the idea of the camera viewing for our pets while we are gone and the control over the cellphone. I was told by the sales rep that everything was done through the cell service. He lied. When the tech showed up to install he asked for access to our high speed internet service. We do not have it in our house. Apparently it was needed to view the video. When I said if that was how it works I do not want the system, he said I already signed so was stuck with it. I have been told from the start that the only way to get out of the contract was to pay it off. I will never recommend this company or their affiliate (Fluent in Canada). There were many other issues throughout the first year that I have just given up on trying to resolve, was even told by a local police officer that they are the worst company for false alarms and problems.

    I had another alarm company before. The Vivint reps saw the sign and they came and we had a little chitchat. The installers were very professional and good. We now have the features for the door, window and smoke detector from Vivint for at least three years. It is spot on because I’ve had in my half-awake state go shut the window without shutting off the alarm, and they let me know. Within two to three seconds, they’re phoning me up to see if everything’s okay. Vivint is very reliable. Whereas the other company, when they phone me up, it’d be half an hour later. It was very poor service. The funny thing is they phone you and they leave a message if you’re not at home. What good is that? They should be contacting me on my cell phone to let me know that there’s something that matters.

    I did some research on different home security systems and Vivint has a lot of great reviews so I went with them. Since having the system, we've had peace of mind. We've been with them for seven years now. Their reps were knowledgeable and my experience with them has been very good. The technician who installed the system was awesome. He was here for quite some time but by the end of the day, after he was all set and done, he took the time to explain to my husband and me how to work the system and the key fob and go through different scenarios. The only issue that I've had with them recently was trying to get my system upgraded to get security cameras and then updating the panel. It was an excessive amount of money. I thought they would have some type of packages of customers who have been with them for so many years instead of new packages for new customers.

    A sales rep came by to talk to us about the Vivint security system. He seemed knowledgeable and showed us how to use it. We thought we’d try the system and see how it's going to work. For a long time, though, we didn’t use it and when we got out of the house, we came back in right away. But we’re going to start using it since security is an important thing. In our service package, we have a couple of motion detectors, two cameras, and the regular panel that might be connected to a wireless radio. We used to have a house landline phone but we got rid of that because all we were getting were marketing calls, so we decided that we didn’t need that. But the Vivint system still worked without that, so it must not be connected to the phone line.

    Everything during the installation went smoothly and well. We already had the motion detectors from our last system in the house, so the installers didn’t have to put in new ones, but we made sure that they could incorporate the motion detectors that were already there into the Vivint system. I wish the Vivint system was a little less expensive. But other than that, the system was put in well and it functions well too, and the service has been good.

I called a rep and they came out and installed everything in my house for free. The installation team didn’t take long. When I told the reps that I was having a problem with the Vivint system, they told me that it was time for me to have my system upgraded. I had been with them for so long that my upgrade was at no cost. The security service was fine and all the products that I got worked. I liked the apps on the phone and there was quick response from them when the alarms went off. The system worked for me and I had a good experience with Vivint.     I stumbled upon Vivint while doing research on an alarm company. I read that they have good customer service and a digital alarm system that you could redo remotely on your phone. The sales team was good and the installation went well. The lady rep who came out told me what they would be doing step-by-step, where the sensors needed to be located, and how I could save money. I’ve had Vivint’s security system for a year and a half now and I’m very satisfied with the service. My favorite feature is the ability to control everything on my phone. Everything was good with Vivint, except that they used to be quicker after the alarm sounded on the two-way remote panel, but there has been more lag time with them. Still, I'd recommend this company. They’re good and reliable, and they have smart vision.

    I have Vivint's security and thermostat at two properties and then at the other property, I have both and a doorbell camera. The security and the thermostat have been perfectly fine but the cameras are a little tricky. They're temperamental and it’s something that happens frequently. It will go offline and then we go through the troubleshooting and we can get it back up. We've never been able to get the actual cameras on the property to work. But the customer service team has always been pleasant. The installers were very courteous and thorough. My experience with Vivint has been inconsistent but overall, it's been good. If it was more fluid with the cameras, not needing so much tweaking and constant troubleshooting it would be perfect.

    Going on my 4th year with them, I had never had problems with the equipment so never had to deal with their customer service. So I resigned with them and not even 2 month into new updated equipment my garage door opener stops working. I called Vivint and the customer rep first tells me I was going to have to pay for someone to come repair it, I explained that this is a new system so I shouldn't have to pay for it to be repaired and they agreed to send a tech to come look at the problem.

    Well they scheduled a tech to come the 23rd of Sept between 12-4, 4:30 on the 23rd no tech. So I called and waited 20 min to talk to rep. They pick up then I get transferred twice then the last rep tells me that I was cancelled and they would have to reschedule me. So I rescheduled the 29th and yep it happened again. No rep came to visit. So I called, Facebook messaged, and internet chatted with Vivint because all 3 of these options take almost 30 min minimum to get someone to communicate with you and even though you get someone to talk to you all they do is read a script or something because their responses are pretty vague and not helpful. My recommendation is to stay away from this company.

I just found out that it will cost $1100 to break my old contract (he implied it would be about $200 and Vivint would pay for it). He said Monitronics was discontinuing service in my area (another lie). He said he would be available by cell any time I need him (another lie, he doesn't respond to texts or return calls). So now I have a 5 year contract with a company I hate, and I will not be continuing after that time is up. During that time, I will trash your name every chance I get. Was it worth it?

    I called for help as I was having Financial issues and the person I spoke to only gave me one option. The option was that he will waive my debt and lower my payment $10 but I had to renew my contract. In financial distress I agreed verbally but never signed the contract. I called back two weeks later told them I had the full payment and wanted to keep the current contract. They said they couldn't go back as I had agreed and they had me in recording. A Company who takes advantage of a customer who is in financial distress is NOT a good company to do business with. Period!

    The Vivint sales rep explained things and he wasn’t pushy. He had mentioned that somebody on the block, even with the alarm, got broken into. I knew mine was a really old unit, so that was the main thing and I needed to change it anyway. The installation took a while, but they did it and everything was fine. Something was done inappropriately at first and they had to come and fix it. When I called, they were there the next day or that day. A couple of times I forgot to take the alarm off when I went out the back and they're very prompt in speaking to me through the unit and sending an email. I’ve been with Vivint for about two years and even though it had the wires, that was good also.

    The salesperson was dishonest with me from the beginning and I didn't learn until the system had been built into my house that I couldn't back out until I had paid for all equipment. He told me it would be easy to return the equipment and that I could leave if I wanted. Since then, I have had issues with the camera where there is a delay in the picture for up to 8 hours but it tells me it's live (e.g. my car will be sitting in the frame in the "live" photo but I haven't been home for hours). I have also had issues with the motion sensor where the home is armed but it does not register that anything has happened or that any door was opened. I do not get the correct alerts when someone walks in front of the camera or when there's motion detected which was one of the main reasons I got this camera- I wanted footage in case of a break in.

    I called and waited for 20 minutes to speak with someone live about these issues and then was on the phone for over an hour so that we could reset the system and reset the motion sensors. The person I spoke with was very nice and patient but I did everything that she asked and then just hours later, I was showing the home to potential renters and the sensors didn't work again!! I won't be able to find renters if they think the security system is useless. VERY frustrated with how expensive this service is for what I have gotten out of it.

    We were living in Utah and we just had a baby. We were living in a safe area but we still figured that it would be good to have burglar monitoring and motion camera because we did intend on traveling. So being able to look on the camera and see what was going on with the house while I was gone was definitely a choice. The sales rep from Vivint fulfills his role very well. He was very respectful and very easy to speak with. It was only my wife that was home during the installation and they were having some issues with internet connectivity. That was part of getting the password figured out because I'm normally the one that deals with that stuff. Bouncing between the little one and trying to get that information was difficult but in the end it worked out just fine.

    There were some hiccups in the service itself due to some service outages and whatnot. Like when we took a trip to the Philippines and for about half of the time we were there we tried to look in on the camera and it was offline -- it wouldn't work. The outage was sporadic like 20% to 30% of the time. It wasn't terrible but considering what we were paying I would have liked it if it has a little better quality as well. But the area we were living in was a developing area so I know that there may be some contributing factors that could have occurred to cause the issues.

    Also I'm paramilitary and I was stationed over at Hill Air Force base in Utah. Some hardship times came up and we were needing to cancel our system and I provided orders and all three times the reply that I got basically said, "Does not meet criteria for special cancellation. You have these three options." And that was it. It was the three options to pay out the contract, to continue service at the new location or to essentially sell the service to the new occupants of the home. That enraged me considering I would wait for two, maybe even three weeks at a stretch before I would hear back from sending my packet of information there. At this point I'm talking three months because I did this three times.

    Somebody called me back and her name was Kim. I've kept in contact with her because she's going to be who I work with to reconfigure my service whenever I move into whatever home I move into and she told me that I had the option to do a six month hiatus where I don't have to pay anything and then I could just restart up again in my new location. I was completely surprised with this because nobody had ever told me that. And she was also surprised that nobody told me that. It would probably be a good idea for that to be in the orientation of the new representative who speak to clients over the phone. Because had I known that from the get go it would not have been a problem. I should have just done that instead of building this massive frustration that fortunately Kim was able to alleviate.

    Since installing my Vivint system, I've felt much safer in my own home. The technicians were able to couple one of my already installed code-enabled-locks to my system which saved me some money. The install tech did a not-so-great job while installing my motion detectors and forgot to install my smoke/CO2 detector, so I had to schedule a second appointment and time off work, a little disappointing. Since installing my system, I've used much of my mobile data (I hit my max last month when I never have) trying to view my cameras, which I'm unable to connect to about 40% of the time. It's not my mobile carrier because if I have enough connection to watch YouTube videos, why can't I watch my Vivint cameras? Also, I can't always talk to whoever is ringing my doorbell or through my other cameras... yes it's frustrating that I'm paying for this service and can't always use it! These have been my biggest issues with Vivint so far...

    Sales guy Kyle **, sold the equipment on 7/1/17 for around $1500, with a mo-mo agreement since it was paid in full for $49.99 mo. The 5/27/17 agreement, was voided due to full payment. I was led to believe that I would be able to record & rewind back 2 weeks. Later, only to find out ** failed to provide the smart device which you need to rewind. I have sent over a letter to CEO Pedersen & spoke with lots of reps. There's been no response to me from CEO or anyone who is willing to fix what ** did.

    The only solution offered is for me to buy the device with a new agreement or cancel. Also, although I paid for the entire equipment Vivint have re-charged me for equipment causing the account to appear past due. I have never received the correct agreement dated 7/1/17. I sent a copy with my 9/18/17 dispute letter. I would never recommend this company to anyone, not to mention this ** cooked himself a egg in my kitchen in the middle of the sale. If they can't make this right, I am requesting a full refund. There's other breaches & failures to disclose that occurred with this account on sales rep part. Be AWARE.

    We moved in here 13 years ago and needed some home security system. We were originally an APX customer then they became Vivint. We like the Vivint logo. Back then, it was just a small panel on the side of the wall and wasn't as much as it is today. The colors and the same safety that was being provided were great, too, so we stayed with them.

    We got the sky panel and it is relatively newer than the one I had which was one of the original ones so it was really old. The sky panel came with a newer version of the app which gives us additional capabilities like controlling the things around our house in a more micro fashion. We also got the new Element thermostat. But we've been looking for a thermostat that can give us the capability of doing it through the app and that's a little bit more intelligent compared to spending all the money out on a Nest thermostat. It was just a third party thermostat and I didn't have anything else connected with it. I’m also considering looking into a camera for my home as well as a doorbell. But the doorbell cost quite a bit of money.

    We're very satisfied with Vivint's products and the people we worked with on the phone have been great. We've also had the Vivint guys come a few times to replace and fix the panel, as well as to replace the thermostat. We've gotten to know the local guys and they were very nice. So far, everything is working and their system seems to monitor the house so we don't see ourselves changing over to any other service. We've also recommended Vivint to a few people.

    I went online and investigated who was out there that could give me the best security system. I called Vivint and the guy I spoke with told me he was going to send out a girl. Everything he told me that was going to happen did happen. They came out on a Saturday at my request two days after I called. It was very quick and that's what I wanted. The installation team was great. I was there the whole time and they let me do what I wanted to do to make sure everything was put in place. They were here from 7:30 in the morning till 6:00 at night. They did a good job.

    However, I didn't know that I needed a permit in the beginning. At that time, nobody told me and I wished they told me in advance. But Vivint is a good system and has worked out very well for me. I'm able to monitor what's happening around me. I'm here alone pretty much. I work in New York and I'm gone from five o'clock in the morning to about five at night. Somebody's been in my house before this so I had stopped all that.

    Vivint is very reliable and I am 100% satisfied with the service. However, some days, and I don't know if it’s because of the weather, their cameras will save picture from 11 hours ago. So, it's not really current at every moment of the day and it could be up to 24 hours ago. When I put it live, it does come online and it will bring it up to speed but I guess you really got to keep your eye on it and activate it for it to come back to show you. It gives you an update for any playback if you ask for it. It's all recorded there. It's not terrible but you have to really watch the day you’re looking at.

Brandt the tech was very rude and didn't seem to care much about my problems. Monday 9/18 evening called back to request a different tech. Was told someone would contact me in 24 hours, no one called. Called the evening of the 19, was told my work order is still in air. "Wait 48 hours someone will call you," waited nothing again. Called sat morning and holy cow someone can do their job. Tech support got me an appointment for 9/27. I will never recommend this company. It has been a horrible experience. I just might even cancel, I was told by 18 different people I was not in trial period because my stuff is not working properly. After tech comes and fixes my stuff if he can we will see what I decide. 2 weeks and this much trouble is not worth your service to me. I give no stars!

    I have the keyless doors, the alarm system, one camera and panel from Vivint. I wanted only the door locks but the camera came with it, so that was sweet. The sales rep was good and sold me on the system. Their installation team was very good too, but they keyed my door keys off so it didn’t work and I didn’t notice it for months. I called it in and they didn’t charge me for that. I’ve had a couple issues with the service and I always called and we resolved it in one way or the other. I’m very satisfied. However, Vivint seems rather expensive compared to others. I'm also locked in and I don’t appreciate being locked in especially if I move. I won’t be renewing more than likely because I don’t want to get locked in again into a contract for two years. There are a couple of companies that offer $35 a month for the same service that I’m getting for $70. Still, it's been a decent experience.

    We have motion detectors, main panel, fire detector and smoke detectors upstairs from Vivint. We've had this system for at least four years now. I got those because we have two dogs and they're home alone a lot. The guy who did the installation was pretty good. The only problem we had was they put the motion sensor for our dogs upside down so it kept setting the alarm off, but once they got that fixed then it wasn't a problem. Any problems we've had to get fixed, they came down and fixed it at no charge. When we needed new signs for the doors or new sign for the property, they were pretty good about sending someone out.

    Vivint’s service works well for me. However, we’ve had a few glitches. We get so many messages saying that the sensors need batteries. Every time I test the batteries, they’re still good so I don’t know why that’s happening. It seems to be a constant thing. I get annoyed with having to check the batteries. I think the problem is in the main board and it's probably overly sensitive to even small surges.

    I had them come and replace one of the main boards. The rep went through the whole thing and showed us which batteries to install and where we could get them and that the system worked fine. They fixed it but they just warned me that I have to check the batteries occasionally to see if they’re fine and that if the battery goes to a certain level, it may set off the alarm, and I said, “It shouldn’t be that sensitive because the batteries are still good when it's telling me they are not."

    And it still occasionally loses some contact even though the door is closed and the sensor is on. It alarms that something is not right and after I've reset the system, it forgets that the sensor hasn’t changed any but it doesn’t alarm us anymore so on the main board. As soon as I press the button to ignore, it just quits telling me that it’s a problem. Otherwise, everything is good. It's a good system. I've also recommended my neighbors put their systems in after I had them.

We didn't want to do that, so we stayed with Vivint and when it ran out we went back to ADT. But we were satisfied with Vivint. We just preferred ADT because it was local and we've had it for so many years.

    We asked Vivint what was available and they showed us the kind of technology that they have and we selected what we wanted. We were with another company for a number of years and we couldn't even contact them when we tried to call or ask them to contact us so we could update the technology that we had. It’s always good for companies to update their clients as far as new technology goes. It would be nice if we periodically hear from a company letting us know what new devices or new technologies are available and that would be very convenient for us 'cause we're still busy even though we’re retired. Vivint's sales rep was pleasant and their installation team kept their commitments. They even came back a couple of times when we had few issues with the system, though it was nothing too serious.

    We have a camera at the front door and motion detectors in the house. The doors are all protected when they're opened, the glass is broken and other situations like that. If there's a false alarm or there’s something that happens to the system that is not appropriate, Vivint immediately call our cell phone or home, and we can also set our system from far away. We were in Denver last week and somebody rang the doorbell and it flashed up on our cell phones, which was fun. All in all, we’re satisfied and we recommend them.

Phone app has a time delay and indicates open sensors when not open and wall panel shows different sensor status from phone. The other thing that I was kind of disappointed with was we were trying to get some sensors in the storage section but for some reason, it was out of range from the panel.

    Their first guy came by but made some mistakes, damaged our doorbell and did some shady work unlike a professional. But the other two guys that came by were pretty good although one of them had to be helped out because he was kind of large and he really couldn't get into certain areas. But they were good guys and since they came by, we saw that maybe the first guy wasn't the best qualified to make those calls. Also, everything the guys were showing me, the system wasn't really able to do the way we wanted it. Other than those, it's been a pretty good experience and I would recommend Vivint to a friend.

    I've had Vivint for years and the only reason I'm still with them is because they have a really nice set up from a technology standpoint. I was out of my contract which I had for five years. When I called back in June, the first issue I ran into is they had two dates down for my contract. Apparently, when I had moved, they had done something about renewing the contract. So, the manager got involved and got it fixed. I wanted to stay with Vivint and we're considering some new options. Talked to a nice gentleman and he set me up with extending my contract two years.

    I was going to get an outdoor camera and a doorbell camera. Decided the next day that I'm going to do something different for a camera standpoint. So I bought four outdoor cameras with a DVR and just installed them and called in, cancelled that work order with Vivint the next day after I'd ordered it. They refunded my money. Two weeks later though, they went back and charged me $600 for all of the equipment that I never had installed. And apparently, the gentleman who cancelled my order the day after didn't cancel the work order. So Vivint's automated system charged me that money. I got it refunded, but two weeks later, they did it again. They charged me, got it refunded. Did it again, got it refunded. So, at one point, I probably had $2,500 in charges from Vivint. And they were all responsive at some point or another.

    But I was so fed up, I was done with Vivint. But I talked to a wonderful lady in their retention department and she got it all figured out why I was getting charged and got it done. That's how they found out the work order wasn't cancelled. Well, then they got it corrected. But I was done. So she connected me with someone who got me hooked up with extending my contract just like we were going to in June. But it's stuff that I was actually going to use. So, I got a thermostat and the front door camera. Then they gave me a $43 a month bill. So, I was happy with the price.

    But about a week later, Vivint went in and charged me $130 because the computer repair. I don't know if they thought the cost, that it was lowered to was too much or they thought that it was and nobody could figure out. It turns out they charged me for two months of different contracts that didn't exist. So, I had a call and given another refund. So, I got that refunded. Eventually, I just took my card out. I told them I don't want anything to do with automated things.

    As of right now, everything is good. But I have no idea how to get in to check my bill. The website that I try to go to doesn't work and I don't know where I'm supposed to go for that. So, I do need to call and get that taken care of. But if I had to rate Vivint, I would say they have wonderful people working for them. I did talk to one lady at Vivint who was pretty nasty. But everybody else was very nice and professional. Nobody from the standpoint of who I talked to was bad at all.

    But whatever automated system they're doing for billing needs being overhauled. Because if they had charged that to someone who was very much in need of that money and they have to pay their rent, it could really hurt them. Honestly, if I didn't like their technology, I would have switched to somebody else. Five years ago, I didn't have any hiccups. So, I'm not going to let this two months little experience burn that. And I have referred Vivint to friends and I actually got some bill credit for it years ago. I would recommend Vivint to my friends because their technologies are good.

    I had great interactions with Vivint's sales rep and the installation team that they've sent were very good in what they were doing. But I'm not happy with the system at all. It was constantly going down. I had to keep calling up. It has to be rebooted many times. The way it's been working has not been good. As a matter of fact, I went out and spent $5000 on a complete video camera system because I was so unhappy with Vivint. I'm sorry that I got to keep paying it for another two years. I would have been very happy if it worked fine because when it is working it does work well. But as many times as it's gone down, when I really needed it, it was ridiculous. I'd go to check something and cameras weren't working. Vivint is not my favorite system.

    They let us know if the door is open or if we forget or if we have something on the stove that's burning, overheated, or spilled over, we've set the alarm off a couple of times, so we know it works. And if there is a tornado warning in the district, which we really liked because the first time it happened, we couldn't get it shut off. It kept beeping until about 4:30 in the morning, although the storm had passed. So we couldn't go to sleep. It was hard to go to sleep that night. But we finally got the alarm and we just took it apart. Cancelled it so that they make sure they show us how to do it. But then we heard the next night, there was another tornado coming and we thought, "Oh no. Not again." But we got that problem solved and we do like that it comes on the TV saying that there's a tornado watch and of course it blanks the TV off. And then Vivint cuts in and starts beeping.

    And because there's been a lot of break-ins here, it was suggested to us by the salesman to get alarms. So we have the Vivint alarms in our basement windows, the upstairs, the doors, bedroom windows and there's one by the side door, the front and back doors, the garage doors, and on the locked door. With the size of Sundre, there was one weekend, there was a hundred break-ins. And Sundre is not that big. There are 3,000 people here. In fact, the house behind us has been hit twice. My husband's 82 years old, and we're both seniors so we're not ready to start swinging a club to somebody who barges in here.

    After the first and second time that we had tornado warnings here this summer, we got a Vivint rep from Utah and they shut the alarm down for us. The next day, they connected it up again. At the very beginning, the box where we punch our code in inside the house has gone wrong and had to be reset a few times. So we've had some problems, but mostly, it's been pretty good. The tech they sent out has been very good.

    We've had to contact them a few times and they've always been very polite. We've never had anybody that has been rude or snap at us. Sometimes it's taken them a while to figure out the problem, like to disconnect the alarm so the beeping would stop that night that the first tornado warning was there. We were on the phone for a long time, but they were just as patient at the end of the phone call as they were at the beginning. They had us disconnect the stand-by battery and unplug it so that it would knock it out of commission. Then the next day, when they phoned us back, they went through everything and reprogrammed everything and we're good. They've been very helpful. We're pleased with Vivint. It has helped us through. When they're here to put up with all these break-ins, we feel a little safer.

    I’ve had Vivint for a year now and their sales reps were helpful and exceeded my expectations. It's a little bit pricey but everybody’s got to make money and they have overhead. They have to pay people and I understand that. I wanted to pay a premium to get premium service and quality products, however, some of their products have drawbacks compared to some of the things I had before. The way they do the window and door sensors, they glue them on. It's bound for early failure when the adhesive lets go and they slip occasionally. They’re not hard-wired too and the quality of the images on the cameras could be better. Residential doesn’t have anything close to the quality that you get with a commercial. That was a little bit less than they do. But, everything else is good.

    I like the panel and the phone service. My wife and son have no problem working with it as well. I have a little glitch with my phone and I’ve got to get it fixed. But the availability of the people and the services are as good or better than any other service I’ve had. They are very friendly people who are committed to quality service. The system works fine and their service is great. So, I’m very satisfied.

    A Vivint’s sales rep came to my house. He was extremely professional and I had a pleasant experience with him. He explained everything in detail, so we decided to enter into an agreement with them. The installers did quality work as well. Once they're completely done, they picked up whatever debris that was left as if nobody had done any work in the house.

    I have the central air and heating control and monitor from my cellphone included in the service package I purchased from Vivint. I can turn on a certain light switch from a remote location as well. These features are extremely convenient and we use them quite frequently. When we were out and it's hot, we set the temperature in the house to whatever we desire before we arrive. So, when we get home, it's in the ideal temperature.     When I moved into my new house, the technician that installed the system, I had to have someone come in because I was at work. The young lady was 18 years of age and she just let him in. He hooked up everything. He never said anything about I was under a longer contract or anything of that nature. But he had a young 18-year-old sit up there and put my initials there or just sign here.

    At the same time, I knew something was funny because he changed the lock on the door. And they had to come out two other times to rectify the situation because he didn't leave a key. And then, I had to call Vivint up and they had to come out and make a key for the front door. Now, in the process of this, he never stated that in this city that I moved in, High Point, North Carolina, that you have to register your alarm. So now, unfortunately, my alarm went off one day within the first two weeks of me being here. And Vivint went on and before they could reach me, they dispatched the police. Had I known that the alarm had to be registered, it wouldn't have cost me anything. But because the alarm was not registered, it cost me $110.

    I called Vivint up and spoke to one of the accounts people and shared this with them. She basically called me a liar, saying she couldn't verify anything. So, the customer is not always right. I'm paying the bill, but yet she's going to tell me that, since she couldn't verify it with the technician. I think she knew the technician personally. Then she could offer me that I pay $50 and Vivint pays $50. I would have went through calling the city of High Point, calling their collection department in Charlotte, North Carolina, which is approximately 87 to 100 miles away, and calling the police department that said Vivint is supposed to notify them that I have an alarm system. But would I be upset over that if I had known? So I told her that they could come and get their system. Well, they said I was under contract. No, I'm not. I haven't signed anything. You could pull all the papers and I can show you my initials. You will see that it's two different sets of initials.

    So, therefore they blew it. I'm not going to deal with them ever again because they violated not telling me the terms of the contract. They violated by having someone that they knew would just open up the door. It wasn't me. I'm the only one that owns the house. And last, but not least, the accounts person basically called me a liar. And when I turned around after speaking with her for about 30-minutes, asked for her supervisor, she so adamantly stated to me that her supervisor told her what to relay to me. So, I'm relaying it to her supervisor. I don't have a relationship with them. They could do whatever they want. We could go to court. And I can prove that I never put my initials on anything.

    If they want to come and pick up their equipment, I have now transitioned to CPI. I don't have to go through this and that. They weren't providing me the customer service that I needed. They didn't inform when it was their obligation to inform. And when they were found that they were in the wrong, they didn't turn around and try to compensate me in the appropriate manner. So, I turned around and I terminated their service. Up until then, I can honestly say that when I was in smaller house in Greensboro, North Carolina, they were excellent. But since my experience of buying a new house, moving over here, I've been very dissatisfied.

    Vivint tricks their customers into lengthy contracts of 42 or 48 months or more. Then when you try to get out they say they will charge you an astronomical $2500 termination fee. What if you move, well you are stuck. You either have to transfer the service or the new homeowner has to take over your current contract. I have fulfilled my initial 42 month contract (which I understood paid for the equipment). Vivint told me I verbally agreed to extend my contract by 48 months. I only confirmed and secured my pricing. I didn't agree to another 48 months. Now I want to switch services to save a lot of money and Vivint wants to charge me $2500! That is bad business. I am not ever recommending Vivint!

    Vivint was in the neighborhood and we signed up. We have the window, door and glass break sensors and smoke alarms included with our service package for safety purposes and in cases of break-ins. So far, we're satisfied with the service that we're getting. Some of the sensors sometimes break and we have to purchase new ones. We call Vivint and they answer all of our questions and they are also fairly prompt in sending new sensors in the mail. The alarm went off once and we didn’t know why and the fire department showed up. The callers on the other end are very quick to get onto the intercom and see if everything is okay.

    On the initial installation, the team seemed fairly knowledgeable in their jobs and they knew what to do. And they were very friendly, too. They couldn’t get the back door to work and they said that we would have to cut out part of the door. The problem was fixed years later. So, we were paying for that service but we never used it. When we revisited our contract, I explained it to the lady rep. A technician came out to check the whole system and fixed it when he came. Also, I told the lady from Vivint that because we had some issues with the alarm system, I wasn’t happy with the amount that we're paying. She was able to lower it but still, there are other security system places that offer the same service for a bit less.

    We have been working with Vivint since 2010. We were looking for a company to do not just security but also emission management for a fully green efficient home. Vivint had the right mission, resources and technology, so we knew what we wanted and they matched it nicely. We built a new construction project in Boston and partnered with them to showcase some of their cool technology. We had a close relationship in terms of promoting Vivint and we did a couple of commercials with them. Plus, we would service them and back for our area in Boston, trying to get everyone to convert.

    We were a showcase home for Vivint and we got cameras and light switches in our package. This home is a big deal in this part of the city, so we want to make sure that we could continue to promote Vivint effectively. We have primary and secondary panels in three different apartments, and we have the new technology for the primary panel. We have secondary panels that don’t work with the first, so I called them to find out if the secondary panel was available. Sooner or later they’ll call us back and let us know if we could have the panels, but we give tours of the home and our showcase exhibits. Without having all the proper features, we can’t show everything they didn’t have to offer, and it makes it difficult for us.

    In the past, Vivint would’ve gotten the panel out as quickly as possible, but with the new leadership, people are unaware of the history and it’s been a little different. They send out a gentleman named Derrick and he’s new to us, but he’s respectful of our history and he’s been great. He’s a local and he knows the neighborhood and our needs. Overall, Vivint offers great home security and home energy services, but the leadership and the people I contact have changed, so our experience has changed over time. We used to have a great relationship with Vivint and we’d like to return what we had before, but now we’re trying to see if it’s still the company for us.

Vivint's sales rep was knowledgeable and the service technician who installed the program was great. When there are false alarms or when the alarm is triggered, they respond in a timely manner. But if someone knocks on the door, I don’t get the alert until five minutes after. Also, I requested gold but the rep had silver when he came. He was supposed to come and swap out the color but he never did. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with my experience.

    I was injured in the military, lost my leg and damaged my other one. I worked for 35 years and my wife passed away several years ago, and now I've had some other health problems so I'm becoming more and more security conscious. I live in a very rural area, on a beautiful lake. Being out here having no neighbors, and being disabled more than I have been in my working years, I became more and more security conscious.

    My son has a Vivint security system in California and told me about them. I was looking for a company that could give me cameras, lock-and-unlock the doors, and things like that. I had to change from AT&T to another company because they didn't have the power to work any of that. I was with ADT for about 12 years and they couldn't do what I wanted to do so I started looking around. I have a doorbell camera in the front, I have a camera that looks in the back and another camera that looks inside.

    The service has been poor, though. I've had several computer repairs. All of a sudden it doesn't work. And they don't call you. They do things, then it works, then it doesn't work again. Also, if somebody rings the doorbell and I push the thing and go to the camera in the front door, by the time I pushed the button that says "Talk", I have to wait and wait for the little green arrow to go round and round. It's very slow.

    Several times, it's taken so long for people who rang the doorbell in the first place. They leave because they don't think I'm home. Because of my disability, a lot of times I'm still in my hospital bed or I've got some therapist. I had to call and they had to leave and they come back and then I unlock the front door and then they come in. Also, the funny thing is the sign that they put up to let everybody know that I'm covered by them was installed upside down. My brother was coming up from the dark and he realized that, and he's laughing instead of taking it seriously, so I left my ADT signs up.

    They're very kind and they try real hard. They've always been super friendly, very conscientious and when they're done, it seems like everything's back to where it's supposed to be. It's just that they don't make it all the way. I'm not all that satisfied with the service. There's a lot of frustration because I'm depending on it. That's why I changed internet services just to get it to work.

    Vivint reps came to our door quite late at night and we decided that the deal was good, but it’s not compared to what we’ve seen otherwise then. We should have done some research as we’re suffering the consequences now. But they were in a hurry to get it all set up. Our equipment has been faulty since we got it and it can’t be fixed. They said that because we have a handle lock and we don't have a deadbolt lock, it doesn’t work properly. Even if they were to replace the equipment, it'd be the same and the only solution is to get a deadbolt lock.

    They were willing to pay for the deadbolt kit but they don’t want to take any responsibility for doing the deadbolt itself. You do it yourself and you take the chance of ruining your door and having to replace your door. We have no training on how to do a deadbolt. They should have told us that the equipment was going to fail when we first signed the contract, which was two years ago in September. They said that at any time we happen to want to stick the handle, they would charge us for a visit. That shouldn’t be something that’s charged to us. A default is a part that you needed that was going to be defaulted before you even put it in. With Vivint, we have the security and we would have liked to have a doorbell camera too but they told us that would be an extra cost. We were able to negotiate that the contract would only be three years long as compared to the five or six years they wanted though. But all in all, Vivint was a big mistake.

    I'm very satisfied with our Vivint system. I got the most basic features to secure my house and feel a little bit more at ease when we're not home. The first Vivint sales representative was cool. He got it hooked up and did everything pretty quickly. The installation team came and knocked everything out real quick as well. They're also timely and they cleaned up after themselves. And then I've had the maintenance guy go over it one time because our speaker went out. But he fixed that in five minutes. And then, I recently had another representative walking around the neighborhood. He tried to help me out, but I was in between houses when I was moving. Everything has been pretty good. All the representatives at Vivint have been really well. I feel a lot more secure having my Vivint system. I'm more sure of leaving the house when we go out-of-town.     The sales reps were great. However, I got cameras and Space Monkey which have not been installed yet so I’m not happy about that. I downloaded the apps on my phone and I've only opened the box twice. First when I first moved in and I didn’t know what it was. And then, I opened the box again today and there’s no cord with it so I can’t even plug it in. We looked everywhere, even in the office to see if it was accidentally plugged in and it was not. The rep is going to send someone out to bring another one with a cord.

    The installer was fine. He explained everything and took his time. He gave me his own cellphone number so I can call him after I got my WiFi. So, I called him and he never showed up. I waited all this time to get set up and I can’t. It’s frustrating. Last night, the motion detector detected a visitor at 3:00 in the morning. My husband happened to be here, but I didn’t tell him because I didn’t want him to freak out. I love my neighborhood, but there are some teenagers that are kinda tough. And one morning at 6:00, somebody banged on my door three times and I just thought, “Oh, somebody just woke me up.” I didn’t even get out of bed to see who it was because I thought Vivint can and will handle it. So, I’m anxious to get everything in so we can monitor it and see the video. Right now, we can’t do anything except with the panel. But I would still recommend Vivint. I'm very happy with the service and I feel a lot safer.

    Vivint salespeople were walking around but I was not interested with their product. They kept stalking me and kept telling me about the products that they carried, the cost, etc. It got my interest and I bought the package with the cameras. Listening to the sales reps' conversation about it, it made me feel like it would be good deal for me to get. The installation team was quick and knew what they were doing. They got it done and that was perfect for me.

    The cameras have been since excellent. Though there are a lot of times that I get upset because the cameras go off, I always have somebody who can help me to get them back on when I call in. I like their service and I wouldn't change it for anything. There have been times when I walked out the door and ran back in before I locked them in and the alarm went off. I didn't know it was going off and then my phone would immediately call me and let me know.

    A lot of the times when I get discouraged with the service because mine go out so often and I call and talk to them, they manage to get it back online quickly. And if they can't do it in a satisfactory time, they give me some kind of incentive for a credit for being down too long. Vivint has a wonderful staff. When I get a problem, they have a tech who really blows my mind. They seem like they know what they're doing and they're not even here to know. But they get it done. Everybody that I've ever dealt with has been great. I've gotten other people to get Vivint's services too.

    I would like to hear from this company like promised to expedite my home repair. I called on 9/11/17 to request Vivint to repair a system that has been under repair ever since we had it installed. The camera’s work at their own discretion. Had our home robbed 3 times within 5 weeks with this inadequate system installed. The 3rd time was a charm, at least we were alerted but not in time to get the 3 burglars that were in our home. The police did a fine job with matching the fingerprints and yes the robbers had a history.

    We have had too many issues with the cameras always going offline and not just temporary but permanently as we speak now… With all this said please stand by your policy and call within 24 to 48 hours to see if my October 5th date, 3 1/2 weeks our can be expedited. Take my advice. NOT a company to monitor your worldly possessions with.

    I have my solar on my roof from Vivint and I'm happy with it. I also have their security system. I have two cameras that can show different angles of the entrance of my house and observes everybody that comes to the area. I also have alarms on my front door, back door and all the windows. That helps to keep them shut. But I don't have the security system on right now since it threw my internet off. So I need to call Vivint and have them reset it. There’s also a new cable spectrum here, so I need to get together with them.

    Vivint has three sensors and I got a motion sensor, a sensor in the living room, and a sensor to open the front door, the back door and the garage door. The installation was pretty simple. I've been very happy with Vivint and the only issue I had before was I had to replace one of the sensors in the back door because it was beeping and beeping. I called and the lady who attended my call was really nice. They sent me another sensor, I plugged it in with somebody's help and it went good. Every time I call, everybody has been so nice.     I got the front door locks, the inside camera and the motion sensor. These features fit best for my home. But sometimes I need to call Vivint and reconfigure all the device because they don’t work. And their response was pretty fast. They call and set up everything. The reps were really knowledgeable and they explained everything. The guy who knew of the problem explained to me that I have old stuff at home that cannot blend in, and if I wanted to put more things to automate my house, I can do it. Vivint is really expensive and my experience could be better but it's good all in all.

    We've used the alarm a few times when we had to leave at extended periods of time. And when we turn the alarms on, there's the sensors on our sliding glass doors and if somebody would come in, it would trip off the alarm. The system is working great and we have no problems with it. My grandson likes to experiment and sometimes he just forgets to turn the fan over the stove and when there's too much smoke in the kitchen, usually the alarm goes off and we get a call from Vivint to check on us. Also, the guy who did the installation was very professional and efficient. We had a problem with the system before and it wasn't working out. I thought it was the battery. But when he came to check, there was some other issues, and he just took care of it real quick. I've recommended the system to my niece.

    Our system was never installed correctly, missing 3 items. Installers is a flake. Stood us up on appointments. No call no show, spent hours with customer service. It's been 3 weeks. Nobody's coming or calling back. Motion sensors and camera not working. I would not recommend you to my worst enemy... I give you guy the biggest zero in all your efforts.

    I like technology and gizmos and such and was always wanted to get into smart home stuff. I just moved into my new house and figured why not check it out. So everything was going good. We got the door sensors, window sensors, cameras, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, thermostat, and garage door opener. All is well with everything then we get to the garage door opener. I knew my garage door opener was old but it worked fine. I was not having any problems with it. I figured if anything this could make something old new again. I was kinda excited to see this at work. So the technician goes about installing the garage door opener Z-Wave transmitter to the garage door. Seemed like it was working then all the sudden it kinda starts acting up. It went back and forth until it eventually got jammed open. He couldn't figure out how to fix it, so he told me someone would be calling me to fix it.

    So a few days go by and my garage door was wide open. Eventually a local garage door technician comes out and finds that the capacitor was blown. He said to me that it looks like they're going to have to replace the garage door opener. Most people understand cause and effect. I had a working garage door opener then the Vivint installs their Z-Wave transmitter and it breaks then the reason it broke was because of the Z-Wave transmitter. So I wait until after Labor Day weekend and call up Vivint.

She told me that it looks like the garage door opener died as the result of age and had nothing to do with the technician installing the Z-Wave transmitter. I was like really because I was there and I saw the Z-Wave transmitter make garage door opener go haywire and jam open. Apparently she wasn't budging on the issue and said I was now responsible for the costs repairing the garage door opener. If I would've know that this was a possibility I would have declined to have it installed. If I would've know that the customer service was going to be so HORRIBLE then I would've never got Vivint Smart Home installed.

    I don't see how someone who wasn't even there can tell me what caused my garage door opener to die. Yea maybe it was old but that doesn't mean that was the reason it died. That's like saying because you have an old beat up car and someone crashes into it, it is your responsibility to fix it. Do you think a few hundred dollars is worth losing a customer. Apparently it is. I like your smart home stuff but your customer service is garbage!!! So beware of these guys touching your garage door opener. Hopefully I can save someone from going through what I went through.

    I moved out of my residence in June 2014 as I am military and contacted Vivint to deactivate my account. They needed my orders emailed to them which is illegal due to the sensitive information on the orders. Nonetheless I blocked out the information and provided them orders that I was processing overseas. Went overseas and noticed they were still charging my account. Contacted them multiple times and they refuse to terminate my contract under military clause. This was June 2014 hence robbing me of over $1,800.00 that I can't afford at $49.99 a month. They have done this to multiple military families as well.

    I needed to get somebody to take the alarms out of the windows. When I called Vivint, I got a girl rep and all she could tell me was her name and that she was the manager. She said it three times and I wasn't impressed with it. I told her I needed someone to come out and she told me she's going to patch me over to installation. So, I went over there and they told me it's going to cost me. But when I needed to get the alarms out, it should not cost me. I still have the contract and I've been with them for quite some time. But it lapsed because it was past five years and it was going month to month.

    After this ordeal, the technician came out and talked to me. One of the reps was going into a new panel which I did not need but this tech asked me what I needed. So he gave me a panic button and he managed to get the charge for the month lower. He was genuine and he surpassed by 100% the negative that I got of the girl. He was also able to retain my loyalty with Vivint.

    Then we went on vacation and when I came back, I checked our bank account and they were overcharging me. So I called again and talked to a guy who told me he's the manager. I think they shouldn't repeat themselves over and over again because it gets frustrating. It's like they're a recording and they're not sincere. Finally, I got ahold of someone and he took care of the account. I told him I got my contract and I should be charged $30 a month but I'm paying $52.50. He then told me it's going to take a month. He knew what he was doing and I was impressed with that. And then the next month comes and I was charged $51.30. Then in August, I got credited $20 to offset everything. Overall, I would still go with Vivint and as long as they're willing to listen to what I have to say, I don't have a problem with it. They've always been good to me and I have recommended them to three other people.

    We were already thinking of having Vivint when their salesperson came to my home and it took some of the work out of our hands. Aside from the security, we also got a doorbell camera and the thermostat. The sales rep and the installation team were good. They're quick in calling if there’s an issue and finding out if it’s a false alarm which is nice. Someone came out because our panel quit working. We also liked to get an alleyway camera installed which we had an issue paying for. They looked at the space where we wanted it. We live in a very modern house and so, as far as connectivity goes, some of the building materials are not conducive to WiFi and the distance from the alley to where the monitor would be wouldn't work. Unfortunately, someone came back out and drilled a hole in our exterior building.

    We still need to call back and see if we can get someone to come out and do a different type of router to make it work because our alley and garage are far from the exterior of our house. And at the moment, there’s only one option wherein the camera can’t zoom and the range is not as great. Except for wanting a few more options as far as the equipment goes, what we have works for us.

No hidden fees my butt!!! On top of that I was told they were just taxes... like really??? Very dissatisfied with that part of the experience when I was told I wouldn't pay a damn and there were no hidden fees. I would not recommend without being told there's hidden fees.     My installer was the absolute worse. He was an hour late then he refuse to cover his shoes in my new house. He was extremely unfriendly and everything I signed up to receive he told me I couldnt have it or he couldnt do it. He made me regret my decision however it was too late to change my mind. Now I have a system that's complicated because the equipment I did receive was not explained to me and the technician was in a hurry to leave. He even left a mess on my floor, door and wall for me to clean up as well as 2 holes in my new wall because he decided to move the monitor screen.

    Jarin the tech guy. The day before he never showed for the install. The next day he finally shows up. Jarin was suppose to be at my place 430. He came at 445 so he was late again. While he was here working very very very slow. He was very unorganized. Instead of him installing the equipment he was too busy looking up and watching tv. Law and Order SVU to be exact several times. I looked right at him many of times watching the tv instead of working. So I decide to put on something boring so he can move faster. So I put it on National Geographic. They were showing pit bull dogs on there. And he started watching that too. So I changed the channel again. I put it on Tom and Jerry cartoons. He started watching that too. He was not a good tech at all. Jarin was dumb literally. He got some of yalls equipment and used my extension cord in the garage and thought something was wrong with yalls equipment and changed it out.

    I asked him. Jarin says it's not working. I told him the plug was not plugged in the wall. SMH. He put a hole in my wall after I told him several times, "No. Do not put a hole in the wall." I also told Frank that too. Our apartments do not allow that. He took items off the counter and sat them on the floor and did not put them back. He left his trash on the table and counter. Again he started looking at tv again so I turned it off. Jarin got here at 445 and left at 730. That's too long.

    I told Jarin and the lady on the phone to send me an email and I will pay it right now on the phone. Jarin came up with all kinds of excuses. I didn't refuse the first payment. I wanted to pay it myself. All I need was for them to send me a email. Jarin kept stalling. I told Jarin he has to hurry. My daughter was getting ready to have her baby shower. Well thanks to Jarin and Frank whom hid behind text messages I missed my daughter baby shower. This is the worst company period I've ever dealt with. Get security somewhere. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY???

    We have Vivint's doorbell, cameras, padded keylock on the front door and thermostat. The system covers all our windows, sliding door in the back and my garage door leading from the house. We’ve been very satisfied. But when the doorbell rings, and I go to Vivint then go to camera, it’s so slow to get to log in. By the time I can get to the camera to see who it is, the person's gone. My husband mentioned it to their rep once and we were told it has to do with our internet system. I could understand that happening, but on the other hand, even if we're out of state, we’re supposed to be able to quickly see who’s there.

    Other than that, everything was fine. When they called that there was a problem, it was mostly my husband who talked to them. I could tell that they were absolutely super and very helpful. My husband did whatever they told him to do and everything went smoothly. The installer was fabulous too. The guy came in and knew what he was doing. He got done with no problems. We’ve told people about Vivint.

We have cameras, motion, smoke, and freeze detectors, home monitoring, glass break, and windows and doors sensors in our service package. I took it and I’ve been with them since then. A year or two ago, somebody called me and offered me another services. I told them I’m with Vivint and they told me to find out how much is it. So I called Vivint and I said, “Hey, you’re charging me too much and this other company is giving me a better deal." And then, they lowered the price. So I stayed with them. And I’m going to ask them cameras here and expand in my office. I’m also going to need a couple of doors. Overall, Vivint has a good customer service. Every time we speak to them, they are great. I’m very happy with them. It’s been a good experience and I recommend them. I tell people, if I'll put an alarm in my house, I’m going to go with Vivint.

    A door-to-door salesman came and he was referred by someone that got a Vivint system installed prior. I then got the doorbell camera and four other cameras from them. The sales rep was nice and their installers were quick. The service is good but it's intermittent. There seems to be a connectivity issue but I don't know if it's with our internet or with the actual system. One time, I reached out as I wanted to add some light switches to the system that are Z-wave but I’ve never gotten a response. But overall, the system is easy to use.
