    Vivint representatives came around door-to-door. One rep came in and he showed me what we could have and how it all worked. He gave me some prices. We got the doorbell camera and the camera indoors, all windows and doors. My husband works away a lot so I'm by myself with two kids. So having the extra added safety is something that I like. Also, for the small business that I have, I use my door lock quite often to let people in to be able to pick up their items and I can also see them. It was great. I'm satisfied.

    There had been a few blips where our doorbell camera would stop working, so they had to change the camera itself a couple of times. And then, they upgraded the modem because it wasn't working with each other. That was frustrating only because you had to have somebody home in order for them to come and that's not always easy when you work all day. But other than that, it's good. I love Vivint. It's a great company.

    A friend of mine at work told me about Vivint. I got to talk to a Vivint sales rep who was nice, very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. I had asked him about the Nest if that was included and everything. He told me that that would be a separate thing that I had to pay for separately and that it was not included with my other stuff. We wanted some time to think about it and I've lost his card so I couldn't call him back. We ended up doing everything over the phone. We got an appointment and he came right back. We made sure that he got credit for everything.

    The installer was very good. He installed the alarm part and then another guy installed the fire alarm. They cleaned up after themselves and the experience was great. We got the alarm, the cameras, the fire alarm, the doorbell and the motion sensors, too. I also purchased the Nest Thermostat. One time I called Vivint because the people doing my internet unplugged the security system and didn't bother to tell me. I couldn't get it to come back online and the rep helped me to get it back online. It was a good experience. I also got a call from them because my husband set off the alarm by opening the back door. They're very courteous, very nice, and they answered all my questions. I like the service a lot.

    I got home security, home monitoring and my thermostat from Vivint. When the sales reps were in my house, they were super professional. They promised the world and under delivered just as every salesperson does. I run a roofing company and I get it. I just believe that when you promise something, it should get delivered. I had to call my rep six times just to get my letter for my insurance discount, which is embarrassing and very frustrating. I don't have time to waste in a day. You'd think when you're spending a thousand dollars a year on something, you'd be taken care of a little bit better. Plus, dealing with Vivint's customer service is worse than dealing with the product.

    The camera's image quality is great. However, I can never access my doorbell using my phone. It's good if I just want to watch it when I'm in my house, but if I'm at work and someone rings my doorbell, I can't even have a conversation with them. That doorbell system alone is what sold me on the rest of it and it doesn't work. For $80 a month over the next 58 months, it's annoying to think that that's the quality of service that I'm going to be getting. It has nothing to do with my internet because I have the highest speed internet you can get. It's nothing on my end and it's just the product itself. They should manage their business better and each individual needs to manage their role better. I am not impressed with Vivint, but I'm locked into a contract at this point.

    When I started with Vivint, I didn't need to have them connected to the phone. The other security system we had was connected to the phone. If the phone dies out, then the alarm system dies out. The Vivint sales rep treated me very well, and even the ones who contact me if the alarm goes off. Then the installation was excellent except that the installer was about half an hour late. But he must have gotten a call because he stayed out for about 15 minutes. Vivint is very responsible and I'm very satisfied with their service.

    We had ADT at the time and someone from Vivint stopped by and talked to us about their plan and it seemed like a better one, so we went with them. We had a good experience with the installation too. It didn’t take their team long. We have the windows and doors protected and got the motion detector. We've had Vivint for three years and so far, we love their service. As a matter of fact, they sent a representative here a couple of weeks before the hurricane in Florida to check and see how we were doing with our system and if we were having any problems. He was very professional, knowledgeable and nice. He also showed us features like the doorbell camera. But because it’s hard to afford everything that's in, we told him that we’d take a look at that and see if we felt we could afford it later on. He also set up our phones so that we can see if our system is armed or not when we’re not at home. So far, it’s been a very positive experience.

    My new system has been having problems. It will reboot itself frequently and last Thursday to make an appointment for someone to come fix it and some it and still haven't even heard back. This is a costly system and I am not pleased to be paying and it not functioning correctly.

    We have been Vivint customers for more than 3 years. We have it in 3 homes in two states. It is fine until you have a problem and need a tech to come out. We found out that they rigged our system using some parts from our old system and some of theirs. They installed a transformer in the attic because it was easier for them. They disconnected the a/c to the back up battery system but used it anyway. Their response time to come fix it was 13 days! Not a viable security system when they can't come out and fix it.

    I was in the market and Vivint was running a good promotion at the time so I purchased their service package. So far, their service is good and everyone has been good as well. The installation team was very professional, they worked fast and cleaned after themselves. However, I'm not always thrilled with their price and it's more than what I wanted to pay. I'm not a big contract fan too. I thought I was in 36 months and ended up being 42 months. But, lesson learned as I first heard of the Vivint system. Now, there's a lot of stuff on the market where I don't have to sign a contract and I can get the same features for a lot less. So, when my contract ends in March, I'm going to have to do some shopping around and then see if Vivint can match it. Nevertheless, the people at Vivint were very professional and did what they told me they were going to do and that was honest.

    My brother in Georgia had a Vivint system and I did a garage door, windows, motion sensors and cameras. I have always wanted a camera inside to watch my doggie and security outside. Their sale representative was fine. He was the same one that helped my brother. Also, every installation person that came was great. I am a hundred percent satisfied with the service. I would like to get more cameras but the system doesn't hold more than four cameras at a time. Overall, though, the product is great and so is the service. I always speak to people that are very knowledgeable and they seem to help me.

    We bought the camera, the door, the online access through my phone which they never set up on our computer, a CO2 and cameras in the backyard from Vivint. The sales rep was good and he talked his way through a lot of stuff which I researched online about adding a nest to our existing insurance. The website says that it works well with Vivint but he said we’re not going to use that and I can take it back to the store. I didn’t like the comment but we went with it anyway. It took two days to get the installations into our house because we had someone who was green and had issues. The camera was not set up properly and somebody had to come out and fix that. They seemed to be working okay since then but that was way too long.

    I was going to phone them to ask for help because it’s not coming through to my phone. It tells me that my doorbells rang but it doesn’t give me any information, so I don’t know what the glitch is that it’s not working. And then last night, when I came in, he told me that I needed to disarm my alarm, which it should disarm some of my doors, so something’s not connecting right. If they can fix my connection, we’ll be good. So far, it seems to be fine but I need to get it fixed properly because when something’s happening, it’s supposed to alarm you on your phone but it’s not working properly.

    The sales rep represented himself as having connections with Vivint and also with AT&T and DirecTV, and promised that he could offer us an improved package that included our existing DirecTV and AT&T landline and internet and Vivint for less money than what we were paying at the time without Vivint. And that didn't happen. He was only able to provide just a small portion of the discounts that he thought he could do. But the technician was quite good and knew exactly what to do. He did a good installation. He gave us a little bit of training on how to utilize the system best. At my age I probably could have stood two or three times as much but he gave us what he could within the time available.

    We have the video doorbell and an internal video system, and it's done what its supposed to do. We had activated the system by accident a couple of times. We forgot that we had armed the house and came back in without disarming. That triggered a call to the Vivint call center, and they knew what they were doing. We survived that very well with no problems. We've been pleased with Vivint. The service has been good.

    When we bought the house, Vivint came with it and our son has the same so he was familiar with it and he helped us through the initial stage. We’ve been in our home for three months and it's the first time we've had an alarm system so we’re novices at this but we're very happy with it. When the sales reps came in, some of the stuff was outdated so they replaced and updated them and everything was A-Okay. The thermostat, the sump pump, as well as the alarms for our garage doors and windows are included in the package. The app on our phones is wonderful and we like it. We run it and we could let people in, lock the door behind them and then, we put the security on. Vivint's security system is great and efficient and we're very pleased.

    Vivint's service is good, but a little expensive. They're responsive, helpful and most of the products seemed good. I live by myself and I was looking into home automation, an internet monitoring service where you could control lights and thermostats from the web. Vivint had that and they came along at the right time. I got the alarm monitoring services, the thermostat, and the door lock. Their reps were very pleasant on the phone. They helped as much as they can with strange issues and they always got back to me if they had to ask somebody else for answers. On the other hand, their installers have been very professional and friendly. I find their phone services good but there's a bit longer waits in the last couple of years than when I first got them. I suppose it goes with getting more customers. Nevertheless, I'm happy with Vivint.

    Vivint sent a rep here and I paid them the initial charge so they could put everything in. Then they told me that there was going to be an additional charge for them to put in the doorbell camera. I said that was not what I was told over the phone so I told them to don't even bother. They left and I wasn’t going to get it until I talked to Dana, my rep from Vivint Solar. Then Vivint called and apologized. They came back, sent somebody from Brooklyn this time and he did everything that he was supposed to do.

    I had a false alarm and I got charged $175 from the Suffolk County Police. They claimed that the police came to the house but they never did. I asked for documentation and they just put my name and the address. The police was not accepting that so I had to pay $175. Then the alarm system went off but this time, I didn’t have a trigger. It triggered itself. I called Vivint, put in my codes and unarmed it. Vivint got their technical people on the phone and they said it was the back door. But the system itself was not even armed and I don’t even know how it got armed. They checked it out and they said everything was okay.

    There are technical problems with their system, too. It tells you that something’s wrong with the panel or the low battery sensor alarmed, then it comes back on by itself. So they need to improve whoever is doing the alarm stuff because I don’t even know how the alarm is going off. I’m not happy about that at all. Other than that, I loved their doorbell camera. I switched from Slomin's to Vivint because of that. It's very good to know who’s coming at my door because a lot of times people come knocking at my door late at night. I’m a senior citizen and I’m not opening my door that way. With the door alarm, I could see who's outside and talk right to the system, which is great. I don’t even have to open the doors. I also have the camera on the inside to go look at my driveway and during the day, I could see through it. But at night I could see nothing and I couldn't even look on the driveway so it needs to be improved.

    I’ve been a customer of Vivint for years. I go out of town a lot and leave my wife at home so I want to make sure she is safe. I got the alarm system where I can control the locks and stuff with my phone. Customer service is decent enough but we're so far north that there’s nobody up here to service us.     I started with Vivint years ago and it’s really irritating me lately. The battery of the fire alarm keeps going off and I keep replacing them. It has that incessant beeping sound so I don’t know what I’ve done wrong and it’s really annoying. I had an issue with my camera before and they replaced it so that was fine. I’m still waiting for the return label for the other one and it’s been sitting here on my desk for months.

    When someone from Vivint came to my door and explained it to me, everything worked. He was very well informed and gave us a lot of good information to where we felt like it was what we needed in our home. It made sense. We already had another company. We had the Nest Thermostat and we had everything pre-wired on the window and everything. We switched over so it was just the doorbell camera and indoor camera that we got from Vivint. Being able to control everything from my phone was what sealed the deal. I get a notification before my alarm goes off to disarm so it's very helpful.

    The installation part was the thing that I was happy about. As the guy who did all the installation was doing it, I would ask him questions and he would take the time to answer them. So, I was very happy with his knowledge and the way he told me in. When he left, I was well informed and everything was well explained to me. So far, everything is good with Vivint. I had my previous security system trying to match it and even gave me a better price but I like everything here with Vivint so I'll stay with them. I signed up for five years and I hope it's worth it.

    Had a faulty camera or sensor installed on Oct 18. Called to have replaced, couldn't get someone out until Nov 16th. Escalated call and was told Nov 6th. I stated my desire to cancel. Was called by a manager on Monday Oct 23 and was asked if I'd be willing to keep the system if he could get someone out here on Weds the 25th. I agreed. Was given 12-2 timeframe. 220 pm no call, no show. I submitted my cancellation paperwork and called service. They told me I was given a 12-4 timeframe, which I know is not accurate. Tech showed up at 525 pm and didn't even have the correct equipment. I like the idea of the system and the security it could provide, but not with faulty/defective equipment and a 28 day wait to have it replaced. Cancellation stands. Surprisingly, they can get someone out sooner to remove my system than to replace bad equipment. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND VIVINT TO ANYONE, EVER. HIGHLY DISSATISFIED.

    Our initial installation was two weeks ago and we still have not received a DVR and the yard sign. The second camera was installed a week after the initial installation also. We love the service, but am not happy that we are paying on hardware we have not received. We would appreciate someone coming to our home to install the DVR and a yard sign.

    For the most part, my experience with Vivint has been really good. We were aware of the new security systems since our son had one, though not Vivint. Someone from Vivint came to our door. I was interested in what the rep talked about. It was so much more than the 20-year old system we had then. It was something we wanted anyway so we went with it. Their sales rep was very knowledgeable, friendly, and not particularly pushy, which I appreciated. They didn't tell us we needed every bell and whistle. We told them some of the things we did need. With the dogs coming in and out, we need to make sure that they didn't set it off. There were some features we really wanted and there were some that we could have had and we know that other people have them, but we just didn't feel that we needed it.

    We got our old system through Matson. It had a keypad punch in, punch out, and it included a fire and smoke alarm. But there was nothing with the doorbell or the thermostat. We had a thermostat that we could regulate, turn on, and turn off, but it was a separate thing and not tied into our system. With our new system, I like the fact that we can control our AC and our heater from our phone when we're away and that it will automatically stick to an away temperature when we alarm the house. I also like the camera that detects when someone is at our door or when the doorbell rings. We always have someone come to our home to feed our dogs. We know that the dogs are eating fast, plus we also know when somebody is there that's not supposed be.

    We've had a couple of issues regarding the notifications and some stuff. When we use the smart system, we would get some weird notifications saying nobody's home when everyone's standing there in the house. They worked with us as long as we needed to over the phone and it just wasn't working. They had to send somebody out to figure out what was going on. However, they didn't tell us they were going to charge us and that was a big hit to our budget.

    It hasn't been perfect. Sometimes we get the notification that somebody is at the door, however, every now and then, we can't see who's there. We can't go to the camera and see who's there because it wouldn't upload. Still, it's a great system to feel safe at home and be able to know what's going on at your house at any time, both with people and the AC heating system. I would definitely recommend it.

    I have the sensor monitoring from Vivint for the little openings. I also have smoke detectors and the thing for a couple of lights. Vivint has very good customer service representatives. They're clear on the solution, they listen and provide a quick response. The installers are all right, but they are not very technically savvy in terms of installing position and making it work quickly. There's sometimes a learning curve.

    A rep from Vivint knocked on our door and he was very pleasant. We signed up and the installation process took a whole lot longer than we were anticipating. The installers had to come back since they stayed until after midnight and still didn't finish. We were not quite prepared for that length of time and it wasn't explained to us how time-consuming the installation would be. But they were good and after they finally got through, the system worked. Then we had some problems with the Space Monkey so they came back and had it replaced. I like that we are able to monitor our house since we are gone away a lot. We use the app on the phone to do that. As of last night, I had to uninstall it and reinstall it to get it to work because it was malfunctioning. But when I reinstalled, it came back up and I was able to see things.

    Two weeks ago, I got an email from Vivint saying we were 30 days past due on our account. But our account is supposed to be set up on automatic draft so when I got the email, I called Vivint. I was on hold for an hour and a half. I finally got through and told the rep why I was calling. But after an hour and a half, she couldn't help me. She said that she'll contact the billing department on my behalf and have them call me. She also said that she'll follow up with me to make sure that they did. That's been two weeks ago and I haven't heard from anybody. I made it perfectly clear to the young lady that I will not call her back and that she would call me. I travel a lot and I'm not going to remember to pay the bill every month so I want it automatic. Now, I'm past due but I firmly believe that it's Vivint's fault.

    Another thing is, the guy that sold us the system told us that for every referral, he would give us $100. I gave him a referral and they installed the unit in my referral's house in July but I have yet to see my $100. I have contacted my rep three times and he said that he would send it to me. But I'm already getting a little ticked off on that regard. I like their system and it's good but I don't like their customer service and will not recommend them to others.

    I’m a cop so I see a lot of valid reasons for having a security system and I thought to have it would be the best thing for a peace of mind. One of the Vivint reps was a girl in the neighborhood and my dad recently got his system installed. Then I signed up with Vivint too. Their sales rep was perfect that I couldn’t ask for anything better. I got the cameras, the smart thermostat, and the motion sensors. When I moved into my house, I already had the smart locks so Vivint just integrated my smart locks into their system.

    Their installation team was also perfect. It was like my friend came over and installed my security system. The guy was awesome, was there on time and cleaned up after himself. But they added the space monkey to my plan after the installation and I haven't got it set up yet. Other than that, the whole Vivint experience has been great from start to finish and it was the best experience I’ve ever had as far as customer to business, business interaction and applying a product.

    I had my system installed on 10/12/17. The doorbell camera and backyard camera have NEVER worked. I get a UPS delivery at front door - no visitor detected. I go stand on my front porch and wave my arms around - no visitor detected. I and my dogs walk around the backyard - nothing. I have had technicians here twice - one for 7 HOURS! Replaced doorbell cam and panel. Nothing. I have a third tech appt scheduled for a week from today. I have read all the positive reviews. That's why I selected Vivint. It just does not seem to work at my home and the technical support has been worthless. On top of that, it seems if I want to have the system removed, there will be a penalty for cancelling my contract.

    Vivint canvassed the neighborhood and their rep, Kai was spectacular. We went over a list of things that I wanted. If it wasn't for him, I would have never signed up. I have two houses. One house has an exterior doorbell ringer camera and the other one doesn't. And then I have the glass breaks, fire alarm, smoke detector and supposedly motion sensors, but they're not working on the other house. I'm satisfied with the monitoring service but not with the maintenance service. I had a panel that was dysfunctional and they made me jump through hoops to get it fixed and I didn't appreciate that. The installers were fine. They perfectly took care of everything.

    I've been with them for two years now and there were false alarms. I get phone calls and most of them have been due to people coming in or opening doors when the alarm was on but the people called right away. Also, I've already said this many times that they have a bug in their system. If the power goes out, which we've experienced hurricanes in Miami, in Florida, you have to reset the internet from the panel for the doorbell ringer, the door cameras or any exterior cameras. And that has to be done on the panel. And if you're traveling or if you're outside of the property, then you physically cannot reset it. That's a huge issue. Overall, I'm happy with Vivint. I've already recommended them.

    My grandmother passed away in 2016. I became the executor of her estate. She had a Vivint system installed in 2008. I called and spoke to customer service about paying for the system until I could sell the house. I sent all the requisite paperwork proving I was in charge of my grandmother's estate. She said she would extend the contract for 15 months. I was sent an addendum with the billing address change and the monthly cost. I signed and returned it. I called today to cancel service because the house has sold and will close tomorrow.

    The man I spoke with kept trying to make me different offers to continue service. On four separate occasions, I had to tell him that the house was sold and that my grandmother was dead. He wanted me to get the new owners to take over the contract. I told him I lived three states away and did not know the new owners. Then he wanted me to move it with me. I again had to explain that I never lived there and that my grandmother was dead, AGAIN. He finally said that I had to request the cancellation through email, but they wouldn't turn off service for 30 days. He also said I would have to pay the balance of the contract.

    I did not understand why because the woman I set it up with said all I had to do was call once I sold the house. There was no mention of buying out the contract. He said it was part of the cancellation policy and I had signed the addendum. I went back and reread the addendum, and there was no cancellation policy anywhere. Apparently, it was on the original contract my grandmother signed in 2008 - paperwork I do not have. I explained this and he insisted that I did agree to it. I asked to speak to the woman I talked to before. He put me on hold for a few minutes and came back saying she was not available to speak to but she said I agreed to those terms. Not true!

    I was resigning myself to the fact that they were going to charge me for the last two months of the contract. So I asked what would happen if the new owners set the alarm off before they disconnected my service. He said they would call me and my chain of contacts. I told him that was the most asinine thing I had ever heard and was poor business. I then asked to speak to his manager, and he replied that he was the manager. So I rephrased it to ask to speak to his superior. He said there was no one higher than him, he was it. I have since checked their website and he does not own Vivint so there is most certainly someone higher than him. I have found several different phone numbers with and without extensions listed for different kinds of help. I've called all the numbers and keep getting the same man. This is exhausting! I need someone different and higher up to speak to!

    Had Vivint monitoring for a few years. Had a sales agent call me to renew my contract although I had still two years left on the current one. I had been satisfied with their service so far. I was ok with it. BUT, I informed the sales person that we may list our house for sale in the future and if it sold we would need out of the new contract. I was told no problem since I was renewing before my current contract was up. Four years later we sold our home, I called to have contract canceled but was told I could not do it because I still had two years left on it. I informed them what the sales person had told me but they did not care to listen so I could either pay the $800 left on it or move it to the rent house where we were moving to temporarily. We decided to move it and decrease our loss. Of course we did have to pay an install fee.

    Year later we were moving out of the area and could no longer use it, so again I wanted to cancel the contract thinking that I only owed around $189 since I paid more than another full year on it. Well guess what. I still owed almost $500 more on the contract. Regardless what I told them no one would listen. I paid what they told me I still owed and instructed not to ever call me again!!!

    I signed up for Vivint around February 2017 timeframe and I was told as an active duty service member that I would be able to cancel my contract at no additional cost as long as I provided proof of my military orders. I received orders in July to transfer in September to train in Texas for 2 months, and then permanently change stations in December. I began the process of canceling my membership August 23, 2017 and provided my orders via email, and highlighted in yellow my school dates from September to November and report date in December to make it very clear that I would not be living in the residence Vivint was installed in after September. In addition, I requested the panel, doorbell, and bolt be removed by their field techs because my home was going to be rented after I vacated.

    I received a response from the loyalty department telling me they would not accept my cancellation request until my report date in December. I responded and informed them that the service will be canceled in September and told them to read the orders and refer to the school dates in Texas that I highlighted in yellow for their convenience. I also explained that I would be canceling my credit card on file to ensure they understood I would not be making any additional payments after September. They did not respond after this correspondence which I considered completely unprofessional after everything I have had to deal with to date.

    I made about 4-5 phone calls to Vivint between the end of August and mid September requesting to schedule a time and date for them to remove their products from the home. About 3 weeks later Vivint agreed to send a tech out to remove the product from the home. The field tech did a great job in fulfilling the request on site. I was just at this point really dissatisfied with the lack of customer service support, lack of military support, as well as how much effort I was having to make in order to get them to get their product removed from the home when I was initially promised the product would be removed at no cost and with no issue as long as I provided my written orders.

    It is now the end of October and despite the numerous emails, phone calls, and removal of the product from their techs (which is no longer installed in the home), I have received at least 2 notices informing me of late fees. One notice was made from the billing department telephonically in September which I thought would be the end of it but the following month I received an email from the billing department informing me I am 30 days overdue and if I pay now I will be exempted from any additional late fees. I called Vivint and waited for 50 minutes on hold for their tech to tell me their loyalty department was closed and to call back tomorrow.

    I also had another issue early on when I first purchased this product - my alarm went off while I was at work and Vivint called me to check on the residence but I was unable to answer. When I finally saw the missed call about an hour later, I called back and they had informed me my alarm went off and they had called the police but since I did not have a permit with the city, they would not come to the residence.

    At the time, I was not made aware of this permit because I was never notified of this option at the time of purchase. I then asked for a permit but Vivint told me I had to get the permit from the city. I had to find this information on my own, and when I finally did, the city told me it was the responsibility of the alarm system to provide the permits to their customers. After about 4-5 months of going back and forth, Vivint finally corresponded with the city of Colorado Springs and provided me the permit around the time I received my military orders and by then I just did not see any point in registering and paying for a permit since I would be moving soon.

    At this point I am being harassed by this company for fees that I do not owe. I would not buy this product again or refer this product to anyone due to their lack of customer service, professionalism, and threats to my credit. This would not even be an issue if their loyalty department had just read the military orders and initially fulfilled the cancellation request. I've had better experiences with services like internet and cable providers who have had no issue canceling my contract with proof of my military orders. To be candid, I will most likely be a returning customer to service providers I had no issues canceling with at my new duty location as opposed to Vivint who I had a really painful and irritating experience with.

    I have been trying to get my refund for over 1 month now for some upgrades that were not completed on my recent installation. I have called every week only to have the representatives tell me it will take 3 days, and even they have gone to the point, "We will call you in the 3 days to follow up" and of course nothing still happens. Unfortunately for us we are stuck with them for 2 more years. I would not recommend Vivint to anyone, they truly don't care about the customer.

    The system is not user friendly. I have tried and tried to load my brother into the system to access and it still isn’t working. The front door keypad doesn’t work to recognize my code so I have to unlock with the key still or my phone! The doorbell sensor video to delete the clips is tedious. It’s one at a time and very slow! I tried to add Z Wave smoke detectors and they won’t add to the system! The only part I enjoy is the climate control from my phone! The doorbell cam works on WiFi only so if your WiFi is spotty or slow it doesn’t work! For home automation I give it a D-. Going to have to call the techs to help me. I hope they don’t charge to come out to fix the system.

    We’ve been in our home for 35 years and the only time we’ve been robbed was when the garage was left open or somebody left something in the front yard. Nobody has ever broken in but 35 years is pushing it. I had cameras hooked up but I can never make them work so I paid $700 for nothing. Then Vivint sales reps came to our door and and I got the service package with the camera at the front, the doors, and the alarm system. But the camera always dings and it goes off on my cellphone every time I walk out the door or when my husband goes out to pick up and take the trash out or goes to the mailbox and I’m out somewhere. It's annoying. Also, it’s traumatic when we forget the password. Overall, putting in all the little gadgets is expensive as well as the second bill, but otherwise, the Vivint system is fine and I would recommend it.

    Vivint came to my door about a year and a half ago and since I’m away from home quite often, I purchased cameras. A part of the system is not working and when I called them to try and get it fixed, they didn’t get somebody out here to take care of it. They decided that tech services would take care of it and they sent me an email that told me to turn it back in the original packaging but I don’t have it and as of yet it hasn’t been taken care of. During some remodeling, the panel fell off and cracked. The saleswoman and I had a round about it because she was telling me that it cost $500 dollars to replace. But it has been fine with the installation team. They worked everything out, put them and set it up just where I wanted it.

    Vivint teamed up with Sprint and had their people walk around my neighborhood going door-to-door. Their guy William kept coming to our house for three days in a row and finally sold me. I was skeptical at first, but now, I like the idea a little bit. I didn’t know it would be fundamentally good for our finances. William ensured me that Vivint would be a good move and we’d be safer and feel more protected. It was a good deal but the only downfall was we switched phone companies and Sprint was terrible.

    When I agreed to do Vivint at 8:00, the installers were here by 9:00 and started drilling, installing all the equipment and they were done within an hour. A phone tech guy had to come in, give us the phone and set it up as well. They did the switch pretty quickly. Vivint is great and we've had it for three months now. I got the doorbell camera, the door lock which I can lock with my phone, and three sensors which are on my front, side and back doors. Also, I have the thermostat and motion detection. If somebody breaks in, the window and the walls through my house should take him up. I have the monitor on the wall too and that's the main control system.

    There were a couple of things though like the door and the door lock not lining up perfectly. It would lock, but it wouldn’t go all the way in and click and let the system know that it's completely locked. The installers readjusted it but I started having some issues a month later. It fixed itself though and it's finally clicking on the phone. Overall, the system is very good quality, has been of excellent service and I'm glad I got it.

    My alarm was installed 2 weeks ago and wasn't working til today. A tech was there almost every day for two weeks with no success and said it was all due to an e-signature they said they didn't receive. I sent it four times and had confirmation it was received. Also they withdrew over $700 from my account that was supposed to come out in monthly payments. I contacted them and they admitted they should not have withdrawn the money. I'm still waiting for it to be redeposited. Over the past two weeks I've spent over 8 hours on hold. Had my business disrupted and no one would return my calls and I'm a customer of 20 years at my home!!! Very unhappy.

    Please, do not waste your time or hard earned money! We purchased a home in Maryland in 2015 and selected to go with the security company (Vivint) contracted by the prior homeowner. Bad move on our part, because the contracts you sign do match the deals that the over friendly customer service representatives explain to you.

    Bottom line, after having the contract for over 2.5 year, plus the 3 years contracted by the prior homeowner, we were still required to pay Vivint over $700.00 when we sold our and closed the account. The disturbing part about the conversation was the fact that Vivint wanted us to see if the new owner would be willing to take over the account, which I felt was ridiculous, based on the minimal level of customer service that we had received from the company. Much to my surprise, it was a relief to pay them what they claimed we owned, only to be rid of this greedy company. If you're reading this review, please do yourself and your family a favor and research this company thoroughly before entering into any agreement with them. I have already contacted an attorney to review my options regarding this experience.

    I’ve had Vivint for about a year now and I'm stuck in the contract. My system for my home in Connecticut has the combination locks, cameras, motion detector and smoke detectors. The sales, tech support and installation are okay but there are a lot of glitches with their systems. They're trying to make improvements but for a while, and we had a lot of problems on different things. You can have users but sometimes when you add a user, it doesn't take. The cameras wouldn't work properly and there were a lot of back and forth with the motion detector cameras. Also, I tried to get some credits but they were very stand offish about credits.

    My son had Vivint and that's how I found out about them. I've been using their system for seven years now. Their reps have always been nice and really considerate. They also have good security features. I have the smoke detectors and both sensors for the doors and windows. The only thing I’d like to have is some wireless security cameras outside but they don’t have them or the infrared ones, the one that you fit light or the ones that you can activate with your phone or hook up to your iPhone. Other than that, everything has been good so far.

    Ever since having this system installed in our home we have had nothing but problems. The equipment doesn’t work, they don’t monitor it to know when it isn’t working. They took a large sum of money from our account for no reason and when we informed them they still did not get the right amount refunded to us. Thank goodness I checked! I should not have to monitor the monitoring company. We have had to have so many tech visits scheduled to come repair the system that we can no longer take time off of work. It’s ridiculous. To make matters worse, I am locked into a contract with them for 5 years and can’t break it without a financial penalty. I now have to weigh out the cost of breaking the contract vs the cost of tech visits to repair their system over the course of 5 years.

    When I got the Vivint system, their reps were superb. They explained everything clearly, including the options, and I was happy. The installers knew what they were doing. They came in, did what they had to do. They went through the keypad, explained how to do things and set it up for me. Slowly, I added a few other options. I have the the online arm/disarm feature and I had them connect the windows and door motion detectors to the existing house horn. They did that with no extra charge, which I'm happy with.     My husband and I sold our home and were moving to another state into a rent home and did not want to transfer the service or monitor into a rent house we do not own. We were told by multiple Vivint employees that we're able to transfer the service to the new owners. Once we got in contact with the new owners they told us they were interested in the service. We called Vivint to inform them that the new owners wanted to take over the service. Vivint said I had to give verbal consent and that they then could call and say moves and takeovers/say their address.

    When they tried to call, they did not allow them to take over, said we had to allow them to - which we had already. So, I called again and then Vivint said that they would call them. They said, "Have them call us. No, we'll call them." Kept switching what needed to be done on our ends. Made it difficult to the point that the new owners did not want to take over the service because Vivint made it too difficult. What doesn't make sense is that we do exactly what you tell us to do, then you don't allow the take over to happen with the new customer, and we're out $1707.72, which is a huge chunk of money for a sub-par security system service.

    Vivint's rep was pleasant, professional and down to earth. I'm young, so I don't require the suit and tie performance. I would relate more to somebody that seems more human than a professional robot. He caught on to that and was able to catch on to the vibe and interacted with me the way I would prefer someone to interact with me. Since I'm a truck driver and my wife will be at home by herself 95 percent of the time, I got two glass break sensors, a doorbell, three exterior cameras, a motion detector, and four doors. The installer was great. He came over and set it up. He was here a lot longer than I expected though. He stayed until it got done around 10:00 o'clock that night. He walked me through everything with the system and all the different settings. Plus, he helped me set the app up on my phone.

    I need somebody from Vivint to come out and look at my system. It's set up and working fine. However, if I set my alarm to AWAY on my home pad, it will automatically switch it to STAY instead of staying on AWAY. But if I do it on my phone, it stays on AWAY. I don't know if this is something that I can change but other than that, the system has been fine. There have been a few times when I wish a couple of my cameras had recorded some motions but it didn't catch it. For example, one time I had this little boy on the side of my house. I cussed him out, but I don't know why he was there and the camera didn't catch it. It caught the trees moving, but it didn't catch him. Besides a few hiccups, I'm satisfied. It does what its supposed to do. My wife has set off glass break sensors on accident by throwing a spoon in the sink, which I think is great. I would recommend to friends and have done so. Overall, it was a great experience.

    I have been a Vivint customer for 13 months. I called to have my alarm system removed due to being moved due to Hurricane Harvey. I was told that the technicians were backed up due to the hurricane (understandable). I informed the Moved Specialist that I would no longer be occupying the apartment and the technician would have to go to the leasing office so that someone could let him in. Now the apartment complex is saying that the alarm was removed BUT Vivint technician is saying that he did not remove the panel. This is a Luxury apartment complex so now Vivint wants me to pay to get a new panel without trying to investigate or anything.

    I have spoken to 5 different Move Specialist that have gave me the run around. I've been scheduled appointments and no one has ever showed up and I was told, "We apologize and we will try to accommodate you." But still, nothing has been resolved. I've been blind transferred twice. The customer service is horrible and the interoffice communication is extremely horrible!

    Upon my first encounter with Vivint, I was told of course about how awesome the company was and how if I ever had an issue it would be resolved quickly. Word of advice RUN and slam the door in their face. I was promised a piece of equipment and it never arrived, this is after I told the door to door sales representative that sold me the security system and the installer that they forgot to give me the equipment. I even called customer support and they said sorry if they didn't install it initially then you can't have it. Keep in mind it was not my fault that they didn't install it and it was one of the devices I requested when signing the contract.

    Trying to get technical support to help with my overhead garage door has been a headache. I have called several times when I am at home because I know they will ask me to do something to help with troubleshooting but I am put on hold for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. So eventually, I hang up. When I finally get in contact with someone of course I am away from my home and can't do anything. I am told to call during certain hours because of how busy the technical support department is during the day. I see this as a major problem with your service if you are having a large amount of customers calling in and not enough people to help.

    I know that technology is man-made and there will be issues but gosh, can I at least get someone to help me at any time if you are open 24/7 but can only get good help after 9 pm. Hell, I have to work to pay this high ** bill and that requires me going to sleep at a decent hour not staying up waiting for tech support to have time to help me. Vivint is has cool products but terrible customer service and I am stuck in a contract for 4 more years!!!

    A few years ago, a Vivint salesman went over the options, the free installation, and the available upgrades. He was great, very personable and professional, and he knew the product and services. He also showed me his badge and gave me the number to call if I wanted to make sure of his identity. His sales offer sounded like a good idea, so I accepted the offer and got the security system and the cameras. When we renew our contract, we might look at other features that they offer. The installer was great too. He was mindful of our pets and watched out for them when he had to go in and out of the house.

    So far, I’ve been happy with the services. The only thing that I had an issue with was that the price was a little higher than what some of their competitors offered. But when I called Customer Service because of my issue with the pricing, the reps put me through to some people who were able to renegotiate my contract for me and get the price down. They also told me to call them back when my contract renews, so we can see if there are any other options available. Everyone there has been great. When my alarm went off or something was going on and I got calls from Vivint, the reps were very professional and easy to deal with. There were no huge hold times when working with them. I love that there's the app on the phone, so I can watch the cameras, though I would like to see better quality cameras. Otherwise, everything has been good so far. I'm very satisfied overall and I'd recommend Vivint to other people.

    My dad had Vivint in here when I first came back home from some other town. He forgot to tell me about it so I didn’t know he had a security system installed. I was sleeping downstairs then I heard a big loud noise. I came upstairs and they got an alarm. Next thing I know, the police, ambulance and everything else pulled up in front of the house.

    We got the doorbell camera and the cameras out back on the garage, the living room and downstairs in my old bedroom. My dad seems to be satisfied with the service and so am I. A lady came by here one day and talked to him about their service. She seemed like a real nice lady and my dad answered all of her questions. She asked if he was satisfied and he said he loved it. He also has a medical alert that he wears around his neck that goes with the security system. He accidentally bumped up something in the bedroom and set it off. At least, we know it works. I’d recommend Vivint to somebody.

    Our experience has been dreadful. We've spent 20 hours on the phone, been stood up 3 times for installation, Had serious billing issues, because what they added to bill at the office was not the equipment we actually installed in the house. They offered me a $200.00 credit for the last time they stood me up and I had to stay home from work all day, then they took that back after I had the install done. This whole experience has been sad joke. They also never came back to finish the job. My front door knob you enter the codes in is not installed so my family can't use the system. Also I'm not even totally installed and the installer won't call me back, I've called him twice. For truly terrible service and enjoy this awful experience just call Vivint. The fight just continues.

    For starters after testing their panels for radiation levels I found out their panels give off dangerous levels of EMFs. I called to have the panel moved downstairs in a safer place. Not only did they charge me to have it moved, they left a hole in my wall where the panel was. They acted like they didn't even care. This is a brand new house. It was just built last year. Horrible service, horrible device, horrible insulation. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

    Since having this system installed there have been a number of technical problems with the camera and the mobile app. Trying to talk to a live human being with common sense is a real nightmare. The wait time to speak with anybody is a flat out 30 min wait. Techs don't show up for appointments and when they do make time for you caused you complained. They come and rush the customer and act as if they being inconvenienced. When you do actually speak to one of these idiots that can't fix your problem. They put you on hold for an additional 20 mins then hangs up after that. I'm super ready to leave this train wreck of a company and go to their competition. At least they can actually get things done instead of scamming customers and not having clue the first as to how to treat customers.

    I have a background in security and the primary items in every briefing I’ve ever read about for a home security that one needs include the door sensor, glass break, smoke, carbon monoxide and motion detector. Those are what I have now with Vivint, the system I had at my previous home in South Jersey too. I went through three different installers because no one seemed to know how to do the install or knew what I had in my old house to replicate in the new house. In the move package, they said that all they needed to do was bring the panel and they would handle everything. But my installation experience was straight out the worst one I've ever dealt with and I used to do installs for a living.

    Vivint said that they’ll look at an existing system that’s installed and see what they can utilize. But when I opened my door, the first installer greeted me with, "We can’t use the existing system.” When I asked why, he said, "I looked at it and I can tell you.” I told him, "I can look at it and I can tell you if it works or not, but I can’t tell you what it actually is until I turn it on and see what it does”. The guy didn't know what he was doing and was very argumentative. He tried to talk in Spanish with his boss and not realizing that I speak Spanish too, he talked negatively about me. I just told him to get out.

    Then the second guy didn’t even know how to merge an existing system with the new one and was tumbling around to the point that I got so pissed and I told him to install a new system alongside and I would deal with it later. But he didn’t have all the pieces and components that I needed so Vivint ended up sending a third guy who’d complete the install. Also, when it came to escalating anything with Vivint, it took forever even with the sales rep who I was told to reach out to. I told him that they weren't delivering what they told me they would deliver. All he could do was to refer me to an escalation manager who took two days to call me back. After the installation drama, the service is still poor. Overall, there was a lot of arguing and just crappy service.

    When I bought the house it has the Vivint security system. They were unaware that the house had been sold so we had to get a new deal in place based on everything that we had in the house and it took two calls. There were a few upgrades that needed to be done. There wasn't a camera at that time so we requested one. We had to wait for that installation though. There was a little bit of problem getting that done. Apparently they waited for the camera to come in stock and we're told it's going to be a week and then it ended up being a month or two before we got the camera. But the installers were very friendly and the system works very well. Vivint is easy and straightforward. Customer service is good because I've dealt with them a few times with fake alarms and they're very friendly. Technical service was also great.

It drops my camera all the time, we constantly have to reset it and the one camera never came back on after I spent 90 minutes with customer service. Took 7 days to get someone scheduled, 10-12 Last Friday. We finally left at 4 pm after waiting ALL DAY. I got a call at 4:15 telling me the guy was on his way... 4 hours after our window. This was the second time this has happen. I would not buy this product until they have better CS. They are growing too fast and forget about current paying customers.     Starting it took over a month from my initial call to get a service rep to the house to do the install. The installer was very nice, professional and seemed knowledgeable about the system. 2 days after the install my outdoor camera went offline and disappeared from my system like it never existed, and the doorbell camera went offline. After multiple calls to customer service and hours upon hours of my personal time wasted on hold I ended up getting the doorbell camera back online by watching YouTube videos.

    The outdoor camera is still not online. I was told they would be calling me back to schedule a service technician to come out and get it operational again. It has now been 3 weeks since I was told that and haven't received a date, time or even a call back. Even with my wife and I calling multiple times to Vivint ourselves. I am extremely displeased with the customer services that Vivint provides and absolutely would not recommend their service to anyone.

    The poor customer service started when the salesperson left out a lot of details; that we weren't aware of. Then it rolled down to the technicians that installed our equipment. They arrived at our home late and it took them until 3:15 am to complete the messed up job they did. They lied about where they could place our panel and did a rush job. They placed our cameras where someone could walk up and cover the lens. Our motion detector was hooked up wrong. When we are in the house it would make a strange noise. It seem like it was one problem after another problem. We called more than once and they came out more than once. We couldn't hear the doorbell, so the technician had to turn the volume all the way up so we could hear it upstairs; but it is extremely loud downstairs.

    What has me so upset with this company or should I said some of the workers or their customer service. Our alarm was triggered by daughter and we didn't hear it go off. She had just came home for a visit to surprise us. She couldn't get the alarm off and we were awoken by her scream and not the alarm. My husband thought someone had broken in and attacked my daughter; so he had his gun drawn and running down the stairs. If my daughter had not been screaming, we would've never known the alarm was going off and would've had to depend on a call from the company. I called again about the system and a technician came out that was very much knowledgeable. He was able to fix the panel so the motion detector would work properly.

    The technician told us the size of our house and the location of the panel, it would be hard to hear the alarm. He told me they had a panel that looked like a tablet and could solve our problem. Well, calling customer service and getting them to answer the phone is an all day process. I finally reached someone, I explained to him I had been having problems since we got the system. To make a long story short about our conversation, I asked him about the Glance panel and I told him that I should be able to receive it for free for all the inconvenience. He said I understand all that you have dealt with. He said let me check and see if they have any; he returned back to the phone and said we have to order them.

    I asked him to check and see if any of the technicians have any on their trucks. He checked and said, they should have some in two weeks. I called back and stayed on the phone waiting on hold for someone to answer for nearly 45 minutes and then I reached a female and explained thing to her and she hung the phone up. It took my husband to post a comment for us to get a callback. The customer solutions person didn't help, she wanted me to pay half price for the Glance panel. I told her I was informed I would get it free. He never said, "No you can't get it free or we will discount it." I was under the impression that I would get a free panel for all the inconvenience and to show me they appreciate me as a customer and want to give good customer service. I would not recommend Vivint.

    My daughter ordered an outdoor camera from Vivint and the installation guy who came was very good. I also like that I don’t need a key to use it. I just leave the key in the car sometimes then I go and when I come back I use the cellphone to disarm the alarm and it will open the door. It’s very unique. Also what I like about it is if I forgot to lock the front door the alarm automatically locks it.

    Vivint is very accurate as well. We have a couch by one of the living room windows and my Shi Tzu could jump in and out of it. The sensor was going straight to him and I had two false alarms. So my brother said that we need to adjust the sensor to a large dog instead of a small dog and that took care of it. For a company that I never heard of before and never used I like Vivint so much that I even recommend it to a friend of mine. And that friend got it installed already.

    Vivint came by my house and I had a pleasant interaction with the sales rep who was very informative. The installation team worked out pretty well and, though they had a couple of issues, they resolved the problem. The quality is good but the service itself is a little expensive compared to what’s on the market now. I was trying to save some money on my monthly fees, so I disconnected the doorbell camera. Although it still functions, it’s not in the system and they’re supposed to disable that. The service is okay and they’ve been responsive the few times I’ve had to call them. They called me for security reasons on several occasions over the last couple of years, where I had set the alarm off by accident. The length of the contract for service was about six years and it's way too long. When I signed the contract, they kind of locked me into it, and if I cancel early, I’ll have to pay for it one way or another.

    Vivint is really a rip off. Everybody lies just to make a dollar and hurt the customer. My system stop working on day 2. I call them the tech never show up so I called them supervisor like 5 hrs after the schedule appointment. The problem was my battery life was bad but it suppose to have a backup battery that suppose last up to 3 days. Then maybe three week later my panel went blank so came and switched it out. Then a month later my backdoor camera said offline. They came and switch that one. Then a week it did it again and tech on the phone tried to say it was my internet until I informed him I was told the system don't run off internet. They have their own system.

    Then said he'll send me an extender because my range it weak but I stay in a 960sq feet house and the outlet is only 3 feet away from the camera and it'll arrive in 5-7 business day so I refuse that because it would leave my house unsecured and boy he got nasty with so I asked for a manager and left me on hold for 30 minutes so I click over to call them back with him on the other end still having me on hold and reported his ass. Then while speaking with the manager he hangs up. Try to call back after I was somebody hook me up to with a manager. Oh he also said it would cost me 49.99 for a tech to come an ongoing issue with their system since it been pass 60 days since I got the system and I refused that as well. So the supervisor set a tech to come out the next day and waived the fee but nobody came so called them and schedule one of there to come out the next day.

    So he came and it took him about 5 hrs just to connect the extender because it was very hard for so if I would have let them mail me it I would have had another problem. Then I get my bill. They charge me anyway. I called them back. The representative giving the run around basically saying I'm lying. I'm steady asking to just review the recorded conversations. He still giving me a hard. Finally whoever review told him they did say they would waived it so he claiming he refunded my money. Never get a refund. They end up crediting my next bill.

    My other problem was my other camera stop picking up action around the same time everyday. The tech said the range was good after he updated my system. I suppose to had the old verse. My camera still don't pickup action after a certain time. So long story short my system never worked properly since day one. Any advice on how I can get out of this contract because mine don't work and never worked properly since day one and they trying to charge me a tech fee to fix their broken system which is crazy.

    I got an alert stating panel door ajar. I contacted Vivint. I was told to try to close the panel door. It would not close. I was then asked if the battery was flat or swollen. The battery was swollen which caused the panel door to become ajar. I was told a service person would be out to repair the panel in seven days or maybe Wed, Thurs or Friday of the week I contacted them. So for 7 days I am without security. I had to unplug the system because it alarmed every 5 minutes.

    I started getting hang up phone calls from Vivint all day long from 8am til 11:30 pm at night. I again contacted Vivint and asked why I am getting calls that hang up all day long. I was told it was either because my system was disconnected and the only way the calls would stop is if Vivint took my number out of their system and when The system is restored I could call and have them reinstate my number. The second reason I may be receiving calls is because vivint electronically charged my account twice and I would be refunded within 3 days. I called customer service. A customer rep returned my call while I was out. She left a message to contact her. I returned the call. I was on hold for 30 minutes, the usual wait is 20 minute for any call to vivint. I was transferred 3 times only to be told the customer rep would get back to me as soon as she could. So far I have heard from no one for 2 days.

    Since the creation of our Vivint account, we have had various extensive issues that are in need of attention and resolution, or we will have no other choice than to cancel our service. On the evening of August * 2017, we had a meeting with our sales representative and his supervisor at our place of business. We informed them that we were interested in two systems; one for our home and one for our business. We were quoted that the alarm system for the business would be a total of approximately $40 a month total including service and equipment. We were quoted that the alarm system for our home would be approximately $50 a month total including service and equipment.

    We went over specific details and decided to get a system and service for both our home and business. We were told that the systems had to be paid for on auto-pay, so my husband gave the business credit card to pay for the monthly bill for the business account and I gave my personal credit card to pay for the monthly bill for the home account.

    The installation for the business occurred the next day. The technician arrived on time and completed the installation in a very timely manner. The installation for our home was to occur the following week. I had requested the first appointment of the day. The technician arrived approximately 3 hours late. Upon arrival, he was not able to install the panel where we wanted it installed and was told that the outdoor camera would take approximately 3+ hours to install as it was a very intrusive process. I called my husband to inform him and he told the technician that we were going to cancel. We informed our sales rep and he wanted the opportunity to rectify the situation. We agreed and rescheduled. Two technicians returned to our home that following Saturday.

    All appeared well until I was reviewing our monthly bank statement. There were 3 automatic payments made to Vivint during the month of August. August 9 for $39.99, August 10 for $9.49, and August 22 for $26.25. These 3 payments were all taken out of the business accountant. I didn’t understand why there were 3 payments taken out in one month, so I went on to the Vivint website and selected the chat option. I was told that I/my email was not on the account and that only my husband's email was authorized to access the account. I called the customer service phone number. I was on hold for 20 minutes before a representative answered, asked me for my phone number and then placed me back on hold. Another representative eventually answered the phone, asked me for my phone number, which I had to repeat several times, then he hung up on me. I attempted to call Vivint again.

    After holding for approximately 30 minutes, another representative answered. He was very helpful. After talking to him, I learned several things that were upsetting. First, that the business was not listed as a business and there were various pieces of information that were needed because it was a business, such as square footage, ceiling height, and building name and owner. Second, the business account and our home account were combined into one amount for the service/monitoring portion. They were to be separate. The business account was to be paid for from the business credit card and the home account was to be paid for by my personal credit card, as stated earlier. Third, the equipment charges were all taken out of the business account.

    Again, the equipment charges for the business was to be taken out of the business account and the equipment for the home were to be taken out of my personal credit card as stated above. Fourth, I am not on the account and neither is my card, according to telephone customer service representatives. Fifth, I was told that I could not receive a detailed bill for our business records, unless I wanted to call every month and request one. With 30+ minute hold time upon calling, this just isn’t feasible. Sixth, and most importantly, we were charged a lot more than what we were quoted. For our home, we were quoted approximately $50 total monthly for equipment and monitoring and $40 total monthly for the business. The gentleman I was speaking to, transferred me to someone in the financial department, who was to assist me and then was to transfer me back. Mid-conversation and before any resolution occurred, she hung up the phone.

    However, during our conversation, the woman I spoke to, told me that she would be sending me an email, with a form for my husband and me to sign to add me to the account. However, upon receiving this email, it was an addendum increasing the price of that which was originally agreed upon, not something to add me to the account. I also cancelled the auto-pay and asked them to remove any and all credit cards from the account. The woman agreed and said we would no longer be on auto-pay, all cards were removed and we would be receiving paper bills. Two days later, our card was charged yet again.

    I can provide our initial paperwork that includes my name on the account, my credit card account given to pay our home bill, and the initial statement with the agreed upon amount. However, there are no signed contracts with the increased price that we are now being charged. I was contacted by an "executive" customer service representative. Her correspondence was inconsistent and she eventually just stopped responding before resolving any of our issues.

    In addition, we now have a new dilemma. Since we had to cancel our credit card because of fraudulent use by Vivint and the bait and switch practice that was used on us, we are now having issues with Citizens Bank, the bank that Vivint used to finance our equipment. They will ONLY take a credit card payment and auto-pay. We have asked repeatedly for them to send us a bill and they are refusing. We were already overcharged fraudulently once. We can't afford to happen to us again, and we don't want to have to keep can't cancelling and reordering credit cards. If we can't trust this company to be honest, we cannot trust this company to keep us safe in our home and business. If these issues aren't resolved, we will be forced to cancel our account and pursue this issue legally in a court of law.

    Updated on 10/30/2017: On October 13th, I posted a lengthy review here of the horrible experience we are having with Vivint. Almost 3 weeks later and there still has been no resolution or ATTEMPT by Vivint to resolve the issue. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

    I have an ACN business and Vivint is one of my services that I can market to other people, but I use it for myself too. I have three properties with them and each one has a different package. The first property has a front yard and backyard camera, the second property has a front door camera and a thermostat control and the third property has front and backyard cameras as well as a thermostat control. Two of the properties where I have Vivint are investment properties so it was good to have the front and backyard cameras. We also had the thermostat control in the property in Florida where we do short-term rentals because renters in the past have cranked the temperature down to 58 degrees and blown away the condenser outside.

    The service that I have received from Vivint has been exceptional so far. Their sales rep are very knowledgeable. I have gotten the information that I've needed from them. Once, my investment property in a local area here had a problem with the internet service and they guided me through how to fix it. The only problem I have with them is that I wait 10 minutes on the phone for them. Vivint also responds very well. In my personal home, which has the front door camera and the thermostat control, we have my wife's father, who is 92 years old and tends to be forgetful sometimes. Since we had Vivint, there have been two occasions where he left something on the stove and it set off the alarms. Vivint called within a minute. If I had not responded to that, they would have sent the local fire department.

    When I bought a home in California, I decided to check to see if Vivint served this area since I had them in another state and they do. So I got the package for the house alarm to have the feeling of security. I looked for Vivint knowing that with every false alarm they would call us in seconds to ask what's going on. I had ADT and there were times when I accidentally set the alarm off and they never called. I had to call and tell them I set my alarm off and ask if they weren’t concerned and then they checked into it. Sure enough, they were behind.

    The Vivint sales reps have all been very professional and accommodating. They have provided the information that I needed and have answered the questions efficiently and accurately. The installation team was all great too. The only thing is, I called them back to get a couple of additional features, but due to the electrical layout of the house, they weren’t able to accommodate me without pretty much tearing up the house. And it wasn’t something that the installer guy could have controlled. I decided after doing a quick risk benefit analysis in my head that I didn’t want to tear up the house to get electric where he needed it. Overall, they were all great and I’m absolutely satisfied with the service.

    My experience with Vivint has been great. The installer was very knowledgeable and quick, and he helped me understand how to work the system. He even told me that if there's a problem, I could call him so it was fine. I have the doorbell and monitoring in my family room and hallways. I called a couple of times when I realized through my phone that my camera in the family room wasn't recording activities and that I was having a problem with the doorbell.     It all began when the salesperson by the name of Santiago was selling his product. Everything went well until 2 days later what he promised us was a lie. He said that we would receive a $15 discount monthly, this would make my monthly payment $52 a month.     I got my system installed about two weeks ago and I have been having problems since day one. I am constantly getting hundreds of false doorbell detections. I have called customer service on numerous occasions only to wait on hold for 30-45 mins so they can troubleshoot but not resolve the issue over the phone. After about ten days of failed troubleshooting, they finally decided to dispatch a technician who was supposed to replace the doorbell. However, he said that the doorbell did not need to be replaced but the settings had to be changed, which he did. After that, the false detections stopped but then I realized all other detections had also stopped.

    So I had to called customer service once again for more over the phone troubleshooting which resulted in the false detections again. So now, they have agreed once again to replace the doorbell but the next available appt isn't until October 18th. So basically, I will have been inconvenienced for an entire month with no attempt by Vivint to expedite my service call or to at least credit my account.

    I got a 24-hour monitoring service with Vivint and it's awesome. I'm very happy with our decision going with them. The products are pretty good. It's a little on the pricey side but it's all right. There was a couple of mix-ups with some of the appointments, but they did everything they could to make it right and make it happen. They got it taken care of in two days. The sales rep was also the one who came and installed the system and he was a pretty cool guy. He was very friendly and very helpful. I felt so bad because I had only ordered two cameras. They told me on the phone that I can add more stuff that I wanted to. So, I ended up having them install two other cameras. I had to run the power for the doorbell camera because where my door's at, they didn't work out. He didn't have one camera but he had another representative bring it right away.

    However, there were some mix-ups on the installation fee being waived and another fee being waived. It was taken off and then it showed back up, and it was taken off again. Also, my payments get taken out of my account and then I get something saying that I'm late or that I didn't pay, or it didn't go through. It always gets taken care of but that’s the only issue I've ever had with them. They take the payment out and then they send a letter that it didn't go through. The installation team acted very professionally while they are working. They cleaned up after themselves and they always made sure I’m okay before leaving the house. They were gracious even when they came to check the faults. If you had questions, they made sure that they worked before they leave. I had a complaint where the equipment was faulty. I called and Vivint charged me before they sent a technician to come and check it for me which is not right. The person I talked to told me he’s going to put it in the report and will call me.     In chatting online with a rep, I asked that my credit card be removed from the account, as I cannot afford their expensive system. I have made it known to the company, that with a recent job loss, a security system isn't a NEED for a family of five that is struggling. They did right by lowering the bill, but with lack of money, the bill itself, still isn't a NEED for my family. (Unlike food, water, shelter and clothing... a security system isn't the top on my priority).

    When I did ask for my credit card to be removed the rep told me that my bill would go into collections. I know this to be an untrue statement, as certain steps have to be taken for a bill collector to make attempts in collecting debt, so trying to 'scare' a customer into thinking they are going into collections is not tactful and against the law! In fact, it's against the law to make any unaccountable scare tactics unless the company is going to follow through with their promise. I would like for a supervisor to call me in regards to this issue as well as calling me in regards to letting go of the system that is definitely not a priority in my family's lives any longer.

I don't believe I was EVER told that I was signing into a 6 year contract, that was NEVER my intention. The so-called "FREE" installation isn't really free. When I asked to get my bill lowered from the $85.99 a month charges, due to our financial situation changing drastically, I got the "Well, you'll have to claim bankruptcy in order to not pay our fees." WOW... so I'm trying to make in this world so that I WON'T go into bankruptcy, and you tell me to go ahead and do it. I'm appalled at this company.

    It is less than a month. Main thing I can comment is be careful when you let in Vivint to market at your door. I was promised wholesale best price for signing immediately (false); no explanation of options got me to sign 5 yr contract; incorrectly noted I have 5 days to cancel and when I called, I was told no it is 3 days and I missed deadline so I have to have 5 yr contract. Basically they will lie and promise the moon to get you to sign 5 yr contract. It does look like they have more smart home option and free installation. They should stick to that in convincing people.

    Everything's pretty good with Vivint except for their mobile app. It's okay, but when the alarm goes off, the app doesn't function. It takes a couple of times to get the app to function and I have to close it, open it, and then close it. Also the batteries in their systems go out a lot. They don't last and then you have to pay for them to come in. For example, the carbon monoxide detector's batteries went out and they don't take regular batteries. I'm searching for carbon monoxide batteries and I still haven't found any. I have them both at home and at my office. The installation at my house was awesome. However, it was bad at my business. They tried subcontracting it to two different companies before finally coming out themselves. Other than that I recommend them.

    The package we chose not only included Vivint's alarm but also the emergency device in case we fall down, and I am thoroughly satisfied with Vivint's service. It's wonderful.     One of my friends had the Vivint security system and told me it was really good. I was with ADT before and I didn’t like them. Compared with ADT, the video surveillance of Vivint is much more accessible from your phone, and that’s what makes the Vivint system great. The service package that I purchased from Vivint included a water sensor, flood sensor, fire alarm, window sensors, house door sensors, and garage door sensors. The installers were great and it was all very good with the installation. There's a local guy with Vivint who comes whenever I call him and he does anything that I ask him to.

    The last time I called Vivint was to ask if I could get cameras so I can surveil my home while I wasn't there and if there were any special offers or promo deals to entice me to get this done. But the sales representative wasn’t receptive to what I was looking for. She wasn’t helpful and told me to call somebody else. It wasn’t a very warm conversation at all. That's not very good if they’re trying to push or sell their product. I was kind of sour after that, so I didn’t bother calling back to talk to someone else there.

    I live by myself out on an acreage and I’m not at home most of the time. My Vivint system works well and it is nice to have. I like having peace of mind when I’m away from home. If I order anything and UPS shows up, I use my app and unlock the door, then they set my parcels inside, and then I relock the door and reset my alarm. Everything with the Vivint system has been perfect.

    A Vivint representative was a very humble kid who tried to explain how the smart system really works. I already had ADT at the moment but because of the technology, I switched over. It was their phone system that caught my attraction. I really like how everything can be accessed from a smartphone. The installer was very good. He was friendly and he showed me how the alarm works. But the one thing I have a problem still is the Alexa system and the door lock. It’s automatic. It works sometimes and locks very easily.

    Sometimes, it gets stuck in the middle. I called them one time to tell them about that. Then, the installer came over and showed me how to reset it. When I reset it, it works very well. Then all of a sudden, it gets stuck again and then works again. Another issue is using the garage door opener using my smartphone. Sometimes it shows me the garage is open but in reality, it’s not. Sometimes when I use my smartphone to shut the garage, it doesn’t work. Technical issues aside, I already recommended Vivint to all my friends.

    Vivint was winding around through the neighborhood, going door-to-door. They stopped by, I talked to them and they showed me what kind of service they had. The sale reps weren’t too pushy. They gave me the information and I made a choice because I figured that the whole package together was what I needed. I had already been looking into life alert deal and that came with the Vivint system. Plus, Vivint's alarm system goes through a cellphone and it has its own cellphone. The cellphone goes through the internet then it goes to their computers and their computers go out through their cellphone. It doesn’t hook up to the old telephone lines so Vivint can’t be cut. I was in the process of getting rid of my landline so the cost of it, even though it was high at that time, it was still cheaper than a telephone line, alarm service, and the life alert, all combined together.

    After I decided to do it, they had two installers come over in about 15 or 20 minutes. They hooked everything up, all the sensors in the garage, in the doors, and what I wanted in the package. They tested it all out, turned it back to the salesman, and then they went their way. They turned it back to the salesman who came back and showed me how to operate the system. He tied it into the system and set up the passwords. Before he left, he made it sure the thing was proper and I knew how it was working. It was a pretty good experience and I’ve had Vivint for over four years. But I had some problems with it. I have modules to turn lights off and on and I use my cellphone instead of going to the panel. But since I’m handicapped, it’s hard to go to the panel to push the buttons.

    But they have an application where I just use my smartphone to turn on the heater or air conditioner and change the temperature, turn lights off and on and set the alarm for whatever I wanted when I go in so I don’t have to try and get out of the door before the thing sets it. It makes it so much easier than trying to go through the door and then close the door and get over to the panel. Even though the panel is right at the door, when the door is open, you can’t get to the panel. You have to step in the house and then close the door. That was the way the house was designed so they couldn’t put it on the other side.

    I also had a problem with the battery because the temperature had gotten cold. I called them up and they walked me through doing everything. Then if I couldn’t get it straightened out, they would send a repairman out. Four months ago, they upgraded the system to a faster cell service. Now the system works even better than it did when I got them new. It’s much quicker and responsive to the cellphone commands. It’s worked out much better so overall, I’m happy except for the price. The system sounded good and it was cheaper but I didn’t actually go on the internet and searched around to see if there were other better prices for the same service, which there was.

    The bad thing is they lock you into a five-year contract. If you decided you didn’t like the system or didn’t want it, it would be $5,000 to get out of it which is really expensive. They may not still do it the same way because there’s so much more competition. The other companies are advertising on TV more. I didn’t know that there were other services available at the time and that was another reason I went to Vivint. I didn’t have internet service because I live out in the desert.

    The only reason others are cheaper is because you install the system yourself. They send you the equipment and the sensors and then you hook them up. You don’t have the actual physical service. If you’re not that clever, it could be a real problem. You got to drill holes in your doors to put the magnetic sensors and the transmitter. With the Vivint deal, it was much better for somebody that couldn’t get down and do it anyway. I’m stuck with Vivint and it’s less than a year on the contract. But I’m not going to change anything because the system works good and their customer service is good.

    We have had nothing but problems since our system was installed May 2016. Each time something gets fixed another "security" piece of junk malfunctions. Cameras, doorbell camera, signal booster, control panel, clip storage and back door lock are some of the issues that I have had. I thought I purchased a system that worked well. Not so.

    Calling customer service is only more aggravating and does not resolve the situation. Their customer service techs work on a script and never vary to the customer needs - THEIR SYSTEM WORKS ONLY PERIODICALLY. I need a system that works 24/7. They will send out a tech to fix the problem but a security system should work without a service tech coming out to the house every 3 months. It is their option to bill you for the service call. Do not sign their 42 month or any other contract. Go with other systems that work well but do not have you sign a long term contract.

    Getting Vivint seemed like a good idea after I saw them on Undercover Boss. My neighborhood is also changing so I opted to get their service. I spoke with someone over the phone and I was impressed with their representation of their equipment and their company. The installer who came out was very professional and had wonderful interpersonal skills. He was knowledgeable of the equipment, he installed it properly and ensured that all of the alarms were in working order before he left.

    I'm paying Vivint for 24-hour security and I have a camera for safety. In case someone would attempt to break into my home, the police will be able to see their faces and arrest them. So far, Vivint has answered my questions and responded to the alarm when it went off. So I'm very happy with them and I am 100% satisfied with the service I received.     When I moved into my new place, I had Vivint hardware already installed in my house. But the panel was removed by the previous owner so I got the newest model of panel. I talked to a gentleman when I was interested in purchasing the system and he was friendly, good and clear in speaking English. He knew everything about the system including all about the pricing. He was very fair and explained to me what my options were in terms of buying the system out front or if I wanted to make payments and go on a term, plus he organized the appointments. I have multiple automated door locks and sensors for door, window, fire, smoke, and flood. I also got the doorbell camera and a wireless one as well. When considering an actual security system, those things were the most important. Everything was perfect from the sales team to the service over the phone and my technician as well.     During installation, it was done by the same gentleman because he is the only technician in my town. He was efficient and explained exactly what he was doing. He tested and showed me all the features. He even gave me his cell phone number to contact him if I had any questions at any time for the future. He came recently to install flood sensor which was on back order. And when he was at my house, he tested all my sensors and alarms again and everything worked all right. Their service and product are excellent. It’s tough nowadays to get a good product and value and having good service to back it up, but Vivint is here and I would recommend it at any given time.

    Vivint has the poorest customer service I have experienced. They had an incorrect phone number which I had to call three times to change. I was supposed to get a free month for taking a morning appointment which never showed on my account and I had to call for that. The amount I was quoted for the system was not what it turned out to be. I had to call customer service for a credit on my motion sensor which took almost 45 minutes on the phone. In all, I have spent over 10 hours on the phone alone with them just to hammer all of this out. The second tech I had no-showed. I like the system, especially the app where I can arm and disarm from my phone and my first tech was AWESOME, but the customer service experience is so bad, I would not go with them again.

    I've had Vivint for 4 years now. I got the doorbell camera and the in-home camera from three different Vivint people who sold them. All of them, along with the installation team, were good. The only problem I've had is when they put my system in, I get a buzz on the phone every time I turned on any of my light switches. I’ve asked several times about that and a couple of people said that that's just how it is. The way they connected it might not be right but I'd rather get a buzz on the phone to know that it's working and I'm used to it now. Also, I used to get several alerts that a visitor was detected within 3 minutes after I leave home. It was irritating but they might have fixed it already because I don't get it anymore. Overall, my experience has been great and I would keep Vivint for the duration that I have the house.

    We are used to having a security system and our previous home had one for 30 years. But the people that we were dealing with are no longer in business and Vivint is the first one that came along. Our next door neighbor signed up with Vivint before I did and he recommended it. Also, two or three people in my neighborhood have signed up with them. We have the basic service which they monitor every month for six years now and we also got fire alarms. The services have been good so far. But, we found out that their price has gone up and this is a wireless system. We're paying twice the amount from the last people that monitored our service. Other than that, we've been satisfied with Vivint.

    My Vivint package has the door feature, house glass breakers and one camera inside. I already had a system but it didn’t offer these features and I was interested in the additional features such as the SkyControl panel or the indoor camera. When I had a notification on my panel that I didn’t quite understand, they called and they reset the panel. When I have a problem with it I would just call the 800 number on my panel. It was a good experience and an excellent system.

    I have had Vivint for over a year and a half and had nothing but problems. Door bell camera went out and they want to charge me $49 for a service charge to come and fix their equipment. Should have read the fine print. Their equipment always fail and you have to wait at least 45 minutes just to talk to someone. I would advise everyone to stay away from this company, I am stuck with a 5 year commitment. What a sham.

    I was suckered into signing a 5 year contract and am over 3 years into it. I liked the idea of the camera viewing for our pets while we are gone and the control over the cellphone. I was told by the sales rep that everything was done through the cell service. He lied. When the tech showed up to install he asked for access to our high speed internet service. We do not have it in our house. Apparently it was needed to view the video. When I said if that was how it works I do not want the system, he said I already signed so was stuck with it. I have been told from the start that the only way to get out of the contract was to pay it off. I will never recommend this company or their affiliate (Fluent in Canada). There were many other issues throughout the first year that I have just given up on trying to resolve, was even told by a local police officer that they are the worst company for false alarms and problems.

    I had another alarm company before. The Vivint reps saw the sign and they came and we had a little chitchat. The installers were very professional and good. We now have the features for the door, window and smoke detector from Vivint for at least three years. It is spot on because I’ve had in my half-awake state go shut the window without shutting off the alarm, and they let me know. Within two to three seconds, they’re phoning me up to see if everything’s okay. Vivint is very reliable. Whereas the other company, when they phone me up, it’d be half an hour later. It was very poor service. The funny thing is they phone you and they leave a message if you’re not at home. What good is that? They should be contacting me on my cell phone to let me know that there’s something that matters.

    I did some research on different home security systems and Vivint has a lot of great reviews so I went with them. Since having the system, we've had peace of mind. We've been with them for seven years now. Their reps were knowledgeable and my experience with them has been very good. The technician who installed the system was awesome. He was here for quite some time but by the end of the day, after he was all set and done, he took the time to explain to my husband and me how to work the system and the key fob and go through different scenarios. The only issue that I've had with them recently was trying to get my system upgraded to get security cameras and then updating the panel. It was an excessive amount of money. I thought they would have some type of packages of customers who have been with them for so many years instead of new packages for new customers.

    A sales rep came by to talk to us about the Vivint security system. He seemed knowledgeable and showed us how to use it. We thought we’d try the system and see how it's going to work. For a long time, though, we didn’t use it and when we got out of the house, we came back in right away. But we’re going to start using it since security is an important thing. In our service package, we have a couple of motion detectors, two cameras, and the regular panel that might be connected to a wireless radio. We used to have a house landline phone but we got rid of that because all we were getting were marketing calls, so we decided that we didn’t need that. But the Vivint system still worked without that, so it must not be connected to the phone line.

    Everything during the installation went smoothly and well. We already had the motion detectors from our last system in the house, so the installers didn’t have to put in new ones, but we made sure that they could incorporate the motion detectors that were already there into the Vivint system. I wish the Vivint system was a little less expensive. But other than that, the system was put in well and it functions well too, and the service has been good.

    I was with a different company before Vivint bought them and I got transferred. Then Vivint gave me a two-year contract. I called a rep and they came out and installed everything in my house for free. The installation team didn’t take long. When I told the reps that I was having a problem with the Vivint system, they told me that it was time for me to have my system upgraded. I had been with them for so long that my upgrade was at no cost. The security service was fine and all the products that I got worked. I liked the apps on the phone and there was quick response from them when the alarms went off. The system worked for me and I had a good experience with Vivint. If I didn’t, I would have moved on to another security service provider. Vivint is a good company and I have recommended them.

    I stumbled upon Vivint while doing research on an alarm company. I read that they have good customer service and a digital alarm system that you could redo remotely on your phone. The sales team was good and the installation went well. The lady rep who came out told me what they would be doing step-by-step, where the sensors needed to be located, and how I could save money. I’ve had Vivint’s security system for a year and a half now and I’m very satisfied with the service. My favorite feature is the ability to control everything on my phone. Everything was good with Vivint, except that they used to be quicker after the alarm sounded on the two-way remote panel, but there has been more lag time with them. Still, I'd recommend this company. They’re good and reliable, and they have smart vision.

    I have Vivint's security and thermostat at two properties and then at the other property, I have both and a doorbell camera. The security and the thermostat have been perfectly fine but the cameras are a little tricky. They're temperamental and it’s something that happens frequently. It will go offline and then we go through the troubleshooting and we can get it back up. We've never been able to get the actual cameras on the property to work. But the customer service team has always been pleasant. The installers were very courteous and thorough. My experience with Vivint has been inconsistent but overall, it's been good. If it was more fluid with the cameras, not needing so much tweaking and constant troubleshooting it would be perfect.

    Going on my 4th year with them, I had never had problems with the equipment so never had to deal with their customer service. So I resigned with them and not even 2 month into new updated equipment my garage door opener stops working. I called Vivint and the customer rep first tells me I was going to have to pay for someone to come repair it, I explained that this is a new system so I shouldn't have to pay for it to be repaired and they agreed to send a tech to come look at the problem.

    Well they scheduled a tech to come the 23rd of Sept between 12-4, 4:30 on the 23rd no tech. So I called and waited 20 min to talk to rep. They pick up then I get transferred twice then the last rep tells me that I was cancelled and they would have to reschedule me. So I rescheduled the 29th and yep it happened again. No rep came to visit. So I called, Facebook messaged, and internet chatted with Vivint because all 3 of these options take almost 30 min minimum to get someone to communicate with you and even though you get someone to talk to you all they do is read a script or something because their responses are pretty vague and not helpful. My recommendation is to stay away from this company.

    Your salesperson, Dallon ** tricked me. I got royally screwed because of the lies, and yes, I was naive, but he seemed convincing. I just found out that it will cost $1100 to break my old contract (he implied it would be about $200 and Vivint would pay for it). He said Monitronics was discontinuing service in my area (another lie). He said he would be available by cell any time I need him (another lie, he doesn't respond to texts or return calls). So now I have a 5 year contract with a company I hate, and I will not be continuing after that time is up. During that time, I will trash your name every chance I get. Was it worth it?
