My son had a Vivint security system installed in his house. He gave Vivint our name to come and talk to us. We got the doorbell camera, driveway camera, the alarm system and the garage door sensor. It's nice to be able to pull up the camera and look to see what's going on at any given time around your home. That's the nicest feature. Our neighbor who had over the past few years had few break-ins. For so many years, we went with our door unlocked and never even locked it. But those times have obviously changed. Since having these security systems, we had more peace of mind than anything else.
However, the whole times when you call somebody is longer than I'd like to be. The first time I called, I was on hold waiting to talk to somebody for over an hour. The equipment has been what I would consider being less than top-notch equipment. We've had a lot of trouble with the equipment here. Things are rebooting, resetting and locking up. The fortunate thing is, I just retired a year ago. I worked for 28 years with computers and electronics so I'm pretty familiar with how to fix most of these things. But I could see where probably an average person would become frustrated very quickly after they have encountered these problems.
When it comes to the salespersons, they are definitely a high-pressure team that works. They're very efficient at what they do and they put the pressure on about why you need it. And obviously, they don't make you sign the contract. That's something you sign yourself. Even so, the reps have been really good. Once you get on to a live person, they're really quick to help you.
The very first interaction that we had with them, they ended up having the police call our home because the technician forgot to put the system into a test mode when he was working and doing all the stuff so it triggered the alarm. That's a pretty basic thing to have happened and a pretty basic thing that you should do. The things that they're doing are scripted and if it's not something that's followed with a script, they struggle with it a little bit.
Also, I was not impressed with the installation process. When they hooked up the DVR for the cameras, it was basically kind of thrown in behind our stuff and left there literally hanging on the floor. The stuff is not even set on the floor. I actually confronted the installer about that. I told him it was not an acceptable mess in anybody's home to do an installation like that. Honestly, what it was like is they wanted in and out of the house as quickly as they possibly could. And that was just shortcuts that could be taken to help that happen. Hopefully, that would help Vivint realize that there are areas they do need to improve on but I do understand they're a growing and big business. But hopefully, they'll just make a few changes to make it even a better business.

I'm happy with my new security system & I do feel much safer in my home! I do have one concern, wondering why I didn't get any sensors on my windows? My installer didn't mention it & I failed to inquire!! I would like to know more about it!

We were living in an area where break-ins are possible so we got the door security, window security, and fire alarm from Vivint, which were installed back when we were living in Janesville nine years ago. We moved and they had to transfer the alarm system from Janesville to Madison, Wisconsin. Sometimes we’ve triggered the alarm all by ourselves and the smoke has triggered the fire alarm a couple of times. Also, our system went down three years ago and we had trouble getting a service man to come at that time. We had the newer system installed two years ago and it works very well in widescreen. The installation was really good too. We’ve been happy and satisfied and I’ve also recommended Vivint to some people.

Upgrading my home security system. For two straight weeks, the installer did not show up during the scheduled 12 to 4 window I was given AND DID NOT BOTHER TO CALL on both occasions. I was on hold for over 2 hours while customer service tried to figure out if the technician was on his way because the system indicated that he was en route. After this they refused to give me priority scheduling, and also wouldn't even at least guaranteed me an 8 to 12 window.

To anyone thinking of going with Vivint, please heed my advice (and the many others who have gone down this path) and avoid this headache. I wish I would have done my research on this company and seen the negativity (and for a good reason) that surrounds this company. On a Friday, I received a visit from an agent, and I was told during his visit that we could sign the contract, and make any amendments and/or cancel if we were not okay with the terms. After 20 minutes the tech guy was already at our house installing the equipment. The VERY next day, the agent came back to our house, and we told him we wanted to amend our contract from 60 months to 48 months. (We actually needed a security system, which was the only reason why we didn’t completely cancel.) He stated sure that was no problem and that he would send over the new agreement.
The new agreement never came. I spoke to him another time and he still never sent over the contract. He stopped answering our communications. We spoke to Vivint support and everyone stated, “sure, we can make that change. We will send over the new agreement.” The new agreement never came, and of course, we are now outside of the time window to make adjustments. I have spoken to several individuals on the support team and everyone assures me this change has been made within their system, and everything is all good. Yet, when I call again to check with someone new, our account is once again showing the original terms of the agreement, which means I am locked into paying this horrible customer service company for a full 60 months. This service cannot end quick enough. If you are wavering when thinking about getting this service, please DO NOT get it.
This headache is not worth it. They are not helpful, and they claim to fix your problem but they actually never do. You will be stuck in a contract you hate, with a company that doesn’t care, because they just want your money. Something will undoubtedly happen with your service or equipment, and you will need to reach out to them and they will not help you. Please avoid them and go with another company. Do your research, do not get stuck with Vivint. There are better companies out there.

One of my cousins had Vivint and I decided I wanted to get one. The guy that set me up didn't answer the phone when I tried to reach him back. But other than that, everything is good so far. When I call them, they always handle my situation.

I got some good feedback about Vivint from my neighbor who has it. And at that time, I was going out of the country for two weeks and nobody would be in the house. Vivint came and installed the alert that same day. They were courteous and helpful. I have the door camera and it has been good. I like the alerts on and the notifications when I’m away. I can also see who rings the doorbell. But, I have issues with the camera that when I get my newspaper at 4:30 in the morning, there were a lot of times that the camera didn’t pick me up. That aside, Vivint works for me and I’m satisfied.

The Vivint rep came in and asked if we had an alarm system and if we were interested, and I said no. He started to walk away and then my husband asked what it was. He was interested so we called them. I'd never heard of Vivint before so I was super skeptical. We went online and verified, which was a really cool feature, that he was who he said he was. The installation was fairly simple. They brought all their stuff, and we were up and running within half an hour to 45 minutes. The quality of work was good. We've had them for three years now and we're really satisfied with them. Any time we've had an issue, they'd come right out and handle it so I highly recommend them. It's a great service for the price.

When we bought the house, it already had the alarm and solar panels installed. Vivint came out to double check if everything was working as it should be. The tech who came was awesome, very friendly and helpful. He asked if there was any other way he could help me and left me with Vivint's card and phone number to contact if any questions came up in the future. I called customer service once for a sensor that had come out of place and they were very quick in sending a tech out to look at it and then fix it on the spot. I'm absolutely satisfied with Vivint's service.

My wife and I love the system, it works perfectly. The cameras are very high quality, all the equipment is quality stuff, not chintzy like some others we've seen. We love how it syncs up with our existing smart home tech, like the Nest and Echo. The tech was very knowledgeable and professional and did a great job.

At this time, I am extremely dissatisfied. I have requested that a technician come back because on the control panel it says three of the doors are NOT communicating with the panel. I have two doors. I have sent an e-mal to customer support and haven't heard anything back. I don't know my order number.

The stuff technic it's cool, and the service it's perfect??? I can see everything even I'm not at home. The best parts it the space monkey, everything are recorded for at least 30 days. I love the service. I can watch my house anywhere in the world??? I can see every activities front and back or inside if you want to. If someone comes without permission to open your door the alarm system goes police department.

I caught somebody trying to break into my house then I've seen one of those Vivint guys walking around so I start talking to him. Vivint came over to put in the alarm later that day. The sales reps were very professional. Any questions I had, they were able to answer right there on spot. If I had questions they can't answer, a supervisor was able to get on the phone that could answer the question.
Installation went smooth. I’ve had the system installed in three different houses now and every one of them has been great. The first time, the installers walked me through because I had no clue what I was doing. After that, I didn't have to be walk-through because I already had it for two years in the other houses. The installers will always ask, “Do you have any question, anything that I can show you?" They were very professional. My daughter kept bugging them the whole time. The tech was great with her too. She wanted to help and he was letting her put screws on the wall with him.
The biggest thing about the service is the peace of mind knowing that if we’re not there or because I travel for work too, my wife and the kids are safe. She set the alarm at night and she has nothing to worry about. Having the camera functions on there was nice too. I've had Vivint for six years now and I refer them all the time to friends who are looking for alarm systems, as well as with business clients, when they need alarm systems in their actual place of business.

Vivint has poor quality cameras that always give up. It has false alarms and the system is just wack. I would throw it away right now if I was at home. It has all the hookups, bells and whistles, but none of them whistles. Sometimes when I hear a ding and try to zoom in on my phone to see what it is, it takes five minutes for it to come in. They tricked me and I would appreciate it more if they cancel mine, give me a, "Thank you," and take back the notes so I don't have to finish paying for this thing. I'll give their equipment back if they want it.

We got Vivint and it's a definite upgrade from our old system. They offered features that others didn’t and we got a lot more included in the service package such as camera, door locks, motion sensors, door camera and the lock key. I could see what was actually going on at our house when we're not yet home. Their sales rep and installers did a good job as well. If I had a question, I’d ask the sales rep. He was thorough in explaining things and he let us know what was going on. He did a real good job of selling it. Generally, Vivint got the best security system and they should keep on doing what they're doing.

We needed an alarm system to triple the alarms on our home right away and Vivint was able to come on board. We got the standard set up with the smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and motion sensor from them, and the beautiful thing about it was that everything is wireless. It was easier to install and I added three carbon monoxide detectors to upgrade which was easy.
They’ve also been very supportive. We had some problems finding out which of the six units in the house had a low battery and they had a programming error in their system. We were changing the battery in the wrong unit that was indicated on the alarm panel and turned the alarm off. So, they came on board, did their scanning and we finally found the red unit. They also call you right away when there's an alarm which is good and the only situation we have is when usually somebody was late in putting in the code. It's a good system that works and the rates are good as well.

With the Vivint system, I can unlock my doors, and I like that feature a lot. It's also really easy to use, plus the video quality is really good. If the alarm goes off, Vivint calls you fast and makes sure everything is all right. And they're on top of everything. The installer was also real nice. I'd tell others to get Vivint.

Vivint sales rep sold me the alarm system and service. When they came to install the equipment the internet provider speed was not sufficient for the equipment. My area is very behind on internet speed. The tech installing the equipment sent an email to the sales rep Devin ** to give me 30 days to try the system instead of the normal 3 days to cancel. I never heard from the sales rep again. Many phone calls and hours spent on the phone with tech support and billing because they billed my bank account for a camera which was supposed to be financed.
They only returned a credit for less than they charged me. I wrote many emails complaining to no avail. One tech came out and basically disconnected all the cameras and left because I told him that Vivint service was no good. I complained about the tech but was told they have no way of doing anything about it. I tried to speak to the sales rep supervisor only to be told they do not return calls. Since Aug 2017 that I had Vivint installed, I have not had any service for which I continue to pay. I am seriously considering filing a claim in small claims court against these thieves that continue to rip me off. I can't get any help from any of them. DON'T CHOOSE THIS LOUSY COMPANY!!

I’m very happy with the system. Works as advertised by the sales rep. The sales rep and technician were very knowledgeable. Had an excellent experience with both aspects. I really enjoy the ease of use regarding the smart phone app. It is very nice to manage your whole home security system with one app. I highly recommend this company and their product.

I travel a lot and I had some vandalism in my home. My garage was not protected and I wanted to build a safe room for my family. I wanted more motion detectors and more security. I searched online and looked at Vivint's home security system. I got the door lock, the doorbell camera, some motion detectors and for emergencies, the emergency alarm. Rene, the installer, was quite pleasant, but Vivint should improve their customer service and particularly their tech service. I don't have confidence in their equipment. I had a couple of false alarms and I've had to call in several times regarding the equipment malfunction, but the people I finally get in contact with are not very knowledgeable. 50% of them were very helpful and good, but the other 50% were worthless and I was very frustrated.
The system has gone down so many times I'm concerned that someone can hack into my internet and check on my system. Its security seems very weak and can be breached. If my internet goes down, then the system goes down. The internet system goes down a lot in this area and that's concerning. The guy would come out and put these boosters and even though that happened, my system still goes down. I was much happier with my old ADT system and I felt a bit safer. I left ADT because eventually when I would call them regarding an alarm or a concern, I'd have to go through an automated system. I don't have to go through as much with Vivint, but many times I don't get the appropriate person, so I would not recommend Vivint services.

We are very pleased with Vivint. Having them is a way to monitor our home when we're away. We would be able to see the things that are going on even if we only have the doorbell camera. Once I saw how it worked for my daughter, so I was excited when the sales rep came over. I then called my daughter and asked her about it, and she said that they haven't had any issues or problems and that encouraged me to go with Vivint. We had another service at that time and he was saying that my husband would be able to watch the house while he was away. That impressed him, so we decided to go ahead and sign up for Vivint.
The sales rep was very nice, courteous and professional. He explained what the benefit of having Vivint and how we would be able to get more out of this service than the service that we currently had. We were impressed with him. He took the time to explain everything and made sure that we understood the features, then he signed us up. The installer was also professional and it didn't take him very long to do what he needed to do. He also took the time to explain everything and get everything working in the correct order. He did a good job and was efficient. We had someone come out once it may have been more of a user error than a performance error. When the salesperson came out, there was an installer in the area and then he came in within the next 20 minutes. After the installation, we were good to go.
We all have their windows and doors, the smoke detector, the carbon monoxide, the doorbell camera, and the glass break from them. We had all that with the other service except for the glass break and the cameras. We decided that was an addition to our home. I had to get used to the glass break and it has to get used to the different sounds in our home. The monitors of the service are very professional and very nice. Whenever something happens, they always call to check and make sure that everything is okay. Everything has worked perfectly. My iPhone and his phone are both synced to the system.
When they're people at the front door, my husband talks and asks them why they're there and what are they doing. He enjoys that so much. We signed up with Vivint in June and so far, it's been a pleasant experience with them. We have had false alarms such as when we had set the glass break off in our kitchen until it got used to the sound. My daughter said it's the frequency of it. So if a pot hits the floor, on occasion, it was actually glass. But if anything hits the floor and made a tingling sound or something that sounded as if it was a glass breaking, then it would set the alarm off. Vivint has been what we needed and I would recommend them to others.

I've got a door camera and a camera outside of my garage, and I have a security system for smoke and sensors. I also had these features when I was with ADT and I wasn’t really happy with their fire response services, so I switched to Vivint. David, the salesperson, was nice enough. Most of the time there was no problem with the installers and they were really good. But one of them was argumentative with me and then he realized I was right. Other than that, they were all usually very professional. However, I don’t like the product and I wish I never got it. The door camera has been replaced many times now and I have given up on it. Then the other camera picks and chooses when it wants to pick something and some days it gets better than others. I wouldn’t recommend them.

There is a gal in my network's group that I highly respect and she is one of the Vivint reps. I had ADT and I was very happy with them, but when she was talking about the camera access, I wanted to get the camera outside of the gate. There was no way to see who was out my front door, which is inside of my gate, so I wanted to have the doorbell. I had two doorbells, one was inside by the door, and the other was outside at the gate. I got the indoor monitoring, the motion sensors, and the three doors are monitored, but things didn't start out very well.
I wanted to know who was at my gate before somebody came in, but the guy told me he couldn't put the camera outside the door or outside the gate, that I needed to go to Home Depot and buy another doorbell to go outside the gate because they disconnected the doorbell that was there and put it inside by my door. The techs came back out again and they were here for hours. The supervisor kept coming out, and the whole thing was rinky-dink. These guys didn't know what the devil they were doing and they couldn't even get it to work. Vivint said they wouldn't, but they sent another technician out. This fella knew what he was doing and things are working now.
Apparently, he was one of the first people, and he's very knowledgeable. He came out after I spent another $20 on the doorbells for outside the thing. When he came over, he looked at me and said there was no reason that camera couldn't be out there, so he moved it. It was unpleasant and I was kicking myself. It turns out that a lot of the employees are from Best Buy, and they're not properly trained. I know this because a friend of mine unrelated to me came over, saw the Vivint sign in the front yard and asked how I like it. They were considering it, so I started to say I hate it, that they don't know what they're doing and the system doesn't work right. I had a series of false alarms and I got to the point I didn't use it.
I was very upset and I wrote Vivint a very inclusive letter. I itemized the two false alarms, that nobody could figure out why it went off. I'm an aesthetician and I was working on somebody's space. I got a notice and I had to come home from work. One of the times, I didn't hear the notice because I had my phone turned off. Again, I was working, and the police came out. I got a warning that it was going to cost me the next time. The concept is good, but I wished I stayed with ADT and said forget it. I told Vivint that I wanted to renege even though it's past the three days, but they said I can't get out of the contract. It was only a week afterward that I started having problems and the gal who sold the system to me was sorry, read the letter and said it was ridiculous.
When I spoke to Vivint and they said they'd send some more people out, I told them that I'm not the kind of person who goes online and starts degrading companies. It is within my ability to do so, and it didn't seem to matter. However, in all of that interim, I decided to sell my house. I pulled my house, and supposedly, the system was transferable, but I have to pay off the equipment, and it turns out I ended up doing a rental instead of buying right now. They insisted on using the one that's in there and I'm paying for equipment and a thing that I can't use. My experience was stupid.

I have the panel, the doorbell camera, thermostat, garage door opener, the door and window alarms, and a glass break and fire alarm sensors from Vivint and I've been really happy with the system. Every time I've called in, it was a pleasant experience. And when I moved, I had somebody come uninstall it from my old house to reinstall it in my new house and it was a pleasant experience as well. They've done a very professional installation. I can't even tell that they were here putting things on the walls. I'd recommend Vivint and I'd tell my friends to look into it. If they had any questions, I'd show them my features and let them see how easy it is.

My husband and I are out of town a lot so we needed a security system. And then, Vivint came to our house. From what I understand they're not supposed to solicit coming door to door but then again they weren't pushy. We got the security system and five cameras including the thermal one and for the doorbell. We also have the Nest. Once programmed, it'll hold for two or three days and then it deletes itself. We’ve had Vivint for about a year now but for the past two months, we’ve been having issues with the system.
We still can't get our camera over the garage to work. We have trouble half the time opening and closing the garage door. And we constantly have to update the panel. We had to go to the airport once and all of a sudden it started acting up again. We had to remove the panel and reboot it, which took more than 15 minutes. And we've had to do that like five times so far since we've had the systems. It's been a nightmare for us. And we're not sure what's going on with it. I assume it's a software issue but we’ll call and ask them when we get the chance. So, I'm dissatisfied with Vivint given that we wouldn’t know whether the house is secure or not.

I was happy with Vivint's service, but no longer. They have pulled through my walls but they did not repair it at all. It was their fault, but I have to send money to have the original security system company come back and wire everything together. I'm not satisfied with Vivint.

The Vivint sales reps were good. They had a package deal and whatever extra I added would have cost me an extra $3 so it ended up being a good deal. I got door sensors, doorbell, motion sensors and the touch and screen control like a mini iPad included in the service package. We made a deal and he made a call then someone else showed up to install. It was real quick. They plugged in the thing on the outlet, ran the wires exposed and drilled a hole for the doorbell. They did the same thing for the control. But I couldn't have all the wires in my house exposed so I ended up spending extra money to hire an electrician to do it the right way and have the wires run inside the walls. But other than that, everything else was fine and I would definitely recommend Vivint. They were very accurate and when we had a couple of issues like a false alarm, they were right on top in a matter of seconds. I got a phone call from them so that was actually good.

I don’t live in a gated community that has security so I thought that having a security system would be something that makes sense when you have children. The other company that has a little bit more branding didn’t service my area so I had to find somebody else who’d come out and install. I got Vivint's doorbell ringer, two exterior cameras, the shatter for the windows, the movement sensors on the windows and doors, and I can access that on my app. I also got the door locks, so I can lock and unlock through the app.
However, I can’t do the two-way talking on the doorbell ringer like they advertised. That goes out a lot and the sensor sometimes doesn’t pick up people who actually walk to the door, although it’ll pick up a car in the street sometimes. Also, even though they keep two weeks of footage, I don’t have the ability to save that footage from the app either. Somebody came up to my door, saying they were the FBI. I could see the recording, but there was no way for me to save it or forward it. Also, the night vision on their cameras is pixelated, so it doesn’t show up as clear as it does on the one that I’ve been seeing at Costco. Then there are a few other ones, like when I walk into Best Buy, and they have all these really clear pictures. My fiancé just got Ring installed at the other house, and he doesn’t have the problems that I have.
The customer service is 100%. Everybody who called was super professional and was more than willing to help. It’s just the product. The response is immediate. I forgot that I stayed at home and I opened my back door to go talk on the phone. Then, the alarm went off. At one time, it just went off. A fork dropped on to the floor in the kitchen, and the shatter thing picked it up. But when I called in, the lady walked me through on how to make it a little less desensitized in the kitchen, so that worked.
Overall I’m all for a home security system. I heard there was a way that you could buy the equipment and then just get serviced by someone like Vivint. Even though I bought everything outright, I just pay the monthly service. I didn’t want to be locked in that contract. I feel like the stuff should be working a little bit better for what I paid for almost $2,000.

We were purchasing a home and it's an investment so we wanted to make sure it was protected. We also have children and I work in the security-based world. So, I wanted to make sure that our house was safe. We liked the fact that Vivint's system was all tech-savvy, very user-friendly based on the advertisements that we saw, and you could do everything with it from your smartphone. We got a service package from them and we have the doorbell camera, the rear camera, glass break sensors, and few other things.
So far, our experience has been very upsetting. One camera gives a notification for literally everything from bugs to the wind blowing, and the other one picks up nothing. We've had visitors come and pass the front door, packages dropped off and things picked up off the porch, and that camera had no recollection or record of them. I probably had 15 times where my kids came in and out of the front door in the last three days, and there are only two clips up there. The front door lock is also not working at all and we have to manually lock it. It was giving us false readings, too. I would be at work opening my phone and it would tell me that the front door was unlocked. I would drive all the way home from work only to find out it was locked. So the system wasn't reading it correctly and this went on for a couple of months.
We complained several times about these issues because we weren't getting satisfied and we had a few rude advisors on the phone when we called in. We told one advisor that they charge us a decent amount of money every month for the service but the service is not working properly. And he pretty much told us that if we wanted to get out of the contract, we have to pay $3,000, so we needed to just deal with it. We weren't very happy about that and we're trying to decide whether or not it's worth it for us to pay the money just to be out of it. They sent somebody out who did something but it's always a temporary fix. The system worked for a few days then it went back to doing what it was doing.

I have always wanted to get Vivint. I like everything that they offered. So, when their salesman came and made me the offer, we signed up for it. The service package that I purchased got the cameras at the door, and then I had a camera put in the back. I had all my windows covered on the lower level as well. I have a bi-level house so that was a real plus. Their sales representative was excellent too. He was very informative and knew what he was talking about. I was very, very pleased.
The installers who came to my house were very good as well. Though I had some problems and had to have a salesman come out, he knew right away what the problem was. The only other thing I was going to call them about is that the salesman tried to adjust the sensitivity on the doorbell. He said he rolled it back a little, but it sounded almost off. Overall, we've had an alarm system in our home for 30 years. We've had Briggs the longest, and Protection1 next, but Vivint is by far the best we've had.

I was formerly with ADT and I know a couple of my neighbors have Vivint. I went online to do a little research and to me, Vivint was a bit more advanced than what ADT was offering at that time. Vivint has keyless entry and I could access my alarm system by downloading an app. They also have an option where I could control my PC units from my phone as well and the price was just about what I was paying for ADT, so I went with Vivint. The package I got has the keyless entry and they gave me one camera that I can place in case I wanted to monitor on my phone a specific room or area.
I only had them come over once and that was for the initial installation. The team had the uniform and the technician made sure that I knew how to operate everything before he left, which was really good. Every time I have an issue and I call, they usually try to get me to troubleshoot it and most of the time, it works. If they can't fix it over the phone, the other option is to send a technician, but that has never happened. The last time I called Vivint, I had some codes come up on my alarm that I was unaware of. I got somebody within a minute or two and the gentleman troubleshooted it. Everything that happened on the phone went really well. They were professional and I would recommend them.

One of my friends works for Vivint now. So, we went with them it try it out before we tried anything else. I told him hwat I was looking for and he showed me what he had. I asked him about pricing and he came and set it up. We have the keypad on the door and it doesn't work. This is our second one as the first one didn't work either. But we haven't been really pressing the issue because he lives far away from us. I didn't want him to send a different person out to do that, since we've already been dealing with him. So when he's going to be in the area, he lets us know. And once we can be home as well we can get it fixed. Other than that, I'd tell my friends that the price is good with Vivint and that it was a good experience with them.

We've been using Vivint for six months now and it's good. Their door to door salesperson came over and then we got their fire alarm, sensors and cameras. Everything with the installation went smoothly though sometimes the app is unavailable and I got to reinstall them. But that’s not an issue.

I called and went with Vivint because of their prices. Most of the time, their customer service's good but sometimes, it has down times. I had to call about my doorbell camera a few times and I got hung up on once or twice. But the guy who did the installation was professional and good. He came in, explained what he was getting ready to do and was in and out within about an hour. I would tell my friends that Vivint is a good service and that they should get it.

We're very happy with Vivint and we've been with them for three years now. The sales rep was good and he sold the system. The installers came, hooked the system up, stood at the panel in the house and showed me how it works. Sometimes, it was hard for me, but the guy stayed here and showed me until we got it fixed and until I was satisfied that I could work it. They also helped us set up our PIN and all the stuff.
We can alarm the house to stay or away, and the system is easy to use. There was one time when we went out of town and both mine and my husband’s cell phone rang, telling us that our alarm system went off. My husband forgot to lock the shop door. Our next door neighbor walked in to return the tool that was borrowed, laid it on the counter and left so, that set off the alarm. The security system worked very well. We had a break-in about two to three blocks from the house. We feel very safe and protected whenever we're away and we alarm the house because we know that if it goes off, Vivint will call us first and then call the cops. We told our neighbor next door about Vivint and they got the system hooked up to their home, too. I would recommend Vivint.

A sales rep came knocking at the door and he was casual in the Vivint outfit and it looked professional. And it so happened that I was shopping for an alarm system. I'm really satisfied with Vivint's service. I changed out my computer on the wall which was originally from AT&T and I now have the one from Verizon. I like the AT&T one better than the Verizon. I'm 66 years old and hard to change and I dislike the window that features on the main window, but it's workable.
The installers were really professional and I would definitely recommend them. On four different occasions when something happened and I needed help, I had no problems with Vivint at all. If something goes wrong with the unit, they come over and repair it. I had three different technicians out here and they were all doing their stuff. One of them was knowledgeable and didn't second guess stuff. He didn't have to call somebody to find out what the problem was. He knew what it was. Vivint is a little on the higher end of the scale but they give good service and the system seems to be working for at least two years now.

We’ve had Vivint for 18 years, we haven’t had any trouble with it. Their representative was really knowledgeable, and their installer did a good job. In fact, when we moved, we brought their system with us, and the process was good. They unhooked everything, brought it over here, and hooked it all back up. The same guy who installed it in the other house did it, and it was pretty quick. The system works well. And at one time, my daughter came in and forgot about it and set the alarm off. So, they called us, but she knew the codes, so it was all cleared up.

We have our security and smoke alarm system with Vivint for seven years now. We're with them for their price and because the system is wireless. Recently, we had some issues with our smoke alarms in the basement and main floor. The alarms were expired and Vivint sent one but never sent the other one. It has been about two months now and I called them back a couple of times already. Other than that, Vivint’s service is good and I’d recommend them.

My wife and I purchased a home with a Vivint system already installed. I called to schedule activation and instruction on the system. I was given a 4 hour window for which I took off of work to accommodate. When the four hours passed, I called customer service only to be told that the installer cancelled my ticket because of a family emergency. But, no one bothered to call me and explain the circumstances. When I contacted customer service I asked how I would be compensated for my lost time. All I was offered was a rescheduled appointment. I then spoke to a manager who offered no explanation or apology. My first impression of this company is very poor. I'll be looking into alternatives.

I've given it a three stars only because Vivint customer service is absolutely amazing. If nothing else I can say good about Vivint is that their customer service is phenomenal! Now I'll go on to the not-so-good stuff. I was tricked into a five-year contract. That's first. The technician that showed up 2 years ago to go over my contract with me specifically had told me that it was a 12 month contract. He then walked out to his truck and came back in with what he told me was a financial agreement to have money come out of my credit card every month. Not reading what I was signing, I was actually signing a contract for 5 years that started the bad taste in my mouth with Vivint.
When I called back to complain about it I was told, "While you sign the contract there's nothing we can do." My fault. I should have read what I was signing. Since then I had faulty equipment. I would have alarms going off for no reason. Had the cops out here and my five and eight year old got the crap scared out of them. I have sensors that go bad all of the time. Batteries, it had to be replaced non-stop. The only thing that I have not had an issue with is my actual panel. I have now been with Vivint for over 2 years and I called the other day to get a quote on a security camera outside only to be quoted the full price meaning over $400 I would have to pay to have a security camera installed and I've been with them for over 2 years so customer loyalty definitely isn't something they're familiar with.
I was told that, "You can always call back next year to see if we can give you some kind of discount." Meanwhile I'm having my front yard still vandalized and there's nothing I could do about it because my own security company won't work with me. When my contract is up I cannot run fast enough from this company and actually find a company that knows what customer loyalty means. Other than that, I like the peace of mind of having a security system in my home but I really wish they would take care of their customers a little bit better being the fact that word of mouth is the best source of business and when you've got someone with a huge fan base doesn't make for a good word of mouth business arrangement.

I got the basic service from Vivint. It covers the house, the perimeters and a couple of motion detectors. I wasn’t overly pleased with my previous contractor and I decided it was time to try something new. Vivint reps have been very knowledgeable, friendly and he didn't talk over our heads. He told us the process, what was available and we kept in touch with him even after the fact.
The installation team was very good. They went about their business and did what they needed to do. They explained anything that they were changing, then they went over the keypads and remotes. I was able to switch to Vivint with some of my old equipment and so far, it's been very good. I was surprised when the monitor spoke to me as I didn't know it had that function. I had a couple accidental set-offs, but everything was handled well. It's easy to activate. I just back the car out, shut the garage door, and activate the system by using a keypad or my phone. It's more convenient compared to the one I had before where I had to put in the code and run for the door before the time runs out and I set off the alarm myself.

The Vivint sales agent did a good job trying to sell, but I never realized that I signed something for a system for 60 months because he was talking so fast. I thought he said six months. I wasn't planning on paying that long for 60 months for an alarm system. They told me I have to pay it off. But I can't just pay all of it right now. I'm on a fixed income and I got other stuff to pay. In fact, I'm behind on my payment right now and it's because of my job. Their rep asked if I was going to file for bankruptcy. I said no. It's not that serious. She said they'll turn it over to the collection agency. I said, "If that's the case, I might as well try to pay the full amount instead of paying it every month." They said another way I could get out of it is if I can find somebody that want their service. Then I can give it to them. But I don't know anybody that want the service.
When somebody would ring in the doorbell, it does not work. I felt, because I wasn't paying it a while, they would cut it off. But the rep I talked to said they don't do that and that she'll send somebody out. She probably did set up a date for it but she didn't set up a date for somebody to come out here to fix my doorbell. And she said, "We can take it off but $3." So I said I might as well keep it if that's all this stuff purchase for $3." They only came out one-time for my doorbell. And the rep said something like, "Everything should be working."

We have the camera doorbell, the display, air conditioning and the thing that turns on the power to the lamp from Vivint. I wanted to be able to see who was at the door and the outlet thing was neat. I'm satisfied with them. There are a couple of issues here and there, little misunderstanding as far as when I had my windows done, but all in all, they were good. They had to replace the sensors, and I was under the impression that that would be done but that was at my cost. The interaction with their sales rep was mostly fun and cordial. The installation team was very professional and the experience with them was very nice. Their customer service is good and I was pleasantly surprised with their level of professionalism. They are better than a lot of other security services that are available.

I purchased three cameras, a doorbell, a thermostat and a control panel from Vivint. They were friendly and helpful on the install day but the things that they had promised us initially, like pricing, weren’t what they had said. They changed their packaging slogan, so it was misleading, and the quality of the cameras was not good. We’re still having issues with their camera as they’re constantly going offline. We’ve had multiple people from Vivint come over and check it and it still hasn’t been resolved, so I may be canceling it soon.

Vivint's sales reps were professional and the installation went good. The installer showed up on time. However, our panel disconnects from the wi-fi all the time. We're supposed to be able to see the house from my phone, and a lot of times I don’t get connection on my phone. We let them know that. We just had a situation where they came out. The guy didn’t plug the speaker. We didn’t understand why he would at that time. They have good cameras and that's my favorite feature. However, the system has been off and on. When it works, it works but we have more downtime.

The best thing was that the installer came in and went through the process of what he was going to do. He set some expectation with us and then went to work. We just moved in when Vivint's sales rep caught us. He was a very wonderful young man. However, I didn't understand everything that he said at first, but it turned out okay and the system seems to be working just fine. At one point in time, we thought about having them come and take the system out, but it would cost $3000 to have that done. We're paying $12 a month towards the cost of the equipment, however, we would prefer just paying it in one lump sum. The installers did a very nice, clean job and it didn't take very long. It's cool that I can put the system on by my phone. Plus, it's comforting that if we are not home and somebody breaks in, the alarm goes off and the police would be here.

We have Vivint for five years now. We needed an alarm and they gave us a good deal. They installed it really quickly and any issue I have, I call them. They have the 24 hour service and they help us right away. We usually call them to add more stuff and to help us through the process like when we changed our thermostats in the house and connected it to the system. The only thing negative is that they require a year before you can cancel. At some point, we're going to have to sell the house and get rid of the alarm which means we have to do that a year prior.

I like the system but it took 4 trips to get it operating right. I went 4 days with it not working and paid for those days. Not happy!! Plus my salesmen Justin ** was good at selling but after that he never returned my emails when I had a problem. So customer service needs improvement. Now that it is working I'm fine with it.

A Vivint sales person came to my door offering a trial. Had me sign a contract using my husband's name even though he was away working. The salespeople use underhanded sleezy tactics to get you to sign a contract. When I called to cancel my Vivint account before my trial was up I was given an appointment date and time for the uninstall to happen. No one showed up so I called them to ask where they were and was told because I did not confirm my cancellation by email I am locked into the contract. I made a point of telling them that the contract is fraudulent as my husband is the main applicant and he was not there to sign it.
After 2 months, many calls, and many false promises of help I was told my husband had been removed and now the contract is just in my name. However I did not sign the contract in all required places. Also my correct legal name is not on the contract but they refuse to cancel it. Not only that but all my equipment was installed very poorly (it is visibly crooked on my wall/door) as well as my door bell camera does not always record video even after it has been rang. Vivint has probably the worst customer service I had ever had to deal with. Do not get involved with this company in any way.

The price of the local company that I was with kept going up, plus they didn't offer some of the features that Vivint offered. I like their cameras and the doorbell camera where you can talk to people at the door. The process with the sales reps went really well. I talked to them on the phone and then they sent somebody out. Everything that he told us, they could provide, and would happen when exactly as he said. Also, the installation team was fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them. We're extremely happy, and I recommend Vivint to everybody. I would tell friends that Vivint is hassle-free, the price is reasonable, and it's locked in. I don't think they'll find a better deal.

I like Vivint a lot. I've had a couple of other security providers before. But once you had their system, it was like that was all there was and that was what I didn't like about the other companies. I like that Vivint periodically gives me new information or things that I might be interested in. They also notify me if I have a loose sensor. I've also had changed the battery without having to call in a technician, which I liked. They're willing to walk me through how to fix something over the phone, if I can't get to the internet, which was during the hurricane. They were a little more expensive but it was worth it. I would recommend them highly.

The sales reps of Vivint were very informative. They answered all my questions, told me what the features were going to be, and asked me what I wanted on the system. They gave me the pricing and I feel very good about it. Everything went as planned and I got cameras around the house from them. However, we got confused about the time and dates they were supposed to come out and set up. Still, I had a good service on the installation. My family feels more secure since we have the system. And their service so far is fine except I've had some problems with the actual monitoring of my cameras. They keep going on and off. There’s no detection of motion on some of my cameras even though we’re walking around the area.

I love the service. I have the doorbell camera and an inside camera. I use the doorbell camera for my delivery because I’m not at the property during the day. The doorbell camera with the motion detector lets me know if someone has come to the property, so I like that feature. If I had one thing to complain about, it would be the amount of hold time when I call. But even though the customer service is poor, I feel really confident about Vivint, more confident than I have felt about any other security system that I’ve had. I’ve had Vivint now for quite a while, and I haven’t soured on them yet.

The installation team of Vivint was fine and the system worked fine when he installed it but the service has been poor considering how much I’m paying for it monthly. It is not working and I have not been satisfied with it at all. I like the video doorbell but I called in about a few weeks ago about that. It works when it wants to. It rings but when I'm not at home and I want to see who’s at my door, by the time it gets done buffering, whoever is at my door is gone.
Then the remote garage door control doesn’t work too. It keeps giving me an error message. That feature hasn’t worked for months but I don’t use it on a regular basis. I keep forgetting to call from home to troubleshoot that with them though. When I told their rep about the buffering with my doorbell, she passed it off. She said that I needed to check with my internet provider and see what my internet speed was. I wouldn’t recommend Vivint. I'm under a contract so I haven't canceled yet but Vivint isn’t holding up their end of the contract. They should have equipment that works. I'm considering canceling my service and going back to what I had originally.

My husband's wallet was stolen, and we were concerned they had the address and everything. We got the sensors on all doors and windows and the keypad in the house from Vivint. The service was doing fine for a while and then last summer we had issues with the smoke detectors. Some of the sensors were not programming. They came out three times and three different techs tried to fix the problem. Finally, the last one installed new smoke detectors next to the detectors we already had, fixed some of the sensors, and took one sensor that we had in the shed down. And so far we haven't had any issues except the garage door every now and then will say the main overhead garage door is open which is not. We stood right in front of the garage and the doors are closed and sensor says it's open. They're pretty quick to respond and they're very friendly and helpful, but Vivint could have more knowledgeable techs.

Vivint called today for a payment and I told them, “No, we don’t want them anymore”. And one of the reasons is that that horn comes on all the time, and I have two panels, and it scares to death the animals I’ve got, so I just don’t want it anymore. I would try to shut it off and then here comes the fire department, the police and it is just a mess to deal with. The cameras that they put on the inside of house tip over all the time, so it's like not even having a camera. The cameras are not up to par at all. The outside ones are okay though.
I was supposed to sign up for two years, but then when I talked to them on the phone, they said, “No, the paper you signed was for five years”. My eyes are really bad, so there’s no way I can read the fine print. I just went by what the young guy told me and that’s the only reason I signed. The guy was in his 20s and he sounded like he knew everything he was talking about and I was sold on it. Also, they are too expensive for the service that they give -- $300 or 400 every time they called me. I am very disappointed with them.

The rep that came to our door was cool. He was informative and tried to explain everything, and everything he said was pretty much as it was. Even better than that, he gave me his cell number in case I have questions. I'm actually calling him since then. The deal he showed up got my wife interested, and it made sense. The lady who did installation did a great job. The rep that signed us up said she was a good installer, and she was. She was quick and trained with what she was doing. My wife loves the Vivint service package a lot more than me, but we do like the video doorbell and the door lock. Only negative we have is we want to add more cameras. You can keep adding on to it provided your internet is good, but our internet won't allow it and I'm blaming my carrier.
If I'm asked what I think about the Vivint package, I'd say it's a good plan. It doesn't apply to everybody though, so I'll tell people to do research and check it out before they make decision. But things worked great for me. We've added on light switches because they didn't really offer those. They instead offered something plugged into the wall and then you plug your light into it. We couldn't use that option. Most of our lights are in the ceiling already, so they were hooked to a switch. But Vivint worked well with Z wave, so I was able to get some Z waves light switches. Vivint then paired up with the master base. We have another neighbor that got Vivint as well, and they really seem to like it.

Worst installation experience ever! Installation was scheduled for 10-12; tech was on time but he didn't leave until around 3 pm and was unable to complete the install stating he did not have all of the equipment to complete the job. He left our home trashed with boxes, uninstalled cameras, drill shavings on the floor and most importantly the thermostat's not working in cold weather. We had to call the service desk and they made him come back and fix the thermostats so we would have heat. They sent him back the next day and he was still unable to complete the job and this time, he did not replace the screens back in the windows and again left drill shavings all over our floor. When we asked what was the problem he stated he did not have the time to get the door lock and the external drive working. Then he told us that we would have to call and schedule another appointment and he left!
We called and to schedule another appointment and could not get scheduled until on a Sunday between 12-4; another tech showed up this time at 6:15 pm! I must say that this guy [x]new what he was doing much better than the first tech, however he stayed in our home that night until around 9:00 pm. He was unable to complete the job on the installation of the (space monkey) hard that is used to store all of your video recordings. We are not complaining about the second tech because he really tried to complete everything, however, he stated that he had to correct a lot of mistakes made by the previous tech. Furthermore, he explained that the installation of the cameras are incorrect. The first tech drilled large holes through the wall and brick and barely covered them with spackle and there are loose bare electrical wires showing.
We really believe that he damaged our home with this type of installation and the second tech acknowledged this. We were told again we need to call and schedule another appointment to complete the install. We sent an email with the above facts and pictures of the bare wires protruding out the wall to a contact in the support whom we talked to before and there has been no contact. Per the contract agreement you have 3 business days to cancel the contract via mail or telegram. It's a shame and awful the way we have been treated. Vivint please look for your telegram tomorrow with our notice of cancellation!!

I got robbed and, wanting to be safe, I searched for a security system. I then found Vivint. However, my experience with them hasn't been good. I was going to cancel on the third day but they didn't let me. I'm always having different issues with them. They wanted to charge us more than what they had told us. And then, if they did something, the cameras aren't working, or our system isn't working. All our problems are on file and Vivint has it. But there's no way I could cancel it anymore. I'm stuck with them for four years because of a contract which I didn't even know was a contract. The technician said that I have to pay all my equipment, which was up to $4,000, and that's why it's for four years. I got cameras, sensors and the doorbell camera.
The reps helped me out but I always tell them what the issue is and I've even gone into different fights with them. They tell one thing and then, their guys come out with some different stuff. I'm tired with that. And then, one time, the system, didn't work for almost two weeks. I want to be safe and my security is not working. They came in a week and a half. They gave me a credit for $25 but I wasn't happy with that. I want my CCTV working every day. I wish that my contract wasn't that long. I'm happy that I can watch my family but I'm always having issues with them. I wouldn't really recommend them.

I have the doorbell camera from Vivint. I can turn it off and on in the app that's on my phone when I want to which makes it very convenient. I can unlock my doors or lock them different times at night. Plus it will tell me if someone is coming in or if somebody is trying to or has broken a window. It also tells me if a door and my garage door were left open. There are several things that are good about the system and I feel safe with having it.
The sales rep was very nice and knowledgeable. He told me all about the services that Vivint provides. Installation took about an hour and a half and the installers were quick to install all the door locks and the sensors on the windows. He went through the monitor on how to operate that. And I've been very happy with Vivint except lately. If I have something wrong, it takes them at least three weeks to come to correct it and I think that's too long. They have to come quite a ways because I live in South Louisiana.
However, the doorbell camera goes off quite often when there's no one there. If a car goes down the street, the sun will hit the side of the car and ricochet off on my neighbor's window across the street. And it makes my doorbell ring. Especially with rain pouring at 6:00 at night, it rings a lot. I've done everything. They kept giving me new doorbells. But they said it's the just way it's put in and the way it's aimed. I like the services but they're way too expensive. With the things that I've got, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to keep it. And if my contract runs out, then, I'll probably have to change but I'd hate to. But I'm paying almost three times more than what I did with my last one. I'm 80 and I have to cut back because there's no way I can recoup my income.

I liked the features that Vivint offers, like the doorbell and then the smart keypad. However, I didn't like the overall service. We were upsold by their salesperson who came door-to-door in our neighborhood. What happened was, they sell this master lock, the deadbolt for the front door. But my door has the deadbolt and the handle together. However, the person from Vivint said it was supposed to be separate. He then told me to go to my local hardware store and just get the handle that wa separate from the master lock so he may install it for me when he installs the keypad lock.
So, I did that. But it turns out, the guy didn't have experience with it. He was there until 10:00 o'clock at night, trying to do the install, which was only supposed to take a couple of hours. So we didn't have dinner till 10:00 o'clock at night. On top of that, he didn't even bring the right equipment for the door lock and he made a mess like drilling holes around the house. He then asked if he could borrow my cleaning supplies, like a vacuum or a dustpan and broom.
And then, the door handle broke. I only knew that a week later. I couldn't even get into my house because the handle, the thing to unlock the lock wouldn't work. I called Vivint's representative and he told me to call the technician. And then he added that as they were trying to tell me before, they were doing this as a favor to get my Vivint stuff installed. I insisted that they offered it. Had I known this, I probably wouldn't have gone with that. Or maybe did more research and tried to see if there's another company out there that had more experience.
And Vivint didn't even help me. I had to go pay a handyman to fix my door and then I ended up having to buy another door handle because the way their technician installed it was no good. I had to enter through the back door instead. I called to complain to whoever's in charge of the phones. Then, I told them those, but their representative only said she will relay it to the manager. I got no response back.

The customer service at Vivint has been excellent, and I like that there is someone that comes and is able to assist me. They can answer questions and small problems. The technical department was good and the installation team was excellent as well. However, something was not explained to customers when they purchased the service as it's a policy of the company to be aware of a customer service issue especially if I decided to close and would want to transfer Vivint. I certainly don't want the company to continue to charge me. Nevertheless, I would still recommend them to others.

I got indoor motion detectors, three outdoor cameras and a doorbell camera from Vivint. I wasn't satisfied with the people who installed the system. They were on their personal vehicles and had nothing on that said that they were from Vivint. Then, they just went in and put batteries in the alarm system I had previously, which was as old as the house and converted them. They told me that they'd give me the new ones no matter what but they haven't done that yet. Also, I found two of their service guys in the room where I have thousands of dollars worth of tools.
I've also haven't been able to use my motion detectors since I have to bypass them in the house because if I don't, it'll go off within an hour. I talked to them about it and they told me to call their service department. I thought they were the guys who installed the system and I don't want them out at all. Another thing was they were supposed to pay off my previous alarm company since I was still on a contract for a year and a half. They told me to get a statement that showed how much I owed, which was $600, to buy my contract out. When I got that, I called rep who sold me the system but she never answered. She answered my calls the first few times I called her during the start of the whole process, but after three weeks and after I got the statement from she wouldn't answer my calls at all. They never paid my contract out.

I like the service of Vivint so far and I appreciate it. It’s easy to use and maneuver as far as setting the alarm before we leave using the app. It’s user-friendly so that’s a plus. Their sales representative was good. He explained to me pretty much everything, how the equipment worked, what kind of system I was going to get, and my monthly payments. Their people stayed until everything was installed as far as making sure that everything was working properly and whatnot. They were very helpful.
I would recommend Vivint. This is the only house security system that I've ever had and my experience was good. Everything that they did is spot on. The only thing I was a little confused on was how to get the certificate to send it to my sons. I tried to do it online but it didn't let me. I called their rep but I waited on the line for almost 30 minutes and didn’t even get a chance to speak to anybody. I just hung up.

Two years ago, a gentleman from Vivint walked to my door. He wanted to talk to me about the product he had that he thought would be very good for me. I opened my door to him. He was a good guy while he was trying to sell the products. But when we had questions for him, we were never able to get him back on the phone. He also told my wife to not call him ever again. However, I gave Vivint the benefit of the doubt because I know there are good companies out there who have some bad workers.
We got two cameras and sensors for doors and windows. We also got remote access to the system, so when I'm out of town, I can check. Plus, we have a dimmer light that I can turn my lights on when we sleep. Vivint has a very good product. I'm really happy with most of the products and I enjoy using them. Plus, I love the service. I've just not been fortunate to meet very good customer service people. However, the guy who installed the system was great. He promised that he was going to come at 10:00 P.M. because it was more convenient for us for him to come a little later when we are all home. He showed up at 10:00 p.m. and did the work. He was still doing the work past midnight. I was very impressed with him.

Equipment was decent, but customer service is terrible. Besides the door to door salesman creeping around my house before introducing himself, my main gripe has to do with when we decided to move. We had to move out of state about 8 months into our 2 year contract. Vivint will move the new system to your new house for a fee (you have to pay this fee since you’re locked into the contract anyways). It’s going to be about a month from when we move out to when we move into our new house. We were told that we wouldn’t have to pay for the service until the system was re-installed, but we would have to continue to make our monthly payments for the equipment. Sounds fair. We were also told that they would cover the hole left in the wall where the display was removed.
Well when we found out on the day that we were leaving that they left the hole with a wire sticking out, we called them up. This guy told us that the last guy had LIED to us. We would have to continue to pay for the service even though we can’t use it, and they don’t repair or cover the holes that the equipment leaves behind. We asked if they had a record of who we talked to and they said there was no way for them to know... BS - all companies track that and customer service calls are always recorded. He was extremely rude and treated me like an idiot. I found out that there is another customer service number you can call, but then was told that they will only talk to you if you’ve been a customer for multiple years. So basically they know we’re only 8 months into a 2 year contract and they can treat us like crap.
I guess I’m stuck with them until the 2 years is up. We are switching as soon as we can. The bad part is that we have been paying a monthly fee for the equipment on top of the service fee, but now that’s going to be money down the drain if we switch. They will not survive if they continue to treat customers the way they treated my wife and I. Go look at other reviews and you will see that the majority are similar to mine.

I lived in Jacksonville, Florida before when one of Vivint’s workers came and asked me if they can put a sign in front of my door and offered me free equipment for a two-year contract. At the time, they were just opening up in Jacksonville. But the two-year contract turned into five years and that’s not what I agreed on. Now that I have moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, I told them that I’m not happy with their service because of their attitude when I call them. Their customer service was very rude. They told me I need to stay on the service but I told them I don’t have to stay to where I’m not happy and that I’m going to call the BBB and ConsumerAffairs. They claim they are going to send the contract to me but they never did and they said that to get out of the contract, I have to pay $2000.
I still have the equipment but back in October a gentleman was supposed to take it when I left Florida but they just took it down and didn’t take it. He was like, “No, well, just take it to North Carolina with you and then they’ll take it from you from North Carolina.” But that didn’t happen. I kept telling them to come and get it so I said I’m not responsible for it. Their equipment included a camera which wasn’t working and needs to be fixed. They fixed it one time and I kept having issues with it. I didn’t feel safe at all with their security. I’m extremely dissatisfied with Vivint and went with somebody else.

Our neighborhood has had some minor issues here and there. I had bought a MyQ to make sure I could control my garage door up and down when I was not home. When I saw Vivint’s ad, the price was too ridiculous. Then, a door-to-door person came around and gave me the same thing that I wanted for considerably less. All the windows have sensors on them. The door has a keypad lock that could be controlled open close from a mobile device. I've got a glass break sensor, a CO2 sensor, and then all my fire alarms are tied to the system as well.
It's frustrating that the salesman oversold features that aren't really there but the customer service has taken care of it. Also, they always tell me that the equipment was free then once I got into the dealings, I was leasing the equipment. There's a two-year plan to pay for the equipment which was fine because it came to $80 which was the same price he told me. But every time I add a new piece of equipment, my rate goes up. It turns out that I had to sign a loan from a credit card company to purchase the equipment, but I can return it anytime I want if I want to.
Recently, I had some issues with an item. The front door lock worked fine for two months then all of a sudden, the bolt wasn't going all the way in and it was stopping so it always looked like the door was unlocked, even though it was locked so I had to have somebody come back out. The first guy who installed everything showed me a few things. But the second guy who came and replaced my door lock was much better. He also cleaned up the hole a little better. He showed me features that the other guy didn't even tell me about and it was very impressive. I'm very happy with how it turned out and I have recommended Vivint a couple of times to different people.

I have Vivint's motion detectors upstairs and one in my basement, doorbell camera, rear camera, thermostat, fire detectors, CO2 detector, and one of the deadbolts. The installation team was quick about their work. They cleaned up the mess and were extremely helpful as far as explaining everything and telling me what they were doing. They made sure that I had the system connected to my phone, that I understood the panel, understood how to work my deadbolts, and had me put in my code. Before they left, I had a pretty good understanding of how to run my system.
However recently, my deadbolt doesn't always communicate with my panel. There were also a few quirks that I needed to get ahold of the service people and have them come check it. But otherwise, the system has been pretty good. The system makes me feel secure being the only person who lives in my house. It gives me a lot of comfort and knowing that I can check it at any time like I can get out of town and know somebody's at my door. I've also recommended Vivint to other people.

The guy that came and explained how the Vivint system worked was cooperative and professional. He showed me some of the information that I needed to know before I made my decision. Vivint was always available for me to call and to answer my questions. I’ve had a very good experience with them. I’m 85 years old, and I follow instructions, which is the key element. The reps explained to me what's happening and in case I needed to do something, they explained to me how I needed to do it. If I don’t understand something, they go over it with me and let me test it out to see if it’s okay. That’s the same thing the installer did when he was installing my system. The installation experience was good and as I expected. My total experience was excellent and I am satisfied. I recommended someone to Vivint.

We received Vivint this past Summer. I am seriously regretting getting it. The doorbell camera goes on and offline more times than I can count. If a package is left on steps or near my door, I cannot view any clips from the mobile device or camera. What good is the doorbell camera if it is not picking up activity. When I call Customer Services, I get a hum drum vibe from the majority of them and most of them do not appear knowledgeable about troubleshooting. I am highly disappointed. I have too many issues yet and still l pay them the monthly fee when I should be only paying half since it works only half the time.

I got a service package from Vivint as a preventative measure which includes video cameras and motion detectors and they are connected in my app. We have them for eight months now for proper monitoring of my office and I’m very satisfied with their service. I will most likely use them for my home when my contract with ADT ends. Vivint’s a good company with a good price and nice system set up.

I bought my house in September and for security measures, I got Vivint in October. It was more to prevent anything from happening and I got cameras and sensors. I did my research before I chose them and a lot of people gave Vivint good reviews. Plus, I felt like with them, I had someone to talk to that monitors my house compared to Comcast or ADT. I also know people who were with ADT and Comcast and they've switched, too. The installation went great but when I'm away, I'm couldn't check the system and it's always under maintenance. I should be able to do it all the time because anything could happen and it's a security system. Aside from that, it's been a learning experience for me and I'm pleased with their service. I love Vivint and I'm happy with them.

My wife and I were interested in the features of Vivint’s security package and got from them an indoor camera, one outdoor camera, doorbell and the automatic door locking system. I had an excellent dealing with Jake, the person who sold me everything. He’s very nice, respectful and very informative. He told me everything I needed to know and answered any questions that we had. The guy who installed everything was also great and worked fast. He was missing that day but he was very nice and respectful of it and came out the very next day and installed it for us. In a couple of days, I'm going to be gone 15 days at a time when I start working and Vivint gives me the satisfaction that my wife would be safe at home by herself when one tries to scum through here. My experience was great with Vivint and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I am in the property management business. I manage apartment complexes, and one of my residents had Vivint. From them, I got the doorbell, camera, and the lock features. I like them. Also, the sales reps were very knowledgeable. They were very courteous, professional, and eager to help. Installation went a little long, but it went well. The installer showed me how to operate everything. He was professional and asked if I didn’t understand. I’ve always grown up in an ADT situation and I think Vivint exceeded them. It was the best experience and so far, I would recommend Vivint.

I'm a local builder in Lafayette, Louisiana. After I signed a contract with Vivint at my personal home, I have nothing but trouble because they retrofitted or took over the ADT system. So often, the trigger goes bad. The green light has to come on for me to activate it and I activate the system with the light off. The system does not even protect 100%. They tried to tell me that they took over from ADT that I don't need to know. Their trigger and the previous system triggers are not compatible. For instance, my trigger on the window and door are not compatible. They came out several times to fix it, but I still have problems until now.
They send me the bill every month and I told them why don't they cancel the contract. They tried to fine and penalize me, and I told them that the system is not even working. I asked them how many more times that they need to come out here to make it work. They don't have an answer for that. My home is almost $1 million and they think it's a joke. I got tired of it and I don't even care to call anymore. I'm going to tell my customers that it's bad if Vivint takes over their systems. If they don't have a 100% Vivint system, they should not take over ADT. I don't have any problems with my customers who had a new home and got Vivint on a brand new gate. But to take over somebody else's system, I highly recommend Vivint not to take another customer and put them in a situation I'm in right now. I am very dissatisfied.

It has taken me while to report the excellent customer service that we received when they installed the security system in our home and I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism of the two technicians that came to our home in October. They were very respectful, listen to what and where we wanted the equipment installed. They took their time in explaining how to use the equipment and what the security system could and could not do, which a lot of our request was not doable only because we might have been asking more than what any system could do.
I would recommend Vivint to anyone who is looking to add security to their home if you want to experience what true customer service is all about as well as when you call in for service, these folks are extremely professional, courteous and polite, which in today's world doesn't happen very often. Again, thank you guys for your outstanding customer service and support. I hope to be with Vivint for a long time.

Vivint Sky - My experience with Vivint unfortunately has been extremely disappointing. I have had numerous problems with the install, numerous problems with overbilling and changing my account money that is not owed. I call and dispute charges monthly and have not had a firm resolution. If a customer service agent resolves the disputed charge, the next month the billing department creates another fake charge and the battle goes on and on. I would not recommend this company in any way. It's unfortunate because I was a long time customer but I have no idea what has happened in the administration of this company and their equipment. I have tons of connectivity issues and the only advice I get is to reboot the system. Sorry Vivint, you suck. Yours truly, a very disappointed customer.

If anyone needs more than just a security system, Vivint's would be the type of setup to get. They have a well-rounded package with home security and home automation all-in-one. The sales rep explained the service but a lot of it I also already knew. Instead of there being a sales pitch, it was more of a good long conversation about what we needed. We got a sizable package which included the doorbell with the camera, the garage door opener and the keyless lock. Also, because we have a new child, we have a camera in the house, as well as the window break sensors. We also have a couple of panic buttons for my father. Once we signed up, the system was installed that afternoon and it was done very quickly. The only delay was that they ran out of door locks, so a couple of days later the guy had to come by and install that. But other than that, the job was done well.

We have outdoor cameras and doorbell cameras that links to some of my phones. However, I'm not satisfied with the service from Vivint. We have had a lot of issues. We had a hard time getting a tech out. They were always busy. We live in a rural area so it takes a while (usually at least a week or two) before someone can come out. The first two techs who came didn't complete the job and never came back when they said they would. The first tech left his phone number with us and when we called to follow up, he never answered. The second tech came out and he was supposed to be there between noon and 5:00 pm. I had to take half a day of work and he didn't show up until almost 6:00 pm. And then when he came, he said that he didn't have the other stuff that he needed and would have to come back. He never did. So I had to call and schedule for a third.
The third tech was amazing and got everything done that, and it was great. He was very helpful and polite. He said something was installed wrong the first time and he fixed it. My husband was the one who missed work that day. He forgot to tell them we had the front door lock that would unlock with the app. So, when I got home and found out that had happened, I called him and he got on FaceTime with his work phone and walked me through it. I was able to set it up with his help. They didn't charge for the second and third techs because the first and second techs didn't do what they were supposed to.
But then now, my cameras keep falling offline. In fact, they're offline right now. It's frustrating. And we don't even know they're offline because it doesn't notify us. The other day we had a TV delivered from my online shopping. They just left it on my front porch and I got an email notification from FedEx that it had been delivered. But, I never got notified that anyone was on my porch so the TV sat outside all day. That's how we found out they're offline now. Someone tried to break into my husband's truck and we went through the cameras. They were offline and didn't get anything. But the sales reps were good. They were very polite and helpful, and answered all questions. And if they couldn't answer it, they'd find someone who could. The customer service team is very polite and helpful, too. It just seems that the system is not working as well as hoped.

My Vivint package includes the alarm on the windows, doors and glass breaks. So far, the service is mostly good. However, I'm having a problem with the cameras and I returned the one that did not work ever. They got it back but then they charged me like a week later after they received it. Thank god I had my tracking information and I was like “You already received it”. I think they’re probably just counting on people not to pay attention to stuff, but it is okay. Also, it’s a little frustrating that only part of the people is available all the time, and part of the people is not. The customer service is not great. There’s no reason to have a phone number like “Hey, call this phone number”, and they’re like “Oh, those people aren’t here, they can’t help you”.

I had Vivint before it had remote access and was pleased with the service. However, since I have had it installed in my current house with the remote access features, I have not been satisfied. I had the doorbell camera installed on my front door and a security camera installed in my walkout basement that also allowed me to keep an eye on my dogs while I was away. The basement camera goes on and offline randomly and the talk function rarely works. I paid extra for two key fobs to arm and disarm the system when I had it installed. The technician told me that they were unnecessary as the remote access was all that I needed. I told him that I felt more comfortable with a backup in case the app didn't work. I'm glad I did. Up until now, the app has worked probably 85% of the time. The doorbell camera was extremely sensitive and would pick up shadows moving from the trees.
Now, the doorbell camera doesn't seem to pick anything up unless you are at the door (i.e. no cars, people in my driveway, etc). The app completely stopped working almost a week ago. I have called the company at least 3 times only to be told what I could do to troubleshoot (I've tried everything), that it was an issue with my phone and not the app, and finally that there is an issue with the app working for people with android phones. They only give the last bit of information after about 30 minutes on the phone then tell you that they are working on it. It's been a week. I can't arm/disarm my system, check my system status, or use any of the remote functions that are advertised for the system.
As I am still paying for a service (i.e. remote access) that I cannot currently use, I asked for a reimbursement for the time that I have not been able to use those features. I was told that the app is a free feature so there would be no reimbursement because I could still access the system from a desktop. I can't even log onto their website from my phone and now I can't even see my cameras from a desktop. Again, I was given troubleshooting tips to try and told that I could have a $10 credit for the inconvenience. I argued that it was false advertising because their site's home page touts their remote access capabilities but then says that the app is free and if it doesn't work then I'll just have to use a desktop when away from home.
That's not what I signed up for. What good is a camera that you don't get instant notification on? I can't arm/disarm the system remotely for company or someone that is coming by to check on my house and dogs. If I had the thermostat, keyless entry, and lighting package, none of that would be able to be accessed other than by desktop either. I paid extra for this system so that I had those capabilities without having to leave a key hidden somewhere or leave the system disarmed when someone would be coming by when I was away. Basically, the company only promises a security system at the basic functions with access to more if you are at a computer or at home in front of your panel. Great. So if my home catches fire or someone breaks in or steals something off my porch or out of my yard, I'll know when I get to a computer. Not convenient at all.

Mic has not worked since system was installed, video app not working correctly. It takes a long time to upload. Whomever was at the door are gone by the time I can see and talk to them. The app has been uninstalled and re-installed more than 5 times. The keypad light went out the second day and has not been repaired.

One of Vivint’s salespeople came to my neighborhood and he offered the services to me among all the other homeowners in the neighborhood. He did a good job of helping me get out of the previous contract and in helping me setting up all the features. I have the fire alarm and the monitors. Those features give me control of what's going on around my house while I'm in or not. I feel most secure and safer, and I'm assured about that I don't have to worry much.
If I have a question or a concern, I can activate everything from my phone which makes that a lot easy and very convenient. At least I can imagine the views, whatever is going on, if there's someone at my door pressing my doorbell, visiting my family and to get a status of who's at home. I'm able to do all that and it's been able to ease my concerns and worry. I've been satisfied with the service. Everything works and is tailored to my needs right now. The installation team did a good job over me. They completed their job on time. One thing that stood out is they were fast and efficient. I wasn’t expecting them for another 24 hours their job but they showed up earlier than two hours. They were timely too.

Vivint went door to door selling after a few break-ins happened in the area, taking advantage of the residents. Sadly, I bought into it. It was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. The sales guy missold the contract length, its value, and stated that insurance generally gave a significant discount for security systems, something like 20%. Pressed hard for signature without reading the contract. In reality, the contract was multiple years longer, provided subpar cheap equipment, that started failing in under a year. That 20% insurance discount was more of around 1%. I knew I had been taken, but there wasn't anything I could really do about it.
I then sold my house. Per standard selling practice, if it was attached to the wall, it was sold with the house. Most companies would see this as a possible sale, this is why most of such that provide hardware and service have moving benefits, but of course not Vivint. The hardware was left as it had to be left in the house. I called to cancel the service and was informed that the cancellation fee was 2000+, as the contract was, "Pay in full for services not delivered by Vivint on termination." I told them they can sell it/transfer it to the new homeowner, and then did not hear by until a dept collection agency contacted me. As far as I knew this was transferred over to the new owner.
Honestly, given the number of high negative reviews, I think it's time someone actively stood up to this company. I am a web designer and am very much thinking of pledging time and some money to making an attempt at diverting some profits off this unethical company to its competitors. If a Vivint door-to-door salesperson stops at a door at my new place, I will go door to door following them and give a testimonial of how bad of company they are.

Our agent was well informed and covered all our needs. Very happy with the service. Our installer called ahead to confirm our time and inspected our home when he came in and advised a few required changes for the need of our new home. He cleaned up after himself and went over the panel and how everything worked.

I found out about Vivint through a friend of mine and I was impressed with what they had so I thought I’d give it a shot. I got two cameras, the carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, and I think the three doors included in the service package. Their staff was very good and nice. They did what they were supposed to do and whatever they are doing, they should continue doing that.

A couple of weeks ago, I had my cameras replaced because the ones that Vivint gave me since the beginning gave up. I've had good experiences with them, but their customer service takes over 20 minutes to get online to help me out sometimes. They’re always busy and there is a lot of customers calling in. By the time I get to speak with them, I’m annoyed and I'm a little upset with them. They can tell that I'm not happy but they will really try to make me happy again. They’re also really helpful.

I got to meet a guy at the store who told me to get the glass breaks. I also got the doorbell with the camera, but the door goes on and off. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We left the features up to the guy who did the install on what he thought we needed and didn't. After the guy did the install, the system wouldn't work, so we called him and he came back that night and stayed until he got it working. Two days after we moved in, our car was broken in to and we didn't have a camera in the front so there was nothing we could do. I wish I got the camera, but then I looked back, the price of the camera is high.
A week after my break-in, we were not home that night and Vivint alerted me right away that the alarm was going off and that the police was on the way to the house. The police were there when I got home. Nobody broke in but one of the glass breaks had malfunctioned. It shows that the system works and I'm happy with what I have. For the most part, I've had a really good experience with Vivint and we had some issues but we worked it through. However, after we've looked at other systems out there, it's easier and cheaper to add-on and Vivint hasn't made that very easy. It's $80 a month for the cameras and I have to pay for the techs to come and install the system.

I’ve had Vivint for about a year and a half. I got it as a preventative measure and because of the smart home aspect to have a device to sync everything together with. Everything's been positive with my interactions with the reps and the installation crew was great. They were really helpful when we first set up the system, showing me how to work everything. Everything about the service has been great and I've appreciated it. It's been a good experience. I have the windows sensors, motion sensor, thermostat, and the smart panel. I also used to have a garage door opener and that was great. Everything works as I expected. And it interfaces with my own, on Echo and that was what I was after in the first place. It's a good idea to have Vivint.

The service package we have with Vivint includes cameras, different contact points and a doorbell ringer with a camera. Aside from the crime rate in the county what also made me need those features is I live in a thicker little area, where it's so quiet, but all of a sudden some fast vehicle can enter any home. So far, Vivinjt's service is good. The sales agent was excellent and knowledgeable. The installation team came when they were supposed to and did what they were supposed to do. Overall, we're happy with them.

I was disappointed that the Vivint medical alert was only in the house and I did not like that. I wish it had a greater distance than just in your home. I also have the doorbell. Once they got it hooked up, it's okay. But I don't even know how to turn the alarm at night, so it's like wasting $70 bucks a month for nothing. I don’t even know why I submitted to this, so I was really confused in the beginning. If somebody came through the window, what good would a motion camera do? I have a deck and a porch they could easily break and climb through and they wouldn’t even know it.
I was trying to see who left the package at my door and I couldn’t find it, and it was just confusing to me. It’s not as consumer-friendly as I thought it would be. I don’t hate it, but I’m just not happy with it. I don't even use it to its potential, which is my fault, and I didn’t like the way they installed it and I didn’t realize that he was running the wire down my woodwork, which I also did not like although it was already done before.
And then when he went to do the doorbell, whose wire had broken, and the guy said, “Well, not unless you want to pay top dollar and have somebody come in, that’s the way it has to be”. I didn’t like that attitude. I did get my grandson to come and he just switched the wire to the basement for me. The wire must have just been old and brittle. It’s an old house, but just with the way he said it, and if I had realized how he was installing the main thing, I wouldn’t have been happy with that. But he had already done it, and it was done by the time I had realized it, that’s the way it looked. And, lastly, when it came to the doorbell, I thought “I don’t think so. I don’t like it”. Nevertheless, at the beginning, I had a problem with the doorbell. The guy who came by was very patient, good and he stuck with me. It was something with the WiFi and he solved the problem.

Asked to be accurate and since the system is new, I can only say that so far we have been very happy. When we've called they've been helpful and very efficient. I was impressed when they called to see if we were happy. All of this is better than our last system's company. So, yes, I am impressed. We like the equipment. Easy to use, easy to read, easy to see. Key remote works great in the middle of the night if you don't want to use keypad.

Absolutely love this system. I had ADT for approximately 20 years. During that time the system would malfunction frequently. It was extremely costly for me to pay for the numerous malfunctions. Love the ability to monitor my house through my phone. I feel more secure with this system. I have recommended it to my friends and family.

Camera sensors are very poor and impossible to adjust correct. Record almost every minute. The sale persons and the Tech that comes to install are WORLDS A PART! VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE WORKINGS OF THE EQUIPMENT!!!! The Tech that came to the house was outstanding and tried his hardest to make things work right, but the equipment is the failing part of it all!

I have Vivint’s basic package like the motion sensors and I have Nest as well. The sales reps answered all my questions. I wanted something but I didn't know what to get so when they explained Vivint to me, I decided on it. The installer knew what he was doing and helped me learn how to use the system. I didn't have questions for him after the installation since he answered all of them as well as everything he thought I didn't know. I love Vivint’s service and how fast they respond if an alarm goes off whether it's accidental or not. They call within a minute. I'd tell other people to get the system and I would explain to them how it was explained to me and it'll be all good things. My aunt has Vivint in her house too.

I like everything about Vivint. The installation was awesome and I like that I have the doorbells and the camera. I love the panels and I use the app on my cellphone all the time. I got the door lock too. When I get a package delivered, I tell the guy to open the door and leave my packages. I call Vivint for anything I need and the representatives handle my complaints. I'm satisfied with Vivint and I'm trying to recommend them to everybody.

Vivint's sales rep was new and didn't seemed very trained. It took him a long time to get the process going because he didn’t really know what he was doing. He was trying to figure it out and so we had to be patient with him. He also had a broken iPad so he had to use our device. He was thrown out a little prematurely and I felt bad for him. But other than that, everything has been great. The installation team installed it right after we were signed up and did a fine job with it.

I researched about different alarm companies because I was unhappy with ADT. That time, Vivint was doing a door-to-door solicitation and their rep happened to come up at the end of my contract with ADT so I switched. The installation team was very polite. However, we had a problem with the doorbell because the tech who has been doing some repair thought it was the old doorbell that he was working on. He said that it was the old doorbell down but evidently, he tapped into the new one. I got to call them back because my camera doesn't work without it. On the other hand, I love the system because even when I was in Paris, I was able to lock the door when I signed in on the internet. I've been very happy with Vivint and I've already suggested them to several people.

The representative from Vivint that came to my home was very courteous and friendly. The features included in the service package are the glass break, front door, back door, paneled by my front door and a panel in the kitchen. Since I live in a snow country, I didn't want people walking through my house to the main panel so I could shut it off at the front door where the boots go. I didn't want to run to the front door to turn the main panel on and off. People have to come in through the backdoor.
I've been very satisfied with their service so far. The only trouble I ever had was that the fan went out and I worked with a technician to try to resolve the problem but it didn't work. Vivint then sent a technician out. Also, I had the police come to my house. I dropped something and the windows rattle, but Vivint responded well. I told the police that it was my glass break as it's very sensitive, and Vivint gave them my password. I called and talked to Vivint, then the police came and they said that they've never gotten a call to come out, so it was just a misunderstanding. Vivint is quick to call the police if they don't get the right answer. They also come out immediately.

I live alone and just moved in the neighborhood. I didn't know anybody so I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a security system going. A guy came to my door one day and explained everything and that I needed to have the medical watch first. I already have one with another company but it was part of the package. The installer, Andrew, treated me with the utmost respect. I didn't understand a lot of what he said, but he did everything. He explained that he had to make a little hole in the wall to run in the cord down.
However, I hate that I could never get the system to work properly. I can't get it to go on to my computer or my cell phone. When I go out, I have to push the lock feature on the door panel, and then when I come, I have to push in my security code so I can get back in. I cannot unlock the system from my vehicle to go in and all the extra little things that they said that I could have, don't do any of that. I would really like the whole business to stop as I'm paying $72 a month for something that is pretty much useless to me. I’ve been with Vivint for about seven months now and it's more of a pain than it is anything else. I'd be moving in December, so I need Vivint to come and take their equipment out.

With the whole setup with Vivint right now, I’m not overly thrilled with it. I have a hard time getting the cameras to work and stay working so I had called them and wish they would come up with a better thermostat. We wouldn’t have used Nest thermostats but I can’t get the Vivint program to sync with Nest even though they say it does. In terms of the attitude of their sales rep, everybody who’s been out there and done anything has been fine and responsive. But I got tired of having to call to “Why is this camera not working well? You got to reboot and do this.” I just needed to make sure it’s all going to work. The technician told me the average person gets the doorbell thing, the lock on the front door and one camera. I needed to have a home security system because it was an out-of-state home. The service of Vivint has been great so far and the installer was phenomenal. He had a very good attitude and he was a joy to be around when he was working. Since the system was installed, I have more peace of mind because I can see my house from another state away and control the door locks. One time we had a camera go bad and their techs came right out. It took a little bit of time for them to get out, but that wasn’t too big of an issue.

I was unhappy with ADT. Then a guy from Vivint came and knocked on the door. He was very professional, polite, and I enjoyed having him. Their system was wireless and they provided all the equipment. I got four door alarms, one motion sensor, and three window alarms. The installers were fine and they did a great job. We’ve only had one problem with the back door sensor and they've put an extender on it because that frame was not even so it couldn't go on and off. Once they did that, we haven’t had another problem.
I had a cop show up one night telling me my alarm went off but I've been home for an hour and there was no alarm. He said that ADT called him because they couldn’t get in touch with me. They hadn’t even tried to get in touch with me though. I was not very happy but Vivint has been a breath of fresh air. We’ve been totally happy with them. They’re a Johnny on the spot with everything. They’ve always been so good and efficient. If I have a problem, I call them and they’re there. There’s no waiting and they don’t sit there and try to belittle me. They come in, assess the problem, and they take care of it.

Installing our Vivint system was great. The installer was professional, courteous, and nice. He came over, was on time, did the work, and gave me some good advice about what I was getting and how to set it up. I got Vivint so I could get my doorbell and my thermostat. I have a disability so when I'm upstairs, it's hard for me to go downstairs and change the thermostat if it gets really warm or cool upstairs. So, the system allows me to change the temperature wherever I am at the house. But also, I could set it to a range so I can get it to come on if it gets too hot or too cold. I like that a lot.
Vivint works with my Amazon as added features so that worked well. I can tell my Amazon to do things that my Vivint controls as well. So if I'm in the house, I can tell my Amazon to lock the door or I can tell my Amazon to turn off the thermostat. I like that it all works and fares together. If I didn't have a contract with ADT, then I would just let Vivint takeover everything because they use the same features that my ADT does. I like that everything is seamless. I’m very satisfied and I've recommended Vivint to my parents and I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

I’ve had Vivint for 4 years because you're in a contract. When we first installed the system it was fine but after a few months the cameras stopped working. Had them replaced and they still don’t work. So in July we called to cancel the service. They told us we had to wait till December. So I called to cancel. Now they said, "You have to send us an E-Mail." So when we called to speak to someone they offered to upgrade the cameras and lower the price because as you know you are one of the most expensive companies. Well she said she would have someone return my call. I’ve been waiting now for two days and no call. So yes you need to work on your customer service.

The representative from Vivint who came to our house was really friendly, nice and knowledgeable. I have the cameras, motion detectors, and everything on doors and windows, which is the total package deal. I needed those features due to theft. However, there was a little incident where I needed my video from the doorbell area and for some reason, I can't go into my Vivint drive. I can't look at it, though I had it downloaded. When I downloaded it and sent it to myself through mail, I could then view it again, but it lost the date and time. I called Vivint, worked with them about that, and they told me how I could get it back. Also, I can't watch it through the Vivint drive but all dates on which they were lifted were wrong. And then when I watch a video, there's no date and time. I'm unhappy about that and I haven't heard anything back from them. They haven't had any updates with that particular application.

I wanted to discourage anybody from breaking-in to our place, and to know if anybody breaks in. We then got a service package from Vivint and we're pleased and we feel secure with it but we still have a couple of things left to do. We have a doorbell camera and we have to get an electrician to put electricity to the doorbell. I also ordered last week some signs for the yard and we didn't get those. But everybody at Vivint was really nice. I set up the installation with the sales rep then an installation guy came out and installed the system. The guy was wonderful and a lot faster than I had predicted, and kept us informed of what he was doing. I would recommend Vivint, definitely.

One of my daughters had Vivint services at their home. When we got ready to have an alarm system put in our house, her and my other daughter conspired and got each other, and had it installed. We have the alarm system with the smoke and glass breakage detector on our home. Their reps are very quick to call us when the alarm is going off. If something occurs or when they talk to us through the speaker system, it's been great. Recently, we had to have a service rep come out. We were having some problems with our panel, and they were out within about 24 hours, and got that fixed up for us. He actually changed our code that day. So, things are good. We like Vivint.

Everything we have with Vivit is good but the doorbell is pretty cool and I like it the most. Their sales rep was nice, professional and knowledgeable, and I had a good dealing with him. The installation didn’t take too long and took them two and a half hours. Everything was like they said and they were tidy once they were done. I talked to Vivint’s reps about moving to a new house because I’m selling the home and they were easy to contact. I got the basic info on it and the process was all going smoothly.

I don’t know if I get billed? How do I set up my password that they mentioned to me that is vocal? They installer was very nice and little cocky when asked questions and his responses were kind of like disrespectful as he looked at me like I was dumb! He was nice towards the end but came in very serious and aggressive. Installation was done quickly. I think we needed more information on a vocal set up as explained to me by the agent when I called. The installer was oblivious too about this!!

For the amount we are paying I expected the door camera to be better. We have the fastest internet speed you can get but there is a pretty good delay... If I could do it over again I would do it differently.

We've been with Vivint for over a year now and we're satisfied with them. The system was laid out well by the sales rep and it was a good experience. However, it was a little more expensive compared to my older system, and we had to dig into our pockets. But the installers were very professional, friendly and informative. I'd recommend them and tell others to consider them.

The Vivint guy came to the door and the doorbell camera was really interesting. The installation went really quick. Now I can always see who comes to the door, and even if somebody walks by, the camera records them. We’ve had a few false alarms because of our mistake, and Vivint responds quickly.

Vivint personnel showed up at the door and told us and explained everything, and would do whatever we needed to have. They're really informative and very friendly. Also, the installation was done with no time at all and in a very professional way. And all the people that put the device in tried to explain everything like how the device works and how it's operated it. If I had any more questions, Vivint would answer them as well. Everything I thought was really good. The device is exactly working good too and I like the doorbell feature the most.

I have a Vivint alarm system in my house for 2 years now and never had a problem w/ Vivint until now. I used to have ADT alarm system in my house and I was satisfied w/ ADT. The only reason why I switched to vivint because of their doorbell camera. We just got a new pet. Called them and told about it because of the motion detector. They told me the motion detector inside my house is not a vivint equipment so they cannot do anything about it. At this point I knew about that because they never replaced all the ADT equipment that was installed by ADT and they just used the ADT equipment. The only vivint equipment they installed was the doorbell, wall panel and the camera and the rest they kept all the ADT equipment and use it instead of replacing it.
So I asked them what to do and if they can replace all the ADT equipment inside my house to vivint equipment. They told me to just turn them off my motion detector and then if I want it replace to vivint motion detector I have to pay $70. I told them why do I have to pay $70 when it should've been replace when they installed vivint in my house. I am so disappointed because when I switched to vivint the salesperson that told me I can have everything that I have from ADT plus the doorbell and camera. Now the vivint was telling me that my equipment is not communicating to their end because it is not a vivint motion detector. Vivint are you really kidding me! You want me to pay so you can install the vivint equipment in my house! It should've been installed from the beginning anyway!

If I could give zero or negative stars I would. Vivint’s customer service team should be called “relentless sales team” instead - every point of contact from Vivint is forcefully turned into sales pitch; you, as a customer, will never matter & will never be heard. To keep a long & very painful story short. My husband & I have paid upwards of $1500 (& have spent 20-30 hours on the phone in frustration) attempting to work with this company & close our contract. They continue to call/email with more pitches to “save our account” when we are clearly disgusted & have just paid $400 additional to disconnect service.
Run for the hills... Go with any other Home Security or Smart Home & save yourself the headache & nightmare of being locked into a contract by a company who clearly would rather be forceful than ethical. You will never speak to a ‘person’ at Vivint, only a relentless sales script robot that is designed to milk you dry rather than take care of you as their customer.

My experience with Vivint home security was horrendous!!! They sent out service technician that don’t even know what he was doing. Their technician bore holes on my wall and patched it like he had put chewing gum to cover the hole he made. He then installed the outside camera where you can reach it if you’re a six footer and just knock it down. The worst part was he coiled the wires on my garage door bar that made my garage door almost fell and hurt someone and reimbursement was after 3-4 weeks. They also broke my thermostat and we now have to call a HVAC repairman to fix it. And of course they just told me that I will have to wait again for a few weeks to get reimbursed.
So much headache and hassle for a home security. And to think I was really nice to have fed them. Very unprofessional and poorly trained technician. They don’t deliver what they promise when they were selling the product. Will never ever recommend them to anyone. Never had problems with my garage and thermostat until Vivint came to my house!!! VIVINT DESERVE NO STAR AT ALL!!!

I was promised a military discount upon set-up of service. I asked again when the installers were here and they said to speak to a customer service rep. I called while the installers were here and they said to give proof of military ID to the installers. They in turn told me to call the billing department because they did not handle that. I called billing and was told I was going to be transferred to ROR. I was hung up on during the "transfer". I just want the service I was told I was going to get. On the home monitoring screen the cameras just flash without getting a clear picture. Also the clips do not accurately reflect the camera listing.

I have a mother-in-law who is in the house and there have been a couple of emergencies where she's fallen. We use Vivint for that purpose too, aside from being able to see and verify the situation. I have a video card that's on the doorbell and I have the surveillance around the house. My interaction with the reps was very congenial and all the questions were answered. Everything was pretty much on point as far as what the capabilities of the system were. Everything was appropriate during the installation, the team was friendly and professional and my experience with Vivint’s new system has been very good.

We've had Vivint for five or ten years. The company that we were with switched to them. The installation guys were really helpful, nice, and professional. When they came in and upgraded it, the tech who came was even nicer. They always ask if there’s anything else that they can help us with. Plus, they tell us about new products. If we have any issues, the people that we talk to over the phone are very polite, sweet and offer lots of advice. First, we purchased the panel, two glass breaks, three door sensors and 5 window sensors. When we upgraded we ended up with a CO2 sensor, a smoke sensor and two motion sensors.
Every time we take a hot shower or turn on the wall heater our old smoke alarm would go, so we need something better than just the little battery operated ones that we had. The CO2 is just something because we have kids and grandkids. When the alarm goes off they’d call one of the five numbers on there and they’d let us know that something’s going on. If we weren’t at home we just draw it up on our phone and tell them if everything is fine or if they need to send somebody. They would and everything would be fine. The service is excellent and we really like them. We’ve already recommended Vivint to three different people and they love them too.

I am upset that I have to pay $70 dollars a month for Vivint's service when my friend has more features than I do and only pays ways less than I do a month for their service. If it was possible to get out of their contract I would have already done so. I have called Vivint before to lower the price of my monthly bill and they will not work with me. We had our main panel go down for 5 hours without our knowledge, so an intruder could have broke into our home without triggering an alarm. When we called Vivint to have them fix the panel they walked my husband through it over the phone. Why am I paying them $70 dollars a month if my husband has to make the repairs to their faulty equipment.

I have a lifeline included in the service package I purchased from Vivint, and I haven't been too impressed lately. My smoke detector started acting up and the alarm system wouldn't stop beeping. I called Vivint and the rep I had was very nice and I really liked her. She told me that they were going to send me a smoke detector. Then I found out the company can't send smoke detectors to Canada so when the smoke detector didn't arrive, she said it would be seven to 10 business days. I waited three weeks or more. I phoned again and I had a lot of trouble getting through. I ended up going with a chat online because I couldn't get through their telephone line at all. It kept asking me for a number but I didn't have a number so that was the problem. Then they told me that they would have a technician come out in order to put in a smoke detector, which seemed silly to me. and it was going to be a $50 charge.
It was well over a month without a smoke detector between the time it took all this stuff to happen and it took two weeks to get the technician out here. Then, when I wrote a bad review, I got a response. I was told that because I wasn't happy -- because it was quoted at one price and then quoted a second price that was different -- I would not have to pay the service charge. But when I got my bill, I was charged that service charge. So, nothing that they said they were going to do happened, and it didn’t make me very happy. When the technician came, he was extremely nice and I really liked him a lot. The company said that they’ll send me a smoke detector but they can't. Then I had to stay home and wait for a technician because he came between 9:00 and 12:00 but they can't give me an exact time on it.
The original installation 20 years ago was fine. I haven't had any issues and my bill has been regular, and the increases were reasonable. I like the service and I like having the voice speak to me. One time, they immediately asked how things were and if they needed to call the fire department. The people themselves were nice when I dealt with them. I really like the system but what I didn't like was the communication once I had something wrong with the system. It was major because there was a month without a smoke detector. That was the best one I had and I'm paying for it. My biggest complaint is why is Canada being discriminated against and having to have a technician come in when in the United States, they just send you a smoke detector. It's discrimination that we have to pay $50 when they were only going to pay $5 to ship it to me. They also need to find out where people are calling from and make that very clear.

Someone from Vivint came to the house and they were knowledgeable. My husband was there and he was looking at another alert system because we were with ADT. The sales rep told us about the system and we went ahead. Then he called the installer and got it done on the same day. He was really nice. There were some false alarms as I forgot to turn the system off before going out and that happened several times and their team responded quickly. However, it was my husband who wanted the system but they put it in my name. They never got that fixed.

I checked out several different security companies and Vivint was the most reasonable and they also had offered more than the other ones did. They even sent a guy out to my house and he walked me through it all. He was phenomenal and informative. I never had a question he could not answer. If he wasn't sure, he always checked and got back to me. He was here when they set it up and made sure that I knew exactly how to use it.
I have an inside camera, doorbell camera, garage door sensor, sensors on all my doors, motion detectors, glass breakage sensor, and then the whole panel deal. The installation team was great. I’m a little bit older and not computer savvy. They were very patient teaching me how to do it. They fixed everything and cleaned everything up as well. When we were flooded, we lost everything in our home. Until our house is finished being rebuilt, then Vivint will start the system up again for us. They are awesome. And when I had any problems, I called the customer service and in no time, everything was done.

I live in a brand new build and had a Vivint rep come to my door. Told me I can sign up, not have to buy the equipment and have a safe secure home. The installers came in, blew my transformer, ran an extension cord from my furnace room to my son's bedroom. I have had this system for almost two years. After experiencing with low quality software, a non working doorbell on now three occasions, missing deliveries I called them. Each time I called I am on hold for over an hour waiting for customer service. I received a $15.00 credit.
Last Friday I wrote them and told them I want to cancel. They told me I am unable to cancel until my contract runs out. I have been with them for almost 2 years, paying 69.95 a month. I was not informed of this at any time. I have asked from my contract. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY, like Hotel California, YOU CAN CHECK IN ANYTIME YOU WANT - BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE, unless you pay hundreds of dollars. Great job Vivint on making another happy customer.

I used to be at my sister’s house where she has Vivint and I always thought it was a great system. When we moved into our own house, we got Vivint as well and since then we’ve had issues with it. It worked and sometimes it didn’t and a lot of my security didn’t record. We weren’t getting internet at that time and the service guy told us that we don’t need it. We had issues back and forth and I’d want it to work so I called for service and missed work. My sister stayed here all day and the technician didn’t show up. I called and called until I finally reached someone in the corporate office. I left a message then a guy, Cole, called me back. He went out of his way and did everything he could to fix it. Then, we got internet but we’re still having some issues and still wasn’t working. They sent a technician the last time and he was able to fix it. It’s been good so far.
Then, my system went off a month ago. Vivint called and asked if they’ll dispatch people. I had no idea what’s going on so they apparently dispatched the police. My husband was around the area and he stopped by. What happened was a bigger bug might have triggered the alarm so we waited for the police but they never showed up. I called Vivint back and asked why the police never showed up but they just told me that they did their job and didn’t know why. This was my first home security so I didn’t know how it works. I started investigating on why and where and I found out that I had to get a permit through the city so they can come and see what’s going on which I never knew.
I called back Vivint again and told them why didn’t anyone tell me about the permit and I spoke to a lady who was rude. A lot of their people were rude. It’s unbelievable that a company’s customer service is horrible when I call. I’ve had a few good customer service people that I can count them on one hand but it would take a lot of people to use their hands to count the horrible reps. I even told my husband six months into this system that I was going to yank everything out, leave them out in the front and have them come get it. I’ve spoken to many people out there and half of them knew what they’re doing, some of them had no idea what they’re doing to the point where my system wasn’t working and they would tell me to disconnect the boxes and wires. I told them I won’t be touching any wires. It’s crazy and weird. And Cole came through and took care of it for a while.
One thing that Vivint should make a priority is that if something’s very important, they should remind their customers that the alert needs to be registered. I didn’t know how to register it because no one told me. The alert works at least but in case there is a real emergency, no one’s going to show up which is something I never knew. It’s been a horrible experience so I’m contemplating on canceling my contract but at the same time I don’t want to burn my credit. When I started having a lot of these issues, I went online and I can’t find the corporate people. I also started reading all the horrible comments and they do not have happy customers. I won’t recommend them.

The Vivint salesman who came was knowledgeable and showed us what we could get. We were happy with him and I'm pleased with the features I chose. The installation team was great too. But I'm not so pleased with their website and when using it. I’m not that savvy with technology and many times, I couldn't get the Vivint website to work like it was supposed to and when I could, it was too complicated for me to get to the part I wanted. The only thing I ever do is check my thermostat and sometimes I can't even get to that.

We've had several incidences where we've set the alarm off and Vivint called and checked on us which was a good thing. I'm very satisfied with the features of my service package. We have had Vivint for almost 2 years. We live in a new community and a sales representative knocked on our door claiming Vivint had a special offer for new homeowners. We were going to look into security systems anyway so we listened to his pitch. As part of the "special" he told us that we were getting all of the equipment for free. The only caveat was it had to be installed that night.
We had an installation technician in our home until 2:30am during the week when we both had work in the morning. A few months after the system was installed we had family visit. They liked our system and decided to have Vivint installed in their home. Their bill includes a fee for the equipment as well as the service. It's funny that we have the same service and our bills are the same price. What happened to that free equipment? The sales rep also stated if we ever sold the home that we could leave the system for the new homeowners.
I believe he called it a "great sales feature". He went on to say our contract could be transferred to our new address and Vivint would install a new system in our new home for free. We just listed our home for sale. We called Vivint to inquire transferring our contract and having a new system installed after we moved. We were told that we were misinformed. We could not leave the existing system nor would we be getting one in our new home for free. Our only options were to either pay out the remainder of our contract and cost of equipment if we decided to leave the system or remove the equipment and take it with us. We didn't get a "special offer.” We got swindled. I guess they will say anything to make a sale.
We have had connectivity issues with the Skypanel and doorbell camera since the system was installed. The first time we scheduled a technician appointment they were a no call/no show. When we called customer service to see if there was a problem, the representative said, "It looks like you called to cancel that appointment”. We were frustrated. Not only did we rearranged our plans for the appointment but the system still did not work. We definitely didn’t call to cancel the appointment but we brushed it off as an innocent mistake.
Recently our panel would not connect to the wifi and remained offline for a week. We had a technician appointment scheduled for last Monday, November 27th. The appointment time we had requested differed from the confirmation email we received. I had to cancel an appointment to ensure I'd be home. Once again the technician was a no call/no show. When we called customer service this time we were told,"You called to modify that appointment and moved it to tomorrow". Does the technician call posing as the customer when they are running late or they do not feel like going to an appointment? Finally, the technician showed up the next day. He said the panel needed replacing because it was not allowing the system to update.
He switched out the panel, tested the system and told us everything was working. If everything worked our upstairs thermostat would be connected to the system and we would be able to unlock/lock our doors via the keypads. Who knows if an intruder were to break in if the system would even work. It’s frustrating to pay for equipment and a service that is unreliable. This company is extremely deceitful. They rather place blame on the customer instead of take accountability for their disorganization. We definitely will not be renewing our contract and we have already shared our experience with family and friends.

The overall quality of the products is what we expected. Also, the words and talk of both customer service reps and technicians was courteous and helpful but that is where it ends. On the first night of installation, the driveway camera was triggered over four times and yes the viewing boxes were already set up in the settings menu.From the weekend of Thanksgiving to now, the system has become more of a daily annoyance than anything. We wake up to on average 20 notifications of our driveway camera going off - no intruders which was the sole purpose of the system. The technician absolutely assured us that the camera would not pick up the cars and lights. This is not true.
Also, with two small boys in the house, I find it ridiculous that the Vivint thermostat will just stop working and we wake up to a house at 62 degrees or less - now in a two week period, it has happened seven times. We were told this was fixed by disconnecting a wire, per representative on the phone, so we did and it still continues to drain four batteries every two days and cuts off our heat. This is exactly why I was hesitant working with a company and only after having the service for two weeks, no one has solved the problems nor will contact us and we are still extremely unhappy with the service. It is a shame really.

I got the thermostat, the doorbell cameras and the locks from Vivint. The service is fine, however, I'm slightly disappointed with the equipment. There's a really cool feature that I wanted but I can't have with my existing hardware. I have two panels and because my network can sometimes be a little unpredictable, the second panel drops off. In order for me to connect back to the main panel, I have to call Vivint to get some kind of weird passport. So, my second panel stays unused on the second floor because I can’t get it to connect. Otherwise, I’m satisfied with the system. I like it and its features. Plus, I like the app. It’s pretty simple to use.
Also, Vivint's sales reps were really cordial and very appreciative of my service. Their installers did an awesome job, too. I had to work closely with them because my current system at home is a little complicated and I had to guide them through my networks and through all the different switches on the networks. It was a good collaboration. My experience has been great and I've recommended them to a couple of my neighbors.

The Vivint sales reps were all very informative, helpful and friendly. The installation team was very efficient and they knew exactly what they were doing. They asked questions about where I wanted stuff and they cleaned up after themselves well. I have a doorbell camera, a back outside camera, the glass break, the window alarms and all the door stuff from Vivint. We needed all these for security because we actually had a break-in. I’m very satisfied with Vivint.

I'm satisfied with Vivint's service. I called their sales rep a few times to fix something and it was fast. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. I have their whole package home security, which includes the door lock and camera. Everything was also fast with the installation team and they explained how their system works which was very good. I had good experience with Vivint. I like the company and their service so I'm going to stay with them.

The camera has not worked since after installation. I am waiting to hear from a tech about installation. I have paid fully for the equipment. I was told that a tech will stop by on last week Wednesday but no one showed up. It is very frustrating. I called customer service. We tried repeatedly to get the cameras to work

I already had a service that was okay but it didn't have some of the monitoring opportunities that Vivint advertised. I gave Vivint a try and got the doorbell camera, security, smoke and motion detector and glass breakage features. I was pleased with the installers and they did a good job. I had a lot of glass monitors and they converted me over to the Vivint system. I had some stuff already installed so they didn't have to install a lot of stuff. They just had to convert it with the main control in my master bedroom.
I'm okay with Vivint but I had service come out three times and they mentioned to me one time about charging me for a service and I declined it. Also, I've been more satisfied with the salesperson than I've been with their service people when I called about my lamp mode and door feature not working though. I also had an occasion that the app on my phone was not working. Another problem I got is I thought I was going to get a lot better than what I've gotten after increasing my monthly obligation for the fee. It doubled what I was paying before with my other security. But with the monitoring and some of the things that I've seen, I'm not going to cancel Vivint. They look pretty good.

A Vivint rep came at the door and sold us a bunch of products. He was knowledgeable and fantastic. He listened to what we were looking for and really helped us out. We weren’t in the market for a system, but he showed us why this one made sense, and then we signed up for it. The install guy came by. It was a tricky setup because it’s an older home, and he wired it up really well for it to have all the features. By far, we like the cameras. We’ve been with Vivint for a year and a half, and we really like the system a lot. Vivint is professional and they have what I was looking for in a security system.

My stepson told me about Vivint since he has them installed at his place. However, I’m paying for it although it’s not working. We’ve been having trouble with false alarms and so we just shut it off. I called Vivint to see if they could send somebody out but they’re not sending anybody until the 22nd of December. So, it's all paid for this month but I won’t have any service since we can’t set it up. I’m not satisfied with it at all and I'm disappointed with their service. It’s an okay system when it works. I like the cameras and that it’s different than another system. We also like that we can set it up and check them with our phones, but if it doesn’t work, then it’s no good at all.

I have the combination door lock from Vivint. I also have the doorbell camera that when somebody rings the doorbell, it not only shows on the call box, it also shows on my phone. However, when they first set me up, I had a lot of issues because everything was half working. It started off where I didn't say if I was going to be with them. The sales rep was okay but he scheduled me a day and a timeframe that they were supposed to be there but nobody showed up.
The first time the installer came I was upset. I have been here all day long and nobody showed up so when he finally got here he said, "They just called me and they just gave me this." He didn't even have what he's supposed to have to set up. He went somewhere and came back with a doorbell camera. He put it out there, disconnected my doorbell and the doorbell wasn't working. I'm sitting in my master room and UPS comes and rings my bell but I don't even hear a bell because the doorbell rings outside not inside. I had to leave and go to UPS at 9:00 at night to pick my package. The installer said he scheduled for Sunday to come back and do it. Then he canceled the appointment without notifying me. But I talked to somebody that was really in corporate and explained to them that they got an awesome service, but if they don't get their acts together with customer service in the field, they're going to have issues.
From that point, whenever I have an issue, they always sent me somebody who actually works for the company and not contractors. Other than that, I love it when Vivint sends the surveys where you could tell from the person you talked to, to the person who came out and give them reviews. That's a plus. Their service is awesome and the only ones I had problems with was their contract people. The people that actually works for the company have been well-trained. Vivint is a wonderful company and I've already been recommending them. Everybody that come to my house want to know what company it is and I give them all the information.

Very unprofessional installation. Appointment was supposed to take 3-4 hours, yet he was in my house almost 7. Installer spent close to an hour in my living room talking on the phone with a buddy. Spent more time socializing than installing. Left damages to my house while trying to install an exterior camera, now Vivint claiming it wasn't their fault. Installer left the house having installed 2 pieces of equipment that weren't even operational, then told me "that's the only one I had in my truck", and told me I'd have to schedule a service call.

Great service until you get your alarm system installed. Then good luck! So disappointed!!! Our garage door security hasn’t been working and nobody seems to be able to order a technician to come fix it! Very frustrating!! I have tried calling customer service on three different occasions and I have been out on hold for up to 25 minutes before I just hang up.

I had one of the worst experience ever with this company. Technician Was was not on top of his job, scratch my hardwood floor, left wiring expose, doors in basement unsecured, stayed at my house from 12 pm to 9 pm installing the system, wife had to clean up behind him, promise me that he would be back Monday (11/20) to finish installing camera, waited all day. Was a no show (didn't call to let me know he wasn't coming).

Someone from Vivint came to my door and he wasn't pushy. My husband has dementia and I needed something like this system. I have all my windows, as well as my front, rear, and garage door secured by them, so I would know when my husband opens a door and leaves. I had a problem with the system a while ago though. I left here at 1:00 o'clock and went to the VA to visit my husband. I left there at about 4:40 o'clock and I get a call from Vivint. They said that my back door alarm was going off. Somebody came in the back door. I didn't see how that was possible because I locked all the doors. I came home and the alarm was still going off so I punched in my code. Two weeks later they were able to come out and check the back door. The tech adjusted it and did a few things to it. It's working now and they didn't charge me for it. Plus, he told me everything that was going on. He was very good and pleasant.
It's hard to reach them when you want to. I have a speaker on my phone so I can lay it down and do my own thing while I'm waiting to talk to them. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes and that's too long of a wait. One time, I had to change the battery on the panel. Their rep ran me through the process. I told him that it takes two people to change the battery. He told me to ask the neighbor for help. I replied that I didn't want to do that and to send out a tech. I still ended up asking the neighbor for help. I had a wire goes through to the garage where it's plugged in. I had to go out to the garage while my neighbor was on the panel. Vivint should have been here to help me.

We purchased the 24-hour monitoring, doorbell camera, smoke alarm and flood alarm from Vivint for our safety and we could monitor our house better. Most of the time it was a false alarm, but they responded quickly to the alarm going off. Their sales rep was friendly, had good service and explained things very well. The installation was also done professionally and quickly. We’re satisfied and we’re happy with them. We are in the process of buying another home and once we purchase one, we will get Vivint for it.

I had a problem with a item on my install. Had to call many times to get them to come back out to fix it only after I told them to come and get everything. I never did rec. a Yard sign, did not get a insurance discount and still waiting on my Alexa. Would I do it again? Probably not, I think for the $$ it is too much.

I have had Vivint installed in several of my homes in multiple states. I am not new to alarms. I have had alarms for over 20 years. From the time they entered my Orange County house to now I have spent four days in countless hours with multiple visits to still not have my alarm work properly nor did the door lock. When I have called they have stated there's nothing they can do. Yesterday I couldn't even walk outside with the alarm turned off and it would send distress signals. So not only could I not allowed Alarm my house I also could leave it. This is been a nightmare. I have had other alarm companies and I've never dealt with this type of neglect of service. I have dealt with one of their guys rummaging through my stuff, I have dealt with the answer sorry the last three days or four. I have called 11 times to get these problems corrected and addressed.
I asked for The corporate office to call me yesterday. They said they would know whenever call today. They said the corporate office has no phone number – you're right a corporate office has no phone number. I currently own five companies. Every one of my corporations including my international Corporation has a phone number. If one of my companies was running this way I would want to know. They are horrible and if I could give this a -10 I would but it seems the lowest I can rate is a one. I have been woken up the last five days with calls from the alarm company saying my system is off-line and Duress Signals keep being sent even when nobody's home and the alarm is off. We get an alarm system to protect ourselves and our hard earned belongings.
But all I have gotten from this company is a lot of "We're so sorry and will even Compu a couple months of service." But the truth is I have no service. I have taken days off of work and even had to pay somebody to be here when I was gone and in which case that tech Confirmed and then was a no show without any consideration or call. If you hire a company you expect at least the service that you pay for. I am demanding to talk to the corporate office about all of the above situations and I am sure if they look they will see in my records what I am talking about with all of the delays, misconceptions and more.

Somebody from Vivint knocked on our door when we lived in Carpentersville, Illinois. At that time, they were a relatively new company and very eager to get people to sign up, so they had a good rate and were offering more than the other company. A lot of our neighbors went with them and we also got the insert panel and put in a few extra sensors because we had exposed basement windows.
Two years ago, they called me and said they have a new and updated panel that needed to be installed and I said okay. They came and put it in but at the same point, they renewed my contract for two years without informing me and it was crappy. I wanted to get a new service when I moved to Texas, but I had to sit out with them for the rest of the contract that was almost equal to a year. I also heard a lot of people in our neighborhood in Cypress, Texas say that they don’t trust Vivint and that they had a really bad experience with them. They signed them up for one thing and got something else.
I also called Vivint one time and told them that I got an estimate from another company but got nowhere with them, that’s why I’m looking for somebody else now. Other than that, Vivint's service has been satisfactory and their reps have been pretty good to us. In fact, the first guy who came was extremely nice and he talked to us. The guy who also came out when we moved was pleasant and not overly talkative.

I had been searching for a home security system with the features that I wanted but I could not find any until I came across Vivint. I specifically wanted the following features: 24 hour video recording to the cloud, 1 to 8 HD cameras with night vision and motion detection (in addition to continuous recording), Video doorbell, Integration with door and window sensor, Battery-less cameras. Vivint met all these needs. Plus, it had the ability to add indoor cameras (I added one for the dog), monitor cameras and doorbell from a smart phone, arm/disarm from a smart phone and other features.
I am extremely happy with the system. Their installation process was easy and installer very pleasant. Their customer support is excellent. I would like a couple of features added to the Smart phone app such as a) user selectable login timeout, and b) a setting to allow/disallow a non-admin user to arm=disarm). I have submitted an enhancement for a) above and will do later for b). I am just a regular customer who is very happy with my new security system.

The installation took 3 hours longer than projected because our tech had to train someone. Our lead tech was terrific. The product is the big issue. A week after install it stopped working remotely. When I called for support the remote reboot did not work. I have to travel several hours to the site to empty the batteries and reboot the system!! That is not what I paid for.

We had an installer come in to our home, in an unmarked car and seems it was his first time. After a few hours of work, my husband needed to start doing the install and running the cables for the installer - because he had no idea what he was doing! Out of our two weeks of having the system, we've had two other tech supports come to our house to pick up items. All of them have been in a marked VIVINT car. Also, both of the installers had made comments about how the system was not installed correct! I originally had a package with the camera security, and we were deeply disappointed with the quality of the cameras considering they were $300 a piece. I called customer service to get them removed and also requested that our account get adjusted with the monthly price of $39 instead of $49, as well as our loan adjusted.
As part of the conversation, I also requested the updated documentation to show our account updates and we are still waiting for the company to send it over. I have called three times, and all of those times I've had an unreasonably long wait time - which leads me to assume two things: this company does not have enough staff to handle called or they simply do not prioritize customer service. Also in terms of their packages, this company will charge you over $500 for the control panel - which is ridiculous and not mentioned to you at any point while creating your initial package! Any other alarm company will at least include the core to the system.

The Vivint sales rep was very good. He asked about the previous provider and we ended up switching to Vivint. The installation team came in, checked everything and told me what they were going to do. If I had any questions, they answered it. I got the touchscreen, the app to log in so I can arm and disarm the system through the phone. If the alarm goes off, I get a call directly from Vivint. I've got passwords that I can assign to different people. I also had all the windows and doors secured basically through the system, along with the fire alarm and the smoke detectors, if it goes off. There are a few other things I don't have like the camera. But basically, I got these features more as a preventive system because there's no one at the house all the time. Vivint is exactly what I was looking for and they're easy to deal with. I am very satisfied with the service so far.

I'm very satisfied with Vivint since I got it. However, the rep who sold us the system was in a bit of a rush because he had the technician in here before I could think about whether I really wanted the system or not. Our schedule for installation wasn't 'til late in the afternoon but the installer came on time and didn't leave 'til 11:00. The technician was fine while was doing his job. When he put the new monitor in, he did fine and didn't take long. I also like him because he respected my house. He put covers on his shoes so he wouldn’t scrape up my wood floors and I appreciated that he was aware that I wouldn’t want scratches and tracking all through my house.
When I set off a false alarm once, Vivint called right away to make sure we're okay. And when we called when something was goofy or not working right, like when the batteries of our smoke alarm went bad and we didn't know what kind of batteries to get, they’ve been really helpful about talking us through on the phone. Then sometimes, when they couldn’t do that, they just sent a technician out as soon as they could and didn’t charge us anything for it. They also put the newer panel in here from the old one that we used to have and I had to sign up again for another three years. I'm not really happy considering I've been a customer for so long, but maybe in the end it won’t make any difference because I haven’t planned on getting rid of it, but still it evokes me in again.

I like everything about my Vivint System. I love the cameras. I love to be able to see inside and outside. However, the service is not good. Sometimes, when I leave my house in the morning, the doorbell or the driveway camera doesn’t record me walking out of the house. Also, it doesn’t record me going back to the house. Recently, some stranger walked from my backyard to my front yard and it was never recorded. On the side, coming in front of the garage, it recorded him but I can only see his back. It’s not working out and I can’t get somebody to come over. It’s like the timing or something is off. I might get all of yesterday’s stuff and nothing for today.
When my two years is up, I’m not sure if I’m going to continue with them if they don’t fix this problem. I’m too frustrated with them to even call them. But I did have two of their reps before, Eileen and Francis, that I was very comfortable with. I haven’t called them back because I felt like I’m not going to get anybody to help me. At this point, I’m not happy. They’re a little bit slow in fixing things. Also, I stayed on the phone with them for an hour. That is too long. Other than that, I would recommend them.

I loved the concepts of the system (all the cameras, apps, new touch pads, etc...), but I have had nothing but issues since it was installed. For starters it took 4 trips just to get it installed correctly and there is still a glass break that will not connect to the system. I also was unable to use the outdoor cameras because the area I was told I could place them was too far from the box. I constantly have issues connecting and seeing the cameras that were installed through the app and it often tells me my system was not able to arm when it actually did arm. It also often tells me it appears I am "offline" when I am able to access the internet and all the other apps on my phone.
My doorbell cam is currently not broadcasting and I have no clue why. I actually submitted a cancellation notice about a week ago and have not heard back from anyone. In addition, the alarm got set off one time while I was leaving and I did not receive a call for close to 10 minutes. If it had been an emergency it would have been too late.

We have had Vivint for well over 5 yrs. and well outside of our original contract. We have never used their service other than replacing the backup battery (FYI, even when power goes out and goes to the backup battery, the control panel constantly alerts you, very annoying). Anyway, attempting to cancel today. After the 3rd call, we were given the "Service #" and told to send an email. Thank goodness I called back to ask about the automatic payments that are deducted from our account because the service number I was given was wrong! Additionally, I was told that I would be billed for another month service because they require 30-day notification. So I will be billed for a service that is not working. Very disappointed and upset. Bad public relations!

Stedman ** was our tech and he did a great job. He arrived in a timely manner, explained everything well, and got all of the equipment set up. He was also very conscientious about our schedule as my family was having a very hectic morning on the day of set up. So he was willing to be flexible with us and that was a great help. The equipment itself is working well. We are very happy with everything so far!

Good product but very poor support. Agents are pleasant but it seems there aren't enough agents. The wait time to speak to someone is very long 15-30 mins. There are also not enough techs. I was told that there are less techs in the winter. I am just now being scheduled for a tech in December when I requested one in November. I'm a new customer and not all of my devices weren't working from day 1 so no way to actually trial the devices. The tech support over the phone is not helpful because they use the same help resources provided to the customer. If I could use the resources, I wouldn't be calling in. If it weren't for the install tech giving me his cell phone, I would still be waiting for a technician to come out. I'm also still waiting on alarm registration info. I had a false alarm and Vivint did call me right away. Like I said the product is great.

A couple of young men came to our door six years ago and they were lovely. They were good, and at that point I felt like we needed a bit of security. The young men had the thing installed in no time. They tested it through outside, waiting for me to say yes and they came in. We got the whole package in the beginning to try it out and then we felt we didn’t need all of it so I went with the basic. We have the motion detector, smoke detector and the back and the front doors have monitors when they open and I’m satisfied with them. Vivint has dealt with any complaints I had right away. I’ve been served pretty well and I would recommend them.

It was a good and positive experience. We bought, sensors, cameras, and smart locks, which was a good idea as we live in a city and I wanted more security. There likely would have been cheaper routes, but I decided to have it be managed by somebody else. Their team installed everything effectively. I'd probably change the video surveillance in the front of the house though as we have a camera in the back, but in front we only have a doorbell camera and I don't know if that is enough. I've had it for six months and I'm satisfied.

I've just started receiving service with Vivint, and everything went well with the installation. All of the employees that I've spoke have provided me with excellent Customer Service! I would definitely recommend Vivint to all of my friends and family for their great service.

Pleasant salesman, efficient techs. My only complaint was their insistence to install that evening. All techs were busy and they didn’t arrive at my home until 9:30pm and were not finished until 12:30am. My husband and I both needed to be up by 6am for work the next day. Other than that, we are pleased with the products we had installed.

The product seems good, but pricey. The lack of knowledge from the installer was sad. The support on the phone know little about the process, and from sales, tech, support and service all have different answers and less knowledge about the system.

The Vivint salesperson that came by was very clear and very thorough and explained all the features and the things that the company offered. The installation team was very professional. They came in like a team and were in and out before I knew it. I was reading some of the reviews and there were some complaints about customer service when I was on the website. However, the few times that I have had to call, I have had a pleasant experience. We were satisfied with everything and we will recommend them to a friend.

Vivint was fast and responsive, and they have great customer service. Included in our service package were smoke detectors, glass breaker, window sensors and the control panel. I called them three years ago and the guy they sent to us was good. The installation didn't take that long and everything went through with no problem. There was no extra charges like what ADT was always trying to do. I would recommend Vivint to others.

So I have had them since April of this year, always something wrong whether it's my camera, my box, thermostat, and they spend 3 to 4 hours on the phone or they send someone out that spends the whole day here working on it... you know what's sad is someone broke in and the camera couldn't even catch them leaving due to not working. Wow..terrible company.
